Hey friend! :D I'm doing pretty good! I wish the same for you :3 Oo, my BOIS! I've gotcha covered! (I couldn't tell if you wanted separate headcanons or them together so I did both!)

Itadori- Tickle:

Sometimes he'll tickle himself just to keep Sukuna in check. If the curse within's being particularly annoying he'll give his own armpit a scratch just to hear the faint "AH!" in the back of his head. He's rather proud of this fact until Sukuna realizes he can do the same in return...

Megumi- Tickle:

Cannot-and I mean CANNOT- handle chin tickles. He gets all sorts of snickery and squeaky if you go for that spot. Gojo is particularly mean about it- he'll chat up his students while tickling the hell out of Megumi much to Nobara and Yuji's delight. "And so- what's so funny Gumi? Try to pay attention- I was just thinking- wow you're giggly! What's the joke?- We should work on close combat, etc. etc."

Megumi and Itadori- Tickle:

Both use wake up tickles on each other. Yuji does it when it's the weekend and Megumi's sleeping in but our pink haired dork wants to go out and seize the day. Megumi does it when Yuji's falling asleep during a meeting and they need him awake. This usually results in some sort of tickle fight kakjerjkaejraej

Holy shit I love your Dirk interpretations, it's so true and I could talk about this shit forever. I feel like another part of his character that people seem to forget (along with Roxy for some reason) is that he's from the future in solitude in an apocalyptic wasteland. I just see that part of his character always removed which is disappointing because I feel like that's a pretty big part, especially regarding his themes around technology, his brother's theme of Time, his own isolation, and how he plays in the vastness of the universe and spacetime.

Art I drew related to the subject because I like to respond to asks with art.

But absolutely. I certainly understand where the lack of discussion over his isolation + upbringing comes from, considering a majority of the fanbase that I have seen builds their ideas based on their own version of postcanon. I’m not entirely sure how that would be fixed, but certainly even in the somewhat recent past I would see a lot more content regarding his upbringing both literally and symbolically. I don’t have much to add regarding the things you’ve mentioned, because they just are what they are. Dirk being confined to a singular room left to him by a father figure he never met, in a future where the only other person left on the planet is someone he cannot pursue a relationship of because of himself, with purely 3 robots to keep him companion, one being an exact replica of his own brain who is *also* trapped inside a pair of glasses, is about as literal as it gets to me.

The contrast to me involving the flooded, organic world in comparison to the little speckle of Dirk’s apartment packed with the dude and his technics is not only a representation of his isolation and entrapment within himself, but also of his lack of control. I think his obsession with & themes of control are a direct product in the case of Dirk specifically *of* this kind of upbringing. His themes of technology are also related to his themes around control. So much of his character is actually revolved around this to me like so much. Dirk is so deeply disconnected from humanity in every way and so much of his character + symbolism is based around that.

It doesn’t even have to be about the symbolism or anything though. It’s just pretty *interesting* in the literal sense that he lives in the middle of the ocean in the future. There’s not only a lot to theorise on to do with his young life there, but on how it might affect him in the way he acts for the rest of his life. The latter part is probably what I see mentioned the most by people talking about Dirk regarding this, I’m surprised I don’t see more discussion on the former too though. I really ought to actually talk more about Homestuck stuff on here. I will do it myself.

Roxy & Dirk’s relationship is largely ignored though because there is a narrative a certain demographic spreads that Dirk resented and blamed Roxy for her interest in him, and thus too many people believe that their relationship was or would continue to be an abusive one. Realistically, I believe it’s important to acknowledge that the way Roxy treated Dirk regarding his homosexuality wasn’t right while still acknowledging the obvious amount of respect and admiration Dirk had for Roxy. I mean we have a huge piece of dialogue from their post trickster mode conversations on the quest beds from Dirk purely stating how he feels about Roxy that people completely ignore somehow. I think this usually happens to characters that are women though. I know everyone says it, but it is true. Jane gets the exact same treatment of boiling her down to solely her negative aspects. The things I see completely mischaracterising both of them are horrific.

I mean how much more explicit can it get that their relationship is obviously very important to Dirk? But I digress. I think the best or I should say “most interesting” interpretations of their relationship usually come from DirkRoxy shippers actually.

I would be interested to hear about Dirk’s relation to his brother’s theme of time though. I don’t have any thoughts on this and I don’t recall ever hearing anyone talk about it before. If you or anyone else would be willing to enlighten me I’d be thrilled.

