Ok jokes aside just finished reading the recent chap + the headcanons and oh god I have THOUGHTS. Kai and his loser clique can all rot, leave it to insecure men to try dragging you down to their level because your ambition scares them and reminds them of just how incompetent they truly are. I'm not a film major but in somewhat similar humanities field and personally I could relate so much to that scene of a group of guys putting a lone girl in such an intimidating situation just to "teach her a lesson" because they consider themselves experienced. Like go to hell. Kudos to her for immediately slapping that cunt and putting kai in his fucking place.

And as for our main couple oh my god 😭 yn you broke my heart by what you said to gojo (I can't imagine how terrible she'd feel once she finds out his past like it's just so heartbreaking to have lost so much and have to hear that you have it easy. Ily bby toru), but watching her accept that she was wrong and how they both communicated really warmed my heart. Fucking finally he admitted he likes her and wants to be with her. Now go be w your girl!!

finally some appreciation for my man and favourite character kingler like he goddamn DESERVES. i actually have not enjoyed tadc very much theres so much i rly dislike abt it but its like super well produced and indie so like you watch to be on the loop (i wish it was actually rendered closer to the quality of cd games from the 2000s that it seemed to be referencing but like, it looks how it looks and thats how it is), i rly disliked the script for the mpst part in the first 2 eps but ive loved kingler from day 1 so having an ep with mostly just him and pomni (i have mixed feelings on her too but w/e) was great great great and we had some lore n stuff but rly like i could smell a fellow traumatized man whos a bit wacky to cope from miles away and im glad to be proven Right

sorry im older man fucker so he rly hits all the boxes bc hes actually so sweet and helpful hes just mentally unstable (love him for that) and a lot of his endearing like caring nature comes thru in the physical aspect of the character and with less dialogue, rly the less dialogue the show has the better, idk who does the scripts and i dont wanna diss them but like oof i fucking hate it shkdh like its not like its never funny but its just, off, ive still not been able to properly explain to my wife the way that its off to me, and it bothers me to not be able to cohere those emotions! anyway

kingler so cute so very handsome and uwu so gentle and kind 💖💖💖 i love how gentle he is and good to pomni (ofc ppl are gonna call it fatherly or god forbid grandfatherly when hes like 40, and now if you ship them ppl will say its incesty when theyre two grown adults but w/e) like idk i just love a kind mentally unwell man!!! im simple!!! him just overexposing at the near end in dialogue was rly awkward in the writing like man they just, the dialogue is so not good. but in theory his character is so good and the thing abt the darkness and such was sweet. like hes just always been so endearing and the ep just gives a lot of free real estate kingler screentime to drink with my eyeballs, it doesnt change my opinion on the character at all bc ive always loved him this much

the rest was ok just the typical fare for the most part, like tadc rly often makes me so dissatisfied bc it has so So much potential but the ways it kinda just ends up like a dumbed down typical cartoon is really meh. i do love caine though and more proof that hes a non malicious (although maybe harmfully ignorant) ai. his gags almost land for me if they werent really Really lampshaded, i love how much he cares but is incapable (yet) of improving, i thought it was sweet zooble was so earnest with him. like, the whole tadc def improves the less mean spirited it is, for me. which is hard bc the most favoured character is rancid mean disney purple guy.

gghh why is this show so agdidhsifirh (gestures of anger) like its like, much worse ENA or smth but i know theres more that bothers me abt it than that, and i cant grasp it. im stil in hell irl so i cant cohere a lot in general so w/e, i need to chill and let go. i did like the horror trophy head designs of everyone that i could see (i wanted to get a better look at kinglers but i couldnt find a good frame from watching on my phone) like they were super over the top and fun. i wish the settings they travelled to still felt like, even remotely circusy? they truly feel like just we’re in a different cartoon. but its ok i only hate 749374947493 things abt the shows style choices

My first Writeblr tag game!!

Thanks so much for the tag @mthollowell-writes! This is one of my first ever tag-games, so I'm pumped. Also, this made me realize I rly need to do a WIP intro for my main project. It's a dark fantasy/horror with some romance, too. The working title is Fucked Up Fairytale. That aside, let's goooooo

1) What motivates you to write?

Anything and everything! Writing is my coping mechanism, for good times and bad. It helps me keep hold of happy feelings and release negative ones. 

2) A line/short snippet of your writing that you are most proud/happy of. If not maybe share a line of someone else's work you love (just please credit them)

I have multiple WIPs, but I'm going to refer to the one I plan on actually turning into a book. The working title is Fucked Up Fairytale. That may undergo revisions. Anyhow, I'll share two lines/snippets, if I may! Mainly because the first one is very short indeed. Here it is:

I braced myself for stupidity, and he didn’t let me down. —This is in the main character's (Margot's) narrative inner voice during a conversation with her little brother. 

And here's the other one, same chapter, same conversation! I feel like I may have gone a little overboard with Margot's world-weariness, but I kinda like it:

“The world I dream of has me making six figures at a job where my boss doesn’t need me to show him my tits,” I said, a chill creeping into my tone. “It has me going home at a reasonable hour so I can watch TV and fall asleep with a bag of spicy chips, preferably next to a spouse who doesn’t mind that they make me gassy.”

Neither of us spoke for a couple beats. Then, softly, my brother asked, "And where's the magic in that?"

"Nowhere, Callie. That's kind of the point."

