Hearts on Fire
Tom Glynn- Carney x reader, Ewan Mitchell x reader, Glytchell x reader(eventually... maybe)
Summary- falling for either of your co-stars was NOT on your bucket list
Warnings- single mom!reader, both boys are single, mentions of past pregnancy
wc-1.1k
A/n- I don't know exactly how sets work but I'm pretty sure actors all meet each other way before the first day, so everyone knows the baby already
-
It was like yesterday that you were still auditioning for the role at 9 months pregnant. Now it was the first day on set and you had nobody to take care of your six-month-old son. Your cousin could only stay with you for so long and you were no way in hell leaving your baby with a stranger.
There was a bus that would pick up cast members but you weren't sure how they would feel about you bringing your baby on the bus and then to set.
But a call wouldn't hurt. And it didn't. Your assistant made sure something would be there. The set managers were more than happy to accommodate you as long as you brought everything needed.
You got a text from Olivia that they were close by you instantly gathered up your things and put the playpen outside, along with the baby bag.
"Okay Miles, you're coming with mommy to work today." You picked up the chubby baby put him in the travel car seat and walked outside just as the bus pulled up. You waved and shut your door and locked it. You bent down grabbed the playpen strap and swung it over your shoulder, it clashed against your backpack making you stumble. You grabbed the bag strap and started hauling it all towards the bus.
The bus doors slid open and your co-star Ewan Mitchell came running out.
"Let me help you out there."
"No Ewan I got it." You smiled at him but he shook his head. He grabbed the playpen and baby bag from your arms and gestured for you to go first.
"Thank you." You sighed and walked up the steps of the bus. Everyone greeted you and moved their stuff so you could set Miles down. Ewan came in behind you and handed you the baby bag.
"I'm going to take this to the back." He says and takes the playpen.
"Thank you again." You say.
"Don't mention it," Ewan says and walks to the back then back up to the front to sit directly behind you. Miles' car seat was secure and you took your seat right next to him.
The next stop was Tom. He stepped on the bus and his eyes instantly matched with you.
"Hey, Y/n." He sat down next to you in the other set of chairs. His eyes dashed over to the little have stretching. "You brought your baby!?" Tom instantly cooed and tried to get a look. And just at the same time, Miles started getting fussy. The kind that he wanted to be held.
"Okay okay." You cooed and started unbuckling him. You pocked him down and tried to sit him down on your lap but he planted his tiny feet on your thigh to stay up. "Oh, we want to stand today." He looked around the bus as it was completely new to him.
"Hi there." Tom waved at the baby with a big smile on his face. "I don't think you remember me but I do remember you." Miles giggled as if he understood. "You were so much tinier."
"Now he's a big boy." You say and tickle his sides making the baby squirm and giggle. Then he stopped as his little eyes caught onto Olivia. His tiny mouth was open in awe.
"Uh oh, I think someone's got his first crush," Tom says and you look at Miles who was staring intently at Olivia.
"You think she's pretty huh, I know she is." You say in a tiny baby voice.
"Oh, that is adorable," Olivia says with a smile which triggers Miles to smile as well. He sat down abruptly, digging his knees into your stomach making you huff then stood up with force to look at Olivia again. As if he was playing peek-a-boo.
The whole ride Miles had everyone smiling and laughing. You were only 15 minutes away when Miles suddenly leaned over to reach for Tom. It was like something clicked to Tom and he instantly reached out but then hesitated and looked up at you for reassurance.
You were going to be working with these people for who knows how long. You had to trust them.
You nodded and passed over Miles to Tom. He gladly accepted it with no issue. He sat in the man's lap contently while Tom kept a secure hold on him.
Once you deemed he was okay you let yourself relax as much as you could.
Ewan tapped your shoulder and you turned around.
“How old is he now?” He asks looking at Miles.
“6 months.” He nodded then looked at you.
“You look absolutely amazing by the way.” He says. “I wouldn’t have guessed you had a baby 6 months ago.”
Your face heated up and you broke out in a big smile.
“That is very kind of you Ewan, I appreciate it.” He gave a satisfied smile and grabbed his phone.
“Can I get your number? I have pretty much everyone but yours.”
“Yeah!” You grabbed his phone and typed in the number and handed it back to him. The bus pulled into the lot and parked. Everyone stood up grabbed their stuff and got off the bus just leaving you with Ewan, Tom, and Miles.
“I can take it from you, thank you.” You tell them but they don’t budge.
“We’ve got you, don’t worry. I can carry Miles.”
Tom says and stands up, bouncing Miles slightly.
“I can carry the other stuff. You worry about yourself for a bit.” Ewan says and grabs the baby bag and walks to the back to grab the playpen.
“Guys I’ve been doing this for months, please let me carry my stuff.” You pleaded but they didn’t budge. Tom waited for you to start walking and Ewan waited in the middle of the aisle.
“We know you’re doing this, but you’re basically by yourself Y/n, let us help. We’re going to be around each other for a long time. I'm sure everyone in there is going to want to help you as well.”
You didn’t know what to feel. Your chest tightened but your belly fluttered at his words. Your breath hitched and you bit your lip. The boys worried you were about to cry but you just nodded.
“Okay.”

A/n- this was more of an intro but, more to come!

taste ! ᥫ᭡
pairing: collegefootballplayer!rafe x cheerleader!reader
word count: 1.1k
summary: rafe’s ex girlfriend and him seem to be back together when you spot them making out before a football game. but you know it won’t be long before he’s yours again. based on the song ‘taste’ by sabrina carpenter
warnings: use of y/n, cursing, implied cheating, mentions of reader being short (5 feet to be exact), no smut
author’s note: second story based off of short n’ sweet tracks! if you want to be added to my rafe fic taglist reply to this post :)
you read somewhere that your dna stays in the other persons system after a kiss for 6 months. if that’s the case, the blonde girl kissing rafe three feet in front of you is basically kissing you, too.
as a cheerleader for the university of north carolina, you have to remain smiling at all times when in uniform. however, it’s hard to maintain a smile when your ex boyfriend is kissing your predecessor, his ex, before the game starts.
you watch as the pair stand outside the doors to the locker room. rafe has his helmet in his hand and the other is tucked on the girl’s lower back as he lowers his head ever so slightly to kiss her. she’s running her fingers through his hair, both feet on the ground. something you never had to do because you were five feet tall to be exact, always standing on your tippy toes to kiss rafe.
you roll your eyes as you speed walk past them, the rest of the cheer team is already on the sidelines. you went to the girls locker room because you forgot to put on the red lipstick everyone else had on. you didn’t expect to see rafe with his ex girlfriend outside the doors to the boys locker room.
you remember rafe telling you about his ex. olivia was her name. you had never seen her in person, but judging by how comfortable she is right now and her insanely long blonde hair, you know her to be his ex girlfriend.
but the fun fact you learned from a tiktok video, which may or may not be true, is lingering in your mind as you look back to find them still making out. you finally leave this section of the stadium and see the light of the football field through a corridor.
you make your way to the sidelines where the rest of the cheer team is and find your place.
it’s now the second quarter and the tar heels, are down by 6 points to duke university.
“saw rafe and olivia kissing before he came on the field. guess they’re back together,” you whispered to the cheerleader standing in front of you, chloe.
since you aren’t allowed to publically talk during a game, you didn’t look at her and just said it loud enough she’d hear.
chloe widened her eyes and looked at you, “what?!”
you nodded, still watching the football game. “yup. it’s only been—“
you’re cut off by the announcer, “and number 2, rafe cameron, secures the ball and is making his way to the endzone!”
and for a split second you forget how rafe is no longer your boyfriend because the first thing that comes out of your mouth is, “let’s go rafe!”
“touchdown chapel hill!”
the cheerleaders rally, doing high kicks and shaking their poms and you watch as two boys run to rafe and hit his helmet, a sign of appreciation. you assume those boys to be topper and kelce, rafe’s closest friends.
“that’s right baby! go rafey!” you hear a girl yell from the seats. you whip your head around and see olivia smiling and jumping, rafe’s number painted on her cheek.
you laugh dryly, “see.”
chloe rolls her eyes, “you guys’ll get back together. poor girls gonna get her heart broken again.”
she isn’t wrong. if olivia wants forever, and you bet she does, rafe isn’t the guy for her. everyone knows you and rafe are meant to be, and olivia must be oblivious to think rafe will really stay with her this time. he left her once and got with you and you’re just waiting for a drunken text from him late one night asking for you to come over to his dorm. you’ll always be a lingering thought in his head, and a taste in his mouth.
so you aren’t phased by rafe getting back together with his ex, because you are confident that he’ll come back to you. give it a few weeks, and you’ll be the one making out with him before a game and the one going home with him. you know that everything they do together is simply reused and everytime they kiss or breathe each others air; you were already there.
it’s now the fourth quarter and carolina is down by 2 points, there’s only 30 seconds left of the game.
you watch as rafe successfully intercepts the ball and runs it to the end zone, gathering cheers of anticipation from the crowd.
“number 2, rafe cameron, with an interception!”
you mumble words of encouragement under your breath, the rest of the cheerleaders jumping up and down.
rafe slides into the endzone just as the clock hits 0.
“and unc tar heels win the game 34-28!” cheers erupt from the crowd, very spirited fans screaming their heads off.
the cheerleaders run onto the field as the whole team crowds rafe, who pulls his helmet off and basks in the attention.
“fuck yeah!” rafe yells as the football players hit their chest and shove him around— football boy language.
“alright rafe!” you say as you and the rest of the cheerleaders run up to him.
rafe immediately recognizes your voice and looks at you.
you feel guilt for the butterflies in your stomach when he looks at you, out of breath and messy, sweaty hair. you feel bad for olivia, but at the same time, she should know shes just a rebound.
“good game, rafey!” you mock olivia and wave your poms in his face before skipping off the field and back to the sidelines where your stuff was.
you put your poms in your bag and immediately take your hair out of its high ponytail. you run your fingers through your hair and flip it once for good measure.
“heard you cheering me on,” you hear an all too familiar voice say from behind you. you turn around, a smirk on your face. sure enough, it’s rafe— helmet in hand with smeared eye black on his cheeks.
“did you hear olivia cheering you on too?” you teased. he stared into your eyes, looking down at you like he just knew you were trouble.
he shook his head, not once breaking eye contact. “nah. heard your pretty voice on the 40 yard line though.”
your stomach did flips as you rolled your eyes, his easy smile making you forget how you are technically no longer his.
“a’ight, i gotta go. y’need a ride home?” he asked as he slowly started walking backwards down the field.
“maybe. you taking the blonde home too or what?” you said loudly as he backed away.
rafe shook his head, “just you. you look good in that skirt, y/n!” he said before officially turning away and running off the field and inside the corridor.

Twisted Wonderland - He Hears You Singing (About Him)
Twisted Wonderland Writings Masterpost
Heartslabyul Edition, Savanaclaw Edition
Prompt: While relaxing, and doing chores around the Ramshackle dorm for your weekend restoration of the barely standing building, your thoughts drift to love songs from your old world. You think of songs that remind you of your closest fellow NRC student and significant other, and end up singing one while you work.
Reader: GN reader - They/Them pronouns and they are referred to as 'MC/Prefect' in this one. And let's all just agree that MC is a great singer- cuz some of these songs have mad vocals that I would never dream of trying to sing myself with my incredibly average voice, and I imagine a lot of you are the same.
Included Characters: Octavinelle Edition!
Warnings: None.
Request Rules & Information Here
~~~
Azul Ashengrotto - "Adore You" by Harry Styles
- Why did he stop by Ramshackle? He can't remember. It was something about taste testing the new spring menu, maybe? He's not sure it matters anymore, given how enamored he is with the sound of your voice right now.
