i'm having hyperfixation drought so i did what i did best and created a crossover episode
#trafficblr#life series#hermitcraft#qsmp#the drought's been crazy i had to make qsmp x life series/hermitcraft you don't understand i literally had to#i literally cannot tag all of the cubitos without going over the limit so i'm gonna use them to rant about these doodles instead#when i tell you that i think dl!pearl would've loved tilín i'm telling you i think she would've LOVED them like.#something about just wanting to find love at every turn but feeling unwanted spdihgpisadhfpa. and also tilín's name is similar to tilly LOL#the jelly egg is just like if the double life jelly pandas were just an egg that scar loves with all his heart and grian reluctantly accept#i think out of all the duos in qsmp. the one i would want to see in the dl soumate premise the most is slimeriana. it's the dysfunctionalit#i made a post in the past about pac and tango being my fav cubitos bcs they were both crazy cartoonish and like scientists#but it kinda felt like a disservice to leave mike and zedaph out because to me they're argubly crazier and more cartoonish#missa and tim are paired bcs i just really wanted an excuse to draw the wet cats and it just so happened they both have relations to death#skizz and jaiden as the lawyers who were SHOCKINGLY good at their jobs like they cooked with that one#(was also gonna draw joe and roier as bad lawyers but i was running outta steam)#someone's already made a post about grian and (el) quackity and their eye entities so not much elaboration needed there#fit and etho just give the same vibe to be as a dude who has a reputation and is well-known and seems intimidating#i also made fit's arms way too skinny and i don't like it...but i'm not gonna go back and change it now i spent embarassingly long on this#but then his silliness is brought out by The Narrative#foolish and bdubs is one of my favorite drawings because i just knew i wanted to highlight the silly height difference#just realized they're also both god-like figures at least at some point#cellbit and rendog. cat and dog and lore. enough said about their connection.#i couldn't decide who fit etoiles combat hungry anime protagonist vibe best bcs martyn was originally paired with him#but i wanted martyn with phil so i went with my second options: joel and gem#i couldn't draw them mid rage but essentially the title is derived from “WHO KILLED EMPANADA” and “do me a favor. die for me.”#philza minecraft and martyn inthelittlewood. they feel like twins but one is evil (it's martyn)#SOMETHING I FORGOT THAT I WISH I ADDED: BBH AND BIGB AS THE ENTITIES WHO LIE. I HATE MYSELF HOW COULD I FORGET THAT#if i were to pair impulse with someone it would be tubbo? either him or scar would've been with tubbo#and then lizzie i just did not know who i wanted to pair her with. no one really does it like her in my opinion#scott's someone i also had no idea who to put him with he's just so...him...

thinking about how dean’s character gets simplified in fandom, or more specifically, the very black and white lens that gets applied to him. because integral to dean, from my point of view, is that he is both a victim of abuse and a perpetrator of it. that these two things do not cancel each other out or outweigh each other to the point that only one matters. he’s both, you cannot separate him from the fact that he’s both.
but very often, people do. dean is either a victim. or he’s an abuser. it’s like it’s hard for people to hold both those facts in their heads at once. dean went through incredible amount of trauma as a child and an adult, is routinely faced with violence, has resorted to alcohol abuse to cope with it. he’s also a violent person, someone who retreats into tactics of emotional abuse and control when he feels threatened, who hurts the people around him constantly and the people who are closest to him (ie Sam, Cas, later Jack) get the brunt of that abuse. these are just facts. they’re things that happened on the screen and cannot be denied.
and it’s. idk it’s weird to me (not unexpected, because he’s hardly the only character to ever get this treatment) that dean of all people is the one portrayed in such an either/or way when one of the defining moments of the show for him is that during his stint in Hell, he was tortured and then became a torturer to escape that, to feel like he had some control again, and he relished in it. it’s baked into who he is.
