Yeah. Everyone just believes Volpina's on that specific side. She's actually the only one trying to get the miraculous.
ha!
Ladybug and Chat show up to fix everything, having brought in backup in the form of Viperion and Ryuko.
All the Akumas: "HEY! Settle a debate for us! Team Adrienette or Team Lukanette!!"
LB, CN, and Viperion: *confused and flustered*
Ryuko: "Kagaminette."

All the fandoms I'm in + my 5 main ships (this is literally just for fun)
Marvel
Been in the longest
First fanfiction I read was about this fandom (I think)
Ships
Parley/Parkner - spend hours looking for good fics, have hundreds I need to read
Ironstrange - didn't really ship at first, now I love it
Frostiron - ‘How Big, How Blue, How beautiful’ by Takara Phoenix is the main reason I ship this and I'm working on fanbinding it
Sambucky - really cute, will always ship it
MJ/Shuri - yes, we love two badasses
Teen wolf
Probably second fandom I've been in the longest
Ships
Sterek - they had so much chemistry, should have been canon
Scisaac - swear they had more of a relationship than friendship
Stackson - had so much enemies to lovers potential
Sheriff/Peter - the fanfictions are just something else
Allison/Kira - also two badasses
Maze Runner
Love both the books and movies just wish they turned the other 2 books into movies
Ships
Newtmas - I love this ship so much
Teresa/Brenda - I swear all the girl/girl ships I love are badasses
Minho/Aris - fanfiction made me ship it
Sonya/Harriett - see even more badasses
Thominewt - these three were the greatest throuple
My Hero Academia
Don't watch anymore but still love the ships
Ships
Bakudeku - this would really only work out if it was one sided
Todobaku - enemies to lovers energy
Dabihawks - love the hero/villain dynamic so much
Todolida - very cute
Shintodo - I swear most ships with todoroki seems to just work
DreamSMP/MCYT
Was obsessed with the fandom
Ships
Dreamnotfound - classic
Deoinnit - PLATONIC only though
Karlnapity - favourite threesome
Quackity/Wilbur - The enemies to lover potential
Ranboo/Tubbo - Favourite platonic husbands
Miraculous Ladybug
Watched the first season in like 2016? Watched the second season a few years later and now I kind of on-off watch it
Ships
Lukadrien - Tumblr made me discover that it was a thing and I've loved it ever since
Kagaminette - shipped this since the episode we were first introduced to kagami
Alyno - cute also the first straight ship I have mentioned on here
Adrienette/ladynoir - there relationship is more confusing then my sexuality-
Julerose - Yes, first gay thing I shipped in MLB, they are made for one another

hee hee hoo hoo I cant wait to see the felinette fucks get all discoursey again
The problems with adrienette started with felinette, and had felinette gone forward, it would have been bad- or possibly more toxic in a different direction- since Felix was never framed as a "pure and innocent sunshine boy" as the show seems to frame Adrien.
Cat's issues regarding nonchalance for his role as a hero and nonstop harassment of Ladybug stem from the original concept, of which was never re-framed to fit the new version of the deuteragonist until it became a roadblock for progressing an already-sluggish story.
Felinette was going to be bad because the show was still going to be written in the direction- and with the philosophy- that Marinette's suffering and misfortune was humorous. And while Adrien Agreste has, at least, the excuse of abuse and ignorance on his side, Felix did not. And from there, I can state, firmly. That Felinette would have been no better than Adrienette.
The idea that PV would have been "better" stems from the fact that, with a more serious (not darker, not more mature, but a more serious) tone, the show may have approached the story differently- and with less freedom to create more-for-lower-quality-3D episodes, the show may have compacted more of it's story into less episodes, resulting in a firmer progress of character development.
However, in the end, this is a result of writing and direction. Felix would have been no better than Adrien, I agree wholeheartedly. But he would have not been worse, either. The show would have still been spearheaded by the same folk who would have picked people to write the story as it matches their morals, humor, and vision for what the show would be. And if those people ultimately made the decision for titty physics on a 13-year old characters, skintight spandex on every little girl in the show, and sexual harassment/teenage girls are stupid and irrational humor then these people would have written Felix as shit because they write Adrien as shit.
And this also means that Fathom, or Luka, or whatever other character they could have decided on would be shit too- had they had made it canon instead of the LS. The same humor would have been draped over it- Luka, white savior, here to save Marinette from silly girl problems with his guitar and nonchalance- laughing at her every mistake and using his man powers to fix it. Look- My point is that he problem isn't adrienette, or marivanily, or kagaminette or lukanette-- its that the writing makes everything it touches toxic via marinette's humiliation becasue that is a CORE ELEMENT OF THE SERIES.
But Adrien was written, and Felix was not. It's hard for some people to really see that. Hell, some people can't see the difference between Pre-canon Felix(who is actually Adrien and PV Felix was named Adrien) and Felix Fathom. So of course people are going to make that claim- that Felix was going to be better. So while we have theories and what ifs, we don't have a solid statement on how old Love Square would have turned out. But we do have canon love square, we have six seasons of it.
But, you know what? Felix was not written. So I will write him instead, and I will write him better. I will write Felinette to be the way I always wanted Adrienette- except he wears a tie and is grumpy and has a punny name about being Lucky when he is not. Felix isn't Adrien- they changed him for a reason! I am interested in that version instead. I like to explore those what ifs. And if you're willing to put me down because of one thing or another outside of that, then get out of my space and leave me alone.
The only time anyone is ever wrong in this whole discussion is when they make the claim that PV = Fathom when actually PV = Adrien.
#tldr: Folk can write adrien well. folk can write Felix well. Zag cannot#Both are bad- and if Adrien is good enough than Felix is good enough#Both sides shut up you're ruining it for people who like things.#you're not better because you willingly watch canon and sneer at people who prefer the PV#and PV people arent better because anime supremacy or whatever#all of miraculous is shit get OVER it#we're friends here you're just being mean and im sorry people make yall feel that way

Headcanons for Lila trying to do bad stuff to Marinette and the Kagami, Marinette's amazing girlfriend, comes to save the day
Been a while since I got any Kagaminette asks lol
Marinette wasn’t surprised that Lila was plotting something. She wasn’t entirely sure what that something was anymore, but it was something she would much rather avoid if she could.
Kagami was one of the only two people she ever told about what was going on with Lila, like what was really, really happening. And Kagami took this kind of thing incredibly seriously.
So when she figured out what Lila’s likely plan of action was- some kind of public humiliation- she stuck right at Marinette’s side and kept an eagle eye out for anyone Lila could’ve manipulated.
