Hey random question but like if you had the chance would you scrap krakoa as an idea as a whole or try to make it work?
Hi anon! Despite how many "anti" posts I make about Krakoa I do in fact like it a lot; character's do feel very OOC, but it's something new and inspired and definitely feels like the most unique thing X-Men comics have had in about... oh, a decade or so? Like, I do get tired with all the "oh no, someone mass genocided us >:(" plotlines there are, or timeline fuckery, etc etc. Krakoa is a break from that and puts a new spin on things and allows us to see old characters brought back from Limbo, or reimagined into something completely knew. From a storyline perspective Krakoa is the best thing mutants have had in ages!
But, still, Krakoa does feel very like? textually... not good?? Like they literally murder children so they can "prove" themselves worthy of the mutation that was unjustly taken from them (even though that was SUPPOSED to be restored in AxV and again in Uncanny Avengers but I digress), they allowed a literal n*zi eugenicist and another fascist eugenicist to be on their government, and allowed the n*zi to make his own team, there's those n*zi incest twins that are just... allowed to fuck around, there's multiple r*pists & p*dophiles like Mastermind who are allowed because under Krakoa all previous laws have been forgiven, they banned pregonatives because they would ask too many questions, Exodus is reciting cult speak to a bunch of kids, and I mean, Hank McCoy literally commited genocide on Terra Verde.
Krakoa is interesting but it also very obviously is not a force for good in all this. Which, I have nothing against! I find the story Hickman is building very interesting and I look forward to see where it goes next. I just find it odd how people act as though this is supposed to be "empowering" or whatever. Like, they literally went to a "barren, dead, uninhabited" etc etc etc world and changed it so people can live there, and idk about you but I am of the opinion that just because nobody is living somewhere, that does not automatically make it free real estate, you know?
Anyway. Personally if I had a say, I would want all the data pages from HoxPox & in the more recent comics to link up more, and I would want to see more of those future mutants, and definitely more of the upcoming X-Men vs A.I. stuff we saw in HoxPox and again in X-Men #20. I am biased in this though, because I am hopeful this may end up including some of the Avengers A.I. crew, and maybe we'll get something from Hank Pym, who as we know has a lot to do with A.I., especially since he got merged with his. But, generally, I'm having fun with Krakoa thus far, it's just the unexplained changes in characters & fandom reaction that I get annoyed by lol

Calling out an M/s rp
Now for my callout posts against @devilskeyhq, warning others of their problematic behavior and educating the admin team so that they can learn to be better admins to their players. Remember while reading this that I have spoken with almost a dozen people about this at this point and they all say the same things, with screenshot evidence to prove it:
First things first, the tea. For those that don't want to read this whole thing, I'll summarize. DevilsKeyHQ is an M/s rp that allows non consensual activity in character and refuses to add a warning that people can see before they apply that lets them know. They were told that they were triggering their players that expected to be in a safe, sane, and consensual group but were subjected to mass rape and their response was to publicly humiliate everyone that had complained and allow their other players to rant about how wrong it was to complain and how upset everyone was to have to alter the group in order to keep everyone safe.
They bully people with autism both ic and ooc by treating their inquiries and commentary as stupid and using microaggressions to humiliate them and make them feel invalid.
They're stalking @thedaltonsanctuary because it's a real D/s roleplay that two of their previous players have had since 2017 and there's a real concerning level of paranoia being thrown out in order to slander them; the moment that TDS started to take off, they decided there wasn't room in the tags for two groups and they kicked them out of DK without warning or anything happening other than TDS getting a bunch of apps, and started trying to bully the group and the players completely out of the roleplay community. There are still players in DK that are too afraid to leave right away because they don't want to be stalked, harassed, and bullied because of the fact that they were made to feel uncomfortable and unsafe. Some of them plan on leaving roleplay entirely as soon as it’s safe to leave DK without being noticed or being obvious about not agreeing with the admins.
My opinion on the matter is that two people very unfortunately chose to "give themselves a break" from admining their own groups and got to know people in a group that is headed by very toxic admins and a couple of toxic players as well. They were kind enough to try to take care of other people, even though they didn't have to and knew that they were probably going to get kicked out for telling the admins that people weren't comfortable. They were warned by the friends that had been in the group that they were almost definitely going to be either bullied out or immediately removed. The admins didn't like that there was someone else that was more knowledgeable on D/s and they didn't like that there was someone who was looking out for the safety of the whole group instead of putting the admins and their friends first. And the real tipping point was watching another roleplay flourish-- by the same people that had already proven themselves to be more knowledgeable and better at being admins. Now they're trying to slander this group in an attempt to become the only smut group in the tags and it's honestly so very middle school and everything I'm about to go through disgusts me to my core.
Before I begin, I’d like to remind everyone that none of this would have happened if people weren’t triggered by M/s content dominating what was supposed to be a D/s rp without any warning about the content. I’d also like to remind everyone that when this problem was brought to the admin team, it was as easy as accepting that they may have done something wrong and deciding to either end all M/s activity (which some people seemed to not want) or label their main with a warning so that nobody else was triggered by that surprised. If you’re looking for a TLDR on how this should have been handled, that’s it right there. There is no reason at all for any of what I’m about to say to have happened.
I'll start with the easiest thing to explain; the bullying of people with autism. I'll explain quickly here that people that are neurotypical do not think in the same ways that people who aren't. This causes an uncomfortable rift in communication that when not addressed properly, can become bullying. @disabilityrph is going to be posting a guide very soon on how to spot and avoid bullying people because of their autism, as has definitely happened in this case. So I won’t go into too much detail, but I will give you an example.
EXAMPLE: If you as an admin write out an event post explaining what it going on in the roleplay, there is never an example in which it is okay to passive aggressively dictate the thought that any question given is a stupid question.
HOW THAT WORKS: If someone asks, "Will this be involved?" the proper reply is never going to be, "Why would that be involved? It doesn't make sense that it would be." Just because you find the answer to the question obvious, does not mean that everyone does, especially someone with autism. The proper reply is a simple answer; yes or no, and if you feel like it might be necessary you can add why that is the answer. As an admin, you never want to make any one feel humiliated for asking a question in order to fully understand your group. There is never a stupid question. All questions are valid. You have to remember that not everyone thinks in the same way that you do, some people will have questions that you didn’t consider. Some people will read what you wrote and have questions that you think the answers to are obvious, but clearly they’re not if someone is asking! Nobody should ever get a sarcastic or passive aggressive answer from an admin.
After speaking with multiple autistic players within the grpc, as well as players within DevilsKey itself, I have been told that this happens a lot. They will ask questions ooc and people will reply as if they are stupid for asking. When they bring up thoughts in character that other people don't agree with, they get treated like they're stupid again. I've been shown screenshots of this happening to people in DevilsKeyHQ with my own eyes. This is a damned shame.
The next topic is the fact that their roleplay is obviously a Master/slave roleplay because of the fact that a large group of people were raped by the NPCs that the admins have created. I saw that there was ooc warning that a punishment was coming, but the simple fact is that nobody would ever expect rape to be involved in a D/s punishment. Nobody would expect anything that left lasting damage, because punishments are not meant to be traumatic in D/s. A punishment is meant to better a person, they should walk away feeling as though they have learned a lesson and worked through anything that they had to feel bad for. If there is any power play that is being used to traumatize people or make them do literally anything at all that is against their will, that is M/s and not D/s. The distinction is important because people use D/s as a means of therapy, to get over their trauma. Someone who was raped, for example, might become a submissive so that they can work through their trauma under the guidance of a Dominant and if that Dominant chose to rape them as a punishment because they weren't fitting their role well enough? That would be abuse, that is not D/s. BDSM holds RACK and the concept of safe, sane, and consensual above all else.
Asking for that distinction to be made clearly is completely within a person's rights here on Tumblr. It's a smart thing to do, and any admin that cared at all about creating a safe space for their group would never do anything like that. They would take their problematic behavior into account and properly label the main Tumblr blog for their roleplay. I read through it, it does not at all sound like the roleplay that I have screenshots of in my inbox. You do not rape someone anally for hours and hours against their will in a roleplay where the words "safe, sane, and consensual" are written on the main. That's just common sense and decency.
The players that were kicked out are not the only ones that I have spoken with and they are not the only ones that were uncomfortable. They're also not the only people that will be leaving the group because of this.
The sequence of events for how this roleplay came to my attention are as follows:
Two roleplayers were writing with multiple members of DevilsKey and chose to join the group at the request of their friends. They created characters that had family connections to their friends, and wrote their bios with their friends, and their friends had all been in the group for months at that point. This was not a calculated plan, this was an attempt to roleplay in the roleplay community. They joined the ooc discord server before their apps were accepted in order to get a better understanding of the roleplay, but all of the roleplay was hidden and nothing that was shown gave them any indication that it was an M/s rp. These two players brought in original characters and immediately made various connections with other players within the roleplay. They were more active than the admin's own characters, if you ask for my opinion on it. That proves that they were interested in making connections with DevilsKey, they put the effort in to make them.
Then the punishment was warned. I read this warning. Nowhere did it say anything that would in any way warn about the content of the punishments. It is specifically stated that they are focusing on D/s so it should be a normal D/s punishment. Instead, when the plot dropped, a large group of characters were stripped and dragged to cells where they were denied food and tortured for an entire week. These characters were raped and humiliated, abused and broken in ways that defy every covenant of the D/s and BDSM handbook.
From day one, people were triggered. I have screenshots of DMs that go back that far. But the player that was being complained to was also told not to go to the admins for the first few days, because the people who were upset were afraid that the admins would bully them and kick them out for "complaining." Days were spent with these people being triggered by the rape that was being forced in front of their eyes. They stayed in the group for the same reason that anyone stays in an abusive relationship; you can't let go of the "good things." They had spent months in this group, getting to know these players ooc and developing their muses ic. They were attached, especially considering the lack of groups in the tags and the lack of involvement in the grpc.
But enough became enough eventually. When people started to realize that they were triggered and that they were not feeling any better, they weren't sleeping, they didn't want to eat, and the punishment was coming to a close but they were beginning to realize that even though the plot was about to be over, it wasn't over. Their characters all had lasting damage, some just mental but most physical as well. The damage was done. Even if they managed to drag their characters out of the depressing hole they were in, they had to fear this happening again. They didn't sign up for an M/s rp. They didn't sign up for rape. They didn't sign up for trauma. So they hadn't expected it. And nobody gets to decide that a person’s feelings aren’t valid because it took them time to be comfortable having them relayed.
