Hiya!
You can call me IS or NinjaNeko! Major ninja turtles fan! I adore 2012 turtles, but my interests lie with all the movies and series! LOVED Mutant Mayhem! Can’t wait for more!!
My favorite turtle depends on the brothers in question, but it’s usually between Raph and Donnie! My favorite sibling bond is usually Leo&Donnie, but, again, it depends! Ask whatever you like- I love chatting turtles!
DISCLAIMER: I am TERRIBLE at responding to things, but I love asks! I swear! I promise that every single one is appreciated, and I definitely intend on getting around to it!
I do a lot here nowadays, so let me fill you in!
For common tags to organize posts, check the tags below!
For a better understanding of the categories:
I’m most popular for my analyses. I tend to throw out a few rants/interpretations/descriptions on unnoticed or misunderstood aspects of turtle iterations, mainly for the 2012 gang. These guys are extremely misunderstood creatures (See what I see TMNT).
I also do Incorrect TMNT Quotes for the fandom (incorrect tmnt quotes), Tumblr Turtle story clips (ImagionationStation’s Ficlets), I make Mini Music Videos (IS TMNT MMV), post some 2012 show moments and randomly compile a full episode from a single turtle’s POV (Show Clips), and I intend to document thoughts about other shows when I have the time to watch (Turtle Comparison Notes).
I have a tag for asks (IS Asks) and a tag specifically for AUs that get dropped off in my Ask box (AU Asks). Got an AU idea that you’d like explored? As long as it’s in my comfort zone, let’s do so together!
Speaking of AUs:

Other places to find me:
I’m on A03 and Wattpad!
I touch base on YouTube every now and then~
I share a sideblog for AUs and the like: @bringingourrealitys2life
If I see a comic scene that makes my brain explode with emotions, I’m going to want to find it again. I collect them here. Feel free to browse and see if I stumble on any that aren’t wildly popular or have yet to become so: @strictlyturtlecomics
Quick Sidenote!
I understand that the turtles have their flaws. I acknowledge that I have my flaws. I do not need you to yell these facts at me.
I reserve the right to block haters that hate for the sake of hating. If you are not willing to chat negatives without passive aggressive behavior or an open mind, I will block without hesitation.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful turtleful life! 💚💚

in real life, i've been asked if i'm a star wars fan, and my response is always five years of awkward silence
idk like i need to evaluate all the facts:
i know a fair amount about specific parts of star wars lore
i have strong opinions on certain parts of star wars lore
(some of those strong opinions are Fuck You, Canon)
the words "star wars" bring up feelings of extreme rage
(once again Fuck Canon)
i can beat self-proclaimed star wars superfans at star wars trivia
however i also cannot remember the last time i watched tpm, aotc, rots, anh, esb, or rotj
i do remember when i watched tfa, tlj, and tros
(because they came out recently)
(and because i remember s c r e a m i n g)
i've never seen solo. and some other movies. i think? i don't even know what movies exist lmao
i have read star wars novels and novelizations though. i know about the existence of the shakespeare style books.
(i wrote an essay about rogue one)
(not entirely positive admittedly)
i haven't seen the mandalorian, book of boba fett, kenobi, the bad batch, most of the clone wars... is that ashoka show out? i don't even know
i know a bit of mando'a
i have spent days working on my aurebesh
i know my star wars swears
(i have accidentally used "kriff" and "kark" irl and idk what that says about me tbh)
i can quote a worrying amount of star wars
(but i rarely remember actually watching the clip in context)
i can sing and recognize most star wars themes on demand
i read star wars fanfiction
(at least 90% of which involves palpacreep getting fucked up the ass because Fuck Canon)
(at this point i don't even know what's canon anymore, other than that yan is NOT dooku's given name)
i have a star wars tumblr
(that does nothing but make bad jokes about count doodoo dooku)
(but HEY that does mean i AM aware of canon things like doo-doo-dooku and dooku's snide remarks about certain Little Green Trolls)
(no i haven't read dark rendezvous or jedi lost shut up)
i know too much about sifo-dyas
(i don't know how to pronounce his name because again, what's this? actually watching star wars? pfft)
(but i do know about dooku keeping his corpse. but actually i think that's legends. who cares)
so like. basically i don't like star wars enough to be a fan, but do know enough to be a superfan, but probably dislike it enough to be a hater.
anyways that needs to be condensed into a five-second answer for next time so i don't have to respond to questions like "oh so you're a fake fan?" or "oh so you're pretending to like star wars" or ---
#star wars#doodoo.txt#fandom things#i don't like the answer “i'm the kind of person to randomly bolt up and scream IS PALPY PART OF THE DISASTER LINEAGE?? IS HE AN IN-LAW”#i'll get into an argument with you about the vader life support suit but on the other hand uh#it's anakin's right hand that got cut off in aotc right#bc ngl i'm not sure#anyways the point is that's not a good answer for normal humans

[movie review] avatar (2009)
i forgot how fucking incredible this movie is in 3d.
look, i hate 3d and i’m so glad it’s failed as hard as it has. most of the time even when a movie looks great in 3d it just doesn’t add that much to the experience for me to be worth all the headache–sometimes literally. plus the glasses hurt the bridge of my nose. plus now with masks you have to deal with trying to get them not to fog up.
i’m not trying to go all Old Enby Yells At Cloud here, especially over a fad that peaked 10 years ago, but i just think that 3d is for theme park attractions and the very occasional movie that really, truly calls for it. and those movies should also look fucking great in 2d, btw! avatar is the best 3d movie of all time, but when you’re watching it in 2d there are absolutely zero scenes where you snicker & say “oh, i wonder if this was originally in 3d?” so other movies really have no excuse.
like think of the amazing spider-man movies. even if they looked good in 3d (i have no idea) the first one looks like ass in 2d, and there are a bunch of scenes in both where you kinda roll your eyes because it’s basically the big budget tentpole equivalent of in friday the 13th part iii when they stop the movie to juggle or play with yo-yos. it just dates the movie and makes it harder to enjoy in every format.
so basically you need a filmmaker as obsessive as james cameron who has the clout to bully studios into letting him spend as much money & take as long as he fucking wants to put something like this together for it to be worth a damn. and like, if that’s what it’s gonna be, fine? i’ll happily see those movies in 3d? i just don’t want to return to the years of every single studio movie coming out in 3d because the vast majority of them end up looking fucking terrible in 2d & not really being that good in 3d? and as a 3d hater, i just don’t want to see a 3d movie but every once in a while. i’m sorry.
anyway, like i said, this movie looks fantastic no matter what format you watch it in. but given that i most recently saw it on a laptop screen & (i swear to the gods) on one of those tiny screens on the back of an airplane headrest because i thought it would be hilarious to watch it on the way home from disney after going to avatarland for the first time, i was pretty blown away by how big (heh) of a difference seeing it on the big screen again made. even just the early parade of establishing shots & voiceover narration have so much more power to draw you into the world, and it makes all the amazing alien sights on pandora all that much more powerful because you’re already sucked into the movie’s world. it’s small wonder that so many people found the movie so intensely affecting when they saw it in theaters, but given that not many people are sitting down to watch a nearly 3-hour epic on a regular basis this weird narrative formed about the movie being “forgettable” or whatever the fuck. boy am i ever sick of that one.
i kind of want to go see it again. this is exactly what happened the first time it was in theaters.
i’ve written about my issues with the movie (mostly the totally-avoidable white savior narrative) as well as the things i like about it at length before, and i don’t have anything to add to that now. but as often happens with movies where i let myself be swayed by the popular narrative around them, i find myself looping back to my original opinion when i first saw it: this movie fucking owns. s-rank

Oblivious
Prompt number: 18 “you don’t see it?”
Fandom: Saturday night live? Pete Davidson?
Paring: Pete Davidson x reader
Rating: T
Word count: 1.6k
Warnings: An asshole cheater. Mentions of Ariana Grande (yes that’s a warning- don’t come for me). Swearing. Mentions of slight sexting- just mentions boobs nothing graphic. Mentions rehab. Slightly angsty ends fluffy.
A/N: So I broke my one rule and wrote for an actual person. Pete Davidson is precious and doesn’t deserve the hate he gets. I was also almost hella basic because I was so close to titling this the king of Staten Island. Anywho, the cheating scum part of this story happened to me and I immediately thought Pete would never do this to me- so I wrote this lmao. I think my love for the Knicks seeped into this story a bit.
You had been talking to a guy for close to three months now. You thought he was charming, and sweet, and he was built like a god! You’re friends were a little weary, none more than Pete, when you admitted you hadn’t met up with the man yet. Their faces would go from being happy for you to pitting you instantly. But you knew you weren’t being catfished, you video called with Henry multiple times a week. While Henry wasn’t your first choice, he never would be, you were starting to see a future with him.
But that vision went to shit with one simple text. You had gotten a new bra, maroon and lacy, and boy did it make the girls look good! Feeling a little flirty in your new bra, you texted a picture to Henry to be a little tease while he was at work. Almost instantly you got a text back, and it read; ‘shit baby, you’re tits are way better than my girlfriends!’ with multiple heart eye and drooling emojis to follow.
You had never felt more embarrassed in your life! And that’s saying something considering Pete makes jokes about you on SNL and in his standup routines, all approved by you beforehand of course. You had met Pete years ago, while he was scrawnier than he is now, had a lot less tattoos, and right when he was just starting SNL. You had bumped into him on the sidewalk while trying to catch a cab in the pouring rain, you expected to be yelled at with a thick New York accent for what felt like the millionth time that day, but it never came. Instead Pete hailed the cab for you but not before exchanging numbers and promising to show you around since you had just moved to the city for college.
After showing you around the next day, you were surprised when he continued to text you for the next month. To pay him back for his generosity you took him to see a Knicks game, lucky for you your dormmate had a fight with her boyfriend so she sold the tickets to you for dirt cheap. The seats weren’t great, all the way up in the nosebleed section, but you were in Madison Square Garden watching the Knicks! Pete was pleasantly surprised by you when you could name the players and you actually knew how the game was played, unlike girls he had dated. Of course before you left the arena you had to splurge and got yourself a Carmelo Anthony jersey!
Many years and Knicks games later you’re still friends with Pete. You’d call him your best friend, but you know Colson is his even if he claims it’s you when you’ve asked in the past. You’d be by Pete’s side every time he admitted himself into rehab- making sure you were there to pick him up when he got out. You had been there to pick up the pieces after Ariana- hell you were picking them up when they were still together. You were beside him every time he got bullied off his social media by stupid haters or little Ariana stans after they broke up. He made sure to be at your graduation, and he was there to rant to when you had a bad day at work. Pete was there to hold your hand when you got your first tattoo, which he wanted to pick out for you but you refused. Pete was there to pick up your pieces when a guy hurt you, like right now.
You’re in his basement, curled into his right side, his right arm slung securely over your shoulder, his fingertips making soothing trails up and down your arm. You had convinced him to watch an old episode of SNL- before he was on it, but new enough that Kate McKinnon and Bill Hader were on it together. You snuggle further into his warm side and let out a content sigh.
“You were too good for him, (Y/N/N),” Pete finally brings up the elephant in the room. You had hoped that watching an episode of SNL would put the ‘you deserve better than him, he’s just scum,’ talk Pete gives you every time you go through a break up.
“If I was too good for him, then I’d still be with him,” you murmur a line from the movie clueless into his baby pink sweatshirt covered chest.
“None of these guys deserved you, (Y/N/N),” Pete says sternly, you roll your eyes not in the mood for him to tell you how amazing you are but not make a move on you, yet again.
“Pete, stop,” you pull away from his chest, his arm falling off you as you scoot to the front of the cushion. “I really don’t want to have this conversation again, no matter how many times you tell me I still won’t believe you. I should get going, don’t want to miss the last ferry back to the city.”
“(Y/N), please, wait,” Pete’s skinny fingers wrap around your wrist as you stand and go to walk towards the door. “We just ordered pizza, just stay the night.”
“I can’t Pete,” you whisper, staring down at your sock covered feet, you had gotten Pete to take better care of his hardwood floors by convincing him to have a no shoe policy. “Give some pizza to your mom and your sister.”
“You’re off tomorrow, you originally planned on staying,” if you didn’t know any better you’d say his voice was laced with hurt and disappointment. “Why won’t you stay now?”
“I can’t keep doing this Pete,” loud laughing coming from the studio audience on the now forgotten episode of SNL only seems to be mocking you and your feelings. “Every time you tell me how amazing I am and you don’t- it’s just hard to believe when no one seems to agree with the sentiment.”
“You don’t see it?” his voice is soft, he stands from his seat, getting momentarily stuck in the blanket that was draped over your laps. “You really don’t see it,” this time it’s not a question, it’s a statement.
“See what Pete?” he lets go of your wrist to spin you around to face him.
“That I’m in love with you,” his eyes shine in sincerity, but they aren’t what you’re focusing on. “That I have been since that first Knicks game!”
“You don’t love me,” your voice shakes as you stare at the heart that was once Ariana’s bunny ears peaking out above his left ear. You reach up and gently trace your finger over the heart. “You’ve dated models, and movie stars. You were engaged to Ariana, even after you knew she didn’t want us to be friends. Because she didn’t trust me. You didn’t love me Pete, you chose her, and yet I was still there to pick up the pieces after you ignored me for months, because I love you. Because I didn’t care how much I was hurting, I knew I had to be there to make you feel better, to be able to see your smile again.”
“I was settling for Ariana!” he grabs your cheeks so you can’t look away. “I thought I could get her to warm up to you, I’ve never wanted you out of my life (Y/N)! You were with Eric at the time, it hurt like hell to see you that happy with someone that wasn’t me! So I proposed to Ariana because Eric bragged that he had a ring for you! But then you guys broke up and I couldn’t just break up with her right after I proposed.”
“Eric did propose, I said no and broke it off,” you smile sadly. “He, like Ariana, didn’t want us to spend time together, so I dumped him. All of the guys eventually realize they’re second to you, so they either break up with me or ask me not to see you anymore. And I was selfish every single time, I hurt them so I could be happy with you in my life.”
“Fine, you want the truth?” Pete asks, and you nod. “It wasn’t the Knicks game. I knew I wanted to date you that night. But the first time I knew I loved you was when you came with my mom to pick me up from rehab the first time after we were. You didn’t run far away from me, you still wanted to be around me and you put up with my shit. Everyone leaves when I go to rehab, they think I’m too much to handle.”
“Well I don’t! I never have Pete!” you’re crying by now.
“I know! Fuck, you’re too damn perfect for me (Y/N). I convinced myself for so long you were too good for me, that you couldn’t love me,” you don’t know how to verbally respond, so you do the first thing that comes to your mind.
You grab the back of Pete’s neck and pull him into a kiss, it’s all teeth and tongue. The passion sends jolts of electricity through your body, a wave of giddiness rolls over you as you realize that this is really happening. You’re really kissing Pete, he really loves you too. As the kiss continues it becomes slower and more gentle, both of you want this feeling to last as long as it can. When you finally pull back, lungs burning and desperately in need of air, the feeling of his lips linger on yours.
“I do love you, (Y/N/N). There’s never really been anyone else,” he caresses your cheek and gently brushes his lips on your forehead.
“I love you too Pete,” you lean in for a peck, which he quickly deepens. You pull away giggling, “so much.”

