Sakusa and Ushijima seeing their wife and child at their game.
Request: UM EXCUSE ME BUT DAD PRO PLAYERS ARE A MUST HAVE IN MY LIFE. I know you haven’t done anything with dads yet but maybe Skusa and Ushijima seeing their wife and child at one of their game. It’s a surprise though so they don’t expect it. THANK YOU!
OMG ANON THIS IS AN AMAZING ASK. I have another dad related ask which I’ll get to later this week I hope *or maybe next week*. I haven’t written Sakusa before so I’m sorry if he’s a little OOC. Hope you like it. Love yaa.💖💖💖
rules
warnings: fluff
characters are aged up
Sakusa Kiyoomi
-How did you manage to end up with a child from this man?
-I mean mister germaphobe here actually slept with someone? And got her pregnant?
-In all seriousness he would do anything for you and his son.
-From the moment he was born, Oomi was wrapped around his little finger.
-Not being able to see you two as much as he wants leads to him being kind of a push over with both of you.
-He will shower you with affection after sanitizing you, the house, your son and himself giving you as any kisses as possible and then cuddling you during the night, holding you as close as possible.
-As for your son...he will be spoiled from sunrise to nightfall.
-He wants a new volleyball even though he has 3? Done.
-He wants a toy that he saw at some random store? Done.
-You’ll have to talk to Oomi about it since you are starting to become the bad guy since you are the one who says NO every once in a while.
-Poor man wants to make up for lost time.
-Your son has gotten into volleyball of course, even at the early age of five he already trains with his dad whenever he can.
-So when Oomi has a game that isn’t in another country your son is ecstatic.
- “Daddy’s game is in Tokyo this time! It’s not that far! Can we go please????”
-You wanted to go yourself, it had been ages since you had seen one of his games in person.
-So you agreed under the condition that he keep it a secret.
- “Let it be a surprise for daddy hm?”
-Once Oomi left for the match you went to your bedroom and put one your Black Jackals n. 15 jersey.
-Then you went to your son’s room finding him struggling to put on his makeshift MSBY 15 jersey that his dad bought him for Christmas.
-You helped him and you were out the door in no time.
-Entering the gym you took your seats in the bleachers and waited for the match to begin.
-Usually you would text or call Sakusa to wish him good luck but not this time.
-And boy did it affect him.
-He was so grumpy during warm up until he heard a very familiar squeal when they stepped on the court and were getting into receiving position.
-Looking at the bleachers he immediately spotted you, holding your son in your arms both of you adorning his number.
-He was filled with so much determination and giddiness that it was a shocker to Atsumu who saw his teammate smile for the first time.
-After a successful game, he will rush home accompanied by the two of you, listening to his son rambling on about what he saw and what he wanted to learn.
-He will shower doing his usual routine of sanitizing and cleansing his skin from germs with the power of the gods before scooping both of you up and cuddling you on the couch.
-He thanks you for going to his game because you pushed him to give his all.
-Might promise his son to take him to his practice the next day.
Ushijima Wakatoshi
-Our baby Toshi here has wanted to start a family with you for so long.
-Since you graduated high school and moved in together to be exact.
-He knows however that his occupation keeps him away from home a lot and he wouldn’t want to raise a child who doesn’t know him.
-He wants to be there for everything.
-So when you announce a few years later that you’re pregnant he is almost panicking.
-He has to be here for everything.
-You sit down and talk things through agreeing and making compromises, finally getting to the exciting part that was that you were having a baby!!
-Fast forward five years later and now you are a mother of two.
-A five year old boy who has you hair and his eyes.
-And a three year old girl who has his hair and your eyes.
-They are literally a mix match result of the both of you.
-Despite their age they are both crazy over volleyball, practicing with their dad when he doesn’t have practice and even attending his practices running around catching balls.
-They are adorable to say the least.
-Toshi is there for the majority of the important moments and he spends all his free time with them, trying to make up for lost time.
-They always accompany you to the airport to say goodbye no matter the time and are always with you to meet him when he comes back.
-Facetime before going to bed is a must if you want them to sleep in their beds, otherwise they’ll take over your bed and basically kick you out.
- “We didn’t talk to daddy!” your daughter would say with a pout that looked too much like your own.
- “Yeah and now you lose bed privileges.” your son would add before hopping onto the bed.
-At first you thought they were kidding but when they wouldn’t budge you had to call Wakatoshi and complain about your kids’ bullying.
-He would of course laugh at first and then ask to see them.
-So yeah.. they are overly attached to him.
-It makes you jealous at times.
-So when a game was close to your house the kids started acting more like angels than ever.
-They would do whatever you wanted and not question you.
-That’s how you knew that they wanted to go to the game.
-You see your kids had two modes 1) I’ll help you drive mom crazy and 2) don’t you dare breath in my direction.
-So when they both wanted the same thing mode n. 1 is in constant affect and you’re kinda scared of how easily they work together when they want to.
-You surprise them with shirts with their dad’s jersey number as you yourself are wearing one of his older jerseys.
-Now your daughter prefers your shirt and will ask if there’s another one which she can wear as a dress but sadly there isn’t (she would also look like a potato sack with Ushijima’s huge shirt one her).
-When you get to your seats the match is starting and your son is scanning the other team as they serve.
-Both Ushijima children follow the ball with such concentration like wow.
-Then the ball falls on the opposite side and dad Ushijima is going for a serve.
-Both of them are screaming/chanting for their dad and you were certain that they were they were the loudest in the gym.
-Ushijima looks at them( he spots them immediately no matter where he is )and gives them a soft smile, his whole body swelling with bride and fuzziness.
-The whole game continues with the two of them cheering and you laughing next to them as you see how terrified some of the opponents are.
-True Ushijima strength right here.
-After the game its ice cream and a family outing because he is just so happy and proud he could combust.

I Don’t Understand Buck Begins.
PSA this is a bit of rant. Not a hate-rant or anything like that, but I do express frustration and if you’re not here for that right now, please skip this. It is complicated and ended upa bit long. But if you’re up for it, I’d LOVE to know your thoughts.
I actually want to talk about this with people. I’m not here to drop a statement like a microphone and walk away. The first time I watched Buck Begins, I loved it. I still do. But as I think back on it and rewatch, there are some major issues I’m spotting:
1. Buck in his whole life has been endangering himself in order to get the attention (dare I say LOVE) of those around him. I feel like the Firefam’s (very OOC) responses to him recklessly endangering himself again only enforced these destructive habits?
2. Firefam’s OOC reaction: In literally every other episode, when Buck recklessly endangers himself the firefam immediately put the brakes on, tell Buck to treasure himself, not to be reckless, to think things through, to realize that the victim got out because of sheer good luck (as well as hair-brained thinking on Buck’s part, but some of Buck’s decision making also really endangered him, more on that later.) The fact that Bobby let Buck work that fire at all in the state of mind he was in is odd. The fact that Hen told him he was for whatever reason correct in choosing to split from the party and go on his own in his current state of mind was beyond odd. Looking back, it doesn’t feel like real moments, but rather contrivances dressed in nice words like “I don’t this often but you’re right” (NO HE’S F**KING NOT!!) so that we wouldn’t question them immediately. Was Buck correct that the other team needed anotehr man? Yeah. Was he right that it should be him? NOPE. Anyone could see that, we could see that, the Firefam could see that. but they let him go anyway. This is OOC, they’re smarter than that, and they’ve known Buck for long enough to know when he’s triggered and more likely to make poor decisions. During it, when Buck disobeys orders and Bobby is calmly just like “Yeah he does that sometimes.” I’m sorry, did someone put Xanax in Bobby’s coffee? Why on earth would he be so calm?? In a normal situation he would never be calm about that--add to it the fact that he KNEW Buck wasn’t at his most stable at the moment? He should have been shouting into his radio and hauling ass, not shrgging and smiling with pride like “Yup! It’s cool with me” like what?? Then afterward, nothing but kind words and praise. Good job risking your life like an idiot, good job risking the other guy because you were so determined to get him out asap you didn’t stop to think. That’s what you do, Buck.
Like did they really just say that!?
The only nuance that I thought was right here, the only thing that was given emphasis that felt RIGHT, was not that Buck stays behind, not that he makes reckless decisions sometimes, not that he jumped into a fire while unstable, THE ONLY THING that should have been emphasized here, that the episode should have been based on? Is that BUCK DOESN’T GIVE UP. There’s a quality in him that we’ve seen before. one that Buck doesn’t seem to realize about himself. Athena’s moment was the only moment that looking back gives me any kind of cathartsis, because it is the only healthy reaction from the firefam that I saw (aside from them all running in after him--still love that moment.) they should’ve been gentle baout it, but nonetheless should’ve told Buck to treasure himself more, not be like “And here’s our most rekless memeber, pat on the back, kid, we love that you throw yourself into danger without thinking, in fact that’s what we love most about you!” Thinking back, I could SCREAM that that’s the message they left Buck with.
3. The victim: Let’s face it, the only reason the victim didn’t die is because the writers didn’t want him to. They made sure the tank landed somewhere non-fatal so that Buck could still get a win, even though many of his decisions thus far had been hare-brained and ill-advised, driven by a mad need to prove himself, and to never leave people behind, even if stopping and waiting and thinking might be more advisable at some points. In fact, when the victim first falls, and buck wakes up and he looks at him and I thought the victim was dead, first of all I was really sad for the victim, but I also felt like that was the right way to go. Buck’s decision making wasn’t sound, he wasn’t thinking straight, he went in anyway, by all rights the only reason the victim stayed alive after everything he went through was because the writers wanted him to stay alive which they followed with a big and in my opinion inappropriate Pat on the back Moment. The victim dying would’ve been tragic, but it would’ve driven home a lesson for buck, that hurting himself, endangering himself isn’t the answer, won’t always save the day. It would’ve taught Buck (harshly yes, but) that he needs to get his head on straight in this job. And if he had lost teh victim and the firefam had been there for him anyway, it would’ve been a whole different scenario.
In the episode, while it was super sweet and had some incredible moments, Buck learns nothing, his relationship with the Firefam doesn’t actually change at all, and his relationship with his family doesn’t appear to have actually progressed. He’s still prioritizing them over himself (bringing the parents into therapy since well, they’re trying which is apparently enough now), he’s now been encouraged to continue the reckless streak of self-sacrificing decision making that he’s been on in the past in order to gain teh love and recognition of the poeple around him.
I wish the writers had placed focus, not on Buck being accepting, not on Buck being restless, but on Buck not giving up. We saw bits of that yeah, but it wasn’t as highlighted as Buck ebing reckless and feeling overall like he’s not enough. I wish the episode had been centered there, and they had created an entirely different scenario start-to-finish that (like in Eddie begins, where there were no contrivances, the only reckless thing he does--cutting the line--is something that there isn’t a quetsion in a single brain he WOULD do and should do) where Buck is level-headed, where he’s in some kind of scenario where only he could uniquely succeed in because he never gives up. This episode had bits of it here and there, but ultimately what was running teh day was buck vulnerabilities, not his strengths. Insead of pointing out where Buck shines (like the other Begins episodes), they really only further highlighted what his weaknesses are and then proceeded to have the people around him encourage those weaknesses. Like, what?!
I also think this was the moment to solidify the firefam as his family. Instead, we see Buck retreating back toward a very unhealthy family situation and the firefam remains where they always are. What they did for buck in this episode was something incredible, but it’s also something they would do for any member of the firefam. What I wanted was for the firefam to show up for Buck in a way that he uniquely needs. How, I don’t know--perhaps taking a jab at his loneliness, surprising him with a dinner party at the loft, whatever. Something that told Buck “we see your pain, we see how tough your parents are, how you and Maddie need family who will show up and treasure you no matter what (WHICH BTW INCLUDES YELING AT YOU WHEN YOU’VE BEEN AN IDIOT AND TELLING YOU TO PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF CRAP DON’T ENDANGER YOURSELF LIKE THAT AGAIN, PLEASE VALUE YOURSELF), that’s what Buck needed. An episode that would help him learn to treasure himself, believe in himself more, love the fact that he never gives up about himself, learn that dangerous stunts and running into things without thinking because he bleives that’s what gets him love is incorrect and unecessary. We didn’t get any of that. The episode was also trying to kill two birds with one stone, which brings me to my last point:
4. Framing Buck Begins around the sibling’s relationship, while GORGEOUS (seriously LOVED these moments they did and the casting was amazing, and both JLH and OS played their younger selves to perfection) I wish had been placed in a completely different episode. They didn’t belong here in an episode of Buck learning about himself. And because of the amount of airtime they took up, we ended up with an episode where Buck doesn’t really learn about himself in the end. Everything remains largely external instead of internal.
All in all, I feel like we need another Buck Begins episode to right the wrongs of this one. Nothing has been solved or fixed. Buck’s relationships remain pretty much the same going in as they do leaving. He has found no peace, no resolution (except in confirmation that Maddie loves him, which is nice, but largely external) he is still fuled by the belief that reckless behavior is what wins him teh love and attention of those around him.
This frustrates me to no end. If you feel like Buck Begins did scratch every itch for you, I’d love to talk and see your perspective as well, because I hate this itchy feeling of dissatisfaction and I dearly hope I’ve missed something here.
Anyway sorry this got so long. Didn’t realize I had QUITE so many thoughts until I started writing and then shit happened. If you made it to the end, thank youa nd I’d LOVE to hear your thoughts, whether you agree or disagree.

Care To Dance? (Harry Potter x Reader)
Request: Hi! Can you do a harry potter x reader fluffy oneshot where the reader gives him his first kiss?❤️
Pairing: Harry Potter x FemReader
Warnings: Umm, none guys this is so fluffy, I’m proud of myself!
Word Count: 1352
A/N: So again I must apologize for the delay in this! I’m not used to writing a lot of Harry so I hope this isn’t too OOC -S
———————————————————————
(Y/N) felt sorry for the boy... he looked so incredibly bored. It seemed like it would be impossible to be bored during the Yule Ball, but Harry had a way of doing the impossible (he was a champion at only 14). She could change that.
Harry watched in confusion as the girl sat down beside him. He wondered why anyone would choose to do what him and Ron were doing, especially (Y/N). She looked like she was having so much fun dancing with her friends and her date (Harry couldn’t remember his name, but he knew he was in Ravenclaw because he’d over heard it during dinner). “Hi, Harry! Hi Ron!”
Ron just waved his hand in acknowledgment; he was too preoccupied watching Hermione and Viktor. Harry wasn’t nearly as rude, “Hey, having a good time?”
“I am,” She nodded sincerely. As much as she loved Quidditch (she was on the Gryffindor team as well) and she even loved her studies, it was nice to have a break. “Why aren’t you?”
“Oh! I am having fun...” Harry lied and he could see that she wasn’t buying it. To be honest, she’d have to be pretty thick to fall for the thinly veiled sentence.