The player that is suddenly being accused of being "far too close to his Dominant character" went to the admin as a fellow admin. He explained that he had previous admin experience, so he understood their position. He explained that he had real world experience in the D/s community, so he understood what he was talking about based on his own experience and that of the community he spends time in every day, and had a serious concern for the wellbeing of the writers in the group. He told them that he didn't want to start trouble, that he wanted everyone to remain calm and that he didn't want anyone to be anxious. When he got busy and had to table the conversation for real life, he even told the admin that he wasn't silent because of them. He was very gentle. He explained the difference between M/s and D/s and he explained why it is important to properly label groups. He was asked a series of questions that made it look like his concern was being taken seriously, and then it was completely not taken seriously in the group chat.
The reason players had asked one person to go to the admins was because they were too afraid to, they were intimidated and they did not want to deal with any negative blowback they'd get for being upset. The admins proved their concern to be founded when they not only posted about everything that had been said in the ooc, they allowed other players to basically humiliate the people who complained by saying they didn't agree, so nobody could be upset, and in fact they were the ones who were greatly upset and the people who complained should feel guilty about it because now it changes the whole entire plot of the entire group for them and they don't get to finish adding more traumatic plots to the event. One of the admins even joined in to talk about how mad they were that people weren't comfortable enough with them to talk to them? And explained that they had admin issues in the past too, but despite how anyone might be feeling or what makes them most comfortable... it's a slight against the admins and they've been hurt.
I don't think I need to explain why that is wrong. No admin should allow their players to speak like that in the ooc chat. No admin should air that much dirt in public either; it would have sufficed to say, "After further consideration, we have decided that there might be a few issues with this plot drop and we are here to let you know that it's being dropped. The past still happened, but no further punishments will be doled out and we are considering a new way of dealing with punishment plots in the further." As an admin, it is your job to keep your players safe, and you really dropped the ball there. Not only did you let your players publicly humiliate people, leaving more than one of your players going to bed crying and thinking that they were going to wake up to the entire group hating them and/or their role being removed, but one of the admins added to it themselves and made people feel like now they really couldn't go to the admins. Who would go to someone who does not keep them safe? Who airs their complaints so everyone can boo at them on a public forum? Who shames and guilts them for being anxious? Especially when their concerns weren't really addressed and they were told they were wrong? The plot was ended, but it was made clear that it wasn't because the admins wanted to continue in a way that was safe for all of their players or to find a way to stay in D/s territory and out of M/s non con.
Both players that were removed stepped in the ooc chat to say that it would be better to be mindful of everyone's feelings, and that it wasn't really kind to invalidate all of the people that had complained. It was explained that if things had been properly labeled, this wouldn't have been an issue, because anyone who doesn't want to associate with non consensual activity would avoid it. Many players chimed in to agree with both sentiments.
That situation was taken care of in a poor way, but it was handled and it was ended. The players that were removed were not triggered or affected by M/s material. One of them was upset about the fact that their character was only punished once, in fact, while all of the admin's own characters had been punished three or four times and kept being pulled up to either get hurt or hurt other people. By force. In a D/s rp, let me remind you. But the fact that the players weren't kicked out then proves that this had nothing to do with their removal. It would be pretty shitty if it did, because for an admin to kick someone out for telling them that they had players triggered for days and feeling upset and then turn around and scream and wonder why nobody wants to bring any of their concerns to them is a level of denial I'm not ready to accept myself. Both players continued to plot ooc and they continued to write with multiple people. They were still talking to everyone that had been triggered, keeping tabs on them, making sure they felt alright. The admins were not doing anything to make sure their players were alright, despite knowing that they weren't.
Before they joined DevilsKeyHQ, both players had been talking to several other roleplayers about their previous Tumblr roleplays. They started a sfw au roleplay group a few months ago and had been talking to friends about previous group plots and new ideas to see if they wanted to work together to either bring an old group back to life or start a new one. TheDaltonSanctuary was open years ago and has not changed since it was originally opened, aside from the addition of a second admin. Multiple people from DevilsKeyHQ had been in TDS previously, when it opened the first time. That particular admin has at least 30 groups between discord and Tumblr. The one that their friends chose-- and I have screenshots of this too-- to encourage them to open was TDS. They opened for acceptances on the 18th. They joined DevilsKeyHQ on the 24th. The fact that the admins of DK want to try to say that TDS is in any way a copy of them or a threat to them when they are two entirely different roleplays and TDS was made years and years ago is all the proof that I need that the admins of DK are just petty, immature, and can’t handle not feeling as though they are the only and best option; but of course, there’s plenty of proof of that, in my opinion.
There have been allegations that they stole NPS from DevilsKey, but a quick look at the main proves that to be false. There are no OC NPC characters in TDS. It was also stated in the ooc discord server after they were removed from DK that the admins were upset and angry because one of the players had brought their OC Sterling twin to their own rp. Anyone is allowed to birth a muse and then decide that they like them so much that they want to see them in an au setting. The character that the other player brought to DK was an OC from his own group and he said so multiple times and nobody accused him of stealing from his own group? But the admins believe they own an OC because it was born in their group.
Their official announcement for why these two were removed stated that they had:
taken an OC from DK to TDS and therefore they needed to be removed in order to "keep DK's plot safe" (but DK is completely unusable for an actual D/s rp)
clearly only joined DK to try to poach players for TDS (though they never once said a word about their rps to anyone, and wouldn't even say which plots were still active, which were groups, or which were 1x1s when talking ooc about what they've written before)
and finally for their "little outburst in the ooc group chat" in which they said that it wasn't kind to invalidate people who had been courageous enough to finally (after days of being unable to) asked for the admins to be informed that they were triggered
It's already been stated that TheDaltonSanctuary and DevilsKeyHQ have two entirely different plots. TDS is a safe environment where there is BDSM info in the ooc server and characters are placed in a sort of rehab and recreational environment that is geared towards mental health, education, and finding and maintaining a healthy claim. DevilsKeyHQ is one of those sex island groups, there have been thousands in the tags where the plot is always the same; people are taken to a sex island and have to live by M/s rules or they'll be punished with penetrative rape via multiple orifices.
With no reason to get rid of the players that knew more than they did, looked out better for their players, and now were thriving in a real D/s group... the admins kicked them out and made stuff up. If they were being removed for asking that the admins consider the safety of their players, it would have happened when it happened. If they were being removed for stealing from DK to put things in TDS, they would have kicked them out back then too-- because it was known that they had TDS for a long time before. They were only kicked out of the group when TDS started to gain traction and one of the admins brought their OC in and one of the players that had applied to TDS before the admins joined DK brought an OC from DK too. So it's clear that jealousy has fueled this entire debacle and it was so easy to solve.

I am not in Hollywood or in the entertainment world but what I have observed from a distance is that everything is all about the money and Anything goes. But the fact that Jared was able to draw the line with AKF and not allow CW to exploit it it's a testament that he has principles that he would not compromise not matter the monetary rewards. I say kuddos to him at least he has been able to maintain that part of himself while in Hollywood.
Of course everything is about money. 90% of the “creative differences” is just another word for salary or budget dispute.
Alrighty, in honor of AKF, here’s a blast from past. The year is 2016 and the YANA campaign is launched and this is what fans saw: no messages on what the campaign is about but here is a video of Misha is making Jensen soooooo uncomfortable and haha Misha is stalking Jensen in the bathroom because when it comes to mental illness stalking people and making them uncomfortable is totally helpful!
Fandom reaction: WTF? WTF? No, really, WTF? Burn it down!
But before I get more into that, let’s back up 11 months:
03/15/2015 - Jared’s unprecedented success with AKF. WB sees Ka-Ching! And Jared is no, no Ka-Ching, AKF is near and dear to mah heart.
05/15/2015 - Jared breaks down and goes dark for 3 weeks and somebody (understudy Misha? Stand? Creation Ent? CW? Singer?) starts planning to take over Jared’s AKF brand. Ka-Ching!
06/29/2015 - Creation Entertainment’s Gary and Adam registered the Creation Stands LLC
08/16/2015 - Jensen and Misha “wins” TCA for best chemistry (my lol sides!) and they tweet their boat ride (me: it’s like you’re not even trying to look ignorant).
10/16/2015 - Creation Ent advertises the upcoming Chicago con with Jensen and Misha and the AKF tagline in their main banner. Fandom’s outrage forced them to take down the Jensen/Misha banner and replaced it with a Jared/Jensen banner three days later. CE and WB should have been clued in with this.
01/06/2016 - Jensen wins the PCA (me: another brought award?) and Misha just happen to be available on set for Jensen to make a thank you video with (me: riiiiiiight, just a coincidence)
02/11/2016 - Jensen and Misha launch the YANA campaign with series of videos filmed on SPN set and lines written by SPN writers. CE and WB are anticipating pocketing at least half million dollars in net profit. Ka-Ching!
Show of hands of those who saw this trainwreck coming a hundred miles away. Misha’s Variey interview said in he wanted to take YANA into many different fandoms, meaning WB behind the idea to suck in more money from fans though mental health merchandise. I’ll wait here while you go take a shower. YANA was obviously a piss poor hollow copy of AKF without genuine sincerity, but that might have been forgiven if Creation Ent wasn’t so obvious about lining it’s own pocket with a majority of the net profit and giving a measly 10% to charity.
Meanwhile, where was Jared in all of this? Let’s have a look:
05/15/2015 - Jared returns to the United States and starts treatment. New medication? New therapist? Who knows but something has to change.
06/06/2015 - Jared participates in a Gilmore Girl reunion panel. TWLOHA mentioned the $250,000 check they got from Jared. WB is thinking all that Ka-Ching could have been theirs.
07/13/2015 - Fans surprised Jared at Comic con with tealight vigil.
07/19/2015 - AKF 3.0 is launched with a last minute tealight design added to the shirts, 40K units sold
08/16/2015 - Jared wins the TCA in acting category (me: eh, it’s probably genuine, he’s been nominated 7 times before and he got bunch of positive mainstream press)
10/16/2015 - the infamous faux pas by Creation Ent advertising the upcoming Chicago con. While the fandom is starting to realize something is very off and noticing Jensen’s OOC behavior, Jared already knew about YANA being in the works from Jensen.
11/04/2015 - AKF 4.0 + Minute Maid commercial featuring Jared and his family. His first national corporate sponsorship. 46 K including Black Friday special units sold
02/11/2016 - Jared announced he is returning to Gilmore Girls, the news quickly become the #1 Facebook trending topic, which led to tsunami of media attention. None of Rory’s other boyfriends got this much attention for returning to the show. Oh and btw Jensen and Misha launched YANA. Did Jared hold on to news of his return to GG until the day YANA is launched? Of course he did.
02/14/2016 - Jared debuts his McDonald all-day breakfast commerical, gets the highest views and likes on McD’s Facebook. Oh and Jensen and Misha posted a new YANA video in their Facebooks.
