senku x gn!reader
set in ishigami village + volleyball player reader + fluff + light angst + light humor
as we know, senku isn’t very… sporty… fit… mm
“I’M DONE!” he heaves as he lays flat on the ground.
you huff, “we haven’t even started a match! all we’ve done is teach you the stances and-“
you go quiet when you know he isn’t even listening, his body is literally still as a dead body.
with a defeated, glum sigh, you walk away, teasingly walking over him to who knows where.
for certain, he’ll go back to his blueprints and try to please everyone except you.
first he saves ruri, then works night and day to prove how good his intellect is. it’s tiring, being on the side line.
speaking of side lines, you missed doing everything in your power to not have the ball go there.
you missed the thrill of running around, tensing your muscles for the ball’s impact and making up strategies to win
you sigh at the fond memory.
“so,” you jolt at someone’s voice, not having realized you were sitting on a rock and staring into space.
“kohaku,” you say with a gentle smile, not really in the mood to talk to anyone.
“what’s wrong? you seem pretty defeated, did you fight with senku?”
“hm? no, no we didn’t fight,” you shake your head.
“then?”
you turn to stare at her, fondly. “i don’t know man-“
“i’m a woman!”
“-i just miss playing volleyball. the thrill of it all. scraping your knees, your elbows when you fall from saving the ball. knocking into a groupmate and just… spending hours playing with friends… being competitive… i miss that.”
“volleyball…” kohaku mumbles, “is a game? sounds like a battle.”
you laugh, “almost! a battle to win and.. ah man,”
“woman.”
“i miss it.” you say, staring up into the sky. “i ask senku for just a moment…” you frown, “he has his own thing, something he loves. i don’t mind helping him, i know this is the best for humanity but, i just wish i had volleyball as my escape again.”
kohaku frowns, “what’s stopping you?”
you give her a look, “i don’t really have anyone to play with, senku made this ball for me and just gave it to me like he’s trying to get rid of a child.”
“that’s rude.”
“i guess,” you shrug.
“i still don’t get how you to are together,” she says honestly.
you smile, “me neither.”
she sees you sigh, looking anywhere with a saddened smile. “you know,” she starts, “while everyone appreciates the new things senku is showing and providing us, there’s no harm in learning games. after all, it’s something someone invented, right? something for people to also enjoy?”
you stare at her, surprised at this. “well.. yes-“
“then teach us! there’s lot’s of people in the village that would love a good competition! i’m sure sure of us warriors would be up for it!”
“are you serious?” you asks, heart racing with excitement.
“duh.”
and you stand up, following her back to the village. you see senku once more in his little world, a world you barely fit in.
but that’s okay, you’re looking forward to something more.
“volleyball!” you hear kohaku yell, “i dare you all to learn it and play!”
“hey, don’t force them-“ you try.
“it’s a game!” she grins.
“we have responsibilities, kohaku,” one of the warriors said.
“we could take a break,” another one says, “it’s pretty quiet today. “plus, games bring on challenges, no?” he asks you.
“well, yes. absolutely.” you smile, hoping you could at least round up four people.
“i’m down for a challenge!” another pipes up.
and soon, you got your six people, you and kohaku included. it was enough for you.
they were pretty good at listening and executing the practices and the stances. before long, they were ready to play.
it was so exiting, you’re pretty sure you were smiling the whole time, but your face doesn’t hurt.
what made you feel even better was that everyone else was enjoying it! two rounds later and a crowd started to form, mostly kids and teens but there was cheering and clapping.
you were soaring. and your team won.
“alright! guys! it’s getting dark!” gen says with a clap.
“that was great!” you laughed, drenched in sweat.
“water,” kohaku gasped.
“get your water over here please,” gen yells.
“good game guys! y’all learned fast!” you said as everyone ran towards gen.
“or you’re good at teaching,” senku’s voice came from behind.
you tensed, unsure whether to be petty or forgive him for his lack of attention and affection.
“maybe,” you end up saying. you don’t pay him more mind as you try to walk over to gen.
“here,” senku says, grabbing your arm with one hand and the other shoves water in your face.
“oh,” you take it awkwardly. “thanks.”
he stares at you before furiously wiping his hand on his coat.
you spit out the water you were gulping down. “you’re still disgusted with my sweat!?”
he makes a face, “why wouldn’t i be? you’re so sweaty!”
“senku, no one told you to touch me!”
“well i wanted to!” he pauses, “plus, we’re dating.”
“yet you still hate when i’m sweaty.”
“it’s unhygienic.”
you rolls you eyes. and the two of you are enveloped in a slightly stiff silence.
“it’s been a while since i’ve seen you like that.”
“three thousand seven hundred years.” you say casually as you gulp down the rest of the water.
he stares at you, a look you can’t quite decipher. “yeah.” he scratches his neck, looking away. “i’ve always liked seeing you play.” he pauses, “i hope you had fun.”
you stare at him for a second. then you smile, “i did.”
“sorry i suck at that. i know you’re upset.”
“it’s fine, guess it’s just been so long since i’ve seen you that i really wanted to spend time with you.”
“can’t fault you for that.” he says, sparing you a glance. he almost seems ashamed.
“you hungry?” you ask.
he’s about to shake his head but he remembers he hasn’t eaten all day. instead, worked and every now and then watched you play.
as he watched you eye a food cart, he remembers how the two of you would eat at one after school, especially after your practices.
with a smile, he nods and takes your hand, which you grin at.

Come to me
PART 1 - next
Summary. After what happened in a relationship in the past, you found it difficult to trust someone with the gentleman image. 'Gentleman' seems like merely a concept and it was probably impossible for someone to be a genuine one. Now that you're stuck with the number one gentleman at campus for a group project, how would you cope with the one and only Joshua Hong?
Genre. College!au, non-idol!au / friends to lover
Pairing. Joshua x y/n x a little bit of S.Coups, and a sprinkle of Wonwoo
a/n: my brain cannot make plots with ‘y/n x ???’ like those awesome smau writers. anyway this is the first svt series i write! as i’m practicing smau, there will be some parts with texts and social media too! i’ve gotten into svt not long ago and yeah picking a bias in svt is like you pick one and you get 12 for free. if you have time to let me know what you think of this, i’d appreciate it somuch! i can’t update regularly so i don’t think im gonna make taglist like other writers. but if you’d like to be tagged, don’t hesitate to say so! stay safe and stay healthy everyone!! xoxo
Tumblr media
"I guess it's just Jisoo now," Johnny informed you for a group project.
It was surely not the first time you encountered people with the same name. Since your school days, there would be at least two Lee Jieuns, three Kim Jonghyuns, and many Minhos or Jaehyuns with various surnames. You just had to ask which one of them if any of your friends mentioned their names without the surname. This, of course, happened until college. One day when you were assigned for a group project, Johnny Suh, the oldest member in your group, asked you to find someone named Jisoo so all of you could gather and start working on the project. Unusually, you didn't ask which Jisoo it was. You were quite certain that you had met two Jisoos since the first day of college. So you thought it would be a piece of cake to find one of them.
"Hey, I've met Kim Jisoo and she said she had taken this class. I spoke to other Jisoo, that guy who goes anywhere with Jieun. He also didn't take this class." You looked at your groupmates, confused.
"I asked Choi Jisoo too. She does take this subject but not the one with Professor Choi," added Suhyun.
You tilted your head, slightly curling your eyebrows. "Is there another Jisoo?" you mumbled with your lips pouted.
"That would be me."
You and the other friends look up at the deep voice that came out of nowhere. The puzzled look was not only appeared on your face, but also on all your groupmates.
"Joshua?" you said his name in confusion, exchanging looks with Johnny and Suhyun.
"Wait a minute." Johnny rushed to dig his bag, searching for a piece of paper that he got from the professor's assistant regarding the group members. Now that he remembered he might not have told you which Jisoo that should be on your group. "Hong Jisoo? Hong Jisoo is Joshua Hong?"
"That's correct," he answered with his unfazed face.
Joshua Hong was a transferred student who came in the second year. You were 200% sure that on his first day, he introduced himself with the name Joshua. That was the one and only information you knew about him. How were you supposed to know that he officially enrolled with his Korean name? Even all the lecturers call him Joshua too. Even Johnny, the social butterfly who knows everyone, who was also a transferred student from the States didn't talk much to him. But again, you never really noticed who your classmates were. The class was always too big, which was the excuse you'd always use.
"Anyway," Suhyun broke the silence. Finally. You were too dumbfounded that you just froze still, trying to process and make sure that Johnny didn't mistake the group members. "Let's just get started because we still have a lot to do, shall we?"
You let Suhyun and Johnny divide the workload for the four of you. And somehow Johnny decided to make pairs so you can work in 2 subgroups. Being a wise man as he claimed to be, he wouldn't let you pick Suhyun to pair with you, saying that every process had to be fair and square. You gave him a judging look, since you knew he also wanted to be with Suhyun because it can be said that she was one of the brightest in class.
"Let's draw," Johnny initiated. He got a pouch—your pouch which he took with force—that was filled with markers and continued, "There are 2 pink and 2 black markers. So, good luck with your hands."
The four of you took turns to pick the marker, starting from the boys. Johnny, who got a pink marker, grinned wide at you, slightly giving a victory vibe, just when Joshua picked a black one. You glared at him. When the chance was 50:50 between Johnny and Joshua, you couldn't even think of anything. First of all, you were not familiar at all with this Hong Jisoo. You had no idea what his pace was like. And you might not be able to order him around. Second, when it came to Johnny, obviously you were much closer with him. You were friends after all. But you knew his pace. You can give him orders and commands but it didn't mean that he would do it. So there were possibilities that you might have to do all the big work unless you were willing to have adrenaline rush, since Johnny was that deadliner type.
"Let's take it at the same time," Suhyun suggested, in which you agreed immediately. You gritted your teeth, hoping it would help you to not lose the poker face you were wearing. Then the markers of fate were revealed. Johnny almost jumped out of joy when the pink marker was in Suhyun's hand. He immediately gave Suhyun a high-five. Meanwhile you quietly turned to Joshua who had been silence since he joined the discussion. You tried to read his expression, but you looked away when his eyes searched yours.
"Anyway, let's get along and get this work done with good marks," Joshua initiated speaking.
You almost startled yourself after hearing clearly how soft Joshua's voice was. Like, it had somewhat a soothing effect to your ears. "Yeah, sure." You flashed him your best smile.
"Do you mind if I leave, like, now? Because I have to run some errands," he asked, still with that gentle, calming voice. The way he spoke and his aura certainly hit differently; it made him the weird one within your group which consisted of loud people. Sometimes you thought yourself to be a calm person too. But now looking at Joshua Hong, you started thinking that you might not be as calm as you thought.
"Yeah, no problem. We've got everything covered. Johnny will manage everything, including the online worksheet so you can just look up everything there. I'll let you know when it's ready."
"Okay, cool. I think Johnny has my number. So you can ask him."
You nodded, pretending to look just a little bit excited. After Joshua left, the fake smile on your lips disappeared and you let out a heavy sigh. Your face landed on your thick textbook. A small groan slipped off your mouth, showing your frustration which Johnny and Suhyun can't really find the reason why. They just didn't see why being grouped with someone like Joshua who had nothing but positive track record in public could be troublesome.
Johnny nudged you on the shoulder. "Hey, don't be like that. You don't even know him."
"I'll tell you a fun fact about him if that makes you feel any better." Suhyun unusually used her cheerful tone. You just knew it must be something unnecessary or something that you didn't want to know about. "Lately he becomes the it guy because he was spotted helping some freshmen, and suddenly he earned title of being a gentleman. Some of my friends also said that he always behaves with such a manner in parties. He doesn't get drunk and does stupid things, because he drinks in moderation."
Raising your head, your brows furrowed with your eyes squinting. "And why do I want to know about this?"
"She's saying that he's a catch. Who knows you're gonna get laid." Johnny clicked his tongue and winked at you.
Your eyes rolled as you sighed. "Not gonna happen. His first impression of me was not really good. I mistook him for an exchange student I was supposed to guide, so I dragged him here and there, causing him to be late on his first class—the evil Professor Lee's class! The next day I tripped over my own feet and basically threw my coffee at him." You groaned as you recalled the memory of meeting Joshua Hong for the first time. He was still as calm and quiet as now. But you can't really forget his expression when Professor Lee scolded him, and when he silently tried to wipe off the coffee stain on his white sweater. "Seriously, if you were him, you must hate me too. Even I hate me sometimes."
"Yeah, but you didn't do it on purpose?"
"Whatever." You stood up as you put back your stuff in your bag, getting ready to leave. "I'm not sure why but I feel guilty for mistaking him for another Jisoo. It's already awkward between me and him. Unless you want to switch partner—yes, I'm talking to you, John."
"It will only worsen the awkwardness between you if I say yes to switch."
Ugh, this giant has a point. But it was not like you wanted to make up to Joshua Hong. Or eventually, you had to? At least for the sake of this group project?

When my love blooms
BTS 8th member
Sunny’s masterlist
“Sunny's expeciences during When Our Love Blooms”
a/n: JUST FYI, Jinyoung plays a dude named Jaehyun and Sunny plays the character named Jisoo.  Your opinion is very important for me, send feedback and requests anytime 💜 Also, don’t be shy and interact a little, ask box is always open
Tumblr media
DAY 1
Looking at herself in the mirror, Sunny fixed her now brown hair and snapped a quick picture. Sending it to the BTS group chat with an “I should have bangs more often :p” she quickly locked her phone and put it away, leaving the small changing trailer the stylists had led her to.
“Sunny, let’s go this way so you can do a table reading before we start shooting” One of the producers called her to one big room where most of the staff were already seated in a big table.
Looking for her name tag, she saw her empty spot next to Got7’s Jinyoung, who was already seated playing on his phone. The few times Sunny had met him before, they never really interacted that much, since she usually stuck to talking to Bambam because they’ve known each other since trainees. Bowing respectfully, she sat down next to him trying not to stay too close.
“Excited to start shooting?” Jinyoung tried to make the atmosphere less awkward, turning towards her as he took a sip of his coffee.
“Yes, a little nervous as well” Sunny nodded, suddenly trying to remember all of the acting classes she had taken the week prior.
“You’ll be fine, table readings are a great way to get used to the storyline and build confidence in your character” he smiled sweetly at her.
Smiling a thanks to him, she paid attention as the director and producers started giving out tips to the actors and fully explaining the storyline to every little detail. “It’s important all of you get in sync with the ages you’ll be interpreting” was a sentence heavily repeated, since the story would be set in two different times.
After about two hours, when the meeting ended, the two idols stood up and grabbed their stuff from the table. “Your character is really in love with mine” Jinyoung nudged her with his elbow smirking.
“He’ll be just as whipped for her in less than two episodes” Rolling her eyes, Sunny joked back and started walking side by side.
Looking around to see if anyone was paying attention, she decided to share one of her worries with him. “I know this might seem out of nowhere, but I’m dating Sehun from EXO. And by what they said a few minutes ago there will be a lot of kissing involved. Do you think I should tell him about it?”
With wide eyes at the sudden confession, Jinyoung assessed the situation before speaking “Does he know you’re acting and I’m the love interest?” After Sunny confirmed he shrug his shoulder, face back to its relaxed state “Then it’s implied. Mentioning it to him would only make it look like it’s a bigger deal than it actually is”
Still a bit unsure about it, Sunny tried to assure herself it would be fine, Sehun had never been the jealous type and he looked very excited when she told him about the project. Sensing her uncertainty, Jinyoung placed a hand on her shoulder.
“Look, seventy percent of the shots will be manipulating camera angles and lighting, we’ll just need to stand very close to each other” She rose an eyebrow at the last part and he sighed “I swear everything will be strictly platonic, just try to look like you’re in love with me when the cameras are rolling” With a breathy laugh, Sunny calmed down a little.
DAY4
Stepping out of the fake bedroom, the girl grabbed a tissue handed by a staff member and started to dry a few tears. Waiting for the director to tell her what to do next, she looked around and found a very excited boy jumping and waving her way.
“Okay everyone, that’s enough for today” The middle-aged man shouted and Sunny took off towards J-Hope.