#dean as a victim of abuse who goes on to continue those behaviors is still important to me surprise surprise#i didnt want to put this in the main post but also. from observation. when people start projecting onto him This Gets Worse#because. you know. as noted before: big fandom - lots of queer & neurodivergent people here.#tend to be targetted by abuse. statistically.#and mix that with a character you can project heavily upon. one you can project queer/neurodivergent hcs on even.#then like! understandably stressful to reckon with him being canonically kind of shitty sometimes! no one wants to consider their own#potential for shittiness - not even through a character they just heavily relate to!#(note: opposite happens as well. people project onto sam -> see dean hurt sam -> block out the idea that dean could be just as much victim#as he is abuser. its just. easier like that.)#anyway. none of this is like. a crime. just an observation. really we get all our biases from the society we live in — a society obsessed#with perfect victims and evil unredeemable abusers.#all that stuff leaks into fandom takes whether we want it to or not#dean winchester#spn

Ok I know I'm heavily biased here but like I kinda love that Astarion's romance is one of the few in this type of video game where you basically end up canonically unmarried and childfree in his "good" ending? Just travelling the world??
Like it's honestly the millennial dream lmfaoo cannot believe i chose what would undoubtedly be my favorite option, first try
#also love that he's basically atheist like ok thanks you made the man exactly coded to be my type#and the humor and beautiful curly hair is very much something my IRL partner has too so like... how can i resist#anyways not sure a lot of people relate cause i think a lot of people want that fairytale romance#even tho wyll is right there yall#but i love me an unconventional or nontraditional one!!#i'm TIRED of being married with children as the endgame pls let's not do it#also a lot of people seem into him being a dad and im like... how? why? where in canon did he ever lmfao#more power to ya if you dig it but i just dont see it being in character#like in DAI i loved cullen and my inquisitor getting married and having a dog#and they seem the type to wants kids one day. but Tav & Astarion? lol no#i just think it's neat#is this a hot take? i have no idea but i don't see it mentioned a lot as a new fan tbh#pls do not come at me you can enjoy whatever you like#i haven't seen the ascended stuff so idk if being his 'consort' is like being his bride#but i feel like overall it's not and the vibe isn't all that different in this sense#except that you're hosting evil parties instead of travelling :/#Astarion#bg3 spoilers#baldur's gate 3#baldur's gate 3 spoilers#bg3#also YEA he's nice to Arabella but you can tolerate certain kids without wanting one or being 'good parent' material#case in point: me lmfao#OKAY update i saw the AA stuff and yeah you're kind of implied vamp married and he does mention spawn as children 😫#but he also says in banter he won't make any other spawn??? so what is it dude#anyway that's also clearly the “bad” route and he doesn't seem as happy as unascended#who feels “truly free”#and if you're durge I'm pretty sure its even worse to consider having kids?? lol#but i digress#pk plays bg3

The bonus art on your post about Young!Stanley meeting Bill where he’s standing on top of what I assume is the portal is making me go insane cuz before Mabel intervened in that one episode Stan had a fear of heights and assuming he had it when he was a kid there’s no way Bill doesn’t know about it since he’s in Young!Stanley’s mind and all I can think about is Bill unpossessing Stanley while up there and him panicking and/or freezing up when he comes to his senses and realizes how high up he is and Ford just fucking loosing his mind like “Oh god he’s gonna fall oh god oh god-“
eehehe ehehehehehee stanley better keep his footing when Bill leaves, or else
for angst purposes im making the portal bigger now (? *plays that song that plays in that scene of Avatar when the protag falls from the plane gonna ramble in the tags now thank u
#i actually totally forgot stanley was afraid of height like. canonically#HUHUHUH its all coming together#no one knows but this was also a fusion of “twins in time”- “relativity falls" and that one AU where kid stanford and stanley meet Baby Bil#so technically the Other reason why Stanley trusted Bill is cuz when he introduced himself he was like “omg billy!” in his mind#but im working on how to make everything work without it being relativity falls related. like how to get adult stanley and kid stanford int#gravity falls. i actually already have it planned but teehee#plus my friend gave me a few extra thoughts on how to make it work without it being relativity falls#now my struggle is i gotta rewatch a few episodes#also was thinking of bringing bill's parents for funsies because i think thats how stanley should get “unpossessed”#that aint necessarily canon to this little AU just a nice thing to think bout#it aint gonna be a long AU if i continue doodling stuff cuz im not good at having ideas they all suck teehee but yeah anyway thank u!#im glad u like my evil thoughts!#making no comment on stanley's health after being unpossessed#gravity falls au#ask#hornytime6969#nice

I wonder if you can talk about this manhwa called the real daughter is back. Its a manhwa where its a revenge story but a lot of readers dropped understandably because they pity the sister of the fl that is actually a nice person name hyllian. and the story even fl and other characters always treats the sister like a villain even though her sister didn't do anything bad to the fl heck hyllian was truly a kind person who loves and cherish the fl. Also,a lot of people thinks the fl is taking her anger out on the wrong person that is the sister.