- Is frozen in the doorway like a deer caught in headlights, he hadn't even realized it was you singing (he thought it was from your phone or something on a radio) until he turned the corner and saw you.
- When you see him, he turns all kind of shades of scarlet, embarrassed at being caught staring, but he quickly composes himself.
- Immediate compliments followed quickly by an offer to sing at the Mostro Lounge sometime- you'd be paid generously of course-
- On the outside he's acting cool, but the song in question really did fluster him quite a bit, and thoughts of you singing it again just for him keep intruding in his mind, and if you look closely you can see his ears remain a pretty shade of pink the whole conversation after.
- Does truly think you would look stunning dressed up in lavish clothes, preforming on the stage of the Mostro Lounge, are you sure you don't want to? He'll throw in a free meal plus pay!
"My, my, MC, that was a lovely performance. You should put those wonderful vocals to use, I'm sure everyone would be in awe of you at the Lounge. Some may even show up just to see you- I certainly would."
~~~
Jade Leech - "Dive" by Olivia Dean
- He's honestly quiet pleasantly surprised when he enters Ramshackle (without knocking of course) and hears your wonderful singing voice.
- A soft (dare I say genuine?) smile makes it's way to his face as he approaches the living area where you're cleaning, and stands patiently in the doorway for you to finish the song- one he's never heard before but it flows rather smoothly, much like the jazz played at the lounge.
- He finds the lyrics rather intriguing too, now what would inspire you to sing such a romantic song? A crush perhaps? The idea of you having enough of a crush on someone to sing such a song about them makes him... Well, he'll just focus on what he has right in front of him for now, and save those pesky feelings for later self-analysis.
- When you catch him he is completely shameless in his staring, as a matter of fact, his smile grows, before he gives a curious tilt of his head and motions with his hand for you to continue.
- What? Your voice was beautiful, of course he wants to hear it more. What's he doing here? Oh, well, he's come to ask if you'd like to be the first to taste test the Mostro Lounges new spring menu.
- Sure he didn't knock, but it's honestly your fault for not locking the front door- oh, the locks are broken? That can't possibly be safe. Perhaps you should stay at Octavinelle until they are fixed, that way he can hear your voice much more often.
- As a matter of fact, instead of 100 thaumarks a night for a room, he's sure he can arrange for you to sing at the Lounge every night for payment instead.
"Oh, please don't mind me, continue. Your voice is quite delightful, you should consider singing at the Lounge- though, I'm not sure I want anyone else to hear you but me..."
~~~
Floyd Leech - "Risk" by Gracie Abrams
- oHohOHo, you're never gonna live this down PT. 3
- The moment he barges into Ramshackle in a poor mood, looking for his favorite Shrimpy to cheer him up, he freezes at the sound of you're voice.
- But not for long.
- One second, you're alone, singing as you do some chores, and the next second you're being spun around in Floyd Leech's arms as he laughs cheerfully.
- He loves your voice. Keep singing! He wants to dance with you while you do! Forget those boring chores! He's here now, so you can both have fun! You're so adorable he could squeeze you till you pop!
- You should come by the lounge sometimes and sing to him to make his shifts less boring. He's sure Azul wouldn't mind- and if he does, then you two can just leave and have your own party elsewhere!
- He will, without a doubt, demand that you sing to and for him at the most random of times, hell, he might even barge into the middle of your class in a foul mood and demand a serenade from his Shrimpy.
- If you truly won't sing to him, his mood may worsen and you won't see him for awhile while he sorts himself out, whereas if you do sing for him, he will immediately start to feel better.
- The best moment he could ask for to fix his mood, is laying beside you his head in your lap, while you sing. It helps him decompress, and feel so much better from whatever was overwhelming him or souring his mood.
"Shrimpy~! Nice set of pipes! Well, don't stop singing, let's dance together! I knew you'd be doin' something fun, you always cheer me right up!"
~~~
Can you guys tell that Octavinelle is one of my favorite dorms? Particularly the twins? Especially Floyd, his unpredictability with his mood swings are very relatable as someone with severe untreated ADHD and bipolar tendencies. I just think he's neat guys. And fun to write. Anyway! Merry Christmas everyone, and I'll see you next post! ~ Roo

part one | part two |
Charles gripped the steering wheel a little too tightly as he pulled into the parking garage beneath his apartment building. His mind was racing, filled with images he shouldn’t be indulging in, and yet, he couldn’t seem to push them away. The moment outside her apartment—the way she’d looked at him, the way she’d let him kiss her—had been playing on a loop ever since he’d driven off.
He parked the car and sat there for a moment, staring at the concrete wall in front of him, trying to gather himself. He shouldn't have kissed her. He knew that. But the attraction had been building for weeks, simmering beneath the surface in every glance, every stolen moment, every excuse he found to keep her after class.
He could still feel the heat of her body against his, the softness of her lips, the way she’d kissed him back like she’d wanted it as much as he had. But she had a boyfriend. And he was her professor.
This is wrong.
The thought echoed in his head, but it felt distant, as though it was someone else’s voice whispering it to him. He rubbed his hand over his face, trying to shake the memory of her lips, the warmth of her breath against his neck, but it was no use. Even as he walked up the stairs to his apartment, he could still see her standing there in the streetlight, her chest rising and falling with the same breathless anticipation he’d felt.
He unlocked his door and stepped inside, the silence of his apartment suddenly oppressive. The dim lighting and sleek, modern décor felt cold compared to the heat still pulsing through him. He tossed his keys onto the counter, trying to focus on anything but her, but his mind betrayed him almost immediately.
He imagined her here. Walking around his place, barefoot and wrapped in nothing but one of his shirts, the fabric brushing her thighs. He pictured her wandering to his kitchen, her hair mussed from sleep, a sleepy smile on her lips as she padded toward him. Maybe she'd laugh softly as she caught him staring, her eyes playful, like she knew exactly what kind of power she had over him. And for a minute he felt jealous of her silly little boyfriend who probably got to see that sight often.
Damn it.
He cursed under his breath, running a hand through his hair, trying to push the fantasy away. It was dangerous to let himself think of her like that, but the image wouldn’t leave him. She was so young, so off-limits, and yet, he couldn’t stop himself.
He sank down onto the couch, staring blankly at the dark screen of his TV. The room felt too quiet, too empty, and he knew he wouldn’t be able to shake this feeling alone tonight. He needed a distraction. Something to get her out of his head, even if only for a few hours.
His hand instinctively reached for his phone. He scrolled through his contacts, stopping on a name he hadn’t seen in a while: Olivia. They had a history—nothing serious, but comfortable. She was someone he could call when he needed to forget, when he needed to lose himself in something physical, without the complications of attachment.
His finger hovered over the screen for a moment, hesitating. He shouldn’t call her. He knew that. It wouldn’t solve anything. But right now, it felt like the only way to stop thinking about the one person he shouldn’t be thinking about at all.
He tapped the screen, bringing the phone to his ear. It rang twice before Olivia answered, her voice warm and familiar.
"Well, well," she said with a teasing lilt. "It’s been a while. What’s the occasion?"
"I was thinking about you," he lied, his voice low and smooth, trying to push down the guilt gnawing at him. "Are you free tonight?"
There was a pause on the other end of the line, and then a soft laugh. "You’re lucky I don’t have plans. I’ll be over in twenty."
He hung up, tossing the phone onto the coffee table as he leaned back against the couch, trying to force himself to relax. But as the minutes ticked by, all he could think about was her. The student. The girl who had walked into his office that first day with a shy smile, who now occupied far too much of his thoughts. He could see her face so clearly, her lips parted as he leaned in to kiss her, the way her body had instinctively pressed against his.
His phone buzzed, pulling him from his thoughts. A twisted part of him hoped it was her. It was a message from Olivia: "Almost there."
He stood up, running his hands through his hair as he tried to shake off the images swirling in his head. This wasn’t about her. Tonight was about forgetting. About getting some distance from whatever had ignited between him and his student.
When Olivia knocked on the door, he opened it with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes. She stepped inside, giving him a once-over with an approving smirk before leaning in to kiss him. It was familiar, comfortable. But the moment her lips touched his, all he could think about was how different it felt. How wrong it felt.
They moved to the couch, her hands on his chest, her lips trailing down his neck, but his mind was somewhere else entirely. Even as Olivia’s fingers slid beneath the hem of his shirt, he couldn’t stop picturing her.
What would she be like here, in his apartment?
He imagined her standing in his bedroom doorway, her eyes heavy with the same desire he’d seen in them earlier tonight. He pictured the way she’d blush as he undressed her, the way her breath would hitch as his hands found her bare skin. The thought made his pulse quicken, heat pooling low in his stomach.
"Uhm, Charles hello? Are you even here" Olivia’s voice broke through his thoughts, and he blinked, realising he hadn’t responded to her in at least a minute.
"Yeah, sorry," he muttered, but even as he said it, his thoughts drifted back to the wrong person.
Olivia pushed him until the back of his knees his the sofa and she straddled him, shifting on his lap, her hands moving more insistently, but it wasn’t enough. None of this was enough to drown out the fire burning in him for someone else. He kissed Olivia, trying to lose himself in the moment, trying to block out the guilt. But as his lips moved against hers, all he could think about was how much he wished it was someone else.
Her lips. Her skin. Her breath.
No matter what he did, she was there in the back of his mind, haunting him, tempting him. And as Olivia’s hands roamed over his body, he couldn’t help but wonder what it would feel like if they were her hands instead. How she’d gasp at his touch, how her body would respond to him.
He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to silence the thoughts, but they only grew louder.
Eventually, Olivia pulled back, her brow furrowed as she studied his face. "Okay, what’s going on?" she asked, her voice edged with irritation. "You’re not really here, are you?"
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I’m sorry," he said, his voice thick with frustration—frustration at himself, at the situation. "It’s just...been a long day."
Olivia huffed, clearly unsatisfied with his answer. She stood, grabbing her jacket from the chair and slinging it over her shoulder. "Look, I don’t know what’s going on with you, but if you’re not into this tonight, just say so. I didn’t drive all this fucking way for you to act like this"
He stood up, guilt settling heavily in his chest. "It’s not you," he said, trying to smooth things over, but she waved him off.
"Yeah, I know it’s not me," she said sharply. "Whatever’s going on in your head, you need to figure it out."
Without another word, she turned and left, the door closing behind her with a loud slam.
He stood there in the silence of his apartment, the weight of his thoughts crashing back over him like a tidal wave. His mind immediately returned to her—his student. The one person he shouldn’t be thinking about, shouldn’t be wanting.
But he did.
And as he sank back onto the couch, staring at the empty space where Olivia had been, he knew that nothing was going to make this go away.
-
Charles sat behind his desk, trying to focus on the stack of papers in front of him. The morning sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow over his office, but he barely noticed. His mind was still a mess from the night before, from thoughts of her. He hadn’t been able to shake the memory of their kiss or the way his body had betrayed him, craving her even as he tried to distance himself. Even calling Olivia hadn’t worked; it had only made everything worse.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair as he leaned back in his chair. It had only been a few hours since he’d been in the office, but she was still there, in the back of his mind, haunting him. Every time he tried to focus on work, her face appeared, her lips parted slightly, her eyes dark and teasing.
He needed to get a grip. This was crossing lines—lines he shouldn’t even be near. She was a student. She had a boyfriend. But the thought of her in his office again made his pulse quicken in a way that was becoming all too familiar.
A soft knock on the door snapped him out of his thoughts. He cleared his throat, straightening in his chair. "Come in."
The door creaked open, and there she was—her. Standing in the doorway with that familiar mix of confidence and shyness that always threw him off balance. She was dressed in a simple blouse and skirt, but somehow, it felt different now. Everything about her felt different now.