Kagami managed to thwart Lila’s plan of getting paint all over Marinette and her sketchbook, thus rendering her designs useless, which Marinette was overwhelmingly grateful for.
Lila, of course, claimed it was all an accident, but Kagami knew better. She also knew that Lila would likely watch her step for a while, knowing that Kagami would be there for her girlfriend.

The Ballad of You and Me, by @gaussiansphere
Based on a prompt submitted by @their-destinys-writer: Kagaminette Biker AU, Marinette is the Biker.
AO3; 1960s AU, Rock Band AU, Bikers AU, Implied/Referenced Murder
Summary:
After meeting a mysterious woman at one of her band's gigs, Kagami can't make herself look away from what follows.
Fear is obsession is desire is love.
---
Kagami gave the bartender a quick nod and took a breath, slamming her drink back as quickly as possible before breathing out. The music of the club was suffocating—amplified guitar and bass echoing off the walls as the band on stage finished up their set. She motioned for another drink and slipped a small tip under her empty glass, before destroying the second shot as quickly as the first. Shaking her head slightly to clear the worst of the feeling, she opened her eyes to see Luka shaking his in disapproval.
"It's not even ten minutes until we're on, could you really not have waited just a bit longer to destroy your liver?"
"I never perform sober, it's bad form not to bring your best to a performance like this, and I do my best work when I've had the chance to relax..."
Luka was unimpressed, "You really think I'm buying that you can only sing when you're wasted?”
"First, I am not wasted, I am simply tipsy—the difference between the two is significant. Second, it helps me loosen up, which I have only accomplished now, no thanks to you."
He finally turned back with a sigh, "Whatever, as long as you're ready when we come on and the show gets done, I can't stop you. Just try and make this one your last one before the show, please?"
Kagami shrugged, "I'll do my best."
Kagami signaled the bartender for one last shot, which she downed with extreme prejudice before following Luka through the crowd, which even now was filling the whole room. The room wobbled slightly as she went forward, the mass of people pressing in on all sides.
The band on the stage started to wind down their set, as Kagami looked back to the bar, where a rough looking crowd of men was clustering on one side, their leather vests covered in patches. She nudged Luka and tilted her head towards them, “Look at those guys over there, staring down the girl across the bar.” She indicated a darked haired girl wearing a long, brightly-colored shawl “What do you make of them?”
He shrugged, “Eh, it’s bikers, what’s the big deal?” he paused, looking back between the girl and the gang, “If you’re thinking what I think you’re thinking, here’s what I say: Not. Our. Problem. It’s all well and good to help a girl out, but not if that means brawling a dozen Hells Angels to get to her.”
Kagami turned up her nose, “I figured you’d say that. I suppose I’ll just have to ask Fel-” “No,” Luka interrupted, “You are not going to ask Felix for help, no matter how bad this seems. The last thing we need is to get kicked out and handed over to the cops after whatever he does.”
As if on command, their bassist appeared behind them, “I heard my name. I don’t suppose you happen to be talking about those fellows over there…” Kagami picked up on where he was going, “Yes, we actually were. I was wondering if you would be amenable to-” Luka slapped her on the back, interrupting her and sending her stumbling forward.
“We’re good, thanks.” He interjected. Felix shrugged, “If you’re sure, I suppose there’s nothing I can do.” He waited for Luka to momentarily turn to the stage, before he shot Kagami a wink and a sharp smirk. Luka turned back, seemingly sensing the silent message and shot Felix a disapproving look.
As they reached the edge of the stage, Adrien was already tuning his guitar on the sidelines, shooting them a quick smile before going back to his work. Nino, beside him, was anxiously tapping out a quiet rhythm on his drum sticks.
“Look alive ladies,” Felix sauntered up the stairs, grabbing his bass off its stand and sliding its strap over his shoulders, “it’s game time.” Kagami and Luka followed, and as he went ahead, she slipped a small flask from her back pocket and downed it in one go, shaking off the liquor and smiling, “You heard the man, let’s show them what we’ve got.”
As the band took their places up on stage, Kagami looked out through the haze and bright lights to the bar on the far side of the club. The bikers were still there it seems, still seeming to gravitate around the poor woman, but without making much ground in the interim. Meanwhile, the girl at the bar turned from the bikers to her, locking her in place with her deep blue stare, even as the rest of the band began without her.
Closing her eyes, Kagami stepped up to the microphone stand.
---
Drink in hand and her band beside her, Kagami was back at the bar. Luka and Felix were at either side, Luka slowly sipping a gin and tonic while their bassist drank his ‘Cuba libre.’
Luka gestured to Felix’s drink with his own. “You know you can just ask the bartender for a rum and coke, right? It’s the same thing and it doesn’t make you look like a tool when you order it.”
Felix shook his head, “That’s a classic mistake, but just that—the rum and coke are just two simple ingredients shaken together. The Cuba Libre, on the other hand, is a far more sophisticated choice—it has lime. ”
Luka raised his voice in objection as Kagami looked on with half-hidden amusement, before her eyes drifted back to where the blue-eyed girl had been sitting. She had stepped out a few minutes before, still trailed by the bikers, who themselves had barely moved since the band had finished their set—always looming in the shadows, never striking.
She finished her drink and excused herself to her bandmates, who were now all embroiled in the cocktail debate—Adrien and Nino stepping in behind Luka and Felix respectively. She extricated herself from their rapidly closing circle, instead traveling to the door and taking a tentative step outside into the cool evening air.
There, leaning against the club’s brick wall, was the girl from before, smoking a cigarette as she looked out into the night. The streetlights dimly lit the parking lot ahead, where the bikers were clustered as before, staring the two down from afar.
The blue-eyed girl caught Kagami’s eye and smiled, beckoning her over and offering a cigarette. Kagami nodded and accepted it, letting her light it from her own embers.
“You were pretty good up there. It’s always nice to see new acts come up from time to time.”
“Thanks. Are you a regular?”
“Of a sort. Let’s just say I have a vested interest in the success of this club.” she extended her hand, “Marinette, it’s nice to meet you.”
“Kagami, likewise.” she paused, before lowering her voice and leaning in, “Look, I don’t mean to alarm you, but there are some men that I think have been following you. Just wanted to let you know if you hadn’t noticed. If you want help, my friends and I can try and do what we can.”
Marinette chuckled lightly, “You shouldn’t worry about them. They usually don’t cause any trouble unless ordered.”
Kagami raised an eyebrow in disbelief. Making Marinette smile, “Just trust me, if you don’t give them any trouble they won’t give you any. It was nice meeting you, Kagami.” She pulled the shawl off to reveal a leather vest, and fished through its pockets to produce an old receipt, before scribbling something on it.