Unfortunately I haven't read it. I would try look it up, but I struggle to read new manhwa along those lines. I've tried reading quite a few of them, but after a while you notice... patterns. Female characters are either the main character, evil bitches, or passive side friends, overly exaggerated emotional dialogue, bloated pacing, etc.
I nope out so quickly the moment I see it
I don't doubt the story doesn't treat the FL's sister poorly. The only ones I've read recently that do treat that sort of character well are intentional subversions of the evil sister/mother trope
#not art#it's a shame these tropes are so prevalent#it's just the stock bitch archetype for cheap catharsis and conflict for the main character#and i get that some stories don't need to give their antagonists a lot of depth#but the evil (step) sister/mother trope is rooted in such blatant misogyny#especially when the added step relationship adding to the idea that blood relations are automatically more pure#weirdly one story that subverted the evil sister (though not stepmother unfortunately) is 'Levelling Up My Husband to the Max'#it's quite a sweet/well done take on the story because there's a lot of relationship progression#and the FL's sister is emotionless and the favourite#but she's treated more like she's autistic and they genuinely love each other

I just realized now that if S7 air and Yorishima make his anime debut the number of people believing him being Natsume's grandpa will increase too .... hmmmm ...
I don't know why alot of people believe this tbh .. this idea is funny to me and wrong on many front ...
I'm not denying those people or their ideas and theories .. none know the truth yet so it fun to have many ideas and such ,, it just this is my personal take is all .. actually, I'm opened to hear those people's line of reasoning since this idea never crossed my mind nor am I ever gonna consider it ..
personally, I do believe he play an important different role be it to Reiko or Natsume's real grandfather .. but him being the one is just funny xDD
to say it simply why it felt wrong to me ...
Dose Yorishima appear the type to have ever considered loving someone in his life or be happy ?? we're talking about the same person who always draw a line between him and other people .. he's the Natsume of the past ... even when he got injured, he fully cut all ties with humans so as not worry them or cause trouble to anyone .. hide the truth from his only friend.
I bet making a family of his own never crossed his mind out of not wanting to cause his future wife/kids any grief or pain because he's that kind. plus, he feels he doesn't deserve any kind of happiness.
I think he did talk about this subject with his friend in the past about loving someone and making a family ? I'm not in a state to check said chapter but I don't think my memory fails me ?
Yorishima is a shut-in .. the idea of him going in and out to meet Reiko who's that far away is an amusing idea lol
Yorishima is the type that Reiko would bully for her to fall in love with him or him winning over Reiko, the least type of person he would wanna interact with ever .. the idea of them falling in love and being married is funny sorry xDD >>> now you had me wanting to see these two interact together that badly ugh
if we do assume they were in love and had a daughter .. does Yorishima sound like the type of person to dumb his wife behind when she's pregnant ?? on top of that .. does he look like the type of person to let his wife get killed and leave his daughter left alone???
I'LL DEFEND YORISHIMA AGAINST ANYONE SAYING HE IS !!!
that only to list a few :)
#natsume yuujinchou#natsuyuu#natsume takashi#natsume reiko#I guess I need to defend Yorishima in case he's painted as an evil husband or grandfather ><#this idea is just funny to me in a good way ...#I want him to be my grandpa :)#I don't know what Yorishima's true role is at all ....#but I'm sure of one or maybe two things ...#first he's not the mysterious husband we're eagerly await ..#the other .. I bet he's related or know the truth we seek be it Reiko or the grandfather ...#or will it be something different hmmmm#I don't trust Midorikawa so .... I guess I'm only sure of one thing then#anyway when will we meet anime Yorishima ???

{ It's time to say hello to the parentals for the Yumishi siblings! And yes, that's right, you count four parents. Two sets. Why? Because the Yumishi family is actually very convoluted compared to most normal families. }
{ First off we have Lucifer, who can be found over on @resxntmxnt once I get everything settled, as the biological father of both Myth (who is also over at @resxntmxnt) and Rain (who's over at @negligxnce). He is the ruler of Meikai no Ryōiki, also commonly referred to as the Realm of the Underworld, altering his original seraphic genetics with dark magic to turn himself into a being known solely as the Demon Lord, yet due to having originally been a seraph, he possesses the ability to shapeshift. Lucifer was the original lover of Kisuyo Yumishi, happening upon her by sheer chance within Seikatsu no Ryōiki, also known as the Realm of the Living (aka the human world), one day when she was being attacked by a group of humans that believed her to be the leader of a cultist group (due to the fact she is heavily religious while the mortals of Seikatsu no Ryōiki have no religion/do not believe in religion of any sort); and despite Lucifer's reputation of being a cruel and mischievous being, he went out of his way to rescue her by slaughtering the humans responsible for her injuries.
