8 Key Market Research Industry Trends
The technology continues to advance; market research methods and techniques are constantly evolving. Staying up to date with the latest market research trends is essential for businesses to make informed decisions and stay ahead of the competition.
In this blog, we will explore some of the top market research trends that are shaping the industry. These trends are driven by advancements in technology, changing consumer preferences, and the need for businesses to adapt to an ever-evolving market.
By embracing these trends, businesses can gain valuable insights, make informed decisions, and stay ahead in the market. As we approach 2023, businesses must prioritize these trends to drive growth and success in their market research strategies.
In 2023, market research trends are expected to focus on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and blockchain. There will be a greater emphasis on personalized marketing, data-driven decision making, and customer experience.
Additionally, sustainability and social responsibility will continue to be key considerations for businesses as consumers become more conscious of their impact on the environment and society.
Top 2023 Market Research Trends
Market research is a critical component of any successful business strategy. It provides valuable insights into consumer behavior, market trends, and competition. As we approach 2023, it is essential for businesses to stay ahead of the curve by embracing the latest market research trends.
We will explore the top eight trends that are expected to shape the market research industry in 2023.
1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML):
AI and ML technologies continue to revolutionize the market research landscape. These technologies enable businesses to automate processes, analyze vast amounts of data, and derive actionable insights. AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants can collect real-time customer feedback, while ML algorithms can identify patterns and predict consumer behavior. By leveraging AI and ML, businesses can make data-driven decisions and gain a competitive edge.
2. Predictive Analytics:
Predictive analytics has gained significant momentum in recent years and is set to become even more prominent in 2023. By leveraging historical data and advanced modeling techniques, businesses can forecast market demand, identify potential risks, and optimize their strategies. Predictive analytics empowers businesses to make proactive decisions, stay ahead of the competition, and maximize their growth potential.
3. Voice Search and Smart Speakers:
With the rise of voice-enabled devices and smart speakers like Amazon Echo and Google Home, voice search is becoming increasingly prevalent. This trend provides valuable insights into consumer preferences, behavior, and intent. By understanding how consumers use voice search, businesses can tailor their marketing strategies and optimize their products and services accordingly.
4. Mobile Research:
Mobile research has been a significant trend in recent years and will continue to grow in 2023. With the increasing use of smartphones, businesses can leverage mobile surveys, in-app feedback, and location-based data collection to gather real-time insights. Mobile research offers convenience for respondents and allows businesses to reach a wider audience, resulting in more accurate and comprehensive data.
5. Social media Listening and Sentiment Analysis:
Social media platforms have become a treasure trove of consumer insights. Businesses can leverage social media listening tools to monitor conversations, track brand sentiment, and identify emerging trends. Sentiment analysis, powered by AI, helps businesses understand customer emotions and preferences. By actively engaging with customers on social media, businesses can gain valuable feedback, build stronger relationships, and enhance their brand reputation.
6. Blockchain Technology:
Blockchain is revolutionizing various industries, including market research. This technology offers enhanced security, transparency, and trust in Data collection and analysis. It allows businesses to securely store and share data, ensuring its integrity and authenticity. Blockchain technology also enables incentivized data sharing, where consumers are rewarded for providing their data, leading to higher response rates and more accurate research results.
7. Video and Visual Research:
Video and visual research methods are gaining popularity due to their ability to capture rich and authentic consumer insights. With the rise of smartphones and social media platforms, consumers are creating and sharing more video content than ever before. By leveraging video and visual research techniques, businesses can gain a deeper understanding of consumer behavior, preferences, and emotions.
8. Sustainability and Ethical Research Practices:
In an era of increased awareness about environmental and social issues, businesses need to adopt sustainable and ethical research practices. This trend involves conducting research that respects privacy, protects data, and minimizes the environmental impact. Businesses that prioritize sustainability and ethical research practices are likely to build stronger relationships with consumers and gain a competitive edge in the market.
The market research landscape is constantly evolving, driven by advancements in technology and changing consumer preferences.
These top eight trends for 2023 will shape the industry and provide businesses with valuable insights to make informed decisions. By embracing these trends, businesses can stay ahead of the competition and ensure their strategies align with the evolving market.