3) Which OC makes you smile every time you think/talk about them and what are they like?

That would apply to Margot's love interest from Fucked Up Fairytale. He's, um… special. To me, and in general. Seeing as he's one of the Folk, it would be unwise to share his name, especially since not even Margot knows it as of right now. He calls himself the Huntsman, so that'll work for now.

He's this rather delicate-looking youngish man; slender, short and long-haired—he's quite pretty, really. And he's the smuggest, most self-satisfied dork you've ever met, but in a sweet, non-threatening way. I just love his and Margot's more wholesome exchanges. They clash a lot; she's a recent university graduate, has been a skeptic all her life and didn't mean to get roped up into any supernatural stuff, and he's this forest-dwelling fairy-like entity. But they end up being really good for each other, despite (or perhaps because of) their differences. Even though their dynamic starts off based purely on physical attraction, it grows into something more and their interactions really feel cathartic at times.

4) What process of writing do you enjoy the most?

I love what happens shortly after getting the idea for something. It's like a little twitch in the brain that grows and grows and it's just… awesome. And I'm not actually doing anything at that stage, so it's also the easiest step. Also, I just love writing dialogue.

5) What part of writing do you think you are the best at? (Yes stroke your own ego it's okay)

I think that's also writing dialogue! Not much else to say there. Oh, and nature descriptions sometimes. I've been told my nature descriptions are beautiful.

6) What is something in the writeblr community is most enjoyable?

How passionate everyone is! We all do the same thing, we write, and we all love doing it. And there's such an undertone of positivity to it all, of openness. That's really nice.

7) A writing tool/device you use that helps you with writing? (It could be speech to text, a writing program etc)

Oof. This one's too hard for me. I'm honestly struggling with a lot of writing software so… I don't have a good answer to that. 

8) A piece of worldbuilding that you like in your own story? (It could be the magic system, a particular place in the story, a law etc)

The majority of Fucked Up Fairytale takes place in a single location. It's a magical forest that is its own entity, almost deity-adjacent. Certain characters worship it to gain its protection and power, but it can also be dangerous, trapping humans and turning them into so something they're… not. 

I just really like that forest! I enjoy describing it, I enjoy creating new creatures it may be harboring, I enjoy lending this seemingly inanimate idyllic environment a personality that kind of shines through in a lot of scenes. I almost wish it were real. Almost.

9) What piece of advice would you say to encourage others to write if they are having a rough patch?

I'm with you.

That's all I, or anyone, can really offer, I believe. I've dealt with month-long dry spells, really horrible ones. I know it's shitty, I know it sucks. My advice, if I had any, would be to force yourself to write anyways. It's the only way to get back into it, and you should never ever give up writing. Writing is worth it.

Well, obviously I'm gonna have to mention @prismatic-bell who once wrote a wonderful thirty-part fanfic to one of my stories and is, in fact, amazing. Xe has contributed greatly to a lot of my stories and I will be forever grateful for that. Also @rehnwriter who helped me set up my blog because I'm bad at internet stuff and need constant surveillance.

“You’re so squirmy!” Rey giggles, clawing into Finn’s stomach. He digs his heels into the ground and throws his head back. His laugh is so pretty, and she doesn’t hear it nearly enough.

“Rey, c’mohon--”

“It’s true! Look at you! You’re like a little worm!” She squeezes at his waistline and he shrieks, rolling away, but she follows him. He starts kicking and it does absolutely nothing to deter her.

“Stohop it!” Another squeeze sends him curling up, directly into her grasp, just as she planned. She stays there, working her fingers into the softness of his stomach, and his laughter plummets deeper. He crosses his arms over his stomach and kicks again, more involuntary this time.

“You have a really good spot somewhere here, but where is it?” Her fingers fan out to his sides and start creeping upwards.

“Not telling!” He manages to stick his tongue out at her. She gasps.

“You don’t have to! I’ll find it.” She grins, leaning close, and the panicked little flutter in Finn’s voice is enough to fuel her for the next few years. She presses a kiss to his nose as her fingers trip up, up, up his ribs.

“There it is!” Rey cheers, zeroing in on Finn's topmost ribs. His elbows swiftly give out and he giggles violently into the floor, wiggling desperately but not really going anywhere. He crawls away and she drags him back by the ribs, taking extra care to slot her fingers in the grooves there. That really takes him out--now she’s got two handfuls of boneless Finn to contend with.

“Rey, are you killing him?” Poe peeks into the room.

“No.” She scritches her fingers down Finn’s ribs and he pounds the floor with his fist.

“The Resistance needs him, babe.” Poe kisses her forehead. She slows her fingers. Finn sucks in a shuddery, laughter-tinged breath, still thoroughly lacking use of his limbs.

“Don’t you have work to do?” She sticks her tongue out at Poe.

“Don’t be rude,” He huffs with no real venom, “Lemme show you a trick.”

“Poe, you stay away from me, you--” Finn’s voice is lost to an ear-piercing squeal as Poe buries his face into his neck. Finn fully topples over and takes Poe down with him, both of them collapsing with an oof. Finn catches a glimpse of Poe’s smirk and wow is it delicious to watch his eyes widen.

