You were just the innocent Little Red Riding Hood, kept safe from the horrors of Pentagram City. When you meet the Big Bad Wolf Vox, your life is turned upside down. The only issue is do you even realize he's ruining you? Surely, he isn't the bad guy in this story, after all, Vox was your best friend, your only friend, the only person who just wanted the best for you, right...?

Hhhh tumblr decided to be funny and delete my draft of this </3 Anyways, this was my first request! I wrote this as a general conception of the topic rather than specific scenes since I had so many ideas of how it would go. I wrote like three drafts until I finally settled on this lol. I really tried to push how he gradually manipulative Vox is towards the innocent Reader. Lmk if there are any typos!! Remember to stay hydrated and slay the day away

Vox was the big bad wolf of Pentagram City. He was a wolf, both in character and in capitalism, managing to brand himself to monopolize anything material he could get his hands on. He managed to garner a fearsome reputation for being a greedy and hungry beast, yet everyone still relied on him for technology and whatnot. 

You were the innocent Little Red Riding Hood. You were always sheltered, living on the outskirts of Pentagram City with your mother and father, ensuring you had everything you’d need in the small cottage. No complicated technologies that could risk unsavory individuals from stealing your privacy were allowed in the house. There were no muggings or burglars in the desolate corner of land in the meager outlands. As you got older you craved to explore the concrete jungles. Your parents compromised by letting you go on trips alone to the other side of the pentagram to the humble apartment your grandmother lives in. You always went with your red cloak and a basket of goods. You’d spend the night at your grandmother’s to catch up before returning home in the morning; A neat weekly routine.

Although your parents told you tales of monsters in the world, you never really paid attention. After all, if your home was so pleasant then how could the world be so awful? Surely you wouldn’t be able to have such a happy life if it were as bad as they made it out to be!

You met him on one of your journeys across the city. He was charming, so much so that you completely ignored the cybernetic wolf ears on his head and how they resembled the devil horns your mother warned you against. He was so polite that you were surely you were mistaken each time you saw a hungry glint in his eyes. During your interactions his claws were all over you, constantly resting on your shoulder or guiding you by the small of your back. You never really minded it, his hands occasionally heavy against your flesh but never drawing blood. He was always kind enough to escort you to the edge of his domain ensuring you were safe in his lands, how sweet of him to protect your innocence.

You grew to adore your outings solely so you could see your new friend! He always managed to find you when you were on your path, and you never questioned it. It must be fate and totally not him spying on you whenever you step within the range of any VoxTek item! Eventually, though, he grew greedy. It was in his nature, to want to consume everything, a gluttonous beast. Your innocence was amusing for a while and he was content with the brief interactions, but he found himself wanting to corrupt you. After all such a naive person was rare. 

It started as small things. He would encourage you to spend a little longer on your outings. He would gift you small items, slowly building up into him gifting you a VoxTek phone. Vox would whisper temptations in your ear, guiding you into cafes as you both share some sugary drinks and laugh together. The city was nothing like your organic home life, everything was artificial but it was all so entertaining! He would escalate his plans though. Eventually, he had you lying straight to your family’s face so you could sneak a little more time with him. You lied to your grandmother, saying your visits would have to become biweekly due to some new plans at the house. In truth you’d spend your nights with Vox, learning more about the city. He would take you to clubs, to stores, and even to the V Tower! It put stars in your eyes as you tasted the sweet forbidden fruit of the citylife.

Over time you realized Vox was a lot more popular than you thought. Your friendly wolf was a busy man yet he always made time for you. How kind of him, really shows how much he cared about you! 

When you were home, you’d sneakily text Vox throughout the week, hiding the phone constantly so your parents wouldn’t be clued into your rebellious behavior. You slowly became more modernized, learning more about the outside life your parents hid from you. Vox would constantly point out their “controlling” behavior, persuading you that they were being cruel, trying to keep you caged like some bird, they used the excuse of “safety” so they could keep you trapped. This began to lead to more conflict at home. Of course, you made sure it wasn’t anything too extreme, after all, you couldn’t bear to be too aggressive. You couldn’t risk them taking Vox away from you. Vox was your best friend, your only friend, the only person who just wanted the best for you. 

Occasionally Vox would even appear outside your house in the late hours of the night, sneakily giving you charming gifts of the latest fashionable accessory or tech toy as he chatted with you. Soon you amassed a collection of contraband that you hid under your bed. 

Vox was the only person you could rely on. The only one who cared about you. Even your family was against you. Your family, the ones who raised you, didn’t love you. Only Vox was the honest person you knew. Perhaps he was an angel?

That’s why when one day shit hit the fan, you turned to Vox. Your father needed some old box that was kept under your bed but he ended up finding an odd black and cyan box. Upon further examination, he was horrified. Modern tech, being snuck into his house? His child, the very kid he thought he raised to be honest and good, was involved in bad things. He and your mother were furious. It got messy, leading to a big screaming match as they threw away all of your beloved gifts from Vox. You ran out of the house, going to the comforting neon lights of the city. You called Vox, sobbing, begging him to take you away. He was right, your parents were awful cruel people. Vox was all too pleased when you crawled to him. 

