Hi, I hope this isn't a bother. I'm trying to make a dating sim and want to have a section where the player inputs their pronouns (like you gave the option to in Dial Town). Despite my hours of effort though, I can't figure out how to do it. I'm using Visual Novel Machinery for Unreal Engine (because Unreal is required for the class I'm making this for). Even if you aren't familiar with it though, just the basic 'pull code from here and input there' would be so helpful. I'm sure I can piece it together in a way Unreal will understand with a bit of help. Legit though, I made unreal crash twice when I tried to run the initial code for it, so I'm at a loss. Side note: Your games are so awesome and a big part of why I want to make a dating sim to begin with. I wish you all the peace and love on planet earth!

Hello hello:

The trick is using a string for every instance of a pronoun in player dialogue (which is just a variable set of letters.) They, them, their, theirs, etc. Be careful when you set the system up as some pronouns don't conjugate for all cases. For instance, their and theirs are separate words, as are her/hers, but his uses the same word for both pronouns.

You also have to account for case too. This is how I set it up (this is all done right when the pronoun is first entered btw):

1)let the user input a pronoun for each option. each pronoun is a different string, one for each pronoun type (you'll see my list below)

2)i then use a script command right after that to turn all of the pronoun strings entered to lower case. This is account for players possibly capitalizing the first letter in the pronoun instinctively. IE: characters won't say: "Hey, where's He going?" instead of "he going?", which is correct.

How you convert to lowercase is different for each programming language, but I bet there's an equivalent command in UE.

3)Then I copy each pronoun twice, essentially creating two duplicates for each lower case pronoun (so there's now 3 identical pronouns for her, three for hers, etc.)

4)For the second set, I run a command that capitalizes the first and only first letter of each separately (this is useful for if a sentence starts with a pronoun, meaning the first letter would be upper case in that sentence. EG: His cowboy hat looks RIDICULOUS.)

5)for the third set, i then turn the whole string upper case. this is useful for if a character speaks in all caps or if the character is shouting/emphasizing. (EG: "Where's HE going?!")

At the end, this is what my list of strings looks like, hopefully helping you visualize what I've done:

Then, when a pronoun is referenced in dialogue, I use the string that matches the correct version of the pronoun I need. So for he, i use #6 normally, #12 if it's the start of a sentence and #18 if the character is shouting. it's good to keep a list like this handy so you don't have to go looking every time you write dialogue.

The big other thing to watch out for is how plural pronouns affect verbs. He and she IS, but they ARE. I have the player tell the game whether or not their pronoun of choice is plural after they're entered it in and then simply load two separate versions of each sentence with one set for ises and one for ares.

You can also make some more blank name variables to use for verbs and have the game check if the pronoun's plural and then reference a string like with the pronouns (ie, having a string for is that changes to are if plural and using that in dialogue.) Both solutions generally work and I use both for different situations in dialogue.

Beyond that, I can't really give any engine specific advice, but this is how I do it. Best of luck with your game! :)

Some Typographic Vocabulary

A limited terminology exists to describe the many kinds of typeface and typesetting in regular use. Among the important terms are the following:

Ascender - A part of a letter which extends above the height of the letter x, as in d and h. It contrasts with a descender, a part of a letter which extends below the foot of the letter x, as in y or p.

Bold - A type with very thick strokes, as seen in boldface.

Fount - The set of characters of the one size of the same typeface, including capitals, lower-case, punctuation marks, and numerals; also spelled font.

Italic - Characters that slope to the right, as in italic.

Justification - The arrangement of lines of text so that there are even margins. Left-justified setting is standard practice. In right-justified setting, the last character of each line is made to reach the right-hand margin at the same point (by adjusting the spaces between the letters and words). Unjustified setting has a ‘ragged edge’ right-hand margin (as in this column).

Kern - The part of a letter which overhangs the body of the type, as in the top part of f.

Leading - /ˈledIƞ/ The spacing between lines of type. The term derives from the former printing practice of separating lines of metal type by inserting strips of lead between them.

Ligature - Two or more letters joined together as a single character, as in æ and ff.

Lower-case - Small letters, as opposed to any kind of capital letters (upper-case). (The ‘cases’ were originally two containers placed one above the other in a printing house: the type for capital letters came from the higher container; the small letters from the lower.) Upper-case letters are divided into large capitals and small capitals (B vs b). Small capitals are similar in weight and height to a lowercase x. Large capitals are the height of an ascender.