And so we begin what is probably my least favorite arc… at least in fanfics. Probably because so many just repeat what happens basically verbatim and don’t change anything. But we’ll see how actually going through it in the manga has me feeling by the end of it!
[No. 23 - Roaring Sports Festival]
We open up on the day of the sports festival, crowds of reporters waiting outside for the events to start. We see the same reporter from the day of the break-in here, along with others (though I think that some of the background faces are references?). Present Mic addresses them directly, getting deep into his radio host persona as he announces that it’s once again time for the high schoolers to ‘revel in their youth’, as it’s the UA sports festival.
We then get an awesome two-page spread:
I just love how Katsuki’s providing the background action movie explosion. What a pal.
There’s a blank logo page, and then we move on to a flashback, finishing out the conversation between Izuku and Toshinori from two weeks before said Sports Festival.
Izuku slowly repeats Toshinori’s call to action (to tell the world ‘I am here!’), but isn’t sure how to go about it. Toshinori asks if Izuku knows how the Sports Festival works, which Izuku does, going into an explanation: The members of the support course, business course, general studies, and hero course are all thrown together, grouped by grade level. All the students compete in a series of preliminary competitions, whose winners move on to the main event. It’s a round-robin tournament for each grade level.
Toshinori continues his dramatic gesturing, pointing at Izuku with both hands as he confirms Izuku is exactly on point. This event is Izuku’s chance to gain mass appeal for himself. Izuku’s response?
God, Toshinori’s a dramatic dude, I love it. I can totally buy into him being a theater nerd in his off-time… not that he’s had much of that lately, but I digress. While Toshinori’s being dramatic, Izuku descends into a muttering spree, saying he gets what Toshinori is saying, he’s just not sure he can deal with it after what the class just went through. He’s also lacking motivation to stand out, since he sort of already has All Might as a mentor, and that as he is now, it wouldn’t even occur to him to make a big showing, just like with the strength tests.
Toshinori’s response?
Toshinori, I swear if someone walked in on that, there would be so many questions. These two were made for each other.
When Izuku goes to check on Toshinori, Toshinori shoots him a serious look and tells him that the slight difference between those who always aim for the top and those who don’t will come to matter in a big way once Izuku and his friends emerge into society. He tells Izuku that he understands how he feels, and that he won’t force him… but also to not forget that drive he felt when cleaning up the beach.
We fast forward a bit to the end of that same day. Ochako is hesitating in the doorway, and for good reason: an entire crowd of students is standing there and chattering right on the other side.
Also, while I am well aware it’s not Toga… I see you in the crowd there, messy bun girl… (narrow eyes)
Anyways. Ochako and the rest of the class are staring right back at the crowds, with Ochako wanting to know what’s going on. Mineta realizes there’ no way out, and wants to know what the other students are there for. Katsuki replies that they’re obviously there to scope out the competition, calling Mineta a ‘small fry.’ They’re the class who survived a villain attack, so it makes sense they’d want a look before the sports festival.
(Meanwhile, Mineta freaks out and points at Katsuki in fear while staring at Izuku, who sighs and comments on how that attitude is Kacchan on a good day.)
Katsuki says there’s no point, though, then tells the ‘cannon fodder’ to move aside. Izuku is freaking out a bit, while Tenya asks Katsuki to not resort to calling those they don’t even know ‘cannon fodder.’
A student looms over the others as he pushes himself to the front of the crowd, saying that it’s true that they came to get a look, before commenting on Katsuki’s modesty, asking if all the kids in the hero course are like him. Katsuki is looking like he’s starting to get pissed at someone talking back to him, while Tenya and Izuku in the background are shaking their hands and heads in unison, trying to be as clear as possible that they are not siding with Katsuki.
And so we get our first introduction to a fan favorite, Shinsou Hitoshi. Boy, does he look like he needs sleep for the next month.
Shinsou states that he’s somewhat disillusioned if this (referring to Katsuki) is what the hero class is offering. He then goes on to explain who those who didn’t make the hero course are stuck in general studies and the other tracks. There’s quite a few of them, did they know? At 1-a’s confusion, he continues on - depending on the results of the sports festival, the UA staff might consider transferring some of these non-hero course kids to the hero course. He understands the reverse is also possible for the hero students…
Izuku jolts at that, no doubt panicking a bit at the idea of losing his spot. Shinsou keeps going, mentioning the scoping of the competition again because declaring that, for a general studies kid like him, this will be the perfect chance to knock the hero kids off their pedestals, and to consider this a declaration of war.
I lobe these three, so in sync. All of them are a bit freaked out at the intensity of this, which is hilarious considering how intense Ochako was at lunchtime over this whole thing.
Tetsutetsu (though we won’t learn his name for a little while) says he’s from class 1-b next door. He’d heard that 1-a had fought some villains, and wanted to find out more, but all he’s seeing is ‘this arrogant bastard.’ The three think of Tetsu^4 as another daredevil while he states that they better not make fools of the hero course at the event. Katsuki has no fucks to give about their commentary, while the three just get progressively more stressed to be associated with him in any way.
I love this whole page, just. They really do put up with so much because of Katsuki.
Katsuki, on his end, just starts shoving his way into the crowd. Kirishima calls him a jerk and asks what he’s doing to the rest of the class, and that thanks to him, they have a whole mob of haters now. Katsuki turns and gives Kirishima an unimpressed look, and says that he doesn’t give a crap, which has Kirishima shocked. Katsuki then says that he’s heading for the top, so why should he care?
The rest of the class is surprised and in some cases a bit moved. Kirishima is on the verge of tears as he comments on how that’s so straight-forward and manly, Tokoyami mutters about the top and how Katsuki isn’t wrong, and Sato thinks it’s well said. Kaminari is still freaking out, telling the others not to let him play them, and that all he’s doing is winning them enemies.
Izuku has a flashback to Katsuki crying after the battle trial while declaring he’s gonna beat everyone. He calls himself an idiot as we see some of the other 1-a students waiting and talking, and then flashes back again to Ochako and Tenya’s motivations to become heroes, followed by Aizawa and Toshinori’s comments on limited time and the slight difference mattering when they emerge in society. We finally get a zoom-in on his face as he recalls Toshinori’s last words to him - the drive you felt when cleaning up the beach.
As this is the halfway point, and the rest covers the actual day of the festival, I will call it here! Next time, we get our other declaration of war in!

top 5 adaptations of the Fairy from Pinocchio? (or maybe top 5 best AND 5 worst?)
I spent so long staring at this and wondering if I even KNEW five good Fairies, but it turns out I do, albeit mostly for asinine reasons. Anyway AHFAKKJKFHAHJKJA thank you <3
Ask me my top 5 anything
Obviously under the cut because I couldn't resist and did BOTH
The salt AKA the worst of the worst first:
1) Piccolino No Bouken
Surprised? I suppose most would have expected me to put the Disney Fairy first, and I did, too, for a while, but as I was sitting in my car pondering this ranking I realized I was SEETHING with rage about this one, so I had to rearrange things a bit. This, guys, is where my Fairy hate begins - not the book, not the Mouse's interference. This woman.
I hate her. I hate her SO MUCH, for all that I love this adaptation more than most things in the world, and that the choices made about her characterization were a huge inspiration for me. Not only does she not send Pinocchio to school, instead teaching him on her own, she is the only one to actively keep Pinocchio from his father - indeed, she makes the choice for them, saying to Geppetto's face that it would be best for the boy to be taught something before he goes back home. Who the hell are you to make this call, uh? You have known him for a day at most! You left him hanging from a fucking tree all night! I wouldn't trust you with a bloody lapdog, nevermind a child!
Also she lets Pinocchio believe she's dead UNTIL THE VERY END. She turns into a bird while he cries at her tomb. Are we fucking serious now? Leave him alone.
(Yes, this is elementary school me howling for revenge. I've been mad about this longer than reason would let me. Sue me.)
2) Disney's Pinocchio
Bane of my existence. I don't know if anyone remembers that pic of me at the Pinocchio theme park I posted a while ago, but basically in that moment they were putting up a little show to tell children a little bit of the OG story, and they asked the audience if they knew what color the Fairy's hair was - a few said blonde, and I, being on stage next to her, distinctly heard her mutter "dammit, Disney". I've been living with that mantra since then.
Nobody asked you to make that puppet sentient, ma'am. He doesn't owe you shit. Aside from that, just like Jiminy Cricket, she ruined her character in a good two thirds of future adaptation. And while we're speaking of Jiminy, WHY did she think it would be a good idea to entrust a little boy to a slime ball such as him? He's too horny to have an ounce of sense. Conscience, my ass.
Basically...begone, asshole.
3) Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night
This film is so horrible, the Fairy had no chance to be decent at all. A cheap copy of the Disney one, with the addendum that she turns MULTIPLE toys into living beings while holding them responsible for whatever they do after. Basically Victor Frankenstein, but make it a poorly dressed woman from a direct-to-TV movie that shouldn't have existed at all.
-100/10, at least you're pretty, but by God, SHUT UP.
4) Once Upon a Time
Honest to God if she doesn't keep her filthy hands off my faves she's gonna get a slap across the face so strong her Wish Realm self ought to feel it sting. I am not exaggerating.
Seven seasons in, she hasn't done ANYTHING useful that I can remember. She's not even good at her own fucking job! Not only that, she's traumatized and guilt-tripped a good chunk of the population of Storybrooke, including first and foremost my beloved son August. The Pavlovian reaction I had every time she appeared on screen can't be described in coherent words, only in eagle screeches.
She's wrong. On principle, she's wrong. Let's move on.
5) Luigi Comencini's Le Avventure di Pinocchio
Doesn't rank higher only because she's played by Gina Lollobrigida (my beloved). She's book accurate, which means she'd be annoying as fuck as it is, but what little they added only makes her worse.
She has the gall to tell Pinocchio she'd like to see him happier. Like, apart from the fact that the ghost of his father's deceased wife isn't exactly the most reassuring person to hear it from...Said father has been swallowed by a giant fish. You told that boy he's only going to see his father if he studies hard. You keep turning him into a puppet anytime he misbehaves. What did you expect, that he would do the Macarena every time he entered your house? I am honestly too shocked to say any more. What the fuck.
.
.
.
Okay, I've been enraged enough for a single night. Let's move onto brighter shores!
1) Enzo D'Alò's Pinocchio
Enzo D'Alò knows what the fuck is UP!!! The only one with the courage to let the Fairy be a weird little girl - not only for a short time, but up until the end of the movie! That takes guts! Balls of steel!
I've said before that this movie has nothing memorable to it, and it's true, but also...Pinocchio wanted a sister so bad, and the movie gave him one. And they even explained the plot hole of the medallion with Pinocchio's face in it! That's twice as good as the fact that they cut out the most awful parts of her story, which is already delightful.
Thank you, Mr D'Alò. You have my trust until the end of days.
2) The Adventures of Buratino
Speaking of weird girls, this one is officially balls to the walls enough to gain my respect. She's bothersome to Pinocchio, but she's bothersome to everyone and everything, so I'll let it pass. Her role is exclusively to appear out of nowhere and do batshit insane stuff for no good reason at all. A star.
Plus, other than having an handwashing obsession that I've felt very keenly in the past year and a half, she also has a boyfriend - her and Pierrot are the original girlboss and malewife, I'm not accepting any criticism on the matter.
(Fun fact: when I was a young kid I once dreamt that the Piccolino No Bouken Fairy was dating a big, buff and blonde farmhand. He wooed her by gifting Pinocchio a dog. Apparently I've always been very interested in Fairies getting a love life and staying the fuck away from my specialest little boy.)
3) Pinocchio miniseries
"Serena, but you said you were disappointed in this adaptation so many times!" True. But consider: I am also very, very queer, and Violante Placido being motherly and wearing wispy dresses stirred SOMETHING in 11yo me that I can't very well ignore.
In hindsight, she and the Cricket probably had something going on behind the scenes, which is a shame. Miss Fairy, I swear, you could do better than Luciana Littizzetto in an ill-fitting green suit. She's gonna break your heart and lose your puppet charge in a crowd of little idiots. Do me instead.
4) Pinocchio Vampire Slayer
This woman kills monsters - and she's damn good at it! Honestly, so badass, and such a good mother figure too, even in trying times. I don't want to spoil the comic much to those who haven't read it, but she and Cherry are the highlight of the first volume and I am very fond of them. A+.
5) Matteo Garrone's Pinocchio
This one's book accurate, too, but Garrone did something with her that almost burst in tears in a crowded theater. She's awful, and irritating, but she's...she's so human, too. I can't rage against a Fairy that's so impossibly human even during the smallest of scenes. It breaks me over and over again.
Look at her SMILING, for pity's sake, am I supposed to think there's some warmth in the dead lady? Fuck you, Matteo, what did you do to me? I am an honored Fairy hater. You're going to ruin my reputation if you keep this up.

Got a angst request with Tom x reader. Reader lost quite a bit of weight and noticed how people treat her differently based on her looks and feels insecure and scared of getting closer to Tom thinking he’s the same as everyone and won’t like her personality
A/N: I’m so sorry I took too long to get to your request. It’s just that I started college this year, and it’s been really hard to write now, even though I miss it so much. Now that I’m quarantining, I get much more free time to write since I don’t have to spend two hours on the subway home, and there are many things that don’t take a lot of my time as before. But I’m still studying, and it’s still hard to write. Also, I wrote this for at least three times? Didn’t like any of the versions, but I liked this one better, and I hope you like it.
Words: 3.7K
Pairing: Tom Holland x Female Reader
Warnings: Swearing, low self-esteem and really cute.