He settled you nice and neat into his penthouse in the V Tower. You were officially isolated from everyone but him. He made sure you got controlled tidbits of information. Slowly, he introduced you to Valentino and Velvette. He began to show you more extreme things, normalizing them. He had the lowest performers shot? Well, maybe they should’ve worked harder! People were being exploited in Valentino’s films? They signed the contract, they consented to it all! Velvette verbally abused her workers? She was just encouraging them to be better! Your innocent mind became twisted into Vox’s little pet. He was your everything. The outside was scary after all! You’d be in danger if you wandered without him. Just rely on him.

Ignore the way he loomed over you like you were prey. Ignore the way you weren’t allowed to see your family anymore. He was the only one that mattered. Look at him. Worship him. He was your everything. You were now his caged bird, happily chirping along to whatever song he wanted. The big bad wolf consumed Little Red Riding Hood; The only thing left was your newly corrupted self.

I’m asexual and don’t really enjoy having to sit through sex scenes, even if it’s from something I ended up to really like. :/ It’d be amazing if there were more sfw yanderes but I guess that’s not really a popular demographic hhhh

Yeah, of course! I think honestly I personally prefer ones that don't have smut as well unless it's in very specific circumstances (but to each their own). It's not its own community like r18 yandere vns are, but it's possible that it might grow into its own in the future. Most otome isekais tend to be more focused on romance though and don't have smut (unless explicitly stated), so looking into that would be probably good if you're not looking for smut.

Webcomics/Manga

God is Telling Me to Fall in Love - this one is like deep in my drafts and Cherry really likes it- it's about a girl who is able to see the affection points of guys and is able to form relationships with them, but when they get to the end, she's forced to go back in time and has to chase another person. It's pretty good and I have an ask on it. Future Recommendation

Caught by the Villain - an isekai about a girl who is trying to avoid her fate of death(and her brothers) by pretending to be him and enlisting into the army.

Never-Ending Darling- very good thriller sci-fi series about a girl who is cloned constantly by her fiance. Very good push and pull on both sides and you're always on the edge of your seat.

Kimi no Koe - Cherry likes this one too, but the premise is very good, about a guy who can read people's thoughts and a girl whom he can't read and is mute. Very fluffy. The yandere appears near the tail end of it though so he's not in it a lot.

The S Class that I Raised - this mostly depends on if you believe in platonic yanderes or not, but the series as a whole is very good about a guy who rewinds time to save his brother (who is an S class) and gains powers to tame beasts. The yandere is mostly comedic though.

Fluctuations of the Hit Man S -extremely cute and a bit comedic, about a hitman that falls in love with a yakuza daughter and becomes her bodyguard. The artwork is a bit nonstandard for a manga, but it really is a fun read.

To Your Eternity - extremely good and pretty long, the yandere appears somewhere in the middle, about and immortal and his battle with beings that are trying to take over the world. Extremely heart wrenching and something you should read for the plot, not just the yandere himself.

He Was My Brother - very good psychological one about a girl who wants to get with her deceased brother's lover, despite how it sounds, it's pretty horror based and honestly makes you wonder what exactly is going on.

Ripe When the Flowers Bloom - this one is a shonen ai, but I like the pacing and idea on it. It's about a guy who works at a flower shop and a being that can only eat flowers. I think they do sleep together but it's not shown (since it's a shonen ai)

Kiss the Abyss - I think I really just like killing games, but this shonen ai is also really good. Basically about a game developer who gets trapped into his own mobile game that was a killing game. Very fun.

I have a lot more on my masterlist, though you'd have to sort it out yourself. Usually I give warning if it has smut/r18 content in it.

Games

Cemetery Mary - very good mysteresque visual novel about a girl named Mary who loves Cemeteries (shocking) and is trying to live in a new place while being worried about her kidnapped parents. I'm still going through this one and there are some other games in the same universe. Future Recommendation.

Dead Wishes - r18 but more on the themes and gore side, there is at least one male yandere in there and his route is a doozy. Very good though, and the characters are all pretty interesting in their own right, though it can get pretty messed up sometimes.

Love, Sam - this one is actually a bit old and not a visual novel, but it is very cool and very fun. The way the story unravels is really interesting and it makes you question on what's actually going on. Future Recommendation.

Froot Basket Valentine/Froot Basket Dark Chocolate - Dark Chocolate is a prequel to Valentine, but it's about the main character (Jordan) who loses their memories and has to try to figure out who they were trying to give chocolates too. Dark Chocolate is from the yandere's point of view.

Sweetest Valentine - good game with a twist, Cherry and I really liked it. About a girl who is going to confess to one of two guys and there's actually like a huge hidden thing under all of that. It was a fun game and I hope the creator makes more yandere games.

Mushroom Oasis - this one is actually really cute, about the player going to find their cat in the forest and instead stumbling upon someone who seems to have hypnotic powers. Future Recommendation.

The Science of Staying Awake - this one is a bit trippy, about not sleeping and seeing a strange creature in your room, with them extremely desperate to touch you, but it ends up causing your sanity to go down instead. The concept of it is super cool.