“Like I believe you put your name in the fire.” She was happy to see his face soften, she knew he had been struggling and a lot of their fellow classmates thought he was just trying to be the center of attention like always. She always thought that was hogwash, anyone who spent any time at all with Harry knew that he would’ve preferred a much quieter year at Hogwarts.
“I suppose Yule Balls just aren’t my thing?” He offered up another excuse, maybe this time she would buy it. He’d probably had more fun with a different date, but his nerves had him waiting until the last minute and by then any of the girls he thought he’d truly have a good time with were snatched up. He’d even thought about asking (Y/N), she might’ve been a year older than him, but she was always so kind to him and quite pretty too. If he hadn’t thought that before he’d definitely thought so now when she was in her gown. It didn’t matter though, because she already had a date by the time Harry mentioned it to her.
“Have you given it a chance? I mean a real one, like maybe dancing when all of the schools aren’t watching you?”
“Well... my date has disappeared.” Harry didn’t blame Padma and Pavarti for ditching him and his mate. They hadn’t been very fun, honestly Harry thought they probably owed them an apology.
(Y/N) stood in front of him and offered her hand to him. Almost as if on cue the band started to play something a little softer (if nothing else it’d probably be much easier to get him to dance to music like that). “If Ron would be okay in your absence I’d be honored if you would dance with me, Mr. Harry Potter.”
He looked over at Ron who was definitely paying them no mind. He doubted there was anything Harry could do or say that would draw him out of his trance. Reluctantly Harry took her hand which was remarkably soft, “I don’t really know what I’m doing.”
(Y/N) chuckled and placed his hands on her hips (she knew traditionally they were supposed to be higher, but if that didn’t loosen the poor kid up then she didn’t know what would). And respectively she wrapped hers around his neck. There were fancier ways to slow dance sure, but there was nothing easier than the tried and true method of just swaying to the melody. “I think you can do it, it’s pretty easy.”
“This isn’t exactly how Professor McGonagall taught us.” Harry countered her teasing.
“Well, if you’d prefer I could see if she’d dance with you.” (Y/N) feigned offense, but laughed when he let out a quick: No!
Harry had to admit this was actually pretty entertaining. He tried not to notice how they seemingly got closer the longer they danced, and for a moment he wondered if she’d notice if his hands accidentally slid down a bit. No, the night had taken a pleasant turn, no sense in pushing his luck too far. “If you don’t mind my asking, why aren’t you dancing with...”
“Dave...” She chuckled at his obvious embarrassment of not knowing the boy’s name, “Why would I dance with Dave when I could dance with the boy who lived? But seriously, I’ve been with Dave all night and it was fun sure, but you looked so bored over there I felt bad.”
“Oh, yeah. Of course.” Harry couldn’t say he wasn’t disappointed. The thrill of having a girl he liked in his arms was diminished a good bit when she admitted it was because she pitied him.
(Y/N) clearly didn’t have a way with words and she just hoped that she’d figure out a way to fix what she’d said. “I felt bad that a very good friend of mine wasn’t having a good time... I didn’t mean- Say, do you think you could sneak out to the courtyard in about 5 minutes?”
Harry didn’t want to brag, but sneaking out was one of his specialties. He wouldn’t have had much time to do so anyway because as soon as he agreed she slipped away from him with a small smile. Girls were confusing.... but alluring. So he waiting a few minutes before following her out to the courtyard.
The first thing Harry noticed was how chilly the night air was, but that was probably because it was dark. The second thing Harry noticed was how attractive (Y/N) looked sitting on the edge of the fountain waiting for him. “You made it.” She offered him a welcoming grin and patted the concrete beside her.
Harry shrugged off the jacket of his dress robes and draped it around her bare shoulders before taking his seat beside her. If he was cold, he imagined she had to be freezing.
“I really didn’t mean it to come out like that in there...” She looked apologetic, and she definitely was. “To be honest with you I thought about asking you to go with me, but I assumed you would’ve had a date already. I definitely didn’t dance with you just because I felt bad.”
“I wish you would’ve, it would’ve saved me quite a lot of trouble.” Harry jested, but in actuality he did mean it, and it did make him feel quite good to hear her say it.
“Well next time I won’t drag my feet.” She giggled.
A silence fell over them, and Harry felt guilty. He was sure there was probably something else he was supposed to say, but he just couldn’t think of anything at the moment. Maybe if he opened his mouth the words would come out? It was worth a shot, but as soon as his lips parted they shut again after feeling her press a soft kiss to his cheek. They were probably on fire now, despite the cool air.
“You okay?” (Y/N) spoke up when Harry remained unresponsive. Maybe she’d read the signs wrong?
“Yeah... I’m sorry, I haven’t really- I’m not quite sure-“ Harry began to ramble quite lamely in his opinion, but it wasn’t untrue.
Her smile was warm and inviting when Harry finally got the courage to look over at her. She leaned in slowly, giving him time to properly reject her if he wanted. Harry wouldn’t though, in fact he leaned in too, following her lead. Their eyelids got heavier the closer they got and by the time their lips finally connected, they were completely shut.
He could definitively say that her lips were as soft as they looked and quite pleasant against his. He had no desire to end the kiss, but unfortunately their lungs left them little choice. But that was okay, because when Harry saw the large grin that mimicked his on her face he knew there’d be another chance.

Winx Club Season 5 Thoughts Part 1
It’s been so hard for me to make myself start this season because I know it only goes downhill from here but here I am at last. I don’t remember anything from this season and am prepared to hate the transformations (Harmonix because it’s impractical and Sirenix because it’s ugly) so let’s do this.
- I already hate the hair and I haven’t made it past the intro yet. This is promising.
- This is off to a great start. I got the wrong episode. Not by my mistake, however. Now that I found the actual first one, let’s actually do this.
5x01:
- It’s weird to see magic so publicly on Earth. At least they’re having fun. Though, I have to say that I am not a fan of the idea of them having a band. And they have unfair advantage over every other Earth band because they can do their own advertizing without having to pay a cent and it will still be better than any other band can afford since it’s magic. They should have just dropped the band.
- I am gagging over the fact that they have Roxy praise Bloom for the help but not the other Winx girls. They were all there for her and fought to protect her and tried to teach her magic. And at one point she even said she wanted to be like Stella. But now she says that only Bloom is like a big sister. Obviously a plot device to bring in Daphne since she will be resurrected this season and they have to set it up. Especially after season 4 forgot all about her. I am still gagging, though.
- You know, I could have loved the whole ecological message but I am pretty sure they are going to fuck it up anyway. Or just not take it anywhere.
- Ugh, Helia’s hair is so ugly. But at least Sky’s is as well. But what is that box Sky has? Not another engagement ring, please, for the love of everything sacred!
- Ahh, pendant. Yeah, their relationship is going so well that they will need magic to keep it in tact. Though, good luck for both of them will be to just split up and find someone that is actually good for them. Also, why doesn’t Brandon know about that? He is literally the squire and best friend of the prince.
- Poor Layla. She must be missing Nabu like crazy. Please, let her have a season to mourn and don’t shove a new love interest in her face right away. It took her a season and a half to get the first one and he was killed. She needs some fucking time!
- Love that everyone agrees that Sky’s hair is terrible. Even Bloom’s “It looks... great” sounds like a lie.
- Why is Sky going back to Red Fountain? Didn’t he finish that? God, just let them move on already. Also, he is not A Crown Prince now. He was the Crown Prince ever since he was born. He was crowned as the king of Eraklyon. Man, are they retconning everything?
- If Bloom cared so much about what he had to say, she could have asked Musa to give them a sec. I like the little Flora and Sky interaction, though. If only it could have been on a topic different than Bloom. I wish the Specialists would interact with Winx other than their girlfriends more. It would sell the friend group vibe better.
- Aww, I wish Layla wouldn’t hide her pain over Nabu. She probably doesn’t want to affect the others with it and doesn’t want them fretting over her either but this is just so sad.
- Love how Bloom doesn’t even remember Tressa. For a moment there I thought that it was her getting crowned which would have been cooler but yeah. Also, Nereus and Tritannus are almost identical. What the hell makes Nereus hot and Tritannus not? I am so annoyed I started rhyming.
- I love the idea of underwater tech!
- Lmao, gotta love how the king has already picked a favorite. And it doesn’t seem to be a recent choice either. Idk about Tritannus yet, but I don’t like this guy. I am all for him being attacked. He even reacted like an absolute asshole. He reminds me of Erendor.
- Ah, of course. Trident. We couldn’t possibly have another weapon when it comes to merfolk.
- Tbh Tressa would be the best ruler. She seems to have learned her lesson and become braver. And if she’s protecting her brother and doing all the work anyway, why not just crown her?
- Didn’t Flora tell him to wait until he is alone with Bloom? Why did he think a good moment to give her the pendant would be when Layla is visibly worried about what is going on and everyone is there with them? I wish he’d drop it and it would break.
- How the fuck can Flora tell that there is oil spilling into the ocean? The ocean is Layla’s domain and Flora has never been shown to be able to communicate with marine plant life.
- I hate how they had to show that Timmy is obviously physically weaker than Sky. It would’ve made sense for him to had built some muscle at the very least after 4-5 years in Red Fountain.
- How the hell did Tecna delete the oil? You can’t just erase matter out of existence. There should be a rule against that.
- Yeah, I was just going to say that closing the pipes is not going to work if they don’t stop the flow of oil. The pipes might explode but it will keep spilling. Seriously, this is basic logic. Nice move. Now it will be harder to stop because the spill moved underwater.
- What happened to Layla’s wings? Is the oil sticking to them and hindering their movements? You’d think she could prevent that with magic.
- This is what happens when you carelessly put something so important in your pocket. You don’t even need to be running a rescue mission. There’s a high chance that you’re gonna lose it anyway. Also, love how Bloom just left the other guy to drown and no one else went after him either.
- Layla’s awesome. She even managed to pull that guy out even though she was struggling a lot with it. I hate the fact that they forgot she taught the others a spell to breathe underwater in season 3, though. They could have used it. But of course, that would have probably rendered Harmonix unnecessary.
- Wow, they renovated the whole platform to make it eco? Why don’t they just do that with all of the oil platforms on Earth then? It’s not like it took much effort. I want to add to this that if they’d just done that (which probably would have taken a couple of days), they could have easily defeated Tritannus later because his only source of pollution in the first half of the season has been Earth. Because there is ocean pollution only on Earth, you know. They could have used that to incorporate an ecological message, except that would have taken work on their part. And also, most of the toxic substances Tritannus consumed were spilled on purpose by the Trix. So there goes a great wasted opportunity for a thematic message.
5x02:
- Here are my bad bitches. What the hell are they doing underwater, though? It’s kinda cruel to put them in a prison that forces them to use magic if they want to survive it. What happens if they tire out? They could die,
- Aaaand for some reason Bloom is the vocalist of the band even though Musa is literally the fairy of music and the only one that was initially having a contract signed.
- I hope nobody is expecting any commentary from me on the musical performances because I am telling you from now that I will be skipping absolutely all of them.
- The selkies look ridiculous. I could appreciate the idea of having small beings being powerful guardians but they will certainly not serve any greater purpose than the pixies did so this is going to be annoying at best. Also, the selkie of Earth was still there even when the fairies weren’t, right? This somehow implies that magical beings couldn’t stop the disasters that mankind causes to Earth even though the previous season said that it was the disappearance of fairies that threw the Earth into chaos.
- Aww, look at Stella and Brandon! So good when there’s no stupid drama.
- People really went cleaning the beach not just willingly but enthusiastically? That sounds a little unbelievable. I mean, they were supposed to be at a concert and that was an abrupt change.
- Correction, I wish Sky hadn’t lost the pendant so that he could have given it to her and this would have been over. Now he is going to sulk about it for ages and he is probably going to fuck up in a self-fulfilled prophecy kinda manner and I am so not here for it. Just shut up about Bloom and Sky and focus on the action, please.
- Well, Icy is now canonically a monster fucker. Even though she thought Valtor was ugly as hell in season 3 when he turned into a demon. He was uglier than Tritanus in all fairness but still. This seems inconsistent. And I hate her voice. Not to mention that she is already acting OOC when she’s not thinking about getting out even but about fucking him. Come on!
- Is the whole turning into a monster thing some sort of reverse Beauty and the Beast? That could have been interesting... but, of course, this is Winx.
- Yep, the selkies are absolutely useless.
- If the Trix don’t have powers, then how are they breathing underwater? Also, how does toxic waste restore ice and storm powers (there is some connection to darkness at least)? And if they went that route, they could have made their powers have an element of toxicity to them to make it more interesting instead of just having a guy boost their powers yet again. Honestly, the only good thing that came out of this is that Darcy and Stormy seem to be thinking more independently now which would be necessary in order for the DramaTM between the Trix later (that is just about the only thing I remember from this season).
- I wish Darcy would have used her hypnotic powers more in the previous seasons. They are so cool and would be pretty hard to deal with once you’re hit. It could have made for more interesting fights.
- If Tritannus was good, he could actually help cleanse the oceans by sucking out all toxic waste. He likes being a monster anyway.
- Okay, but the Trix know Bloom is from Earth. They should have known it was Winx from the second they felt the fairy magic in the air. That took them long enough btw.
- Of course, the monsters can also go on land even though they are mer-creatures. Makes perfect sense.
- Love how Musa and Flora are using new spells yet they look and act exactly the same way like the old ones so it is just same shit, different story. The writers are so unoriginal.
- Layla is strong! And Winx seem to be a little too strong against the Trix. Although, Believix is supposed to be really powerful anyway.
- This could have been the perfect setup for an Icy x Bloom romance. Sky lost the pendant so his relationship with Bloom is doomed and he later lost his memory so why not just break them up. Diaspro can have him if she still wants him (I don’t know why she would but anyway) and Bloom can get with Icy after Icy realizes Tritannus is not the right one for her. Everyone wins, especially, us, the audience. And it could have been a good way to show that Diaspro has reformed and she and Sky could actually be an okay couple. Or better yet, she dumps him and gets together with Bloom and Icy.
- Layla just kicked Tritanus in the face. Boy, I stan! And the underwater battle with weapons instead of magic is super cool, I love it! Wish there’d been more of that but, of course, only Layla can pull that off and we can’t spend more than a minute focusing on anyone else other than Bloom. Why didn’t Tritannus recognize Layla, though? Or did he just not care?
- Icy crying out for help? By a man? So not here for this. It is ridiculously out of character. How is he so powerful? Once again the villain is so strong it is a wonder they ever got to live long enough to get to the finale let alone defeat him.
5x03:
- Well, Winx sure are at the top of the popularity wave again despite the last time we saw them at Alfea being very different. Also, why is it the beginning of another school year yet again? Honestly, I am so sick of all of this.
- Sky is seriously annoying me with that stupid pendant and he is also the one that is fucking up their relationship with his stupid behavior. He should just focus on being a good boyfriend and do the best he can. I get it that in a world of magic superstitions probably have more merit, but he still has control over his own life and the choices he makes. He can “save” their relationship despite the omen of doom.
