if you want a taste of that classic goodness try Mario Kart Wii the community has fan run servers and the game has a vibrant modding community 17 years later there is new fan content coming out all the time and the game has a high skill ceiling but is still super fun for casuals, also there is no in-game chat of any kind because Mario Kart Wii was one of the first Console games to support Online Multiplayer that wasnt shit

Online games are a nightmare. I've literally gotten death threats for not being good enough, and I once saw someone tell another player to kill themselves because of a MISTAKE in the unranked, casual game mode. Like... you spent ten minutes tops on a team together. It is not that serious jfc

I've never been one for online multiplayer. The idea of playing with random people from around the world was always just kind of weird to me.

But it's required for the Uncharted 4: A Thief's End platinum, so fine. Thankfully very little is required. Just five matches. I do a few more, just to see if I'll improve, but I don't.

But you know what's really mean? What's impolite. To leave someone alone in a players versus players match.

Me wondering why I keep dying. Turns out my whole team has simply left.
