Some identifiers for AI generated fashion images that I've noticed
So, recently and not unexpectedly, I've seen a major uptick in AI generated images showing up in my searches for fashion photos, specifically. I've seen people make posts like this for specific art styles, and for 2D art in general, but I wanted to share some observations I made regarding clothing, fashion, and runways. I've seen a lot of people getting fooled by these, but it seems like for every one person thinking it's real there's about three people informing them that it's AI, fortunately. I'll admit, a lot of them look somewhat believable at first, but once you look closer it becomes apparent that they're off somehow.
To clarify: this is about common inconsistencies I've personally noticed in AI fashion images, so that you can learn where to look for these and similar inconsistencies and avoid sharing AI content by accident.
There's this one "collection" specifically that seems to come up a lot (also, click on all these images in this post to see the details more clearly):
There's more images like this and yes, despite the "houseofai" watermark I still see people asking who the designer is, or saying that they genuinely thought it was real at first. First and foremost: these are all clearly meant to be from the same runway show, right? Then why does each image look like it was taken on a different runway? The lighting and coloring are different in each one, and the middle one has vague red stairs in the background while the other two look like just a plain light-colored runway. This is something you'll obviously only be able to notice in groups of images and not singular ones, but it's a pretty dead giveaway if you see it.
Secondly: AI generated images, as a whole, tend to have this specific kind of super dramatic lighting with very bright, white lights and soft grey shadows. I'm not very knowledgeable about photography, so I can't explain it exactly, but I know it when I see it (and if someone reading this can properly explain it , please do.)
Thirdly: AI generated fashion tends to attempt perfect symmetry, but always fails somehow.
As for the actual outfits: the best that I can describe it is that a lot of the shapes and patterns just don't look like intentional human choices.
What in the hell is that monogram on the upper right supposed to be? It's clearly mimicking a logo of some kind, but it's messy and indecipherable, not actual branding.
The heart motif is clearly the running theme here, but the hearts don't really make sense. Like the main one in two halves across the chest here: why does it have those two notches missing at the bottom that prevent it from coming to a point at the bottom like a heart is supposed to?
The bottom hem is way longer on the left than on the right.
The little shoulder hearts are like, bleeding into the shoulder seams; those lines in the hair look like they're supposed to be headbands, but they disappear at the part with the rest of the hair; the embroidery on the pants isn't in a clear or intentional pattern.
Again, compare the lighting on this one's neck with the lighting on the last one's neck, totally different.
Those pink things on the chest look like they're trying to be hearts, but they're so clearly not actually hearts. If your collection is heart themed, why aren't you using actual hearts?
The quilting effect is uneven and the individual lines don't follow through and finish in the places they should. Look at the upper right sleeve, where the diamonds are misshapen and the diagonal lines are clearly disconnected. On the lower right chest, the lines just disappear. This can't actually with quilted garments IRL because the top layer is literally stitched to the bottom one along those lines with material in between. It can't fuck up like that, especially not a designer garment that costs your monthly rent.
Smooth zipper. Zippers seem to be a common fuck up.
You can't read the text on the hearts. It's nonsense. Nonsense, unreadable text and fucked up hands are the absolutely surefire ways to identify AI art like this. Conveniently, there are no hands in these photos.
What are those embossed shapes on the sleeves? They're not identifiable as anything in particular.
That is not how zippers work.
I suppose that weird folding beneath the hearts is something technically physically possible. But it's much, much more likely that they would create smoother, less ugly seams with less excess fabric.
These generative AI programs don't actually comprehend what they're trying to depict. Thus, they make mistakes like these. Physical inconsistencies that are often totally impossible, but even the possible things are just... stupid choices that an actual designer isn't going to do. Yeah, sure, designs can be weird, asymmetrical, and imperfect on purpose. But it's way, way more likely that this is just an AI.
Experiment: look at these two images of retro-futuristic headpieces/eyewear and determine whether they're real or AI.
Right one is easy, mostly because of the wonky bitch in the back. But some other inconsistencies I specifically wanna note: if the blue goggles color the "model"'s skin, hair, helmet, and the background behind the lenses blue, why doesn't it do the same for the eyes? And also, I've noticed that a lot of these images have trouble properly rendering the corners of the mouth, which is a weird detail but one you won't be able to unsee once you know to look out for it. Yes, there's a dark line where actual human lips meet, often with some subtle divots at the corners, but in the image on the right, it's rendered as a harsh, gaping hole more like something sculpted out of plastic than actual flesh. On the note of imperfect symmetry again: the left lens isn't perfectly round. And finally, this is a really good example of that giveaway lighting I mentioned. I don't know how you would actually achieve that lighting IRL, but it's so, so common in AI images.
