Hi guys.

It's me again and I guess I have another challenge this time and this is too all writers who haven't found their title, even if you have a title you can join.

OC inspirations.

And book inspirations.

How did your book grow into it now?

Was a fanfic to original story?

Vibes?

What inspired you to write your WIP? It could be a book, a show, a person or even a character.

My current WIP is based on a Wolfblood, Twilight and Avatar:The Last Airbender.

Wolfblood gave me the way to write controlled werewolves, Twilight gave me my protagonist, Thalia but she was a nameless Black girl who had a relationship with a vampire and Avatar for my panther shifters but slowly the book changed, and the Avatar gave me inspo for her abilities and she was a mortal who lived with supernatural creatures.

So yeah.

Thats it.

The vibe is a snowy winter wonderland filled with secrets and monsters and strange happenings after a strange human girl meets a tribe of Inuit werewolves.

The tone is quite dark at first.

Here, have this that I literally wrote at 2am last night for an upcoming Horizons to Battlegrounds chapter whilst about to fall asleep

Lancelot's POV;

"Don't try me, Ashman, or by Arawn's Bow I will tie. You. To. That. fucking tree. And leave you there." Gawain seethed, teeth bared, forehead vein throbbing, eyes flashing with barely contained anger.

Unflinchingly, Lancelot met his gaze and raised his jaw in a silent, defiant challenge.

Precisely why Lancelot assumed the Green Knight wouldn't make good on his threat, he wasn't sure, but the rope that now pinned Lancelot rather unceremoniously to the tree behind him spoke volumes of the Fey's resolve in the matter.

Gawain sat turned away from him now, though the smug look had slipped from his face a second before Lancelot couldn't see it anymore. He'd been impressively thorough, Lancelot had to admit. Even at full strength and armed, Lancelot may have even struggled to stop the Green Knight from restraining him.

'He's clearly done this before...' Lancelot mused to himself. How or why was beyond him, but a dozen ideas milled throughout his head- each a little less tame than the last.

Jumping into an open game tag given by @introchasingstars about the names of my characters. I'm going to limit the characters to characters that show up in Life's a Zoo that belong to me (not the character sused by permission). All art in this post was done by the amazing @vigoburrito

Snow Lupinwood is my first fursona and for the longest time was just known as Snow. When I decided I wanted to use her name as my pseudonym for writing I had to hammer out a good last name. In the end I went with Lupinwood, which literally would mean 'wolf wood'.

My other fursona, Anastasia Horsefeathers came with her name as I was figuring out her color. I wanted a name that sounded old fasioned and regal that would fit her commanding presence. Horsefeathers is a play on draft horse breeds sometimes having feathers around their hooves., though she doesen't.

Oliver Enconprie is a character I'd had in mind with no name for a long time. When I finally began writing in the Life's a Zoo verse I finally was forced to give him a name. Searching on baby name sites I finally settled on the first name Oliver. After some back and forth brainstorming with my partner Vigoburrito and some comparison's to Georgette from Oliver and Company the name Enconprie (meaning company in French) helped finalize his name.

Nin Maufun I also had help with. Once I determined her color scheme I talked with a friend who was very big into Anime and who has a great sense for cute things. After we decided on Nin, which means sapphire, I knew I wanted something cute for the last name. Maufun was based on trying to make a cat sounding name, as civets look similar to cats.

Research Rabbit-hole Tag Game!

Another day, another made up tag game.

I researched;

Medieval era medicinal/field pain medication

Something I learned;

Willow bark was the origin of aspirin, and it contains both a pain reliever and other chemicals that aid in reducing inflammation.

Poppies are the origin of many modern day pain meds, as they naturally contain opium.

Meds including morphine, codeine and heroin are derived from the poppy plant, even now in modern day. Synthetic versions include methadone.

The drugs formulated from the Poppy plant are highly addictive.

Those given Poppy medication could end up hallucinating, often having vivid dreams as a result of the drug use. (Poppy dreams)

Poppy seeds themselves do not contain much opium, though eating enough of them can cause a positive result if tested for opioid use, such as when they are used in baking.

"Poppy milk" or "poppy latex" is the name for the whitish liquid that comes from the seed pod when cut, and this is what contains opium.

Both the Poppy and Willow Bark are still used medicinally today.

All in all, very useful information for my whumpy as fuck fic in which pain medication derived from plants was a necessity tbh!
