Hello! Thank you for asking about my week (and my ship). 

I enjoy the ship a lot too!! But are there any specific reason that their your favorite? 

To answer that first question...

You’re in for a long rollercoaster ride of a rant because I don’t think I’m the type of person to ship anything to the point of writing domestic fluff fics unless the I felt really really drawn to the ship. 

Anyway, (slight) spoilers abound! Will keep manga spoilers subtle, mostly Levihan scenes.

Disclaimer: I do not want to start shipping wars. I specifically avoided the words like should or best because I recognize that shipping is generally based on preferences. I respect everyone’s preferences on what they want out of a ship or even a relationship and through this, I just hope to express my own preferences and maybe even gush with people who agree.

1. The ship did not move the plot. The plot moved the ship.

Attack on Titan is not a romance or a shojo, if it’s not fairly obvious from any chapter you would randomly read. As a reader, I would have expected it to fall short with pairings. Most shows which are not romance based tend to have a few pairings which just suddenly end up together towards the end of the manga because “What’s a happy ending without marriage and kids?” There is usually a trend of just pairing of the extras and sometimes, or maybe even more often than not, it just seems to come out of nowhere (ehem... Naruto.). Maybe the relationship worked off screen but I dunno. Like no shipping war here but the only pairing I had full support for was Shikatema. 

In stories classified as romances, there is enough of a spotlight on the sexual tension and mutual pining of specific characters for the romance to be considered reasonable. In my opinion, some authors tend to sacrifice really good world building for a good romance. Objectively twilight for example had some crazy good world building but it just kinda focused a little too much on emo Bella and emo Edward for the world building to actually be appreciated by the casual reader. Tbh though, this is not necessarily bad because people get into stuff for reasons, sometimes, I just wanna read a good fantasy, sometimes I just wanna read a good romance.

Romances though as a main driving point for narratives, require some convenient serendipity moments and sexual tension which can be written well but as a reader, I prefer to see more natural relationships born out of necessity (Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata is a good example of what I’m talking about in a romance novel.)

Attack on Titan through its narrative actually made Levihan seem VERY VERY possible. If I had to compare the presentation of this ship in canon to at least one relationship in other anime, I would compare it to Royai from FMA. 

Like, if Attack on Titan didn’t give us random subtle hints about romantic or just platonic relationships between the two or even about anyone, even if Levi and Hange did get together in the end, it would have been one of the pairings, I probably wouldn’t have raised an eyebrow at. 

But they could be just friends? Which brings me to my next point.

2. Their current situation makes it so it’s only natural that at the least, they considered it. 

Yes. Friends is a valid interpretation for anything. I mean, given our hook up culture, people can fuck as friends too. People probably have made out drunk as friends too. Like I have seen my fair share of this type of bullshit in high school and college and I would say, we do not need a kiss or a fucking session to recognize that something can be a good relationship or to recognize that they have probably thought about it. 

A relationship requires a commitment (conscious or unconscious) to caring for the other, keeping the other safe, recognizing their flaws and thinking about them regularly (Call me scott peck or marriage counselor but like I honestly think the world would be a better place once people recognize that quality romantic relationships are worked for).

Mind you, Levi and Hange lost everything.They literally lost everything from their old life, all their friends, all their loved ones and all they have is each other and they’re forced to take care of a bunch of kids.

There are people who have said before, no one gets very close with someone without ever considering a romantic relationship with them. Or even if they never considered it romantic, they could consider at least “living with them their whole life,” or “supporting them through thick and thin.” The things is, towards the end, they were constantly together and what drove them to that situation is that both of them are aware of what the other had lost. They understood each other more than anyone else and they recognized that they were the only ones left in their own circle and I personally think that is more than enough for a relationship to naturally bloom between them.

3. The relationship and the signs are subtle and it works.

I personally probably would not have enjoyed it if canon showed a romantic relationship of the two after Erwin died. It’s a valid interpretation to consider that it could have happened, based on my explanation for number 2 but Hange is commander, Levi is captain. They have a professional relationship and they have goals and obligations which take precedence over personal desires. They are in the middle of a war and the most which probably could have happened was a secret mutual pining between the two and I think Isayama has injected the most subtle hints which are the most that could have been appropriately put into canon without seeming too OOC. Hange and Levi are not selfish people. They have promises, dreams and obligations which they respect and have committed themselves to already. It has also been shown at earlier points of the manga that they do put their survey corps duties on top of everything so acting on a romantic attraction at that point in time would have definitely been inappropriate. 

I personally think, the scenes of Hange going out of her way to save Levi as commander, killing her other soldiers to save both their asses, suggesting in the forest that they live together instead of go back to the war and not leaving an injured Levi until she had no choice were more powerful than a lot of romantic scenes where people actually fuck and kiss. Kissing and fucking are easy. Leaving the duties and responsibilities they have worked for for five years to keep the person they love alive hits way harder. 

Call it platonic. Call it romantic. But no one like Hange would have deserted her post as commander for a few chapters to take care of a sick comrade and kill her subordinates to save their asses if there wasn’t anything between them. 

4. It gives a great example what healthy relationships can come from. 

I grew up reading sweet valley and chick lits cause I was a basic bitch and I kinda grew up with a somehow unrealistic idea of where relationships come from. Call me a late bloomer but I only actually figured out where the romance and the happiness of a relationship was when I got into one with my best friend for five years. 

It’s the sexual tension and the “will they wont they?” push and pull which can lead to satisfying sex or a happy ending in romance novels. I think in a way, media kinda overglorifies it which kinda gives a lot of young people the wrong idea about why they getting into a relationship is fun in the first place.  Because after the satisfying sex and the kids, what’s next for the relationship?

Years of utility bills, diapers, chores, schedules, parent teacher conferences and compromises until someone gives up or dies. And what kind of relationships can actually thrive through all these? 

Those that have mastered the underrated parts of relationships. These include conflict resolutions, compromises and open communication. I think we have seen enough of those two, even before season 3 that have shown that they know each other very well and they have shown to at least have a relatively equal power dynamic which is a foundation for open communication and mutual trust in relationships even beyond the fucking and marriage stage 

5. They have a great foundation of character development for both parties.

As I mentioned above, they have a relatively equal power dynamic. I love Royai from FMA and I have compared Royai to this multiple times. I would say though I prefer Levihan over Royai because I felt that Royai had more unequal power dynamics? (Though I still think Royai is a top tier ship ). Also, they have shown to tell off the other when they don’t like what the other is doing. They are complete opposites but here is the magical thing. They talk everything out. They’re generally open people to each other and they know each other way too well as hinted in scenes before and opposites work as long as the others are willing to compromise. I think (especially in season 3 and season 4) that they have done enough for each other and have compromised enough for each other in the survey corps that these skills could easily be brought with them even after the war.

That open communication is just what makes them maintaining a relationship while being complete opposites very OC and realistic. Eventually, they did probably did make compromises, which most likely softened or moderated the crazy parts of their personalities which is just a really fun part of their relationship to explore. 

6. It could realistically last so maybe ...

7. A good foundation for happy children?

Maybe it’s how it is written because of the actual story and why would Yams write a romantic drama in a story about genocide and war. Tbh, I would attribute it more to Levi and Hange’s personalities though because Mikasa and Eren have their fair share of drama, mostly one sided though coz Mikasa. This relationship has no drama, no misunderstandings which just further supports my point that they have a relationship that thrives on open communication and mutual trust. Drama is fun like when we’re the ones on the sidelines eating the popcorn but I have third wheeled enough people in my life to realize that I will not support a relationship where both parties are just not ready to be mature about it, in real life and in fiction. 

My favorite couples, in real life and in fiction, are definitely those who keep conflict among themselves and maybe among trusted people. I think one sign of a healthy relationship is one where problems don’t become public through social media or through like 20 people. One important yet underrated part of relationships is the atmosphere of comfort and freedom which encourages both parties to be able to directly approach one another before tensions and uncertainties get out of hand.  

And a life free of dramas at least in the early stages of life just kinda shows at least that both parties are ready to bring a new life to the world? Because like immature parents with shitty conflict resolution skills really fuck kids up man and I passionately believe the world would really be a better place if babies were born out of trust, mutual understanding and open communication instead of sex but yeah, make sex fun to keep our race alive.

So anyway, I guess, I just finished explaining why I love this ship so much while also disclosing my preferences for relationships.

Morgo: The first time Jade made Morgo laugh, Jade instantly fell in love with him. 

Richard: He didn't tell Jian that it was Valentines Day, but he did treat him to a nice little evening with a fancy dinner while Jian was still super depressed about losing his leg.

Jian: His mom was really supportive of him being gay, but when she died there was no one left to shield him from his father.

Morgo: He and Spring have more siblings than they know. 🤫

Jian: He LOVES fireworks! He HATES nicknames!

Morgo: He likes joking around and making people laugh. It's hard for him to switch over from verbal to gestural humor once he loses his voice, but he pulls it off. There's nothing he hates more than people touching his hair, but being looked at in a sexual manner is a close second. (Jade is 100% ace, no worries there👍)

Richard: He loves the outdoors, loves hiking and doing yard work and home improvement and all that. Husband material. He doesn't like fast food or even most restaurants in general.

Jian: He had a very happy childhood! He lived with his mom and dad in their nice house in the suburbs of Chicago, and was a cheerful kid with plenty of friends and after-school activities. It only turned sour once he realized he was gay at around 12 years old, then got worse two years later when his mom got sick.

Morgo: Not a bright picture. He was taken from his scientist parents as an infant and used in freak shows as an attraction due to his novel genetics until he was "old enough" to be individually rented out to rich sadists.

Richard: He wasn't bullied necessarily, but he didn't make much of an effort to be friends with people as a kid, and barely anyone tried to be friends with him, either. A lot of lunchtimes spent alone in the library, reading science and history.

Jian: (this is tough bc originally one of Lucia's clients was gonna kill him lol) I don't wanna say he NEVER finds a good long-term partner, because that's what he WANTS and i DO have hope, but it's really hard to picture him growing old with someone. It's all up in the air at this point. My main characters tend to age along with me, so their futures are constantly under construction.

Morgo: (this is also tough bc originally he had a death scene but I've scrapped it) Same deal with him aging along with me..... But i can say that his hair never goes gray or changes color at all, because it's not exactly hair.

Richard: He is not self-conscious in the LEAST about getting older. He's a silver fox, babyyy

Morgo: When he and Jade were both with Ring’s trafficking operation, and they weren't uhhhh otherwise occupied, the two of them used to sneak into an abandoned attic space together and hang out. That's where Morgo got his name! He didn't have one, just whatever people decided to call him, so he and Jade brainstormed a secret little name for him.