The left photo is an actual model in 1967 wearing pieces designed by Pierre Cardin, a designer that the right image is definitely trying to emulate. The model has a look on her face that isn't super duper expressive, but it's still far beyond any of the AI images I've seen. Every AI fashion image I've seen thus far has totally blank-faced, expressionless "models". They might pout slightly, but I haven't seen any with visible teeth. Something tells me the AI would render teeth the same way it renders fingers. The emblem on the hat is actually perfectly symmetrical, and the glasses are clearly asymmetrical as an intentional design choice, not like the shapes are supposed to be the same but got messed up somehow. And she has ten fingers total, five on each hand.
Two more:
These are both AI generated. I'm not gonna lie, i fell for the one on the left at first. The right is easy:
distorted faces
woman in back is being absorbed by the train(?) seat
those middle buttons on the jacket are totally useless
AI Lighting (TM)
But the "models" on the left look very, very convincing, and the lighting doesn't immediately register to me as AI lighting. The only really wonky thing on the faces is the mouth on the left "model". However, there's one dead giveaway: the headphone wires. Why are they different thicknesses? Why does the rightmost wire disappear into the jacket sleeve? Where the fuck does the leftmost wire even go? AI, I've noticed, struggles with thin lines, strings, and strands of things. Like with the quilted jacket above, you can often try and trace a single line, only to find that it drops off, distorts, or disappears. And sure enough, as soon as I noticed something was weird with those wires, I went to the Pinterest profile that posted it and found that they exclusively posted AI content. Speaking of the actual headphones, the leftmost ear cushion is sitting on an angle that doesn't make sense, and the one to the direct right of it is significantly thinner than the other three. Again, subtle failed symmetry.
This is by no means a comprehensive guide, and I encourage anyone seeing this to point out ways they've found to identify AI images like this. These are things I've just been on the lookout for lately. And when in doubt: conduct reverse image searches and try your best to identify solid sources for your images. AI images won't list designers, model names, photographers, stylists, makeup artists, etc., while actual runway and photoshoot images will, because there are human creatives behind them.
#posting this to my least active blog rather than my fashion one so that less notes will overwhelm that blog's notifications#ai#psa#long post

Chu chu chu*; or, intimate scene tips from the Kiseki cast
(Note: See reblogs for another pairing that used the same strategy and for super helpful info from @nibupei; also this post has been edited to replace the screenshots with slightly better versions)
I don't usually watch a lot of BL-related stuff on youtube, but I've still got a bad case of Kiseki brainrot and there's a bonkers amount of Kiseki-related material on there and a remarkably high proportion of it has English subs, so I've been perusing it. I saw something I found really interesting in one interview that I thought was worth sharing here, particularly since I'm sure there are others who, like me in most instances, don't typically look for BL info there. According to the title, the interview is related to a photobook, I assume one made for/about the series. You can find it here if you want to check it out for yourself. The part I talk about below starts around the 7:44 mark. A big thank you to the fan who subbed this for the rest of us, who as you can see from the watermark goes by abbyloveslove.
The thing that caught my attention was about Nat Chen's and Louis Chiang's process for intimate scenes. I'm always a total nerd about this kind of information, especially with regard to Taiwanese BL folks since people in the industry there have developed such a strong tradition of effective practices. The gist is this: prior to filming scenes involving kissing, you have to do blocking, check lighting, and so forth, so you have to get in position as if you were kissing your scene partner. But it's not actually necessary to kiss them and, in Louis's view at least, it would be counterproductive to do it at that point. So Louis and Nat came up with a substitute action. They'd do sort of mimed smooches, but with their own special a Taiwan-specific sound effect.
It's a bit hard to tell who's speaking here, what with the image quality. So I'll specify who's talking when. Speaking of which, these are just screenshots of a rather blurry video so apologies for any and all aesthetic shortcomings.
So, first Nat's speaking...
then Louis...
(he does a little shimmy here that's hard to capture in a still image)
and Nat again.
And then Louis sums it up.