Once certain that she was safe, Lucifer began to tend to her wounds with his magic, trying to keep conversation to a minimum though this did not last long due to Kisuyo's curious nature, leading for Lucifer and Kisuyo to eventually develop a strong bond for one another — thus resulting in the birth of Myth and Rain. Yet despite this, Lucifer did not stick around for his lover nor his children and ended up returning to Meikai no Ryōiki, leaving Kisuyo with two children to care for all on her own due to the fact that Kisuyo would not be able to survive within Meikai no Ryōiki. He is devastated by the news of Kisuyo's death.
Secondly we have Michael, who can be found over at @anxmosxty once everything is settled over there, as the biological father of Koui and Yuuela (who is also over at @anxmosxty). He is the ruler of Serafu no Ryōiki, also commonly referred to as the Realm of the Seraph, proudly taking his duties as a seraph to heart, earning him the title of Head Angel by those within Serafu no Ryōiki and as a seraph, he possesses the ability to shapeshift. Michael is the second lover of Kisuyo Yumishi, though unlike Lucifer who was willing to care for her, Michael instead was disgusted with her and the fact she had two children with a man she wasn't married to, often pretending to seem kindhearted towards the woman only to judge her in secret. The only reason he would actively spend time with her every day was because of a rumor he'd overheard from the other seraphs about a woman who had given birth to a pair of twins that possessed unnatural abilities for human children, thus he took every chance he could to get close to her and her boys. Though during his time with Kisuyo, he soon discovers that despite all the reticule she receives from the mortals within Seikatsu no Ryōiki, she stills holds tightly to her faith in the Goddess, which in turn makes Michael begin to view Kisuyo in a different light.
Within time, Michael realizes he's fallen in love with Kisuyo, thus resulting in the births of Koui and Yuuela. Unlike Lucifer, Michael is consistent with his daily visits to spend time with his children and Kisuyo, even going out of his way to treat Myth and Rain as his own. Though, once word gets out that the woman from the rumors has had two more children with unnatural abilities and has her identity revealed, Michael stops visiting Kisuyo and her children out of fear of being casted out of Serafu no Ryōiki by the current Goddess, Heiliger, once she discovers that the children born are a forbidden species known as hybrids — constituted of a law that forbids other species from breeding with anyone other than their respective species — and have a contract placed on their heads to be exterminated as soon as possible alongside their mother. He is devastated by the news of Kisuyo's death.
Third we have Kisuyo Yumishi, who can be found here, as the biological mother of Myth, Rain, Koui, and Yuuela. She is a resident of the more olden timed area of Seikatsu no Ryōiki (because Seikatsu no Ryōiki is home to a more olden timed section and a more modern timed section of the realm for those who prefer the more technologically advanced lifestyle or those who prefer the more dated lifestyle), also known as the Realm of the Living, and is presumed to be a human woman by those within the world of Mir Ender. In reality, Kisuyo is actually the daughter of the Goddess, The Sacred One, thus making her a demi-god and serves as a vessel for the Goddess' will within the various realms of Mir Ender. Despite not seeming to possess any abilities, she can actually see the future and share her sight with The Sacred One, but doing so requires a lot of angelic energy and can overwhelm her senses thus why she wears a black cloth over her eyes, leading many to believe that she is blind. Kisuyo is the third oldest child of The Sacred One, being the younger sister of Oizys (the Archfiend of Melancholy), the older sister of Adios (the Saint of Humility), and the older sister of Sophrosyne (the Saint of Temperance), meanwhile Adephagia is the Archfiend of Gluttony. Each of said sisters possessing a mortal name for their travels among the other realms: Adios known as Oka, Sophrosyne known as Maleia, and Adephagia being known as Kisuyo. Oizys is the only one of the sister's to not possess a mortal name out of disinterest in hiding her true identity, thus her sisters simply call her by the name "El" within Seikatsu no Ryōiki among mortals.