TALK TO ME
Self love is hard for you, and for years you haven’t been gentle with yourself and your body. Looking in the mirror and not enjoying what you’re seeing is the hardest thing in the world, especially when you cry your heart out about it for hours. It’s been like this since you were much younger, and it only grew up with you, following you through all your life, including when you started in acting. It became pretty hard to deal with your own body, and always having eyes on you, commenting about every single curve of your body.
That way you concluded that you wanted to lose weight, not because of anyone else, but yourself. This was something that needed to be done for your self esteem’s sake. It wasn’t like you weren’t eating at all, but now you were eating healthier and it even made you feel better. Trading late night burgers for homemade healthy food was definitely life changing for you. In time, it started to show differences in your body, and people starting to notice.
It’s so funny to watch people treat you differently once they start noticing your loss of weight. Before everything, your aunts were always commenting about your body, now they were always complimenting you. Guys didn’t even talk to you when you were out clubbing with your friends, now they were always checking you out. But the biggest difference was in work, and that’s the thing you noticed the most. Movie industry can be the worst when it comes to bodies, and it was probably one of the biggest reasons you wanted to do what you did. It was almost like magic, because now people really payed attention to you. In a few months, you were wanted to be casted in many movies and TV shows just because you were all over the media with some new paparazzi bikini candids during a vacation in Mexico.
But of course, haters never rest. Even though you were feeling much more confident, they would always be around just to tell how much you’ve changed and wasn’t the same person as before, because your looks went up your head. You went from playing step sisters and nerds to playing a mean girl in some romantic comedy. It was something you always wanted to play, but the industry wouldn’t let you play if you didn’t have the most perfect body to do it. You even dyed your hair blonde for the character, which was a boost to people that were already saying you were such a superficial girl now.
As said before, self love is hard, and when it doesn’t come to your body, it comes to your personality. Doubts were all over the place all the time, and now you were questioning yourself if you really were a good person, or that maybe they were right. That’s why when you got a new role as the main character in a sci-fi movie, you weren’t so sure if you deserved it. Maybe they only wanted you because of your new body, not because of your work. But you shook it up and face it with a smile.
You woke up in the morning of your first day feeling so nervous you could throw up. It was normal to you, anxiety mixed with something new always hit you like a truck, but it was okay. You had your shower, a good breakfast to face the big day of working and put on some comfortable clothes, you because you would change into your character’s figurine soon. You were nervous, but you had a little boost of confidence, feeling it was going to be a good day. But soon that feeling was shattered. It wasn’t like the whole day was a complete shit, but it only took some words from one of your castmates to completely ruin the day.
The day started out nicely, people were nice there, and you got to meet a lot of people you knew that were a big deal in the industry, one of them being an Oscar winner and the other one a big Marvel star. When you met your screen partner and love interest in the movie, you got speechless. His name was Tom Holland and he played Spider-Man in Marvel movies, and also was everywhere in Hollywood right now. And he was really pretty, showing up with simple gym clothes, a messy hair that was needing a little bit of cutting, but was perfectly showing his curls. And he had a pretty smile too, one of the prettiest you’d ever seen. But if there’s one thing you never let yourself get dragged into was believing that people were nice just because of their looks, because of you own life experience, but Tom was genuinely a nice guy.
“Hi, I’m Tom, it’s nice to meet you.” He stood his hand in the air to greet you with a big smile on his face, giving you a comfortable vibe to just relax around him.
“I’m (Y/N), it’s nice to meet you Tom.”
“I guess we’ll be working a lot together now. Because you know, we have a lot of scenes together.”
“Yeah, Cassie and Liam.” He bumped your shoulder gently and you smiled, feeling something in your guts.
Your first meeting with Tom was lovely, and you were already loving working with him. It wasn’t the same feeling you got when you met the girl that was supposed to be your sister on camera, Oscar winner, Ella Turner. Of course you knew who she was, and you loved the movie she got an Oscar for, so you were excited to meet her. Your first saw her during your first makeup test. She was in the trailer enjoying some coffee and sliding through her Instagram while waiting for the makeup artists. You cleaned your throat to announce you were there, but Ella didn’t even move a bit. You pressed your lips together and approached her, tapping her in the shoulder. She turned to you with a bored face, looking directly into you, taking all of you in.
“Hi, I’m (Y/N), you must be Ella.”
“Of course I am.” She grinned and arched her eyebrow. “You must be the girl that got my role in the movie.”
“Excuse me?” You asked, confused with her response.
“Yes dear. I wanted your role, but they chose you to do it, leaving me as a secondary sister instead. I don’t know why, because clearly I was the best choice, especially to attract the critics eyes to us. But of course, it’s so obvious why they chose you.” She turned back to her phone, as if she didn’t care who was in the room with her. She took a break, waiting for your response, but of course she didn’t get one. “Because you’re the new girl in every magazine with your new pretty body. So pathetic.”
“Uhm, okay. Sorry to steal your thunder.” You sat next to her, avoiding eye contact. You thought she’d be more charismatic, but now you were only thinking about how jealous she was of not getting the role. Bad comments were something you tried to avoid all the time, but they always echoed through your head, no matter how loud the music was playing in your eyes.
So first day of work, not so great. You tried to get Ella’s comments out of your head, but it took three full glasses of sangria to get it out of you. The second day was better, and you had a really nice lunch with some people in the cast and crew, that including Tom, who was really being very nice to you. Actually, he was the one that invited you to have lunch with them, seeing you were so alone on set.
You got to meet many other people that were going to work with you, one of them being Tom’s brother, Harry. And lunch was really sweet and funny, it made you day light up a little bit and it made you forget that you were going to have a long scene with Ella, and she wasn’t better today. The key of doing a great scene in a movie was connecting with the environment you were in, and the actors you were acting with. Ella didn’t make it easy, and you had to do the scene over and over again. And somehow, when she was around, the whole crew acted different with you, like you weren’t as important, and that made you feel really bad.
You couldn’t help but think that maybe she was right. You were only there because of your looks, not because you’re good enough to be in that role. And the second day was the one that ended up with you crying on your way home and devouring your feelings in food. Not so great as the night before.
But third day was good, probably because you had many scenes with Tom, and he made you laugh so hard you almost died without a breath. He really made you feel comfortable around him and was really nice to you. Actually, he was nice to everyone around, but that day he really gave you all the attention he could. He even shared his lunch with you, because his brother made too many food for him and Harry.
“So, he’s Harry twin brother?” Tom nodded and smiled while chewing his food. “Your family can literally do anything! You’re an actor, you dad’s a comedian, you mom and brother are photographers, and your other brother is a chef! It’s almost like you’re The Incredibles.”
“I am a very lucky guy when it comes to family. I even have a brother that cooks for me! That’s just… amazing, really.” You chuckled and leaned back in the table, taking some more food in.
“I miss my family. Because I can really be myself when I’m with them, and work is stressing me out too much. Ella isn’t an easy person to deal with.” You sighed and he nodded.
“I know, but maybe we’ll get a break soon. And hey, maybe you can come over and have dinner with my family, they would love to meet you.”
“Really? I don’t wanna bother.”
“You’re not gonna bother them, and my little brother Paddy loved you last movie. You were a great mean girl!” You smiled and sipped some more juice from your glass.
“Well, thank you! And I totally kicked-ass as a blonde.” He nodded, with a smile.
“Yeah, you did.”
In time, you got closer to Tom, more than you could imagine you being close to someone, and you started to have some feelings for him. Of course it was stupid, but you couldn’t help it! But the thing was that you’d never been in a relationship with anyone, just because of you insecurity with your own body. And now that you were feeling great about your body, but self doubting you talents and personality, it became even harder for you. A guy like Tom Holland wouldn’t like a girl like you.
Tom, in contrary, was really into you as well. He tried to get closer to you, but it was like you wouldn’t let him in. He tried to hard to connect with you in some other level, but you were a really hard person to deal with, and he wished you could just open up to him a little bit more. You knew everything about him, about his family, where he was from, what did he like, and even his pet peeves. But he didn’t know anything about you, and that was really bothering him.
One day, you had a really long day of work. Ella was as difficult to deal with as she could be, and Tom noticed that she was getting on your nerves, and that you were pissed, and only wishing that she would just shut up. He was getting out of his trailer to go home, when he saw you getting out of yours with a big bag on your hand, that seemed pretty heavy. He rushed to get to you and caught the bag from your hands.
“Ops, careful there!” Tom mumbled, picking the heavy bag up.
“Thank you.” You blushed as he started to walk along with you.
“You okay?” He asked, looking at you. You looked away, trying not to give away how you were feeling.
“Yeah, ‘m fine.” You mumbled, trying to avoid eye contact, but your voice tone gave it all away. “I’m just tired, that’s all.”
“Why don’t you stay at my place tonight? I live nearby, and I can cook to you.”
Tom had a point. You lived much far away from the studio than him, and would take forever driving there. He was living so close to the studio that he was taking taxis to get there everyday. And as much as you didn’t want to admit it, you were too tired to drive home and cook for yourself. Maybe accepting his invite would be good for you. So you nodded and he pulled you over by the shoulder, hugging you from the side. Being with him was very comfortable, and you wanted to let yourself go a little bit more, but you were still holding yourself back just because you weren’t sure if he would really like you just the way you are.
He asked for your keys and drove your car to his home. You were both living somewhere that wasn’t your hometown, so that led both of you getting your own apartment in Los Angeles. His apartment was much smaller than yours. It was a small flat, with one bed, a small bedroom, kitchen and living room, with almost no walls. But the furniture was nice, since the couch was really big, and so was the bed. It was pretty different than your apartment, that was a little bigger than his, and had many rooms, with walls and everything.
“So this is my place. Not big, but it’s cozy.” He said, settling your bag in the couch.
“It’s nice.” You smiled to him and leaned against the kitchen counter.
“What do you want to eat?” He asked, walking to the kitchen and looking at what did he had to prepare for them to eat. “Forget it, we only have one option. Pasta.”
“Sounds good to me.” You giggled, too tired to have any other reaction. Tom glanced at you and gave you a sympathetic smile.
“You should take a shower to relax.” You nodded, yawning. “And them, we’ll talk about what’s bothering you.”
“Nothing is bothering me. I really am just tired.” You said, walking to his bedroom.
“Uhm… Right.” He said, totally not buying what you were saying to him. “You can borrow some clothes if you want to.”
“Okay.” You pressed your lips together, looking around his clothes to find something to wear, but the whole ´place was a mess. “Tom, I can’t find anything in here.”
“Oh fuck, I forgot how messy I am.” He ran to get to you and looked around for some clean clothes, such as a big tshirt, sweatpants and some clean boxers. “I swear these are clean, they just aren’t as organized.”
“It’s okay.” You laughed and nodded, picking a towel that was folded in a corner and jumping into the bathroom.
A shower was all you needed. It was like the hot water was able to remove every bad thing from your body. Suddenly you were too tired, but still, all you wanted was to lie down and eat something. The house was filled with the smell of homemade food. The shower was quick, and soon you slipped into Tom’s comfortable clothes, that were much bigger than you. Slowly, you returned to the living room, finding Tom already serving your food.
“Uhm, this smells so nice.” You said, sitting in the couch and waiting for him to finish.
“I tried a little something. I know it’s not something so great as when my brother Sam was visiting, but I still can cook for surviving.” He left the plate in front of you and went to get his.
“This is okay.” You tried it on, feeling the good and hot food on your mouth.
“So, are you going to tell me why have you been feeling really down lately?” He asked, sitting next to you. You didn’t reply, but it was like he could understand your lack of words. “Is there something bothering you?”
“It’s just… I’m tired, and I don’t wanna talk about this, okay? Can we talk about something else?”
“Okay. Uhm, what about telling each other funny stories? That always light up people’s mood.” He suggested and you nodded. “So I’ll start, alright?”
“Make me laugh Thomas.”
“So, you know my friend Harrison?” You nodded and he chuckled. “He was sleeping with one of my neighbors one afternoon, and her grandmother arrived home right when they were doing it. He had to jump out the window and hide in a tree, completely naked! And I was the one that went saving him, but I almost died in laughter that day.” He was laughing so hard, that it made you laugh as well.
“Oh God. This is how much boy try to get laid. Just pathetic, but funny.” You pointed and ate some more.
“Now, your turn.” You thought about it for a while, but nothing popped on your head, nothing that would actually look interesting to him. “Come on, (Y/N)!”
“I don’t have anything interesting to tell you! Sorry.” You fell into an uncomfortable silence until you finished the pasta. “Tom, talk to me.”“No, not as long as you don’t talk to me. I talk to you about everything, and somehow I still don’t know anything about you, not even what’s bothering you.”
“Tom, I…”“It’s okay, really. Maybe we should just go to sleep.” He got up and walked to his bed, without turning back.
“Tom, please, can we talk?”
“If you want it. I’ve been asking you what’s wrong all night, but you don’t seem like you wanna talk to me about stuff. I’ve been feeling that stuff for a while, but I never told you because we never were so close or anything.” He shrugged and sat in bed. You sat in front of him, hugging your legs.
“I’m so sorry you were feeling this way about me.” You started, trying to look at his eyes, but he was looking away. “I swear I want to talk about everything with you, but I’m scared you won’t like me, just like the others don’t.”
“What? Everybody loves you (Y/N).”
“That’s not true.” You let a small tear escape, but quickly wiped it off. “I’ve heard during my entire career that I’m not good enough, and going through changes in my body only made things worse, and I’m worried you won’t like me as much as I want you to.”
“I already like you darling, and what you’re saying is just bullshit. You’re so talented, and so pretty, and I bet you have many good things to show, but you won’t let me in. I’ve told you everything about me, and my family, and friends, but I still don’t know much about you.”
“Can we start over?” You asked, making him look back to you, and you both found each other with tears in their eyes. “Hi, I’m (Y/N) (Y/L/N), and I’m 23 years old, and I’m an only child, separated parents, I have body issues, and I’m not as confident with myself as I should, but I really like you, and I’m so glad that you’ve been treating me nicely, because you’re the first guy to do so, and I wanna open up to you this time, only if you promise not to completely abandon me after finding out the real me.”
“I cross my heart.” He searched for you hand, and your eyes, giving you a warm smile. “Just start by what’s bothering you.”
“She is an Oscar winner throwing things at my face everyday.” You admitted, and he nodded, tightening the grip on your hand. “She keeps reminding me that people only want me in their movies because of my body, and that everyone is saying that I changed because of that, and honestly it hurts so bad. I was try to overcome all of that, but it’s clearly taking the best and worst out of me.”
“I’m so sorry about Ella, but just so you know, I can feel that you’re amazing, and looks doesn’t matter. You know, I watched your first movie some day ago, and really, I thought you were even more beautiful back then. But I understand that you did it all to help you self-esteem, but I don’t think those mean things the media’s been saying about you are true, because you’re so funny and interesting, and you shouldn’t be afraid of being yourself.” He caressed your face, making you smile a little bit, feeling your heart warm up for the first time in a while. “And you deserve this role, and you deserve to be happy.
“Thank you Tom. I really appreciate that. And it feels really good to open up with you.” You smiled to him, giving full insurance to him that you were glad about everything that was happening.
“One more thing that’s not clear, but you told me that you really like me, and I was wondering if you really meant it.” He asked and you nodded, with an ashamed smile on your face. So you tried to hide it against his chest and he pulled you up.
“God, I’m so embarrassed.” You mumbled against his chest and he held you, laughing hard.
“I really like you too.” He kissed the top of your held, making your heart almost explode. “And I like every version of you there is. And please, don’t hesitate on communicating. I wanna know everything about you.” You pulled back and left a smell peck on his lips. You kissed Tom many times on camera, but only a small kiss meant much more than all of those hot kisses for the movie.
“And you will, I promise. But right now, I need to sleep.” You yawned and he smiled, leaving another peck on your lips, pulling you down to bed.
“Come on, let’s rest, and we can talk tomorrow.” He brought her closer and adjusted himself to make you comfortable. “You okay?”
“Yes. Now I’m okay.” You mumbled with your eyes closed. “Good night Tom.”
“Good night, darling.”

vanessa’s masterlist | one | two | three | four | six | seven | eight | eight.5 [interview excerpt]
You woke up by the sun beaming on your face. Already dreading the day, you pulled the covers over your head and buried yourself in the pile of pillows that were taking up most of the space on your bed. God, you were exhausted from yesterday.
See, yesterday- yesterday was a blur. Everything happened so fast. You and Tom were trending on Twitter for god-knows how many hours. Headlines about you two dating were plastered everywhere.
It made you roll your eyes. Do people care that much? And they do. People cared a lot about you two. People said that you two look great together, while a handful said you were in it for the clout. Technically, we both are.
So, now that you got the people’s attention, what’s next?
Well, for starters, they started tracking yours and Tom’s relationship from where and how it started. They wouldn’t find anything because you two aren’t really dating in the first place.
However, they did compilations of possible hints that you two were dating-or maybe was just getting to know each other. Luckily for you two, you followed each other on Instagram for quite a while now so you got that foundation to build up.
You liked some of his photos before, as did he. You actually found Tom quite adorable back then. The first time you saw him was when you saw Captain America: Civil War with your friends. You and your friends bonded over watching Marvel movies and once you saw Tom Holland as Peter Parker on screen, it was safe to say that you weren’t just crushing on Sebastian Stan anymore.
However, you did convince yourself that nothing trumps over your crush on Sebastian Stan. You also convinced yourself that you were crushing on Peter Parker-not Tom Holland. Peter Parker was sweet and kind, Tom Holland was not.
You pushed off the covers and finally pulled yourself out of bed. After doing your morning routine, you threw yourself into the couch with a coffee in hand while a toast on the other.
Today was your last day off before you went back to taping so you were expecting a pretty dull day today- that is until your phone kept on buzzing.
You looked at the caller ID before letting out a huge groan, “Zoë, Please for the love of God, it’s my day off.”
“Good morning to you too, Y/N.” Your manager said on the other line. “And I know it’s your day off, I just wanted to check up on you.”
You furrowed your brows. “That sounds oddly suspicious, what are you planning to do, Zoë?”
“Would you relax, Y/N? I was just asking if you have anything to do for your day off.” She replied.
“I’ll probably do a bit of grocery shopping later, but other than that I might bury myself in blankets and watch movies in the living room.” You answered and took a bite of your toast, frowning as you tried to swallow your sad and bland breakfast.
“Okay, that’s good to know-Oh, and I also wanted to tell you that your taping tomorrow has been moved for the next two days. Apparently, Alissa won’t be back till tomorrow.”
“Oh, thank god,” You sighed, relieved to hear that you have another day off. “Thanks for the heads up, Zo. I’ll see ‘ya soon.” You hung up the phone and finished the piece of toast.
You watched a few episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine before you gathered up the will to get yourself ready. After taking a well-deserved warm bath and doing your extensive skincare routine -watching videos about Koreans sharing their skincare routine on Youtube really got the best of you and your bank account- You put on a plain white shirt and paired it with your favourite pair of mom jeans.
As you grabbed your keys and your wallet, ready to bust out the door, you heard your phone ring.
“Are you home?”
“Yes, I am, Ronnie. Why are you asking?” You asked her.
“Cool. Can you open the door please?” She asked on the other line.
Confused, you opened your front door and sure enough, Veronica was standing in front of your apartment wearing her university sweatshirt and denim jeans.
“Oh thank god you’re ready, I had the most awful day at school. I just received my paper for my 400-level political science class and let’s just say that the mark I got, I haven’t done it in bed for a while now.” Veronica ranted off, taking her shoes off before placing her books on the coffee table.
It took you a solid minute before you just realized what she just said. “Ronnie, I don’t want to know about your sex life-” You said before you fixed your hair. “Or lack thereof.”
“I could really use some good fucking, ‘yannoe?”
“Jesus Christ, Ronnie-” You sighed as you handed her shoes back to her. “C’mon, I have to do some serious grocery shopping.”
“Okay, but I’m driving,” Ronnie said as she grabbed her car keys. “You’re a horrible driver.”
“Works for me,” You shrugged and locked the front door.
The travel to the grocery store was typical: you two belting One Direction songs the whole time. You and Veronica were strolling the yogurt aisle when she asked about your whole love life situation.
“Oi, I thought you and Tom weren’t dating?” She asked as she put an assorted pack of yogurt down the cart.
“I’m never going to eat that,” You pointed at the yogurt. “And we aren’t.”
“I will eat it whenever I stop by unannounced at your place,” Veronica argued. “Then what’s with that photo that I’ve seen with you two holding hands yesterday?”
You looked around, checking if there was anybody within-distance that could hear whatever you were about to say. “We’re not actually dating.” You murmured.
“Come again?” Veronica asked, completely lost.
“We’re just doing it for publicity.” You whispered loud enough for Ronnie to hear.
“I’m sorry, but how exactly did it escalate to that?” She asked, totally confused.
“Remember that stunt I pulled at the club the other day?”
“Yeah, you were all over the news.”
“That was the reason as to why it had to escalate to me and him dating.” You answered as you pushed the cart again.
“Yeah, no, I need a cup of coffee before we do this, I’m all caffeine-out,” Veronica said before she bid of herself off and went towards the Starbucks that was found near the entrance of the store.
You rolled your eyes playfully at your friend and carried on completing the least stressful adult task for you.
It was actually quite serene. You managed to finish your shopping without people noticing you-well, that’s a stretch. People did notice you. Most of them gave you an acknowledging nod followed by a small smile, some of them asked for a photo, and only a few just stared at you-which you didn’t mind.
You were paying for your things when Veronica appeared right beside you with a cup of coffee in hand. “What? Did the line at Starbucks reach the parking lot? What took you so long?”
“No, but a cute guy bought me a drink.” She beamed, taking a sip of her coffee.
You chuckled. “Good for you, Ronnie.”
“Y/N, girl, I swear- he has the most gorgeous eyes.” Ronnie carried on, the smile was stuck on her face. “Oh, he was so sweet.” She sighed happily.
You were happy for your friend since it’s not every day she meets someone that she’s completely enamoured with. However, she can express her liking for this guy while helping you load the grocery back in the cart. “Ronnie, that sounds great and all, but can you help me with the groceries so we can leave now?” You practically begged.
Veronica nodded and helped you load the groceries back in the cart, immediately speeding up the process. Taking too much time fixing your groceries at the till always gave you anxiety, especially when there’s a long queue behind you.
“Oh my god, Y/N,” Veronica gasped as you two were walking towards the parking lot.
“What? What happened? Are you okay?” You asked, completely baffled.
“I forgot to tell you that he has this amazing accent,” She sighed, making you roll your eyes.
“Ronnie, I swear to god I will fucking kill you.” You grumbled as Veronica opened the trunk of her car and started handing you the groceries for you to put in.
“I forgot to get his name though,” She mumbled. “which is a bummer because he was honestly a godsend.”
All you could do was roll your eyes as you were lost for words.
“Oh, quit rolling your eyes at me. Just because you have a boyfriend, doesn’t mean I don’t deserve to have one.” Ronnie pointed out.
“As if I actually have a boyfriend,” You countered, finishing up with the groceries.
“Whatever,” Veronica mumbled and shut off the trunk of her car. “I’ll just put this cart back and-”
“Hey, Veronica, was it?”
You and Veronica both turned your heads towards the person who just called Veronica’s name. As soon as she saw who the voice belonged to, it gave her extreme delight.
“Yes,” She beamed at the brunette with insanely blue eyes. “We talked earlier but I didn’t get your name.”
“Sorry ‘bout that. I had to take a phone call and when I got back, you weren’t there.” The guy explained. You took a good look at him. He seemed familiar but you couldn’t exactly put your finger on it.
“No, you’re okay! I had to go back to my friend here-which reminds me,” Veronica pulled you closer “This is my best friend, Y/N, Y/N, this is-”
“Harrison,” The guy smiled at you and extended his hand for you to shake. You politely shook his hand and after what seemed like an eternity, his eyes widened. “Wait, You’re Y/N L/N, right? From the Alchemist?”
You gave him a small nod, still trying to figure out who he is. “You’re also Tom’s girlfriend, I presume?” He asked a bit shyly.
“Great. I can’t believe I have to live with that label attached to my name now.” You thought to yourself.
You weren’t exactly sure if and how you were going to answer his question. Where are you with this stunt anyway? Are you and Tom supposed to be vocal about your relationship or were you two just blatant and left the people to figure out for themselves?
Harrison seemed to take notice of your hesitation in regard to the question. “It’s okay,” He says softly. “I know.”
“Pardon me?”
“I know the real deal about you and Tom.” He whispered.
There was a look of panic in Veronica’s eyes. “Yeah, that they’re totally in love.” She said defensively. You, however, seemed unbothered. You were also curious. You’ve seen Harrison before but you couldn’t point out where you’ve seen him.
“Harrison, you’re Tom’s best friend, yeah?” You asked him, starting to get a picture of how familiar he is.
Harrison nodded. “I wasn’t really expecting for our first meeting to be like this.” He chuckled.
“Eh, it’s alright,” You shrugged. “Much better for us to meet this way and in our own circumstance, considering your friend makes everything ten times more unbearable.”
Harrison let out a small laugh, “Tom’s not that bad once you get to know him.”
“Oh trust me, I know him plenty and so far, I’m not liking it.” You argued quite defensively. “Well, I’ll leave you two to chat for a bit as I put this cart back in its place.” You said as you gave Veronica a short look, in which she beamed at you in return.
You purposely took your time with returning the pushcart back in its rightful area. You fumbled with your phone for a bit, checking your Twitter only to find out that you’re still trending and people still have no idea what to feel about you and Tom’s relationship.
“Why did I pour my drink all over him again?” You asked yourself in frustration.
As you walked back towards Ronnie’s car, you saw your best friend and Harrison talk animatedly around each other with their smiles never leaving their faces.
The tad bitter side of you wondered if their mouths hurt from all that smiling, it also made you wonder if it’s even okay for a normal person to smile that much. However, the better part of you was glad that your best friend was happy. Veronica needed to be happy.
Soon after, they bid their goodbyes, not before exchanging phone numbers. Harrison gave you a friendly wave-goodbye before he walked towards his car.
As soon as you sat on the passenger seat of Ronnie’s car, you were already greeted by a huge smile on her face.
“Okay, don’t get mad-” Ronnie began.
You groaned. Knowing your best friend, you knew that she did something that will get you mad. “Ronnie, what did you do?”
“Okay, so I know that tonight was supposed to be our movie night but I just couldn’t help it! You know me through thick and thin, Y/N! You know how I do things impulsively around guys that I’m interested in. I’m like a mindless machine around them! I don’t even know why I’m talking this much when I usually have everything under control but Harrison-”
“Ronnie sweetie, breathe,” You said with your hands placed on top of her shoulders. “You are babbling and I need you to get straight to the point.”
Veronica took a deep breath before she said the words that almost made you want to smack the living daylights out of your friend. “I invited Harrison for dinner and I told him he can bring Tom too.”
“Could you stop?” Veronica threw the kitchen towel at you as you continued to glare at her. “You’re being childish, hon.”
“I am not being childish! You’re being childish.” You argued, crossing your arms.
Veronica just stared at you, her face seemingly screams that she’s absolutely done with you.
“Okay, so maybe I am being childish,” You admitted. “But you threw the towel at me so I’m not the only one here with an attitude.”
Veronica rolled her eyes as she finished setting up the table. You two were supposed to have pasta over dinner and have a Harry Potter movie marathon while eating junk food. Well, you two were still going to do it, except this time you’re joined by Harrison and Tom.
“This is the worst thing you’ve ever done to me,” You said dramatically.
“Y/N, hon, you’re exaggerating. I’m pretty sure this evening’s not going to be bad.” Ronnie commented.
Veronica left the kitchen and proceeded to the living room to check her makeup in the mirror that was propped over the wall. You followed her into the living room and threw yourself on the couch.
“Ronnie, why did you even invite them? Don’t you have classes tomorrow? Also, aren’t you supposed to be writing your paper for your social class?” You asked as you watched Ronnie retouch her makeup.
You were trying your best to cancel this dinner. You tried to reason with your best friend though because this is your house in the first place. However, she pulled the “This is my chance in getting myself a love life” card and she has moaned for years that she really wants to meet someone. You’d do anything for Veronica’s happiness. You’d also do anything to keep your best friend quiet about how she wants to date so bad.
“I already have my draft for that paper, just need to edit it,” Ronnie replied as she applied a coat of mascara. “Besides, I don’t have any classes on Mondays, you knew that.”
“Right,” you mumbled. “Still think this is a bad idea though. Things got so unbearable with Tom yesterday, I don’t think I’ll be able to handle another day with that guy ever again.”
After your whole lunch scene with Tom yesterday, it felt suffocating. It was unbearable. He was back with his usual snarky attitude and it drove you mad.
You learned one sure thing about your set-up though: He was only charming around other people, but if it’s just you two? He was a jerk.
Not even a minute later, the doorbell rang. You got up and checked who was at the door and sure enough, two familiar faces filled up the screen.
“Speaking of the devil,” You muttered before opening the door and was greeted by Harrison who gave you a hug.
“Thanks for having us over, Y/N” Harrison said as he pulled away from the short hug. He then proceeded to give Veronica one, and it was obvious that his intentions were solely focused on her anyway.
“Uh, yeah. No problem.” You said almost awkwardly as you gave Ronnie a look, who in turn mouthed a grateful ‘Thank you’.
You turned back to the door and saw that Tom standing there, a stoic look on his face. He looked like he came out of a photoshoot based on the clothes he was wearing: slouchy black button-ups and a pair of denim jeans. “Holland,” You greeted him as you opened the door a bit wider.
“Y/L/N,” He said as he gave you a once-over. “You look...” Tom seemed like he was really trying hard to think of a nice word to say.
“Don’t strain yourself,” You said as you rolled your eyes.
You were wearing an oversized band shirt -that was tied in a knot at the front- and paired it with high-waisted patterned pants. You and Ronnie shared a small argument on what you should wear for dinner.
She insisted that you should dress for your comfort while looking presentable and you argued that that is the outfit that gave you comfort.
You also argued that Ronnie and her guests should be glad that you weren’t wearing sweatpants like you anticipated before Ronnie invited people for dinner.
“Good because I wasn’t planning to,” Tom nagged, sending you into absolute overdrive.
As soon as he had his back turned on you, you resisted the urge of strangling him right then and there.
Unbeknownst to you and Tom, Veronica and Harrison caught the frustration painted on your face causing them to chuckle amongst themselves.
You and Tom had only known each other for two days at most, and yet you already had the most confusing relationship that existed in this world.
“If this carries throughout the evening, the world will know me not as Tom Holland’s girlfriend, but as the girl who killed him.” You muttered to Veronica as you passed by her.
“Relax, Y/N,” Veronica chuckled as she put a hand over your shoulder. “Dinner wouldn’t be that bad.”
Saying that dinner wouldn’t be that bad would be an understatement. Dinner was horrible.
Veronica and Harrison were pretty much occupied during the entire meal. They mostly had their attention to each other, which didn’t surprise you. Ronnie and Harrison were smitten for each other, it actually made you snort.
You and Tom, though, were a different case. You two were seated across each other and you two wouldn’t stop bickering.
It started when Tom accidentally kicked your foot underneath the table.
“Ouch!” You yelped. “Why did you kick me?!”
“It was an accident,” He said defensively.
“Psh, right” You scoffed. “Accident my ass.”
The “I accidentally kicked you underneath the table” carried on for the entire meal, with you and Tom exchanging kicks every few minutes.
You two also shared glares throughout the dinner.
“Why are you mad at me?!” Tom argued.
“Because you’re here!”
“Well, why did you invite me then?!”
“I didn’t! It was all her!” You hissed as you pointed at Veronica who was rather talking intimately with Harrison, and was also very much oblivious to the argument unveiling in front of her and Haz.
“God, why did I even think coming here was a good idea.” Tom moaned as he pinched the bridge of his nose, obviously annoyed.
It didn’t even end there, as you all moved from the kitchen and into the living room to start the Harry Potter marathon, you and Tom started bickering over a piece of furniture.
As Ronnie and Haz went to the loveseat sofa, you claimed the larger couch so you could lay down while watching the film and leaving Tom with nothing to sit on. You didn’t have much furniture considering you’re the only one who lives in this apartment.
“Scoot over, Y/N.” He said as he approached the couch you were laying on.
“You can sit at the ottoman.”
“And have nothing to rest my back on?”
“God, you are such a diva.” You grumbled. “Just sit on the floor then.” You replied as you pulled the faux fur blanket over you, keeping you warm and cozy.
“I don’t want to sit on the floor for hours,” Tom argued as he tried to pull you up from your position.
“Fine, I’ll get you the floor cushion.” You said in defeat.
“I want to sit on the couch, Y/N.”
“I am not moving, Holland. You can’t make me.” You said rather childishly.
“Fine,” Tom sighed and pulled the ottoman closer to the couch. He pulled up your feet and sat on the end of the couch as he propped his feet on top of the ottoman. He placed your feet on top of his lap, as you claimed you weren’t going to get up from your laying down position. “Then don’t move.” He dictated, leaving you to roll your eyes.
And as for the cherry on top, you had your manager nag you to post something about your evening. You didn’t even know that Veronica filmed a quick story for her Instagram until you received a message from Zoë saying: “A couple of fans that follow Ronnie saw her story. Share it on your Insta too, it adds foundation to our story.”
Ronnie’s Insta story showed the television playing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s stone, and it panned to Harrison who was smiling softly at the camera and then, panned to you and Tom who were sharing the couch. You two were watching intently and from the looks of it, you looked like a very believable couple.
Your manager was right and that irked you. The devil works hard but Zoë works harder.

