#ooc: fun fact he canonically has an older brother older sister and two younger brothers

hi chilchuck! i was wondering if you have any siblings,,, and if so, do you have any advice on how to support them through crappy days? i'm not good at comforting others, but i'd like to try my best, and i think we have that in common/pos.

but yeah, if you have any ideas for activities that sound fun (like, ones that you wouldn't feel dragged into) or just your two cent, then that'd be great :))

I've actually got four siblings, but I was the middle child so I wasn't very good with that sort of stuff. My older brother and sister handled most of it, the rest of us just followed along. Usually getting someone out of the house worked pretty well, though. Try taking them somewhere they like going, and see if that helps.

GAang Dynamics

Katara is (the G)Aang’s Mother/Older Sister Cont. (and character develpment)

In the GAang. Katara “adopts” Aang almost as soon as she bends him out of the ice

She almost always looks after Aang, keeping him on task, helping him learn, being the rational voice they all need to hear sometimes

With Toph she’s less of a mother and more of an older sister that tries to steer their junior in the right direction (they bud heads and have a couple fights, but manage to have fun together and help with what the GAang needs)

She has to unlearn how to be a kid/teen because she learned to be a mom first

She bears a lot of the emotional work and trauma for the GAang, even before Zuko appears in Book 3

In Book 2 & 3 (mainly) she learns that she is allowed to be fun, immature, and selfish with what she needs/desires (which was something she’s been made fun of & had to apologize for)

She realizes and embraces the fact in Book 3 that she can be an individual person that follows what she wants without having to worry or care about what the others thing she should do (this also happens in the NWT, Ba Sing Se, and various places in the Earth Kingdom) (she becomes more assertive in what she needs/wants)

Zuko: the dad the gAang needed

He’s obviously educated (both in & out of banishment)

(Leadership skillz) He’s commanded a ship at 13

Has worked for a living wage at 16 (as seen by Jet, he can (barely) handle customer service)

When he was accepted into the group, he channels the only responsible adult he knows-- Iroh

making tea, reckless outings to help others, thinking ahead of oppnents and obsticles, letting them vent, providing shelter when they needed cover, dad jokes (”leaf me alone!”), and being a human shield

Zuko’s Nature

In the Zuko Alone episode we can epsically see that he’s been in the shadow of his younger sister Azula

Throughout Book 1 he threw tantrums left and right

With his obession (read: hyperfixation) on honor, he was stuck in his “failure” against Ozai when he was 13

/\ \/ he relapses into this thinking when he joins Azula in Book 3

He took advantage of Iroh before they separeted, and even then he searched for his approval and validation

The Warped perception of Love and each other

It may not be obvious but Aang has an idea of Katara in is head that is not like her in the SLIGHEST (see Southern Raiders section)

He even points it out in the comics

With Katara in the comics it points out the “right kind of love” but referencing Zuko’s sacrifice in protecting Katara

In both instances it shows that Aang is putting Katara in a pedestal and doesn’t see her for who she is because of the crush he has on her.

The Fortuneteller

*Also even though Aunt Wu tells Katara she’s to marry a powerful bender it could’ve been anyone, not just Aang. Zuko, Azula, or Toph (maybe even be single forever and reject it all together because she’s a master bender) were also candidates. She didn’t get any more specific besides powerful bender*

This episode shows how Aang’s crush is just a crush, using Meng as an example

Meng points out how both their names rhyme “that rhymes with Meng!”

The Parallels

Like Aang is with Katara, she’s 2 years younger than he is

The “sparkles” show up when they both see their crush and plays the same music

They have tried to flirt the same way with their crush (and were both brushed off when their crush showed disintrest and indifference)

The Differences

Towards the end of the episode, Meng realizes and acknowledges that Aang doesn’t return her feelings and advances. She even tells Aang that she supports his feelings towards Katara

(This doesn’t happen until Book 2) When learning more about the Avatar State, and the Spirit World from Guru Pathik, Aang had to open all 7 chakras, however he couldn’t open the seventh (the Thought Chakra), refusing to let go of is attachment to Katara, blocking himself from the Avaatar State (which bit him in the butt (or back) when he faced Azula) 

(of course this could be because he’s 12, and hasn’t learned the difference between between, lust and Iove, platonic and romantic attraction yet)

You can’t tell me this wasn’t one the most Anti-Kataang, Pro-Zutara, Anti-Zutara, Anti-All three of them episode (besides Fortune Teller and Southern Raiders)

Even though the play is a mockery retailing Books 1 & 2, it does give a possible reason why Katara would choose Zuko instead of Aang, (“the Avatar? He’s like a little brother to me!”) and she even used a similar phrase in Book 1 (“he’s a cute little guy like Momo!”) 