Before having her children, Kisuyo was sent to live within Seikatsu no Ryōiki by The Sacred One in order glean how the mortals were fairing in their daily lives, making gathering intel much easier so The Sacred One can make the lives of her residents easier if need be by sending one of her daughters to assist the morals in their true forms (and not as "mortals"). During her time within Seikatsu no Ryōiki, Kisuyo plays the role of a devote worshiper to The Sacred One, serving as a shrine maiden at the Holy Chruch of Heiliger, additionally teaching her children about her religion and convincing them to believe as well. After being abandon by both of her lovers, Kisuyo is then hunted down by an assassin and is killed in front of her children while on their way to the Holy Church of Heiliger for their daily worship, though she does not actually die due to being a demi-god and instead is simply comatose for a time being (until Oizys is able to retrieve her body and awaken her), yet this is unbeknownst to her children who believe she was murdered.
Lastly we have Sire, who can be found over at @prurixncy once everything is settled there, as the biological "mother" of Nikusui (who is also over at @prurixncy) and Inori (who is over at @vxinglxry). You're probably wondering why I said "mother" and not mother. Well, that's because Sire isn't actually a woman in her true form, but is instead a man and said man is Lucifer. Yes, that's right. I said Lucifer. The man I talked about all the way at the top of the post. That Lucifer. Myth and Rain's dad, Lucifer. Demon Lord Lucifer. The one and the same. "Why the hell would Lucifer become a woman to have two children?" Because he blames Michael for the death of Kisuyo and wanted to get back at him for taking away the only woman he loved so dearly, just like Michael believes that Lucifer is the one who took Kisuyo away from him. The both of them believe that the other is responsible for the death of Kisuyo. Why? Because they are both sworn enemies and have always been at odds ever since the incident involving The Sacred One and The Twelve Saints of The Sacred One/The Twelve Heavenly Virtues due to the fact they were both present at the time. The incident that caused The Sacred One to fall into a catatonic state and the divide of The Twelve Heavenly Virtues, which in turn also created the false Goddess known as The Forsaken One and The Seven Archfiends of The Forsaken One. Lucifer and Michael don't trust one another and know that the other would be more than willing to do anything to take away the other's happiness if they could. And yes, they're both aware they fell in love with the same woman.
Basically, Lucifer decides that the best way to exact his revenge on Michael is to become a woman that he can trust and love and become so deeply intertwined with that he simply can't live without her. And that is exactly what happens. Lucifer becomes Sire and acts as a beacon of hope for Michael while he secretly (because he can't let anyone know he was involved with Kisuyo) mourns the lost of his lover and the inevitable loss of his children (since they're being hunted). Sire becomes Michael's crutch. And during a moment of weakness, Sire repeatedly takes advantage of Michael's desperation for his deceased lover, resulting in the births of Nikusui and Inori. Though much like he did with Myth and Rain, he takes Michael's new children away from him and leaves them with Warwick, someone that worships and follows Lucifer, to raise the girls in secret — leaving Michael alone once more to fester about the disappearances of his new children and lover. Only later in time does Michael discover that Sire was Lucifer in disguise. }
{ So if all of you have gotten past all of that, it's time to tell you the exact relations of everyone within the Yumishi family in case you're confused. So here were go!
Lucifer and Kisuyo are the biological parents of Myth and Rain.
Michael and Kisuyo are the biological parents of Koui and Yuuela.
Michael and Sire (aka Lucifer's female form) are the biological parents of Nikusui and Inori.

Oizys, Adios, and Sophrosyne are all the biological aunts of Myth, Rain, Koui, and Yuuela. They are the adoptive aunts of Nikusui and Inori due to the fact neither Lucifer/Sire or Michael are related to The Sacred One.
Myth and Rain are biological brothers (twins).
Koui and Yuuela are biological brother and sister.
Nikusui and Inori are biological sisters.
Myth is the biological half-brother of Koui and Yuuela.