If you want to focus on Kirielle’s relationship with someone who isn’t Zorian, for Kirielle and Nochka, they’re adorable and I’d love a further development of their friendship, especially getting to see it grow and develop over the months and years after the invasion.  If you want to write about Kiri and Zach, these two seem to have a lot of fun teaming up against Zorian lol, I really enjoy their dynamic and how they play off each other.  For Kirielle and Zorian, I love their dynamic!  And again here I’d really enjoy seeing their relationship developing in real time, rather than a constantly looping world.  I think it would be great to see either of them defending the other to their parents—and maybe Zorian ends up with custody of Kiri, there’s definitely things to explore there.

For Kirielle by herself, I’d love some sort of character study—what does she do now that the time loop is over?  She’s growing up into a war; will she be a mage?  An artist?  Something else?  Alternatively—what if she got pulled into the loop; what would it be like to grow older while still looking nine?

 Zach, Zach & Neolu:

Assuming you don’t go for a setting AU, I’d generally prefer something set at least in part after the time loop begins, but beyond that I don’t have a strong preference for where in the timeline this might be set.  Maybe something from before Zorian got looped in—maybe one of the iterations where Zach and Neolu just went off across the country having fun the whole month? Zach doing whatever, possibly very early on, or maybe him freaking out a little because what the hell, time travel is supposed to be impossible, and yet—what did he do in the start?

Or for post-canon, I’d really like an exploration of Zach, who’s got the lived-time of a middle-aged man and the body of a teenager—how does he relate to his classmates/other people in the real world, where everyone’s growing again?  Maybe something about his lawsuit against his caretaker, or just a little thing with him, Zorian, and How Do You Live Normally, Again?  This Is Hard, or some such thing.

 Raynie & Kiana:

Me? Latching onto a minor character in a big sprawling canon? It’s more likely than you think!

Anyway I like Raynie a lot; we don’t get a whole lot on her, but what we do get paints her as someone who’s having a very interesting life of her own, utterly divorced from the timeloop shenanigans (except re: the shifter children thing).

I like her and Kiana’s friendship, too; I like how when we finally see more of them both we learn more about how they’re similar and different.

For specific prompts, if you want to go pre-canon I’d really love something with her initial going to Cyoria and how she befriended Kiana in the first place (or, perhaps more likely, how Kiana befriended her; I somehow doubt that Raynie age 13, recently semi-exiled from her tribe, was particularly in search of outsider friends).

For post-canon, really, anything dealing with the fallout of all the things that go down in the real world would be fantastic too.

 Alanic & Silverlake, Alanic & Xvim:

I’ve grouped these because they both have to do with Alanic, but really they’re not very similar prompts.

For Alanic and Silverlake I’d be very interested in something to do with Alanic’s backstory; Silverlake knew him as a young necromancer, so… what happened there?  How did they know each other?  Why was Alanic set on becoming a necromancer; clearly he got far enough to have soul sight himself—how’d he get that?  Why did he leave the necromancer’s path to become a priest?

For Alanic and Xvim, I dunno, this seemed fun?  They’re both part of the “annoying but ultimately helpful teacher” club to Zorian, and they get along well with each other—gonna admit I don’t fully remember what goes down for them in the final, real-world iteration, but.  They’re both a lot of fun and they play off each other well; just go wild here.  I’m down for it if you are.

This is my “team betrayed Rapunzel and/or ill-advisedly trusted a blue spirit in the woods and/or died for her before being resurrected” group lol, and I’d love something that explores one of those things; canon gives us a little bit of that between Cass and Varian in the form of “Nothing Left to Lose,” but it doesn’t really address it after they’ve both found their way back; I’d love something post-canon for any of these pairs, after Cass has finally got her act together and they can start learning to deal with all of it.  Sharing their experiences!  Figuring out how to emotionally process the bad (or good-but-with-unfortunate-consequences-even-if-only-temporary) decisions you made!  I’m here for it.

 Eugene & Angry, Eugene & Catalina, Angry & Catalina, Angry & Catalina & Lance:

All the found family! If you’re just dealing with Angry and Catalina, I’d take anything at any point in the timeline tbh—how did they meet? When and how did they start thieving together?  What did they do between their major appearances in the show?  If you go post-canon—how do they work out their new lives with Lance?  They’ve been living on their own for at least two years, probably longer; how do they learn to let go and let someone else take care of them?  And for either (or both tbh) of them with Eugene—former child-thieves, reformed because of Rapunzel!  He doesn’t have any parental-style authority over them; how do they relate to him as opposed to Lance, in a post-canon world?

So, I enjoyed this silly little movie quite a lot—the characters were a lot of fun!  I love them all!  I really mostly just want more of them tbh.  If you want an overarching theme—I would adore time travel here, even more than I normally do. Time loops especially are just… perfection.

 Matteo & Roxana & Sam & Tuma, January & Matteo & Roxana & Tuma & Sam:

Team fic! Team fic! Team fic!  For these two sets, I’d love something about the whole team—of course—doing team-y things. You could set it in the summer, before shit goes down in the climax; or you could set it after—they’re going after January, of course.  What happens when they finally catch up to her?  What do they do?  How do they all process the relevant emotions of having been betrayed?  Do we catch a redemption arc?

 Mike & Sam:

These two are such good friends!  I like their friendship a lot, and I’d love to see more of it.  Something fun would be pre-canon—how did they meet?  What led them to start their band?  How much traction does their band have, really? Or post-canon—even having forgiven her, it’s got to be a lot to deal with, your best friend turning out to not just be a princess, but a superhero princess, while you’re just… a groundskeeper’s son(?).

 Eleanor, Eleanor & Sam, Catherine & Eleanor & Sam:

Family times!  There’s a lot of tension and secrets here, have been for a long time; tell me how they come to deal with it all and learn to live with each other better than they have been before the film—or give me backstory! How did things end up spiraling this far down?

 January & Sam:

I’d love to have something dealing with January’s PoV on the events of the film, or Sam’s PoV on January; more fun with secrets and betrayals!  (Fun for the audience at least; maybe less fun for these two though.) They got pretty close, after all—how did that have January feeling?  Did she second-guess herself over that?  How about Sam—she was the one betrayed by her new friend, after all.  If you want to see me talking more about just January, check out my Yuletide letter here.

 Worldbuilding:

Okay, so, I really did like this movie, so I say this affectionately, but… to call the worldbuilding here flimsy would be to, well, imply that it had bothered doing any worldbuilding whatsoever, and that’s not quite accurate, now is it?  To be clear, I do think this was probably a good decision, given that the movie is dedicated to superhero funtimes, not How The Hell Is This Happening, but it does leave me with so very many questions. For being a movie all about royalty, this movie is almost allergic to actually engaging any of the politics it hints at, what with the presented sides being “monarchy good” and “terrorism is fine actually”; if you want to write about the politics of the world these characters live in, by all means go ahead! For example, how did they manage to be a Western European absolute monarchy all the way to the present day?  I’d love to see that, or anything like it really, explored.  Other worldbuilding I’d be interested in includes an exploration of the “gene” which… somehow… manifests exclusively in second-born children of royal bloodlines—does this include bastard children?  What counts as a royal bloodline?  What happens when one of the superhero royal children has to ascend the throne?  Why only the second-born?  Is it really genetic at all, or is it some sort of magic?  If not magic, then wtaf is going on in the genetics of this world, I have to know more.

Look, I’m a sucker for identity/disguise shenanigans, and I love gender disguises, and for all the books I read as a kid featuring girls disguising themselves as boys to do [insert restricted activity here], I never saw its natural inverse; this is a travesty and must be corrected for.  Anything playing into this whole trope/idea is just chef’s kiss, I promise you I’ll love it.

 Child Superhero & Their Concerned Supervillain Nemesis:

Another favorite dynamic of mine!  I love supervillains getting tricked into that semi-parental role where they’re like “hang on I may be a supervillain and a criminal but you’re a child where are your parents what are you doing here,” it’s quite possibly the Best dynamic I have yet encountered in superhero fiction… even if I haven’t actually encountered it all that much.

Okay, I’ll admit that I mostly nominated and requested this for the pun potential.  But I think there’s also quite a lot of implicit lore you could really dig into; what kind of world is this, where magic can be imbued in or used through swords, but can also be related to mathematics?  Tell me more about it!  How do these two know each other?  Are they both shamelessly, pundamentally invested in wordplay as well as their actual jobs?  If you’re looking for more plot-implying ideas, I would be super down if you wanted to map this onto one of my other origfic requests (but no pressure lol).

Blake Belladonna and Myself.

Here’s the thing. I’m gonna tell you a bit about some semi dark times in my life. So, Trigger warnings are applied here for those that suffer or have suffered from Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Sexual abuse from a partner or parental figure. And hopefully that will shed some light on what I am going to say about my connection to my favorite RWBY character. Blake Belladonna. 

When I was about two years old my parents divorced. My mother had met this man by the name of Robert Domin. They got married and as a two year old I was excited to have a dad again. Seeing as my actual dad was not allowed to see me at the time due to my mothers manipulative tactics and managing to get a stronger custody hold on us than she should have. So this man, Robert Domin, He seemed like the greatest father figure alive. I looked up to this man until I was about 5 years old.  That man went from what I thought was a blessing..... to a wolf in sheeps clothing. My mother often had to work a tad later than he did. She worked at a bank and actually did an amazing job. So she was often stuck working later. Rob would get my brother in the shower and when he got out I was next. He would wait until he heard the water running, since we were 5 and 6 we had to leave the door open just in case something happened there was no chance of it being locked, after I had began getting in the shower he would creep into the room without saying anything and approach me. I don’t know the reason..... nor do I think I ever will...... But he would grab me by the arm and proceed to spank me as hard as he could several times.  Now, spankings. Not the worst thing. But he would do it until I was unable to sit down without feeling like I had knives in my rear. (Attempted to say that as humorlessly as I could.But feel free to laugh at the other ways I could have said it.) And this went on for the next 4 and a half years. My mother never caught on because I would often hide the pain or just flat out run away to dress myself whenever she was home.  Jump ahead to 10 year old me. Despite the traumas left behind by Robert I was excelling at school. I loved books and had actually begun the Harry Potter series.