I think it’s so ironic that the Pony Express escapes a lot if not all blame in discussion. I can’t even say I am excused from it but it’s just how hard people circle back to the characters alone without considering the environment they were made to be in.

Why would they design a ship where only two of the rooms lock? Not the bathroom? Not the sleeping quarters? We assume that all the companies in the universe are this shallow and careless to their workers but we explicitly know the Pony Express in extra vile. They are fed processed slop pack they can’t even really cook and the ration of those pack is meager at best. They hired and made people with a plethora of conflicting demeanors and beliefs work together on a mission where cohesion is important if not an outright necessity and punish them for not being happy about it. There’s no social protocols, not chain of command other than Captain’s word/choice and the only way to enforce that is with a literal firearm. They don’t allow them to celebrate freely and even took away leisure activities that would make them less stir crazy. They are only allowed a few hours of sleep despite their being no other real responsibilities or work on the ship, no matter the position or its importance. With any crew, with any level of synergy, this was a powder keg waiting for a spark.

I’m not saying characters that made mistakes didn’t make huge ones, but I think part of the horror is that at least for some (this is targeting Jimathan) those mistakes are partly made by a force of the hand. There’s a running theme of lack of choice and being forced into something and the very nature of how The Pony Express expected them to function plays a big part.

"They call ya' Sky right?" The skyloftian turned to find Tetra behind him. "The chosen hero."

"Thats right." He turned back to watch over the horizon. Dark storm clouds littered the path ahead of them. She looked past him to where his eyes met the horizon and turned around.

"Ahh. You 'fraid o' storms?" She stood beside him looking past the sky and watching where lightning struck the water. The skyloftian flinched a little. But didn't respond.

"Well, I can tell ya' that our path deviates from that real soon. We won't be going in. Too dangerous on a boat and all."

The skyloftian nodded. Eyes fixed to the horizon. Watching and waiting.

Tetra turned and looked at the skyloftian's right hand. It seemed to twitch at every noise.

"You got bad experience with storms."

It wasn't a question.

"I can see that you may be better under deck, we will be turning real soon to follow the wind. Let me get Link, he can get you down." The skyloftian nodded again. Mind elsewhere.

Marinette couldn’t stop staring. This had to be a dream, because there was no way a hamster had escaped and wandered into François Dupont during class!

Yet here it was, scurrying around on the tile floors, and the whole class was excitedly trying to catch it. Ms Bustier shouted directions while Rose squealed (either in fear or happiness), and Adrien… actually, what was Adrien doing?

He was leaning down from his first-row seat, his blond hair scraping the floor as he stretched out a cupped hand to the hamster, who regarded it with curious little eyes. Slowly, the hamster climbed onto Adrien’s hand, and he swiftly but gently closed his fist around the hamster and brought it up, showing it to Marinette proudly as the class clapped.

“Got it! Looks like not even hamsters can resist my charms,” he joked with a grin.

Marinette blushed. “I guess not,” she said with a smile, and reached out to take the hamster.

Sometimes Harry thinks he’s broken, not right. Like Voldemort’s curse did succeed in killing him, just not entirely.

He thinks it again, as he sees his father dangling a helpless Snape by his ankle. Recognises the edge of cruelty as one that greets him every morning in the mirror. Waits with bated breath for something more that never arrives. Disappointingly, Snape is let down without further fanfare.

It’s later, after a patchwork of lies he feeds Sirius and Remus to know more, that he admits to himself: the memories didn’t bother Harry because he’s suddenly ashamed of his father. They bothered him because he isn’t.

Jamie + food

Jamie isn’t terribly concerned about food. It’s not like he’d disparage a good meal or anything, but he’s not too bothered if food is just fuel rather than a taste sensation, you know? This might be the result of getting signed young and growing up used to eating whatever he’s told to eat – for most of his life, food has been a means to an end, turning him into the best footballer he could possibly be. If it tastes nice, that’s lovely, but that’s not his main concern, yeah?

That said, if someone (let’s say Roy, just a completely random example), were to cook him a meal that's consistent with his meal plan and fucking delicious… Well. Maybe Jamie would die. Just completely melt into a gooey puddle and then die. Not so much because the food itself, yeah, but because someone went to the trouble of doing that for him. He’d be nothing but hearteyes and Roy would be like eat your fucking whatever before it gets cold and Jamie would just keep staring at him, all adoring, and Roy would scowl and turn away and mutter last fucking time I cook for you but in his heart he’s already thinking of all the other things he might make Jamie.
