✿ you were living a rather isolated life away from other people with your mother, in a bog filled forest. probably why everyone thought the two of you were witches (not an entirely wrong assumption), and lead to the two of you not really associating with people.

✿ you were fifteen, in the middle of your rebellious phase (that would to your mother's unfortune remain permanently). diavolo was, while in demon terms still pretty juvenile, an endless being.

✿ you were in the middle of your home forest, with some supplies and a book stolen from your mother, attempting to learn to control your magic. it didn't exactly work, and you ended up accidentally summoning diavolo, who was, to put it mildly, confused. you were too to be fair.

✿ diavolo ended up taking quite the liking to your weirdness and after your initial awkward meeting would come by every once in a while to simply spent time with you, leaving your mother very confused. [☘]

✿ diavolo found you to be endearing, what with your reckless but endlessly brave drive to just live. in his eyes, you were an exemplary human. he didn't even mind getting you out of all the trouble you were constantly getting yourself into. mostly you just thought that diavolo was weird, talking about demon-human relations (in a diplomatic sense) and all this crap about peace. so yeah, he was very weird for a demon, but he was the only consistent company you kept so... he was fine.

✿ you'd just recently got out of your latest self-isolation slump, after the unfortunate passing of your parents. you were rather used to death at that point, but you were now alone in the world, and that terrified you.

✿ you were 18, barely considered an adult by most people, and even by yourself. it'd been about three months since the funeral. barbatos, well, nobody knows how old he has ever been so...

✿ you were attempting to get out more, though you were still very clearly in the middle of a depression slump as you were sitting in a little corner cafe near your apartment. they had the best tea ever, in your opinion, and you were hoping it would work as a little pick me up. it didn't, at least until an eccentric but cute man sat from across you.

✿ you didn't speak for a little bit after that, but eventually barbatos introduced himself and started chatting with you. you got to know each other rather well, and after you cheered up a bit barbatos left, but weirdly enough a week later showed up at your apartment to cheer you up a little more.

✿ when barbatos saw you sitting alone at that table, looking like a kicked puppy, he couldn't help himself but to try and help you. maybe it was the servant in him, or maybe something deeper, but he felt an immediate connection to you and needed to get you to smile. barbatos was an angel to you, you were (ironically) certain of it. not only did he manage to make you actually smile and laugh for the first time in months, he was so ethereal that you were for a while convinced that you'd made him up.

✿ you were in therapy, to put it simply. it was at the very beginning stages of your road to recovery from years of mistreatment by your family, and you were determined to put your past as far behind yourself as you possibly could.

✿ you were about 20, having recently "ran away" from home and started living on your own. simeon was and is an ageless angel, so nothing new there.

✿ you were standing outside your therapist's office building, debating whether to even go. i mean, how much could some stranger help you anyways? but that was answered when simeon appeared (seemingly from nowhere) and gave you some much needed encouragement to get your life in order and just go.

✿ you 100% didn't expect to see the pretty stranger again after that, but simeon would show up every week right before your appointment to give you even more encouragement and support. initially you began to think he was a stalker of some kind, but after he told you he was your guardian angel you came to the conclusion that he probably also has therapy at this office around the same time as you.

✿ simeon, basically being your guardian angel, had always had a bit of a bias towards you, and that didn't change upon meeting you. despite your wild ways, he couldn't help but admire your determination and dedication to bettering yourself. you were fairly certain simeon was a bit... not there. but he was a good person, always trying to help you in anyway he could. his mere presence started cheering you up, and him being absolutely ethereal wasn't helping your slight crush.

✿ you were considered to be a bit of a scholar at the time, mostly by your association with several italian philosophers and artists, such as leonardo da vinci and michelangelo. you had no opinion the matter, as mostly you were just recovering from the last plague and it's effects.

✿ you had absolutely no idea how old you were at that point, not necessarily because you forgot but more due to the fact that you weren't raised by people who really cared to count such things. solomon at the time was about 2500 years old, give or take some.

✿ you were working as a model for michelangelo for one of his sculptures, which mostly meant sitting in place for six hours a day. you didn't particularly mind though, but when your friend got a visitor in the form of a young man with shocking white hair, you didn't mind the chatting you got into as your friend wasn't one for such things while working.

