SPOILERS AHEAD FOR SUFFERING GAME GRAPHIC NOVEL
Okay SO. Everyone has some thoughts on this one for sure as I have seen. A lot of people are saying they took a lot from Wonderland and that it's a disappointment as an adaptation but here's the thing: I have viewed the books as separate canon from the podcast since around Crystal Kingdom. I don't necessarily see it as a faithful adaptation but as a cool way to get more people into the story without giving EVERYTHING away in case they decide to listen. However, that being said, I have some things to say. I'm going to start with the negative first because even though I LOVED this book I so have some things I will miss about it (but please understand that I LOVED THE BOOK SM GUYS, I will ofc be adding what I loved after this part)
My Issues/Things I Wish Were Included:
Magnus trying to find his own answers with the voidfish. I was really looking forward to how they would show and represent that!
"I'm afraid no one else will have me" was such a good scene, I really liked the vulnerability Taako showed then because aside from his scene in Petals we haven't seen a whole lot of that from him in the books (again, I veiw the books as separate canon, but it would be nice to see)
CAM! I missed Cam so much he was delightful
No Boss Rush
I don't like that they basically forced Magus to decide if he wanted to lose Julia and never mention Gov. Kallen at all. That was such an impactful moment and they kind of side stepped it unfortunately
Trust or Forsake is missing which is also unfortunate
A lot of what made Wonderland interesting is either spedrun or absent so they kind of took the Wonder out of Wonderland
Taako giving up his beauty is also gone! Which sucks ass! My only true issue with this book that I genuinely was heartbroken over. I understand it can be a hard thing to show, especially when it runs the risk of someone in real life looking at the design and going "ow, that looks like me!'. So like. I get it. I really do. But they cut so much of Podcast!Taako's growth in Book!Taako's character that it was a sore spot for me personally.
If they let Johann live in the next book I will be very upset
SPEAKING OF NEXT BOOK!! Now that I have all my negative out of the way ohohoh boy I'm gonna share the positives I have with it. Given that, again, I view the books as separate story than the podcast, I thought they did a wonderful job overall. Solid 8/10 for me! Here are the things I am still screaming about
Things I adore about this book and will be living rent free in my head forever
TAAKO AND KRAVITZ KISS LIKE 5 PAGES IN AND I SCREAMED CAREY ATE WITH THAT
Merle's kids 😭😭😭
JOHANN IS ACKNOWLEDGED IN THIS ONE RAAAAAAAA I WAS SO WORRIED THEY WERE TRYING TO CUT HIM OUT
I love the redesign of Wonderland looking like a circus instead of a roulette wheel, I liked that a lot
Kravitz calling Taako to tell him to be safe,,, the call getting cut off,,,, pain
I loved the wheel it looked so cool
Edward and Lydia were giving Velvet and Veneer and I am HERE FOR IT
Heart Attack my beloved 🥰
ARMS OUTSTRETCHED!!!!!!!!
WHAT DO YOU MEAN TAAKO SAW KRAVITZ IN THE TAR??? WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE TRIED TO SAVE HIM?????? MCELROY FAMILY AND CAREY WHEN I GET YOU-
Seeing the umbra staff (*cough cough* Lup) BEAT THE SHIT out of Edward was lovely, no notes
HOW GRIFFIN DISAPPEARED!!! I WAS HOPING THEY WOULD DO THAT!!!
BLUEJEANS REVEAL
The Umbra Staff jumping into Barry's arms 😭😭😭
Taako having STATIC IN HIS EYES seeing the staff and Barry together CAREY PLEASE
MERLE SEEING JOHN, THIS IS NOT A DRILL PEOPLE
L U P SHE IS SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL I CRIED I AM SO GLAD THEY GAVE HER LONG HAIR TOO!!
GOD THE BOOK ENDED WHERE I WANTED IT TO AND THEN SOME ACTUALLY (I thought it would end with the line "Lucretia, what have you done???" BUT MAN I'M NOT MAD IT WENT ON A BIT LATER)
THE IPRE PAINTING. THEM. THEY. ALL OF THEM. I AM DYING. MY CROPS ARE WATERED AS SHIT.

I was thinking about Collector and remembered that episode from season one. It's similar but at the same quite different to what Collector is going through.
Both King and Collector just want to spend time playing with their best friend, but things seem to never go they way. They are trying to have fun and it doesn't work.
And even when they all are together they feel like they don't belong with the rest. The others seem to have so much fun together while they are being left out.
Also, in both cases a villain took notice of their insecurites and use them to manipulate them.
But despite all these similarities there are major differences between those situations. And the most important one is the motivation behind King and Collector's actions.
The problem that King was dealing with was that he wasn't anymore Luz's only friend on the Boiling Isles. At first it was just the three of them (with Eda being Luz's mentor, not equal) and now she was meeting more and more new people. King never had any close friends besides Luz so seeing her have less and less time for him was really difficult. King was scared of losing Luz to others.
King was jealous of Willow and Gus. That resulted in him wanting to separate them from Luz so that she could spend all her time with him. He wanted to have her all for himself.
That desire manifested in him being desparate to obtain friendship braceletes for them. He needed to have a proof that he is the most important person to Luz, that they really are best friends.
But in the end the end King learned that it's okay that Luz has other friends. This was represented in frienship braceletes spiliting into four parts. Because you don't have to have one friend, you can have three or more. They all can be friends with each other.
Meanwhile Collector's problem was that they never really had any friends. Archivists, Belos and even King just wanted to use them. Titans who were kind to him were gone. He never had a chance to learn how to play and be a good friend.
And from what we know it's safe to assume that their way of "playing" by turning people into puppets is something that they were taught by the Archivists.
Collector was jealous of Luz because she had exactly what they wanted. She came to the Boiling Isles and managed to gain trust and friendship of a lot of people. Collector had no idea how to do that.
And there was also her relationship with King. King was Collector's best friend, but Collector wasn't King's best friend. King didn't have any close friends before Luz came but Collector had no one (King at least had Eda). King was not only the most important person in their life, he was the only one they had. But Collector wasn't even close to being as important to King as he was to them.
But unlike King, Collector was never trying to keep King for himself. He doesn't even seem to be a person who would get jealous easily. They released Lilith from the spell and they didn't want to turn Eda into a puppet, instead wanting to convince her to join the game. He wasn't trying to separate King from the others. Because in the end they just wanted to be everyone's friend. They just didn't know how.
Both King and Collector know what it's like to feel unwanted and alone. They both know the feeling of wanting to spend time with a person that they consider to be their best friend, yet having trouble doing that. And they both know what it's like to feel unimportant to the person that is important to them. Although the circumstances and problems they were facing were quite different.
It turned out to be much bigger analysis that I expected, haha. At first I wanted to just point out similarities that I noticed (since King and Collector are very similar), but then I thought that if I'm comparing those episodes I can also take some time to look at the differences between them. So that would be it. Thank you for reading my thoughts!

I was thinking about Dandy's 'IMBI' fanfic suddenly, when a thought hit me: Why are the brother's given the senses that they are? Why is Mikey sight, Raph hearing, and Donnie touch?
I think it's subjective, and you can interpret it in any way you deem right, I just wanna put my two cents in. Of course, there's no way of me knowing if this is accurate to Dandy's vision or not, but let me know your own thoughts!
Let's go in order, shall we?
MIKEY
I think Mikey may have been the most difficult to crack, simply because I had no idea what it could represent for his and Leo's relationship. But then I realized, it's not about him and Leo, it's about him and everyone else.
Mikey's the youngest, he's the "baby", the little one, the happy go lucky 'everything's gonna be okay!' guy. His personality paired with his age makes his family baby him or chalk up his reactions to certain situations as him being naive.
But not Leo. Leo treated him like an equal, he's the annoying older brother Mikey looks up to and admires and wants to be like. To Mikey, Leo is his badass, awesome big brother, the only one who he feels doesn't baby him.
So with Leo out of the picture, who's gonna believe him when he says he's seeing the ghost of his presumably dead brother? No one. Because he's "naive".
And they don't believe him, so he and Leo have to PROVE that Leo's alive. And only THEN do they believe it. And, as happy as he is that they can now work on fixing Leo, it still hurts. Because they don't trust him, even though he's so strong as so capable and always razzes his tazz in the coolest ways, they don't trust him, because he's young and "in denial".
Also, Mikey and Leo are probably the most chaotic duo, so them being together so much due to everything previously stated is SO fun. Their interactions are immaculate.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think Raph and Donnie are fully at fault here. Considering Leo's circumstances, Mikey was very reckless during the car chase scene, and it made Leo's situation get worse a bit. However, they need Mikey. And Mikey and Leo have an undeniable advantage with Leo being able to walk through walls and warn them for any danger through Mikey. They want a second chance, to make things right, but Donnie and Raph still said no.
I don't blame anyone though, because it's more that their circumstance is difficult and no one knows what to do, what is right or wrong.
Mikey was given that second chance, though. His brother's recognized they needed him. They wanted to bench only Leo, but that blue boy wasn't staying behind no matter what lmao. Which leads us to...
RAPH
Raph's was a bit tricky but also incredibly obvious (I don't know how that works, just roll with it).
Raph and Leo aren't the best at communicating. They end up yelling at each other most of the time. Even with the curse, they still argued through Mikey.
And Leo breaking his promise to Raph on staying behind made Raph even MORE upset. Leo could have dissapeared, he could've been GONE forever, all because he was reckless and followed them despite promising he wouldn't.
But, Raph has to admit, without Leo, they would've been SO lost in that cave, and it was ultimately a good thing that he joined them, but it was still so scary. Who knows what could have gone wrong. He isn't mad at Leo, per se, he's just mad at the circumstances. He wants to keep Leo safe, because Leo is his brother. He's almost lost Leo TWICE, he wasn't going to risk actually losing him again. He didn't WANT to risk it. It's hard to keep Leo, hell, all his brother's safe when what's safe and what's right don't align.
As the eldest, he has to make that call, and it scares him. Leo keeps putting his own well-being down, he keeps putting himself in danger for them, and it scares Raph. It scares all of them.
Raph is frustrated, he lashes out, he hurts his brother's feelings when he only wants to keep him safe. He cares so much for Leo, and he wants what's best for him more than anything, but when Leo doesn't cooperate, it frustrates him.
They have a well needed talk about it, though, and it's very beautiful. Because Leo had just had a talk with Mikey about the exact same thing, about putting oneself in danger without thinking of the consequences, and he understands how Raph feels about it now. Regardless, Raph says he's proud of him, for doing the right thing, and he is.
Raph wants Leo to understand his perspective, how he feels, and once Leo does, it makes things so much easier.
DONNIE
Donnie's is pretty straight forward and DEFINITELY the easiest to understand (at least for me) but, basically...yeah it's because Donnie doesn't like touch, but I have more!
But yes, Donnie is touch repulsed. The best indicator of such is in the movie when Raph has to make it clear that he wasn't giving a hug, it was a rescue. There's more examples but you get the gist. However, there are plenty of times in the show when Donnie is shown being physically affectionate, which leads me to believe it's something that depends on his feelings during any given moment. If he feels like it, he'll be affectionate. And, you know, having his brother almost die and now be a ghost of sorts...yeah, he's not feeling great. Which is why I LOVE him being given touch. Throughout this whole fic, Leo is HEAVILY touch-starved. Bro's a GHOST, of course he is. And now Donnie is placed in a position in which he is quite literally his touch-starved brother's ONLY source of physical affection.
He and Leo had been very distant up until that point due to being unable to, you know, interact at all, and adding the fact that Donnie, in an emotionally bad state, doesn’t like physical affection when it's sudden or in general, it's incredibly interesting to give Donnie the one sense that he's uncomfortable with. He feels bad, because Leo wants to FEEL him and hug him, but he's not in a mental state to reciprocate. He shuts down when he's stressed. That scene where he shakes off Leo's hand after threatening the fire element. Augh, chills, literal chills.
Also. I dunno, but if my ghost brother who I've only known is a ghost for a little while, was suddenly able to touch me without me being able to see it coming...yeah I would be pretty freaked out too.