Aang was lowkey OOC here, when it was stated by Actor!Zuko to Actor!Katara “aren’t you the Avatar’s girl?” to which Aang nods, a grim/serious look on his face (because of this he literally confuses canon with fanon, and at the intermission confronts Katara on a statement she never said herself, instead taking to heart what an actress portraying her said)

Literally one of the very few episodes where these two talk about their feelings toward each other (and it ends terribly)

Because Aang is 12 (and frozen for 100 years), he may not (completely) understand romantic and platonic boundries, getting upset at Katara, and not reading her (uncomfortable) body langauge before kissing her

Aang:“But it's true, isn't it? We kissed at the Invasion, and I thought we were gonna be together. But we're not.” Katara: Aang, “I don't know.” Aang: “Why don’t you know?” Katara: “Because, we're in the middle of a war, and, we have other things to worry about. This isn't the right time.” Aang: “Well, when is the right time?” Katara: “Aang, I’m sorry, but right now I’m a little confused.”

hi·er·ar·chy.   /ˈhī(ə)ˌrärkē/.   noun.   a system or organization in which people or groups are ranked one above the other according to status or authority.

i. the natural order of things.

there is a natural order to the universe. this is known. this is fact. but what is the natural order to the universe ??? one would assume you could trace it back to the beginning, discovering the EXACT ORDER of things, & there would be no room for debate. this idea, of course, is hypothetical. put this to practice in the real world, & well, one knows a lot less about the natural order & how to properly balance it out. for as far back as the supernatural world can remember, there have been TWO SPECIES————witches & werewolves. it is suspected at one point that one came from the other, while the other’s origin is unknown to all. perhaps they have always been there, perhaps not. no matter their origin, the natural order of the universe bent & swayed at some point in time to accommodate the two species. but it wasn’t until roughly 1000 years ago when the most notable bend in the natural order was made: the creation of VAMPIRES.

enter the MIKAELSONS, a simple family living in the new world. there was the father, mikael, & there was the mother, esther. she was a witch just like her sister before her ( her sister who took away the couple’s eldest child,  a young girl named freya ). the family had several other kids: finn, elijah, klaus, kol, rebekah, & henrik. after an attack on their son henrik by their werewolf neighbors, mikael searched & searched for a way to protect his family. the solution ??? to make his children STRONGER & FASTER than the werewolves. with an adapted immortality spell & the blood of a petrova doppelganger, the couple turned their children into vampires. but nature was upset & cursed them in ways not originally conceived of——the sun became their enemy & their thirst for human blood became their weakness. see, there is a natural order of things, & the natural order does not like to be disturbed.

ii. i shall be king !

despite the downfalls of their new-found immortality, the mikaelson’s ensured their survival by eliminating the only thing that could destroy them——the white oak tree which gave them immortality. their family’s bonds, however, could not be ensured & when klaus’s first kill revealed his mother’s infidelity, mikael attacked his wife’s lover & ignited the origins of the werewolf-vampire feud. fearing more backlash from nature, esther cursed & made his werewolf nature dormant. klaus felt betrayed & killed her, blaming his father for the act. from there most of the siblings split up, going their separate ways & creating their own SIRE LINES————vampires who would follow in the mikaelsons’ footsteps, LOYAL subjects for a powerful family. elijah, rebekah, & niklaus, however,promised to stick together, & for many centuries they did. but soon klaus became obsessed with breaking his CURSE. obsessed enough that when KATERINA PETROVA, another doppelganger, showed up at his home in england, he was quick to try & use her to break the curse. she escaped, much to his anger, & killed herself ( but only after some mysterious advice from a shadowy figure in the night ). in retaliation, he killed her parents & younger sister, anastasia. for the next few centuries, katerina the vampire ran, hid, & did whatever she could to survive, taking a lesson in her sister’s way of life. it wasn’t until 1864 that she notably POPPED up again when she turned the elder two salvatore siblings & promptly staged her death.

iii. there must be balance.