I thoroughly enjoyed the series! I wanted to grow up to be as sassy as Snape, as Brave as Harry. and as Courageous as Harry. I had good friends and things were..... happy. Aside from the man I still had to come home to after school. Fortunately we moved to Jacksonville, Florida. He decided to divorce my mother because he did not want to move to Florida. I had thought that things were finally going my way. Until I found out my mom had been seeing a man by the name of Douglas Humphrey. Now here’s the trip. Amazing at first. He took us mudding in a big old truck and with a couple of four wheelers! It was awesome! We watched NASCAR together, we went and saw the 3rd spider-man movie in theaters together! But it didn’t last long. I had broken my foot while playing around with my brother but he had told me it wasn’t broken. To walk it off. My mother wanted me to go to the hospital but he wouldn’t let her take me. When she tried to leave anyways he got scary..... I spent 4 DAYS crawling around the house and limping with tears in my eyes at school. I kept telling everybody I was fine at school. But finally my mom had him take me to the hospital because it got to the point where I couldn't even walk on it without crying. The doctors took X-rays and found I had a break in between my big toe and what I call the index toe. I’m sure there’s a name for it but that’s what I call it. The doctors had to do whats called “resetting” because my food had actually partially healed. But it was very much so incorrect. They had to break my foot again. And this time it hurt worse. When I cried, as all kids would, He smacked me upside the head and told me to “Man up”. That was the first time he had hit me. And it.... gave me a feeling of impending doom. I was terrified that he was gonna turn out to be just like Rob. And I can say that I was wrong..... He was worse. Not only did he let his children walk all over us and do whatever they wanted to us. But he would punish my brother and I for retaliating. He would push us, choke us, he even held us while his children would hit us. He would physically abuse our own mother in front of us.He caused my mother and my Aunt to turn on each other..... I had to save my mothers life from my aunt. My brother managed to get her outside and I went and helped my mother up and locked her and myself in the bathroom..... She had a broken nose.... several cuts and gashes all over her face. Our living room was a literal bloody crime scene. It looked like somebody DIED in there. I had to lie to child protective services. I HAD TO DENY MYSELF AN ESCAPE FROM AN ABUSIVE ENVIRONMENT. Because if I had left.... I’m pretty sure he would have killed my mother....  I was thankfully removed from that situation and sent to live with my grandmother back home in Illinois. Then proceed the best years of my life. I finally met my best friend. Was the guy that a lot of people avoided. But those who did interact with me either loved me or hated me. And.... I felt normal. I FELT SAFE for once in my life.

Fast forward to age 19. I’ll keep this one a bit shorter.  I was in a semi-broken home living with my mother once again. Except there wasn’t any man trying to hit me. Or abuse me. A guy who was a bit of an ass hole but relatively harmless none the less was there instead. I had two baby sisters who I love so very much and are my best friends to this day. My mother and I got into a fight about money and she kicked me out. I wound up living on the streets. I thankfully had a job. But would constantly be found couch surfing or sleeping either inside a McDonald, which I had to buy something every couple hours to not be kicked out, or I would be sleeping under a highway bridge near my job. I met a guy who was really sweet. He said he wanted to fix the injustices that had been done to me. Just to clarify I am Bi-sexual. But I avoid men romantically for reasons you are about to learn. He sought to right the wrongs and love me for me. He wanted to help me heal. My traumas. My scars. My past. He made me feel..... whole. To this day I can’t recall his last name. But his first name haunts me. ad I hadn’t realized just how much until I met a particular character in RWBY.

ADAM. The fall of beacon hurt. But the part that hurt the most wasn’t Ruby losing two friends. It wasn’t Penny. It wasn’t Pyrrah. It was Adam. Fucking. Taurus. I couldn’t recall previous mentions of his name from earlier in the show. But Blake catching sight of him as he butchered Yang at the end of Volume 3. The terror in Blake's eyes struck a very personal chord with me. I have seen Adam after he and I have gone our separate ways..... and it truly is that terrifying.

My heart sank. You could hear the despair filling her soul. And it hurt me. My anxiety was at a high and honestly..... Hearing her say his name..... Adam... It terrified me. Adam Taurus represented everything I HATED about my Adam. The lies.... manipulation..... the mental and emotional abuse.  Admittedly I had written Blake off as the stereo typical moody, edgy, goth teen character. Because I had neglected to watch trailers for anyone except Ruby. I was certain Ruby Rose was going to be my favorite because she was fun and exciting and bad ass. But I would only be proven wrong in time.

Come Volume 6. Learning more about Blake’s past and her struggle with Adam. Her demons haunting her constantly. We all know why she ran. And why she feels the need to take on Adam alone. But you can see during their whole fight. She not fighting to beat him. She is NOT fighting to best her abuser. She is fighting to SURVIVE against someone she knows she could not beat on her own. But she still feels as though she HAS to try. Because this is HER battle. This is HER demon.  She does not even register the idea of asking Yang for help. And this.... also hit home very hard. I have been struggling with my demons for years. Not letting anyone in to understand them. Until I met my current group of friends. one of which is here on tumblr. And she helped me realize why I love Blake so much. ( @songbirdforever​ )  Blake realizing she could let people in and help her with this fight.... It helped me open up more to the people I care about.

Much like when Blake is able to set her fears aside and show a resolve unlike anything she has put forward with Yang being there. She gains the will to fight her demon. Yang, her friend, being there. Even though Blake did not tell her she needed her. And that Blake did not WANT her to be there out of fear of Yang getting hurt. She didn’t have a choice. She knew Yang would never leave her until she knew she was safe. 

Blake's Demon had already lashed out and maimed a loved one (Yang) once already. And seeing that same loved one face her demons with a resolve that she could not bring to muster up herself gave her a reason to stand firm. To stay her ground and tell him that she is not afraid anymore. Together. Blake and Yang kill Adam. Almost in mental synchronization they know what each other needs to succeed. This is a bond forged in fires that were kept by the demons of the past and fueled by scars. 

This is why I love her so much. She has not only shown me that it’s okay to not be able to fight your demons on your own. That sometimes you lose the struggle and cave.... But whether you know it or not.... someone sees your struggle. And there is going to be that one person that will always be there for you whether you want them to be or not. In your darkest hour the person you need will find their way to you and help you fight these battles. The victim turned victor. 

She has found someone she can confide in.... and someone who can help her heal. And it makes me so happy. In conclusion.... Blake's demons and my demons share a scary amount of beats. Including the point of us both being mentally and emotionally tortured by a man named Adam. A man who promised us safety and love. A man who betrayed us and only when we were all but destroyed did we manage to escape.

She found her Happiness. And I hope to one day be in the same light that she is.  Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this. I hope this explains why I have absolutely nothing but love for Blake Belladonna and can even see myself in her. As well as my undying support for the bees. This post is.... a lot more personal than I ever thought I would have gotten on this sight. But I couldn’t fully express my love and identification of this character without telling you what I have. And if any of you ever need an ear... I am always here to listen. I love you all. And I want you all to know you have a friend in me. So considering we are getting to the probable end of the Desire and Decorum in the next chapter or two (and I really don’t want it to end, it’s a very close second favourite series only beaten by Bloodbound because I love vampire myth and lore not sparkly Twilight vampires and believe me it is very very close between the series), I’ve decided it would be actually quite fun to properly introduce the future Sinclaire clan (the children of my MC, Beatrice and Ernest) as I have alluded to in most of my Desire and Decorum fanfics so here they are:

In order of birth:

Vincent Harry Sinclaire:

the eldest of the biological children (biological because the MC and Ernest could adopt Percival at the end of book 3).

Named for his grandfather, Vincent and his uncle Harry.

His godparents are Briar and Edmund.

he was born two months early in 1821 (unless Pixelberry pull a oh and the MC is pregnant at the end of book 3 or the Christmas special, which I am half expecting because Pixelberry need something to happen in the Christmas special and considering contraception was literally non existent in regency times the chances of MC getting pregnant soon after the wedding are high) in which case his birth year will be moved to like 1817 or 1818 to keep with the cannon of the book.

almost killed his mother in the process due to her Hemophilla (I headcannon that my MC has Hemophilla but is just extremely lucky and doesn’t get hurt very often despite the fact that she does some risky stuff that could end up getting her hurt in Desire and Decorum) but they were both perfectly fine in the end.

He is a very intelligent and strong willed boy with the same sullenness his father had as a child

There was a rumour going round that he was illegitimate due to his early birth (probably spread by Henrietta) which were constantly called into question right up until Ernest had enough and presented the birth certificate of his son to a court and got that to verify that Vincent was his at some point when Vincent was about to question it himself in his teen years (the plan was not entirely fool proof but still this was the 1800s)

Born after Vincent in 1822 with her twin brother George.

Her godparents are Annabelle Parsons and Luke Harper.

Very loud and Rambunctious child

She could rival lady Theresa Sutton (her probable aunt considering where book 3 is going with Harry’s romantic attention) in her loudness

At age six she goes almost mute with grief only talking to her mother, father and close friends for years

She’d probably be a Gay idol in today’s world, and she turns out to be gay but she does marry for convenience (although her mother does know about her daughters sexuality and is completely accepting of it, shocker for the time, I know but remember she’s friends with Mr Chambers and Mr Konevi and was accepting and supportive of them so why should it be any different for her daughter?)

Has her father’s hair and mother’s green eyes

Idolises Annabelle Parsons like she’s a godesss (she is her godmother after all)

Inherits Ledford Park From Ernest after his death (breaking the tradition of properties going to the first born son or any sons before daughters) which is a surprise that nobody but Ernest and Beatrice were expecting to happen.

George William Sinclaire:

Born 25 minutes after Mary in 1822.

Named for King George (III) as that name was a very popular name at the time anyway and being the Championess of the Realm his mother needed to honour the crown in some way and William Shakespeare, the playwright who’s play, ‘Much Ado about Nothing’ was the first book she read upon arriving at Edgewater.

His godparents are the same as Mary’s.

Quiet boy

Follows his sister’s lead a lot of the time.

Has a teddy he loves more than anything (except from his twin sister of course)

Very close to his uncle Harry

Enjoys playing sword fights with his brother Vincent

Looks like Ernest. Like a lot. Split image of him.

Becomes ill with yellow fever during his father’s birthday celebration

Passes away days later at the age of six

Doesn’t get to say goodbye to his twin or other siblings as they are at Hazelvale with Annabelle at the time.

Eustace Fitzwilliam Sinclaire:

Born in 1823.

First of the unplanned children.

Named after Fitzwilliam Sinclaire (the guy who’s initials are engraved in the family gun) in his second name. He is also named after St Eustace (the patron saint of difficult situations)

Godparents are Viscount Harry and miss Theresa Sutton.

His parents had pretty much called time on having children after the surprise of twins but obviously weren’t calling time on having fun 😉 (lack of sexual education and communication at the time meant most people didn’t have a clue that not having protection meant more risk of conceiving) and therefore he came into existence.

Inherited Hemophilla from his mother (the only one to do so)

Age 4 he fell down the stairs and had an uncontrollable bleed in his leg. Doctors were able to save it and him.

But he is stuck with a often painful limp as a result and using a crutch or something to walk.

He’s basically the tiny tim of the family (apart from the dying)

Quiet and clingy child. And is another child with the sullenness his father had as a child.

Mummy’s boy

Has Ernest’s eyes and his mother’s hair

Headcannon that he is my bloodbound mc’s great grandfather and he married into the the bloodkeeper line.

Baby of the family

Born in 1828 a few months before Ernest’s birthday

Named for Pope Clement I, patron saint of Marines and Stonecutters (which is very relevant) and her step-aunt and mother’s best friend, Briar.