“No, nonono, don’t you dare--”

“Get his thigh,” Poe laughs, leaning back towards Rey for one brief moment. Finn tries to shimmy away, but Poe’s back on him again, and judging by the pitch of his laughter, Poe’s nibbling there. Rey slips her hand underneath Finn’s leg and curls her fingers into his inner thigh. Finn screams, arching his back, but Poe’s sudden fingers on his stomach sends him crashing back down.

“Behold...snorts!” Poe beams over their masterpiece. Streams of giggles bubble out of Finn with no hope of stopping, and sure enough, snorts begin marching out between the lines, one by one, until both of his partners are cooing at him.

“You are so mean to me.” Finn points an accusatory finger at both of them, but the sparkle in his eye tells a different story. Poe rolls his eyes and buries his hands back under Finn’s arms until he’s giggling out an apology.

so i watched cobra kai all in two days and i have so many -

this show has so many cool and smart angles to it, but the same time.... its so stupid oh my god everyone is so dumb literally mr miyagi held all of the braincells in this whole universe 

like i am but at the same time i am not surprised it was made like this, bc in hindsight of course there were hordes of ppl simping over johnny lawrence ....  but it still amuses me that this is like... an Actual Official Thing

how much fun this cast has is super visible and i love it

i rly enjoy how the world was expanded ! i did grow up watching the karate kid movies, so watching how they progressed the world of the movies so organically was pretty cool. it rly feels like its the same universe

i fucking LOVE stories that are largely about a Thing. dancing ,skating, sports its just so thrilling to experience this all consuming relationship people can have with this type of activity? and martial arts are just that much more intense, so yeah, grown ass men kicking each other around at the lightest provocation and a war veteran caring so much abt teen karate is Ridiculous.... but i love it all because thats the intensity i find so thrilling

was kinda surprised with how much im missing mr. miyagi. first because, like everyone is so unhinged jesus christo, it just really throws into relief how much his character grounded the narrative of the movies. but also hes just a really great character

and on that note it rly Gets Me that the show itself aknowledges that and plays that into daniels angst and all the little ways they sorta weave myiagisms into the whole show........ im not getting emotional over this dumb karate dads show OK

they really went down the down and out johnny lawrence route huh. like i was always kinda bummed we see kreese choking him and then we never see him again in the movies, and while i love dumpster fire problematic trash himbo ck johnny, its like......................... actually really sad that his life turned out like this fjngn

everytime i hear ‘babes’ and ‘pussy’ i die a little inside. i know thats the point but i am a v cringe easy person, have mercy (ehe)

loved the way they are constantly drawing parallels between johnny and mr. myiagi of all people. hes the handy man of his building that has a bullied kid asking for help and eventually steps up to teach them karate, beats up a bunch of bullies for him, creates a friendship with said kid, estranged from family, drinks his sorrows away, surprisingly one of the least quick to anger characters (which says more about everyone else really but.... Well.), no schemes or ulterior motives hes just tryna vibe here.... oh and ofc magically heals miguel of is asthma apparently. the true disciple.. meanwhile daniel is his usual messy petty self even tho he wants to be mr myiagi so bad 

also interesting about that is how miguels character is a parallel of both johnny and daniel at the same time

overall the parallels in ck are done really well, drawing comparisons and also subverting them constantly. theyre well thought out

THE PARALELOGRAMS

fr tho, the angle being explicitly the cycle of trauma and its effects and how trumatized adults in turn traumatize kids, maliciously or not, is so interesting

but! on the flip side of that, it feels like the writers are getting in their own way @ letting the characters grow. especially this last season. theres only so many times you can do "johnny and daniel are getting along but 5mins later they are (literally) fighting over some dumbass random issue" or "johnny puts in 20% of effort with robby and then gives up" before it gets on your nerves yknow?

i see daniel no longer talks like macchio ingested 15 shots of espresso before every take and idk how to feel about that tbh

interesting tension in daniel, as in, in tkk mr miyagi was there and daniel was frankly, kind of a lil shit, this messy petty spitfire hot tempered sassy kid,(johnny lawrence voice: just... stop being so annoying) but now hes the adult, and he wants to be mr. miyagi... but hes just not, and never will be to his very core and it shakes him and in a way hes trying to find who he is now that he sees himself in a position to be a not! cobra kai figure. i kinda really like that 

plus how that relates to his cobra kai trauma. idk if the writers thought abt it Like That, i think so, but in any case, its interesting bc it seems like daniel has told everyone whod listen about johnny lawrence his Pretty Boy Karate Rival and high school and 84 cobra kai... But. no one seems to know what went on in 85 (or 86? idk) which was just so much worse

like ye og cobras were shitheads, but tkk iii is just two hours of daniel being emotionally and physically tortured. 

like, the third movie is.............chaotic, to put it nicely, and many people ignore it, but the writers clearly didnt. daniels actions are, in a way, responding so much more to the events of tkk iii than to the first movie ie. johnny himself, AND. daniel doesnt rly seem to have dealt with that trauma? he never told sam? doesnt feel like hes ever told amanda? he doesnt even say terrys name out loud? freaks Out over kreese ? the way he reacts to robbys deceit? his FACE when he walks past the new "fear does not exist in this dojo" paint or kreeses photo? hmMm i sense Pain

his fashion tho........... disappointing. where are the flower shirts daniel huh we had one (1) shirt what a tragedy STOP WEARING SUITS ALL THE TIME . also the band ts/grunge bi are a look for johnny but part of me longs for the preppy lovable 80s bully chic johnny lawrence getups

weird that they never used that last moment of karate kid where johnny kinda... snaps out of his anger and hands daniel the trophy almost in tears. like “youre alright larusso, good match” “thanks a lot”  that being their last direct interection seems like itd be perfect fruit for cobra kai but... they just dont. weird. 

