Dear diary 🧸,
i twisted my ankle today lol :') but thankfully it doesn't hurt! we went to a rose garden, tea plantation, botanical garden and the Ooty lake in the first half of the day. we wanted to boat on the lake but unfortunately it was raining, so we three went to a place which had those animated things in 3 rooms - horror house, freaky jungle and mirror maze. the maze was the scariest of all cuz we legit got lost there and i panicked so hard lol. then at 4:45 PM we went to catch our toy train (joy ride) from the Udhagamandalam railway station to Coonoor. it was for an hour and the views were legit so good (pic in prev post). rn i'm having dinner and yeahh that's it :)
will update tomorrow if I have time and internet works because we're going to Kodaikanal tomorrow!
love,
me

Masala Chai - The Spice Tea of India
Ooty Tea FactoryChai is India's Spice Tea! Chai Tea is also known in America as Chai Tea. However, Chai Tea in Hindi is tea. Therefore, it is not necessary to refer to Chai Tea after Chai Tea.
Masala Chai, the Indian name for chai, is Masala Chai. Masala is a mixture of spices and tea. We get Spice Tea when we combine the two!
It is the foundation of Indian culture. You will undoubtedly encounter a Chai Wallah or Chai Vendor shouting "Chayee!" even if fresh water isn't available. Chayee! Masala, or Spice Tea, has been enjoyed in India since the 1800's.
You may be wondering what spices are used.
It all depends on where you live in India. Every Chai Wallah, or vendor, has their own recipe. There are two spices you can taste whether you're in the North or the South of India. These spices are Cardamom, Ginger, and Coriander. You can also add Cinnamon or Cloves to the base. Then you will see variations such as coconut, pepper, fenne lemongrass, peppermint and curry leaves.Ooty Tea Factory
There are endless combinations! This is the beauty and power of this soothing, rejuvenating, and calming beverage. It can also be drunk iced, but this is not the preferred way to drink it.
India uses ground black tea, most commonly Assam, which is known as CTC, or Cut, Tear, Curl. To counteract the astringency it produces a strong, rich cup. It is best to add milk and sweetener to make it more flavorful.
This beverage is delicious, regardless of whether it's called Masala Chai or Spice Tea or its generic name Chai. The combination of the spices and black tea, the milk, and the sweetener make it utterly delicious.