Serif - A small terminal stroke at the end of the main stroke of a letter. A serif typeface is used in the main text on the facing page. A typeface with no serifs is called sans serif.

Sort - A single character of type. A special sort is one which the typesetter does not have routinely available in a fount, and which must be formed specially, such as a phonetic character.

Superscript - A small letter or figure set beside and above the top of a full-size character, as in x2; also called a superior. It contrasts with subscript, a small letter or figure set beside and below the foot of a full-size character, as in 3n; also called an inferior.

X height - The height of the printing surface of a small letter x.

These features would all form part of a graphetic analysis of printed language.

Hanfu in Components: Structure Conventions (pt2)

Thanks for the love on the last post, I’ve been motivated to continue writing LOL Anyway: Construction/sewing pattern/structure is very important to hanfu!

There are a few important structure conventions when it comes to hanfu—almost all traditional-cut hanfu follow these rules; you could call them the defining characteristics of hanfu. There are exceptions to every rule of course (I will go over some caveats at the end of this post), but generally if a hanfu design ignores these rules we might consider it to be ‘incorrect.'

(There will be a longer follow-up pt. 3 post to this explaining the anatomy of a hanfu top/robe, where there will be more detailed in-context illustrations and descriptions. I just figured I should list these ‘rules’ somewhere separately.)

中縫/中缝/zhong1 feng4/Center Seam

Take a look at your shirts. Is there a shoulder seam between the front of the shirt and the back of the shirt? Western clothing tends to consist of a front piece + back piece sewn together to create a space for your body to sit in：

Hanfu doesn’t work like that. Traditionally, the garment isn’t separated into a front piece and back piece: it’s separated into a right piece and left piece, which are joined together at the vertical center seam. Why? Traditional fabric has a narrower width than the standard ~145cm that we have today, so a long, narrow piece is less wasteful to cut out from a bolt of silk than a wide one.

Therefore there is always a center seam, one running vertically down the front and one down the back. 中 = center, 縫 = seam, so 中縫 means center seam. There’ll be a front center seam （前中縫） and a back center seam （後中縫）.

不破肩/不破肩/bu2 po4 jian1/No Broken Shoulder

Kind of an addendum onto the previous point? Additionally since the body pieces are separated into left/right rather front/back, there’s no seam at the top of the shoulder here. The fabric is simply draped over the arm/shoulder to hang down, covering the torso on both sides.*

*Caveat: Some modified hanfu that vendors sell today will have a shoulder seam, especially thicker winter garments or short-sleeved garments. This is a design choice made to prevent the fabric from looking too stiff, known as 破肩/破肩/po4 jian1，literally “broken shoulder.” It can look great, lots of hanfu makers do it! But just to be clear, that is a MODIFICATION.

接袖/接袖/jie1 xiu4/Sleeve Connection

Western clothing patterns tend to have something where the fabric of the sleeve gets connected to the fabric of the garment’s body at the shoulder/armpit, often with a concave arm hole shape to help with the contours of the garment when it’s worn.

Hanfu sleeves, on the other hand, are never connected at the armpit—they are connected halfway down the arm. In other words, the piece of fabric that forms the body extends to also cover the upper arm part of the sleeve. The actual sleeve piece is connected to the body at the bicep/elbow area via a flat seam. (In the case of half- or no- sleeve garments there might just not be a separate sleeve piece.)

右衽/右衽/you4 ren4/"Right Over Left" Rule

Applies to cross-collar, some varieties of round collar, and some varieties of standing collar tops. In the case that the front of the garment crosses over itself, the flap coming from the wearer’s left goes OVER the flap coming from the wearer’s right. Easiest way to make sense of this is, if you’re looking at someone wearing a cross-collar hanfu top, the cross will look like a lowercase y.

Caveats

NO RULE EXISTS WITHOUT EXCEPTION!!! These rules exist because a majority of hanfu follow them and they are a standard that people agree on right now. However, there are ALWAYS cases—historically or otherwise—where these rules may be broken. For example, there are several Ming Dynasty cross collar robes that happen to be left over right, and the location of the sleeve seam can differ based on what garment you're looking at.

Also, many modern hanfu manufacturers will deliberately choose to break these 'rules' in favor of aesthetics. This is a purposeful design choice—not one that's done out of ignorance or disrespect. It's easy for common modifications to get mistaken for 'historically accurate.' To be clear, it is 100% okay and super common for modifications to exist! Just don't go around claiming that it was historically that way.

