FUBURYO fans rise up! I Just got back from Anime Nebraskon 2024 and had a great time as NightShroud! I even had TWO Ryo's to play with!

Why I like them/why I don't.

Asurin my wife!! She's so confident and sassy in both languages. She knows she's more than a pretty face but still uses beautiful feminine monsters to ruthlessly bring the pain!!

What I like about their appearance

Aside from her being just so beautiful, I love the intensity of her expressions when she gets serious!

Do I prefer their dub names or sub names

I personally call her Asuka (or variations of it), but I grew up with the dub so I have a fondness for calling her Lex

I'm equally fond of Valentine shipping and Tomorrow Shipping, but I kinda feel like Valentine shipping is funnier with Manjoume just hopelessly chasing her so I lean towards Tomorrow Shipping. She and Jim are both such strong yet sweet and independent people. They are very much the logical ones but they also could balance each other out. Asuka has a temper and Jim could calm her down without escalation, and I feel like Jim's the kinda guy who'd bring 'dangerous' animals home to rehabilitate and Asuka would be able to convince him to actually let them go back to the wild when the time comes.

Fiance shipping is just not my thing. She's too down to earth for Jaden, and I know he levels out a little, but he would get on her nerves too much for it to last.

Hmmm this is gonna come out of left field considering my other answers, but I feel like if you take Jim/Asuka/Sarina(Mizuchi) could be really fun. It feels like an early 2000s anime set up where you have the mystical psychics and the normal girl 😅

I also feel like adding Sarina gives it some softness since the other two are rugged outdoorsy jock types.

Her first duel with Jaden really just cemented her as cool, actually the whole first episode dedicated to her character was great and made me love her. (I also love her on duel monsters spirit day chasing her brother while dressed as a Harpie Lady)
