↳ “ meet me at our usual spot ” signed with a quick handwritten signature of “ — kokichi ” was left in your locker as you’d gone to grab something from inside.

→ by “ usual spot , ” he meant in the back of the school near one of the blossomed trees where you’d both first interacted. back then , he’d playfully teased you for being alone yet still showing interest in why you were out there away from everyone else.

→ you were having a particularly bad day that day , but even though that happened , it grew a potential new friendship to blossom as well as the buds on the tree above.

→ it was a familiar trope that kokichi soon thought about. so , avoiding cliches , he’d made your life so much more interesting and unique in ways you’d never thought would happen with you both. and finally , that led to him proposing to be a couple.

→ and on one random day , he’d left that note.

→ kokichi avoided you for the rest of the day , a bit unintentionally. but as he’d noticed you coming to him more since he’d not been talking to you , he continued running away from you whenever you’d come close.

→ and finally , the end of the day came. you’d waited under the tree on the bench , browsing through things on your phone and glancing up now and then. you pondered over why didn’t he just text you instead of leaving a note. sometimes you wonder if he’s being stupid on purpose or if it’s just his natural nature.

→ just as you were about to text him , you saw him run from the side of the school over to your direction. putting your phone away , you watched as he sped towards you.

→ “ hiii , (s/o) !! ~ ” he called out. he was holding a box. a simple , cardboard box.

→ he gave the box towards you without listening to your questions. he wanted you to open it. he sat on the bench with you , closely watching your actions.

→ you opened it hesitantly in fear of some kind of prank inside. but instead , there were a few gifts in the box.

→ three boxes of your favorite candy. a replica of his scarf and dice outfit ( you’d been stealing his clothes lately to impersonate him ) , and a small box. you’d hugged him , despite his whines about how “ you hug him too tight ”. he liked them , but playful banter just tends to flow out of his mouth whenever you’re sweet to him.

→ the box was sort of like a box you’d see in proposals. it was light. kokichi had gone behind you to help tie the scarf on. opening the box …

→ there was a ring , not exactly one used for weddings , but one of those couple matching ones. kokichi then flashed his own on his slender finger , showing it off by putting it side by side to the ring in the box.

→ “ put it on !! ” he urged , snapping you out of your daze as you gazed upon the expensive looking jewelry , slipping it onto your ring finger.

→ then it tightened ever so slightly. “ what the heck — ?? ”

→ he evilly grinned. “ do you like it? one of my dice members recently had a thing for machinery and helped me make this. i was gonna ask miu first , but like , she’s miu. ”

→ “ what … is this? ” you asked , testing to see if you could slide it back off in vain.

→ “ don’t bother. it’s a ring to show that we truly belong together! of course , there’s a way to get it off , but i'm not telling you that. ” — kokichi dramatically inhaled — “ do you not like it? … ” he childishly pouted.

→ with him in front of you , you pulled him in for a chaste kiss on the lips. “ what’s the occasion even for , though? ” you questioned , mumbling against his lips.

→ “ just wanted to show my beloved significant other my love to them. why , is it too cheesy for you? ” he lightly teased.

→ “ coming from you. ” you replied as you sunk into him once more.

I feel like... KOKICHI would be so confused if you initiated physical contact with him. (that wasn't violent by any means and held no malicious intent)

Like, he dances over peoples boundaries all the time and violates their personal space for shits and giggles, but when you don't seem to mind and actually engaged in it, he's genuinely concerned. Not because you're reciprocating, but because it's him, the least likeable person in the building.

He really wouldn't know what to do with himself in that situation, he just sorta freezes. Be it a hug, headpat, or holding his hand, his response is so delayed he doesn't even register what happened until you're gone.

Please, no one approach him, he's not okay.

Probably avoids you like the plague at first because the things you make him feel is so foreign to him and definitely distracts him from his supreme leader plans.

If he's ever questioned about it, he of course gaslight and denies everything and calls you weird or something but he has a hard time lying directly to you

Thinks you have some ulterior motive and calls you out on it but you're just standing there confused.

Once he figures out you truly are no threat to him, he's in a weird position. For starters, you're not gullible to fall for or aid him in his schemes and second, you're always hanging out with him when you can so he can't get rid of you.

He thinks it's annoying at first but once he gets over his ick with his emotions, he'll constantly align himself in your presence (Because he's touch starved and wants attention) and be his clingy self again.

He'll demand piggy back rides and drag you everywhere because he can.

Definitely becomes a leech and now you're stuck with him for good, not that you're complaining.

