Watch_Dogs (2014) When hacker Aiden Pearce and his partner Damien Brenks mission goes wrong, he pays a deadly price. Out for vengeance he will stop at nothing to get revenge on the person who ordered the hit. Considering this game is 6 years old it holds up really well! Watch_Dogs offers a whole new experience of gameplay which is hacking. Most the game plays out in your smartphone which you can use to control, traffic, other phones, cameras and more. The range of items you can hack is vast, and all have different uses both during the story and out. The ability to hack influences the story missions too with the ability to go in all guns blazing or hack your way through, or a mix of the two! The story, whilst good isn’t groundbreaking. It centres on Pearce and has around 2/3 arcs going on at the same time which allows for a few mission goals but also takes away from developing one really strong narrative. It works still, but could have been a lot better, but Pearce as a main is a great protagonist! The graphics are so-so. I remember Ubisoft promising a little different to what they delivered on this, however it’s an early PS4 game and although graphically it doesn’t drive me wild, the world is detailed enough for you to enjoy it all. From the surroundings, to people’s conversations etc, there’s enough to keep you pleased! Also, shout out the online that’s still supported, still works and is actually still pretty damn fun! Overall, Watch_Dogs is a really good game, that still holds up today, it’s fun, innovative and features some great new features and side missions you’ll have plenty of time enjoying! #WatchDogs #Watch_Dogs #WatchDogs2014 #WatchDogsReview #Watch_DogsReview #Omareviews #GameReview #AidenPearce #Ubisoft #UbisoftGames #UbisoftMontreal #Vigilante #Gaming #GamingReview https://www.instagram.com/p/B_HxeK2FrL6/?igshid=lhvr6shzybd3

The Game Changers (2019) @lightningwilks is on a journey to find the best food sources for athletes. Focusing on plant based diets over meats. I’ll start by saying, the films description on Netflix doesn’t really reflect what the film conveys. It isn’t really a look at what’s best for athletes, but rather how effective some plant based diets are for athletes. It does really well showing you results in high performing athletes achievements, just less so for the average joe. The film is split into different segments that concentrate on different athletes from different sports and also includes a park ranger and his transition to not eating meat. Oddly enough, I found his story the most effective and compelling argument. It provides you with a lot of information, at times you’ll have numbers flying at you. Some of them are strange, and include the rigidity of your penis on these type of diets, which I kinda get but at the same time, it’s just used to flesh out the argument for the diet. The numbers are interesting, and definitely make you think about the impact meat is having on you. The park rangers reasons are justifying, as I said before are probably one of the most real and accounts for more psychological over numerical advantages. One of the bad things, is it’s pretty much entirely biased towards the meat free diet. Which I get because it’s an argument for this diet, but there still needs to be a fair argument made, which is why the conservationist argument made complete sense, and the others made some. Some of these athletes have achieved world records, which is great, but meat eaters also have world records? The health benefits like with his father are great, and show real validity to these causes, but I just felt sometimes it got lost in its own justifications. Overall though, the film provides a thought provoking look on vegan diets and is definitely worth a watch. If you’re on the fence or looking at changing your eating habits, give this a go and if anything it’s a great informative film from the side of veganism! #GameChangers #Vegan #Diet #Review #Omareviews #GameChangersReview #Athletes #Netflix #FilmReview #MovieReview #Veganism https://www.instagram.com/p/B5AQr2qljTh/?igshid=tplqvkfsmrpi

The American Dream PSVR (2018) The American dream is a satirical game in which you play a human being going through life as an American patriot! By patriot I mean someone who solves every problem in life with a gun! In a game that’s more than certainly going to piss off some Americans with its gun dependancy references, The American Dream does a great job of putting you in 1950’s America! It’s unique art style is a pleasure to the eye, sometimes less is more and it benefits this game because of it. The simple colours leave you being able to see RGB elements of the VR mind when you’re playing sometimes, but it wasn’t a deal breaker for me. The gameplay consists of using guns and conducting everyday tasks with them. Some are really clever and inventive but at times shooting, especially with both sticks can go all over the place and it can get stressful. However 90% of the time I had no issue, especially with the Pistols, they’re actually very accurate! The story is so-so. You essentially play your life through the format of the game, which is as I said. Dealing with everything from cooking, cleaning to help deliver a baby and beyond. So it’s not your complex tale, but it does mix in some politics, funny events and even plot twists, so it isn’t without its storytelling ability either. Overall the game is a great little VR experience, the game isn’t long but it does a lot in its playtime. It only has a small amount of collectibles which are the American star discs, and are fairly easy to find. This makes getting the platinum of this game good to get and a good experience! #TheAmericanDream #SamuraiPunk #GameReview #Game #Playstation #PS4 #PSVR #VRGame #TheAmericanDreamReview #Like #Comment #Follow #Omareviews https://www.instagram.com/p/B3m0R09l3xp/?igshid=e6no03ys5fub