✿ neither of you realized the other was immortal for a long while after your first meeting, though you'd bump into each other quite often during your stay in florence. you were both rather glad for the intellectual company.

✿ well, solomon's first thoughts were on how absolutely hot you are, seeing as you were basically naked lounging on a settee. but after talking with you for a short while, he came more so to appreciate your endless curiosity and intellect. you thought solomon was kind of weird, but you surrounded yourself with weirdos all the time so you didn't really mind. besides, he was on the smart end of things and if there was anything you appreciated about a person, it was their brain.

He kind of likes that people can hear him. He’ll probably quieten down to be polite, but it makes him hornier: Haku, Light (he can’t ruin his image too much after all)

He stops because it’s kind of awkward and he feels bad, but he’s not embarrassed: Sero, Beel, Barbatos (can’t ruin his image), Zen, V

His face is hot and he’s embarrassed, and it’s undeniably a little awkward, but he’ll get over it. He either stops for the night, or moves farther away from the shared wall. He might apologise the next day to smooth things over: Lee, Gaara, Yamato, (non-massacre) Itachi, Minato, Midoriya (it does make him a little horny though), Aizawa, Matsuda, Mammon, Yoosung, Derek

Stop immediately. Has a wave of aggression, which is really to hide the embarrassment. Pretends he doesn’t care, but he does and wants to stop for the evening: Sasuke, Neji, Bakugou, Lucifer, 

Humiliated, utterly and completely, his face heats up like you wouldn’t believe. He wants to stop, and is not going to be in the mood for a week: Shino, Iida, Toshinori, Tamaki, Leviathan, Cove

A/B/O Scent Headcanons

Some basic info about scenting in my au: scenting is a non-sexual and non-romantic act. It's basically just claiming someone as "mine," whether that be my lover, my friend, my kid, my older brother, etc. Scenting can also have a less clear relationship than those, sometimes when you scent someone just because you have strong fond feelings for them without defining what those fond feelings are.

Different relationship claims will also smell different. If someone claimed you as an older brother, it'll smell different than then claiming someone else as a lover. So it's obvious to others what the relationship is between the scented and the scenter. (Is scenter a word?)

People scent their pets or their favorite blanket or stuffed animal.

There's also different ways to scent someone, from hugging them to rubbing their head/ruffling their hair to shoulder checking them. When people scent, they give off more pheromones in the hopes that their scent will stick to whatever they're trying to scent.

This also means that it's pretty obvious when someone is scenting someone else. Usually. Some people are very sneaky and can scent someone without the other person realizing. This is usually done by only rubbing off a small part of their scent onto another person.

None of the brothers realize, but they're basically always smelling a bit like Lucifer. This is because Lucifer is constantly scenting them as his little brothers/pups (only when he's feeling snappy and a little drunk does he scent them as his kids). It's a parental instinct, as parents will commonly constantly scent their children.

Nobody notices this (besides Diavolo, Barbatos, and Simeon, who all tease him about it). If one of the brothers are alway from the Devildom/Lucifer for a while, they'll notice that they smell slightly different.

They can't tell why or how they smell different, but it makes them anxious. They feel like something is wrong, but they can't put their finger on what. They frequently complain about how off they feel. Until they arrive back home and Lucifer is there waiting at the door to ruffle their hair and scold them for being gone so long, subtly scenting them, and they instantly relax.

Besides that, only the twins openly scent each other as everyone else is the household is too emotionally represented to admit they care about each other. Beel and Belphie always smell like each other, and it's actually difficult to determine what they smell like on their own.

Beel took it really hard when when Belphie was locked in the attic and didn't let others come into their room in fear that they'll replace Belphie's scent. That's why he didn't want you sleeping in Belphie's bed when you stayed over.

Simeon and Luke often scent each other. Simeon says that he's scenting Luke like a friend, but he's totally scenting like Luke is his kid. Luke also pretends that he isn't scenting Simeon like a big brother (or a dad).

Barbatos doesn't scent Luke, no matter how much Diavolo teases him, too. But after their last baking lesson before the first year end to the exchange program, Luke hugged Barbatos goodbye, and Barbatos instinctively scented Luke. It was in a protégé/fondess way but Barbatos was still pretty embrassed as he didn't let his instincts overpower him like that. Luckily, if Luke noticed, he didn't say anything.