"Professor Leclerc," she said, her voice soft as she stepped into the office, closing the door behind her. "I was hoping I could ask for some help with an assignment."
His heart skipped a beat, the way it always did when she was near. He forced himself to remain composed, giving her a nod as he gestured to the chair across from his desk. "Of course. What’s the issue?"
She walked over, moving with a slow, deliberate grace that set his nerves on edge. She sat down, crossing her legs in a way that drew his attention for a brief second before he snapped his eyes back to her face.
"It’s for another module," she said, sliding her notebook onto the desk between them. "Professor Gasly’s class, actually. It’s...similar to what you taught us last term, his is the History of France through Literature, so I thought maybe you could give me some advice."
"Gasly?" Charles raised an eyebrow, trying to keep his voice neutral. "He’s more than capable. Why didn’t you go to him?"
She hesitated for a moment, her eyes flickering up to meet his in a way that made his pulse jump. Then, she leaned forward slightly, her voice dropping just enough to send a ripple of tension through him.
"Because you do it better."
His throat tightened, and for a second, he wasn’t sure if he’d heard her correctly. "Pardon?"
She gave him a soft, almost playful smile. "You teach better."
He swallowed, trying to maintain control, but the way she was looking at him, the way her words lingered in the air—it was impossible to ignore. There was something different about her today. Something deliberate in the way she spoke, the way she held herself. And then, almost as if to confirm his suspicions, he felt it—her foot. It slid up against his calf, just lightly, but enough to send a jolt of awareness through him.
He froze, his breath catching in his throat as his eyes flicked to hers. She was still smiling, that same soft, teasing smile, but now there was something else in her gaze. Something that told him she knew exactly what she was doing.
"Is...is that so?" he managed to say, his voice a little rougher than he intended. He should stop this. He knew he should stop this. But the warmth of her foot against his leg, the subtle pressure of it moving higher—it was making it difficult to think straight.
"Yes," she said, her voice almost a purr now, her eyes never leaving his. "I always seem to understand things better when you explain them."
He shifted in his seat, trying to ignore the way his body was reacting to her touch. His pulse was racing, heat pooling in his stomach as her foot continued its slow, teasing movement up his leg. He should stop her. He should say something, push her away, remind her that this was completely inappropriate. But the words stuck in his throat, and instead, he found himself leaning forward, his hands gripping the edge of his desk as if he needed to hold on to something solid.
"What’s the assignment about?" he asked, his voice tight as he tried to steer the conversation back to safer ground.
She leaned back in her chair, her foot still resting against his leg, but now she seemed to relax, as if she’d gotten the reaction she wanted from him. She reached for her notebook, flipping it open casually as if nothing had just happened.
"It’s about narrative structures," she said, her tone suddenly more professional, though there was still a glint in her eye. "Professor Gasly is focusing on how different forms of storytelling can influence the reader’s emotional response. But his examples are so dry, you know? I thought you might have a better way of explaining it."
He stared at her for a moment, trying to ignore the lingering sensation of her foot against his leg. He could feel his heartbeat in his throat, his skin still buzzing from her touch. But he forced himself to focus on the task at hand, even though every fibre of his being was screaming at him to do something else entirely.
"Well..." He cleared his throat, trying to steady his voice. "Narrative structures are...complex. There’s a lot to unpack. It’s not just about the form, but how it interacts with the content—"
As he spoke, he felt her foot move again, this time trailing up his calf in a way that was both subtle and devastatingly effective. His words faltered for a moment, his hands gripping the desk tighter as he struggled to maintain his composure.
"You seem tense," she said softly, her lips curling into that teasing smile again.
He shot her a sharp look, his mind torn between wanting to stop this and wanting to see where it would go. "This isn’t appropriate," he said, though his voice lacked the firmness he intended.
She tilted her head, her eyes locking with his, and for a moment, the room seemed to shrink around them. "Maybe not," she said, her foot moving higher, "but I don’t think either of us wants to stop."
The tension between them was palpable now, thick and suffocating. He could feel the pull of her, the magnetic attraction that had been building for weeks, and it was taking everything in him not to close the distance between them. But then, a sharp buzz interrupted the moment, and his eyes flicked to her phone, which had lit up on the desk between them.
Her gaze shifted to the screen, and suddenly, her expression changed. The teasing light in her eyes flickered out as she stared at the message.
Logan: Have you seen my laptop charger?
For a moment, neither of them moved. The reality of the situation crashed down on them like cold water, and he could see the guilt flicker across her face, mirroring the same guilt that had been gnawing at him for days.
“I’m going to go, I need to help him.” Even though he had seen the message, she didn’t have to clarify who him was.
She stood up slowly, her notebook tucked under her arm, the teasing smile still playing on her lips. The charged moment between them hadn’t dissipated, even as she turned toward the door, ready to leave his office. Charles sat frozen in his chair, his heart still pounding from the subtle pressure of her foot against his leg, the warmth of her touch lingering on his skin.
This was wrong. He knew it. But as she reached for the door handle, something inside him snapped—something primal, something that had been building between them for weeks, tightening with every stolen glance, every brush of hands, every lingering look.
"Thank you for the help, Professor," she said, her voice soft, almost too casual, like she wasn’t aware of the storm she’d just stirred in him.
He stood up without thinking, his chair scraping against the floor, the sound cutting through the tension. She paused, glancing over her shoulder at him, a question in her eyes.
His pulse roared in his ears as he stepped toward her, his chest tightening with the weight of everything he shouldn’t be doing, everything he’d promised himself he wouldn’t do. But his feet moved on their own, carrying him toward her, the space between them shrinking with every heartbeat.
She opened her mouth to say something, but before she could, his hand was on the door, pressing it shut behind her. The suddenness of it made her inhale sharply, her body instinctively turning to face him, her back against the door. They were inches apart now, the air between them thick, heavy with unspoken tension.
"Wait," he said, his voice low, rough, as if it had been dragged from somewhere deep inside him.
She blinked up at him, her breath coming in quick, shallow bursts. Her lips parted as if to respond, but no words came out. Instead, her eyes darted to his, and in that moment, he saw it—the same desire, the same need reflected back at him.
This is wrong, the voice in his head screamed, but his body wasn’t listening. His hand slid to the back of her neck, his fingers curling into the soft strands of her hair, and then, without another thought, he pulled her toward him and kissed her.
The kiss was fierce, desperate—like all the tension, all the forbidden longing between them had finally exploded into something they could no longer control. She gasped against his lips, but instead of pulling away, she pressed into him, her hands gripping the front of his shirt as if she’d been waiting for this moment just as much as he had.
Her lips were soft, warm, moving against his with a hunger that mirrored his own. His other hand found her waist, pulling her closer until there was no space left between them, until he could feel the rapid beat of her heart against his chest.
He kissed her harder, deeper, his mind a blur of want and need. Her hands slid up to his shoulders, her fingers tangling in his hair as she arched into him, her body responding to his in a way that sent a surge of heat through him.
But even in the midst of the kiss, a small voice in the back of his mind screamed at him to stop. This was a line they couldn’t cross—a line they were already crossing. She was his student. He was her professor. And this...this could ruin everything.
But her lips, the way she kissed him back with the same reckless abandon, the way her body fit so perfectly against his—it was intoxicating, and for a moment, he didn’t care about the consequences. He didn’t care about anything except the way she felt in his arms, the way she was clinging to him like she didn’t want to let go.
He pulled back just enough to catch his breath, his forehead resting against hers as they both stood there, gasping for air, their bodies still pressed together. Her eyes were closed, her lips swollen from the kiss, and the sight of her like this—breathless, flushed, in his arms—made his pulse race all over again.
But the moment the reality of what they’d just done hit him, a wave of guilt crashed over him.
This was wrong. So wrong.
He loosened his grip on her waist, his fingers trembling slightly as he stepped back, putting a sliver of space between them. She opened her eyes slowly, looking up at him with a mixture of shock and something else—something that made his heart clench painfully in his chest.
"Professor..." she whispered, her voice barely audible.
He swallowed hard, trying to steady his racing heart, trying to gather the words he knew he should say. But all he could manage was her name, soft and broken, as if it was a plea. A prayer.
The air between them had shifted completely. The kiss, which had started as a release of tension, was now spiralling into something much more dangerous. Her body was pressed against his, her hands gripping his shirt tightly, pulling him closer, as though she couldn’t get enough of him. His pulse pounded in his ears, drowning out any rational thought.
Charles could barely think past the feel of her lips on his, the heat of her body against his. This was wrong—he knew it with every logical part of his mind—but his control had snapped. Every line he had drawn, every moral boundary he had tried to maintain had been washed away in the wake of her kiss, her touch.
Her fingers tugged at his shirt, pulling it free from where it had been neatly tucked into his trousers. The feel of her hands slipping under the fabric, cool against his heated skin, sent a shudder down his spine. He groaned against her lips, the sound deep and guttural as he kissed her harder, more hungrily.
His own hands began to roam, unable to stop themselves. They found her waist, then slid upwards, brushing over the soft fabric of her blouse. Before he knew it, he was fumbling with the buttons of her shirt, his fingers trembling slightly, fueled by a need that felt like it had been building for far too long.
She made a small, breathy sound when his fingers brushed against her skin, and it only spurred him on. One button, then another. Her shirt was opening, revealing smooth skin, and his mouth was suddenly desperate to taste her, to explore every inch of her that he had only imagined in fleeting, guilty fantasies.
Her hands moved frantically now, pulling his shirt free and sliding up his torso, nails lightly scraping his skin. The sensation sent a shockwave through him, and he kissed her harder, deeper, feeling like he was on the brink of losing himself completely. He should stop. He knew he should stop. But the way she was responding, the way she clung to him, told him she didn’t want to stop either.
Just as he pulled her shirt open further, his lips trailing down her neck, a loud, jarring sound broke through the heated fog of the moment.
The alarm on his phone.
The sharp, persistent beeping pierced through the haze of desire, yanking them both back to reality in an instant.
For a moment, they both froze, their bodies still tangled together, his hand halfway to her bare skin. The sound was so out of place, so intrusive, that it felt almost surreal. His phone buzzed relentlessly from his desk, a sharp reminder that there was a world outside of this office—one that didn’t care about the chaos unfolding inside it.
He pulled back slightly, his breathing ragged, his forehead still resting against hers. His shirt was rumpled, her blouse half undone, and for a split second, neither of them moved, as if caught in the aftermath of a hurricane.
Charles inhaled deeply, the reality of the situation crashing down on him, but instead of feeling guilt or regret, all he felt was impatience—a need to pick up where they had left off.
She looked up at him, her eyes dark, her lips swollen from their kiss. There was no awkwardness in her gaze, no second-guessing. Only desire. The kind of desire that made everything else fade away.
The beeping of his phone continued, insistent and irritating. His eyes flickered to the device, and then back to her. His next lecture. Of course. Duty called, but so did she, standing in front of him, half undressed, looking at him like she wanted nothing more than for him to finish what they’d started.
For a moment, he considered ignoring the alarm, cancelling everything for the rest of the day just to stay here with her. The temptation was overwhelming.
But then he let out a soft, low chuckle, dark and husky. "This...isn't over, mon ange."
She bit her lip, a flush spreading across her cheeks, but she didn’t move, didn’t try to fix her shirt. Instead, she stood there, still so close that he could feel the heat radiating off her, her chest rising and falling in quick, shallow breaths.
He leaned in, his lips grazing her ear, his voice a rough whisper. "Come back tonight. Six p.m."
Her breath hitched, her body leaning into his without hesitation.
She pulled back slightly to meet his gaze, her eyes wide, filled with heat and something else—anticipation. Her lips parted, but no words came out, just a nod, subtle but unmistakable.