Colorful Mirai: Spooky Edition - spinoff of the Colorful Mirai series about Lauren going to a haunted house and being greeted by a bunch of guys. They don't do a whole ton because it's a oneshot spinoff, but it's still well made and fun to play.

If you look under my Video Game Recommendation under Indie Visual Novels, all of those don't have smut (from my recollection) as well as any of the mobile games. I think most of the sfw yandere vns don't actually advertise themselves as yandere vns so they end up being harder to find as a result.

I don't know that much anime offhand with a male yandere- maybe like Akudama Drive, Tokyo Mewmew, Kill of Love, Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion? I probably should watch more anime, but it's a lot of things I have to go through. Maybe one day.

There is quite a lot of sfw male yandere stuff, but you do have to dig for them- that's probably just true for any male yandere stuff though. Hopefully, that will help you find some good ones. I'll also do some reblogs today that have sfw yanderes that you can look through.

6. favorite thing to draw?

When drawing ganqing: hair (always fluffing it up and adding strange triangular streaks to keqing's hair that make zero sense lol), faces, and ganyu's horns. But honestly arms and hands too, because the gestures can express a lot imo. For all the lamenting over anatomy and how strange and hard it is, i think i've improved enough over time to generally just enjoy drawing the whole body of a character.

When drawing creatures: heavily depends on what kinda creature it is, artstyle etc. but generally fur. Like even if i draw dragons, i wanna add some fur. Slugcats are an exception lol, i've drawn them with fur before but i'm a firm believer of smooth, slimy slugcats. Other than that, ears, horns and claws are fun.

GANYU WITH A QILIN TAIL!!!! I'm enjoying all the new art of baby ganyu, but i'm rlly excited abt my "adult ganyu showing keqing her fluffy tail" wip lol. I can tell you i've been lowkey agonizing over having to draw clothes tho 😭😭 But i got over it and it's going okay, so i should be done with it maybe even today. Also what's funny is that ganyu's head in this drawing is a months old doodle i just repurposed for this drawing. I'm glad i got to actually use it for something lol

24. whats a compliment about your art that has always stuck with you?

One time someone said they "love the togetherness of this image" abt my drawing, and that was really nice, like yes!!! I succeeded at putting emotions into this image!!! Also you said "this is like straight out of a scene in my mind tbh" abt the exact same drawing, which i liked a lot too!!! Something abt humans connecting with each other thru art perhaps?

But I also really enjoy whenever people say they like the shapes i draw, or that my art and characters are " so shaped", etc. And character expressions!!

29. do you use a lot of references while drawing?

Yes, usually. Sometimes for simpler doodles i won't have any, or maybe only a few, but a lot of the time my canvas is cluttered with references lol. In-game screenshots, official art, irl photos, 3d model pose screenshots, my own art too. For my latest wip i took photos of my own arms hhhh. Sometimes it also just serves as setting the vibe tho, or general inspo, not necessarily anatomy or some specific thing. Depends on the drawing. (old examples below)

What's your opinions about Haru?

i can't wait to see more of him! haru is a super interesting character to me because you get to know a relative ton about him compared to the, what. three? moments? of actual screentime he gets (the poster, the menu, and the actual train scene iirc)?

of course, spoilers ahead, but just from his belongings and other characters' descriptions alone, you can paint a pretty good picture of him. like, just based on his belongings and others' descriptions of him, you can get that:

He is incredibly clever and dexterous, with a notable background in chemistry - the flavor text on his worktable makes it clear that not just anyone can craft the bombs he does; he is also the technical mind behind the beauty products Arvio sells (which have an excellent formula if Mi-an is anything to go by, so good for him!).

He is a decent, if morally ambiguous, person with few personal enemies - when Arvio talks about him, it's with a genuine sense of fondness and hope that he'll come back one day; he was a good enough business partner that Arvio is still holding on to his cut. his lower bounty shows that he isn't nearly as aggressive or troublesome as Logan is - it doesn't even have the "dead or alive" caveat. a lot of the characters will talk about how dastardly those bandits are, but Haru mostly just tends to get lumped in with Logan when it comes to character. of course, as the driving force behind Logan's firepower, he's got a destructive touch when he wants to and he Shows it (and you Have to have some measure of moral ambiguity to do half the nonsense he pulls!) but overall, my guy seems to be very polite and unassuming on the whole.