My advice is that if you're starting out with hanfu, try to stick to these rules in the back of your head as closely as possible. Once you've built your foundational knowledge, then you can start exploring the exceptions to the rules. These rules may not be foolproof, but they are a useful tool to help you understand the commonalities and trends within hanfu without overwhelming you.

Last note: it is generally more of a taboo for seams that should exist to not exist in a piece of clothing (i.e. no center back seam) than for extra seams to exist. If you go look in museums for the artifacts that hanfu is based off of, you'll notice that a lot of them—especially the ones from earlier dynasties—are a chaotic patchwork of a bunch of random piece of fabric sewn together to create the garment. Fabric is expensive, people don't want to waste it! So it's not all that weird to have seams in random places.

More handwriting headcanons, but this time it’s for various Papyruses!

Obviously there are more Papyruses that exist, these are just the main ones that came to mind first :P

Font names and reasoning under the cut:

Papyrus: Papyrus (because…. c’mon. we all know why)

Stretch: bRee (he gets lowercase letters because he’s a sleepy guy, and the only reason the Ts look a little sharp is because he was probably thinking about Smart Guy Shit again)

Edge: COLORS OF AUTUMN (upper case letters because loud, and sharp like his personality)

Crooks: kindergarden (his letters are big but not all caps because he’s lost some of the spark that would’ve otherwise made him more like OG Paps, and his handwriting is a little wibbly wobbly because head trauma impairs your motor skills sometimes, making it hard to keep your hand movements, or even just regular movements, smooth and steady)

Mutt: alanis hand (he gets lower case and small because he’s another sleepy guy with no confidence)

Charm (UL Paps): Bigdey Demo (dude gets fancy halfway cursive handwriting because he’s a fancy boy. being fancy and stylish is his whole thing, and he adds little hearts in sometimes if he’s in a particularly good mood)

Jupiter (OT Paps): PIGMENTDEMO (personality wise, I just feel like he’d be very similar to OG Paps, and they probably have a lot of the same habits and things, which could easily carry over into their writing. Their handwriting is similar, but still visually different at the end of the day)

Tango (DT Paps): Rock Salt (big letters and all caps here because he’s a louder, more outgoing guy, and even if he’s not super confident 24/7, that’s still the image that he likes to display to others, so they get the impression that he’s the most confident man on the planet. His handwriting is also a bit fancy in its own way, which kinda reflects his whole thing with dancing)

Phantom (DT Paps): Coffee House (ominous looking, sharp, and all caps, because he is literally the creepy dude who tells Dust to maim people and be homicidal. Sometimes he uses lower case, but when he’s especially worked up about something, he goes back to his all caps ways)

Cider (FT Paps): A Hundred Miles (his letters aren’t the biggest, but he still uses all caps. It’s nice looking, if a little on the messy side sometimes because he does so much with his hands on the farm, and they’re probably sore by the time he finishes)

Grim (RT Paps): Silent Reaction (all caps cursive is a nightmare to look at, and he’s been around long enough that he’s painfully aware of that, so he’s brought it down a few notches and uses proper capitalization. He’s had centuries to make his handwriting nice and neat, and while he does like making it look nice, he’s often more concerned about getting all of his work done. Little bonus is that he unintentionally makes the dot above the i look kinda like a candle flame)

“if there's something bothering you, tell me.” he answered.

you put down the fork you were holding in your hand, just like hyunjae did a few moments ago. after taking a breath, you opened your mouth.

a sign of confusion was visible on your boyfriend's face for a moment, then that concern turned into a smirk.

“oh, this?” he looked down at his own upper body, seemingly satisfied to have this effect on you. “i bought this a few days ago. why?”

a few seconds passed in silence before hyunjae’s grin grew bigger. he clasped his hands together in front of his chest, making his breasts stretch even more through the clothing as he leaned forward. you wanted to groan at the sight.

“honestly? i'm sorry i didn't tell you, i never thought you'd get this upset over it. i just wanted to surprise you but apparently, it didn't go as i planned.” he sounded regretful, but his smug smile said otherwise. “how can i make it up to you?”

hearing the question, you stood up and reached for him. grabbing him both sides of his neck, you bent down to kiss hyunjae passionately. you almost knocked down the glasses of the table with how heated you were.

you pulled yourself back and rushed to him to reach him without any obstacles. your boyfriend stared at you with an intense look, making you feel dizzy for a moment.