She slipped it into Kagami’s hand, “I hope this isn’t the last time we meet either,” before turning to walk out to the bikers in the lot, her vest proudly emblazoned:
HELLS ANGELS
CALIFORNIA
---
Luka played a few experimental chords on his guitar, before pausing and playing them again with a slight tweak.
Across from him, Felix was tapping a pen on his notepad impatiently, “I think we should write something about the war, something faster than usual.”
Luka looked up at him and pointedly played another chord sequence, tweaked slightly again but in the same rhythm as before.
Between them, Kagami was sitting at the head of the table, buried in newspapers and ignoring their latest spat. Sensing the two pairs of eyes boring down on her, she looked up, gathered her newspapers, and left the room, carting them up to her bedroom, where she spread them back out over her bed. She had pulled every issue of the paper from the last two years that mentioned the Hells Angels, and she was combing through them all.
Most seemed to be minor crime reports or local coverage, but every now and then an article would pop up with something more significant. A year ago, their clubhouse in Anaheim burned to the ground. Three months later, half the leadership of the chapter were found dead in a booth at their favorite bar, poisoned. The obituaries of the second half were scattered through the pages since—all supposedly accidental or self-inflicted.
One picture in particular caught her eye—a dark haired woman with piercing eyes peering from the margins of a photograph of a club scene. Kagami felt her pulse speed, and she pulled the picture closer. It was almost covered by the crowd, but she could just barely make out the leather vest on Marinette’s chest.
Reaching into her pocket, she drew out the note Marinette had given her—7:00pm, next Saturday night, and the name of a local club.
---
Kagami puffed nervously on her cigarette, looking all around for Marinette to show herself. The Blue Toucan was doing plenty of business that night, as a steady stream of people passed her, coming and going. She caught Felix’s eye as she looked around—he shot her a devilish grin, patted the revolver hanging loosely under his jacket, and winked.
Sometimes she wondered why she agrees to bring him along to things like these. He always claims it's just in case, but from time to time she wonders if he’s just looking for a reason to scrap. It was nice, though, to have a friendly face in the distant crowd. When she mentioned that she was headed to a biker bar that night, Luka had given her such an incredulous look that she was surprised his eyes didn’t tumble out right then.
Kagami had positioned herself just to the left of the entrance, where two burly men in leather were keeping the rowdier folks outside. There, she could look over the whole parking lot at once. It was only belatedly that she realized, as a long nail tapped her on the shoulder, that her date for the night wouldn’t necessarily be coming from outside. She nervously turned to Marinette, who offered her hand and gave a dazzling smile.
“You look good tonight—I’m glad you could make it.” As Kagami took it, Marinette nodded to the men at the door and pulled her inside.
The Blue Toucan looked like it had once been a tiki bar, but that past was long-covered by the current ownership and membership. Bike parts covered the east wall, some slightly charred, others bent out of shape, and more seemingly fine, while the opposite wall, sitting above the bar, was decorated with a mural depicting a stylized pyramid of skulls.
Marinette led Kagami there, where she ordered them both drinks—whiskey and vodka neat. Kagami nodded in appreciation as they watched the bartender make their drinks. “You’re a… fascinating woman, Marinette.”
She smirked a little, “Yeah? What makes you say so?”
“It’s unheard of for a woman to be admitted to the Angels, and yet you’re here.” Marinette nodded, raising an eyebrow, as Kagami continued, “It seems that they’ve had a very chaotic time recently, which might influence such things, no?”
“Perhaps it would. I certainly couldn’t tell you. Things have been peaceful since I’ve arrived.” The bartender came with both their drinks, and Marinette raised hers in a small toast.
“Cheers, Kagami—I knew I liked you for a reason.”
Her heart thundering in her chest, Kagami raised her vodka and clinked it against Marinette’s before she downed half. Marinette took a sip of hers, and then another, as Kagami shook off the vodka’s burn. Taking a larger swig, Marinette rose and walked over to the jukebox in the bar, fiddling with a few of the buttons before returning and taking another drink. Feeling fainter than she looked, Kagami downed the rest of her vodka and looked her in the eye.
“Why’d you do it? Was this really worth it?”
Marinette chuckled, “Probably not to you. This life, like everything around it, is built on respect and efficiency. I did what needed to be done to be respected enough to do efficient business. No one respected me then—they do now.”
“It’s better to rule by fear than by love—the Prince, no?”
“But the wise ruler knows it is best to possess both. Tell me, Kagami, would you like to dance?”
As they rose, the jukebox clicked to a slower song, and Marinette took her hand in hers, placing the other arm on her shoulder. They turned slowly, bobbing in pace with the song as they navigated through the steps of the waltz. Kagami looked into her partner’s blue eyes—enchanting, haunting, and hungry—and felt her heart thundering.
Marinette led them in the dance, their feet gliding across the floor. As they turned, Kagami found herself standing below the pyramid of skulls. She leaned in and Marinette’s lips met hers.
They tasted like salt and iron. When she pulled back, a small trail of red ran from the corner of her mouth.
Kagami feared and loved her.

For the character ask, if you're still taking them! Marinette Dupain-Cheng: 4, 6, 7, 14(optional), 15 and 16 please!
4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
I would love to see Marinette in a Ghibli movie, as a protagonist or maybe a secondary character! If I had to pick an existing one, I'd pick either "The Cat Returns" (intentional, of course, heehee) or "Spirited Away".
And of course, another magical girl series <3 Like Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura or Sugar Sugar Rune.
6. What’s something you have in common with this character?
Hmm... I guess that I have some experience with being bullied and being insecure too.
7. What’s something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
I really like how many fans managed to write about Marinette being clever and creative without overdoing it, making her clumsiness more endearing and not humiliating her or focusing on making her "cringe". And when love square gets so much love from all sides <3
14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
I had to look it up, and there are too many choices to pick only one! xD
I'd say her style would be a mix of soft, cute, artsy and trendy. I can see Marinette experimenting with different styles, she's into fashion after all.
15. What’s your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn’t matter if it’s canon or not.)
I'm faithful to the love square (lol) mainly. I have a soft spot for the Marichat and Adrinette sides - but I love them all!!
Other pairings I love for Marinette: Alyanette and Kagaminette!
16. What’s your least favorite ship for this character?
Unless it's in very specific AUs: Chlonette, Lilanette and the Batman crossover pairings (too affiliated to salty fics ^^; )
Thanks Anon! :D

Sorry to keep bombarding you with asks about the Kiss AU but I’d like to know how Frozer goes down in this AU?