He is loyal (to a fault?) - like i say, it seems like no one has personal beef with Haru. all the specific ire lands on Logan, and Logan's impulsiveness, and Logan's aggression and treason and unreasonable behavior; it doesn't seem like Haru had to cut and run with him after the temple bombing at all. certainly he'd be more welcome than his buddy if he were to come back; it doesn't even seem like there was much in it for him to begin with. he has a good thing going for him and everything - unique skillset, successful product line. and yet, he's down to throw everything away just to help Logan chase his white whale? up to and including attacking his town and fleeing into the desert? Haru's ride-or-die on another level, man.

he's just incredibly fascinating to me. i look at him and i have so many questions. why was he rooming with logan in the first place. was he a childhood friend or what. he must have been pretty fond of howlett too. where did he learn such a complex branch of science. is he from or did he study at vega 5. everyone always goes Hhhh Why Isn't [X Character] Romanceable and while mostly i find it just charming and a little funny. you know what. maybe it's time i start asking this abt haru, Contractually. he seems like a stand-up guy. do i think he would be a great LI? yeah actually. do i think anyone deserves him? no

Something I've always adored about your writing style is the constant tone of irony in the narration. It's fascinating how difficult it is to understand whether Ran is at all conscious of that irony or if that's just the omniscient author's addition to his inner monologue. It's like there are a lot of things he understands, he's always understood, but didn't want to accept, so they were reflected in the author's ironic narration, which almost served as his subconsciousness. But then he loses everything and snaps, and suddenly his thoughts become clearer. It's like the subconscious is creeping closer to conscious. The irony in his inner monologue goes from being almost certainly the author's to being his, even if he's still trying to ignore it. When he goes into the warehouse in the last scene, thinking about how it's "clearly just the brightest idea he's ever had", I feel like he's the one that's making fun of himself, not the author. And that is so so so so cool and so subtle. Idk if it's even there. Idk if I'm just spitting obnoxious bullshit, but this feels important to me, okay? I love reading into shit.

Thanks for the strawberry Diluc video! finally, a baby expression to match his baby face. i always find it funny how they make his coattails so bouncy lol. Mm, I think about about the visions often as well. not knowing all the world building makes an immersive in-game experience, but it’s a bit inconvienent for writing fanfic and characters when you don’t know all the info. So how the visions correlate to their users, what traits enable a vision is something I think about a lot. Scenes where the traveler talks to venti Or Zhongli are such a tease…. hell yeah I want a vision venti! I’ll take five! I wanna fuck around and find out! (Excuse my French). oh, so you have a contract to not talk about history old man? What about visions huh? *insert zhonglis 5 hour monologue*. but I just have to be patient.

as for other things on my mind… Kaeya, always. Kaeya this Kaeya that. more specifically- I occasionally see hcs around flustered Kaeya. I’m thinking a bit more on how that would work. maybe it builds up. “Wow Kaeya, I can’t believe you got me such beautiful flowers…. Tell me, do you know the meanings of each one?” strike 1. “Thank you for holding my hand Kaeya. I know it’s small, but it’s comforting.” Strike 2. ”How is it you look this beautiful from every angle?” Strike 3. By the time you have to head off he’s practically suffocating. Forcefully keeping the pot lid over the rebellious steam. You leave the library after your date, and him thinking no one saw- “Ahhhh! So cute…. How could anyone be so cute?” He squeals and sighs, as he’s keeled over with his hands to cover the warmth blooming all over his face. “Oh my, my~ someone has a serious crush on the cutie.” Lisa notes to herself, as she watches one of the only times shes seen Kaeya lose his composure.

or maybe he wouldn’t even have that much control over it- after all, if he even could get flustered, it’d probably be so rare that he wouldn’t even know how to deal with it.… but, ive already sent you one unsolicited Drabble, I have to see if your okay with receiveing asks like this first :)

about the visions: you reminded me that there's this really interesting and informational thread on how each archon decides who gets what visions! i rb'ed it a while ago but i'm super glad that i found it :P with what we know about baal so far, her reasons are pretty interesting!! she herself is living by her own will and following her own path despite the pleads of her citizens falling upon deaf ears: she continues forwards. the tsaritsa's and cryo visions in general just pain me to no end :') she gives cryo visions to people who need the strength to overcome their struggles and pains, hnngh it hurts so badly to think about all the amazing cryo characters who deserve so much love :(

also that kaeya drabble HHHH OH MY GOD AAAAAA i love the concept of flustered kaeya (it kinda makes sense to me in a way? i've always thought diluc was more of the outgoing one as a kid and kaeya was a shyer follower so that shyness still lives on in him even as an adult :P) god he deserves to be told how wonderful he is all of the time >:) also also that drabble reminded me that @ripyuuri on tumblr draws art for the concept of flustered kaeya!! their style is so cute you should definitely go give them a follow!! :D (hii!! i hope you don't mind me tagging you here hehe :>)

So many things happened in this chapter- here are some (fairly) quick points:

We saw a lot of collaborations between the S Class, but I just love that the two robots are working together! Really well!!

Hecticcc. I also hope this will mean a future ally in Drive Knight, I was wary of him at first (the experiments were kind of dodgy) but despite his absence before, he's Really powerful and so freaken cool (yeah maybe I just want Genos to have a friend of his own😔he deserves it).

But nearly the whole S Class (of those present... *sighs in metal bat withdrawal*) really showed their worth in this point of the fight - I do feel like it was a bit obvious that the creators wanted to show everyone off and while getting one hero after the other unleashing their own attack on the villian got me hyped because I enjoy seeing their power, it felt like a linear montage or slideshow. That's my only critique, though. I always feel that in fights where it's one vs a whole group, more than two people striking at once would be a lot better for the group's odds and just make more sense (okay, Garou is an exception✋🏼) but I understand what the aim was, and it was still enjoyable.

