hellooo!

you know something that interests me so much, is how Jordan’s perspective is unreliable. Just by the nature of him having an edited pov makes him an unreliable narrator to the audience.

The best example I have of this is why capsize thought they were together. In his pov it comes out of left field, like it makes no sense that she would consider that. But if you go to Tom’s episode, you can see that she literally thinks that because Tom says in chat that him and Jordan are fucking. Like, honestly the comparison of Jordan’s “Girl Problems” ep and Tom’s 81st episode is the best example of that because it frames Capsizes character in a certain light depending on who you watch and because people will usually only watch Jordan’s (because it’s shorter) then it’s a bit of a one sided view.

And I bet you there are season 2 examples but I’d have to rewatch it from someone else’s perspective first before I give an example.

The unreliable narrator of Jordan's POV is really super interesting because actually like!! you could lore wise outside the meta of edited content ooc interpret it as an intentionally crafted story, where ye!! The whole bit about capsize thinkin thems boyos were together without the context of Tom's comment (which I gen only caught bc I paused Jordan's ep to read the chat when he opened it) makes her out to be a completely different person versus if ya saw it in Tom's POV- in the sense of her to Jordan trying to deflect away from a supposed truth versus her just obvs playin off what Tom was together and them zombiecaptains bein silly

In a way, if ya follow the headcanon from DSMP that chat is personified as an in-universe entity of sorts around the character (like Ranboo's ender particles, the voices of the Blood god to Techno, or Phil's crows); like Jordan got little sparkles floating around him only he can see/hear, the fact that we only see bits of his POV could be like him trying to appeal to them (aka them rampant shippers- show his dynamic with Capsize as they expect which is what leads to the inconsistency in her character) As he goes on he starts to learn to ignore them and just roll how he rolls

(in all honesty i like to abide by the headcanon that the whole "im in love w/ capsize" shenanigans was actually cJordan's dumbass way of deflecting off not wantin to admit he was in love with cTom and was egged on by chat but thats a ramble for another day LMAO)

Also!! thats so true too like I havent watched any other S2 POVs but we kinda actually see it in Isles a lil 👀 Ive been hoppin back n forth between Tom and Jordan's povs for fun during my watchthrough where while the edited v. uncut has been flipped, while you can see all of Tom and Karl's shenanigans uncut in Jord's POV, it still doesnt make any sense the motivations for stuff like him joining Team Ianite unless u can see those interactions he has privately with Dianite (who is also so two totally different people between the two povs). But whats interesting is how like Isle!Tom's kind of unreliable narrator is different in nature from S1!Jordan, where its like the intent between the kind of story either is trying to tell has different motivation behind it ig? ye :D ty for this brainrot btw note I Will put lore to everything and. yeah anyhoozers

What’s ur opinion on the treatment of Maia’s character on the show??

it was shit and antiblack and the sh writers can come fight me any day. i absolutely hated the way a lot of the time she was written as irrationally angry when actually she was RATIONALLY angry, and the fact that they made j*ia (both stances of it, actually) happen was a punch in the face to me

like maia was such a breath of fresh air for me because she was the ONLY one who was actually addressing what a racist piece of shit jace was, and calling him out and making no excuses or coddling him. it was so great and nice. and then they had her hook up with him, which means one of the two:

it was just pent up sexual frustration the whole time

the fact that he was hot overrode the fact that he was a racist piece of shit

both of those are fucking terrible and i can't even pick which is worse. first one implies that woc being mad at white men for their bullshit is really just them "wanting" said white men, which is a gross, racist, mysoginistic trope meant to shut them up when they complain about the shit they face. it is belittling, unfair, and dismissive to all the shit white men put them through, just like going all "you're so cute when you're angry" when someone is pointing out your shitty behavior is a condescending asshole move designed to make the other person's complaints seem like whiny spoiled child attitude, when they are not. it's fucking disrespectful and sh going with that trope is shitty as hell

and the second one basically implies that being racist is nbd. it's like, oh, they had their differences, but ~desire~. like sorry but no woc on their right mind would want to hook up with a racist white men who was deliberately being racist to them all the time, and even if they DID, taking that narrative choice is inherently different from a real life woc making that decision because it is supposed to convey a message. and the message i get from that is that being racist is alright as long as you're hot, or that racism is not going to be a dealbreaker for A BLACK WOMAN when it comes to attraction. or worse, that it was just banter