As we move into 2023, it is crucial for businesses to stay updated on these trends and leverage them to drive success in their market research efforts. Whether it’s leveraging AI and ML for data analysis, utilizing voice search insights, or embracing sustainable research practices, businesses that stay ahead of the curve will be well-positioned to thrive in the dynamic and competitive marketplace.
Hence, Market research is a powerful tool for businesses to understand consumer behavior, identify market trends, and stay competitive.

plybe partnering to sell V3 caratbongs at select targets... why do I feel like they still have a big stock of V3s that they haven't been able to sell until now 😂
#honestly this will probably work somewhat#like casual fans in the us who havent bought a light stick#bc its not worth the shipping costs or just didnt even bother to look online for it#might see it in store and think 'oh its right here why not?'#especially if theyre being sold before tour dates#i still hope they continue to sell as slowly as possible so next time plybe wants to sell a new version they learn their lesson#and actually do market research on what carats want <3#i still think it would have been smart if the V3 was the same design as V2 but with updated tech ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#melia.txt

someday if i can figure out how the hell people get these things made i would like to do some little destiny & malice acrylic charms. i think those are so fun. and while i mostly want them for Myself i figure that if i DID figure out the process, i should maybe open up the option to anyone else that might want them, soooo...
informal poll: if i figure out how all that works, would any of y'all be into that, and approximately how many of you?
#day 26#year 5#my ocs#destiny chainsaw#malice winterfang#i know i've said i don't really like the idea of commissions and this isnt like a PROMISE or anything#i still have a lot of research to do before i commit to a shop of any kind#BUT. i think like a redbubble or something in that vein might be a manageable project#i mention stickers specifically because that seems like a very manageable thing to produce and ship even if i didnt go through like#a service to do so#particularly because i dont think id get a TON of orders for my niche OCs lol#but if i got some practice with something small like this it MIIIIGHT help me build up to making things for a larger market like...#say... well you know what i'm about over here lmao#we've basically all but gotten the official blessings of the powers that be to make homestuck merch without fear of reprisal at this point#ANYWAY that would be a ways off and be a much MUCH bigger project both artistically and in terms of like#me learning how Online Commerce works from the seller end.#BUT I HAVE BEEN CONSIDERING IT. and it seems to me that it would at least be relatively simple to sell like. prints of old art maybe#i dunno! like i said i'll see how the poll shakes out while i do a bit more research

adding to my tags because i’ve been thinkin a lot about the post i just reblogged and have more thoughts:
i’ll be real, the more i saw ‘hey adhd influencers are so annoying’ the more i worried that i was unconsciously contributing to the spreading reputation of adhd folks as annoying and over-pathologizing every symptom they experience
and then i realized. i am not a goddam influencer or life coach or representative. obviously i have some obligation as someone who cares about myself and the people that like my comics to not spread harmful ideology or blatant misinformation but i never intended myself to be a “’increase your productivity!!’ blog OR a ‘if you have XYZ you have adhd!’ blog. and i do this for fun, and originally started this blog bc i had a lot of internalized shame and self loathing about my adhd and thought if i could make it funny i might have less of that. let’s get real! and it worked!
i’ve obviously done this kind of thing— (hey these symptoms might be adhd!) a lot before in my life & on this blog, but there’s more to it than trying to be an “influencer” or whatever. a term that didn’t even exist when i started this blog!
i felt very isolated trying to find out if i had any mental problems & what have you originally because of large advice (etc) blogs with staunchly anti self Dx views at the time
so i overcorrected when i DID get dxed and tried to validate everyone who was like me. and of course. not the best course of action always for the ol mental health. tried to be the source of positivity and jokes that i didn’t see because the online adhd presence was near non-existent.
and anyway. i make a lot of fun of myself & the way m brain works in my comics obviously but it is not my obligation to... how do you say.... not be annoying online.
because if folks interpret MY little jokes as a strict guide to diagnosis. that’s on them, really, not me. i also believe “making adhd your entire personality” is a non-issue. so what if people find out they have it and get over excited with identifying as adhd. saying this as someone who DID do it. criticism of this gives the same vibes as people being annoyed that young queers make “being queer” their whole personality. im very obviously more than a guy with adhd, and id reckon other adhd comic artists are too. (im friends with a lot of them!) it’s fine to post about it online.