especially when, the FIRST SCENE they see each other, suposedly in 30+ years, the first thing to come out of daniels mouth is QUOTE "u still got those golden locks huh?" WHO SAYS SHIT LIKE THAT DANIEL FUCKING SAN 

also amandas immediate reaction "your pretty boy rival?" like. can we talk about the fact that daniel had to have imparted to his wife the very important information that his high school bully/karate rival was like Really Cute and Fucking Hot Actually

 the writers Knew exactly what they were doing and honestly.............. power to them

also I was thinking that daniel sounded strangely fond in that first scene, and i wonder if he developed a weird affection for johnny on the grounds that of all of his Karate Rivals johnny was actually the only one who didn’t actively tried to literally kill him

i was actually delightedly surprised with how great the chemistry between them is, like from the get go i am Invested. their rl friendship totally bleeds through and its fantastic

. granted, idiots enemies to lovers friends is my Thing so i am biased  

johnny lawrence: i am down in the dumps, i fucked up my whole life and my sons probably, largely in light of the trauma that the father figure sensei and the philosophy of my karate inflicted on me and all my friends. u know what i should do, as a traumatized, unreliable mess of an adult? teach that same philosophy to some other kids! what could go wrong! 

but really i enjoy the setup of it. i kinda like that i watched it late because, season 1 was johnny setting himself up for failure in a way and it was exciting to watch it all go to shit sjfn

Like. his heart might be in the right place, but theres just.... not a way to teach something like ‘strike hard, no mercy’ and not have it fuck up a kid 

case and point: aisha, miguel and hawk become annoying as all hell over that bullshit in the end of s1, even before shit gets truly fucked up

billys subtle panicked eyes when he sees hawk and miguel fighting dirty in the all valley was SO GOOD especially in parallel with the panic that is so visible in his face in the movie when kreese tells bobby to injure daniel and in the sweep the leg scene 

seen people question wether kreese should have returned and i absolutely think he needed to. johnny needed to realize that cobra kais fundamentals are flawed, at the root, beyond kreese himself being a toxic piece of shit 

also who are we kidding? we are here to see the tkk characters play on new playgrounds!

i get what they're doing abt kreeses backstory, ( also. cobra kai. pq eles caem nas cobras djjs sorry) but did it need to take up that much time? feels like they couldve  done it in half the run time and developed some other stories better

like dont get me wrong, i dont hate anyone,its not a jane and rafael from jtv situation,  and i am interested and invested in their arcs, but i wouldnt say i like   Like them, as in, personality wise 

like, sams grappling with ptsd was rly gutting and i enjoyed that plus her slight rage issues, 

which nicely parallel torys rage issues. torys background is all over the place tho so im pretty on the fence abt her so far

robby deserves better in every way, and i like how smart and cunning and surprisingly sweet he is

 carmen is sweet but. i just feel like her character is blunted to make the johnny relationship easier. like when shes furious with him after miguels injury but then forgives him like an episode later? and then convinces him to fight for the tournament bc she had a karate epiphany off screen even tho she was always against it? meh. feels like with the plot thiccening she was swallowed and now shes like a crutch for johnny mora than anything, which is disappointing.

aisha was cool and im kinda mad she wasnt in s3, especially bc a storyline with her tory and sam was like RIGHT THERE , but also... cant say i was super super fond of her... doesnt feel like we ever spent enough time on her

overall its a good cast but the main draw for me remains the og cast 

the tory/sam miguel/robby Thing. enjoy how theyre Narrative Foils and i like how their stories were so dramatically entangled but oh god give me a break with the teenage love square for the love of god. if u gonna put us through that at least have the decency to not make it so straight

and honestly some sam/tory        miguel/robby romantic tension would even make more sense. just saying! 

also im not sure how i feel abt the cobra kai: red miyagi do: blue theyre going with since some of daniels most iconic looks in tkk are also red. like it was a color they (johnny and him) sorta shared. i get it, opposite but complementary but idk... a little too fire nation and water tribe for me .

 and like the cobra kai kids are so funny abt it bc their outifts grow progressively more ridiculously coordinated. its like do they group chat every morning before leaving their houses? 

robby still sticks out like that tho. he went thru an athleisure/daniel san tsleeves phase and now hes back in the bandts grunge, but his color scheme doesnt fully blend with the other cobra kais. hmmmm.

LOVED LOVED LOVED both the okinawa episode and the cobra kais easy rider episode just such good good heart aching fun

bobby is an icon. he was in tkk and he is now ck hope appears more and more

 tommy is like the most iconic background character. all his lines, freaking gold then and now. sigh :( 

the framing in the okinawa trip was so good everything was so good

when kumiko reads mr miyagis letters........ oh my god, my eyes FILLED with tears, it was so heart wrenching :(( tamlyns delivery was so emotional and lovely and its so obvious everyone involved in ck has so much love and respect for pat morita and mr miyagi as character, and i adore that it exists like this electric current through the show

when we were watching i told my sister i thought that ali would be miguels big shot surgeon and ngl i am so disappointed that didnt happen. hire me cobra kai writers

at some point, he was mentoring some budding actor who was trying to audition for a character in game of thrones

when pedro heard about it, he also sent in an audition tape because he thought the character suited him perfectly. (it helped that he was friends with the showrunner's gf)

oberyn died violently after just seven episodes and literally everyone was devastated. even me, someone who doesn't care about GoT but thirsted for our bi king in yellow nonetheless

hello new ppl, today sucks so imma talk about the two shows i binged last night to try and not break down for a 4th time today. 

talking about Jujutsu Kaisen and Onyx Equinox, will probably have spoilers so don’t read if you don’t want them!