Since you don't have the same sense of smell as everyone else, you can't tell whose an Omega and whose an Alpha from scent alone. You also have a harder time telling apart scents and if you've been scented.

This causes an uproar in the house when you come home selling like Simeon after your weekly tea date.

Even though Solomon can't scent you the traditional with, he makes up with it the same way he fixes all (most) of his problems: magic! He created potions that increase his scent and give you long hugs afterward to mess with the brothers. It's his way of saying, "I'm here too. Just because I'm human, it doesn't mean I don't have a claim."

The brothers looooooove to scent you. Especially since you don't even realize that you're being scented/are scented. It allows them to be little tnusdere cowards.

Sometimes, random demons at RAD like to scent you too. At first, this was an intimidation thing. To try and scare you and claim you as "their" food. But as time passed and you got a few pacts, it became a way to get street cred. Like, 3 of the 7 Lords have pacts with them, and my scent is on them!

Some demons see scenting you as a power move against the brothers. Got your shit stolen by Lord Mammon? Did Lord Beelzebub eat your lunch? Did Lord Asmodeus sleep with your s/o? Override their scent with your own on their precious human!

This is seen as a very bold and very stupid thing to do by most of the student body. It doesn't matter if you and the demon aren't publicly mated. Don't override a Lord's claim! The only brother no demon would ever override (outside of his family and a very annoying human, angel, prince, and butler) is Lucifer. No petty grievance is worth becoming Cerberus' chew toy.

When you get a fan club (clut) of your own (otherwise know as the Human Appreciation Club) and demons start to respect you, secret admirers start scenting you. You just think that the Devildom is really touchy with how many surprise hugs and shoulder checks you get. It also helps that you don't seem to mind being scented, so the other demons assume you're fine with being scented.

The brothers absolutely despise this, especially when you come home smelling like a dozen other demons and not them. But they can't say anything, or they'll reveal that they've been secretly scenting you too.

Diavolo is a big fan of scenting, but he has to be careful. Him scenting someone he isn't publicly mated to will make the tabloids go crazy. So, no random scenting.... usually.

When you're not expected to be around the demon population, he gets a little bolder and is willing and excited to try scenting you. Like when you're in the Human Realm, for example.

He gets extremely excited about it, too. You think it's a little sad how excited Diavolo gets about a hug so you don't mention how long it is. Dia is luckily that you can't tell when something is scenting because he is SO obvious.

Barbatos thinks he's above such childish courtship rituals..... yet. You arrive home after a baking lesson with Barbatos and Luke smelling like a certain butler...

Belphie sents you constantly. Whenever you two nap together, he's cuddling up to you and rubbing his scent glands against you. Even when he's asleep, he unconsciously scents you. This causes quite a bit of infighting between the brothers as you'll go to sleep smelling like Levi and wake up only smelling of Belphie.

The time Belphie doesn't completely envelop you in his scent is when you're scented by Beel. Even when he's asleep, he will add his scent with his twin's but never overpower it.

Beel scents you before and after a Fangol game. Before because he feels like he plays better when he knows that you got his scent on him. And after because he gets so happy when he wins and wants to share the win.

Satan scents and claims all alley cats in the Devildom. Shop owners and residents know that if they come across a kitty that's been claimed by the Avatar of Wrath, they better treat it right and pamper it.

So when you come strolling through smelling like Satan, store owners are quick to give you similar treatment. You're surprised to see how generous the Devildom shop owners are. They're constantly offering you free samples, even when the store doesn't typically offer them, and discounts are constantly added to your purchase.

No shop owner wants to end up like that deli owner who kicked out one of Satan's claimed cats from his store.... collective shudder.

Satan gets very embarrassed if the shop owners do thus in front of him, and he pretends to have no idea why they're acting strangely. But he doesn't tell them to stop...

Levi doesn't think he's good enough to scent you himself before his room is kinda already covered in his scent on account of how many of his favorite items are in it. So after a long gaming session or anome binge, you end up smelling like Levi anyway.

Levi immediately blushes when he notices and retreats into his room without explaining. On one hand, Levi loves that you don't seem to notice that you're scented. Because in his mind, if you knew you'll be disgusted and immediately wash his scent off. But on the other, Levi so desperately wants everyone to know that you're claimed by him.