anyway. i just don’t take myself too seriously and i’m a comic artist for myself first! and you know what, i’ve been considered annoying my entire life. what do i care if a few more folks think i’m annoying. neurotypical or not
#i think the article did have some good points especially on the capitalism and marketing angle but i oft think it did venture into#being mad at individual folks who post jokes about adhd. which is literally fine thats what an opinion piece is for lol#i am just very tired of people pretending that a lot of reaction to online adhders is not in itself just an extension of the ableism#we already were facing#'adhd people are so annoying everyone does this youre pathologizing everything' ok and how exactly are you helping.#i hesitate to throw my hat in with hating on adhd tiktok because i am simply not on tiktok and have no way to back up my thoughts#that they may be annoying and oversimplifying a complex disorder on the 'drains your attention span' website.#and i think perhaps the value of each adhd resource varies widely depending on who made it and what theyre even posting.#sometimes its a joke made by a person with adhd. sometimes its sourced and cited research. sometimes its someone discussing their personal#experiences in depth. sometimes its someone talking completely out of their ass. sometimes its THINLY veiled ableism.#its up to the individual to research and determine the value of the memes and resources you seek#anyway. perhaps these points are tough to clarify on sites like insta and twitter. bless.#text#adhd#im punk now#oh and yeah i also agree lots of folks do not talk about the unsavory parts of adhd but rather the funnies and the sillies. but that is#once again a larger capitalism and marketing and ableism problem#r we not talking about them because we are actively trying to infantalize this disorder or is it because we collectively experience a lot#of internalized ableism and hesitate to talk about our worst symptoms for fear of the backlash#weve always gotten about them 🤔🤔🤔#much to consider#if youve read this far sorry for tangent number 56 about this. but also start being more unapologetic about your disorders. fuck it!#<3

i'm so sad nerd culture has been corporatized because it's so accessible that it's been cheapened.
i don't mean this in a gatekeepy way; if i wanted a poster of fanart of, say, welcome to nightvale, i'd have to order it from the artist or buy it at a con or draw the damn thing myself.
now, fanart is still being made but i can log onto any of the various chinese sites (including amazon) and get a poorly manufactured print of someone's art without ever having the artist themself involved or paid. and i'll have a low quality wall hanging. and because it's so accessible, i can do this 50 times. cover a wall in it. overpay for something i could make on my home printer, get none of the satisfaction or human experience, but cultivate the aesthetic of that particular wall.
and it's completely loveless
there's no joy to the discovery of cheap crap on amazon that will fit the ~vibe~ i'm going for. there's no passion when i order a stack of ten arts that go together because they scream "nerdy" and use catchphrases that were played out in 2010.
i go to events and see people reselling stickers they got off wish for a dollar apiece, when the 50 pack was a dollar.
it's all so soulless
so when i say nerd culture sucks now, i don't mean "aaaa too many people i don't like have discovered that cool stuff is actually cool" like people love to pretend is the problem (though we can discuss the neurotypical invasion and subsequent ousting of autistics from traditionally social-reject circles later) the problem is that capitalism has sucked the joy out of it. 42 isn't an in-joke, it's a brand slogan at this point. everything is "wibbly wobbly" now. merchandise featuring d20s is some of the most popular cheap shitgifts you can get for holidays. everyone has seen how dragons consider you good with ketchup.
it's exhausting. none of the cheap crap is special. the market is oversaturated.
and now when i say i like xyz show, even though i liked it for 20 years, people do the whole "name three of their songs" type shit because they expect fandom to be so commodified that we have to be experts on every nuance if we've enjoyed something (or even loved it passionately) for so long. i haven't seen much doctor who past matt smith, but i've seen a shitload of baker and davison. being weird at me because i don't have an opinion on clara when i've only seen her twice is just obnoxious. because now, everyone's experience with a show or fandom is supposed to have some kinda alignment. when i was coming up, some of us had seen episodes others hadn't because they were still missing, or had to be torrented, or we went out of our way to find them, so every fan had a personal and unique relationship with the franchise. that just makes you out of touch now. if you haven't got all the info the youtube digests feed viewers, or the tiktok trends spread, you're a poser. if you don't like 5th ed d&d, you're boring and old. if you enjoy THAC0 you're a weirdo; but in a few years when the hipster zoomers discover it you can bet that my inability to calculate it myself will mean that i'm the poser.
i want the experience of having to order my specialty weeb shit from japan. i miss finding the vhs tapes of episodes of shows that didn't air anymore. yeah, that shit was more expensive back then, but it also meant that there was less drive to consume for all of it. each individual item i found was a special treasure, and that's just not the case anymore.