The look in her eyes sent another surge of need coursing through him, but the persistent beeping of his phone was a reminder that the world wouldn’t wait for him, no matter how much he wanted to lose himself in this moment.
Slowly, he released his grip on her, forcing himself to step back, though every instinct told him to pull her back into his arms. The space between them felt like a physical ache, but the promise of later hung between them, heavy and electric.
He adjusted his shirt, trying to bring some semblance of order to his appearance as he crossed the room to silence the alarm on his phone. His fingers shook as he dismissed the reminder for his next lecture.
"Six," he repeated, his voice firmer now as he met her gaze once more.
She stood there for a moment longer, her blouse still undone, a look of raw hunger in her eyes. Then, she nodded again, turning toward the door, her movements slow, deliberate. She buttoned up her shirt but didn’t bother to tuck it back in as she left his office, the door closing behind her with a soft click.
Charles stood there for a long moment after she was gone, staring at the closed door, his chest still tight with everything he was feeling. His hands trembled slightly as he ran them through his hair, his mind already racing ahead to what would happen later tonight.
Six o’clock couldn’t come fast enough.

CAUGHT carl grimes x fem!reader
warnings — both are 18+, carl is a few years older than reader, reader is daryl’s adopted daughter, getting caught, pretty much perv and sub!carl
part two.
carl had his eye on you from the moment he’d met you. you were a meek little girl daryl found in the woods, that he later took under his wing. it was an unspoken thing that you had become his daughter, a carbon copy of your dad, badass, independent, great with a crossbow.
maybe at first you were just the only girl his age, but growing up with you, watching you go from skittish to, quite frankly, better at fighting than him made him fall for you even more. he liked how you did what you wanted and it was always smart.
it took over his mind, you took over his fantasies. he’d catch himself in the middle of the night, trying to relieve stress by getting off really quickly. his occasional routine of just trying to ease himself turning into teasing himself at the thought of your hands doing it instead.
he tried to be as quiet as possible but as time went by the urges just kept getting stronger. it went from a nighttime thing to something he’d do whenever he had the chance. it turned into looking at you doing such innocent things like standing in a way that made your shirt ride up, hell, even smiling at him had his brain spiraling in ways it shouldn’t have.
you were just being kind, there’s no way you could see into his horny little mind that just exploded after years of being locked away during such an unfortunate time.
oh but he should have known, that look in your eye that had him questioning whether it was all in his head or not. the things you seemed to do on purpose, like bending over and overexaggerating your movements getting up.
today was a little more obvious, you recently found a red bra on a run. it wasn’t normal to find cute things that made you feel confident, and when you saw it was your size you took it without hesitation. you wore a loose white tank top that’s strap would slide off onto your shoulder, tying it up to expose a little of your belly with the “it’s hot” excuse.
all that paired with that look in your eye sent carl reeling.
thankfully that day he was mostly home, and alone spare judith’s babysitter outside. he caught his focus flipping from his comic to you. he throws his head back at the thought of you showing him under your shirt, under your bra, everything.
he groans and slides his jeans off, wrapping his fist around himself and stroking slowly, just how he imagined you would. he just knew you would tease him, agonizingly slow movements, just torment he wouldn’t be able to get enough of. the tranquility of being home alone allowed him to let a few noises go, groans and whimpers of your name falling from his lips.
you make your way up the steps of the grimes’ house, meeting olivia on the porch. she held judith on her lap, giving you a small smile. “as much as i love her, i’m definitely ready to hand her over.”
you laugh and take judith, waving goodbye and making your way into, practically, your second home. you bounce judith on your hip, taking her up to her room. you could tell she was sleepy, not only was she sleeping when you walked up, but she was rubbing her eyes as well.
you coo at her and set her down, waiting until she was fast asleep to make your way out. you walk into the hallway deep in thought about what to do while you wait for her to wake up.
then there’s a noise, a soft one that pulls you out of your head. another one, this time a moan that you assume is pain initially. you furrow your brows and focus, hearing a breathless call of your name from the direction of carl’s room.
you slowly walk to his door, pushing it open just a bit to get a view of his body. you could see clearly he was fucking himself and thinking of you, all your conspiring paying off finally. you watch and wait, listening to his noises get more desperate and breathy as he gets closer.
you wait until he’s about to finish, walking through the door and slamming it behind you. he panics and tries to cover up, looking at you with embarrassment and pain from his ruined orgasm. you walk to him, bending down to tip his hat, your other hand going to graze over the tip of his cock.
his hips jut upwards and he sighs, closing his eyes and throwing his head back. you bring your hand back to your side and stand up, his curious, waiting eye following you as you pull a chair up next to his bed.
“i didn’t tell you to stop. put on a show for me, cowboy.”

Hooked On A Feeling
Chapter Twenty-Four - Milo's Birthday
Daniel is a Formula One driver, but, more importantly, he was a single dad to a wonderful little girl. He wants her to be a normal little girl, to have a normal social life, so he sends her to daycare. That was where she met Milo, her future best friend.
Milo's mother was incredibly stressed. She worked so hard to provide a good life for her son. But then he makes a new friend, a friend who has a hot dad (ofc they fall in love)

That night, the night after her run in with Kerry-Ann, she found herself at the kitchen table. Her old, beaten up laptop sat open in front of her and she typed away, writing her story.
She hadn't opened her laptop since their Monaco trip. A small glass on wine sat on the placemat beside her laptop. She brought it to her lips, finishing off the glass before she put it back down and returned to her writing.
"Momma?"
Her head snapped towards the door. "Munchkin, what're you doing up?" She asked as she saved her work and closed her laptop (every time she did, it was a wonder whether it would turn back on again).
Milo slipped into the seat opposite her, sitting on his hands. He rocked gently from side to side as he looked at his mother. "My bed at Danny's house is comfier," he muttered. It wasn't Milo's bed, just the bed in the guest bedroom that had been decorated with enough stuffed toys that the bed beneath was barely visible.
But it might has well have been Milo's bed.
"He'll be back soon, munchkin," she said and pushed her laptop away. "I miss him and Olivia, too."
Leaving her laptop on the table, she put her glass in the sink with the rest of the dishes and waited for Milo to stand up. Together, they headed back upstairs. She tucked Milo in and headed to her own bedroom.
It was the middle of the day in whichever part of the world Daniel was in. She called him, holding the phone to her ear as she called him.
It didn't take Daniel very long to pick up. The moment she heard his voice, she couldn't hide the elation she was filled with. Not that she had anybody to hide it from.
"Hey, honey," he said. Daniel sat outside of the AlphaTauri hospitality unit, coffee in front of him.
"Hi, Danny," she said quietly. "I miss you."
"I miss you, too," He replied.
She didn't want to bring up her unpleasant encounter with Kerry-Ann. Not yet, anyway. They talked, talked about how the Grand Prix weekend was going, talked about how Milo had been enjoying school since he left
"He misses you, too," she said to him, and Daniel chucked. There was nothing she could have said to him that would have made him happier. "Danny, we need to talk about something."
From across the world, she couldn't see as his face fell. "What's the matter? Did something happen? Is it Olivia?"
"No, no," she said quickly. "No, Danny. I had a run in with Kerry-Ann earlier. And I know it's stupid, I know she was just trying to get into my head, but I can't stop thinking about what she said to me."
"What did she say to you?" He asked. He had sat up straighter in his seat, his posture tense.
She sucked in a breath. "First she... she accused me of being with you for your money. Which, I swear I'm not interested in you for money, Danny. I love the person you are inside, I swear."
"It's okay, sweets. I know. She was the one with me for my money, not you. I know you're not." He let out a breath. "What else did she say?"
Guilt ran through her. She knew this bit wasn't true, either. She knew how Daniel felt about her. But still, she hadn't been able to stop thinking about it. "She said that you don't love me," she said. "She said that you won't ever love me."
Silence. That was maybe the worst thing he could have done. Daniel said nothing. He didn't say a single thing to her for a good minute. Oh God, she was going to throw up.
But then Daniel let out a breath. "I did love Kerry-Ann. I loved her enough to have a child about her. But she showed who she really was after Olivia was born. I can't love someone that awful. She's got it in head that it's impossible I don't love her. So she thinks I can't love."
He paused, giving her a second to soak it in. "She's wrong, though. She thinks I can't love, but I love you so much that sometimes, I don't understand how it's possible. I don't understand how I can be so in love with another human being. But I am. I'm in love with you and I can't wait to buy you a ring."
She couldn't stop herself from gasping. "You don't mean that."
"Fuck, baby, I do. I've been gone a day and I just can't stop thinking about you. I know it might be soon but I can't help but dream about a future with you."
She couldn't stop herself from crying, sobs muffled by her pillow. "I can't wait for you to come home," she said through her cries.
Now, their reunion after the Grand Prix weekend was exactly what you'd think it would be. It was sweet and loving. Daniel took the four of them out for dinner and then, well, he didn't let her out of bed very much after that.
The next two months were bliss. Pure bliss.
With every Grand Prix that went by, things got a little easier. Nothing Kerry-Ann said could affect her, not when she knew how much Daniel loved her.
But then they ran into a bump. Daniel hadn't thought to ask when Milo's birthday was. But they were coming up to a year ad still, Milo hadn't celebrated his sixth birthday yet.
But then, a few weeks before the Vegas Grand Prix, she started coming home with presents. She snuck them into the house and hid them under the bed they shared.
"What's this?" He asked, watching the third time she pushed a toy beneath the bed.
She sat up and dusted off her hands. "Presents. For Milo's birthday."
Daniel moved closer to her. "Honey, when is Milo's birthday?" He asked. He had several Grand Prix coming up; he just had to hope that Milo's birthday didn’t fall on one of those weekends.
"23rd," she answered.
"What, November?"
"November."
"Fuck!" Daniel couldn't stop himself, couldn't stop the words escaping his lips. "Shit, baby. I'm in Vegas that weekend." His head fell against his shoulder and he let out a huff. "I'm gonna get him something good, I promise."
She ran her fingers through his curls. "I know you will, Danny," she said and kissed his forehead.
"I'll arrange for a party, too. And then we can do some when I'm back."
That was exactly how Daniel spent the next few weeks, planning and arranging Milo's birthday. Just like Olivia's birthday, he arranged for a custom made cake. There was a bouncy castle, a magician and more. Daniel was going to do whatever he could to give Milo the best birthday ever.
Milos birthday came around and Daniel wasn't there. Milo said he understood, but everybody could tell just how upset he was. Even more so when Kerry-Ann refused to bring Olivia to the party.
He spent most of his party in his bedroom. The bouncy castle, the custom made cake, the magician. He wanted none of it if his family wasn't all there together.
So Milo didn't enjoy his birthday on the day he turned six. He missed Daniel, he missed Olivia, enjoying it was near impossible. But he did enjoy the cake, the dinosaur cake Daniel had gotten for him.
Daniel was home the next day. He picked Olivia up from her mothers on the way and took them back to his home. Where she was waiting. With sweet, sweet Milo.
"Don't tell Milo, okay Livvy?" Daniel said to her as they pulled up outside. "It's meant to be a surprise."
Olivia mimmicked locking her lips and throwing away the key. She pulled her backpack onto her shoulders and followed her father up to the house. "Did you have fun at the party?" He asked as he pushed the key into the lock and twisted it.
"Oh, mummy wouldn't let me go to the party," she said and walked in, running up to her bedroom.
"What?!" Daniel cried as he dropped his bags.
His shout alone got the attention of everybody in the house. Milo came running down stairs (after his reunion with Olivia) to jump into his arms and she, his beautiful, wonderful girlfriend, came from the kitchen.
Daniel hugged Milo and let him go as he strode towards her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and he held her waist. "Hi, baby," she said and kisssd him.
