Will work for food
DP x DC An idea that's probably been done before but... here it is again.
~~
It was not an ideal setting for this. Out in the open, debris being their only cover. An unnatural storm closing in. The area had been evacuated but there was still no telling how many civilian eyes could be on them at this very moment.
The League was scattered, making this current group a touch at odds while away from the majority of their normal teams.
Batman stood with Red Robin, Flash, Superboy, and Raven. It wasn’t a bad lineup, but things were getting dicy.
A monster had appeared, a creature foreign to most of them. With it came storms of all kinds, winds, hail, rain. It was a mess but there was nothing natural about it. The hail shattered the pavement. The winds were picking buildings up off their foundations. The blue lightning went without saying. The ice was changing the terrain. The temperature changes were disorienting to most of the heroes.
Worse was the fact that this creature seemed to be able to duplicate itself, spreading the chaos out to a much wider area. They were having trouble even touching the thing let alone capturing it.
“Are you sure about this?” Batman asked, a deep frown etched into his face as he watched Raven mark out a summoning circle.
“It’s the only idea i have.” She said bluntly, shivering from the sudden chill. “That thing is not of this realm. We need something else not of this realm to subdue it.”
“I hear what you’re saying but summoning a demon to deal with a demon still leaves us with a demon.” Flash said, seeing the flaw in this plan.
“Unless you know this one personally or something.” Red Robin offered, his voice exhausted.
“It’s not a demon.” Raven said, tone irritated but it wasn’t like any of them were having a good day. “Depending on how you want to look at it, it’s far worse than a demon. That thing came from the Infinite Realm.”
Superboy just grunted once, watching her put the finishing touches on her spell circle. “You said that in a tone that said it was in capital letters. What’s the Infinite Realm?”
“Bad news and something we shouldn’t freaking touch.” Raven answered swiftly. She stood, eyes going over her work.
“Then what the hell are we doing?” Flash asked quickly, all of them tensed as the wind started to pick up again. If a hurricane was thrown at them, there was little they’d be able to do about it.
“Raven.” Batman’s voice was serious. “You’re sure?”
“It’s all i’ve got.” She repeated. “This is not a problem this realm was meant to handle on short notice. We need help.”
There were several things in that one statement he didn’t like. “Who are you summoning?”
Raven was looking rather pale herself. “The Ghost King. The King of the Infinite Realm. I’ve heard word that he can be bargained with so… we’re gonna give it a shot.”
She didn’t wait for permission from anyone else to throw in their two cents on the matter. She threw her hands out, alien words no one else understood on her lips. The chant repeated and the summoning circle began to glow a green that the present Bats didn’t care for.
It crept up the walls of the summoning circle in oddly pretty patterns before a gaping void opened on the ground. Silently, a figure rose into the circle from that same void. The king was smaller than they’d been imagining the last minute or two. He was human shaped and sized, a black crown floating several inches over his head. He was a wispy figure, face hidden by a large hood but there were strands of white hair floating around their shadowed face. He’d had nothing but a smoky looking tail when he’d first appeared but that had now split into solid looking legs.
Given his size, he seems like a young adult, but it was hard to say for certain without seeing his face.
“Woah.” Red Robin muttered, Superboy agreeing with the sentiment.
“Heroes?” The Ghost King wondered, voice soft and lethargic. “Interesting.”
Raven bowed her head in a show of respect. “Your Majesty. I apologize for the abrupt summons. We have a dire situation and are willing to make a deal for your help.”
“A deal…” His voice echoed gently. He spoke as if raising his voice would shatter the very air around them. “That’s not something to choose lightly. What do you want from me?”
Raven swallowed, her body rigid with nerves. She was almost relieved when Batman took over.
“As i understand it, we have a being from your realm here in ours. We are underprepared to deal with such destruction and-”
“Of my realm?” The King interrupted softly, head tipped a little as his attention turned to Batman. “Who?”
Flash laughed nervously. “We’re not on a first name basis or anything but the guy seems to control the weather.” He pointed up and the sky above them was darkening the longer they spoke.
The King made a noise like he’d clucked his tongue and it struck all of them as a very human kind of gesture despite his title.
“I can handle that. Your deal?”
Raven inhaled again, this obviously being the part she was dreading. “Blood, i have the blood of the Demon Lord Trigon-”
“Pass.”
That drew everyone up short. The others didn’t exactly understand the significance of Raven offering her blood but it clearly wasn’t something she’d expected to be declined so quickly.
“My soul then….” Raven muttered.
“Raven, no!” Superboy hissed. “The fuck!”
Batman was also eyeing her unhappily. “Absolutely not. You are not Constantine.”
Fortunately for the heroes, each of which was ready to revolt for such a barter, the Ghost King waved the thought away.
“Nah.” He tugged on his hood a little and Batman realized he was likely brushing away one of those white strands of hair from his face. “That’s the thing about being the King of the Infinite Realm. Souls come to me one way or another in time. No need to preorder them.”
Raven’s shoulders sagged, eyes shifting as she rapidly tried to think of something else she could offer.
“What do you want?” Red Robin asked before anyone else could say something stupid. “You’re the one that’s going to fight this threat for us. What’s a good deal?”
The King turned to him and stared. They could only assume he was contemplating his answer when he hummed quietly. “Food.”
“Wha…” Flash muttered.
The Ghost King just nodded. “Food from your realm. It’s been…a long time since i’ve eaten.”
“Really? Like we could go grab you a burger and that would be cool?” Superboy asked, a touch suspicious, but the King just nodded.
“Deal.” Raven said before anyone would make it worse. “A meal for returning this threat back to your realm.”
The King nodded again, and each of them backed up several paces when the walls to the summoning circle broke apart and the King stepped out. For the briefest of moments he seemed to nearly stumble under the gravity of actually ‘walking’ but he got over it quickly enough.
“Can we offer you any assistance?” Batman asked.
The King shook his head. “No.” He wandered off towards the storm, the floating crown on top of his head seeming a little larger. He moved confidently and with purpose. “Oh Vortex…” He called, walking into the winds.
He sounded young, but all of them agreed immediately that they never wanted to hear him beckoning them the same way. His tone was dangerous, and he walked right through a car that had been flung in his direction.
“Cool.” Red Robin muttered.
“Simmer down, Red.” Superboy muttered. All of them wanted to follow, but with the unstable weather and a literal Ghost King wandering about, staying out of the way felt like the best option. Of course that didn’t mean they weren’t dying of curiosity.
Flash moved to stand beside Raven, making sure she wasn’t about to topple over because of the power it must have taken to summon a king from another dimension. “You good?”
“Yeah.” she breathed out a sigh. “Honestly, this was an unforeseen best case scenario. You should really go get that food for him.”
Batman moved to her otherside, hearing the voices over comms noticing a shift in what was happening. “You think it will be over that fast?”
“Yes.”
“Well-” Flash looked up at the sky that was rapidly clearing. “Yep. I’ll be right back.” He was gone in a blur but it was hard to believe a change was happening so quickly.
“Has it even been a full minute?” Superboy asked. “I mean, damn…”
“Someone better have been recording visuals.” Red Robin muttered. “We are absolutely missing something amazing.”
“He’s the King of the infinite Realm.” Raven said. “It’s the realm that connects every other realm and it is as the name implies… infinite. He rules it. I don’t even think Trigon would dare mess with him.”
Batman had his arms crossed, still listening to the amazed chatter over comms. “Should it be suspicious that all he wants is food?”
“He made the deal.” Raven shrugged. “He could have asked for anything. Literally.” She stopped speaking when the hooded king returned. He was floating this time though only a foot or two off the ground. He didn’t look tired or dirty or anything.
Just the same ethereal otherness he’d arrived with. “Done.” He announced.
“What uh- happened to the guy?” Superboy asked, pointing vaguely at where the storm had been raging.
The Ghost King just dug into his cape and pulled out…a thermos. “Souped him. He’s gonna have a little time out.”
“Oh my god, i have so many questions.” Red Robin whispered.
The thermos was put away and Batman was suppressing his own urge to ask a dozen questions over what just occurred. They’d been struggling with the Infinite creature for hours and countless lives had no doubt been altered. Clean up would take weeks if not months and this Ghost King handled it in minutes.
“My food?”
“On the way.” Raven said immediately. “Flash is one of the fastest men on the planet. He’ll be right back.”
The King nodded and looked around before moving to a pile of bricks that had once been a fence. He sat down and waited, somehow looking regal among the wreckage.
“So… I’m Red Robin.” Batman looked up again when his son was sliding closer to introduce himself. “Superboy, Raven, Batman.” He gestured and the King’s hood shifted as he followed Red Robin’s introduction of them. “Is there something we can call you or is your Majesty the most appropriate?”
The Ghost King sat in silence for a moment before reaching up to lower his hood. The shadows that had hidden his face disappeared revealing a young man only a little older than Tim. Maybe around Jason’s age. His hair was indeed white, and was braided down the nape of his neck save for the tufts of hair that floated around his face.
His skin was pale, and Batman thought it might have been gray or even blue in different light. His ears were pointed and his eyes were a haunting green.
With the hood out of the way, the crown lowered to sit on his head.
“Phantom.” He finally answered. “You can call me Phantom.”
Raven bowed her head again and Red Robin beamed. “Thank you for helping us! We literally couldn’t have done it without you.”
Phantom nodded again but without his hood to shield him there was something shy about the action.
The Flash reappeared in a cloud of dust, two bags of fast food in one hand and a collection of drinks under the other arm. “I got a little of everything!” He announced. “Got some burgers and some chicken nuggets and fries and onion rings. There’s one of those little apple pies in here somewhere too.
Phantom took the bags with a small smile and set them beside him so he could go through them. Superboy helped with the drinks, setting everything down so Phantom could have his pick. There were three different sodas, a lemonade, and a water.
It wasn’t fancy and probably wasn’t a fair trade of a meal for his services but he didn’t seem disappointed.
In a flash of rings made of light, Phantom transformed. The otherness of him was still there, but instead of a noble king of a realm, a young…very living human was in his place. Black hair instead of white was still braided down his neck and the strands around his face hung limp instead of floating.
Those eerie green eyes were now blue but that– oddly enough– was not the most startling thing about his transformation. He wore a large hoodie and jeans but his feet were bare.
His hands and feet were almost skeletal, and his face was gaunt and starved looking. His eyes were slightly sunken and his skin was a sickly kind of pale.
He looked emaciated, but there was the smallest of smiles on his face when he ate one fry and then another. He took a sip from every drink offered to him and then took a bite out of the burger.
They couldn’t help but stand there and watch, all of them transfixed over what they were seeing.
Phantom took two more bites before wrapping up the rest of his burger and placing it back in the bag.
“Not to your liking?” Flash asked, voice small.
Phantom licked his fingers and shook his head. “No, it was good. I’m just full. I’ll take it with me and eat it later when i’m hungry again.”
Batman could only imagine the size of his stomach. Stopping now was probably the healthiest thing he could have done if he wanted to keep the food down. He cleared his throat. “Are you alright?”
“Mhmm.” Phantom nodded, the rings of light appearing again. He was back in his healthier looking ghostly form. That was an oxymoron, wasn’t it? A healthy ghost form…
“You’re still alive.” Raven whispered, stuck in her shock. “The living shouldn’t… The Infinite Realm isn’t…”
Phantom’s lips tipped up in a smile. “You’re right, but wrong. I’m both. I’m dead. I’m alive. I’m balance.” He paused for a moment. “I haven’t been in a living realm for a while… guess i’ve been neglecting that side of me. Thanks for the food, it was a good deal.”
He was gathering up the bags he clearly planned to take with him.
“You should come back.” Red Robin spat the words out, likely before giving them any real thought. “I’ll take you to lunch. I’ll take you like… all the time. I am not going to pretend to know what you have going on but… shit, Agent A would disown me if i did not offer to feed you.”
Phantom looked cold briefly. “Agent… A…?”
Red Robin winced, “Code name for my grandfather. He’s an amazing cook.”
“Red Robin.” Batman scowled at him.
“Oh, what? He’s gonna give you the look for you not being the one to offer.” Red Robin said unapologetically, but the explanation had Phantom softening again. “What do you say? Lunch? Do i have to summon you?”
“Jesus, Red. Let him actually decline or accept.” Superboy was snickering.
Phantom looked between them, the confusion on his face clearing up after a beat. A piece of paper appeared between his fingers. It had some kind of squiggle on it none of them could read at a glance. He handed it over to Red Robin.
“Have that on you, say my name. I’ll find you.” Phantom said. “I should…eat again.”
“We…appreciate you helping us.” Raven added quickly, determined that they make a good impression.
Phantom’s look grew warmer again. “It was fun.” With his bags and drinks in his arms, he wandered back over to the summoning circle. “I don’t mind helping when the trouble is severe and you were right. This particular problem was mine to clean up. Sorry about him, by the way. Vortex is an asshole.”
Superboy and Flash both snorted. “Thanks anyway.”
Phantom nodded at them again, floating in the middle of the circle before his eyes glowed that bright, toxic green again. He slipped inside the void and disappeared as quickly as he arrived, the remains of the summoning circle erasing itself.
“So… That happened.” Flash muttered, not sure how they were gonna put this in a report to the rest of the League members. Batman wasn’t so sure either.