Jujutsu Kaisen:

so for starters, i usually love mappa animes so i had high hopes for this one, especially with how much others seem to like it but i gotta be real guys, it wasn’t a fav

i plan to keep watching it bc i DO like the characters and animation but the story isn’t rly hitting it for me. perhaps i’ve grown out of the need for torture porn anime but god i could do without all the death/violence/needless depressing shit

also the pacing in this anime is whiplash inducing. its not that its hard to follow, bc most of the story is linear thus far, but it just. feels so off??? like one second he’s being told ‘we’re gonna execute u’ and the next he’s having idle conversation while picking up his grandpa’s ashes like WHAT LMAO

fushigoro’s hair will forever irritate me, also

gorou is a zaddy tho, hello sir, pls remove ur blindfold more mmm yes

ok but the story- so i get that this whole show/story is centered on the idea of negativity and curses and basically exorcising demons, so ofc its gonna go into the ‘life or death, humanity judgement day’ point of conversation but when i tell u i’m so tired of this philosophical bs being put on a pedestal in anime BOI

when junpei shows up and u show me copious amounts of scenes of him being abused and tortured relentlessly, OVER MULTIPLE EPISODES, alongside all this death bullshit throughout the show, ONLY TO KILL THE POOR KID AFTER THEY KILL HIS MOM- i’m out man, i cANNOT

i didn’t even have time to develop some form of attachment to the character, i just felt bad for him. why are you going to introduce this tortured person who is lost just to kill him? its so blegh story-telling it kills me

and for what, to just??? motivate the protag?? make him question his already questionable humanity??????? what is the point, pls explain

in general by the time i caught up to the most recent eps i was already fairly drained mentally. i don’t think its a good thing for a show to drain u LOL

i THINK i’ll keep up with it for a bit just to see if it goes in any sort of a better direction, but idk

love the opening tho. would also love some explanation on the panda

Onyx Equinox:

so also another violent anime but this one at least feels idk purposeful???? bc its portraying creatures that are blood thirsty and idk it just made more sense in my brain

i didn’t think i’d be a fan of the animation, but its actually p good! the style is comfortable, and the gore is like- while still gross/icky, its cartoonish enough that i don’t feel icked out

the voice acting is okay, tho Izel’s has got me uh,,, oof. not a fav, is all. 

also i curse like a sailor but the cursing in this show forever felt random and out of place, like i could do without like 80% of it

ALSO i kno the point is that Izel is like, the worst humanity’s got but CAN SOMEONE CUT THE KID SOME SLACK. half this show was nonstop bullying this 13 yr old, liKE CAN WE PLS,, HE LOST HIS SISTER, TRIED TO KILL HIMSELF, NOW IS A PUPPET FOR THE GODS PLS SOMEONE JUST HUG HIM OR SMTH

a/n: i rly just wanted to give you a cute little fic from my college au, this is like rly early on before the full friend group has been formed but it’s still really fun and cute! i guess the one TW to watch out for here is implied/reference child abuse

“What do you think, jacket or no jacket?” Stephen asked, giving himself the once over.

“You look fine without it, but bring it just in case you get cold,” Christine suggested. “Where are you off to all dressed up?”

“I’m meeting my boyfriend for dinner,” Stephen replied. “Normally we don’t get too dressy but Anthony found a new restaurant to try so we decided to make an event out of it.”

“Is that his name?! I’ve been waiting to hear about this guy since we moved in!” Christine said.

“I was actually thinking about bringing him around for a little bit after we’re back from dinner, if that’s okay with you guys,” Stephen suggested.

“Finally!” Wong shouted. “All I hear about is how dreamy he is and I’ve been denied the opportunity to meet him! Not that it’s your fault, schedules are a bitch, but it’s about time, isn’t it?”

“What’s going on?” Pepper asked, joining her suitemates in Stephen and Wong’s room.

“Stephen is finally bringing his boyfriend over!” Christine cheered.

“I think he’s in one of my classes, actually, but we haven’t talked much yet,” Pepper replied. “Who’s giving him the shovel talk?”

“Me,” Wong insisted.

“Anthony doesn’t get intimidated easily but I’m genuinely concerned you guys are going to intimidate him,” Stephen said.

“That’s the point,” Wong replied. “Go out on your date and have fun! The shovel talk will be gentle, promise.”

“Let’s stalk his Instagram while Stephen is out!” Christine suggested.

Stephen rolled his eyes as his suitemates scurried off to… somewhere. Probably the living room, as most of their scheming happened in a central area. Grabbing his jacket and a few other essentials, he headed out. “I’ll see you guys soon, love you!”

“I’ll love you even more if you bring some desserts or leftovers!” Christine yelled, just as Stephen closed the door. “Do you think he heard?”