Was that a design thing, or did Superalloy Increase In Size??? He just-

A chunk of the S Class finally took a their bite out of the mega air fight, but that's a lot to cover so I'm just going to say that they looked rad and I'm glad they're working for their pay (bomb and fubuki are doing charity work I hope they get recognised)

Tatsumaki..... continues to mishandle the earth.. but for a good cause (Her "jaane" :) before she presumably unleashes that larger than life death stick was really epic I do enjoy her a lot)

(I just realised that it's tornado-shaped and ajsjsjhdhdfhdh we LOVE that. Kill your enemies with your own designer merch you go)

And.... Whatever the hell that thing was at the end. Whatever The Hell it was because the sheer size of it is hurting my brain. This was Not the webcomic spoilers that I heard,,, WHO IS THAT?? A new character?? (I don't think it's garou but listen if it's garou I'm passing away) ... Okay but if it's not a new character... would it be Psykos's,, actual true form? I feel stupid saying that but I'm putting it into the universe anyway. But regardless, the implications of such a massive, ominous entity existing at this point means that either the heroes will have to pull some more supermoves out of thin air; Garou would make his final monster debut and finish it off- if Saitama doesn't immediately flick it away in the first panel of the next chapter- Or Tatsumaki is actually aiming for it with her tornado spear? Wow, this whole point is my winding mental journey to a fairly obvious assumption hhhh

Okay new point. If Tatsumaki is actually preparing to impale this supernova of a humanoid, I adore that she sensed it way down there and assessed enough about it to realise that she needs to destroy it, she's so powerful. This also makes more sense, because I thought that that big weapon was bit of overkill for the human-sized Psykos - and it's such a twist (okay, a twist for non-webcomic readers, at least) because you've been focusing on Psykos this whole time as the evil that needs to be defeated, but all the while the real, even greater evil was buried out of sight (in some strange starry dimension but that's just what I think), sort of like the spongebob "that wasn't the monster..." scene

That's most of my thoughts for this chapter! I'm excited to see the translation.

first: WAHHHHHHHHH 😭😭😭 I got so emotional!!! so emotional!!!! so much that I can’t even do this first second pattern bc I have SO MANY thoughts!!!!!!! I’m writing this in my notes instead of straight into the askbox so u know it’s serious business™

ok so debut night!!! I was like ahah yeah it’s a tragedy whatever it’ll be fun to start out with and then the voice acting was SO good that it knocked me out of the park and I almost cried haha. it’s crazy how good the voice acting in a3 is like I love how the dialogue and voice acting works well together bc like it’s limited but so effective!! u can so very clearly see and understand the style they’re going for. especially like tsumugi’s death scene... the Talent jumped out it really did... uh and ok so. I think I may be a littleeee confused abt the play bc I had always interpreted tasukus last lines as raphael to be like abt his being secretly in love with michael. but now that I’m actually reading the line that’s like oh don’t fall for a human it only ends in misery I know that all too well or whatever... ig the implication is that raphael was in love with another human / the same lady michael was in love with in the play. side note I had to go back and edit the proper names in instead of tasuku and tsumugi lol... but speaking of!! speaking of the voice acting and the play itself I 1) love how blatantly obvious it is when tsumugi goes for that grander, tasuku like style of delivery!! like u could just so easily feel the difference it was wild... and 2) tsuzuru is once again spot on with his writing, lol... I felt that like raphaels inability to save or help michael really parallels how tasuku feels abt tsumugi so well, and it’s wonderful that they r able to resolve things and tasuku can properly compliment him on his acting where the angels fail to do so. it’s very good. and I think the play rly highlights (for me at least) that like. to tasuku, it was tsumugi who was sort of an unreachable existence. like were he to idolize and respect someone’s acting, it would be tsumugi. and I think that like caring carries over into their roles really well, because I think in michael’s love for a human tasuku sees like... tsumugi’s style of acting. the heart that he’d lost while within the god troupe. mb I’m losing my mind a little but ah. the play rly works with their relationship so well!! im very excited to see the other winter ppl get main roles tho—same for all the troupes!!! now this ask is too long so I’ll have to do another part lol

going to start off this second part of the ask abt hisoka bc oh my GOD. hisoka. like I was just thinking “hm where r the winter troupe cgs anyways” and then BAM. hisoka CRYING???? especially since he doesn’t seem that emotional it was a really hard hit!!! and who tf is august.... ok well actually theory time!! skipping ahead to the end theres that note that like mentions December and April and. not to expose my friend but very many years ago (a couple years before a3 was launched, at the very least) she wrote this story where there were like 12 orphan assassins and they were all named after months. I remember the main dude was named dec lol. coupled with my “hisoka is capable of murder” bit? listen.... I’m not saying anything but I’m also not not saying anything if u feel me. also I feel like assassin / thief with mysterious background is a common trope!! that was silver from the pokémon adventures manga too... why is this my reference point lmao. anyways I’m unclear if assassins would make it into a3 but like.... if the yakuza and supernatural stuff makes it in...