“I can’t believe you were just hitting on the Ghost King, Red.” Superboy laughed. “I mean… Lunches?”
“What?”
Raven was on her phone. “I am already telling Nightwing.”
“What!? Hey!” Red Robin was looking between them. “I wasn’t hitting on him. You leave Wing out of this!”
“No way.”
“You asked him on a date, man!” Superboy grinned. “All the titans are going to know about this in the next hour.”
“You guys suck!” Red Robin growled, his face a flame.
Batman just sighed. “There’s clean up to do. Get to work.”
He definitely did not need to think about his son’s audacity, coming onto a King of an entire realm. Where did he even learn that kind of behavior?

Ghost king danny goes on a reincarnation vacation to the dc universe by ClockWork, he ends up as a mortician/coroner and chats up the dead and is super creepy and has to go to Arkham to claim a body there (idk how-) and ends up freaking out the prisoners but also makes some friends and is just all around having a good time and Batman is concerned why this guy just feels weird and why Jason likes him enough to call him a friend
"This is Daniel Fenton." Bruce starts clicking the button on his wrist computer so an image of a young man in his early twenties appears on the hologram. "He is the mortician working at Gotham Funeral Home and Crematorium. Recently, he has been the talk of the underworld for his actions in Arkham."
"Actions?" Tim asks, reading over the files that Bruce had downloaded into their own wrist computers. He pauses at the old-school photo of Daniel Fenton smiling shyly at the camera. Two rows below him is Jason's equally bashful smile when he was fourteen.
Huh.
"A patient was found dead in her room. Daniel went over to claim the body, but while there, he made a few of the inmates uncomfortable." Bruce pulls up a security camera footage of Fenton strolling down the hall, pushing the cart with the body covered by a white sheet.
The way his lips are shaped tells the Bats he whistles even if there is no sound.
It looks normal- even if he seems just a tad too cheerful for picking up a dead person- until he passes by Two-Face's room. The man flipped his quarter and then started shouting at Fenton.
They couldn't make out his words, but whatever the mortician said had Two-face laughing so hard he fell to the ground.
Then, the camera glitched as if there were some kind of interference. They watched it clear up with Fenton walking away and Two-Face sitting on the ground, staring at a wall with a blank expression.
"What happened?" Dick asks.
"It's unclear what Fenton did to him, but Harvey has been unresponsive since. This was three days ago."
"Shit," Steph swears, which pretty much sums up everyone's thoughts.
"Yeah, Danny has that effect on people," Jason speaks up, shrugging his shoulder at the looks he receives. "What? Danny has always been weird, but I doubt he is dangerous."
"You are acquainted with Fenton?" Damian asks, and Jason shrugs again.
"We were in the same graduating class. I spoke to him more after I died and came back, but I wouldn't meet up with him for a drink or anything."
"You don't drink."
"Exactly, Timbos."
Bruce clears his throat. "In any case, I want you all to keep an eye on him."
"B, seriously, the guy is harmless. He cried the other day over a book character's death-"
"How would you know that?" Cass cuts Jason off, a teasing smile on her face even though her eyes are narrowed with suspicion.
"We're in the same book club. Not another word." Jason grunts.
Dick, who has been staring at the class photo that Tim has seen, snaps his figures. "I know him! He's the weird kid who told people he was the reincarnation of the Ghost King on vacation! Claimed he was a powerful afterlife entity. Didn't you get caught with him behind the bleachers, Jason-"
"Shut it Dickface!" Jason screeches face a bright red suddenly. " That was one time, and I was fourteen!"
Bruce's frown is suddenly more profound. "I had forgotten about that particular detention. Jason, are you compromised for this mission?"
"What!? I am not!" The second oldest yelled, balling his hands "In fact, I bet I could get Danny to tell me what he did!"
"Good. Go get that done." Dick waves his hand at him in a dismissive motion. "Don't come back without the little crazy mortician's number."
Tim smiles as Jason explodes, but his eyes never leave Heavy Dent's image on the security camera. There is something about the way his eyes are hazy that set bells off in his head.
He is sure he sees flashes of green on Dent's pupils. He saw similar flashes in a file inside the League of Assassins while searching for Bruce.
It was the warning of ghosts.
Was Fenton's teenage lies not so fatuous after all? He'll have to investigate.

Hello! I saw that wind breaker requests are open!
May I request some fluff for umemiya, suo, sakura and togame please?
I you could please write about how they would react if they saw their crush crying because they were worried about boys injuries please?
Thank you!
YESYESYES SO CUTTEEE!!! Thank you so so much for the request sweets!!! <333
Characters: Hajime Umemiya, Suo Hayato, Sakura Haruka, Jo Togame x reader (GN! since not specified)
Patch me up
HAJIME UMEMIYA
He usually never got this injured
but the gang that had used you and a few other vendors as hostages had knives and bats that had bruised and sliced at his, and his gangs skin.
After the fight, and after he looked over Bofurin to check for injuries, he quickly went up to check on you and some other vendors
Tears stained your cheeks as he fast walked to you, urgency in each step as he grew closer to you
You both locked eyes, and in an instant, you ran towards him, throwing yourself into his chest and wrapping your arms around him, tightly squeezing before tears restarted flowing down your cheeks.
your tears seeped into his white shirt, that was stained with red due to the scratches and slices on his skin
He wraps his arms around you as you sob, mumbling about how your safe and that he's fine
he brings you home, were you patch him up with sniffles and cuddle him for comfort, where he blushes lightly.
Your hold was nice, and warm, and it was so comforting
He felt sorry that you had to experience such a traumatizing situation, and that you had to see him fight and be serious
he closed his eyes, sitting on the couch as the thoughts of today rush through his mind, staying awake in as images of your terror filled face stayed imprinted under his eyelids.
that day, he did not sleep, even in the comfort of your embrace.
SUO HAYATO
he barely even gets hurt in general, so that person he was fighting would have to be very fast and diligent in their movements to even be able to touch him
He had been fighting a group with the other windbreaker first years, and the gang leader had been intently watching them, learning their steps and movements.
Suo was the first one who finished fighting the underlings, not even breaking a sweat, and he was the one who decided to fight the leader
since the leader had watched them, he had learned how to counter his fighting style and more
it took him of guard and made him hesitate in a movement which the gang leader used to his advantage and struck him, cutting his cheek in the process due to him falling on the ground before he jumped back up and fought back
it didn't come to mind until he finished the fight with the help of Sakura that the scene was right in front of you place
so after the fight, you running down the stairs of your place and basically shoving your face into his chest and you basically fall on your knees, loud sobs resonating in his ears
tears fell from your eyes like waterfalls, arms tightening at his waist and fists wrinkling his gakuran
he laughs as he pats your head, telling you to not worry, and that he was fine, a blush on his cheeks
he enjoyed that you worried so much for him, enough to sob at the sight of him 'endangering' himself to help the town.
SAKURA HARUKA
Get used to it
he loves fighting and getting injured is a part of it
its mostly for the thrill of hurt for him
but seeing you freak out about his bloody nose, bruised knuckles, and scratched face makes him tense
his bright red face basically blended with the redness of his blood LMAO
he's so awkward about it as you bandage his fists, patch up his scraped up elbows and cheeks, and clean him up of dirt
big crocodile tears flow down your cheeks as you clean him up, loud sniffles making him look at you
the tears just kept falling as you rubbed your face to dry them up, but they just kept dribbling down your flushed face and soaking up on his black pants as you sat, kneeling before him on the floor of your place after you patch up his scuffed up knee
he makes a face before standing up, making you look up at him as he grabbed you and made you stand up
he then held you close, holding the back of you head to his collar bone with one hand as the other wrapped around your back and awkwardly patted it
he was at least trying to comfort you, and it was working.
JO TOGAME
it was during a festival
a gang had shown up randomly and decided they were going to start some chaos
so they started to robbing food and drinks, destroying the stalls, and even pushing around some vendors
you had been helping out your friends parents in their stall since your friend got injured and their parents were busy selling their sweets as you kept an eye on the hot sugar when you heard the chaos happening a two stalls down
the stall besides yours was being helped by Jo Togame, who had been watching you from the corner of his eye the whole time, a small blush on his face
Togame had hear the chaos happening and asked the vendor to be able to check out what was happening, which the vendor quickly agreed
The male quickly slips on his Shishitoren jacket, the clacking of his geta sandals being loud as he walks towards the ruckus of the opposing gangs show of power
what he got hurt with wasn't an injury from a punch or a kick, but a few scrapes came from how harshly he landed when he tackled the gangs leader, knees sliding on the floor and ripping his loose, monk pants
you had turned off the heat on the sugar and made the last few sweets to be sold before focusing on the fight happening, your friends parents having started to freak out, trying to take care of the elderly around you
you weren't too worried about the people around, more worried for Togame, with how he slid in the rough, rocky ground
the sound of screams and punches were loud, but you could only watch as Togame slowly stands up and tells the gang to scram
you quickly grab the first aid kit that was under you friend's parents stall and rush forward, tears brimming your waterline as you jogs up to him
you grab his sleeve, pulling him to a seat and cleaning his knees and knuckles
you blink, and suddenly your crying, sniffling
Togame blushes, not knowing what to do other than to hold you close
and so that's what he does
he stands and walks away with you, holding onto your sleeve this time and dragging you to a secluded space
the festival was then canceled for the rest of the night
but both you and Togame stick close to each other, looking up at the dark sky that is luminated by the stars and the moon

Yall don’t understand how obsessed I am with Danny messing with the Justice League. Like just pranking them mad wild. Or “haunting” them.
Maybe it starts as a mistake. Someone was getting close to him and he just vanished. Maybe he was walking around one of their cities cause he wanted to “see how a real hero does it” but tried to stay out of the way.
Hes following Superman and doesn’t realise hes been had. Superman keeps seeing this odd child on the edge of his vision. It’s only weird because of how quickly he is traveling. He should be followed like this. So he tests it out and flys off to somewhere far off, but secluded. Edge of some farm land would work. Trying to not give it away he doesn’t make a show of looking for the boy. He then spots him. His eyes slightly glowing as he stands in the edge of the woods. Clark focused on the boy and hears slight breaths but nothing else. Which he should have realised sooner was wrong.
He returned to the team to report this odd being following him. To also warn everyone else to be on look out just incase.
Weirdly enough it was the Flash who noticed him next. Even weirder was that he could never get close. Even with his speed which was alarming.
Cyborg started seeing the kid too. He tried using cameras to get a better look at him but nothing ever showed up. Always missing was the boy from the video. Sometimes the whole video would get distort.
Wonder Woman probably got the closest as she used a fight to get “thrown” in his direction. She got close enough to see worry about her. He seemed so concerned and like he was going to step in until he met her gaze. A whole new kind of fear crossed his features. Then he was gone.
Everyone of the main team (and even some not) reporting in of spotting the kid except for Batman. And he looked. He tried everything to see if he was being followed like the rest but nothing. He read their reports on their encounters and tried to emulate it but never saw the boy. Maybe it was all a big prank being pulled on him? He couldn’t rule it out. Still he kept up constant watch.
Then one night he was out and got into a fight. Distracted by looking for the kid he got messy. Or maybe the criminals got desperate but he didn’t notice the rocket launcher being targeted on him in time and it fired. Only then did he notice it. No time to fully get out of the way he braced for the worst. When all of a sudden a body slammed into him shoving him out of the way of the blast. They rolled onto the ground. Bruce quickly recovered and looked for his saviour. On the ground, blown slightly to his left by the explosion was a black haired teen in a white t-shirt. Before he could move the boy groaned and looked right at Bruce. The haunting blue eyes meeting his even with the mask in the way the boy knew just where to look. He was about to speak when the boys eyes went wide with fear and then nothing. The boy just vanished into this air. Bruce didn’t have much time to be stunned by this as the thugs before started to cheer, thinking they had finished off the Bat. So he went to make quick work of them before any could get away. Well now he knows hes being followed too
Danny just freaking out about Batman seeing his face. Turns out he never followed Batman unless fully invisible. All he wanted was to see how “real” heros did it. And it had been helping him with his fighting. To see how the pros are. He was always worried the “worlds greatest detective” would figure him out though so he stayed hidden. Also maybe hes a bit of a fan. I made Wonder Woman get the closest cause shes his fav probably.
#danny phantom#dp x dc#how do I tag this one lads#it’s been so long#do I tag the justice league?#idk who cares I guess lmao#im obsessed#like I love dp x dc#plus I have been dying to post for yall#miss yall so much

Haunted car au part 9
Previous Masterpost
“O, please tell me someone is close by?” Red Robin hissed into his comm.
“Batman and Signal are on the way, 6 blocks out.”
“Neat, see if they can use the 109th st entrance, I will try to lead my goons that way.”
“Rerouting their gps, stay safe RR.”
Tim wasn't sure how to stay safe with a bullet wound in his leg, and a few grazes across his body. Part of the job he supposes. He wasn't sure which god or entity was enjoying his struggle, but he would not hesitate to smack them in the face with his bō. Tim took a small breather after losing his followers for a moment. His leg has a hole, his arms couldn't keep a strong grip on his grapple, not that it really mattered. A goon got an extremely lucky shot and destroyed the thing. So, grounded, with a barely functioning leg, and about 15 goons, and if the leaders of the group didn't flee already, then them too, looking for him. Not great odds. Oracle said Batman and Signal were on their way, and hopefully heading to the street closest to him that would work for some form of ambush.