- Ugh, don’t tell me there will be Helia and Flora drama in this season to compensate for the lack of such in the last? Why did he only introduce Flora as his friend and not as his girlfriend? And how is he so close with the princess of Linphea? Is he from Linphea as well?
- I agree with Stella. Just when we all thought they were done, they started making even more transformations.
- I don’t think we’ve seen Daphne be anything but calm but it’s understandable when she is talking about the thing that made her a disembodied spirit. Still it feels weird to see her not believe that Bloom can handle whatever comes her way. Especially after the defeat of the Ancestral Witches. I guess that is what bugs me in this scene.
- Wow, Darcy admitted that Winx are stronger than them and neither Icy, nor Stormy protested? It’s good that they’re self-aware. It just seems a little OOC. And another power up in two consecutive episodes? Seriously? Will they ever get anything done on their own again?
- At least Sky is asking for advice. I am surprised that they are letting him interact with Flora yet again but I actually kinda like it.
- Why are they all gasping in surprise. They have been to the archive already when Bloom stole the Codex in season 2. It is the same room; they have seen it. Get over it already.
(- *sigh* I just lost my thoughts on half the episode. This season is not agreeing with me.)
- Flora was acting weird while Crystal was helping Helia. It was kind of like she was mad it was Crystal who could save him and not her and that is weird for Flora. I think she would have just been grateful he was saved.
- I suffer when the books suffer... and they did suffer a lot in this episode. Also, how come Stormy is creating life again? This still doesn’t make sense to me but compared to other things, it is more minor.
- I love Darcy’s hypnotic powers and the fact that she was using them on Stella. I think I might be starting to seriously consider this ship (as opposed to just entertaining the possibility of a cool dynamic between them). I mean, Stella looked like she’s seen the hottest new fashion collection and I know it was the magic but still. I kinda want a Darcy who is on her own (without her sisters) and manipulating/spelling Stella into being with her so that she could make place for herself in the Solarian court. And then she falls in love, of course.
- Just please tell me Sky won’t be without his memories for the rest of the season because that will just be too annoying. If they are going for drama, it would be good to at least make it relevant instead of shoving it in there by the ton for the sake of it.
5x04:
- Since when is the whole school so invested in Bloom? They weren’t when she was actually there and even though Winx are kind of legends now, you can bet your ass that there were still fairies that don’t like them. Not to mention that they shouldn’t all know what the hell happened when no one was there to witness it. Why would they let the whole school know if Erendor doesn’t even know yet?
- You are seriously telling me that Stella hadn’t considered being a fashion designer before? Really????? She literally spent her summer after season 1 as an intern for a fashion magazine and has been designing clothes since about the same time. This is just too dumb for words.
- Love how adorably awkward Timmy is. And I love that Tecna doesn’t mind at all. They are just too cute together!
- Ooh, tension between the Trix. That is interesting. Or at least would have been if it were focused more on the power balance in their own dynamic rather than on hate vs love for Tritannus. Why does everything have to be about guys?
- At least Flora seems to like Crystal now which is cool. But I cannot express how annoyed I am by the fact that the whole thing with the pendant is preventing him from getting his memories back. And the stupid thing is that this actually has potential. Losing the pendant could be the peak of Sky’s guilt towards Bloom for all the pain he’s caused her (about Diaspro and not only) and that could be very interesting to explore but this show will never go that deep. It’ll just remain as wasted potential. Just like everything else is.
- Okay, why does no one ever start with amnesia patients by asking them how they would like to go about things, how they feel? Stuff like that.
- Tecna really turned into a robot. Again, no fucking magical system to explain how you can turn a human into a robot. Plus, this could be interesting as well and also really deep but, again, this is Winx. It is not going to be deep. Even though they could have done so much with that premise and given Tecna a really cool arc.
- Ah, yes, I forgot to mention this while I was on the previous episode. I am done with Neptune being so dismissive and even aggressive against his other son. Like, maybe if you had tried some parenting, none of this would have come to pass. Just a thought. I am not saying that parents can prevent any bad choices their kids make but I am saying that he doesn’t look like he tried too hard to be a good dad. Nereus only turned out okay because they are twins and one of them has to be good while the other is evil. I am glad at least someone is trying to reach Tritannus even if he is beyond saving.
- Oh, off, Tritanus is not messing around. You know what? I actually like that. It was about time they made the villains as ruthless as they are trying to make them out to be. Even if I feel bad for his family because they just wanted to help him.
- Why do the selkies talk in the third person? They just went from useless to majorly annoying.
- Why don’t they just go get Faragonda? She may at least know what they are dealing with and possibly clue them in on how to unspell Tecna. They don’t have to reinvent the wheel, just find someone who knows how it was made.
- Great, they just set fire to the archive and nobody bothered to put it out. And they also released the elements in there. The question remains - will the archive survive their search for the Sirenix book? (What the hell were those other books, though? I would like to know where they came from.)
- Okay, but wasn’t the book Tecna opened cursed? What happened to that? And why did the spell on her phone only activate after she opened the book? This doesn’t make sense.
5x05:
- I am very confused about the order of episodes. “The Lilo” should be before “The Power of Harmonix” because they are still using their Believix powers but it makes more sense for the Harmonix episode to be after “The Book of Sirenix”. Anyway, I am watching “The Lilo” because Wikipedia says it’s the fifth episode even though it looks more like filler that wasn’t even meant to be in the season.
- At least we get to see Flora do something this time. She is the most neglected and it’s good to see her use magic for something else other than growing ivy. Seriously, Flo, chill with the ivy.
- “When I think of you, Helia, I believe in myself.” Because she can’t believe in herself if she doesn’t have a boyfriend. The intro is so totally right! What a way to show girl power!
- Why is the animation overly flowy? Is it because it is closer to 3D in order to tie better with the actual 3D later on? It kinda pokes out your eyes sometimes. Or at least mine.
- Someone remembered that the Whisperian Crystals were a thing. I love how they just made them sort of like GPS for magical objects even though they were only supposed to track the Dragon Fire. Proof of that is the fact that they never used them to track the Ring of Solaria even though they wanted it as well. So this is just a cop out to give them a chance to find the Lilo.
- Of course, the Lilo is in the possession of Mitzi’s little sister. Why wouldn’t it be?
- Gotta love how even the writers realized that it was too convenient for everything to be in Gardenia so they started making up excuses for it.
- Wait, how does Mitzi know who the Trix are? Have they... They haven’t met, right? What the hell? Also, Icy was literally standing in front of Macy but she couldn’t just grab the plant herself and had to order Darcy and Stormy to do it? Lazy much?
- Darcy’s powers are going back to their peak this season and I am so here for it.
- Flora legit just hit Icy with her shield. That was a good move and a little more aggressive than I would have expected from Flora but I’m not complaining.
- Great way to almost hit Macy, Stella.
- There was zero point to this episode. I guess they just had to do something to get them to a total of 26 episodes. And putting it right before the episode in which they get Harmonix is just ridiculous because they just powered up their Believix... right before they’ll stop using it.
5x06:
- They can’t even open the Book of Sirenix? Huh, that’s... kinda interesting actually.
- Oh, come on! Just when Bloom was making progress, Crystal brings in Diaspro. You have to love how the writers are implying that Crystal is no good by having her being friends with Diaspro. I thought we were over the Crystal drama but it looks like there will be more. And why is Bloom not losing her mind? Diaspro literally mind controlled Sky! Goddammit, it’s in situations like this I wish I could trust Erendor to do the best for his son! If Bloom could trust he wouldn’t side with Diaspro, she could have called him to let him make sure Diaspro stays away from Sky.
- Oh, they can lose their powers if they fail the quest? I like that! Extra stakes besides the Tritannus situation. This feels more intense now and I am here for it.
- I like the implication that there are other great fairies in the Magic Dimension and it’s not just Winx. Less so fond of the fact that the other fairies seem to be underhanded but I’ll take what I can get.
- Awwwww! That scene with Stella, Tecna and Musa was so precious! I love Stella’s joking and the fact that Tecna is so upset about what happened but she still believes their reassurances! And Musa saying she might start talking about her mother... *sob* This is so precious! They are opening up to each other even more than they have already! And about the tough topics. Ah, my heart!
- Okay, I kinda like the solidarity between Bloom and Layla. Also, the fact that Flora finally figured out what they are doing. Though, that’s kinda weird to me. Flora has been more wary of the reckless plans but I don’t think she would put her powers above her friends and possibly Layla’s whole realm if not the whole universe.
- Really wish it would have been someone else that had saved the horse and not Bloom.
- “Shadow hand”? Man, I was right. Darcy’s powers are peaking! Also, whatever spell Icy used on Winx to make it harder for them to move was super cool as well. I like it.
- They have to complete the Quest in one lunar cycle? That’s 28 days... On Earth. Maybe they should have specified which moon. Since Solaria has 2 suns there are probably millions of moons out there. Okay, that isn’t working out and I wish they had been more specific with it. This episode had some cool stuff about the Magic Dimension already and they could have done more. Anyway, one lunar cycle sounds like a short time but since it’s Winx, it is probably a long time.
- Oh, they just all got Harmonix without doing anything in order to earn it. Greaaaaat. And I have to say that the Harmonix design is so impractical. Why so many veils? They’re just gonna boggle them down. Of course, nothing ever gets wet on shows but seriously? If you’re fighting with someone, they can grab you by the veils or the veils can tangle around you and become the reason for your demise. This is stupid.
- Okay, so Tecna was being really insecure but they left her behind in the search of the Gem of Self-confidence? Like, you just threw away a golden opportunity. I am into the idea that they are going in the Magical Reality Chamber to still be at the place of the action so to speak and be able to help the rest better, though.
- Love the idea of the boat that can go to any water body. I would like one. Less so enthused about the contradiction in this very episode. Stella was complaining about wearing heels when she could have just changed with magic. The proof is right there since she changed hers, Bloom’s and Layla’s whole outfits just about 10 minutes later. This is ridiculous.
- Not @ the way the writers already threw Roy in despite the fact that it has been just five episodes since the beginning of the season. Also not @ the way he seems to be the stereotypical “girls need my protection” guy. Wish Layla would just keep not liking him. But they are probably trying to emulate what happened with Nabu at first. Ugh, I hate this so much I can’t even tell you.
- Oh, come on! They’ll be bonding with the selkies now? Let me guess, that was only written so that the selkies can get their powers back through the bonds, So Tritannus will enter the Infinite Ocean with the stolen selkie powers and Winx will enter it with help from their bonded selkies. This is so transparent, I can’t even. Also, totally needed their selkies to be matching the color of their Harmonix. I mean, how else are you gonna tell that they’re their bonded selkies? Not like they have personalities or are relevant in any way. Also, can another fairy bond with a selkie that has been “taken”? Like, there is a pixie for every fairy but the selkies are much less so... what the hell? This doesn’t make any sense.
- I hate what they did with the challenge for self-confidence. They could have done so much better. But first, Bloom’s test is all about Sky (which is dumb as fuck because it literally tells you their relationship is the biggest source of insecurity in her life) and Stella’s is about her not having confidence in her fashion taste? Really? Layla’s was most cutting as always but they didn’t even try to make it hard. It was so obvious that Nabu was an illusion because he was being cruel to her and the real Nabu would never. They should have gone for something else that would have really made her struggle with figuring out it is not real. Plus, by figuring out it is not real, she didn’t exactly confront her issue with confidence. And Bloom and Stella couldn’t even break out of it on their own and needed her help. How is that successfully passing the test?!?!?!?! And I was just starting to think that this could be getting better. It was I who should have known better.
5x07:
- Aww, I love how dedicated Stella is to knowing stuff about Solaria. She is going to be a precious queen. Also, her guardian of Sirenix is so beautiful.
- Ugh, the Trix are pulled apart again. I hate it. Darcy and Stormy do have a point. I just wish Icy would keep her head in the game. Also, do they sleep out in the open? In a swamp or whatever the hell that is?
- Wow, Sky that has no memory treats Bloom better than Sky that has memory of her. Interesting. Like, if he can calm her worries about Diaspro so easily when he doesn’t even remember how much he loves her, why didn’t he do that in the previous seasons? Honestly.
- Roy is annoying me just by cheering for Winx. This is not going well.
- Oh, damn, Flora got turned into stone. What did Tritannus do to that jellyfish? Turn it into Medusa (lmao, fun fact - jellyfish is called medusa [more like meduza but still] in Bulgarian)? Seriously. And why is Flora the one saving the selkies when she is the only one that isn’t bonded to any?
- Since the Trix also didn’t put any work into earning their powers, it is only fair that Winx get a free upgrade as well. I am just glad that at least the Harmonix spells look differently even though they function in the same generic way.
- Hey, Sky is actually starting to remember? Good. I was prepared to suffer through this amnesia arc up until 5x13 at least but now I have timid hope that it will not last that long. I guess the writers haven’t heard of muscle memory, however.
- How did the Gem of Confidence turn Flora back into herself when the jellyfish that turned her into stone had nothing to do with it? It was Tritannus’ doing and not even intentional. It shouldn’t have had petrifying powers in the first place. None of this makes any sense. Not to mention that the Gem somehow multiplied to six gems. I mean, really? Would’ve been much better if they could only choose to complete one box aka everyone else would lose their powers but then through their shared goal (aka Faragonda telling them that they have to be of one mind and heart) they could have all gotten the Sirenix. Just no other powers. That would have been way more interesting (obviously Layla would be the one whose box they’d complete and I don’t believe the Dragon Fire can be extinguished anyway so Bloom could even have a loophole out of that). And besides, they don’t use the old transformations anyway.
5x08:
- Stella is rocking that outfit. But why streaks? Stella, no!
- Tecna and Timmy are absolutely adorable with their mega nerdiness. I love it.
- Jeez, really? Sky is a better dancer with amnesia than Brandon is? I mean, this could have been plausible if they hadn’t established already in the previous episode that his muscle memory has fucked off into oblivion as well. Otherwise, yes. As royalty, he is probably better at dancing. Even though battle requires a lot of coordination as well. But nice of Kiko to try to help.
- Come on, Stella, you’re being insensitive. You would be “moping” too if Brandon had died. Please, don’t try to set Layla up with guys. Just give her some time to grieve!
- I don’t know what Stella expected. Of course, Layla is going to get offended by that. She doesn’t want company, she wants Nabu back.
- Oh, come on! Musa really got mad at Riven just because he liked the music another girl was playing? What, is he supposed to only listen to her music now? She isn’t even the vocalist of their band.
- They only have 10 days left to complete the missions? When did they manage to waste so much time? Like, they legit got the first thing done in one day. Where did the other go?
- Tressa has had so much growth since season 3. I love her. Really wish they’d let her be queen. But wtf, why can the king know what all of his subjects are doing? That is so invasive. Also, Layla should not be in the range of his powers. Man, the writers are really pulling some bullshit here.