Far Cry 5 (2018) When you’re sent to arrest a cult leader in hope county Montana, it all goes awry. You must fight back against the cult to save not only yourself but everyone controlled by the group! As a long time fan of the Far Cry games, I’d be lying if I didn’t expect big things from the game, but it delivered! It’s range of great open world, hunting, good trophy list, thought provoking story, memorable characters and a stunning soundtrack makes this game a success! The story (without spoiling it) is a moral dilemma, various dialogue moments in the game have profound meaning and eventually begins to make you ask... who is the the bad guy. The game feels like a take on modern America but also gives off walking dead vibes which is great! Graphically I was fairly impressed too, I played on ps5 and had very little qualms with it! The game really is brilliant, there’s so much to do, it’s endless in its possibilities and is fun all the while doing it! I didn’t want it to end. The platinum is easily attainable and is fully enjoyable to get! The problems for me arise in the form of the driving, which is in my opinion terrible, which seems to be a farcry staple. The AI, the buddies are great at times but can also be extremely frustrating. The worst of all though, is fall damage, my god, jumping can cause you to lose half health down a hill and considering how hilly the game is.... I also wasn’t sold on the far cry arcade, it’s good in concept but pointless really, the trophy list probably could have done without the online trophies too! One of the best about the game is the soundtrack though, it’s a powerhouse of emotion, tenacity and honestly takes the game up another level. So much so, I’ve found myself listening to it in the real world on many an occasion! Overall, Far Cry 5 is a huge success. There’s not much to say, I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a good game to sit down with for a while! #FarCry5 #FarCry5Review #Omareviews #GameReview #FarCry #FarCryReview #PSBlog #PSShare #SharePlay #Playstation #PS5 #HopeCounty #GamingPhotography #JohnSeed #FollowForReviews #Gaming #LockdownReview #Hammock #ApocalypseGame #GameReview #Reviewer #GamingLife https://www.instagram.com/p/CM4TMhnFPbm/?igshid=19f3omrmosj4f

Evil Ed (1995) When Ed is transferred to the sex and gore department of his editing job, it isn’t long before the job becomes too much and has more of an effect than he could have ever imagined. Evil Ed is a film that’s long been on my list of films to watch, I finally got round to it and whilst it’s a 5/10 it wasn’t that bad! It’s an enjoyable film, it’s very B movie and it shows, with some mediocre acting and strange voiceovers! Evil Ed has some great ideas, from what I could gather it harnesses the idea of gore, sex and violence, heavily prevalent during the 80s, especially with exploitation movies, and channels that into the idea that too much of it can turn you into it. The idea itself is good, and plays out well, and takes some crazy turns! The movies monsters in his head are insanely strange and macabre and are most certainly creepy! You’d be mistaken for thinking this film was made in the 80’s through its topic, characteristics, and its soundtrack, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it’s on the lower budget scale of things. If you’ve watched a lot of horror B movies, especially those from the 80’s etc, then it gets a bit samey after a while which leaves these reviews a bit short, especially with no spoilers, but I guess that’s what made the best horrors stand out! Whilst these are fun to watch, they ultimately are pieces of their times and noticeable now! Although lovingly enhanced with better image quality! Overall, I enjoyed a few different elements from this movie, it contained some interesting ideas that exploded in the end, and also has a lot of fan service to previous horror movies dotted throughout which is cool, but all in all it’s still another low budget splatter horror! Jigsaw (2017) When a new batch of bodies start turning up in the city, a new hunt for the deceased jigsaw is underway. There’s an old saying, ‘let sleeping dogs lie’. It applies perfectly to this reboot and they should have just left it where it was. Although Saws tenure wasn’t a particularly emphatic one, it brought a new sort of horror to the scene, the mystery and gory nature was unique at first and had something good. Yes it faded, and it wasn’t great towards the end but at least it called it a day... or so we thought. Reboots are sometimes a blessing and other times a curse, this is one that should have been left alone. It just doesn’t do anything for the series other than overcomplicate things and create more unanswered questions. I mean you know it’s bad when even Clousers soundtrack doesn’t even stand out anymore. There’s the odd bit of intelligence that works, and some of the traps are cool. But at this point, saw needed a miracle, and this reboot really wasn’t it. Overall, this isn’t one of the worst films you’ll ever watch, but it’s one of the worst saws. It’s pretty pointless, doesn’t offer much and probably should have been left alone. #JigsawMovie #SawTheMovie #Saw2017 #SawReview #Saw2017Review #Saw8Review #SawMovieReview #Omareviews #Horror #HorrorMovie #HorrorMovieReview #Sawathon #SawMarathon #Jigsaw #JigsawKiller #HorrorFilm #HorrorReview #SerialKiller #Cinephile #CharlieClouser #TobinBell #SawFranchise #ScottPatterson #CostasMandylor #BetsyRussell https://www.instagram.com/p/CKojGCZFCFf/?igshid=12ygm6w5g9855