unbeknownst to the mikaelsons, as they became VAMPIRE ROYALTY ( klaus having declared himself KING) backlash was forming among some of their oldest sires. fearing klaus would eventually break his curse & create a more powerful race, councils were formed ( those shadowy figures hiding in the night ). they claimed they were there to keep the PEACE, keep the species ‘ undetected ’from the human world. klaus did not step down from his new throne; however, & he & the new council met an impasse. klaus REMAINED king while the council kept order between the vampires &werewolves &witches. but the vampires weren’t the only ones with a council, you see. as the newest supernatural species moved on up in power, the witches & werewolves grew fearful & created councils of their own. the werewolf council preferred to delegate inter-species matters rather than interfere with problems between other wolves. the witches council kept track of the covens & enforced the balance of nature, making it PUNISHABLE to try & interfere. but the older, more powerful, more persuasive vampires pushed their limits in order to PROTECT themselves. they gained the trust of families of witches, promising them protection & a never-ending lineage, in exchange for a magical ally in whatever they needed. many vampires insisted to BIND the families to their own life force, allowing the agreement to become neutral after those vampires died. witches& vampires in relationships, however, learned how to TWEAK this bond to create an empathetic connection between the two. this wasn’t the only safety measure these vampires went to. they also signed over the deed to their residencies, typically to a human ( who perhaps worked for them ) or a trusted witch that lived with them, to prevent unwelcome vampires from coming in WITHOUT permission.

meanwhile, elijah disappeared into the background, growing more perturbed at his brother’s obsession with breaking the curse. behind his brother’s back, he SABOTAGED any attempts to break the curse.

iv. to rule them all…

the year is 2016, & klaus still rules from the streets of NOLA. however, he grows restless more &more to break his curse & prevent the council from rising to a higher position of power than him. his sister REBEKAH is his only sibling to have stayed by his side through everything. the rest of the mikaelson clan’s whereabouts are unknown, but it is assumed some are planning to overthrow ( building up their sire lines as means of an army ) for their own chance at the throne. as klaus continues to search for ways to become a hybrid, many forces plot to PREVENT this, including ( but not limited to ) the vampire council, his own brother elijah, & humans who hunt the supernatural. whispers of another petrova doppelganger living among the streets of nola reach many ears, but she is no where to be seen, thanks to elijah’s quick discovery of her as a young girl. she now lives hidden within the SALVATORE BOARDING HOUSE, having grown up there with her younger brother. despite their sire lines reaching back to klaus & rebekah, the salvatore brothers took the gilberts in as wards. other residents of the salvatore household include the last of the BENNETT witches, bonnie ( the family having SERVED as the salvatore’s witches after damon’s promise to emily bennett ), as well as the house’s deed holder, kennedy steele, a witch who’s friendship with the salvatores’ traces back to 1864 & one of her previous incarnations. the five are determined to protect the GILBERTS from the king.

BUT how long will there secret last ???

open any fandom dealing with the supernatural (i.e. the vampire diaries, the originals, supernatural, teen wolf, twilight, buffy, etc ). it should be noted, however, the only accepted supernatural creatures in this verse are VAMPIRES ( including the ORIGINALS ),WEREWOLVES ( including any form of WERE-CREATURES from TEEN WOLF, just note there is only the WEREWOLF COUNCIL, not any other specific councils for each derivative of said species ), HUMANS ( who can either be UNAWARE of the supernatural, AWARE of the supernatural ( & possibly be a member of their household ) or  a HUNTER ), WITCHES ( possibilities include FREE-LANCERS, COVEN MEMBERS, VAMPIRE-BOUND WITCHES ( i.e. the ones obligated to work for certain vampire households  ), & COUNCIL MEMBERS ), & HERETICS (IT SHOULD BE NOTED HERETICS DO NOT HAVE A COUNCIL).

the main storyline, however, takes place in NOLA 2016. for cohesive purposes, the salvatore boarding house has been relocated to NOLA as well.

obviously no duplicates of the characters or faceclaims ( unless CANON DOPPELGANGERS ). also klaus has not broken his curse yet, so there is no hope mikaelson.

also we are going to limit the number of current council members to five per species ( so 5 witches can be council members, 5 vampires can be, & 5 werewolves can be ). also if your character is mentioned in the group verse plot, your character is NOT a council member, for obvious reasons.

each character needs a small bio, a brief sentence or two of their relations.
