Hi! My name is Sea, and I like to collect things. 🌿

Specifically, as of February this year, I have made it my mission to collect as many resources for the Final Fantasy community as I can; including, but not limited to: Communities, Events, Free Companies, How-To Guides, Lore, Tools and more! I have compiled them into Sea's Community Compendium for FFXIV Creatives, a venture I hope will service as a directory for new and old FFXIV players alike to find places and things they might not otherwise know about, and I'm proud to say that the Compendium has over a hundred individual entries!

...But I want more.

Specifically, as much as this is a call to introduce new people to the Compendium, it is a call for anyone who might know of specific resources/communities that not in the document to take a moment's time out of their day to let me know about them. You can submit specific resources via:

You do not need to be a resource/server owner to submit; there just needs to be a publicly accessible link. ✨

Projects like mine equally cannot survive without the support of the community. If you like what I do, please reblog this post or share it with your friends; post it in your community servers or link it on your social media(s). The more visibility I get, the larger the Compendium becomes and the more likely you are to find a resource or community to suit your needs.

Okay, but really, Is my space suitable for the Compendium? Most of the time, yes! Below the read more is some more information/stipulations. This is all publicly available on the document.

Below are the following things I do not accept on the Compendium:

Personal/Single-Character LFC ads. (Though these get posted to the SEAFLOOR Tumblr Community when I find them!)

Content intended for or can be used for bullying, harassment and OOC gossip. E.g. ‘Secrets’ blogs, receipts, callout posts, etc. This does not include IC tabloid blogs or other ventures used to generate roleplay.

Communities that do not have an RP/writing element (large-scale exempt).

Anything I find personally distasteful or goes against the spirit of this project.

I want to put my community on the Compendium but we have an application process. Is this okay?

Yes! Just note somewhere in your application that's a requirement. The only thing that is mandatory for the Compendium is that you must be open to new members or have a public-facing/accessible facet. There's no point advertising a community if no one can join it in some way!

I want to put my Community on the compendium but I only have x number of members —

Also totally okay! People don't start with large communities. Activity is a must but, whether your server has two or two thousand members, if you're looking for new people to join, I'd love to help you find people.

I want to put my community/resource on the Compendium but I worry its too niche?

Okay, and? If your Eorzean Fishing Alliance has four members but you roleplay every second weekend, I still want to know about it. The same goes for resources; if it's relevant to the game, it'll be useful to someone.

How active does a community need to be?

If you find a community has not been active in about two/three months, send me a message and I'll take a look at it. Communities have ebbs and flows, especially event spaces that may take hiatuses depending on member interest/life events. I'm not strict in my implementation provided a space isn't dead. If a link or anything is broken, contact me asap!

Crafter/Gatherer for Hire~

I’ve decided that everyday I work and I’m done with all of my daily routines, I will reblog this post. I’ve slowly been running out of things to do, and this really keeps me from getting too bored during my shifts. So here’s a list of rules/things I can do!

FOR CRAFTING:

I will craft leve-kit sets and gear sets 1 - 70, free of charge! Tips are appreciated, but not needed. Levekits are for crafters only, I will not do fishing levekits, please see the rule down below about fishing, if you are wanting a levekit for fishing.

Anything over level 70, I will charge for. 

I will NOT craft the new level 80 gear (Facet or Ishgardian sets), because I am not confident in my abilities to make them High Quality and the materials are expensive. 

If you would like Normal Quality of these items, any materials that require Tomestones will be on you (however, any items requiring scrips, I will pick up) - I will still be charging for the crafting of these items.

I WILL craft furniture, bardings, orchestrion rolls, etc, of any level for no charge - again, tips are appreciated, but not necessary.

Items requiring Primal Materials will require those specific materials on you. I cannot farm EXs while I am working, unfortunately - however, I will gather everything else needed. This includes Orchestrion Rolls - I will require the faded roll from you.

Items that require Grand Company Seals to be spent will be with your Seals, if you do not want to use your Seals, then your request will be put at the bottom of the list for me to gather whenever I am able to.

However, items requiring Beast Tribe tokens, Poetics, or Scrips (both crafter and gatherer, and both Yellow and White) I can gather myself.

Some crafting class quests require materia to be melded onto certain items, all materia will be your to gather, however, I can meld it for you free of charge, if need be. 

FOR GATHERING:

Prefer to do the crafting yourself, but your gatherers aren’t up to date? No problem!

I will gather any materials - including Unspoiled and Folklore nodes, free of charge up to 100 (per day) of that specific material, every material after that will be charged for the current Mateus market board price per item. 

The only exception to this is materials that require Fishing - fishing takes up a lot of time that can be used to help others, I don’t mind fishing for materials for you, but the price per material you need for fishing will be 50% of the current Mateus market board price per item. I will do this for levekits. 

I will gather Skybuilders’ Grade 2 items for you, free of charge up to 500 (per day) of that specific material - anything above that, will be charged the difference on the price of the current Mateus market board price per item.

I will gather treasure maps on the first come, first serve basis. If you want a treasure map, I will let you know if I have gathered that map today or not.

The only rules I have for this are!:

Be patient! I will let you know when your request has been gotten to - you may be waiting a day or two depending on how many requests I have. Since I will be working while I am doing these, it may take a bit longer than normal to finish.

Please be kind! It is not my intention to take business from people, I only want something to do while I’m working. Sometimes I may have to tell you that I cannot complete your request, but I will give you anything I have already finished.