Saw 3D (The Final Chapter (7)) 2010 Jigaw has set up another game, this time, after surviving an attack from his accomplice, he will seek revenge on those that challenged him. So here we are... at the 7th instalment of the film series that some see as torture porn and some see as clever. Me I’m in between, and the last chapter does a little to restore my faith in it, but not completely. The new set up is good, I like the mrs approach to the film, with the protagonist story proving to give person reason to be taught a lesson and the traps on those around him are logical and inventive. The ending is also enjoyable, and will take you on a little saw journey if you will, answers a couple but not all questions and even leaves you on a bit of a cliffhanger. Maybe I’m just desensitised to it all at this point but coming to the end of saw there wasn’t really a point where I seen Jigsaw as the bad guy, and never wanted him to die, which is a strange position to feel about a serial killer of sorts. Aside from that, the final chapter goes out with a mild bang, everything is pretty much as it has been throughout, the food music, the decent but not groundbreaking acting, some rinse and repeat scenarios but also some new surprises sprinkled in the mix! Overall, there really isn’t all that much to say about saw 3D, if you’ve made it this far congratulations, and you’ve stuck it out! The overall feel of the franchise is similar to that of a few long running ones, it dragged towards the end and the idea lost its weight. If you’ve watched a lot of these you can carry on and catch the end, but for a one off you’d be missing too much for it to matter! #Saw7 #Saw3D #Saw7Movie #SawTheMovie #Saw2010 #SawReview #Saw2010Review #Saw7Review #Saw3DReview #SawMovieReview #Omareviews #Horror #HorrorMovie #HorrorMovieReview #Sawathon #SawMarathon #Jigsaw #JigsawKiller #HorrorFilm #HorrorReview #SerialKiller #Cinephile #CharlieClouser #TobinBell #SawFranchise #CaryElwes #CostasMandylor #BetsyRussell https://www.instagram.com/p/CKhFM65FF8p/?igshid=1owwtav4f2avh