Daniel kissed her back, but pulled away quickly. "Kerry-Ann didn't let her come to Milo's party," he muttered. "That bitch didn't let Olivia go to the party."
"It's okay," she whispered, running her hands through his hair in a soothing manner. "It's okay. We're gonna go and have a nice dinner tonight, right?"
He nodded. "Right. Yeah. Really nice dinner."
Daniel wanted full custody of Olivia. More than anything in the world, he wanted full custody. But, first, he was gonna marry this girl.

SVU team x Reader:
The whole team and their kids are meeting up for a nice picnic at the park. Noah and Jesse ask if Reader and Carisi can come play football with them. While watching you play with the kids, Olivia is losing herself in watching you. Amanda notices.

The warm spring wind on this Saturday gently caressed the green meadows of Central Park, while the sun slowly emerged from behind the clouds and scattered its rays over the many playing children and their parents. A pleasant breeze blew through the branches, the sounds of nature. In the middle of this hustle and bustle was the team from the Special Victims Unit, who wanted to gather outside for a well-deserved afternoon.
Olivia Benson, SVU's veteran captain, entered the park with her 9-year-old son, Noah. The bright sun reflected in the little boy's eyes as he excitedly led his mother to the playground. Olivia smiled, her mind briefly lingering on work, but today was a day of rest and togetherness.
Amanda Rollins entered the park a few minutes later with her two daughters, Jesse and Billie, chatting happily and moving from one exciting story to the next. Dominick Carisi was also there and they both watched their girls lovingly, a warm smile on their faces before Noah called the two girls with a loud scream of their names and they immediately rushed over to join him. Carisi smiled proudly and felt blessed to share this moment of joy with his family.
Finn Tutuola, the group's sergeant, also entered the park, alone but with a big grin on his face. He knew he would already enjoy the company and the vibrancy of his team and the park, even though he didn't have any children of his own. His colleagues and their families had become like his own family, and that was more than enough for him.
And then there was you, an important part of the team, arriving with a warm smile and a picnic basket in hand. Although you didn't have children of your own in your young years, you always had a special connection with your colleagues' children and enjoyed spending time with them.
Together you all found a shady spot at a picnic table under a large tree and laid out lunch while the children ran around and laughed. The world seemed to stand still for a moment as the SVU team and their children enjoyed the beauty of life together in the park.
You all sat together at the table, chatting comfortably while relaxing leisurely. The mood was light and relaxed as the children ran across the lawn cheering each other. Noah and Jesse had just discovered the soccer ball in the bag Olivia had brought, and they enthusiastically asked Carisi and you to play soccer with them. "Y/n, can you play soccer with us? Please, please!" Noah asked and you couldn't resist his bright and big eyes, so you agreed to join the game with a smile. "Sure, Noah. I'm in."
"And you, Uncle Carisi? Do you play on our team?" Jesse also asked, taking his hand without hesitation and looking at him with her googly eyes. "Of course Jesse."
The kids cheered as you and Carisi joined the soccer group. You should play on Noah's team and Carisi on the girls' team. You both stood up, your eyes meeting briefly before joining the excited children. You took a quick look at the ADA and saw a smile on his lips. It was a moment of quiet exchange of togetherness.
You felt the familiar texture of the soccer ball beneath your feet as you juggled the ball, passing it to Noah with precision and skill. Carisi appeared less adept, passing the ball to the children more often than he had it under the soles of his shoes himself.
Noah in particular was impressed by your ability to keep up with them. He watched in fascination as you skillfully outsmarted Carisi, mastered the ball perfectly and effortlessly fought your way through the walls that Carisi seemed to build with his body. "Wow, y/n! You play really good!" The little boy remarked, pausing for a moment to take a sip of water. "Thanks, Noah. I used to play a lot, I was even on a team."
"Really cool!" the laughter of the children filled the air as they challenged each other and continued to run with you across the lawn, accompanied by the deft movements of their adult teammates.
Carisi was surprised by your skills on the ball. He didn't expect you to be so good. His respect for you grew as he watched you jump over his straddle with ease and grace, overwhelming him to the point where he wanted to give up. A warm feeling of admiration spread through him as he watched you having fun with the children and sharing their joy.
“Respect y/n, I didn’t expect that.” spoke the young ADA, giving you a high five. You smiled gratefully as you passed the ball back to Jesse, who happily passed it to her sister.
Meanwhile, Olivia continued to sit at the table and watched you play with the children. She admired the ease with which you blended into the world, the bright smile on your face as you laughed and joked with the children. It was a sight that warmed her heart and she couldn't help but get lost in your movements.
Amanda noticed her best friend's pensive look and stepped next to her, holding her third and youngest daughter in her arms. "Earth to Liv?" She asked, waving her hand in front of the brunette's face. She looked up in shock, her smile disappearing. "Sorry Amanda, what did you say?"
"You should stop staring at her like that. You're already drooling like a dog who can't wait to get it´s bone," the blonde giggled before sitting across from her best friend and placing her hand on the brunette's. "You're so in love, how can you hide it any longer?"
Olivia raised her eyebrows in surprise and now completely looked away from you and over to Amanda, who had an amused smile on her lips. "What? In love? I don't know what you're talking about, Amanda. I'm just being professional and watching the football game"
Amanda rolled her eyes and grinned mischievously as she gave the baby a bottle as she began to whine. "Sure, Liv. Just like I 'professionally' get ice cream out of the fridge at night as soon as the kids are asleep so I don't have to share. Come on, feel free to admit that you like y/n."
The unit captain laughed softly and shook his head to make her thoughts disappear. "Well, maybe a little." She spoke admittedly, pulling her hand away to brush her hair out of her face. "A little? Ha! I knew it! So when are you finally going to take her out?"
Olivia leaned back and let her gaze wander back to you, who was currently carrying Noah on your shoulders while you happily ran with him to the playground to hang him on the climbing frame. As you did, you heard Noah's loud laughter as you swayed him back and forth like a plane.
"Maybe I should think of something. But at the moment I'm just happy that she fits in so well with the team." She spoke and Amanda winked at her as she stood up to go to Jesse and Billie who called her. She walked around the table again and playfully pressed her elbow against her shoulder.
"Sure, sure. But don't forget that sometimes life is too short, especially in this job, to not enjoy it. So go ahead, do something! Maybe you could invite her to a romantic dinner."
Olivia laughed and nodded her head, imagining how she should ask you and where she should take you if you agreed to her. She looked over at you and Noah again, then decided to join you and spend time with you. She was nervous but also excited about the possibility of asking you out and having a lot of fun in the process if she found the courage to ask you.

Sypnosis — How would Alexandra Cabot be jealous, moreover, when she’s drunk.
Note — Fluff, Teasing, Mutual Pining, Implied Sexual Content, Established Relationship, Cussing // MDNI
(Female reader centered, no pronouns used)
———————————————————————
• — She is one jealous blonde. Alex would never admit it, but the proprietorial glint in her blue eyes says otherwise.
• — She understands the essential of your most kind self to be a people person, but you were just to friendly it made you oblivious.
• — Everytime you talk to someone else, you have this habit of giving them a slight touch on the shoulder. Alex would stay silent and observe with sulk, knowing that she wanted you to touch her and her only.
• — Alex has a mannerism of biting her lip in annoyance, rolling her eyes in frustration. She would scroll endlessly to nowhere on her phone and silently wishing the man would stop talking to you about his favorite liqour, only because you asked.
• — From the table with Olivia and Elliot, she sneered under her breath, unable to look away from you and your desirable dress. You looked beautiful, and Alex had six shots of tequila.
• — When she gets fed up, she would walk over to you to stand beside yourself as she intertwines your hands together. Alex would put her chin on your shoulder, being overly clingy in public as you falter the conversation when you realize she’s needy and jealous.
• — Only, Alexandra Cabot is never the type of woman to be needy or even show affection outside especially at a party, when she herself doesn’t know if she’s drunk or not.
• — At first, you try to ignore the way she traces circles on your thigh, feeling her breathe against your neck. You assume she was sleepy, and the man assumed she was your friend.
• — “Can I have your number? And your friend’s as well if she wants, I have a bro who’s into blondes.” He laughs, only to see the shiny ring on your finger matching Alex’s.
• — When she heard the guy, Alex starts pressing the lips against your neck. You excuse yourself to drag her out of the party. You grunt when she starts hugging you, her words slurring as she rambles about how she undeniably hates the bartender.
“God, I should’ve smacked that fucking smirk off his face.“
“Alexandra, you’re drunk.”
“And you look so pretty right now.”
“You’re drunk. Let’s go home.”
“No, I’m not. I’m fine, baby.”
“Why on earth are you pining me against the bathroom wall, then?”
• — Alex would laugh to herself, continuing to press kisses all over your face. You feel a wave of bliss when she plants marks all over your neck, only to realize she is drunk. You pull away gently, and she rolls her eyes playfully.
• — When you reach home, you take care of her. Changing her attire, brushing her teeth, and giving her aspirin. With her hands wrapped around you, she hugs you tight in her sleep. Tomorrow’s going to be absolute hell.
• — In the morning, Alex laid beside you, counting the love marks on your neck before smiling to herself sheepishly.
“I was that drunk, huh?”
“You tell me.”
“Why am I wearing hello kitty pyjamas?”
“Go back to sleep.”

The Flower Girl - Part 3
“You remember what to do, don’t you, Gracie?” Olivia asked, handing her a basket full of flower petals.
“Uh-hu!” Grace mumbled around her pacifier, nodding eagerly. No! She couldn’t walk down the aisle like this! She was supposed to be getting married! This was supposed to be the best day of her life!
“Good girl,” said Olivia, giving her a gentle push.
Grace toddled awkwardly, her legs pushed apart by the thickness of her soggy diaper. She waddled into the entranceway and stood there with the aisle ahead of her. Heads turned in her direction, smiles slipped from faces, and people started whispering to each other.
She saw Rob standing at the altar, her gorgeous husband-to-be, staring at her with a stunned expression on his face – his beautiful bride was dressed as an overgrown flower girl, her sexy body crammed into a ridiculous little girl’s dress, her elegant hair in pigtails, a dummy in her mouth, the hint of a nappy flashing about her waist.
Grace’s mother hurried over to her. “What’s going on?” she whispered, taking in the sight of Grace’s braless tits crammed into the blouse of the dress, and the flower crown in her hair. “What are you doing? Why aren’t you in your wedding dress?” Then her nose twitched as she smelled her adult daughter’s wet diaper. “Grace…” she said in shock, looking down at her daughter’s crotch, seeing the hint of discoloured padding peeking out below the hem of her poofy dress. “Have you wet yourself?”
“Jessica’s wearing my wedding dwess!” Grace chirped, her words slightly muffled by her pacifier. “It wooks so much better on her dan it does on a stupid, big-titted baby wike me. I’m just da flower giwl!”
Grace was cringing inside, but at least her mother knew that something was wrong. She took her daughter’s hand looking deeply concerned, making as if to usher Grace back out of the door, but at that moment there was movement behind them, and she looked up. Immediately, her horrified expression relaxed into a smile. No. Grace looked around as well and saw Jessica standing there in her wedding dress, smirking at her. No! Not her mother too! How was Jessica doing this?! Someone had to help her!
But nobody did. Her mother turned her back around and patted her on her soggy diapered bum. “Go on, sweetie,” she coaxed. “You know what to do. Being the flower girl is a very important job!”
Grace started toddling down the aisle, the sagging seat of her nappy flashing beneath the short hem of her flower girl dress with every step she took. She willed herself to stop, concentrated as hard as she could on taking back control of her body, but it was useless. She reached into the basket she was carrying and tossed a handful of flowers into the air, giggling delightedly.