02/29/2016 - Jared post his third national corporate sponsor commerical from Chevy, featuring his childhood friend, gets the highest views and likes on Chevy’s YT channel. Oh and Jensen and Misha posted a new YANA video wrapping up the campaign barely making the 40K mark after promising a Hawaii vacation to sweeten the deal. WB and CE will have to settle for pocketing $200K (instead of the projected half million)
Jared’s personal brand is Always Keep Fighting so he fought WB from using it in the show and making $$ of it. Then he went further and timed the release his GG news and commercials on the same day as those stupid YANA videos. Jared did what the Ackles Army always feared he would do; completely overshadowed Jensen and Misha. YANA never got the fraction of the mainstream media attention and fandom acceptance that AKF got. Well played, Jared. Well played.

SKY’S BIAS LIST.
hiya! so, i don’t know how common these bias lists are anymore, but it’s been quite awhile since i’ve done one. (probably since 2016?? damn.) but i have a lot of amazing people that i follow, and i feel like you all deserve a little recognition. now, one thing that i enjoy doing with these bias lists is to not only point out the blogs i love, but to tell you all why i do. i feel like it makes these bad boys a little more personal, and can hopefully bring a little brightness to someone’s day. so, without further ado, here’s the list: (in no particular order; i’m just going through my following list) // under a cut for length. apologies in advance for typos.
@fromlandtosea / @longthoughtlost --- RIN. there’s so much i could write here. you’ve been my friend for so long, and have put up with all of my nonsense for so long. i adore laura and every other muse that you write. you bring such a different life and voice to each of your characters, and i admire your ability to come up with unique and intertwined backstories for them. i will always love all of the threads, verses, and headcanons we’ve come up with together. you have absolutely made my time in the fallout community worthwhile, and i feel so very fortunate to call you my friend. (and also that you only show slight disappointment in all the stupid stuff that i do and tell you about lol) ♥
@betterhealing / @sanguinariis / @psychotheory --- i love every character that you write. you’ve been willing to write with me on all of my blogs pretty much since the day i joined the fallout rpc, and your consistent support has meant the world to me. you clearly put a lot of time, thought, and effort into your characters, and it shows in their multitude of well-developed verses, relationships, and headcanons.
@iinxsearchofxisolde --- we haven’t had the chance to interact much, but you and tristan are always a joy to have on my dash. i think that your choice to write a brotherhood outcast is extremely unique and interesting. they’re a faction that was kind of lost in the fray, and i love seeing your headcanons about them and how tristan fits in. he’s also a very intriguing, multi-facted character with a distinct voice, and it’s been great to watch you develop him over the past few years.
@disciplc --- lainey !!! we haven’t been friends for very long, but i am so glad we are. i adore all of our discussions about nisha and el, and i appreciate how supportive and kind you always are towards me. i’ve followed your nisha for a long time . . . technically . . . and i’ve always loved how you write her! hell, i always appreciate people stealing side characters from bethesda and making them their own, and you’ve truly done that with her. she’s a perfect mix of danger and softness (emphasis on the danger ;-0).
@pinkmanipulated / @hydrophobiic --- victoria, oh my god, we have written together for what feels like ages, and your writing, art, and dedication to your muses never ceases to amaze me. i’ve already mentioned this, but seeing how you write jesse has made me actually want to watch breaking bad, which is something i thought i’d never say. (and i promise i’ll get to giving it a go eventually ;w;) i can tell how much you care about his character and how much effort you’ve put into your characterization, and i love every bit of it. it’s the same amount of pride and dedication you’ve put into all of your muses, canon or oc, and you know for a fact that i’ll follow and interact with you on whatever blog you choose to write on.
@fictitioussouls --- not gonna lie, i enjoy every character you write, original or canon. i’m so glad to see you back and active on the dash again, and that you still have the same love for all of your muses + a bunch of new ones. :’)) you create such unique and detailed backstories for your original characters (emily, diana, and sophia still have my whole heart tbh), and you keep them very consistent. i also enjoy reading the threads you have with rin, and hearing about the headcanons and worlds you guys have built together! overall, i’m very happy to see you on my dash again.
@america-redefined --- eliana might hate having enclave blogs on the dash, but i sure don’t! :’) we haven’t interacted (yet), but i’d definitely love to. i think you do an excellent job writing nathan, and capturing the attitude and aura of the enclave with the way you’ve created him. it’s clear that he has a lot going on beneath the surface, and that you’ve put thought into what kind of character you want him to be. i really like the way you’ve brought him into the fallout 4 timeline, too, and how his life changes once he’s no longer with the enclave. (i was scrolling through your blog the other day, and saw the post about all of his goals in the enclave, and then how those all disappear within the institute and might have chuckled a bit at the “mighty have fallen” trope vibes that gave me)
@adxmortem --- the amount of development you’ve done for harlan is just wild to me, i’ve got to be honest. you’ve taken him in his very own, unique direction, and i really admire that! (and it also reminds me that we really need a new orleans based fallout, stat.) he has a very strong voice, and you have an incredible grasp on his character. i’ve enjoyed the threads we’ve done together, and i hope we get to write more in the future! i also very much appreciate you for the immense kindness you’ve shown me in the past when it comes to my personal life. that will always mean the world to me. ♥
@gwinnetts --- oh gosh, you are such a fun and prominent addition to my dash! the funny content and interactions you bring to the dash aside, i’m in awe of the amazingly detailed write-ups you post about your muses as well as the fallout lore. like a lot of the people on this list, you are someone who puts in a lot of thought to your muses, and really brings them to life in a distinct manner. i’ve also greatly enjoyed the ooc chats we’ve had!!
@shellheadtm --- we haven’t had many chances to interact, but i think your portrayal of tony is top notch. you capture his voice perfectly, and like gwinnetts above, always bring funny conversations / interactions to the dash, and i think that just makes it a brighter place for everyone! you’re an insanely talented writer, and your expansion of tony’s characterization and verses is fantastic.
@primeacumen --- viv is one of those really amazing, multi-faceted ocs that i would highly recommend anybody follows. we haven’t interacted a ton (mostly because i’m slower than molasses), but, from what i’ve seen of her, she’s wonderful. fandomless ocs often don’t get the love they deserve, so i want you to know that i see you and viv, and i am here supporting you 100%. people take for granted the amount of work that goes into building an oc for multiple verses, and it’s obvious you’ve done that work for her.
@not-completely-human --- i honestly knew nothing about alita when i first followed your blog; i just knew that you were a friendly and lovely person who i was willing to write with, and so here i am! i enjoy all of our threads together (and i will def enjoy the ones that my slow self needs to write starters for lol). i enjoy how you write alita, and the enthusiasm that you have for her. your writing has a nice flow, is easy to read, and i love all the little details and background you fit into it. and, you, of course, are such a nice person to talk to, and i’m very glad we follow each other!
@remnantrecruit --- another enclave oc for eliana to despise and me to love! we haven’t written together in awhile (which we should totally try and change soon :’0), but i enjoy seeing abner on my dashboard as much as i did when we first followed each other! enclave ocs are so rare as it is, but abner really stands out as a character even without that. his background is so sad but good. i also just appreciate your interaction with my posts, irl and character related. (your comment on my post when i was anxious about doing something dumb when i was driving still means a lot to me. it’s always nice to be reminded that we’re all human and capable of doing stupid things with two ton moving contraptions.)
@persistentflower --- what is there to say except i love violet ,,,, neutral karma lone wanderers are pretty rare in my experience, and i think you do a good job of capturing what it means for violet to be that. she and eliana contrast well, and i love their relationship, and how they support each other, no matter what verse we write in. (and the fact that we’ve essentially created a mini self-contained verse for our muses). i enjoy our chats ooc, too, and i look forward to us writing and interacting more !!
@miss-moreno --- we haven’t gotten to flesh out kay and eliana’s friendship, yet, but i see so much potential for them in what we’ve got going so far. kay has the sort of spirit that eliana loves, and i’m so excited to see where our threads take the two of them! in general, i like how you write kay, and how her life pre-war seems to haunt her quite a bit, and also how she knows she’s playing double agent for the railroad pretty early on.
@ninesis --- i’ve seen quite a few portrayals of rk900, but yours is definitely one of my favorites! i like that your nines is very job-oriented, but still soft and sociable and overall just a Good Boy. he comes across as very likeable, and you write him as a consistent and well thought out portrayal!
@intelligentmiinds --- i love all of your blogs, but since this is your main atm, this is where you’re getting love. :’)) bailey, i enjoy each of your characterizations. you bring a unique and accurate voice to each one. based on what i’ve seen from your ooc posts lately, i know you’ve been going through some rough times, and i hope you know that you are so important ! and loved ! and even if people are shitty and don’t understand you, you always have people who care about you, too. (and i hope you can get your ferret soon! small animals are the best. i have two bunnies and can vouch for them. :’)) )
@contrariian --- i have been lucky enough to interact with two of your muses so far, but you should know that i adore what i’ve seen of all your muses. you write such a wide array of characters, and each of them has a personality that comes across in how you write them. your writing style is so gorgeous and nice to read, too. 10/10 would interact whenever
@vocaliist --- i followed you on your previous blog for magnolia and the one you had for des, and what continues to knock me off my feet about all of your blogs is your style. i always admire people who can write in a way that is somewhat poetic and very pretty without making it impossible to understand, and you do just that. plus, who doesn’t love magnolia?? i look forward to writing with you some more!
@synthesan --- i’ve already jumped into your ims to yell about how cute ode is, but here i am again, anyway. we haven’t followed each other for long, but gosh i love what i’ve read from you and ode so far. i’m a sucker for synth ocs, and she’s such a fun one with an amazing backstory. you are also so great to talk to ooc, and i hope we can yell about our muses and videogames more in the future :’))
@synthmama --- okay, i can’t lie, your blog is one of those that i admired from afar for a long time because i was a bit intimidated by it. not in a bad way, but in a ‘holy cow this person is an amazing writer and creator’ kinda way. you and quinn have been around for a long time, and you’ve grown her character a lot in that span. it’s so cool to see how you fit her into other universes, and how she interacts with the fallout world. institute sole survivors are also very seldom seen around here, and so i appreciate that quinn took that route, and that you had her do it in a way that doesn’t entirely conflict with her morals.
