Did u go to university? Iā€™m curious what your major was/would be :3
Yuppers, I did a uni course but the classes themselves were actually in a college building and format. It was a new experimental thing at the time where Nottingham Trent Uni were accrediting it and instead of really informal lecture structures, it was taught like a usual 30 class, multi module academic year.
The real charm of the course was just about every tutor was still an active freelancer or owner of a business relating to radio, web design, graphic design etc. - the course was simply named Multimedia ha
Year 1, we did a module on each topic. Year 2 we trim those down, then Year 3 we focused solely on one (or two if they complemented one another well). I zero'ed in on Radio Presenting and web design. I'd already been doing online radio on Habbo fansites then towards the end of my first year I finally joined Trent Uni's student station Fly FM. I somehow nabbed Best Newcomer at the national Student Radio Awards with only one term under my belt. That really elevated my passion for that industry and I went on to get nominated for Best Male Presenter in subsequent years.
Then I graduated, knew I wasn't passionate about web design but had to be an adult and 'get a real job', self sabotaged or ghosted some interviews in protest looking back on it LOL then I landed a gig in radio quite quickly doing evenings Mon - Thurs. Met yogs some time later and they offered me a room in the office. I was undecided, but when I got home from Bristol, the literal next day the station told me they were making cuts and I was axed in that. Threw all my energies in to it and still going to this day
Bit of a sporadic journey but each branch of media I studied and honed means I'm so self sufficient as a creator (sometimes to a fault, I know I should delegate more)
Before uni I did join a course which promised game design elements alongside web design etc. and it was super disappointing. We used Visual Basic *shudder* to make Guess Who and that was the extent of it lol - I did toy with the idea of going to Demontfort uni because that had a legit full fledged game course which was very unique at the time, but radio took a hold of my interest in that period keeping me closer to home

Sugar Mama Chapter 1
And another one! New story involving #sugarbabybucky Summary: Bucky is overworked and struggling to get by.Ā  The bills are piling up and heā€™s consistently in the red with no end in sight.Ā  Y/N is a billionaireā€™s daughter, entrepreneur and philanthropist having a hard time finding true friends or love.Ā  She has a proposition for him.Ā
bucky barnes x curvy!reader Warnings: eventual smut, sexual assault (not from Bucky)
Next chapter
Tumblr media
Bucky was exhausted.Ā  He had been working three jobs for four years now just trying to get by, and this was his sixth sixteen hour day in a row.Ā  Student loans and credit card debt was eating him out of house and home, in the most literal sense.Ā  Even living in a rent controlled building wasnā€™t helping with the bills piling up.Ā  He had gone to college for architecture and interior design, which he was doing now working as an assistant during normal working hours for one of the many local interior designers.Ā  Then he would go straight to his second job as a waiter in a high end restaurant in downtown Manhattan, then at the end of the night go home and do a few more hours of online tutoring.Ā  He had ended his 20s and entered his 30s feeling like an old man, with no end in sight of ever getting a break or being able to break even with his debt.Ā  Forget about dating or having a family someday.Ā  That all seemed like a ridiculous pipe dream now.
ā€œHeeeeyyyy Buckaroo?ā€ Steve sidled up to him as he was cleaning off wine glasses.
ā€œNo,ā€ Bucky cut him off.Ā Ā
ā€œBut itā€™s justā€“ā€
ā€œSteve, itā€™s Friday night, Iā€™d really like to go home and get in bed at a normal time tonight,ā€ Bucky interrupted him, the dark circles under his eyes that he tried to ignore looking more prominent by the day.
ā€œI know, I know, Iā€™m sorry.Ā  But Peggy has been hounding me about going to that new burlesque club that just opened and I told her I was working but we havenā€™t had a date night in a long timeā€“ā€
ā€œUgh, fine.Ā  But Iā€™m not sharing tips,ā€ Bucky sighed, rubbing his face as he pulled a 5 Hour Energy out of his apron pocket and quickly downed it like a shot.
ā€œThose are bad for you, Buck,ā€ Steve gave his friend a worried look.
ā€œWell maybe a heart attack in my 30s will put me out of my misery,ā€ Bucky half-joked.Ā  Steve was silent.Ā  Bucky turned to him and scoffed.Ā  ā€œItā€™s a joke.Ā  Go, Iā€™ll take the closing shift.Ā  Say hi to Peg for me.ā€
ā€œIā€™ll take your next closing, I promise.Ā  Thanks punk,ā€ Steve gave him a quick hug.
ā€œYeah whatever, jerk,ā€ Bucky laughed.Ā  As Steve went to the back to change, Bucky went to the host stand and figured out who was his next table.
ā€œWhatcha got for me, witchy woman?ā€ he leaned against the stand.Ā  Wanda gave him a quick glance.Ā Ā
ā€œI told you to stop calling me that,ā€ she sighed, looking back down at the list.
ā€œItā€™s not my fault you got witch eyes.Ā  And I never said that was a bad thing,ā€ Bucky said, wiggling his eyebrows.
ā€œYeah whatever,ā€ she rolled her amber eyes.Ā  ā€œYouā€™re gonna love this one.Ā  A Wall Street investment heiress, with some famous friends,ā€ she gave him an unimpressed look.
ā€œAn heiress, huh?Ā  Well maybe sheā€™ll be my next sugar mama,ā€ he joked, giving her a wink as he adjusted his apron.
ā€œYou wouldnā€™t know how to be a sugar baby even if you tried,ā€ she sassed back at him.Ā  ā€œTable 42.Ā  Sheā€™s all yours.ā€
ā€œThanks babes,ā€ he sing-songed at her before heading towards his section.Ā  As he approached table 42 he tried to see who the heiress was, but she was unfortunately facing away from him.Ā  Her friends, though, he easily recognized from some of the most recent films that had just hit theaters: Clint Barton and Natasha Romanov.Ā  Jackpot, he thought with a wry smile.