Engulfing her in a hug, he patted the top of her head and smiled brightly “I missed you so much. You’ve been working a lot lately, we barely see each other on the dorms since you always leave way too early and come home very late”
“It’ll only be for a couple of weeks. Here let’s go to catering, I haven’t eaten yet” Sunny grabbed his arm and took him to a bunch of trailers parked.
After she got her lunch, they sat down in a table and she started eating with him stealing a couple of bites here and there. “Jungkook said he will pay you a visit as well, he’s trying to set a date with Yugyeom so they can come together”
“He’s really tight with his 97 friends huh? I wonder if he would come at all if Jinyoung wasn’t in this” Sunny rolled her eyes remembering the many times she had to repeat what she had said because Jungkook was too absorbed in his group chat to pay attention.
“Let’s just be happy he’s making friends” Hobi smiled and Sunny laughed “I’m being serious, you were very quick to befriend other idols and do your thing, I thought Kookie would never leave our side”
“But he did talk to other people” Sunny tried to reason with him.
“Yeah, only when V or Jimin was around, the boy took introverted to another level” he looked around and reverted his gaze to her. “And you, have you made more friends here?”
“I talk with a few actors and the staff are nice I guess” Sunny shrug her shoulders “You just said I made friends easily, why so worried out of nowhere?”
“Because I know you” Hobi smiled gently at her “You probably spend most of your day worrying about doing a good job and studying the script. Not trying to break this to you, but I don’t think you’ll ever get the chance to do this again, do you really  want to let the experience pass instead of making connections and having the time of your life?”
Sighing, Sunny placed her arms on the table and looked around as well “It’s just, people here are always working. I know that seems like heaven for me, but it gets tiring only talking about techniques and obsessing over the storyline. Also, I don’t think other people are interested in talking with an idol. I’m like a choir kid who wanted to try out the drama club”
J Hope laughed at her comparison “I’m glad you’re not leaving Bangtan to become an actress then” He smirked and she rolled her eyes with a small smile “How about the other actors? I guess Jinyoung’s on the same boat as you”
“I guess so. We talk in between shots sometimes, he’s probably the closest I have to a friend” as she said that the boy raised his arms in victory.
DAY6 (yes, it was on purpose)
“Okay, cut” The director yelled and Jinyoung retreated his lips from the corner of Sunny’s mouth “Please don’t leave the phonebooth, I’m going to check if we need to do that once again”
With the amount of space restricted, Sunny rested her back on the glass and the Got7 member tried to back away as much as possible, but it wasn’t enough to be a respectable space.
“I’m sorry if this is awkward,”  Jinyoung said looking everywhere but at her. Not that Sunny knew because she was literally doing the same. “I’d open the door, but I’m sure he’d yell at me for doing so”
The girl didn’t have time to respond back, as someone yelled they were done for the day. Finally breathing properly, she stepped out of the small place and saw Yugyeom and Jungkook on the back watching the staff work.
Looking at Sunny with wide eyes, her groupmate walked very fast towards her and dragged her somewhere more secluded. “Do you know how intimate that looked?” he said like he was scared making the girl laugh.
“Well, it is a romantic drama. I’m sure it was supposed to look like that” she said shrugging her shoulders and leaving to get out of her costume.
Grabbing her arm again, Jungkook prevented her from moving “Still, it’s awkward. Aren’t you uncomfortable with it? We can talk to your manager and get them to change the script or something”
“Are you crazy?” Sunny put her hands on his shoulders and shook him a little, getting him out of his shock “They signed me to play their character, I’m sure they would straight up fire me if I did anything even remotely close to changing the scenes”
“Well… I-I’m uncomfortable with it” He stuttered a bit but ended up crossing his arms and fixing his posture as if he was some kind of authority, all Sunny did was raise an eyebrow at him “Sehun Hyung won’t like this either. Plus you’re like a child, isn’t this like, illegal?”
“I’m literally a year younger than you” she reminded him,
“Well, it’s legal then” He nodded “But, Sehun? Does he know this?”
“Of course, I’m not going to lie to him about where I spend most of my day”
“I’m not talking about that” it was Jungkook’s turn to raise an eyebrow, making Sunny sigh.
“I haven’t told him about the kisses, if that’s even what they are, but he does know I have a love interest” She linked arms with him and started walking towards a trailer, she desperately wanted to get out of those clothes and go home “I’m scared if I talk too much about it it’s going to seem like I care too much about what’s going on”
“But if you don’t it might seem like you’re trying to hide something” Jungkook pointed out being led by her “If it were me I’d want to know. I would probably become petty though”
“Yeah, you would” Sunny smiled at his personality.
“What do you mean by those not being kisses by the way?”
“Oh. Fake kisses are so boring, like, lips aren’t even fully touching. Plus, the real feeling of-”
“That’s enough” He cut her off flustered “ I already know that I don’t know why I needed for you to say it. Please forget I even asked”
DAY 7
“So, that’s what has been going on” Sunny said to her phone. Pacing from one side to the other on the empty makeup trailer.
“Okay” She heard Sehun’s muffled laugh on the other side “I already know you would be doing stuff like that. It does worry me a little that something made you feel like you had to tell me this now”
“I had talked with Jinyoung about this and he told me it wasn’t a big deal, but Jungkook came yesterday and said it would be better if you were aware”
“Oh, so you asked your fake boyfriend what to do about your real boyfriend?” Sunny could feel him smirking through the phone and unconsciously rolled her eyes.
“This really isn’t going to become a problem right?” She stopped pacing and faced her brunette figure in the mirror.
“Trust me it isn’t. You’re going to give me double the kisses to make up though” Sunny smiled at his silliness “I have to go right now. I love you”
“I love you too” she blew a kiss and he hung up.
Leaving the trailer, she saw Jinyoung also walking towards the set she was going to. “Hey, settled everything with the boyfriend?”
“Yeah, and he said he already expected it” Sunny started walking with him, the space between them enough to fit another person.
“I told you, you should have trusted Sunbae” Jinyoung smiled at her, using his nickname from the drama, and Sunny rolled her eyes once again.
“Keep talking like that, and I’ll have to start calling you Jaehyun” she spoke with a mischievous grin and it was his turn to roll his eyes.
“Aah Jisoo, your friendship means the world to me”
2 Months later
Sunny was laying on her bed while scrolling through social media and checking out people’s reviews on the latest episode when her notification bar rolled down showing a new message from Sehun
“Come to my place, we need to talk”
(please don’t kill me, pt 2 will be coming soon)

ateez reaction: filming an asmr video with an asmrtist s/o
➣ requested? X
➣ genre: fluff(prolly not but we’ll go w it), humor
➣ masterlist
A/N: yeah this was made entirely bc i was thinking about seonghwa getting scared over the fact that he made a nice sound in his one asmr vid so,,,, yeah. enjoy! :)
❅♩♬♩❅――
❥ kim hongjoong
Tumblr media
was iffy about the idea until he realized hey, the two of you could still make music, just much quieter
you’d probably film like,,,, asmr songwriting,,,,, where it’s just you two working silently on a song
in the beginning it’s really quiet, but you do get some sexy pencil/keyboard sounds 🥰💕
once he gets into the groove of things he’s very calm and focused, and that relaxing vibe transfers into the video
tries to do actual asmr triggers, but everything gains rhythm and before you know it heyyy this a pretty sick beat 😳
the song he ends up writing uses only asmr triggers for the instrumental along with very soft vocals, and bc this man lives and breathes music ITS A WHOLE BOP
10/10 content. would nap to again
❥ park seonghwa
Tumblr media
could not find gifs of his asmr video smh but anyways seonghwa, we know ur hot already, we get it. pls calm down
kq sir where’s the seonghwa asmr series the people don’t just want it, the people NEED it
was ready for this since before he exited the womb
since this man is already a whole asmrtist you’d film something like that “asmr friend tries giving me tingles” video
very excited by the expensive mic
“is this how you do it” except he really doesn’t have any reason to ask you, he already knows what he’s doing
gets REALLY shook whenever he makes a god sound
like remember the plastic wrap/facial mist moment he had in his own vid?? that x10
the video you post with him ends up your most viewed. not because of the emotional support kpop boy you got on the video, no it’s the extreme quality
❥ jeong yunho
Tumblr media
you guys would probably film SOMETHING with talking, maybe one of the asmr interviews w magazine does
except there’s a real asmrtist asking questions and a kpop boy to answer
REALLY good at soft spoken asmr. like the low rumble in his voice!?! mmm. 23/10 would tingle again
probably really good in general. like even if he doesn’t watch asmr normally will probably watch a number of videos before filming to make editing easier on you so the video is actually VERY GOOD
honestly he probably makes the best sounds in the video and you’re just like :o
“jeong yunho, where’d you learn how to do that” “👀 the nice russian lady on youtube”
overall a very relaxing experience
he’d probably end up filming w you again because of how smoothly it goes
well done jeong yunho
❥ kang yeosang
Tumblr media
does not have the slightest clue what the fuck he’s doing but he’s already quiet and gentle so you wouldn’t be able to tell
the very definition of fake it til you make it!
anyways you’d also probably have to film a semi-crackhead video with him to keep him engaged
yk the crush on 9 fast tapping relay thing w his 3 friends? i imagine that but w yeosang
maybe not the same exact concept, but like you’d definitely make something with the same relaxed “just playing around w my friends :)” energy
that being said yeosang is a package deal. if you have yeosang, at least one other member will make an appearance
but he’ll make sure it’s at least not the chaos lord wooyoung
idk his humor’s kind of underrated but it would definitely show in smth like that
like he’d actually produce good content, but his bloopers would be so funny that you can’t remove them, you just quiet them
the people would want him back anyways so he’d get better with time
10/10 recommend this mans as an asmrtist kq where’s the ateez asmr-
❥ choi san
Tumblr media
i was looking for a certain gif of him from the woosan tingle interview and i was unsuccessful but you know what? this is just as good if not better because SAN
a lil too psyched for this relaxation joint but issokay, he cute
y’all probably make some type of ear cleaning video bc remember how excited he was when they gave him the earpick 🥺
very focused on sound quality
squeaks whenever he makes a somewhat unpleasant sound
gets shiber into the video as an object to make triggers with
probably gets tingles somewhere along the way and just giggles to himself. it’s a little loud but please don’t edit it out
can and will recite ateez intros/outros. like he’ll just be vibing petting shiber then suddenly he’s leaning into the mic and just
“the freezing winds may make us-” he starts shaking shiber to emphasize his point “-shiverrr”
and what can you do but smile when all that separates you from the only man ever is a binaural mic?
one of the members whose end video is actually super high quality
❥ song mingi
Tumblr media
clueless. there are three question marks floating above his head at all times
like he’s actually trying, he’s just big and loud
follows you around like a lost puppy
tries VERY hard to copy whatever you do and it’s VERY cute
phases in and out of whispering but completely on accident, he’s lost
like yunho, actually has a nice soft speaking voice once he figures that shit out
cute smile when he’s actually producing good content
honestly tho for mingi to stay engaged you might have to play some sort of game
the video would probably be one of those “guess the trigger” games
like the one co9 made w his one friend? yeah that
mingi would end up with the chicken toy though
you’d have a lot of bloopers bc he either hits something/talks too loud/laughs but it’s okay, we stan song mingi!! and you know he wasn’t nearly as bad as a certain sagi groupmate he has!!!!
❥ jeong wooyoung
Tumblr media
my good nctzens, my fellow grass, you know the jsmr jeno filmed w jaemin that absolutely went to shit? that’s what you’re filming with wooyoung.
he’s jaemin, obviously
you’re probably gonna film some type of cooking asmr so he’s not BREATHING DIRECTLY INTO THE MIC
PLEASE don’t bring the electric mixer PLEASE make him whisk the batter like a “real man”
you probably get a shot somewhere along the way of him tossing an ingredient wrapper into the stratosphere or several
will lean into the mic to bring up a random tmi he remembered, all while breathing VERY heavily “ATINY DO YOU WANNA HEAR MY YOSHI IMPRESSION”
when he does that too he probably phases in and out of whispering in his excitement. your ears? wasted.
probably whisper yells too
the video ends up really short because wooyoung is too chaotic for this type of thing. record a normal cooking video with him next time, please.
❥ choi jongho
Tumblr media
actually relaxed, even gets the art of not breathing at the mic down very quickly and picks up filming tricks along the way
but since he’s still part of the chaos line you’d film something like the gibi/marno/goodnight moon collabs.
50% asmr misc. roleplay, 50% comedy film
an apple would make its way into the video YES he’ll break it
but far enough from the the mic that it doesn’t break you ears
and mr jongho is the master of keeping a straight face. the one pulling the stupid shit would be both of you, but ALL your noise cuts would be because YOU laughed, not him
maybe if you two had a brain this would’ve been the most successful endeavor but nope y’all take “no thoughts, head empty” way too seriously for that to happen
anyways stan choi jongho, aka my fav grocery store

around and around - two
Tumblr media
pairing: cho seungyoun x reader, kim wooseok x reader
au: idolverse
warnings: none
wordcount: 3.9k
description: you’ve had a one-sided crush on your close friend seungyoun for who knows how long, but things don’t stay so black and white when he introduces you to his new groupmate kim wooseok.
next
“Cool outfit.”
You talk through the mouthful of noodles you’re currently chewing, as Seungyoun spins around in front of you in his blue and black ensemble.
“I know, right?” he says, looking excited. “I think these are the best ones since the first outfits.” “What, your red ones?” at his nod, you nod back. “Yeah, those were cool too.” “What would you even call this style?” Seungyoun asks, checking himself out in the mirror to your side. “Like, techy or something?” “I was thinking dark superhero,” you suggest, slurping up some more noodles. “Don’t you have to go soon? I feel like your leader will be mad at me for taking up your time.”
“Seungwoo-hyung?” Seungyoun shakes his head. “No way, he’s not that strict with me and Wooseok since we’ve already experienced all of this stuff.”
“Oh,” you hum, finishing up the last of your cup noodles. You know you really shouldn’t have eaten that, but ever since your head manager Sungjoon went on leave a few weeks ago, your female managers have been a lot less picky about what the four of you are eating- and you’ve all been taking advantage of that.
“By the way,” you speak up again as you take the ramen cup over to the sink to wash it out so you can recycle it. “How’s Kim Wooseok?”
“Wooseok?” Seungyoun sounds a little confused. “I mean, he’s good. Did you guys talk a lot or something?” “Not really,” you reply honestly, tossing the ramen cup in the recycling and going to sit back down on the couch, smoothing your hands over your pants. “Just a little bit.”
Truthfully, you haven’t spoken to Wooseok since those very brief texts a few weeks ago. You did see him just for a moment earlier when you went to drop by X1’s waiting room, which is when Seungyoun decided he wanted to hang out with you while the other music show performances were going on.
You’d been nervous at first, about hanging out with Seungyoun. You thought he might ask you why you left in such a rush that day, and you still felt a little awkward, honestly. But he hadn’t, and the two of you have known each other long enough to start talking with few inhibitions.
“He asked if you were feeling better, right?”
Surprised, you frown as your head snaps over to Seungyoun, who’s now leaning against the makeup counter in the room. “Huh?”
Your friend frowns back at you. “Wooseok told me you hurried back that night because you were suddenly feeling sick. He said you mentioned it while I was gone. I gave him your number so he could ask if you were feeling better.”
“Oh, right,” you nod, smiling, going along with the story. “Sorry, it’s been a long week so it kind of slipped my mind. Yeah, that’s all he asked about.”
The conversation goes on until both of you decide it’s time to go back to your respective groups to touch up makeup before you go on stage, but something keeps nagging at you.
He couldn’t even bother to ask you himself if you were feeling better, even though Wooseok told him you were sick.
Does he even care at all?
That night, you stare at your phone, the empty text bar staring back at you, somehow feeling menacing. You’ve typed out the message a few times, then decided there’s no point to sending it, then feeling the urge to send it again.
You sigh in frustration, writing it out one more time.
Wooseok-ssi, did you tell Seungyoun that I was sick a few weeks ago? When we all had dinner?
“Whatever,” you mutter, pressing send spontaneously and then chucking your phone to the other end of your bed so you can pretend you didn’t just send that.