#wip#theyre thumbnails ofc but i feel like none of these work#the ideas for the design are. it has to stay sexy and he is chaotic evil masquerading as lawful good#also looking at like. 90s fashion more than im looking at actual armors for ref#the red griffithesque jewellery is because hes a blackguard so a knight who serves a devil the way paladins serve the dnd gods or whatever#i will probably render all of them d#i like the fb armor cause its the one giving prince charming the most but its not very elias...#also hes blond cause i want him to not look the same as his v/tm counterpart. but thats his natural hair there as well#the red streaks and swords are always in relation to his patron#idk whether to go full dn/d or just make it regular fantasy...#i think i like the chainmail idea the moat#MOST#it makes sense cause hes the son of a duke whose memories were erased with his devil pact so hiding his face does fit but hes too vain

Out of curiosity, any thoughts on the anime Bleach?
I consumed a fairly good chunk of it when I was younger. It's since faded in my passions. I think Rolling Star by Yui is by far my favorite of the openings but a lot of them are very good.
I think the visuals are fairly stylish but it suffers the shonen problem- granted, I think a lot of this is in the format of how long running shonens are produced- of starting out with a bold exciting concept and then sort of petering out in weird directions the longer it goes on. In Bleach's case, I really loved the design and concept of the early hollows, but from the Soul Society arc onward, this entire fascinating afterlife concept boils down to Fashion Sword Boys Fightin' It Out.
Most of my residual fondness for it has me eyeing @gallusrostromegalus's An Elephant Is Warm And Mushy, because it seems to be taking a lot of the later series and injecting that sense of weird monsters and afterlife ramifications back into it.
#Bleach#I actually really liked the intro episode of Don Kanonji#the idea of a 'hoax' TV medium actually having just enough of a foothold in this world to do damage#and then having to realize that and acknowledge his own relationship with it#I think this is why many of the later arcs disappointed; I was most interested in seeing how this world impacted and related to the mundane#similar powerful early episodes to me were the 'haunted cockatiel' and the episode with Orihime's brother#later arcs absolutely have their perks#I actually unironically like the 'king and his horse' speech#even though I think it plays to some limitations of the genre that everything has to be settled by hierarchical power levels and fighting#like I dunno maybe your ~EVIL SIDE~ isn't actually evil as much as someone who has not decided if they want to obey you or not#because why would they#do they respect you enough to actually want to help you with your goals#wouldn't anyone 'act up' in that situation trying to have their own priorities#ALSO ALSO it aggravates me that the closer to main character you get#the more boring your weapon powers get#some of the secondary characters and temporary antagonists and such#have REALLY COOL powers#but Ichigo is like ok. here's my power. it's basically a laser gun#pew pew#sorry Ichigo. you are trying to be main character while that one guy is over there with the executioner's weapon that weighs opponents down#Hanataro's the objectively best character though hands down y'all can fight me#(nobody actually fight me I have zero horses in this race)

one thing i'm really really fascinated by is the fact that everyone in the modern pokemon world seems to consider the deities a power source, nothing more. the games generally imply that knowledge of the legendaries has been lost to time and legend and only preserved by a select few who keep to the Ancient Ways but i don't really think that sounds likely. i think they might be common knowledge people just don't seem to. conceptualize them as greater than in the way that we generally think of them. "this is a divine force that underpins reality and has been worshipped since antiquity" is not a thing that seems to have any problem coexisting with "i'm going to put this thing in an engine and make it my tool." and it's very frequently the baddies doing this which maybe weakens the point a little but very rarely is the point of contention with the bad guys "hey you shouldn't do that to god" that's kind of like, never the part of their thing that people object to. it's always their motives, never their methods. when the Good Guy (local ten year old) catches god and makes it their new partner, nobody has a problem with it! and people joke about this but i'm saying it might imply a way deeper facet of society than people give it credit for.
and is this maybe trying to force the round peg of pokemon legendaries into the square hole of actual religion. very possibly! the games aside from pla certainly seem only very occasionally interested in treating these creatures as gods or godlike or worshipped in any way, and far more often just want to treat them as regular pokemon But Stronger. so it's maybe not reasonable to try and say these entities are deities. but the problem is they are! it's not like this isn't supported textually, it's just... not a part of canon that canon is actually interested in. dialga, palkia, the lake trio, kyogre, groudon—these things are gods. canon can mince words and call them legendaries and "worshipped as deities maybe sometimes" but when you get to the point where you're discussing something that represents a fundamental force governing reality and/or can end the world on a whim then idc what you call it. that's a god.
but the problem is that they are gods and also pokemon, they're both simultaneously. and people in the pokemon world seem to have worked this out, and have had the collective realization that the gods are truly not exempt from their own rules. they can be captured, they can be subjugated, they can be used. this also ties back in with the whole anarchism discussion obviously but it's just the fact that like. it goes way deeper than everyone being fine with the ten year old putting the lord of time in a ball. the entire world operates on the premise of "eat your gods."
does that like... contradict worship? can you be faithful to something knowing it's been used as a tool?