Levi also gets insanely jealous if you come into his room smelling like anyone else. He almost canceled your gaming sections when you came in smelling like Mammon. Once, when you were scented by Lucifer, Levi was pouting in his gaming chair. He knew he couldn't compete when the eldest, so he didn't see a point in throwing a fit.

It's only when you cuddle up to his Ruri-chan body pillow that smells like him, replacing Lucifer's scent, does Levi cheer up. In his mind, you chose him over Lucifer, even if it wasn't a conscious choice.

Asmo is incredibly shameless when it comes to scenting you. The moment he sees you, he's wrapping you in a hug and nuzzling unto your neck. He also pouts if you wash off his scent, even if you don't know what you're doing. He's the one out likely to spill the beans and tell you about scenting. His brothers will have to warn him about punishments for him, not to spill.

He likes to think of you not knowing like it's a little game, how bold can he be before you ask him what's he's doing? How long before you catch on?

When you come home smelling like some random demon who overrides his scent, he's pissed. His envy rivals Levi's and his rage rivals Satan's. How dare some no name, low level demon scum overscent his claim!!

I love how you connect various characters and power sets to the lanterns and emotional spectrum, whether it’s the various lantern corps. Or the red, green and others from the swamp thing and animal man comics, and recently that amazing green arrow art, what other characters do you think tap into that same power source in the headverse? I’ve always wondered if the emotional spectrum is some filtered version of the source, or that maybe it has ties with the lords of order and chaos … I just get so inspired by your creativity it really lights a fire in me 😁

so actually the Emotional Spectrum being a filtered version of the Source is exactly what I was thinking, but as a consequence of the eternal tension between the (Light) Source and The Great Darkness. The Darkness predates The Source and instinctively seeks to consume it, the site of contact between the two creating material reality (The "Pankosmos" or "Pankosmik"). The Source manifested consciousness in the form of The Presence (often conflated with the Christian God, but ultimately distinct) and life itself in the form of The Entity, filtering out into the Spectrum Entities, its "children" (Umbrax, Lovebird, Proselyte, Adara, Ion, Parallax, Ophidian, Butcher, and Raedan/Hate Machine) while the Great Darkness began mimic this process, creating Nekron and Barbatos, corrupting Eclipso, and manifesting an "Anti-Presence" or Primordial God of Darkness.

The Lords of Order and Chaos initially emerged from opposite sides of this divide (The Source and Gemworld for Order, The Great Darkness and Darkworld for Chaos) but the division blurred over eternity as being living in material reality grew beyond the Manichaen Us-Them Dichotomy of Light and Dark. Just as the multiverse is a product of the interaction between opposing forces, so is everything within it. The Source being released from its Wall would be just as devastating as the Great Darkness overtaking material reality, if not moreso. This came to a head twice in Proto-History and Hyper-Ancient human history with Krona's vision of the Empty Hand on Maltus, and again with Garn Daanuth and Garn Ahri'ahn (descended from the Omega Humanoids that populated the Garden of Eternity before it was rendered barren and became the Rock of Eternity) struggling over Darkworld leading to the deluge that sunk Atlantis, Lemuria and Mu and trapped Skartaris in a pocket dimension. Many of the refugees of the Garn Civil War ended up on Xerox (The Sorceror's World or "Gemworld") though Xerox itself wouldn't created until far into the future, unstuck from Hypertime by its overwhelming mystical energy.

Predating the Maltusians reverse-engineering Lantern technology from Volthoom, the Spectrum itself was wilder and less controlled, appearing like mystical fire and becoming the basis of the Starhearts. Obvs this powers Alan and Jade (Green), The Sorovs and the Church of Blood (Red), Cobalt Blue (Blue), The Amazons' Purple Ray (Violet), Despero (Indigo), and various Wizards and Warlocks (Orange and Yellow). The Black Flame is particularly dangerous, resurrecting the dead but sublimating their will entirely to Nerkon.

"I didn't know a demon as powerful as Diavolo could get so sick," you said as Barbatos welcomed you into the palace and shut the door behind you. You reached into the bag you were carrying and pulled out a stack of papers that you extended in his direction. "Here's the document. Lucifer already signed it." Now it just needed Diavolo's signature to be official.