Ding!
You groan. You just threw it over there, and now you have to sit up and reach all the way across your bed?
Despite the inconvenience, you lean over and grab your phone from where it had been precariously sitting halfway off of the edge of your bed.
Yes. You were acting weird so I had to make something up.
You don’t know what you were expecting, but Kim Wooseok really just seems like a straightforward type of guy.
You roll over onto your stomach, trying to think up a reply. Or should you even reply? It’s not like you’re friends with him, and he already answered your question.
Oh, well, thanks for that! Seungyoun-oppa suspected nothing thanks to you :)
That message might be a little bit cringy, but you’re just trying to come off as nice to him, since he probably already has a weird impression of you with the way you reacted to him realizing you like Seungyoun.
If you’re so thankful, give me money or something
You let out a snort at his response. Okay. Maybe this guy isn’t as cut and dry as you thought. You’re trying to think of something witty to respond with when your phone dings again.
Good luck on continuing your promotions, Y/N-ssi. Goodnight.
You smile a little at the thoughtful message.
Thanks, goodnight!!
You send your own message of goodnight back, then set your phone on your nightstand, knowing you should get to sleep.
Jamiezzz wooahhhhh, Y/N!!!!! you look hot 😋😘
You laugh at Jimin’s message in the groupchat. Along with her text, she’d sent a few of the pictures from your latest sportswear endorsement. You and Soohyun had done the advertisements together, and while your youngest groupmate had felt totally comfortable in the skin-tight clothing, you were a little awkward during the whole thing. You guess it turned out well though, since the pictures of you Jimin attached honestly did look pretty hot.
Hyunggu🤪 There will be an article with 48739857382 comments about these pictures in like 2 hours, bet
Beoneon I thought you did this photoshoot with Soohyun Y/N?
You thirst over my lil sis again and I’ll fight you for real if we ever end up on a show at the same time
You cackle as you send your reply to Vernon, knowing he had asked his question with total innocence, and would be really embarrassed to read what you implied.
“Look that way,” the stylist doing your hair points to the left, so you look that way, awkwardly holding your phone up to your face so you can see the screen still.
Beoneon I literally didn’t mean it like that but ok
Jamiezzz guys do better you need to hype Y/N up NOW!!! she said this was a challenging thing for her
You hahahaha its ok
Hyunggu🤪 So I have to hype up Y/N but all my pics just get roasted? Make it make sense
Jamiezzz that’s cuz you a fool
You chuckle to yourself at your friends’ antics, then scroll back up and look at the photos of yourself again. Why hasn’t Seungyoun said anything?
Well… he’s probably busy. But then again, his group ended promotions two weeks ago when you last saw him at MCountdown. They probably just got back from Thailand yesterday. Your fingers hover over the photos. It’s not that you’re worried about what he thinks of how you look. You’re just curious.
Youn You worked hard, Y/N👍🏻
You read the message probably ten times over as soon as it pops up on the screen, unable to keep a giddy smile from rising on your lips.
Until that’s all that he says, the conversation in the group chat going on without him.
You worked hard.
You set your phone down in your lap, a frustrated sigh passing your lips. He won’t even say that you look pretty. He’s never really said something like that. He probably doesn’t even think of you in those kind of terms.
“Something upsetting happen?” the stylist asks you. You smile at her through the mirror. “Nothing important.”
This time, at a get-together with all of your friends, plus Kim Wooseok who has tagged along again, you don’t sit next to Seungyoun. You doubt he notices, but you did it on purpose.
It’s not really dinner out somewhere like you usually do- you all just decided to hang out, drink beer around a floor table at Jimin’s apartment. You’re leaving to go on a trip with your members to film for your reality show in a couple of days, and Vernon is on a short break in between tour dates, so it’s the last time you’ll all be able to gather for at least a few weeks.
“Aren’t you two tired? I feel like you guys have been working nonstop for the past two months.” Nathan, who has finally made an appearance at one of your gatherings, refills everyones’ glasses with beer.
“Uh-huh,” Vernon answers halfheartedly, leaning back against the couch behind you. You pick up your glass and take a swig. “Tired is an understatement.” “That new manager isn’t giving you guys a break, huh?” Jimin asks you, which you nod at. “Yeah. He booked us to film a CF the literal day after we get back from Hawaii.” “Too bad that Sungjoon guy quit,” she hums, offering you a sympathetic expression.
You’ve been doing a good job tonight, of pretending like you don’t have feelings for Seungyoun. You’ve been talking a lot more to Vernon and Jimin since they’re next to you, and with all the drinking games going on, there hasn’t been a whole lot of group conversation.
That changes, though. Of course it does.
“Out of beer!” Hyunggu eventually announces, gesturing around to all of the empty glasses on the table. “Who’s going to get more?”
You stand, brushing down your clothes. “I will. I need some fresh air.” “Someone go with her,” Jimin mutters, slumped over on the couch. “It’s a dangerous world for women.”
You roll your eyes, ready to object-
“I’ll go. Come on, Y/N.”
Surprised, you look over as Seungyoun stands up, scooting behind Wooseok and Hyunggu to get into the main part of the living room.
“Alright,” you say, shrugging to seem nonchalant. “Be right back,” you tell your friends, grabbing your bag off of the kitchen counter.
Seungyoun puts his hand on top of your head as soon as you walk out the door of the apartment, ruffling your hair. “No more drinks for you when we get back, okay?” “What?” you laugh and give him a skeptical look as his hand slides down from your head to wrap around your shoulders. “Cho Seungyoun, I have the right to get wasted before I go on vacation.” “You already drank a lot,” he says, shaking you gently. “Your new manager will get mad at you.” “How do you even know that,” you grumble, even though he’s totally right. “I can tell,” he says, smiling down at you.
Your heart is beating furiously fast.
Seungyoun looks the best like this, you think. When he has no makeup on, and his hair is just falling over his forehead unstyled, and he’s wearing a hoodie and jeans. When his smile is calm and relaxed and for you. When he doesn’t feel like a public figure, who people know and love, but just him. Just Seungyoun.
He lets go of you when you get into the elevator, and immediately you miss the feeling of his arm wrapped around you.
“The two of us haven’t hung out together in a long time,” Seungyoun comments as the elevator starts descending. You glance over at him and he meets your eyes. “And you keep being too busy.” “I’m not the only busy one between us,” you tell him, patting his arm. “Anyway, we’re hanging out right now.” “We’re just going to the convenience store to get beer,” he chuckles. “Kind of a boring hangout session if you ask me.”
That stings. You look away, at the elevator doors, at the ground. Anywhere but at him.
You wish you could tell him. It’s not boring to you, doing something like buying cheap beer at a corner store with him. It doesn’t matter what you’re doing if you’re doing it with him. But you guess that he’s bored with you unless something fun is going on.
“Yeah,” you agree softly.
“Anyway, let’s hangout when you get back! When both of us are less busy, obviously.” Seungyoun continues the conversation without even a pause. “I don’t think that’s really possible, though,” you respond, feeling half-hearted now that you’ve been reminded that his smiles and gentle touches mean nothing to him. “You’ll probably have a comeback and then it’s award season.”
“We’ll make time for it somewhere,” he says, then holds out his pinky as the elevator doors open. “Promise?” You look up at him, reluctant, but give in, hooking your pinky around his. “Promise.” “Yay!” Seungyoun shakes your joined pinkies, then lets go of your hand to open the door to the apartment complex, leading you out into the crisp air of Seoul at night. “I’ll hold you to it.”
What happened last night?
You’ve read Kim Wooseok’s message a few dozen times at this point. He sent it this morning, at around ten. It’s ten pm now, and you still haven’t answered.
You’d figured he would have noticed that your mood was a little dampened after you came back to Jimin’s apartment with Seungyoun, more alcohol in tow. Even though Seungyoun advised you to stop drinking, the way he kept smiling and laughing cluelessly made you want your mind to be a little foggy. You’d been a little quiet, but that’s how you get when you drink anyway, and your friends probably hadn’t noticed anything different.
But Kim Wooseok seems to have the perceptive skills of a fortune teller.
You and Soohyun had gone to get dinner together after doing a pretty long vlive earlier, but now you’re alone by the Han river, having wanted some time to yourself to think before you go on the trip with the girls.
Your thumbs hover over the screen, but instead of typing, you just sigh, looking out over the river. You like the river a lot. When you were a trainee, you used to come and sit on the banks with the other trainees and eat snacks from the convenience store after practice. You were supposed to be studying when you didn’t have practice, but you always thought if you debuted, you wouldn’t need to have good grades anyway.
You’d been really stressed out, in those days. Worried about your debt to the company, whether you were good enough to debut, missing class all the time to go to special dance seminars. You’d been so anxious about the company finding out that you went on a date with one of your classmates that you told him the next day you didn’t think you could actually date him.
You should’ve just dated him. Maybe then you would have gotten in trouble, and then never developed an interest in Seungyoun because the experience of getting yelled at by the CEO would have scarred you.
You shake your head, laughing a little at yourself.
Ding!
Expecting a text from one of the members or your manager, you look down at your lap, eyes widening when you see the text.
Are you sitting by the river right now?
“What the…” you stand up immediately, looking around with a frown. Is Kim Wooseok literally a fortune teller or something? A psychic? Whatever someone who can see the future is called.
How did you know that?!?!
You text back, squinting to try and see if anyone walking around looks like him.
Hold on.
“Hold on?” you repeat out loud, in awe. What is going on?
You stand there in confusion for about twenty seconds, until someone walks off of the bridge that’s nearby and starts walking directly towards you.
“Are you a psychic?” you ask Kim Wooseok when he approaches you, hands tucked into his coat, mask over his mouth, glasses on. You see his cheeks lift up slightly like they do when he barely smiles. “Yup.” You give him an incredulous look. “Be honest.” “Are you telling me you actually believe in psychics, Y/N-ssi?” Wooseok says, his head tilting slightly to the left. “I was walking with a friend and saw you.”
You squint at him, not answering. This time he actually laughs, probably in disbelief. “What? You believe in psychics more than that?”
“No,” you start, crossing your arms. “That just doesn’t make sense. You don’t even live over here. It’s nighttime so it’d be hard to see me even from close by, but you somehow spotted me from that bridge?” “So what, you think I’m stalking you?” Wooseok says, looking unimpressed. “I’m just saying it’s weird,” you reply, clasping your hands together and looking around. You hear Wooseok chuckle under his breath, which kind of surprises you because he’s usually pretty serious.
“Anyway…” you start, since your legs are tired from all the dancing you did in your vlive earlier. “Want to sit down?” Even though you can’t see his whole face, you can tell that Kim Wooseok is skeptical. “On the pavement?” “Hey, there’s a step!” you point at where you’d been sitting before. Yeah, it’s just the side of the river, not one of those pretty grassy banks, so it’s just concrete steps. “Well, even if you won’t, I am.” you sit back down, stretching out your legs.
“Whatever,” you hear Wooseok mumble, and then sit down next to you.
A few seconds pass in silence, and then he speaks up again.
“It was really easy to spot you because you’re not wearing a mask, and you’re wearing the same sweater you were yesterday.”
You look over at him with wide eyes, and then down at yourself, and then laugh. “Oh, yeah, I guess you’re right. It was on my chair so I just put it on before coming out.” “Why don’t you wear a face mask?” Wooseok asks, sounding curious. “Don’t you care if people notice you?” You shake your head, leaning back on your hands. “People don’t really come up to me at night even if they recognize me. I think that happens more with male idols. Anyway, masks are stuffy and I’m not doing anything bad so I’m gonna show the world my face.” Wooseok shrugs. “As long as you don’t care if Dispatch tracks you down or something like that.” “Are you nervous?” you grin mischievously as you look sideways at him. “There could be an article out tomorrow about us meeting each other at night.” He glares. “Don’t even joke about that. My career would take a blow.” “What about my career?” you ask, scrunching up your brows. “That part isn’t relevant to me.”
“Pfft,” you flip your hair over your shoulder. “Whatever. I’m sure even if they got pictures of us your company would pay anything they asked to make sure nothing would get released.” “Probably.”
“By the way,” you say, looking at Wooseok out of the corner of your eye, a little sheepish. “Sorry I ignored your text. It’s kind of awkward that you showed up out of nowhere before I replied.”
“I expected you to ignore it,” he says. “You seem bad with confrontation.” “You can say that again,” you mutter.
“...He said something, didn’t he?” Wooseok says, looking over at you. “Seungyoun.” You match his gaze, teeth biting into your bottom lip. You look away. “It’s not that he said something in particular. It’s just that sometimes I realize that… that he just doesn’t care about me the same way I care about him.”
Wooseok is quiet for a moment, then he sighs under his breath, but he doesn’t talk.
“Sorry,” you tug on your fingers, chuckling although you know it sounds kind of strained. “I don’t mean to complain to you, I know we’re not really friends or anything…” “You don’t talk about your problems to people, do you?” he says, turning to face you. Still fidgeting, you shrug. “Just my members sometimes, I guess. I don’t want to trouble anyone.” Wooseok sighs again, a sharper sound this time. He looks away from you, and out of your peripherals, you can see him looking up at the sky. “I get that.”
“Well if you have problems, you can tell me about them if you want,” you blurt out, not really knowing why. Wooseok looks at you, his expression a mix of surprise and confusion. “I’m a good listener and I give good advice.” “Nothing about how you handle your personal issues makes me believe that.” You bite your lip again. “I mean… I’m good at giving other people advice, I’m just bad at implementing it in my own life.” He pauses, then gives a short nod. “Hm.”
“How about this then?” you say, turning towards him completely. “I’ll be your personal advice-giver, and in return, you can keep me updated on Seungyoun.” “Updated?” Wooseok looks unconvinced. “I told you I’m not a stalker.” “Not like that,” you roll your eyes. “I just mean, like… I don’t know. Bring me up and see what he says. Or, if he shows interest in another girl. I want to know so I can force myself to give up on him if things look too dire.” “I think things are already dire for you,” Wooseok mutters, but it sounds like he made it purposefully loud enough for you to hear. He speaks up louder after that. “I don’t want your bad advice, but I’ll help you if you buy me food.”
Well. That’s honestly probably a better idea.
“Deal.” you hold out your hand. Wooseok looks at it, still seeming skeptical, then reaches out and grasps it. His hands are pretty, you notice, as he shakes yours once, firmly.
“Don’t be weird about it,” he says, a warning tone in his voice. “What?” you scrunch your nose. “I’m not weird.” At this, Wooseok laughs. Actually laughs, not the awed one from before. “Not weird? I’m amazed you even said that.” “Whatever,” you shrug, leaning back on your hands again. “People like my personality.” “I’m sure your fans find it… endearing.” “Why’d you have to say endearing like that?!”
“What’re you so peppy for?” Eunmi asks when you get back to your apartment. You shrug, dropping your keys in the dish by the door. “Just ‘cause.”
She gives you a doubtful look as she mixes up what looks like some bibimbap at the breakfast bar. “Did Cho Seungyoun text you or something?” “Nope,” you say, popping the p. “I’ll see you in the morning, unnie!” “Huh?” she calls after you. “L/N Y/N, I swear if you went out to see him-”
You shut your bedroom door behind you, feeling very content.
You pull out your phone, tapping on Kim Wooseok’s name, and snap a selfie with the peace sign up to send to him.
Let’s work hard, Wooseok-ssi! Pick a place to eat, for when I get back from Hawaii~~
A few minutes go by while you take off your makeup and do your skincare routine before you check to see if he’s responded.
Just go to sleep
You nod to yourself. That seems like him.
You sleep well that night.

Mino was anxious, anyone who saw him at this time could say it, it is not known if by the way in which his eyes moved at a fast speed for every damn corner of the room, the fingers in his mouth already lacking a perfect manicure or leg that moved from top to bottom without stopping.
A hand was pressed on said leg causing him to stop when he felt her nails digging into his skin through the pants. He looked up, meeting the face of a seemingly annoying Lee Chaerin.
"Stop" She said without taking her eyes off the screen of her phone, she was answering messages from the couple's close friends since given the situation, none were able to answer "You are making me nervous."