Can you do rosie..........
Yandere Rosie X Reader
In the spotlight
Cherished, beloved, adored. These are your typical descriptions of Rosie , the purple cat. She was a very popular pop artist, ranking in tens of thousands of views and listens to her songs every day. It was a simple fact, the cat was loved by many people. Now of course, she wasn’t as big as K.K. Slider. She was more of an “underrated artist” in a way. Still, she had her dedicated fans, adoring fans and even a fare share of creepy fans. However, something she didn’t have that much of, was haters. She had rarely seen people hate on her or her music. It was sort of an anomaly since she thought she would get more by now.
Yet, somehow, she managed to live on an island where one of her avid haters lived.
Chichi Ryder. A name which brought a frown to Rosies face. She was the island representative of I/N. Yet her description of the island was very misleading. She and Tom Nook advertised I/N as a nice island, full of support and relaxation. However, Rosie thought the opposite. Everyday, she would walk outside and see Chichi running around talking to everyone. Yet once she got to Rosie, she would scoff and run off. Rosie felt targeted, she felt outcasted. She didn’t have a lot of reasons to stay, she could move out easy as that. But there was one thing that kept her from packing her bags and leaving.
And that was you.
Y/N L/N. You were the one who found her on that deserted island. Running up to her, asking for an autograph, it was pretty obvious that you were a fan. She found you to be very adorable and sweet. And so, when you asked if she could move in to your island, she happily accepted. That day she went home, stomach full of butterflies. However, her momentary joy soon faded once she realised who ran the island. Not you, but Chichi. Not only that but she soon found out something even WORSE! The fact if the matter was, you were not only friends with Chichi, no, you were in fact DATING Chichi!
This absolutely broke Rosie. She had been genuinely interested in you, so to find out that someone like Chichi was not only the island’s representative but also your girlfriend, it stung. It was like salt in the wound, someone punching her while she’s down, kicking sand in her eyes after destroying her sandcastle. Let’s just say, she was bitter about it. But she told herself she wouldn’t let it get to her. No, she was above this sort of drama. People like Chichi were simple worms trying to get a bit of light from her spotlight after being downcast in the darkness for so long. She wouldn’t let it get to her.
“Rosie!!!” She knew that voice. She would recognise that voice anywhere. It was the voice that would bring her the little happiness she felt while living on I/N. It was you. “HIIIIII Y/N!!! What’s up!” Rosie exclaimed as she looked over to you. You were running towards her, a pep in your step, looking very excited. Once you were near her you gave her a big hug before taking out something from your pockets. It was a gift! Neatly wrapped in pink wrapping paper and swiftly tied together with a cute little bow in a darker shade of pink. She looked at the present in amazement before looking over at you. You extended your arms, holding out the present for Rosie. “For me?” She asked, a soft smile gracing her lips. You enthusiastically nodded as you gave her a wide smile. Rosie happily took it, staring down at it for a few seconds. It looked so pretty, she didn’t want to ruin it by unwrapping the paper. But curiosity and temptation was shaking her to the core with anticipation. She wanted to rip it open. Tearing into the paper, destroying its beautiful exterior. But she couldn’t do that, she had to hide away her animalistic instincts from you. If she didn’t... you might hate her...
So she carefully unwrapped the present. Having to forcefully push down her want to rip it into shreds. Looking inside she saw a cute pink bow. Hey eyes when wide and she let out an audible gasp as she looked at the present in her hands. It was beautiful. “Oh my god! Are you like, for sure I can have this?” She felt herself getting all flustered, you knew her style so well. “Of course! You’re my friend! And I got this just for you!” This statement made Rosie choke up. It felt like her breath was caught dead still in her throat. Thrashing to escape but ultimately stuck. Friend. That word conflicted her. On one hand, she felt the affection of you actually considering her a friend. She felt very accepted and loved while she was with you. But on the other hand... friends?! Is that all you’ll ever be??? Just two gal pals? She didn’t want that. She wanted to kiss your beautiful face. Embrace you, feel you soft skin against her fur. She didn’t want to be friends, she wanted something more, she wanted for you to be hers. And only hers.
“Thank you Y/N! I love... it... I love it so much!” And with that she put the bow on and gave you a big hug. You felt so nice in her arms. Right where you belonged.
“Sweetkins!” The tender moment was interrupted by the one person Rosie DIDN’T want intervening. Chichi fucking Ryder. But of course she of all people would interrupt you two. Breaking the hug, you looked up at your girlfriend and quickly letting go of Rosie all together. You seemed to get a little more nervous. She embraced you lovingly, lifting you off the ground and spinning you around for a few seconds before finally putting you back down again. You planted a kiss on her lips and Rosie had to resist the urge to puke. Chichi turned from you and looked over at Rosie. “Oh... hello Rosie...” Chichi said as she gave Rosie a stern look. She hid behind a smile, but it was easy to see all the hate and resentment behind her eyes. “Hello Chichi, how are you?” Rosie said, almost in a sickeningly sweet tone. “Hmph. I’m doing fine. Anyways, Y/N! I wanted to tell you that I can’t make it to tonights movie night” She said as she turned to you, a small frown forming on her face.
This made you sulk as you looked at her with puppy eyes. “Oh don’t do that sweetie...you know how stressful it’s been.” “I know I know. But it’s just... you never have time for me anymore...” Rosie couldn’t help but smile to herself. One thing that made this whole situation better was the fact that yours and Chichis relationship wasn’t the most stable at this time around. She was hoping you two would break up soon.
“I know sweetheart. The island rep work has just been a lot lately...” you let out a big sigh at this. “Okay, I get it...” in response to this, Chichi graced Y/N’s hand slightly. “But hey, I have time now. So why don’t we do something?” Y/N’s eyes lit up as she said this. And so, Chichi grabbed ahold of her partners hand and ran off. Just before the three departed, Rosie could swear she saw ChiChi shoot her a glare.
God she hated Chichi!!! Such a disgusting and hateful individual did not DESERVE to be with someone like you! She wish she could just disappear!!! Then she could have you for herself. Yeah. All to herself... with nothing to take you away from her...
“Why do you like her so much Y/N? She’s just so...annoying” Chichi told her you once you two were far away enough from Rosie. She had her arm wrapped around your waist as you were calmly walking throughout the island. You frowned at your girlfriend as she said this. “Chichi, we agreed on this. I would get to invite 3 villagers while you got to invite the other 7. Why do you have to question my choices? I don’t judge you for the islanders that you choose...” This statement made Chochi roll her eyes. “I’m not judging you Y/N. I’m just wondering what you find appealing with her. God you don’t need to be so dramatic.” You hated when she did this. She would always do stuff like this! She was always so insensitive to your feelings and every time you would bring this issue up with her she would ignore it. “I just like her okay! She’s really sweet and she’s given me more support then you’ve ever-“ You stopped yourself mid sentence, realising what you were saying. “What? What had she done Y/N?” Chichis voice was filled with spite. Your gaze was fixated to the ground, refusing to look into her eyes. “Look at me Y/N!” As she said this she grabbed ahold of your chin and forcefully yanked your head to her so that you would face her. “That’s better. Now, what did she do?” You were thrashing in your grip but it only tightened as you did this. “....nothing...she has done nothing for me...”
1 am. That’s how late Chichi stayed up to terraform the island that night. Rosie had to admit, she worked very hard on the island. Too bad after she’s done there would be no one left to terraform or decorate this place. As she approached, Chichi turned her head around to see who was there. “Oh...it’s you...what are you doing here?” She turned back around to her work, she was currently making a heart pond. “I wanted to discuss something with you.” When Rosie said this, Chichi let out an audible laugh. “Oh yeah? I don’t care what you have to say Rosie! I don’t care about you in the slightest.” Rosie walked closer to her, her face was dead serious. “It’s about Y/N.” This made Chichi stop what she was doing completely.
“....what about 'em” Rosie was now coming even closer, backing Chichi up into the two curves at the top of the heart, effectively trapping her. “I’m gonna cut to the chase Chichi.” As Rosie said this she put her hands in the pockets of her dress. “I know what you did to Y/N.” Chichis eyes went wide as her breath hitched up. “I...I haven’t done anything to-“ “bullshit! You know damn well what you did! I know what you did this afternoon, I know what you’ve done when you two were alone, or at least, when you thought you were alone...” Rosie was now coming even closer to the girl, and chichi was backing up slightly. Seemingly unsure of what the cat was doing. “I know every horrible thing you did to her...but like I said. Let me CUT-“
Chichi could feel a sharp pain in her chest, crimson red blood pouring out of the freshly formed wound. She wanted to scream but Rosie tackled her to the ground, or more accurately, half of her body to the ground. The upper part of her body was now under water as Rosie sat on the lower half of her body, forcing her head under water. Chichi thrashed and struggled, trying to get out. The heart ponds water was slowly becoming redder and redder as Chichis struggles became weaker and weaker. And after about one minute, the struggling stopped, just like the bubbles coming out from Chichi did. But Rosie was a careful cat. She made sure to give one or two extra stabs to the gut, not just to make sure she was dead, but truth be told, she was really enjoying it.
Now to get to work.
Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale. That of course was your breathing pattern as you were sleeping. Rosie on the other hand was barely able to control her heavy breaths as she looked at your peaceful form. Not only because of how breathtaking you were but also because of the adrenaline that was still coursing through her veins. Maybe...maybe if she just. Rosie took her paw and stroked your cheek slightly, caressing it with her thumb and feeling her pulse slow down. That is. Until you started to let out a sting of groans and you opened your eyes slightly. It was still very dark and judging by the look of your face you might not have realised that it was Rosie.
“....Chichi? What are you doi-IMMHHPH!!!” Rosie has draped a cloth over your mouth. She knew that she had to do this, it was the one thing she came here to do. But she had her fun now, time to get to work. She pressed the cloth against your mouth and nose harder, you were struggling and panicking. Meaning you are going to breathe in more and more as you hyperventilate. Your eyes looked at hers as they filled with tears and pain. You probably thought she had betrayed you, that she was going to kill you or something. Silly you, of course she wouldn’t! She loved you! ...she had avoided doing something this drastic, she had hoped that you and Chichi would have broken up by now but you seemed to be to scared of her to do anything. And she simply could not let her sweet sweet baby go through any more abuse than they’ve already gone through. My god was it gonna be great to see your face when she showed you her surprise! Whether your screams would be of joy or horror, she was gonna get immense pleasure.
She had tried to act normal around you for so much time. She had tried to get a normal relationship with you. But temptation ate at her, it consumed all sense of logic or reason inside of her. Until all that was left was a hungry animal. A hungry animal that craved for one and only one thing.
You.
“Yoyhoo...time to wake up sweety...Y/N? Could you please open your eyes for me? Could you do that?” You heard a distance voice call out to you. Was that Rosie. You tried to open your eyes, slightly wincing at the newfound light that found its way into your vision. You tried to rub your eyes but once you lifted your arms you noticed two things. They felt heavier and they made a little jingle as you lifted them. What in gods name... you tried to force your eyes open only to feel something grab your cheek. It was a soft paw, stroking your left cheek slowly in a loving manner. After a few seconds you finally managed to open your eyes just to see Rosie, sitting besides you.
“Oh you’re awake now! Great!” She said as she clasped her hands together! Looking around your surroundings you quickly became horrified with what you saw. You were chained up in what appeared to be a basement of some sort. But the true horror was right in front of you. Rosie, the cat you loved so dearly, had blood all over her. And a deranged look in her eyes. She looked like she hadn’t slept in god knows how long and her breathing was very spastic. “R-Rosie?! What the hell are you doing?! Why am I here?! Who’s blood is that?!” You citied out, the strong feeling of dread growing stronger and stronger.
“Oh why my sweet little Y/N! You’re here because I’ve had enough. Enough of watching her abuse you! Enough of waiting by the sidelines! Enough of letting her play around with something that’s not hers...” Rosies voice got more and more serious as she spoke. Voice dripping with venom. She stared off at the wall for a few seconds before looking back to you. Her face now completely normal. “Oh! That reminds me! I almost forgot your gift!” Rosie said cheerfully as she hopped off into a different room for maybe about two minutes, leaving you all alone. You could feel yourself starting to hyperventilate. You had never told Rosie about what Chichi did to you, so how did she know?! Did she stalk you!? It could very well be possible since she kidnapped you!
But you didn’t get much time to think as you heard the sound of footsteps approach you. Rosie was now back in the room, holding a present box. It was wrapped in pink wrapping paper and a darker pink ribbon. Just like the one you gave her yesterday...Rosie looked at you with anticipation. “Go on open it!” You didn’t know what you should do...the present had an thick oozing smell lingering around you. It made you gag. It smelled like something and died in there. But with the last drop of courage left in your body, you took the present and started to unwrap it. God what a mistake that was. Once you opened the box you let out a scream and dropped the present on the floor. Out of the box, fell a heart, splatting in the ground as it let out a disgusting sound. You looked trembled at the horrific scene in front of you.
“What the fuck!” That was the only thing you could say. Rosies face turned from a happy excited smile to a sad and disappointed smile. “Do you not like it? But I spent so much effort carving it out for you! Whatever...maybe you’ll be happier to know who it belonged to.” Rosie said, walking closer to you. You backed up, trying to get away only to be met by the cold wall against your back. As Rosie leaned closer to you, you felt tears well up in your eyes simply because of the fear you felt. “Can you guess?” She asked, now a mere inches away from your face. “N-No...ple-ease...I don’t-“ “oh Y/N. It’s Chochis heart of course! When you gave me that bow I thought, how could I possibly repay you. And so I though, what better way then to give you my heart! Sadly, I can’t really do that, so I had to settle for the next best thing. Chichi! Now she’ll never lay a finger on you again.”
Your trembling was now growing more violent. What is wrong with this cat, no, this monster! She killed your girlfriend! Sure you hated Chichi down to your core but you didn’t want her to die!
“Why?” Why was the only question that came into your head. “Why me? Why her?! Why would you do this! What did I do to deserve this!?” Tears were now pouring out from your eyes. Rosie simply dishes you as she crawled you next to you, wrapping her arms around you. “Because I love you...I wanna spend my life with you Y/N. You don’t understand how unbearable life alone in the spotlight has been. I wanna share that spotlight with you by my side! Chichi was in the way. So I disposed of her. But you don’t have to worry about her...”
“You’ll never have to worry about her again”