"Thank you very much," he said but didn't reach for the papers. "Lord Diavolo is currently in his private chambers. Would you mind bringing him the documents?"

You raised a brow in confusion. "Me?"

Normally, Barbatos would be the one to bring Diavolo everything he needed, especially when it came to entering his room.

"Unfortunately," Barbatos started, "the Young Master is currently in a state where I cannot see him. It's… a particular issue for demons that would leave me unable to assist him properly. However, a human like you should be immune. If you wouldn't mind?"

You looked up toward where his room was located then at the papers on your hand.

It wasn't a large ask, all things considered. It was a quick jaunt up the stairs and the handoff would only take a few seconds. You could be done in only a few minutes; maybe a few more if Diavolo signed it on the spot for you, but you'd feel bad asking so much of him when he wasn't feeling well.

"Well?" Barbatos asked. "There is no obligation, of course. It would simply be more efficient for you to go yourself and get it signed than waiting for his… ailment to pass."

"Are you sure? I don't want to bother him when he's sick."

"It will be fine. He's well enough to receive guests."

"I guess I should then…" The sooner the documents were signed, after all, the better. Lucifer clarified how soon the deadline was for this particular project was.

"Thank you." Barbatos gave a shallow bow as you began to tread up the stairs. "Oh! And in the unlikely case you should need assistance, please feel free to scream."

That was strangely ominous, but as you glanced back down at his smile you couldn't read any malicious intent. That didn't stop your nerves from tensing for a brief moment before relaxing so you could continue up the stairs.

Diavolo's door seemed the same as always as you approached, but from just beyond the wooden barrier you could hear the muffled sound of pacing and shuffling. Also, there was a strange scent wafting through the air; like apple wood smoke and heavy spices with a hint of sweetness. It wasn't an unpleasant scent, but it also wasn't something you were used to. It almost smelled like Barbatos should be cooking but you hadn't smelled it downstairs at all.

You knocked your fingers against the door. "Hello? Diavolo?"

The sound beyond the door stopped suddenly before those same steps aggressively began to rush toward where you stood. They stopped just on the other side before a low growl took their place.

"Diavolo?" Your voice was more concerned this time. "Are you alright?"

"I'm… fine." The voice was labored, but it was clearly Diavolo's. Why are… you here?

"I brought something that Lucifer needs you to sign," you answered. "I can come back later if you still aren't feeling well."

"Pl…ease…" he stammered out.

"Alright," you said with slight worry. "I hope you feel better soon. Also, whatever medicine you're taking has a very strong scent. I hope it's as effective as it smells."

You turned away to go back downstairs, but just as you did you heard the door slowly creek open from behind you. The smell in the hallway got stronger, so strong you had to hold your hand up to your nose to block out some of the stench. It was like your were being constricted by the smell.

"Medi…cine? You can smell… it?"

"Sorry," you squeaked as you looked back at the door only to see darkness flooding out of his room. "Was it rude to mention it? I only meant that I'm happy you're taking care of yourself."

"No… No… Why don't you… come in?" The door opened wider, just enough for you to see a large hulking figure with glowing golden eyes through the open slit; something both familiar and entirely foreign. "I'm so glad… you're here. It felt… like my nest was missing… something. Now it'll be… complete."

Teyvat Omegaverse AU: Mondstadt and Liyue

This is a collection of headcanons about how Mondstadt and Liyue might treat the concepts of secondary sex and the trappings of the omegaverse genre. This is based on my knowledge of the game and the headcanons I wrote previously on A/B/O biology for this AU. This post may be expanded upon later as the lore of Genshin Impact is very dense, so adjustments may be made to fit in game lore I didn't know or just forgot about. I also won't be writing anything for Natlan right now as that nation has next to nothing about it mentioned in game. SFW but there are mentions of heat cycles and ruts.

Mondstadt

Mondstadt is unique in that it doesn't place a lot of emphasis on one's secondary sex. While there are some lingering stereotypes, such as alphas being large protectors and omegas being soft caretakers, there isn't any harsh cultural norms in place for Mondstadters. Everyone is free to pursue whatever they wish, free from any significant expectation to perform social roles based on their secondary sex.

