Hi @devil-acid! Your artwork is just incredibly colourful and gorgeous and has inspired me to continue creating for this fandom. I admire you a lot, so I wrote this short piece for you as part of the Fan Joy July challenge based on your artwork. I hope that’s okay!

“Ssh,” says Hyrule, as Wind draws in a breath. “Don’t say anything.” Wind’s mouth closes with a soft clop. He hunches over the little patch of blossoms that are tipped towards the sun in the corner of the woods. The soft pink petals seem to glisten as they reflect the shine from Hyrule’s wings— Because somehow, the traveller has wings. “You’re sitting in a flower,” Wind says, choking up. He cups the plant in his hands. Hyrule beams up at him. He’s so small. “Yeah,” he says. “It’s a secret to everybody. Do you promise not to tell?” “I promise.” Wind can’t hide the wonder in his voice when he says, “you’re a fairy.” The wings flutter at that, quick and bright, sending kaleidoscopes of light spinning across the flower. Wind’s eyes are so round they hurt. Hyrule looks unbothered. Are the extra appendages so intrinsically a part of him that it was an unconscious movement? Can he not see the way that he shines?  “Sort of,” the traveller responds. “Not technically? Or, maybe technically but not biologically? I don’t know how to explain. It’s just a spell.” “You’re a fairy,” Wind repeats, still awestruck. Hyrule laughs. It's the same laugh that Wind’s heard from across the campfire for months now, but now there’s a sound like a bell laid on top of it, chiming clear and high, and his wings thrum. The air ripples, just a little, in ways that are difficult to notice but hard to forget. “Do you think you can carry me back to camp?” Hyrule asks. His face is the size of Wind’s thumbnail. A little tentative. A little hopeful. “Sure,” says Wind. “Why? Don’t feel like walking?” He holds out his hands and Hyrule flits over, reaching for his fingers for balance. It’s bewildering, watching their traveller curl both arms around his pinky. The touch is light and almost unnoticeable, but the glow of his wings becomes even more apparent lighting up the cradle of Wind’s palm. He’s like a tiny star. He’s even warm. “Something like that,” Hyrule says. “It’s a bit too far to fly.” Wind watches the way he’s holding his right leg, stiff and white-knuckled, and quietly vows to shove a red potion at him as soon as they get back to camp. He lifts Hyrule away from the sun-kissed patch of flowers as gently as he can.

“Do you glow?” Wind asked. He waved his Picto Box in Legend’s face, who jumped back, disgruntled.  “Do I what?” “The captain says mermaids glow,” the kid repeated.  “The captain’s telling fibs,” Legend said flatly. Wind stuck out his tongue. He retaliated in kind.  “I’ve got fairy lights in my pack,” Wind offered. He shoved his arm inside the bag quickly and emerged with a long string. “We could… make mermaids glow.” “...It would serve the captain right,” Legend considered. * Legend flicked his webbed ears irritably and drifted a little in the current. Wind had taken a few hasty photos and then vanished into the abyss above for air, supposedly. He was taking a while. Legend blew out a few bubbles of air, then pushed upwards. “Sailor?” The merman’s head slipped out of the water without a ripple. Behind him, his tail twirled and twisted, loose in the dark lake, lit up in bright strips of gold by the fairy lights Wind had wound around him. Legend propped his head on his arms by the lake’s edge and peered over Wind’s shoulder, trying to see the screen of the Picto Box. “I feel like a decorated tree,” he grumbled. Wind shot him a glance out of the corner of his eye. “You don’t look like a decorated tree,” the kid said quietly. “You look like…” “What?” “Like a magical fish,” Wind admitted. “Also like you might eat me.” “Gimme that.” Legend shoved him with one cold wet forearm and snatched the Picto Box away. He slid further down into the water as he squinted at the photo. “It’s not half bad—” he started, taken aback by the glow of the fairy lights on his pink scales and warm skin. Even the jewellry adorning his hands glinted sharp and gold in the shadowy water. He’d insisted on holding the Master Sword in the shot, too, because he knew how much it would piss Sky off even though she was a magical blade, wasn’t she? A bit of water wouldn’t hurt her. The engravings on the hilt reflected the light, and so did his eyes— “Oh,” he said. Wind popped up next to him. “Right?” he agreed. “You’re a bit scary.” Legend hadn’t realised his eyes turned that colour when he wore the mermaid skin. Maybe it was a trick of the light, but they shone in the dim water, bright violet, the whites of his eyes almost red against his hair and gills. He brushed a dripping finger over the photo. The triforce was in his eyes. He looked wild. He looked like a princeling of ocean storms and swarms of golden fish. Wind had captured his neck at such an angle that it looked impossibly slender, frilled, with the divot of his collarbones naked in the pool of his throat.  “I do look a bit like I might eat you,” he said. He snapped his teeth at Wind, playful. The kid yelped and then shoved him, laughing.