- You’d think the selkies will learn that they can’t stop Tritanus and will try to not get in his way so that he wouldn’t get to steal their powers. But nope, they are both useless and stupid.
- Okay, Stella did mess up and she should have known why what she did was a bad idea but Layla giving her the silent treatment is not going to help either. I hope that the fact that Musa is dealing with the loss of her mother can help the two of them patch things up as well. Maybe there will be a lesson in this for both of them.
- Now it makes sense why Musa turned into an ocean type of monster. And this is a good opportunity for Stella and Layla to find their balance again and help save Musa.
- Stella’s attacks are still hurting Musa. And wouldn’t it make more sense for Layla to use her powers to stop her? She could make a net with morphix that will be both more reliable and less harmful for Musa. Seriously, why do they always make the dumbest choices possible?
- You know what would have been more interesting? If the healing of the bond could only work one way and the selkie didn’t get her powers back. They could have brought in Galatea to also bond with her in order to restore her powers later on so that they could enter the Infinite Ocean. That would have been more creative. But nah.
- Stella’s sudden understanding of Layla really came out of nowhere. And it felt like Layla only forgave her because she didn’t want to fight with her anymore, not because she was truly okay with what Stella did. This could have been done so much better.
- These Sirenix quests are so convenient. They all have to do with places the girls know and clues they have history with. It would have been much harder if they had to go to planets they don’t know how to navigate and a better way to do more worldbuilding.
- Bloom really can’t take 10 days away from the Sky mess? They can literally lose their powers forever which could mean handing Tritannus victory but she is more concerned with Sky’s memory that can possibly only get better in the next ten days while she focuses on the mission? Oh, come on!
- They are really trying to push hard the idea that Bloom and Sky are destined to be together. Also, now that they found the shell, can Sky’s memory block disappear? It would make sense. Please, just end this already.
5x09:
- Really? Bloom is sensing that something is wrong with Daphne but Marion isn’t? This could have been a cool moment to bring in the fact that their parents are back. Especially since Bloom isn’t going to do shit about it. I mean, how dense is she that she didn’t recognize the clouds of pollution hanging around Daphne in her dream? Could have at least tried to contact Daphne to make sure she was okay. Especially since she knows that Daphne talks to her through her dreams and that has been A Thing since season 1. I just... cannot.
- I... don’t even know what to say about Stella here. On the one hand I understand her frustration as she feels like no one supports her passion for fashion but on the other hand... Stella, no! Brandon was right that she needs to consider other people’s feelings sometimes, though, I’d say none of Winx exhibited particularly high levels of empathy here except maybe Flora.
- Oh, Tecna. On the one hand I want to say that there shouldn’t be a reason to feel nervous face to face with Timmy when they get along so well, but on the other, we have all experienced what she’s talking about. Texting can be so much easier sometimes even if it can also be dangerous because it lacks the context of body language.
- Seriously? We’re gonna make it through all the girls’ planets. I said it before and I’ll say it again, but this Sirenix Quest sure is damn convenient. At least it is kinda ironic that the Gem of Empathy is on Zenith since they seem to rely on technology more.... Man, that could have been an awesome opportunity to make Zenith more three dimensional by explaining that they develop so much technology so that they could make the lives of everyone easier when they have digital assist aka their focus on technology is driven by empathy. But again, that is just too deep for this show.
- Oh, come on! Stella really turned into a three-year-old? Why the hell would there be an age-changer spell in the pin? This doesn’t make sense. And again, a fucking wasted opportunity. Stella was running low on empathy here so including her in the search for the Gem of Empathy would have provided way more character development than this shit right here. I would have sent Stella, Tecna and Musa to get the Gem and Bloom, Flora and Layla to go look for Daphne. Or better yet, Stella and Tecna for the Gem, Musa and Layla after Tritannus and Bloom and Flora to check on Daphne.
- Is Layla ever going to use her Harmonix powers? Seriously, she has transformed how many times now and I can’t remember her using any of her new magic.
- Why is Layla now smiling at Roy even though she never transitioned from “annoyed” to “friendly teasing”? I hate this so much.
- It must be weird for Brandon to see his girlfriend as a three-year-old while he is still twenty. Like, that will make for a fun conversation once the spell wears off.
- It is so goddamn obvious that Tritannus has been there! Like, did the clouds of pollution not tip you off?????? Honestly, why don’t any of them have normal rationalizing abilities? It is a simple deduction! You don’t need the selkies to tell you! Besides, didn’t they already say that he crossed over to Zenith? This is like looking between a needle and a single straw of hay and having to point out which is the needle and they are failing!
- Shoot, I thought “where the one looks over the many” was supposed to be something of a mathematical riddle or something that would have to make Tecna focus on the whole rather than the details. The throne thing? Just... meh.
- I would have preferred it if their test of empathy involved something that was already inside them and came from themselves rather than them being placed under a spell by the Gem. It could have brought out their most unempathetic thoughts but I still think there was a better way to do this, and a more emotional one.
- Seriously?????? I mean, FOR REAL?!?!?!?!?! THAT is what they had to do to get the gem???????????????????????????????????????????????????? They didn’t even resolve their issues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How did they prove they were worthy of having it. God, I hate this.
- How did the age-changer spell had any bearing on the plot or the characters? It literally didn’t do anything for Stella or Flora, Musa and Brandon for that matter. They had so many amazing opportunities in this episode and they were all wasted. I just... *frustrated sigh*
5x10:
- Is it just me or is the idea to put the Christmas filler episode right a couple of days before the deadline for the Sirenix Quest the worst idea ever? Well, not the worst because this show is just full of bad ideas but still somewhere up there with the big guys.
- I was gonna get incredibly angry if they’d made Christmas be a thing in the Magic Dimension but they got at least that right. And that way it’s cute that Bloom gets to introduce her friends to a new holiday. They all got so excited about the presents! Adorable! The only thing that would have made this better was if she’d invited Marion and Oritel to Mike and Vanessa’s as well to celebrate together.
- I was ready to hate this episode but it has actually caught my attention. Love how the Trix decided the magic of Christmas is literal magic and they want to steal it from Bloom. This is actually exactly what a funny filler episode should be like.
- Aww, a surprise Musa and Riven moment. That was adorable.
- Am I the only one who is getting Yu Gi Oh vibes from this monster? Okay, four monsters (Why four? That is so random. Three would have made more sense.). They just remind me too much of Blue Eyes White Dragon.
- You know what would be really cool? If Stella made a cage with mirrors at key places to reflect the light beam she shoots at the creatures so that it would keep running through the cage to stop them from reforming.
- Oh, wow. Faragonda showed up. I never thought that would happen. Not that she’s been much use. Like, you fought the Ancestral Witches! Surely, there has to be something you can do! Not to mention that how the hell did the Trix get magic of the darkest order? That’s just bullshit.
- You know what? I would be more worried about the fact that they may not be able to break the spell before they run out of water and food and other essentials. Like, the Christmas thing is upsetting but not a priority right now,
- Okay, the Trix are inside the ice dome but the ice dragons aren’t? That seems like a hole in their plan.
- The others got the spirit but they a little confused. Bloom doesn’t just miss Christmas but spending it with her family and they can’t give her that. Though, none of them didn’t even try to teleport. Depending on the way you do it, maybe they could have gotten out.
- This episode is kinda all over the place but at least it has that cool vibe from season 1 when they got to actually just chill around the school and do some fun stuff. Actually put time in just being friends. Oh, and the friendship charm bracelets are really cute! I love them.
- You know they don’t have what to put in an episode when they give the full transformations twice. Nice job, there.
- Making a hole in the dome does not sound like the best course of action because Winx could have just gotten out of there and forced the Trix to chase them. But no one thought of that.
- I feel second hand embarrassment on Icy’s behalf. If she ever gets to learn that she misunderstood about the magic of Christmas, that is. The way things are going, Bloom is gonna blast them out of the dimension without ever revealing that this was all for nothing.
- Well, Bloom could have just used her Dragon Fire to destroy the ice dragons the moment they appeared and none of that would have happened but why the hell would she do that? I have to say that I would have preferred it if Winx and the Specialists had gone to Gardenia instead of having Gardenia go to Alfea. Like, I get it that they wanted to make Christmas touch the Magic Dimension as well but Alfea has never celebrated a Zenithian-specific holiday for example or a Solarian one. It just makes the whole Winx universe a little too focused on Bloom again.
5x11:
- Omg, I am feeling so bad for Daphne. Hasn’t she suffered enough? Though, I have to say that I am at least glad Icy came up with a decent plan for counteraction this time even if it is cruel. At least it makes sense!
- Why the hell is the wind-rider competition held in Alfea? It should have been in Red Fountain but I guess the animators couldn’t be bothered to pull out their old animation of it and remember how to draw it.
- Bloom giving Sky a pep talk was kinda cute. I get why he would be nervous and it was cool that she did her best to help him. And that moment with throwing some harmless magic his way to show him his own reflexes was actually smart and hella cute as well. I just wish they wouldn’t have gone for the “he is the best Specialist ever to live” thing again but I’ll take it as his friends telling a white lie to soothe his anxiety.
- So the Trix are just being bullies for no reason at all. Also, they already used that invisibility spell when they messed with Tecna’s phone. Or at least it looked the same.
- Poor Kiko. Getting accused for something he didn’t do and then also being attacked by clones. But was it that only he could see them? Because otherwise, it should have tipped Bloom off that something’s wrong.
- They don’t need to remind us every time that there is no time to waste for the Sirenix Quest. We get it. And even if I had the episodes spaced out by weeks, I doubt I would forget that they have a time limit considering that this is not plot heavy and they have mentioned it, like, a million times already.
- Oh, they’re going to Linphea next. Look, even Tecna noticed that all the parts of the Quest have been on their home planets.
- Wow, Flora, you think the flower might be on your planet? Damn, girl, you’re such a genius. No one would have ever guessed. They have an ocean of flowers and she is still not sure? W.O.W.
- Love how it took Faragonda and Saladin a solid minute to interfere. Not like they were in a war or anything and should be 100% prepped to deal with crises. Why would you think that? And Griselda (and the other Alfea teachers) didn’t even get to do anything. Not to mention that Mirta has been studying at Alfea for a forth year now and she didn’t even try to fire at the beasts... You know, what could be considered an instinctive reaction.
- “Only one more keeper...”? Yeah, because there are only six-seven planets in the whole universe! (Didn’t he already get the powers of the selkie of Earth as well as from everyone’s home planets except for Bloom’s? Who’s gonna restore the Earth selkie’s powers... Wait, is it going to be Roxy? And does that mean we’re finally going to Domino this season?)
- I was gonna ask whatever Roy was gonna do without Layla being there but he isn’t there either. So why was he there the other times if not to drive the boat? They gave him one job to justify his presence and then they took that away as well.
- Funny how it is always the selkies of the girls that have gone on the Quest that appear and not any of the others. One of them (I am not even gonna bother to learn their names) said she could sense the presence of her fairy but still. Though, with their powers restored, I guess they could do that.
- Do I remember wrong or are Flora and her selkie the only ones that actually hugged? Cause that was kinda cute.
- Okay, Sky’s plan was good but did Bloom really need him to pull her out of the way? I am pretty sure she could have done that on her own since it was obvious what the plan was.
- If I were Stella, I’d be worried that a plant might eat me too. Having courage doesn’t mean that you can’t be afraid. It means that you find it in yourself to go on despite the fear. So I’d say Stella is courageous enough.
- Okay, but this plant looks like it was touched by Tritannus’ pollution and so did all the rest of the places from the Quest (except for Melody). So that means that what is happening wouldn’t have happened if not for him aka they aren’t actually completing the Quest because they are fighting Tritannus’ influence on the environment, not performing the tasks from the Quest.
- Good! Tecna and Layla are actually being strategical about this even though all Bloom wants is to hang out with the boyfriend. I wouldn’t mind if she didn’t just get targeted. But why the hell would she care about her safety - or Sky’s for that matter - when they can go on a romantic walk instead?
- Really? They need a translator? Flora has communicated with plants numerous times before. She should be able to understand what the Flower of the Depths is saying to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dear god, the writers are really trying to be as stupid as possible.
- Why didn’t Bloom try to transform before jumping against the Trix? Or at least shoot some magic at them? Once again, how are they still alive?
- Darcy’s powers are awesome and she’s using them well. I love how she pushed Musa in her own trap. But damn, it was harsh of Musa to try to cause the rocks to crush Darcy. I thought the Trix were supposed to be the cruel ones.
- Wow, I thought Icy would have at least a couple broken bones after Layla smashed her in the rock like that but nope. She’s fine.
- Okay, I actually think that Sky and Bloom are cute in this episode, what the hell? I like the fact that they decided to stop trying to get the past back to him. That may even actually help him remember when he’s not stressing and straining to do it. I thought that Bloom meant one of the memories she wants to keep was that of the shell they found, though. Wasn’t that soulmate special or something?
5x12:
- Icy is really not paying attention, huh? I mean, Tritannus saying that he would give her one more chance somehow didn’t sound too reassuring to me. He gave the Trix their powers so he could probably take them away any time he wants and then destroy them. Which sounded exactly like what he was planning to do before Icy convinced him to give her one more chance.
- Well, they noticed the pattern of the Quest running through all their home planets. They could have tried looking for the yellow reef on Domino before asking the guardian of the Sirenix box. Just to do something on their own, you know.
- Who let Bloom go in that dress? Didn’t Tecna say Stella was there as well? How could she let Bloom even put that thing on, let alone wear it to the Domino renewal celebration. Also, why the hell is that happening only now? It has been a season and a half since Domino was restored. I thought this would be the discussion of Tritannus.
- Love how they didn’t even redo the footage from SotLK and just slapped the different art style right in the middle of the one from season 5. Lazy as lazy gets.
- Um, wasn’t the plan to capture Bloom? And if they changed it to getting Marion and Oritel, why didn’t they try to do that when Bloom wasn’t there? They couldn’t get her but they will somehow get her parents who literally defeated the Ancestral Witches while Bloom and two or three of her friends plus Sky are also there? How does that make sense?
- Oh, come on! The dresses looked much better without the flowers. Also, you’re telling me that Stella made them fit the same theme as Bloom’s but she didn’t have anything to do with Bloom’s dress? This is just... ridiculous. Also, how do flowers relate to Domino? Sparks or even gems would have made better sense. A fire pattern even.
- Marion and Oritel are giving very different vibes from the ones in Magical Adventure and even SotLK (even though they had like five lines each in that one).
- Did Bloom suddenly forget that Sky does not remember how he saved the Sword? And she left him alone even though he doesn’t have his memories? Also, why do none of their parents know about that? And up until this point, there were always three of them going on the Quest. But now that Bloom is actually needed somewhere else she is going even though she could have left it to Stella, Layla and Flora? Come on!