Also, I think the scene where Raph hugs Donnie is very interesting, because to Leo, it means that Donnie is okay with physical touch, as long as it's not HIM. Now, both feel bad. Donnie for not being able to reciprocate Leo's...(I don't want to say 'adances' because it sound weird but I've got nothing else), and Leo for, in his mind, being 'selfish' for wanting Donnie's affection.
This whole time, Leo was gone for Donnie. Mikey could see him, Raph could hear him, but him and Leo had no way of communicating by themselves.
Which makes that scene where they finally communicate and hug SO much more impactful. When Leo hugs him first, it showed Donnie that Leo wasn't gone, he was here, with him, and he wasn't mad at him. And then Leo got a hug back, he finally, FINALLY got one after two weeks of not being able to touch anything or anyone.
And now, Donnie isn't uncomfortable with Leo's touch. Because now he not only understands that Leo desperately needs affection and he's his only way of getting it, but also Leo isn't gone. He's here, and Donnie will hold him if it means he won't dissapear again. Gosh, I love me some Disaster Twins.
I think IMBI does an incredible job at really laying out all the brother's feelings and relationships with each other in such a beautiful way. Oh my god I love fanfiction.

Hi 🥰 I wanted to drop a mpreg suggestion if you were still looking for one ~ Even if I know that I will love any kind of story you will decide to write. I don't know if you know the manga "Sex Pistols". It would be interesting to see Shobbs and everyone else in a world like that. Where everyone has some kind of animal origin, and they could act a little like them in some situations. Like when there is attraction btw them. I could see Luke and Deck having some sort of rivalry but also so much sexual attraction that their animal instincts would bring them in bed together after many fights. And because in this universe mpreg is possible, Deckard could end up pregnant after one of these "fights". Just an idea xD sorry for the long ask 🥰
Hi friend! I haven't read that manga but it looks pretty cool! They def have some characters of a few animals already, so it fits Shobbs really well!
Usually when I give Shobbs animals that represent them, I normally go with cat!Deckard and dog!Luke, but I think I'll switch it around this time!
~~~
Luke bore his teeth and let a low growl escape him as he straightened his back, glaring down at Shaw. It wasn't an unusual sight.
Since Luke came from a family of lions, with many males, he was used to fighting and establishing dominance. So, when he and Shaw were asked to work together, safe to say, they didn't get along all that well.
"Wanna say that again, princess?" Luke's voice was like gravel.
"You're an imbecile," Deckard hissed back. "You're gonna get this crew killed."
Luke's nostrils glared. He didn't take crap from anyone, no matter what animal their family was. The Shaws acted all high and mighty with their wolf background, but Luke was going to show Deckard who was boss.
This was far from the first time they had butt heads and it wouldn't be the last.
Normally, someone else would pull them apart before any real damage was dealt, but there was nobody today. They were the only ones in the vast garage, the rest of the crew having gone to rest before the mission. Deckard had cornered Luke before he could do the same.
Only to tear into him.
"I don't know who you think you are, but you're not the one giving the orders around here. Dom trusts me with his people and I won't let any of them get hurt."
"Maybe not intentionally," Deckard snapped. "This plan is gonna get someone killed, you buffoon!"
Deckard had shoved his face only a few inches away from Luke, his last insult spraying spit into his face.
That was the last straw.
His growl was Deckard's only warning before he lunged.
If Luke truly had claws, he'd already have dug them into Deckard's chest and torn the man to shreds. But, as things stood, all he could do was punch and hit.
Deckard was faster, dodging or blocking his hits, and continued to roll them on the garage's concrete floor.
"You bloody-!"
"Fuck you!"
Animalistic growls and snarls sounded through the wide space, both men losing themselves to the fight and letting their animal side take over.
They're rolling had them crashing into a large tool box and separating them. Deckard tried to scramble to his feet, but Luke grabbed his ankle just in time.
"Shit!" Deckard yelped before falling face first to the ground again. He barely caught himself but Luke didn't let him recover.
Pulling on the smaller man's leg, Luke dragged Deckard back towards him. In a flash, Luke was on top of Deckard.
With one hand, he pinned Deckard's wrists above his head while his other hand shoved Deckard's face into the dirty floor.
"Yield!" Luke spat.
"Go fuck yourself!"
The defiance triggered something inside Luke. He would make Deckard submit.
Without a second thought, Luke leaned down and bit down harshly where Deckard's neck met shoulder.
Blood exploded into Luke's mouth when he finally realized what he had just done.
He could feel Deckard going extremely stiff under him, only a tiny gasp coming from him.
Slowly, Luke released his jaw and pulled back. He cringed at the large bit mark bleeding sluggishly.
Below him, Deckard was panting as if he had run a marathon.
Opening his mouth to apologize, Luke stopped when Deckard shoved his body upwards.
Specifically shoving his ass against Luke's crotch.
"Well?" Deckard turned his head to look at Luke. "You gonna finish what you started?"
Luke gave him a bloody smile.
---
Many of their fights ended like this. However, Luke had noticed that the actual fighting part had been diminishing gradually.
At first, fists had been thrown, but soon they were only exchanging heat words before jumping each other's bones.
Luke would be lying if he said he wasn't enjoying himself.
---
Ever since Deckard had rescued Baby Brian, he had been spending more time with the crew. They were an odd group of people, all of them different but getting along well enough.
Even if he and Deckard continued to argue and have sex like a married couple.
The crew was spending an afternoon at Dom and Letty's, watching the kids play on a slip-and-slide.
Luke had been relieved that Sam didn't mind hanging out with the younger kids instead of some her own age. So lost in enjoying her laughter, he almost didn't notice Deckard walking up to him.
"Can we talk?"
Instantly, Luke knew Deckard was serious. No joking insults or jabs at him.
Following him inside, they were alone in a guest bedroom when Deckard turned to him, his face twisted in an uncertain expression.
"What's wrong, Deck?"
"I'm pregnant."
Luke stared.
Then his eyes went down to Deckard's stomach. He could barely make out a small bump.
"How do you feel about that?" Luke asked carefully.
"I'm keeping it."
Luke hadn't expected the near hostile tone as Deckard squared his shoulders and glared at him.
Slowly, a smile spread across Luke's face.
"Let's just hope they're ready to be part of my pride."
Relief flashed across Deckard's face before it disappeared and he scoffed at Luke.
"They'll be joining the pack, you mean."
"We'll see, princess."
Stepping close to the smaller man, Luke stared down at him. Keeping his movements gentle, he cupped Deckard's quickly reddening face.
"You're going to be a great parent."
Deckard blushed harshly before he grabbed Luke's face back and smashed their lips together.
Luke swore that if Deckard actually had a tail, it'd be wagging nonstop.
~~~
Thanks for the request friend!!!

roots of my tree
Rating: T Characters: Fingon | Findekano, Maedhros | Maitimo Relationships: Maedhros/Fingon, fem!Maedhros/Fingon Additional: Formenos era, Romance, Elopement WC: 3k
Maitimë ducks into the treeline, finally out of the sight of anyone at Formenos, and breathes a sigh of relief when she sees Findekáno there waiting for her.
His face splits into a smile like sunshine when he sees her. “Russë, you made it! I was starting to worry.”
She darts forward to hug him tightly. “Of course I made it; it’s been far too long since I’ve seen you. I was starting to go made up here without you.”
He hugs her back, pressing his face into her shoulder, and then pulls back just enough to kiss her. She’s missed that, too.
“Tell me about Tirion,” she says eventually, when they’ve pulled away long enough to curl up together at the base of a tree. His head leans on her shoulder, and she rests her cheek on his hair. “What’s been going on, since the last you told me?”
“Not a lot, lately,” Findekáno admits. “Politically, things have mostly gone back to normal, now that it’s been a while since the...incident and everyone’s adjusted to having a new king. Everyone else, at least; I’m still not used to it.”
Maitimë hums in response. One heated argument in the immediate aftermath notwithstanding, she and Findekáno have made their peace on this front. It helps that, though she would never say so, she suspects that Nolofinwë might, just possibly, be the better king, and that her father wants the day-to-day governance duties of the crown less than he wants what it represents, not the least of which is his own father’s highest love that everyone else already knows he has.
“People are still worried about Melkor,” Findekáno continues, “but they’re trying to worry very quietly. Nobody wants to believe something could actually go truly wrong.”
Maitimë is silent for a moment, and then, “Atar has been talking more lately about leaving here and crossing back to Endórë.”
That gets Findekáno’s attention, making him sit up sharply. “He wouldn’t really, though,” he says, not with much conviction.
“I think he would,” Maitimë says, letting her unhappiness with this state of affairs show like she can’t in Formenos.
“Now, though?” Findekáno presses. “When no one knows where Melkor is? It would be more dangerous than ever.”
Maitimë signs. “Atar...does not trust the Valar to keep us safe here,” she says quietly. Then, “I wouldn’t truly mind the danger, and I think the rest might even be an interesting challenge. But...”
“What?”
“If Atar takes us across the Sea, you and I could be separated, if you weren’t able to find a way to come along somehow,” Maitimë says, not looking at him. “If we left suddenly enough, there might not even be the chance to say goodbye.”
Findekáno sucks in a breath as he considers this. “But you’ve got some kind of plan for if that happens, right? Or you will soon?” he asks.
“I...not yet.” Maitimë grimaces. “I’ve been thinking about it, but everything I think of has too many things that could go wrong.”
Findekáno hesitates. “Russë...don’t take this the wrong way...but could you just not go with them if it came to it?”
Maitimë bites her lip hard. “Maybe. It would be possible. But then I would never see any of them again, Finno.” As much as she may have wished to have space from her brothers in the past, the thought of being sundered from them forever, especially Káno, cuts at her. She would do it if it were the only way to not lose Findekáno, but it would be hard and terrible.
Because he knows her, he knows this, and doesn’t press. They’ve already talked about the other side of the coin, him leaving his family. He maintains that his father would take the family across the Sea with the right motivation, such as the need to follow his eldest son. Maitimë, on the other hand, knows there is nothing at all that would keep her father in Aman if he were to decide to leave.
“There is one other thing we could do,” Findekáno says suddenly, with the tone and expression Maitimë recognizes to mean that he’s just had some mad and daring idea. “We could get married.”
Maitimë nearly chokes on air, even as a swell of deep wanting sweeps through her.She has dreamed of such a thing for years, and to hear it mentioned so casually and as such an immediate thing...! But she still feels compelled to point out, “We might not have time. With the betrothal and the rings and organizing everything - and that’s assuming they’d let us --”
“Russë,” Findekáno says, cutting her off gently with a hand cupping her jaw. “We don’t need any of that to get married. Under any other circumstances, I would love to, because you deserve it all, but like you said, we probably don’t have time. And if we elope...our fëar will be linked, Russë. You can let me know if you’re about to leave suddenly and I’ll come.”
That makes Maitimë pause. It’s a good point. Ordinary ósanwë only has so much range, even for the most powerful, and they already know it won’t stretch from Tirion to Formenos. But a marriage bond...that would do it. Even so, “I don’t want to marry you just for a practical reason,” she says slowly. “That’s not fair to either of us.”
“It’s not,” Findekáno agrees. “But neither is any of this. Believe me, Russë, I want to do every tradition, every ceremony, to show all of Eldalië what you mean to me. But more than that, I want ot not wake up one morning and find you’ve gone across the Sea without me.”
“I don’t want that either,” Maitimë assures. A moment later, “Would we keep it secret? Would we even be able to, with the bond showing in our eyes?” Even as she speaks, she realizes she’s talking as if they’ve settled on the actual idea of eloping, and now only need to work out the details.
This is exactly how she and Findekáno used to get into trouble as children in Tirion: he would have a mad idea, she would inevitably start planning out how they would actually do it, and they would take turns sweet-talking themselves out of the ire of the adults.
“I can get away with not making prolonged eye contact for a little while, at least, before anyone notices,” Findekáno says thoughtfully. “And I’ll try to make excuses to get out of the city altogether when I can - I already have been, to see you. It can’t be that long before your father makes his move, if he’s going to.”
Maitimë nods. “I think I can make it work. The ones most likely to find out are my brothers, and I can probably make them keep quiet if I have to.” Except for Curufinwë, but he doesn’t meet her eyes much anyway. “And if it does come out...”