Her godparents are Bartholomew Chambers and Viscountess Lavinia (I headcannon that Beatrice becomes very good friends with the Viscountess after the whole wedding and nobody can tell me otherwise)

She also wasn’t planned 😂

Was born early due to stress from a incident involving Mr Richards and her mother (Richards being a d**k, basically asked to see her on his deathbed and then was a arse to her causing her to become stressed and go into labour- I have a fic in the works about it)

Often Feels left out as she’s the youngest

Especially when her siblings are remembering about George since she was a baby when he died.

Daddy’s girl

Ernest is very protective of her because of the whole Richards thing and because he feels guilty about it.

Fun facts about my ML next-gen/plot changes

Originally, it was supposed to be a story where Alya’s son and Marinette’s daughter were Chat Noir and Ladybug, and they fell in love with each other over time, while Kagami’s daughter Kimiko tried to set them up

Maddie never existed in my original concept. Originally, Adrien and Marinette were supposed to have fraternal twins named Emma and Danielle, the latter of the two being Ladybug. They had another two children; twenty-three year old Hugo, and their twelve-year-old Louis.

Kara didn’t exist either. Originally, she would have been a boy named Peter, but that got changed around as I wanted to go for a more unique next-generation plotline. Kailie was going to have been named Caitlin.

Vivienne was going to be Chloe and Nathaniel’s daughter, and she was going through a hard time with her parents’ divorce because Chloe cheated with Kim.

Luka would have been with Lila, and their daughter would be named Anna. Kagami’s husband was a Japanese suitor chosen by her mother who died, leaving her to raise her daughter alone. Anna and Emma were school bullies, and joined Lila as supervillains, them becoming Bluebird and Farfalla.

There was a plot where Lila would have taken the Fox Miraculous and became Scarlet Fox, head villain of Paris, but as you may have guessed from the actual story concept that I went through with, the name was changed slightly to Scarlett Fox and made a superhero identity.

Kimiko went through a hard time due to Kagami turning into her own mother, feeling trapped in and stressed from her mother’s orders. She soon enough runs away, and lives on the streets for a little while until Peter’s older sister Mars finds her and takes her in.

Rose and Juleka’s daughter Daisy, helping her cousin Anna out, steals the Miracle Box from Master Fu and assembles a team of villains with the remaining Miraculouses.

Now, onto the current concept in the fic itself:

Maddie (Adrienette child), Kara (DJWifi), and Lilli were the final group of three, as opposed to Peter, Danielle and Kimiko, whom along with the original darker concept were scrapped as a whole, obviously.

Emma, instead of being Danielle’s sixteen-year-old twin, is thirteen years old. She’s much kinder and well-reasoned, along with more friendly and sociable as she helps her BFF, Kara’s thirteen-year-old sister Kailie in her journey of showing she isn’t all of the rough ‘n tough tomboy act she seems. When Kayla (Max and Alix’s 13yo) moves to Paris and joins the school and Harmony (Myvan 13yo) gets away from her private school, she helps them gain more friends than expected and makes them part of her ‘pack’. She’s also much more ambitious and energetic, and participates in much more than original!Emma did.

Rebecca, Chloe and Kim’s fifteen-year-old, has been through a lot: Experiencing extreme biphobia from her ‘friend’ and more-so enemy Brooke Anciel, Lila’s younger daughter with Marc, facing scrutiny from her soccer team, and her reputation in theater, fashion and drama clubs along with being constantly humiliated in the hotel’s restaurant has really lowered her self-esteem. But with her friends Vivienne and Jade by her side, along with Jade’s cousin Viveka, she slowly finds her way back to earth. Putting her not-so nice past behind her, she doesn’t try to fix her mistakes, but live with them and strive to be better for everyone: Her family, her friends, and most importantly, the entire city of Paris.

Viveka and Maddie used to be attached at the hip, but ever since Viveka started showing her care and appreciation for Rebecca in her hard time, Maddie’s started considering her as a traitor more than an older-sister figure. Viveka explains to Lilli that she still cares for both her sister and Maddie, but that Rebecca very well needs someone like her as a source of comfort in the time being. Viveka’s main struggles in life center around two things: The media refusing to believe she’s bisexual after stating her crush on Aurore and Mireille’s oldest child Andrew, and her going away to college in England soon once her final school year comes to a close. Considering they both have their own trials over their sexualities, Rebecca and Viveka find each other bonding over the subject in question.

Jade, out of all the children in the Couffaine family, has several things on her name: Being the smartest kid in her entire school, a prodigy in the violin, and a regional champion in archery, gymnastics, and karate. But as her dream as a child to go to the Tsukiryu Boarding High School for girls in Japan changes from an old fantasy into a sudden possibility, she learns that sometimes, sacrifices make or break a person. But thankfully enough, her cousin’s crush’s sister/her longtime best friend/wingwoman’s presence alongside her is just enough to break through her trials and errors that come her way in high school. Not to mention, despite her straightforward and strong-willed exterior, it would shatter her heart into a billion pieces if it meant leaving her seven-year-old sister Violet, who’s also one of her best friends in the universe behind.

Vivienne has a whirlwind coming her way too: Just as she’s began growing closer to her mother Sabrina’s new partner Wayhem, they suddenly split without her knowing a single piece of information on what happens. Not to mention, her father Nathaniel’s soon-to-be marriage to his boyfriend of seven-plus years Marc is just around the corner, and she doesn’t have many positive experiences with him and Lila’s daughter Brooke much, as well her BFF Rebecca. But thankfully, Brooke’s seventeen-year-old sister Victoria completely understands her almost stepsister’s struggle, and begins to assist her as her superheroine alter-ego: Dragon Queen, ruler of elements.

Emma, confused and frustrated with her fruitless and overwhelming civilian life, develops a crush on Rebecca around Christmastime, the person she’d least have expected to fall for. In a forced attempt to hide her sexuality from those around her, she begins a fake relationship with her childhood rival Simon, but soon enough realizes that it’s even more toxic for her as opposed to revealing herself as a lesbian.

Brooke’s ways of wrongdoing step up to another level, resulting in an absolute pandemonium of hell for those that know her. As the chaotic demeanor[s] or Red Robe and Seigneur Guepe level up and make Paris head into insanity, Maddie runs to Masters Fu and Marianne in need of one of the most helpful Miraculouses for a trail such as this: The Rabbit, letting the spunky and helpful Kayla Kante become Timekeeper. But will her ability to see the future from the present show a successful or drastic outcome for Team Miraculous?

Real Name: Jisoo Seon Alias: Soo (nickname) Ji-Yeon (assassin persona) DOB: April 28th Age: 28 Nationality: South Korean Height: 5’4” Sexual Orientation: Bisexual Occupation: Assassin Affiliation: Blackwatch (formerly)

Backstory:

Jisoo was born in South Korea and spent the first 5 years of her life living with her parents until they lost their lives in an omnic attack. This left her in the custody of her strict great aunt, her only known living relative. It was decided that she would join the military when she turned 18.

When she joined the military, she began training as a sniper, something she picked up on fairly quickly, though far from perfect. Her greatest weakness was her tunnel vision, which left her vulnerable to an omnic attack and resulted in the loss of part of her left forearm.

Unable to continue in the military, she was discharged early and was approached by Overwatch after catching the attention of Jack Morrison, who offered her a new arm in exchange for her services. She reluctantly accepted.

Her new arm gave her a lot of problems at first, though constantly being in the lab of Doctor Angela Zeigler allowed her to better her English speaking skills.

 Jisoo trained under Captain Ana Amari, improving her skills as a sniper. She improved so much that it attracted the attention of the commander of the covert ops division known as “Blackwatch”, aka Gabriel Reyes, when Jisoo was 20 years old.

Reyes expressed wanting a sniper for his next mission in Venice, Italy, to which Ana objected to at first. It took a lot of reassurance and promises that she would be safe and made to leave if anything went wrong for Ana to finally, albeit reluctantly, allow her to go.

And so Jisoo joined Blackwatch.

She was fitted with a uniform and given a run down on what Blackwatch did, the policies and about the next mission. Reyes explained she would watch over them from the rooftops while he and his team did the ground work.

His team consisted of himself, Jesse McCree, Moira O’Deorain and someone he simply referred to as “the ninja”, and who she would later learn was Genji Shimada, of the infamous Shimada clan.

Time finally came to depart for Italy, and she was finally introduced to the other members of the team before strapping in for departure.

 The mission went as expected, at least at first; Reyes and his team stealthily making their way toward Antonio, taking out guards as they went, and Jisoo covering from nearby rooftops with her sniper. At one point Jisoo had saved McCree by the skin of his teeth, thus the gunslinger claimed the sniper was their “guardian angel”. When things went wrong, Reyes demanded that Jisoo meet them as the rendezvous point, to which she protested but was reminded that he made a promise to Ana.

After hours of waiting, the team finally reunited with Jisoo at the rendezvous point. Reyes, McCree and Moira all went off together to another room, while Genji opted to sit alone. Jisoo decided to join him and the two briefly discussed the mission.

Jisoo asked if Genji would sit with her that night, admitting she didn’t want to be alone and felt unsafe. He agreed, though was unsure as to why she asked him and not Moira.

The plan was for Genji to keep guard while Jisoo slept, however that didn’t end up being the case. The two talked about their close calls with death, showing off their battle scars and eventually ended up in the bed together.

They shared a night of passion, which Jisoo had claimed was to relieve stress, but it wouldn’t be the last time the two agents were intimate with each other.

Back in Switzerland, Jisoo met other members of Blackwatch and befriended a woman named Rose, and eventually developed a sibling-like relationship with McCree. McCree even gave her the nickname “Soo”, which their close friend group all picked up on. The three of them, along with Genji, constantly got up to mischief together and often acted like a group of teenagers.

Jisoo’s relationship with Genji in private, however, was a lot more serious and the two often had conversations about rather heavy subjects. He would vent to her about his rage and self-loathing, and she would comfort him and make attempts to validate him. She admitted to being afraid of him sometimes, but she couldn’t keep herself away from him.

Their relationship wasn’t healthy by any means, and they both knew it, but they made it work for a while. He never told her he loved her but she was sure he did in his own way.

Everything was going fine until the news got out that Ana Amari died. Jisoo lost her mentor and someone she trusted and really admired.

And then Genji left. He had announced he had things he needed to take care of and wouldn’t be back, leaving Jisoo feeling heartbroken and lost. McCree left not too long afterward, no longer wanting to be part of the infighting Overwatch was facing because of what Blackwatch had done.

Rose’s death was the breaking point and Jisoo was forced to leave Overwatch, being in no emotional state to continue to work. She moved back home to South Korea with hopes of living a normal life.

She would soon learn of the fall of Overwatch, and the deaths of Jack Morrison and Gabriel Reyes, but at that point she was too numb to mourn anymore.

After an attack in her apartment, which began rumours of her demise, she went underground. She changed her way of life and took up jobs as an assassin, putting her skills she learned from Overwatch and the military to use. She assumed the alias “Ji-Yeon” and trained herself to change her voice so that she wouldn’t be recognised. She got angry. Her once cheery demeanour became nothing but a memory. Jisoo Seon was gone.