- Didn’t the pendant sink in the ocean on Earth? Where are the selkies now? And how come Flora’s selkie decided that she will know who the pendant belongs to? You know, out of the infinite number of people in the whole universe. The fact that she just so happens to actually know is yet another too convenient convenience but still.
- The mimicry fish are adorable and I love them.
- Wait, can any selkie open any portal? I thought they could only open the portals that they were guarding. But then Winx shouldn’t have been able to pass from Domino back to wherever Tritannus attacked - Andros maybe?
- Love how Marion instantly jumped away when the Trix attacked despite how much her outfit must weigh. And you’re telling me that Oritel is the fighter between the two of them? Yeah, right. Just please, let her use her magic to stop the Trix. We know she has it! Don’t make her look helpless because she is far from it.
- Well, of course, even the oceans of Domino are the best and have the rarest fish even though it is the planet of the Dragon Fire and Andros is the center of all oceans. Makes perfect sense.
- Okay, Marion and Oritel are definitely giving waaaay different vibes from the ones in the movies but I have to say that I kinda like how fierce they are. Not @ Oritel’s “Still have it in you?” because duh, she obviously does and even more so than you do, Oritel, but other than that I love how smoothly they just switch from celebration to a fight that is potentially for their lives. Also, I like that Sky gets to fight with them... Or at least he was supposed to.
- Yes, the one time Bloom is there, the others are completely useless. Also, that thing is not a coral. Wasn’t the Gem supposed to be in the jaws of the coral, not whatever the hell this fish is. And how is it in its mouth? How does it not ingest it when it eats? This doesn’t make sense.
- Love whatever Marion did there with shooting magic out of her sword. However, I don’t like the fact that the writers have forgotten she has magic and is not defenseless without a sword. And how did that trick even work? She could have just turned around and seen that it wasn’t the real Oritel. Not to mention that if Oritel knows the Trix are descendants of the Ancestral Witches, Marion does too aka she should have known that one of them has illusion powers. Given the fact that they fought a whole war against Lysslis, I am pretty sure she has faced similar tricks before and should have known better.
- Please, tell me the creature was supposed to vanish and it wasn’t Bloom that vaporized it from inside. Also, I so totally knew the last gem would be green. It made perfect sense.
- At least they remembered that Oritel’s sword is supposed to be special because it has Dragon Fire in it.
- Bloom and Sky saving her parents “together” makes no sense because Sky doesn’t have magic. So it wasn’t him that helped her save them but the sword.
- Their declarations of love were kinda undermined by him remembering and in such stupid way. Like, all the progress he made in restoring their relationship and even remembering a little wouldn’t have mattered if he hadn’t gotten the pendant back. Aka his blockage wasn’t actually going away. It was still there which means that his emotions were not getting worked out.
- I know Marion and Oritel will not go help save Daphne even though that would be the only logical thing and I am so fucking mad about it, you don’t even know.
5x13:
- Oh, god! They changed even the intro and the 3D animation is as ugly as I remember it to be. Love how they also spoil the fact that the girls will get Sirenix in this episode. Not that the title of the episode doesn’t.
- I have beef with this recap. That fish that had the Gem of Courage was so totally not a shark. It just wasn’t. I’m no shark expert but that was definitely not a shark. It looks like some fish you can find in the depths (I don’t remember their name) but it sure as hell ain’t a fucking shark.
- What training? They need to go get Daphne! Also, they handled Believix just fine. If Alfea had given them proper education, they should be able to control any transformation. Like, those should operate according to some goddamn logic.
- If Daphne hadn’t already told him, then why did she do it now? Man, he should have just made her talk before he told the Trix to leave Domino. Now that they were no longer there, Daphne didn’t have any reason to talk. She must have known that Bloom would find their parents so Tritannus lost his leverage. This is so nonsensical.
- What the hell does it mean that they have to look inside themselves? How is that gonna lead them to lake Roccaluche? The only one connected to it is Bloom because Daphne is her sister. This is ridiculous.
- How big is that lake and why does it look exactly the same way that the sea does? There is a difference between sweet water bodies and salt water bodies and the life inside them, you know, writers.
- Why would there be a protection system to guard the source of a whole ass goddamn transformation? It makes much more sense that anyone could just walk in and destroy it in 0.3 seconds.
- They just had to say that they will keep exhibiting the three virtues the Gems represented in order to get the location of the source of Sirenix? Man, really? Ugh, that is just so... ridiculously frustrating.
- For people who can lose their magic the same day, they sure don’t seem to be worried. Lounging and all.
- They know Tritannus was there. Obviously that is the explanation as to why the selkies did not find them.
- Yes, they totally look like they’ve “got this”.
- I actually liked the fact that Bloom had to give up finding out where Daphne is in order to save the lake. Seeing all the panicked animals rush around really drives home what is going on because they will all die if the lake dries completely.
- Oh, I am totally going to cry over Daphne’s anguish here. This looks so brutal. But here’s a thought for you. The whole power of Sirenix was put under a curse, right? Then why didn’t the Trix get affected by it? And if the Sirenix power is removed from Daphne, shouldn’t the curse disappear as well?
- Love how they forgot about the part where Sirenix was cursed even before Tritannus messed with the source.
- I hate the Sirenix transformation. It is the ugliest one to me and why did they have to go and give them streaks? The 3D look was bad enough already. Only the Trix’ Sirenix design is worse than this. (No, actually whatever the hell is happening to the Trix in the end of season 7 is the worst design idea they have ever had but I haven’t watched that.)
- So they didn’t need the selkies to enter the Infinite Ocean? Then how come that is what Tritannus needed? What the hell is wrong with the logistics of this whole thing?
- Where did all these minions come from? Did whatever he did to the... stone? thingy poison the nearby water and turn all creatures into his minions? Didn’t that work only on merfolk? If so, the Infinite Ocean seems overpopulated.
- They totally could have had Marion and Oritel in this but once Tritannus took Daphne into the Infinite Ocean, they would have needed to let Winx handle the rescue mission because the two of them wouldn’t be able to enter the Infinite Ocean. And boom, problem solved. They don’t have to drag Oritel and Marion through every episode while they still could have shown that they cared. Idk what was so complicated about that.

Sorting Hat Chats: Oxventures
Hey look, I finally actually got a sorting post written! .... and it's one that I'm pretty sure interests absolutely nobody else, because I don't think anyone else in the Sorting Hat Chats community is into Oxventures, and also the reverse. But the brainwanderings will go where they wish and they don't ask me for permission, and I've been marathoning (and sleeping to) a lot of Oxventures lately, so let's go.
Just in case anyone does choose to take a look, I'll do a brief sum up of both system and canon, so that no one's lost. System first, because I have some other thoughts about canon I want to mention. The full rundown of the basics is here, but just so we're all on the same page:
A VERY BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE @sortinghatchatsSYSTEM
Your Primary house is your motivations, values, and why you do what you do.
Lion Primaries do it this way because their gut tells them it's right.
Bird Primaries do it this way because the system they've put together to guide them tells them this is what's right.
Badger Primaries do it this way because it's the best thing for the community as a whole, or for the most people.
Snake Primaries do it this way because it's the best thing for the people they prioritize.
Your Secondary house is how you approach the world, the methods that come most easily and naturally to you.
Lion Secondaries charge. They attack problems head-on and directly, and they're in their comfort zone when they are their authentic selves.
Bird Secondaries plan. They collect tools, skills, and information, and they're in their comfort zone when they're prepared for the situation.
Badger Secondaries toil. They put their nose to the grindstone or they build connections to get things done, and they're in their comfort zone when things call for steady, consistent work.
Snake Secondaries improvise. They're adaptive and quick on their feet, and they're in their comfort zone when they have the wiggle room to go with what comes to them.
Other terminology may come up as well. I will try and link to posts that explain it better if I end up using anything.
A VERY BRIEF EXPLANATION OF OXVENTURES
Oxventures is the D&D Actual Play show done by the youtube gaming channels Outside Xbox and Outside Xtra, DMed by Johnny Chiodini from the tabletop game channel Dicebreaker. They've been going since fall 2017, first in-person and now streamed. It is an extremely fun show with a group of very entertaining players that have been basically learning to play as it goes. If you're into D&D shows and not too bothered by a very hand-wavey approach to rules, I greatly recommend it.
There are, however, some things that make it difficult to sort. It's a comedy show, and while I don't think this is true for every comedy, in general, it's very easy for characterization to occasionally get passed over for a laugh. It's sometimes hard to tell what jokes are being thrown around OOC versus IC. And the D&D format means there is no going back and editing anything; characterization is developed on the fly, and there's already been discussion that talked about how some of the characters changed as they were being played. Also, it's action-driven -- you don't always get a lot of information on what's going through people's head, so motivation can be hard to pin down.
So it's a little difficult and I've gotten wobbly on a lot of them. Which makes it a great choice for my first sorting!
(...To be fair, it's my first sorting post. I've been watching this system and sorting things to myself for -- *checks when I first mentioned it* wait hold on five years? Really? Okay, cool. Excuse me while I sit and have a mental montage to How Far We've Come as I remember all the fine-tuning it's been through in that time.
Anyway, I've been sorting things to myself for five years, so I'm not new to this, I'm just new to trying to explain my whys, so I hope this comes out understandable. I'm sorry for the rambling, because we're already 750 words in and I haven't even started.)
ANYWAY LET'S GET TO THE SORTING.
Corazón de Ballena, human pirate rogue Corazón, oh Corazón, what... do I even do with you. He's clearly not a Badger -- fairness and other people's needs are not his priority. Between the obvious Jack Sparrow riff and the "pirate seeking glory" thing, my instinct is to say a Lion Primary, probably a Gloryhound Lion in specific. I could see a Bird Primary, just because there is something extremely constructed-feeling about Corazón -- I think his truth would look very Snake-like, prioritizing himself and the people he chooses, but I could see it.
But I'm going to lean into a full Snake Primary, I think. While he doesn't care about most people, he does care very much about the people who do matter to him -- see his whole complicated relationship with his father, even after his father tried to kill him; see his burning down a guy's house because he's mean to Prudence; to some extent, see his attempt to help end his old crew's curse. He puts people above anything else, but only the people he chooses to (or where can't help it, in his father's case) I think he'd almost like people to believe that he's Burned and doesn't care about anyone else, but he very much is not, though he doesn't seem to let new people into the circle often or easily, either. I could still very much see a Gloryhound Lion, but in the end I think if asked to put the party first or fame and fortune first -- he would complain, he would never let them hear the end of it, but he would also choose the party every single time.
For Secondary: Corazón would really want people to think he's a Snake. If he could read the descriptions and pick his own, I'm pretty sure he'd say he was a Snake. Adaptable, cunning, deceitful -- and it's not that he's not these things, but the way it manifests itself feels much more like a rapid-fire Bird Secondary. He's analytical, he learned magic entirely from books, and I haven't actually counted, but I would bet you that he makes more investigation rolls than anyone else. While his quickly thought up plans do work, they often tend to rely on things he already knows -- disguise self and minor illusion come up often, hiding and evading, etc. He seems to be one of the party that gets the most non-combat use out of his various magical abilities. It's a very quick and jack-of-many-trades style of Bird, but it's still very Bird.
Dob, half-orc bard Dob is quite possibly the loudest loyalist primary... just, that I have ever seen, ever. To start with, I'm just going to drop this quote here: "I know there's good in you, jailor I just met!"
How about the way that he's first introduced as a bard who goes from town to town playing the lullaby his lost sister used to sing to him, searching for her. Or his habit of, to quote TV Tropes, "engaging in random acts of adoption". Or the time he tried to learn spells to apologize to the dead orphans. Or how he still managed to forgive the skeletons that killed the orphans. Or the time he forgave the cult that almost got them all killed. Or giving the cultists (from a different cult) relationship advice. Or the time he ended up listening to the jailor's marriage woes. Or....
Look, I could keep going but I think we've got enough examples. So: Badger or Snake? On the one hand he definitely seems to worry about saving his particular people first when there's danger... but, there's a level of guilt about innocent people who have died on his watch, and that habit of taking in random people on multiple adventures, that really makes me lean towards a Badger Primary. Dob seems to genuinely care about everyone they cross as a default, and of all of them, he's the first I can see coming to the aid of an enemy who he has no prior positive experiences with.
As for a Secondary, Dob is the master of quick plans, quicker lies, and steamrolling NPCs into going along with things. The entire party ends up thinking on their feet more often than not, but he seems to do his best work that way, as a Snake Secondary often does. Sometimes he goes so fast that he forgets something and makes a mistake -- which is how "don't be a Dob" has become a thing -- but his impulsive ideas actually work out more often than it doesn't, and he's also very good at connecting with a wide variety of people. On the page for Snake/Slytherin Secondaries, the SHC site says,
"Slytherins will adapt to their own best advantage without thinking about it. They’ll walk into a situation and things will work out to their benefit without them quite knowing what happened or what they did to influence it."
-- and doesn't that just fit with Dob's ridiculous amounts of luck?
He does seem to spend a fair amount of time in his neutral state, or at least adapting in a non-conscious kind of way. There is something generally blunt about Dob a lot of the time, enough that I considered Lion pretty heavily -- but in the end, he works best when he's running on the fly and making shit up, in a way that feels extremely Snake to me. And he's not only so good at lying, but so quick to default to it, that Lion doesn't feel accurate.
Egbert the Careless, dragonborn paladin Poor Egbert, the worst paladin. While his original order really seems to prioritize a very classic Paragon Lion Primary, Egbert barely seems to have a model of one -- it's more of a performance, which is being chipped steadily away by the rest of the party. He tries, but I can't see a genuine Lion Primary from his background killing people so casually. Or hitting an old man with a cursed mace over and over until he turns into a seal. And then keeping the seal as a pet. Or just... saying "maybe crime is good!" because he likes the food at the crime den. He's trying, but he's really not good at it. So the question remains: what is he?
I think it's hard to place him because, one, he really want to be that Lion. And second, whatever he is, I think the values that motivation is set on are... kind of in flux? I don't think he's super burned; I think he might be lightly charred at best. But: if he's a Bird, he's in the process of losing the truth of "whatever the Order of the Dragon Door says is right" to something that comes more from the party and probably more genuinely. If he's a Badger, he's in the process of changing communities. If he's a Snake, the Order is getting pushed more and more out of his inner circle, replaced by the party.
I was leaning Badger, but the more I think about it, I think that's the remnants of the attempt to play Lion. I think Egbert's a Snake Primary who is starting to shed his old skin. (There's like three layers of bad joke in that, and I'm sorry.) The Lion priorities made that Snake look a little more Badger-y, but he does so, so many things that just don't strike me as caring deep down about need. Like the thing where he turned an old man into a seal. I just keep looking at that incident and I either need to completely ignore that incident -- which is hard, when Seal Gaiman is still hanging around -- or go with something else. His reaction to Dana's bigotry in Snow Mercy does feel a little more Badger-y to me... but that could still be that Lion Performance flavoring, and/or a symptom of how the party as a whole gets pissed about anti-tiefling sentiment coming out in sympathy of another maligned race. I also feel like a Badger would be working a little more actively on atonement and stop getting distracted.