“Then we can start making the case for you to bring me along to Endórë,” Findekáno finishes. “It works out either way.”
Maitimë takes a deep breath. “I suppose that just leaves where and when.”
Findekáno looks up thoughtfully. “How easy to you suppose it would be to sneak into your bedroom window between the Mingling and Telperion waxing?”
Maitimë considers the house, and considers the feats she’s seen Findekáno pull off. “It would be tricky,” she says eventually, “but I think you could do it. The stonework and vines on that part of the house are climbable enough. I got back in that way once, when I’d stayed away too late with you, and you’re a better climber than I am.”
Findekáno nods. “Then maybe tonight?” he says. “Before I have to go back to Tirion. I can sneak in and...”
“And,” Maitimë agrees. Her mind is already running through weddings she’s attended, sorting out which parts are necessary, which parts are extra but can be done in some fashion quietly in her room, just the two of them, and which parts they’ll have to dispense with. She shifts to kiss Findekáno lightly. “In that case, I’d better head back now. The less suspicion I draw now, the more we’ll be able to get away with later.”
Findekáno kisses her back and then lets her go, his smile blinding. “I’ll see you then, Russë,” he promises, and then she has to tear herself away and hurry back to Formenos.
She needs to get ready.
- - -
Findekáno hauls himself up the last few feet, grabs the windowsill, and scrambles up and into Russandol’s room. His breath catches.
The room itself isn’t that different from what he saw of Russandol’s room in Tirion: neat, organized, decorated with red and gold hangings and carefully drawn maps. But Russandol is standing in the middle of it, waiting for him in the glow of a few lightstones, her hair unbraided and falling to her waist, seeming to glow faintly herself in white robes. Findekáno, who has spent the day traveling and then lurking in the woods, feels rather underprepared by contrast, not to mention a mess.
“Russë,” he breathes. Then, brushing ineffectually at his clothes. “I’m not...can I...there’s probably no way for me to sneak around and bathe without getting caught--”
“I don’t mind,” she says, then at a look from him, “I can fetch a few things. If you want.”
Five minutes with a basin of water and some soap and a rag behind Russandol’s changing screen isn’t ideal and doesn’t feel like nearly enough, but it helps somewhat, and gives him a chance to collect himself. He’s going to marry Russandol. Tonight. Right now. It’s rushed and furtive and not what they ought to have, but maybe when things are calmer they can do a full ceremony for everyone else. For now, they’ll work with what they have.
He brushes off his robes one more time, runs a hand over his braids, and emerges from behind the screen. “So how are we doing this?” he asks. “I know you have a plan.”
Turukáno likes to tell him smugly sometimes that someday he’ll do something reckless and foolish and Russandol won’t be there with her strategies and plans to back him up. But that day isn’t today, from the way she squares her shoulders.
“The only things we need for an official marriage are for us to both make a vow in the name of the One, and...join our bodies.” She glances away from him at the last part, color rising along her cheekbones. “Obviously our parents aren’t involved, so we might want to do the invoking of Manwë and Varda ourselves, just in case. And about rings...”
“I’m going to give you a ring,” Findekáno declares. In between rounds of pacing in the woods, he’d worked out exactly which of the rings he was wearing would do, and blessed whoever had first made it fashionable among the Noldor to wear so very much jewelry at all times. He pulls at the gold ring engraved with a pattern of maple leaves on his little finger. “You don’t have to if you’d rather not...”
Russandol fumbles with something on her desk. “No, I mean, I picked one to give to you.” She holds out her hand, revealing a gold ring etched with stars - surprisingly, not all eight-pointed. “It’s yours if you want it.”
“How could I not,” Findekáno says fervently, and takes the ring from her so he can press his own into her palm. “I can get you a better one than that later if you want, one that’s made for you...”
“This is perfect,” Russandol insists. She slides the ring onto the fourth finger of her right hand, where it fits exactly. Findekáno hastens to do the same with his new one. Then he takes a deep breath and steps forward to take Russandol’s hands in his.
“You’d better start,” he says, his mouth dry. “You’re older; that’s how it works, right?”
Russandol nods and clears her throat. “I, Nelyafinwë Maitimë Fëanáriel, called Russandol,” she says quietly, “do hereby pledge myself body and soul to Findekáno Astaldo Nolofinwion. This swear I: love I will give him all our days, faith unto world’s end. My word hear thou, Eru Ilúvatar! On the holy mountain hear in witness and my vow remember, Manwë and Varda!”
Findekáno’s pulse is pounding in his ears. He takes a second to make sure he can breathe, and then begins. “I, Findekáno Astaldo Nolofinwion, do hereby pledge myself body and soul to Nelyafinwë Maitimë Fëanáriel, my Russandol. This swear I: love I will give her all our days, faith unto world’s end. My word hear thou, Eru Ilúvatar! On the holy mountain hear in witness and my vow remember, Manwë and Varda!”
He swears he can feel Russandol’s spirit blaze out from her, and she looks at him as though he’s shining like the Trees.
She moves, or he does, and then they’re kissing, slowly at first and then with greater fervor and fierceness. He’s felt Russë’s spirit close to the surface before in moments like this, but now he swears he can feel her like a fire in the back of his mind, nearer than ever.
He wants more, wants to not know where either of them begins or ends. In the morning, he has to go back to Tirion, without her, and be separated for who knows how long. But it’s not morning yet, and they can make the most of the time they have now.
Maybe it’s a growing sense of Russandol’s thoughts, or maybe it’s just her hands starting to run up under his shirt, but he knows she is thinking the same way.
- - -
Maitimë wakes up warm, with the feeling of starlight in the back of her mind.
She shifts, and discovers that the warmth is from a body curled against hers. Her eyes fly open, revealing Findekáno beside and partially under her - she’d ended up laying her head on his chest. His heartbeat thuds steadily in her ear, pulsing slowly in time with the starlight in her mind.
Memory comes flooding in, along with her body reminding her of some particular details. She comes awake more fully, wonder and joy expanding in her chest. Findekáno is married to her. They’re married. No one can ever take them away from each other now.
He shifts, and then blinks awake, and she can both see and feel the moment of confusion as to where he is before he remembers fully and the starlight in her mind flares jubilantly.
Russë my Russë my wife, she hears him think, and it’s too much; she has to kiss the smile off his lips.
He kisses back warmly, and when they break apart his fingers keep running through her hair.
“Good morning,” he says with a grin.
The best morning, Maitimë thinks, and knows when he’s picked up on the thought by the way he lights up.
Best of all mornings so far, he thinks back. Then, aloud, “How much time do we have? I want to braid your hair.”
Maitimë nestles against him, turning her head to give him slightly better, if crooked, access. “Mm. Braid away.”
“I want to braid it,” Findekáno continues, “and then make a mess of it, even more than last night, until it all comes loose again, until my braids start to come undone and you have to help me redo them, and then I’ll do your hair again, something beautiful, something you couldn’t have possibly done yourself, to make everyone wonder.”
Maitimë shifts to peer up at him. “That sounds like it could take all morning. Longer.”
“That was the idea--”
A rapid knocking at the door cuts him off. “Nelyë? Are you up?” Makalaurë calls out. “Breakfast is going to be soon. Is everything all right?”
Maitimë freezes, simultaneously startled and intensely grateful that at least Makalaurë has the decency to not just barge into her room. “I just overslept, Káno,” she calls back. “I’ll be down in a moment. No need to worry.”
She hears his footsteps retreat, and huffs out a sign, letting her head fall back against the pillow. “I suppose that means our time is up,” she mutters.
Findekáno hums reluctant agreement. “I would hide up here to wait for you, but...”
“But you need to get back to Tirion,” Maitimë says. Beside her, Findekáno sits up, stroking a hand back and forth over her shoulder. She feels the metallic smoothness of the ring against her skin.
“I’ll sneak back as soon as I can,” he promises. “And we have the bond now; we can’t truly be separated. It’ll be all right, Russë.”
She nods glumly, and watches as he gets up and starts hunting for his clothes. A few moments later, she makes herself get up and start getting ready for the day as well.
Someday, she thinks, they’ll be able to do this at the beginning of a day they get to actually spend together, out in the open.
Findekáno’s braids are still intact, but once Maitimë has brushed out her hair he quickly plaits half of it into a crown. When it’s done, she turns into his arms and they hold each other silently for a moment.
Then, reluctantly, they pull away, with one more quick kiss between them, and he backs towards the windowsill. It’s already a while past the Mingling; she only hopes he can make it out without being spotted.
“Goodbye, Finno,” she murmurs.
“Not goodbye really,” he counters, tapping his temple. “Just - I’ll see you before long, Russë.”
“See you,” Maitimë echoes, and then he’s over the edge of the windowsill and gone.
She waits for a moment or two, missing him already. Then she straightens her back and turns to head downstairs, starlight glowing comfortingly in the back of her mind.

hi peach...
i don't know if you've heard about the scandals with deepfake porn in sk, which is really just a tip of the iceberg of many things. the state of things are horrible for women. the male population are pretty much horrible, and i know that is a generalizing statement but the statistics agree. womens position in korean society is seriously not good. and i don't want to make this about myself. but i don't know how i can continue to support bts. yes, on one hand, there is nothing that shows that these men are like that, and most things show that they are good people. and i would never even think these things about them if it werent for the things i have read. but they are also very protected, and are meant to be portrayed in positive light. i just mean, even though i feel that i can trust them, i also can't? but i don't want to judge them for things they haven't done. i don't know why i am sending this to you, i know you probably don't have the answers. but i like reading your blog and i am especially invested in tk even though i like all of bangtan. i know that we know very little. it just scares me. i know that i have to accept that we can not know for sure, but how do i continue to support them then? but my life would feel so empty without them, i don't think i could stop supporting them either because my heart does not believe these things about them. i just don't know how to justify it to myself when i read about these women suffering, i want to help and support them and if supporting male idols isn't then... i don't know. i know i probably shouldn't invest so much in these artists that i don't know, but i can't help it... if something ever came out about them, i don't think i could take it.. what are your thoughts on this, and maybe your followers too? thank you
<3
I am so sorry this has affected you this way. I think your concerns are valid - ultimately we shouldn't be placing any person we don't personally know on a pedestal, man nor woman.
The first thing my wife said to me when I said I was getting Tae tattooed on my arm was "What if he turns out to be a bad person?" and I did have a think about it. Like all I actually know him is what I value in him. That stuff isn't for nothing. I think it's very human to gravitate towards traits in people that feel familiar, help you feel seen, make you feel good, give you that dopamine. But you do need to consider there's always a possibility.
(In the end I decided to go ahead with tattoo anyway. It's not photorealistic, it's a photoshoot that represents something I've been into a lot longer than BTS, etc)
The advice I have is make their humanity your baseline. My baby army observation is that we're not very good at treating these guys like humans even when they haven't done anything wrong. We expect perfection, we expect they share their whole brain with us, we expect a lot from them that is highly unreasonable to expect.
Accepting they're human as a baseline means you're less surprised when they behave like humans who make mistakes, who are flawed and imperfect, who probably have darkness in them like everyone does. And if they should have committed a crime you find abhorrent, you're not losing the idol love of your life.. you're cutting loose a human.
Of course this is easier said than done. I fully admit BTS, especially TKK, are a huge source of dopamine for my depressed ass. If I had to cut them off for any reason, it would suck! I would be so sad. That feeling is ok too.
Think about JK R0wling. Nearly every single queer I know personally was once a Harry Potter OBSESSIVE. I know about eight lesbians with a Deathly Hallows tattoo. And she has let our community down. She has gone all in on a hate campaign against us to the point where I have gently held my gender questioning child, with a non-binary mama, by the shoulders in a shop and explained softly that I would never be buying him Harry Potter pyjamas he wanted because "the person who created this is an open and active bully." And do you know what? It's fine. My son is fine. I am fine.
If I said to the much younger Peach who idolised her that one day the sight of her would make us feel sick, much younger Peach would have been devastated and disbelieving. But you know what? It has been remarkably easy to get over it. My life is actually missing nothing as a result of getting rid of a deeply abhorrent author who was once my world.
All eight lesbians have got or are in the process of getting them covered or removed. And they're fine too.