Aight let’s get to it~! (All the eps are pretty much pre-relationship till the end of season 3 despite all of this K I S s I n G)
It would originally be a group outing with not only adrinette and Luka and Kagami, but also Alya and Nino. However, DJWifi couldn’t make it due to babysitting jobs (that and also they’re trying to get Adrien and Mari to confess to one another).
What ends up happening is that Adrien and Kagami fight over who gets to skate with Marinette, literally fencing against each other with brooms on the ice, ignoring poor Phillipe who keeps asking them to join his class.
Luka and Mari watches them with amusement and skate together, the latter asking about what Lycee life is like. Adrien and Kagami stop fighting for one second to see them both only to burn with jealousy and skate after Luka in anger.
The oldest teen simply just opens his arms innocently and grabs them both with ease in each hand like they’re children.
“No need to get jealous~ there’s more of me to share around!”
“Jealous!? You’re getting a bit cozy with my partner right there, Blueberry!”
“What do you mean partner??? She’s my bride to be!”
Marinette simply face palms at this.
Akuma attack happens as per usual, no sourness or bitter feelings from Chat and everything is lighthearted. To kiss, Marinette sneakily pulls Adrien in the closet much to his surprise and leaves him a purring mess as she pursues Frozer.
There’s a lot of handholding involved so not only has the duo upgraded their costumes through the blue macaron/cheese, their powers have boosted, making them stronger, more agile and in sync.
The episode ends with Adrien and Marinette being cute and everything with each other, not letting go of their hands. Marinette asks if he’d like to skate again but with just her and he happily agrees, spinning her around in a hug.
Kagami watches with slight bittersweetness and she’s surprised to see Luka so carefree. Deep down inside, she knows that she has no chance against Adrien.
“Doesn’t it bother you?” The fencer asked the musician.
“What?”
“Seeing them like that?”
“Why would it? I love them both. Seeing them happy makes me happy, even if I’m not the cause of it,” Luka glanced at them with a soft smile and then peered back at Kagami. “Life is too short to dwell on negative feelings,”
“More of a reason to never hesitate for what you want in life. Otherwise they’ll slip out of your fingers quicker than you realise,” Kagami countered. “Though, I doubt someone who’s far too carefree as yourself would understand that.”
Luka gaped at her for a millisecond before bursting out in laughter, leaning against the wall for support.
“I won’t lie, I’ve let go of more things than I’d like to admit because of my passiveness.” His eyes turned gentle then. “But, it’s not in my nature to storm into battle as head strongly as you. I like to observe and watch. I’m content with how things are now and I’ll pace myself in a manner I’m most comfortable with.”
“I see, that’s one way to put it,” Kagami hummed in thought, taking his words into consideration. Clearly he’s had a much different upbringing than her...a much free one...with no pressure to maintain the family’s honour and dignity.
“It’s not a bad thing, the way you approach your feelings and your loved ones. In fact, it’s a trait I admire. I can’t wait to see how you’ll bloom as you grow, Kagami,” The girl felt a tickle to her heart, a small feeling of warmth. Friendship... “And sometimes, if you want to keep growing and get stronger...you have to let things go. One step at a time,”
Luka’s smile turned sad, eyebrows furrowed. He kept his hands on the girl’s shoulders so that her back was towards the duo, as Adrien went in for a kiss, his ring and Marinette’s earrings mysteriously missing.
“Are you telling me to give up on Marinette?” The very idea felt like a knife through poor Kagami’s heart, hands clenching till her knuckles whitened.
“That’s up to you. Remember, at the end of the day, their feelings matter too, especially the one you’re pursuing.” He gave her shoulder one last gentle squeeze before offering to take her home. They don’t mention about their love dilemmas again.
The end~ >:’)

Do you think you could do a piece with these prompts please?
Kagaminette, fencing, date, and cherry blossoms.
Kagami loves this time of year. Paris has never quite filled the space in her heart that the lively streets of Kyoto but, on days like these, the Japanese prodigy can appreciate the charm of the City of Lights. Springtime in Paris has never felt so beautiful than here in the Jardin du Palais-Royal, surrounded on all sides by the fragrance of cherry blossoms and the presence of the friend she’d never thought she’d have…
Somehow, her soul grows fonder of Marinette every day.
She’s hesitant to call this a date, but she’s fairly certain that this is what it is. Marinette is holding her hand. Marinette brought her pastries and a picnic blanket to sit on for when they make it to the heart of the jardin. She hasn’t actually called it a date outright, but Kagami infers Marinette’s intentions nonetheless.
Marinette is prattling on, as she always does, and Kagami listens with half an ear, preferring to infer her mood from the tone of her voice than her babbling. She’s always talking about something and Kagami finds it kind of soothing, in its own special way. She hates small talk but somehow, Marinette makes it seem comforting.
“If you didn’t spend all of your time practicing your amazing fencing skills, what do you think you would do?”
It’s an odd question, but Marinette is an odd girl. It does make her pause though. Fencing is her life — what would she do without it?
“I would spend time with the person I love,” Kagami answers after a moments’ thought. She turns to Marinette and offers her one of her very rare, coveted smiles. “Like I’m doing today.”

…Kagaminette/Marigami coffee shop AU???
Sorry I’m Marigami trash
On the House
(Alternative title: One small Marigami with a Nino flavor shot)
(Read it on AO3!)
“One large mocha, extra whip!” Marinette called out to the people at the machines. She shooed the customer to the side and started on the next person — someone with a black bob cut and deep brown eyes and freckles across her nose and cheeks.
“Hi!” she said to the girl. “What can I do for you?”
“I’ll take a small black coffee with a blueberry flavor shot.”
It was a busy Friday morning before the workday even started, and Marinette was known for being a hard worker who got things done on time. Despite this, she paused in her tracks, hands frozen at the register.
Only for a moment, though. She quickly got a move on it again, undeterred. “And what name should I use?”
“Kagami,” the girl responded, still not making eye contact.
“Kagami,” Marinette repeated. “Pretty name.”
Pretty girl, she thought.
“Yeah.” They stood there like that, a moment more. “I’ll pay in cash —”
“On the house,” Marinette said. She got a free drink every shift, so she’d use that to pay for it — for the pretty girl who had a very unusual order.
“Thank you,” Kagami said, scooting to the side.
“Come again soon,” she replied, and she meant it.
When Kagami woke up the next morning, she knew, unfortunately, she’d have no reason to visit that little coffee shop she’d gone to the day before. She wouldn’t be in that part of town, and going out of her way would be impractical.