Over the years her anger and heartbreak dwindled into bitterness, and she only kept living and doing what she did purely out of spite.

Eventually she got hired to kill some rich douche, which started out like every other job, and she came face to face with another assassin. As it would turn out, the other woman was Rose, Jisoo’s “dead” friend from all of those years ago, now going by the alias “mcgee”. This meeting was no coincidence, but neither woman bothered to figure out why.

Jisoo was furious, but the two women talked, about everything, and mcgee reluctantly invited Jisoo to live with her in her old family farmhouse in an isolated area of Texas. Jisoo agreed, just to finally stop running, stay in one place and to feel safe for once.

One afternoon Jisoo awoke to a note which read the following: “Since you’re freeloading, you may as well drive into town and order us some takeout from that one place I like. You know the one. Keys are in the truck. You scratch my baby and I’ll kill you myself. –mcgee”

Jisoo did just that, but she wouldn’t make it back to the farmhouse for a few days. She ran into McCree, who had heard rumours of her passing and had been tracking her down for a few years. She ended up going back to his home with him, with the promise of a surprise. She learned that the surprise was Genji, who had come to seek help from McCree after he, too, had heard of her passing.

McCree chose to leave them and give them some time to talk and catch up, which would result in Jisoo expressing her disdain for Genji for so long and Genji explaining to her why he left; why he had to leave her behind.

He explained his concerns for their unhealthy relationship, and how he depended on her too much to keep him grounded, and that he had hoped she would flourish without him. He explained his quest for purpose, how he had finally come to accept what he was, and who he was, with the help of an omnic monk, his master, Tekhartha Zenyatta from Nepal.

He apologised for leaving with no explanation, for letting her deal with so much loss on her own, and wished he had been there to support her. She forgave him and apologised for blaming him for everything, and expressed contentment for his personal discoveries.

Jisoo spent three days with Genji and McCree before finally going back to mcgee’s farmhouse. This gave her the opportunity to reconcile with the two men and get to know them both all over again. Jisoo and Genji both expressed their desire to continue a romantic relationship, though a much healthier one, but needed to overcome a few obstacles first.

She would eventually learn that both Jack Morrison and Ana Amari were also alive; having so many questions for them but received so few answers. She was happy to learn so many of her loved ones were still alive after everything that happened. She could only hope she could say the same for Gabriel Reyes.

Dr. Metis was a fresh biochem graduate and fell in love with him before she knew of his evil tendencies. She got pregnant and had twins: Athena and Ares. Zeus was angry and lashed out at her at the news imploring she gets rid of them, but Metis wanted them and when they where born Zeus forged her signature to give up the babies and she dissapeared without a trace. Its unknown where is she today.

Ares grew up in a abusive orphanage while Athena was adopted into a life of luxury. But it didn't made her happy. Her adoptive father and mother was neglectful to her and her little bro, Timmy. George really just wanted the people of colors' votes.

In death Athena found the haunted mansion after seeing a Disney ad. Where she found Beau and he has became her adoptive father who loves and respects her. She loves him dearly.

VULNERABILITIES. Physically: Her sparks can give her location even when invisble. She hasn't figured out how to control them yet. They can also catch something else on fire and electrocute somebody else. If its bad you can smell her burning.

Y/N paced the kitchen, biting her bottom lip and wringing her hands.  Her nervous stomach rolled and she kept glancing at her silent phone sitting on the table.  

“You can always back out if you aren't ready to talk to him about all of this,” Jeremiah said gently.  “Don't get me wrong, I think it's wonderful that you want to open up and explore the connection, but I don't want you to force yourself.”  She stopped walking and let out a long sigh.

“I think if I don't do it now I never will, and we'll both spend the rest of our lives wondering what could have happened…  At least I know I would. I can't speak for him.”  

“No one likes living with what ifs.  You're doing the right thing.”  Will told her.  The three of them jumped when her phone let out a loud 'ping'. With slightly trembling hands, she picked it up and read the message on the screen.  

“He's here.  You can go let him in on your way out.”  Will kissed her forehead.  

“We'll be back in a few hours, unless you need us.”  He took her hand and squeezed it.  “I'm so proud of you.”  He whispered.  The words of encouragement gave her a boost of strength.  She watched the two men leave, knowing that it would be only another minute or so before Steve was standing in front of her.  It wasn't enough time to prepare her system for the jolt she got when he walked through the door. He was so tall and broad shouldered that it made her feel delicate and small, she hadn't felt that way since she was a little girl.  Then he smiled at her, his bright blue eyes lighting up and it aggravated the flock of birds that seemed to have taken up residence in her stomach.

“Hi.”  She said timidly.  

“Hi,” he replied.  “I uh, brought you this.”  He handed her a cup full of iced coffee.  “I remembered seeing you with a cup from the coffee place down the street so I took the chance that someone working there would know who you were and what you liked.”  He blushed.  

“It's my favorite, thank you.”  She told him after taking a sip.  The effort he had gone through to bring her her favorite drink touched her more than if he had just brought flowers or candy.  It reinforced the gut instincts she had been feeling from the moment their hands touched weeks before.  This was the Alpha for her.  “Let's sit in here, I got some bagels from the deli.”  They sat at the kitchen table and Steve looked around the room.  

“This is really a nice place.  Have the three of you always lived together?”  Y/N let out a quiet sigh.  

“It's part of the story I need to tell you.”  She had been wondering how to begin, and it looked as if he had unknowingly broken the ice.  She took his hand and guided his fingers to her upper arm.  “Press down here,” she told him.  “Do you feel that little bump?  Like a pebble or grain of rice under the skin?”  He prodded her for a moment and then nodded.  “It's an implant to stop my heats.”  

“Like suppressants?”  He asked, looking a little confused.  

“Yes and no.” She let go of his hand and wrapped her arms around herself, covering the spot where the implant was hidden under her skin.  “Most Omegas take suppressants to protect them from going into heat unexpectedly before they're mated.  Some take them after for a while after mating because hormones in the beginning of a brand new bond can be unpredictable and the suppressants help to regulate until the couple's cycles are established.”  She paused to see if he was following her so far, he nodded again.  “This stops my cycle completely.  I haven't had a single heat since it was implanted a few years ago.”  His eyes widened.

“I had no idea they could do that.”  

“It's not common. These implants are only used in rare cases.”  

“And you asked me here so you can tell me why you have one.”  

“Yes.”  She felt chest tighten in anxiety.  “It's not a pretty story, Steve. But you need to know my past before you decide to try and have some kind of a future with me.”  His eyes blazed with stubborn determination.  She half expected him to make some kind of declaration, but he only rested his hand on her knee and gave it a gentle squeeze.

“Go ahead,” he said.  “I'll just let you talk, okay?”  

“Okay.”  She took a deep breath.  “For pretty much my whole life, me and Will have been inseparable.  I was born three weeks after him and our mothers were close to we grew up together, practically like siblings. My parents died in a car accident a few months after we finished high school so he's not just my best friend, he's my family.  When he met Jeremiah…  I decided it was time for me to 'cut the cord' and give them some space to enjoy their new bond and explore their relationship without a third wheel around all the time, so when they moved in here together I found myself a cute little apartment to give living on my own a try.”  She got up and walked into the living room, returning with a book.  “You see, Jeremiah owns this whole building.  The shop, and all the floors above it.”  She pushed the book across the table to Steve.

“J.R. Montgomery?”  He searched his brain for the name.  “He's on the New York Times best sellers list all the time!  Wanda loves his books.”  Y/N grinned.

“That's Jeremiah's pen name.  He uses his grandmother's maiden name.  He's the black sheep of the Samuel family.  His grandfather left each of his grandchildren a very substantial inheritance to be received when they mated.  His family tried to keep it from him because he presented as an Omega and mated to a male Alpha. His grandmother fought them tooth and nail and finally won because her husband's will said nothing about the recipient's presentation or the gender of the person they mated, only that it had to be a mating bond.  They gave him his money and turned their backs on him, expect for his grandmother.  She's a great lady.”  

“Wow. Wanda will be so jealous that I got to meet J.R. Montgomery.”  

“I'll make him sign some books for you to bring her.”  She said with a grin.  It faded when she remembered the reason she was telling him all of this.  “So I set myself up in my own place, living alone for the first time in my life.  I was really happy.  Will and I could finally stop working out of other people's shops and opened our own. I adored Jeremiah and how much he believed in not just his mate, but me as well.  Without his support I don't think any of this would be possible.  Sometimes I still can't believe that the life we fantasized about as kids is actually reality.  I really love what I do.”

“It shows in your work.”  Steve smiled warmly.  

“Unfortunately, it was my job that lead me to the worst thing I've ever experienced.” Now that she was at the real crux of the story, her nerves were starting to get to her.  Her bagel threatened to make a reappearance. “Worse than losing both of my parents in one night when I was eighteen.”  Steve looked like he wanted to hug her but settled for taking her hand, afraid anything more would spook her.

“Take your time.”

“He was a Beta,” she whispered.  “Came in for a tattoo.  He seemed really nice.”  She didn't realize she had laced her fingers with Steve's, holding on to him like an anchor.  “I wasn't used to attention from guys.  I was a fat kid in school, and I spent all my time with my Alpha best friend.  But he was cute and charming and seemed interested in me.  It felt really good to have someone flirt with me.  I didn't really feel any kind of spark, but I tricked myself into thinking I did.  Will didn't like him but I brushed him off.  In my head he was just playing the over protective brother.  So I went out with him a few times.  He acted kind of possessive, but I told myself I should be flattered.  He wanted people to know he was with me.  Some part of me knew that his behavior bordered on inappropriate, but he never got nasty or physical so I said nothing.”  She stopped talking for a few moments and Steve rubbed his thumb over the back of her hand, noticing the faint scars once again.  He said nothing and let her collect her thoughts.  

“After a few casual dates, I decided we would work better as friends and I told him that. We had only kissed a couple of times, nothing serious.  He was disappointed but accepted my decision.  I liked the attention, but I just couldn't ignore the fact that deep down I still hoped for that bond I saw Omegas have with their Alphas, like Will and Jeremiah.  I didn't feel anything romantic for him and I didn't want to try and force it.  I figured that was that and went on enjoying my life.  I loved my little apartment and struck up a friendship with an Omega that moved into the apartment next to mine.  Having another single woman to hang out with was so much fun.  I still saw Will all the time, not just at the shop, but he was newly mated.  But then I started running into that Beta.  It creeped me out, but I pushed those feelings aside and chalked it up to coincidence.  Until I couldn't anymore.  He was everywhere.  