okay moving away from conspiracy theories and into emotions!!! the quotes from like EVERY mankai actor before the final production made me SO emo... and yay!!! they won!!!! (though admittedly I almost had a heart attack when no one clapped) but they won!!!! that ending cg!!!! and I adore how sakyo immediately goes after god troupe man (I know his name is reni I just don’t feel like calling him that) for the money lol it’s just so sakyo-like. also I love the lil mixed troupe interactions!! I found the game night ch so fun.... ahh, now I wanna reread that ch since it was so good lol

all in all I was super satisfied ahh!! I am SO excited to start up spring troupe again (HELLO character development!!! and chikage) and I’m even MORE excited to get thru all the act 1 events!!!! as a final note, is there any way to reread or replay the flair conversations? I didn’t want any spoilers for the plays while I was doing the practices for them so I kinda sped thru the first time ahah...

HELLO FRIEND IM SO HAPPY TO GET SUCH A LENGHTY ASK ABOUT WINTER IM LKDJFLKDJFLKFD  Winter makes me feel shrimps emotions (i know the whole “shrimps can see more colors than humans can’t comprehend” thing has been disproved but i’m not letting go of that expression, i REALLY feel emotions humans can’t comprehend anymore and i’m going to make it everyone else’s problem)

1) First about the voice acting, rIGHT this is just so fascinating to me!!! I remember after act 2 i came back to reread the main act 1 chapter and i was so thrown out by how GOOD the voice acting was, especially for the first few troupes having to convince you they’re not comfortable or good at acting yet. Winter whole thing is that they’re more subtle and mature and you really feel that with their voice acting, Tsumugi’s voice especially knock it off the park anytime he’s on screen. 

2) Second: what does it say about me that i’ve never, ever considered your reading a possibility because i was so set on “oh Raphael you’re in love with Michael sooooo bad you see it as a tragedy already because you can see him throw his life away” i didn’t even consider “maybe Raphael went through that too”. Though i guess if we’re going with that reading i can totally see “The Woman” they let themselves consumed by easily be a representation of acting or even more the God Troupe, with Raphael/Tasuku knowing to step away before it consumes him completely while Michael/Tsumugi, by his love and passion, pushed himself until he broke, which fits and it hurtsssss god Winter plays hits so hard.

3) Third: oh god yeah when Tsumugi goes for Tasuku’s acting it’s just. It makes me SO uncomfortable, i’ve experienced this scene like three times by now and the third time i was just “can i skip it i can’t go through this again i can’t Tsumugi i love you i can’t do this”. It doesn’t match the play at all and it just throws everyone off balance, and Tsumu you could have told theM YOU WANTED TO DO THAT.... god

4) Fourth: I LOVE YOUR READING SO MUCH I LOVE IT I LOVE IT YES YOU’RE RIGHT!!! Just as we follow Tsumugi let his passion consumes him until he breaks, Tasuku’s character arc really jumps out in Raphael, like, everything you say!!!  The way Tasuku/Raphael knew how the feelings Tsumugi/Michael felt would hurt him on the long run but he didn’t know what to do about it until it was too late, the regrets and the way Raphael voices his frustrations.... Tasuku struggles to be honest without acting (Tasuku pls i love you) but having such a role really help him expressing all he feels about Tsumugi and i’m HHHH this is so good so so good!!! but yeah i also love that Tasuku finally manages to actually compliment Tsumugi naturally, that he understands he can’t let him destroys himself again and it’s just gnhhhhh Tasuku is so kind and considerate and i care about him so much....!!!

5) Fifth: “i’m losing my mind a little” winter mood, winter mood winter mood- (though every troupe’s mood tbh but Winter is gnhhhhh kdhd hdhjf??? you feel me) (i am BIASED i can’t help it TwT) but yeaH i’m looking forward to see how you react to the others plays because the roller coaster juST BEGUN!!!

Onto part 2... Winter Troupe Chapter Feels... 2!

6) Sixth: DLFJDFKLDF HISOKAAAAAAAAAA I LOVE HIM SO MUCHHHHH. Hisoka crying fucked me up so bad!! so so bad!! Like on my first read i didn’t know what to think of him as he starts out very apathic to his troupe and then the more it goes on the more you can feel he starts to open up and i’m soft for this sort of slow burn, but then this whole scene happened and it HIT ME IN THE FACE, he was crying, i was crying, we were all crying, the Unopening Door opened a flood of emotions i can’t cope with. He sounds SO VULNERABLE during that scene and i know all of the Winter Troupe united on “taking care of him” but that’s really the moment i went “i care you and i will keep taking care of you” and look at me now. Thanks funky little scene for ruining my life. I’m glad you liked it i’m aldhjflkjdfkd Hisokaaaaa.....

7) Seventh: I am not commenting on the theory but 👀 that’s so highly specific your friend has a galaxy brain i love it. and i love the idea of “well we have yakuza and supernatural entity what’s an assassin adding himself to it” dLKFJDLKF i know everyone in Mankai calls Izumi out everytime someone joins but that’d be peak. I’m not going further about what December and August and April are all about but i love this plotline sO much, the few mentions of August when Hisoka regained his memories for a minute still haunts me, the guilt he seems to feel and this pain i’m just... godddd such a good set up. I love this plotline.

