Luffy vaguely remembering the name of one of Zoro’s swords is way more than I expected from him tbh hahaha.

So I assume that the “san” in Sandai Kitetsu means 3 and the “ni” in Nidai Kitetsu means 2. I have no idea how these things work or what it means, but does that imply that Sandai was made after Nidai? Either way, it will be interesting to see Hitetsu and Zoro interact at some later point.

I like Tama. I got unfortunate filler/movie vibes from the last chapter, but that’s not Oda’s fault. I’m now confident I won’t find Tama annoying.

The parallels between Ace and Tama and Shanks and Luffy are painful, considering Ace is dead and all.

Oh he knows. Though....as far as we know, Ace was not usually super gentle in how he expressed his love for Luffy.

I don’t think Luffy will tell Tama that Ace is his brother. I think he thinks it’s information that serves no purpose. BUT I really hope she finds out some other way, like one of the crew members, or a villain, or anyone really telling her.

Since I don’t really know what “gozaru” means, it will be interesting to see what the official translation will be. I assume it’s Zoro’s poor attempt at speaking more old-school/samurai-y. Also best motivation to save someone hahaha.

Ok. I predict(/want) all the Supernovas to at the end of the day be on Luffy’s side one way or another. I think the fact that they symbolise a new era is important.

Hawkins line here about following the strong to survive is an insight into his character. He doesn’t follow Kaidou because he like shim or believes in what he’s doing, but because to follow Kaidou is the way to survive/get ahead.

An obvious prediction is that at some point we’re gonna get a Luffy vs Kaidou fight, and Hawkins tarot cards are gonna tell him that Luffy has only the tiniest chance of winning...but then, of course, Luffy will end up on top anyway.

Okay, so I’ve been thinking about Ace’s timeline since chapter 912 aired. Something bugs me.

Spoilers ahead!

Ace was born on Baterilla, a year and three months after Roger died. (Eleven months overdue) Garp took him to Dawn Island, where he spent the next 17 years of his life. 

After sailing out, he gathered his crew, the Spade pirates. Now, Tama was 5 years old when she met Ace and the Spade pirates. She’s 8 years old now, meaning she met them a year before the Marineford Arc. If they were a crew, independent of Whitebeard then, that would mean Ace was 19 years old. 

(P.S. We see him learning to weave hats in the picture. So Tama showed him how to do that, and he used the knowledge to make Oars his beloved hat.)

So, afterwards, he tried to take on Whitebeard and failed miserably. The next few days/weeks? He spent trying to kill the old man. But, he eventually grew to love him and the crew. 

Then, Blackbeard kills Thatch and Ace goes after him. He gets captured, ends up in Marineford and dies at the age of 20.

My point is…he spent less than a year with his warm and loving family. Whitebeard made such a positive change and good influence on him in such a short time. Imagine how happy and well adjusted he could have been if he had more time with Whitebeard and the crew.

One Piece 912

This is my favorite part of One Piece chapter 912. To finally see them reunite after so long feels really good.They were both just beyond ecstatic to see one another. I think this proves that Zoro is Luffy’s bff. They are so much alike in so many ways. He is definitely Luffy’s right hand man. I can’t wait to see them fight Hawkins together!

I am also glad to see that Zoro is okay after the seppuku incident. I was a little worried cause he kid of blew his cover. I am curious about the rest of the Straw Hats.We still don’t know why they didn’t respond on the den den mushi. There might be something going on there. Overall I really enjoyed this chapter.

The color spread for chapter 912 is so fun. I like how it's so pumped for all the sports. You've got Frankly being SUPER~ at basketball, then you've got Chopper the tiniest featherweight here to box, I really like Robin's equestrian look and how it kind of fits her part one aestheic and how the horse looks so srsbns, you've got Usopp being the expert marksman he is, I like Luffy's mugiwara flag symbol on his karategi, Sanji's butterfly stroke looks great. Nami's also got the mugiwara emblem on her wristband, Brooks has send his own head (!!!) flying instead of the soccer ball, and Zoro's here to win the day with three bat style. The lack of Jinbei is disappointing and in some ways ominous, but as a cover this cover is really my jam.