"How do you think I am, noona?" The youngest snorted but still listened to his sunbae and took another position in the chair. He looked at the door with a frown "Is everything okay?".
"Of course everything is fine, but moving your leg like a kangaroo is not going to help at all" She made a gesture with her hand pointing the obvious and returned to her work causing the silent VIP waiting room of the hospital to be filled with noise of long nails crashing into the glass of her phone's screen.
Mino looked over his shoulder at the conversation she was having with Jay, who was on his way with Dara's parents and Donghyuk. A message from her sister appeared at the top of the screen warning that she and his parents were on their way, was followed by one of Dai who informed him that the Rae siblings were on their way except Dahye who was in a plane. He smiled slightly although he felt a bit sad not having his groupmates with him that special day since they had to continue with the planned agenda.
The door of the room rang calling the attention of both. Dr. Fujioka appeared with a facial expression that the boy failed to decipher causing his nerves to get even worse. He got up from the seat as if it was burning.
"Is everything okay?" Although he struggled to say those words, that he was dying to be able to speak, his throat failed him and Chaerin had to take command of the situation, just as she had done throughout the entire night like when Dara broke waters and drove to the hospital while calming them both when he had to have been the one who would drive while calming his wife but he couldn't because he screwed up, he was going to be a father and he was excited and scared about it.
"There have been some complications as we speak, due to the interruption of the first pregnancy but we have been able to overcome it and everything is fine. She is fine and they are too. "He smiled, taking a weight off him.
Minho let out a gasp of emotion and ran to the doctor, planting a kiss on her cheek as he laughed uncontrollably making Chaerin growl.
"I don't know what Dara saw in you," She muttered, separating him from the poor woman, who had remained static instead. She smiled politely. "I'm very sorry, you know, first time parents. Can we come in?".
"Oh! Of course" Despite the strange, comical and uncomfortable scene that just starred, the woman managed to continue with her smile drawn on her face. She pushed the door lightly with her right hand "Babies are in another room, they are cleaning and making them pretty. In a while they will bring them."
"Have you heard, noona? My babies" He looked like he was going to explode in tears as he entered the room, absorbed in the excitement of knowing his children but his feet stopped when he saw that his sunbae was not following him "Aren't you coming?".
"You go, I'll go find Jay and your families" She gave him a complicit smile before hugging him, surprising "Congratulations, now you're dad."
"I'm a dad" He repeated in a whisper that was hidden in the gray tufts of the girl "I can't believe I'm a father."
Chaerin wiped the little tear that danced down her cheek as she separated from him "Believe it, because you are."
He waited for her figure to disappear from his sight to enter the room. He took a breath and pushed the door being greeted by the image of his exhausted wife lying on the bed. He smiled biting his lower lip, the sound of the metal ring crashing into his teeth caught her attention.
"Hey" Dara smiled and, just as it always happened that she was smiling at him, he ran out of breath. Although the little makeup she wore had run down her face, that her skin was slightly soaked with the sweat of the effort to bring his children into the world and that her dark circles were so dark, for him she was still an angel.
He approached her gently and kissed her lips, bringing a hand to her hair to caress her. He parted their lips but their foreheads were still against each other "Hello" He whispered feeling like he was drowning in that green sea that were her eyes "How are you?".
"Tired, I just want to sleep" She pouted out a laugh from her side. She patted the bed inviting him to lie beside her, which he did immediately letting her lean on him "I've seen them before they were taken away."
"How are they?" He asked, playing with the ring he had put there. She laughed vaguely enjoying his warm and familiar caresses.
"Honey, all newborns are ugly. Pinky, a little bald and old-faced" This time it was he who laughed but in a strident way. He patted her hand lightly.
"Don't call our children ugly!".
"True, I'm sorry." A few seconds in silence were enough for both of them to start laughing.
"You're right, they are ugly, but our children aren't, okay? They are beautiful, that is, have you seen their parents?".
"God, you're an idiot".
A gasp escaped from his lips "Really? Okay, I want divorce".
"I just gave birth to your children, twins, after fifteen hours so don't even think that you will get rid of me after this" She pointed with the index finger "threatening" making him smile, she looked so adorable trying to look intimidating —something that usually came naturally— although at the same time all she was was fucking adorable.
He kissed her forehead "I had no plans to get rid of you, ever."
The green eyed opened her mouth to respond but the sound of the door opening followed by a few steps interrupted her. They both turned their heads toward the hallway that led to the room meeting their family and finally....Chaerin and Jay with the babies in their arms.
"Here are the super stars of the night" Chaerin smiled with King in her arms. Mino approached her to look at his son.
"Aw honey, you've done so well." Mrs. Song sent her a smile as she leaned on her son's arm to see her grandson.
"How are you?" The oldest of the Rae siblings asked kissing his sister's forehead.
"Tired, but it was worth it," she replied, watching her husband smile from ear to ear looking at their son. She smiled and let her head fall against the pillow.
She felt someone's lips on her cheek and from the perfume that filled her nostrils she knew it was her mother, she smiled, accepting her hand against hers "You have done very well, xiâolóng."
"Where are the others?" She asked once everyone had approached her to greet her and congratulate her on the splendid work she had done in making such an effort. She looked at her mother with King in her arms, Violet was still in Jaebum's arms since he refused to give her to her father.
"Oh, Dai and Daniel have gone to buy something to eat since Dani was hungry and Dahye sent a message an hour ago that she had already left the airport so she will be on her way" Her father replied looking at his phone to check if any of his three youngest children had sent him a message again.
"And Hyuna?" Her eyes turned to her older brother, who scratched his nervous neck and opened his mouth to respond but was interrupted.
Chaerin smiled at both families "Well, why don't we go to the cafeteria and wait for them there? In the meantime we can let the new family enjoy some time alone” She removed her hands from Dara's shoulders and rose from the bed, but not before giving her a smile.
"Yes, I think it's good idea" The grandparents accepted and left the room, being led by Mino's sister. Donghyuk sighed getting up from the chair he had sat on and left the room in silence.
"Jay" The grey haired woman approached the tattooed, who had not said a word at the time they had been there, had not even moved only had stayed in a part of the room with Violet in his arms and a facial expression that nobody knew how to describe.
"Hmm?" He replied but still did not take his eyes off the baby. Lee frowned and looked at their friends, Mino shrugged while Dara laughed.
"We have to go, give her to her parents" She pointed to the couple sitting on the bed with her arm making him finally look up from the pale face of the baby girl, he pouted.
"But she's so small and so cute, can't I keep her?" He pulled her closer to his chest in a protective act.
"Give it to her father if you don't want me to get you out of here by pulling your ear” She raised an eyebrow and put her hands on her hips to prove her point.
"I would listen to her, she is capable" The newly converted father responded by running a hand down his leg, remembering fake nails digging into his skin a few hours ago.
The man snorted before placing the baby in her father's arms, looking at all the adults with a bad face before his lips became a big smile when Violet took his index finger between her small fist.
"Aw" He sucked his nose feeling like crying "I'm going to buy you a lot of things, little Violet. You're going to be my little princess, yes. Uncle Jay is going to spoil you a lot".
"Ok, let's go" Chaerin approached him and took his arm and then began pulling him out of the room.
"Hell, woman. How strong you are” The door closed, leaving the small family silent.
Dara bit her lower lip while they both looked at the door, Mino sighed "Our life is not normal."
"No, it isn't." His wife nodded in agreement with him. A small whine came out of little King, who was stirring in his mother's arms. Dara smiled stroking her son's cheek, she couldn't believe she was a mother.
She felt a small prick in her heart when the name of her firstborn and perhaps the older brother of the twins had passed through her head.
Mino, who had been watching the interaction between mother and son with a smile on his face, frowned to see how his beloved's smile erased from her lips. He stroked her arm comfortingly with his free hand “Hey, what's wrong, my love?".
"I was thinking of Ryu" She didn't look at him, her eyes were fixed on their son's face but they didn't look at their son but were lost in thoughts "On how life would have been if I hadn't lost him. Maybe now I would have my three babies together, he would be here asking to see his sibling”.
"You may not see him, but he is always with you and now he will be with the twins. Caring for his little siblings from heaven” He pressed his lips in a thin line before circling her shoulders with his free arm and bringing her closer to his body. He kissed her hair affectionately "Someday we will go and introduce him to his siblings, and when they are older enough we will talk about him, there is not much we can tell but we will tell them that they have a brother, okay?".
He felt as she nodded on his chest and sighed kissing her hair again, his gaze fell on their children and he smiled slightly against their mother's hair.

A Helping Hand
Tumblr media
pairing: jungwoo(nct) x female oc
summary: jungwoo is your lab partner that helps you study and get through class.
words: 2.2k
tags: fluff
author’s note: i started writing this a looooong time ago during spring semester when i was taking bio and it isn’t that much, but i’ve been meaning to post it and since we’re in a jungwoo drought i decided why not. i hope you enjoy!
“Mia, your exam,”
Mia smiled politely as her professor handed her results back, looking over the scantron for her overall score. She sighed at the demeaning red 62% written at the bottom. Her paper contributed to the unfortunately large percentage of students that didn’t pass the exam. Mia sat through the rest of the lecture feeling quite disappointed, expecting more out of herself. Considering she had studied the past few nights, she had hoped to at least get a B or something close, not fail the entire exam. She knew science was her weakest subject and this wasn’t the first test she got a bad grade on, but it was the first one she had completely failed. The walk to her lab afterwards made her feel even worse, remembering that she still had a lab quiz to study for.
“Hey, Mia! What’d you get on the exam?” Johnny, a classmate in her lab group asked as he sat next to her. He was an old high school friend of Mia’s that automatically drifted to her since he knew no one else taking the course. They weren’t exactly close, but had enough mutual friends to be comfortable with one another and talk.
“I don’t want to say exactly but… I basically failed,” she frowned.
“Aw, it’s okay! If it makes you feel better, I only got a C- because of the curve,” he laughed at himself. “What about you, Jungwoo?”
Mia glanced at their other groupmate, Jungwoo, who sat in front of her. He was reading today’s pre-lab, prepping for their experiment of the day. He was always fairly quiet, only speaking when it was about their classwork or laughing every now and then at one of Johnny’s jokes. Mia often wondered about him, feeling like he had more to him that no one knew about but she didn’t want to pry into his personal life.
“Oh, I got an 86%. I just missed some of the multiple choice questions,” he said.
“An 86%?! That means you’re part of the like, four people that got their score curved up to an A, right?” Johnny asked in amazement and Jungwoo nodded, making his two peers look at him in awe.
“I could never,” Mia chuckled. “and I actually tried this time!”
“If you need help, I’m in the STEM Center before class every week,” Jungwoo mentioned.
“I have a break right before class, maybe I could meet up with you? Building 3900?”
“Yeah, 3900, right around the corner.” Jungwoo nodded.
“Sounds good, I’ll see you Thursday then!”
Mia was actually excited, happy to have someone she could study with that could help her get on track. It only took a few weeks into the semester for her to notice that studying alone wasn’t the best thing to do, finding herself constantly distracted by her phone or random Youtube videos instead of working on assignments. She never got any work done on her own, and figured that studying with Jungwoo would be a great way to be productive while socializing. She also realized it would be a way to get to know her classmate better, hoping it would allow her to see how he is outside of lab.
Two days later, Mia walked into the cafeteria to grab breakfast after her morning class as part of her weekly routine. She took her phone out to scroll through her contacts, stopping once she saw the name ‘Jungwoo(Bio)’.
‘Hi! Are you in the STEM center already?’
‘Yeah, I’m in the far left corner by the long tables. I can save you a seat if you want.’
‘That’d be great, thanks :-)’
Mia grabbed her toasted bagel and cream cheese before heading to Building 3900, just across the main science building. She had never actually been inside the building before, never really finding a reason to since she hadn’t taken a science class since high school. She made sure she signed in at the front desk computer before looking around, spotting the tall boy in the back corner like he said.
“Hi Jungwoo,” she greeted him, setting her things down onto the table.
“Oh, hi.” he gave her a small smile, looking up from his textbook. He was in the middle of highlighting a word, labeling it with a definition.
“Wow, you actually bought the textbook? She said it wasn’t required,”
“Yeah, she said that after I already ordered it so I figured I might as well use it. It’s actually pretty helpful,” he said. “Did you need help studying anything specific?”
“Um…” she paused, feeling a bit embarrassed. “I kinda need help with everything, really.”
“That’s okay,” he chuckled. “I’m here to help.”
Mia thanked him as he handed her his notes, showing her what was going to be on the next exam in the current chapter they were learning about. She noticed how neat everything was, from his handwriting to the way he organized all of his papers.
“You’re so organized,”
“Yeah, my roommate gets a little bothered by it sometimes, but it’s just a habit.” he said after she pointed out everything.
“Roommate?”
“I live with my friend Doyoung in the apartments just a few blocks away. My parents are always gone on business trips so I decided moving in somewhere with a friend would be less lonely.”
“Makes sense. Do you work?”
“I do, I work at a pet store not too far from here.”
Mia nodded as she listened, gradually learning more about Jungwoo as the study session went on. They’d go back and forth asking questions as they went through their notes, both of them slowly beginning to open up as time went on. After a while the two noticed the clock said 1PM and began to gather their things, heading to class together.
This became a weekly schedule for them, Mia always meeting up with Jungwoo to study and hangout. It had gotten to the point where they would even meet up outside of campus, finding time between their schedules to study together at nearby cafes. Jungwoo quickly became someone Mia found comfort in, constantly reassuring her that she was doing great in school and helping her through difficult assignments or quizzes.
“Hey, are you two like… a thing?” Johnny nudged Mia’s arm one day during lab, Jungwoo on the other side of the room collecting samples.
“No, we’re not. Why?”
“I don’t know, you two seem pretty close now. Hanging out before class, studying with each other every week, sharing food. I wouldn’t be surprised if you guys ever got together,” he shrugged, going back to writing in his lab manual. “you guys would be cool as a couple.”
“What’s happening?” Jungwoo said as he sat back down, placing a beaker onto the table.
“Nothing, just asking Mia why you guys aren’t in love yet,”
“Good question,” Jungwoo laughed before going back to work.
Johnny raised an eyebrow at Mia, making her blush. She had to admit, Jungwoo was a handsome guy. He was tall, had a cute smile, a joyful laugh. She would often catch herself looking up at him during their study sessions, admiring his good looks. It was just an added bonus to his kindness, Mia appreciating how much he’s helped her this entire semester.
“Hey, Jungwoo, can I ask you something?” she said to him as they walked to the student parking lot after class like usual.
“Go ahead,” he said, swinging his keys around his finger.
“Are you free tonight?” she asked, knowing he didn’t have another class and it was his day off of work. She wouldn’t be surprised if he said no considering how tired he must be, but even if it was for just a little bit, she hoped that she could get some kind of quality time with him without having to look at the chemical equation of photosynthesis.
“I am actually, why? Did you need help with anything else this chapter?” he looked at her obliviously.
“No, I was just wondering... if you wanted to hangout? Not study, but go out or something?” she stopped in front of her car, looking up at him for an answer.
“I’m down to hangout, what were you thinking of doing?” he said causing Mia to pause for a bit, slightly panicking because she didn’t expect to get that answer from him.
“Um… I don’t know, to be honest. Do you want to go watch a movie?”
“Sure,”
The two agreed on meeting at Jungwoo’s for a movie night, not wanting to spend money on an actual movie at the theaters. Mia trusted him offering his place to hangout, everything she’s learned about him allowing her to enter his apartment with ease.
She looked around with curious eyes as she set her stuff down on the couch, in awe at how clean and cozy his home was. The tables were clear, floor clean, shoes lined up neatly near the door. She observed the frames on the wall, seeing pictures of Jungwoo and his roommate together with their friends or family. She figured the two must have a close friend group, every picture including the same amount of people.
“Doyoung’s home but he’s probably napping or watching a drama,” Jungwoo mentioned. They settled on a Studio Ghibli film to watch after grabbing some snacks out of the pantry, sitting on the couch in the living room. Jungwoo sat on one side, Mia on the other. There was a comfortable silence all throughout the movie, both of them only making small comments at their favorite parts. Mia would glance at him every now and then only to see him focused on the movie, fully immersed into the plot. She began to wonder if she was just overthinking, letting Johnny’s words get to her head. She was just another classmate, a simple friend. There wasn’t much else to their relationship, nothing else could happen.