ā€œGood evening, folks, welcome to Marea.Ā  My name is Bucky and Iā€™ll be your server tonight.Ā  Could I get you started with some drinks?Ā  Or a review of our wine list?ā€ He gave them all a friendly smile as he looked each of them in the eye at least once.Ā  The actors gave him quick smiles and glances before ordering generic wines and waters, then the heiress caught his eye.Ā  He almost did a double take once he realized who she was.Ā  Y/N Y/L/N, the daughter of Wall Street Tycoon Gerald Y/L/N.Ā  She was set for life and beyond.Ā  Her father was the investment king, knowing just when to buy in or sell out.Ā  She had taken on his legacy by doing the same but instead of investing in huge corporations she was investing in smaller businesses and projects, being the key investor until the business could truly thrive, giving her investment a return and getting a chance to grow in an area like New York City.Ā  She was the reason the new burlesque club opened that Steve was going to with Peggy.Ā  Not only was she wealthy, she was beautiful.Ā  Short in stature and plus size, she was an anomaly surrounded by her tall and slim friends, but she embraced her size and used it as a way to both literally and figuratively take up space in the industry and bring attention to the issues of body image, fatphobia, and investing in plus size companies and designers who she exclusively worked with for clothing her for events.Ā
Bucky tried not to ogle and quickly gave her his best flirtatious smile.Ā  ā€œAnd for you?ā€ he asked her.
Y/N gave him an appreciative smile and her bright Y/C/E eyes seemed to really look at him rather than a passing glance like her friends.Ā  ā€œIā€™d like to hear the wine menu, please.ā€
ā€œWonderful, we have aā€¦ā€ As he listed off the wines Y/N watched him intently, her eyes searching his face.Ā  He felt like he was the one being ogled and yet he persevered, trying not to sound nervous while serving some of the most influential and popular people in the world.
ā€œIt all sounds delicious, but Iā€™m a creature of habit, so I think Iā€™ll stick with my favorite Rose, the Billecart-Salmon.Ā  And Iā€™ll also have water on the side.ā€
ā€œExcellent choice, maā€™am.Ā  Give me a moment and Iā€™ll get those drinks out to you all,ā€ he glanced at them all again before slipping away to the bar for the drinks.
Y/N watched him leave, a small smile on her face, before turning back to her friends.Ā  They eyed her ruefully with mischievous smiles.Ā  ā€œWhat?ā€ she asked.
ā€œHeā€™s cute,ā€ Natasha commented, one eyebrow raised at her.
ā€œVery cute.Ā  One could even say hot,ā€ Clint added, watching Bucky walk back to the bar.Ā  ā€œHeā€™s got a great ass.Ā  Too bad heā€™s working here.Ā  Heā€™d look divine in a Prada campaign.ā€
ā€œYou two stop it,ā€ Y/N whispered, giving them a wide eyed glare.Ā  ā€œYes heā€™s cute.ā€
ā€œYou gonna go for it?ā€ Natasha asked, her grin twisting into something conspiratorial.
ā€œOh do it!Ā  If you wonā€™t, Iā€™ll try my luck,ā€ Clint shifted in his seat as he continued watching Bucky.Ā  ā€œSee if he goes both ways.ā€
Bucky was walking back with the drinks on a tray.Ā  Y/N narrowed her eyes and made the gesture for them to zip it.
ā€œAlright, here are your drinks!Ā  Your waters, and the Sauvignon blanc for you,ā€ he set it in front of Clint, ā€œthe Stella Artois for you,ā€ he set it in front of Natasha, ā€œand the Billecart-Salmon Rose for you.ā€Ā  He delicately set it in front of Y/N giving her another warm smile.Ā  She reciprocated it as she reached for her wine.Ā  She took a quick sip and her eyes fluttered shut.Ā Ā
ā€œPerfect, thank you Bucky,ā€ she said as she licked her lips.
Buckyā€™s eyes widened slightly before he caught himself.Ā  ā€œWell, would you like to start with any appetizers?Ā  Or jump right into the good stuff?ā€ he huffed a laugh.
ā€œIā€™d like the lobster with the salad,ā€ Clint ordered.Ā  ā€œAnd could you make sure that the lobster is really big and thick.Ā  I like them meaty.ā€
Y/Nā€™s eyes widened at him and his not-so-subtle innuendo.Ā  Bucky knew what he was doing and just let it slide, nodding in agreement.Ā  ā€œIā€™ll put in a good word with the chef.ā€Ā Ā
Natasha next to him giggled before ordering.Ā  ā€œIā€™ll just take the scallops and shrimp.ā€
Bucky nodded before turning to Y/N.Ā  ā€œIā€™ll have the crab cakes and risotto, please.ā€Ā  He nodded again and gave her a smirk.
ā€œMy favorite,ā€ he gave her a wink, making her blush. ā€œIā€™ll get those in and come back to check on you all in a little bit,ā€ he swept the table with a smile before walking back to the kitchen.
ā€œStop it, donā€™t embarrass him,ā€ Y/N chastised Clint.Ā  ā€œIā€™m sure he and the other servers get enough grief from creepy patrons all the time.ā€
ā€œOh it was just a little fun.Ā  Besides, heā€™s all eyes for you, honey, he barely even looked at me,ā€ he shot back at her as he sipped his wine.Ā
ā€œItā€™s true,ā€ Natasha said, then gave her an exaggerated wink. Y/N rolled her eyes.Ā  ā€œI think you should ask him out.Ā  Or maybe he can be your next sugar baby.ā€
ā€œOh donā€™t bring that up again,ā€ Y/N groaned.Ā  ā€œIt was a one time thing and ended badly.Ā  I just wanted to try it.ā€
ā€œIt ended badly because he was an ass, not because of anything you did.Ā  You gave him charity and he gave you an attitude.Ā  This guy seems sweet, nothing can hurt from just asking,ā€ Natasha chided her, reaching out and pinching Y/Nā€™s arm lightly.Ā Ā
Y/N considered her words.Ā  She had wanted to try out the lifestyle of being a sugar mama to a sugar baby.Ā  She had a lot of events to go to throughout the year, and as much as she enjoyed spending time with her friends and networking with people, she was getting really tired of these high-class, ridiculous men who thought that just by being famous or wealthy that she would throw herself at them.Ā  They wanted to use her for her name and connections.Ā  They never really cared about her.Ā  So she had tried being a sugar mama to a man who wasnā€™t famous, down on his luck, and just trying to get a leg up in life to escort her to these functions and give her companionship.Ā  But once heā€™d gotten his debts paid off by her and a taste of luxury he quickly became influenced by the rich douchebags around him and started treating Y/N disrespectfully, so much so that heā€™d made front page news of some tabloids and embarrassed her.Ā  She kicked him out after that and blacklisted him from any upcoming events.Ā  If there was one thing that she would never condone it was when others tried, directly or indirectly, to humiliate or embarrass her.
Bucky did seem nice, and very tired.Ā  The dark circles under his eyes and his shirt not being as ironed as some of the other servers were small giveaways that he was struggling.Ā  She didnā€™t want to embarrass him either by asking to be her sugar baby and assuming that he was struggling financially.Ā Ā
ā€œHe is very handsome,ā€ she conceded, a larger smile spreading across her face.