Saw 4 (2007) When the seemingly impossible happens, detectives pull together to try and understand how and why the grisly murders are taking place! Another year, another saw, and this time they’ve tried to up the ante by producing a convoluted storyline that becomes kinda confusing in the end and also starts to become predictable! Saws original idea was amazing because of its simplicity, it’s straight forward approach left a lot to the imagination and allowed the film to flourish in its minimalism. 4 films in, with recurring characters, in a deep twisting storyline, the continuity and questions start to be questioned and things start to get a little confusing. At this point you start wondering about how bad this police force are, is he that clever, are there never missing persons reports for anyone not found. The questions start to mount and saw doesn’t answer them all. The gore is still there, the ideas are creative and not recycled which is good, but there comes a point where the gore and violence has to be backed up by something behind it, and it doesn’t always do that! The acting is as good as it needs to be, Tobin Bell reprises his role as Kramer, and does as well as he has done, Wahlberg is back with not a lot to do and we mainly follow Lyriq Bent as Rigg, who again does what he has to. There’s no wow factor but they all get the job done. Charlie Clouser still manages to piece the film together with his score which is surprising with how simple it is, but it works! Overall, Saw 4, whilst not being the worst film you’ll ever see, is certainly starting to show its age, and starts to feel a bit leggy. There’s life in the old dog yet... but how much, time will tell! #Saw4 #Saw4Movie #SawTheMovie #Saw2007 #SawReview #Saw2007Review #SawMovieReview #Omareviews #Horror #HorrorMovie #HorrorMovieReview #Sawathon #SawMarathon #Jigsaw #JigsawKiller #HorrorFilm #HorrorReview #SerialKiller #Cinephile #CharlieClouser #DonnieWahlberg #TobinBell #SawFranchise #LyriqBent https://www.instagram.com/p/CKGyILAlr5g/?igshid=1w9j88pzipd88

Saw 2 (2005) When detectives Erik Matthews investigates the latest in the jigsaw killings, he’s involved more than he’d have ever imagined. When Jigsaw brings us his latest victims! Saw 2 does a good job off building from the foundations of the first one, where number 1 is simple and manages to focus on the events of 2 or 3 people, number 2 is a little more complex and involves a bigger cast. The victims this time around are still linked, but with a higher body count the way they can all be linked becomes a little bit harder, luckily it comes together well, however the reasoning for people being in the game this time is slightly looser and doesn’t quite nail them down as cleverly as the first. The best thing about number 2 is the improved inclusion of Tobin Bell, bell delivers an unnerving and unflinching performance as Jigsaw/John Kramer. His steely character ties everything together seamlessly and he fits the role perfectly. Wahlberg also puts in a decent performance as officer Matthews who loses his cool over time! Charlie Clouser returns on the soundtrack and does a fantastic job again, drilling home the dark, mysterious world with his signature theme song and creepy score. The traps are inventive again, and from minute go, they have you drawn in with their extreme violence and gore, the only thing I had with it is there are a couple of times I wondered how the way to win was or that some really just petered out. Overall, whilst number 2 is bigger and contains more than the first, it doesn’t necessarily mean better! It keeps things coming along steadily and it’s twist and turns manage to set up a 3rd film! #Saw2 #Saw2Movie #SawTheMovie #Saw2005 #SawReview #Saw2005Review #SawMovieReview #Omareviews #Horror #HorrorMovie #HorrorMovieReview #Sawathon #SawMarathon #Jigsaw #JigsawKiller #HorrorFilm #HorrorReview #SerialKiller #Cinephile #CharlieClouser #DonnieWahlberg #TobinBell https://www.instagram.com/p/CKBtAEblTA5/?igshid=e5jzdg72kv7i

Eddie the Eagle (2016) Eddie Edwards, is an underdog ski jumper who almost literally has to jump through hoops to make his Olympic dream a reality! Funny story, I never even heard of this film, nor had I any intention of watching it, but I’m so glad I did! Here’s why: From start to finish, this film had me gripped, from its charming introduction to Eddie and his Olympic dreams, to harsh realities and seeing him never giving up, it’s rare that you see such underdog stories convey themselves in a way that isn’t stereotypical, cheesy or corny. This manages to avoid all the cliches and comes across brilliantly. Anyone who knows me knows I love a soundtrack, and anyone who knows me knows I love the 80’s... what did I get in this film, an eclectic soundtrack born from the 80’s and it was magnificent. I loved it and it accompanied the film to perfection! The authentic feel you get when watching this film just makes it feel genuine, makes it feel alive and is what gives it real heart. There’s messages for everyone in it and everyone can take something away! If I’m being cynical, I’d have probably have liked to see a little more about what he did after, even if it was a short segment, but I can’t really complain if I’m honest. The on screen relationship and acting from Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman is top notch and Egerton delivers a fantastic portrayal of Eddie! Overall, I was genuinely taken aback by how good this film was, and unexpectedly at that too! I know this won’t be for everyone but if you want a film with genuine heart, a feel good factor and a great soundtrack this is it! #EddieTheEagle #EddieTheEagleReview #EddieTheEagleMovie #TaronEgerton #HughJackman #MovieReview #EddieTheEagle2016 #SkiJumping #BritishRecord #SkiRecord #British #SkiMovie #Omareviews #SportsMovie #Cinephile #BluRayCollection #SportsFilms #Underdog #UnderdogStory #ChristoperWalken #EddieEdwards #BronsonPeary #WarrenSharp https://www.instagram.com/p/CJisCnQFpVU/?igshid=15sq5d2gmddyr