After watching this I noticed that in one of the behind-the-scenes bits that are strung together into one long thing on Viki, you can actually hear someone going "chuchuchu." It's hard to tell who's speaking because of the angle and some staff wearing masks but I think it might actually be their director in that instance.
So there's your intimate scene nerd moment for today. Chu chu chu.
*Per @nibupei in the reblogs, this should actually be Romanized as "jiū." I recommend checking out their response in full. Just putting this here because some folks are still interacting with the original post who might find their notes illuminating.

INTRODUCTION.
Greetings. I'm MysticVixin. I'm an artist striving to create something good in this world. If not just a single smile or laugh. Seeing as the digital realm is getting infested with generative parasites, me along with many artists are becoming digital rufugees. That is to say I'm not intending to downplay real rufugees by any means. Considering I come from a place of privledge.
Though I'm willing to explain my point. As an artist, especially in a modern digital world, I'm more or less required to share my art everywhere. There is a pressure to be consistant and to have it on multiple platforms. This is because both possible employers and clients need to see your work to commission or work with you.
Which is to say that with the introduction of artificially generated 'artworks' as well as artificial intelligence training stealing the hard work of millions of artists worldwide, it would be like working a 9-5 position for possibly decades only for a new boss to be step in, take all of your work from since you were hired, attempt to reconstruct your handwriting, math, notes and everything you learned then getting a promotion.
In time, you will then be let go because.. why pay an employee when you can just have something better do it for free after already taking and learning everything that you can do and faster?
So what exactly are you supposed to do in that situation when all the largely well known offices you could 'work' for either proudly or discreetly claim that their employees' work is nothing more than free labor to steal and utilize for their companies?
Obviously you would feel forced to take down all of your hard work to avoid the problem all together even if it may already be too late and seek new offices that don't think your work is unvaluable. Or if they mention they have third party bosses that would like to take your work give you the option to opt out from interacting with them.
Thus.. this is why I am here now. Trying to find a space I can share my work openly instead of having to either give my work up to artificial intelligence training, heavily alter and hide my work with harsh watermarks, or attempting to datapoison my work in hopes it would taint anyone that attempts to take my hard work and use it.
With that said, Greetings. I'm MysticVixin. I'm an artist striving to create a name for myself with hopes of bringing some good into this world. Even if it's as simple as making someone smile or a laugh. I'm also an aspiring vtuber/pngtuber trying to create a small close-knit community and audience for myself casually in hopes of making new connections and learning new things.
I believe this platform is going to get back on its feet with the rest of the digital rufugees possibly finding their place here. I personally decided this one due to how accessible it is in terms of posts as well as browsing. At least it trys to stop me from doom scrolling. Not only that it's on desktop so I don't have to type endlessly on mobile.... Unless I want to.
It also just has that casual sort of feel to it that makes me feel a bit more motivated to post my work more casually. Without the added pressure that other social platforms seem to envoke in me. Either because it's too big and largely populated or just not nearly as accessible. [I promise I'm not a hipster.. I think.]
Other things that intrigue me is how I could keep all of my different mediums separated in multiple blogs. For example my photography can be in one, poetry/writing in another, and even just a personal blog to just hang out and shitpost as a few examples. Then my favorite aspect that I would love to utilize is the anon or user 'ask me' posts where I can possibly build a story through them or just obvously answer random questions!
But enough about stroking Tumblr's ego, currently I'm working on multiple personal projects such as revamping my personal website, recreating stream assets as well as my vtuber sprites, and even a digital social 'game' where you guys call the shots in establishing a florishing collection of creatures! Though I'm still figuring out some details on that front.
Some of my interests besides the obvious include playing games from my childhood that some have been completely forgotten, swimming at the local aquatic center in the summer, walking and listening to music while I pick up random things I find on said walks, shiny things, thinking about humanity and existence, over-thinking said existence, roleplaying, spacing out while animating things in my head, politics to some degree, and pretending my life has meaning.
I've also been exploring more into spirituality and am drawn towards religions of nature. I'm not exactly certain of which I would more likely identify with though paganism and wiccan seem to stick the most. Since I was young I have always been drawn to the moon and the tide. So my practice is likely water based in some manner. Seeing as it flows through all living things. I even remember having a phase as a teenager and making a sort of altar for aesthetics and even lighting candles but not really understanding how best to proceed. Though I did make one spell that I can still recall.