Grocery stores, restaurants, on the street, everywhere.  I constantly felt like I was being watched.  I was paranoid and scared but I thought I was being silly so I said nothing.  Will and Jeremiah began to notice that he kept showing up exactly where I happened to be and told me it was suspicious.  Again, I brushed them off.  He was a nice guy, we were friends, it wasn't a big deal.  And then my heat came.”  Steve realized she had tears in her eyes.  “Rosie checked on me before she was going out on a date, we had been helping each other with our heats.  Making sure the other one was okay, had plenty of food, were staying hydrated…  She brought me some matzo ball soup and orange juice and then left.  I settled in with my heating pad, prepared for a typical night alone. About ten minutes after she left me, there was a knock on my door.  I figured it was her, maybe she forgot something.”  Y/N squeezed Steve's hand.  “It was him.  He slipped in behind a pizza delivery guy.  He waited until he knew Rosie was gone so I would be completely alone.”  She was trembling.  Steve moved his chair closer to her and took both of her hands.  

“It's okay, you don't have to tell me what he did.”  His heart was racing.  

“I tried to fight him off,” she said in a shaky voice.  “I was so weak from my heat.  The scars are faded now, but some days I swear I can still see the gouges he left on my hands like they're still fresh.  He was out of his mind on black market rut hormones.  Told me if I wanted an Alpha he'd give me an Alpha.  He… used me.  He was so angry that he couldn't knot me so he beat me and shoved a fake knot into me af-afterward.  Finally he hit and kicked me so hard I started to cough up blood.  He left me to die.  If Rosie had decided to go back to her date's apartment after her date, I probably would have.  She came back and my door was left open.  She found me barely conscious and called 911.”  When she stopped speaking she was surprised to find herself in Steve's arms.  He rubbed a hand over her back, comforting her.  

“I'm so sorry that happened to you.”  He said in a thick voice.  “Where is he now?”  She didn't miss the way his voice hardened in anger when he asked.  

“They picked him up not too long after the police showed up.  I was lucid enough to tell them who attacked me.”  She swallowed a lump in her throat.  “He hung himself in the holding cell.”  His silence after her answer spoke volumes.  “I was in the hospital for two and a half weeks.  He damn near beat me to death.  Will and Jeremiah barely left my side, and when I told them I was scared to go back to my apartment, they took care of all the arrangements to move me in with them above the shop.”  She reached up and rubbed her arm where the implant was.  “When my next heat hit…  I lost my mind. I was so panicked and terrified I had to be admitted into the hospital and sedated.  When it was done…  A psychiatrist and my doctor came to see me.  We talked about all my options and I decided the implant was the best choice.  The trauma was still too fresh, and the thought of going through another heat at that time… it was unbearable.”  

“I can only imagine what you must have gone through.”  

“You had to know.  Steve,” she pulled away and looked him in the eyes, her face strained.  “For the first time in almost four years, I'm thinking about having it removed, but it's not that simple.”  

“It doesn't need to be.  Do you think I'm going to run away from… this because it's gonna be hard?  You're mine and I'm yours.”

“It isn't just about starting my heats again.”  Her eyes filled with tears.  “There's about an 85% chance that I-I'm sterile.”  She choked out.  Steve felt a slight pang in his heart, but not because of her admission. It changed nothing to him.  

“I hate that I couldn't have found you sooner,” he said sadly.  “That you had to go through any of this.”  

“There's no guarantee that it wouldn't have still happened.  The only person at fault is the person that did this.  Will blamed himself for months, he probably still does.  Some days I still blame myself.” He suddenly pulled completely away from her, looking horrified.  

“I didn't even ask if it was okay to touch you!” Y/N smiled softly and reached out to him.  

“I've always been a touchy-feely person,” she slipped her hands into his. “There was a little while after, it was difficult to want the comfort of contact but still be wary…  I appreciate that you were worried about that, but I don't want you to be afraid to do something.”

“I thought about when we first met, when you left...”  

“It wasn't about the touch, it was-”  she looked away, her face hot. “Remember when I said I was uh, reacting like you were?”  

“Yeah.”

“For about five seconds I wanted to dig the implant out of my arm and, uhhh, do things.”  Steve smirked.  

“Oh really?”  She groaned.  

“Don't get all smug Alpha on me now.  It freaked me out.  I never had an urge that strong before.”  She rolled her eyes when his smirk grew. “You can just cut it out with that face.  At least I didn't smell like a brothel.”  Emboldened, Steve leaned in and breathed in her scent.  

“You liked how I smelled.”  He said teasingly.  

“God help me, but I did.  I do.”  She admitted.  He nuzzled his cheek against hers, restraining himself from full on scenting her.  

“Nothing you told me is going to scare me away.”  He told her.  “I still want to explore this…connection between us.”  

“I do too.”  

“We can take this slow.  Contrary to the way I- ahem- smelled when we met, I am capable of controlling myself.  For the most part.” He said with a wink, and then blushed.

“So, maybe we could go on a real date?”  She asked, her face brightening.  Now that everything was out in the open she felt like a huge weight had been lifted off of her.  Steve pressed a gentle kiss to her knuckles.  

“Absolutely. I would be honored to court you, Doll.”  She giggled.  In the back of her mind a small voice told her that they wouldn't have to move slowly for too much longer.

The 100 rewatch: 1x11 The Calm

And this is the last of the 4 episodes I rewatched last week. My schedule is going to be sped up starting with the next week. I can’t continue to watch it on Fox Serbia. They are now showing The Passage in that timeslot on Friday. Four episodes a week is too slow (they'll finish showing S3 in mid-April at this rate), so from the next week, I'm going to start watching season 2 etc. at my own rate, to have enough time to finish it before the season 6 premiere.

The first time I watched this episode, I had a terrible allergy, so I didn’t enjoy it much. This time, I liked it much better. It’s really intense and sets up the two part finale well.

Rating: 8/10

The Ark plot was mostly about Kane’s redemption. He saved a lot of people, including Jaha and Abby, and was ready to die for it (“No one else will die because of me”), but this show usually doesn’t allow people redemptive deaths, but instead makes them live on and work for it constantly. 

Wick is first introduced. He was a fun character, too bad the actor was such an a-hole.

After the show killed off so many of the named Delinquents by episode 6, we got new introductions in every episode. A couple new background Delinquents are introduced – a jerk called Del, who insults Octavia because of her relationship with Lincoln, and then ends up stupidly causing a fire and burning all their food, forcing them to go hunt in pairs* (I’m pretty sure we never see him again), and Miles (a redshirt who went on the hunting trip with Clarke and Finn, but surprisingly didn't die - yet).

*Just how many things can go wrong for them? It’s really Murphy’s Law (not the episode, but the “everything that can go wrong, will go wrong” rule).

It’s interesting to see the S1 militaristic Bellamy arguing for fighting, and Clarke talking – to herself as much as to him – about how bad the cycle of violence is. It’s obvious that her words are having an influence on him because he respects her opinion, unlike Finn’s. By season 5, however, they’ll pretty much switch roles. 

First mention of Monty’s parents.

I think that this is the first time we see Bellamy give a pep talk to someone (that was usually Clarke’s thing in season 1), when he convinces Raven that the 100 need her because of how smart and capable she is.

In retrospect, the random and ill-advised Bellamy/Raven hookup almost seems like something the show did to get that out of the way and kill any sexual tension they might have had going further, You have those two really hot people who would make a good couple on paper, but they’ve never had any romantic feelings for each other. And after having a one night stand for all the wrong reasons (issues about feelings for other people), and especially after after learning that Finn and Clarke weren’t off to have sexy times as Raven had thought, but were captured by the Grounders, and feeling crappy about it... they’ve gone on to become just..actually platonic friends (very much unlike Bellamy and Clarke, who are supposed to be “platonic friends” according to some fans, but constantly interact like two people in love) and neither has shown any inclination to again go there - as far as we are aware, not even during the 6 years on the spaceship.

The show really liked killing little girls in S1. Here it’s a girl called Tris, Anya’s second, who was wounded at the bridge. (And Anya, of course, again blames the 100 and tells Clarke: “You did this!” – here we go again – not the last time the Grounders blame the Arkers for daring to defend themselves against them.) This is the first time we learned that the Grounders send little kids in battle, similar as was done with young squires in European middle ages, only it’s both genders. Clarke’s reaction to that bit of info about Grounder culture is a completely relatable shock: ”What is wrong with you, people?" (Not the last time she will comment on the stupidity of some aspect of the Grounder culture that she’s just learned about.)

Clarke commits her first murder and shows she can be cold blooded and sneaky when she must, distracting the guard/warrior by asking him about Grounder ways and his history, and using the info he gives her – his bad knee - to kill him so she can escape. She may not like the cycle of violence, but she's ready to be ruthless when she has no other choice. 

The info that Grounders have a mark on their body for each person they kill isn’t something ever brought up again, is it? (It’s lucky that the Arkers don’t do that, or Clarke and Bellamy would have marks all over their bodies in a few seasons!)

More hints about Mount Weather, as Monty figures out someone jammed the signal and crashed the Exodus ship. Cliffhanger ending with Finn taken away to be killed by the Grounders (which was never convincing, anyone could guess he wouldn’t be killed off-screen) and Clarke and Monty both captured – but she’s captured by Grounders, and he by Mountain Men.

Body count: 2 Grounders –Tris, because Clarke wasn’t able to save her, and the Grounder warrior Clarke killed. A large number of people on the Ark, but I don’t know how many. Kane says there are 1000 people left, and about 1500 died because of the loss of power on the Ark, but his math can’t be right, because they said previously there were 2236 people on the Ark, and a lot of people were on Exodus ship and died in a crash. So I have no idea.

Why?Arden ended up joining the NCR, mostly because she’s scared of being on her own and her relationship with Boone naturally led to her joining up. She also wants to try make the NCR better.She destroyed the Legion, mostly because of their cruelty, but partially because she was angry that they’d hurt Boone that badly.

What is their S.P.E.C.I.A.L.?Cristina’s SPECIAL is… well, I don’t actually remember what it was. I just know she has low strength (think 3 or lower) and high intelligence (10). What I remember, though, is that I tried to average it as best I could.

Give us a summary of their backstory.(I was actually thinking abt this at work today!)Arden Grace was born to an enigmatic woman named Eden, and a disgraced Paladin of Steel named Morgan O’Hara. After her mother and father were captured by the Legion, and her father killed for resisting, her mother was exposed to extreme radiation and thus Arden’s genetic code was mutated (hence her purple hair). She was left at her adoptive parent’s place hours before her mother died, and grew up in Carey’s home village alongside a brother named Daniel. She was constantly bullied and developed something of a problem with being called stupid (or variation thereof). When she was 18, the three of them left the village, going their separate ways. Arden became a Courier of the Mojave Express, and the rest follows Fallout New Vegas!

Do they have any nicknames and how did they get em?Cristina Elaine Montgomery is her maiden name, later on it’s Howard and even later on it’s MacCready. Her name has no meaning I just liked it. She goes by Cris (her name shortened, easier to say) and Crissy (given to her by MacCready). She got both nicknames by people she cared for, but there’s no sweet story behind either.