Everyone was looking at her very differently now, smiling broadly and making cutesy faces at her.
Then, quite suddenly, she stopped. For a moment, Grace thought that she’d got control of her body back, but then, with a thrill of horror, she realised that there was a growing pressure in her bowels. Oh God, she thought. Not that. Please, anything but that!
Grace’s face went red. She clenched her fists and bent her knees. Then, on what was supposed to be the most special day of her life, in front of all her family and friends, in front of the man she was supposed to marry and the woman who was stealing him from her, Gracie let out a loud grunt and started making a big, stinky mess in her diaper.
There was a chorus of ‘awwws’ and some tittering laughter in the crowd.
Grace was screaming inside her head, but on the outside she just hitched a big smile back onto her face as she stood up straight again when she was done. With her pants now full of poop, she continued stomping up at aisle, tossing out flowers, her loaded nappy now drooping well below the hem of her dress, swinging pendulously between her thighs for all to see.
Grace felt like she was going mad. The shame was too much. This couldn’t be happening. This couldn’t be how she walked down the aisle! It had to be some sort of nightmare! She looked up at Rob, her last hope, but his eyes were fixed over her head. He was staring at Jessica with adoration in his eyes. No!
Once she got close to the altar, Caroline and Annie moved forwards to take her by the hands and guide her off to the side with them, where she stood for the recent of the ceremony, fidgeting with her dress. She wasn’t even watching when Jessica and Rob said their vows and kissed. She was too busy looking down at her diaper, shaking her bottom and watching her loaded Pampers jiggling about between her legs.
Not long afterwards, she was led over to a corner for a nappy change. Her three bridesmaids did it – the people who should have been her bridesmaids. Annie tickled her tummy, Caroline pulled silly faces at her, and Olivia worked away at her messy bottom with a pack of wet wipes. Grace wished she could be swallowed up by the ground and disappear forever, or better yet wake up to find this had all been a horrible dream, but all she could do was giggle and gurgle while her three best friends changed her stinky diaper.
Once she was clean and dry, a fresh pair of Pampers hugging her bottom, she was led over to Jessica.
“There you are, sweetie!” she cooed, her eyes glinting again. “What a good girl you were! I know you had a little whoopsie-daisy poo-poo accident in your nappy in the middle of the aisle, but that’s only to be expected of a big baby like you.”
Grace had never hated anyone more in her whole life.
“And I know you must be a bit upset about not getting to marry Rob,” Jessica continued, “but I have a surprise for you! Rob and I are going to adopt you as our little girl! Isn’t that nice?”
Grace felt like her insides had turned to ice. Adopted? How long was this going to go on for?! But she started jumping up and down on the spot in excitement. “Yay! Yay! Yay! You’re gonna be my Mama and Dada!”
“That’s right, little one!” she cooed. “I’m going to take such good care of you.”
“Maybe you’ll even be able to get married yourself one day,” one of the women surrounding them said to Grace.
Jessica laughed. “Oh no, I don’t think marriage is going to be in Gracie’s future. She’s far too immature for that. I’m going to keep her away from boys.”
“But Mama!” Grace whined. “I wanna get married!”
Quite suddenly, in full view of everyone, Jessica lifted up the back of Grace’s dress and delivered several sharp swats to her behind, aiming for what little of her bottom wasn’t covered by her thick disposable diaper.
“Owwwwie!” Grace cried, tears filling her eyes. Her bottom was stinging painfully. She seethed on the inside. If she still had control of her body, she swore she’d rip and claw at Jessica until she was nothing but ribbons.
“Bad baby!” Jessica scolded, and Grace felt her lower lip beginning to tremble. “No boys for you, little girl. You’ve proved you’re too immature for dating, let alone marriage.”
Tears ran down Grace’s cheeks. “Sowwy, Mama!” she sobbed.
“Suck your thumb, baby,” Jessica ordered, and Grace’s thumb immediately flew to her lips. She shoved the digit into her mouth and started sucking on it wetly. A line of drool spilled from her mouth and down her chin.
“Good girl,” said Jessica.
“I see you’ve got her in hand,” Grace’s mother chuckled. She’d just walked over to join them. “I never spanked little Gracie myself, but maybe that was a mistake.”
“Oh yes, I think so,” said Jessica. “A naughty little girl like her needs plenty of strict discipline. She’ll be under my thumb for a very, very long time.”
Everyone nodded their heads approvingly, and Grace’s mother said, “I’m so glad you helped us all understand that my daughter is really just an overgrown toddler. Just imagine the thought of this little stinker getting married to Rob!”
Everyone laughed.
“Are you planning to let her grow up again?” one of Grace’s cousins asked.
“Oh no, she’s perfect just the way she is,” said Jessica, and even though she was smiling pleasantly, there was a malicious glint in her eyes as she looked at Grace. “It’s a lifetime of early bedtimes, smacked bottoms, and smelly nappies for my little Gracie.”
Grace sucked her thumb noisily. A lifetime?! Was Jessica planning to keep her like this forever?! She felt herself start peeing again. The thirsty padding between her thighs soaked up her wee-wee, and her diaper began to droop.
“Rob and I had better be going,” Jessica said. “We have a lovely honeymoon to look forward to.” She turned to look down at Grace. “But don’t worry, little girl.” She grinned horribly. “Mama will be back to play with you again very soon.”

Physio’s Daughter Pt 7
Jessie Fleming x Reader
Read the other 6 parts here!
Warnings: cursing, mentions of sex, angst, verbal arguments, verbal insults
WC: 5.0k
A/N: I got nothing to say, we should be on the downhill from the angst for now
“I missed that penalty because of you, it’s your fault.”
You hear her say as you walk away. Her words freeze you mid step.
Your heart sank. You had tried your best to leave her alone, you had barely spoken to her outside of the training room or on the pitch, besides the phone call where she hung up on you. You had done everything to just be a regular staff member to her. And despite your efforts you had fucked this up.
“What?” You turn back to look at Jessie.
“When I kick a penalty, I pick my spot and then when I step back I think of something that calms me. Sometimes it’s my sister, sometimes my parents, sometimes it’s the beach, it’s whatever comes into my head first.” She stands up from the table, starting to walk toward you. “Today, your stupid beautiful face came into my mind and for a second it was good. For a second, the thought of you calmed me. But then her stupid face came into my mind too and all I could picture was the two of you together, on your stupid little dates in the city, how I should be your personal photographer, not her! And I thought about the fact that you’re sharing a room and you were sleeping in her fucking bed the other day, and it pissed me off and I got rattled and fucked up my penalty.”
You realize now, that’s why Jessie had left her eyes closed longer than usual, that’s why her penalty routine was different, it was your fault.
“You mean Olivia?” You say with a small laugh, there was no way Jessie was being serious and no way she actually believed there was something going on between you and Olivia. You were also laughing out of nerves, you had never seen Jessie angry like this, her face turning red as she stood in front of you.
“Yeah her. Unless there’s other girls you’ve been prancing around the city with?” She crosses her arms across her chest, clearly annoyed with you.
“Oh you’re serious?” You look at her and she just looks back at you, her stare cold. “Jessie, Olivia and I, we’re not together.”
“That’s not what it looked like, her following you around with her camera, all the photos of you she’s posting on Instagram, looks like more than friends to me. She had you half naked in her bed, you can’t tell me your just friends.”
You can’t believe the words coming from Jessie’s mouth. “I wasn’t half naked! Get a grip Jessie, she has a boyfriend!”
You had learned that Olivia had a boyfriend when you spent the day together a few days ago. It was something that had yet to come up in your previous conversations. They’d been together just under a year, he was her first long term relationship after she had broken up with her girlfriend
You weren’t surprised someone like her was taken, but what surprised you was that it didn’t make you sad or disappointed like you thought it would. You had the realization while out with her that, while she was attractive and your type, you didn’t find yourself interested in Olivia in a romantic way.
“Well, does her boyfriend know she’s obsessed with you?”
“Oh my god, you’re being delusional.” While maybe not the best word to use, it’s what comes out of your mouth in the heat of the moment.
Jessie’s eyes squinted, her eyebrows furrowed. “Don’t you fucking call me delusional!” Her hand comes out from her chest, she points a finger at you.
“Well that’s what you’re being Jessie! She’s in a relationship, there’s nothing between us!” You had no idea how else to explain to Jessie that there was nothing there. Olivia was a friend.
“You know what, maybe I am delusional for thinking maybe we could’ve worked!” She turns back to the table, snatching the tablet still playing her kick, storming out of the conference room.
“Jessie.” You follow her out into the hallway.
“No, we can’t keep doing this, the back and forth, it’s exhausting and childish, you need to stop.” She turns back to you, taking a step closer to you so you’re between her and the wall.
“Don’t fucking tell me that I need to stop. Jessie I’m not the only one making the decision on what’s happening here.” You take a step away from her, your back making contact with the wall behind you. “You’re the one who keeps kissing me and bringing me coffee, and texting me about non-work things. You’re just as much feeding into this, you’re just as guilty as I am!”
You were fully aware a member of the hotel staff was likely to come down the hall any minute to tell you to keep it down. It was 2:49 in the morning and you two were screaming at each other.
“I know, and that’s my fault, I should’ve realized you weren’t worth my time!”
It’s like she had punched you in the gut. Your chest started to feel tight, your eyes burning. Her words hurt. You could handle her shoving you after the game, you could handle her yelling at you, you could handle her accusing you of being interested with someone else even though you weren’t, those weren’t personal attacks. But her standing here, telling you that you weren’t worth her time, burned inside your chest.
You could see the moment Jessie realized what words came out of her mouth. A wave of guilt and shock washed over her face her fingers come up to her lips. She puts her hands out, reaching toward your shoulders.
“I didn’t mean-” she starts to backtrack, trying to take back the fact that she just called you a waste of time.
“Save it.” This time it’s you shoving Jessie out of your way, your hand against her shoulder as you push past her. “I’ll go. Sorry I was a waste of your time.” You manage to choke out before you turn, tears starting to fall from your eyes.
You run back to your room, not caring how loud your footsteps were as you rushed to your room. You hear Jessie yell after you but ignore her pleas for you to come back and let her explain. You quietly open the door and slip into your bed. You choke back your tears, burying your face into the fluffy hotel pillow to not wake up Olivia.
You’re not sure how long you cried, there’s a soft knock at your door but knowing it’s Jessie you ignore it, you didn’t want to see her and you didn’t want her seeing that you were crying over her. You fall asleep a little bit later.
You’re woken from your brief attempt at sleep by a hard knocking on your door. You look over to see Olivia is already out of bed for the morning, probably down at breakfast, maybe she forgot her key and was coming back.
You quickly check your phone, a few emails, three missed calls and a few texts, five from last night and one from this morning.
Jessie Fleming: I am so sorry
Jessie Fleming: please open the door
Jessie Fleming: I shouldn’t have said that
Jessie Fleming: You’re not a waste of my time, you’re worth all my time.
Jessie Fleming: You deserve better
The one from this morning was only from a few minutes ago.
Jessie Fleming: I’d like to talk when you have a chance. I can be available whenever. I’m really sorry.
Still half asleep you wander over to the door, expecting to see an apologetic Canadian when the second round of knocks comes more aggressively. You open it, only to be pushed out of the way by a very angry Canadian, Janine.
“I told you, if you hurt her, we were going to have problems, so now we have problems.”
It takes you a second looking at the woman in front of you, her hands on her hips as she stares back at you. She was talking about Jessie. You blink a few times at her, trying to wake up your brain and body.
“Hmm late night eh?” She says, a hard cold stare still on her face, her tone is degrading.
“What the hell Janine, I didn’t hurt her!” It was the truth, maybe you called her delusional and that was too far, but you didn’t do any worse than she did to you.
