Interlude! I saw this along the way scraping for Miss Merrychristmas panels and it hit me so hard. This is why Momo’s sacrifice of growing up too fast is so sad. It took away his ability to ever make these kinds of friendships, it’s basically Luffy as the only one he’d ever get to have this kind of dynamic with. 

I like this rumination. Leaders can’t be great unless they can build earnest connections with the people they lead. Feels all too prescient today in so many ways. It’s been a long time since I’ve given Alabasta a proper go, but seeing this made me really appreciate Vivi’s backstory.

OPLA cast reveal

Okay, so, since yesterday, new cast members are being revealed on the official One Piece Live Action's accounts at 5pm (CEST).

We already got :

So now it's sure we'll get new cast reveals everyday at 3pm (CEST), I wonder in which order they'll be revealed 👀

So. The biggest ones last : Vivi, Chopper, Robin are the Strawhats members so they'll definitly keep them last. Maybe with Ace and/or Crocodile ?

There's 5 to 8 Baroque Works characters left to reveal, 2 Marines, Ace, 4 Drum Island characters, 5 Alabasta characters and maybe 2 others minor characters. + the 3 (future) strawhats. 24 characters in total. If we stay at ~4 characters per day, that means we'll have another 6 days of reveals 👀 Which means they can cut Baroque Works characters into 2 groups, with Crocodile, Mr 1, Miss Doublefinger and Bon Clay toward the end. Smoker, Tashigi and Ace could be in the same group, and then Drum group and Arabasta group.

I don't know in which order they could release these groups... It's easier to guess who's gonna be in the last ones to be revealed than who's gonna be tomorrow... I can't wait to know !!! What are your guesses for tomorrow ? I think it could be the Marines.

Me posting this to TikTok and the running away cuz One Piece fans can’t take valid criticism (especially on TikTok)

I need the OPLA produces and casting directors to see this list I made of 100+ MENA actors they could pick to play the Alabasta (aka ARABasta) characters and GET TO CASTING SOME OF THEM! Since Vivi and Cobra are off the table, AT LEAST let Pell, Chaka, Kohza, and his family be played by MENA actors!

Okay, do you remember when I've told you that I didn't like Vivi very much when I watched One Piece for the first time?

That stemmed from the impression that she wasn't doing much in the Straw Hats crew - she wasn't fighting, she didn't have any useful skills, she only cried and whined. Now I see that she actually provides information about Arabasta (albeit often a little too late).

Her father, king Cobra, on the other hand...

I'm on episode 100th and in the flashback Kohza runs to the king, talking about drought and asking Cobra to do something about it, and the king only say that he doesn't control the nature and proposes Kohza and his father to stay in the palace "to think about their future".

And I've just realized that in almost every scene he's in, king Cobra is presented as receiving news about how terrible his subjects have it, with drought, rebellion etc., and his only action is saying sorry or give some promises, but other than that he doesn't do much. He doesn't do anything about the Dance Powder, he doesn't do anything about the drought, he doesn't even do anything about the rebels.

Vivi risks her life, while her father does nothing but talk. We are to think that he's a benevolant ruler who cares about his subjects and is conspired against by this evil Sir Crocodile, but actually he's fucking useless. No wonder his subjects are rebelling.

And you might say: "But Meg, there's nothing much he can do about the drought and he's not able to know or do anything about what is happening in the desert.", and I will say to that: I would welcome any kind of action from this guy - water import, building wells, incorporating preservation measures, anything other than sitting on the throne and doing fuck all. Let me see that he at least tries to do something about the situation, because so far it looks like Vivi only makes excuses for her dad.

Well, at least in the flashback he's doing something. I guess he got useless over time.