“Why don’t we just bake a cake or something? I don’t like to depend on other people for my baked goods,” Pepper said. “Red velvet sound good?”

Stephen tackle hugged Anthony before he even closed the door.

His boyfriend let out a little “oof!” before hugging him back.

“Damn Stephen be careful, he’s tiny!” Rhodey teased.

“Ever since we were kids, anytime I heard self deprecation from Anthony I just hugged him like this,” Stephen replied, kissing the top of his boyfriend’s head before pulling away. “He can handle it.”

“Where are you guys off to?” Rhodey asked, sitting down and tying his shoes.

“There’s a restaurant in town that we haven’t tried yet, so we decided to go there,” Anthony replied.

“And my suitemates really want to meet Ant so we’re going to see them after. Apparently they want to give him a shovel talk,” Stephen added. “Where are you going?”

“First of all, Tones, good luck!” Rhodey teased. “And it’s a funny story. I met this girl Carol in one of my classes, and she and her girlfriend know this family who know that guy Bruce Banner and they’re having a guacamole party or something, so she invited me to that. Anywhere there’s guac is a place I need to be.”

“That’s awesome, but wait how do these people all know each other?” Stephen asked.

“Carol’s roommate is the one hosting the gathering, and I think her brothers are the ones who decided it needed to be a guac-specific event,” Rhodey replied. “From what I understand, Bruce has a crush on one of the brothers but I don’t know which one. I don’t even know the names of any of the siblings.”

“That sounds really fun, Platypus! Feel free to bring some guacamole back if the opportunity arises,” Anthony said.

“If I’m offered some, I will!” Rhodey said. “Get out of here so I can decide if I want to change my shirt or not, and have fun! Be safe!”

“Thanks Dad,” Stephen teased, rolling his eyes. “You too!”

Anthony took Stephen’s hand as they left, overcome with joy at the idea of going out with his boyfriend in the city.

“How was your day?” He asked.

Stephen shrugged. “Fine, nothing unusual happened. Wong tried an everything bagel and didn’t like it at all. How about yours?”

“Okay I’m going to follow up about your suitemates later,” Anthony said. “My day was about the same. I got a very angry phone call from a disgruntled Howard Stark this afternoon.”

“What about?”

“He was annoyed that I didn’t answer his call in the morning, even though I was in a lecture. Then it was just the usual spiel about how I’m a disappointment and this, that, and the other. I’ve heard it all before.”

Stephen frowned. “What a dick.”

“I think he’s more dependent on using me as a punching bag, at least just verbally for now, since my mother is traveling and he’s bored? I don’t know,” Anthony said with a shrug. “It’s not a big deal.”

“It is, as I’ve told you before,” Stephen reminded him, his tone firm but loving. “Where’d your mom go?”

“Visiting my sister,” Anthony replied. “Apparently Natasha is starting a martial arts gym or a dance studio or a combination of the two (2), I don’t remember what she told me. I know it’s important to her that the people she teaches choose activities by passion and not gender roles, though. She just wants to help people find out what they’re good at while training herself, or something.”

“Oh we LOVE to see it,” Stephen said, opening the door for his boyfriend as they arrived at the restaurant.

“She excels at being the better sibling,” Anthony replied, before going to speak to the host. When he returned to Stephen, he was unsurprised when his boyfriend pulled him into another bone-crushing hug.

“You’re baby, and you’re perfect, and we’re going to have a nice night because any time I spend with you is nice,” Stephen said, softly kissing his boyfriend.

Anthony smiled, blushing and trying to hide his head in Stephen’s shoulder, even as a soft hand cupping his face held him still. “I love you.”

“Nerd. I love you too,” Stephen replied. “I don’t think my suitemates need to give you a shovel talk at all, you’re everything I could ever want, and you’re so good to me.”

“You’re going to make me cry before we even get a table,” Anthony quipped.

Stephen laughed, taking Anthony’s hand again as they were led to a table.

Once they were seated, Anthony immediately began to ask Stephen about his suitemates.

“You’ve seen my room so you know what it looks like, with Wong and me in one room and Christine Palmer and Pepper Potts in the other,” Stephen began.

“I think Pepper and I are in a class together. That name sounds familiar,” Anthony replied.

“She mentioned something about that,” Stephen said. “I doubt she’s going to give you a hard time, at least not as much as Christine and Wong.”

“What are some things that they like?” Anthony asked.

“Wong loves music and old books, but especially Beyoncé,” Stephen replied.

“Could his trust be earned with Beyoncé tickets?” Anthony immediately asked.

“Probably,” Stephen said. “You’d be doing the absolute most, but—”

“But when have you seen me not do the absolute most, in our 14 years of knowing each other?” Anthony cut him off. “What about Christine and Pepper?”

“Pepper is a sweet tooth and really likes unique TV shows, like things outside of the mainstream,�� Stephen told him. “And Christine loves sports and the color blue.”

Anthony nodded. “And?”

“And what?”

“What do you like?”

Stephen rolled his eyes but played along with his boyfriend’s antics. “You. And being your boyfriend. Also spaghetti.”

“Is that right?” Anthony asked, barely suppressing a grin. “I love you. Your taste in men is questionable, though.”

“No it’s not!” Stephen replied. “I always wanted to be with you.”

“As I said: questionable,” Anthony repeated.

“No!” Stephen said. “I love you.”