Anyway, enough of my rambling. I can't wait to share some of these things with you guys and see where this journey may take us. Now if you excuse me, I got a logo to recreate and eggs to find. [Hopefully you can help me hatch them!]

Okay, I want to go into more detail on this post. On last week's episode, I hooked RPG Maker's character generator onto a post about generators to use other than Midjourney and pals. This is about making sprites like these-
Note that these were all edited (some more than others- I only made light edits to Jovie (the middle one) today, so he's most along the lines of what you're getting if you don't edit).
Though RPG Maker has a generator that does a lot of the work for you, I highly recommend editing the sprites. They have colored eye highlights and other symptoms of strangeness. Plus it lets you do more with the character design! But if you just want to generate characters, here's a quick and dirty guide.
First of all- this is for RPG Maker MV and MZ. They work pretty much the same. VX Ace only lets you generate faces, which look like this-
MV and its sequel MZ allow for more customization options. I used VX Ace years ago, but its generator was nowhere near as good as these two. It's also super old and might not run correctly, so don't bother.
Faces are updated automatically with the rest of your sprite sheet, so I wouldn't worry too much about them.
Another thing to note is that those fancy sprites come in a 9x6 grid that looks like this (watermarked so it can't be used in someone else's game)-
This sheet contains 54 sprites for three-stage animations. Unless you're making a game, you don't need all this shit. The sprite in the top left should do. Although you can use any single sprite you want.
Whether you are using MV or MZ is irrelevant, as the generators work the same. Make a new game project (you don't need to put anything in it), then click the person's head in the toolbar. There are male and female adult/teen options, along with kids (the sheet above is a kid sheet).
When you save- first click "Save Settings". This creates a json file, which you can put wherever. By clicking "Load Settings", your character will appear in the male, female, or kid tab with all your settings intact. You need to click "Battler" to get the type of sprite I use. There's also "Face Image" (if you want a face), Walking Character (for smaller sprites- a 3x4 grid) and Damaged Character (for if your character is knocked out- useful for RPG Maker cutscenes and nothing else).
The side menu has all this shit on it-
In order of appearance-
Face: Adjusts the shape of the face. Only works on the face image. You can also change skin color from here, but the options are shitty (I'll talk more about that later).
Front Hair/Rear Hair: Hair comes in two parts. If you have both of these set to empty, the character will be bald. Eyebrows will be the same color as the hair, and attempting to change eyebrow color will change hair color.
Beard- Gives your character a beard if you want. Only on the male tab. Like eyebrows, the beard color is linked to the base hair color.
Ears- For elf ears and the like.
Eyes- Changes eye color and eye shape in the Face sprite.
Eyebrows/Nose/Mouth- Effects the face sprite only. This is pretty self-explanatory, with each function changing the body part it describes.
Facial Mark- Allows you to put things like tattoos and scars on your character's face.
Beast Ears/Tail/Wing- For non-humans. Beast Ears gives your character kemonomimi ears (catgirls and catboys). Tail and Wing give your character exactly those. You can change the color of any of them.
Clothing/Cloak/Accessory Tabs/Glasses- Everything your character wears. You can choose one accessory form the 1 and 2 tabs, and also change the color of all these things. A word of caution- the clothes tend to get muddy when you alter their color. Clothes have multiple tiers of color, so it might take some trial and error until you find the color you want. Some accessories (coughhatscough) clip weirdly. If you give your character no clothing, they'll be Barbie doll nude (MV) or have only undies on (MZ).
Once you finish and export, the sprite sheet is like any other png, and you can edit to your heart's content. You can just clean up pixel trash, alter expressions, change any color, or completely change everything. You can use any program, too. I use Krita, but if you prefer a different program like pirated Photoshop, then use that instead.
Here's a comparison of Generic Shonen Boy 13 and my character Jonas.
You can also add custom parts to the generator! These can easily be found online. Some parts have terms of use that ask for creator credit, but you don't have to worry about that unless you plan to post the character (in which case just mention the person's name). There's parts that let you make anything, including furry characters.
Now, RPG Maker's generator does have some huge problems, namely-
Price- RPG Maker MZ is $80 on Steam. Watch for Steam sales which drastically decrease the price. Official DLC that upgrades the generator will also set you back 10-15 bucks a pack. If you have MV, it's basically required to buy DLC just to make kid characters (otherwise, you can only change the colors of the same girl). MZ is a lot less mean in this regard.