Me: I do think Kokichi is a space heater wholeheartedly. and that his fingers are nimble and flexible, he has a lot more tricks than just lockpicking. so they're not that small and stubby to me. but yes, they're soft and warm, while Shuichi is a bony guy

Me: technically, it could go both ways, but I feel like it's skewed towards Shuichi being A and Kokichi being B, Kokichi is very touchy, he would PDA constantly if it was okay with Shu, and if he has his clown family he's not nearly as touch starved as Shuichi who probably didn't have friends before being forcibly adopted by the extroverts of their cast Ves: i was thinking the reverse but u make a good case for ur vision… Me: the models for A & B make it look like the reverse to a point where I feel deja vu and wonder if I didn't see a fanart with those expressions but for the dynamic I do believe that Shu is more touch starved, and touch is the easiest love language for Kokichi to show he's probably been sleeping in a pile with his clowns, he has to re-learn what personal space is when with other people, Shuichi could never Ves: shuuichi got a hug from his uncle and thought about it for multiple months however once the floodgates r broken all previous messages still apply. he WILL be resting his entire weight on top of kokichi's fragile twink bones Me: yeah once they're at the stage of a relationship when they sleepover often & comfortably (or live together) Shuichi's snugglebug gene gets activated, the cuddle monster awakens all of a sudden and he's here to stay (as long as it's in the privacy of their chambers)

when you manipulate a trustworthy person to kill another person you were cooperating with, and in the trial you "realize" the former is "lying" so well that you—someone who's talent is based off of your ability to read people—can't even detect their tells, meaning that they were so much smarter than you realize, but despite their intelligence they still choose to play the "façade" of a clueless, innocent idiot. so you condemn them, to try to corner them out of their lies—out of disdain for being deceived this whole time, out of fear for having lost control since you can't see past their act, out of pity for someone that has been hiding behind a falsehood like the same way you have for the entirety of this killing game, or out of the desperate need to prove yourself wrong, that they were a liar to be kind to people, like you, like DICE, you can't pinpoint the reason why. maybe it's some, maybe it's all of them. either way, they don't let go of their "mask," insisting that they don't know anything, they're a gentleman, and gentlemen wouldn't kill people, honest! again and again, the same illogical attempts at a defense that everyone else just accepts. you wonder: why are they sticking to this front so stubbornly (you're asking that?), when they can just play along and defend themselves with a lie to incriminate you further? almost everyone would believe them anyway. what you've saw, what you've done, what you've realized, everything that's been happening… it's too much. you snap. if they understand that, then why aren't they doing it right? argue back already. use your head and make logical arguments to reach the verdict both of us want. just make an excuse or whatever. they still don't relent, and they go with the same answer: i don't know anything. you're so sick of hearing that, it's what they've been saying this whole time. you yell and scream at them with frustration, your composure breaking, before the detective reveals a truth that explains their behavior: they don't remember killing anyone. at this point, you know it's over, since the detective is bound to figure out the truth, and everyone is listening to him, so you speed up the trial to end it as quickly as possible. you antagonize your former partner, to ensure they die with hatred towards you, if they didn't already. but they don't. they don't hate you, even asking everyone to remain be friends with each other, including you. they get sent to death with tears and guilt, without knowing why they killed in the first place. you manipulated someone so kind into murder, berated them, and sent them to their death.

Why is it that when people make pregame content they forget about how they acted in the prologue? Like obviously if you wanna write them like that go ahead but it confuses me on how that’s the MAJORITY. I think it stems from the audition tapes at the end of the game but that’s always seemed strange to me.

Like I’ve seen most people write pregame Kaito as an absolute dick who would beat up people regularly (basically a bully), but we don’t really see that in the prologue. In the prologue, we don’t get much sure, but from what we do see, he’s not acting brash or rude at all. If I remember right, he even sounds worried (or is at the very least still panicked about the situation) when he questions if Kaede and Shuichi were chased by “that monster” (exisals). Sure, we don’t really know his thoughts for that line but you don’t really say that if you care for nobody but yourself (in my opinion at least).

This isn’t even mentioning Kokichi, who acts so different from fanon pregame like what. Pregame Kokichi is usually characterized as a whiny teen who can’t handle confrontation and is an extreme introvert. But one of his few lines in the prologue is him volunteering to go back out (where they all just ran for their lives) to see what’s happening before getting shut down for his safety. And he doesn’t say it scared either, he says it pretty calmly (not saying he’s calm but he’s clearly not panicking nearly as bad as people portray him).

(I know his name (and Kaito’s earlier) is question marks but it is his voice when he says it please believe me lol)

Honestly, it kinda bums me out that not a lot of people take the prologue into account! Sure, Kaito’s audition tape makes him look like a violence hungry jerk; however, it wouldn’t surprise me if he (and everyone else) was just exaggerating to try and get picked. If you liked a show, and you want to be in it, you wouldn’t say “yeah I find this show cool, killing looks okay on screen but I think it could be fun.” You wouldn’t get picked (or at least have a lower possibility). They probably acted more like what they thought Team Danganronpa would want for their show.

Anyways, sorry for how long that was (especially considering I don’t make posts like this ever???) but I was replaying V3 earlier and it just occurred to me. Like even Kaede is meaner than Kaito in the prologue (she tells Shuichi to shut up when he starts panicking lmao (she apologizes later tho)). That’s not even mentioning Shuichi but this is already long and probably full of punctuation errors lol. Sorry if it got incoherent at all. I’m very tired.

TL;DR Fanon pregame DRV3 doesn’t usually take into account how the character acted in the prologue and it bothers me.

(Again, if you like to characterize them that way, that’s fine. Everyone has headcanons and such. I’m just expressing some of my thoughts :D)

This chevron managed to line up perfectly! The pair of this sock had a small hole in the heel that I promised to mend for my mom, and I decided to reinforce the ball of the foot on both while I was at it. I usually prefer swiss mending/duplicate stitch, but decided to go for a more invisible method this time.