Someone, Christine probably, was screaming when Stephen opened the door.

“Guys what the fuck?!” Stephen asked.

“We’re trying to frost this cake and it’s not going well!” Christine shouted. “Kitchen!”

Still holding hands, the couple followed the sound of disgruntled amateur chefs (and Sasha fierce) to the suite’s small kitchen. Stephen couldn’t help but laugh at what he saw: Christine was manhandling a piping bag while Pepper spread frosting with a knife, and Wong was reading a cookbook and humming along to Beyoncé.

Anthony cleared his throat. “Hi guys!”

Pepper was the first to look up. “Oh my god Stephen! So you are dating Tony from my business class! I’m Pepper, by the way.”

“I thought you looked familiar!” Anthony said. “Nice to properly meet you, all of you.”

“Aww he’s sweet!” Wong said, changing the song. “Wong.”

Anthony politely introduced himself.

“Hey wait a minute, do you go by Tony or Anthony because we stalked your Instagram and couldn’t tell,” Christine said, ignoring Pepper telling her to not say that.

Anthony shrugged. “Either. Or you could call me ‘Ant’ too, I don’t really care. When I first met Stephen I only went by ‘Anthony,’ which is why he’s one of few people who calls me that, but I answer to most things.”

“When and where did you meet?” Wong asked. “And what, if I may be so bold, are your intentions with my roommate?”

“Stephen and I met on the first day of kindergarten, we’ve always been friends and have only been dating for a year and a half or so,” Anthony replied. “And you can keep grilling me if you want but you don’t have to, I promise to be good to him.”

“He already really is,” Stephen added.

Wong frowned in thought. “Hm. I had a whole dance number choreographed to ‘Don’t Hurt Yourself,’ but I don’t think that’s necessary.”

“Now you realize that?” Christine scoffed.

“I would probably pay five dollars to see that,” Stephen replied.

“I’m not doing it, I don’t feel the need to be that extra… for now,” Wong quipped.

Anthony breathed an exaggerated sigh of relief. “Well I’ll be able to get some sleep tonight then, I thought I was going to have to bribe you into liking me with Beyoncé tickets.”

“If you want to take me to a Beyoncé concert, I’m not going to say no!” Wong said. To Stephen, he added, “I might have to steal him from you!”

Okay this is gonna be long but I wanted to respond and put my 2 cents in about ur asks u got yesterday and discussion over bts recent music....okay so I read somehwere (I forget) that PTD was like their end to the trilogy thing of songs they were doing in that type of genre / English thing...Idk if that’s 100% true but it can give hope. Imo I actually liked butter and stuff PTD was just straight up bad but I liked butter and dynamite...is it their best work clearly not close but it wasn’t bad like PTD😭😭 also as I’ve been a fan for so fucking long (2015) I can say that for 2020-2021 bts KEEPS their success bc they’re such great perofmorers and bring it everytime despite the current music they’re releasing...(my opinion...) like I rememebr watching festa room live and being like holy shit they’re so good what the fuck and then realizing they were performing like all old b sides besides 2 songs😭😭 idk. To me they still perform and put on top level stages and that’s what keeps me interested and a fan to this day...also idk if you liked MOTS and persona but I liked both ...and BE was an okay album to me (not their best but come on KDKDKDKDKDKDD) also I think we as fans need to expect that every artist has their peak. Like there’s so many western rock /alt bands that I’m in love with their albums and then they release shit I don’t like after being together for like a decade and I just have to accept they reached their peak musically but am able to look back at their work they have done and still love them for what they did and released. Idk. I think bts can still bring it back musically as the time period of 2020-2021 isn’t that long in my opinion. Yes it’s been their worst year musically but it’s been like a year since dynamite so it hasn’t been THAT long. I think it feels like a long ass time tho so I get it....I’m giving them a lot of room and you obviously can disagree I’m just stating my opinion lol!! Cuz I do agree that PTD sucked and hybe is stupid...I mean take a look at what p dogg said a month ago when he said that it’s sad that bts songs are getting so incredibly short and the rap line can’t show their skills anymore to cater to the market and to check out their other music...(literally say that shit like word for word basically in a YouTube video....) like does this man (their long time producer) expressing these worries seirously have 0 say??? oh hmm i havent heard that about the trilogy but that certainly would be nice,, but then the coldplay collab is pretty much basically confirmed at this point and thatll probably be mostly if not all in english 🙄 and omg yes ur so right performing is definitely one of their biggest strong suits especially on tours whenever i go back and rewatch old concerts its just like theres no one else like them like theres lots of great performers in kpop but theres just something special about them altogether as a group!! and the thought and effort they put into end of the year stages always blows me away, but yea also smaller things like the festa room live are so nice,, they just work so well together on every level. but i do see what ur saying about them peaking cus yea i loved black swan and on and i could see how that would feel hard to top, but idk yea like i said in another ask they might just be tired and i think if they dont put out anything that great in the next year or two i feel like they might be able to get back together sometime after enlistement once theyve hopefully been a little ✨rejuvenated✨ and had time to rest n just live their lives for a bit (and bighit has hopefully moved on to txt and the new gg a bit more) and finally be able to to do something thats more them and just fits what they actually want to be doing at that point in their careers. but omg yea exactly what u said abt pdogg it kinda rly sucked to hear him say exactly what i was thinking in that vid and for His opinion to still not even have an effect on anything :( but also yea like you said and ive said in some other asks the pandemic has affected the music quality of a lot of groups/artists and theres always hope that things will get back to normal afterwards or maybe they really have peaked unfortunately theres no way to know we just have to wait n see ig :/