Natasha squealed, clapping her hands joyfully.Ā  ā€œDo it!ā€
The night dragged on as they ate their delicious meals and ordered more glasses of wine.Ā  Other patrons were clearing out as it got later and closer to closing time.Ā  As tired as Bucky was, doing his nightly closing duties quietly and discreetly so his table couldnā€™t see, he was banking on their tips.Ā  High end restaurants meant high end clients meant high end tips, and he had rent coming due next week.Ā  He packed on the compliments to Y/N and her friends, gave them warm and flirty smiles, offered complimentary items, and gave all his attention to them exclusively.Ā  Y/N had asked to compliment the chef and when he came out and talked to her table she whispered something to him that he quickly agreed to and jogged back to the kitchen.Ā  Bucky gave him a questioning glance but the chef waved him off.
Bucky watched carefully until he saw Y/Nā€™s hand raise and her eyes searched for him.Ā  His cue for the check, which he quickly grabbed and brought it over to her.Ā  As he glanced at the insane price he noticed an extra meal that wasnā€™t supposed to be on there as he got to the table.
ā€œOh, Iā€™m sorry Miss Y/L/N, there seems to be a mistake on the bill, I apologize, let me goā€“ā€
ā€œNo mistake, Bucky,ā€ Y/N reassured him just as the chef came back out with a doggy box.Ā  He handed it to her and thanked her for coming.Ā  Y/N shook his hand and slipped something into it beforeĀ  he disappeared back to the kitchen wearing a rare smile.Ā  ā€œThank you,ā€ she reached for the bill and slid her black American Express into the folder.Ā Ā
ā€œOh, alright, Iā€™ll be right back then,ā€ Bucky composed himself after the mini heart attack he just had from thinking the bill was wrong as he walked back to the stand to take her payment.Ā  Once everything was paid he brought back the folder, this time seeing her friends standing and putting on their coats while she stayed seated.Ā Ā
ā€œThank you, Bucky,ā€ Natasha said his name seductively as she passed him.Ā  Clint gave him a little wave and a smirk as he left with her.Ā Ā
ā€œHave a good night!ā€ He called after them.Ā  He approached the table as Y/N was opening her wallet.Ā  ā€œHereā€™s the receipt Miss Y/L/N.Ā  Thank you for coming in tonight.ā€
ā€œNo thank you for such excellent service, Bucky,ā€ she complimented him as she took the folder again.Ā  ā€œWill you sit with me for a moment?ā€
Buckyā€™s eyebrows raised and he glanced back at the bar.Ā  The manager, Pietro, and Wanda motioned to him to do as she asked.Ā  ā€œYes, of course,ā€ Bucky accepted and sat himself in the chair across from her where Clint sat previously.Ā Ā
Her gaze flicked over him as she opened the folder, took the pen provided and filled out the parts of the receipt meant for her.Ā  She closed it and slid it over to Bucky who thanked her and placed it in front of himself.
ā€œI have a proposition for you, Bucky.Ā  And please understand when I ask this that you are under no obligation to accept it and I donā€™t mean to embarrass you,ā€ she started, looking a little nervous.
ā€œOkay,ā€ Bucky stated lamely as he watched her.Ā Ā
Y/N cleared her throat and put her fidgeting hands down in her lap.Ā  ā€œI would like to offer you a type of job.Ā  As an escort, a sugar baby, to me.ā€Ā  Buckyā€™s eyes widened comically as he processed what she said. ā€œI know itā€™s a strange request.Ā  But itā€™s something that I enjoy trying and it helps othersā€¦sometimes.Ā  I donā€™t want to assume anything of you, but I can tell when someone is struggling, and you look like life has not always been the easiest or kindest to you.Ā  I mean no offense.ā€
ā€œNone taken,ā€ he replied automatically.Ā  ā€œIā€¦yes,ā€ he looked down as he confessed to her.Ā  ā€œItā€™s been, uh, rough, to say the least.ā€
ā€œHm,ā€ Y/N hummed.Ā  She reached a finger out and pointed to the closed folder.Ā  She gestured for him to open it.Ā  He did and took a look over the receipt, nearly choking when he saw the amount on the tip line.
ā€œNo, no Miss Y/L/N, this is too much,ā€ Bucky protested as he stared at the number.Ā
ā€œThatā€™s what your service was worth.Ā  You are worth every cent, and more,ā€ Y/N praised him.Ā  ā€œYou donā€™t have to decide tonight, Bucky, but in the meantime, hereā€™s my card,ā€ she slipped a business card over to him. ā€œThink about it,ā€ she said as she stood up.Ā  Bucky quickly stood up with her.Ā  Y/N stepped closer to him and reached for his hand.Ā  They shook hands and she leaned in and whispered to him, ā€œBy the way, youā€™re very handsome.ā€Ā  Buckyā€™s eyes bulged and he swallowed hard as she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek then turned and left.Ā  Bucky realized as he watched her leave that she had slipped something into his hand.Ā  He opened his hand to find a small folded wad of one hundred dollar bills in his palm.Ā  ā€œOh and thatā€™s for you!ā€ She called out and motioned towards the doggy box still sitting on the table.Ā  ā€œYour favorite.Ā  Dinnerā€™s on me,ā€ she said and gave him a wink then twirled back around and out the door.Ā Ā
After she was out of the restaurant and beyond hearing Wanda and Pietro ran up to him.Ā  ā€œHow much did she give you?ā€Ā  Wanda squealed as she looked at the bills in his hand.Ā  He quickly counted it.
ā€œ$1000,ā€ he whispered as he gawked at the money.
ā€œGive me that,ā€ Pietro demanded as he took the folder from Bucky.Ā  He opened it and gasped.Ā  ā€œShe gave you a $2500 card tip??Ā  What did you do, Barnes, give her and everybody at her table a blow job?ā€
ā€œWowā€¦I donā€™t know if I want to be her or be on her,ā€ Wanda said wistfully as she looked back out the glass door where Y/N had already gotten into her car and drove off.Ā Ā
Bucky felt like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders as he stared at the bills, the $2500 floating around in his mind.Ā  He was not comprehending just how much she had given him.Ā  He looked at her business card again and knew he had to at least meet with her and find out what she was offering.Ā  But to become an actual sugar baby?Ā  To have a sugar mama?Ā  To have his debt disappear?Ā  To be taken care of?Ā  He smiled as his fingers touched where her lips had been.Ā
**this picture has me SALIVATING. This is what I imagine sugar baby!Bucky to look like in this. Hope y'all like it!**

Would it be too much to ask what kind of jobs the new skeles might have since you already shared bram would be a groundskeeper at a cemetery?