then we have the saia breakup which was every level of bullshit on the book. i'll never forgive the way the narrative basically villainized her for needing time and space after going through something traumatic because "simon needed her" or whatever, like simon doesn't have a lot of other friends who could support him, or like MAIA HERSELF didn't need support either. but of course a black woman wouldn't need support, she just needed to deal with everything on her own, but also fuck her for needing that because even that is not enough of not-a-nuisance to make her desirable. fuck u sh writers. and it was ooc and bullshit anyway because they wanted to make the sizzy bullshit happen

and THEN there is the jordan thing which is every level of the worst thing that's ever happened. jordan. was. abusive. i'm not even talking about the fact that he literally turned her against her will out of JEALOUSY, i'm talking about the fact that she explicitly said that he was controlling and jealous and had been stalking her. the fact that jordan didn't respect her no when she broke up with him and kept trying to force her to come back, making her uncomfortable and disrespecting her wishes, made him abusive, end of story. the fact that he then PUNISHED her for it by turning her makes him even worse

there is no world in which it is a good narrative choice to make someone go back to their abusive relationship for whatever reason, mUCH LESS A BLACK WOMAN, because black women are already told that they should endure any bad treatment they get x5981758931751. fuck sh for romanticizing a black woman not only forgiving but GETTING BACK WITH her abusive ex and never even addressing what made their relationship abusive and wrong and acting like the only problem was that he left her, and not the fact that he treated her (a black woman!!!) as property or as if she owed him affection. and their relationship was basically written as maia redeeming him and it's not anyone's job, ESPECIALLY NOT A BLACK WOMAN'S, to make people who treat them like shit a better person. it's just not

and also generally we never got to see maia being vulnerable or getting taken care of, it was always the other way around, which again, racist trope. when things got hard for her the writers just yeeted her, and then, as if that weren't bad enough, villainized her for going away and taking care for herself. her plotlines were never treated as important (then again, no one's but jace and clary's ever were). LUKE, A BLACK MAN, KEPT CHOOSING CLARY OVER HER. she was treated as evil, mean and irrational for having a realistic approach under which violence was sometimes necessary as a means of self defense (see: being willing to kill clary and then killing heidi. both were the correct choice. like, sorry) even though whenever she resorted to violence it was NEVER overly violent or without reason. they basically villainized her for fighting back racism, and that is so fucking shitty and ughh

i love her as a character and she owns all my uwus and she's never done anything wrong ever in her entire life but the sh writer's room (and cc because i know most if not all of the narrative choices i mentioned up there were directly taken from the books) can eat shit

[ michael b jordan, thirty two, male, he/him ] ━ hey, I just saw [ theo king ] walking down the streets of crownsville. they’ve lived in town for [ less than a month ], and you can catch them around town working as a [ barista ]. I hear they’re known to be [ resilient & charismatic ] and [ doubtful & untrusting ]. if asked, they would say their aesthetic would be [ muddy football boots, strong aftershave, gym gear, early morning runs ]. ━ [ ooc: rosie, 22, gmt, she/her ]

- Theodore ‘teddy’ King was born in Hunts Point, the Bronx to mother, Kelani and father, Jackson who split up when he was only a few years old. Like many kids growing up in Hunts Point, he saw way too much and often got closer than his parents would like to think to the realities of getting by, by whatever means. But his mother did a good job at keeping him on the straight and narrow, by keeping him in line and making sure he went to school and straight from school, to extra curriculars. When he wasn’t in school, Theo went to church with his mother and sang in the church choir, something he didn’t particularly enjoy but he knew better than to say no to his mother. Theo’s dad, a man some would say was quite the opposite to his church going ex-wife, was involved in the darker side of the neighbourhood and was a well known drug dealer within the area. Theo didn’t know this until he was older, of course, when he started to get to know his dad a little more and began to doubt whether the path his mother had taken him on was the better one.