This is for the Crystal Data Center ONLY!

If you are not online when I am ready to give you your items, I will hold onto them for up to three days before I sell what I have made. 

IF YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR REQUEST TO BE DONE ON DAYS THAT I DO NOT WORK, I WILL CHARGE FULL PRICE FOR ALL ITEMS.

Levekits and Skybuilders’ will depend on the current market for said items, everything else will be charged at 20% cheaper than the current Mateus market board price per item.

2020 Meta-Resolutions

For the first time ever this year, I decided to put some extra work into my roleplay life. For the past year (possibly more) I’ve been unhappy with various things - mostly the decline of enjoyment in a hobby that has given me a lot of joy for over a decade. I sat down at the end of last year and thought about if I should close down the blog, unsub and quit WoW, and just move on from online roleplay. 

After a lot of thought, I realized that wouldn’t make me happy either. I really do love writing, and without online roleplay, I know I would make so little time for it that it would quickly disappear from my life (yes, I play RPG tabletops but we don’t write). Writing is also the only creative hobby in my life that I make daily time for - and I need creativity in my life to keep me happy.

SO! With the idea in mind that I didn’t want to pack up my hobby just yet, but my current reality was just not bringing me as much joy as it used to... I set out some resolutions this year to put a concentrated effort into improving my situation. I want to mend relationships that I have felt floundering, and also be proactive in creating new relationships where I have felt a void.

Why am I putting this out there? Because I am more than happy for other people to know this is my goal this year. I want to make new friends. I want to be more involved in the RP community. I want to mend old grudges and wipe the slate clean; lets forgive and move on, start again. And I need you to help me do that!

Here are my meta-goals for 2020:

1. I will make an effort to reach out and schedule roleplay dates with my ‘regular’ partners at a minimum of once a month. This goal is mainly for my ships where we’ve been RPing for years and we’ve gotten into bad habits of just talking about head canons, or hanging out IRL instead of carving out RP time, simply infrequent RP, or if our schedules are simply challenging. Mainly focusing on Jericho, Aelberyn, Kharris, and Selysona.

2. I will be more active in commenting, reblogging, and following RP blogs of OC’s I know and don’t know. I will push outside my usual box and be open to different groups that I haven’t previously socialized with. I will send asks and prompts even if I think ‘this person doesn’t like me’ or ‘this person is annoyed by me’ or ‘I heard through the rumor mill this person believes a bunch of untrue BS about me’. It’s 2020 and I am MEGA over all these old grudges and history we all carry around. I want to start clean. Life is short and we’re all playing a video game together. I want to support others, put myself out there, push past insecurity.

3. I will post more self-promotional material. I’ve previously cringed at self promotion and I have to get past this. People don’t interact with OCs they don’t know. I have to put myself out there and ignore the brain weasels if I want people to interact with me.

4. I will write more original work. I’d like to aim for at least 12 original blogs this year. While that’s not a lofty goal at all, I’ve been averaging about zero to 3 blogs per year for YEARS. People won’t interact with OCs they don’t know. If I want people to get excited about my character, I need to actually write for him.

5. I would like to make a few brand new friends this year. This has been such a steep challenge in the past 7 years for me. Every new OC I meet has felt like the alt of someone I know, and when those writers leave WoW it means they take 5-6 OCs with them. My character deserves to have friends, and one of my biggest depression triggers has been going to events and not knowing anyone anymore. So I’m putting a BIG effort into making Iloam some new buds. If I reach out to you out of the blue through Tumblr, please don’t be creeped out! I’m genuinely not trying to creep on you. I’m just putting effort into meeting new people and Tumblr is the best way to meet OCs outside my regular IG haunts.

Below are the following things I do not accept on the Compendium:

Personal/Single-Character LFC ads.

Content intended for or can be used for bullying, harassment and OOC gossip. E.g. ‘Secrets’ blogs, receipts, callout posts, etc. This does not include in-character tabloid blogs used to generate RP.

Communities that do not have an RP/writing element (large-scale exempt).

Anything I find personally distasteful or goes against the spirit of this project.

FAQ.

I want to put my community on the compendium but we have an application process. Is this okay?

Yes! Just note somewhere in your application that's a requirement. The only thing that is mandatory for the Compendium is that you must be open to new members or have a public-facing/accessible facet. There's no point advertising a community if no one can join it in some way!

I want to put my community on the compendium but I only have x number of members —

Also totally okay! People don't start with large communities. Activity is a must but, whether your server has two or two thousand members, if you're looking for new people to join, I'd love to help you find people.

I want to put my community on the compendium but I worry its too niche?

Okay, and? If your Eorzean Fishing Alliance has four members but you roleplay every second weekend, I still want to know about it.

What resources/communities can I add if I'm not the owner of them?

Mutual consent is extremely important to me, so anything that isn't a large-scale community OR a publicly accessible resource must be endorsed by the owner/admin/moderators in order to be added to the compendium. I operate under the assumption that a resource posted to a public space (tumblr, googledocs, youtube, etc) is open to all. A large-scale community is one with a significant member count or openly advertises itself as being accessible to everyone for whatever purpose it serves. If in doubt, please get in touch with me. I'm happy to contact your community owners for you!

How active does a community need to be?

If you find a community has not been active in about two/three months, send me a message and I'll take a look at it. Communities have ebbs and flows, especially event spaces that may take hiatuses depending on member interest/life events. I'm not strict in my implementation provided a space isn't dead. If a link or anything is broken, absolutely contact me about that.
