Views of Olor Part 1: The Deepfrost Citadel

A series based on my current dnd campaign!

Challenging myself to draw one landscape from my campaign’s continent a month this year! This all started with the “Terrors Beneath Deepfrost Citadel�� module so the citadel is the focus of my first illustration. Most of the drawings will heavily rely on reference images, with things being changed to fit the fantasy setting. I’m also trying to only use a round brush for these!

The continent itself is called Olor and is loosely based on the geography of the US, as I’m going for an american gothic theme (somewhat successfully), but it’s in the southern hemisphere of its planet. Here’s a map of the continent, and a few references I used for the drawing!

I did the citadel in a gothic style, mostly based on the Basilica di Santa Croce in Florence, the belfry in Brugge/Bruges, and Saint Martin’s Cathedral in Ieper/Ypres, since I visited those places recently. It also contains elements from Tango’s DFC of course!
