An Online Bookstore

Okay, time for this to finally go on my blog. This Friday, (the 4th of April in case anybody sees this later), I'm going to launch a brand new community for fiction authors (both published and planning to be) and readers. The general audience of the books is 13-25, but I'm not turning away anybody who's older. Essentially, this is just a PG-13+ zone. As the title of this post implies, it's going to be an online bookstore, but one that's run by the authors. I've been smiling whenever I see that post about how scary/exciting it is to become moots with your favorite author. Well, this is the place for that. Whether you're a reader who wants to get a behind the scenes look at stories and get to know authors or an author who's looking for a way to interact with readers and promote your works without paying for ads, this is for you. Mutations

In my new fantasy trilogy, Changing Waters: Jiol, two groups of citizens mutated to survive in the ocean. They are facing extreme danger at the hands of certain unmutated Jiolans. Each of their groups has its own benefits and characteristics.

The first is more commonly known in media: merpeople. In Jiol, they are actually not called this. They are called "tailed Jiolans" or if someone is being cruel, "scalies." Their tails can come in many colors, ranging from turquoise to deep blue all within the same family. This more animalistic quality leads to them having a greater connection to marine life. Unlike their other mutated and unmutated counterparts, these Jiolans can communicate with sea creatures.

The second group is called "webbed Jiolans" or "fleshies" when someone is being derogatory. As the name suggests, they have webbed hands and feet, but they also have fins on their calves. Their bodies can adjust to various depths and light faster than other Jiolans. This helps them have better vision in the darkness and brightness as well as not be in danger if they quickly swim from low in the ocean to a higher area (since this can actually be very dangerous for scuba divers too, so please be careful if you go!)

in light of the us election...I'm trying to get a job in scotland (or anywhere in the uk/ireland) and hope to stay there for a couple years at least (if you catch my drift) and if anyone has advice on getting a job in the book publishing industry, or if anyone has experience in that field over there, please let me know. I'm getting my postgraduate degree in Creative Writing and English in the spring and was looking at HarperCollins Glascow, though I would accept any book publishing company (big or small) at this point 🙏🙏🙏