Looks like I never officially did this one for Wave 2, just Wave 1 over here.
So, while weā€™re at it, let's do 2 and 3!
Ash (Undergloom Sans): Heā€™s semi-unemployed, or self-employed depending on how you look at it. He busks, playing his trombone out on the street and accepting donations from anyone who feels so inclined. He likes playing music and the idea of brightening peoplesā€™ days in the middle of their commute, so the money doesnā€™t really matter to him. Sometimes he picks up small gigs at local venues, mostly by word of mouth, and eventually he breaks into the tutoring sceneā€”teaching his favorite instrument to young aspiring musicians who find the same joy in it that he does.
Yrus (Undergloom Papyrus): He works as a professor at the local community college, teaching anthropology. Heā€™s passionate about the subject and canā€™t think of anything heā€™d rather do than share it with a classroom of humans who probably have no idea how interesting they really are. If only one student walked away from his class with a new appreciation for what humanityā€™s all about then heā€™s fulfilledā€”but he tends to send a lot more away with that than just one, since heā€™s a very popular, friendly, and accessible teacher.
Brick (Horrorfell Sans): Heā€™s self-employed, knitting blankets at home and selling them online. He doesnā€™t need a job at all, between the Queen and his brother, moneyā€™s not an issue, but heā€™d go crazy if he didnā€™t have something to do all day, and nobody wants to see what he looks like when he goes crazy. He takes commissions often, but other times he just makes things according to whatever heā€™s feeling and what color yarn he has handy and sells to whoever feels like buying it.
King (Horrorfell Papyrus): He works as a physical therapist. He more or less taught himself to walk again after losing his leg, and a second time after getting a replacement, so he very personally understands the need that exists for people who are injured and want to get back to their normal lifeā€”but maybe lack the discipline, the knowledge, or the tools to take that journey solo. Heā€™s hard on his patients and sadistically merciless, but his success rate in terms of mobility recovered is very high and any complaints after the fact are begrudging at worst.
Merc (Horrorswap Sans): Heā€™s a home baker, making cakes and small pastries for a small but growing client base. He likes the freedom of getting to pursue his passions seriously and to be his own boss, set his own hours, screen his own clients, et cetera. He puts a lot of time and care into what he makes, both in terms of flavor and decoration, and finds nothing quite so satisfying as a repeat customer or a glowing review and recommendation to someone new.
Ell (Horrorswap Papyrus): Freelance programming is what he does for cash. It was something he could both learn how to do and actually do remotely, without the need for more than the bare minimum of in-person contact. He likes problem-solving, and complaining about the problem-solving, and the field is pretty much always in demand so if heā€™s bored of certain kinds of jobs, or sick of the person giving him the jobs, he can jump ship at any time and be a contractor someplace else.
Pitch (Horrorswapfell Sans): Heā€™s a boxer, more amateur than pro so he doesnā€™t make a ton doing it, at least not consistently, but he likes fighting and draws in a decent crowd by being a bit of a spectacle (a blind skeleton in the ring) so the entertainment value is worth something. Aside from that, eventually, he fills in for his brother as a combination business partner/agent/accountant, helping him get jobs and keep clients and manage the money he makes doing so.
Nemo (Horrorswapfell Papyrus): Heā€™s unemployed for a long while, but ultimately breaks into professional photography, with a specialty in travel photographs. He likes taking pictures and getting to see the world in the process, and it helps that itā€™s a family business so he and his brother have pretty much full control over what jobs he takes and for how much. He doesnā€™t really concern himself with the money numbers, though, he just likes filling out his portfolio with gorgeous locales all around the world.
Sunny (Gastertale Sans): He does a lot of odd jobs, all over the place, generally (things that are considered) unskilled laborā€”bussing tables, janitorial work, desk clerking, that kind of thing. He doesnā€™t like the thought of getting too stuck into any one thing and being unable to try something else out later if it doesnā€™t work out, and thereā€™s something to be said for the satisfaction of being closely connected to the results of your labor. Sometime down the line he will end up sticking in one career, as a dealer for a casino, because it combines his social, charming nature with his sharp eye and quick hands, but until then heā€™s happy to bounce around.
Aster (Gastertale Papyrus): Heā€™s a bookkeeper at a nondescript company. Heā€™s organized and thorough with record-keeping and double-checking data, and he likes putting those skills to use to make sure his employerā€™s finances and transactions all balance out at the end of the day. Some might find it boring work and he could almost certainly qualify for a much more ā€˜prestigiousā€™ job doing something else, but heā€™s satisfied having a job that doesnā€™t require all of his effort and brainpower, so he can save some of that for his personal life and private interests.
Spectr (Transcendtale Sans): Heā€™s a nomad, a wanderer, he has no job. Heā€™s a robot in the shape of a monsterā€”ostensibly still a monster, even soā€”in a world full of humans that as yet believe monsters donā€™t exist, so even if he wanted a job, getting one would be logistically difficult. Luckily, he feels no special need to be gainfully employed and just spends his time wandering around and taking in the world. If he needs something, heā€™ll either just take it or use one of his brotherā€™s accounts to pay for it.
PapAIrus (Transcendtale Papyrus): Heā€™s a performer, a disc jockey who mixes, makes, and plays music to crowds at clubs, raves, and discos, anywhere heā€™s welcome. He takes advantage of the perception of his holographic form as an artistā€™s gimmick, like Daft Punk, Hatsune Miku, dead musicians projected onto stages to play posthumouslyā€¦ In his defense, that last one is sort of exactly what he is, except he didnā€™t really start making music until after he died. Still, he has fun doing it and adores the fame heā€™s steadily gaining as a popular, cutting-edge technology music act.
Xanth (Ascendswap Sans): He does aura readings for people. For those interested to know, he shares his perception of their colors and the flow of energy in and around them, and just generally describes the sense he gets about a person. What he does is really more of a soul read than an aura read, so a lot of the color meanings and terminology he uses contrast with the kind of readings his clients may get from humans who practice something a little bit different. Still, heā€™s earnest in his desire to help people understand themselves and their energies and emotions, so he gets a lot of recommendations and repeat clientele who trust heā€™s the real deal.