What’s their sexual, romantic, and gender orientation? Do they feel comfortable telling other people?Arden is uncomfortable telling everyone, because she doesn’t really know herself, but she’s heterosexual, heteroromantic, and cis female.

Do they have any mental illnesses? How do they cope?Cristina has anxiety and depression. She copes well enough, but some days it’s more difficult than others, all things considering.

Or do they shake it off rather easily?Cristina is not okay with killing every day to survive and it takes its toll on her drastically in her first few weeks of being in the wasteland. Even months on, she still struggles.

Do they move around a lot or prefer to have a place to call home?Cristina prefers to have a place to call home. She wants to raise her family somewhere, after all.

Their opinions on ghouls, feral and not feral?Feral ghouls? Cristina’s afraid of them but she also pities them. Non-ferals are regarded as simply other people, although she was initially spooked by their lack of… noses.

She barely listened to the radio before the bombs fell, she barely does now. However, she will occasionally listen to Diamond City radio just to see how Travis is going.

What’s their favorite post-apocalyptic food? Are they a picky eater? Do they know how to cook?Arden LOVES a good omelette, be it radscorp or deathclaw. She’s not picky, though, and she can cook most things pretty well.

What’s their favorite beverage? Do they drink alcohol?Cristina loves Nuka Cola even if it’s just syrup these days. She doesn’t drink a LOT, but on a hot day she will down a few cool-ish beers.

like three seconds ? jiwon has the attention span of a goldfish and must be constantly entertained otherwise he’ll die

How easy is it for your character to laugh?

so, so, so easy ! my boy is a ray of sunshine. he’s laughing at his own goddamn joke before he even tells it.

How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)

listen ? whale songs and all that cutesy stuff ? for losers. if you’re a real alpha you surf youtube for eight hours till your eyes straight up don’t work anymore.

How easy is it to earn their trust?

surprisingly difficult. jiwon has a big circle of acquaintances that he’ll do a lot of things for but if you want to know the man’s deepest darkest insecurities you won’t get them very easily. he has only four or so friends that he would trust that shit to.

How easy is it to earn their mistrust?

again, not very easy. jiwon is not very good at cutting people out, and he tends to keep giving people second chances to sully his trust again and again. save this fool.

Do they consider laws flexible, or immovable?

laws are generally there for a reason, and jiwon respects most of them. and the fact that they exist makes it all the more fun for him to try and break some of the lesser ones like speeding laws. on a scale of 0 meaning inflexible to 10 meaning ‘a light suggestion’, jiwon considers laws to be a 6. 

What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling?

meeting younger people and generally being in environments previously visited may sometimes trigger a feeling of nostalgia in him. but this isn’t very frequent. he’s always thinking about the new, not the old. the rare times he does experience nostalgia, he can get kind of mournful about it — where did the good old days go.

What were they told to stop/start doing most often as a child?

child jiwon was louder and more confrontational than adult jiwon. one story i am absolutely convinced happened was that he was painting in the first grade when the teacher came up to him, looked at his work and said ‘it’s wonderful but don’t you think it needs more colour?’ so my man jc dipped his fingers in paint and held her cheeks saying ‘you need more colour!’ so, yeah, he definitely was told to be nicer and more respectful.

Do they swear? Do they remember their first swear word?

jiwon swears without abandon, but doesn’t have a natural inclination towards especially vulgar words. his first swear word was probably 년 ( equivalent of bitch ). likely directed at his sister.

What lie do they most frequently remember telling? Does it haunt them?

jiwon’s parents and sister are pretty liberal, and he’s managed to get his way without offending them too much. he’s only ever frequently lied to teachers about work and skipping classes, and occasionally to the house warden about why his window was open, and why so many stones were thrown at the finley hall down the street. no, it absolutely doesn’t haunt him; it’s too insignificant.

How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)?

ask. ask like sixty questions. sometimes he’ll play devil’s advocate and poke holes in people’s knowledge. just as a test, you know.

How do they deal with an itch found in a place they can’t quite reach?

you know how baloo in the jungle book rubs against a tree when his back itches. yeah. he tries to make it look natural. 

What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color?

i mean, jiwon’s face and body ensures that he looks good in any colour. and he also believes he looks good in any colour. 

What animal do they fear most?

listen. jiwon doesn’t trust horses. back when he was 14 or so, he wanted to learn to ride and for some reason the horses didn’t take to his absolutely irresistible charm. the one called johnny knocked him off after less than ten seconds. other than that he’s also not a fan of rats and crows.

How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first?

jiwon speaks with ease, he’s fluent in the language of flattery and charm. he hates to put too much thought it what he says, and can end up mumbling a lot if he’s distracted. 

What makes their stomach turn?

the idea that one day he’ll have to start wearing suits and talking to shareholders and live a normal, boring working life. oh, and rollercoasters and oysters. 

Are they easily embarrassed?

the only thing that might embarass him to any degree is being reprimanded in public. he has an image as a good boy gone bad with a heart of gold that’s he’s cultivated in the years he’s been on social media. so interrupting that with a lecture about responsibility in public ? no thanks.

If they were asked to explain the difference between romantic and platonic or familial love, how would they do so?

jiwon doesn’t think about this much, but he doesn’t make a big difference between platonic and familial love. his best friends are family, and his sister is his best, best friend. he figures that romantic love and sexual attraction are correlated (which of course isn’t really true but). aka, if you wouldn’t mind banging them, you’re probably in romantic love.  

Why do they get up in the morning?

to upload a good morning ‘woke up like this’ selfie, duh. nah but on a more serious note — because each day is a day that he’s gonna have fun, right ? wrong.

How does jealousy manifest itself in them (they become possessive, they become aloof, etc)?

jealous jiwon is … messy. the last time jiwon got jealous was about his girlfriend in high school, and he made it a point to act extremely romantic and charming whenever rivals for her affection were around. that, and he was remarkably cruel with anyone he considered so. if he was ignored, he’d get mopey. 

How does envy manifest itself in them (they take what they want, they become resentful, etc)?

jiwon doesn’t feel envy one goddamn bit. life is so good, other people envy him. be a better bitch not a bitter bitch, is his motto. of course, it’s easier to be better when you’re the one with a hundred million wons to your name. 

Is sex something that they’re comfortable speaking about? To whom?

again, liberal family. jiwon has no trouble talking about sex. with his friend vicki from school, with hyeonjin (although he’d rather not hear), with anyone but family (for obvious reasons). he gets annoyed about the conservatism of society on the topic, especially among the elder generation. 

What are their thoughts on marriage?

marriage is — okay. he still feels way too young to be even thinking about marrying, but he’s not averse to the idea. 

What is their preferred mode of transportation?

jiwon’s very glad you asked. in the spring of his 19th year, god aka his father got him a ducati panigale bike to celebrate his graduation. that baby is his goddamn pride and joy, and he zooms everywhere he can on it. the only problem is that it’s constantly on and off — every time his mother hears of a new motorcycle accident she forbids its use. 

What causes them to feel dread?

the future in general. realising that he’s going to have to buckle down after college. also, i don’t know about you, but have you noticed that hyeonjin’s acting really weird lately ? like, he barely talks on the phone anymore, looks exhausted, goes out to strange places at night. weird. hope he’s okay. 

Would they prefer a lie over an unpleasant truth?

jiwon doesn’t like being lied to, period. hypocrite that he is, he has no trouble telling white lies to cover his ass. but, telling a lie to cover something unpleasant — he’d rather not. it’s him who’s going to deal with consequences if the truth comes out.  

Do they usually live up to their own ideals?

well, his ideal, so to speak, would be a legendary actor/musician with millions of adoring fans around the world. so no, he hasn’t really gotten to that point yet but he’s getting there, chill. 

Who do they most regret meeting? 

well, nobody. #noregrets. actually no there was this one bitch in 9th grade who used to keep calling him oppa even when he told her to quit —

Who are they the most glad to have met?

hyeonjin. best friends since they were like seven. haven’t ever had a major argument. plenty of minor ones, but what do you do. vicki, a closeted lesbian pal for whom jiwon was a beard for a couple of months. she’s amazing. 

Do they have a go-to story in conversation? Or a joke? 

at least six hundred. there was the time that he crashed his bike at his country club. another time that he almost died while on a glass bridge in the mountains in china. oh, how about that time that he was almost scouted for uh…. adult movies ? not exactly the talent range he was intending to go for.  

Could they be considered lazy?

if jiwon doesn’t want to do something, he won’t. and that’s the tea. he’ll get it done through a third party, or just let it die until he finishes it in a 2 am red bull panic. 

How hard is it for them to shake a sense of guilt?

obviously depends on the severity of the event, but in general — jiwon’s pretty good at moving on from things. he’s especially good at changing subject and throwing himself into something new, forgetting the past entirely. 

How do they treat the things their friends come to them excited about? Are they supportive?

ehhhhh a catch here. if you’re close to him, yes, he will try to be excited for you. but you can’t really force him to be excited about anything. if you start talking about how absolutely mindblowing axolotls are, he’ll nod and zone out. 

Do they actively seek romance, or do they wait for it to fall into their lap?

seek out. life’s too short for anything else. 

Do they have a system for remembering names, long lists of numbers, things that need to go in a certain order (like anagrams, putting things to melodies, etc)?

my man makes little jingles about everything. it’s honestly pretty annoying at this point. his magnum opus would have to be the english conjugation table rap. it was popular at his old school for months.

What memory do they revisit the most often?

memories are kind of fuzzy with him, he doesn’t remember the details of places as much as he does the feeling of them. some select memories are of dance nights at ketterbridge ( his english boarding school ) and holidays in jeju, kyoto, bangkok and hawaii. what can i say, he’s a big fan of beaches. 

How easy is it for them to ignore flaws in other people?

fairly easy. unless he’s being especially catty, which he certainly can be, people’s flaws don’t matter to him. he’ll make up for them. and if they share flaws ? too bad. the world will have to deal. 

How sensitive are they to their own flaws?

not much, no. i’d say his biggest flaw is detachment from reality and his sheltered lifestyle. he doesn’t know how to do anything on his own. if he was abandoned somewhere (not even like a deserted island, i’m talking apartment in seoul) he’d die. but because it’s unlikely he’ll ever have to be alone ( devil emoji at least that’s what he thinks ) he doesn’t really care about his own flaws.

How do they feel about children?

on surface level, jiwon looks amazing with kids. they’re funny, he’s funny, they’re reckless and silly, he’s reckless and silly. but jiwon would be an awful, awful father, and he knows it. handling a kid is too much work, he doesn’t like hanging with them, because it’s like hanging with slightly less capable clones. 

How badly do they want to reach their end goal?

here’s the thing. his end goal is to become a legendary actor/musician. the path he chooses to follow to get there is still really unclear in his head — he has an impression that it’ll just happen. 