@neomacaught --- you are absolutely one of the sweetest muns i’ve ever interacted with, tbh. your enthusiasm for threads and the wellbeing of your fellow roleplayers is such a lovely thing to see on my dash!! and neoma is such a cute character. i think she and el’s interactions have just been incredible. i like that she’s a bit awkward, yet very straight-forward, and that she upholds high morals. she fits in with el pretty damn well, and i think they’ll be very good friends!! plus, i can tell that you’ve put a lot of work into neoma purely by taking a peek at your blog; you have so many verses and ideas for her. she definitely deserves a lot of love
@voiceofmany --- we haven’t followed each other for very long (or interacted, which is my bad for being slow to talk to people about threads lol), but i wanted to mention you on here, regardless. i honestly am not familiar with a whole lot of your muses, but the way you right them, and your writing style, tends to draw my eye so much that i often find myself reading through your threads as i scroll the dash. the way you change dialogue to fit your characters is pretty damn great, and it’s always obvious you’re writing for/in a different voice for each of them
@theirsalvation --- we also haven’t followed each other for very long, but i enjoy the content that i see from your blog!! you have a wide range of muses that all come across as very different and distinct in the way that they’re written. when i read your reply from josh this morning, i was awed by how well you captured his voice and mannerisms, tbh. so, yeah, i hope we can interact a bit more sometime soon!! B)

OKAY SO I've just spent the best part of an hour scrolling through your blog and reading a bunch of your destiel meta and I HAD to message you... I was one of the many people who STRONGLY believed destiel had a chance of being canon after season 8 (more like season gr8 am i right), but throughout the years I slowly lost all hope. However, S14 has made me 110% invested in the show again and YOUR META IS GIVING ME HOPE FOR DESTIEL, which is TERRIFYING. Your writing is wonderful and I'm STRESSED.
Got back from Washington late last night!
Oh my gosh @alovelikecas, your message really made my day and I’m SO glad you enjoy my meta xox (even when most of my meta looks like, to me, sloppy-ass writing, haha! I’ll probably make an end-season meta post after 14x20 — if I have the time — that touches upon SPN’s current and repeating themes since Season New Beginnings S12/Dabb Era, not to mention I have, like, some more unfinished meta in my drafts >.>)
Yeah I mean, I didn’t join Destiel land until Summer 2016, and before that, I was late to the Season 11 party, so I basically had no narrative context for anything, and I’ll copy-paste what I said here:
Looking back, one significant thing I recall? S11 gave me a sense of Destiel’s true narrative validity (as not a ‘fanon’ ship but organically developed in the canon) when I perceived it as a season that was ‘missing something’. Keep in mind I had no idea about Destiel yet while watching S11 at the time.
I was literally asking myself — repeatedly — why Dean/Amara seemed to contain odd narrative holes, considering A. Dean explicitly said that the non-consensual attraction he felt for Amara was NOT love and “it scares him”, B. Amara told Dean that ‘something stops you - keeps you from having it all’, C. Djinn!Amara stated that she can: ‘feel the love [Dean] feels, except it’s cloaked in shame,’ and D. Mildred’s iconic ‘You’re pining for someone’ —> which did not logically correlate with A and C, meaning: since Dean doesn’t freely love Amara and thus isn’t possibly pining for her — with female love interests as currently non-existent (I remember crossing off the dead/gone girls on a piece of paper lol) — who the hell was he pining for, then?

Obviously, without writing long-ass paragraphs of meta about it again in this post, S11 made sense as soon as I watched it within the Destiel context (especially after I read up on some grandiose pieces of Destiel meta (@charlie-minion was the very first person who inspired me to write meta; I followed her once I joined the fandom Oh my god, here we go, holy crap this subtext – I’m invested in this godforsaken ship because they’re in love with each other and I’m not getting off any time soon. The rest is history.
I’m aware that I do come off as positive (and I’m still Destiel-positive; whatever happens in 14x20 this week may or may not change that), but I hope you don’t mind if I use your lovely ask as an additional opportunity to clarify my meta standpoint: no one’s saying Destiel WILL become text.
The general Destiel meta community (all subfactions: Destiel-positive, -negative, -neutral, and in-between) is not the Most Holy Canon Word, and we aren’t SPN writers, and again, we can’t actually speak to the veracity of Destiel as guaranteed-gonna-go-textual, but we — a diverse pool of critical thinkers from all walks of life: particularly those who have some degree of experience in literary academia/English literature studies (fun fact: I was actually pursuing a Minor’s in English until I changed my mind - my first love’s Health Science/Biology, which I stuck with, but here I am doing lit-crit analysis on the side *wink*) — can speak to the veracity of Destiel as a real, palpable, and ever-substantial long-running romance narrative aka the love story between Dean and Cas IS THERE. I see it. We all see it. We didn’t pluck it out of the random ether one day. It naturally evolved across the show’s overarching narrative like some vast spiderweb, linked together by numerous character arc amalgamations of Dean Winchester and Castiel as separate individuals who were then brought together — who brought themselves together, by the sheer force of free will and choice — and are now inherent parts of the other’s story (and respective character progression).
I say this too many times to count: the entire point of writing meta? Personally, it enables me to appreciate the literary gorgeousness of Dean and Cas’ relationship as, first and foremost, a tentative alliance offset by the very moment Cas raised Dean from perdition (it’s a poetic beginning). Their alliance then inevitably proliferated into a rocky — at times, necessarily turbulent — friendship, then a deep profound bond…one that crossed platonic boundaries since S7/8 and is, ultimately, indelibly rooted in romance. Together, Dean and Cas build up each other’s strengths, complement each other’s flaws, and narratively motivate the other to self-introspect — to become the best version of themselves that they were always meant to be: self-actualized entities who let go of their painful, horrifying, psychologically/emotionally destitute pasts.
These above reasons and more are why I think Destiel belongs right up there on the shelf of Ye Olde Classics, similar to epics by John Milton, Shakespearian tragic dramas, Homeric characteristic cruxes, and the great Odyssey journey: a legendary journey, fraught with circumstance, that finally ended with Odysseus (now an enlightened man) returning to Penelope, the love of his life.
Channeling the scope of Homer’s Odyssey, Destiel is an incredible storytelling feat of obstacles, both internal and external, romance tropes, mirroring, foreshadowing, and visual cadence/emotion, enhancing SPN’s already character-driven main plot in that Dean and Cas try to make it back to one another; like Penelope, their love holds true despite everything. If Destiel were an M/F couple, we all know their love story would be absolutely undeniable to the GA.
I do understand the bitterness S14’s fostered in some viewers, though. I do understand that Dean and Cas seem distant (and yeah, it’s a noticeable difference compared to S12/S13), but I believe the Destiel subtext is still heavy and holds steady.
Right now, at this point, there remains multiple personal issues for the characters to solve, you know? Dean and Cas aren’t talking properly; their love languages stay mistranslated, although we’re persistently shown that they still understand each other on a certain level that no one else can, and the visual narrative keeps framing them as on-the-nose solid counterparts: a domestic-spousal romantic unit independent of Sam.

They want to be there for the other. They need to quash the final remnants of their respective internal loathing (Dean’s self-worthiness, Cas’ self-expendability) before they’re able to give the other 100% of their time, efforts, attention, and love (as flawed and complicated but compellingly beautiful as it can possibly be). During the times Dean and Cas do try to talk shit out, extraneous issues continue to get between them.
As other friends/meta pals discussed with me, S14 is like S10 in that it’s confusing the cast/audiences. And exactly: S8, besides S11/S12/early S13, also belongs in the close-to-canon serious Destiel narrative transition! I can discuss the showrunning/writer problem of SBL (Singer + Bucklemming; @occamshipper hits the nail on the head) that tugs subtext – especially subtext linked to Destiel – back and forth, sometimes in the weirdest nonsensical ways, but I won’t go too far into it here. I agree, however, with the recent idea that Jensen does seem a bit confused as to where he should bring Dean emotionally this season (don’t get me wrong, I do NOT believe Dean is OOC; OOC is a completely different concept vs expected character behaviour). And if Dean’s consistently romance-coded past interactions with Cas are any indication, Jensen would also — in the same vein as all of us — want Dean and Cas to start getting their shit together. Long-running fictional characters like Dean and Cas, conceived over 10 years, are so well-written to the point where you, the author, can predict what they’ll do even if you just plop both of them inside a room and give them no direction, and I personally feel that nowadays Jensen is prevented from achieving Dean’s further internal growth/unsure how to act in the moment because of some dumb SBL scripts saying one thing while his character’s heart says another. Wank aside—
Season 15 should hopefully convey a much more logical subtextual perspective e.g. unbelievably amazingly cohesive Season Destiel 11 that aired after choppy S10. Not all hope is lost!! I also want to clarify that I personally LOVED Season 14 in general. It’s been mostly Emotion-centric constant, with Yockey, Berens, Perez, and Dabb usually making my top-rank SPN writer list.
Currently the narrative’s still allowing pretty significant (imho) wiggle room for the lovers to fracture apart and get back together, where their miscommunication comes to a dramatic head. We just saw Dean and Cas argue over Jack’s well-being in 14x18 and 19. Dean — besides putting Cas at the top of his You’re-Dead-to-Me-Because-You-Lied-but-I-Still-Love-You-Goddammit hitlist (for clear spousal-coded reasons) and taking Cas’ actions to heart (he’s the person he trusted the most who lied to him) — no doubt blamed himself for what happened, and Sam was, like I said, the mouthpiece of truth. TFW were all culpable. They all failed Jack in some way, shape, or form.
I’m not expecting anything for 14x20, but I’m nervous either way! Thanks for sticking with my long answer

“what a strange illusion it is to suppose that beauty is goodness.” - leo tolstoy
OOC BASICS MUN: Kaitlin AGE: 21 TIMEZONE: EST PRONOUNS: She/her
IN CHARACTER BASICS FABLE NAME: Snow White CHOSEN NAME: Scout Wilson GENDER: Cis-female, she/her pronouns FACE CLAIM: Adrianne Ho AGE: Twenty-Five BIRTHDAY: November 1st ZODIAC: Scorpio Sun / Cancer Moon OCCUPATION: Dancer at Wonderland
Fun non-skeleton application bits below the cut!!
CONNECTIONS: Snow White has her name on a fair number of the currently posted skeletons, so I drew somewhat from what is provided in those. These are obviously going to likely change somewhat once I talk to the muns of each, but these were my bare bones interpretations!!
CINDERELLA: You honestly can’t even blame her for the way that she looks at you, and there’s this weird part of you that thinks if things were any different, perhaps the two of you could have been friends. Maybe in another life, in another fairy tale, the two of you could have bonded over being forgotten children, over being left behind by parents who died on you before they could get a chance to love you the way that you deserved. You led different lives; where your step mother forgot you until you posed a threat, Cinderella’s made sure she always knew who was the one in charge. All the same, most days Prince Charming just feels like another piece of your narrative that you weren’t in control of, and you think that maybe she’d be able to relate to feeling out of control, to wanting to find your voice no matter what it cost you.