- His mother would say that Theo managed to stay on her path until he was about 15, when the thrill and egotistical feeling of trying to run the streets just appealed to him too much. He saw friends die, he was part of a gang and well, Theo ended up doing what you’ve got to do to stay strong as a gang, things that his mother never knew about, until his parents evening came up at school that year. His mother asked to see his extra curricular teachers (she was extra af – but knew that it was too easy to get dragged up in shit where they lived and so she had to be) and see how he was doing, but only then did she find out that they didn’t know, because he hadn’t been going. She was LIVID. His mother banned him from leaving the house without her, she escorted him everywhere and things got even worse when she found out that her ex-husband had KNOWN about it. He’d just chosen not to tell her and hadn’t spoken to his son for months.

- This could’ve gone one of two ways, Theo could’ve lost his shit and become completely defiant or, he could’ve sorted out his shit and cut his ties with the streets and his gang where he could. One afternoon after class, his favourite teacher at school had asked him to stay behind. Theo worried that he’d done something wrong, or they’d found out some of the things that he had done (the teachers weren’t naïve to know that even the kids who turned up to school were still out doing dodgy shit when they weren’t in class) but he was wrong. His teacher just sat with him, talking to him about his life and where he’d been, something Theo began to relate to the more he told him. He’d been in a gang, before a youth worker in the area got through to him and convinced him to take a different path – not a boring one, but a better one. Did he want to waste his life on the type of pride that comes from having power as a result of fear?

- And so that was that. Conveniently enough, Theo’s mother ended up marrying this teacher (which they laugh about now), but Theo always said he’d be forever grateful for the two of them for steering him back to the path he was meant to tread. Theo was aiming big, from then on. He already knew he wanted to play football professionally, it was something he adored and could see himself doing forever, but he’d slacked off a little. He needed to get back to where he was and so, he had to study overtime. When his friends wanted him out, doing what they used to do, Theo had to say no, which was hard in itself when he knew what they were capable of. Luckily, there were only a few months left till the end of senior year and Theo knew that if he could get through them, he’d be out of the Bronx for at least 4 years – enough time for them to forget he ever left.

- And there it was. Laying on the doormat. A letter from Notre Dame, a scholarship to play football for them for a whole 4 years. So off he went. After a tearful goodbye from his mother and new step-dad, a non-existent goodbye to his father, Theo landed in Notre Dame and well, a new adventure began. He formed friendships, he drank, he danced, he did everything you’re supposed to do at college, like meeting a girl and falling in love during the last and arguably most important year of your college education.

- His best friend and room-mate, saw it all happen. He saw (and instigated) the two meeting and watched everything progress from then on. He was relegated from their room, went on double dates and well, pretty much fell in love alongside Theo. But what his best friend didn’t see, because Theo was so good at hiding it, was when things went wrong. He didn’t notice the girl becoming possessive, controlling, emotionally manipulative and then, physically violent. He didn’t notice that Theo had began to lie about where he was, what he was doing. He didn’t notice the bruises when Theo got changed before and after practice and if he did, Theo already had his lie made up – he’d gotten into a fight on a night out. His best friend didn’t see any of that, yet perhaps that would’ve saved Theo from the worst years of his life.

- Straight out of college, Theo moved in with this girl. He didn’t go back to the Bronx, he went to her hometown in Texas and there he was, alone. He’d isolated all of his friends, like his best friend from college and team mates from the football team and eventually, much to the girl’s satisfaction, he’d cut off his mother (this one took a while). He was completely and utterly alone with her, and his feelings. He took assault after assault after assault, emotional attack after emotional attack and became a shell of himself. Anxious, on edge… Theo wasn’t the charismatic guy he used to be. He was completely under control, accused of everything despite doing nothing and utterly depressed, unable to bring himself to do anything about his situation because he felt so worthless.

- This carried on for 2 years after Theo left college, until one day, his mother couldn’t take it any longer. She found his address and she turned up to their house and thankfully, the girl wasn’t home. But Theo was, and he was in one of the worst states he’d ever been in. He wouldn’t even answer the door at first, so his mother (being who she was) allowed herself in through the back door and well, she couldn’t believe what she had seen. Theo would tell you now, that he was shocked that a murder didn’t take place that night, but back then, he didn’t even know his mother had arrived. Theo’s mother hauled her son into her car with barely any of his belongings and drove as fast as she could back to their home, feeling furious, devastated and completely heartbroken.

