when rafe’s coach told the team about the new transfer coming from state, he was impressed.

lucas semme is a pretty well-known player in college ball. rafe figured that he’d be a good addition to the team. he might even increase their chances of winning this year’s championship.

he has no problem with the new guy. until he does.

the first game lucas plays, they’re deep into the second quarter against the hawks when rafe notices it. the opposing team’s coach calls a time-out and rafe looks back at his guys to form a huddle. then he sees lucas looking over at the cheerleaders.

she’s laughing at something one of her friends just said and rafe notices lucas smiling as he looks at her. he sees red when lucas steps closer to the edge of the court, sparking a conversation with her.

“let’s go!” rafe shouts loudly. lucas’s eyes widen when he realizes his new captain is yelling directly at him.

the guys form a huddle on their side of the court and rafe immediately lays into the new guy.

“what the hell are you doing?” rafe mutters to lucas. “don’t talk to their cheerleaders.”

“sorry,” lucas says. “i didn’t know the rivalry was that serious.”

“it’s not about that,” one of the other players says in a low tone.

rafe shoots him a hard look and he laughs nervously. rafe talks game for the next minute, pointing out the opponents’ weaknesses, before the game resumes.

when they break, rafe overhears lucas get the rundown.

“just don’t talk to that cheerleader if you don’t want cameron to go ballistic,” he says.

rafe is glad they know what’s his. even though his relationship with her is strictly physical, she’s off limits to the guys on his team.

he can mess around with whoever he wants and so can she, but he tries not to think about the latter too much. and he doesn’t want any of his teammates to lay a damn finger on her.

after the game, rafe comes over to her dorm, his hair still wet from his shower.

“that was a good game,” she says when he enters her room. “what do you think of the new guy?”

“nothing special,” rafe mutters.

he’s usually passionate in bed, but it still takes her aback how aggressively and impatiently he starts to strip her clothes off. they’ve barely exchanged two sentences.

“someone’s eager,” she breathes as he tips his head to kiss her neck, her body going hot.

he almost wants to ask if she’s seeing any other guys. but ignorance is bliss in this case.

“put that skirt on,” rafe mutters against her skin, his hands dragging up her back.

“what?” she laughs.

“put it on.”

she lets him tell her what to do, slipping on her cheerleading skirt and wearing nothing else. he lays her down on her bed, hovering over her, his fingers in the fabric of the pleats of her skirt as it rests on her hips.

rafe is sure the new guy isn’t the only one who likes her, who imagines her naked. he bets his whole team would love a shot with her.

but as he pushes into her, both of them gasp in pleasure as soon as they meet, and he’s high on the feeling that only he gets her like this.

moments like these, he wants to tell her that she’s his, but he knows she’s not, so he only thinks it.

YESSS ABSOLUTELY OMG I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED

Obviously first off, the legs and current lack thereof, my thoughts immediately drift to how he lost them in the first place, since most of the other effects of the experiments seem additive? I imagine that it's more like the vestigial pelvic/leg bones found in whales. Maybe in the process of growing the tail and all the new bones involved his body started cannibalizing (for lack of a better word) the calcium from his legs? Which would essentially give him osteoporosis from the waist down which would cause a LOT of pain when walking, and start a cycle of avoiding walking until his leg muscles atrophied, making it harder, so on and so forth until they're completely unusable and wither away.

This was undoubtedly an extremely drawn out and painful process, especially at first, but since he's noted to be extremely agile and fast I think he'd have taken to using his snake portion and learned to slither to compensate as soon as it was possible to do so! Even though this would obviously reduce the strain, the ambient pain would still persist, even after the legs were fully gone because brains are funny and will enforce "normalcy" even if that means fake pain in nonexistent limbs :(

I also headcanon that the extra arm was originally part of a pair- just because of the fact that all of the DNA that was part of the experiments has bilateral symmetry*- and that it was amputated either due to an accident during the handyman work they had him doing, or an... "Accident"... so there's a decent chance of more phantom limb syndrome there. (I'm not going to include details in this post, but if I follow up with sh headcanons they'll be tagged and under a readmore)

*obviously we don't know what the redacted portion is for certain, but I think its the same thing that gives extra eyes to the angler variants and Pandemonium.

I absolutely could go on about the neurological effects of these new different body parts and his adaptations to them but for the sake of keeping this post cohesive and wrapping it up I'll have to do it another time lol

i also rly like the idea that kadaj is more human/childlike than seph and post ac au when seph returns she returns with memories of having been kadaj. with all the insecurity and teenagedness and rawness of being removed from a godly existence. (in a similar way to where some ppl believe jesus/god in christian belief incarnated as a human to know what it was like) And also with the memory of being held by cloud in that way 🤠👍

Also @dykesferatu has a big brain beautiful interpretation where kadaj contains elements of cloud (the insecurity, desire for (motherly) validation, desire to prove himself etc) and is proof that seph contains elements of cloud the same way cloud contains elements of seph (s cells and stuff) I LOVE IT A LOT... THEYRE MIXED UP..... They're forever leaving scars and parts of themselves inside each other... Guh....