Hellraiser 3: Hell On Earth (1992) When a journalist down on her luck is searching for the next big scoop, her luck is in, when she sees someone rushed into the ER with chains hanging out of him. Back when the first Hellraiser was released, it felt fresh, it gave a real feeling of mysticism that blurred the lines between the supernatural and the unknown. In number 2 it went too far the other way, in 3 it goes down the middle. Number 3 see’s pinhead trying to take over the human world now and it’s up to Joey, the journalist to save the world. It doesn’t really ever get going though, it’s love triangle, and sob stories with a couple of the characters aren’t that interesting, the story feels like at this point it’s clutching at straws. There’s still plenty of gore present, and the death scenes are still here, which makes it a little more bearable, but similar to number 2 it’s not enough to save it. I tell you one thing, the music budget must have been tiny, as the score is pretty much the same as the other 2 again! Either the sound team made off with a fat stack or were given some time off! There’s not much to be said for the acting Doug Bradley reprises his role as pinhead again and does well, but apart from that it’s your typical movie. The trilogy from Arrow Video is presented in a hardback case, and comes with 3 cases housing each disc. With some beautiful artwork and great quality blu rays it’s perfect for anyone who’s a fan’s collection! Looking back on the hellraiser trilogy, for me it’s a darn shame. Number 1 was incredibly engaging, a fun watch and left you wanting more. 2 didn’t deliver as well as it should, and was rushed, and by 3 it’s pretty much dead in the water. Overall, number 3 has some good ideas, and some great deaths but all in all, it’s the final Pin in the coffin for the Hellraiser franchise that deserved so much more! #Hellraiser3 #Hellraiser3HellOnEarth #Hellraiser #HorrorMovie #Omareviews #Hellraiser3Review #Pinhead #Cenobites #HorrorReview #Cinephile #Horror #MovieVillains #LockdownReviews #LockdownSuggestions #LockdownMovies #MovieReview #FilmReview #FollowForReviews #Reviewer #ArrowVideo #ArrowVideoReview https://www.instagram.com/p/CIQg4hYFiTn/?igshid=s1oac093hkaq

Devil May Cry 3 (2005) When Dante is sent a rude message from his brother, he aims to return the favour and discovers his brother has a devilish plan and Dante is part of it. After the poor 2nd game, I didn’t know what to expect when going into DMC 3. What I got was a lot better than number 2 but not quite as good as DMC 1! DMC 3 has a good story, one that’s at least on par with 1, it has some interesting characters, but I’d have liked to have explored the relationship between Virgil and Dante a little bit more. The gameplay is okay, it looks good and the game has some quirky boss battles. The problem for me is the games mission layout, the linear paths are unclear, the game can be extremely confusing and puzzles can leave you at ends for ages. There’s little to no clues to help you along the way and it makes, what is already a hard game even harder. Also, whoever is playing this game on any of the higher difficulties must be crazy, this game is hard enough! As soon as I got the easy option I took it, and even still some enemies were hard! The soundtrack is cool, it manages to build some great atmosphere in some of the cutscenes but the heavy metal in the game grates on you a bit after a while. After playing the HD trilogy, my overall reaction is that I enjoyed 1, 2 not so much, and 3 was decent. I’m not sure I’m sold on the DMC hype though! Overall, I think DMC 3 is a decent game, not quite as good as the first, it’s definitely for hardcore gamers and not for the light hearted! The Omen (1976) When Roberts wife’s child dies at birth, he makes a deal to take another in its place, little does he know, the unborn child bares deep dark secrets he never could have imagined. The omen is part of the 70’s emergence of horror movies which was largely made up of b movies that missed the mark due to just not having enough quality writing which was important with little special effects available. The omen is one of the ones that stood out, creating a good amount of tension, having a creep antagonist and really drawing out the first elements of the devil and the anti christ. Oddly enough there’s a lot of strange going ons that happened when filming the omen and it’s easy to see why! The film is good but by no means perfect and it’s lack of Damian keeps him mysterious but also fails to build him up into the demonic figure he really could have been. There’s a couple of scenes that he appears in that really showcase his imposing figure but they’re too few and far between. The score is brilliant and consistently manages to keep the film flowing with mixes between satanic ritualistic chanting and orchestral music which sets a haunting tone. Whilst the films big moments do well, some times there’s scenes that feel a bit drawn out for the sake of it, and some that could have kept the films flow a bit better. The omen brings high highs and some low, lows. The acting can’t be moaned about either and Gregory Peck plays his doting dad role well. Harvey Spencer was perfect as Damien which is why it’s disappointing that we didn’t get more of him on screen! Overall, The Omen is still worth watching for anyone who’s a fan of horror or movies in general, it does have some downtime, but you’ll still find plenty to creep you out and keep you engaged! #TheOmen #Damien #70sHorror #ClassicMovies #Omareviews #MovieReview #FilmReview #LockdownReview #Horror #HorrorMovie #HorrorReview #Cinephile #GregoryPeck #HarveySpencer #ClassicHorror #Antichrist #666 #666TheOmen #Devil https://www.instagram.com/p/CHiARgAF5qZ/?igshid=1bm9zo1fpgl1l