Except... She hadn’t paid for her coffee. And though the barista said it was on the house, she didn’t want to risk getting her in trouble, and paying was the right thing to do, right? Stimulate the economy and all that?
Kagami got into her car that morning twenty minutes early just so she’d have time to swing by the coffee house, pay, and get back on the road in time for fencing practice.
It was only the right thing to do.
The car ride was long and she hardly paid attention to the news podcast she put on. More than anything, she was awake, even though it was early.
As soon as Marinette saw Kagami come in the next day, she turned toward her coworker. “Hey, Nino? Can you cover the register for a bit?”
“Yeah, dude. Why?”
“Uh, I just — I’ll explain later.”
She gave one last glance to the girl walking in confidently, her eyes turned down, and Nino must have noticed because she saw him smirk as she turned her head. Her face went red.
Small coffee, one blueberry flavor shot, she thought. She wrote Kagami’s name on the cup — it really was a pretty name.
Once she was done writing, though, her hand shifted downward and she couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to write.
Am I really doing this? she thought to herself. Like, for real?
Still, she couldn’t stop.
Once she finished writing on the cup, she poured the coffee and added the flavor shot, turning quickly to Kagami — who was backing around.
“Wait!” Marinette said, a bit loudly, over the counter. “Kagami.”
The girl turned toward her.
“I made you your drink.”
Kagami kept looking at the floor, but her face reddened slightly. “I didn’t order anything,” she said. “I only came here to pay for yesterday’s coffee.”
Marinette rolled her eyes. “I gave that to you on the house.” She turned toward Nino. “Give her the money back.” Nino’s eyes went wide, but he opened the register and pulled the money out.
“Put it back,” Kagami said. “I’ll pay for today’s drink, if not yesterday’s.”
Nino’s hands froze.
“Nope,” Marinette said, her eyebrows raised. “It’s on the house.”
Kagami shuffled upwards. Customers were looking at them, but Marinette didn’t care. “Why won’t you let me pay for it?” she asked.
“I want you to have it.” She rotated the cup slightly so that her phone number written on the side would be visible to Kagami. “I’m Marinette,” she said.
She didn’t meet her eyes, still, and she didn’t quite smile — but the redness on her face intensified and her hands were fidgeting at her waist. Finally, she accepted the drink.
“I’ll call you, then.”

I’m curious, if you had to ship Marinette with someone other than Luka, who would you choose?
Ivan or Zoe/Kagami. With Ivanette specifically, it’s like--my problem with Myvan has always been that it’s “ship the two heavyset characters,” and Ivan is my favorite side student in the Miracuclass. I have other reasons too but I have a tag for that.
Anonymous asked:
Thoughts on Feligami? (felix x kagami)
I think it’s neat. Plus, the idea of Adrimi breaking up and Kagami going for his cousin who can intellectually challenge her amuses me.
Anonymous asked:
What do you see as some valid reasons people might not like Lukanette? As in BESIDES the dumb reason of "ohhh, she leads him on and treats him like a tool/second choice/rebound/backup/shoulder to cry on" and other terrible horrible no good very bad things people keep throwing at poor Marinette? They could even not have a reason, it could just be not their cup of tea. What do you think?
I think a valid reason is that they prefer ships with lots of drama/conflict. Lukanette doesn’t really have that because both Luka and Marinette usually communicate whatever they’re feeling within a matter of one to two episodes (unless it’s Marinette’s case where she literally felt like she couldn’t/wasn’t allowed). Lukanette is a very “external conflict” ship, where the conflict doesn’t usually come from Luka or Marinette but from outside sources like Shadow Moth, business opportunities, et cetera. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I get that not being people’s cup of tea.
Anonymous asked:
Before I found your blog my favorite MLB ship was Kagaminette (or as I always thought of it 'Throw the whole man away' shipping), but after you opened my eyes to the beauty of Luka and him and Marinette together my new favorite ship is Lukagaminette (or 'They deserve to be in a better show' shipping).
I appreciate “Throw the Whole Man Away Shipping” and will officially title Marigami as such.
And aww, thank you! “They Deserve to Be in a Better Show Shipping” is equally valid!!

What Your Favorite Miraculous Ladybug Ship Says About You
Transcription below the cut
Adrinette (Adrien/Marinette) - You just want good things for Marinette. Which based on my time in this fandom is not necessarily a universal sentiment
LadyNoir (Ladybug/Chat Noir) - You want to be wooed by Chat Noir
Ladrien (Ladybug/Adrien) - You love a blushy, lovestruck dork so much that one day you were like, “hey, you know what’s better than one lovestruck dork? Two lovestruck dorks.”
MariChat (Marinette/Chat Noir) - You’re always a sucker for dramatic irony
The Entire Love Square At Once (Marinette | Ladybug/Adrien | Chat Noir) - You have waded through more than three years and 70 episodes of emotional investment in the relationship equivalent of a Scooby-Doo door gag and it has smoothed over your brain and turned it to mush. You have reached the point where any time you see these two clowns alone together your mind reverts back to that of a seven year old girl manically smashing her dolls faces into each other and yelling “NOW KISS!”
Plikki (Plagg/Tikki) - You like the dynamic of LadyNoir, but you have HAD IT with all these Love Square shenanigans.
DJWifi (Nino/Alya) - Your ideal relationship dynamic is a couple of nerds nerding out together
Alyanette (Alya/Marinette) - Your ideal relationship dynamic is just girls being friends. Gals being pals.
Chlobrina (Chloé/Sabrina) - Your ideal relationship dynamic is that clip from Mean Girls where they’re talking about Regina George and that one girl is like “one time, she punched me in the face. It was awesome”
Kagaminette (Kagami/Marinette) - Your ideal date involves getting pinned against the wall by your sworn enemy before they place the tip of their sword under your chin and tilt your head up a little
Lukanette (Luka/Marinette) You’re always a sucker for a man with a guitar.
Julerose (Juleka/Rose) - You really liked the ending of Adventure Time
Chloenette (Chloé/Marinette) - You spend your afternoons sitting outside the Zagtoon office panhandling for Chloé character development
Gabenath (Gabriel/Nathalie) - Two possibilities. Either you find Nathalie’s devotion to Gabriel extremely romantic and compelling in a sort of “this is so sad can we get 50 likes” kinda way, or you think all the problems in this show could have been avoided if Gabriel had just gotten a good rebound.