“I'll go out a bit early, they won't be expecting it. Nah, they only set up to catch Signal, you know, the meta. The meta that can all but shadow step like a freaking d&d character. Such a great plan Tim.” Tim had started to mutter to himself as he attempted to tie on a better bandage to his leg than the slap dash one he did while on the move. He was just done securing it when a goon appeared.
“I found some blood over here!”
Tim almost screamed expletives on par with Jason or Duke, but he had some self preservation.
“ETA, hopefully it's NOW?!” Tim growled onto the comms.
“We are set up Red Robin, bring them through.” Tim could have cried in relief at Batman's voice, but he had some goons to lead.
Tim ran, not bothering to hide as he did. Luckily the goons did not think about surrounding the alley he was in, and they followed blindly into the bat's trap. He trusted that Bruce and Duke could handle the group, and limped to the Batmobile. It wasn't until Tim got to the driver's side passenger door did the universe have one last laugh at him.
“Well, well, we'll. Let's make a deal, little red bird.” Out of all the people to corner Tim, it had to have been the wannabe leader of the small time gang.
“Depends, is the deal you turn yourself in?” Tim automatically snarked.
“Nah, open the Batmobile, or I shoot you here.” The man sneered.
“Fine, fine.” Tim opened the driver's door and scooted away, his hands away from his sides.
“Good, keep backing up Red.”
Once Red Robin was far enough for the man, he turned and went to get into the car, only for the door to close on the man repeatedly. Tim could not help but just watch as the car kept smacking the guy until he managed to get into the seat. Unfortunately for the gang leader his hand was not fast enough and got slammed between the door and frame. Based on the crack and responding scream, the hand was very much broken. With a last open and close, the engine started, and the Batmobile drove straight into the group of goons and vigilantes.
Tim watched in morbid curiosity as Batman and Signal heard the car roaring towards them. Watched as they grappled upwards with just a small moment from them getting run over. Watched as 3 goons did not have time to move out of the way and got tossed onto the hood, only to slide off at the jerky stop of the car. It wasn't until Batman barked “Report.” over the comms did Tim snap out of his daze.
“The leader of the gang got into the Batmobile, and proceeded to try to run you guys over.” Tim slowly responded. “He held me at gunpoint and I couldn't move fast enough to do anything but let him. How did the failsafes fail at keeping him from driving?” Tim's voice petered out with the question.
The car door then slammed open and the leader fell out of the seat, and tried to scramble as far from the car as he could. It didn't take long for Batman to grab the man for questioning.
“Hey man, you good to move?” Tim startled when Duke appeared in front of him.
“Ya, ya. I have a GSW to my right calf, got grazed a few times in different places, possibly going into shock.” Tim dutifully reported.
“Got it, up and at ‘em.”
Duke carefully walked Tim to the Batmobile and settled him into the back seats, tightened the bandage on his leg, and put bandages on his other wounds. It wasn't until Duke went to go help Batman clean up and triage the remaining goons did he say something strange.
“Stay put, Red Robin. Keep him safe ok?” With the second request, Duke patted the driver's seat and left him alone in the car.
“What?”

Could I request hcs for the batboys poly reaction to a reader who likes to chill in really weird/dangerous places (for example on a chandelier or something). I think it would be really funny and chaotic
Hang out spots poly!bat boys hc
Warnings: none
The boys always thought it was odd you’d always sit on the floor instead of a chair when relaxing
But they didn’t know any of your fun hang out spots, just the mildly odd ones
One time Cassian found you reading and snacking on a shelf in the pantry
Az found you laying on a bookcase once
Azriel is usually impressed by how you can climb or get into odd spots
Him and Cass always leave you there unless they feel like you’re in danger
“As Long as you’re comfortable sweetheart, that’s all that matters.” Cassian would say with a smile
Not a hangout spot but, you like to slide down the railing to get downstairs
One of the first times you couldn’t stop yourself so you went flying off the end and Rhys caught you
Rhys had given you a stern look saying, “be careful. I don’t want call Madja because you broke your neck sliding down the stairs.”
Rhys was always more cautious and anxious when it came to your little hang out spots
There’s a random ledge high up on the wall by one of the taller windows in the town house
The boys had searched all over for you, even Azriel sent his shadows to look for you
Of course they found you but you told them to keep quiet. You swore they laughed as they floated away from you
When they did finally find you they were a little mad. They never wanted to worry about you but when they had no idea where you were it sent them into panic mode
You looked down to see all 3 of them giving you that same stern look with their arms crossed
“Hi. Did I miss something or…” Rhys would fly up to the ledge and bring you back down
“You’re little hang out spots are starting to freak me out.” He said, you could hear the anxiety Rhys was trying to cover in his voice. You promised to only sit on something that was like 6ft off the ground
Azriel would make you give him a list of all places that would be off limits now
“The window ledge, any of the beams in the house of wind, the pantry, the Library, the chandelier in the dining room-“ “wait, wait, wait stop. The chandelier?” “Yup!” “Why?” You smirked, “Cassian told me I couldn’t reach it so I did.”
You gave it a few days before you tried to hang out on the window ledge again
As you scaled the wall you found a shadow waiting for you and blocking you
Turns out they we’re serious

Thinking about Phantom's first times.......... Rain/Phantom & Swiss/Phantom under cut
(Mild CW - Medium implications of past assault)
I'm a firm believer that Phantom never experienced like.. Genuine, consenting sex until he became Topside. Seeing the pack having sex in the open absolutely freaked him out cause their mind processes it as "Oh fuck, X is hurting Z." And would cry over it.
It took him a while to finally understand the difference, and eventually he had sex on his own terms. Phantom was the closest to Swiss, and trusted him the most, so ofc he asked Swiss to be his first.
Swiss made sure to go all out! Petals on the bed, warm oil massage, candles, even giving Phantom a nice bath beforehand with dinner together privately. The pack was well aware and they wanted to make sure everything went smooth, so they didn't intervene for the entire time like they usually might've with each other.
Phantom just adored it all. Swiss started fingering him and just kept constantly reassuring him, he knew they were nervous even if they didn't say it - their body was. He was slow and gentle with prep, not once saying something crude or teasing.
"You're doing so good, baby bat. You're so damn beautiful..."
Totally went down on his bug, too while fingering him. Licking his cock so professionally - Phantom was his pillow prince and he was gonna make sure they got nothing but special treatment, Phantom didn't have to do anything unless he wanted to.
And ffuucck just the idea of Phantom having to keep eye contact with Swiss as he pushes in bc he needs that reassurance of who's above him. Their thighs trembling but hands cupping Swiss' face to keep grounding himself. It's just so gentle, Swiss reassuring him over and over again, even stopping every now and then when Phantom's tears seemed to be getting too much.
"We can stop if you're in pain or don't want to do this."
Very fucking quickly met back with, "Don't stop, please don't stop... It feels so good, please. I promise I'm okay."
Phantom just loses their absolute mind and is just left a blabbering, moaning mess. Whining Swiss' name, claws dragging down his back before he gets knotted. Then Swiss is all over him again, kissing his face, rubbing his sides with even more praises. He tries to recommend a shower after, but Phantom just wants to cuddle, so they'll do just that.
Now with Rain? Completely different anatomy, completely different story.
He joined his first time in a pack orgy and somehow ended up between Rain's legs after Mountain, and he's just... Sitting there. The water ghoul is giving so many confused and needy trills, looking at Phantom desperately but also completely confused until he suddenly scampers away to the bathroom and Cirrus takes his place without thinking.
They find each other after and Rain is a bit in shambles. Signing a bit frantically, "Did I do something wrong? Do you not like me? It's okay if you do I just want to know." And on and on - even Phantom feels guilty at a point.
He confesses he's never topped before, he doesn't know how to really pleasure Rain. Sure, he can watch the others all day, but he still doesn't understand and doesn't want to do just random stuff. They're more experienced with Rain, he has no damn clue.
Rain just relaxes and can't help but laugh, and they agree to test it out together. They're gently touching one another, Rain having to pull back every now and then to sign to his mate on what to do.
"Just slow back and forth. You'll get more of me on a bit. This is just the foreplay."
Phantom is rubbing Rain through his underwear, but Rain is full on jerking the Quintessence off. It's confusing and feels so amazing. Then he finally becomes a real man (/silly) when Rain directs him on how to eat pussy. Phantom has a decent sized tongue, but still on the smaller side, making him get so face deep between Rain's folds to lick and swallow. His eyes still looking at Rain while he arches his back and is emptily moaning. Learns very quickly how to multitask his tongue and fingers, and it's very much worth it in his eyes.
"You're doing so good, please keep doing that."
Rain totally squirts on his face and Phantom is over the moon about it. He's just purring and trilling, laying his head on Rain's chest while the other combs through their hair - trying to come down from his high.
Eventually he's sat up and directed to push in. Rain doesn't tell Phantom this, but he laughs about it in private, because when they started pushing in their eyes rolled back so damn hard to the point their tail stood straight up. It was both adorable and hilarious.
Slowly thrusting, Phantom just has a semi-death grip on Rain, trying to keep himself still and robotic. He has to listen to Rain literally telling him to ease up and just do what feels most comfortable. Eventually getting into his own rhythm, back to leaning against Rain's chest as he fucks his cunt a bit sloppy but Rain is no where near complaining.
He's not focusing on getting deep like a certain earth and fire ghoul, and definitely not trying to fuck his brains out like a certain multi (not that he minds either of those three.) In fact, it almost reminds him of when he and Mountain are doing a scene for their pet play dynamic, and Mountain is just hunched over his chest and whining while humping into him.
Finally being nudged to lift his head up by Rain for a nice kiss, swallowing all of Phantom's high moans and desperate whines. When his own knot starts dragging, Rain encourages them to knot him - that he wants it. So, Phantom does. He knots someone for the very first time and is a crying mess. It feels so right and so warm - Rain feels so right and so warm. So wet and comfortable, just taking his entire load without an issue.
Rain bringing a hand down to his clit and asking Phantom to grind up for the friction so he can get off, and it's such a lovely sight when his head goes back, neck displayed and body stiffening as he cums again too.
Phantom just nuzzling down and slowly sucking on one of Rain's nipples; Rain thinking he's finally getting the hang of it, looks down and nope. Phantom is asleep doing it.
It takes everything in Rain not to have a cuteness overload, so he just tries to adjust Phantom's legs so he's still not on his knees and sore - rolling them to their side since they're still locked in. Rain is just purring, resting his head between Phantom's horns with his claws going through his hair. It is 10000% still a kit behavior, Phantom has a lot he still hasn't grown out of yet, but Rain honestly doesn't mind. It's comforting for him, too.
Honestly, both experiences open Phantom t a new world of pleasure and he adores it! Still confirms he's a bottom though. Rain doesn't mind - he loves power bottoming his mates. I mean have you SEEN Mountain??? Bro has no issues with letting Phantom be the bottom.

Old face, new place
Written for @steddieholidaydrabbles warm up: High school or College AU
rated: t | cw: none | tags: disabled Steve Harrington, pre-Steddie | wc:1000
Steve and Eddie meet again in college. The Upside Down still happened, but Eddie was never involved.
Honestly, Steve never thought he would go to college. Between his average grades, lack of ambition, and just not knowing what he wanted to do, it just didn’t seem to be on the cards for him. But it all changed after the Upside Down turned his life upside down.
After it was all over, and he’d been disowned by his parents, he and Robin moved to Chicago together. It was there she encouraged him to start taking classes at the same community college as her, to try and get a degree.
And that was how he got here, facing down the door of an art room, trying to build up the courage to go in. He’d signed up to be a nude model for a figure drawing class. At $20 a session, it would really help stretch his and Robin’s lousy paychecks that bit further. As he opened the door, he could hear the teacher reminding the class to be mindful about the model's bodies. That made him feel a little more uneasy, because it reminded him that it was the first time anyone other than doctors or Robin had seen him uncovered since everything with Vecna, and then losing his leg in the final showdown. He stripped down in the cubicle at the side of the room, changing into just a bathrobe.
As he came into the main space, he could feel the eyes of everyone in the room on his prosthetic. He reached the stool set up for him, and slipped off the robe. A collective gasp rang through the room, and he knew it was because of the scarring from the demo-bat attacks.
He got into a pose, and tried to forget where he was. Whenever he took a minute to move because of getting too stiff, he glanced over the class, seeing if there was anyone he recognized. There was one guy who felt vaguely familiar, who would not stop staring at his scars, his gaze more intense than anyone else’s.
Eddie had always known that college wasn’t in the cards for him. Hell, it took him three attempts to graduate high school. And he was only successful the last time because everyone in the class of ‘86 was allowed to graduate without sitting their finals because of the freak earthquake, and the murders, that happened during spring break that year. Wayne had all but forced him into volunteering in the relief efforts, but as soon as he had his diploma in hand, he was hightailing it out of town, looking for something better.
He ended up in Chicago, working evenings in a bar, and getting an apprenticeship to become a tattoo artist. He was a few months into the apprenticeship when his mentor recommended that he take a couple of semesters of art classes at the local community college to help him with technique and to refine his style. He tried to deny it on grounds of cost, but it was covered under the apprenticeship program.