Soon enough the movie was over, the end credits scrolling across the screen. The clock on the wall only read 8:04pm, Mia thinking it was still too early for her to go home.
“Question,” Mia eyed the Nintendo Switch stood in front of the TV. “do you have Mario Kart?”
“Maybe,” Jungwoo grinned and Mia laughed before getting up to grab a controller, ready to beat him in every race.
The two spent the rest of that night playing Mario Kart and other multiplayer games, the room full of playful banter and yells. Mia found herself practically sprawled across the couch while Jungwoo sat on the floor in front of her, both of them concentrated on the bright screen in front of them. It was around 11:30 when she began to doze off, driving her bike off of the Rainbow Road course several times before falling asleep.
Mia woke up the next day in silence, the TV turned off and a Snoopy patterned blanket laid across her. She checked her phone to see that it was only 7:54am, a little earlier than she’d usually wake up.
“Oh, good morning,” Jungwoo turned around in the kitchen to spot her awake, placing a bagel onto a plate. “Cream cheese?”
Mia smiled as she nodded, acknowledging how he remembered a detail from her usual breakfast meal.
“Sorry for falling asleep on your couch, I meant to go home before midnight.”
“It’s okay, I really liked spending time with you,” he said and she blushed, remembering how he would high five or hug her whenever they passed a level in Super Mario Bros. They were small gestures, but considering they were never that physically close before, Mia enjoyed it all.
Mia headed to the bathroom to freshen up, opening the bathroom door to walk back to the kitchen only to bump into a tall figure.
“Oh, sorry! I didn’t think you were still here,” Doyoung apologized, letting her walk ahead of him.
“It’s okay,” she smiled politely before sitting next to Jungwoo at the dining table.
“Doyoung, this is Mia. She’s from my-“
“Yeah, yeah, I know. Your class, you talk about her all the time,” Doyoung waved his hand before heading towards the front door. “I’ll be at Jeno’s if you need me, bye! Nice meeting you Mia!”
Once the door shut Mia’s eyes darted to Jungwoo, whose cheeks turned red. He was looking down at his plate of food shyly, embarrassed at his roommate’s words.
“So, you talk about me?” she teased, taking a bite of her bagel. Jungwoo just laughed, struggling to make eye contact with her.
“I do talk about you, to be honest. I talk a lot about you,” he said. “you’re cute to me.”
Now Mia was the one blushing, taken aback by the sudden confession. She expected Jungwoo to only look at her as a friend, not get ratted out by his roommate that she had just met.
“I think you’re cute too, Jungwoo.”
The two continued to eat their breakfast like that, sharing shy giggles and quick eye contact. They weren’t sure as to how to go on with their mutual crushes on each other, both too scared to make the first move.
“Do you work today?” Mia asked as they washed the dishes together, standing side by side.
“I do, I work 12-8pm,” he nodded.
“I’ll pick you up at 8:30?”
“Yeah, that’d be nice. Another movie?” Jungwoo suggested. Mia agreed and the two grinned, carrying on with the dishes.

Omg I just listened to David Tennant's podcast episode with Michael Sheen and honestly??? I feel so inspired, not just with me getting into acting but also with life in general.
With that said, I'll just go into a bit of a rant, excuse me for a bit. This is a personal rant so feel free to ignore lol
Also what happened to this app, I can't find the read more function anymore??? Sorry guys
I haven't been active over here much this month, my queue has finally run out whoops. Been busy with work plus acting workshop among other things. Honestly, I'm exhausted.
Especially now after assignments for class, the class itself, writing, watching a show, going to the cemetery with fam for grandma's death anniversary then having lunch...I've barely had time for myself or talking to friends properly, which is just horrible.
I'm glad to be finally doing what I'm passionate about with theater and all, but it's fucking exhausting having to do it on top of work that I honestly don't enjoy anymore but needing for the salary that actually lets me join workshops lmao it's a cycle
I should probably learn to prioritize properly about what I'm choosing to handle. As my acting teacher said, you have to be economical with your energy, and I'm quickly learning this is applicable beyond a performance.
I do love finally learning and being part of theater, as well as joining this amazing community of beautiful, passionate people. I find myself enjoying even the challenging parts of it in a way that I've never done for anything else in my life. I really think this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.
I do wish I could focus on it, but I can't just do that with financial stability to think about and all, which is probably the sad reality for many people. It's frustrating, but I have to keep working for my own sake too.
But also really, it's just. It's exhausting, draining to learn and participate in the workshop plus having to deal with all of my classmates who were all strangers to me prior.
But I wouldn't trade this experience for the world.
We had this group exercise during first day where we're supposed to share about our experiences and expectations and what we think acting is for us. My groupmates had similar frustrations about not being able to do this thing that they've been passionate about for years. One of them had said acting for her was like coming home.
We all agreed. It just resonated with us so much. Honestly, I'm getting teary-eyed just thinking about it.
Michael quoted someone, gosh I can't remember who and what exact quote, but he explained how in life, there's this fine line between surviving life and drowning, something to that effect. And we have to find these fragments that essentially make up our lifeboat, things that we like and excite us and keep us afloat. And I just found that so relatable and inspiring. It just resonated with me and how I've lived my life so far. And with me finding my passion in theater, it's like I haven't really lived until now.
I'm turning 29 tomorrow and I find myself just feeling grateful for what happened for the past year. It's been a year of self-discovery full of ups and downs, but it's been great.
And now I need to rest bc work restarts tomorrow. Good night!

Be Still My Heart
Pairing: Wonho x Reader
Genre: Soulmate! AU, fluff
Warnings: none
Word Count: 2.3 k
“Ladies and Gentlemen, we will soon be landing at the Incheon International Airport in Seoul. Please make sure that your seats and tray tables are in their upright position. Make sure your seatbelt is securely fastened and all carry-on luggage is stowed away safely,” a voice over the intercom said. You were torn away from your daydreams, prying your eyes away from the view of Seoul at nighttime.
It had been so long since you were in South Korea, back when you where a foreign exchange student. You had made so many good memories and friends during your year abroad and your heart fell in love with the country. You had longed for so many years to be back.
And now you were finally back. You worked hard all through school, participating in every art contest you could, finding your niche in photography in your sophomore year of high school. You had always loved taking photos everywhere you went but your love for photography was only strengthened after winning an art contest with your photos. You knew it was your calling and applied for several art institutes in your country as well as in South Korea. The odds of getting accepted abroad were pretty high but your portfolio convinced the photography department of Shingu College in Seongnam, a city just outside of Seoul, and you soon received your acceptance letter. It was as if fate wanted you to come back to the country you love so much.
The plane landed and, after going through customs, you were soon heading towards the baggage claim. You had brought a few bags and chests with you, intent on bringing as much of your room back home with you as possible. You loaded everything onto a cart and made your way down to the waiting area where a friend was waiting for your arrival.
He wasn’t just any friend. He was your best friend, ever since his family took you in during your foreign exchange program. He had been your muse, the first person you went to when you had big news, the person who made you feel safe when you were scared. He was your first love, even though you would never admit it, and part of you still loved him. And although long-distance friendships are said to be difficult, the two of you had always found time for each other.
His name was Lee Hoseok, but most people referred to him as Wonho of Monsta X. You still preferred to call him Hoseok, just as much as he liked hearing you call him that. He had debuted with his other members a couple of years ago and you had supported the group since day one. You knew it was his passion and helped him through all the ups and downs, just as he did with your passion. You had never met the other members before, but he spoke very fondly of them and you were excited to meet them.
You spotted him near the end of a big group of people, sticking out like a sore thumb. While everyone else was holding up signs in greetings to the other passengers and wearing bright smiles, he was dressed in all black, baseball cap pulled low over his onyx hair, with a mask and sunglasses covering the rest of his face. You understood that he didn’t want to be recognized but you couldn’t help but smile at how poor his attempt was.
“At least I decided on a night flight,” you thought as you made your way towards him. You thought that arriving at the middle of the night would minimize the chances of fangirls crowding around him. And you were right, the only ones here were friends and family members of other passengers.
Once you were beside him, Hoseok gave your shoulder a light squeeze and took the cart from your hands, guiding you away from the mass of strangers. Your heart began to pound as you walked beside each other in silence and you thought you should at least say something, but your mind drew a blank. You continued to stare at him, to try and take in as many features as possible.
He had grown quite a bit since you last saw him. His muscles were large and toned and he was at least a head taller than you. You tried looking at his face, wanting to see him smile, that smile that you had only seen in pictures and Skype calls for so long. All you were able to catch, however, was that his ears were turning... slightly pink?
Before you could question it, Hoseok turned a corner into an abandoned corridor and stopped. He turned towards you and took his glasses off, tears threatening to overflow in his eyes. He pulled his mask down to reveal a large smile and when you began to open your mouth, he grabbed your arm and pulled you in for a long embrace.
You heard him sob into your hair and felt tears falling onto your shoulder, but you only held him tighter, feeling close to tears yourself. At long last you were reunited and you enjoyed the soft, secret moment the two of you were sharing. His embrace was warm and safe, and it felt like time itself had stopped, as if you were the only people on earth and nothing else mattered.
Eventually, Hoseok pulled away slightly, still holding you in his arms, but able to see your face. He had stopped crying but his eyes were a little bloodshot and his cheeks tearstained. He still smiled brightly at you as he stared at you with adoration in his eyes. He made you weak, just as he always had, and you would’ve blurted out “I love you” then and there, had you been able to find your voice.
“God I missed you so much,” he croaked out, breaking the silence. You bit your lip and gave him a small smile in agreement before he continued. “I know it’s silly, we talked to each other so often and we saw each other through Skype and social media but... it’s not the same as really having you here. Standing right in front of me. In my arms,” he whispered that last sentence.
“I...” you started, at a loss for words. Your thoughts were whirling through your head at the moment, making it so you couldn’t think straight. You weren’t expecting Hoseok to react the way he did, missing you just as much as you missed him. And you certainly didn’t expect all of your feelings for him to come rushing back in the blink of an eye. You had thought that they had passed, that you only loved and adored him as a friend but you now knew that they had only been dormant.
Clearing your throat, you said, “I missed you too, Hoseok. I’m really glad to be back. I’ve missed Korea. I’ve missed you. I can’t wait to start making new memories here. I’d stay here forever if I could. Have I mentioned that I missed you?” You laughed nervously as Hoseok’s smile grew bigger and his eyes crinkled with glee.
You wanted to spew out all of your feelings you’ve ever felt towards Hoseok to him, you were almost bursting at the thought, but you couldn’t bring yourself to do it. You felt deep down that there could be a chance he could reciprocate your feelings but you were never much of a risk-taker, not in those regards. As much as you hated to admit it, you knew you would be heart-broken if your first love didn’t love you back. You also didn’t want to risk your friendship, it meant the world to you.
There’s a time and place for everything. And there will come a day when I take the risk and give Hoseok my heart and soul, but today is not that day, you thought to yourself, giving your heart a break.
You stifled a yawn and realized just how tired traveling made you. Hoseok gave a small chuckle and released you from his arms, only to lace your fingers with yours.
“I was so wrapped up in seeing you again that I completely forgot the time. You must be exhausted. I have the car standing outside. I’ll help you load everything in and we’ll drive to my place,” he said, leading you to the exit, pushing your cart once more with his free hand.
“What about my apartment?” you asked, suddenly recalling the conversation you had with Hoseok a few months back. He had called to tell you he found the perfect apartment not far away from his. “So I can stop by whenever I want to check up on you!” he had said with a laugh, which brought a smile to your lips whenever you thought about it.
“It’s not quite done yet. The bed just arrived today and we’re not done decorating everything. But we’ll go tomorrow, I promise. Besides, it gives us the excuse to have a sleepover again, just like the good old days,” he winked.
You remembered him mentioning that him and his groupmates were furnishing your apartment so you wouldn’t have to go through all that stress. It warmed your heart to know that they went to those lengths to make you feel welcome.
You two soon arrived at Hoseok’s car and packed all of your bags into his trunk. You felt a wave of exhaustion hit you as you sat down next to him in the passenger’s seat and you almost felt like dozing off as you felt the car start to move. But then you felt Hoseok nudge you gently in your thigh, causing you to wake up from your half-slumber.
You were about to sleepily snap at him for disturbing you but it got caught in your throat once you saw the bright lights of Seoul. The bright lights that felt like home to you made your heart jump. You stared out of the window, your eyes glistening, not daring to look away. Every now and then, Hoseok would look over at you, a smile on his lips and warmth in his eyes.
As Hoseok pulled up to his apartment, you felt the nerves hit you. He shared this space with 6 other guys who you’ve never actually talked to before. When he did send you videos of his members, it was normally of them saying hi or doing something pretty stupid that made you laugh. You knew a lot about them, and they probably knew a lot about you... but you didn’t know them personally. How would they react to their friend showing up with a stranger? Would they even accept you? Would they-
As if reading your mind, Hoseok spoke up. “Hey, don’t worry too much. You’ll get wrinkles. Besides, the boys are dying to meet you. I think they’ve been more excited than I have. But they’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see you.” He winked at you.
This both eased your nerves and made your heart stop, briefly of course. It was just going to be you and Hoseok tonight, sharing the same space, just as you had the night before you left Korea. You were picking up where you last left off, and the romantic attribute of that thought made you smile.
He took your carry-on bag and led you to the front entrance and up the stairs to his apartment. You were surprised by how clean the place looked, you expected a dorm housing 7 guys to be much messier. You were about to ask where his room was when he handed you your bag, interrupting you.
“I’ll be right back!” he said, running down the hallway into one of the rooms. You could hear him searching around for something but before you could look to see what he was up to, he came out brandishing an over-sized sweatshirt.
“You can change into this. There’s a bathroom over to your left. Once you’re done, come into the living room. I’ll be waiting for you there,” he flashed a smile, throwing you the shirt.
You quickly got dressed in the bathroom, taking in the scent of his sweatshirt, making your head dizzy with glee. You brushed your teeth and washed your face, every so often pinching yourself just in case this was all a too-good-to-be-true dream.
You walked out and followed the only light you saw down the hallway and into the living room. Your jaw dropped at the sight.
In the middle of the room, leaning against a couch, was a bed of pillows and blankets. Fairy lights had been hung all over, a few of your favorite scented candles had been lit. Hoseok had his back towards you, choosing something to watch on tv. He had on a t-shirt and some shorts and your eyes lingered on him a bit longer than they should’ve.
“Hey,” you said softly, catching his attention.
“Hey!,” he turned around, smiling warmly at you. “Come, lay down. Make yourself comfortable. I’ll join you in a sec.”
You crawled under one of the covers and let out a yawn almost as soon as your head touched the pillow. Hoseok chuckled as he laid down next to you, stroking your cheek.
“I had a feeling you wouldn’t have much energy to talk. I thought we could just cuddle up and watch some YouTube. Or you could just pass out in my arms while I watch some videos. I don’t mind either way. And we’ll have plenty of time to talk about... everything tomorrow. And the next day, the day after that...” he trailed off and stared at you.
“I’ll try my best to stay awake,” you smiled, attempting to rub the tiredness from your eyes.
And with that, Hoseok turned on the first video and brought you closer to him. You wouldn’t have known what it was about even if you tried to pay attention to it. Feeling warm and comfortable inside his arms, your eyes drooped shut and you were out within seconds, your dreams once again filled with him and only him.

Thank You, STAY
Anon: Can I ask for a Stray kids reaction to Got7 congratulating them on their first win?
Admin Eva: Of course you can~! I know this really isn’t my domain, but I wanted to help Admin D considering she has a lot on her plate right now. I hope you don’t mind, and I hope you really like it~!
Warnings: Just a small bit of angst on two of the members reactions.
Tumblr media
Hearts pounding, silence overcame the occupants of the stage. All the groups joined hands and shut their eyes tightly. Three groups stood upon the stage, hoping and praying to hear their name. Two out of the three have been here before, one is still waiting for their first win. Time stopped as the hosts watched the numbers rise and fall, once there was an overwhelming about of space between those who won and those who did not the hosts smiled and announced the winners for all to hear.