Babe you’re platinum all the way
Author’s Note: Before we even begin - Mini Series for sure! Also I’ve never seen anyone do this before me, so here we are!
I know by now if you’ve been following this blog for any length of time you know how much I love this man. With my heart and soul. However - there’s a particular scene in the movie I just... really don’t like. It’s the Intern scene. I won’t go into a whole lot of detail, but it hits me deep on a personal level, and I hate that it’s played for laughs. I thought it needed some ‘rectifying’! And came up with this little series. 😊 I really hope you enjoy taking this journey with Nolan, as much as you have my others!
Disclaimer: RPO characters/storyline not mine / whilst following what they did with him in the movie, some of this will be influenced by Lacero (because of course it will!)
I wanted to write a quick note about his age! I headcanon every Mendo that does not have a canon age as the same age Ben was when the movie was shot. So... For RPO that’s about 46/47. Making Nolan 47 in 2045. The intern scene takes place in 2025. Making Nolan, as stated in the fic, 27.
Premise: Nolan Sorrento has a head full of dreams that he’s sure will be actioned by the OASIS creators any day now. But fetching coffee is all anyone at Gregarious Games thinks Nolan is good at. Lucky for him, you see things a little differently...
Words: 6397
Warnings: In general - people being douches to Interns. / swearing