He is, however, a very loud Lion Secondary. While the party as a whole does a lot of ploys that involve deceit or talking their way into things, Egbert is rarely the one doing that part. He doesn't bother with subtlety, or with doing any of the many things he can as a paladin, which is how we got the whole glorious "you've been able to teleport for how long?" moment. He does sometimes manage to make connections that move the story along, and he always does it by being himself.
But most of all, I can't think of a better word to describe how Egbert attacks a situation than charging. I'm just going to quote again from the site:
"their problems are met head on rather than subverted, negotiated, or cajoled. They have an efficiency so direct it’s almost combative."
And that seems like Egbert to a T.
Merilwen, wood elf druid Merilwen is a Badger Primary whose version of "people" is "animals, my community, and also I guess these four now". She doesn't really seem to care about what would traditionally be considered "people", and Ellen (who plays her) has spoken about how Merilwen's morals towards non-animals is pretty much entirely influenced by the party -- but with the things she cares about she strikes me as extremely Badger. She's absolutely ready to throw down everything for the party, but when they're not in danger from it, she will also absolutely fight the rest of them for an animal -- see that incident where she talked everyone out of fighting the Owlbear. "Animals are hurt" or "you hurt my friends" is the fastest way to bring out her viscous side.
She could also maybe be a Snake who includes all animals in her circle, but: one, I very much feel like she'd choose whether to prioritize her friends or an animal over who needs her more. Two, the way she interacts with her family and her community in Elf Hazard seems very Badger to me. Her worry about not being able to see her family again, her unwillingness to disappoint them and decision to take a new name to make them happy, even after the danger is past. Things like Merilwen's Meat-Grinder also strike me this way -- specifically, her willingness to do massive damage to save the party and subsequent discomfort with having done it, even though she doesn't care that much about the people who were hurt even after having done it. "Fair and loyal" seems like a good way to sum up her morality in general. Her being so close to Dob and understanding each other so well also adds to this (even if a lot of that likely has to do with Ellen and Luke (who plays Dob) being so close as much as anything, but if I try to separate out things that are OOC-influence I will be here forever).
I'm torn between the foundational Secondaries for her: Bird, or Badger. There is something about her likelihood to fall back on "I turn into a [cat/bear/octopus]" as a plan that feels a little Bird-like to me -- that fallback on the favored, most well-used, best-understood tools, even in situations where it takes a little forcing to make them fit. On the other hand, she seems to be the one most likely to see a job that's not being done as part of the plan, and go fill that role. She's certainly steady, trustworthy, quiet, and consistent. I don't think she has a problem with shortcuts on many things, but could see her raising objections about things she actively cares about. She also often solves things by connecting with animals, which fits when you consider her people/community largely being animal-based. I'm still a little back and forth on this, but in the end, I'm going to lean towards a Badger Secondary.
Prudence, tiefling warlock I'm having a hard time putting my finger on Prudence. I think this is partly Jane's play style -- I feel like she's the least likely to go into what's going on in Prudence's head or why she's doing things, and she doesn't really have a driving goal we're aware of except "do things to make Cthulhu pleased", but that's mostly along the way. She's not a Badger. I would lean towards not a Lion; I guess it's possibly she's a Lion whose gut morality is about hedonism, "I should have what I want", or something like that, but I really don't get the impression that she has much of an internal morality overall. "Some things are just wrong and you can't talk your way out of it" (to quote the Lion/Gryffindor Primary page) absolutely does not sound like something Prudence would ever thing.
So again we're between the decided Primaries: Bird or Snake? I could see her being a Bird, but I have no idea what her truth is at this point. Still, I want to lean towards Snake Primary, specifically one that was burnt. We're going into how-IC-was-this-anyway territory here again, but there's a moment early on, in Brawl of the Wild, where Jane is narrating Prudence hurling herself in front of two of the others and stops mid-narration to ask "wait, why am I doing that" -- it feels incredibly like a Snake who's found themselves unburning while they weren't paying attention and now is trying to figure out how this happened. She's also pretty open with how fond she is of the party, pleased as punch when Corazón burns down the house of a guy who's an asshole to her, even more pleased when Egbert seems corruptible, seems genuinely happy that the group has gotten more lax about killing, and of course there's "You'll never leave me, Corazón, I'll kill you first" and hugging the Egbert-statue after he's been kidnapped when no one can see her.
But more than the party, what makes me lean towards Snake is her relationship with her warlock patron. There's nothing cold, nothing business-like, it's not even worshipful: Cthulhu-dad is kind of a joke, but... it's also not? Even if the actual fatherly-ness of it can be read as joking, she still genuinely seems to have warm, loving feelings for him, and that particular set-up really strikes me a loyalist thing.
(That gives us an all-loyalist party, but honestly, considering they're not the most moral people around and how quickly they all bond... that kind of works?)
Bird Secondary -- her plans tend to be the most practical, she has her favored methods for handling things, and her interest in all things magic strikes me as very Bird-with-a-favorite-thing. Her Bird seems pretty good at reading people, too, particularly knowing the party's strengths -- which is often chaos and making things up. She's not quite a rapid-fire as Corazón, but she's pretty good on her feet if need be... it's just that her lack of interest in what's morally right means the plan she usually pulls out is "eldritch blast". To be fair, it usually works.
IN SUMMATION:
Corazón: Snake Primary/Bird Secondary (possible Snake performance)
Dob: Badger Primary/Snake Secondary (possible Badger model)
Egbert: Snake Primary (attempting to model the Order and possibly Shattershield's Lion Primary, which comes off weirdly Badger-ish in the end)/Lion Secondary
Merilwen: Badger Primary (whose "people" are animals, the elf community she grew up in, and now the Oxventurers)/Badger Secondary
Prudence: Unburning Snake Primary/Bird Secondary
OXVENTURE IN THE DARK BONUS ROUND:
Very recently they've begun an Oxventure spin-off series, playing Blades in the Dark instead. We're only two episodes in, and since part of the plan is to rotate who's in each episode, most of them are only in one -- and since we've gotten so little of the new group, and so much can change as the players learn their characters and find their feet, I can't confidently sort them right now. But I think it'd be interesting to share some initial impressions and see how they hold up down the line. Spoilers for both episodes if anyone's behind, I'll put Lillith and Barnaby last just to be sure.
Edvard: If Edvard the inventor is not a Bird Secondary, I will eat my hat. I could see him going the way of the traditional SHC impulsive scientists who do things For Science, and ending up in Lion/Bird territory, or going towards Bird/Bird; at the moment I don't think he'll be a loyalist, but we'll see!
Zillah: I think we know less about Zillah than anyone else at this point, but we do know that, one, she's doing crime to get money for her family, and two, she seems pretty level-headed. I'm thinking maybe a Lion Secondary, leaning away from Bird Primary but at this point could see anything else.
Kasamir: Between his class/playbook being about having his fingers in a lot of crime pies, Johnny saying he's not really good at anything besides crime, and his slight mentor-y vibe in episode one, I'm getting Badger Secondary or Bird Secondary vibes -- leaning Badger right now, but we'll see. (I'm also getting Mozzie-from-White-Collar-but-more-physical vibes, but I cannot find the sorting that Moz used to be under, unfortunately. I want to say either Badger/Bird or Bird/Badger.) He doesn't strike me as a Lion Primary at this point, but we'll see.
Lillith: I was going to say Bird Secondary because she's leaning so hard into the intellectual, but so far she has tried to solve problems by befriending a ghost girl and convincing the workers to start a union so.... I'm feeling some Badger/Lion or Lion/Badger vibes coming off her at this point. She might slide into a more Bird-y role in the future, or it might end up looking more like a model.
Barnaby: Despite having gotten through two episodes now basically saving the day by being himself, I don't get Lion Secondary vibes from him -- actually, I'm thinking he could end up a Badger Secondary, just extremely far on the Courtier Badger side of the scale, and one that’s very full of himself. Not sure on that yet, though. Primary: no idea, but probably not Badger.
#sorting hat chats#oxventure#i should probably wait til it's not 6:30 am; reread this; and make it shorter#but screw it! have my rambling!#if you read all this you get a cookie#but it's out of my head now at least#there are many other sortings i'd like to do#we'll see if i ever get to them

Prank gone wrong?
BNHA x gn! Reader
In which the bakusquad and Y/n prank bakugou, but it goes wrong in so many ways.
Warnings: cursing, Y/n having a little crush on everyone 0.o (that hoe), maybe OOC characters?
[[stupid decisions start......
NOW]]
"im sorry, bro. but I can’t risk it.” Kirishima said, shaking his head in shame. I sighed, knowing if he said no, everyone will follow with him.
“come on kirishima! you’re supposed to be the dwane johnson of the group,” i tried convincing him. Currently, I’m trying to convince the bakusquad to prank Bakugou, because he did something real dirty to me
“Oi, airhead!” Someone yelled to me. I turned around and saw Bakugou standing at one side of the door turning his head to the left to show that he found something.
“whatcha need, my man?” I said, pointing my fingers out and making little guns. “pew pew, right?” He just gritted his teeth and bit down a snarky remark. “do it for the vine,” he kept on repeating to himself quietly.
“you like the Backstreet Boys, right?” He said with a smirk plastered on his face, knowing all too well of my obsession.
“like them? i LIVE for them! i mean, have you seen them? i’d turn down even todo, my beautiful babay, for them. wait, are they here?!?! bitch, move!” I said, running faster then Kaminari saying something stupid. Already, I’m gasping for air, even if I’ve only been running for a few seconds. But the time I reached the door, I realized that Bakugou was acting a little too noice, and that he also had his phone out.
But I noticed too late, and there was that clear stuff people use to put on for food right in front of my face, and my face went right up against it. Since that happened, my body went straight forward, leaving my head behind, and making me fall. I could hear Bakugou’s laughter in the background, and he’s having trouble breathing from how much he’s laughing.
“if you don’t start running, you’ll have another reason why you won’t breathe.” I said, still laying flat on the ground. I could hear his laughing stop, but he just walked over to me, crouched down, and started talking.
“that’s what you fucking get for putting foot cream in my moisturizer, dumbass.” He half yelled, half said. “what? you don’t get the reference?” I said, still trying to catch my breath because I’m out of shape. Then there was a silence.
“...”
“...”
“now you pay for your sins, okay?” I said, but before Bakuhoe can say anything I tackled him on the ground, so I was on top of his stomach
“YOU HOE!! HOW CAN YOU DO THIS TO ME?!?! I THOUGHT I HAD A CHANCE OF MEETING MY DREAM BAND— no, I kNEW I HAD A CHANCE BUT YOU FOOLED ME!!” I yelled, while shaking his collar of his shirt with my hands. He started yelling his own insults while trying to get me off of him, but I wasn’t planning on getting off anytime soon because we’re talking about tHE BACKSTREAT BOYS!
“get off me, you crazy bitch!”
“oh, you haven’t seen crazy yet!”
“h-hey Y/n’s- A-AH, sorry!” Someone said, making me stop treating Bakugou like he was a rag doll and turn around, seeing a blushing Izuku. “oh, hey Izuku!” I said, waving to him, but Bakugou took this moment to shove me off of him.
“i-i’ll leave you g-guys to it,” Izuku said, running of to wherever, then hearing someone yell, ‘get some’ to Bakugou. Then I facplanted.
“yeah, I still need to tell the poor cinnamon roll that I was trying to kill Bakugou. but, that’s the reason why I need your help! we’re doing him a favor, if anything.” I said, sweat dropping. I see Kirishima blushing, then I pinch his checks and say,
“Don’t worry, you’re still my favorite shark boy.”
“idk about you guys, but count me in!” Kaminari said,
“did you just say I don’t know in—”
“shhhhshshhshshhh.” Kaminari said, shoving his whole hand on Seros mouth, but then Kaminari pulled away quickly when Sero licked it. “that’s straight up nasty, dude.”
“Kaminari, I don’t know if it’s a good idea—” Mina started, “Mina, yes, it’s a very stupid idea, but with a great outcome!” I started, then they all shhhhhhed me because we’re all in the dorms, standing outside of the spawn of Satans door. “okay.” She said, shrugging, “we’re all going to die someday, and it’ll probably be by Bakugou anyways,”
“that’s the spirit!” I said, clapping my hands together, but the two people who actually had common sense were still on the edge about it.
“i’ll pay you guys $50.”
“deal.” Sero said. “wait, but I want $50,” Kaminari whined, “shhhshhhshsh, we can’t always get what we want, Kami,” I whispered, patting him on the shoulder.
“that’s not very manly, Y/n.”
“well, you gotta do what you gotta do, ami right?” I said, but they just left me hanging.
Then I pulled out the trusty black sharpie marker that I always keep on myself, even though I tell Aizawa otherwise.
“okay guys, this day will forever go down in history as the stupidest death, got that? okay.” I said, starting to open the door. “Wait!” Sero yelled, holding out his hand. And I thought that he had common sense. Everyone looked at him and gave him the are-you-serious look. “we need to name it.” He said, pointing to the weapon. “hmmm, I approve.” I said, then I hold out the marker on my hand. “okay guys, we gotta-”
“satan,”
“jesus,”
“benjamin,”
“mark.”
“what kind of name is Benjamin?” I asked to whoever said it, then Kaminari replied. “i dunno, isn’t he the one who invented it?”
“huh, that name doesn’t seem so bad now.” I said, “benjamin it is then.” As I said that, I pointed the marker to the sky like it was a sword. I turned around and opened the door, then looking around Bakugous room. Hmmm, his room smells nice, I thought. I looked back at everyone and saw Kaminari touching everything, Sero poking bakugous face, and Kirishima and Mina both playing sticks with eachother.
“guys!” I whisper shouted, and in a instant they all stood in front of me while saluting, like they are in military school. “oh? i like this. but anyways, we’re here for one thing, and one thing only. and that is to ruin bakugous pretty face with sharpie.” I said, and they all nodded in response.
“yes ma’am, sir!” They said. then they all went where Bakugou was sleeping, and I followed with them, then I started drawing on his face. I started off with a unibrow, that made Sero and Kaminari giggle like little girls in preschool. Then I let Kirishima draw a mustache on him, but it looked like he was a pedo because of the style. Mine wanted it to be extra special and gave him a cat nose, whiskers, and drew little ears on his forehead. We were all laughing at this point, then we heard it.
Brumphhhhh
Bakugou falls off the bed, and wakes up in the process. We all just stand there, in either awe or disgust.
“holy shit.”
“he let it rip.”
“that shouldn’t be able to come out of someone’s, ya know.”
“g-guys- i think he’s awake.” Kaminari said, shaking in his boots. Bakugou starts getting up, with a red face. None of us know if he got up because he fell, his fart, or because of our talking. But boy, he looks mad. Or flustered.