Piper (Ascendswap Papyrus): He works as an event planner, organizing gatherings, arranging vendors, booking venues, the whole nine. He has a great reputation for making things go smoothly and always seems to be able to talk out bumps and snags before they ever become a major problem. He also maintains great relationships with people in the industry and delights in having connections just about everywhere in case he needs to call on a favor to make something happen for a client. He's got the magic touch and the silver (gold) tongue that makes everything fall into place just so.
Carmine (Underfell Fruition Sans): He works as a clerk at a pawn shop. He gets to handle a lot of interesting items and assess roughly how much theyā€™d be worth, and heā€™s pretty good at haggling and negotiating with people who might not agree with said assessments. Sometimes people will come in with broken stuff they wouldnā€™t be able to get too much for, but maybe he can cut ā€˜em a deal, fix it up on his own dime and if they come back for it, greatā€”and if they donā€™t, his bossā€™ll be happy to have something that works to sell to somebody else at a markup, how ā€˜bout it? He does a brisk business and both sides of the counter love him.
Tank (Underfell Fruition Papyrus): Heā€™s in construction. Heā€™s huge, strong, takes direction well, and diligently follows rules and protocolsā€”heā€™s an ideal fit for it. He likes to work hard and be able to see a job come together, knowing he had a part in it and being satisfied with the quality of his contribution. He especially likes to take every safety training and equipment certification course he can attend because he likes knowing what the rules are and being specifically told how certain procedures are run, machines operated, et cetera. Heā€™s very likely to be apprenticed in as a foreman if not the inheritor someday of the construction business by its current owner for his work ethic and dedication, but thatā€™ll be a long ways from now.
Vi (Swapfell Fruition Sans): He works as an independent auditor and combs through companiesā€™ records, internal and external documentation, processes, and accounting and ensures everything is being done in accordance with industry standards. In short, he shows up, demands to see everything they have, and looks through it to see if theyā€™ve lied, did something wrong, or lost information they werenā€™t supposed to. Sometimes he can do this remotely but other times he has to travel out to a physical office somewhere and sit down with a bunch of stuffed file cabinets, and he really doesnā€™t mind either way. He likes the work and heā€™s good at itā€”maybe because heā€™s good at itā€”and he finds it satisfying to catch the tiniest little misses and errors to demand an accounting of them.
Hunter (Swapfell Fruition Papyrus): Heā€™s a trail maintenance worker for Ebott National Park. He walks the paths and hiking trails and makes sure theyā€™re safe and unobstructed for visitors, as well as whatever odd jobs in the area that happen to come upā€”looking out for invasive species, helping with a bench install, directing lost tourists, that kinda thing. Itā€™s not especially glamorous work but itā€™s pretty much exactly where he wants to be and heā€™s happy to do it, probably wouldnā€™t pick any other job in the worldā€¦except maybe to volunteer for a seasonal fire-watch position and do pretty much the exact same thing, but more isolated and with a big cool tower to sit in.
Kohl (Descendtale Sans): He works as a mortician at a local funeral home. He generally isnā€™t expected (read: allowed) to deal with grieving families, thatā€™s more the funeral directorā€™s purview, but he works behind the scenes embalming, processing, and otherwise preparing the dead for their final party and last ride home. He has a strong stomachā€”or rather, no stomach at allā€”and doesnā€™t get squeamish or emotional about the dead, so that works out. They also let him work nights so he has several long, quiet hours of methodically going through the routine with no (living) humans around to irritate him or vice-versa. Sounds like a good gig to him.
Bram (Descendtale Papyrus): Yes, still a groundskeeper for the cemetery and loving it. It was something he kind of fell into through his brother, when he didnā€™t really know what he wanted to do on the Surface, but his brother sends dead humans off to their final resting place and said final resting place was looking for someone to dig holes, mind the grass, keep everything looking neat and niceā€”and thatā€™s certainly something he can do! He also works nights, being that monsters are almost entirely nocturnal these days, so heā€™s also an unintentional scarecrow deterrent to teenagers sneaking in late for partying or spooky dares when they see a slim, bony silhouette materialize out of the shadows with a shovel in hand, asking if theyā€™re just visiting or thinking about moving in.ā€¦

Canaan University Au
Ok I thought of a college au for the locked tomb a awhile ago but I never bothered to write it down until now. Anyways I think they would all go to this imaginary university in New Zealand and itā€™s like the first book but with a lot less murder. Hereā€™s what I think each house would study
Judith- Criminal justice major. Huge stickler for rules and doing homework. If sheā€™s not in the gym reading a textbook while doing push-ups, sheā€™s in the library getting into a heated debate with a Corona. Had a huge crush on Marta and went to the same college as her to hangout, just getting over it, may or may not have feelings for Corona, maybe.
Marta- In law school, was a mentor to Judith when she was in high school and thatā€™s how they know each other. Gently turned Judith down but theyā€™re still friends and study together sometime. Is the DD at every party.
Corona: Majoring in marketing with a minor in fashion merchandising. Doesnā€™t do great on tests but aces every presentation. President of her sorority. Can and will gaslight frat boys. Everyone wants her but she only has eyes for the stuck up criminal justice major.
Ianthe- Management major with a minor in maybe finance. Commits tax fraud and gets away with it. Sometimes does Coronaā€™s homework for her. Doxxes people online (mostly Babs), smokes in the dorm hallways. Flirts with Harrow during their study sessions, which Harrow ignores.
Naberius- Economics major, and major fuck boy. Makes thirst traps and is doxxed. Hangs out with the twins even though they bully him. Doesnā€™t do shit during group projects. Will get a job at his dads company post graduation.
Jeannemary and Isaac donā€™t go to college but are tutored by Abigail at her house. They just silly teens who experiment with makeup and clothes to find their look. Talk loudly about anime in the school hallways. A little cringe but theyā€™re doing their best.
Abigail- Anthropology professor and is really cool. Tough grader but genuinely loves her students and shares trivia with them. Brings donuts to test days. Will accidentally derail class to talk about books or her husband. If one of her students brings up one of the incredibly niche topics she likes, she will talk about it for hours.
Magnus- Not a teacher but visits Abigail's classes often. Nice guy, helps look after Jeannemary and Isaac. I'm not sure what he would do as a job, maybe chef or stay at home husband lol. Regardless, he's the one making all the meals.
Palamedes- Pre-med, wants to become a doctor so he can save Dulcinea save people. Smartest guy in the room always, a go to for anyone struggling with their biology homework. Has a friendly rivalry with Harrow (it's more rivalry than friendly for Harrow but she grows fond of him over time). Is the one derailing class with philosophical debates.