“i think begging for my forgiveness is the least you can do.” you started as you sat on his lap. “never wear something like this to work ever again. i don't want anyone to see your body like this, do you hear me?” you moved your head towards his neck. after pulling away the collar of the top, you started placing kisses on his skin.

the kisses turned into gentle bites. you heard hyunjae sucking his breath in as he trembled under you. it felt too good to think about anything at all.

pulling away from him, you looked right at his chest. seeing it closer made you even more worked up. even though you've seen him shirtless a few times before, the sight of him wearing tight tops was something you never got used to.

“do you want me to take it off?” he asked, sounding whiny and impatient. you loved when he was at a state like this, feeling desperate for your touch and attention.

“not yet.” you gave him a mischievous smile as you watch his eyebrow rising up. he groaned, clearly dissatisfied with your answer, but he quickly closed his mouth shut when you licked one of his breasts through the fabric.

it was unbelievably hot for your boyfriend to see you act like this. “fuck, i need more.” he demanded, voice all hoarse and breathy.

you couldn't reject him even if you wanted to, so you placed your tongue on the other side and started working on his chest, trying to get every sound out of your boyfriend.

when you felt like he needed something more, you started with light bites on his chest. hyunjae let out a broken sob, placing his hands on your shoulder and giving them a nice grip.

he thought he would go crazy if he didn't get rid of his clothes, so he pushed you away and held you down by your waist while gazing at you hungrily. he looked wrecked. face flushed, neck full of slightly visible bite marks and his long-sleeve with wet spots on his breasts. he never looked better in your eyes.

he quickly took off his top, letting him half-naked in front of you. the tattoos in his collarbone, arm and chest made him look mesmerizing.

“please.” he mouthed at your mouth right before locking your lips together. still sitting on his lap, you felt him growing harder under you.

“please what?” you asked knowing damn well what he wanted. still, you wanted to tease him for everything he had done to you today.

"please touch me.” he begged, eyeing you while saying it.

that did the trick. you took no time diving your head into his chest again, placing both your hands on it while sucking it everywhere you could.

“god, why are you so attractive, lee jaehyun? everything about you is perfect, but this right here” — you sucked on his right breast before continuing it — “is the most perfect thing i've ever seen and tasted.”

hyunjae felt lustful, desire pining up in his stomach as he let you devour him. he never thought anyone would worship his chest, but you were there, doing it like it was the most simple thing in the world.

he reached for your face with both of his hands, pulling it away from your chest. scanning your face, he thought he might go crazy by the way you looked. “i love you.” he whispered, then leaned forward to give you a kiss.

you smiled into the kiss, feeling fuzzy inside. it always felt amazing when he said it. it was passionate, honest and a little bit desperate because of the current state he was in. you got him worked up with your actions.

“i love you too.” you confessed, putting your arms around his neck and deepening the kiss.

after minutes that felt like forever, you both pulled away, breathing heavily.

“now i know why you said you have to wait until dessert.” hyunjae chuckled.

your face got red after he said that. “i wasn't thinking when i said that.” you admitted, feeling shy after all this.

your boyfriend gave you a grin.

“i cannot believe you thought i wouldn't notice your obsession with my chest. it was obvious ever since we started dating.”

you hit his chest once, but not strong enough for him to hurt.

“so you did it on purpose!”

he feigned pain before he started explaining himself.

“yes, i did, but let me tell you something.” he stated, leaning closer to your ear. “no one at work saw me like that. i was wearing my coat and that pretty much covered everything. so you got jealous for nothing, dear.”

with the smug smile on his face and the fact you got possessive over him for something that didn't even happen, you felt your face heating up.

embarrassment taking over, you hit his chest again, this time with greater force. he groaned in pain.

“you're an asshole, did you know that?” you asked, but not being actually angry, rather embarrassed.

“i'm sorry. i'll make it up to you. how does that sound, sweetheart?”

it sounded like a promise and you couldn't be more excited for him to keep that.

"i like that. let's go to our room.” you insisted, climbing down from your boyfriend and dragging him to the bedroom. he giggled, not being able to resist your charm — he would never want to do that anyways.

the door closed after the two of you, dinner long forgotten.

– seriously, he can barely take care of himself. he barely graduated! and he can't even live alone because of his stupid brother. things aren't the best right now for him.

– of course, you're not the one at fault here. you didn't want your parents dead, right? besides, you had never been particularly too close with your older brother. maybe it's the big age gap or maybe it's his unbearable personality. or the combination of both.