“Congratulations, Stray Kids!” The audience cheered and screamed for Stray Kids. They slowly opened their eyes and looked at each other with shock. Did they hear right? A woman walked out and handed Chan the trophy and they handed Changbin the flowers. Chan thanked the woman and held up his microphone and looked at the audience, disbelief on his face as he took a deep breath to address the crowd.
“We would like to thank Park Jinyoung PDnim, Jung Wook CEO, the vice presidents, and the representatives. We would also like to thank our friends and families, our JYP family, and our staff members for being so kind to us. Most of all we would like to thank STAY for this amazing award. Although it is an honored just being nominated, we are so grateful for this stunning award. Thank you so much!” The boys bowed respectfully and continued on with the rest of the award ceremony. They needed to continue to work hard. They agreed to meet at the company, their hard work wasn’t do itself!
Chan looked around quickly, they were only missing one member then they could get started for the day. Chan was about to address the others when the door slammed open. He jumped and looked in shock at Hyunjin who was breathing heavily and had a crazy look in his eyes. The rest of the group looked at Hyunjin as he caught his breath. The room was silent besides Hyunjin.
“What are you guys doing?!” Hyunjin yelled out, scaring everyone else.
“What’s the matter?” Chan asked as he looked at himself and the rest of the group.
“We need to look presentable! Got7 sunbaenim’s are going to be here soon!” Hyunjin rushed over and started to brush Jeongin’s hair aside and fixing his clothes to look presentable.
“What? How do you know that?” Chan asked as he shut the practice room door.
“I heard while I was walking passed the lobby from the receptionist, who heard it from a staff member, who heard it from one of their managers.” Hyunjin explained quickly as he moved on from Jeongin to Seungmin.
“Well then how do actually know its going to happen?” Chan asked quickly.
“Because, the managers don’t lie. Get with the program, Hyung!” Hyunjin said as he moved on to Felix and started fixing his sweater so the other could be presentable. Before Chan could say anything, the door opened again, this time revealing Got7 on the other side. The boys bowed respectfully and said hello quickly.
“We wanted to congratulate you boys on your first win. You’ve worked so hard!” JB smiled at them after they greeted the boys. Bambam and Yugyeom ran at Chan and hugged their friend tightly. JB walked over and pulled the maknaes away from Chan. Bambam and Yugyeom immediately went to their next victim and attacked Woojin and Minho with hugs. Mark and Youngjae both rolled their eyes as Jackson decided to join in the fun and attacked Changbin with hugs also. The next twenty minutes was spent by getting Bambam, Yugyeom, and Jackson away from the kids. Hyunjin stayed away from Jinyoung and Felix decided to laugh at everyone from the side.
“We need to get going Jackson!” Mark complained as he pulled Jackson away from Chan.
“We’re really honored and thankful that you guys came here.” Chan smiled, they bowed respectfully again. Then Mark and Youngjae dragged Bambam and Yugyeom out the door while JB and Jinyoun did the same with Jackson.
 Chan:
Seeing his seniors leaving, he felt so accomplished. However, it didn’t feel like it was enough. He wanted more, getting this award and having their seniors coming to congratulate them… it just made him want more, it wasn’t enough. They needed to work harder and live their dreams with their fans. He couldn’t wait to make them all proud again.
Tumblr media
Woojin:
As they all looked at the door, he thought about how different this could have been. There was a time when all of this seemed so far away. There was a time when they were only going to be seven. Thankfully, thanks to STAY and the company, Felix and Minho got to stay with them. They couldn’t have been a family without all of them. Woojin looked at his friends and smiled, this was only the beginning.
Tumblr media
Lee Know:
The room around him seemed to disappear. This also happened when they were receiving the award last night. All he could see was spotlights shining down brightly. His heart thudded against his chest. “Minho-ssi, you worked hard,” JYP sunbaenim walked up to him, patted him on the shoulder, shook his hand, and left with his heart.
“It’s not that you couldn’t do it, your training time was really short. You can prepare more now,” a snap sounded throughout his body. Jisung hugged him tightly, snapping out of his flashback. They won, there was no stopping them from working harder now.
Tumblr media
Changbin:
Two years of constant hard work in training, he looked around and smiled at his groupmates. It was all worth it to be here with these boys. Long nights of writing music that fits their team’s heart and soul into an amazing hit. The exciting feeling of helping the boys record and giving them tips here and there, the excitement of winning together. Now, as their senior’s leave them to practice, he feels humble. After all, there is more work to be done.
Tumblr media
Hyunjin:
He sighed in relief when their senior’s finally left. It’s not that he doesn’t like them, it’s just he admires Jinyoung so much. He wants to impress the older vocalist so much. Being around Jinyoung made him more nervous than attending SOPA. When around Jinyoung he’s so tense and it gets hard to breath. They could have all the awards in the world, but none of it would matter without STAY and Jinyoung’s approval. Now, it was time to get ready for their next schedule. Since he saw Jinyoung already today, the most stressful part of the day was over!
Tumblr media
Han:
He stayed up with Changbin and helped the other write some songs. He worked hard on rapping, singing, and dancing properly, and now they finally had the best present their fans could ever give to them. Seeing Got7 the day after and hearing their praise, it was the icing on a delicious cake. Nothing in this world could make this day better than it already was, nor could anything ruin it. Except maybe if he fell down in public… Ah never mind that now, this day is for celebration and enjoying it with his brothers is something he will remember for the rest of his life.
Tumblr media
Felix:
A black cell appeared around him, titanium bars separated him from the rest of his group. He places a hand on one of the bars, Chan was crying. He couldn’t see him because their backs were turned to him, but he could hear Chan. The cries he could hear now were the same ones that haunted him at night. A voice boomed from the ceiling.
“Felix, your biggest problem is… it seems like it is your Korean. I think you still need more time until the rap part you did could be delivered properly. So, I’m really sorry this time you will not be able to continue together,” Felix’s heart dropped to the floor. Minho seemed to understand how Felix was feeling. He walked over and hugged the other tightly.
“Now is the time to celebrate, shall we go see if Twice sunbaenim’s are here? They might cheer you up.” Minho joked, the other’s heard and laughed. Two of them ran off to go find some of the twice girls. Ah he loved his team, but right now he was embarrassed. How dare they… >.<
Tumblr media
Seungmin:
He calmed himself down from messing around with Bambam and Yugyeom, he could find them later and ambush them with Jeongin. He felt so honored that they took the time to come down to see them. He’s worked so hard to be in their shoes, but as he stands here now. A win under their belt, STAY by their sides and in their hearts, he realized something important. He doesn’t want to be in their shoes. Thanks to their guidance he has his own shoes now, ones that were made by him. Something caught his attention, he looked over and saw Minho hugging Felix when suddenly…
“… shall we go see if Twice sunbaenim’s are here? They might cheer you up,” His eyes lit up and he noticed Jeongin was thinking the same thing. They both rushed out before Felix could catch them and ran around the company to find some of the girls from Twice.
Tumblr media
I.N:
He was shaking in his boots. Bambam and Yugyeom were like energy drinks without the bad side effects. The energy flowing off of Bambam and Yugyeom made him want to run around and play like he was a kid again. Well, some would argue he still was… Jeongin shook his head and ran over to hug Hyunjin. The two of them seemed to be connected at the hip. His team worked hard, he really couldn’t ask for a better team. He loved all of his older brothers, even though it seemed as though they want to smother him with too much love sometimes. He caught Seungmin’s eye at the same time he heard Minho’s voice. An evil force seemed to take over the two as they laughed evilly and ran off together to find their other sunbaenim’s. Yeah he loved them a lot, but he still needed to have his own fun before they got back to work!

Shout My Love For You (Actually, No)
Grandmaster of Legal Cultivation 律道祖师 - Chapter 3 (standalone)
Valentine’s Day Special (a day and a half late)
Law Students + Flatmates AU (though the legal aspect isn’t apparent in this chapter)
I intended to write this for the WangXian Week prompt “Valentine’s Day”, but it evolved into something else.
***
A heavenly aroma wafted through the kitchen as Xiao Xingchen pulled a tray of cookies out of the oven. His gaze raked over the black, white and grey lines and curves decorating each heart; the unconventional colour scheme worked surprisingly well. Biting into a cookie, he let the fragrant sweetness suffuse his senses and concluded that he was satisfied with the result.
It was a shame that Song Lan wasn’t here to taste his handiwork, but at least A-Qing would like them. Jiang Cheng, who lived in the opposite flat, would probably enjoy some cookies too—Xiao Xingchen guessed that as a currently single gentleman, Jiang Cheng was planning to spend Valentine’s Day with Netflix for company, so snacks would be in order.
At that moment, the doorbell rang and a bright voice sang out: “Gege! I’m—huh? Why are you...”
Xiao Xingchen was bemused for a second before a cacophony of screams penetrated the wooden door and rattled his soul.
His heart lurched. What on earth was going on? “A-Qing!” Dumping his tray onto the countertop, he raced to the front door, fumbled with the lock and slammed the door open.
A-Qing was right in front of him, but her back was turned. She was facing a young lad in a neat white shirt, whose cheeks were as pink as the delicate bouquet of roses he held. Behind him, a horde of boys vibrated in excitement, grinning from ear to ear. Half of them were still screeching until they locked eyes with Xiao Xingchen, whereupon they ceased abruptly.
An eerie silence rapidly descended on the scene as all the boys stared at him. The colour drained from the face of the lad with the roses. Clear as day, every one of their expressions read: I think we just botched our mission.
A-Qing noticed the change that befell them and whipped around to face Xiao Xingchen’s wild eyes and tense stance. “Gege!” She paused, noting that he was poised to beat the living daylights out of any potential threats, and continued in a more placating tone: “Gege, it’s nothing.” She gestured at the boys. “They’re my friends from school. Sorry for making you worry.”
Roses Boy regained his senses the fastest among the lot. He gulped, then rallied and bowed. “I’m sorry that we disturbed you! We didn’t mean to.” His buddies (including the Lan kids and Jiang Cheng’s nephew, Xiao Xingchen noticed) quickly chimed in with a clumsy chorus of apologies.
Xiao Xingchen’s brow unknitted. “It’s fine. I’m glad no one was being murdered outside my door.” He assessed Roses Boy. Despite his ashen complexion, the lad had a winsome air about him. There was an open, earnest look in his gaze that was offset by the nervous way he gripped his bouquet, lending his mien a certain charm.
Xiao Xingchen made a split-second decision. He flashed a reassuring smile at everyone and said, “I’ll go inside to pack my cookies. I’ll leave the door unlocked so you can come in whenever you’re done.”
After he shut the door, he heard a low bubble of very, very suppressed squeals and hollers, presumably as Roses Boy made his heartfelt declaration of affection.
Roughly twenty minutes later, the group of teenagers hesitantly filed into Xiao Xingchen’s flat and were treated to cookies. A-Qing, looking uncharacteristically shy, rummaged around in the cupboard for a vase for her newly-acquired flowers.
Xiao Xingchen had just found out that Roses Boy was the Ouyang Zizhen that A-Qing had been talking about for the past five months when a terrified shout ripped through the air.
It came from the opposite flat.
“Stay here!” said Xiao Xingchen hastily to the kids before rushing over to Jiang Cheng’s apartment.
He hammered on Jiang Cheng’s door. “Jiang Cheng? What’s going on?”
From this close, he could make out the content of the frantic yells. “Go away! Make it stop!”
To his surprise, that sounded like Wei Wuxian. Weren’t he and Lan Wangji supposed to be out on a date?
“Wuxian?” Xingchen called, but received no reply except panicked yelps.
After a number of bangs and scuffling noises, the flat turned quiet. Then the door opened and Wei Wuxian tumbled right into Xiao Xingchen’s arms.
Xiao Xingchen steadied him and gave him a once-over. He didn’t seem physically hurt. “Are you okay?”
Wei Wuxian shuddered. “No.”
Lan Wangji came out of the apartment. Running a hand across Wei Wuxian’s back in comforting circles, he enlightened Xiao Xingchen with one word: “Dog.”
Lan Wangji steered the quivering human-shaped jelly aside, giving the doorway a wide berth. Jiang Cheng exited the flat, somehow wearing a frown and an expression of resignation at the same time. A Shih Tzu wriggled innocently in his arms.
“I’ll take Dolly home.” Jiang Cheng stroked the lapdog soothingly in a way that was uncannily similar to how Lan Wangji was rubbing Wei Wuxian’s back.
Lan Wangji nodded. “We’re sorry for inconveniencing you.”
Jiang Cheng gave a small shrug. “Not a problem.” Grudgingly, he added: “Sorry for the scare. I didn’t expect you to be home until a lot later, so I thought I’d bring Dolly over to visit.” Even more grudgingly, with a look faintly reminiscent of someone having his teeth pulled out, he continued: “It’s decent of you to think of me and come back, though I really wouldn’t have minded if you two went for a good meal to celebrate.”
“...It’s not like Lan Zhan and I don’t eat together often,” said Wei Wuxian, eyeing Dolly warily from the safety of Lan Wangji’s arms. “I wanna watch the new episodes of Shadows of the Burial Mound with both of you. It’s fun to host a running commentary together throughout the show.”
This made Jiang Cheng’s semi-permanent scowl almost nonexistent—a rare and admirable feat.
“Mmh. I’ll be back soon.” He strode down the corridor, nodded to Jin Ling—who, alongside the other kids, was craning his neck to watch the drama unfold from Xiao Xingchen’s doorway—and vanished around the corner.
Wei Wuxian looked at Xiao Xingchen ruefully. “Sorry for the ruckus.”
Xiao Xingchen shook his head. “Don’t apologise. It’s not your fault that you’re afraid of dogs...Hang on.” He went into his flat and brought out a container of cookies. “Eat the remains of your shock away. Happy Valentine’s Day.”
***
When Xiao Xingchen resettled back onto his couch, his handphone rang. It was a call from Song Lan.
A-Qing eagerly grabbed the phone from the coffee table, pressed “accept”, and put it on speaker mode. “Song-gege, hi! Xingchen-gege baked cookies but you’re not here so don’t mind if I eat your portion!”
The response was a series of piercing shrieks which sent them all reeling backwards. Lan Jingyi gaped at the phone. “That’s one heck of an overreaction!”
Xiao Xingchen massaged his temples. Why was everyone screaming on Valentine’s Day?
Staticky crackles emanated from the phone, but they failed to completely obscure the voices crying: “Put the scorpion down!”
“EEEEYAAAAAGH!!! Song Lan, throw it away!”
“Shit, this is the biggest one so far, it’s almost bigger than his palm!”
“Why are you using your bare hands?!! Get the tweezers!”
Everyone in Xiao Xingchen’s living room felt their eyes widen inadvertently. Xiao Xingchen sighed.
Song Lan’s level tone cut through the clamour as smoothly as a blade cuts through tofu. “There’s no time to find the tweezers; it was almost in our food. Calm down, I’ll take it somewhere far away.”
The racket gradually died down to an indistinct hum as Song Lan put more and more distance between himself and his groupmates. Then the only sound left was Song Lan’s measured breaths, followed by a quiet “Off you go.”
Unbeknownst to Song Lan, his audience on the other side of the world let out a sigh of relief for him.
“Sorry, A-Qing. Dealt with some trouble just now. You were talking about cookies?” Song Lan resumed his phone conversation as casually as if he had merely stopped to tie his shoelaces.
“...Yes. Xingchen-gege baked Valentine’s Day cookies. I was going to eat your share but I’ve decided against it, because I hope the cookies can incentivise you to come back alive, preferably without missing an arm or an immune system. Are you sure you’re okay?”
There was a pause as Song Lan presumably checked his body for injuries. “I’m fine. I...” He hesitated.
“Please continue,” urged Xiao Xingchen.
“...I have one cut where the grave robbers tried to stab me when they tried to grab the artefacts we were transporting from Empress Minyan’s tomb, but it’s completely healed already. Just a scar.”
“What the hell,” mouthed Lan Jingyi silently to Lan Sizhui. Then he nudged Ouyang Zizhen and whispered, not too quietly, “Zizhen, this guy is gonna be one of your in-laws.”