Camilla- Physics major, too cool for you. Really into sports, just not sure which, like gymnastics or soccer or rugby or fencing. Works hard but actually remembers to eat and sleep too. Probably in student government as well. Her and Palamedes are attached at the hip, they later get an apartment together and that's where all the main hangouts with the other characters happen.
Dulcinea- Suffers from chronic illness and focuses her life on learning and traveling rather than getting a traditional job. She's got multiple degrees in stuff like literature, philosophy, and art history. She is active on social media and has a blog, and sells crocheted animals on Etsy. Became mutuals with Pal and Camilla on social media and they met up later when they went off to college.
Protesilaus- Dulcie's caretaker, helps her with her medical stuff. Becomes like a cool uncle figure to her and her friends. Hangs out a lot with Ortus and they share poetry.
Silas- Double major in theology and philosophy. Freaky teen prodigy who graduated high school early and attends university. Little shit who people are either freaked out by or straight up just don't like him. Will snitch on anyone for anything he doesn't like. Really only friends with Colum.
Colum- Silas' nephew, but way older than him, weird dynamic. Not in school but drives Silas to his classes and Silas lives with him during the school year instead of in the dorms. Nice guy, looks out for Silas' well being the best he can but tries to keep him from being too nasty to others.
Harrow- Double major in theology and archeology. Studies at all hours and forgets to eat and sleep. Local cryptid. Autistic with special interests in religion and burial rituals. Went to Catholic school and had a suffocating home life. Trying to grapple with that as she starts to navigate adult life. Also trying to mend her relationship with Gideon after being so harsh in her younger years.
Gideon- Kinesiology major, butch vibes to the max. Does swordfighting and weight training in her down time. Has kissed both Ianthe and Corona at some point, though it never went anywhere after that. Wears her sunglasses at all times even in class. Finds the worst fashions from thrift stores and wears them to piss Harrow off. Grew up with Harrow in a foster home Harrow's parents ran and also attended Catholic school with her but they rarely interacted beyond antagonizing each other. Reconnected after being randomly assigned roommates. Now they're buddies and hang out alongside the 3rd and 6th, (also the 2nd and Dulcie sometimes too). They all do stupid shit together like sing karoke off key and hit up Taco Bell at 2am after binge watching movies.

Tumblr media
I was a normal guy, nice friends, decent grades, accepted to college, had a few longer relationships and several hookups. But when I turned 18, things changed. I discovered that I had the ability to change things about people, I could take things from them and give them to myself, or give them things of mine, and no one would remember his things used to be, only how things were after the swap. The only catch was that they had to agree to the swap, they wouldnā€™t remember ever having the thing we swapped, or agreeing to the swap, however, they must agree to the swap in that moment, and I could only swap once per person and trait.
Tumblr media
This is Carlos. I took his sexy scruff. I could never grow good facial hair, it was always patchy, so I got Carlos to agree to swap. We blinked and then he was clean shaven and I had the two days or scruff.
Tumblr media
I was pale skinned, and that was putting it mildly. Thatā€™s where Marc came in, I tricked him into agreeing to swap, and the next thing I knew I had amazing skin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next was Alex, who was incredibly tall. He was easy to trick, I just got him talking about how hard it was being tall and said Iā€™d love it if I was his height, he fell into the trap and said heā€™d like yo be my height, and the next thing I knew, I was 6ā€™7ā€, and a bonus was I got his huge feet, size 16.
Tumblr media
I was getting close to my dream body. I saw Jake at the gym, and it was hard to trick him into swapping, but I got his muscles. I almost had the ideal body, so next I sought the ideal mind. I found Kyle in the tutoring center, he was a nerd, he was 19, but already a grad student, a teaching assistant, he had already secured a high paying job in my field, and he tried to build his body and was always reading up on techniques, but he lacked the genes. He saw my body and thought I knew something he didnā€™t, and his jealousy betrayed him, he gave me his knowledge and mind, and he gained gym basics and limited business knowledge.
Last was the hardest to swap, I wanted a porn star worthy dick and stamina. No sane guy would give that up, but I found a guy online who seemed crazy enough to do it. Knowing it was a one time swap and Iā€™d never be able to do it again, I found a way to verify he was as big as he claimed and that he was as skilled, and then got him to agree to the swap online.
By the end of my senior year, I was almost 7 feet tall, size 16 feet, perfect scruff, huge muscles, genius intellect, golden skin, and a face that would make Adonis drool. And to everyone else, Iā€™d always been this blessed.

Reviewing and relearning the basics of grammar and punctuation will make you a better writer.
I know online spaces often ignore those kinds of rules, and that Tumblr especially has made an art of the omission of punctuation. But these are not just the boring bits ā€” these are the tools used to make your writing comprehensible to others. Good writing is, first and foremost, about clear communication.
Even for people who feel like they have a strong grasp on these things because they read a lot, even for people who are writers, I highly recommend doing some review of terminology. I've always been a big reader, and while I was in college majoring in English writing skills, I took a job tutoring for English and ESL. The first ESL students I worked with were asking about things like predicates, prepositions, and how tense works, etc. At the time, I knew how to write clearly and coherently. I could tell what was wrong with a sentence and rewrite it correctly. However, it had been literal years since I had any kind of in-depth grammar lessons ā€” not since probably the 3rd or 4th grade. I didn't remember the vocabulary for the things that I was correcting. Suddenly I needed not only to know how to write, but also how to explain all those basic components of language and writing to someone whose first language had completely different rules.
So, I grabbed a copy of Strunk & White's Elements of Style and started studying in between students. I copied whole sections out into my notebook by hand (the slow, physical work of writing can help with memory in a way that typing does not match). If a student asked me something that I didn't know, we would look up the answer together.
Being able to put a name to the various structural components of a sentence meant that I could not only look at and correct a poorly written one, I could also understand specifically what was wrong, and explain how to fix it. Proper grammar and punctuation is a basic skill that every writer should strive to develop ā€” it's as important a tool in your box as theme, plot structure, or tension. It enables us to express our ideas as clearly as possible, with less room for misinterpretation.
There's no shame in not knowing something, or having forgotten something you were taught once. Humans are always learning, and our education systems are highly imperfect. And if there's one thing I hope we've taken away from all the AI garbage and the enshittification of the internet the last few years, it's that we cannot and should not rely on technology to make up for basic skills you never learned. We can only keep working, keep learning, and keep practicing.

