Yuma’s friend group is a bit better than I remember

I still don’t like Bronk/Tetsuo or the class rep guy but Kotori, while still boring, does have a pretty decent dynamic with Yuma and I actually really like Flip and Cathy. They were introduced to the audience as they were introduced to Yuma which I feel makes them more defined and memorable. They’re also both pretty funny and sympathetic.

As a Zexal fan I love the fact that every other Zexal fan violently hates Flip Turner/Tokunosuke Omoteura. Like that's just a little guy. Just a little crime dude. Might cause a little mischief, get into a little trouble. What are you gonna do with him?

any other flipheads out there? anyway here's my oddly specific yugioh zexal headcanons for flip turner that i have after watching a total of three episodes:

One of his Flip's parents died when he was a young child (before he was bullied) and the other forced him to move on very quickly.

This is also why his room has remained the same since he was a child, his home life is very stagnant.

The older kids who bullied him were the kids of one of his parent's friends. When they stole his cards, his remaining parent didn't want to do anything about it as to not rock the boat.

Because of all of the above he is very emotionally self-reliant, and has no real friends. Yuma doesn't count for a long time until he does.

He's a gamer, and Yugioh is not his main thing.

His mom's side of the family is the most normal people ever but his dad's side is full of the most batshit crazy people you've ever seen and half of them are from the circus, because there's a flipside to everything.

the internet taught him how to make a pipebomb when he was like seven. he hasn't done it yet but he can if desired. he also learned how to commit wire fraud (did that once) and how to lockpick (he does this a lot)