So that's what if they HAD done something.
But the thing to remember... is that they haven't. And it's still ok to enjoy them right now! This Yoongi situation probably hasn't helped because I think I'm feeling overanxious about stuff like this too. You can only act on facts though. Half the criticism they receive online is just people making stuff up.
The Nth room stuff was wrapped up in 2020. They weren't on lists then. The new Telegram stuff is an ongoing investigation. They have not been arrested. This doesn't mean there's no way BTS have ever been involved. It just means based on the facts, we have nothing untoward to go on.
If "protected" is an indicator of maybe there's shady dealings going on, then every film, every piece of music, every TV show, every book has a connection to shady stuff. Art exists to get us through hard times, not to make things worse. That's why it sucks so much when artists DO let us down. Because they take away a piece of something we need to be happy. Music, art, film, literature.
You can't live like that, anon. You're doing the right thing by educating yourself, by believing victims, by being appalled by this. I know many people who simply don't become so affected by this stuff that they even think about it beyond the article they read and a few more who would laugh it off. You are on the right side of history. Think what your care means to people who've been abused. In a world where people do not listen to women, you're saying you hear them and you see them. That does actually mean something.
But please protect your spirit - you need to be able to sing, and look at pictures and watch films. You're not doing the wrong thing to still enjoy things right now when the world is in the dumpster. There's nothing to suggest BTS have been involved... so stick with facts.
Anxiety is ruling our collective mind at the moment, I think, and though she's helpful in small doses, Anxiety is a bitch in big doses. Letting Joy take control is not naivete. It's strength.
I don't know who you are but I am sending you so much love, anon.

Born To Die- Chapter 7
Chapter summary: time to get ready for the mission
A/N: the boys might finally pull their heads out of their ass
Everyone stood in one room aboard the aircraft carrier. It was time for Pete to announce who would be flying with him. Tension blanketed the room, fear and excitement battling it out. It was a once in a lifetime kind of mission, but it was also a mission damn near guaranteed to get them all killed.
“It has been an honor flying with you,” Pete spoke to the group of pilots all standing in formation, “Each one of you represents the best of the best. This is a very specific mission. My choice is a reflection of that and nothing more.”
“Choose your two foxtrot teams,” Admiral Simpson instructed.
“Medusa and Tinkerbell, Phoenix and Bob,” Pete announced. The four all made eye contact, a bit surprised, a bit terrified, and maybe a bit excited.
“And your wingman?” Admiral Simpson asked.
“Rooster,” Pete responded, almost to the shock of everyone else. One stark thought came to Allison’s mind, ‘Thank god it’s not Jake’. It wasn’t cause she didn’t trust him, but Allison had been unconciously terrified at the thought of Jake flying this mission and not making it home.
“The rest of you will stand by on the carrier,” Admiral Bates instructed, “for any reserve role that’s required. Dismissed.”
They all filtered out of the room. Allison and Erin grouped up with Natasah and Robert, the four of them exchanging congratulations. A couple of the other members of their detachment fist bumped them on the way out. There was one more brief the next day that they all attended before it was time to fly their mission.
But the night before was their last chance to spend time as one detachment before the very real possibility of losing one of their own became a reality.
Erin hesitated for a moment before deciding to just say fuck it and knock on Bradley and Bob’s shared door. She knew Bob and Phoenix were in the mess hall but she hadn’t seen Bradley, which was best because she wanted to get him alone. No one to get in the middle of their business.
The door swung open to reveal the taller pilot, “Erin? What are you doing here?”
“Can you braid my hair? Like we used to do before my softball games?” Erin asked softly, trying no to show how afraid she was, “I know you and I haven’t talked much but… I could do with some calm right now.”
Bradley doesn’t respond, but he does open his door wider. A silent invitation for Erin to step in, which she takes gratefully, Without speaking, Bradley sits at the edge of his bunk and Erin perches herself on the floor but between his legs. She slips her hair tie off her wrist and passes it to Bradley. Bradley gently tilts her head back and begins the braid, twisting the strands over each other to form a neat french braid. Something Erin’s mom had taught him once when he had asked what she was doing with Erin’s hair one afternoon. Back before anything had ever gone wrong between them.
“Have you talked with Mav at all?” Erin decides to try her luck at getting Bradley to open up to her. Bradley’s hands paused, small pieces starting to slip. Before her braid can get too messy he regains his bearings and fixes it.
“No,” Bradley says, his voice barely loud enough for Erin to hear. She can feel the stubbornness coming off her childhood friend in waves. God knows him and Maverick were always too stubborn for their own good.
“Okay,” Erin says softly, deciding that pushing the issue wasn’t the way to go that night. They could talk more when they made it back from the mission… if they made it back from the mission.
“I’m sorry about Ice,” Bradley says after another minute of silence.
“Thanks,” Erin responds, tears pricking at her eyes at the thought of her uncle.
“I wish I could’ve… would’ve been there for you more,” Bradley admits, his hands shaking slightly as he braids her hair, “I can’t imagine the past years have been easy for you…”
“They really haven’t,” Erin responds, wiping away tears, “But I have Allie, and Neil, and Callie. They’ve been there through everything…”
“Everything I haven’t,” Bradley finishes her sentence, “I’m sorry, Erin. I should’ve reached out, should’ve answered your calls…”
“Bradley, stop,” Erin puts a hand up, “We can’t change the past and focusing on it won’t help us. When we get back from this mission we’ll talk, okay?”
“Okay,” Bradley agrees, tying the braid off with practiced ease. Erin took a chance and turned to hug Bradley. He seemed to be caught off guard, but hugged her back all the same. Everything would be okay, Erin felt sure of it.
—
The next morning after their briefing, Allison and Erin were walking out to their plane to do one last check. The girls were chatting quietly, trying to keep their minds off the impending mission. They were honored to be chosen, yet both terrified at the prospect of dying on this mission.
“Medusa,” the voice of Jake Seresin called after the two. Erin made eye contact with Allison who just gestured for her to continue to their plane while Allison turned to talk to Jake.
“Hangman,” Allison made eye contact, looking at him expectantly.
“Be safe up there,” Jake told her, “And…”
“What, Jake?” Allison asked, her expression softening.
“Just… give 'em hell, alright?” Jake responded. It was obvious that wasn’t what he wanted to say, but she didn’t have enough time to figure out what he really wanted.
“I will,” Allison told him, “Besides, I’ve got you on my six if anything goes wrong.”
“Don’t let it go wrong,” Jake looked serious, almost as if he was pleading with her to make it home safely. She just nodded and gave him one last smile before turning around and catching up with Erin.

The World Tumbles Down Chapter 3
This chapter was a fun one. I’ve said before that I never wanted to lose the fun and lighthearted moments that this series was built off of and this chapter was really my way of doing that.
Splitting the group up was something I decided on right before I started writing chapter 1. I think splitting the group this way allows for some interesting dynamics.
Getting Echo off of the Negotiator and away from Rex (I’m so sorry Rex he needs space 😭) was really the only way to let him not only get a break but also make up with Cody. The hurt he feels in regard to Cody isn’t gone but it sure is on a stable path to repairing. Part of that progress is the space. He was trusted to lead and to make decisions and he was even able to fall back into old patterns with people who bring out a softer and coincidentally more chaotic part of himself.
Waxer and Boil knew Echo from before the Citadel. They are able to pinpoint a different kind of relationship than the batch can and it lets Echo live in a place outside of the current problem. Crosshair and Wrecker are full of chaos and dramatics but they’re also playful and protective and they listen. Echo thrives here, finds some confidence and healing here, because everyone around him is letting him do what he does best. They trust his judgment. They work with him in a way that feels casual but also respectful. It doesn’t matter that they banter or pick at each other they know he’s making good decisions.
This trust in his judgment was necessary for him.
Cody and Obi-Wan. Ah. This lovely pair. They aren’t listening to each other. They’re frustrated. They’re lacking trust in each other. It almost gets Obi-Wan killed. He’s distracted, he’s pushing Cody away (physically and emotionally) and in his attempts to keep Cody safe he almost gets himself killed.
Cody picking up the lightsaber has happened a few times throughout the fic and it won’t be the last. Obi-Wan has to learn to trust his life in Cody’s hands and that will eventually happen. For now it’s Cody taking the reins and powering forward even when he doesn’t know where they stand. He picks up the lightsaber. He saves Obi-Wan. He proves himself to a man who is not yet ready to accept that moving forward doesn’t mean either pushing Cody away or grasping so tight he loses his way. He can’t see a middle ground but he will. For now he’s keeping all his cards to his chest and letting Cody flounder for footing. Cody doesn’t get a choice because Obi-Wan has made one for him.
This idea of lack of choice is going to come up a lot in this fic. Since it is an Order 66 fix it I wanted to keep agency and trust as pretty solid through lines. Cody and Obi-Wan represent a big part of this but the main thread is Echo and Rex. We'll get to see more of this in the next chapter where I'll talk about those two.
The normalcy is very much needed in chapter three. There’s something gratifying about taking down an enemy they understand. I hate to tell you this but these few chapters are the calm before the storm. It's about to get reallllll dicey and none of them are really ready for it. I'm going to earn that Crosshair Whump tag 😉

First time watching ToH S2E3 (Echoes of the Past). Thoughts below:
Detailed thoughts:
Hoo boy, what an episode! This episode finally gives all the information that I’ve wanted to know about King since the start of the show.
This episode was King’s worst nightmare made manifest. Imagine if your best friend admitted to never believing in the person that you told them you are, the person you earnestly believe yourself to be. Then, the one person that you’ve known for your entire life, the one person that could validate who you are, reveals that your best friend was right not to believe you: that everything you thought you knew about yourself was a lie.
This entire time, the people closest to you, the people that you love and love you in return, have just been playing along w/ this fantasy that you thought was real. At no point did they ever accept you for who you said you were. All that trust gone in an instant. Your whole world falls beneath you, leaving you w/ nothing in an emotional free fall.
Being the King of Demons has been King’s entire identity up until this point, and one that he’s held onto vehemently. It’s been alluded to time and again, but King has always felt like a nobody. Everyone else that King has ever met has only seen him for his appearance: a cute pet, not something, not even someone, to be taken seriously. The idea that King is actually the King of Demons is so important to him because it means that he is someone special.
That dissonance between how King thinks he should be treated, or rather, how he wants to be treated, and how people actually treat him has been a constant source of insecurity for King. It’s the reason why King desperately clings to any form of praise or validation that he comes across, even at the expense of his friends. To King, it represents finally becoming someone that people look up to and respect, whether as the King of Demons, a best-selling author, or as lowly as the King of the Scareground.
All of this is in keeping w/ the series’ overarching theme of identity and self-discovery. Like Eda and Lilith, King loses a key part of his identity and is forced to contend w/ how he sees himself. I imagine Luz, who also feels like a nobody and has that same desire to be somebody, might go through a similar process if she returns to the human world and is forced to relinquish her current identity as a witch.
One last note on King’s backstory. I think King really is the King of Demons. In my notes while watching the episode, I theorized that King was actually the son of the then Ruler of Demons. That theory has only been reinforced by the rest of the episode, w/ King living alone in a castle w/ creatures that serve and protect him, surrounded by murals of a figure that resembles him, with the lingering memory of someone calling him son.
At the very least, King is a prince of demons. If his parent is dead, however, by virtue of inheritance, King might actually be the King of Demons right now. Perhaps we will meet King’s parent alive and they’ll pass the crown onto him (possibly dying shortly afterword in one sacrificial act of love). Either way, if King does turn out to be the King of Demons, or becomes it, then perhaps King will be able to use his title to rally demons against Belos in the show’s finale.
General thoughts:
We’re opening the episode w/ past Eda. It looks like sometime has passed since she was cursed (she has long nails, a fang, greying hair, and of course, Owlbert c:).
Luz is experimenting w/ her glyphs. Based on her notes, it looks like glyphs can represent more abstract properties that can be drawn upon depending how they’re placed (assuming that her notes are accurate).
I’m amazed at Luz’s circle drawing skills.
Francois w/ a knife! Francois w/ a knife!
Lilith is going a little too hard on learning about glyphs.
Lulu and Hootsifer c:
Invisibility glyph!