Generator Corruption- This happened to me in MZ, unfortunately. Adding parts wrong or trying to transplant from MV into MZ (or vise versa) may corrupt your generator. This means absolute wacky shit will happen- clumps of weird pixels, overlapping parts, missing pixels etc. etc. This is easily fixable in an outside program. But if you can't draw/sprite, then just stick to the default parts.
(As side note- here's what generator corruption looks like. Red hair is my OC Moira. Blond hair is the generator character I edited. Note the block of brown pixels between the legs, a transparent pixel on the jacket fur near her leg, and what appears to be an extra arm emerging from her back. I've even found sprites with missing/overlapping arms and hands or extra feet.)
Diversity- The big problem is race. There are a million skin tones that basically translate to "white". But there are only three dark skin tones in MZ, and only one doesn't look like rotting flesh. I had to edit one of my characters pretty heavily just to make him brown. Also, not all male and female parts are interchangeable. This- again- means going to an outside editor. Gender isn't as much of an issue for kids- all the parts are available for them regardless of gender.
And that's pretty much it! If you want to use RPG Maker as an alternative to AI, here's your starter guide. Sites like Reddit and RPG Maker Forums have more parts and can answer extra questions.

Yeah these research suggestions are strange. Neither copyright legislation nor the effectiveness or existence of personal actions against data scraping has any bearing on whether the thing itself is theft or not, only on how much work is put into the theft. If I don't lock my bike I might be partly responsible for it being stolen, but it's still theft. If I do lock it, you can take it with the lock or you can destroy the lock; both are still theft. If a hundred people walk by before someone takes my bike, it's still theft. If there is a law protecting the thief but not me, still theft. If the thief is a small company with the best of intentions, still theft.
And the fact that the datasets aren't stored doesn't exempt them from theft, it only means the evidence is destroyed. If a thief takes my bike, uses one wheel for something else and destroys the rest, it's still theft.
Here are some research and/or thought suggestions that I based my opinion on:
- Look up AI companies' responses to 'data poisoning'. Whose responsibility is consent? If you post a picture online, is it your responsibility to use a watermark or everyone else's to credit you properly? What if someone removes your watermark? If you don't use a watermark, you don't explicitly say no, is that consent? What does that mean for nightshade/glaze and the companies that try to circumvent them? What about recommendations to remove poisoned data, do they give moral or practical reasons to do so? What does that say about the value they place on your consent?
- What do you consider immoral theft (of intellectual property)? Must something be removed from someone, or just used without their permission? What about plagiarism? What about potential gains from it? Can artistic recognition, satisfaction or achievement be stolen?
- What do you consider art? Does there need to be a creative process, must there be a human involved and in what way? Must art always be new or original or meaningful? Can someone be mistaken about something being art? What distinguishes art from non-art?
- Look up the Chinese room thought experiment. Look up what words actually are (fair warning, there is no clear consensus). Are they only the word itself, or do they have a meaning beyond semantics? What does this say about language, and about entities who only interact with one aspect of it? Can a language predictor grasp meaning?
-What is the actual meaning of 'AI'? Are current machine learning models really intelligence? What kind of models are used to 'make art'? Does that really produce art?
- Are there any ways you can think of in which a computer could make valid art without theft? What must change about the current system to reach that? Are there ways to do so in a morally sound way?
For the purposes of this poll, research is defined as reading multiple non-opinion articles from different credible sources, a class on the matter, etc.– do not include reading social media or pure opinion pieces.
Fun topics to research:
Can AI images be copyrighted in your country? If yes, what criteria does it need to meet?
Which companies are using AI in your country? In what kinds of projects? How big are the companies?
What is considered fair use of copyrighted images in your country? What is considered a transformative work? (Important for fandom blogs!)
What legislation is being proposed to ‘combat AI’ in your country? Who does it benefit? How does it affect non-AI art, if at all?
How much data do generators store? Divide by the number of images in the data set. How much information is each image, proportionally? How many pixels is that?
What ways are there to remove yourself from AI datasets if you want to opt out? Which of these are effective (ie, are there workarounds in AI communities to circumvent dataset poisoning, are the test sample sizes realistic, which generators allow opting out or respect the no-ai tag, etc)
–
We ask your questions so you don’t have to! Submit your questions to have them posted anonymously as polls.