It's not mermay yet but I just had the sudden need to draw merman Legend, so this is that and also me doing lighting practice. Idk if I like it all that much but it took forever and I'm proud enough of it so like, yayy!!

The colors and like, design are inspired by @bokettochild (I think it's them, but just in case it's not FlamingIdiot on ao3)'s fic You're Not Alone (https://archiveofourown.org/works/52216039) design for him, because the way he was described just -

Aryll was captivated and so was I, so I knew I had to draw him like that.

Just wanna start by saying THIS. THIS OPENING. Killed me instantly. ↓ ↓ ↓ owie ow ow

Oz’s guilt and self blame loom over the story like a guillotine it makes me SICK. Honestly I just want to gush over how soul sucking and painful it was to read this?? The story’s atmosphere is hopelessly heavy, dragging you into the same pit of despair as Oz while he searches for why everything happened and why it happened to him, until he can only blame himself. even though he's just a kid and there was nothing- nothing he could have done. Oz did everything he could, and failed. (how this all ties into the title arughh)

But even after Oz lists all the things he maybe maybe could have done differently, after blaming himself? Only to quietly admit "it's not fair..." that line has nested itself into my heart and is rotting me from the inside out.

small tangent but I love how the text is used to frame some of the panels. Like the part with Jeff, where the text is both a wall and a blindfold? And the part after, where Oz is laying in bed at and his description of the rabbit is boxing him in. (kinda like the closet in the next page) It's just very nice (Also "the meat inside sloshing" brought out such a visceral reaction for me 10/10 hate it)

The art was also super fucking good omg. I always talk about this when I ramble about art but all the lighting is so good the way you used the rabbit's eyes as a spotlight was so clever the way the rabbit's looks the same way at Oz as it does it's meal fknjwsfeik dakjwbsajdbk

And the section where the style changes were good they remind me of analog horror videos PLUS they look so legit?! The tv fuzz and pixelation effect look great (also haha love the go go go part *twirls hair* it's like I was hit with a shotgun blast)

Also it's horrible how you could also always sense the rabbits presence even when it's not there it still was watching stalking instilling paranoia. Uh well until the last page where it already accomplished it's goal. The ending completly drained me btw I was standing in the corner of my room like I was in the blair witch project

Additional into: I had to put my phone down and walk away when I saw this. Evil evil addition

So long story short yay good comic enjoyed very much yay yayy!!!

LAST SONG: THERE'S ONE THAT HAUNTS ME. I heard it a week or so ago, I was shuffling through a citypop song's specific spotify playlist, and I heard one with a chorus that, in english, went "Businessman always tries his best, [something something something] hard, I guess". I missed noting what song it was, and I haven't found it since....!!!

LAST MOVIE: LMAO Rab Ne Bana di Jodi last night and it ROCKED it was really fun. Yet Again srk is playing a guy I might as well have written, the songs were really fun, Anushka Sharma was GREAT as the female lead, a wonderful breakout role for her, VERY fun. a @viiioca certified G'raha Tia ass movie indeed.