If someone asked them to explain their sexuality, how would they do so?

jiwon would just say he likes cute girls, and because all girls are cute, he likes all girls. i envision him as bisexual with a ginormous preference for women. he definitely express attraction to men, but brushes it off as bro stuff. basically, when hyeonjin confesses to him later in the plot, he’s going to be pretty confused emoji. like … he’s straight … but he would maybe date hyeonjin ? he doesn’t mind the idea ? what

A) Why are you excited about this character?

he’s a dumbass !!! also his attitude makes him so much fun to write. constant quips and jokes and not taking anything seriously. also, karma is gonna get him very soon for that sheltered, pampered life he’s been living :) 

B) What inspired you to create them?

uhhh nothing tbh ? i needed a lighthearted foil in hyeonjin’s story, that’s really it, and he evolved over time to be this monstrosity. 

C) Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story?

not for the first little arc. but after that, absolutely idk what’s gonna happen to my son.

D) Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look?

actually, jiwon was supposed to be relegated to the position of minor character in hyeonjin’s story, and was never part of the eight mcs of this particular idea. later, after i dropped one of the characters because she was getting a bit controversial, i plopped him in. so his physical appearance was only properly defined once he became an mc. and it hasn’t changed since. 

E) Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you?

i’d be filled with immense intrigue and admiration and also deep hatred. like he’s a goddamn idiot but i know i’d love his silly sense of humour and his attitude.

Give us a summary of their backstory. grew up in a small town in arizona, her mom was a doctor and her dad was a mechanic and she learned a lot of things from them, but actually became a doctor in her late teens. she realized she was gay when she was pretty young, like 12, and then panicked and got engaged to the first man she knew. they were going to get married when she was 26. she didn’t want to do that and told her fiance she was gay and he was like, “oh worm cool. i’ll help you get out of here” and he helped her escape the town. also they were homophobic (i had some fears about my own parents being homophobic when i created eli) so. yeah. then she became a courier! the end.

Do they have any nicknames and how did they get em? her full name was Originally: genevieve elizabeth fredrickson-carter, then i changed to to Rosalina Elizabeth Fredrickson-Cruz because she’s Mexican. i asked my friend (who is also mexican) what a cool name was and she said rosalina, and i chose cruz because that’s my friend’s mom’s first name. yeah!

Personal

3) Romantic/Sexual Orientation? Pan, but leans heavily towards men.

5) Race? White.

6) What do they look like? She’s a bit curvy, all muscle, with long red-brown hair and very dark eyes. Her defining feature would probably be her nose, which has been broken like three times and is permanently crooked.

7) Any disabilities? No.

8) Is there a meaning to their name? Arden means Valley of the Eagle. Her mother chose the name because of a huge valley nearby her home village.

9) What makes them, them? You could say that the most unique thing about her is her ability to communicate with dragons. But so many things make her who she is. She’s short tempered and funny and can charm her way into getting practically anything from a marketplace for free. She loves combat and truly loves learning at the academy, even if she doesn’t think she’s very good at it.

10) What do they want to be when they grow up/what do they want to do with their lives? She literally has no clue. Her plan had always been to stay in her little village, take care of her sister, marry someone and manage her father’s farm. But since moving to the town near the Academy she feels like she might want something different.

Family

Her mother was executed when Arden was very young for her ability to speak to dragons, an ability that Arden inherited from her. After her mother’s death Arden took a parenting role over her father because he has struggled for years with the loss of his wife.

12) Do they have siblings? How do they interact with them? If not, do they wish they had siblings? Arden has one sister, Clara, who is six years younger. Arden has taken care of her since the loss of their mother, as her father had fallen apart and wasn’t in a position to care for anyone. Arden still sees Clara as more of her child than her sister.

13) Extended family? Do they see them often? She doesn’t know any of her extended family, but her father said that he had two brothers.

14) Do they like where they live? (Is it a safe place?) She lives in a small village in Erelia. It’s a farming community with only about 14 houses and then forest for miles around them. It is safe, if not a bit boring. She grew up there and doesn’t know anything different.

15) Where do they live? Are they wealthy? Poor? Middle-Class? She’s a commoner, and quite poor. Arden haggles for most things that her family needs, often trading labor or food from her family’s field for anything they might need.

17) Do they have pets? Her sister collects chickens, and they raise a few pigs every year, but Arden doesn’t really consider her farm animals to be pets. There is a small dragon that hangs around her village that she would call a pet, but she considers him more of a friend.

18) Who do they look up to the most/are the closest to in their family? She’s not really close to anyone in her family. She sees her father and sister of people that she has to take care of, people that can’t ever see her weak, and that creates a bit of distance between them.

20) Do they wish they lived in a different family/household? She would never outright wish for something different, especially since she doesn’t know any other way to live. But sometimes she longs for the way it was when her mother was alive, or for a life where she didn’t have to work so hard.

21) Best Friend(s)? Connor. By far. He’s the barkeep at the inn where she gets a job during her schooling at the Academy and they become close very quickly.

22) Who was their first friend? She honestly can’t remember, but she used to be friends with a lot of the kids from her village.

23) What is their friend group like? Really, she doesn’t have many friends. She has people that she is friendly to, but Connor and Darius are the only people she truly considers friends. Darius is the local blacksmith and her mentor back home in her village.

24) Do they have a love/hate relationship with any of them? No.

25) Do they consider any of their friends to be like siblings? Yes. Connor decided that he was her older brother almost as soon as he met her, and Arden certainly wasn’t going to argue with him.

26) Have they ever hurt a friend or lost one? She lost most of her friends when her mother died. She was angry and lashed out at everyone, including her friends. Those that stayed drifted away when Arden started to care for her family because she didn’t have time for them anymore.

29) Whom do they go to the most when they need a shoulder to cry on? It used to be Darius, her mentor and the local blacksmith in her village. He wasn’t great at advice or dealing with tears, but her let her fight through it, literally, and did combat training drills with her. More recently though, it’s, you guessed it. Connor.

30) What would this person do without their friends in their lives? She would isolate herself, throwing herself into whatever work she needed to do, insisting that she didn’t need any friends until someone managed to worm their way into her inner circle once again.

School

31) What grade are they in? If they aren’t in school, how come? Things aren’t really assigned by grade but by age. She goes to classes with other seventeen year olds.

32) Do/Did they like their teachers? Was there a good one? Bad one? Some of her teachers are rude because of her status, but not allowed to blatantly call her out so she’ll often ignore it. Her favorite teachers though, are the combat teacher and the librarian.

33) Do/Did they listen to their teachers or are/where they goofing off a lot? She listens to her teachers and absorbs as much information as possible. She came to the academy several years after most of the other students though, and often struggles to keep up.

34) Are/Where they a good student grade wise? She gets average grades. Not low enough to get kicked out, but not high enough to be any sort of an exemplary student.

35) Do/Did they need extra help? Yes. But she won’t ask for it because she doesn’t want to be seen as weak.

36) What is/was their school like? It’s a military academy, with a big focus on dragon training as they are so plentiful in the kingdom of Erelia.

37) Do/Did they have bullies in school? She is constantly bullied in school. Being the only commoner in a school full of nobles kind of puts a target on her back.

39) Have they ever done something stupid/embarrassing at school? She has done things that would probably would be considered embarrassing, but is incredibly hard to embarrass and typically laughs it off with no issue.

40) How far do they plan to go with school? If they dropped out, do they want to go back? She’s planning to graduate from her kingdom’s academy, if possible. They focus on training dragons for military purposes, but she has heard that some commoners managed to make a business of breeding dragons or training them for farmwork and thats what she would like to do.

41) Are they dating anyone? Do they want to date? Are the married? Divorced? She has no intention of dating anyone. Her life plan is probably to find a decent guy with a job and marry him like most of the other girls from her village, but she has never seen love as an option.

42) What is their favorite hobby? Do they keep it a secret? Her favorite hobby is honestly combat training. She loves the adrenaline and being able to really use her body instead of sitting around like you have to with a few other hobbies. It’s definitely not a secret.

43) If they could have one thing in life, what would it be? Probably the ability to be who she is legally. Hiding her ‘gift’ is a huge challenge and if she slips up, even once, she could be executed for it. She is painfully aware of that threat seeing as her mother met that fate when Arden was nine.

44) Do they work? If so, what is it? If not, are they looking for one or even want one? She works as a server at the Dragon’s Breath, which is an inn nearby the Academy. When she isn’t in school she manages her family and works with a local blacksmith full time.

46) Have they ever been to a medic? Yes. There have been a few incidents that required her to be taken to a medic, not including a few more that she probably should have gone, but refused, insisting that she was fine.

47) Do they believe in the supernatural, that there is more than the eye can see? She doesn’t discount the idea, but doesn’t actively believe either. She’s sort of a see-and-believe person, and she hasn’t seen proof that the supernatural does exist or that it doesn’t.

48) What do they do when they get angry, stressed, or upset? If she’s stressed she gets angry. If she’s angry she holds it in for about 20 minutes and then explodes. When she’s upset, she usually just tries to stay away from everyone and will often cry, something that she is ashamed of.

49) Would they consider themselves as a good person, bad person, or morally grey? She considers herself morally grey. She’s grown up knowing that a big part of who she is is already illegal on punishment of death, and managed to absorb that into who she is.

SECRETS MASTERLIST

i think we’re all tired of having our characters have the same dirty little secrets. so here are some realistic secrets you can use for your characters. i am putting an overall trigger and mature warning on this. they’re in the sections of: lighthearted, hardcore, family, involving others, criminal, embarrassing, sexual, romantic, and other..

scared your secret isn’t creative - change it up! it mentions drugs? change it to sex or alcohol. something mentions family? turn that into a romantic secret! the options are endless if you change details.

lighthearted: these secrets aren’t very harmful, but they���re still secrets. they’re for characters you can’t exactly imagine being bad human beings on the side.

hardcore: these are very hardcore secrets. these are your dirty, life ruining secrets. these could be the ones to get someone accost from their friend group and family.

family: these are family secrets, etc. these are the things nobody outside of the home is supposed to see. 

involving others: these are secrets you could request a character for or get another character involved with the secret. these are any group secrets, etc. THIS HAS SUBSECTIONS OF ROMANTIC & PLATONIC.

criminal: these are for those types that love to do illegal things. there definitely are illegal things in the hardcore and maybe some other sections, but this is where the real root of illegal activity is.

embarrassing: these are for the personal dirty little secrets. these are mostly harmless, but embarrassing. this is more for those who still have silly little habits rather than life ruining secrets.

sexual: this is anything involving sex, sexuality, kinks, and everything in between. this is definitely by far the most nsfw.

nobody talks about my relative that is special needs. we pretend they don’t exist.

i found photos of my parent(s)/sibling having sex and put them on the dinner table during Christmas for everyone to see.

i almost let my younger sibling get killed by setting them on a ledge of our balcony. i caught them moments before they fell. 

my parents had me drop off my sibling at a fire station. i’ve never heard from them again. i barely remember them.

my parent is a serial killer. i know. i haven’t told anyone.