SALLY FINKELSTEIN, ALICE, AND THE BEAST: Like calls to like, or so all the stories say, and you think that your motley collection of friends shows nothing quite as well as it does this idea. You love them for all the holes that they have in them; they’ve all been blasted by shrapnel and left standing with jagged holes in their lives where the light used to be, and you love them so much more for it. That all of you continue to stand, in spite of it all; you think that you’ve had it easiest out of the bunch, more than think–you know. That’s how you tend to feel about everything though, that the world has withstood more than you, that you need to shoulder their burdens to make sure they continue standing. You’re happy to do it though, so long as it keeps them kind, so long as it keeps them curious.
HEXXUS: They terrify you in a way that your step mother never has, and it sends thrills down your spine equal parts thrill and terror. You think that you should know better, after spending so many years watching Rose Red get into any trouble that she could, after sitting quietly by her side, perfectly content. But for all that your Stepmother scared you, she forgot you until you were an adversary. Hexxus pays you no such kindness, decorates you in glitter and draws smiles across your cheeks so tight that they ache. Queen Grimhilde is terror, but Hexxus is horror, and for the first time, horror truly has its eyes trained on you. There’s something thrilling in that.
CRUELLA DE VIL: You think that maybe you should be afraid of her, but underneath all of her fur coats and her cruel smiles and the scent of tobacco that lingers, you know that she is nothing but a cruel woman, and you spent years living with a cruel woman. You know cruel women. Worse yet still, you know cruel women with magic at their fingertips and in the blood and in the food they serve their friends. Cruella de Vil thinks that she can scare you, make you feel small, make you feel like you aren’t worth anything more than the skin on your bones. For now, you think you’ll let her think that, let her think that your kindness is weakness, but you know your strengths and you know your weaknesses, and her telling you anything contrary to that won’t change the facts.
THE HUNTSMAN: There’s a part of you that’s resentful, and it’s a part of you with a voice so loud that sometimes you think you might drown in it. It’s not that you bear a grudge against him for saving your life, far from it. You bear a grudge against the world, against Homeland for placing you in a narrative that made you so absent of a self, so absent of a choice, of your own free will. You were born, fair and beautiful and great, because your mother asked the winter night as such. You were cast aside by your father, ignored and made small by a man that couldn’t bear the sight of you for the pains it brought to his chest. When you grew beautiful, your stepmother paid in blood to have a monopoly on violence, asked a Huntsman to bring Death into your life once again. You’re grateful to him for going against her, for protecting you at great cost to himself, you’re sure, but he’s another piece in your story that you weren’t in control of. You even love him for it, but for all that you look at him and feel infinite softness, there’s a part of you in the back of your mind that love’s him as hard as diamonds. Sharp enough to cut.
QUEEN GRIMHILDE: Every fiber of your soul hates her with all that it can do as such, but you have never been built for such darkness, for such cruelty, and even in the face of what she tried to do to you there’s a part of you that can’t help but ask the question Why? Why had she done what she’d done to your father? Why has she done what she’d done to you? To Rose Red? No matter how long you think about it, you just can’t seem to make any sense of it. Was it truly all for power? Was beauty truly worth the cost of all that spilt blood? You think that her answer can’t possibly be yes, want to believe that your father had to have seen something good in her in order to agree to marry her, magic or no magic. She owns you now, body and soul, but you can’t help but wonder what it is that she’s so afraid will own her.
POTENTIAL PLOTS:
NO THROAT CAN HOLD ME. Abandon all hope, ye who enter here. It’s something of a dark plot to begin with, I suppose, for a character who I view as starting out our narrative as something of a light among large swaths of darkness. She has just spent millenia living what almost feels like a life of platitudes, of being small and being made smaller still, by both the people around her and by herself. She thought that’s what she was supposed to do, I suppose. She was a maiden with dark hair and bright eyes with sunlight threaded through her blood and the earth in her heart. Where Rose Red was always vibrant, Snow White tempered herself. She sung songs to the bluejays and hummed along with the cicadas at nighttime. She read stories by candlelight instead of sneaking out of the castle, and spent her days sketching and singing rather than dancing about with her sister and causing mayhem. What if she were to fall off the proverbial bandwagon? She’s always been this prim and proper thing, and it’s made her innocent and kind beyond belief, and she loves that about herself, that her smile can brighten another person’s day, but I think that coming out of Homeland also gave her the opportunity of breaking out of this loop wherein her narrative is contingent on her being saved. Maybe it’s time to abandon the hummingbirds and the sketchbooks, to embrace the eyes trained on her at Wonderland and get herself well and truly lost.
FORGIVE ME, FOR MY HEART. My God, someone give this girl someone to love, and I’d rather it not be someone who is content with complacency, who is content enough to exist in a marriage that is broken, that’s loveless (I’m looking at you, Prince Charming). I imagine she feels similarly to him as she feels to the Huntsman, but to a lesser degree most likely. Where the Huntsman risked his own throat to save hers, all Prince Charming had to do was press his lips to hers in order to bring her back to life. She’s grateful to him for saving her, even if it came at no personal cost to him, but there’s also that part of her that resents having to have been saved. I’d love for her to fall for someone who makes her see stars, who she loves for the sake of love. I think it would be infinitely fascinating to see how she reacts to love at all, to see how after all of this fighting to find her own voice, to find who she is outside of the things that people have done to her, how would she react to the feeling of her heart being in someone else’s palms?
SWEETNESS BORDERING ON TEARS. Oh! My! God! I am such a slut for family relationships and the inevitable pain that they bring me. There’s something so fascinating especially to me about the relationship between sisters. Maybe it’s because my own with my sister has changed so much over the years while all the while staying exactly the same, but Rose Red and Snow White make me feel Some Type of Way™. The crimson to the other’s pure white, Rose Red is someone who Snow White almost forgot to be jealous of while they were growing up. I think that they tempered each other in a way, one the quiet and the other the noise and together they made something magic. But what about now, after Snow White ran and their Stepmother imprisoned Rose Red? I’d probably argue that, in that situation, Rose Red had the worse end of the stick. It didn’t matter that Snow White was the true object of her ire, Queen Grimhilde still saw her other step-daughter as a potential threat in the future. Does Rose Red harbor any resentment towards her sister for leaving her behind? What effect has this had on their relationship? I can definitely see this being one of the driving forces behind Snow White kind of stumbling headfirst further into the dark underbelly of Fabletown. Without Rose Red there to temper her quiet, she will need to find her noise somewhere else, and I’d be very afraid where she finds it.
WHAT KEEPS A KIND GIRL ALIVE IN THE WILD? The answer is fairly simple: kindness pays for kindness. I’d love for Scout to take someone, not exactly under her wing because I’m not sure that she’s in a proper sort of from of mind at the moment to completely well and truly be responsible for another person, but I certainly want for there to be someone in Fabletown whom Scout would die for, whom Scout would protect with her life the way the Huntsman protected hers with his own. Perhaps she feels a bit like she owes the world, having survived not one but two assassination attempts, but I think she is just the kind of soul who loves to love, who loves to spread light where she can even while she’s letting the darkness seep into her soul. I’d love to see her interacting with someone who’s naive, someone who hasn’t had the same bad things happen to them as they’ve happened to her, or maybe someone who is currently going through a hardship that she can help them through. A huge part of Scout is her innate kindness, and to see that manifest itself in her sharing it with someone else would be incredible.
PLAYER’S CHOICE:
CURIOUS / NAIVE: There’s no doubt that Scout is curious. The stories don’t pay much credence to it as far as I can tell except to say that in Snow-White and Rose Red that Snow White is quiet and tends to favor reading to playing outside. I’ve taken that and combined it with what we get in the Disney version and the other Grimm fairytale and come to this conclusion that Snow White has this insatiable need for knowledge. She loves to know things, and I can just see her sitting in the gardens reading a book, not noticing the time passing until suddenly the sun has disappeared behind the horizon and she can no longer read the page before her. As she grew older, she wasn’t allowed much to interact with her people, but she was allowed out into the woods near the castle, and she wandered the grounds at length, learning about the wildlife and the fauna there, learning about the flowers that could kill and the herbs that could heal, sketching each of them in a journal for her to learn and memorize. This curiosity did her well enough in Homeland, where she was kept separate from other people and she had Rose Red to fill her in on any human stories that she might want to hear, but she is also deeply naive when it comes to human interactions. She’s learning, slowly but surely, what it means to truly live among the villains, but she is still learning. Her curiosity is a wonderful thing, and it makes her more knowledgeable about so many things in this world than many of her fellow fables, but there’s a reason curiosity killed that cat, and Scout is well on her way to finding out just how true that it.
THE BIRDS AND THE BEES: Perhaps this is something of a cliché Snow White headcanon, but I’d imagine she, and Scout by proxy, have quite an affinity for mother nature and all of her creatures. She feeds the ducks bread every couple of weeks, and leaves milk out for the stray cat the lives near her apartment. She tried bringing it home with her once, but it mewled and cried and scratched at her door until she let it back out into the streets. Sometimes things just can’t be caged, and she’s starting to truly understand that. In Homeland, she spent a lot of her free time cataloging different plant species, and could probably have killed someone without any need for magic, all she’d need to do are pluck a few berries and toss them in among a small bowl of blueberries. There aren’t exactly as many fauna in Fabletown for Scout to analyze as there was in Homeland, but she still has all that knowledge tucked up in the back of her head.
HISTORY IS WRITTEN BY THE VICTORS: Scout has something of an affinity for reading texts, always has and she suspects she always will. It started in Homeland, where she did little with her time but spend it in the library, or reading books stolen from the library in various nooks throughout the castle grounds. She could devour texts about their history and fictional books and nonfiction texts about anything and everything in between, and since coming to Fabletown she’s found that she quite enjoys reading about human history. Her apartment is often an absolute mess because the sheer volume of books she’s collected cannot be contained within the four walls.
DREAMING IN SLOW MOTION: Scout, since coming to Fabletown, has had a great deal of trouble sleeping. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out why that is, but she doesn’t like to talk about it all the same. It makes her feel weak, that this is her terrible thing she must overcome. There are those in Fabletown who have had it far worse than she, whose families forced them into servitude and who got turned into household objects, people who watched loved ones die, get eaten by wolves. She was forced into a coma, made to sleep without sleeping. That, she thinks, is what has made her so afraid. That while she was in the coma, she remembers the people being around her. She remembers the dwarves mourning her, remembers the elderly old woman cackling over her as her throat closed up and she couldn’t so much as scream for help. Maybe if she’d truly been asleep, maybe if when Prince Charming kissed her she hadn’t heard him coming, maybe then she wouldn’t be so terrified every evening to go to sleep, scared out of her mind that she’ll wake up without waking up once again. But she is terrified, and so she avoids sleep. She’ll go running, run as far as her legs will take her and then run back home. She’ll curl up in a booth at the local diner with a book in hand and sip at the jet fuel coffee until she’s so tired the world blurs before her eyes, stumble home and into bed and sleep a fitful sleep for a few hours and then wake up to do it all over again the next day. Sometimes soon it will catch up to her, but for now she’s surviving.