“Then why did she come back to our room, crying at three in the morning? She refuses to tell me what you did, but she mentioned your name while I was trying to comfort her, so what the hell did you do?”
Learning that Jessie had also cried over your argument made you feel somewhat better about your own tears. You’re sure Janine could see your eyes were puffy and likely bloodshot.
You throw your hands up “What I did? Janine did you think that maybe she won’t tell you what happened because it was what she was the one who did something to me?”
You watch as Janine’s face drops for a second. She looks unsure if she’s supposed to believe you or not.
“I didn’t hurt her.” You take a breath, sitting back on your bed, debating if it’s even worth explaining your side. This was Jessie’s best friend, of course she won’t believe you. Deciding to tell her anyways, you quickly begin rambling, telling Janine everything.
You start to tell Janine about what happened. You tell her about the first coffee kiss, how you mom had yelled at both of you and how you made the agreement to be professional. You then go on to tell her about the second coffee kiss, the one she almost walked in on. You mention the hand holding on the plane. You then go on to explain how Jessie seemed to think you and Olivia were a thing. You mention the movie and how you were in her bed, you explain it all.
“Oh, so that’s why the coffee shop was weird between you two. I thought maybe you two had finally hooked up or something and you were trying not to be weird about it, I tried to ask Jessie about it but she wouldn’t say anything.” She cracks a small smile.
“No, we haven't slept together, or hooked up or done anything beyond just kissing, and even the kisses, they weren’t like make outs, and oh my god why am I telling you this?” You cover your face for a second, taking a breath to ease your embarrassment.
When you look back Janine has a smug look on her face, probably to your reaction to accidentally admitting the extent of your and Jessie’s physical relationship. You try to push the thought from your mind and get back to telling her the details
“Regardless, Jessie thought I had blown her off to go with Olivia but she was the one who hung up on me. I wanted to go with her, I told her I could go in the morning before I went around with Olivia. She didn’t say yes, she hung up on me.” You finish explaining the situation with Olivia to Janine.
“Then what were you two doing at two in the morning together?” She questioned, knowing you and Jessie had seen each other the night before. You explained that you couldn’t sleep so you went down to the conference room for a break and that Jessie had been there watching her penalty.
“She accused me of being the reason she missed her penalty, telling me I got in her head with me being with Olivia I guess and it upset her and rattled her focus.” You take a breath, knowing you had to admit your own faults to Janine too. “And then I, I called her delusional, which I know was wrong.” You look away from Janine not wanting to make eye contact, knowing what you said to Jessie was terrible. “And then she called me a waste of time.”
Janine just gives a slow nod, her eyes wide as she tries to process the information that is being thrown at her. “Oooookayyy then, I wasn’t expecting that..” She finally says. The room then returns to silence.
“Look, I may be Jessie’s best friend, but she doesn’t get to blame you for missing that penalty, she can’t really blame herself even though she always does, penalties are luck, you pick a spot, you kick it, if it’s the same spot the keeper picked, oh well.”
She takes a deep breath looking at you, she clasps her hands in front of her.
“But also as her best friend, I’m going to ask you, if you can, to give her some grace. I know she maybe doesn’t deserve it, especially after what she said. But, Jessie, she’s a good person, but she sometimes tried to be too perfect. She’s a perfectionist. And she has a lot of pressure on her right now, first major tournament as the official captain, she’s got the pressure of Canada, and then she’s got the pressure from herself. She’s hard on herself, too hard and she knows it, but she can’t always help it.”
You nod, you knew being around Jessie at training, when she’d struggle with a skill, she’d stay late mastering it, practicing over and over, exhausting herself to get it right. You knew this whole tournament was likely weighing on her mentally, not to add the feeling of missing her penalty.
“I’m sure the outburst at you, was not what she fully meant. She was probably upset about the penalty and she let it boil over into her personal life. Maybe she was jealous about Olivia too, but once she learned she had a boyfriend then it shouldn’t have mattered. I think she unfortunately was bottling up one too many feelings, the bottle just broke on you.”
You nod, it makes sense.
“She’ll probably kill me if she ever finds out I’m telling you to talk to her, she won’t like me meddling. But if you can, talk to her, now that she’s calmed down a bit.” Janine let’s put a sigh. “Jessie really likes you, it’s annoying to hear about but seriously she does and I want her to be happy, which you seem to make her happy, with the exception of the crying last night. I understand if her behavior was a deal breaker though, I’d just advise you to hear her out, and have her hear you out as well. You two need to have an adult conversation, not a screaming match at three in the morning. You need to talk about all of this, make up your minds about whatever you two are doing.”
“I know.” You nod at her, it was nice having someone else talk some sense into you, you hoped she gave a similar discussion to her roommate.
“Sorry I came in here on a mission to accuse you. Jessie was just incredibly upset last night, I figured something happened, I assumed you did something, sorry about that.”
You shrug at her. “It’s alright, I get it, you're her best friend, you’re just looking out for her.” It’s true you’re not upset at Janine, it was alarming for her to come in yelling, but she had been sensible.
Janine takes steps toward the door, you stand up from the bed to follow her to the door.
“I’m her best friend, but I’m not going to excuse her behavior when she was out of line.” She opens the door and walks out, you’re assuming back to her own room where Jessie likely was getting ready to head to training in the next half hour.
You pack up your backpack, dreading going to work for the first time since you joined this team, you didn’t want to have to see Jessie, you didn’t want to have to see Janine, you didn’t want to see your mom or Olivia, you’d rather be alone.
As you headed down to the lobby your phone vibrates in your pocket. You roll your eyes reading the text.
Jessie Fleming: So you're allowed to tell Janine about our argument and all the other details but I’m not allowed to tell her I kissed you?
You: She came barging into my room this morning demanding to know what I did to hurt you because you refused to say anything so yes, I told her what happened.
You: I was defending myself.
When she doesn’t text you back you slip your phone back into your jacket and take a seat at a table in the lobby.
“Hey kiddo!” Your Mom slips into the seat across from you. “You alright?”
“Yeah good, just didn’t sleep well.” You try and give her your best smile. Your Mom squints at you. You know she knows something’s up. She knew you too well, she always had.
“Don’t lie to me.”
“I’m not, I’m good, I’m ready to work, I didn’t sleep well last night and it’s not something I want to talk about.” You didn’t sleep well, that was the truth. It wasn’t exactly lying by just not telling her what was keeping you awake.
“Issues with Miss 17?” She knew, she always knew. You just give her a glare across the table. “Alright, I’m not going to get involved despite my motherly instinct. I’m here if you want to talk, don’t let it affect work because you’re bottling it up.”
You think about the irony of you Mom telling you not to bottle up your feelings, the same thing that Janine had said Jessie typically did.
“I won’t, I’m good.” You say, rather harshly, before you turn in your chair to face away from your Mom.
When the players begin to file down from their rooms and out to the buses you stand up from the table, grabbing your bag. You follow your Mom, Olivia, and the rest of the staff toward the staff bus.
“I need to talk to you.” You feel a gentle hand on your arm. You recognize the voice, it's softer than it was last night when it was yelling at you. Jessie had strayed from the line of players getting on their own bus and was now standing next to you.
“No you don’t, you said what you needed to say yesterday.” You quickly say to her, not wanting to draw additional attention to the two of you.
“Please.” You hated how easily you were about to give into her. All it took was for her to look at you, wide eyed in hope that you’ll hear her out. You look at your watch, she had to be on the bus in three minutes. She notices you checking the time. “I’ll be quick.” She glances at the bus door where the rest of her teammates were waiting to board, likely watching and eavesdropping as she talked to you.
When you don’t say anything she takes it as permission to speak.
“I was terrible, you are not a waste of my time, you are not a waste of anyone’s time. That was a terrible, horrific thing to say to you or to say to anyone, no one is a waste of time.” She reached out to put a hand to your arm, you pull your arm away, giving her the hint you don’t want to touch her.
“I don’t want to be making excuses for myself, I said what I said, I regret it. There is no excuse for what I did and I understand I can’t take that back, I can’t unsay those words to you. But I’m sure you can understand I’m under a lot of pressure here, then with the missed penalty, I snapped. I’m usually good under pressure, yesterday I wasn’t and I panicked. I-” she checks over her shoulder to the bus and let’s out a huff as she sees the last of her teammates board the bus.
“You’re going to be late.” You say, not acknowledging any of the apology she just gave you.
“That’s fine, they can wait a second, I’ll be late. I need to finish.” She waves off the bus, looking back to you. This time when you make eye contact you notice her puffy eyes, a little bloodshot. As her physio you’re concerned for her lack of sleep. You can’t help but wonder if she’s noticed the same look in your own eyes.
“No, go.” You point at the bus door. You had already caused enough issues making her miss the penalty, you weren’t going to be the reason she was late.
“Can we please talk later? I didn’t get to say everything, I have a lot more to say to you.”
You nod at her. You didn’t feel like hearing her out, but you thought back to your conversation with Janine. You had already let her start apologizing, might as well let her finish. Then you two could finally have an adult conversation.
“Meet me after training, we can finish this.” You tell her, she whispers a quick thank you and turns jogging to the bed.
You attend training like normal, trying to pay attention to everyone equally but naturally your eyes constantly found their way to Jessie. You were pissed at her but you couldn’t deny she was so attractive when playing.
The way she was incredibly physical compared to her usually timid demeanor, the way she’d yell to her teammates asking for the ball, the way she’d pull down her shorts. The way she’d wipe the sweat from her face with the bottom of her shirt, lifting it enough to show her toned stomach made your own stomach clench.
Toward the end of training Jessie lifted her shirt again, wiping her forehead, when she pulled her shirt down, she was looking in your direction, making eye contact with you. She bit her lip with a slight smirk seeing you were watching her.
You couldn’t help but give her a small smile back. For a split second you forgot all the terrible things she said, you forgot you were mad, it was just you and her smiling at each other from across the pitch.
But then she turned back to continue her drill and you remembered your argument and her hurtful words and now you were mad at her and yourself. You shouldn’t have looked at her, you shouldn’t have smiled at her.
After training you help the girls with treatment and recovery. You make the ice bath, you hand out heating pads. You help take off the stability taping that you put on just a few hours ago. It was an easy end to your day. Jessie gets herself into the ice bath for 10 minutes before she hops out and moves to the corner of the room waiting.
“What are you waiting on Jessie? I can help you.” You hear your Mom ask, she was one of the last few players in the training room, but she wasn’t actively being treated. Just standing in the corner of the room, bike shorts still soaking wet from her ice bath, making a small puddle at her feet..
You look up from where you were cleaning water bottles to watch as Jessie points at you. Her hand close to her chest to not make the pointing obvious. Your Mom’s head turns to look at you, and then back to Jessie. She just shakes her head at the two of you and mutters something under her breath that you’re not able to understand.
You occupy yourself restocking the first aid kits, cleaning out the ice bath, all the small tasks, you offer to take over all the other physio’s end of shift jobs to get them to leave the facility sooner. Soon it’s just you, Jessie, and your Mom left in the room.
“I’m going to go, let you two have whatever discussion you need to. Do you have a plan to get back to the hotel? Both of you?” You Mom asks before she leaves the room checking that you both weren’t coming on the bus.
“Yeah, I’m good.” You let her know.
When Jessie doesn’t answer, your Mom asks again. “Fleming?”
“I’m good, thank you for checking.” She thanks your Mom with a smile and a wave.
Knowing you both were good, your Mom walks out the door, leaving just you and Jessie in the training room. You push yourself up onto the counter, sitting with your legs dangling. Jessie walks over from the corner she was standing in. She places a towel down before she hops up onto the treatment table across from you. You both sit for a moment, looking at each other.