Marcaniel (Marc/Nathaniel) - Your top priorities are keeping things gay and keeping things canon
Adrino (Adrien/Nino) - You saw one of those memes where the two bros have like these really tender homoerotic moments and you were like “yeah I could probably get a good 100,000 words of fanfic out of this premise”
Chlonath (Chloé/Nathaniel) - This is just the same joke as Chloé and Marinette, but you’re also heterosexual
Myvan (Mylène/Ivan) - You’re just here for some wholesome side characters
Lukadrien (Luka/Adrien) - You’re just here for some pretty boys
Nathanette (Nathaniel/Marinette) - You think Miraculous has only gone downhill since season one.
Kimalix (Kim/Alix) - You’re always a sucker for a friendly rivalry
Alyadrien (Alya/Adrien) - You think Adrien is cool and all, but you cannot STAND Marinette’s inability to talk to him
Liladrien (Lila/Adrien) - You’re either so fed up with Marinette’s creepy stalker behavior towards Adrien that you just want to see her suffer as much as possible, or you’re a masterful troll.
Adrigami (Adrien/Kagami) - You don’t understand why everybody’s so mad. That season three finale was great!

A pair of chopsticks
Here’s a little something for the marigami/kagaminette shippers.
AO3
Chapter 1: The dilemma(s) of Tsurugi Kagami
Tsurugi Kagami’s occasional visit to the Bourgeois’ Hotel in Paris turned from bad to worse. It started during brunch when Chloé was not so subtly complaining about the newest tableware the TsurugiWare had provided the Bourgeois, and her displeasure at the “ridiculous shades of green” on the plates; what was once a stunning jade green to the blonde’s eyes were now a repulsive reminder of someone’s vomit, or so she said. Although, that compliment was given months prior to now, so Kagami only takes the unnecessary remark in stride (because this is Chloé and she’s that kind of an heiress).
Soon after, Kagami felt a headache coming from the moment she saw the Chloé’s face scrunch up, but it was nothing compared to the annoyance she felt from her coffee-stained sweater (a gift from Adrien, that sweet boy) when a waiter tripped. Chloé, of course, wasted no time to yell reprimands about the proper conduct of employees, but Kagami didn’t know if she should be flattered that Chloé was furious on her behalf (which was already strange on its own), or that the blonde girl just wouldn’t let it go already considering she wasn’t the one who’ll be spending the entire day smelling like caffeine.
But what she does know – minutes later as she went out to get some air – is that someone she doesn’t know grabbed her by the arm, didn’t let go no matter how much she struggled, and is mostly likely getting kidnapped.
A newspaper is dropped on the desk in front of her, right beside the laptop that displays an article with the same subject on its brightly lit screen.
“I’m sure you and I both know what we need to talk about.”
Kagami doesn’t look up from the newspaper or the laptop screen, her arms crossed, and jaw clenched tightly.
“What started as something small such as anonymous letters and gifts has now escalated to something big as attempted kidnapping – ”
“ - That was thwarted by a security guard on duty – ”
“ – that could’ve gone anywhere; to something much worse than just an attempt.” The lady behind the desk, Azumi Tsurugi, puts her hands on the desk to lean closer to her niece. “Something much worse than a kidnapping. Kagami, I know you don’t need to be reminded of what just happened yesterday, but I need you to understand how serious this is.”
“Believe me, I know how serious it is.”
“Then work with me, Kagami-tan.”
Rarely does her aunt address her affectionately, but Kagami hears the sincere concern when she does so.
“Your mother was worried and had me notified before my secretary could, and of course I was worried when I heard what happened. Everyone close to you was worried – even that Bourgeois girl – so please… I know you as the type of person who prefers to be independent, and we can call you lucky for having the hotel security guard taking a stroll around the premises, but what if he wasn’t?”
“I’ll be more careful, Azumi oba-san. I was just caught off-guard and – ”
“ – And what, hm?” Azumi stands straighter and looks at her niece with her lips pursed, crossing her arms and her fingers digging deep into her sleeves. “I trust that you’ll be more careful than ever and that you’ll be more on-guard, but what if you weren’t again? What if in the split second that you turned your eyes away, someone was fast enough – no, faster – faster than you can blink and caught you off-guard? What, then?”
Kagami finds it hard to even look her aunt straight and instead studies the closed door of Azumi’s office.
“I know you are a strong person, Kagami-tan, but it wouldn’t hurt to have someone else to be on-guard when you aren’t.”
The tense silence between the two Tsurugis would’ve been hard for any outsider to keep silent and still, but it lasts short enough for Kagami to make her decision.
“Fine.” This time, she finds the strength to look into her aunt’s brown eyes; the same brown that she knows she shares with her family. “I accept your proposition, oba-san.”
“Good.” Azumi watches her niece stand up and bow, before walking to the door. “Expect your personal bodyguard tomorrow morning.”
Kagami shuts the door behind her, too distracted by her thoughts to even ask what time she should be expecting her bodyguard to arrive. Instead, she watches the view outside the car as Furukawa-san drives her home, partially listening to his conversation with Furuya-san.
The Tsurugi family is well-known for their strict philosophy on life, and Kagami is no exception to this. Every morning, she wakes up at 5:50AM – exactly five minutes before her alarm goes off. If the staff were from any other household, they’d ask why the young mistress even bothers setting an alarm that she doesn’t actually wake up to, but they don’t. The Tsurugi household’s staff has great understanding of how their family works and do not need to ask such foolish questions. Instead, they wait for Kagami to do her morning rituals within the comfort of her room until 6:50. Not a minute later, she hears a knock on her door to let her know that breakfast is ready and comes down to greet the staff and her mother ‘good morning.’
Routine, in a way, becomes something that Kagami holds dear to her heart, so it is to her surprise when she opens her door and sees neither Maki-san nor Angela-san as she always does (and on the rare days, Tanaka-san). Who she finds standing outside her room, instead, is a woman who looks to be the same age as her. She is dressed in a light blue collared shirt with the first button left open, an unbuttoned navy-blue blazer tucked into navy-blue pants, a leather belt with silver buckle, and black monk shoes.
“Who are you?”
Politeness is also something that Kagami puts into a lot of effort every day, but the sight of a stranger in her house – added to her still recovering self after the recent kidnapping – makes her forget.
“Good morning, ma’am.” The unidentified woman bows in greeting. “I’m Marinette Dupain-Cheng, and I’ll be your personal bodyguard for as long as you’ll need me.” The girl, Marinette, straightens herself and offers Kagami a wide and polite smile, the sides of her eyes crinkling. “I look forward to working for you, ma’am.”