King’s reaction ;-;
So Lilith was the EC’s “lead historical scholar.” Is that what got her into the EC? Her magical ability combined w/ her practical knowledge? Or did Lilith just out herself as a nerd?
I love this! All the characters just hanging out and interacting w/ each other.
It’s been a long time coming but we’re finally getting follow up on King’s backstory.
So Luz doesn’t believe King about his past either.
I really want to know if/when we’ll get Eaglebert’s actual name.
Oh... I don’t like that. Porta-Hooty is cute, but... I don’t like the pulsating hole in the door. Doesn’t Hooty still have legs underneath the house, or was that just part of the Moonlight Conjuring spell?
So heading off to his castle is something King regularly does?
Just assuming that King’s story is true, did Eda head out to find King to see if he could undo her curse, or did the two just stumble upon each other after King was cursed too?
“Wriggle, wriggle, wriggle!”
I love Lilith. From one nerd to another!
Love love love the all character interactions in this episode!
If King was the King of Demons, then he must have ruled long ago if the ruins are so ancient. King must have been cursed for an equally long time if that is true.
Alternate crackpot theory: King wasn’t actually the King of Demons, but his son. He’s the King of Demons now after his father’s disappearance. If that is the case, then Prince Jr.’s name would make a little more sense.
Appleblood is alcoholic?
Loving this music!
Baby King! Broken horn! :c
King’s having a nervous breakdown. ;_;
Alex Hirsch is putting their heart and soul into his performance and it’s breaking me up inside seeing King like this.
“Boop.” c:
Hooty only gets more awesome!
Dismemberment!
Are those potsherds, or egg shells?
Was that creature made to guard King? Is that why King was making those stone statutes that looked like it? Is that why King was living in the tower w/ getting attacked? Because it was protecting him?
So did King’s horns stay the same size, or did the broken horn get bigger? I’m confused.
Missing parent plotline, engage!
Oh, King’s keeping his broken horn from now on!
Jean Luc!
So everyone’s getting in on the mystery for King’s sake!

When They Call You During Run BTS Filming ~ BTS Reaction
Jin:
As you picked up the phone, you heard Jin tell everyone to be quiet. “Y/N, what’s your favourite song of ours?” Jin asked you, without even saying hello.
“I quite like Boy with Luv,” you replied to Jin, hearing plenty of commotion in the background, “why are you asking me that so suddenly, what’s going on?”
Jin stepped aside so that he could talk to you quietly, “for the episode, we have to guess people’s favourite things.”
“I’m sure that there are plenty of other songs of yours that your fans like though,” you quickly told Jin, not wanting him to use your answer to represent everyone.
The boys had already gone for it though, “Boy with Luv is a popular song, we’re going to trust you and pick that as the fan’s favourite too.”
“Don’t do that because you’ll blame me if you guys lose.”
“We’re trusting in you Y/N,” Jin laughed in reply.
A groan came from you, “keep me on the phone until you find out the answer, so I know whether to run or not.”
“Yeah, you might not be welcome at the dorm tonight.”
Yoongi:
You quickly paused your programme as you noticed your phone ringing. “Y/N, tell Jungkook to go and pick on someone else?” Yoongi yelled down the phone.
“What are you on about?” You laughed, with no idea what was going on as you heard Jungkook ‘s laughter in the background as Yoongi told him to go away.
He was pushed and pulled in two different directions as he tried to talk to you, “can you tell Jungkook to get another member?”
“Why?” You asked him, wanting to know what it was that you were supposed to be doing. “If you’re playing a game, then isn’t Jungkook doing what he’s supposed to be doing?”
A groan came from Yoongi as you failed to do what he asked. “Y/N, you’re supposed to be on my side, help me get Jungkook to bugger off.”
“Who’s he going to go after if he can’t go after you in the game?”
“I don’t care who he gets,” Yoongi cried out to you.
A chuckle escaped from you as you heard how desperate he was. “Sorry, but I think you might have to fight this one yourself.”
“I can’t believe that you’ve let me down like this.”
Hoseok:
Your heart stopped when you looked down at your phone and noticed Hobi’s name on the screen. “Y/N?” A voice called out, not recognising it as Hobi’s.
“Hello?” You quizzed, taking a moment to work out that the voice that you actually heard was Namjoon’s, wondering why you hadn’t heard Hobi’s voice.
A sigh came from Namjoon before speaking to you, “I don’t suppose you’re able to get yourself to the hospital, are you?”
“W-why?” You nervously quizzed, fearing the worst as you remembered what it was that the boys were filming, knowing just how physical the episode was.
Namjoon knew that you knew too before saying a word. “There’s been a bit of an incident, Hobi might have had a bit too much confidence.”
“What’s he done Joon? Or would I rather just not know for now?”
“It’s easier to show you Y/N,” he told you in response.
Your head nodded, grabbing your coat. “I’ll drive to the hospital now; I can be there in about half an hour I reckon.”
“I’ll meet you outside to show you where.”
Namjoon:
You didn’t know what was going on as you answered Namjoon’s call, hearing plenty of noise down the line. “Y/N, can you hear me?” Namjoon shouted to you.
“I can hear you,” you yelled back to him, “what on earth are you doing? I thought that you were filming for run?” You asked him, recalling Namjoon’s schedule.
A laugh came from him in reply to your question, “we are, but there’s a couple of things that we left at the dorm.”
“Let me guess, you want me to go to the dorm and bring them to you?” You asked, reading Namjoon like a book, knowing exactly what he wanted from you.
Another laugh came from him, “I wouldn’t ask if we weren’t desperate, but I promise that I’ll make it up to you for helping us out to get this done.”
“I can get to the dorm in twenty minutes if you tell me what I need.”
“I’ll send a text with a list on it,” Namjoon replied.
Your eyes widened slightly, “a list? How much have you left at the dorm? Did you not check before you left the dorm?”
“You know what we’re like, just a tad forgetful.”
Jimin:
As soon as you saw Jimin’s name pop up on your phone, you were worried, quickly accepting his call. “I’m exhausted,” was all that he said to you answered him.
“Is that all that you rang me for?” You asked him, shaking your head as you sat yourself down on the sofa, “why are you ringing me during the middle of filming run?”
Jimin could hear the panic that was in your voice, “I just thought I’d call and see how you are, what’s wrong with you?”
“I thought something bad had happened, you never ring me during filming,” you scolded him, taking several deep breaths to calm yourself back down.
A soft sigh came from Jimin as he listened to you. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to worry you, I only rang because I’m tired and I want to hear your voice.”
“It’s fine, it’s my fault for probably assuming the worst straight away.”
“It’s nice that you worry about me though,” Jimin smiled.
Your eyes rolled at how excited he sounded, “of course, I worry about you, especially when I’ve seen some episodes of run too.”
“This one’s easy, even we can’t mess it up.”
Taehyung:
A sigh of relief came from Taehyung as you picked up his call, speaking straight away. “Y/N, we’re relying on you to get the answer right so that we can win a snack?”
“Answer right for what?” You quizzed, with no idea what was happening as you heard the boys in the background, their voices all muffling together as they all spoke.
Taehyung quickly shushed them before speaking again, “do you have any idea what the capital of Samoa is Y/N?”
“Isn’t it Apia?” You asked Taehyung, not even having to think as the boys all cheered on the end of the phone in reply to the answer that you gave.
Taehyung didn’t respond as he watched the production team, as their heads quickly nodded. “Y/N, thank you! I knew that you wouldn’t let us down.”
“I hope you plan on sharing some of those snacks with me for helping.”
“I’ll bring some home with me,” Taehyung promised you.
A chuckle came from you as the boys all thanked you. “I’m glad I could help, but you guys all owe me a favour at some point now.”
“We’ll help you out whenever you need us.”
Jungkook:
Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion as you glanced down to see Jungkook calling you, quickly picking up his call. “Y/N, guess what, I got to come home early?”
“Did you win again?” You laughed, hearing in the background of the call that Jungkook was already on the road. “Shall I start getting ready to go out to dinner in that case?”
The smile on Jungkook’s face quickly turned up, “I reckon that I’ll be home within about half an hour at this rate Y/N.”
“Wow, you really did finish early,” you smirked, shaking your head as you realised that Jungkook was over two hours early to leave the set.
He couldn’t help but laugh knowing that the boys were still on set. “You should have seen their faces when PD told me that I was able to go home.”
“I can imagine that none of them were probably impressed with you.”
“I think they might have hated me,” Jungkook chuckled.
Your eyes rolled at how delighted he sounded on the other end of the line, “you’ll be in trouble when you see them at the dorm.”
“I’m the winner, I don’t care what they do.”

im so sure everyone else has already figured this out but will byers s3 + 4 analysis most particularly the argument + the destruction of castle byers + a small theory
we know that a lot of lonnies abuse towards will involves homophobia (calling him the f slur, making him like more typically masculine things etc) and we know that jonathan and will built castle byers together because of lonnies abuse, as an *escape*.
in s3 the other members of the parties suddenly all have girlfriends, hes the only boy in the party without one, and theyre all ditching him. idk how to explain this part properly but this may play into will “feeling like a mistake” like hes “different” the party in general used to be the ones that were different, his safe haven, but now he feels different within the party- alone. even jonathan wills “freak” brother has a girlfriend now
dnd also seems to seem like something thats safe for will, his safe space, a fantasy game where he can rlly be anyone he wants, where he can play games with his friends and theirs no girlfriends to make him feel different
now that the party all has girlfriends theyre all so focused on them that theyre not interested in dnd in this moment- will is losing something safe for him
this bothers him, maybe even triggers something within him so he leaves to go home- but now at home he doesnt have jonathan there for him jonathans with nancy, but he DOES have castle byers
but then mike comes out (like into the garage), and mike tells him “its not my fault you dont like girls” and its all done for will, he may even feel like its suddenly all worse because now his friends even realize he’s different- but most importantly it may have triggered everything lonnies done for will
now castle byers is useless for will, because his friends, his childhood, his safeplace is all gone. castle byers doesnt feel safe for him anymore, and after spending a week in pure hell INSIDE castle byers now all castle byers represents is him being different, why was he the only one taken and the only one to survive? why was he the only one without a girlfriend? why did his friends want to spend more time with their girlfriends than with him? he feels like a mistake because even within the “freaks” hes different, like thats too much different
mike was also his safe place- we see this in s2, mike made him feel like he was not a mistake- and then mike makes him feel different too- and everything safe is gone and this triggers what will felt with lonnie- that the thing different is that he doesnt like girls
but by the end of s3 we see hes okay with not playing dnd, that he ONLY wants to play dnd with mike and the group, but focusing on mike in this scene because mike doesnt make him feel different- now mike is his safe place, not dnd, not castle byers, MIKE. and in s4 we also see jonathan become safer for will, someone he can trust
but now imagine in s5 we see castle byers again, the upside down is frozen in time castle byers is still there, imagine mike and will going into the upside down and finding castle byers, mike pointing it out, maybe even asking questions, and will tells him. will tells him exactly what WE already know from the car scene, that mike makes will feel like not a mistake, that he doesnt need castle byers anymore, that he only wants to play dnd with mike now because mike is safe.

Fantasy/Twin AU
Sorry for being late and not posting for a bit. Was a bit burnt out and had writer block. I will go back to write the other days soon though. Also, sorry, I suck at writing wing aus, this is my first time doing it.
Earth J-236, an earth full of mystical life. An earth where everyone is born with wings. Your wings represented who you are; well not really, but that’s what people believed. If your wings were bright and colorful then you were obviously an amazing person, but if your wings were darker or had little color, then you have great evil in your soul. Marinette was born seconds after her twin, Damian. It takes a few years before your wings fully grow in, usually to about 6. But with the accelerated growth serums used in their artificial wombs, it took them till they were three for their feathers to sprout. Damian’s were black like their father’s with subtle hints of red like their mothers. Marinette’s were pure black, devoid of any color, and her mother was so proud of that. She was the League’s charm, for it’s believed that anyone with pure black wings was pure evil. Her only purpose being to protect her brother, nothing else was more important than her brother’s safety. She would die for him, because if he died she might as well have died as well as her only purpose for living would be gone.