Which is how he found himself a few months in, sitting in a figure drawing class. He zoned out a little as the teacher brought up the rules that had been laid out on the first day of the figure drawing unit, about making the models comfortable and not saying anything about their bodies. That hadn’t happened before any of the other models came in, so it did make Eddie wonder. Maybe it would be a guy with a really interesting dick.
Instead, it was Steve Harrington, of all people, that limped into the room. Eddie couldn’t help but watch as he went into the corner blocked off for the models to change in. What had brought King Steve to be a model for an art class? Looking for more validation on how pretty he was? Trying to pick up girls?
He brought himself out of his thoughts as Steve came out in a robe and. A prosthetic leg. That explained the limp, but brought so many more questions about what had happened. Because Eddie clearly remembered Steve in those tiny gym shorts and he definitely wasn’t missing a leg at that point.
Then Steve dropped the robe. Eddie, alongside the rest of the class, gasped. And not for the reason he’d thought he would be gasping when seeing Steve Harrington naked. He had horrific scarring on his chest and sides. Just opening even more questions to what the hell had happened to him.
He did his best to complete the assigned drawing, but his eyes kept getting drawn to Steve’s scars. The curiosity kept building as the time went on, and he was unsure if he’d be able to keep it in.
He packed up slowly at the end, wanting to try and catch Steve. They’d never been friends, but he needed to know if he was okay. He waited until they were both out of the room, before he called after him. “Hey, Harrington.”
Steve turned around, and looked at Eddie for a moment before recognition flashed in his eyes. “Munson.”
“Are- are you okay?” He asked, feeling a bit lost, unsure if what he wanted to ask was inappropriate.
“You mean my-” Steve rested his hand on his side where the worst of the scarring was. “Animal attack during the earthquake. It’s fine now.”
“And your-” Eddie’s gaze dropped to Steve’s legs.
“An accident a few months later.”
“Damn. You’ve really been through it, Harrington.”
Steve gave a bitter laugh that Eddie couldn’t quite read. “You don’t know the half of it.”
“Maybe you could tell me some of it? Over coffee if you’re free?” Eddie suggested.
Steve looked at his watch. “I’ve got class in like twenty minutes. But I’ll be free after eleven tomorrow?”
Eddie ran through his scheduling in his mind, he was in the shop in the morning. “I’m working in the morning, but I’ll be off about two. We could do a late lunch or something?”
“It’s a date.” Steve agreed.

Jazz found a magical artifact that bound itself to her. Asking Danny and his friends in the GZ made it clear that the artifact wasn't related to ghosts. When she brought it up around Dani, the young girl suggested they ask this friendly(ish) half demon girl that she met while on her travels.
So they left Amity to find Raven.
As soon as they stepped into Jump City, though, they found themselves pulled into some dangerous bs involving being sacrificed to some demon. Everything they had on them was taken by the cultists. Including the artifact.
The artifact started to glow as it got further and further from Jazz until, at 10 feet away, it spun out of the cultist's hands and went straight into Jazz's chest. She'd started freaking out, until she realized she was being surrounded by a very bright light and floating.
By the time she dropped back to the ground, only stumbling slightly, she noticed that she was in a different outfit. It wasn't what she'd normally wear, but it surprisingly suited her. It was a mostly light blue dress with black accents. She also noticed that the rope that was tying her hands together was gone. There was also a really pretty blue and black bat with a bow on its handle in her hands.
"Who are you? Where'd the other girl go?" one of the cultists asked, gaining her attention.
Jazz was confused. She didn't change that much.
Then the jerks started attacking her. She was able to dodge their attacks due to their sloppiness and landed a few herself. They started using broken pipes and chairs as weapons but she'd been trained by two hyper competent scientists in self defense. They weren't going to stand a chance against a Fenton, much less one with their preferred weapon.
After she won the fight, the door was busted down by a black haired kid wearing green, red, yellow, and black leading four other teens. They seemed ready to fight until they noticed Jazz untying her sister and most of the cultists passed out from head trauma related injuries.
Before the 5 teens could ask questions though, Dani asked her where she went. She'd returned to normal after the fight, and didn't know what to make of it.
"What do you mean where did I go? I was right here?" Jazz replied.
"No?" Dani replied confused. "You disappeared and a girl in a blue and white dress appeared."
"That was me," Jazz said, starting to become drained. "The stupid artifact went into my chest and there was a flash of light then I was in that dress."
The group had snuck up on the two girls during their brief conversation. Raven spoke first. "Can I see the artifact?"
Jazz jumped and spun around. "Oh! Sure." and then handed it to Raven.
Raven floated away from the group to let Robin take over asking the two questions. She turned the artifact over in her hands a few times before summoning a book and searching through it until she found the page she was looking for. The description matched.
She rejoined the group and told them what she found out. "It's a rather new artifact as far as artifacts go. It was created as a set of three in the early 1990s. They were meant to find people who were "pure of heart" or had "strong senses of justice" that didn't feel like they were able to help and bind themselves to those people. According to the book, the person that created them wanted to create their own set of "magical girls" and spelled the artifacts to be able to give their hosts a set of powers, outfits, and weapons based on the host's personalities."
It took a few moments for it to sink in, but when it did Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Dani started snickering. Starfire was confused but happy. Robin and Jazz had very similar reactions, responding with a nearly perfectly timed "What?"
Here are some magical girl associated powers, if you were curious.

Heart Podium (Joe Burrow x OC x Max Verstappen)
Many times our childhood dreams cannot be realized, due to our overly fertile imagination, many times our professional childhood dreams cannot be realized either, either due to the delay in getting a place at the university we dreamed of or the lack of opportunities when it comes to working in the arts or sports.
There's always plan b.
Kayleigh was one of those kids, it's true that dreaming of being a Backyardigan was difficult, but she was left with plan b, a plan that was broadcast every Sunday before the NFL, her father would have lunch, afternoon snack and dinner on the same channel, watching the drivers and then the Cleveland Browns, his favorite team in the state.
That was the most exciting thing Kayleigh had in her childhood, watching Formula One followed by a good Browns game, arriving at school and eagerly wanting to talk to someone, but the girls didn't like the subject and asked to talk about something else and the boys laughed at her.
Leaving her and her mom's cookies in the stands.
Until one day she plucked up the courage and asked her father to play go-kart, finding a track in the state of Ohio in 2004, it wasn't the easiest task in the world, but he managed it and little by little, it went from being a joke to a serious thing.
Until high school came and she discovered that there were two ways to get into college: she had to be very smart or know how to play some sport, in 2011 in the United States, go-kart doesn't really mean a sport, far from it.
Not knowing what to do, she decided to confront her parents in her first year.
Not wanting to do anything, since it wouldn't help her with her possible future career was a very risky step.
For her parents, it's not even worth mentioning, they wanted to freak out, exchanging the stability of a degree for a go-kart race, for them it's crazy, especially when they've always prepared themselves financially for it, when they always prepared for her to enter university, which is not the cheapest thing,and it was in these uncertainties and in the midst of this conflict of whether or not to go to college that she tried to get interested in more conventional sports.
But when she tried out, she was terrible at soccer, average at lacrosse, slow at basketball, tough at gymnastics, shy at cheerleading, short at volleyball, afraid of water when swimming and she's a girl, she couldn't play American football.
It was during one of these that she found herself making a fuss.
-You're going to regret it, you know, you're losing the best wide receiver the world has ever seen - She yelled.
One of the guys looked at her in fright, while others wondered who she was.
-You know you were running for the cornerback spot, right? A blond guy tells her.
-Yeah, I know, that's exactly why - She sighs tiredly.
-Because you came to try for the spot right here, you know they don't choose girls easily.
-I’ve tried everywhere, I came here just to cause trouble, I had nothing to do” She confesses, leaving him confused.
-Really?
-Yes-They end up laughing.
-You don’t like a specific sport, maybe if you try there you’ll do better, maybe explain to the coach that you like it and want to learn and she’ll let you stay-He suggests.
-I like watching, but not putting it into practice, I’m doing this more so my parents can see that I’m not good, I already know I’m not good-She sighs.
-I’m sorry-He gives her a half smile, until she feels a crack.
-Geez, I haven’t tried baseball yet-she remembers and gets up, leaving the equipment there.
-They don’t accept girls either-He reminds her.
-That’s exactly why-Kayleigh laughs.
-By the way, what's your name?-She stops, holding the door.
-I'm Joseph-he says shyly.
-I'm Kayleigh, see you soon, Joseph.
And yes, she tried baseball, but the first time she held the bat, it ended up between the legs of the boy next to her, who fell to the ground groaning in pain.
Kayleigh was thrown out.
Fate was cruel to her when it came to sports, but it only reinforced the idea that she had to continue in karting.
After meeting Joseph, she would see him someday, as she thought, but she would see him every day, until the prom, when after two years together, she finally realized that they would have to separate by force,and how that hurt, not only for her but for him too.
-I can’t believe you’re going to Europe, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m going to tell Ohio State to go fuck itself, I’ll go with you wherever you have to go, but I don’t want to be away from you.-His cheeks already reddened from the cold, he said.
-Stop saying that, you’ve been given an incredible opportunity, you have to take advantage of it.-She tried to convince him.
-But I can’t imagine being away from you.-Hearing that, she lay down on his lap.
-We’ll get through this, you’ll see, and we’ll be strong.
The first year away was the hardest, not only for Joseph, but for her parents too, because seeing their daughter try to make a living racing karts, traveling all over Europe, was something that made them so proud, but at the same time so apprehensive.The second year seemed to be easier. They were already well accustomed to the routine of video calls, social media, messages, letters. They sent polaroids to hang up. Once, Joseph even caught himself putting his perfume on the paper to make sure she could smell him. They exchanged gifts, everything.
Until the careers arrived on television, Joseph could sit down and look for the channel to watch her and she could pick up the phone and watch the college divisionals.The fifth year passed, the sixth too, and then the seventh, when Joe finally took off in his career in American football, being drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals.
And the following year, Kayleigh did what she never imagined she would be able to do: she reached Formula One, after almost dying waiting for this event. Of course the party was huge, she returned to her country with all possible honor, suddenly a little girl from Ohio was going to compete for a title for a team and everyone wanted to know what this little girl does and better, where are the American boys who are not having the same prominence?But she could never say that it had any real effect on the American public. Formula One is still a playboy thing for them, to the point where they even consider golf a more accessible sport.
Just as she was there for Joe's big debut, he was there for his big debut, of course,but their contracts ended up preventing more contact. They had to train, they had to focus, they couldn't travel long distances or do physical work before their work, and they also couldn't be too far away from their work.
It allowed them to spend a few moments together. She would catch his last games if he made the playoffs and he would catch her first races,so much time apart didn't make their love diminish. On the contrary, seeing each other's achievements seemed to only strengthen their love for each other.And even without knowing, there was someone who was not at all happy with this growing love.
-Joe said he'll call me soon.-She jumps around the room excitedly, waiting for someone to call her to give her the prize.
-Hmm- Max makes an annoyed face, leaving his helmet on the stand.
-That's cute, it's the middle of the night in the United States, isn't it?-Carlos asks her, all smiles.
-Yes, it's the middle of the night and he stayed up.-She doesn't hide her smile.
-Really the last of the romantics.-Max rolls his eyes.
-Stop being annoying, she's so happy.-Carlos watches her like a doting father.
Max glares at him, enough for the Spaniard to avoid him and stay quiet.
And of course, the next day, as always happens after every race, Joe sends her a huge bouquet, with a dedication and, when he is present, romantic letters.For most people around him, it is just his European or rather, Dutch humor.
But for those who actually live with him and see the mistakes he makes and notices, the way he treats her when she talks about other things and when she talks about Joe, they understand very well.
Max messed up her hair, trying to free her mind from those thoughts, from that feeling, but realized it was difficult.After another podium with her, another trip to a random bar with everyone involved, the country's biggest celebrities and everything else, he could no longer stand two things.
The first, Charles flirting even with the walls of the place.
The second, the fact that she trusted George more than him, to tell him the reason for her 37th breakup with Joe.
-I honestly don't understand you guys, one moment you say that distance is good, the next you break up because of distance, make up your mind damn it-George, tired of the situation, slammed his hand on the table.He fixed his hair, looked around and composed himself.
-Sorry man, I got carried away-He spoke like most people do sometimes, treating her like a man.
-I know it's not the most normal thing to do, but it tires me out-She said finally, she didn't want to waste her friend's night with this, much less make him occupy his mind with his problems.
She went to the bar to order another drink, without realizing who was next to her.
-Did you bump into something?-She heard someone ask and then looked to the side to see Max.
-What do you mean?-She immediately became confused.
-Your leg is kind of purple,-he says.
-Oh, let's just say I might have fallen on my suitcase- She rolls her eyes.
-It's the third time this season.-He holds back his laughter.
-She goes everywhere and sometimes it happens.-She shrugs.
-Your suitcase can make you more purple than your boyfriend, I think it's time to trade him for her.-Max takes a sip of his drink, savoring every note of it, satisfied with yet another mean comment about Joe. He knows how distance affects him and that's nothing more than a psychological game, sending indirect messages that hurt.
As always, she remained silent, discreetly observing her leg and trying to cover the bruise, with her face reddened.
-I can't blame him, he's going after his dream." She answers for the first time, even if a while later and too quietly, as if she wasn't even there anymore.
Until the girl asks herself, why is Max worried about this?