- The next few months were a blur for Theo. He’d still tell you to this day that until he managed to see a tiny speck of light in his dark tunnel, everything that happened before is in pieces in his head. Of course, the girl still tried to contact him, as well as trying to turn up at his house, yet Theo’s dad came to the rescue with that when necessary. Not that Theo remembered that. Of course, his mother began to pursue a court case and after a rough year, mostly managed to get the result that they’d hoped for. Aggravated assault in the second degree, 10 years in prison. Sure, they’d hoped for more but with Theo’s being unable to recall a lot of the events that occurred due to a permanent brain injury that the girl had left him with, that was the best that they could get.

- Now, Theo lives in Crownsville and managed to get a job at a coffee shop called Cuppa Joe. His memory is not what it used to be after his brain injury and he often suffers with headaches and dizziness. Not to mention, his levels of frustration with himself and with others. He is never violent, as he knows the long lasting effects that violence can have, but people who are unaware of his past can often take his frustration the wrong way. His mother would say that you can see the old Theo in him occasionally, but she fears that the fully old Theo has been lost forever. He can still think for himself, he can still do the things an average person can, but he’s not the same as he used to be and as for football, the risk to his head is just too great. Nobody in Crownsville knows about Theo’s past and that’s the way Theo intends to keep it. He feels a lot of shame in relation to what happened to him and fears that men in particular, especially his old football team, would see him as weak and frail if they knew. He fears that women will see him as pathetic, especially people he is romantically involved with given the long term effects he has suffered in terms of his fertility.

- Basically, Theo has been on a hell of a ride. A ride he did not expect nor know how to get off. His life started off pretty alright and then went a little pear shaped and sadly now, he is paying the price of someone else’s actions, no matter how much jail time she has got. Not to mention the fact that he keeps receiving letters and phone calls from Texas County Jail. Theo knows that one day, he will be able to move on from what happened to him but he also knows that it won’t be a quick fix.

Hey guys, I’m Ally ( 21 / cst ) !! I’m really excited to be a part of this group, being such a fan of HP marriage law fanfics since way back when !! Without blabbering on too much let me get into telling you a bit about Aliyah !!

Born and breed in a purist, elitist, and chauvinist environment a lot of Aliyah’s childhood, and young adulthood was spent in struggling with her beliefs and values. Though on the surface a lot of the times she may have appeared like your typical pureblood slytherin, it was the guilt and confusion over the actions and behavior of herself and the people closest to her that set her down a path of redemption.

In her family, a sense of competition was always very prevalent among her siblings and cousins. Hailing from a very large family, one where her cousins were almost like a second set of siblings there was never a shortage of overly involved and judgmental people in her life. She was always trying to measure up to some ideal, because really all her life she was compared to one person or another.

At seventeen as per their families long standing tradition she was betrothed to a suitable pureblood wizard of equal stature. No choice was really given to her in the matter, all her life her choices had been limited and expectations many.

It wasn’t until she graduated from Hogwarts and took the decision to begin Auror Training that she realized how liberating it was to do things for herself and no one else.

It was this feeling of liberation that paved a path to self discovery and acceptance that it was okay for her to love her family but also dislike everything they stood for. And though this didn’t come to her suddenly, she was better off for it.

When Voldmort grew to power, her family was in full support of his cause, and soon almost all the people around her family, former classmates, and friends seemed to be a death eater or a supporter at the very least. It became as though she’d joined up without even agreeing to anything.

The more her uncertainty grew, the angrier her parents became with her because this was beyond simple liberties this was about everything their family had long since believed in, a mentality that was dozens of generations engraved into tradition.

It became quite clear to her that if she was to outright oppose Lord Voldemort, it may as well mean severing ties with them entirely. And that was no an option for her coming from a background and culture where family was so integral to ones life. So she remained docile, not the most active participant, but a witness. A fact that causes her great guilt to this day.

In the war she couldn’t lift her wand to harm anyone, that wasn’t a line she had crossed thus far or planned on crossing. So really the only option was to fight against what she found to be so wrong, a man so completely inhumane.

When all done, everyone had suffered, a lot of her family in Azkaban, some killed in battle, no one had come out unscathed. Her fiance among them. She hadn’t loved her soon to be husband the way that’s described in great romances, but she had grown used to him, affection had grown between them. She mourned him, but the lose of him didn’t break her, or leave her brokenhearted, and perhaps that in itself was quite sad. Seeing how much of her time she’d wasted on a relationship that may never have brought her true happiness.