Damian glared at his sister, his wings ruffling in annoyance. She was hovering close to him again, and she never said anything to him ever unless she was completely sure they were alone. He did not believe that his sister was or could ever be, “pure evil” just because of her wings. In fact, her mannerisms are the exact opposite of what people believed. She, in her own ways, is caring, sweet, and protective. He had seen, and helped, her nurse a baby bird that had fallen from its nest back to health. She would often place little things around the base for only him to find such as some extra baklava, a throwing knife, a drawing of someone, beads, or other random objects. Grandfather had always been extra hard on her, making sure she wouldn’t betray them, she wouldn’t become “evil enough to lose herself”. Sometimes she would sneak into his room at night, and it tore him apart to see silent tears run down his little sister's face as small black raven feathers fell onto the floor from her days worth of training. He had been learning how to fly, her wings had been clipped every two or three months so she could not leave the base. She had learned long ago to control her facial and wing expressions, but he could always see the droop in them and the sad shine in her eyes as she stood on the ground while he was in the air.
________
Marinette looked up and watched as the fiery Phoenix flew through the air setting Nada Parabat aflame. She didn’t feel much as she watched her grandfather get blown up. She only felt great anxiety and fear as she could not find her brother. She loved her brother, and if her job was to cause chaos, she would make sure she could prevent it from hurting him. Grandfather had told her about how cursed she was, it’s why they had to be extra tough on her, and she understood that. They couldn’t have her hurting anyone they needed, only the people they wanted gone. She was angry at grandfather yesterday for taking some of her feathers for failing a task, this must have been her fault. She didn’t want to hurt her brother, her wings had only proven nothing but destruction. She had to leave now, then she could go where no one else was, and she wouldn’t have to hurt anyone else. So like a coward, like the disgrace she was, she ran. She kept her wings tight against her back making sure that no one could grab them as she ran. An arrow hit one of them, but she didn’t have time to think about the burning pain as she ran and ran and ran farther and farther and farther away. Tears ran down her cheeks as she silently prayed that her brother would be okay.
She didn’t know how long she ran, but she knew it must have been a really long time as she had just collapsed from exhaustion in the woods. She looked back at her wings and slowly and carefully spread them out and hissed in pain from where the arrow had pierced her left wing. Drops of red slowly dripped down her feathers and dropped on the ground. She quickly closed them and made sure they were as small and put away as possible. She looked up at the trees made of brass with different colored jade leaves. Pearl-like apples growing on a few. She watched a baby griffon follow it’s mother in the distance, turtle ducks waddling to a pond somewhere nearby, deer nibbling on plants, she could hear the rustling of leaves and branches from unseen creatures and everything was getting more blurry and dark. She was cold, it felt very cold. She slowly unwound her wings from around herself and closed them tightly around her, but that didn’t stop the chill that went deep down to her bones. She was a failure, a mistake, she would only cause harm. Here she wouldn’t be able to do that, and if she died here, then no one would be hurt by her again, and wasn’t that such a nice thought.
________
Tom and Sabine had finally been able to hire some trusted employees and explore places in Tibet. They had made lots of money over the years with their successful bakery, and they thought now was a better time than ever to go on a real honeymoon as they hadn’t been able to afford it before when the bakery had first started. It was during one of these forest explorations when they saw a trail of little drops of blood and felt they needed to follow it. What they discovered broke their hearts. There lying on the cold forest floor was what appeared to be a child hugging their very black wings around them. They knew of the rumors and myths of black winged people, but they did not care. They believed that their wings were not what made them evil, but rather situations put into their lives. Sabine quickly checked for a pulse, and though it was slow she sighed in relief when she felt it. She quickly handed the small unconscious girl to Tom and they both quickly went to the nearest hospital. How could someone leave such a small child all alone to die like that? It looked as if she had been injured if the dried blood on the small fragile wings said anything. And worst of all, upon closer examination, they had been clipped, recently too.
As soon as they arrived they carried the small girl to the front and demanded that they take her in. They waited until the doctors were done and gave them permission to visit claiming to be the girl’s adopted parents. It wasn’t technically a lie, they would be soon even if Sabine had to force it to happen.
When Marinette woke up she knew something was off. She was under a blanket, she’s never been given a blanket before. The sent of bleach and chemicals were everywhere and it hurt her nose. There was a beeping noise next to her that was giving her a headache. She didn’t know where she was, and that was bad. She opened her eyes a small fraction so nobody could see she was awake and looked around as much as she could. The entire room was white and there were bright lights. There were two strange people waiting in chairs near where she was laying. She wondered if they were the ones who brought her here. Slowly she opened them up all the way and silently sat up. It’s best to make no noise, then she wouldn’t disturb anyone.
“Oh sweety, I’m so glad you’re awake.”
The woman said in a cheery and relieved manner, but she just continued to watch and study them silently. Her wings felt stiff against her back, though she made sure they didn’t move or give anything away.
“How are you feeling dear?”
Silence greeted them, and her face remained as impassive as ever. They wanted something, why else would they save a freak like her? What were they aiming for here?
“Did your parents hurt you? If so, we can take you away from them.”
Marinette’s eyes widened only a fraction. These were randoms, innocents if you will. They obviously had no idea who she was, and they seemed unafraid of her and her wings. Did they not know how dangerous she was, didn’t they know that black wings meant she was cursed? The man and the woman looked at eachother and spread their wings. Marinette was shocked, but she wouldn’t show it.
The large man had light brown eagle wings while the small woman had white and black woodpecker wings. She wanted to reach out and touch the feathers, but then something bad would happen to them, so she held her hands together.
“We don’t care what your wing color is. Your wings don’t define who you are, it’s what you do with your life that does. Can we please help you?”
The woman said sincerely as she gripped the man’s hand in hers. She felt a pull to them, something telling her to accept. She didn’t want to hurt them though. But maybe she could protect them? Maybe she could find a way around her curse and make sure they don’t get hurt? Slowly she nodded and they both looked so happy when she did. She hoped that she wouldn’t hurt them, they didn’t deserve to be cursed. Maybe if she didn’t touch them things would be ok. If she didn’t let them touch her then it wouldn’t spread. She could do this!
________
Apparently she couldn’t do it because this is a very affectionate family, and the first thing that happened before they let her sleep on their —super fluffy, pure Heaven— bed was give her a hug. She had made sure that her wings were tucked under her clothes and tight against her back the entire time though. So they didn’t touch her wings, so maybe that meant they wouldn’t be cursed.
It was strange, because the next morning they went to a courthouse, and she was adopted. She hadn’t said anything throughout the entire event, she just watched and observed what people did. They stayed in Tibet for another few days before they flew to Paris, France. This was supposed to be her new home. The city of light and love. Maybe here, it would stop her curse. It was so bright that it had to block out her darkness. She still always carried one of her knives with her, she felt naked without one. Tom and Sabine seemed to understand somehow, and said that it was her business and that was enough for them till she was ready to talk about it. It was strange not to be interrogated for now wanting to tell someone something.
Marinette had lived with the Dupain-Chengs for about a year now. It was strange really, they were honest business people and their joy was always sincere. They didn’t question much of what she did even though it was probably weird to them. They didn’t punish her for messing up like the league did, and they never went near her wings without permission. They never plucked her feathers, and they would often ask if they could preen her wings. She would refuse every time, but she would often wonder what it would be like to have someone else touch them. Think of what it would be like if she weren’t cursed. When it was time for school she would always wrap them around herself then tape them so no one would see or be able to touch them. Things were finally going well, she couldn’t risk it now!
There was a blonde brat that liked to act like she was above her, and because her wings were always hidden with no explanation she made sure everyone knew that she was “wingless”. She didn’t care though, being wingless was better than being evil winged. She never really said anything in class or to other students, she never gave much reaction keeping her stoic face up. The brat left her alone soon after for being a, “ridiculous! Utterly ridiculous freak.” And nobody was the wiser.
Being Lady Chaos was….the best thing that ever happened to her if she was being honest. Even with pure black wings, people still thought she was a hero. She never flew, she was scared she’d fall and die. She was never allowed to fly before, and even if she technically can do so now, it’s not worth the risk. Her partner though, Mr. Bug has gold, red, and black wings. He can fly through the air with ease she wished she desperately had. Sometimes after patrol she would go to the very top of the Eiffel Tower and just stretch her wings out as far out as she could. She would close her eyes as the wind blew past her and ruffled her feathers and pretend that she was soaring through the air.
________
Year three of living with Tom and Sabine she was comfortable talking to them more, and with Plagg there to control her chaos she finally let them touch her wings. It was strange really, she never took care of her wings, never cared enough to. When she first felt the hands on her feathers she had to will herself not to draw them back for fear of them plucking or ripped out. But Sabine’s hands were so gentle and smooth that they seemed to move on their own and go closer to her touch. Sabine would smile and hum as she gently preened the dark raven feathers that were soft and smooth. Maybe she could finally tell the class that she wasn’t wingless soon, and maybe they would be okay with it.
No, they would not as she learned from listening to her classmates talk to the new student, Lila Rossi. To them Lady Chaos was the only good black winged person because she was chasing after Mr. Bug to earn his affections. Lady Chaos was obviously evil before she met Mr. Bug and she would always be evil no matter what she did. Marinette felt nauseous that she ever thought about telling them the truth. She had never felt more betrayed than she felt now, because she had given them her trust, and they broke it without even knowing it. After that day, she made extra sure that her wings were hidden and wore a bit thicker clothing just in case. Tom and Sabine are a little worried about it, but she calmed them pretty quickly. She was fine, it wasn’t like they were all great friends to begin with. That’s probably why everyone sides with Lila and decides that she’s a terrible person.
She had tried leaving her past behind, pretending that she didn’t hurt and kill people. Pretend that she wasn’t a weapon. She tried to push it far away, but it wasn’t enough. It was never enough. She had abandoned her brother. She betrayed the league. She did unspeakable things to please someone who would never care about her, just her use. The city of lights seems duller than usual, it was probably her fault Hawkmoth came to be in the first place, afterall she was cursed to bring ruin everywhere she went.
________
Lila and Chloe thought it would be a great idea to bring everybody to the Crime Capital of the World for their senior trip. Probably to watch people flounder and worry when things go wrong, which they definitely would. She had stopped Hawkmoth a month before the trip, but Mr. Bug took all the credit for it. The arrogant self centered bas*. Adrien kept giving her side glances that always made her feel uncomfortable and slightly disgusted. During school he would try to touch her with every chance he’d get. He almost discovered her wings at one point. She couldn’t do anything about it before because of the stupid your-rich-so-do-whatever-the-heck-you-want treatment. Now that Adrien’s family fortune is gone, and people don’t trust him because of what his dad did, so he has to be more careful. He now kept some distance, which she was extremely grateful for.
She would have broken his hand, she had imagined it plus other things more than once. But then Tom and Sabine would get in trouble by Gabriel for her actions. They didn’t deserve that, they had been nothing but good to her since they found her abandoned in that forest.
She would be fine though, as long as Lila had a grip on his arm and she was in the back, away from him. She listened to their tour guide, Richard Grayson, talk about the history and importance of WE. The architecture was brilliant really, and you couldn’t blame her for having to draw and sketch it. She often thought of Damian when she sketched. She used to leave drawings for him around the base, little things that expressed her adoration for him without getting too close. She wondered if he was still with the league, had he escaped, did he die? She hoped that wasn’t the case, she hoped that he would be alive and well. Bright orange and white wings nearly slapped her in the face if she hadn’t stopped right before the movement had occurred.
“Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry Marinette! Sometimes my wings just spasm out of control like that! I didn’t hurt you did I?”
Marinette just silently rolled her eyes and took a few steps backward and watched the class glare at her waiting for her to comfort the liar. She would never lower herself to do that. She was still an Al Ghul afterall, even if she did leave it behind when she fled. She was thankful when lunch came, she waited far away from the line and watched silently from a dark corner to make sure no one would hurt her. Then she felt it, a hand touching her back feeling for something. She quickly and instinctively grabbed the arm and twisted it behind them pinning it behind their back at a painful angle.
“Ukhti, let go.”