For a second, Max almost misses the destination of the glass, looking at her.
-Really, there are men whose only dream is to chase a ball, not to have trophies and a woman who loves him.-He takes the opportunity to retort.
-Thanks for ruining the rest of my night, Max, you're always so sensitive.-She answers, choked, finishes her drink and walks towards the exit with long strides.
Max remains there at the bar, staring at the various bottles, some full, others half full, thinking that once again she leaves angry with him, because he doesn't defend her dear Joe.
-You don't have to be so rude all the time, I know you're used to guys around here, but you have to realize that there are girls around here now and they deserve to be treated with kindness and affection, did you know that women are people too?Lewis appears at her side, irritated by the situation.
-Have you stopped talking, Lewis Senna Hamilton?He scoffed.
Max was already drunk enough to almost drag himself back to the hotel.
And even after spending the next few hours thinking about whether or not to knock on her door, as he always does when he’s drunk, he decided it wasn’t the right time.
When he woke up with the sun and that strange feeling, since that’s usually when he goes to sleep, thanks to the jet lag, he allowed himself the luxury of staying a few more minutes in that comfortable bed, under all those sheets, grabbing the fluffiest of his pillows to hug, trying to get it into his head that he was hugging her, trying to get it into his mind that he woke up next to her that morning, it seems he was so used to doing this every morning that with each passing day, the images became clearer in his mind and the sensations stronger.
And for the next race he had a surprise, he jumped out and took off his helmet and head protector, looking in disbelief at the smiling couple on the sidelines watching the track.
-Joe, should I congratulate you or say my condolences? Max gives his best sarcastic smile.
-I don't understand- Joe's radiant smile fades.
-What do you expect from a player? Max grumbles, he had meters around to pass and reach his destination, a screen to review his training, but he made sure to pass between the two, bumping into Joe.
He placed his helmet on the table next to him, silently completing the malicious thought, about his possible dubious qi, when he saw Joe approaching through the shadow on the ground, his smile only grew wider.
Kayleigh decided to leave, aware that they would have some kind of argument.
-I don't understand your stubbornness, Max- Joe confessed, watching Max from a few inches away.
-I say it over and over again, what can you expect from a player? Max rolls his eyes.
-And what are you, don’t you play in this?Joe retorts.
-I’m a pilot, it’s different-he says, convinced.
On the side of the track, tired and just waiting for time to pass, the topic, as always, was just one.
-Max is PMSing- Lando comments while sitting on the floor.
-We should take up a collection and pay a gynecologist, so she can prescribe some medicine, I don’t know- Hulkenberg adds.
-I think what he needs is a psychiatrist, one minute he’s calm, the next he wants to kill you, he’s crazy- Lewis concludes.
-He just needs some time to calm down, recharge his batteries and rest- George defends him.
But he ends up getting angry looks from everyone.
-For this and other reasons, I stay away from that snake pit they call Red Bull, God forbid I have to deal with that creature - Charles says, looking disdainfully at their reserved space.
-No offense, Kay- He makes his observation.
-No offense, I can't stand it anymore- She confesses.
-Not even Kayleigh throws this tantrum when she's on her period, honestly we don't even know when that happens, thanks for sparing us- Lando thanks her, making her laugh.
-I think there are certain details that aren't necessary- She comments.
Max walks past the group with firm steps.
-No one moves their ass in this place, then they complain about the podium- He sends the indirect message with his angry eyes.
Everyone there exchanges glances.
-Hold the Japanese- Ricciardo warns.
-Why? Charles finds the request strange.
-I’m warning you, hold the Japanese guy-he repeats.
And indeed, poor Tsunoda is at breaking point with Max.
Joe left, but Max’s sourness didn’t.
During breakfast at the hotel, Pierre’s strawberries were more sour than expected.
-Her boyfriend leaves and doesn’t get a bruise on his neck, he’s a real wimp- Max grumbles, savoring his waffles.
George’s eyes widen, he wipes his mouth with the napkin next to him.
-Max, how rude. He glances at Max out of the corner of his eye.
But Pierre has the most priceless face, he looks like he’s eaten something spoiled.
-Jesus, you weirdo, who says that, keeps an eye on others, has he become a tax inspector now? He left his comment.
-Watch out guys, there are people watching our necks- Lando dramatically covers his with his sweatshirt.
-I think you should start thinking about where and when you say certain things, Max- Carlos warns him, earning his laugh.
-Why? Do you know anything?” The Dutchman stared at him.
-Common sense Max, just common sense- he retorted.
-That was ridiculously sexist, Max, if that’s what you say, imagine what you think- Lewis gives him his best disapproving look.
-Have you finished your testimony Lewis?Max provokes him.
Max’s life became increasingly complicated there, with the boys and his provocations, little by little choosing to be alone, but not as much as Kayleigh's, who, in addition to having to put up with his mood swings, also has to put up with Joe's suspicions.
His jealousy used to have no name, but now it has a first and last name. Kayleigh only sees one reason for it, the fact that they work together, nothing else could make sense, andexplaining it doesn't seem to help, Joe found himself wondering why they exchanged smiling handshakes live, if she hates him so much.
-Do you really think that after the race, I'll remember how much I hate him? Of course not, Joe. I just think that I won or that I need to improve, hug everyone involved and leave. - She explains, pacing back and forth across the room.
-I don't want to be the annoying guy, but he doesn't look like he hates you, he seems to take advantage of your innocence. - Joe says almost desperately.
-What innocence, Joe? - She asks him.
-Kay, I don't want to fight over this guy. I'm just saying that this isn't something that makes me comfortable. You're walking around half the world with them in a place full of men working, next to several men, and that bothers me. Not only because of jealousy, I don't know, maybe they'll try to do something to you. -
-Jesus, Joe, don't say something like that. I understand your side, okay. I'm not saying you're wrong, but you need to trust me. I won't betray your trust. I haven't done that in all these years. Why would I do it now? - She tries to calm him down.
-Sorry for stressing you out. - He sighs heavily.
And it's been like this for a while.
Even when they're not at work, free to visit somewhere, Max seems to show up in the same place as her or simply in a place nearby, which makes Joe even more suspicious.
But Max couldn't stop there. When he saw her calmly standing there taking some notes, Max approached her with the excuse of seeing what she was writing down and it was then that he took the opportunity to bring his face too close to hers, which left her somewhat speechless. He placed his hand on her hip, giving her a discreet caress.
-Studying for the race, kitten?- He smiled at her reaction, a mix of confusion and embarrassment.
-Sorry Kay, I forget that you're sensitive to male touches. He laughed, leaving her blushing and finally going where he wanted.
She closed her eyes, not liking it at all. His provocations were getting more and more personal with Joe.
Whenever Max managed to get the slightest hint, he would walk away smiling.
But this time, George decided to confront him.
-You should be ashamed of touching women who are in a committed relationship inappropriately- he says, somewhat indignantly.
-Have you had your tea yet, dear English nobleman?" George rolls his eyes.
-Max, I'm serious, that's not cool, it could cause unnecessary confusion- he insists.
-You look so cute saying 'unnecessary'.Max laughs at the guy, who decides to get more serious.
-When Joe gets pissed off and comes to punch you in the face, don't tell me I never warned you.
-Before he punches me in the face, he'll punch you in the face, because you're the little friend who's always around, hugging and advising when they break up. Do you really think he's going to come after me, George?
-I'm in a committed relationship, I've never done this with bad intentions. He doesn't like the accusation.
-Wow, now I'm confused, is this a swing or a threesome? Max laughs to himself.
George stopped walking at the same moment, offended and even more shocked by another accusation.
When he realized it, Max took a few steps back and ruffled his hair.
-Just kidding, George, you're so cute.
But even his happiest days get bad when he sees the two of them together on social media, kisses, dates, more kisses. Max is sure that if Joe knew how jealous he is of him, for being able to love the woman he loves, he would definitely dig a hole to the center of the earth and stay there, far from Max's eyes.
He has thought countless times about using Joe's number saved on his phone, to send some manipulated photo or one that would have a double meaning, but knowing the two of them, he believes that even that would be reason to break up and get back together after a few days.
But it's these photos, the flowers, the letters, her giggles in the corners of the hotel, that make him freak out when he shouldn't. After being next to her in one of the endless meetings and noticing his new gift, a ring on her finger, that was enough for Max to find any reason to start stomping his feet and shouting. And sometimes he even measures her before the race, in the best possible way, as if he were casting a curse on her. -Damn, did you two fight? The boy asks her. -Honestly, I don't know, he left the meeting shouting, now he just looks at me like that. She sighs tiredly. At one of the parties, thanks to Charlie, he can talk to her a little. -You know, girls, sometimes we reach 200 kilometers per hour.He boasts, the trio of friends start drooling in French. -You could say that I am speed. He gives her his most seductive smile.
Max denied it and snorted.
-If I say something like that, I'll get a restraining order.- He takes a good sip of his drink.
-Also, with a sensitive mood like that, you can be sure that many would be afraid. She teased.
-So I don't have a chance? He used his playful tone.
-You're quite cheeky, you know. She lightly took his hand as a quick friendly caress, more for his level of need, that wasn't just a caress.
Max took her hand, lifting it and bringing it to his lips, finally leaving a caress there.
She was embarrassed, but she couldn't see any harm in anything Max did; for her, that was just an apology for the previous treatment.
But from that day on, it could be said that Max started to look at her more, in increasingly shameless ways.
Once again, with a podium in his hands, he waited for her, making sure to catch her eyes, just so she could see him measuring her completely, and she could see that it really affected her.
Or another time, when she was already embarrassed by him staring at her, while she watched the screen with the replay of some moments of the race, he caressed her face, giving her a wink.
She certainly doesn't know what to do with that.
Joe can't dream of that, while Max seems to love it.
But what she didn't expect was for someone to tell Joe about the flirting and say that she is increasingly cornered by the situation.
Unfortunately for Joe, in the middle of his season and fortunately for Max, in the middle of Joe's season.
One day after getting out of the car, Max was waiting for her, not giving her much space to walk away, the girl took off her helmet without knowing what that was, does he want to solve something? Are they going to slap each other or something like that? She wondered.
-How are you, Max? She looked at him.
-You were amazing, you know that? He spoke softly, raising his hands again to her hips and patting them a few times.
-Thanks, I have to go - she said, without giving Max any space. He wanted to know how she was when her only option was to be ridiculously close to him.
The group was confused, to say the least, they didn't know what the hell was going on and what the atmosphere was like.
As Max walked away with firm steps, when he saw that she was far away, he decided to try to get along with the Red Bull team.
-Sometimes I forget that she's not a guy - he laughed for no reason, but he's not like the other boys, who really do forget that she's the woman there. Max remembers who she is every second.
But Joe's situation is nothing that a phone call can't solve.
-Joe, I don't understand who told you that? He asked.
-Someone I trust- Joe justifies himself.
-Joe, I'm going to be honest, if I had the chance to sleep with her, you can be sure I would have done it already, as many times as I could and you can be sure that every time I lie down in my bed, I wonder why it hasn't happened yet and guess what, it's your fault- Max decides to be honest just to hear what Joe has to say.
-You're really brave to say something like that, you know? You know what, I'm going to kill you- Joe gets upset enough for Max to have some difficulty understanding what he's saying, the Dutchman gave his best laugh.
-You know, just a simple touch on her hip makes her all embarrassed, it makes me wonder how long it's been since she's been with a real man, but apparently I don't think that's ever happened, especially since she's only been with you- He continued his provocations.
-Joe, it's really cool that you're the cute guy who gives flowers after every race, gives gifts, writes letters, but if I were you I'd start to worry, because there are a lot of people watching her and I'm one of those people- Joe snorted from the other side.
-Because you can be sure that if I were her boyfriend, her legs wouldn't need a stupid touch to go weak, a simple look would be enough to make her remember a lot of things, things like that my friend, let's be honest, we're among friends here, you don't- Max stabbed the last time, hearing a sound of something breaking and he was sure it wasn't a glass but the phone.
Kayleigh almost didn't find out anything, they both avoided the subject just waiting for the other to tell.
But as the races went by, the atmosphere between Max and her seemed increasingly confused.
With the end of another race, Max lifted her up in a hug that at the moment, out of joy, she didn't stop to think about everything that was happening, but Joe did.
-The thing is, if it were me, it wouldn't be just fucking work- Joe shouted loud enough for her to have to pull the phone away from her ear.
-It was just a hug Joe, we've been together for I don't know three, four years, we work side by side, I understand your jealousy, don't think I don't understand, I do understand and in your place I would be like that too, I'll talk to him okay, I promise I'll talk to him and we'll work this out- She tries to calm him down having this idea.
-Kayleigh Hawkins I trust you, please don't make me lose that trust in you, I love you regardless of whether we can't spend a month together without breaking up, I don't know what I would do without you- He asks sighing heavily on the other side.
-I never did anything to make you doubt me, you know that Joe, if I didn't like you, I wouldn't be with you until today, swallowing all these breakups, just promise me that you'll calm down, okay? I love you - She says finally.
She went to sleep and tried to calm her mind, she needed to be calm and talk to Max the right way, she knows how he is, even if she's a little uncomfortable with all this extra contact they're having, there's no reason to do this to Joe, to let him suffer with a situation that's already driving him crazy, he's far away and the only thing she can do is trust that they're telling him the truth.