OMG PLEASE TELL LIBRARY STORIES
i would love to work at a library one day
iugfbnwqkwsdjf AWW THANK YOU FOR THE ASKK IM GOING TO RAMBLE NOW <33 AND SAMEE i hope you do get to work at the library :)) i need to wait 9 more months before I can applyy
First off all, background In my 7th grade i did Semester 1 online school and Semester 2 in person. I didnt get a choice in elective cuz i switched over so i became an office aide tho i would be sent to the library most of the time to help the librarian. another thing, the librarian started the same time as me. the old librarian quit and the new librarian was just out of college (and also lowkey traumatized but we dont acknowledge that heree) so she was like in her early 20s I LOVE HER SM OMG!! BEFORE BEING A LIBRARIAN SHE PLAYED COMPETITIVE VIDEO GAMES AND SHE HAS AN ANIMATION CHANNEL AND NOW SHES ILLUSTRATING CHILDRENS BOOK AND SHE WAS IN FANDOMS TOO!! SHES AMAZING AT ART, LIKE WHEN YOU ASKED HER TO SIGN YOUR YEARBOOK SHE'D DRAW YOU (i can find the picture of me she drew if youd likee) IN 2 MINUTES!! AND SHE TOLD ME ONCE SHED DRAW A FANART OF NICO GETTING MCDONALDS WITH WILL FOR ME CUZ I TOLD HER I LIKED PERCY JACKSON AND SOLANGELO (i never told her bout the mcdonalds thing, she knew) and it was so much fun cuz id be sorting books and reading books and scanning books and helping kids and fixing books and organizing and just talking with peoplee i loved it smm and speaking of her, she did so much cool stuff!! she had no idea how the library worked or how to do stuff and she did end up crying the first month because of how lost she was but she got a hang of it and i so proud of her for that <33
She made a cozy corner where there are tons of blankets and pillows for people and with cozy curtains and lights
she bought (using her own money) nearly 40 boardgames and made a shelf for people to play with fidgets, cards and games
she brought her switch in so kids could see and watch her play
she made a suggestion box and read every single one
she started a thing where she made slides for the elementary schoolers and read to them every week
she let students come in during lunch and play games and talk and chill (which is amzing cuz our school was HELLA strict, like middle schoolers could only sit at the tables or on the grass. you cant walk anywhere else.)
and we all loved her sm, she was the best <33 i miss her cuz now im in high school and the kid i tutored told on me thursday she moved and she doesnt work there anymore and now i miss her even moree but ill see if i can find her insta time for the actual stories of me and the one other office aide šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ - we built a throne out of old textbooks and made a whole photosoot using paper decorations - we spent an entire hour just reading and laughing at this book about toilets - we spent 15 minutes learning how to use a key cuz we locked ourselves outside of the school (we had keys with acsess to the whole school and all the gates, were just stupid) - had so many debates with elementary schoolers who snuck in about the best pjo character and other books - kicked said elementary schoolers out because the school didnt allow them to be there after their school ended (then snuck them back in) - we spent an entire period just playing random songs and videos on the TVs and kept trying to change it to Never Going To Give You Up - kirby. so much kirby. EVERYWHERE - SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR omg, the books come in the shelves pre-pepared but the shelves are like tall, metal blocks on wheels you need to open up yourself and move around. we ended up creating a labryinth and getting trapped then i stacked a rolly stool on a chair and that didnt work cuz the stool was bigger than the chair and even tho i would have surived, they said it was too dangerous so i had to climb on a booksehlf to jump over these 6 foot tall bookselves we opened wrong and escape the maze - selling at said scholastic fair which was so fun <33 (i want a retail job so badd) - the amount of times i just sat and read while sorting books- - theres prolly more im forgetting lol, this is getting long tho so ill just end itt TYSM FOR THE ASK, THIS WAS LITERALLY MY FAVORITE CLASS IN ALL OF MIDDLE SCHOOL (barely beat geometry) AND I LOVELOVELOVE TALKING ABOUT ITT

Challenges Faced During Tutoring Job Hunt & The Solutions
Job hunting is one of the most complicated tasks these days. Increasing competition with reduced job opportunities is why graduates face difficulties in this matter. However, there are some better options available to deal with the issue. For example, tutors can look for online math tutor jobs and more.
Tumblr media
What makes the tutoring job hunt more complicated? We all have been witnessing a fierce rise in unemployment rates in the world. Every country has been somewhat failing to introduce the opportunities. Along with this, rising population and competition are the causes behind these unfortunate results. If we discuss tutoring jobs lately & specifically, the challenges are equally devastating. For example, recruiters ask for the experience and expertise of tutors, even beginners, which is a bit annoying. Beginners have not been enjoying many opportunities already, and now if they have to get tutoring jobs at well-recognized institutes, they have to gain experience. Experience is not the only challenge here. Getting a satisfactory job is also one. Most times, beginner tutors have to compromise with their choices. They have to settle down with a job opportunity that doesn't meet personal criteria to gain experience. It is one of the reasons tutors feel detached from their jobs and cannot guide the learners in the right way. In these situations, every tutoring job seeker needs a reliable solution. These job seekers want exposure rather than compromising with their careers. So, how can they get a permanent solution? What is a reliable solution to this problem? Whether tutors teach English, maths, or any other subject, they should explore online English tutoring jobs and more. Many online tutoring platforms introduce great job opportunities. The best part here is whether you are an expert tutor or just a beginner, you will find a job that meets your expectations. Firstly, you can teach students from any part of the world. You can enjoy the flexibility the most. Along with this, online tutoring jobs can help you improve your skills and gain experience. So, you no longer need to settle down with an unsatisfactory job. Can i request a comfort fluffy fic with Scarlett Johansson x f!reader? reader being extremely stressed out about finding a new job , work, school and her toxic life at home(since reader still lives with her family even though reader desperately does want to move out of her parents house and not using Scarlett as the main reason to). Reader is just so tired and beat down that she just wishes to be a housewife.
Housewife
Being a college student nowadays sucked. Everybody put so much pressure on you and overloaded you with work online that you barely had time for a break.
In addition to that youā€™re family put even more pressure on you and didnā€™t even get along so you could concentrate. They were always screaming and throwing stuff around until you couldnā€™t contain yourself anymore.
So every time you had to learn you made your way over to your girlfriends, Scarlett, even when she wasnā€™t there. It wasnā€™t uncommon for her to enter the house and be surprised when she saw you at the table clearly frustrated.
She hated days like today, where she found you sitting at the table, your eyes red from crying and a frown evident from the frustration. ā€œHello my love. Are you alright?ā€ She asked carefully as she made her way behind you. ā€œHi babeā€ you mumbled trying to understand your notes while Scarlett messaged your shoulders.