IN CHARACTER INTERVIEW:
QUESTION ONE: How do you feel about the Exodus?
She knows what the rest of Fabletown would say, thinks that she knows all too well how they would skin her alive for her honest answer. She can’t help it though, can’t help the way that Fabletown feels infinitely more like a home to her than Homeland had ever felt.
She smiles, something soft and subtle, but there all the same.
“If I tell you, do you promise not to tell?” She says, keeping her eyes trained on the police deputy standing next to her. He’s close, too close almost. Close enough that she thinks she can smell his aftershave on his skin, mixed with the scent of coffee grounds and something woodsy. They both are leaned against the wall, shoulders pressed up against the concrete wall outside of Wonderland. She’s been allowed a break to answer the officer’s questions, but something about the way he’s looking at her makes her wonder if he’s really taking her questioning all that seriously.
“Only if you answer correctly,” he responds, and somewhere in her head she knows that he’s trying to flirt, that he’s playing coy with her because she’s in her work uniform and the skin exposed makes his gaze drop from the truth of the situation to her clavicle.
With him looking at her, even more so, with him not looking at her but at her body, she’s reminded of all the times that she wasn’t afforded the opportunity to be anything more than her pretty face. She thinks about the time in Homeland where a prince kissed her awake and got to call it saving her life, then marry her for his efforts; thinks of being completely at the mercy of the Huntsman, teary eyed and begging for a life she barely even wanted. She remembers sitting in the castle like a ghost, some shell of a girl barely able to lay claim to her life. She thinks about Homeland, and then she thinks about Wonderland, about the clash and the gore and the glitter and the glitz and all eyes on her. She thinks about all the ways that she’s felt like… well, likesomeone. She thinks, even with the glitter she had to scrub off her skin at the end of the night, rubbing at flesh until its red and raw, and the outfits that left nothing to the imagination, that she is more free than she ever was before the Exodus.
Her head cocks to the side, and she knows it’s a risk, but she answers honestly all the same.
“I think it’s the best thing that could have happened to me.”
QUESTION TWO: Was it hard adjusting to life in Fabletown? Do you miss the Homeworld?
“Not particularly,” she says in response to his second question. “You and I didn’t know each other back then, but something tells me you wouldn’t have been half as interested back then as you are right now.”
She is still smiling that half-smile, her eyes amused by the police officers line of questioning. Scout knows that it’s only standard, that they’re asking anyone with even half a connection to Scarlet Morales the same questions, but they feel trivial all the same. She’d had as hard a time as anyone else adjusting to Fabletown. No one she knew had an easy time. Who could have, after all? They’d been stripped of everything that they knew and thrust into a new land, a new world, one absent so many things that they had known once upon a time.
“I find that hard to believe,” her officer responds, almost scoffing as her appraises her.
“Just trust me,” she says, raising her eyebrows and tilting her head to the side in an arrogant way that feels foreign. “Everyone else does.”
QUESTION THREE: Where is your favorite place in Fabletown or New York?
“My favorite place?” she says, echoing the officer.
She has to pause for a moment, contemplating where she thinks might be her favorite place. The list, she felt, could go on for miles. She loves every single one of the parks, loves to walk through them and hear the wind in the trees at dawn, the song of birds calling to each other the only other noise when the human world hasn’t seen fit to rise yet. Theres the museum, where she loves to sit and stare at the marvels that humans have created with a few strokes of a brush on canvas. She loves it there, sitting among all that sheer humanity. It’s Earth’s very own version of magic, she thinks. She thinks about late nights, killing time before her shift starts, wandering through the bookstore, perusing spines and picking up one’s that speak to her.
“Would you believe me if I said the bookshop?” She says, her eyebrows raised as though she expects somehow that she will be laughed at, as though she’s prepared to laugh at herself, to make herself small for this man. Old habits are hard to break, she’s finding.
“So she’s got brains and beauty,” he says instead of laughing, and she is immediately grateful.
“I’ll let you be the judge of that,” she responds, laughing lightly, feeling a weight off her chest.
QUESTION FOUR: How do you feel about magic? Do you think it should be banned, regulated, or neither?
And immediately the weight is back, twice as heavy.
Three times.
Four times.
Growing with every impending second, every moment that she has to think about the terrors magic has inflicted on her life. It’s a horror, a thing that rots in the pit of her stomach and turns her blood to battery acid, the memories that come to the surface when she thinks about magic. A finger pricked on a needle, a blood offering for a beautiful daughter that her mother hadn’t even know she was making to the land. Red lips whispering in a grieving man’s ear, about beauty and power and the taste of trouble on the horizon that could be squashed by a simple exchange of vows. Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?
Death, she thinks, wrapping its slender fingers around Magic’s throat.
That’d be the fairest scene in the land.
Her jaw is tight, but she tries her best not to make it so. She’s spent her time since coming to Fabletown trying to forget the girl she had been before, the girl subject to the whims of magic and the terrors it caused her. Here, she was better. Here, she could be stronger. Here, the magic wouldn’t touch her.
“I think magic makes it easier for weak hearts to rule,” she says carefully, not wanting to make her stance against magic quite so obvious. It never did her well, not in a place where magic would always be the true King. “And weak hearts often can’t support others. The last thing Fabletown needs is to be ruled by people who don’t know how to help anyone but themselves.”
Let her officer do with that what he would.
QUESTION FIVE: Who do you think killed Little Red Riding Hood?
“I don’t think I’m high enough on the totem pole to be of much use to you on that one,” she says, her shoulders still tight from trying to avoid the last question. She purses her lips, narrows her eyes slightly as she fully takes in the face leaned in so close to her own.
It’s nice, she thinks; all sharp lines and planes contrasting with shadows. For a half second, her finger twitch and she wishes she had her sketchbook with her so that she could do a fast outline of the officer’s face. But she hadn’t picked up her sketch book in weeks, and something tells her that he would take it as a sign of something that she didn’t want for it to be. She liked to appreciate beauty, and something in his gaze told her he probably liked to exploit it.
She pushes away from the wall then and takes a step backwards, keeping eye contact with the pretty police officer whose name she’d need to pretend to forget if he ever came crawling around Wonderland during his off duty hours. She didn’t mind the wandering eyes, liked them even, could bask in them for hours and not get tired of them, but something about him made her feel like maybe she would give in if he asked, like maybe he was someone she could lose herself in.
She had lost herself for years.
She didn’t need to do it again here.
Fabletown was her second chance at freedom. She wasn’t going to waste it on a pair of sharp cheekbones and a smile to match. So, she looks away, turning on her heel and begins to walk away, figuring that was the end of the interview. Once you got to the question of who killed Little Red, there couldn’t be much else left to ask, after all. She hesitates on her fourth step though, and turns back around. She’s almost unsurprised to see the officer still has his eyes on her departing figure. Almost.
“I wouldn’t think twice about looking more closely at Queen Grimhilde.” The words tumble out of her before she knows fully what she’s said, and her officer looks surprised she gave him an actual answer. She doesn’t blame him; she’s surprised, too. “Maybe it’s old grudges coming to bear, but I’ve never known her to be averse to murder if it would further her own gain. Not sure what she gains from Scarlet being gone, but if there’s something there, you’d be right to suspect her.”
And with that she turns away again and doesn’t look back when she walks through the backdoor, straight into the heart of Wonderland.
#poison:intro#intro.#graphic.#in character#its a /little/ long so brownie points to anyone who actually reads it all through honestly

A Chance (That You Might Love Me Too)
Summary: Prompt #19 - "You're a mess." "I'm your mess." | Angst (and maybe fluff? idk)
Pairing(s): Best Friend!Steve Rogers x Reader, mentions of a past relationship with a gender neutral S/O
Warnings: I cursed like twice, unrequited love, mentions of a kinda shitty previous S/O, Steve might be a bit OOC, I tried to make the reader gender neutral
A/N: For @bucky-at-bedtime's 1.5k writing challenge! Also the first MCU scenario I'm posting. Kind of inspired by Ray Charles's "You Don't Know Me".
Word count: 1124 words
Afraid and shy, I let my chance go by / A chance that you might love me too.
It was late, but not too late. Those dead hours right after dinner that he made useful by crossing items off his “How To Catch Up With The Twenty-First Century” list. Steve Rogers was just about to start reading a new biography he’d recently bought, when his phone rang. When you called.
He smiled as he checked the ID and answered the call with a hum, expecting you to ask him about his day, or if he wanted to hang out soon. Instead, no words from you. Absolute silence, except for a quiet sob. And then another one, a bit louder. And then you were crying; Steve placed the book on his coffee table. He got up and grabbed his jacket and keys.
“Steve, I-”
“Just hang in there, I’m on my way.”
Steve left his apartment in a hurry and ran down the stairs, not even bothering to wait for the elevator. As he raced through the busy streets – speeding up whenever he could –, his heart ached at the thought of you, probably crying and hurting over some asshole Steve swore he could beat up. But he was noble at heart, and he’d never hurt anyone if he didn’t have to. And he was also terrified of admitting how he truly felt about you.
It didn’t take him long to get to your place, reach for the keys in his right pocket and unlock your front door. And since he didn’t find you sitting on the couch, where he thought you’d probably be, he walked in, locked the door behind him, took a deep breath, and headed towards your bedroom.
“Y/N? Are you in there?” he softly called, as he knocked on your door. To his surprise, you called him from the living room. He saw you standing there, a glass of water in your hands, disheveled hair and dried tears on both your cheeks. You looked like you’d gone through emotional hell, and yet you stood, and Steve loved you for that, among many other things. He just couldn’t find the words to use, or the time to say it.
“Sorry, I just needed water,” you weakly let out, wiping your eyes as you approached him. He knew you like the back of his hand, but it wasn’t too hard to see that you were barely keeping it together. He stepped aside so you could open the door, but he wasn’t sure if he was supposed to follow you inside. In fact, he wasn’t exactly sure how to handle any of this; your voice that cracked as soon as you said a word, the tears streaming down your face every now and then, his own racing heart. He couldn’t stand to see you like this, but there was no way he was going to leave.
“Steve?”
