HOBIE!??? and i was like oh ok i get it. this is what all of you guys were talking about when you said you used to have crushes on cartoons? like if this was ten years ago? you wouldn't have heard the end of it. like my brain can not imagine a more perfect character design. hobie showed up and my third eye was opened. his physical characteristics and personality seem to have formed from my brain like venus or something. mind blown i was like OHHH

Yes, Miles was respectful enough to pull his hand away when Gwen was hesitating but he also waited a little before he sat beside her, he didn't rush into anything, he only gets closer, slowly, when she says "it really is always so great to talk to you" cuz he was waiting for her confirmation that his company makes her happy a.k.a. comfortable and that it's ok for him to do it

But all in all, she was a chill girlfriend.

You are aware Gwen is kind of a bombshell.

If the way Miles drools over her and the way Hobie talks to her didn’t make you realize that, someone else would.

At first you were okay with it, thinking they were only like this because she was beautiful.

But more men and women started to hit on her. And the more she got compliments, the more it fuelled your jealousy.

Gwen didn’t think much of it though, always brushing off the flirting as mindless compliments.

It wasn’t until your unspoken frustration started translating in your body language did she get a clue into your jealousy.

It had gotten to the point where she sat the both of you down to talk about it.

She didn’t understand initially though.

She thought it was an issue of trust and that hurt her. But the real reason hurt more;

Your esteem was starting to get low and grew lower to where you felt you weren’t good enough for her.

You felt like she deserves someone better. More attractive, more social, more perfect.

But Gwen would say otherwise.

And she did.

“Y/N. I love you. No one could ever compare to you because you are everything I could ever ask for. You’re perfect and I could only love you. Don’t ever forget that, okay?”

Ever since, she makes sure to tell you everyday how much she loves you.

If someone tries to flirt with her, it’ll go in one ear and out the other.

She’ll even go as far as telling that person that she’s taken or to cease their advances.

There’s only one person who can flirt with her. And that's you.

I wonder if anyone else have thought of this but i can’t seem to see how gwen can be “doomed by the narrative” in ATSV, when i watched the movie her “in every other universe...” statement doesn’t really hold any substance to contribute to the doomed by the narrative trope to me. Since a lot of people say that gwen essentially falls for peter parker as a person, and that’s what i’m also getting from emma stone’s gwen. While they are arguably the same person but trying to apply that trope to miles just doesnt work since miles and peter are different people still. Then we also have that one comic where miles and gwen are married and she’s just fine?? So she’s not doomed at all not to mention that in the movie itself, they try to portray miles and gwen as “aggressively soulmates” so i can’t see how anything will go bad with these two.

Waaaaiit cause you’re actually cooking right now, there really is nothing to imply that she’s doomed by the narrative within this story or any other one!! You laid it all out perfectly, I really don’t have much to add. It just lends further to how the writers really screwed up by trying to force the romance between them (even though their “love” story was allegedly planned from the beginning)

The whole romance side of the plot just unravels more and more the further we dive into it on my page 😭