ā€œWhatā€™s wrong? Cmon talk to meā€ you sighed and turned to her. She sat next to you and waited for your answer. ā€œI canā€™t do all of this anymore, school, my family, all this pressureā€¦ itā€™s getting to much. I canā€™t even take care of our relationship anymoreā€ you cried out burying your face into you hands. ā€œLovely, why didnā€™t you tell me sooner? We can find you a tutor and we can find a solution with your familyā€. It hurt the blind to see you like this, so hurt and overwhelmed.
ā€œScar, you donā€™t get it. I do not want to and I cannot anymore. Itā€™s too much, I just wanna stay home and take care of the house and the peopleā€ you told her silent tears running down your face.
To be honest, Scarlett was in love with the idea of coming home to you every night and being able to spoil you while you could take care of her. But she didnā€™t want you to depend on her, you should be able to life on your own, just in case.
ā€œMy love, Iā€™m sorry I didnā€™t realize all of this sooner but I think Iā€™ve got an idea.ā€ She told you and pulled you into her lap where you buried your head into the crook of her neck finally feeling home. ā€œHow about you move in with me and as soon as you have your degree you can be a house wifeā€¦ my house wifeā€ you couldnā€™t contain your excitement and pressed your lips to hers in a row of kisses.
ā€œAre you sure itā€™s okay if I move in with you? I donā€™t have any money I could really give youā€ you suddenly were concerned but your girlfriend was quick to deal with them. ā€œI donā€™t want any money! I only want more time with you and for you to be alrightā€ she insisted. ā€œGod, I love youā€ you mumbled against her lips.
The next day you told your family that you were moving out. And the day after that your friends and your girl helped you move your things.
You got a tutor and finished your degree as soon as you could. And as soon as you were out of school? You loved being a housewife while sometimes freelancing. Scarlett treated you like a queen and you did the same to her.
Youā€™ve never been happier and she hasnā€™t been either

Tell me if Iā€™m incorrect, but from what I gathered I THINK you work in the education industry.
And I am going to happily voice that if that is the case you are the coolest teacher ever, and I wish that I had you as a teacher, despite the fact I would have never have known that fact.
Now thinking back to my time there, I can absolutely think of a specific four that must have been in the fanfiction community. No doubt there.
Lol, I work as an online essay reviewer for an international tutoring company, but I'm not a teacher! I also worked as an in-person student teacher during college, but alas, I regret to inform you that you would NOT have enjoyed having me as a teacher because I hate teaching more than anything! Teaching requires a lot of skills and patience that I don't have, and I literally almost dropped out of college because of it. My job right now is asynchronous and I don't have to actually talk to students, I just provide a written report of how to improve their work, so I don't feel like dying every day, but yeah, no I definitely would not have been a fun teacher to have lol
I appreciate the sentiment though!

College Days
College.
Youā€™ve never really given it much thought. Youā€™d been editing videos since high school, have made a decent income from it, and never really thought of pursuing anything else. It also helps that although your parents never really cared for you, at least not in the ways that you needed, they had left you enough money to be able to manage on your own for a few years, even with the hefty hospital bills.
So, further education has never been on your mind, didnā€™t seem like a priority with how your life has been going so far.
But Jason, surprisingly, wanted to go, brought it up over dinner one night before he went out for patrol.
ā€œWhat do you think about English Lit, mouse?ā€ He had asked as he pushed his food around with his fork.
ā€œLike, as a subject?ā€
ā€œWell, yeah, like, what do you think if I take it up when the new term starts at Gotham U?ā€
ā€œI, really, Jason? You want to go?ā€
ā€œI always liked reading, books, discussing them with Alfred. So, I figured, why not?ā€
ā€œBut do you need to go to college for that? You can, like, sign up for a book club at the library or something.ā€
Thereā€™s a light blush on Jasonā€™s cheeks and he tries to hide it with his hand, tries to play it off. Heā€™s embarrassed. ā€œItā€™s not just books. I liked school.ā€
ā€œWell, then sure. I think English Lit is a good course for you to take up.ā€
ā€œWhy donā€™t you go with me?ā€
ā€œI, I canā€™t afford the tuition, Jason.ā€ Now you were playing around with your food, finding it easier to look at than Jason. You could see that he was excited, that this is something he wanted for the both of you.
ā€œSo, apply for a scholarship. Hell, we have money. Itā€™s no big deal.ā€
ā€œNo, you have money.ā€
ā€œMouse. If you want to go, Iā€™ll make sure it happens.ā€
So, college. Itā€™s an interesting idea. You think that more than teaching you things that you can learn on the internet anyway, itā€™s the experience that you want to have. High school was rough, but you think that being on the same campus as Jason might be interesting. Youā€™d at least have a friend to have lunch with.
Itā€™s just, do you really want to take up math again? It seems like itā€™s an unavoidable subject, that all courses have to at least have the basic units. Algebra and Statistics. And you think, is going back to school really worth it?
ā€œI can help you. Youā€™re not going in this alone.ā€ Jason laughs in that airy chuckle like way of his, more like an amused puff of air, when he sees you sort through different course pamphlets. Rather than ranking them by genuine interest, you were tossing out the courses that required more than two math units, the minimum.
ā€œYouā€™ll have other things to worry about, Jason. Youā€™ll have your own classes, patrol, you canā€™t just drop everything and tutor me.ā€
ā€œThis is supposed to be fun, mouse.ā€
ā€œI just donā€™t want to fail.ā€
ā€œYouā€™re not going to,ā€ Jason says confidently. Heā€™s been getting more and more comfortable with the idea of going back to school by the day. Heā€™s looked up past syllabuses online, looked into forums where students discussed the best teachers for each subject. ā€œBut even if you do, itā€™s alright. Weā€™re there to learn. Itā€™s not like youā€™re gunning for a desk job after, right? Youā€™re settled here. Just choose something thatā€™s interesting.ā€
ā€œI did always want to try art.ā€
ā€œThere you go! And look, only two units of math!ā€
ā€œUgh. You better make time for me in your schedule. Iā€™m going to need all the help I can get.ā€
ā€œIā€™ll always have time for you.ā€
...
a/n: inspired by the fact that jason loves books and i genuinely think (and iā€™m pretty sure iā€™ve seen discussions about it somewhere with actual proof) that jasonā€™s a nerd and did enjoy school
also iā€™m just projecting my own frustrations with going back to school and math here. iā€™ve graduated years ago but still stick to the fact that if i didnā€™t have to take math ever again, iā€™d go back.