---
The alarm went off at 6:40am. As it did every day – but Nolan Sorrento was already half way ready, and had to skid out of the bathroom to snap it off, before any of his neighbours complained again. Sometimes he just couldn’t sleep – and he felt it probably wiser to just get up and get on. Sorrento’s head was full of ideas, ideas that he knew would help him make it big someday. Hopefully right here where he worked, at Gregarious Games… once he got a job that wasn’t an internship, that was. And - when he wasn’t fetching coffee, or running papers, or trying to book meeting rooms and call other people that worked around the company as requested by those higher up - Nolan would sit with his notebook and plot out what his future would look like, and the tech he would use to get there, whether it be available right now, just within reach, or something that one day he’d be at the forefront of making. He dreamed, because right now that was all he could do. Nolan had a job and that was enough to be thankful for, he had his life… which was more than could be said for some people. Sweeping back into the bathroom he studied himself in the mirror for a moment with a small sigh. He liked to give himself a daily pep-talk, because there wasn’t anyone else that was going to do that for him either. ‘Okay, Nolan, you got this. For real this time – they’ll ask you to fetch coffee and then you can walk in and be like… Guys! Your OASIS project – what about if you did this-!? How can they not love it? Maybe they’ll bump you to tech? Maybe they’ll make you a partner!’ It hadn’t worked out for him so far, but he could dream – maybe today was the day! He gave himself a firm nod, running his hand through his thick dark blonde hair to neaten it (at least the highlights were going to look good once he got into proper lighting!) and then dashed from the bathroom again; throwing a suit jacket on – that didn’t match his outfit but was good enough – he looped his pass around his neck, grabbed his keys and his satchel before heading out of the door. No time for breakfast, he’d think about that later! First things first; getting into the office. It was still nerve wreaking for him to walk up to that office with coffee; it used to give him shakes just thinking about maybe getting the coffee order wrong, but now he knew he had that down. Nolan knew that Gregarious Games was on the verge of something not just great, but phenomenal. People all around the company treated it’s two founders like Gods, and Nolan knew exactly why – he was doing the same. They were creating the seemingly impossible; giving people an escape from the hell that everyone was living. The longer he was here, the more Nolan gained confidence – Morrow at least knew his name now, and he was also privy to the fact that not everyone got to interact with these two as much as he did. It came to the point where he actually liked being asked to fetch coffee for them, because he’d get to try out a new idea. “-What about this-?” “Maybe later, Nolan, thanks for the coffee…” “But I really think the OASIS could just use-” “Thanks, Nolan. Really, but it’s a busy time.” “Well maybe-” “Nolan…” Then he had to walk from the room with a deep breath and try not to get so disheartened. No matter, there would always be tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that… on into infinity. But Sorrento smiled gently, one day he’d come up with something that would be so mind-blowing they would have to listen to him! And he was getting close, he was sure of it. With that thought, he jogged back down the stairs, confidence sky high. “Oh-! Nolan-!” He turned to the voice calling him, “Yes?” “Could you come help me with something… I’m not exactly sure what I’ve done wrong on this presentation… I just can’t fix it…” “Sure-!” “OH. And, whilst you’re at it, would you mind picking up my printing? Thanks, Nolan!” He blinked several times watching them walk away passed the printer, and then sighed again – well, he still had a ways to go yet…
Nolan was aware that there were people in this company who didn’t like him, that thought he was strange. The pop culture he consumed was obscure at best, or... not obscure enough at worst. Nolan liked the modern stuff, the early millennium. The remnants of Y2K... where everyone lost their heads thinking computers and clocks would all stop working. Apparently, that wasn’t highly valued, and everyone thought that the 80s was where it was at. Nolan wasn’t sure of that himself, and thought maybe most of them were just posturing because that was the era that Halliday and Morrow were obsessed with. It made sense; they’d grown up in that time. Nolan was just far more nostalgic for things he’d grown up with - than a time he didn’t even really know.
Other people he figured didn’t like him for other reasons, but he’d never quite got the opportunity to find out what those were. Only that it felt a lot like being shoved up against a high school locker again. And he was 27. There were a couple in particular that liked to get physical; only this time they decided to do it when he was carrying two full cups of coffee. “Whoops-” “Shit! Sorry-!” As if he sounded anywhere near it. “It’s okay though right, that’s your job, you can just make more.” If he wasn’t already on a time limit, “And clear that up whilst you’re at it.” “What do you get a full employee badge for making coffee anyway?” “Oh no-! You read that wrong mate, it’s just an intern one.” “Ah-! Not permanent then? Coffee can’t be that good-!” “Less permanent now-!!!” Nolan bit his lips together, because he knew what would happen if he retaliated, these two were full time employees that (probably) had way more important jobs than he did. He knew which one of them was more likely to be walked out of the door after a confrontation, and he needed this.
“Do you two assholes want to leave him the fuck alone-!?” They all turned, to an impatient looking woman standing with her arms crossed. And this would be a moment that, although he didn’t know it yet, would go down in history in Nolan Sorrento’s life. For this was the moment he met you. You could not have been glaring at them both harder - and felt that for the man stuck in the middle, it was pretty fortunate that you walked by. “Y-Y/N-!” “Don’t give me that, why don’t you go bother someone else-!?” “But he-!” “Is trying to get coffee from point A to point B, I didn’t realise Gregarious games hired children these days that would be such a hindrance. Why don’t you get back to your desks and do your jobs-!?” They didn’t dare argue with you – skulking off, although muttering profusely. And Nolan was nearly speechless, but also realised there was coffee all over the floor: “Ah-! Ahhh-! Shoot-!” “No, no, no...!!” You moved towards him, hands gently pushing him back to standing; “I got this, you go make them again...!” “No, no, I can’t leave you to-” “Nolan, it’s okay... I got this...” He stopped suddenly; now he would know if he’d seen you before. He would. Nolan was good with things like that. He opened his mouth, but you ushered him back towards the kitchen; “I’ll help in a moment, just let me do this!”
Sorrento didn’t know what else to do but wait for you in the kitchen, by now he probably could have gone outside and got a coffee order, but in you walked, throwing away whatever you’d used to tidy up the spillage. “Good thing I like the smell of coffee...” You wiped your hands and turned to him, with a gentle smile; “Sorry about those guys. They’re self-entitled assholes who shouldn’t have the jobs that they do. Alas, I am not a hiring manager... are you alright?” “Oh, it’s nothing I can’t handle.” You nodded, “I can see that.” “F-forgive me, Y/N...” that is what they’d called you, “but...” “Oh; I’ve heard all about you - Nolan Sorrento. And your ideas!” He looked away for a moment, aware that he was blushing, “But also that you make one hell of a cup of coffee...” that just made him blush harder. “You also do a little bit of work in my department, so I’ve seen you around. I could use a mind like yours, y’know? Maybe I’ll have to get you in for experience...” You nodded to the half-made coffee; “I’ll help, if you teach me how the boys upstairs like it.” “Oh... y-yeah sure...” Nolan moved aside as you crossed the kitchen, “What’s your department?” “Technology. So, they do all the ideas and spec and testing, and my team codes it. We also run all diagnostics on errors, though the less we see of those the better!” “Your team-!?” “I like manage like 2 people, it’s nothing.” But Nolan was staring at you like all his wildest dreams had come true. “...Wow. That’s... that’s incredible-!” “If I could get the right people in my team, it’d be more so...” You eyed him curiously, “And somehow you’re only an intern?” “I’ll take what I can get.” You giggled “Until one of the big plans comes off?” “Yeah I guess...” That faint shade of pink was back “I admire that.” “What?” “The confidence to tell Halliday and Morrow your thoughts. The imagination it takes to have ideas like that. It’s cutting edge stuff, Nolan. I couldn’t do that - I am more... the girl who executes the idea. And turns your dream into a virtual reality... but I don’t have such a knack for original content.” You gave him another sweet smile that had him turning quickly back to the coffee; “Now why don’t you teach me how to do this - and I’ll explain why it’s a little late.” “Y-yeah... lets... do that!” ***
Overall Nolan was pretty harmless, he kept himself to himself and did every task that was asked of him. You made a point of finding him to say hello, and chat to him for a few minutes every time you passed his desk. And you noticed that when you approached him he always looked quiet and subdued, but by the time you moved on he was joyful and animated and it always hurt you to have to move on. Still the smile on his face didn’t fade after that. He was full of endless enthusiasm, and more importantly than that – something you felt Gregarious aught to be paying attention to – he was hungry, if work didn’t come to him he’d seek it out, Nolan certainly wasn’t afraid of doing that. Every so often he’d be walking by with someone and you’d catch a snippet of another great idea that filled his head – but more often than not was met with “That’s great, Nolan, but…” You were amazed to see this didn’t deter him; sure he’d look disappointed, but he didn’t give up. Sorrento’s attitude and personality intrigued you, and one afternoon when he was leaving for another coffee run, you made a point of walking with him. That soon became habit, as did joining him for lunch. It didn’t win you a lot of friends, and more often than not you’d be asked ‘What the hell are you thinking!?’ ‘Yeah, Y/N! You actually have talent!’ ‘Nolan Sorrento is never gonna amount to anything. He’s pushing 30 and all he does is make coffee.’ You didn’t understand why, or how, anyone in this office could pick on him. And why everyone just let them get away with it. Your defence of him was ruthless. “He’s a fucking INTERN, not a coffee boy – oh my god! It’s about time someone actually taught him something about the business. Nolan’s got a head full of ideas and if no one else is gonna utilize him, I fucking will – because it only takes one job ad or someone to recognise what he has and he’ll be off to IOI!” “They can have him.” “You know what, screw all of you! When Nolan’s running this place and you’re all begging for jobs, I hope to God he remembers what you did to him.”
Nolan was wasted here. But you didn’t want him to be wasted here; he was at times a little too unconventional for your game makers, given his little corner of pop culture (not that he’d opened up to you a lot about that, but occasionally you got a glimpse of it by what he referenced and laughed at), or a little too ‘business’ for your co-founders - monetization was practically a curse word… Yet Nolan had a mix of talent that barely anyone else in this company did, and no one was giving him a chance to use it. Worse still to you – an Intern, who should be learning everything the business has to offer and be given every opportunity to get stuck into it, was doing not a lot more than fetching and filing paperwork. And sure, you were younger than him, but you wanted to take this into your own hands.
“Hey!” A smile was already present on his face before he looked up; “Hey!” “You busy today?” You folded your arms on top of his desk divider; Nolan looked a little shifty; suspicious of you for a minute. “I mean, I got plenty to be getting on with…” You gave a disappointed sigh; “Aw, see I really needed your help with something.” “…Really!?” He wasn’t about to hide that shock – Nolan hadn’t done anything directly tech related for your department before, and that was your exact remit. “Yeah, but if you-” “No, no!” He stood, “I’d love to help, that’s what I’m here for, right?” You couldn’t help yourself, and giggled, “Did you just become un-busy?” “…Yeah. Yes, I think so.” Nolan placed his hands in his pockets with a grin, and waited for you to tell him what to do; “Awesome, let me show you around tech central!” You beckoned him to walk with you, “And for the record, no, I was pretty sure intern meant you were also here to learn, and I’ll be damned if I don’t teach you something. How’s your coding?” “Not a strong suit.” “What did you study?” “Uh… Business and economics… just touching on computing as a minor… why?” You turned back to him very nearly shocked; “At College!?” “Uhm. Yes?” He’s a College grad and we have him paper pushing, my God, no one is ever hearing the end of this! But you just nodded, “What’s the dream Nolan?” He became bashful, looking away from your face for a moment, as if he didn’t dream – or as if every dream he’d been working for was suddenly stupid; “Uh. I…” “C’mon, everyone has one…” You touched his arm delicately, “Hand on heart, ten years from now, when you’re close to 40, where do you wanna be?” Sorrento looked a little affronted by your close to 40 remark but held his tongue; “Uh. I guess, I’d like to be in charge of a company like this one.” “Good man, right answer.” You swept him into another room – a neat row of 5 desks on one side, and one on the other – no barriers between you – the single desk was covered with paperwork; in the centre a flashing image, highlighting what various coding pieces were about to address in game. You indicated for him to sit at a desk in the row of five, and joined him. “And you?” “None of my dreams are really to do with work…” You shook your head, “I mean, sure I’d like a couple of promotions but I’m kinda okay where I am – as long as I still love what I’m doing. I’d just like to help people, you know? And the OASIS might help people… So,” you breathed, “I’d like to make people happy, and I don’t know how measurable that is, but I think I’d feel pretty good in ten years’ time if I managed that!” Nolan watched you for a second, and your gentle smile, and wondered if you’d even realised that for him at least you’d already completed that goal. Maybe he’d keep that back, for now – but he knew that in ten years’ time he wanted to look back on this moment with you and say “I was your first! You might not know, but it was me!” *** You set him a series of tasks and challenges and, as you did so, explained his way through them, who they were for and the effect that doing them would have on the business or the OASIS itself. Your team kept to themselves but you’d let them do that for now, the group was a little insular and he was an outsider right now, they’d warm to him; you worked with nice guys – not like the assholes who behaved like grade schoolers. Every so often, performing your own tasks, you would ping Nolan a calendar invite. “…What’s that?” He would ask you, and you would tell him “Oh! That’s a meeting with the Head of Marketing… Finance… Engineering… PR and Communications… HR…”, the list was endless – but if you had to create an intern program for him for yourself, you damn well would. You were a little more social and a little more pushy, so you knew you could get him working in all the teams and on projects that actually meant something – starting with your own, then he’d have something to show for it. All he needed was a little boost and a shot to his confidence and Nolan would be away; it was already obvious that he believed in his ideas enough – now you wanted to give him the knowledge to back it all up, and finally let him use what he already knew.
By the end of the first day Nolan was a little worried that he hadn’t finished all the tasks you had set, and as your team packed up and left for the night, he looked nervous. “Nolan, you okay?” “…I mean I… I still have a few things to do- I-I’ll finish them, I guess I might just be a little late.” You sighed; “Nolan, you’re an intern, honey – you don’t get paid overtime, just finish them tomorrow – It’s fine.” “…T…Tomorrow.” He swivelled his chair to you but didn’t dare look hopeful, “You want me back?” “Yes, of course I want you back, I told you I need you right now! With all that’s going on so close to launch we’re getting stretched pretty thin, and what better place for you to get stuck in than the midst of all this! I mean you’re getting coffee for ‘em, might as well get your line of code in the finished product too, right?” You stood, slipping your jacket on, “That desk is empty, by the way. I don’t really like the idea of you sitting alone out there…” Blush dusted his cheeks again, “You sure they won’t mind?” You scoffed; “Nolan, by the end of the first week they won’t even notice you didn’t sit there before today! Now come on! Go home!” You were right of course, and by day three your team of two were saying good morning to him, and asking how his evening had been. It took Nolan a little while to answer, because he just wasn’t used to it. By the end of the first week it was ’We’re just heading out for coffee, would either of you like anything-!?’ which you liked, because yes, someone should be asking him which coffee he wanted instead of him fetching it. And by the end of week two you were all sitting together at lunch, and when everyone took a five-minute break, Nolan got to participate in office banter and shit talking. “Guys! May I remind you that our office doesn’t have a door-!” “Oh come on, Y/N! You out of all of us are the one most likely to go off on these idiots!” Nolan turned to you, “You do have a tendency to come back from meetings, throw your notebook down and proceed to tell us how much you hate everyone.” “OHHH!!” The other two started howling with laugher, “OH! He’s got ya, Y/N!” “First off I hate all of you! Second, I also hate that you’re all right-!” But you liked this, and you already knew it was doing wonders for him. Sure, from time to time people would swing by and ask if they could take him off you for a second, and he did still do the infamous coffee run; but you let him go at his own discretion. What you were happy to see, was that his old desk started clearing, and Nolan’s files and notes, and everything he’d had on it managed to find its way into your little side room. That’s when coffee started appearing on your desk every morning. Nolan was always in before you, and had clearly expertly memorised your coffee order. At first you thought it was a simple and sweet one off, but it kept happening. Upon telling him he really didn’t have to do it for you, Nolan would smile and say; “Oh! It’s really the least I can do. After all, look at all you’ve already done for me…” Still, you became grateful to see the cups, and as you sat contentedly with them before you started the day you always noticed him beaming out of the corner of your eye; you only liked to pretend you didn’t. About three weeks into Nolan’s stint with you, the project you had him working on was nearing completion, and your intern was fretting about if you’d have him move. “Nolan, you don’t need to panic – you can still sit with us, there’ll still be plenty for you to do here. Besides like I say, once we finish this everyone is going to want to work with you anyway – and seen as you’ve had most of the introductions, there will be things from them to work on – so you can get your holistic business overview!” He’d been through most of the meetings that you’d set up – and as you suspected, some of them weren’t even aware there was an intern to give any work to, leaving the program entirely in your hands. Your boss didn’t seem to mind too much, and it wasn’t interfering with what you were doing otherwise. Eventually you just let Nolan get on with the meetings himself, and given his background all you seemed to gain from it was positive feedback. ‘He’s great!’ ‘I know. But tell him that!’ You thought he was ready for his big break; and breaks didn’t come much bigger than this one; “Hey, Nolan, you’re on first name basis’ with Halliday and Morrow right?” He raised an eyebrow curiously, “Yeah, I guess.” “I got a feeling you know this project pretty damn well by now.” The two in the corner turned to give positive affirmation to this statement. “Uh huh?” He tipped his head, intrigued as to where this might be going – although the looks on their faces told you they already knew; “How’d you like to help me present it to them next week?” ***
If this was the chance that he had been waiting for, then it was huge. Nolan didn’t show it, not on his face, nor in his stance. He was two steps ahead of you on the presentation but he always asked if what he’d done was okay, and everything you told him to add or take out he considered very carefully. “You didn’t have to do this all yourself, you know.” “I just wanted to take pressure off the team. I dunno, if one person works on it, I guess it also looks a little more polished.” You let him have that, and what he created in the end was one of the best presentations you’d ever seen. Using space effectively, but also very minimalist. “Slides don’t matter so long as you explain them, that’s the backing. You’re the draw.” “Someone paid attention in class-!” He beamed at your recognition, “Yeah. I did.” So it was no surprise to you that he presented well. Except Nolan didn’t just present well, he presented to Halliday and Morrow like a professional – and at every moment you got, you allowed yourself to simply be in awe of him. Where was this man when everyone else was being a total jerk? The different between Nolan now commanding the room, and the soft-spoken intern who liked to float his ideas around desperately when given even the smallest margin of opportunity was staggering – they were poles apart and even his smile was confident. If this was a technique Sorrento had perfected, he was damn good at it – but part of you wanted to steal a little of that confidence and inject it into his personality. The presentation ended, and you both took questions; the more technical they became the further you were in your element, and you got to close out by yourself. It would have all been perfect, had someone not thrown in a comment about Nolan finally talking about someone elses ideas. You decided to let it go just this once, because you probably couldn’t have been prouder of him. Nolan had done much the same to you as you had been doing to him when it was your turn to do the talking – and with all your focus elsewhere he couldn’t help but stare at you. He could do it for an elongated period of time when he was standing here; with the type of smile on his face that he assumed you only saw in really sappy old movies. At first he thought it was just nerves, you were kind and sweet and friendly and for the first time since Nolan had started he felt really included in Gregarious. That was before you dragged him into your team, and he knew that from this project alone – and the way you continually alluded to his work even through this presentation – that you were getting him all the exposure he would need. But it wasn’t just a nervous disposition, it wasn’t just because you saw him and what he was capable of, but you made him smile. Really smile. And that smile was on his face from the minute he set about getting ready for work, to late at night as he was falling into bed. Even just looking at you now Nolan consciously realised how much he did think about you – how much more you made him enjoy work. You’d done so much for him and he realised he wasn’t even sure the right way to go about thanking you. Still, Nolan wasn’t so sure he just wanted to thank you. Would you even be interested in being anything more than friends with him? – that just came with the risk of losing you completely. And for a second that hurt, because Nolan couldn’t. He couldn’t risk it. Not even when he felt this strongly; saying anything jeopardised his happiness. Right now, he couldn’t afford that. Even if you said ‘just friends’ - surely things could never be the same… It made his question answering a little distracted, but then, even you seemed a little unfocused until you got into your stride; then his smile came back, and Nolan got to watch you do what you did best. *** You left the room and immediately punched the air “YES! YES! NOLAN! YOU DID IT!!!” You shook his arm, “Oh my god-! You were so good!” You were elated; not only had he been particularly commended on his effort, but several people in the room had already asked if he could help them in their areas. Nolan accepted them all, of course, because he knew as well as you did that once he had all the tools and proved himself, those ideas in his head were one step closer to being a reality. And then maybe Halliday and Morrow would finally put them to use in the OASIS. One step at a time Nolan – he breathed – you made it this far but you have a little while to go. Your dreams have to wait a little longer, but… she gets it, finally someone gets it! Nolan laughed nervously, “Yeah it… it was pretty great-! It felt good, for sure. And you were impeccable, I need to brush up on my technicalities.” “You’ll get there. But you-! Where did that come from? How do you even present like that!? You gotta teach me, I’m not a natural presenter at all.” Nolan wasn’t one for letting you compliment him without continuously fielding them back. You both had to compromise and take credit here-! “WHAT-!? No, no, you present really well… I just… I dunno I guess I kinda find standing up there and throwing a project out to a waiting world kinda… easy.” You couldn’t help but agree with him, thinking on it for a moment, maybe that’s why he was known so much for ideas around here. For the way Nolan would always pitch them; even though his personality would make him out to be a quiet wallflower who did as he was told. Your team were waiting for you when you got back, and seeing you both joking together made them look at one another with knowing smiles. They wondered if you even realised it yourselves yet. You’d been oblivious before, they’d seen it – but Nolan was positively swooning. Yet, you were giving off vibes like you were interested. They’d grabbed a spare packet of confetti from the last time one of the team had a birthday, and as you both entered the room laughing they were staring you down. “I feel like we don’t need to ask, but how did the presentation go-!?” “Well, really… REALLY well!” Nolan flashed a grin, causing them to give each other the same knowing look before laughing themselves and throwing confetti everywhere. “Congratulations-! We knew it!!” For a minute he looked at a loss and you were laughing, quickly explaining the significance of throwing confetti whenever anyone did a good job – although you also had black confetti tucked somewhere for a slightly more ironic version of the celebration. It just made things in the team a little more fun. “OH.” He said, as if he immediately understood and ‘of course how could it be anything else? Teams always do this!’ - but Nolan did smile. “I guess it’s back to it now, right?” “OH NO!” Sorrento also noted your team had their coats on, “You don’t think you’re getting away with just confetti – do ya Nolan-!? It’s celebration time-! We’re going to the BAR!” “Oh?” He wanted to say the bar wasn’t really him, that he was a one drink and go kinda guy, and that really he ought to be saving any money he made and not drinking it… But you were pulling your jacket on too and that made him torn. Again they turned to each other, and they almost wanted to lock the both of you in here until you figured it out yourselves, so they did the next best thing. “Well, you two come when you’re ready.” “Guys, it’s gonna take us like five seconds…” You scanned your emails quickly, but as nothing was urgent opted to sign off. “No, no! Take your time!” “Besides, you know how crowded it gets down at Campari’s, Y/N, we’ll get a table!” “First rounds on me!” You shook your head after them, and turned back to Nolan, tentatively pulling on his coat. “You know, you don’t have to come.” “No- I- It’s for us right, I feel like I should.” “Nolan, it’s alright, really – I’m not the greatest drinker, I’ll have one and head home. Okay, maybe I’ll get a round, it’s my team but… honestly, if bars aren’t your scene.” Nolan shook his head vigorously, blonde hair flying for a moment, meaning he had to scrape it back off his face, slight blush maintained; “No. I want to come. Maybe we can leave together and just have one, right?” “That’s good with me.” You smiled, “But trust me, you do not have to stay.” By the time you got outside they were long gone, and you debated for a moment calling a taxi, before you decided it was better to just walk it and use the exercise. “Man-! I forgot something-!” Nolan turned to you as you suddenly stood stock still on the pavement, “Do you wanna go back?” “No.” You shook your head turning to him, “I forgot to tell you something.” His face immediately turned puzzled, and he straightened before leaning slightly away from you; “What?” You took a deep breath, before beaming, “How proud I am of you. And what you’ve achieved. That I’m just… lucky to have a friend like you… really lucky. We’re pretty like-minded, but different enough for it to work. And I really like being with you Nolan, it makes me happy. I’m probably the happiest I’ve been in a long time and… relaxed and… wow… oh my god…” Your smile faded slowly and your eyes widened, you weren’t looking at his face, or in fact anything at all and you could forget about talking. All you’d succeeded in doing was confusing him; his heart did nothing but sink at the word friend, and for a minute Nolan decided he would have to accept defeat… But suddenly you were talking like him – like the way he felt about you – and it was pouring, until you stopped. Why had you stopped when there was so much more to say? Or Nolan hoped there was – but then did he dare even hope-!? He didn’t hold his breath. You pulled your eyes back to him, and suddenly everything made sense. EVERYTHING made sense, and maybe you were trying to repress it, or you didn’t want to see what you thought you saw. Perhaps you just thought it’d be inappropriate considering, and you didn’t want people thinking you were helping him because of your feelings – but because Nolan Sorrento was worth helping. Now you were standing on a street in the middle of Columbus, Ohio, staring at each other and one thing was clear to you; Nolan projected his feelings. But Nolan wasn’t acting on them. No matter.
You stepped forward, minimal gap though there was between you - because of the way you walked together, shoulders almost always brushing - closing instantly as you pulled him into you. Pushing up on your toes your lips touched his. Nolan froze – he wasn’t even sure of the way he should react. Well – in his head he knew plenty, hold you, pull you closer, kiss you back at the very least!, but his brain would not compute the actions to the rest of his body; he was shocked. Because this was really happening. Nolan could count the number of girlfriends he’d had on one hand, one finger even and it’d never been serious. He also didn’t need both hands to count the number of kisses he’d received – and if he was honest, how many of those were real? How many of them were dares the other party never really wanted to be involved with in the first place? Sorrento didn’t want to dwell on that, and closed his eyes, but if he didn’t do something you would let him go and all too soon. That thought compelled him to wind his arms around you. His kiss back was tentative, as he made sure that was okay to do, but you didn’t pull away from him – encouraged Nolan held you a little tighter. His stomach was full of butterflies and when he thought on it later, all his dreaming didn’t even come close to this feeling – more nervous and more confident than he’d ever been in his entire life. Part of him wanted to go back to his apartment, slam the door and scream in joy (perhaps not, though, that’d only have the neighbours threatening him again) – maybe he could just do that in his head. But right now, Nolan was holding you, and that was all that really mattered. You let each other go gently, both a little breathless, both a little blushy, and both with no idea what to say next. “N… Nolan?” “Yeah?” “I…” “I know…” but his voice pitched, “Me too.” You giggled, finally stealing a look back to his face; “But I meant it.” He nodded, blush rising, “I-I know that too. You said… everything I’ve… wanted to say.” You nodded along, and both of you laughed as conversation became silence once more. Nolan took a deep breath; “Let’s… uh… they, they’re probably waiting for us.” “Yeah. Yeah, good shout!” But as you continued to walk, this time Nolan held his hand out for yours, and felt elated as you took it, entwining your fingers with his. He knew he would have to take this one step at a time – but his confidence was suddenly sky high, and Nolan felt about ready to take on the world. You watched him walk for a moment, how he even seemed to hold himself better – strides giving him the look of a man on a mission. You couldn’t help but smile as you watched Nolan Sorrento literally change in front of your eyes. You’d been in relationships before, and although that wasn’t what this was yet, you knew that you were in for a wild ride no matter where it headed. But one thing was for sure, you were going to give him the adorably sweet picture-perfect romance that he deserved.