She got ready, took pictures with everyone who asked and went into the nightclub, this time looking for Max, the first thing she thought would be that he'd be at the bar, as he always does, but nothing.
She spotted George and it doesn't hurt to try.
She nudged him lightly so that he would lean in without leaving the circle of conversation.
-Have you seen Max? She asks him.
-Thank God I haven't seen Satan today. I heard he came to Earth in the body of this Max guy, but honestly I think Max is the one possessing the devil. George turns back to the group of friends. Okay, that's not the information she wanted to hear today.
She asked Lando the question, indiscreetly interrupting him and a girl she doesn't know, earning a free kick.
-Man, I haven't seen him - Pierre says, already out of habit in the male environment.
She sighs, imagining two hypotheses: either he's hiding out with some girls or he's gone back to the hotel.
She quickly makes sure to send a message to Joe, saying that he's definitely with some woman and that she's going to wait a little longer to look for him again. She rolls her eyes at having to do that, still feeling like she's going to be really embarrassed.
She picked up her drink and decided to walk around again until she saw him walking outside with his glass and sitting alone at a table.
She hurried, she needed to be quick, she didn't want anyone to arrive in the middle of the process.
When she walked through the door, it was clear that he found it strange that she went there, he gave her a small smile that was returned.
-Can I sit here? She politely asked for one of the empty seats.
He put his hands under the armrest of his chair with a big smile.
-You can sit wherever you want.
-Okay - she mumbled tensely.
-What do you need? He asked her, making her a little embarrassed.
If he was having a bad day, it could get even worse, so she decided to be as cautious as possible.
-Joe talked to me yesterday, he was a little upset about our hug, he got jealous of you and you know, I don't want that to get in the way of anything, not you, me or him, so if you could reduce the physical contact it would be a big help. She smiles nervously.
Joe said he's jealous? he asks with the same apathetic expression.
It was then that his laughter startled her.
-Yeah, I know, it's irrational. She quickly agrees, starting to lose her voice and blush with embarrassment, she didn't need to be making such a fool of herself, she thought.
Max froze when he heard that and with his best ironic tone, asked her to continue.
-We've known each other for years, we work together on the same team, it's crazy to say this, I'm really sorry for this boring conversation, but I promised him I'd talk to you, you know- she's already preparing for the next kick, he'd probably say it's a favor not to have to hug her and that would be the kindest thing she could imagine that could come out of his mouth.
-First of all, I'm an educated man, so I wouldn't be talking nonsense, smiling, complimenting, or any of that crap to someone I'm not interested in. We both know you're smart, you don't need to force it so much. She's in a mix of understanding and not understanding.
He looks at her and realizes he's only confused her even more.
-Tell your boyfriend, if he's jealous, he'll have to have the balls to come here to solve it - Max says, enjoying the situation.
-This will create an unnecessary situation, you know, you don't need all this for a misunderstanding- she explains again.
-Let me explain something to you, since you didn't have the tact to notice, from the damn moment I met you, well before I knew that this idiot was your boyfriend, I was already in love with you and something stopped me from talking to you, my girlfriend. Now I'm single and nothing stops me from talking to you. Are you going to say you never noticed? Her feet fell, as she tried to reason, she felt a cold hand go up her thigh. She froze there, not knowing what to do, looking at Max who had the most peaceful expression in the world.
She looked down, seeing the hem of her loose black dress rising higher and higher, exposing the area. She couldn't understand how Max, who distributes rudeness, now had a hand on her thigh. She delicately brought her hand to meet his, making eye contact with him again, but when she thought she would stop her hand, she only made him squeeze the spot and get even closer to where he shouldn't.
-Max I think you- She prepares to get up, but he is faster.
-Sit down, we're not done talking - he uses his most gentle tone, but even so it's hard to say anything.
-That idiot Joe has even threatened to kill me, you know, because he knows that I like you and I made one thing clear to him and now it's going to be clear to you, the only thing I need is for you to say yes, you know where my room is, it's always next to yours, it's not hard to find, when you get tired of this idiot you can knock on my door. - He walks away.
-That's not how it works, it's not about getting tired of my boyfriend -She is cut off.
-I don't know how and what you like about him, so yes, it's a matter of getting tired of him
Even with the shock, she stayed quiet and didn't say anything to anyone, she thought that would make things easier, but everything got worse with Max.
Now besides being a sweetheart, he's simply everywhere.
This includes grabbing her hand when she is focused on the training screens, indiscreetly measuring her and, what has caught the team's attention the most, the number of times he touches her hair.
On another day, finishing some notes about the current track, she doesn't know when he appeared, but he started massaging her shoulders, slowly moving up to her neck. The first thing she did was cough to discreetly send him away, which didn't help.
-You need to relax, Kay, you're too tense - he says quietly.
One of the guys on the team walked by them.
-I'm enjoying seeing you helping each other, Red Bull spirit - the guy leaves smiling.
-Max, that's enough, you're going too far -she says through clenched teeth.
-That's my specialty. He laughed, one of his arms serving as support so he could slide his hand down her spine as far as he could reach, slowly moving up, noticing her held breath.
-You need to relax, why don't you take a deep breath and let my hands help you?He suggested.
-I need you to stop with the double-meaning jokes - She asked.
He didn't answer, he just brought his fingers to the back of her neck, massaging the tips of them and moving down a little, he got as close as the backless bench would allow, pressing her head against his torso, and finally sliding his fingers from her jaw until they almost reached her lap.
-And what kind of massage is this? Can you explain it to me? She asked reluctantly.
-A casual massage, like any other, I think that massage is more about touching someone's skin until you see relaxation appear, and that angle of you is wonderful - He teased, aware that with the force used there it would be difficult for her to move.
-Max, I didn't know you could give a massage - Lando shouts from outside.
-That's great for those who wear a helmet.
-I'll have one - Lando says, and Charles agrees next to him.
-Me too.
-Sure, boys. I'll be right there when I'm done. He smiles at the two of them, who continue on their way.
-Why aren't you writing it down? Did you forget what you wanted? He gives his most fake tone of concern.
But by giving her the massage right there, he makes it difficult for her to say anything.
He then gently lowers his fingers and finishes, bending down a little so that he's at the height of her neck.
-Stop pretending you didn't like it. Considering that you're dating Joe and how much your skin is crawling, I think you should go to the bathroom and get yourself together - he pats her shoulder.
-It's great to see how satisfying these hands are, not just on the steering wheel. He laughs, walking away and giving her another wink. Kayleigh closed the notebook, wanting to bury her face in the ground. This can't be happening. Max can't be serious. But he is very serious and to make the test complete, he decided to tease her with a little more than words. The situation has already escalated to a point where she doesn't know if she can keep denying it and, worse, what to say to Joe when he calls at the end of the day and she has the same scared expression. Suddenly, the guy who was a jerk to everyone has become an angel with her and, on top of that, says he's in love with her, to the point of making a scene. The point is, she doesn't know how far he's going with the description, but Max knows well.
Tsunoda, who is next to the two, was a bit embarrassed by his face towards her and hers towards the floor. He doesn't know if coughing would help to start a conversation or if anything else, the atmosphere around them became unpleasant and even tense.
She was grateful when she saw Carlo approaching, smiling as always, and greeted everyone, but before they could say anything.
-We would make a beautiful couple, wouldn't we? He points at her, who freezes in disbelief.
-Isn't she with Joe? Carlos asks.
-I didn't ask about him, I'm talking about us. Tsunoda and Sainz stare at each other, not knowing what to say, along with her, who has wide eyes.
-Of course, they would be great, she's very pretty and you - Carlos is cut off.
-Really, she's beautiful. Max gives his best smile to Kay, who pretends not to have heard anything.
-I heard Lando calling me, bye guys. He left in a hurry without looking back. It didn't matter that they must have been there for an event or something, he would arrive at the last minute and that was it.
But her destination ended up being the same as his.
Max took advantage of the hotel corridor being empty, to reach her and hug her body from behind, holding her. Kay moved, trying to get out of the tight spot, and then Max decided to play it low, going up to her neck and nibbling it.
-Can't you see that it's crowded here, can't you see that this is going to hurt me? She asked him irritably, trying to stop him from continuing to caress her.
-You said that I always mistreated you, I'm just treating you the way I should, making my interests obvious to everyone. He replied.
And then only two breaths were heard in the hallway, Max continued the attack on her neck, sliding his hand until he reached the hem of the woman's pants where she quickly grabbed him.
-Are you going to run away again? You know that the more you run the better it is for me, because then I'll feel like I've won you over. He then released her, turning her to face him.
When he realized, he was against a wall in one of the many empty hallways, Max brought his hand to her face, squeezing her cheeks.
-Do you know how much it hurt me to spend four years of my life, seeing you with that clown, while you were always by my side? Do you know what it's like to see him deliver flowers, letters and then suddenly it all ends, you feel hope, then you come back and all this repeats itself over and over again, meanwhile, I'm the guy who's always here, do you know how horrible that is? He asked her somewhat irritated, not with her anymore, but with the situation.
-Not even when you were hospitalized after a crash, he showed up, like a good teammate I went there, do you understand now how much I need you to dump him and let me make you truly happy? he asked, letting his hand slip.
He steps away slightly, Kay runs her hands through her hair, messing it up, looking to one side nothing but an empty hallway, looking to the other the same and Max in front of her waiting for the answer.
-You guys break up all the damn time, break up with him, spend some time with me and then if you regret it, which I highly doubt, you go back to him. Max waits for her decision, staring at her.
-I can't... he quickly cuts her off.
-You can't throw away your childhood love, a beautiful childhood love that you see for three months and then only next year."
She swallows that.
-I may not be the nicest guy, nor as loved by everyone as he is, but I will be here and I know very well how much you want someone who is here. He gently takes her hand.
-You want someone who will hold your hand, praise you, watch you run, can do something stupid together, someone who understands you, someone who is not so fickle, someone who is here to wake up next to you, who will hug you at night, who can touch you and he can't do any of that but I can and I want to. The distance between the two became short again until the wall appeared.
Kayleigh took a deep breath and nodded slightly, she was afraid that she was under the effect of his power of persuasion and even more so of those eyes, but she couldn't deny it. She did miss Joe's presence, she loved him, not having him around was always the biggest obstacle.
And this obstacle would only have one solution, one of the two of them giving up their careers.
The fact is that once again they have been separated for a week, but as always she cries on the day and then pretends that nothing happened and they are together.
-We broke up last week - she begins, still thoughtful. -We can try, but I don't want anyone to know, because if nothing works out, I don't want it to become a mess, or for anyone to talk about it - she asks. -They'll start seeing me smile, it'll be kind of obvious - he approaches. -Are you sure?" He asks cautiously first. -Yes - he agrees. Max presses the elevator button, leaves a hand caressing her ear, preparing to finally kiss her for the first time. Max never hides his desire, much less his rush, but even so, he takes Kayleigh by surprise when he lets his hands roam guiltlessly over her body in that hallway.
He finally felt the weight, anger and hurt of all those years being thrown aside, being extracted from her body, he wouldn't say she wanted to wait so long, but being able to drive Joe crazy, just like he had been all this time was wonderful, now he finally has what he wants, her.

Hi! I’m not sure if you’re still taking requests but if you are, can I ask for one, Batfam x vigilante!male!reader. The reader is a teen (younger than Tim and older than Damian). He’s like super smart and knows martial arts and is a total badass. The bat family has been trying to catch him for a year now. The reader just stopped a drug dealing, near the docks and was about to go back to patrolling but nightwing and Robin show up. They fight for a bit and robin kicks the reader in the water. The reader is exhausted too and passes out. Nightwing sees the reader not coming back up and dives in and rescues him. They take him back to the bat cave, put him in like a cell and the batfam starts questioning him. They find out he’s a kid and a orphan and ALSO knows who they are, bruce decides to adopt him (the reader and Robin not wanting that) but Bruce says something like since the readers just a kid and he already knows their identity, might as well adopt him and keep a eye on him. Thank youuuuu, I hope you can do this! Sorry if it’s a bit much <3
YIPPEE!!! First req in a long time :DD I had to churn this out in like two days so sorry if it feels rushed!
Ahahaha ignore that it’s 1:40 am
**I do not own any characters or part of the franchise from DC**
Pairing: Batfam x male!teen!vigilante!Reader
Genre: found family
Summary: go to req
Tw: brief mention of blood, almost drowning, mention of drugs and drug rings
It’s Called: Freefall
Being a vigilante in Gotham was easy. Easy if you were professionally trained in combat. Easy if you had the money to get every little convenient device you wanted.
Neither of which you were.
Both of which Batman and his posee of underlings were.
Sure you’d picked up what you could being on the street, fending for yourself, sneaking into dojos and boxing gyms to observe and practice later yourself. But in the end, you were just some kid trying to make your way in the vigilante scene. Which led you to the situation you were in currently.
You were crouched on top of two metal shipping crates staring down at the drug deal soon to take place. You squinted through the mixture of darkness and heavy rain. A new drug had recently hit Gotham’s streets and you intended to get your answers and drop the contraband by the police station.
You saw the seller take his position. You readied yourself but waited until the buyer showed up. You needed to be sure they actually had the drugs before you went down guns blazing, cracking skulls and kicking ass.