#for clarity#i do not use amazon temu wish shein or any other chinese/primarily chinese online retailer#and yes amazon is a primarily chinese retailer now; i'd recommend researching that shit but i don't have any handy links...i#i used to work for a server farm that “didn't” serve clients in china setting up dozens of storefronts in amazon to take over the market#anyway i quit binge shopping a little while ago when i ran out of money (good time to quit) and this consumerist bs has been getting me#people i know buy stuff because “i'm a funko girlie” or “i collect little backpacks” or “i have to have everything hello kitty”#and that's literally the only thing they feel sure about in their identity#consumerism is not an identity#and it is making it hard for real love and passion to flourish#it's ok if it's a little hard to be a nerd#laziness isn't really one of the defining traits#working hard to make our life better no matter what other people think of our hobbies is a good thing#do what you love#but don't buy shit for the aesthetic#at least diy lol#nerdy#gatekeeping#overconsumption#commodification#nerd culture

I think about a query and a cover letter and how i need to look up what theyre called because i dont even know. Let alone know how to write them well and which things are required for what, and how i heard publishers only expect emails during calls for wubmissions so I dont know where to look for those but i also need to learn that from Somewhere i can learn such info. And how i know how to format a book for print, with mirrored margins and all the rest of that specific spacing stuff, but i have no idea the formatting requirements for a manuscript sent to a publisher (although hopefully that will be on their site as a style guide requirement directions and formatting IS something thankfully i'll be able to easily Look Up and Follow Directions to do). But the letter you send to pitch a novel and the length of manuscript expected (1 page? 1 chapter?) Or what kind of summary blurb they want, or if they want a summary or a "marketing blurb" that keeps some parts mysterious and enticing. And what's most frustrating, the reason i'm complaining, is when I look these things up the articles with advice do not say WHAT they are, basic requirements and basic expectations, it is IMPLIED the reader has as much familiarity with the definitions of these terms and when these items are needed as adults are expected to be familiar with job Resumes and standard Good Practice Format out of the gate. But with Resumes, high school and parents did provide some basic guideline directions and basic informafion like "include X, do not include Y, summarize Z" and "use keywords found in job description" and "keep it short such as one page or you may give a bad impression" and "do it in basic X fonts, basic colors, unless the job is particularly creative with unusual expectations of your resume" with similar directions about cover letters such as "state job you're applying for, summarize your education and some relevant experience, say you'd like the job and say why if you'd like, end with your contact information, keep it under a page ideally." I do not know the expected lengths of query letters, font expectations in the emails, if its an email or attachment, if it's submitted only during calls for submissions (i assume yes), how to find submission calls, what the title of the email should be, what the blurb length shpuld be and what it should Contain (summary? Marketing keywords? Your writing style or more technical key point information? Length/word count minimun and max? Should a summary be the whole main plot in a few key point sentences or be only the premise with the ending a mystery? Should it be entertainingly stylistic, or technical?) I look up requirements for publishing submissions and its so often expected the readers know what all these specific requirements and Norms in Writing them already are, so all the advice in the article is specialized like "you already KNOW what to submit, what the requirement is, now here's how to be Noticed Better." So it amounts to an equivalent to advice articles that do not state what a cover letter must contain or how to format it, but instead only focuses on specific ways of sounding more Convincing or Unique in your cover letter. Which is not super helpful if you... do not even know what a cover letter should contain to BE a correctly made cover letter to begin with.