Both Ouyang Zizhen and A-Qing elbowed him. “We aren’t engaged!” A-Qing hissed, also not too quietly. Even louder, she said, “Also, Xingchen-gege and Song-gege aren’t in that kind of relationship...yet.”
Xiao Xingchen wanted to bury his face in his palms. Song Lan probably heard that last part. It was devoid of all subtlety, volume and content-wise.
Song Lan asked: “May I talk to you in private?”
“Sure.” Xiao Xingchen picked his phone up and switched speaker mode off, ignoring A-Qing’s waggling eyebrows.
In the safety of his bedroom, he said, “I’m alone now. Zichen, are you hurt anywhere else?”
“No. Only one scar this time, and it’s painless.”
“Please be careful. Just let the scorpion eat your food, it’s better than risking a sting.”
“I can’t do that. This is the first proper meal I’ve had in a month. We mostly subsisted on canned food at the excavation site, but that’s over now.” Song Lan said all of this matter-of-factly, without a hint of joy or complaint. But he sounded more appreciative when he added: “Now we have proper showers.”
Xiao Xingchen felt a grin spread across his face. That was so like Song Lan; stoic in the face of danger, enduring challenges with fortitude, only allowing his mysophobia to surface once the need for grit in the circumstances had passed.
“That sounds very nice, after so long. And good job for completing your task. Proud of you.”
Song Lan was silent for a few seconds—Xingchen could imagine him almost-smiling—before he said, “I look forward to having your cookies, if A-Qing hasn’t eaten them all by then.”
“She won’t.” I wouldn’t have used the monochrome colour scheme that you like if I didn’t intend to save some for you.
“I have something for you too," Song Lan informed him. "It’s supposed to arrive in the mail at our flat today."
Right on time, a knock sounded once on his bedroom door before A-Qing bounded in. “Song-gege sent you something! Thought you’d want to see it before you end your call.” She dropped a package onto Xiao Xingchen’s lap.
Xiao Xingchen’s curiosity soared. He and Song Lan hardly ever did surprises, so receiving a mystery package was extra exciting. “A-Qing just brought it in. May I unwrap it?”
“Go ahead.”
Xiao Xingchen eagerly peeled away the layers of cardboard and cushioning material and pulled out a small rectangular picture frame. Splashes of purple, white, yellow and pink spread from one end to the other, a demure palette of tiny pressed desert blossoms.
A card was attached to it. High on anticipation, Xiao Xingchen flipped it open.
It read:
“I tried very hard to find flowers in the Gobi Desert, and I was lucky to have found them.
I hadn’t tried very hard to find someone I love among the billions of people in this world, so I am incredibly lucky to have somehow found you anyway.”
A-Qing was unabashedly peering over Xiao Xingchen’s shoulder and reading the card. Then she shrieked in his ear.
Dazedly, Xiao Xingchen thought again, today is full of screams.
“FINALLY! Song-gege, you finally found the guts to spit it out!” Bouncing on the bed, A-Qing grabbed Xiao Xingchen’s phone and yelled: “CONGRATULATIONS!”
Outside, Lan Jingyi commented to Ouyang Zizhen: “She’s a tad more excited now compared to when you confessed.”
Ouyang Zizhen ground his knuckles against Jingyi's abdomen, making him squawk. “That’s probably because I haven’t waited for years and years before saying the things I should say!”
Dimly, Xiao Xingchen noticed that his fingers were trembling. He put the card down and fumbled for his phone from A-Qing. He let out a helpless sort of chuckle, overflowing with fondness and warmth.
“...I love you too,” he said, a little hoarsely.
He thought he was acting in a frankly ridiculous manner—he already knew he held a treasured place in Song Lan’s life; it was evident in the way Song Lan treated him and looked at him (attentively, tenderly, eyes an inky, endless depth of unspoken but understood promises and everlasting faith), but he couldn’t help but metaphorically jump for joy to have those feelings irrefutably manifested in clear words.
He heard Song Lan let out a small gust of a breath, like a laugh, but one that was incomplete because he was too overwhelmed to do it properly.
When Song Lan spoke, Xiao Xingchen could hear the smile in his voice, a tinge of sunshine through the leaves. “See you soon.”
“Happy Valentine’s Day.”

Idol!Changmin (Q) x Model!reader Fluff
Anon:  Yes! We need more the boyz writers! If I may request, could you write a bulletpoint piece model!fem reader and idol!changmin/q meeting and falling in love? ❤️ A/N: Ahhh thank you for the request! changmin is my bias and so i would absolutely love to write for him so im glad this was requested. *disclaimer* this is the first thing ive written in a very long time and im sure it’s not the best, im sorry for that but hopefully i made up for it with adding other members cracky content as well <3
Tumblr media
being a model was never what you intended to do when you grew up but you started posing for photography students during school and from there more and more people want to take your picture
now, 3 years later it’s a whole career and you get to work alongside some amazing brands and creators to promote stuff
one week, you were sent to seoul for a shoot with numerous other people to promote a clothing brand
usually you didn't mind flying out to new places, in fact it was the best part of the job once you got over the language barrier
but this time, you were completely alone, your manager couldn't come due to family problems and all of your friends had work
so you were completely alone going to this event
and little did you know it wouldn't just be a small shoot, tons of people were there from all over the world
they had actors, singers and models from tons of different places and companies
and most of them were older than you which made things more stressful
so, first day there and everyone’s being told their schedules and what they need to be doing
when you’re given your schedule you see you’ve been put on the same shoot as a boy group and a handful of other models
not that you minded because maybe you could make some friends seeing as you’d be there for a while
luckily your shoot wasn’t for a while as they didn’t choose you as one of the major people involved with the project so you ended up in a backroom with a few other people minding their own business
it was reasonably quiet in the room, people chatting away and on their phones until the door burst open and a group of boys walked in
all of them were, well
very very very very cute
its uwu time
no wonder they’d been picked for this project, who wouldn't want something modelled by them
They walked in together, one following behind the other. The final boy to walk in looked around at everyone until his eyes met yours
and when i say awkward eye contact, i mean awkward eye contact for about 6 seconds before he accidentally walked into his group member in front of him
followed by some profuse blushing and apologising
they proceeded to disperse into the room and sit down
the one who made intense awkward eye contact lingered for a second, looking around before settling into a seat opposite you
Now there were around 18 people all sat together, not really talking very much
and the air was, awkward.
Until the organiser of the event came in to introduce himself and explain what you were all meant to do
The whole time he was introducing himself you felt someone looking at you, but whenever you searched everyone's faces no one was looking
everything was going fine and dandy until the guy explaining the concepts and the activities you guys would be doing for the shoot asked everyone to introduce themselves one by one
it wouldn’t usually be a problem, you’re a confident person and modelling has certain helped that but when surrounded by so many beautiful humans it’s scary as hell
so, they all introduced themselves. one of the members called Hyunjoon even threw in a cheeky wink at the end of his introduction
like who ??? let you be so cute
but then it came to the one who held the awkward eye contact
he seemed dead set on never looking at you ever again after that first moment up until the second he stood
he looked right at you as he introduced himself
explaining that he didn't mind being called Q or Changmin
what a freaking cutie pie
when it was your turn you felt the most amount of butterflies in your stomach since probably your first kiss back in primary school
introducing yourself as calmly as possible, only looking up from the floor briefly to see Changmin staring into your eyes with keen interest
oof that was enough to set your heart on fire
Finishing your introduction of where you’re from and how old you are, you sat down quickly feeling the heat in your cheeks increase when you saw two of the boys whispering together
once the man was gone it was a lot easier for everyone to chat and discuss how they thought the project would turn out, excited to be part of such a unique shoot
Changmin was glancing your way every few seconds, looking like he was having an internal battle with himself
You decided to just be a bad bitch and go speak to him yourself
he was with Hyunjoon anyway and you needed to congratulate him on winning the best introduction of the team award!!
when you got there they both abruptly stopped talking and looked at you, waiting with wide eyes for what you were going to say
“so you’re part of a boy group yeah?” you ask
might as well ease in gently yanno
they both looked at each other before Hyunjoon answered and began explaining their roles in the group
he explained in great length that Changmin was the main dancer
speaking very briefly of the other members in order to explain that Changmin can sing and dance so well and he’s super amazing with fans
Changmin all the while stood there blushing and trying to disagree with him
honestly a sweet but strange interaction
until finally Hyunjoon was called away by another member of the group
leaving just you and Changmin alone
you’d moved to a couch nearby by now so for a few moments you sat there admiring him as he watched Hyunjoon walk off
when he turned back he rushed to say “I’m sorry about him, he loves to hype us all up. I’m not really that cool’
“No, I think you’re pretty cool...” You shrug, trying to pass off the compliment slyly which didn’t go unnoticed by him.
A faint blush was working it’s way up his neck when the organiser walked back in with 3 sheets of paper
“I can see you’ve all got to know each other more and now, I want you to divide yourself into teams as evenly as possible. I don’t want all the girls put in one team though because there are less of you”
He then leaves the sheets on a table and walks off again leaving you to find the courage to ask Changmin if he’d want to be in the same team as you
Because I mean you’ve only known him for about 45 minutes but he’s already showed how sweet he is and you can’t help but feel excited at the idea of spending the next few days working with him
“So would yo-”
“Hey could w-”
You both tried to ask each other to be on the same team in the exact same second
Both of you burst into laughter and write your names on the paper one under the other still giggling the whole time
The rest of the morning goes by just like this, giggling together and gradually getting to know one another more and more
by the time the afternoon rolls around he’s basically your best friend
You both love the same movies, same books, enjoy similar music
Even as hair and makeup is being done you don’t stop talking and giggling
Lets be real here, a crush was growing
It’s like within the space of 4 hours you’d become inseparable
When the photos were being taken your teams connection together was so genuine
Working for a brand that’s entire concept is friendship and having fun together it was hardly surprising that the laughter didn’t end there
The rest of the time you were there your cheeks never stopped hurting from how much you smiled and laughed
Not just from Changmin but also from all of his groupmates too
Such a wonderful, fun group of people to be around
You truly felt like one of them by the end of the shoot
but lets not ignore the lingering glances you and Changmin exchanged, or how he always managed to find an excuse to be stood with you and how whenever he’d walk you to your hotel room door he would try and make the conversation last as long as possible and always, always end the night with a hug
okay lets be real again, a crush had definitely formed, grown up, moved in and was now decorating the kitchen in your heart
Like you couldn’t get enough of his happy energy and humour
At the end of the final shoot when you’re all stood around talking and laughing Changmin grabs your arm and pulls you away
Clearly you don’t resist because like anyone would accept some alone time with Changmin
Gently he leads you to a couch in the corner of the room and sits down
His cheeks are already rosy when he starts to speak, his hand starting to get clammy against your own
“y/n, will you go on a date with me?” he blurts out quickly and then opening his eyes wide as if he was surprised he said it
and in that moment
your heart
burst and stopped and did a trip round the globe
“Of COURSE” you literally scream
His face lights up immediately and he jumps up hugs you quickly and darts off back to the others
you hear them all cheer and see them start hugging and pushing around a very, very blushy Changmin
Later that evening he arrives at your hotel room door, still wearing that same red hue on his cheeks
You go to the arcade together and the whole evening is wonderful
it’s no different than how you guys have spent time together the last few days but this time Changmin insists on holding your hand every second
As well as hugging you from behind when its your turn on the claw machine
Unfortunately you claw machine skills are...
Limited
But of course, your knight in shining hoodie and jeans swoops in and wins you the stuffed animal you really wanted
After you’d played every arcade game and taking endless amounts of cringey pics of each other you walk home slowly still hand in hand
“You know, I’m really glad I met you” he states out of the blue, still looking ahead of him
“Me too, I feel so complete with you around me” you reply back, swinging your joined hands slightly
From then on, you were never apart
Literally like the brand you did the shoot for hired you permanently for big moneys and a promise of a successful modelling career a few weeks after your first date with Changmin
Which you graciously accepted for only that reason
Not the fact the love of your life happened to live down road from your new apartment
and all you wanted to was hold his and forever
plus the rest of the group fully accepted you as one of their own
like seriously it was hard to find any moments alone with your boyfriend when hanging out at the dorms because hyunjae liked to ask what you’re doing every 3 minutes
as well as father maknae line demanding your attention every second you were there
not that you complained about any of it
because who would complain about a family like that
and a boyfriend like Changmin
really out here living your best life huh

i'm late but congrats on graduating and hitting 1k followers!! i'm so proud to see how far you've grown ^^ there is nowhere else to look but up now, all the best for your future endeavours ヽ(^Д^)ノ
idk why it is, but this semester has been having my brain running on fuel 25/8 . i suppose it's due to the increase of projects compared to last sem, but boy do they suck the life out of you. 😓 these last few weeks/month have been me running on autopilot trying to catch up to deadlines and constantly trying to not cause an argument with my groupmates every minute (whoever said that engineering guys are green flags need to change their opinion stat.). thank heavens that my sem break is soon because i can't stand being around them for any longer 😫(these are the same people i have to put up with until i finish my final year project, can you believe it? 🥲).
as i'm writing this, i have an exam i need to sit for in t minus 10 hours so wish me luck 🥲
anyways, now that you've graduated, are there any big plans that you are excited for? maybe a trip you've always wanted to go to or something you wanted to do but couldn't because you were still studying, let me know!
as always, stay safe and hydrated, remember to not skip meals, and never let someone affect your worth. ♡
🌻
AHHHHH MY RESPONSE IS LATE :(
agh i understand how you feel although we may not have gone through the same circumstances. days are dragging and all you want to do is to get everything done to the point that your mind is wired to getting tasks done over getting enough rest but i do hope you find time to take a break and breathe since a human's brain can not function to its optimum when you're tired and because you deserve it. engineering is never easy and i'm proud of you for pursuing it!! heckk you even do your best at every project. i salute you 😭 DUDE ABOUT ENGINEERING MEN AND GREEN FLAGS I-
story time! i was in a band in uni and our lead guitarist was an engineering student. he was nice and all that but boy he was flirty. he charms a lot and he does it through music or during practice sessions (since i hold the rhythm electric guitar and was the vocalist we practiced together a lot) that's when i thought engineering men are not green flags lol.
since i replied to your ask very late... is it your semester break? i could have wished you luck on your test on the day you sent this BUT LETS JUST SAY I DID IT UNCONSCIOUSLY 😭 i hope your test went well!
plans? hm, i'm still studying as of the moment lol. studying. never. ends. i'm telling you. i have a licensure exam next year and it's a countrywide exam for psychometricians. though i can go straight to work with my degree, the license adds credibility to my name so i'm working on that. and i'm planning on studying... again, told you it never ends, a graduate degree on clinical psychology since i aim to become a therapist soon but ya know with all the relatives, friends, and even neighbors knowing i finished a pre medicine course they're all encouraging me to continue med school. one of my friends in high school brought up (recently) how i initially had plans on pursuing medicine (gave up on that dream ages ago. figured it isnt for me lol) and told me that we should take the "entrance" test for med school together and i'm just gsndhsjs even the neighbors were surprised i graduated as a full scholar in my 4 year degree and told me i should definitely pursue medicine since i have a chance to continue med school with a scholarship again and that it's an opportunity not everyone has. it's kinda guilt tripping me in a way. med school is not easy. ALL THIS IS JUST MAKING ME- ugh
i just want kageyama bro
lol
but yeah, i'm taking one day at a time. for now, i'm studying and vibing. hopefully i get to visit a place outside of my country tho i went on a trip to beach with my family recently (helped with relaxing) if you missed the photos i posted i'll attach them here so you can feel the relaxing vibes of the sea. hopefully this helps you ease your mind of stress.