As soon as you saw the drugs leave the jacket you were on them, jumping from your hiding spot onto the seller, tackling him to the ground. The man yelped in surprise and pain while the buyer started running. You spared the buyer a glance, grunting in annoyance.
“Get the hell off of me you freak!” The seller yelled as you kneeled on his arms and back, pinning him to the ground and grabbing the dropped bag of substances. You sighed as he struggled under you.
“Where’d you get this?” You demanded, increasing the pressure on his back.
“None of your business!” He spat.
“Look, buddy. We can do this the easy way or the hard way. The hard way involves dangling from Wayne enterprises.” You said through grit teeth.
The man seemed to pale at the threat of heights.
“A-a ring leader…we just call him the boss. I swear that’s all I know!” He practically screamed.
“God what a cliché…” You grumbled to yourself, landing a swift blow to his head and knocking him out. You stood up and stretched, groaning.
‘Jesus—my back hurts.’
You brought the bag down to inspect it before shrugging and shoving it into your backpack. You’ll deal with it on the way home. You glanced back down at the unconscious drug hustler.
“Not your day today, buddy.” You said shaking your head.
Then you heard an abnormal sound in the white noise of the rain. A hard thunk on metal. You stilled. Were they really here? Had they searched for you specifically or did they get the same tip as you?
You tensed, preparing. Someone landed behind you and you whipped around to face them.
‘Nightwing.’
‘This is fine. I can handle him…. No. No I definitely can’t. Ok this is fine this is ok.’
“Ready to finally come quietly?” Nightwing flashed a smile.
You returned it with malice. “Never in a million years, boy wonder.” You laughed to yourself.
His smile faltered and he just shrugged.
“Well you brought this upon yourself.” He said and another person jumped down behind you.
You snapped your head in their direction.
‘Robin. The pipsqueak. Great.’
You backed away slowly from both of them, your eyes glancing back and forth between them. They both move at you suddenly. You jump back and dodge one attack from Robin, simultaneously throwing yourself into Nightwing—luckily it caused him to fumble. Your back hit the ground and you grunted in pain. Robin ran at you and you kicked him away from you.
The little caped rat was launched back, skidding to his knees before getting back into an offensive stance. You scrambled to your feet, taking a defensive position. You grit your teeth and glared at him, prepared.
The fight went on for what felt like hours, especially in a two against one.
You spat on the ground; your muscles ached. You saw the flash of red on the asphalt before the rain washed it away. That distracted you enough for Robin to kick you off the dock into the frigid water below.
The water swamped you all at once. The cold seemed to knock all the warmth from your body. You panicked as you sank further and further down, you were so tired. You just wanted to rest. You kicked and flapped your arms desperately but you didn’t feel in control of them. You couldn’t hold your breath anymore. The darkness pulled your mind further from consciousness and you passed out.
⋆﹥━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━﹤⋆
C’mon, Nightwing.” Robin said to the dark haired man who was staring into the water.
“He’s not coming up.” Nightwing responded.
Robin looked at his brother and raised an eyebrow.
“So?” He asked indifferently.
“He’s in trouble.” Nightwing seemed to have made a decision in that answer.
“What does it—.”
Robin was cut off by Nightwint diving into the water.
“Dammit, Grayson!” Robin yelled after Nightwing.
About a minute later, Nightwing emerged.
“You’re an absolute idiot.” Robin spat at Nightwing, helping him back onto the docks with the young vigilante in his arms.
“He was gunna die.” Nightwing retorted.
“Great.” Robin started sarcastically. “Now, since you’ve saved him, you can drop him here and let the cops deal with him.”
“We’re not doing that, Robin.” Nightwing responded, tiredly.
“I don’t like what you’re suggesting.” Robin growled.
“Suggested? I didn’t even say anything.” Nightwing chuckled some.
“You’re implying we take him back to the cave.”
“He could have answers.”
“He’s a cretin. Not even worth the trouble.” Robin grumbled.
“Always glad to hear your opinions.” Nightwing said sarcastically, already heading back towards the Batcave.
Robin rolled his eyes and reluctantly followed.
⋆﹥━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━﹤⋆
You opened your eyes to blaring lights above you.
‘God, what time is it?’
You rolled over to try and shield your eyes from the light.
‘Lights?’
You rubbed your eyes. You felt no mask. Fear spiked your heart. Memory of the drug pickup and fighting two of Batman’s sidekicks and passing out in the water flooded your brain all at once. You shot up and realized you were in a cell.
‘Oh no no no no no no—‘
You quickly stood up and stumbled. You managed to catch yourself on a glass wall.
“He’s awake, circus clown!“
You looked up to see the Red Hood pushing himself off a wall, looking very tired. Your eyes adjusted to the light as he walked to the front of the cell. No point in hiding your face, they’ve all probably seen it. Nightwing joined him, looking a little too pleased for your liking.
“The man himself gunna show up or did he leave his favorite to do his biding for him?” Red Hood asked. However, there didn’t seem to be much bite behind his words.
“I’ve been here, Red Hood.” Batman himself emerged from the shadows with Robin appearing from behind him like a lost puppy. A very…angry puppy.
Red Hood startled some at the sudden appearance, but recovered quickly. The gun wielding vigilante seemed to curse something at Batman but you couldn’t hear.
“Let’s not delay this anymore.” Batman spoke.
You swallowed. His gaze pierced through chest and saw right through you.
‘Start what?’
“What’s your name?” Batman’s voice was gruff.
“Like hell I’d—“ You started.
“Yo! Red Robin!” Red Hood called to the other other Robin somewhere out of your view.
Your full name, alias, and address was listed within the second. Your heart fell to your stomach and crawled back up again. Nausea punched your gut.
“Tell us all you know about the drugs and the ring relating to them.” Batman’s tone wasn’t aggressive, but you weren’t fooled. This was a command.
“Dunno anything…” You slurred out. Christ, you hurt everywhere.
“I don’t believe you.” He responded.
You rolled your eyes. Sure, you were lying but you just wanted to go home. To nap. Oh my god a nap sounded great right now.
“They call it amethyst. It’s a narcotic. It’s new but sweeping the streets fast. That’s all I know.” You grit out.
“Where are your parents, kid?” Batman asked.
“Don’t you know, since you apparently know everything?” You growled at him.
“I do. I just want confirmation from you.” He responded calmly.
“Six feet under at Gotham Cemetery. You can take up my behavioral issues with them. I’m sure they’d be overjoyed to hear about them.” You told him sarcastically.
Batman was quiet, thinking. Robin suddenly seemed to catch onto something.
“No! No! You’re not going to—!” He yelled.
Batman approached the cell and slipped off his cowl. Your eyes widened. You tried to speak but you couldn’t.
“You’re too young to be on your own. You’re younger than my second youngest. How’d you like to live with me and my family?”
You shook your head from you stunned state.
“What!” You gaped.
“No!“
“No!
Both you and Robin exclaimed in unison. Batman—who was apparently Bruce Wayne, by the way—smiled some.
“Seems it’s that or foster care.” He said, seeming to not even consider the possibility of putting you in foster care.
“You’ll fit right in.” Bruce Wayne seemed to find it amusing.
He typed a code into the keypad and the door opened. You blinked and stepped out hesitantly. The other three sidekicks were watching you. One with muted excitement, one with indifference, and one with outrage.
“I’ll get Alfred to set up a room for you. I’m sure you’re tired.” Bruce Wayne said.
Your head was still reeling. Sleep? That sounded more excellent than anything else you could be offered. You sighed. You shouldn’t start composing yet. You just got unofficially adopted by the richest man in the city. Things could be worse, right?

Summary: Someone decides to hold a certain someone accountable for their.... Sins
"Thank you so much for coming, Mr. [ ]"
The woman's lips stretched into a sinister smile as she watched the man sit down in front of her.
"Cut the act, bitch. Where is my wife." His tone showed that he wasn't asking, rather he was-
"Demanding. Hmhm~" The woman giggled, leaning back in her chair, strands of brown and platin blonde brushed past her shoulder and settled behind ehr back, her golden eyes seemingly catlike, trained on the man in front of her as if he were mere prey.
"I told you I'd get to it after our little... Chat" She hummed as she spread the cards, eyes leaving him for a second. "Or do you want me to kill her?" She looked up again through her lashes, bathing in the glares of the man.
Unbeknownst to him she'd never actively harm that woman. She didn't do anything that displeased her.
"Quit dragging this out then and get to the point." the man crossed his arms watching as the woman's nails trailed along the cards. "What do you want, why do you freak have my wife and why should I play this stupid game with you?" He tipped his head back, blue eyes glaring into his opponent.
"Well I just wanted a little talk and fun- say are you familiar with Tarot?" The expression on the brunette's face changed to one of utmost kindness and sweeetness.
"No."
She pouted.
"It can tell you your future, you know. You ask spirit or a god for something and they will tell you an outcome! It's highly fascinating."
"When will you bring me my wife?"
She pursed her lips.
"When I feel like it. Now, I have a question for you and you'll choose the answer by tapping a card."
The man nearly stood up, growling at the woman yet she didn't even bat an eye. With innocence laced eyes she smiled, pointing at the cards.
"Starting off easy; -"
~~~~~~~~~~~
After a few simple questions to get the man into the game, the woman smiled, seemingly satisfied.
"What nice foreplay! Now to the big questions...." A sadistic grin twisted her face and for a second the mam could've sworn he saw his soul burning in her eyes, succumbing to the flames of hell.
"What is your worse fear?"
Furrowing his brows he tapped a card, the slim fingers of the woman traced it before picking it up with a satisfied shriek.
"Three of swords! Separation! Afraid of losing your wife? My, only if you cared enough about your children to feel the same loss, hmm?"
The man's exes narrowed.
"How do you know of my children."
"Oh it was easy Taylor! But I digress" a high pitched laugh erupted from the woman's throat.
"I shouldn't be answering questions, you see. You are. Now then!"
As the woman excitedly went on about the exact separation Taylor was afraid of the man continuously attempted to interrupt her until one sentence fell.
"And this is why I won't be handing over your wife! It is far too funny to see you this pathetic! After all you aren't a real man- your son would qualify- not you th-"
With a loud thud the chair the man was sitting on hit the ground. He abruptly jumped from his chair, taking the woman by the collar of her blouse.
"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY?!"
All she could do was laugh, holding up the Tower, the last card he had touched and flipped unknowingly.
Her eyes widened, pupils turning a poisonous green.
"I believe you heard me just fine! And just so you know- Your little outburst won't stop me from taking everything you have and strip you from the shrivels of... Humanity you have." Her Head tilted sideways in an unnatural way.
"Or did you already forget what pain you caused Ichika? Hannah?.... Or my beloved darling?" The grin fell as her head snapped back in its original place. Her expression serious, she looked even more threatening.
"The tower predicts your downfall. Your end. I will no longer tolerate your pitiful existence."
The woman stood up, nails digging into the flesh of the man.
"I will stain my hands with your blood just so [Redacted] won't have to. You never deserved a wife like Ichika, or children like Hannah and him."
She pushed him off, adjusting her clothes, making her way to the door, leaving the man to stand there dumbfounded. He didn't know how to react, the rage, fear even the uneasiness her stares gave him made him freeze, overloaded with too much fury and fear.
"It was nice having this little chat" She smiled. "I have a few meetings to attend to.. further discuss your careers. Ta-taa~!"
And with that she slipped out of the room.
"Vel...."
Meanwhile someone couldn't quite comprehend what they had just witnessed via the security cams in that room.
Chapter 13
You were sprawled about on Tatum’s spare bed she had in her room, whereas Sidney was tummy-first on her inflatable, seemingly lost in her own thoughts.
“God, I loved it.” Tatum giggled, pulling her blonde hair into a tight ponytail, whilst looking at you, her eyes filled with admiration. “I’ll send you a copy… BAM!” She punched a stuffed bunny that was next to her before picking it up, flinging it all over the place in excitement, “Bitch went down.” She laughed, “The insults had to be my favourite part, though.” She gleamed, tossing the stuffy elsewhere.
You rolled your eyes at her exaggeration, “Tatum, it wasn’t a movie, there shouldn’t be any favourite parts. I punched a person, let alone insulted her outside a police station…”. You sat up from the bed, sitting criss-crossed, propping your arm up on your thigh and resting your chin in the palm of your hand. “I could have been arrested!” You chortled, snorting in the process.
Tatum completely ignored that possibility, her exhilaration being her only muse.
“I’ll send you a copy—BAM! (Y/n), superbitch.” Tatum repeated and in her best you voice she said, “Now, if I were you, I would put that book on hold and shut the fuck up for once.” She placed her hand on her hip, contorting her face into that of someone who was extremely confident.
Your lips formed a thin line, shocked at how she managed to recall the event word-for-word. “I’m actually surprised you were able to remember all that, was it really that impressive?” You quirked a brow, tilting your head, ignoring the sudden pain in your hand.
“Uh, yeah.” She tsk-ed, “I’m certain you’ll be the talk of the school tomorrow.” She giggled. “You’re so cool.” She beamed, batting her lashes.
“I thought you might want some ice for that right hook.” Dewey suddenly appeared in the doorway, tossing you an ice pack.
You caught it with your sore hand, wincing slightly, regretting your instinct to catch it with your dominant one.
“Thanks, Dewey..” You warmly smiled up at him, placing the pack on your knuckles and instant relief was felt.
