I've been working on this with friends for a few months now, it's a 32 page zine that's like a fake cooking magazine with illustrations of the food from Tears of the Kingdom paired with real working recipes written by actual chefs!!!!!!

Pokemon Crossbreeds: Chatelaines

Chatelaines (pronounced shahn-teh-lehn) is the name for members of the Gardevoir line who's fathers are members of the Chandelure line. The breed name came from old symbolism of Gardevoir and Chandelure. Gardevoir was often used by noble woman in wealthy families or castles, and these places were known to have Chandelure wander in. Sometimes, these unwanted Chandelure would breed with the gardevoir. The breed ended up being associated with mistresses for their unwanted but alluring appearance.

Also; the eye colors can vary between red and yellow.

Ralts

Chantelaines ralts's hair becomes more silky and slightly longer, matching that of their father's. Their fur is also softer and thinner, which makes it drag on the floor more. Other than that, not many changes between behavior. In medieval times, they were said to be the spirits of dead children revived as ralts, however, there is absolutely no proof of this, and is most likely just a myth.

Kirlia

Chantelaines Kirlia are usually more reserved than purebred Kirlia, preferring to keep to themselves and avoid others, and they're also more watchful.

Gardevoir

What the breed was named after. While the Chandelure was unwanted, the Gardevoirs were put in high regard, with their psychic powers being seen to be greater. These pokemon are able to easily put people in trances with their psychic abilities and their more willingness to do so. There whole thing as mistresses ended up being solidified when an old Galarian mistress became queen, and her partner was a Chantelaines Gardevoir.

Gallade

Also can be called Paramour Gallade, but I'm going to refer to them as Chantelaines Gallade since thats the official name for them. There isn't much about them documented throughout history. But, there was an instance in the 1600s when a member in the Kalosian Royal Court had one, though there wasn't much info on him. But, Chantelaines Gallade have more curved swords, which can make them faster in combat. And while Gardevoir is more popular, Chantelaines Gallade are appreciated by some for their markings resembling suits.

I broke my "no merch of stuff I know I'll be into temporarily" rule and bought this sticker & acrylic charm of Halsin from @onemegawatt at Fanime. I felt that it was one of the few pieces of merch that captured his Essence--the other stuff all made him look too young.

I tried to find Inuyasha stuff but it was pretty difficult… but the InuKagMor print by @/starrydroplets was all I needed 😌 (I kinda regret not getting more, there were other cute Inuyasha prints too!!)

+ I’m always a h0e for @/onemegawatt’s art whenever I see their booth at cons 🥲 This time I bit the bullet and got the Persona 5 calendar notebook… no regrets cuz it’s so clever!!

And finally I got a Honkai Star Rail ticket sticker from @/haiyun and I don��t even play that game… the gold foil was just too pretty 😖

Pokemon Crossbreed: Star Cheeked

(Name from @onemegawatt !)

Star Cheeked is the name for members of the Pikachu line with a Clefairy/Clefable father. The breed became very popular in the late 90s and early 2000s with the Pikachu craze going around in that time.

Pichu

Other than appearance, not much changes between Star Cheeked Pichu. They do become more active at night however, and you might notice that they take a lot of naps during the day. However, they tend to have more electricity due to being fatter, which can be a danger to Pichu, who don't fully know how to control it yet.

Pikachu

Star Cheeked Pikachu keep the happy-go-lucky personality of both Clefairy and Pikachu. Similar to Pichu, not much changes with behavior. They tend to be more active at night and are more friendlier.

Raichu

Star Cheeked Raichu are chubbier and a bit taller/bigger than standard Raichu. They have a bit more fairy magic and can learn fairy type moves easier. They also gain tiny little fingers and toenails. Star Cheeked Raichu's cheeks slightly glow in the moon, and they're almost fully nocturnal. They're quite rare to find in the wild, but are more common in Alola.

Note: Because of how cute they are, this breed of Pikachu tend to be wanted by a lot more people, which can lead to harmful breeding of them. When adopting one, please make sure you are getting g them from a trusted breeder!

I was inspired by the art of Twitter user onemegawatt and similar artists~

This was a super fun exercise and might be a new form of content for me :3

I'm not sure if I did it right though, the style of crossbreed art seems to be making pokemon A look like pokemon B without sacrificing the ability to recognize it as pokemon A. Once I get it down I might change my fusion art to be more of a new pokemon entirely derived from pokemon A and B!

Also new shading and lighting style practice :3