#note that theft and immoral are not necessarily the same#if a thief takes my bike to save a life and plans to give it back#but an entire business model with no tangible benefits based on mass theft and disregard for consent is immoral#if there is no other way to operate your business that does not screw over everyone else you should maybe rethink your plans

Hello! Where do you look to get your rare INXS videos from that you upload to your channel? I'm asking because I'm trying to find some to purchase and just plain upload as well :)
ebay! actually most of what i've uploaded was from several discs i bought from one seller. their account is gone but once in a while i see a similar looking listing which makes it feel a bit sketchy. and tbh i think selling discs like this is questionable - a transfer of videotape onto dvd and probably made several times (i'm guessing) to sell. the only reason i bought them is because most of the vids they included didn't show up in searches on youtube or vimeo or whatever. basically i bought them for the purpose of uploading them lol also one of the discs was busted and only half of it plays but i can kind of see the rest of it and it kills me. i've posted screenshots of some of it. i die thinking about it, there's good footage but it's fucked up. :( so be aware of that possibility.
and uh i recommend checking to see if you can get whatever they're selling for free before you buy a fanmade dvd or cd. a lot of bootleg concerts are sold too and can be downloaded instead. ask me if you can't find one, if i've got it i'll give it to you. :) i don't remember if i've made a post about where i download that stuff.
i bought a couple cassettes too that i didn't see online anywhere. and if it's a cassette or a vhs tape, it can be transferred to a pc! takes work but i did it myself, don't let that be an excuse!! (you could ship it to me and i'll do it... i'd even pay for shipping)
anyway if you don't use ebay regularly, here's some tips:
use saved searches. i have 'inxs' and 'michael hutchence' saved. sometimes the michael search has things not in the other, though it's not a lot. most sellers put inxs in the description somewhere even if it's a max q cd. anyway, do your search, any filters you want (i don't use any but it means the search can be large and full of shitty t-shirts), then click save this search. you can set mobile alerts if you use the app. when i'm in full obsession mode, i'll check it as soon as i get the alert lol
use the watch feature. this is risky if it's something you 100% want because someone might just buy it out from under you. but if you're willing to risk it, watch it. some sellers will send offers to watchers. meaning a lower price. i bought an item recently that i watched over a period of months, each time it renewed i watched it again, and each time the seller sent an offer. there's an auto offer feature. point is, finally i decided i wanted it and sure enough, upon its renewal and me watching it again, i got the offer and accepted it. of course in that time, someone else could've bought it. but it's worth doing instead of bookmarking the listing like a regular webpage. the app can also notify you if a watched listing is ending soon and stuff like that.
if you ever see the atlantic records inxs wood cubes please send me a message immediately. i've lost two attempts at buying them and i'm obsessed with that and want them so bad it's stupid
also i'll be a bit of a jerk here and say: don't upload stuff with your watermark on it. :) one of the vids i put up on my channel, someone had already put it up but with their watermark. so i purposefully put it up without a watermark because it is not mine nor it is the fan's who uploaded it and stuck an ugly watermark in the corner. i am firmly anti-watermark. it is not mine or yours. if anything, you should put inxs in the corner or the record company or whoever the hell actually owns it. i know uploading stuff takes effort - i paid actual money on the cds/dvds and spent literal hours trying to figure out that broken disc but! it's still not my stuff and watermarks look ugly so i fundamentally disagree with plastering your name on this sort of thing. i am grateful to fans who upload stuff even with watermarks. but i think it's wrong. like ethically and visually.
okay sorry for complaints lol that's all, please share anything you can!
#i am attempting a telepathic link to a certain well known inxs collector#to upload that rare concert i swear to god i die knowing someone has it and only they can watch it!!!!!!!!#hell if they put it up with a giant watermark i'd keep my complaints to myself i swear to god

I have a question for you as a GIF maker:
What is you opinion on other GIF makers that get possessive over their GIFs? I mean the ones that watermark the crap out of them and post them with "this is MY work DO NOT save OR repost them" type of creators?
The ones the claim the content of the GIF as theirs type, I see their stuff and I'm just like... 🤨 uh you don't own anything in that GIF it belongs to the company and artist that posted the original video you TOOK segments from to make that GIF, it doesn't belong to you in the first place.
It just really irks me when I see GIFs i really like but the creator of the GIF is all bitchy about people saving them and sharing them.... if you didn't want people to do that then don't bother posting it on a public platform and just save it for ypurself. And if its watermarked whats the big deal? People will see you made it anyway.