You laid back down, your head hitting the pillow.
“I’ll be right next door. Try to get some sleep, girls.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Tatum groaned, waving her hand at her older brother, motioning him to leave.
You turned on your side, looking at Sidney and a ping of guilt washed over you, yet again that night.
She was distraught, and she looked uncomfortable, most likely because of the argument you both shared with each other earlier at school, and how you gave her the cold shoulder at the Police Station, silently scolding her for the ridiculousness of believing that her own boyfriend would try to kill her.
You frowned, a wave of gloominess lingering in the air as you let the ice pack fall to the ground.
“Sidney?” You whisper, trying to get her attention.
She shuffles, not wanting to talk, but she soon groans, turning to face you.
“Yeah?” She questions.
“I’m sorry.” You pout, rubbing at your orbs. “I shouldn’t have said those things at school, and I shouldn’t have scolded you at the police station.” You mumbled, “You’re a person; you have feelings and those feelings are valid and they always will be.” You finished.
Sidney’s eyes grew, not sure how to process everything, but she soon smiled, and for once, she didn’t feel like you were the bad guy and that everything will be okay.
“It’s fine, (Y/n). Apology accepted…” She trailed, “Though, you were right, I had no business to go through your journal and call you names when my mother was something else…” She gulped, “I don’t know what got over me… and I am truly sorry.” She twiddles with her thumbs, looking at you with hopeful hues, as if she was begging for your forgiveness, and in ways, she was. Afterall, you did punch a woman for both her sake and yours.
Tatum cheered, glad that her two best friends made up. “Jeez, I’m thankful you both apologized to one another because I was starting to get bummed out in my own home.” She laughs. “On a more serious note…” Tatum changes the subject, her curiosity getting the better of her. “Do you really think Billy did it?”
Sidney’s smile soon faded, “He was there, Tatum..” Her voice trembled.
Tatum rolled her eyes, “He was destined to have a flaw, I knew he was too perfect.” She whined.
Knock… Knock…Knock…
Rapid knocking at Tatum’s bedroom door was heard and this caught everyone's attention.
Tatum looked at the door, seeing it open, revealing her mother, Mrs. Riley, “Telephone, honey.”
“Who is it?” The blonde asks.
“It’s for Sid…”
“Is it my dad?” Sidney popped up from off the floor, looking over yours and Tatum’s bed.
“I don’t think so.”
“Take a message?” You chirped in.
“No, um, I’ll get it.” Sidney looks at you and Tatum, indicating for the both of you to follow her.
“Gotcha..” You mouthed at her, grabbing ahold of Tatum’s hand, forcing her to get up and follow you towards Sidney and the three of you went out the door.
--
Sidney placed the phone up against her ear, her nerves screaming to be let out, “H-Hello?” She stutters.
“Hello, Sidney.” The killer spoke.
“NO, NO!” She yells, gripping the sides of her head.
You and Tatum rushed to her side, holding her, keeping her from freaking out anymore.
“Poor Billy-boyfriend.”
Sidney quickly placed the phone down, clicking the speaker button, so everyone could hear.
“An innocent guy doesn’t stand a chance with you.”
“Leave me alone!” She yells, starting to hyperventilate.
“DEWEY!” Mrs. Riley rushes off to get her son.
“Looks like you fingered the wrong guy…Again.”
“Who are you?”
“Hang up, Sid.” Tatum ushers her friend as you rubbed her arm, trying to support her.
“Don’t worry, Sidney. You’ll find out soon enough. I promise.” The killer gloats, taking a heavy-breath. “Oh, and (Y/n), Sweetheart, I hope you found the gift a real heart stopper~”
𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐘
Pairing: Eddie x F!Reader
Summary: One night you hear a noise and go to check, finding your neighbor talking to stray cats.
Warnings: a bit of fluff
It was late at night, but since you couldn't sleep, you were sitting on the picnic table in front of the trailer where you lived with your family.
Looking up to the sky you could see stars shining in the sky and some bats flying in circles.
You had always liked night and the calm atmosphere that created when everyone went to sleep and silence fell, you felt more at ease at night.
Just as you were about to go back inside, you heard a voice coming from behind one of the trailers. The Munson trailer, you recognized.
You and Eddie were in same math class but he'd only shown up twice since the beginning of the year, he'd taken a seat at the back of the class and you were pretty sure he'd spent the entire hour doing something else than paying attention.
Drawing, reading or preparing the next D&D campaign, maybe.
You'd never talked to Eddie, even though he was friends with Dustin and Mike,the kids you had babysat for years when they were younger, and even though he lived only a few feet away from you, but not for the same reason that most people at school didn't.
You knew what they said about him, that he was the leader of a satanic cult, that he made human sacrifices and that he was a "freak" but you never really believed it. Mostly because you were sure Dustin wasn't part of a cult but also because Eddie seemed like a good guy despite what everyone else at school (and in all Hawkings) thought.
Dustin once told you that Eddie was one of the only people who was nice to him at school, besides you.
You jumped off the table and headed for the source of the sound. You put a hand against the wall of the trailer and peered behind it to see what was going on.
The scene you faced was honestly some of the cutest shit I've seen in your entire life.
Eddie was sitting on the ground, lit by the dim light from a streetlight not far from him, a black and white cat was clambering onto his lap as Eddie ran his ringed fingers through its fur with a grin on his face.
He wore a red flannel shirt, the sleeves rolled up to the elbows showing the tattoos on his arms, and dark jeans.
His hair fell to the sides of his face as he leaned towards the cat, clearly he hadn't heard or seen you coming.
"Hey sweety" he said while the cat was purring "I'm sorry but today for you I only have some pizza crusts, tomorrow morning I'll bring you something else okay?"
You noticed the plastic plate containing the remains of what had probably been Eddie's dinner lying on the ground. In that moment another cat popped out from behind Eddie's back and rubbed against his arm emitting a soft "meow".
That one was much smaller than the other, he couldn't have been more than a few months old. The fur on its ears was so long for such a small cat that it looked like he had a pair of little horns.
“Hi to you too,” Eddie chuckled as his other hand stroked the space between its ears.
You didn't even realize you were standing there and watching the scene with a stupid smile on your lips.
The way a person treats animals says so much about them and at that moment Eddie was telling you that he were the least scary person on the face of the earth. And that he was sweet.
"That's cute." You said, finally getting his attention.
Eddie's head snapped in your direction and he suddenly leapt to his feet, nearly knocking the orange cat off his knees.
"Hey, uhm...I...." He stammered scratching the back of his head with one hand, almost as if he was embarrassed.
Oh. Was Eddie Munson embarrassed?
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"I heard a sound and came to see what was going on." You explained and he just nodded like a kid caught stealing candy.
"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone that the tough and metal Eddie Munson talks to cats." You added, and when he looked up and saw you laughing, he did the same.
The black and white cat walked towards you and rubbed against your leg. You crouched down to pet it.
"They don't have a house, or a family" Eddie explained. "And so they have no food. These two aren't the only ones, I know there are at least four others in this area. I try to leave as much food as possible back here but a lot of times I don't have enough for all of them."
They don't have a house, or a family, he tought. They were a bit like him, maybe that was why he cared so much for them.
When you took your hand away from the cat, he pushed his muzzle back against it. Eddie chuckled and you realized you liked the sound of his laugh.
"That's very nice of you. Do they have names?"
"I call her Ozzy." He said pointing to the cat next to you.
The black spots around the cat's eyes really looked like the dark glasses the Black Sabbath singer always wore, you realized.
Her name was spot on.
"And this is Angus" He nodded at the smaller cat who approached you and sniffed your hand reluctantly.
"Hi Angus." You said as he nibbled on your finger.
Eddie laughed as you tried to take your hand away from him.
"You have such cute little horns" you talked to the kitten, "And you're almost as small as the real Angus."
Eddie's face basically lit up. "There's no way you got the reference!"
"Ozzy Osbourne with his glasses and Angus Young with horns and his small stature? Try something harder."
If it was possible, Eddie smiled even more. "I didn't know you liked that kind of music."
"There are many things you don't know about me. We've never talked before." You said.
"Well, I'd like to do it more from now on. You're not what I thought." He confessed.
"And what did you think?" You asked.
"That you were like the others at school. But you're not." He said. Henderson wasn't wrong about you, after all.
"Did you think I was like the cheerledears? Should I be offended?" You asked, but your tone was playful. "Do you think they would dress like this?" You pointed to the ripped jeans that you had quickly put on before going out that night and the boots that you hadn't even zipped up.
He raised his hands in apology. "I humbly apologize, m'lady. Even the best make mistakes sometimes."
You laughed. "Well, you are as I thought." You said.
"Scary?" He asked, his voice changed slightly in tone. Most people think that of him at school. And not just at school. He knew how even in town people talked about him and sometimes he just pretended he didn't care about it.
You shook your head. "A good person."
The smile on his lips was back.
That's not metal. That's not metal at all, Eddie thought.
He'd been caught talking to cats, and now he was smiling like a stupid at a girl he barely knew.
No, definitely not metal. But that didn't stop him.
You stood up picking up Ozzy who was still on top of you and deposited her on the ground.
"I think we should go to sleep now. It must be almost 1 a.m." You announced as you watched the cats approach the plate of pizza crusts.
Eddie looked at the watch on his wrist. "Yeah, you're probably right."
"Well, then... see you in math class, if you'll ever decide to show up."
"Maybe, sooner or later." he shrugged. "Goodnight, Y/N."
"Night, Eddie." You walked up to your trailer and Eddie followed you with his eyes, you gave him one last look to see he was still smiling slightly, before going back inside.
That night, in your bed, the last thing on your mind before falling asleep was: you heard Eddie Munson call a cat "sweety".
In his bed Eddie thought maybe now he had a good reason to show up for math class.
I think the worst one for his family to find out about him healing would be if he said, "I did have to use some of my feathers to survive the Titans Tower attack." While refusing to look at Jason. Or maybe he could mention that due to being a bird, his bones are hollow and more fragile than humans. What if he had unknown to his family used a feather during training? Just. One of them managed to hit him in the side of the head and Tim goes down. But a few moments later he's up and holding the side of his head where they hit him, groaning. Whoever did it gets a lecture and Tim is benched until his "concussion" is healed.
I also love your thing about Tim not being able to feel the positive emotions as deeply either. It's heart breaking but makes sense. I wonder if his refusal to show anger or joy would lead to his family thinking he has some kind of neurological disorder where he physically can't feel those emotions as strongly and try to send him to therapy so that he can get some kind of medication to help with that.
I currently have two ideas for how the family could find out and neither are pleasant for anyone involved. On the one hand, Tim catching the attention of Scarecrow because his fear gas doesn't seem to effect him as much (it does, but Tim's greatest fear in this one is loosing control of his emotions and letting his instincts take over so as soon as he gets gassed he's trying to keep everything under control so he can "hide his wings again" even though they never came out) so he ends up making an extra powerful version juuust for Tim that would have even Bruce kicking and screaming. He lures the Bats into his hide out with some canisters of regular fear gas and then somehow manages to get Tim with a dart full of the special formula.
Of course everyone freaks out as Tim's breathing picks up speed and he starts to back away from them, pulling into himself. They try to say things but he clearly can't hear them as he covers down and whimpers about something needing to go away, that no one is allowed to see it, that no one can *know*. Scarecrow isn't happy though and yells, "scream! Why aren't you screaming?! You're the only one I've never heard *scream*!" Bruce takes down Scarecrow quickly and hauls him out of the room so they can focus on Tim, trying to get near him. But when Dick touches his arm to try and ground him, a panic that Tim can't possibly smother races through him and he lashes out, claws and wings extending as he tries to get away. Tim screams at them, "NO I WONT BE SOLD FOR WHAT I AM, ILL KILL YOU!"
Then on the other hand, possibly even worse, some poachers come around Gothem with a device that scans for magical creatures. They don't know who this guy with black hair and blue eyes In a suit is and they don't care. They don't have any idea what he is either, beyond that he's a paycheck if they can grab him. Tim doesn't fight back really hard when they come for him, thinking that it's his turn with the monthly family kidnapping of some idiot who went "if I kidnap a Wayne I can ransom them to Bruce for a lot of money". It's not until the car door closes and he feels the magical wards around the van that he begins to truly panic and fight, but the wards are up and doing their job, acting as a powerful sedative that Tim has no defense against as he slips unconscious. When he wakes up, it's his worst nightmares come to life. He's stuck in a cage and his Glamor is gone and there are people leering at him and talking about how much money a *thing* like him will make them.
By the time the Bats manage to get there though, Tim has been sold off to the highest bidder and the Bats are informed that these people only deal in Magical Creatures. They tell the Bats that it's no wonder they didn't know what he is because his species hold what they are as their deepest secret. After all, they inform the Bats, the poachers did sell the Phoenix to Circe herself for 6 million dollars.
Both of those are absolutely delectable. I am more partial to the Scarecrow one (just cause ofnTim having some type of "immunity" which inspires Scarecrow to increase his formula is a really interesting concept).
The poachers one is super cool too! There's a ton of ways that can unfold. I am curious if the device they use is rare/expensive. Otherwise, lots of folks could figure him out.
The tidbit you added about the fragile bones is devastating. Poor Tim is just trying to live his life when the hits he takes do more damage to him than the others (which can add onto his angst of not being enough).