– if he were a bit kinder to you, everything would be just fine. he never touches you and rarely talks to you. there are times you don't see him for days. you find yourself missing your father's warm embrace and loving words.

– still, you try so hard to get his attention. you ask him about his day everytime he arrives home. for your efforts, you get a short 'boring' from noah and moments later he's off to his room.

– you know it's hard for him. being an adult must be hard... especially in his case. you appreciate everything he does for you, from working to cooking dinner. you always say "thank you, big brother!" with a wide smile on your face, hugging his waist. you're a well-mannered boy, after all. he usually groans and pats your head awkwardly, muttering a quiet "whatever."

you decide he's not good with words or touch or... well, you decide to draw your affection for him! you work on the drawing for an hour, wanting it to be absolutely perfect. your final product on the paper is quite good! the sun is shining on the left upper corner, the grass is a pretty green and the clouds are blue. in the middle, there are two people: a short and a tall one. the short one is you, wearing a blue t-shirt and green shorts. you're holding the hand of the taller figure, who is noah! he's wearing a red tee (you found out red is his favorite colour!) with grey pants. a happy smile is plastered on both of the boys' faces.

you grab the paper satisfied, ready to give it to your brother. you sprint to his room, knocking loudly. a muffled "come in" can be heard, so you hurriedly open the door. you stand in front of him, hiding the paper behind your back. "big brother, i have a surprise for you!" you announce, almost bouncing from exhilaration. he looks up from his phone and waits for you to continue. you reveal the paper and place it on his bed. he looks down confused and lifts up the paper. hes looking at it, scrutinizing it and... his lips curve into a faint smile. "why did you make this?" you can tell by his tone that he's a bit flattered. "i thought you'd like it... thank you for everything you do for me!" you smile at him innocently, really hoping this will change something in him.

– ever since that day, something truly had changed. whenever you ask him about his day, he says more than one word and he even asks you the same question! when you hug him, he runs his hand through your hair. you always lean happily into his touch and smile, which makes him smile.

– recently, you started hanging out in his room. usually, he's showing you photos he took. you learnt hes working as a photographer, which is pretty cool in your opinion.

– sometimes, he gestures for you to go closer to him. he wraps his arms around you and rubs your back slowly. "little brother, y'know it's just us, right? im sorry for being distant. it's... hard. but thank you for being understanding and patient. i appreciate it." you nod and hug him back.

– in the end, all that matters is that you are always there for each other. maybe the harsh reality of the everydays can lose their sharpness a little in each other's arms.

[got done with the designs for sans and papyrus' parents; my interpretation of dr w.d. gaster and oc, mistral. They are married, and have been for many many years]

[they knew each other from before the core existed, currently considering whether before the barrier or not, up to change honestly. they met thru mistral saving dings' life]

[mistral uses she/her, and is part of the royal guard, and well known for her dedication to the job. shes also a royal judge, someone who takes on impartial mediation roles in crime cases across the underground. it doesnt happen often that shes called upon, as theres more physical threats to take care of more than petty thievery ect. shes very proficient in battle, and has a strong mastery over magic. fiercely loyal and protective.]

[wingdings uses he/him, and is the royal scientist, known for his engineering. after monsters were sealed underground, he reinvented many quality of life things along with creating the core, the source of power for all the underground. (anyone read city of embers?) dings prefers to remain non-combative, and often is the go-to person for logical third options when one cant decide between fight or flight. talkative and unconventional.]

[wingdings talks and types in wingdings, and uses sign language to communicate with other monsters. he writes in generic fonts. he speaks with lowercase, but writes in uppercase.]

Also also, after staring at Leander's fatal flaw for 40 days and 40 nights I've come to the conclusion that

1: the letters are lower case on purpose and

2: it POSSIBLY has the lowercase letters "d" "b" "[L] l" "h" or even upper case "I [i]".

My theory is that Leander's fatal flaw has something to do with extreme attachment/abandonment issues.... and his monster might be a manifestation of his Insecurities about not matching up to the other LIs.

Honestly, everything about Leander points out to attachment/abandonment issues... He knows so many people but isn't actually close to anyone, not even to Kuras who has saved his life. He doesn't let anyone get close, or maybe he is simply not able to. Is there a single person who actually knows who and what he is? One of the qualities that drawn me into this game was the theme of being a monster, and the unique loneliness it brings. Let's be honest, each LI is utterly and desperately all alone in the world in their different ways. I think Leander's loneliness is the one that comes with being surrounded by dozens of people, always being the light in the room, having different bodies to warm his bed each night, yet being completely aware that there is not a single soul who knows him, the real him; and if they did, they would never offer him the warmth he is craving for. He is starved in his own way; he is "untouchable" too but in a different way than MC.

