Trapped in Alternate Universes

Why I Can't Part with My Favorite Characters?

Sometimes I catch myself unable to let go of my favorite characters. I keep reading stories created by other people as if they are canon, as if somewhere in the universe, they really exist. I convince myself that their adventures continue, that they are alive and happy in the worlds others have created for them. But the deeper I delve into these alternative universes, the more I feel how it breaks my heart.

Each new chapter, every fanfic, is like a window into a world I am not destined to see with my own eyes. I can only sit in my room, reading the lines printed on the screen, and dream that I could be there with them. I know it's just fiction, just words born of someone's imagination, but to me, it’s more than that. It's a way to keep a connection with those I've come to love, and even though it sometimes hurts, I can't stop.

I can't be there in reality, but maybe, somewhere in a parallel universe, these stories are real, and my favorite characters live on, continuing their journeys. And until then… I'll just keep reading.

Since the numbers post yesterday we've had signups for nearly 60 new auctions, bringing the current total to 779. That beats the number of signups for 2016/7, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, and puts us withing spitting distance of our record last year of 819. Can we do it? Will we do it? Steven Universe (+ Future) - still my favorite series of all time

Word of Honor / Tian Guan Ci Fu (Heaven Official's Blessing) -these are tied because they've both affected me in deeply positive ways

Parks and Rec - my go-to comfort show

Spy X Family - my favorite anime atm

Cardcaptor Sakura - my favorite CLAMP show and inspires the shoujo part of my art :')

The Untamed - after TGCF, I got pulled into MDZS and the Untamed brought me into the world of RPF :)