American Murder: The Family Next Door (2020) When Shannan and her 2 daughters go missing, police investigate what happened to find a chilling tale. Filmed using either footage from police cameras or Facebook videos etc, the whole documentary is made up of video that is part of the investigation which I liked on one hand but I think maybe contributed to its downfall too. Based on a true story in 2018, I’d heard a lot about American Murder, mostly good, but watching it, as bad as it sounds, I was left wanting. The story didn’t tie up loose ends, there were some big time jumps, and it certainly feels like there’s information missing. After looking online after watching, the internet all but confirmed this too, adding that there were a lot more chilling details that were left out, some that should definitely have been added. There’s only so much you can review in this as there’s no acting etc, but I think overall, I enjoyed the story, and found it thoroughly engaging, and if you like true crime dramas etc you’ll definitely like this, but it does have its moments that feel forgotten about which is also quite annoying! But is also a tale of a heartbreaking story that will definitely make you think. #AmericanMurder #AmericanMurderTheFamilyNextDoor #AmericanMurderTheFamilyNextDoorReview #AmericanMurderReview #Omareviews #Netflix #NetflixAndChill #NetflixReview #LockdownReview #TrueCrime #TrueCrimeDrama #TrueCrimeMovie #ChrisWatts #ShannanWatts #MovieReview #FilmReview #Cinephile https://www.instagram.com/p/CG2YBS_Fd9_/?igshid=n4nb1h9ny0yn

Airplane Mode (2020) Ana is a social media influencer and lives for fashion. When her world comes tumbling down around her, she’ll find a new life to appreciate that she never thought she would. Airplane mode is Netflix’s most watched foreign, non English film. Which doesn’t surprise me because I very rarely see any foreign films on there, set in Sao Paolo I believe and originally filmed in Portuguese, the film makes it clear early on that it’s dubbed as the lips don’t match at times at all but it’s not unwatchable! The story is one that at first you’ll look at and think it’s just another teen movie, but there’s actually so much more than layered throughout and the lessons come in more ways than one and will probably teach you a thing or two! The acting is good, I find it hard to form any comprehensive review on the acting as I watched it dubbed, so the voice acting was different to the original, the voice acting was as good as it needed to be though as well! There’s some really nice little tunes in here that give the film a bit of its authenticity and sound like classic little Portuguese/Brazilian songs on guitars! Overall, there isn’t a whole lot to say about airplane mode, but what it is, is a fun watch that will definitely surprise you. It teaches different values and can certainly open a few young eyes to the importance, or rather lack of, or social media and trying to impress everyone! #AirplaneMode #AirplaneModeReview #AirplaneModeNetlfix #Omareviews #FilmReview #Netflix #NetflixAndChill #MovieReview #LockdownReview #LockdownSuggestions #AirplaneModeMovie #AirplaneModeMovieReview https://www.instagram.com/p/CGkwpP4FG2V/?igshid=13ym6yinohdp5