“what thE HELL ARE YOU DUMBASSES DOING IN HERE?!?!” He yelled, his blanket falling off to reveal his..... Mickey Mouse shirt.
“the real question is.... why are you wearing a Micky Mouse shirt?” I said, pointing my finger to him, trying to hold back my snickers.
“You all have 3 seconds before I kill you all.” He said, breathing heavily.
“aw, shite,” I said, “well guys, I wish you luck and don’t die.” I said, waving them goodbye while sprinting out, but of course someone had to follow,
“hey hey hey,” Kaminari said, “i hope you don’t mind that I brought everyone else too.” I looked behind him and saw everyone else.
“GET YOUR ASSES OVER HERE!!!”
“mommyyyyy!”
“can we just talk about how Y/n topped Bakugou—”
“i still want my $50!”
“or that he let out a fart so loud it woke up the giants from their million year nap?”
“i still need to tell my mom about that time I killed my goldfish and I blamed it on the dog!”
“since we’re making confessions, im gay!”
“we already know that,”
“wat—”
“guys, my arm is bleeding and I don’t know what to do or how it got there.”
“wait,”
“brooooooooo,”
“okay, I need to take a breather.” I said bending down and putting my hands on my knees to hold myself up. Everyone else does the same, until we remember what we were running from.
“YOU CANT GET AWAY FROM ME NOW!!”
“aHHHHHH,”
Hey y’all! Thank you for making it this far! I hope you enjoyed, and make sure you leave a comment and hopefully a note🤞 Hope you have a good day <3

His lucky charm
Word Count: 2,396
Pairing: Oikawa x fem!reader
Warnings: swearing, ooc Oikawa
Oikawa always got what he wanted. Always, without any doubt. That included you, even though the way he got you was a bit more complicated than he liked.
You were in the same class and you were very well aware of his reputation and status as a volleyball player. Ever since you watched the first volleyball match in which he played, you were fascinated and made it a habit to attend every single one of them. The only thing that irked you were his fangirls, you couldn´t blame them for being so over the top, but you could barely concentrate on the game with their screaming.
And they pushed you to the side all the time so that you didn´t have a good view anymore, from that point you made sure to be early for the matches to have a decent chance to get a good space.
You never would have thought to get this invested in something, you got by good in school, but weren´t in any club since nothing really interested you that much. Instead you tried out different things and hobbies in the club times.
Oikawa thought it was funny how you never talked to him about the games, after all you caught his eye ever since school started. During lessons you sat next to each other and had to work together a lot, talking to you was nice and easy, but it irritated him how you never mentioned that you knew him. In reality you didn´t think much about it, you knew that Oikawa knew very well what a great player he was and you didn´t see any reason to boost his ego any more. And, no matter how stupid that sounded, you wanted to get to know him beyond the persona he portrayed on the field.
Sure, you were just making small talk, as you would when you worked together on homework, but nothing more than that. He didn´t talk about himself, which was very hard for him, but he didn´t want to scare you away. You were the only person he made an effort with to not seem like an asshole.
Well, you´d find out his true colors sooner or later anyways.
After a while though your conversations seemed to fade out, they got boring and you talked less, concentrating more on the school work.
You hated yourself for it, but you noticed that you were just like all the other girls who had a crush on him. Not that you minded the crush, he was very attractive and you weren´t blind. But it was only his looks, so you didn´t think much of it. However lately the thought of getting to know him better seemed very appealing to you, even though you knew he wasn´t interested in you that way and you wouldn´t have a chance anyway with such a great competition.
“When´s your next game?” you casually asked, it couldn´t hurt to try, right? So far this was just a normal topic.
Oikawa´s eyes sparked, a smile plastering his face.
“I didn´t know you were interested in volleyball” he tilted his head, eyeing you curiously.
“Well, I wouldn´t say I´m interested in it, but I like watching your team play” you said honestly, you didn´t know what it was what it got you hooked, you just couldn´t look away.
“Aww, I´m flattered (Y/N)-chan!” he teased you, his smile turning into a mischievously grin.
“You know I said your team and not you specifically, right? If I did your fangirls would be all up my ass” you chuckled, not wanting to imagine the rage of all the girls who adored Oikawa to an obsessive level.
Oikawa laughed, it was a genuine one, you always managed to surprise him, maybe you were more interesting than he thought in the beginning of the year.
Well, if he was being honest with himself he already knew that ever since you first caught his eye at his games, you were the only one that counted for him, the way you intently watched the ball and the players, he liked to imagine that you only watched and cheered for him and that thought, as stupid as it sounded, it spurred him on. He always played best when you were in the stands.
He thought he´d never see you again that one time he saw his fangirls push you to the side, which angered him, but he was quite surprised when he saw you fight back and show up at the next game earlier than them with a triumphant smile on your face.
Yes, you amused him, somehow you seemed to genuinely care, unlike his other fans, well, he couldn´t really call you a fan of him personally even though the thought of that was irresistible.
“They don´t stand a chance against you” he noted, meeting your eyes. Somehow he seemed livelier today, but you couldn´t figure out why, it vexed you.
“Because I will fight to the blood with them over you? Damn, you really do have a high opinion of yourself” you laughed, crossing your arms.
“You´re so mean, (Y/N)-chan!” he pouted.
“Poor Oikawa, should I call your fangirls so they can kiss it better?” you teased him, yes, you were very interesting indeed and it excited him.
“Call me Tooru, and I please don´t call them, I´d much rather spend time with you” he flirted with you, making you laugh out loud.
“I´d rather not, thank you very much” you remarked funnily, you wouldn´t fall for a guy like him, you´d only get hurt like that and you knew it.
“You´re breaking my heart, (Y/N)-chan!” he clutched his chest for dramatic effect.
“Oh boo hoo” you mocked him.
“I´m gonna make you fall for me, you´ll see” he stated, making you laugh even more.
“Good luck with that, seriously I´m rooting for you” you joked, not admitting defeat to a guy like him, having a crush on him was already bad enough but actually fall for him? Hell no. That would mean he´d have a great personality, not be an asshole and actually be able to care about someone other than himself, in other words: it´d be impossible.
In the next weeks he kept you updated on the following games he´d play, even going as far as inviting you to watch him train. Something you said yes to in hopes that his coach would say no.
Unlucky for you, he said it was okay as long as you didn´t distract him too much, to which you scoffed. As if you were able to distract him.
You brought your homework along with you and did it in the time the team warmed up.
“Goddammit, isn´t it enough for you to have girls watch you when we play? Do you really have to bring them here too now?” Iwaizumi noted disapprovingly, making Oikawa pout.
“Well, I´m only bringing her here. She´s different than the others, I like talking to her” he admitted.
“Oh my god, you actually like her, don´t you?” Iwaizumi laughed at his hopeless friend.
“Yes and I´m gonna make her like me too” he told him determinedly.
Iwaizumi laughed even louder now, making Oikawa pout and whine at him.
“That´s never gonna happen” Iwaizumi stated, shaking his head. His friend had many fangirls that adored him, yes, and he was good with his words too, but being in an actual relationship with him would never work out, he´d just get bored with the girl and honestly, she´d break up with him as soon as she realized how much time volleyball actually took in his life. So falling in love with Oikawa really was fruitless.
The coach announced that the training would now begin and you put your homework inside your bag and watched them play. It was so magical every time you did, it felt like nothing existed in the world besides the players, the ball and the net. It was amazing seeing how all of them worked so well together, how everything was connected.
It brought a smile to your face and if you were being honest with yourself your attention was more on Oikawa than on anyone else, you told yourself it was because he was the setter and therefore the most important part in the game, but deep inside of you, you knew better.
“You know, I hate to admit it but I don´t think your chances are that bad” Iwaizumi told Oikawa after the training was over and they were getting changed.
“What made you change your mind?” Oikawa asked.
“Didn´t you see the way she was smiling at you?” he said.
“I mean I did...but that doesn´t mean anything, right?” he asked hopefully.
“It didn´t look like it meant nothing...and it´s not like you to be so pessimistic” Iwaizumi noticed.
“I know, but I really want her to like me! And don´t you dare laugh at me because of that” Oikawa always got what he wanted, he wasn´t used to anything else but with you it was different. You actually made him fairly insecure about his flirting and charm, maybe he really wasn´t good enough. Why did he even try? Even if you happened to like him, which to Oikawa was impossible, you´d just leave him anyway. Maybe he should just give it up.
He hated those thoughts of his, but they were all blown away once he saw you waiting for him.
Iwaizumi already went on ahead.
“What are you still doing here? I thought you already left” Oikawa asked, it was unusual for him to be so down, you had to admit you were a bit worried about him.
“I wanted to wait for you so we could go home together...” you mumbled, choking back your pride. Maybe you did like him more than you thought, for a part of you it was the worst thing that could happen, but for another part of you it didn´t seem so bad suddenly.
With him looking so sad, you knew you could say something like this without being judged or teased.
“Really? That´s so sweet of you, (Y/N), I´d like that” he smiled at you softly, you didn´t know what it was but something about him changed. A whole lot. And it scared you. Did he have a bad day? What was the cause for his sudden mood change?
You didn´t want to press the matter and intrude his privacy like that so you two started walking alongside each other.
“I liked watching you train today, thanks for inviting me” you smiled up to him, startling him a bit.
“You can come watch more often if you´d like” he quietly said, it was more like a wish than an invitation.
“I´d love to, but I don´t think your coach would like it that much” you admitted, as much as you loved watching Oikawa, but you couldn´t help but feel like you didn´t belong there. After all the coach made it clear not to distract and disturb the boys. So you were trying your best to be quiet and unobtrusive. You didn´t want to risk getting on the coach´s nerves.
“Well, he can´t really say anything against it, he knows I play better when you´re around” he stated neutrally, but it still managed to make your heart jump.
“But how do you know that? Today was the first time I was in your training” you thought out loud.
Oikawa chuckled lightly. “Do you really think I didn´t notice you in the games?” he told you, making you blush. So he really was looking at you, you didn´t just imagine things. Somehow that made you feel really warm.
“Now, now, I thought you knew better than to get distracted by your fangirls in a game?” you grinned, lightening up the mood.
“You know I can´t help it when you stick out so much, (Y/N)-chan, how could I not notice you?” he flirted back, you were getting dizzy, he was way too good at this.
In the course of the next weeks you grew closer, you were allowed to watch him train more often and you two flirted more too, it was clear to see that something was definitely going on, the only question was when one of you would have the guts to confess.
Normally you would have wanted to tell him early on to have it out of the way, but every time you wanted to tell him, your throat went dry and you couldn´t get a word out.
Sometimes being around him was too much, you could get lost in his eyes forever and it happened more than once that the two of you were just gazing at each other without saying a word for multiple minutes.
The day of the next match was growing closer and you wanted to wait with your confession until it was over, but you couldn´t take it anymore. It was too much, you had to get it out.
So when you and Oikawa were going home together you breathed in and then stopped.
“Can you wait for a second, I need to tell you something” you gulped when he looked at you expectantly.
“Remember how you said you´d make me like you? Well, you succeeded. And I know now isn´t the right time, but I just couldn´t keep it to myself anymore” you spoke way too fast and watched Oikawa´s expression turn from curious to straight up shocked, it drained all color from your face, so he didn´t like you back...why ever that came as a surprise to you.
“Seriously? And it´s not because I´m good at volleyball or because of my looks?” he asked, a big smile on his face. You shook your head.
“First of all, you´re not only good at volleyball, you´re amazing, don´t sell yourself short. And I like you for you, your looks are just a bonus” you explained.
“You know, (Y/N), I´ve liked you for a while now, but I always thought it was just like a normal crush and that the feeling would go away, but the more time I spent with you, the stronger it got. I´m so happy you like me back” he announced, putting his arms around you and pulling you close to hug you.
You practically melted into it, clinging to him and resting your head on his chest.

So, yesterday I accidentally stumbled into this pose drawing reference post: https://twitter.com/Dorem631/status/1387228603474083846
I think all of the reference pics kinda suits for Batarou! But of course the facial expressions could be changed to fit their own personality better so it wont seems too OOC, lol.
These are basically my first impressions about the images imho, consider : •1st pic is Batarou Childhood Friends AU. •2nd pic is Badd with Monster Garou. •3rd pic is Batarou High School AU. •4th pic is Batarou Webcomic Post-MA arc.
----------------
-- First Picture --
I thought the 1st pic could be when Garou and Badd were kinda like, spending time somewhere outside on summer day, then one of them showing their softer side in front of the other, and it was the exact moment he just realized that he has a big crush for his bestfriend 😳💘💕
I've got 2 versions: •Badd, who usually looks grumpy and tough, was smiling brightly in front of Garou. Garou was lovestrucked and smittened by Badd's cute angelic smile, then trying so hard to deny the fact that he has fallen in love with his childhood hero and he wanted Badd to smiling more often only for him.. •Garou, who still retained his pure softer side thanks to Badd being his childhood hero and BFF, was smiling full of joy towards Badd. Badd immediately melting on the inside by Garou's adorable smile then slowly realizing he was in love with him all along..
-----------------
-- Second Picture --
Personally I like the 2nd pic the Most, because it would be so soft if Badd was holding monster Garou's face with such tenderness to calm him down, reassuring Garou that he's alright so no need to go berserk anymore. Bonus point if it was happened after some battle gone wrong in their mission and Badd got injured. But don't worry he's fine, though! That's why Badd tried to stop Garou from rampaging after he transformed out of rage.
Or maybe Badd was saying that he will always loving Garou no matter what he is, monster or not. Whereas Garou seems like he was staring calmly at Badd in silence, yet on the inside he has been very touched by Badd's genuine kindness. He never expected there's someone who is still willing to love him even after he transformed into a monster.. :"")💕
This pic looks bittersweet yet also full of tenderness, very soft and I just want Badd showing how much he cares and how pure his love for Garou for accepting all of him.. 😌💖😈
-----------------
-- Third Picture --
I also really like the 3rd pic because Nerdy Garou™ is always so good! Imagine Garou was in the middle of tutoring Badd, his bestfriend and also his secret crush. Then in the middle of explaining some difficult subject, Garou realized that his bestfriend didn't exactly concentrated to the lesson, but instead stealing glances on him when he thought Garou wasn't aware.
It was like Badd couldn't handle the Hotness™ of Nerd Garou in the full glory. It was like witnessing a whole different persona of Garou as he's usually being a totally chaotic dramatic guy.
Not to mention Garou was wearing reading glasses at that time and being all serious! Badd was experiencing Gay Panic™ because of that, lmao. Thus Garou takes advantage of the situation by teasing or flirting with him.. 🐺👓📚
----------------
-- Fourth Picture --
Despite the cutesy pose for this picture, my mind wanted me to think this idea: Since I said it could be for Webcomic Batarou, imagine Badd was the one on the left part and Garou on the right part, both gesturing that pose as a victory for surviving Neo Heroes' absolute nonsense horrible assaults.