Your voice brought him back to the present and he offered you a small smile when you patted the spot next to you on the bed. Steve Rogers was no stranger to your bedroom, or to your place in general. It was more than usual for one of you to visit the other and spend long, lazy afternoons talking about a bunch of different topics, or dancing to recent hit songs, or just taking a nap. You could always count on him for a good time.
“Y/N, come home with me,” he tried, but you shook your head. “I can’t leave you here. Not like this.”
“Can you stay for tonight?”
He sat down by your side and sighed, nodding. Steve gently pulled you into his chest, as you finally let out a loud sob and gave in to the pain you were feeling. As much as he’d like to take it all away, to be more than just the rock you chose to rely on every time you ended up with a broken heart, he settled for the next best thing: to be your best friend – and a good one at that.
Steve rubbed soothing circles on your back, knowing better than to ask you to talk to him. You’d tell him what was bothering you in your own time. Neither of you knew how much time had gone by before you finally spoke.
“I was dumped, Stevie,” you began. He froze for a second, a wave of violent scenarios going through his mind. He quickly got rid of those thoughts; that just wasn’t him. You needed him with you, not out there chasing your exes.
“You might not believe me right now, but you were way too good for them,” he stated, a serious look in his eyes. You shook your head, avoiding to meet his gaze.
“Clearly, they didn’t feel the same way,” you mumbled, “I just thought things were going alright between us. I swear I tried t-”
“Y/N, some people don’t appreciate all the effort we put into a relationship,” he said, lifting your chin up with his index finger. “That doesn’t mean we’re worth any less.”
You teared up a bit at his words, choosing to reply by pulling him into a tight hug.
“What did I even do to deserve you?” you asked, only half-joking, as you pulled away.
He smiled, shaking his head. You were happy, or at least happier, and that’s all that mattered. He just wished you could understand how happy he could make you.
Because that’s what he truly wanted.
“You’re a mess, Y/N,” he chuckled, as he followed you to the couch to watch some shitty comedy. “One of my favorite people in the world, but still a mess.”
Your disheveled figure to hold every morning, as you both struggled with bed hair.
You laughed loudly, louder than the sobs and cries had been. His heart was so full, yet he felt it break every time yours did.
“In a good way, I hope,” you said.
Your sobs as you both sat down for some sappy movie on a rather normal evening spent together.
“The best way, as always,” he chuckled, sitting down next to you as you reached for the remote.
Your attempts at cooking, and the food fights that followed.
You looked his way, smiling as you found him already staring at you. “I guess I’m your mess to handle, pal. Perks of being a best friend.”
“I guess you are,” he smiled, feeling a pain in his chest.
He wanted all of you.
“And a wonderful one at that,” he mumbled to himself.
If not right now, then when? He didn’t know. He couldn’t know, not when you would only now begin to heal. Maybe when he thought he’d have a chance. So he looked at you, took in your laugh, your scent, your presence.
He’d tell you some other day.

FAMILY BACKGROUND
Growing up, Ginny’s life was ordinary. Well as ordinary as it could be for a lower-income wizarding family of nine, in which she was only special because of her gender. It was a novelty, being the only girl in a gaggle of vivid ginger boys, whom all had a booming personality that internally struggled to shine amongst each other. That being said, Ginny’s childhood was happy. Loving parents who had come out of the first war with themselves intact and enough love to go around their large lot. One by one, all of Ginny’s brothers turned of age to attend school, making the months between September and May lonelier, until it was only her and Ron. It was due to this that she had grown a kinship with the boy who was only a year older. Mud puddles and pretend, debating whether the Harpies or the Cannons were the superior team (obviously the Harpies!). That is until Ron turned eleven and everything changed. Harry Potter returned to the wizarding world, and invaded their lives as Ron Weasley’s best mate.
It was safe to say that Ginny was immediately infatuated. The first celebrity she’d ever had the pleasure of meeting with just a simple smile at King’s Cross, followed by a lonely year alone. It was spent mostly using the Bill’s old broom he’d left behind in the shed to practice quidditch and counting down the days until she was at Hogwarts with her brothers, making friends, and chatting with the Boy Who Lived.
Except that wasn’t what happened. Ron had moved on, found a kinship with Harry and Hermione that didn’t have room for her, and instead she was left to figure it out on her own. But she wasn’t alone. No, she had found a friend in a book, only a week before school and he had twisted it’s grip into her heart and fed on all of her insecurities. Isolating her from those that were her age, with every heartfelt secret she gave him, the more pull Tom Riddle had until he was finally controlling her completely. It was truly terrifying. Missing moments, blood on her hands, her peers turning up petrified as a villain whispered in her ear. How was it that someone could tear a person apart while still making them feel like he was the only one that understood or cared? A master manipulator, it took her months before Ginny tried to get rid of the diary. At first she suspected she was going mad, but it had fallen into Harry’s possession and in her first act of Gryffindor bravery, she had to steal it back.
But regaining the diary simply gave Tom her power again, allowing him to use her as a pawn to draw the “Boy Who Supposedly Destroyed Voldemort” into the Chamber. It was her life-force that almost brought Tom Riddle back into his youth, but when she awoke she was free. Free to confess to Harry what had been going on for all those months, and it was with him she returned from the chamber.
After Tom, she was left to pick up the pieces. Over the years she found a friend in Hermione, who urged her to be herself. In Neville, who accompanied her to the Yule Ball just so she could take part, and in Luna, who was intuitive and open-minded. She dated people who saw her as more than just another Weasley and killed it on the quidditch pitch after all those years practicing alone. Dark times arrived, Ginny stepped up, becoming one of the original members of Dumbledore’s Army and even helping to suggest it’s infamous name. Rebellion is in her blood after all, and when Harry, Ron and Hermione planned to flee for the Ministry in order to save Sirius, she fought to follow along.
It was as if she was finally being seen. Not only by her family and peers, but after that by Harry as well. She could feel his gaze when she entered a room, heard it in his laugh that his heart was a little lighter when they smiled about the same stupid thing. She knew that that she didn’t know everything, and that peace wouldn’t last, but when he caught her in his arms that day in the common room and kissed her in front of everyone Ginny felt like she might explode with happiness. Finally she was out of her shell, absolutely vibrant and it had gotten her what she wanted all those years ago.
And yet their relationship was short lived, not because they didn’t want one another, but because duty called. Dumbledore left Harry a nearly impossible mission and the world fully knew the danger that was about to embark. Her eldest brother’s wedding proved that, as chaos reigned on Bill and Fleur’s guests. Another reminder that they were at war, as Ron and his friends left without a word. Ginny left to pick up the pieces once again.
LIFE DURING THE WAR
Ginny held her own during the war. Returning to school with Neville and Luna, they started up Dumbledore’s Army and housed students who needed safe-keeping in the Room of Requirements. She was headstrong and defiant, breaking rules and refusing to hurt anyone that didn’t deserve it. This caused a lot of problems.Sometimes only for Ginny, or the other DA leaders, who would take the punishment tenfold knowing that no one would follow someone who had cursed them earlier that day. Sometimes for the student that they were told to torture, who would then have their caster replaced by someone much more malicious. Someone who wouldn’t dare take it as easy on them as another DA member.
It’s Ginny who remembers the Sword of Gryffindor though. Remembers Harry killing the Basalisk with it, the first “Fuck you” to Tom she could associate anything with. It ended up with Snape finding them, not knowing what to do except hurt them (though less so then the Cruciatus) and send them off to detention for the next unknowable future. Except it’s Hagrid she’s with, and at least she’s out of the castle. Anything is better than the castle.
When Luna gets ripped from her arms by Death Eaters though she thinks it might be over. Her and Neville end up crying alone when no one else is looking and she feels like her whole body is being ripped apart. Her best friend! How could this happen?!
Eventually the Weasley name is too much danger though, her association as Harry Potter’s love interest - even after the break up - forces her into hiding and Neville’s left on his own, though he insists. She hugs him goodbye so tightly she’s forced away from him by her father and off to a safehouse they go, only to return for the battle of Hogwarts at the end of the school year.
LAST THREE YEARS
She lost a brother in that battle. Lost so many friends. The whole summer is funerals and mourning, and she hates how much her mother cries. She’s almost relieved to go back to school and nurse her heartache away from her family, away from Harry whom never really comes back to her. And yet with the castle rebuilt and the Death Eater’s gone, nothing is right. She barely goes to class (which has Hermione a tizzy) and spends almost all of her time on the Quidditch pitch - a golden Captain’s pin on her robes. She gets good. Really bloody good, better than anyone else in school. It’s the only way she gets to sleep at night, exhausted from running drills and practicing til her pale body is littered with dark bruises and her muscles are sore. She likes the ache though, the fact that it’s self-inflicted instead of being given to her as punishment.
She gets recruited at the end of the year by the Hollyhead Harpies, and after graduation she moves from the Burrow to the Harpy House with the other girls. It’s her first time in a sisterhood, her first time surrounded by women who understand her, the first time she’s seen as really fucking good at something and she loves it. Loves the distraction. Loves the whirlwind nature of the job, loves the fact that she can send money back to her parents so they can live comfortably (even with one less son). Loves the fact that she has her own room, and when she wakes up at night unable to move there’s no one there to judge her, no one there to notice that Tom looks at her from the corner of the shadows. Loves the fact that it’s nowhere near Hogwarts at all.
HOLIDAY DETAILS:
Just dinner with the family, opening presents to reveal her mother’s homemade knitted sweaters, and listening to Celestina Warbeck warble through the Burrow. Her family isn’t religious, but they celebrate Christmas every year as an opportunity to spend time together. While Ginny doesn’t go home as often as she should these days, she never misses a holiday - she couldn’t do that to her mum. It’s been a bit odd ever since Fred passed, but it seems they’re getting somewhat used to it. Minus George… they’re all pretty sure George won’t ever get used to a Christmas without his twin.
OOC SUPPLEMENT:
SHIPS: I’m a total sucker for Hinny, but up for anything really.
CHANGES: Ginny doesn’t torture anyone while in school. She’s more likely to defy orders from the Death Eaters in school and make everything worse, or take the punishment herself. I firmly believe that her, Neville and Luna doesn’t harm any of the DA due to believing that no one would follow them if they did. Their purpose in Hogwarts was to try and be a safe space and protector, as well as mess things up for the Death Eaters. I think, while sometimes it would be the logical choice to just do it and go easy on the other students, the proud Gryffindor in Ginny would flat out refuse no matter the consequences.
FACECLAIM: Luca Hollestelle or Rose Leslie

♫ Just One Look at You, and I Know It's Gonna Be a Lovely Day ♫
We know we’re a little late getting this published, but don’t worry. We still wanna celebrate a couple more fantastic AOW Members this month!