Seungwoo:

Truth to be told, you hate showing your weak side; to anyone, even to your boyfriend. Which was why when you had a sudden breakdown in the middle of the night, you tried to stifle your cries as much as you could. Yet Seungwoo's sharp hearing noticed something was wrong as he immediately got up from the bed and headed to the bathroom, knocking on the door intensely with a concerned tone, "Babe, you alright? I'm here to help"

It took quite some time for you to let him in, and as soon as you did he immediately fell to your side, his arms encircling your waist as he pushed your head to his shoulder, hands giving you small but steady pats. He'd remind you everything is alright, and would also try to get you to speak your mind out. Overall he'd be extremely comforting and loving (like he always is).

Seungyoun:

He was minding his own business when he heard your sniffles from inside the room. Confused but still concerned, he'd enter the room immediately, asking you if everything's alright. Yet he couldn't help but end up chuckling instead: at the sight of you huddled up in your blanket with your laptop sitting on your lap, sniffling and crying over the movie you were watching.

After seeing your pouty face he'd try to control his laughter, and fall into bed with you to cuddle you up, cooing "You're such a big baby.... and i love it". Prepared to be teased about this incident a lot though, he probably wont let it go easily.

Wooseok:

Noticing how you'd been a bit on the gloomy side for the past few days, he had sat you down and try to get you to talk it out, "If there's anything on your mind, tell me. I'm willing to listen.". Those words caused you to break down into tears immediately, as all the emotions you've been storing in the past few days came spilling out.

While holding and caressing the back of your hand, he'd listen attentively to all your worries, nodding from time to time. He'd mostly use physical touch (touching your hands, thighs, face) to comfort and calm you down. He'd always try to give as much as advice as possible, trying his best to assure you that everything would be alright in the end.

Yohan:

It'd take him a while to process everything: your endless sobbing and shortness of breath. The sight of you falling apart in front of him broke him, and internally he blamed himself for not being to help you. But externally he'd try to remain calm, his hands never leaving yours as he squeezes them tightly.

Be prepared for lots of hugs and kisses. I feel like he wouldn't say much, probably because he isn't too sure whether you'd want to talk about it, and because he believes that letting you cry all of it out before talking seems to be the best way. Nonetheless he'd still be as loving and caring as always.

Hangyul:

He had immediately rushed down to your house after your call, despite it being late in the middle of the night. He came prepared though, with your favourite drink and a pair of his sweaters (since he knows it's something that comforts you). With worry he'd engulf you in his arms with a tight hug, hands circling around your back.

Unlike his usual goofy self, he'd be serious and extremely caring, making sure that you're alright. He'd also be willing to stay with the whole of the night (and probably also the whole of the next day) because he wants to make sure you're completely okay before he leaves.

Junho:

As someone who always hides his emotions, he, out of everyone else, understands how you feel the most. And knowing you for long, he instinctively knows when you're feeling down or just need a good cry out. On days like these he'd be a little more goofy, always trying to lift up your mood.

He'd surprisingly be very calm when you start crying, with him staying by your side quietly and comforting you. He'd also be much more softer towards you, be it his tone of voice or the way he expresses himself.

Dongpyo:

With him around by your side, your days are hardly dull or gloomy. But of course, emotions can sometimes get the better of you and the next thing you know, you're balling your eyes out. I can see Dongpyo being extremely cuddly and affectionate on these days, be it always hugging you and giving you small pecks. He'd still be his usual bubbly self, trying to cheer you up.

Be prepared for him to take you on small little dates too, especially to your favourite places, all in hopes that you'd feel a tiny bit better.

Minhee:

He has always been a great listener: always listening attentively and giving you valuable advice. Like Junho, he'd be very calm if you were to start crying, making sure that he's there to help you if you need any, and to remind you that everything is alright.

As compared to his usual self, he'd be a little more touchy and affectionate, keeping you in his arms and often, patting your head.

Eunsang:

I feel like he'd be a mix between Wooseok and Yohan. As soon as he notices that you're not your usual self, he'd try to comfort you and ask you if everything is alright, trying to get you to speak. But when you start crying it'd send him into a slight panic mood at first as he'd be unsure of what to do.

But over time he'd continue giving you a comforting smile, getting you tissues or your favourite snacks; anything you need to make you feel better.

Hyeongjun:

Being the soft and understanding person he is, seeing you cry would most likely also bring tears to his own eyes. But of course, he'd try to control them as his main priority would be to comfort and cheer you up. He wouldn't say much, but instead will hold your hand or body tightly and repeat "It'll be alright".

He wouldn't force you to share your worries if you weren't comfortable, but would also remind you that anytime you're ready, he'd be willing to help anytime.

Dohyon:

Unfamiliar with these types of situations, it took him by surprise when he saw a tear falling from your eyes. He'd be in a slight panic mood, probably handing you tissues immediately and (awkwardly) patting your back. It'd probably also be silent between the both of you, with him thinking of what he can do to help.

"You wanna talk about it?" he'd try to ask you, and if he could, he'd also give you a few advice here and there. If not, he'd just try his best to comfort you by staying by your side.