Oh boy, seeing the same old lovesquare drama in the miraculous fandom. I know this has been said to death, but everyone seems to forget that they are literally the same two people. One ship isnt more "toxic" than the other, one side isn't more "boring" than the others. Marinette is still Ladybug and Chat Noir is still Adrien. I've been in the fandom since 2016 and literally nothing has changed regarding the ship discourse. How are people going to call a particular ship toxic,,, when it's the same two people as the ship they support? MariChat fans are the worst with this. I ship MariChat too, but the shippers need to chill. It's a cartoon about a catboy and a bug girl fighting a middle aged man over jewelry.
Anyways, stan Kagaminette.

hi! So I have being thinking (or observing) lately, how people prefer lu//ka over ni//no (I mean lu//ka is shoved everywhere but thats not the point). Like lu//ka is praised for being chill, akumatized for someone else, being 'musical', protective, etc (honestly ni//no has more qualities unlike... Yeah). And it just bothers me so much idk. I mean pocs are always side eyed in favour of white characters that's not new but I guess the is-ni//no-actually-lu//ka (though a v fun crack idea) (1/n)
Not at all! I’ve also noticed how Nino is increasingly shoved to the side to make room for Luka, aka a generic “rebellious” white boy who looks like he never showers and his mum dresses him and whose interest in a younger girl is so creepy that he had to be retconned to be her age. And I don’t get it, because Nino has an actual fleshed-out personality considering his lack of screentime:
he’s impulsive and super protective of those he loves, to the point where he jumps into battle repeatedly against a literal supervillain who could crush him into a paper ball without effort if she really wanted to
but he can also be stubborn and drag his heels in, like in ‘Horrificator’ over the kiss scene that Alya didn’t include
he also got akumatised over his impulsiveness because he was so angry for his best friend
and yes, that’s different to Luka getting angry for Marinette in ‘Silencer’ because
he didn’t give a flying damn about the rest of the band, just the girl whose pants he wanted in
he didn’t actually??? Confront XY and Roth directly??? He just stood there trying to get Marinette to leave and then when she was threatened, he just stood there and stewed. Compare that to Nino, who actively went on the attack at Gabriel to try and fight for Adrien and damn the consequences
he’s got varied interests and personality outside of his DJing. He loves filmmaking, he’s goofy (think ‘Puppeteer 2’), he gets flustered easily, he parkours with Alya in their free time, he loves Just Dance...there’s so much more to him than just ‘plays an instrument and makes fun of a pretty girl for stuttering’
his self-worth issues! He didn’t think he was worthy of being a superhero, that he could defend Alya in an arm wrestle... I don’t know what Luka thinks of himself. I don’t even know if he thinks
he’s so selfless and loyal! Remember ‘Zombizou’, where he stayed behind so Alya wouldn’t be a zombie alone even though she wouldn’t have a clue once everything was fixed? Where he went in to bat for Adrien in ‘Bubbler’ even knowing he could be making an enemy out of a powerful and influential man? Where he stuck by Adrien in ‘Jackady’ and made sure he was safe? What has Luka done in comparison? And before people insist that he’s barely had any screentime, they also insist that Nino has no personality because he’s hardly ever on screen too and yet I can pick all of this about Nino, so they can’t have it both ways
And you’re bang-on with characters of colour being shoved aside for white ones. You see it in how Chloé replaces Alya as Marinette’s best friend despite being a literal horrific bully while Alya has been there for Marinette through thick and thin and is the literal reason why Marinette became Ladybug not just once but twice. You see it in the colourism (preferring lighter skin shades and features over darker ones) where Kagami has all but replaced Alya as a love interest for Marinette and sometimes even as her best friend because Alya is Lila’s new bestie. And that’s not to say that Kagaminette ship and friendship are bad! I love love LOVE them to bits and Kagami is one of my favourite characters of all time. But I hardly ever see Alyanette anymore in favour of Kagaminette, and even just Alya and Marinette best friend stuff because Kagami has essentially replaced Alya. And that’s also a common salt thing too; if it’s not Chloé replacing Alya, it’s Kagami.
Don’t get me wrong, Kagami is very much a POC. She’s faced a hell of a lot of undeserved backlash and awful treatment for being the “bitchy ice queen” and even fetishisation (don’t get me started please or I won’t shut up but some of the stuff I’ve seen has made me physically nauseous at the Asian fetishisation). But at the end of the day, I’ve personally seen her treated “better” than Alya...if by “better” you mean fetishised, which is a large part of why I don’t trust 90% of other Adrigaminette and Kagaminette fans. The way she’s treated compared to Alya looks more positive but it’s still fetishism and racism. She’s just not outright bashed as much as Alya because colourism and specifically anti-Black racism, as subconscious as it might sometimes be.
And that racism and colourism (which I most definitely had a point with I swear) is something that ties into the Luka and Nino thing, where people with lighter features are preferred over people with darker features. Luka has 1/100 the personality that Nino does and get he gets 100 times the love that Nino does. He also has people gushing over his appearance and how he’s a “hot bad boy” but I never see people loving Nino for his dark skin, for his brown eyes, for his prominent nose...for anything, really.
(Not to get personal but as a fellow Arab who also has brown eyes and a nose that’s not thin and dainty and is very obviously non-white and something I hated for years, that shit hurts)
Like, if someone doesn’t like Kagami, most of the time she’s just ignored as a character and the author/artist doesn’t touch on her. But if someone doesn’t like Alya? Instead of just having her be friends with other girls instead or just naturally drift apart from Marinette (which uh is still not cool), they go wild on her, turning her into an aggressive bitch who’s obsessed with her scoops and getting Adrien and Marinette together even at the cost of Marinette’s happiness. They take her flaws and wildly exaggerate them to justify hating her (don’t ask about the sheer vitriol I saw in the aftermath of ‘Feast’ over a mistake that Luka would just be coddled for). And while it’s not as prominent, because Alya is at the intersection of being a girl and a POC - especially a Black girl - and cops double the crap, I’ve also seen Nino demonised into a spineless idiot who just stands by and lets things happen instead of...you know, the boy who literally rushed a spider supervillain to save his girlfriend, knowing he could die very easily.
I just want some wholesome Adrino 😔 There’s all this “Luka would show Adrien how to rebel and just gets how he feels” and blah but like...Adrien already knows how to rebel. He just does it in little safe ways because he’s an abused kid, rather than doing what the salters think he should do and turning into a generic copy of Luka without a thought for the consequences that Gabriel can inflict on him because he’s still a kid under his parent’s “care”. And Nino already gets how Adrien feels! He’s Adrien’s best friend! He knows what to say to Adrien and how to be there for him without having to resort to strumming a guitar and telling Adrien how he feels like Luka does to Marinette.