Marinette knew that voice. She remembered that name and she could feel her heart stop. The lunchroom was silent as they watched the small bluenette silently and quickly release the “Ice Prince”. Everyone watched with bated breaths to see what would happen next. The boy’s wings were ruffled in agitation and fear.
“Where are they?”
He demanded. Marinette knew what he was talking about, she simply wrapped her arms around herself and turned her head away definitely.
“Why are you hiding them, Malak? Please.”
Marinette could feel her wings moving in defiance to what her brain was saying. They wanted to be shown, they wanted to be touched by her brother again. She looked down and slowly uncrossed her arms from her body. Damian gently took her hands in his and looked directly into her eyes.
“Everything will be ok, Taw'ami.”
She slowly nodded and with shaky fingers reached under her hoodie and began to slowly unwrap the tape that kept her wings confined. When all the tape was in her hands she hesitantly removed her hoodie and let her wings unfold from around herself and into the open. She had made shirts that let her wings slip through slits in the back that were tailored to her wings specifically and were most comfortable. Damian marveled at how big her raven wings had grown and how shiny they were. He reached out a hand slowly and gently ran his fingers down the inky black that was her wings.
Shouts of fear and accusations were thrown at her, mostly from her class. She didn’t listen though, she just observed. The tour guide was coming over now, probably to kick her out. He had such lovely wings though, they were a deep navy blue that looked similar to black with dark red and light blue running through them. They looked so well kept and soft.
“Damian, what’s happening? Who is this?”
“Grayson, meet my twin sister, Marinette.”
“You have a twin?!”
Richard exclaimed loudly, drawing even more attention. The insults and jeers stopped after that. She looked over at the class and smirked when she saw their shock and confusion.
“Yes, keep up.”
Damian said brusquely. They must know each other well then.
“Come, we must take her away from these imbeciles and take her to father.”
Damian grabbed her wrist and tugged, her quickly falling into line like she used to when he did this.
“Now tell me Ukhti, have you been taking care of yourself?”
She nodded as they came to an elevator and walked into it with Richard right behind them. Marinette felt her feathers fluff up nervously. She wasn’t in control of them right now, and she wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or not. Damian ran a hand gently down her right wing trying to smooth it down.
“Things will be fine Marinette. Just watch, father will be glad to meet you.”
She looked him in the eyes and squeezed her hands together.
“No, I have not told him about you. Things will be fine though.”
He seemed to understand her weird way of communicating, she still didn’t understand how he did. Richard cleared his throat and both turned to look at him.
“Sorry to interrupt, but um…I’m Dick, I’m Damian’s, and yours I guess, oldest brother. It’s nice to meet you.”
He spread his wings in a welcoming way that meant and showed safety and peace. Her wings involuntarily rose up as well to reciprocate his greeting. When the door to the elevator opened again she quickly forced her wings to hide on her back trying desperately to keep them from sight. Damian didn’t seem to like it, but he just grabbed her wrist and dragged her to a large office room. The plaque on the door read “CEO Bruce Wayne”. Their father was Bruce Wayne?! She couldn’t go in there, she couldn’t curse him and ruin his life. No, she had already messed up at the league, and she was just barely not messing up with Tom and Sabine, she would definitely ruin Bruce Wayne’s life, and she would not allow that to happen. She tugged at his grip desperately trying to get away.
“Marinette, stop. Your wings are not cursed, that was a lie.”
Marinette shook her head and kept trying to escape the iron-like grip.
“Do you not trust me anymore?”
She froze at that and quickly shook her head. Of course she trusted him, it was her that shouldn’t be trusted.
“Good, because we’re going in now.”
And that was that, because the door was now open and she was being dragged into the office room where their father and another boy with large bags under his eyes stared at them. Damian puffed up his chest and feathers letting his strong, big, and brilliant wings rise into the air.
“Father, this is your daughter, my twin, Marinette Erebus Al Ghul-Wayne.”
They both stared at her in shock and Marinette slowly and cautiously raised her despicable black wings into the air. Both stared at them in awe before looking back at her, but she didn’t meet their eyes. She didn’t want to see the disgust and hatred in their eyes.
After a few moments she looked up and saw their wings greeting hers like Dick’s had. Their father’s wings were a mix of black and dark grey alternating the color in each row of feathers. The other boy’s were black at the top and slowly turned to red at the bottom. But they were welcoming her openly, so that must mean something! Well, it was time to get to know her father, she guessed.

My Personal Simeon Fall AU Headcanons
These are within the same realm of this fic - and it is intended as a Simeon x MC universe! These HCs will focus on his time in the Devildom rather than why he fell, but maybe that information will come eventually...
*some things regarding this war I keep mentioning may not be entirely clear - still working on that! However, I’ll try not to put out too much contradicting information, hehe!
WARNING: some angst, brief mention/implication of torture. forcibly removed memories.
First Days
He came to the devildom in a blaze, much like the brothers did, hurtling down like a shooting star. At the core, encasing him as his wings charred to soot, was a brilliant light blue, rimmed by a dazzling white and platinum gold. At his impact site, parts of the dirt and stone have crystallized in the same colors. The site is still roped off for investigation.
He fell, acting as a white flag for both sides to signal the end of a war very few people knew was raging. The impact sent the last of his holy energy into the surrounding area, and demons near the sight complained of itching and general irritation for weeks after.
The only people at the site who looked into his eyes when he struggled to get up were you, Diavolo, Barbatos, Lucifer, and Solomon. A few curious Devildom citizens were scattered about, too, but Diavolo's authoritative vibe kept them too far to see anything.
Diavolo and Barbtos kept him in one room in the castle as he adjusted to the sudden demonic energy inside him and learned to contain his wrath. You were allowed to see him, but only if supervised by Barbatos or Diavolo in case Simeon tried to hurt you.
He was despondent most of the time, sitting curled up and stiff in the middle of the bed that looked untouched. He spent days without sleep, simmering with rage. You never found out if he bottled it up or if he destroyed the room but Barbatos put it back together before you appeared.
(You might not ever learn that some of the methods Diavolo and Barbatos used to bring his memories back were...extreme. They had no intentions of torture or pain, but they desperately wanted to get to them if they could. That’s where his anger was used up - as he screamed out in agony, either from the extraction method or the feeling of having lost everything yet not quite grasping what that meant.)
Satan suggested books and sent some of his personal collection that helped him gather himself when he was created. Diavolo and Barbatos tried to jog his memories, both for personal reasons and to get information on the Celestial realm, but that was exactly why they were gone. His memories had been magically extracted, but haste made him forget most everything instead of just sensitive information regarding the realm.
Eventually, he was free to roam the garden and some hallways, and when Diavolo and Barbatos concluded that regaining his memories was impossible, he was housed.
Power & Standing
He was a powerful angel, so he is a powerful demon, yet not quite as powerful as the brothers.
Simeon, for the majority of the war, was fighting on the side of the Celestial Realm, so he's generally disliked among the citizens of the Devildom. Our cast are all weary around him for multiple reasons - aside from Satan, Beel, Solomon, and MC (obviously).
He isn't an official member of any student council or governing body, nor does he really have a final say in anything, but he does frequently act as an advisor of sorts. He tends to work with Barbatos on that front, discussing in the background anything that might need discussed or worked on separate from the brothers.
Simeon is a wrath demon, though the change in his temper is hardly noticeable at first. He resembles Lucifer in how strict he is, mostly when he is in charge of something, and his anger that releases when he isn't listened to mimics Satan's.
If they are near each other and angry about the same thing, Satan and Simeon can actually feed off of the other's anger and boost their power. Satan does NOT need the boost, but you bet he brings chaos and destruction tenfold is he has it. For Simeon, though, it practically puts him on par with some of the brothers, if only for a short while.
Socially, he is generally ignored, and nobody runs away from him if he initiates conversation - but he doesn't. Simeon turns into a bit of a loner, a large chunk of his personality and memories gone and replaced with anger.
He's still learning how to deal with it.
His demon form consists of black deer-like antlers (not small but just small enough to avoid being entirely cumbersome) and long wings with bone-tipped feathers. His wings are almost always folded against his back and hanging low, the dangling feathers reminiscent of his angelic cloak with the golden charms. He does have a little black deer tail but doesn't like it being commented on.
(Don't worry about aerodynamics or which animal he represents, it's a magical universe its fine uwu)
General Information
He lives in modest home on the outskirts of the Devildom, somewhat close to the castle in case there's some type of emergency that needs to be taken care of but not so close he gets a super nice house and causes some social uproar. He has a small yard and a garden he tends to meticulously.
I imagine the house as a sort of townhouse (although not a for real townhouse because its it's own thing), two stories tall. The downstairs has a small living room, kitchen and bathroom while the entire upstairs is an open bedroom/office type deal. It gives off a gothic cottage type of vibe. No idea if this is helpful so maybe one day I'll build it in the sims.
He keeps his house tidy but has many bookshelves filled with equal parts books and knickknacks.
As stated before, he is a wrath demon, and because of his memories being almost entirely erased, he had a similar fall and adjustment period as Satan. Also, as a writer, he has an intrinsic appreciation for books. He and Satan get along the most out of all the brothers - the fact that Lucifer has mixed (mostly negative)(?) feelings about Simeon makes the deal sweeter for Satan.
Beel doesn’t dislike him, and while he doesn’t trust Simeon yet he’s willing to see if Simeon is on their side now considering none of his family got hurt. Solomon still trusts him though, but he does get a little downtrodden when he has memories that Simeon doesn’t.
When angry, Simeon smiles sweetly but his voice turns dead cold. Whereas Satan goes feral and seeks destruction like a bomb, Simeon feels more like a sniper rifle that needs careful aim and precision with just as devastating consequences. Shouting and immediate carnage are rare and only come after a severe transgression.
Otherwise, Simeon allows himself to be more playful than before. He doesn’t exactly have snide remarks, but he is an expert at stating the truth in a way that feels like a blade cutting through your confidence.
In true "flaunt what ya got without really making it seem purposeful" Simeon fashion, he wears button-down shirts that are almost entirely unbuttoned. They are always patterned and funky, and he wears them tucked into black pants. I'm thinking something like this (he also has patterns that are more "groovy" than vacation)
Will also occasionally sport a deep v like this
He still acts just as naive and confused if you bring up how exposed he is to him, so its best just to suffer in silence.
When making a pact with MC, he makes sure the mark covers a scar he left and doesn't remember from the war on your shoulder. It feels like a longer-lasting apology.
He still calls you "little lamb," but instead of smiling gently at you like a loving shepherd, his smiles look like a predator baring his fangs at his prey. In a sweet way. In a hot way.
What Does He Remember?
At first, nothing. Demonic instinct claws at him and he lashes out at everyone and everything.
He is still a nightmare with technology. Nobody knows if this is residual from how he was before, a result of his memories being taken, or just a trick.
Occasionally, he’ll remember an inside joke, but only halfway. You’ll say something you don’t realize is from before, and he’ll laugh, almost like an impulse. But then his laugh trails off and he gets contemplative, wondering what, exactly, was so funny about it.
The brightness of the Celestial Realm is hard to forget. The rainbow framing the palace and vast fields appear in dreams. He never remembers anything ‘important,’ but it’s enough to remind him that he was discarded.
The Celestial War hasn’t gone away, not in its entirety. There are certain things like battle strategies that he can’t for the life of him conjure up in his mind, but he remembers the bulk of it. It helps him realize why some of the brothers were/are so aloof towards him - nothing was ever as simple as he thought it once to be. Fighting a losing battle isn’t a choice you make when its for love - its simply the only path available.
(Apologies are so, so hard to dish out when you can’t remember most of your transgressions, though.)
He remembers Luke and will worry himself to inconsolable tears at night just thinking about him. Those thrown away don’t get the privilege of knowing what happens to their friends - and even if he did, Simeon wouldn't be so stupid as to put a target on Luke's back by proving that he was still important to him.
But he can only remember Luke's terrified, teary eyes when he realized Simeon was going to turn on the Celestial Realm in the middle of a war, and how he pleaded with Simeon not to. Luke asked what he would do all by himself, and Simeon hopes to his Father for only one thing - that he figured it out.
This is his sore spot. Nobody is allowed to be privy to these thoughts, not even you. But some days he comes to RAD looking worse for wear and you KNOW something is bothering him. He'll just never tell you what.