Things have settled a bit in her life since the end of the war, she’d trying to navigate her relations with her family more thoughtfully, setting some much needed boundaries. Dealing with her guilt of the war, and trying to find a new normal in the ever changing society.

In all of this, the marriage law has definitely sent her on a spiral. Not knowing just how to feel about it. Technically she’d been prepared for an arranged marriage all her life, yet after the war everything had changed, it felt like she had a new handle on life yet that didn’t seem to be the case anymore. Giving u magic was out of the question so she’s going along with it, a part of her hoping this might be a joke after all, a crazy experiment that falls apart before it really goes anywhere.

Actually, to keep Roger on I would do some crazy shit and have it come out that he is not really the real Franco lmao. I mean we doing it for Jason & Drew. To keep Roger on I could do that…or I will murder him off like we did with Silas and bring him back has a cool character people like. Finn…I might have him go find Hayden and leave…or keep him on and hook him up with Nina cuz Michael and Michelle have chemistry. Valentin, you need to go!! He isn’t even a fun Cassadine to watch. I would kill him off or exit his character then bring back a cool ass Cassadine who actually acts like a Cassadine. Nina, ya got to go! Honestly, after Silas died idk why we kept her. Then your not even doing a cool SL with her and Nathan so why do I care??? I will just give her a baby and have her exit GH. Lulu, if she not going to act like Lulu then nah she not being on 24/7. Downgrade To Recurring: Sam, listen if the writers are not going to write her in character and I get this zen stupid Sam then yeah she getting downgraded. Also, Kelly can go on primetime like Billy. Carly, do I need to see her 24/7? Her story seems to be about her kids now so if that is all writers are giving her then maybe she can just be recurring like Laura. Griffin, if this boi is not going to be written good or given stuff he going to recurring. Jordan, like usually people complain about her and if your not giving her good sls then yeah she going on recurring. 

Contract: ALL NEW GENS (Michael, Kiki, Dillon, Morgan raise him back from life to get Ava out of this bs cuz I am tired of people bitching about it, Molly, Kristina, TJ, add few more maybe). Jason, Liz, Curtis, Drew, Lucky, Danny, Jake, Cam, Aidan, Dante, Spencer, Maxie, Ric, Alexis, who else is on this show???? XD

Storylines I Would Give Characters: 

- Michael: After this Nelle bullshit I would have Michael become very guarded and grey character. Have him actually earn the ELQ CEO title. 

- Kiki: I would follow Kiki more about her becoming a doctor and her and Dillon’s relationship more. Dillon gets too jealous of that doc who twist is not even creepy! The paranoia reminds Kiki of her toxic relationship with Morgan so she takes a break and befriends Michael again more. She and Michael are more good friends now even tho Kiki can tell Michael has changed. Michael and Kiki actually begin to get closer then BAM MORGAN IS ALIVE BITCHES BUT HE ACTUALLY GETS POV & STORY OUTSIDE OF KIKI & AVA!

-Liz: After Franco mess, I would have her see a psychiatrist and work out her issues. Then become an artist again, discovering the passion she lost. Also, have her have some more friends and hook up with Curtis or Drew or Ric. 

Sam: I would have Sam look in the mirror and discover who she is cuz she has lost herself over the years and just adapted to whatever to survive. 

Jake, Cam, Aidan, Spencer: I would age them up and have them get into shit.

Drew: I would have Drew keep going with Auroa business if that is what he wants to do and discover who is Drew Q. 

Jason: I would have Jason deal with the trauma he suffer and realize he can not just jump back into business with Sonny.

There are just a few but I have to think about it more. I think I am at a start though!

Changes: I would not just focus on the mob stuff I would split it up cuz people say they hate the mob stuff but who are the one praising GH rn cuz of the action with Jason Morgan, uh , the people who complained! I would try to respect history. I will be honest I haven’t seen every GH episode and I am catching up on old GH on yt but I would make sure I have a second hand who has all GH knowledge lol. I would try to make sure characters don’t act ooc. 

I would do my damn best to make sure this soap succeeds! ;D