Nino was Adrien’s first friend. Nino’s been there for Adrien through thick and thin, through having an arse of a parent who forces him to be flaky and unreliable with hangouts. Nino is physically affectionate with Adrien without throwing himself all over him like Chloé and Lila do. Nino’s actions as an akuma were to make his best friend happy. And yet people still seem to think that Luka both loves Adrien more and is a better choice for him. Why??? All Luka would do is sit there and play his guitar. Luka is his music and nothing else but Nino...Nino has so much more to him than just his DJing.
I feel like part of it is not wanting to break up DJWiFi, which...okay, valid. That’s one of my favourite ships of all time because they’re so darn happy and cute together and it makes me melt to see two POC happy together. I personally would turn to polyamory because I want massive cuddle piles. But if you don’t want that and you’re deadset on Lukadrien (😬) then just...don’t shove Nino to the side. Continue to include Nino as Adrien’s best friend and give him appropriate screentime and character growth outside of being a cardboard cutout friend. It’s not an either-or thing like so many people seem to think, and platonic friendships are just as important as romantic relationships.

For the arranged marriage thing: Lotor's made a political arrangement with one version of earth, so now the other version wants a political arrangement with Allura and Adrien Agreste is the one who gets roped into it, with a (probably mutual?) side of "This is stupid. I don't want to do this."
Arranged Marriage Starters
Ooooh boy, a few more details than usual. Let’s see what I can do!
Vaguely post-canon, let’s say Adrien’s about twenty, everyone’s more or less the same age because Altean ages are [handwave]. We’ll go with the ‘twinned space’ thing I played around with in this fic, but with the second ‘verse being Miraculous Ladybug instead of GG.
Background Adrinino, Kagaminette, Shotor.
He fiddles with his cuffs, a nervous flutter in his chest. He’s been in the public eye since he was a child, and it only got worse after the Hawk Moth reveal. He should be used to this.
“Dude.”
Warm hands cover his, turn them face up and slide their palms together. The grip is reassuring.
“I can’t do this.”
Nino squeezes his hands, just for a moment. “It’ll be fine.”
“They could have picked someone else.”
“You volunteered.”
“I had to,” Adrien mutters. He closes his eyes. “I had to, I just--they said it needed to be someone worth something to Earth, enough for the symbolism to mean something. I’m Chat Noir. I’m not just a celebrity, I’m a hero. If not me, it would have been some... some civilian royalty in a country that doesn’t even really have a role for their monarchy anymore, maybe, or--”
“Breathe.”
Adrien pitches forward, head falling onto Nino’s shoulder and staying there. He can feel his shoulders shaking, but he tries to ignore it. Nino’s hand rubs up and down his back, solid even through the layers of his suit.
“This is stupid,” he mumbles. “I don’t want to do this.”
“Still time to ditch the ceremony,” his best friend jokes.
(Best friend and... well. It’s too late. They’d taken the plunge and it was somehow still too late.)
“Not without causing an intergalactic incident,” Adrien says. “Why did I agree to this?”
Because nobody could talk you out of it, Nino doesn’t say. “Because you care too much about the world and everyone in it.”
It’s probably true. Adrien straightens up when the door opens, turns and meets Marinette’s eyes for only a moment before his gaze skitters away, lets her fuss over his tie and his hair and his heart.
“Are you two okay?” she asks. It’s too late, but she’s trying to keep them in one piece where she can. Alya hovers at the doorway, Kagami and Chloe peering over her shoulder from the hallway behind her. Marinette ignores them, eyes darting between the boys, one hand almost forgotten at his collar, and Adrien almost wonders how he found himself in this situation.
His lady always did try to take care of him.
“It’s a bit late to be asking that,” Adrien says, for what is nowhere near the first time, but hopefully the last. “I don’t suppose now’s the time to make a joke about taking the bullet for you one last time?”
“A terrible time,” she scolds, and there’s mingled pity and affection in her eyes. “Especially since I’m already married, silly cat.”
She holds up her hand and flashes the ring like trophy, and Kagami’s flush behind her is enough to warm Adrien’s heart. It’s just a moment of distraction from the mess he’s gotten himself into, but it makes him feel better. Their own marriage is new enough that he knows the girls are still giddy over it, or would be if this Voltron situation hadn’t crashed down on their heads just a few weeks after they’d tied the knot.
“Always getting there first,” Adrien jokes. It falls flat, and he thinks Marinette might be ready to cry. “Anyway. I’ve got a bride to make some vows to. Ready to give me away, my Lady?”
Marinette smiles and nods, eyes shining, and holds out her arm. “Let’s go.”
-----
“You’ll outlive him, you know. It’s not forever.”
Allura pauses in the frantic rearrangement of her skirts to stare at the man she thought was her friend.
“Don’t look at me like that,” Lotor says, in what seems to be a joking scold of a tone, but it’s still not right.
“That was incredibly inappropriate!” Allura sputters. She whirls to Coran. “I-I’m not wrong, that was very much not the sort of thing one says to a bride. It’s very...”
“Morbid?” Lance offers brightly, the way he rarely fails to do when given the opportunity to undermine Lotor’s reputation, such as it is. “Rude? Bitchy? Completely--”
Hunk has a hand over Lance’s mouth. He smiles tightly. “Ignore them both.”
She was planning to.
“Your own husband is to be as short-lived as mine,” Allura mutters, sending a look sideways in the direction of the prince of space. “Unless Haggar did something, I suppose.”
Lotor smiles, soft and eyes closed, utterly practiced in every motion. “The witch pushed all her magics into him. He was to be her greatest weapon, after all.”
“You know,” Shiro says, knocking his ankle into the leg of Lotor’s chair. “You could do without talking about me like I’m not here.”
Lotor looks up, beaming. “You’re the one that married me.”
“Against my better judgment, yes.”
Allura clenches her jaw and looks away when Lotor tilts his head enough to rest against Shiro’s dress uniform. It’s not either of their faults this is happening. It’s not their fault their marriage, born of affection and camaraderie and companionship, gave way to people insisting she marry someone of this the planet’s twinned space.
It’s not their fault, but she resents them for it anyway.
“We’re on in five,” Pidge says, tapping at their watch. “Um. Any last words?”
“She’s not dying,” Keith grumbles, and Allura almost doesn’t hear the elbow that drives into his side.
“This is stupid, and I don’t want to do it,” Allura declares, smoothing her skirts down one last time. She lifts her head, holds her chin high, and takes Coran’s arm. “But I will do as needs must.”
-----
He thinks she’s very pretty, for a woman he’d rather not have tied his life to.
She thinks he’s quite charming, for a man she’d rather not have culled her love for.
This is something that must be done, and duty has always, will always, come first.