8) Eigth: EMOTIONS!!  Oh GOD YEAH THE ENDING WITH ALL THE OTHER ACTORS... I cried so hard it’s just. It really shows you it’s not just the culmination of the Winter chapter but of all the act 1 main plot and it really makes you feel how much of a journey you’ve been onto!! A3 is so good at showing you the growth of its characters that especially by the end of Winter you really saw how all of them grew in their respective chapters and how cozy they felt in their new home in the remaining chapters, and the fact this chap has those defining character arc’s lines really drive home “oh my god that was a journey” i love them sO MUCH.... 

9) Ninth: wE WOOOON!!! They’re all so good i just. i’m gonna cry just thinking about it dlfdjlfk i know like, the game has so many content so you know it can’t end at the end of Winter but the suspense really was there. BUT YEAH LMAO I LOVE SAKYO DOING THAT IMMEDIATLY, man sure has the eyes on the prize and we love him for that.  AND THE GAME NIGHT SCENE they are all sO CUTE and sWEET and they’re a family now and i’m hHHHHH i love a3 a normal healthy amount that isn’t just making me cry thinking about how all of them grew so close even through mixed troupes.

10) Tenth: I am SO happy you were satisfied with the plot so far!! I’m genuinely so happy that you decided to take that journey with us and that you shared all of this with me, and i’m so so happy you liked it!! There is still so much content and all of it is so worth it! 

11) Eleventh: Yes!! The flair conversations are all readable on the Mini-Chat tab! So they’re easily accessible and they’re sorted in a way that’s easy to read so you can feel comfortable skipping the flairs if you want until you have seen the stories the flairs are all about. They’re all kinda set during the rehearsals (except for some crosstroupe conversation that wouldn’t make sense if they were like how the Summer Troupe talks with the Spring Troupe in their Flairs DKLFJDF but it’s okay what is a timeline anyway) so some of them are set pre-development and it’s wild to get back to them. I love rereading Flairs i get emotional everytime.

how i feel about this character

it was definitely ... a Journey with jiang cheng, as you well know. it’s partly bc of how he’s initially set up in the plot at the beginning vs then going back in the past and coming to understand his character more. i really started appreciating and loving him more in my 2nd rewatch. so while i’m still signing this man up for necessary therapy, i really appreciate the depth his character has and how despite his issues, he’s a good person who just can’t always show it super well hhhh

huaisang .. idk when sangcheng grew on me this much but i actually really like them! they’d be a very cute couple

xichen .. im not HUGE on this ship. it’s a solid good one, but i’m not very personally attached to it

my non-romantic otp for this character

wei wuxian ... something about their bond specifically (in cql esp) REALLY gets my heart. they really deserved better, even though things didn’t end off terribly

yanli .. bc the yunmeng trio is actually something that can be so personal

my unpopular opinion about this character

no idea if it’s unpopular but i honestly think cql’s jiang cheng is the best. (which is funny bc i used to really have a bone to pick with him in my first watch .. i still do but it’s different. more out of love than before) in my opinion (thus far anyways, since im still reading the novel) it’s the most nuanced depiction of his character. still lov him in the donghua and what i’ve read of the novel so far but cql jiang cheng is just .. chefs kiss. i just really love how you can tell despite his anger, he really really cares about his loved ones

one thing i wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon

a better reconciliation with wwx at the end :( it was really melancholic and im glad they got to Kinda talk things out but i wish it was different, even if him and wwx couldn’t be the twin heroes of yunmeng in the way that they originally envisioned

we talked about this, but it’d have been very amusing to me to see him on those blind-dates mxtx mentioned bc i wanna see why this man is flopping in his love life so bad

also would’ve loved to see jiang cheng (and lwj tbh) post-wwx death. in mdzs and/or cql, it just would’ve been heartwrenching but kinda touching to see him coming to terms with his part in that and also what led up to him keeping chenqing

im also curious as to whether or not he actually tortured people who practiced demonic cultivation or not. bc i remember seeing an interesting post on here once about how maybe he didn’t and it was kinda his way of trying to find out if wwx was still alive </3

absolutely loved huaisang from the jump! he’s an absolute sweetheart and such a good, loyal friend. i care him 🥺 i’d have loved him a lot just as he was but then seeing who he became post-nmj’s death .. golly! i think it just added a lot to the character that i really enjoy. his character development is an underrated one i think about a lot

wwx ... i don’t actively ship those two but i think if lwj wasn’t in the picture, i could’ve absolutely seen these two together maybe?

