why is Outsider stuff so often looks sealife-related? gills, tentactles, barnacles, it’s hard to not see the pattern. do Outsiders look like fish? does fish look like the Outsiders? what’s the connection here?

You're floating in a void. Pure black, in all directions. There's no up, no down. There's nothing by which to orient yourself. Endless, aching darkness in all directions. It frays at you, knowing that you could float for months in one direction and hit nothing. The infinite size, and infinite emptiness.

You can't breathe. The pressure is alien to you. You won't survive long here. The very nature of this place demands your death. You have but moments left.

The airlock! The fucking airlock! I'm trying, I'm trying, it's - oh, god, it -

You feel something. Your body leaps at the sensation of it, of feeling anything in this void, but when you look down you see this...orange disc. This great hateful circle. It's massive, it's unimaginably huge. Unfathomably so. Swirling, furious.

What. What is that. What the fuck is- Close the shutters! Close the shutt- I can't look at it, I can't look at it - It's huge it's huge it's can it SEE us?

Is it looking at you? Can anything so huge be said to contain intentionality like that? Can it see you? Does it understand?

depressurize us, it's the only way - get him away from the fucking controls - what the FUCK is it -

This is the only place something so huge could even exist. Its sheer size would kill it otherwise. But here it thrives, in this infinite black, the hateful stars blotted out. We tell ourselves we've tamed it. We travel in it, study it. We lie, we lie, we lie, but really we just put it out of our minds.

god it's - is it? is it god? - depressurizing the ship - Stop it! Is there an emergency override - our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name -

Because really, all that separates us from truth, that infinite unknowable truth, is a few inches of metal.

When you're floating in that space, is it space? Or the ocean?

Is there a difference?

I didn't really watch too much TV as a young kid? I liked to mess around with my kit or go fuck around in the forests, for the most part. I started watching stuff more in highschool and college.

Some stuff I enjoy, or enjoyed, off the top of my head- Batman: The Animated Series, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Buffy the Vampire Slayer... There are definitely more things that I watched, but I'm not sure what all I really stand by enjoying... sometimes, you just watch something because it's so weird it fascinates you, ya know?

i love when you rewatch a movie and you notice lil details that you didn't before :' ) like how m.iles chooses to sit in the backseat of his dad's car rather than sit up front with him. that tells us right off at the start that there's some discomfort on his end bc he's creating distance between them, even if it's a small distance. he could have sat his bags in the back -- most people would have instead of sitting them in the front seat. you come to understand why m.iles creates that distance as the movie progresses and you see that his dad tends to be harder on m.iles than his mom is. his mom is softer on him and maybe understands him a little better, too, which is why m.iles doesn't put up a fight when she's giving him a kiss goodbye ( he complains but there's no real push ). later on, too, she says something like, " he didn't even pick up for me, " implying that m.iles must typically take her calls even when he's avoiding his dad.

this is a little ramble-y but!! it's lil details like that that make me so happy bc it's good story-telling!! i love when movies show vs. tell bc actions really can be so effective in getting your point across and more impactful, too.

this might be reaching, but i do wonder if placing m.iles in the back of the police car and showing us his pov, looking at his dad through the mesh/bar/whatever you call it window is also referencing the fact that he would have become the prowler and a criminal/villain had he not been bitten by that spider? i feel like it's really more about establishing where the characters stand with each other, but it's an interesting thought! especially since m.iles' colors for the ' spidey sense ' were originally purple and green before switching to blue and red, so i don't doubt the writers were having fun with foreshadowing and whatnot :' )

I just want to see Goro, who’s severely injured with gunshot wounds and blood matted in his hair and on the verge of death, to come stumbling out of the entry point of Shido’s ship. He’s like a cat on his last life, barely hanging by a thread. But he’s still here. He’s still breathing even as he collapses onto the concrete. His phone is coated in blood and immediately shatters as it skids across the ground. He’s certain he’s going to die. But he’s glad he’s not dying in there. He doesn’t have to become a missing persons case (should anyone care to look). But most importantly, he won’t die in obscurity just like Shido wanted. He relishes in the realization Shido will have at the fact that he highly underestimated Goro. That he wasn’t some easy, naive target. That instead Goro went down kicking and screaming until the bitter end and made it off that damned ship. He may not have accomplished what he truly wanted, but that in itself is still a personal victory that follows him into the last of his consciousness.

If you read all my posts in one sitting you could probably start piecing together the vague idea of this fanfic I'm writing for myself. Idk if I'd ever post it bc it's just self indulgence autistic kantrio daydreaming but it is certainly fun to think about it.