#the nemesis speaks#pla analysis#this is essentially one long rambling conversation with myself because i should really be going to bed#this all also hinges on the pokemon/trainer relationship conceptually which ive never had a chance#and/or willingness to really try and dig into that bc it's like.#an idea that feels intuitively easy to grasp but would be way more difficult to explain in words#it's not... it's really not like anything we have in the real world. it's Different.#but like. gestures vaguely. also relating to the distinction btwn Tool and Partner in that relationship#and how the former is generally how the Bad Guys lean wrt both their pokemon AND the gods#whereas the latter is how the protagonist and most non-evil people approach it.#anyway. going to bed now promise promise#but im not even talking about the key players in the games i'm talking about the regular guys! the everyday randos!#religion is so integral to our societies and it's clear that this was at least in the PAST a thing that the pokemon world people possessed#but... what about the modern day? are dialga and palkia still worshipped? reshiram and zekrom? xerneas and yveltal?#another of the many. many many reasons i want to Do Something with the hypothetical history sitting around in my notes#cause it also comes back around to this concept of people using gods as tools#OKAY. SLEEP. NOW.

i do think the most interesting interpretation of btvs lore is that non-vampire demons and mystical entities ALL have souls, unless they sold, destroyed or otherwise got rid of them (like the mayor)
#because first of all: it gives a potential explanation for why there is a VAMPIRE slayer who specializes in vamps and not just a ''slayer''#like why vampires are singled out in particular. if its because they are in some inherent way crueler more evil less human less worthy#than at least the average demon altho not the most terrible demons. and that kind of checks!! plenty of demons seem to be fairly chill#amoral maybe and have weird diets but not necessarily Big Bads. whereas all vampires by definition drain humans of blood for fun and profit#second: it explains a lot about anya in particular - i'm thinking of two things in s7 when she's a-venging again#1. when she sees spike's soul in his eyes and is Shocked. not the face of a woman who has never seen a soul in the eyes of a demon before#2. no one is like ''oh anya has a soul!!! you cant slay her'' or ''how can you be a demon again when you have a soul wahhh''#i bet everyone just knows she has a soul. she's had a soul the whole time. everyone knows that. everyone's been knowing that.#third: it explains Why Angel And Spike Are Such Frickin Big Deals lmaoooo#the whole ''vampire with a soul'' thing isnt understood by buffy in s1 - angel tells her about it and she's like okay sure. try harder#the concept of ''souls'' being ''something'' that one ''has'' is like so ... it ONLY MAKES SENSE if vampires are KNOWN to NOT HAVE SOULS!!!#like imagine youre a demon or w/e and some master vamp comes along and youre like ''oh shit'' and he's like nah man ... ive got my Soul#and youre like ''oh SHIT. i didnt know you could do that''#vaguely related point: i think something people in fandom have always struggled with (''struggled with'' is the nice way of phrasing)#is the idea that in buffy's mind vampire with soul = good / vampire without soul = bad ALWAYS NO EXCEPTIONS#and like. theres so much nuance there. nuance number one being that buffy anne summers is the Queen Of Black And White Thinking#and we gotta take what she says with a grain of salt. nuance number two being obviously bad people can do good things and vice versa#nuance number three is that she's kinda right? if you have no true moral compass AND no true empathy AND delight in causing pain You're Bad#anyway i think this take ^^^^ about demons having souls and the people of btvs being aware of this lends EVEN MORE NUANCE!!!#because people in fandom love being like ..... buffy would kill anything without a soul. and protect anything with a soul. which tbh#i think is a deliberate misunderstanding of the source material. buffy would kill anything that harms humans and will protect#anyone that is human. thats her fucking job lmaoooooooooooooo its her calling in life. get bent#i'm ending the tag spiral here <3#it's terribly simple

I will bore you all writing about Doctor Finlay, but bear with me.