Damijon Week Day 1:Slice of life? Very poor choice of words… - A DamiJon Fic
Notes:
Heyo! So DamiJon week is here and here’s my meager contribution. So this is gonna be an entire week and imma do my best to write for every day...cuz this fic right here is the first chapter of  a series I’m making that follows the prompts for each day of the week. This one is the middleschool au prompt (er, not so au anymore cuz the comics are doing it, but in my version, Damian and Jon are classmates :p) and I’ll continue this with the next prompts and days as much as I can. So yeah, I hope you guys like it, and help support the week by submitting and tagging content! ( Jondamiweek2018, or Damijonweek2018)
Part 2  Part 3 Part 4
Tumblr media
“Mr. Wayne,” Mr Tomas called out firmly. His tone wasn’t overly pissed as all hell, but it was definitely in the range of ‘you-are-in such-deep-trouble’.
Jon winced as he glanced back two rows to his left. Although it wasn’t his name that was getting called out for a grade-A chewing-out, he couldn’t help but cringe as he watched Damian stand defiantly, meeting the teacher’s glare with a steely look of his own.
“What have I told you about giving unsolicited comments to your classmates?” the elderly man snapped.
“That you discourage my efforts to take over your job,” Damian quipped coolly.
Jon could see a vein throbbing on the side of Mr. Tomas’ head. The young Kent buried his face in his hands as he felt what can only be explained as shame on behalf of his friend.
“I said,” the teacher declared with an even louder voice, “that you leave the teaching to me. Your preferred method of teaching doesn’t conform to our school’s…standards of decency.”
“I was under the impression that I was doing Gino a favor by correcting his mistake with a succinct explanation,” Damian countered smoothly. There was no doubt that he could match the older man’s stiff formality, albeit with a hint of insolence.
“You wrote on his test paper,” Mr. Tomas raised the sheet in front of him and adjusted his glasses, “only an idiot would confuse Steinbeck’s symbolism for the pearl as anything other than greed and avarice. How stupid can you be?”  He looked daggers at Damian, who merely shrugged in reply.
“I’m not wrong,” Damian insisted.
“Mr. Wayne,” Mr. Tomas sighed deeply and heavily as if he was regretting his choices in life, “I’ll need to have a word with your father for this…”
“And I wish you the best of luck with that…sir.” Damian added the epithet as a lazy afterthought. “My father is very busy with his work and if you can grab his attention with something as trivial as this, you deserve a medal.”
Mr. Tomas gritted his teeth. Jon knew that his teacher was just itching to give Damian a harsher punishment, but couldn’t because Damian was the son of the school’s largest donor and honorary chairman, Bruce Wayne.
Damian sat back down with a satisfied look on his face. If Damian were anyone else, the class might have laughed appreciatively. But Jon could see how the other boys and girls either glared at Damian or inched away from him. It was almost like Damian was surrounded by an invisible force field of suck.
***
Tumblr media
Jon had been extremely excited when he’d found out that he and Damian were going to the same school. He’d fantasized about being locker buddies with Damian, eating lunch with him, doing homework, doing phys ed…everything, really. It was like Jon’s best dream come true. Everything was going to be fun, amazing, and infinitely awesome. But whatever giddiness he’d had back then had been replaced by a dull painful ache inside his stomach, one that would tug at his insides whenever Damian did…well…anything.
They’ve been enrolled at West-Reeve School for two weeks. Two Weeks. But for Jon, it felt like forever as he witnessed Damian’s not-so-simple adjustment period.
On the first day, Damian had been late, and someone had already taken the seat Jon that had saved for him. He’d been looking forward to being seatmates with Damian, too… When he’d asked Damian what the reason was for his tardiness, Damian had said that he’d gone out on patrol and ‘enjoyed’ himself before he was ‘shackled down to the education system’.
On the second day, they were grouped up in social studies to present in class. Damian had loudly protested that he should have been the leader of their group, because he was smarter than any of his groupmates. He had been voted out of the group, and the teacher had let him do the presentation alone. He’d still gotten the highest marks.
On the fourth day, some would-be bullies—some 8th graders—started to put the moves on Damian. It was nothing serious, really. They’d just started crowding around Damian and kind of coerced him to strike a conversation with them, because he was the ‘famous secret son of Bruce Wayne’. Then they’d made unflattering remarks about the fact that Damian’s mom had never been publicly identified. They’d left Damian after that, but the next day, the student body was abuzz about three 8th grade boys who’d had to be rushed to the hospital for broken limbs.
Three days ago, during an experiment in science, Damian had…almost assaulted their classmate Ben Percy. Damian had thrown a metal stirrer at the beaker Ben had been holding, shattering it, and staining Ben’s clothes with its contents. Damian had argued that Ben was about to ‘stupidly’ inhale the acrid vapor coming from the concoction like ‘an idiot’, which could have corroded his nostrils, so he’d taken action. Damian had narrowly avoided trouble because Ben hadn’t denied it, but he also argued that Damian could have used less violent methods.
Jon couldn’t do anything but wring his hands in exasperation, as Damian failed to realize that most middle-schoolers couldn’t throw objects with deadly accuracy like say, a batarang. That, and Damian’s little stunt was definitely in the list of ‘things that will make it obvious we’re actually superheroes’, which included, among other things, using their powers—Jon’s powers, mostly—for anything while in school.
He’d talked to Damian about that during one lunch period, but Damian had given him his usual stubborn replies. Today, he tried again.
“Damian,” Jon began as he bit into his sandwich and swallowed, “could you at least try to not be a jerk to the other kids?”
“Not my fault if they’re too slow to keep up with me,” Damian grunted in-between sips of orange juice. “Besides, I don’t see why they should have an issue with my attitude…I mean, you can take it.”
The pair sat on the school’s roof deck with their backs pressed against the wall of a maintenance closet. Ever since day one, Damian had refused point-blank to eat at the cafeteria with the other kids. This is how Jon found himself up the roof with Damian, eating their lunch, even though no one was allowed there. Damian had assured him that nothing will happen to them, because his dad practically owned the school—which wasn’t wrong.
“Damian,” Jon sighed wearily. “I’m used to you. We’re friends and we’ve known each other for a long time now. Our classmates didn’t have that time. You gotta be a little patient with them...just…play ball, y’know? How can you be a student in school if you make all the students in the school hate you?”
“I’ve infiltrated a school before…” Damian grumbled.
Tumblr media
“You’re not pretending to be a student, dummy!” Jon chided. “You are one! This is real! We’re students! And you really should try better to be one…”
Damian stood up with a frustrated look. “You can’t imagine how irritated I am with all of this!” Damian snapped at him. Jon dropped his sandwich in surprise.
“When I was a toddler I was already taught resourcefulness and independence, to get what I need by myself. Under my father, he taught me the same, but also ingenuity, and not a small measure of willpower! Now, these…children,” Damian spat the last word out. “They expect their hands to be held at every turn. And they’re praised for it! Even you consent to it!”
Jon knew Damian wasn’t really angry at him. Damian directed his fury to the sky, the floor, and the horizon, as if he blamed the whole world for its shortcomings. Damian wanted Jon there to listen…and that’s exactly what he knew Damian needed.
“Damian…” Jon stood up beside Damian and joined him in staring at the landscape below them. They could see the school parking lot and the main road leading back to downtown Metropolis. Students milled around the grounds and some of the younger kids ran around chasing each other.
“You know, the whole point of school is to hold hands…” Jon began. He grabbed Damian’s hand until their fingers intertwined, and then raised it in front of them.
“W—what are you on about?” Damian asked. If Jon hadn’t known any better, he could’ve sworn that Damian gulped.
“Sure, school teaches us…stuff…” Jon said with a cheerful tone. “But even you’d say that all the things they teach us in class are stuff you can look up online—or read in books,” Jon hastily added after seeing Damian’s disapproving look.
“But the whole point of being in a place with all these other kids learning the same things is that, you also get to see and learn stuff books will never tell you.”
“And pray tell, what are those?” Damian scoffed, his hand still clasped in Jon’s and growing warmer.
“It’s hard to explain…” Jon mused as he stuck his tongue out in thought. “But it’s a lot like our hands, see? We both have the same hands, but when we put them together…”
“We have two hands. Amazing,” Damian said flatly.
“No, dummy!” Jon insisted, shaking their combined hands emphatically. “It’s bigger together, is my point! Learning together with others is better than learning alone because you get a lot more learning done by seeing how everyone else gets it.”
“What…?” Damian asked, completely confused.
Jon stuck his tongue out again. “You get to see how what you learn is important to other people by how they learn it. Like say, Pete? His family has a farm like we used to before, so when we learned about proteins and stuff in science the other day, remember he said that they grow crops with that? Now with Gene, he’s in the track and field team, so he could be interested in that because remember, they gotta have a diet in the team.”
“Okay…?” Damian replied slowly.
“Damian…what’s the point of knowing a lot of things?” Jon asked patiently
“Knowledge is power…an advantage over your enemies,” Damian said confidently.
“No…knowledge isn’t just a sword you swing at bad guys Damian…the things you learn only matter if you know how they matter to other people. And if you know what matters to other people, only then can you help them,” Jon finished and then looked straight into Damian’s eyes.
Tumblr media
Damian tried to hold his gaze, but something in his eyes—and frankly his gut—made him feel awkward and he chose to stare at the floor instead.
“You sound like your dad,” Damian said simply.
“It took me a while to understand that when he talked to me, to be honest,” Jon said with a grin. “I asked him why I still have to go to school when he’s Superman and I’m Superboy anyway. So he gave me this whole lecture, and I just gave it to you.”
“So…” Damian started to say, “when you study, you try to see how it’ll be useful when it comes to helping people?”
“I guess…?” Jon replied, wondering where this was leading.
“Did you study me?” Damian asked in a small voice. “Is this what you’ve learned? How to help me? Because I’ll have you know that I don’t—!”
Jon gripped Damian’s hand tighter and placed it on his chest. It promptly shut Damian up.
“You’re my friend, Damian,” Jon said with a fond smile. “You can’t stop me from wanting to help you. And I always will even if you think you don’t need it.”
“Is holding my hand really part of helping me?” Damian said finally.
“Did it help?” Jon asked.
“Yeah…it did.”

mark lee x black reader highschool au
Tumblr media
(reader is female)
being in the same history and english classes and since the two teachers decided to pair up for a semester long project, there’s a bunch of group work that needs to be done
becoming partners through this with 3 other people
you guys are really the ones pulling the weight of your group tbh
on the 2nd meeting, you mention that you guys should create a gc for the group so you guys can stay up to date
mark pulling you aside after the meeting is over and saying “hey we should probably talk amongst ourselves too since you know…we’re the only ones really working here”
you feel the heat rushing to your cheeks because he’s close and his voice is low and he has really pretty eyes (thank God you’re black otherwise your face would’ve looked like a cherry tomato) and what’d he say again?
the gc annoys you a lot because the other 3 classmates don’t really care about the material
going off on them with mark in your private chats together and he’s agreeing with you and pitching in himself
staying up late to text each other about the group and actually go over the class assignment
when one classmate accidentally leaves the gc you honestly ask mark if you should add them back or not since they are the Laziest member
mark just looks at you like “y/n….” and you know he means Yes so you add them
meeting up with mark in the school library after class when you’re both free and working on the project (to be fair sometimes your groupmates come along)
one friday while you guys are just quietly doing your own thing, you notice him watching a dance video and you get (overly) excited and grin widely, nudging him a bit
you tell him you love dancing and you’ve been doing it for years and his eyes light up and he’s like “really??”
you guys forget about the project and start talking about your favorite dancers and dance studios and favorite choreos
looking at each others’ playlists and giving each other song recs
when it’s time to go that day, you actually feel your heart pang and you get sad because it was so nice talking to him and you won’t see him till monday
he notices you look sad and asks if you wanna meet up for brunch tomorrow and ofc you say yes
you wake up at 7am by accident because you’re so excited the next day and you can’t go back to sleep so you just look through your closet tryna find a chic outfit that says “i don’t care what im wearing but i Care”
you doing your makeup and halfway through you realize…you don’t know where you’re going
frantically getting to your phone and just as you’re about to text him, he calls you. a Phone Call
at this point you’ve never spoken on the phone before, just texted, so you’re nervous to pick it up and you’re so tempted to just ignore until he leaves a voicemail
on the 4th ring you go “oh fuck it” and pick it up
he’s panting, clearly rushing somewhere, and saying “hey! hey sorry i didn’t tell you the address of where to meet, im just now getting off the bus from my student council meeting and rushing to the place ” and he gives you the address of where you’ll meet up
it’s not that far - tbh it’s walking distance from where you live, so you wrap up the phone call, finish your makeup, and decide to just walk out
as you’re walking to the small cafe, you wonder why you spent so much time getting ready for mark when you don’t like him…..i mean you don’t right? how could you? he’s just your classmate
you almost miss the cafe entirely but mark shouts your name, startling you, and you walk up to him on the steps of the small place
he tells you he just got there but he already ordered oolong tea, a grilled cheese sandwich, and a blueberry muffin for you
you’re kinda annoyed he already ordered - esp since he had only just gotten there 2 minutes before you - but you feel shy when he says “i remembered you said during a convo once you’re more of a tea person” because i mean…it was kinda sweet
but you also ask if he ordered for himself and when he says “no, not yet,” you grin and tell him you’ll order for him
he blinks three times but doesn’t stop you so you order an americano, eggs, and a slice of lemon cake for him
when you finally sit down, the conversation immediately picks up from yesterday at the library - as if you just put a pause on a show, got up to do something, came back, and pressed play
everything feels natural and real and light when you’re with him, your laughter’s joining together and almost sounding harmonious in this small, old cafe
after a little over an hour of talking, mark rubs his hand alongside his nape and stares at his empty cup, clearing his throat
you lean your arm over from across the table and nudge him and ask him what’s up
when he looks up at you, you can see the nervous look in his eyes and he clears his throat again
before you can say anything he blurts out, “do you wanna go on a date me with later? to the movies? or maybe tomorrow if you’re busy today. actually you don’t even have to go out with me i have no idea what-”
you cut him off with a laugh and “a movie later sounds nice”
both of you stare at each other for a little bit with smiles on both faces before seamlessly continuing your previous conversation
before leaving each other at 2, you make plans to see a movie in a couple hours and you’ll meet at the mall in downtown to pick one out (he offered to pay for tickets and why would you refuse?)
let’s just say . You guys are talkers.
after the movie, you both spend a good hour analyzing your favorite scenes and laughing about the funny moments together
whenever you reflect on the funny scenes, mark claps his hands together, eyes wide, and goes “yeah yeah that part!”w
you feel your heart race every time you make him laugh with one of your jokes and any time he makes you laugh
when you do finally part ways, mark insists on taking you back home and so you catch a bus together
the bus ride home is filled with a comforting quiet and you notice mark starts to doze off
his head slowly falls onto your shoulder and you smile
since he has the window seat and its 8oclock, the sun begins to set on his face
you place your hand over his eyes to shield him and you feel a sense of warmth shower over you
when it’s your stop, you wake him up and it takes a few nudges before he opens his eyes
he doesn’t even notice his head is on your shoulder until after he rubs his eyes and looks up at you
he jolts up, stuttering out an apology but you giggle and tell him it’s fine - he looked like he needed the short rest
he also insists on walking you to your door and on the way there, he looks around at your neighborhood, noting the similarities between his and yours
it isn’t until he actually reaches your door that he realizes …… he lives just about 5 minutes from you - right around the corner actually
when he tells this to you, your first thought is “that’s great! that means we can hang out a lot more” and you don’t even realize you said that out loud until you see mark’s face light up a bit - both with excitement and embarrasment
you suddenly want to run inside and scream into your pillow so you try to end the goodbyes right now but mark places his hand on yours and you suddenly feel like time stands still
okay yes, his hand is on yours, time is standing still, everything feels a bit cheesy but life can be cheesy yknow? and right now it was about as cheesy as your best friend’s favorite triple decker grilled cheese sandwich
mark just smiles at you and says, “y/n, i’d really like hang out with you more….outside of school i mean,”
you smile and nod and he lets go of your hand and you both say your goodnights and “see you”s and you walk inside
you rush to your room, quickly greeting your parents, and jump onto your bed before screaming into your pillow
your parents eye each other from the living room but they let you be
mark texts you not 10 minutes after and you both end up texting each other until 1am, sending each other funny memes and videos of dancers along with college options and rants about your teachers
everything always feels so natural and calm with mark. even when your heart’s racing with him, it feels safe and warm and you can’t believe you fell so fast