That being said, Mondstadt does also prioritize having proper education on how secondary sex affects a person and how people should act in around members of other secondary sexs. Unlike other countries, where this type of education is used to enforce social roles and how they should be performed, Mondstadt focuses on the biology of secondary sexs and how to make informed choices with it. It's very much focused on community safety and personal safety.

Alphas are taught about ruts and their heightened ability to pick up on the pheromones others produce. Betas receive education on what their omega and alpha peers experience due to their biology. Omegas are taught about heats and how they produce a wide range of pheromones people can pick up. This leaves Mondstadtens with a good level of understanding of their own secondary sex and that of others, leading them being able to make informed decisions and fostering respect for all secondary sexs.

Barbatos is often depicted as an alpha by the Church of Barbatos. This could be due to the church's scripture being old or the innate human need to project their characteristics onto idols. Barbatos is often seen as a protector of the people of Mondstadt and a wise leader. This has led to many seeing the Anemo Archon as an alpha, filling the stereotypical role of a strong protector.

The Knights of Favonius does not discriminate on the basis of secondary sex. Regardless of if someone is an alpha, beta or omega, the KoF offers knighthood to those who are worthy of it. This has led to the more conservative nations to view the KoF as 'weak' or even 'mistreating some secondary sexs'. Regardless of the criticism leveled at the, the KoF have been the valiant protectors of Mondstadt, led by an omega grandmaster. Mondstadt will continue to peruse the ideals of freedom and to do so means to allow people the freedom to choose how they express themselves.

Liyue

Liyue is a nation that is stricter in how its social roles for secondary sex. Liyue values alphas over betas and omegas, with alphas traditionally being the heir of the family lineage. This does not mean that omegas or betas experience less rights, but they do experience a lot of social pressure to be deferential to the alphas in their pack. Liyue expects alphas to be strong, wise and the bedrock of their packs. Traditionally, alphas are the ones in charge of business in Liyue, with it being seen as disingenuous to make deals through paper or wearing heavy perfumes to mask intentions because it means alphas have a harder time picking up on pheromones. It is often believed that alphas have the drive necessary for succeeding in business and are expected to have a quiet sense of dominance. Alphas and omegas are also seen as complementary, two parts of a whole that balance each other out. Betas are in an interesting place in Liyue, often see as a mix of the best parts of alphas and omegas. They are the middle ground, the basis for which omegas and alphas are brought together. When talking about monks and martial arts schools, there is often a preference for betas. This is because they don't have heats nor are sensitive to pheromones like alphas are. There is also the taught that being a beta helps one understand the spiritual world as they don't have to deal with as many material world distractions as alphas or omegas. This creates two different spheres of power in Liyue, the business sphere run by alphas and the martial sphere run by betas. In this way, alphas and betas can share being the 'leader' or having others be deferential to them.

Omegas are often seen as extensions of their pack, being traditionally trained to help with matters of business and managing the household. When trying to strike deals, bring an omega along is usually a sign of trust and good will with the added expectation for people to be on their best behavior around the omega. A slight against a pack's omega is a slight against the whole pack, so people must be mindful when interacting with omegas. Since they do not traditionally inherit, omegas often join the pack dynamic of whoever they partner with. It is culturally expected of them to take care of their partners family, with parents often worrying about making sure their omega children have partners that will support them well. That being said, business and the status and power associated with it in Liyue is not limited to just alphas. Omegas and betas also own businesses and are not forced to stay in their traditional roles. In practice omegas do inherit like betas and alphas do, it's just that the traditional modes of inheritance, which often influences business, have affected the culture around secondary sexs. Something to note about martial schools and clans within the context of packs. While a pack can be made from a martial school or a clan, one's pack does not mean you are a part of that clan or school. A clan can be one big pack, or a group of packs that are related to each other but separate.

Rex Lapis is often viewed as both an alpha and an omega, a mix between complementary elements. He fought in the archon wars, but he also created mora and passed on the methods that sustain the people of Liyue. He is sometimes referred to as an omega or as an alpha in stories based on if he is taking the role of a warrior or a role as a creator. This has also led to him being interpreted as a beta since he inhabits so many roles but also in particular stories where he is positioned as a wise sage. The adepti also tend to be assigned roles based on their behavior, though these labels are less fluid for them than Morax's are.

Hello and welcome heart anon <33 It's nice to meet you! You didn't specify a fandom, so I'll just give a couple of ideas.