nie mingjue ... i really enjoy their bond! (still gotta see the fatal journey which i know’ll probably solidify this for me even more) though nmj’s a lot stricter with him in mdzs, they really do have such a nice dynamic. nmj cares about him so much T_T and despite him being intimidated, i know nhs respects him a lot too

wwx .... YEP! y’all get it, im sure & i don’t need to explain. but i truly truly love those two a lot and the slight growth we see in their dynamic as well in the present. i.e. that fan scene where wwx genuinely compliments his interests rather than poking fun at it like he did in the past :’)

jiang cheng .. bc friendship <3 u get it and im too lazy to write more

meng yao ... now ... don’t persecute me. and this is very cql-centric but they were like brothers :( and even in mdzs, you can tell meng yao did care about him in his own way before shit went sideways. ofc #nhswasright at the end though but it’s just sad to think about what a better dynamic it could’ve been if things had been different

my unpopular opinion about this character

erm .. i don’t really have one! i just would like everyone to remember that despite him being silly and a bit stupid (complimentary) sometimes, he’s also super smart and perceptive. even if it isn’t always Book Smart, he’s still a very capable character. like ............. in terms of interpersonal perceptibility (idk if that makes sense, if not just roll with it), i think he’s quite comparable to wwx

one thing i wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon

would’ve been obsessed to see more of his #Plotting both during the plot of the present as well as in the years of wwx’s death. like i would’ve loved to see him really setting the gears into motion as well as figuring out jgy’s role in everything. like i think i just would’ve really loved to see WAY more from his pov. i get why we didn’t in cql/mdzs but god am i obsessed with seeing smart characters work

would’ve also been really into seeing him with his saber. not using it necessarily (though him trying to practice with nmj overseeing it would’ve also been neat) but having him grapple with the complicated nature of the nie clan cultivation would’ve been very cool

i love how a lot of this is just .. i wanna know how nhs’s mind works more. like the scene with jgy’s hat at the end of cql, i’d have been superrr into what he does post-canon. in mdzs i believe it seems like he was maybe vying for the chief cultivator position and i think it’s doable in cql too so I Would Like To See It

some of this stuff is probably covered in fatal journey so im very excited for that

also .. am curious as to whether nhs’s position as clan leader would’ve changed post-canon. like would he have shown how capable he is or let people still think he was just a pushover

For the writing passage, there's two specific ones that stick out in my head currently. Absolutely, the image of Yukio in the rain. From that first chapter of "I follow your smoldering footsteps...", the opening scene is vividly ingrained in my mind, I can hear the rain. Vigilante Yukio is always such a good image, but you really solidified it for me. The second one... Still not over the balloon scene. Will I ever be? Specifically the balloon gaining color... hhhh.

I consider this ship’s feelings: Mutual | Mixed | Strange | Awkward | Platonic | Sibling-like | One-sided | They don’t really like each other | It’s not quite sibling-like I think | The love is deep and real and consciously based on the understanding that they were strangers | Unexpected companions of the soul I suppose | The only sad part is that neither would have been each other’s first choice | But I don’t know like... is that a sad thing | Given that their past experiences are what permit both Bob and Franck to communicate what they want from each other | In the way neither of them succeeded with previous love/affectionate interests | Idk that seems very caring to me

I’d consider the relationship: Healthy | Awkward | Abusive | Doesn’t work properly | They’d never get together | Is this not the healthiest relationship lib!Franck is in right now | They haven’t seen Brodi in ages | And Sonny always comes with a slight wariness because literal heir of the new France | And David is a tsundere which is uh | Not unhealthy but | Unsettling | Yeah 1777 is the healthiest so far it’s all good

General Opinion: This is one of the most useful relationships in aksug to me. I will try to explain just one or two aspects for length.

I value lib!Franck/Bob greatly for many reasons. But the most important reason - and also the part where I started to see where this ship was going - was that it allowed me to depict Franck genuinely fucking up. The apology, the forgiveness, and the subsequent conscious attempts they make to not take Bob’s forgiveness for granted - dealing with all of those things, too. Yes, they were in a terrible state of mind at the time, and lib!Franck is pretty much perpetually unwell as it is. But making sexual advances on a friend - who had never shown romantic/sexual interest in them, turned out to be ace, and came a long way just to support them - was not ideal conduct. It wasn’t something Franck had to be told wasn’t ideal, however, and they apologized straight away; Bob in turn recognized that they were having a hard time, and that Franck wasn’t trying to hurt or force him into anything; mutual understanding was achieved. Lib!Franck became the second protagonist of the narrative when I realized that it was really interesting to see the workings of a dictatorship through a citizen’s eyes; Sebastian is in a place devoid of most minor consequences, but Franck is not, and I fear perpetually that I’m making it so that Franck is just carried along with the current without any agency or fault of their own. That is a problem. The scene(s) where they dealt with their mess-up in regards to Bob, however, were not scenes that caused this kind of worry in me. 

That was just the narrative aspect. Bob also allows for a discussion of the spiritual where the Justice pair are unavailable - especially geared to people who do not necessarily believe in anything. Franck doesn’t become Christian or anything as a result of Bob helping them, but I think they know genuine peace with each other, and whatever Bob leaves behind Franck knows to treasure or mull over for a long time. Season 3 will make more apparent the specific things Bob gets out of their relationship (stuff that Franck does not know about, at least), but rest assured that they remain kind and purely loving towards each other. I really like this pairing.