Here are my thoughts on Frozen II
(and it’s going to be terribly long, I’m sorry)
Actually I don’t think anybody reads my articles (well, I might have written 3 in the past 5/ 6 years with like 4 years of inactivity so ahem) but I really need to share what I think about this movie.
I am a Hans fan AND a Helsa shipper. Or course I was disappointed by him not being in the movie, by knowing his useless appearance or all the punch in the face from the writers to Hans and Hans’ fans (that seem both to be hated by them for some reason? Even if we are part of Frozen fandom too?). Of course, I can’t totally enjoy it because of that, because it feels that there is something “missing”, because it really feels that we, Hans’ fans, are being made fun off by wanting him being redeemed. Disappointed, but not surprised, actually.
BUT you know what? I accepted it. I can deal with it. I can find all the Hans and Helsa content I want here, so even if I am genuinely sad that Hans doesn’t appear in the movie, I thought that I might be able to like the movie like everyone else. I was not waiting for it regarding all the spoilers I read, but after reading a lot of positive comments, even from other disappointed Hans’ fans, I changed my mind.
Believe it or not, I am not a hater, I wanted to like this movie. I wanted so badly to like this movie, I swear. But I didn’t, not only the end, but from the beginning to the end. I dislike it to a point I envy people who liked it because I felt so bad during the entire movie when I wanted to like it like the first one.
Long story short, I didn’t like Frozen I neither the first time I watched it. The only thing I liked was Hans, because he was handsome and a ginger (true story). I thought him turning a villain was stupid and terribly written. But after that, I was still thinking about it. I re watched it, started to like Elsa, Anna, started to ship Hanna and finally Helsa. I even started to like Hans being the villain, because his back story with him bullying by all his brothers was really interesting. Shipping Helsa made sense and after six years I’m still in. Frozen is a beautiful movie with very likable characters in their own ways.
But I still think Frozen I is not amazingly written. It has a lot of flaws, but every movie has, so I didn’t make a big deal of it. I waited six years for Frozen II, which can probably explain why I don’t like it to that point. I spent six years discussing Frozen and realizing that the writers’ idea of it is totally different of mine is quite weird, even if its is not their fault. Disney owe Frozen, not the fans, they can do anything they want with it. I hope in the future I’ll start to like Frozen II like I did for Frozen I, seeing its quality. I am not a negative person and I don’t want to hate or roast anything.
But I can’t help but think that Frozen II has a pretty terrible writing and a lot, A LOT of flaws, plot holes and things that made me wonder if the writers even watched their own first movie. Even fans have different points of views, but really, I just don’t get what the movie was trying to say.
Still, I want to start with all the things I appreciate in it, because a lot of persons worked on this movie and sometimes did a pretty amazing job.
The songs are amazing. I want to put this one first because, as someone who don’t like Disney’s songs (even as a kid), me liking the songs is pretty rare. All the lyrics are beautiful, “Show Yourself” is now my favorite Disney song of all time and I’m going to listen to it over and over for the next six years. Unpopular opinion but I liked Kristoff's song too, being very kitschy, but I think that was the point. And Panic at the Disco’s “Into the unknown” is the best, really.
The movie is beautiful. Do I need to say anything more than that? I like the autumn theme of the all movie, with a lot of beautiful images. Frozen I was already really beautiful but, whoa, this one is amazing.
The new characters are enjoyable. Especially the lieutenant Destin Mattias (I had to google his name...). I regret they don’t have a lot of importance in this sequel because they had a lot of potential. Elsamaren shippers, you know what I mean.
Some scenes are really emotional. Elsa and Anna’s separation, Elsa being about to cry in “Show Yourself” when she sees her mother, Olaf’s die, Anna’s “The Next Right Thing” and everything about her in the end of the movie.
Anna being the amazing person she is. I am a Helsa shipper but did I ever say how much I love Anna? Anna who saves the day, as she always does, Anna being so strong and doing the right thing, Anna’s becoming queen (again I know it’s not a really popular opinion but I love Anna being queen and I would DIE to see her having powers too). She was a way more relatable character in the all movie than Elsa in my opinion, unfortunately. The only time I get a little emotional in the movie was for her, and even before, I always thought that Anna was the true heroine of all the Frozen franchise.
Elsa’s being super powerful. I have to say I didn’t like it, for a lot of reason I’ll discuss later, but I understand why a lot of persons like it. In six years, Elsa became a symbol, of what can be seen as a weakness could actually be your strength. In that sense, the fact that she is so powerful, so sure about herself, can be a fantastic message, especially for young audience, and having Elsa (or Anna) as role model seems really positive to me.
Kristoff’s positive masculinity. The line “My love is not fragile”, just that. You’re a cool guy, Kristoff, I like you. You deserve a happy marriage. That being said, I had to continue with what I didn’t like. I have to say first that I watched this movie only once, not in my mother tongue, and I didn’t watch Frozen I since a long time go. So it might containes mistakes or things I simply forgot. I am sorry for that. Again I don’t want to roast this movie, and I am really happy if you liked it, I wish I had too, I don’t like to be that negative but I have to take this out of my mind. (I’m not going to discuss Hans’ not being in the movie, as I said I accepted it)
I’ll start with “minor problems” really subjective and finish with my biggest issues about this movie.
Olaf was never funny to me. Unpopular opinion again, I don’t appreciate Olaf, I barely think him being a bit funny in the first movie, but in this one... I didn’t even smile once, except maybe with him explaining Frozen I’s Plot, but that was an easy one. His song is the only one I totally dislike and all his “I’ll understand when I grow up” well... I didn’t get it. When he admits he is angry at Elsa is the moment that made me him like him a little more. But, yeah, no, Olaf is not my cup of tea.
It’s the first time in my life I think animated characters are bad at acting. I am sorry but some lines where... like... I don’t know. The one I have in mind is especially when Kristoff is trying to propose once again and talks about “being crazy” and Anna responds with “Do you think I’m crazy??” with crazy eyes like... she NEVER acts like that! It seems like the animators wanted so badly to show how many facial expression the were capable of that they wrote those weird lines where the character changes their expression in a couple of seconds. The same goes with all the times the characters talk to themselves so the audience can understand what’s happening (ok it’s a kid’s movie but they’re not stupid...). Sometimes it made sense but sometimes it was just like a Korean drama, really (I love Korean drama but that’s not a compliment). I think it’s more a problem of writing, but sometimes it just made me feels that I was watching bad actors, that was so weird.
All the “water has memory” stuff. I am sorry but it doesn’t make sense, even a little. I know it’s a movie and I shouldn’t care, but the boat scene just killed me. Elsa has ICE powers, not WATER (I know ice is from water but if it’s the same, why is there a water spirit while Elsa is the fifth one?), so HOW DOES THAT WORK? HOW? EXPLAIN, MOVIE, PLEASE. Elsa can take water in everything (wind, earth, boat) and can create “memory” because it’s made of ice? Is that her special ability that nobody else has? But the water spirit also have a form of an horse so you can create things with water too? I don’t get it, not at all, sorry, I just don’t. It’s just lazy writing, in my opinion. It shouldn’t be a big deal, but that fact that it is used at EVERY single moment of the movie made me cringe, especially because of the next problem I have:
The characters understand everything too fast. All the “water has memory” bullshit is an easy way to allows that. The fact that the sisters immediately recognized their young father is a thing, but just by seeing a scarf they immediately understand that their mother is from here? Ok, why not. But Anna, just by seeing a sculpture of her grandfather trying to kill someone, she immediately understands that the dam was a trap???? HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO GET THAT? It could have been BILLIONS of reasons to her grandfather to kill the chef of the tribute, like conquer their forest, stealing their stuff or whatever. How does she know that the dam was a trap when it could have been a real sign of peace but then their grandfather becoming a douche after that? Again, it’s so lazy writing. Just by the tribe explaining to her that the dam was bad for them, but Anna continue to believe her grandfather was good, before understanding by the statue he was not could have been ENOUGH. And again, HOW does she know that breaking the dam is going to solve everything? Because the tribe lives with the nature, so what’s again the tribe is against the nature, so the spirits are mad, so they blocked the forest, but still what does that have to do with the damn fifth spirit? I don’t get this movie.
Elsa’s earning spirit’s friendship by fighting them. This one really made me wondering if I was watching the same movie as everybody. The spirits seem to be positive figure, because they represent nature. They don’t want intruders, so they attacked the group... why did they suddenly started to like and help Elsa when all she does is fighting them? Because they understand that she is like them? Because she is too powerfull, they finally decide to help her? What made them change their mind? If the writers tried to do something like Moana, well... that was better done in Moana, because she failed when she tried to attack but succeed when she decides not to, because you can’t fight nature, that’s the message. Again, I don’t get what this movie is trying to do. (oh and I especially hate the scene with the water horse, just by jumping on a horse doesn’t mean it suddenly loves you being there...)
The fifth spirit. Do I need to say anything else? All the fifth spirit stuff didn’t make sense and was totally useless in a movie that could have worked without. Honeymaren saying to Elsa that she belongs to the forest was... like... you BARELY know her, how do you know that? It was like they needed to have a reason to make her stay in the forest and “be free”? When she could just have given the crown to Anna that deserves it and being free... with her family? (her REAL family she needs not her mother’s tribe...)
Elsa and Anna abandoning their kingdom for the second time in two movies. Ok you did it to save Arendelle but, still. And after that people still complain about Hans not being a good leader? Again, not a big deal, but my girls... don’t do that often please.
Elsa’s journey. That’s a big no no for me. Did the writers of this movie watched the first one? Because she just seemed like a totally different character to me. I understand she grew up, and I could have accept that she wanted to be free, that it was her journey. But, again, it was not brightly written. In like the five first minutes of the movie, we are introduced to Elsa hearing voices and... that’s it. She hears voice. If it was supposed to be symbolic or her wanting to go for an adventure instead of having a boring like in Arendelle, well, that was absolutely not necessary. Why didn’t they show her not enjoying her life? Like doing queen’s tasks she doesn’t enjoy, talking to people that continue to judge her for her powers, showing that Anna is naturally a better leader than her. It could have been very interesting that even being that powerful, she still has flaws, visible flaws. The only thing we see is her life with her family, but if the message of the movie was that the sisters have to learn how to live separately, again it wasn’t clear AT ALL. And thinking that the message of the first movie was that love from your family can save you, it’s a quite weird message for a sequel in my opinion.
At the end of the movie she is supposed to be free... free from what? By not accepting herself? While we see her being so confident about herself during the ENTIRE movie (yeah she “died” at one moment but it just made her realize that Anna is strong enough to help her to, which is totally different from accepting her own flaws). She finally found the place she belongs... again... a forest? Because her mother come from here? ??? I don’t get this movie.
And finally... my biggest problem... the HUGE issue I have with this movie. The only thing I just can’t ignore. The thing that made me cringe to HARD during the ENTIRE MOVIE.
Why is nobody discussing Elsa’s parents attitude during the first movie?
DID THE WRITERS WATCH THEIR OWN DAWN FIRST MOVIE??? DID THEY?
Don’t get me wrong, I do think Elsa’s parents loved her. I do think they thought they were doing the right things for her and their other daughter. I do think they had the best intentions. I do things parents with good intentions can f*ck up their kids so badly it will follow them forever (well, not forever in the case of Elsa, because she is perfectly fine now as if the first movie never existed... mental health, not a big issue).
BUT WHAT THEY DID TO HER WAS WRONG.
To be honest I would have LOVED if Elsa’s arc was about understand and finally forgive her parents about what they did to her. It would even have made sense with her grandfather being a douch, convincing his son that magic is dangerous. It’s normal that Elsa and Anna love their parents, I mean, just because your parents did something wrong doesn’t mean that you won’t love them anymore. But all the “Let it go” song was about not listening to her restrictive parents anymore!! They erase her from her beloved sister’s memory and caused her terrible anxious issue that was basically THE PLOT OF THE FIRST MOVIE.
Elsa’s parents f*cked up EVERYTHING and you can’t change my mind. The fact that this is NEVER, not A SINGLE TIME, discussed in the entire movie was unbearable for me. And worst, the fact that they are shown as heroes really disturbed me. Again, I would not mind if this was the consequence of an all “redemption” arc for them, by Elsa finally understand her parents, why they wanted to restrict her true self (the f*cking thing she is singing about in “Show Yourself” with her MOTHER, yeah movie, that makes totally sense), why they thought it was the right thing to do when it wasn’t. Iduna’s being the voice Elsa hears could have been her wanting her daughter’s forgiveness and encouraging her to be 100% herself after years saying her not to be. But no.
The worst for me was the boat scene. So Elsa’s parents are the true heroes of the story, for some reason, AND they died because they wanted to help Elsa ? I swear, when Elsa started to feel guilty of their death I wanted to leave the theater so bad. AGAIN, if she had discovered that after an all movie being mad at them for restraining her true self for so long, it would have made sense. It could have help her understand that they did love her too, that they did wrong but wanted to help her in the end. Elsa could have grown from the bitterness of the past, and her thinking that she is so powerful she could do everything could have been her way of emancipation from her parents, when she finally learns that she still needs her sister's help.
This is all I see with Frozen II: a lost opportunity. A lost opportunity to have a better journey for Elsa, than just... being powerful, always powerful, being saved by her sister again and becoming a god-like powerful after that. A lost opportunity to show that good parents can be wrong thinking they are doing what’s right for their children. A lost of opportunity to show a character who wants to break free, not from something not even explicitly shown in the movie, but from the regrets of the past that we can all understand (because it was IN THE FIRST DAMN MOVIE).
A lost opportunity of a good sequel. Maybe Frozen II is a good movie, I don’t know, but it’s a really weird sequel in my opinion. The story makes no sense, the characters have really strange evolution, and some message are questionable. Again, I am really happy for you if you like it, and I even envy you for that. Waiting six years for a movie you almost wanted to leave the theater at, that’s harsh. I thought I was only going to be disappointed at Hans’ missing, but with all the plot holes and the weirdness of the story, I’m not even sure it would have been better with him anyway. Maybe you did dodge a bullet here, Hans...
So... fandom team. Whenever you liked the movie or not, like me, please let’s create some cool content. That’s what fandoms are made for and made off. I don’t want to leave the Frozen fandom, because I still like a lot of things about it. I am just sad this sequel was not worth the patience for me. I hope I didn’t make any Frozen II fans feel bad because of this post. I just wanted to share my thoughts. It took me hours but I needed to.
Now all I can say is: disappointed, but not surprised.

You had run up the stairs upon entering your house, yelling out a quick “hey I’m home” to your parents to keep from rising suspicion.
You tossed your bag onto your desk chair and went and sat on the big bean bag in the corner of your room, curling up into it under a blanket.
It was nearing 4 o’clock and you knew that the beans would be spilled any moment now.
You were absolutely nauseous.
You refreshed Instagram over and over until a notification came up at the top of your feed.
Tomholland2013 started a live video. Watch it before it ends!
Tears slipped down your cheeks again and you clicked on it, turning up the volume as the obviously anguished face of your worst nightmare appeared on the screen. The way his eyes puffed unnaturally led you to believe he, too, had been crying.
He waited a few seconds for people to join and weakly smiled. It broke your heart to see him in this state, but it pained you even more to know how it had come to this.
“Hey, everyone,” he began quietly, waving to the camera. You recognized the background photos from his hotel room and continued to weep harder.
Comments were rolling in, concerned fans asking Tom if he was okay and what was going on. Even some of his celebrity friends appeared to be confused in the comments.
“I wanted to address some rumors going on about me and the mystery girl. That girl is y/n y/l/n. We met by accident at the premiere last week and snapped a photo together as I’m sure you’ve all seen. Fast forward to only a few days ago, when I helped take her to the hospital.”
He paused. Comments were getting more frequent as the live stream continued, more people joining by the second.
Your breath was caught in your throat and chest was heavy and tight.
Am I having a panic attack? you thought before Tom continued.
“I took y/n to the hospital because she injured her head and I happened to be at the right place at the right time. That’s all that happened. We have only met those two times and I am happy that I was there when she needed help.”
You help back sobs at this point, not wanting to alarm your parents but unable to suppress the emotions you felt about his lying.
“Every other theory or suspicion is false. Those photos were of me driving her to the doctor. Y/n and I have had no contact since the incident, so please don’t bother her any further. I just wanted to come on and say y/n, I hope you’re feeling better and doing well, and to let all of you fans know the truth.”
He looked away from the camera when he said “truth,” and you were angered more.
This wasn’t the truth. This wasn’t okay. This wasn’t the Tom you’d come to know and even consider a friend.
“Finally, thank you all for the support on the movie and I love seeing your reactions. I will resume doing press this weekend when I head to South Korea and then China next week. I’m glad I could share this film with you and once again, I hope you’re feeling better y/n and that we could possibly meet again when you are okay. Thank you all.”
He gave a final wave and slight grin before ending the stream, struggling to tap the button multiple times and swearing a bit as he finally did it.
You wanted to throw your phone across the room and smash it to pieces and simultaneously lock yourself in the closet and never leave. Another part of you yearned to scream the truth over the rooftops and tell the world how horrible Tom was for this.
Now I know why I never liked him you imagined again.
You finally worked up the courage to send one message to b/f/n.
I’m sorry.
You hit send and seconds later another text came through from someone else.
I’m so sorry. It’s done.
Who from?
Clara twinkletoes, of course.
You tossed your phone away from you on the carpet and snuggled further into the bean bag, trying to muffle the sounds of sobs with your blanket.
__________________________________
Your parents called you down for dinner, but food wasn’t on your mind in the slightest.
You probably looked like you’d been hit by a truck as you made your way down the stairs, and your mom and dad noticed immediately.
“Oh my gosh, baby. What happened?” your mother fawned, rushing to you and placing her hands softly on your cheeks.
“Tom Holland,” you mumbled, defeated.
“Is that some boy I need to put in his place?” your dad asked sincerely, brows furrowed.
You shook your head slightly and pulled away from your mother.
“I thought that was the actor boy b/f/n likes but you don’t. Didn’t she go meet him last week?” she inquired.
“Look up his name online, I’m sure you’ll find the fabricated story somewhere.”
You apathetically began building your plate, scooping some lasagna out and grabbing a small bit of salad as your parents scanned the TMZ article that had been published with the help of an “anonymous source.”
“The source says y/l/n has shown previous disdain for the ‘Spider-Man’ star, but is grateful for the help he extended in her dire situation. Her social media is booming as both fans and haters flock to ask about her encounter, but no word has been published by her yet. It’s only a matter of time before the California native makes a statement. Most are calling her lucky, and we don’t blame her,” your mom read aloud.
You thought you had no tears left to cry before, but more slipped down your cheek as you slid into a chair at the dining table.
“What is this?” your mom asked as she and your dad looked up from the article to you.
You started explaining everything over your dinner halfheartedly, trying not to let your emotions continue to get the best of you.
They reacted with both concern and surprise as you told the story from beginning to present, choosing not to leave out the part where Tom had secretly been in the house a few nights previous.
The lie was over, and the only way to move forward was with the truth, no matter how your parents would react.
Upon finishing the tale, you looked up from your barely eaten meal to find both parents eyeing you sympathetically.
“That’s it. That’s everything. Punish me how you see fit. Nothing could be worse than what I’ve already been through today.”
“Honey, we aren’t going to punish you. You’re an adult and you made some decisions that you can’t un-make. The consequences have already presented themselves. What matters now is how you move on from this,” your mom began.
“And we’ll be behind you every step of the way,” your dad finished.
You couldn’t help but smile and stood to hug them, welcoming their warm embraces. While cherishing the moment, you still couldn’t help but fear for b/f/n’s reaction.
“We may have to talk about you being able to sneak a boy into the house under our noses, though,” your father joked as you leaned into their arms.
__________________________________
You readied for bed after spending a few hours curled into the couch watching evening programming.
You hadn’t looked at your phone once since receiving that text from Tom and dreaded looking at it, but decided to do so anyways.
You saw that there was a message from b/f/n but decided to ignore it for now.
Snapchat was filled with snaps from friends and acquaintances who had learned of the incident already.
Leaving them on read was the only feasible option right now.
A quick scan of Instagram and Twitter shot your anxiety through the roof and you refused to make any posts just yet.
The world would just have to wait for your mental health to improve.
Eventually you worked up the nerve to open the text from b/f/n, ignoring all others from family and other close friends.
This isn’t you, it began.
You have a lot of explaining to do if you expect me to understand or forgive you, but I’m not writing you off just yet
Let me know when you’re ready to talk.
You honestly couldn’t believe it.
Sure, you two had been friends for years and been through thick and thin, but you also knew how she could react in anger and be unforgiving for a long time.
It took about 20 minutes of you staring at her texts and pacing the room to think up a reply, and your words still would never make up for all of it.
I really don’t know if I am ready to share, but I swear on my life that you’ll be the first to hear from me when I am. I’ll be in touch soon. Thank you, I love you.
With that, you placed the phone on the charger on do not disturb and you crawled onto the bed.
A certain scent hit you like a truck upon laying down.
You inhaled sharply and tensed.
That damned cologne was still there.
Sleeping like this was not an option, so immediately you got back up, headed out the door, and made your way to the guest room.
That would have to work tonight, and tomorrow you would have to decide between washing or burning your bedsheets.
Those thoughts didn’t make it too far, though, because almost immediately after your head hit the pillow, you were out like a light.