Just in case you need refreshing, every month here we’re spotlighting two members and showering them with lots of love and affection. These members are selected at random, and we won’t have any repeats until everyone is featured. We’re doing this because we’re allllllll about spreading those good vibes. Also, we’re all about celebrating you, our amazing, wonderful, and incredibly talented members. You all deserve the world. Seriously.
Alright, enough blubbering from your admins. Let’s get on to AOW Members of the Month, May Edition.
CHANTEL: @catescrimgeour & @eldestbones
I love reading what you have on the dash, your characters are so interesting to read about and I love how life like they are. You have such interesting ideas and are wicked funny!! ---Haylie
It’s always a great pleasure to read Chantel’s characters on the dash. They are so beautifully crafted, with such depth and attention to details, they are real. Thank you for bringing them to life and sharing them with us. ---Stefano
Chantel is such a nice and warm person, I feel like she’s super supportive ooc and I love it when her characters pop up on the dash! I haven’t played with them much (gotta change that) but I’m a big fan of Henry, Cate AND Chantel. ---Harriet
As soon as I picked up Amelia, she was already messaging me on Discord for plots and threads. It made me so happy to know I had a sibling to rp with that is completely and totally dedicated! Chantel is so, so kind and always has something positive to say. ---Kt
Chantel, I am so glad our paths have crossed through RP. You are always so kind to others, and so receptive to their plots and ideas. Absolutely you are a team player, and I appreciate that about you so much. OCs admittedly used to worry me; not anymore. The fact that Cate and Henry weren’t part of the original design of this group astounds me because they fit so beautifully and offer so much. I already don’t want to imagine AOW without them—and especially without you. Thank you for being such a supportive ray of sunshine in AOW! I cant wait to see your characters grow on the dash and get to share more of this journey with you. ---Beth
Oh my goodness, where do I even begin, Chantel? We had the pleasure of crossing paths in the past, and I’m so glad you’ve followed us here. Before AOW was even established (hell, when we still called it the “New Place”), you were eager and excited about this opportunity. Your optimism, kindness, and friendly demeanor truly helped Beth and I position AOW, and figure out what and who we wanted to be as a group. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Not to mention, you’ve brought two incredibly unique roles to the bunch. You should be so proud of the writing you’ve done! AOW has only been opened for a few months, and I already see Henry growing and developing---Cate is well on her way too! I’m totally rambling, but please know how truly grateful I am to have you in this group. (Never leave and take 10 characters, please?) ---Nicole
ILYATATH: @fletcher-mundungus
Mundungus has never been a fave character of mine but I really love how you’ve brought him to life! You make him so interesting and fun to read about and write against! And you are so nice!! ---Haylie
We have been rping together for ages. I’ve met dozens and dozens of Ilyatath’s characters over the years and it always amazes me how they come to life, each one of them unique and spectacular in their own way. Thank you. ---Stefano
I had never seen anyone play Mundungus until I saw Ilyatath play him and honestly ?? I was blown away. I never thought I would love Mundungus Fletcher so damn much but she has literally created such a good character. He sticks to the canon but she’s also so creative he’s become such a personality, you never know what he’s going to do or say next. Amazing 10/10 such great writing and characterisation. ---Harriet
I feel like whichever of my characters is talking to Mundungus, it’s going to be an enjoyable experience. I love seeing Dung in action. He’s got his unique place on the dash and his banter is always something I love to read, especially when I’m the one replying to it. Such a talented writer! ---Kt
Mundungus is a very bizarre character, not just in that he as a person is intriguing and off beat, but in that despite all that, I still love him so much?? You have always done a beautiful job with him, but this has been especially true these past couple of months at AOW. He’s such a clear and vivid person, and you and him both inspire me creatively, which I’m just so thankful for. You da best. ---Beth
Alright, I’m just going to say it: Ilyatath writes Mundungus Fletcher better than JKR did. YEP, I SAID IT. How you’ve managed to adhere to canon while still taking Dung on a unique path blows my mind. I’m in awe of your writing abilities! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful character with us. I cannot imagine AOW without your Mundungus. Also, you are so approachable and willing to plot. I feel like I could go to you with a crazy plot idea, and you would immediately begin writing the starter. I’m so grateful to have you here. (Please stay here forever and take all the characters!) ---Nicole
@all: We know we sent this out at the last minute (sorry about that!), so feel free to comment on this post with your kind words if you didn’t get a chance to submit. xoxoxo!

This- well.
So. I needed to make something for lesbian day. But I can’t art (I know what I said and I meant it) and I understand that I could improve if I worked on my art skills but- to put it simply, no.
And my writing- my writing is horrid. I mean, I can’t construct decent endings, most of my plot points don’t make sense, my OCs are messes that are generally there because I had a really good story idea... which eventually just whittled away into said character, and I’m so bad at getting the dynamic right, so most of my fanfiction reads as painfully ooc. And writing? Writing is the thing I value the most about myself. It sorta hurts to admit these things, but this is how you grow. You tear yourself apart, hug your torn up ego and try to get better.
With that all said, I’m also anxious, mainly about the fact that I don’t want to be a ist/phobic asshole. So I tend to not stray into deeper waters, which would probably be good for me but- sigh.
With all of that said, I present to you my Lesbian Day Fic with a bunch of my old OCs you’ve never heard of. (And it’s poly. Yes. )
This is technically going to be part of the Remus and Roman Heal fic which I’m combining with the I love my Headcannons fic.
Also, I will post a more ansty version later.
CW: Vague descriptions of trauma, basic mentions of trauma-induced flashbacks. If there’s more please tell me.
This is relatively tame, especially for this group of characters.
And it’s okay.
Iza looked bored. Eve looked like she was planning on killing Iza (which, was sorta fair, considering she was icing over the table again). And, Lauren just looked dazed. Lauren always looked dazed. Lauren had been through so much and- well. They weren’t going to judge her because she looked dazed.
“Iza.” Eve hissed slightly, her eyes flickering darkly. “I swear to Itanni that if you keep icing over the damn table I will summon a void creature and feed you to it.”
“Was I meant to be summoned, or did you guys miss me?” Amelie joked, popping up into the room, the tendrils of darkness coiling back into her hair.
“Sorry Ams.” Eve said. “I was threatening to feed Iza to a void creature because she keeps pulling an Elsa and freezing over the damn table.”
“Ouch. You still only think of me as a void creature.” Amelie said, her voice, while sounding joking, was barely covering up the actual, poorly-hidden hurt.
“We think of you as OUR void creature.” Iza said, clenching her fists so the ice wouldn’t keep spilling out.
“OUR void creature.” Eve repeated, then shrugged. “I’m all for weird nicknames that quietly suggest that we’re in a massive polyamorous relationship.”
“Well, they wouldn’t be wrong.” Amelie said, kissing the top of Iza’s head, which made her blush and ice shot across the table like spikes.
Eve was torn between laughing at her partners’ antics or losing her shit about the ice, which was quickly melting and spilling all over the floor. She chose laughing.
It was rare, the days when Iza wasn’t fixing a layer of Sanctuary, the days when Eve wasn’t trying to help rescue one child or another, the days when Amelie didn’t spend half the day helping Itanni send out missions because of something to do with a need for diversity (which was the longest running joke in the group because Amelie was there to be the braincell of all of the tiny operations Itanni had forgotten about) and the other half battling the void creature, which was her own nature, but she would just curl up alone in a lonely fold of the universe and try to silence the unrelenting urges to consume and destroy. And then, the days when Lauren wasn’t trying to pick up the pieces of a broken reality and her own mind, which- they had decided to not talk about yet-
The point was, being close together was hard.
So there they were, in the Sanctuary commons, all of which waiting for some news (apart from Lauren, she was brought here because she was getting that glassy look in her eye and when that happened it was only a matter of time before the words they conditioned, or, more, burnt into her brain) and then they were just being together. There was a massive sense of satisfaction.
And then they were just sitting and talking, and Amelie was getting surprise kisses at Iza, who would try to throw tiny ice shards at her, which she would disintergrate before they could even get close.
There were not fires, no drama, there weren’t bad guys to fight.
It was lovely.
And the Eve noticed that Lauren hadn’t said anything in a while. Not a good thing.
So she approached and reached for her shoulder.
Lauren was spaced out completely, eyes focused on a spot in the distance, and it would look like she was half asleep if her body wasn’t so tense that it looked like she might explode if even a tiny bit more pressure was put on her.
And the fact that there were flames leaking from her hands.
Flashback.
Shit.
“Iza?” Eve called gently. “Iza, can you come over here?”
Eve was good with the kids. The new ones. Lauren was different. Everything was different.
“Yeah?” Iza called, looking concerned, then her concern rose as she saw Lauren.
Everything was- they didn’t go down that path.
Iza knew how to do this. Iza had been put with Lauren when she had been dumped at the children’s home with temporary amnesia and a lot of fire.
Then Amelie was up and watching them and she was wincing slightly from the tension in the atmosphere. Eve felt it too.
Iza’s hands filled with ice. And then she held Lauren’s hand, careful to avoid her wrists and waited for the reaction.
At first Lauren flinched, her body tensing further. Then she was shaking, and gasping and whispering their names and that this was a flashback and she had survived. She was no longer there.
Iza made the ice a bit colder, enough for Lauren to blink and look around. Enough to start to ground her.
“What are five things in the room that look like they should be chip shapes?” Amelie blurted, trying to remember what to do. And whatever they said for these few moments, they needed to be careful.
“The weird tattoo on Iza’s arm that looks like a butterfly-lion hybrid.” Lauren mumbled, gaze unfocused but still there.
“The little pyramid thing that yo- WE made together.”
“The d-lamp, which we all know is off brand Amelie.” She said, managing to muster a sense of bravado
“The shards of ice on the floor.” Lauren said, leaning into her chair.
And then Amelie was quietly asking “Hey can I touch you?” and Lauren was nodding.
And then bits of the void were wrapping around Lauren and holding her tight.
“We love you.” Iza said, her ice wrapping around her hands like an instinctive reaction to the pain in the room.
“I love you too. I’m just-” And then she cut herself off and Eve let her form show and joined in on the hug, kissing Lauren lightly on the ear and pulling them tight. Iza smiled at her partners, bodies entangled, being ever so gentle because the world outside was ever so rough and it was perfect.
And Iza went down there and was hugging her girlfriends, letting it all work itself out. And it was going to continue being horrible but it could be horrible to the four of them.
Lauren looked sorta sleepy in Amelie’s arms, and Eve also looked like she was burnt out. But Lauren was almost actually sleeping, and Iza, who was known for being the ‘meanness’ one out of the 4, thought it was unfairly adorable.
And they were holding each other and this was love.
This was love.