SWEET/SPICY/SAVORY: Savory, sweet, spicy in that order. My spice tolerance is unfortunately really low, and I prefer 'sharp' spices over 'hot' ones.

RELATIONSHIP STATUS?: I am single! I love yapping and napping and would welcome finding someone to do that with. all that is to say flora i'm a virgo if you're out there -

CURRENT OBSESSION: I've finally developed a workflow I like so I've been putting together outfits for Angeline like crazy!! I'd been slowly collecting mods I was interested in for the past several months, but I was bricked up in actually Doing anything with them. Now it's much easier to! While it's brought its challenges (like 'now how do we Hyperfocus Safely?), it's also been insanely rewarding!!

first of all, im absolutely gushing from all of the soft moments in ch9: feyd nearly crying from being cared for, paul helping feyd with his nightmares, and feyd being protective/caring in both the breakfast scene and throughout the spice field inspections :333. It was all VERY adorable and paul finally being unhesitating about his sexual relationship with feyd and them communicating (both implicitly with paul reading feyds body language and explicitly with paul making feyd ask for what he wants), it's all very rewarding in general :)

Also, ive just been thinking nonstop about all the stuff going on with paul. so, my first theory about pauls exhaustion was because he was staying up because of feyds nightmares waking up but then i re-read it and saw paul was tired even before they shared a bed, and then i remembered that lack of sleep is a common symptom of pregnancy so thats my leading theory rn, that OR paul is staying up late reading lol. im also so interested in what paul and lady jessica are plotting, they mentioned controlling feyd and learning more about him in the beginning and then theres the date palm scene. I remember in the movies that date palms are definitely on arrakis so my first thought was that feyd was being a paranoid little freak about it but then i thought lady jessica might be trying to assess pauls health or something?? its safe to say im super hyped for the paul POV

I love your questions ☺️. Omg yay!!! I’m so glad you liked the chapter. I always have a crisis of confidence when I post new chapters 🙃. Yesss. The softness. Feyd cutting the fruit and making sure Paul eats was one of my favorite moments from the chapter. It’s so hard to write moments of tenderness from him without it seeming out of character. And then he can never be honest with himself about why he’s doing things or why certain things are making him feel certain ways. Man. This guy. Feyd used his words FINALLY!!! And yes!! I’m so happy for Paul. Starting to enjoy himself. It’s so important.

Okee so here’s what I can say. You aren’t wrong about any of your guesses per say. It’s been such a joy to write from Paul’s pov because he’s a much more emotionally evolved person so I can write him being like “ah yes. This is making me feel this way!”. So one of the biggest reasons for Paul’s exhaustion is that he has been having dreams. Some of them good, some of them pretty disturbing. And yes, we will be seeing them in the next chapter. He is also (not really a spoiler cause it’s in the tags) pregnant! Another big reason! That’s going to be a plot point of the next chapter as well.

Lol the date palm scene!! You’re right on both counts. Feyd is being a paranoid little freak. He’s like “they are speaking in code!!” No you weirdo, they are talking about date palms. However, I am going to give him a little credit because he did pick up on the weird energy of the scene which is basically due to Jessica trying to draw Paul out of his funk. She’s worried about him and thinks he’s not doing well, and she’s trying to cheer him up and also trying to subtly (probably too subtly) signal to Feyd to do the same. Which he kinda gets! Cause he then invites Paul to come with him on inspection and Jessica is like “thank fucking god you are so fucking dense”. To Feyd. Not Paul. Paul can do no wrong in Jessica’s eyes lol.

Anyway! All of your theories were pretty spot on and perceptive!!! Sorry it took so long for me to respond 😔. I’ve been sick this week and it’s been a struggle. I have most of Paul’s chapter finished (it’s sitting at 5,500 words right now 😀). And I hope to edit and post tomorrow!!