You couldn’t do anything.
All day you had stayed in, afraid to be seen in public and even worse, be confronted about this. You couldn’t even make yourself go to dance in avoidance of your classmates.
Instead, you spent the day managing your anger and sadness through working out for almost two hours and eventually breaking down on the floor of your makeshift home gym.
Your mom had taken off from work to keep watch of you and came in upon hearing you. She sat down on the floor and embraced you, ignoring the sweat covering your body and clothes.
After finally managing to get up, you headed back upstairs and hopped into a long hot bath. Maybe that would cleanse you of all of this.
It didn’t.
Later, you stripped your bed of the sheets and tossed them in the wash, dumping a scoop and a half of laundry detergent in for good measure. You also misted the bare mattress and pillows with linen spray just in case.
You wouldn’t let anything remind you of him.
The day went by too slowly as isolation set in. You couldn’t check social media because your feed was overloaded with inquiries, and you couldn’t talk to your friends because they were just as bad as the fans and haters.
You were now sitting watching youtube videos while your mom watched tv. You weren’t paying attention until you heard the volume go up.
Upon looking up at the screen, you saw that she was watching Entertainment Tonight and they were running a story on you.
It felt like your stomach had dropped to the floor when your name was said by one of the journalists. Even though you knew that what they’d say was false, you couldn’t look away.
They basically recapped everything Tom and the TMZ article had said, but also mentioned that you had been talked about on other talk shows and gossip sites all night and day.
Your mom gave you a sympathetic look, but you chose to ignore it all, rolling your eyes and continuing to try to figure out how to move on.
Eventually you would have to leave the house and talk about it all, but today was necessary for self care and reflection.

When you responded, I started thinking back to when I first got into Loki. I am ashamed to say, that yes it was from gagnarok. but because I love the truth, I went out seeking it (so my love for gagnarok only lasted a few months) anyways, I do remember loving how great it was after watching it and spreading the word about it; ready to take down any YouTuber with a negative response towards the movie, even though I REALLY didn't want to see it twice. It just stayed in my brain for some reason. I still don't fully understand why, but I think you def hit the nail on the coffin 💜
You enjoyed something, you wanted to Keep enjoying that thing. There is nothing inherently wrong with this. You Subjective reaction to the Movie can be “I though it was a good film” and the Objective reality “This films has MAJOR Problems with it” are two different things.
For example, Michael Bay’s Transformers is objectively a Bad Film: Bad characterization, bad plot, dumb action, over-sexualization, really terrible main character. However, many people Subjective reaction to the Movie is “It was a pretty good movie.” The action scenes were entertaining enough to keep you interested and the character work well enough for ONE watch through. Ragnorak is Similar, your first subjective reaction to the movie was to say it was good.
Your reaction to the movie is also, in some ways, artificial. After all, with big releases like Marvel Movies are is a lot of Fanfare trying to hype you up to go to the Movie. Trailers like to “Your going to have a great time watching this film. It has all the stuff you want.” And then there is the Disney Press Tour trying to encourage media outlets to say the same thing. Finally, when you are all excited to watch the movie, you watch the movie and before you can really process what you watch, you talk with your friends. Now, you had a fairly happy experience, so when you asked your friends they will say “Yeah that was a good Movie,” re-enforcing the Idea that it actualy was a good movie.
Without realizing it, there are 3 forces trying to convince you that watch you actually watched was Good, and not Crap in any meaningful way. Reason 1: You don’t want to have wasted you time and money, so what you spent you time and money on MUST be Good. Reason 2: Your Friends want to feed off you energy and have the same Reason1 working on them. These direct friends will again tell you that the movie is Good. Reason 3: Disney has a strong incentive to want you to think the movie is good, so they promote articles and Social Media pieces that say that the Movie is Good so they continue to Make MONEY off of it for as long as it’s in the Box Office. (Let’s not forget, Ragnorak made just as much as The Justice league did)
Because of all of these Factors, when you are going to talk about the movie a week after you watch, you are STRONGLY encouraged to say how awesome it was. And the People who said it sucked, well, they must just be no-good haters who want to ruin your happiness, RIGHT? There is no way the thing that you watched ONCE can be bad, it must be something else. There is no way I was wrong, that what I liked is bad, that my reasoning can be flawed. It must be those Haters.
And this Line of thinking Works .... for a little bit. The thing is, movie last forever (at least with the internet) and the internet LOVES to over-analysis everything. Piece by Piece, more and more voices start to voice some little things they didn’t like, and than those little things start to pile up, and more and more little things pile up, and OMG This Movie is horrible how did I ever like it in the first place.
You want to see this in Action. Watch Mauler’s A Critique of Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Introduction. Mauler has a whole playlist talking about the Sequel Star Wars movies, and it’s like 24 hours long when you include all 3 movies and like 5 parts of it (Each on like 2 hours long). You don’t have to watch the whole thing, just Watch the first 5 minutes of this specific video. You’ll see this EXACT thing happening to Everyone when it came to The Force Awakens.
One other Problem with the Thor IP that should be address though. IMO, the biggest problem with Thor, is honestly Thor. I don’t think Chris Hemsworth every capture that spirit of Thor, as Least in comparison to the other 3 major character for Avengers (2012). So, arguably the 4 most important characters of the Avengers was Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Loki. Iron Man was the character to get the MCU kicked off, but Thor and Captain America Movies were there to build up momentum and build up to the Avengers. Chris Evans did a great job capturing Cap down-to-earth persona and how he really does want to be a good leader, a good man. RDJ did a FANTASTIC Job capture both the Light and Dark elements of Tony Stark. I don’t think I need explain with Hiddleston did a good Job capturing the spirit of Loki. So, that Leaves Thor.
In the Comics, the basic Idea of Thor is that Thor is an Arrogant Superman. Like Superman, Thor is really strong, nearly invincible, and just Loves Humans and the Earth while not actually begin Human (his mom is the Earth Though). Unlike Superman Though, Thor often thinks too Highly of Himself and can act like a Total Dick at times. In most versions of the Humbling of Thor, Thor often does a really Dick move that causes his banishment. However, even with his arrogant Nature, Thor still loves cute things and still wants to protect stuff.
Hemsworth, although doing a Great Job bringing the Body of Thor (look at those muscles), IMO never did an excellent job bring the warmth of Thor. Or, at least wasn’t as Good at doing Thor as Hiddleston was at doing Loki. Hiddleston, through just trying to do a Good job on his character, ultimately brought all the focus away from Thor and onto Loki. This ended up with the reaction, Thor was bad, but Loki was Good. Because the Main focus, Thor, wasn’t done well, both Thor and TDW suffered. Add to that that Marvel really never knew what to do with the Thor IP and you have a general atmosphere of “The Thor Movies sucked, but I like the Loki scenes,” a sentiment that I honestly agree with.
Hiddleston NAILS every scenes he’s in with Both Movies, but everyone else ... eh? Both Odin and Jane’s actors are phone it in, it’s not their worst performances, but it’s hardly their best. Humbling of Thor is Interesting, but Loki’s side of the story is Far more interesting. I mean, Thor gets banished and immediately gets a girlfriend and a nice life. If Loki didn’t go Mad and attack the Town, it’s likely Thor would have gotten married to Jane, been an amazing Trophy Husband and had 3 kids while Loki would have been miserable on the Throne. That’s not an interesting story for Thor.
TDW suffered from production problems. A director for the movie pulled out last minute and the movie was crap, then they noticed that Loki was popular and they did some Last minute re-shoots with Joss Whedon and Tom Hiddleston. Now it’s a crap movie with sprinkles of Great scenes. Honestly, cut out a lot of the Earth stuff, bring the Focus onto to Loki and I swear there is a great movie in the TDW, I just know it.
So, with the First two Thor movies having ?Eh? Thor content, fans wished for a new better thing and they wanted Ragnorak to be that new better movie. These Fans also ignored anything that said otherwise.
However, because of Taika’s habit of attacking Fans, it’s likely that it’s going to be hard for him to keep his fanbase. Bad movies can work for a time, but eventually People will move on to better thing. Transformers was able to make 3-4 somewhat successful movies but the 5 bombed. The same thing will happen to Taika if he’s not careful. If his next movie doesn’t scratch the same itch that the First movie does, people will re-examine Ragnorak with a critical lens and then it will be popular to bash on his movie.
There is a reason why Tom Hiddleston’s Loki Fans have endured for so Long. It’s because Loki in Thor and TDW really resonated with us, far more than most other Marvel Properties. Because of it, Loki’s personality, his strength and his stories are far more relatable and resonate and any other Marvel Characters. It on Marvel to make us products we are willing to support, not attack us when we don’t want to buy their crap.
For me, I have don’t like how Marvel (and Disney in general) is treating their characters and their fans. Until their general atmosphere improves (or they die in hell) I am going to read Through Loki Comic until I find those few Great one (I have fund like 5-10 out of 60 that are worth anything), continue to read fanfics from authors who give a crap and continue to promote and make Fan-based stuff that encourages Loki stuff I do like.
Um.... Thanks for reading my long answer. Thanks for sending asks.
PS: Do you have any good Loki work to recommend?

new york’s very own mckenna asher was spotted on broadway street in jimmy choo romy pumps . your resemblance to taylor hill is unreal . according to tmz , you just had your twenty-first birthday bash . while living in nyc , you’ve been labeled as being materialistic , but also devoted . i guess being a taurus explains that . 3 things that would paint a better picture of you would be wrists covered in makeup swatches , a perfectly blended halo eye , and never being seen without perfectly manicured nails . ( i once made a fake account to expose information about myself just to get more followers ) & ( cis-female & she / her ) + ( lia , 19 , she / her , cst . )
hello , loves ! it’s me , lia ( i also play margo ) back again with another trash child that i’m hoping you’ll all love as much as i do <33 i first came up w kenna many years ago and haven’t had the opportunity to write for her in a long long time , so i’m really excited to bring her here ! as always , if you wanna plot go ahead and LIKE THIS and i’ll happily come love you down . if discord is more your jam , hmu there too @ 𝐛𝐛𝐧𝐨$𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥#1904 . love y’all !!! 💕💓💕

B I O G R A P H Y ↴
honestly i am........ too lazy to make this a nice bio so plz forgive me for settling on bullet points ,, but at least that’s less reading for you !!!!
mckenna’s father is from wales and works as a plastic surgeon for the rich and fabulous and her mother is from new york and works a beautician and stylist for celebrities . together they had 5 children in total , the kid in the very middle being kenna . the family spent most of her childhood living in wales before moving to new york just before mckenna started high school
all of her siblings are really talented . it must be in their genes or something to have an affinity for the arts . her older brother is in a popular band . her older sister is a principal dancer . her younger sister is an incredible painter . and her younger brother is like six so he’s still coming into his own but there’s no doubt that he’ll be a prodigy at something
and what about mckenna ??? well she tried following in her brother’s footsteps by learning a bunch of instruments but none of them clicked . after that she tried to take dance classes with her sister but it was clear to see that she had two-left feet . she could barely draw a perfect circle , so painting like her younger sister was out of the question too . eventually she tried to pursue an acting career , auditioning for tv shows and movies but never booking anything more than a handful of commercials
so she spent a majority of her life feeling pretty inadequate compared to her siblings . she just wanted to be good at something , anything really . and she wanted to be praised for it . luckily , she eventually found her thing . though it was sorta unconventional : kenna figured out that she’s good at makeup . it’s basically an art form in itself and since she had the time on her hands to practice , she got pretty good at it
she started posting her looks on social media , gaining a little bit of attention on her instagram and later even starting a youtube channel ( at the time it was called pinkglitter2234 bc she was like 13 and cringey ). doing makeup and making youtube videos was her new favorite pass time and pretty much all she did throughout high school . kids in her school started recognizing her as “the the girl who talks funny and makes youtube videos” ,, so that’s pretty cool ig
it really wasn’t until her senior year that her channel gained a serious following . by the time she graduated she worked her way up to 1m subscribers and just a few hundred thousand away from having 1m on instagram too . CRAZY . and since youtube had become a serious job to her that she wanted to continue doing , she figured that she’d take a gap year off just to focus on that and building her personal brand . so she moved out and got an apartment in the city , paid for all by herself ( though mommy and daddy’s money certainly helped furnish it with all her lavish stuff ) and got to WORK
that ONE gap year turned into a gap... three years ??? she never applied to university and honestly she doesn’t plan to anytime soon ! her social media career has never been more poppin’ tbh . she has like over 8m subscribers on her main channel ( now called makeupmckenna ) and just a little bit under that on her vlog channel . she’s had various partnerships with different makeup brands , colourpopcosmetics , morphe , and lancôme just to name a few . on her channel she also does fashion / styling videos , which has gained her attention from several brands that have sent her pieces to promote and invited her to see their shows at fashion week and whatnot . big money moves basically !!
okay now for her secret : basically ,, kenna is hard-working don’t get me wrong , but she’s also obsessed with increasing her following and is willing to do anything if it means signal boosting herself and becoming more successful . so basically , at one point she made a fake account that posed as one of her “haters” “exposing” her-- and since no publicity is bad publicity , it got more people talking about her and following her . she even made a sob story youtube video in response to the “hate” she was getting and the rumours that were sparking because of it . the account has since been deleted but that doesn’t mean that the screenshots of the rumours aren’t still circulating the internet . it’s been a few years since the “scandal” but that doesn’t mean that it still doesn’t get talked about from time to time
P E R S O N A L I T Y & F U N F A C T S ↴
personality-wise : kenna is a sweetheart ! at least on the outside ! like she lowkey has selfish motives sometimes when it comes to gaining online popularity , but outside of social media she is genuine and goofy and a good friend i swear . would give you the designer clothes off her back if you’re close to her . also affectionate because she’s from a big family that actually has a healthy relationship with each other ( minus kenna’s minor jealousy she used to harbor as a kid... she’s kinda grown out of it now as a young-adult who’s successful in her own right ) so she loves to love . super materialistic though . loves shiny things and owning the newest trendy stuff . definitely thinks that money can buy happiness and she’s super stubborn so you cannot convince her otherwise . loves attention , will do just about anything to get it but if it doesn’t fit her “pristine girl next door” image then she’ll have to do it in secret . and since she has made a name for herself as being “innocent” , she doesn’t party too much . just not a big fan of that lifestyle
just bc she never went to college DOES NOT MEAN that my girl is dumb .. she actually likes to keep learning new things by constantly reading and trying out new skills . she’s v much a jack of all trades but a master at none . minus her ability to beat her face and talk to a camera lol
she’s fluent in both english and welsh , and used to have an accent when she was younger but has since taught herself to sound super american . she thinks it makes her more appealing idk
very family orientated and keeps in close contact with her siblings and parents despite the fact that they live all around the world doing their own things
has collabed with loads of famous peeps not just for youtube videos but getting to do their makeup for gigs . she’s gotten to a point in her career where she’s able to bridge the gap between influencer and professional artist y’know what i mean ??
loves dogs . has a dog named tate who frequently makes appearances in her posts :)))
consumes an unhealthy amount of caffeine daily
doesn’t know how to drive . doesn’t even have a license or anything and who knows if she’ll ever learn tbh
she’s bisexual but has only come out to her close friends and family . hasn’t outwardly said anything to her following but they can probably make assumptions considering who she’s been seen getting close to . like it’s not a big deal to her , she likes who she likes , but also doesn’t think it’s anyone else’s business besides whoever she’s dating / sleeping with at the time
W A N T E D C O N N E C T I O N S ↴
EDIT : i have in fact made a wc page so peep that here if ya want ! xox

A RANDOM AMERICAN’S FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF THE EUROVISION 2020 ENTRIES
Australia -- Idk what’s up with the clown makeup but I support you
Lithuania -- Mildly weird, very nice. I dig it.
Norway -- Look, we all know you were never going to top last year’s entry but you could have like. Tried.
Belgium -- Y’know how in Hitchhiker’s Guide they say that “Belgium” is the worst swear word in the whole galaxy? This is why.
Spain -- Why did you put glitter on those poor dancers. Do you know how hard it is to clean off glitter.
Ukraine -- Getting flashbacks to Poland’s entry from last year. I like the Audrey Hepburn-looking lady’s dress.
Poland -- You’d think such an emotional song would give me an emotion but nah
Great Britain -- Congratulations, your streak of bland, boring entries remains unbroken
France -- Also bland but they added some French and a lot of lights in the hopes you wouldn’t notice
Croatia -- This feels like it should be played at a dramatic moment in a movie
Latvia -- I don’t know what’s going on or what they’re wearing but you do you Latvia
Estonia -- I kept zoning out tbh. There was a fog machine and some candles.
Germany -- I didn’t know they let twelve-year-olds compete at Eurovision
Belarus -- So we’re all just doing weird dances this year. Cool cool cool
Georgia -- Is feeling insecure and shouty
Switzerland -- This feels like something France would do if they weren’t busy being England.
The Netherlands -- It’s fine, I guess. Of course, I thought “it’s fine” about their last entry and they ended up winning, so what do I know
Israel -- FINALLY something with ENERGY
Austria -- Wasn’t sure at first, but I warmed up to it a little
Ireland -- This year’s Empowerment Anthem literally goes “na na na-na na” at the haters and honestly I respect that.
Serbia -- I don’t know if this is actually a song about the Terminator but that is what I choose to believe.
Bulgaria -- Why is everyone so sad this year? @ Europe are you okay?
Slovenia -- Cool plants
Sweden -- THE BACKUP SINGERS FROM LAST YEAR ARE BACK???
Cyprus -- I feel you, my dude
Finland -- I was gonna joke that the guy’s suit was more interesting than the song, but honestly I kinda like the song.
Iceland -- Please keep it up. I am DELIGHTED with your weird ‘80s throwback
North Macedonia -- It wants to be Shut Up and Dance but doesn’t quite get there
San Marino -- This is the second year in a row we had a song featuring BDSM, is this a record?
Malta -- Catchy
Portugal -- Because hey, if they could win with a slow Portuguese-language song while wearing a giant shirt once before, surely they can do it again.
Moldova -- Ma’am please don’t roll around in the dirt, that dress looks expensive
Azerbaijan -- You have my attention.
Albania -- I swear I’ve heard this exact song five times this year already.
Romania -- I was just starting to appreciate that pun when “fake news” slapped me RIGHT the hell out of the song.
Greece -- That wasn’t just a music video, that was a whole dang movie in three minutes.
Czech Republic -- I have no idea what he’s saying but it’s 1000 percent better than last year.
Russia -- This year’s WTF Award goes to Russian Aqua.
Romania -- Boots!!
Italy -- Someone please help this poor man, he is trapped in a sandstorm.
Armenia -- Hardcore epilepsy warning