on the school dance fallout or, a thorough examination of the boys’ apologies to julie
full disclosure, i used to take serious issue with 1.06 for what it did to julie’s righteous anger in light of the boys letting her down, and my gripes haven’t fully gone away. but i have spent some time thinking on the fallout since my first (several) viewing(s) of the show and i finally noticed some emotionally nuanced storytelling that i needed time to come to appreciate. so, if you’ll indulge me another gif-filled meta post...
everyone knows that a good apology demonstrates an understanding of how you wronged the person you’re apologizing to, otherwise the words i’m sorry end up being fairly empty. and luckily for the boys, julie does a good job of immediately and effectively communicating her hurt feelings:
the first part is directed at luke specifically as her main co-writer, while the rest is about how all three of them let her down. it couldn’t be more clear that the reason she’s so betrayed is that a) they’ve made her feel like julie and the phantoms is less important to them than sunset curve and b) they’ve failed to consider her point of view or empathize with how important the show was to her.
which is why singing sorry a bunch of times, though charming, leaves her unmoved. and it’s why booking another gig actually makes her angrier. a gig the boys have deemed important enough to show up for is not a present or an olive branch to her, it’s a slap in the face. and if the boys had actually been paying attention to what she’d said the night of the dance, they could have anticipated her reaction.
but they clearly haven’t listened, so they haven’t learned how to do better or make things right. which is why this is such an important beat in the scene in the studio:
hounding julie to rejoin the band, even with such nice sentiments as “you’re the best thing that’s happened to us since we became ghosts”, does nothing to address how undervalued julie feels getting stood up because, as she points out above, their ability to do what they love is very limited without her. that makes her a powerful and essential member of the band, but it doesn’t prove that they care about her, julie, the person. and you can see in the reaction shot how the truth of her words lands for all of them.
their remorseful silence gives julie the opportunity to reiterate one of the points she made the night before, and it’s important to note which part of her hurt feelings she chooses to revisit.
the fact that they made the choice to pay more attention to their old music in spite of the music they were creating together is the thing that hurt her feelings the most. and, of course, her open hostility and her imagined reasons for why the boys picked sunset curve over julie and the phantoms (i.e. selfishness) puts luke on the defensive and ends with everyone leaving the scene dissatisfied.
great! okay, so here’s the part that’s bugged in the past (and the present, just. a little less so.) — in their attempt to deescalate the situation, alex and reggie give julie, and the audience, the all-important luke backstory. but like asking julie to rejoin the band with a shinier gig than a school dance flies in the face of actually making amends, so, too, does asking julie to empathize with luke’s emotional journey when the boys failed to take julie’s into account when they hurt her. only this time, it works as an olive branch.
now, i’m not saying that julie’s acting out of character in being sympathetic to luke’s pain, quite the opposite is the case. and i’m also not saying it’s bad that she does find sympathy for his situation — again, i’d argue that the opposite is true. it’s just, at the same time, it’s not a good look to force aside the young woman of color’s hurt in service of the white dude who hurt her feelings in the first place’s tragic backstory. the narrative is asking julie not to be mad at the choices luke made in the past two episodes because he’s really sad, actually.
and sure that’s an ungracious read of the moment, but i stand by the fact that it’s present in the text of the episode all the same, even with a little more nuance than i’m currently giving it credit for.
all that being said, alex and reggie do a bit to win back this highly insensitive maneuver with another stab at an apology.
alex addresses julie’s comment about them knowing “how tough it’s been for her to play” by reiterating that not showing up let her down and they get that that’s a crappy way to feel, while reggie takes a crack at julie’s “our songs were good” by emphasizing that they all love being in a band and making music with her. it’s a slight step up from their sorry in the garage, but not a complete fix because they’re all still sitting with the fact that they need julie to make the most of their music and how that complicates their declarations of loyalty.
the thing that makes this attempt at reconciliation different than those prior, of course, is this line:
the acknowledgement that things haven’t been fixed + the politeness + the implication that they’re willing to put in the time to earn her trust back so long as she lets them makes the apology a good enough one to accept. well, that, and:
one gets the sense that if rose could actually speak to julie in that moment, she’d be reminding her the value of grace. and, of course, we know that this also serves as a reminder to julie that good things are fleeting, loss is around every corner, and holding close what you care about is important. so she does just that by letting go of her (righteous, righteous) anger and reuniting the band.
still, even though alex and reggie have had their chance to make amends, luke doesn’t get the same moment to show he’s actually paid attention to julie’s needs in 1.06. so, naturally, he starts immediately in their first scene together in 1.07.
i mentioned in my exhaustive list for “finally free” that julie picking a sunset curve song for their reunion number is a lovely, understated way for her acknowledge luke’s lost musical legacy, and i have similar feelings about the fact that luke suggests “edge of great” for their follow-up gig. it’s his first step in proving to her that he does care about the music they’ve written together with actions instead of empty apologies and misguided gestures.
by the end of the episode, though, the three of them take a step back (reggie gets points for his being, like, half a step) when they learn that, in addition to letting down julie, one of the consequences of their night chasing revenge is a ticking clock on their existence.
though i understand the urge to protect julie from the alarming news that their power is going out, there’s also a lot of selfishness behind the decision. julie loses them in the end no matter what, but lying to her about it and planning to leave without an explanation shows a disregard for her emotional journey in a similar way standing her up did. in fact, this plan is basically to stand her up for eternity. not cool, guys.
naturally, since it’s luke who’s the one proposing the terrible plan and it’s luke who never officially demonstrated his understanding of how he hurt julie’s feelings by not showing up when it mattered, it’s fitting that he’s suddenly more in tune with his own feelings. and, with that, comes a new awareness of how his and julie’s feelings interact, starting with this moment in 1.08.
you can see his conflict over her declaration. she’s worried without knowing just how much there is to be worried about, and that makes him sad because it’s confirmation of the fact that he’s important to her. that losing him will mean a lot of pain for her. but instead of cluing her in, he makes a conscious choice to continue withholding the information of his imminent departure. and maybe it’s such a weak deflection because he’s already starting to come to terms with how unfair he’s being to her, but even so, he’s not being a good friend when julie is showing up for him in big, unexpected ways he’d never even thought to ask for.
and again, here —
— just after they’ve acknowledged that there’s a something and not a nothing between them, you can see him sober with the thought that she doesn’t know they’re about to lose each other. but it’s still not enough to move him to share. maybe because he prefers that she live with the possibility of that something when he no longer can, maybe because he’s too caught up in his own feelings about how crappy this hand they’ve been dealt by the universe is. but in any case, he keeps tight-lipped.
UNTIL.
it’s seeing her excited about a future their music can’t have that finally pushes him into coming clean. and i love how subtly this demonstrates that he has been paying attention, actually, and he knows that what hurt julie the most was the feeling that their music took a backseat to his past. if he crosses over without telling her the whole, ugly truth about the mistake he made by standing her up, then he crosses over stuck in that mistake. because part of that whole, ugly truth is the beautiful realization that no music is worth making, julie, if we’re not making it with you. and he’s not quite at that particular aspect of his truth yet — he still has to experience the what if of caleb’s club to be able to make the declaration with the conviction he does — but when he finally does tell her that and means it, she’s given the catharsis she’s needed since the dance. because he’s backing up his apology with action (i.e. being willing to literally no longer exist instead of making music with someone else) and providing her with the same consideration she showed him when she rejoined the band because his loss felt more important than her anger. and reaching that level of give and take in their relationship, physically represented in their hug, finally sets them free.
so, yes. even though 1.06 is clunky and a little tasteless at times, i can acknowledge that the story manages to win any missteps back. quite poetically, honestly. all’s forgiven.

my favorite flower husbands moments of 3rd LifeSMP (part 3) (includes spoilers up to the finale):
the entire concept of Scott building them a bunker and only giving those he trusts a chest with potions. basically any time Scott shows how much he genuinely trusts people and puts in the effort for them makes my heart warm. Jimmy, of course, at the top of that trust chain tho and it’s sweet.
again, me imagining Scott as this kind of lone elf pre-everything that lived his life mostly alone, but now he’s opened up his new home in this world that’s rapidly turning more dangerous by the day to someone else. him being so trusting of others bc for one, he knows he can handle himself if worst comes to worst. for two, he has no reason not to trust others. some would find it naive, but he’s simply just a realist that happens to be optimistic sometimes about people.
i’m mentioning all that bc i think it makes it more special knowing he trusts and cares about people, but he is incredibly realistic about how bad things can happen, but it all comes down to the fact that as long as he and Jimmy can live happily with their home safe, then he’s fine with everyone else. and i think it’s adorable imagining how Jimmy probably realizes all this and thinks it’s so nice. his catboy tax benefits husband is very sweet:)
Jimmy scaring the fuck out of Scott by shouting any time he needs him.
Scott pranking Jimmy with a cake of all things and Jimmy just “can you please taste it for me:(“
focusing in on the cake, Jimmy’s become so nervous about hidden traps killing him that he can’t even trust a cake of all things. and the double-edge of Scott pranking him with the cake to scare him, but also reminding Jimmy that he doesn’t have to fear everything. always be safe, but also Scott wouldn’t willingly put him at risk like that.
Jimmy: “i’ll run with you! let’s do some skipping together.”
the fact Jimmy’s solution to making Scott eat the cake ever included running around WITH Scott in case the fact that Scott wouldn’t be alone would make Scott more willing to do it. it’s Dogboy energy innit.
the way Jimmy instantly goes from being nervous to “awwwww :D” when he finds out Scott made the cake for him
any moment Jimmy pops up randomly, but it’s during a peaceful moment and surprises Scott. i can’t explain it. there’s just domestic husbands randomly visiting each other energy here.
any time Scott and Jimmy show up somewhere together. power couple energy enters the chat, but in the shape of a fancy elf man and his zombie husband following at his heels like a lost puppy.
Scott calling Jimmy his ride or die
the mirror dynamic of Scar and Grian, a red-life and green-life that have been active in the fighting and know the terrors of not being able to trust anyone, versus Scott and Jimmy, a red and green life that have tried to live a mostly peaceful life. the fact Scar and Grian learned they have to constantly be on guard, watch their back, always have a trap ready, etc. the fact they live together more for their own safety as allies rather than Scott and Jimmy, who agreed bc they enjoy each other’s company.
honestly there’s so much in those parallels to talk about, but i just needed to mention how much i love that this exists and you constantly see those parallels seeing as the two pairs are allies.
it’s the hostile zombie man and his human companion dynamics for me, but one pair is hardened and cautious from the ongoing wars and the other pranks each other with cake.
Grian: “i don’t trust anyone. i’ve invested so much gunpowder into this project that i’ll take down everyone with me included if i have to.”
Scott, casually standing with his full trust in various people: cool, i’m in 👍
Grian telling Scar “i can’t let you go like that” and Scott following up with “yeah, and i can’t trust Jimmy to pull a lever so—“
Scott losing a life, Jimmy, and all his shit all in the span of five seconds, then proceeding to accidentally drink poison bc he’s so frazzled from everything. it’s a purely Jimmy move and you know Jimmy would be yelling at him about it, but now Scott’s alone and doesn’t yet know how to process their one braincell being his officially.
upon losing Jimmy, Scott instantly turning to revenge, murder, and arson. the fact this was him basically deciding to give up peaceful life entirely to maintain a life of war bc his husband that essentially represented that hope for a better life is now gone. he’s alone, single, and a bit unhinged.
also, Scott becoming untrusting of majority of people upon losing a life and Jimmy. hardened widow of the war turned badass archer moment.
i’m crying in the club. i miss Jimmy.
i’m on the last episode of the series now, and i’m absolutely crying over the missing zombie man. his husband misses him and i do too.
i’m never going to get over the fact that after Jimmy died, Scott immediately turned from peaceful and trusting to “i have a husband to avenge and i’m going to take down as many people to blame for it as possible”
mans showing that he does know how to kill and has many tricks up his sleeve on how to kill people. him being peaceful from the start was the safest option for everyone else, not him.
he was simply out for blood. i love that for him<3
i’m now crying.
they’re together again tho,,, but i’m in Tears,,,