One of the most unrealistic aspects of the Doctor Finlay-Nurse Meitland mess is the idea that they got engaged right before or as the war begun, and then for some reason had not seen each other ever since. Brenda has never left Tannachbrae during that time; which would have been an easier fix, had she joined up as an army nurse herself and been sent to units far from John's. I guess it couldn't be because the maximum drama of her new American fiancé living in town couldn't possibly be cut off. The western front didn't reopen till 44'.
The only possible mitigation, then, would be for Finlay to have been on the desert front, and lo and behold, upon rewatching 1x02, he tells a kid he was in the desert, then Sicily, then Italy, and finally Germany. But even on this generous scenario of the writers it doesn't make sense. If Finlay had had 6 years of ininterrupted service without leave home, chances are he'd have priority to have leave home as soon as the war ended, specially because I don't think personnel was being roaded or flown directly from Italy to Germany for obvious reasons of logistic convenience. So he would have been home on leave after may 45, and so the plot as presented is absurd.
But then it is all doubly absurd because the most reasonable and likely course of action would be for him to hear about it through letters. A dear John letter, or even someone from town condoling with him by assuming that the public status of Brenda's new engagement meant that Finlay had been informed too. What is the audience supposed to assume about their correspondence? Was he writing her tender, loving letters and receiving no response? Was he receiving tepid, general letters from her and being unconsciously or deliberately dense?
It makes no sense. Compels me though.
#doctor finlay#other highlights of the episode are evil mustache twirling snotty doctor for the rich#and rich guy congratulate themselves on what a pleasure it is to do medicine for the rich#we get our sex-related plot of the day as a poacher gets treated of hydrocele and keeps bringing game for Jane#we have dr. cameron retiring for the second time in two episodes#we have a kid whose dad went MIA 4 years ago and he keeps on shaming his mom#for trying to grieve and move on instead of holding onto hope#the series frames the kid as fanatical but then his dad comes back in the end so I guess shame on his mom#in another unsubtle plotline we are treated to the direct contrast between the pregnancy and birth care of rich vs poor#and in the remaining one the narrative toys with the idea that a girl might want to murder her just born brother#but she's just actually physically sick and the weird upsetting scenes are never explained and just red herrings#well I suppose you can construct independent meanings for each#like her destroying her new doll by dropping it a couple of floors is about her being angry at her dad#for not believing she's sick. but then she doesn't even know that she is really sick

FE OC Week Day 5 - Joy!
if I'm going to talk about what brings Summoner Leigh joy, obviously tea is the first thing that comes to mind (followed closely by objects that are colour coordinated red/black). to say I've gone overboard with the tea references while developing their story may be a bit of an understatement.
(art by cceesawstudios)
I think at this point it's safe to say their love language is sharing a hot pot of tea with those they care about, which I guess falls under quality time? since their arrival in Askr, not a day has gone by where they haven't had a cup of tea in their hand at some point. sorry Anna, we need to invest in more tea sets!
in all seriousness though, tea is so important to Leigh because it reminds them of some place they can't quite remember but those memories are filled with a comforting kind of love. now when they bond over tea with others, they can make their own happy memories that they'll never forget! this is especially true when it comes to festivals in Askr, like the Day of Devotion! their weapon takes the form of a ceramic flower vase in the shape of a teapot, overflowing with lilacs and roses.
(art by Byhengg)
Summoner Leigh was even more thrilled when they heard that the Order of Heroes would be welcoming heroes for a special tea service! they would feel right at home in this setting. hypothetically if they were summonable on this banner (with Gunter), it would go something like the following:
(you can read the complete set of unit lines I wrote for them here)
I could just go on for hours about how much Leigh loves tea!! to conclude this post though, I'll end with one little headcanon:
Gunter ends up proposing over teatime :') more specifically, he has a set of teacups crafted with one that says "will you marry me?" painted on the bottom. Leigh doesn't see it coming and just thinks it's one of their regular ole teatimes together. having had tea with Leigh countless times over the years, Gunter times it perfectly so that when they finish their tea and read the message, he's already down on one knee.
[day 1 introductions] [day 2 relationships] [day 3 backstory?] [day 4 tragedy]
#fe oc week#summoner leigh#summoner oc#i have a disease and it's called not being able to shut up when it comes to my summoner and tea#there are so so sooo many ideas not included here. like i literally have a million of them floating around my head#okay one extra little one for the tags that also relates to yesterday's prompt:#in the timeline where summoner leigh becomes nemhain. they're murdered on the way to tea c:#i love using an an idea for both soft and evil purposes