The redeemed Garou, as clueless as ever about what was just happened to him (poor him he looks so tired), also not familiar about doing "love sign" gesture, has the expression exactly like in the reference. It would be kinda adorable, though! Whereas Badd, instead of smiling cutely like in the reference pic, he was doing that Handsome Smirk™ that he did in the webcomic chapter just before he released himself from the restraining chains. You know the one.. 😏✨
----------------------------
How was that, do you have any other suggestions? 😳✨
I'm so sorry for the lack of headcanon writings lately, my mind was currently blank and I ran out of any fresh idea. Must searching for any new inspiration, I guess waaah I'm sorry forgive me 😅🙏💦 Hopefully soon enough I can provide you more decent headcanon writings, wish me luck I can get past my writer's block! 🙇
@hiro-gari @the-goddessfighter @garous-nipple @jusqu-une-etudiante
Thank you so much for listening my daily nonsense, have a nice day, guys! Love you all~ 😉😘❤💜💙💖💝💐
-Little1993lamb-
------------------------
~Lilia:
OOO I like these a lot!!
That first one I definitely thought Garou would be the one on the right, but omg if he was friends with Badd from the beginning :’) that would have such a huge effect on his personality, and I think he would definitely smile more 💗
The second one just 👌 perfectly describes them!! Just put some draw some little horns on him and 😈 that’s Awakened Garou
Nerd Garou *wheeze* got me weakkk dude 😩 he’s probably oblivious to his charm for the longest time too cause he’s genuinely engrossed in the subject 📚 It’s probably science or somethin *insert cringey joke about their Chemistry here*
Yaaas webcomic Garou and Badd!! Kicking ass together!! Fr though Garou’s just trying to move on with his life he don’t even know who tf the Neo Heroes are 😖 But Badd’s got it figured out, he knows a rat when he sees one 😒 YEAH YEAH IK THE ONE!! I adore that panel sm 😂💕 That’s The Look right there
Thank you anon for the daily inspiration!! Sorry you’re being hit with the writer’s block 😭 Sending you all the motivation and encouragement ✨💗✨
We love you too!! 😘💖 Have a great day!
#these would look so great with them hhhh#if no one else is gonna i’ll have to draw it eventually 😩#batarou#garou#metal bat#opm#au#emoji anon#submission

Hi there! I'm currently working on a little fantasy story where in the middle of act 2, the protagonist turns against his best friend, not caring about him anymore at all. But I'm struggling to find a believable reason for them to have such a bad fight. They do have some disagreements before that specific situation, but overall it may seem to ooc especially for the protagonist to go cold like that... Ideally I'd want some external force to drive them apart like that, but I don't know how :/
Writing Conflict Between BFF Characters
Hey anon!
So the thing withdeep, intimate friendships is that no matter what happens between you, it’salmost impossible to stop caring about a person you’ve cared about for anylengthy period of time. You may dislike them, find them annoying, or evenharbor a grudge against them for pain they’ve knowingly or unknowingly causedyou, but at the end of it all, you would never wish them harm. If somethinghappened to them, it would still cause you a great deal of pain.
Emotionsdon’t see logic, so despite any logical reason you may have for hatingsomeone, your heart doesn’t know how to stop caring when it has a long history of doing so. And when a friend has hurtyou, it’s often difficult for your heart to blame your friend, because itdoesn’t know how to feel those resentful feelings towards that particularperson.
Okay, so all I really accomplished in those paragraphs was personifying acharacter’s heart, but I think it’s all valid. If you want readers to buy thatthere’s been a real falling out, to the point where one character no longer cares for the other one at all, it’s going to take a pretty terrible conflict between them.
But let’s start with the somewhat obvious question here: Is this fight forever? Do you plan on having these characters reconcile at some point, or will this particular event be the beginning of the end of their friendship? If you’re planning on having them reconcile, then the tricky maneuver is having it be something forgivable, yet terrible enough that it creates such strong feelings of malice. And the biggest tool in your box for something like this is the good old misunderstanding.
Misunderstandings have a funny way of wrecking relationships, particularly when a person’s good intentions result in terrible consequences. A misunderstanding can result when one friend thinks the other friend has done something they never actually did.
If you have no idea where to start with this, think of something that could go wrong for your protagonist in the context of your story. An enemy they didn’t anticipate, a person (other than the best friend) whose support they lose, or even something like an injury. Once you’ve got some ideas for things that could go wrong, brainstorm ways that the best friend could be responsible for these things, regardless of whether they actually are responsible or not. From there, you can decide how this misunderstanding or misinterpretation of events occurs. Let me put it in a simple step-by-step:
Imagine a misfortune that could befall your protagonist.
Find a way to blame it on the best friend, whether they actually did it or not.
Decide how the protagonist learns this information.
A super basic example might be a character who is pursuing a bad guy, and they need special weapons to harm this bad guy. Then the weapon goes missing, and our character finds the missing weapon in the trunk underneath their friend’s bed. So if we break this down to go with our step-by-step above:
The protagonist’s weapon goes missing.
The best friend took the weapon (remember, step 2 can either be true or false, depending on if the friend actually took the weapon).
The protagonist finds the weapon in the friend’s trunk.
From here, the protagonist jumps to the conclusion that the friend stole the weapon, perhaps because they want to go off and fight the bad guy themselves, or perhaps because they want to prevent the protagonist from doing so because they are secretly aligning with the bad guy! Again, none of this need be true; the protagonist only needs to think it’s true. That creates the conflict that you’re looking for without damaging the friendship irreparably (because eventually the truth will come out and all will be forgiven).
But there’s one important part I’ve left out here - the addition step 4. Understand what actually happened.
If our protagonist’s friend did NOT steal the weapon, then we have to understand how the weapon ended up in their trunk. What actually happened that lead to this misunderstanding, and what significance does it hold? Assuming that someone planted the weapon in the trunk, we have to consider who planted it, why they planted it (with particular focus on what this person gains from planting the weapon), and what will happen to this person once the truth is discovered.
For Unrepairable Friendships
If you’re looking for some conflict that effectively ends the friendship forever, I would consider making the rift a major plot element that builds from beginning to end. You work with tension early in the novel and let it grow to explosive proportions, so that any pressure on the friendship breaks the already weakened bond. Small sources of tension can be arguments over how problems are solved, jealously over new (and seemingly more important) friendship and/or romantic relationships, disapproval of life choices, or consistently poor treatment of one friend to another.
You’ll notice that all these suggestions are based around internal conflict, as opposed to external. External conflicts can certainly break fractured friendships, but strong friendships can usually endure most misfortune that befalls them. So if you want to destroy the friendship entirely, plant the seeds early and let it germinate throughout the story until that moment in act two when things come apart.
But the bottom line here, think about your plot separately, and allow existing conflict in your plot to guide your brainstorming.
Good luck!

Welcome (again) to A Cup-pella, M! We’re excited to have you and Michelle Chang in the game! Please go through the checklist to make sure you’re ready to go and send in your account within the next 24 hours.
OOC INFO
Name + pronouns: M Age: old Timezone: GMT Ships: Michelle/chemistry Anti-Ships: Michelle/ no chemistry
IC INFO
Full Name: Michelle Robin Chang Face Claim: [ Victoria Song ] Age/Birthday: 26, September 13th Occupation: Dance instructor at ‘En Pointe!’. Midfielder for April’s Showers. Personality: Modest, Optimistic, Good-humored, Honest, Restless, Naive, Insecure Hometown: Portland, Maine. Bio:
Growing up, Michelle’s father pushed many expectations onto her. He wanted her to become a doctor or a lawyer and nothing less than an Ivy League college and a high paying job would make him happy. Raised by very strict rules, that kind of pressure seemed normal for Michelle, but as she entered high school, she realized just how different from the other families they were.
Senior year was the hardest time of her life; on top of stepping towards adulthood and coming to terms with her sexuality, she had to choose between her dream career and her father’s support. Her mother’s encouragement was very important then; it kept her emotionally stable and it was truly what helped Michelle to endure bravely the strained relationship she’d have with her father from then on.
She isn’t making a ton of money working at the dance studio, obviously, but she’s successful and happy, and it seems her father realized it at some point through the years. It sure feels like things will never be the same between them. It took him almost a decade to act like he didn’t absolutely hate her life choices, and that kind of distance wasn’t easy to cope with after all. But for the past three years he has even been accompanying her mom to the monthly visits she makes to see Michelle in NY.
With the exception of her father’s poor parenting, literally everything else in her life has been good enough since she was born. Whether it’s by sheer luck or because she stays in her lane and listens more than speaks, Michelle doesn’t care to find out. With such a stress-free life, she has been able to take the time to improve some aspects of her life. Although she has always maintained a healthy diet, for example, she never cared much about the type of product she was using on her skin or hair. Her mother likes to make fun of her because of the self-improvement books she has around the apartment and the videos she has been watching on YouTube, but she figures this is a better way to “waste” her free time than what her mom thinks she should be doing.
She’s not so shy anymore, neither so quiet. And people might think these are not things that needed to be changed in the first place, but Michelle feels so much better now. She has always hated confrontation, but NY also taught her sometimes it’s needed so people won’t take your existence as a joke. Overall, she can say she’s proud of the person she’s become, and hey if that self-improvement keep brings new dates and pretty women to her life like it’s done so far, she’s so down to wake up each morning as an updated version of herself.
Pets: No pets because of Ari’s allergies.

BIOGRAPHY
Please provide a short biography/background of your character (2+ paragraphs) using the following questions as a guide:
Chase was born in Honolulu, Hawaii as Willow Clarington. As a child, he went to an all-girls school, Emma Willard Academy, but never really fit in. The other girls were always running around and giggling, talking about clothes and their barbies and how they wanted to marry a prince when they grew up. Willow, on the other hand, just wanted to play with the boys at the neighboring all-boys school, Damien’s Memorial School, commonly being found trying to get in the middle of their soccer games and, quite frankly, being a lot better at the sport than they were.
When Chase was thirteen, he asked his parents if he could go to the same school as his brother, Hunter. They were not understanding when Chase said that he didn’t feel like a girl and didn’t want to be Willow anymore. They forced Chase to remain as Willow and remain at the Academy. Of course, Chase refused to respond to the name Willow, and refused to allow anyone to use feminine pronouns when referring to him. This caused a lot of bullying, and soon Chase realized it was just in his best interest to try and stay out of the limelight. He was safer from ridicule and bullying when he stayed in the shadows. But still being forced to wear a skirt as part of his uniform, and still attending an all-girls school messed with his mental health. He self harmed in attempt to battle his depression, always in secret and always where no one would notice. This didn’t help much in gym class, however, changing in front of the girls and teachers. Once the school had taken notice of what he was doing to himself, his parents were notified.
Realizing that their “daughter” couldn’t stay at that school – not without ruining their good name – the Claringtons sent Chase to live with his mother’s sister, Linda, and her husband, Robert – or Bob, as Chase referred to him. They were less well off, but more accepting of Chase. For the first time, he was actually happy. His aunt and uncle referred to him with the correct pronouns and name, and the public school they sent him to also had accepting teachers and students. Chase ended up getting himself onto the boys’ soccer team, and was one of their star players.
While soccer was something that helped him feel good about himself, Chase was always a fan of drawing and painting. When he was at the Academy, just being by himself in a dark corner, sketching to his heart’s content was something that brought him great peace. It helped him not feel so alone in a world where he felt like everyone was out to get him. So when deciding on a school, Aloha State School of Arts was his first choice. He no longer had the funding from his parents, who had outright disowned him, but was able to apply for student loans. He wasn’t awarded any grants or allowed to receive financial aid because of his parents’ financial standing, but the debt in the future is worth it all to him. Currently, Chase just want to get his degree and go on to open his own gallery. He’s quite talented with a canvas, and he knows that if he sticks to his dream, it’ll come true one day – with or without help from his parents.
When Chase turned eighteen, with the help of his aunt and uncle, he was able to start testosterone therapy. He’s had top surgery to get his breasts removed, and he’s looking more like a born-male every day. He’s very happy with his appearance so far, but he has opted not to get bottom surgery yet. He believes there isn’t enough advancement and gives out poor results. But because of his choice to keep his bottom half untouched, he’s also a virgin. It’s just not a part of himself that he wishes to share with anyone else yet.
Chase is very close to his older brother, and always has been. He knows that Hunter has made mistakes, but looks up to him more than anyone else. He views Hunter as the cool alpha male, and Chase is awkward and weird in comparison. He wants to be more like his brother, but can’t find it in himself to even attempt to find the self-confidence that he believes Hunter’s personality oozes.
When he heard about his mother sleeping with the father of the Fabray family, Chase couldn’t care less. His parents were always at the back of his mind, and he spares them very little thought anymore. He believes it’s because of them that his self-confidence is so low, and that he’s afraid to tell anyone about being transgender. He does feel a certain pity towards Quinn Fabray, however, but never knows exactly how to bring up the subject with her, or if he even should.
ENTRANCE ESSAYS
Please provide a writing sample (At least two paragraphs in-character, please). In lieu of a writing sample, you may link to any written para of any previous RP blog):
(Previous para starter from basically the same character, from the blog this is submitted from!)
It was becoming quite apparent to the oldest Xavier sibling that he just couldn’t quite stay still. First he was talking to Gavin, and then to Silas, and then he just found himself wandering around the basement for a while. It seemed to ease his anxiety about being around so many people that he had yet to ever meet – strangers made him uncomfortable and made his pulse race from nerves. So being trapped with a bunch of his neighbors that he never interacted with before the hurricane hit? Well, he wasn’t doing so well. He was pretty sure he was kind of doing okay at hiding that fact from everyone else, and talking to his brother for that short while even made him slightly more comfortable with the situation.
However, that comfort didn’t last long, especially when he became more tired but was afraid of falling asleep around people he didn’t know. It just didn’t feel safe to him. Maybe he needed to have a talk with his therapist about that, but for the moment he was stuck feeling like anything could happen. It wasn’t the hurricane that worried him, it was the thought of the unknown things that other people could do instead. What if one of them were secretly a murderer? The rest would be shit out of fucking luck.
Being in his tired state, Cody wasn’t exactly watching where he was going anymore. He was wandering around aimlessly, trying to go through his two published books word for word in his head. For some reason, it was calming for him. That was, until, he tripped over the legs of someone who just seemed to need to sit down for a while. In attempt to catch himself, he ended up swinging his hand out to grasp onto something – which just happened to be the man’s face. It didn’t help any, and Cody fell to the ground anyways… he seemed to be doing that a lot lately. Eyes wide and cheeks red, he glanced at the guy – why were there so many gorgeous people living in his apartment building – and swallowed hard. “I’m so sorry. Oh my god, I’m such a klutz. Is your face okay? Your legs? Fuck, I – I wasn’t watching where I was going and it’s a little cramped down here but it was totally my fault, I really should have been paying attention instead of dreaming off into LaLa Land. Are you okay? Is there anything I can do for you?”