OMG yesss a great addition to the au 👏 maybe all this time with Alanna and the boys in Dorne helped Helaena get used to being touched, without her dragon dreams and nightmares happening in a bad way and being ignored like they did for so long. Alanna asks about it one night, after she noticed that Helaena tensed up like she used to be when she arrived, when she saw her mother again. She's sits and listens as Helaena tries to articulate why she reacts the way she does with touch, especially if there's a reminder of the Red Keep, braiding her hair and adding little beads and bells, knowing that the jingle of them soothes Helaena at times. Alanna asks her if her mother touching her as she is now may help her grow more comfortable with her here, a simple gesture of hair is as good a start as any. Helaena just hums and pulls her in for a kiss, silently asking to end the topic. Alanna makes her forget, and ruins the braids she just did 😉 but the next morning when Helaena shyly asks Alicent if she'd help with her hair, Alanna smiles encouragingly at her wife, before grabbing little Jaehaera's hand and offering a walk in the water gardens to find where little Maelor, Myriah and Maron ran off to.

The performances (part 1):

Austria: The audience singing along! Iconic performance (as i expected from the semi)! Also, ugh

Portugal: Yesss I loved this song so much in the semi's!! The opening with the lights is so cool! The dancing also looks very fun. This is definitely going into my playlist. Haha that *intense clapping*

Switzerland: remo has such a cute face in addition to an amazing voice, jealous. I the choreography with the ropes but i think the performance could have been a bit more, idk how but now it is okay instead of great.

Poland: Hmmm... (lol cornald maas: solo by blanka who is not solo on stage). Idk why but her baybeh sounds frog like. The blanka on the screen is uhm a choice. This song is just an okay very clean/smooth popsong but it is not eurovision.

Serbia: unpoplar opinion i think but i'm not a fan of this song/performance. Techno just isn't my thing. His outfit is fire tho. Why is he whispering? Also the 'helLOo?' Is very funny to me. Despite not being my style i think this song has the right eurovision weirdness! Loved the giggle towards the end :)

France: excited for this because i really like this song! Her outfit is sooo cool!! Okay but what is that massve glitter tent doing at her feet?? Oh it is gone good. Ramblings about God of War: Angrboda and Freya addition!

YESSS OMG IVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS.

Okay okay okay this might be shorter but I'm working on two posts currently so, uhm, sorry for that.😎

As soon as Freya met Atreus, she treated him like family. She quickly became his mother figure that he desperately needed. He needed someone other than Kratos to take care of him. They are practically inseparable.

Then Atreus meets Angrboda, brings her with him everywhere he goes, so she's gonna meet Freya eventually, yeah?

Angrboda has no family other than Gryla. So, she needs a new and improved mother figure. Who do you think that's gonna be? FREYAAAAA. Whenever Atreus brought Angrboda to go meet his family (ofc he did this do not @ me on that they will eventually go say hi to Kratos and Freya and Mimir) they totally met eachother. And Freya, being the loving mother figure she tried so hard to be for baldur, is bound to get really close to Angrboda.

Freya and Angrboda are like, the perfect mother/daughter dynamic. THEY COULD TEACH EACHOTHER MAGICCCCC. Omg Freya knows Vanir magic and Angrboda knows Giant magic and they would totally be so interested in it. Whenever they would try to teach eachother Atreus would be so confused just staring at them like🧍🏻💀

I dont have much to say about this one, unfortunately 😭 idk but it would be absolutely amazing if we saw more of Angrboda and Freya in the next games (if we have any, it seemed pretty ended to me ngl.)

I honestly don't really pay attention to achievement/trophies, so no. hdskjsdjk unless they clue me in to there being an extra scene or additional ending I missed, and then a lot of times I'll try to swing back! so: depends? for the sake of a challenge, no, for the sake of a story, yes

7. A series you’ve lost interest in

I've always had an on-again, off-again relationship with Pokemon, simply because I play Pokemon in the most absurd, lengthy way possible, so I used to play about every other game. but now I'd rather look on and see the cool new critters without ever playing them myself dfjkdkld

11. Do you prefer ‘blank slate’ main characters you make yourself or otherwise project onto, or characters with a set personality and backstory?

I wrote up like five paragraphs about this and then realized they were kind of misunderstanding the question and focusing too much on the phrase "otherwise project onto", so the short answer is: set personality and backstory! I really don't like roleplaying or making up OCs, haha.

but, the more complicated answer is I have a really soft spot in my heart for characters with some sort of set personality and backstory, but not much. characters that are kind of just bare-boned and you fill in the blanks on your journey with them. Like, I'm playing through BOTW and maybe it'll prove me wrong, but frankly Link's characterization is pretty simple and sparse. I love that shit, because it helps me fully embrace making decisions for him, and kind of fill in my own blanks on his personality and stuff while playing the game itself.

This was something I found really fun in Av1 and Av2 - I remember taking breaks to heal the Av2 party on the way to Seri, and I finally gave Iya the honey butter biscuit item, and I pretended they were having a picnic. I like when little unscripted, player-imagined or decided gameplay moments get to fill in the blanks between existing personality traits or scenes.

& this is also something I'm working on in my current game dev project, away in the woods! I'm really trying to write a kind of outline of a character for the player to fill in as they explore the woods and make decisions for her, because that's a really special gameplay experience to me.