#rant#what this amounts to is. im going to have to do a ton of research. which in theory is fine#but its so FRUSTRATING that its so hard to find basic information on WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED AND EXPECTED#AND WHAT THEY SHOULD CONTAIN AND HOW#like. i literally have looked up WHAT ARE THESE like for 20 hours this week#and about every 6 months i look it up and research for 20-40 hours for a month and just#i still have no fucking clue 1#WHAT it is i specifically need to make for resume equivalents for submitting to publishers#2 what those documents should SPECIFICALLY contain and the formatting (in email? as attachment? title? summary or marketing plug? expected#keywords?)#because if i were a publishet yeah id simply THROW OUT submissions that do not contain the basic submission required documents#if the documebts werent included or were but contained totally irrelevant information and not the correct expected information#3 i cant find any guides that explain BASICALLY what the fuck all thid stuff is#i imagine maybe they teach ppl in college pursuing creative writing#but the articles im finding online are all skipping basic info. and basic info is what i need

jfc i am so tired of always having to assume that there's an undisclosed, required app involved whenever i buy something these days
#my partner sent me a link to a watch he wants for his birthday that collects data about heartrate and sleep patterns and stuff#when he sent me this link he had already done the heavy lifting of even *finding* a watch that *works* in that way without being online#but i do not trust *any company* when it comes to personal data so i felt the need to additionally check if there was an app#there was no mention of an app in the product description on the link my partner sent me#but wouldn't you know it. after googling for a bit i found that there was an app.#read the info and privacy policy for the app and concluded that they ask for a lot of permissions and use a lot of data#including health data ofc#BUT the good thing was that the app isn't VITAL for the use#it just like. provides additional functions. (and uses your data for marketing purposes yay!!)#so i asked my partner whether he'd be ok with using the watch without the additional functions and he said yes#i still don't trust 100 % that there's nothing freaky going on here even without the app#but at least it *seems* like it should work as intended without data sharing to the supplier or a third party#success i guess#only took me half an hour or so of research#and that's as a privacy expert 🫠#i hate this world man#(the downside of living w/ a privacy professional is i refuse to buy or own things that trigger my 'ick sensor' in regard to personal data)#(the upside of living w/ a privacy professional is you can avoid common privacy traps in your daily life. yaayy)#nagnerd#a nerd nags

The Importance of Market Research Surveys
In the ever-evolving world of business, staying ahead of the curve requires a deep understanding of the market landscape. Market research surveys have emerged as indispensable tools for gaining insights that shape strategies, drive innovation, and inform decisions. In this article, we’ll explore the significance of market research surveys and how they empower businesses to navigate the complexities of today’s dynamic markets. 1. The Foundation of Informed Decisions Market research surveys lay the groundwork for informed decision-making. They provide businesses with the data needed to understand customer preferences, needs, and behaviors. Armed with this knowledge, companies can tailor their products, services, and marketing efforts to effectively meet customer demands. 2. Customer-Centric Approaches Customers are at the core of every successful business. Market research surveys offer a direct line of communication with customers, allowing businesses to gain insights into their desires, pain points, and opinions. These insights foster the development of customer-centric strategies that create meaningful connections and enhance brand loyalty. 3. Identifying Market Trends Market trends can shift rapidly, and keeping pace is essential for sustained success. Market research surveys enable businesses to identify emerging trends and capitalize on them. Whether it’s the adoption of new technologies or shifts in consumer behavior, surveys provide real-time insights that guide timely adjustments. 4. Uncovering Untapped Opportunities Innovation often arises from identifying unmet needs and gaps in the market. Market research surveys play a pivotal role in uncovering untapped opportunities. By exploring customer pain points and gauging interest in potential products or services, businesses can seize opportunities that others might overlook. 5. Competitive Edge In a competitive landscape, a well-informed strategy can mean the difference between leading the market or falling behind. Market research surveys provide a competitive edge by offering insights into competitors’ strengths and weaknesses. This knowledge informs strategic positioning and enables businesses to differentiate themselves effectively. 6. Product Development and Improvement Bringing a successful product to market requires understanding the nuances of customer preferences. Market research surveys help businesses develop products that align with these preferences. Moreover, surveys can gather feedback on existing products, aiding in continuous improvement and staying attuned to changing customer needs. 7. Risk Mitigation Business decisions are inherently accompanied by risks. Market research surveys act as risk mitigation tools by allowing companies to test concepts and ideas before investing significant resources. Understanding customer reactions and preferences in advance reduces the chances of costly missteps. 8. Effective Marketing and Messaging Effective marketing hinges on resonating with your target audience. Market research surveys provide insights into the language, imagery, and messaging that resonate most with customers. This knowledge enhances the precision and effectiveness of marketing campaigns, maximizing their impact. 9. ROI Amplification Investments in market research surveys yield substantial returns.