As I said in another post, I believe that the fact that he is "special" to MC, that he is the first and only one to know them on such an intimate level that nobody else could sparked or snapped something in him. The first time MC touched him, caressed and studied his skin so intently and with so many undescribable emotions was also a first to him. MC says that they have never touched someone like that before, but I believe that Leander has never been touched in that way before either. Even if he had countless escapades in the past, was there really a time he was touched as if he was a precious jewel, as if he was actually valued and cared for?

One of the few things we can surely say about Leander is that he is greedy (which is hinted as the reason for his future downfall) and he is envious. Even his monster form is illustrated as himself, only with dark eyes - green with envy. I believe that this part of his will create a tension in other LIs' routes (especially with Ais because Leander has a visible, canon inferiority complex when it comes to Ais) & the true monstrosity you will face in Leander's route will be nothing but himself - simply his possessive, vulnerable, ugly side that he is so terrified/ashamed of showing others. This is why Leander is so interesting to me, because he stands for the fact that not all monsters are inhuman. Humans are capable of doing things much worse than an actual monster, after all.

Hello! I'd like to ask how to do image descriptions for tags. I always get confused when I do them. Should I keep the #? Should I do exactly how the person wrote, like no upper case letters? What should I do about emojis and emoticons?

Image Descriptions For Tags, Including Hashtags, Lowercase Letters, Capital Letters, Emojis, and Emoticons

The hashtag is usually not needed unless it is an actual hashtag reference such as to a Twitter hashtag. If you would like, you can separate sentences with periods. If it is a list of individual words, you can write something like ‘Image Description: a series of words separated by hashtags written by user x. The words are as follows: disability, accessibility, accessible.’

When I write #disability #accessibility #accessible it is read as “hashtag disability hashtag accessibility hashtag accessible.” This means that while writing # might be okay for separate words or one sentence, writing it for a whole paragraph can make it difficult to understand. This is why my suggestion is to exclude the hashtag for tags that include sentences rather than a few individual words.

I think excluding the # helps with readability for screen-readers and for those who have other difficulties processing images. Using typical punctuation also helps with preserving tone and pacing. Perhaps using other symbols such as bullet points or commas could help to create natural pauses for screen-readers, depending on what is being conveyed. If you would like, you can include notes such as that you excluded the hashtags or replaced them with periods to increase accessibility.

Similarly, you can add notes about capitalization. Screen-readers will read ‘i love cats’ [lowercase] and ‘I LOVE CATS’ [capitalized] the same way. You can include notes about if everything was written with lowercase letters for style or in all caps for emphasis. Here is an example, perhaps someone has shared a picture of a cat with helpful image description. Someone who thought their tags were cute includes a screen-shot of the tags.

For emoticons, it depends. Some emoticons can be read by a screen-reader, but more complicated ones cannot. It may be more helpful to describe the emoticon and what it is trying to convey.

For a minute I was thinking that he had some kind of minor developmental/intellectual disability (like patrick in that one p2 fic of yours where he has to stay inside all the time but less severe) bc of things like the childish writing and still having stuffed animals (pretty unusual for a male teenager) but that might not be the intention.

Any case I love the story and characters, its great that you got a new ask blog cause its so neat to read all the answers, it makes it seem like they're real people on the other side of the screen who can answer questions not from a script

annie does have a minor developmental disability that he never went to any kind of therapy or social program for and i wanted to find a font that would suit his style. i just happened to find one with the alternating upper- and lowercase that seemed to really fit his personality and the backwards Es came along with it, so i just integrated it into his responses. i'm glad that it read that way!

I wanted to give my opinion as someone who has been reading fanfics for more years than I would be proud of:

I'm not reading tiny font, my eyesight is too bad for that

I don't have a preference for upper/lower case as long as the division in paragraphs is well done because that helps with reading well sentences. When it's all in lowercase it's easy to skip punctuation, I feel

But it also depends on the fic! If it's the length of the bible and/or you consider it your opera magna I'd appreciate proper capitalization both for easier reading and for the attention to details

Whatever the case write however you want, you are taking time off your day gifting us with your creation. Your public is out there and I'm probably in it 💕