But anyhow, I really like your GIFs btw and this has nothing to do with yours cause I like yours and that you just want to share them with everyone, there just happens to be another GIF maker I follow amd they get really obnoxious/bitchy about "their" GIFs being saved even though they watermark them
Again! I'm sorry I'm late to this and I wasn't ignoring this djdjd.
Before I fully answer this;; I think this goes for all gif makers;; the amount of time and energy that essentially goes into gif making can be a lot depending on ones giffing style and the programs etc that they use🥺
I don't think for me I've come across a gif maker who has that mentality of the these are my gifs! don't touch sksnsn type of thing. I think the only thing most gif makers want is credit in a sense that I edited the clip;; cropped it down and convert it to make a gif and added all these things to make it shareable (?) if that makes sense.
But!! from what you're saying is it's watermarked etc and they still don't want it to be saved and shared etc which I mean I don't know who this person is so maybe they've had a bad experience with that sort of situation. But I get where you're coming from in the sense it's bothersome to see when you're trying to enjoy their work and or want to share it :/ And being bitchy about it idk is the right way to go because edmdnjd. It'll only make people want to do what your asking them not to cause people are petty.
As for the claiming the gifs from a clip that isn't ours to begin with I get but in a different way of someone once told me I was giffing a certain video too much and I should leave some for the rest of the gif makers and I was like huh? dksjsj it's not yours why can't I gif the parts I want djdjd. But again;; I thi k everyone is different and some people out more into gif making then others so that could be their reasoning behind it which is completely okay and understand as a gif maker myself whose work wa since stolen on multiple occasions but I just gave up on trying to fight people about it if that makes sense. There are endless amazon co tent creators out there so I'm sure if a few don't really rub you the right way you can always find alternatives even if you love their gifs which is a compliment in itself but I 100% understand what you mean by being excessive about not sharing their work but thankfully the gif makers I've interacted with etc all love for their works to be shared so long as credit is given. 💜
Anyways;; this probably wasn't the answer you were looking for and I'm sorry djdjd but I hope it helped a bit and thank you for you kind words about my gifs 🥺 it means a lot to me 💜
#if it has a watermark especially a very VISIBLE ONE i don't see what the problem woukd be but again im not this perosn and i dont know who#this may be about but im sure they have their own reasoning dndnd#🥺#asks#sunflowers🌻

Lets talk about Instagram (And reposting in general)
I’m sure everyone has heard by now that reposting is a bad thing to do. I’ve been active on the internet for at least 15 years now. I personally can’t fathom why other people would repost someone else's work.
The only justification I can see for it, a poor justification, is that you want others to see the work. However, that doesn't translate to that artist/creator. I dont think that the vast majority of people who see the repost go find the original, regardless of credit or not. For instance-
Original
Repost on Instagram
Don’t get me wrong, crediting is WAY BETTER than not crediting. And I mean real crediting, not the whole ‘credit to owner’ bullshit. But there’s a difference of 149 likes/hearts/reblogs/comments (which I’ll call responses for now).
I don't know about other artists, but the amount of responses I get directly affects my work. I’ll be more invested in doing something if I know people want it. I had to put my original webcomic on hiatus because of how depressed the lack of responses was making me (at least here on Tumblr, on Tapastic I was getting a bit more). My point is, stealing work and the rewards from the artist can directly affect the artist's mental health/emotional health/confidence. WHEN YOU ARE RESPOTING, YOU ARE DIRECTLY HURTING THE ARTIST MORE THAN HELPING.
If you really want to support the artist, then reblog, don’t repost. I know it's not a feature to link to posts on Instagram, so encourage people to check out the original.
For instance, don't post a whole bloody comic, instead, show a teaser and then the address of the artist who produced the work for people to check out the rest of the comic.
But it upsets me how little reposters seem to understand that not only are they hurting the creators, they are infringing on their copyright and right over their content. They then play the victim when they get reprimanded for their illegal and immoral activities.
And this is a;; just from one account (which I’ve blacked out so they don’t receive hate.) I don't want people to hate them, I just wish they’d understand. According to the dates of posting, they posted this on the same day that I posted the original comic. What chance do I have of my work getting the attention I worked hard for when people do this? People are more likely to respond to something if its new to them.
Seriously, I don't make me put butt ugly watermarks all over my work.