Jessie breaks the silence first. “It wasn’t fair for me to blame the penalty on you.”
“I know.” You decide this is the time to get out your frustrations with the brown haired, brown eyed, beautiful freckled girl in front of you. You couldn’t help but admire her despite being about to yell at her.
“It wasn’t fair for you to blame me for your kick, it wasn’t fair for you to shove me, it wasn’t fair to your team for you to leave the game without anyone knowing, it wasn’t fair for you to just assume I immediately went to fuck Olivia just because we’re sharing a room, sorry I wanted to have a friend! We were watching a movie, that’s why I was in her bed. She put on a movie and I fell asleep because I don’t speak French! It wasn’t fair to assume just because I was trying to be professional that I no longer was interested in you and moved on to the first girl I could find. None of that was fair to me Jessie!” As you yell your voice gets louder.
“I know.” She looks ashamed, Jessie is looking at the floor, refusing to make eye contact with you anymore.
“It’s not my fucking fault you thought about me during your kick, I had no control over that!” You take a second to notice the tone of your voice and decide the two of you have had one too many screaming matches recently. You lower your voice, letting your sadness from the night before overtake your anger with her. “It feels really shitty to be blamed for something you had no control over Jess.”
“I know.” Jessie repeats herself. Her voice is quiet, her bottom lip pulled between her teeth, her eyes looking glossy as if she’s about to cry. “I know none of that was fair.”
“Then why did you do it?” You start to feel your own eyes water.
“Because you were there.” Her hands clap down onto her knees. “That’s it, and I know that that’s not fair to you either but I had already spent the previous five hours blaming myself, ripping myself apart for missing that kick, so when you walked in, I was able to put the blame on you and I felt like I could breathe again. I think I would’ve ripped off anyone’s head who walked in.”
“You’re saying had Janine walked in instead you would’ve screamed at her? I find that hard to believe.” You hop off the counter, walking around the room. You pick up a lacrosse ball the girls use to roll out with, tossing it between your hands.
“I don’t know, maybe. It also didn’t help that I was already having feelings thinking you were with Olivia now, I got jealous.” She turns around on the treatment table to keep watch on you. “So I think my anger with you was a little different than it would’ve been with someone else. But I probably still would’ve ended up yelling at Janine or anyone, just it would’ve been a little different words. I’m just, I’m really sorry.”
You’re not sure how to react to her apology, so instead you start your own. You’re occupying your body, bouncing the ball on the ground while you speak with her.
“I’m sorry too, I shouldn’t have called you delusional, I shouldn’t have ever started anything with you, it’s inappropriate and unprofessional, I’m supposed to be someone you can come to for help. I’m sorry I aided in our little back and forth from flirting to coworkers to friends, I didn’t do anything to stop it and I should have.”
“We both failed at being professional, it’s not just you.”
“Yep.” You quietly say to her. It’s quiet again between the two of you. An uncomfortable silence falling over the room with the rhythmic bouncing of the ball against the ground.
You bounce the ball all the way across the room and back before you look at Jessie. “Okay so what now?”
“Nothing.” She just looks at you. Her expression blank.
“Nothing?” You stop bouncing the ball, turning to look at her.
She hops off the table and comes to stand in front of you. “I only wanted to apologize. I messed up in an awful way, I was awful to you. I’m not here to beg for you to be my friend, let alone ask for you to be anything more, I just needed to apologize. I don’t expect you to have any interest in anything happening between us anymore.”
“Oh.”
“What?”
You look at Jessie, taking in her appearance, her cheeks still rosy from playing. Her eyes are no longer puffy like they were this morning, she’s chewing on her bottom lip, her hands are fidgeting. She’s nervous.
You then realize you're nervous. You hadn’t previously been aware of how hard your heart was beating, how you could feel it through your chest. The room was warm, your skin crawling. You didn’t know what her reaction was going to be to your next question.
“What if I did still have interest in us?”

━☞🍽️First Course: It's always this, it's always that. The never ending demands you have failed to meet. How much more can you take of this bitter situation? 🥢
🎧: Olivia Rodrigo - Enough For You
wc: 1.4k
genre & warnings: angst angst angst (no happy ending here with hj), reader learns how love must work in a relationship, lovers to exes, marriage, other idols appearance, cursing, insecurity, just pure angst :D
a/n: this is a part of The Sour Restaurant series. if y'all want, you can read the other album inspired fics of other groups here.
You watch Seonghwa and Mina sway to the romantic music for their first dance as a newly wed couple, and your heart flutters with joy seeing them so happy.
No, jealousy was never an option for this one because you've seen their journey together. How their relationship blossomed and now, they are entering a new phase of their lives together. It was truly magnificent.
"Hey. Mind if I join you?" a voice brought you out of your reminiscing, turning your head to look at the source and you were dumbfounded to the core.
The man that you have been avoiding for the rest of the day is standing in front of you in his full glory, an awkward yet hopeful smile on his face as he awaits your answer.
"Yeah, Hongjoong. Go Ahead." you replied, returning the smile before sipping the now warm champagne in the goblet that you have been ignoring for the past few minutes in lieu of admiring the pair in the middle of the reception area.
A moment of silence, and he dared to break it.
"It's been a while since I last saw you. How's life?" he inquired, making small talk and you fight off the urge to leave him there alone, but no can do, you're not gonna be childish in the presence of your ex-boyfriend.
"It was good," then you paused, blinking and correcting yourself, "no actually, I have been living the best life."
He was taken aback at your slightly ironic tone, not used to the way you're speaking, like you're a completely different person after your separation, and only a month has passed since.
"Well, as for me.."
He trails and you roll your eyes, you did not ask how he's doing and certainly not interested. But you maintain your poise, not wanting him to see that he's having a negative effect on you.
"I've been miserable... without you, at least."
You whipped your head to look at him incredulously, an aghast scoff coming out of you unconsciously at his audacity to tell you that.
Wasn't he the one who decided to end your relationship? He was the one who destroyed a 5-year long bond, so what the fuck is he on about?
"Are you serious?" he looked offended when you asked him that, like he was pulling a stunt or something but who could blame you?
"Why would I even joke about that?" he mutters back, frowning when your confused expression turns into an appalled one.
He really isn't serious, right?
After all the shit that you have to go through because he's always wanting, needing, and looking for more in you.
You've never really seen the importance of going outside all glammed up, your friends and family have always complimented your bare face. A natural beauty, as they liked to call you. Then you saw the girls that he dated back when he was younger, and it made you insecure.
So you learned how to do hair and make-up. Buying expensive ass hair curlers, eyeshadows, foundations, lipstick, brushes and all that shit just for him to say to not notice what you have been doing.
You observed him to no end, taking notes of his likes and dislikes. His favorite dishes and drinks, colors and style of clothing, heck, you even memorized the song that he's been humming to for days.
The books beside his bed and on his shelves weren't left untouched by you. Every page was read dutifully so you could relate to him whenever he tells you a story about a recent book that he had bought.
But it seems that your efforts were all in vain, as there is always something that is lacking in you.
"The colors of your outfit are not matching."
"Oh, I'm actually trying a new kind of coffee today."
"No, wrong author, I can't believe you'll make a mistake about this."
It may be the emotional attachment or the undying commitment that you hold dear for him are the reasons why you continued to change yourself for him. In your eyes, he is absolutely perfect, and you're determined to fit in his aesthetic.
You were determined to make him accept you.
But as they all say, the more you burn, the more you turn yourself into ashes that will inevitably crumble.
And the snapping point was nigh when you're tired and he couldn't even bat an eye on your well-being.
"Is that what you're wearing tonight?" Hongjoong eyes your appearance, black dress and clean hair and make-up, and if you ask anyone, they'll say that it's simple yet elegant.
Truth to be told, you don't have the energy to go all out for the event that you're attending. Still, you did your best to look presentable, and you did a great job, you think.
It was a hellish week for you. Finals are coming up and you're dying from all the studying, you're also struggling in your part-time job because of the lack of sleep. The worst one was the nagging of your parents, constantly asking you about your plans for the future.
Everything was taking a toll on you and the last thing that you wanna hear came from the very same person that should have been a source of comfort.
Hongjoong sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose, "Just.. stay put in one place. I can't have you embarrassing me further than this."
There you go, you lost it.
"Embarrass you?" a deriding tone rode along with your words, "What the fuck does that mean?"
"Y/N, do you see yourself? I told you to do your best, and this isn't what I envisioned." he mumbles, expression souring when you exuded such an attitude in his words.
"Ah." it was flat, the way you said it, as you were suddenly hit with the realization that even when you restart and destroy yourself, it will never be fucking enough for him.
Gosh, he could've at least acted better. Feigned care and faked affection, but he can't even give you that.
And you're so fucking done with his bullshit.
"I will not come with you anymore. Go alone." you muttered, turning in your heels and heading to the bedroom.
"What? Y/N, stop being a child."
"No, Hongjoong. I need you to stop being a know-it-all, go fuck yourself."
That was the first time you stood up for yourself, and damn did it feel good. Like you're finally free from his restraints, and it's addicting.
He rolls his eyes at you, muttering a 'Suit yourself.' and exiting the house, not even an ounce of concern at your sudden outburst, and that was all you needed to make a cathartic decision.
That was the day you left without a trace, and you can finally breathe without him cursing you into the darkness of being inadequate.
He blew your phone up, messaging and calling you, and you were disappointed when it ceased just after a day. It says a lot about him though, on how much of an asshole he is.
Especially after a mere three days and he's already posting a new bimbo in his social media accounts.
At the present time, you're tempted to spill the alcohol in his face and probably ruin his expensive suit.
How could you even believe him that he's serious, that he's not kidding when he made you feel like a clown.
You chuckle, staring straight ahead, "Did your new girl dump you or something?"
"No. I just realized that it's different, you know? If it's not with you then it doesn't feel right." he admits, looking down at his shoes because frankly, he is ashamed of gazing into your eyes.
You couldn't help but ridicule him, standing up from your seat and straightening your dress, shooting him a dangerous glare, "I told you this before, and I'd repeat it a thousand times."
You smile wickedly, flipping him off, "Go fuck yourself."
You walk away, not paying attention to his desperate calls, the polite facade is gone in the wind and the only thing that you could think of is that you're not gonna allow him to break your heart and soul anymore.
You have only started to regain your true self, not the image that he wanted you to have, and you'll be damned if you'll let him get inside your head again.
Kim Hongjoong was a lesson, one that you'll never forget and never forgive. Maybe you loved him too much, but at least you now know that if someone truly loves you, that person will accept you for who and what you are.

Series Masterlist
“A dance m’lady?”
“Of couwse.” Lottie takes Henry’s hands and they start to twirl around. She’s giggling as they dance around.
The ballroom you were looking at for a potential venue was huge. A bit too big for the small wedding you wanted to have but it was beautiful.
“Thoughts?” The wedding planner you’d hired, Olivia, asked.
“It’s beautiful.”
“But?”
“It’s maybe too big?” Bucky says as he looks around before looking at you.
“Yes, this looks like we could fit 3 or 400 people. Our wedding is going to be so much smaller. And we’d like to have the ceremony outside.”
“The ceremony space is why I picked this one out. Let me show you what I had in mind.” Olivia waves for you to follow her through long hallways. It’s almost a maze to get from the ballroom to the other side of the venue.
“What do you think?” Olivia says as she opens the door.
It’s a huge greenhouse and while the flowers and foliage are beautiful, it’s not what you wanted.
“Mama.” Lottie tugs at your shirt.
Yes, sweet Angel?”
“Not this one. I no see it.”
That reassured you that this in fact was not the place where you would marry Bucky. You hadn’t really liked it to begin with but it was spacious.
“I agree. Buck?”
“We’d like something different.”
“Ok.” Olivia says. “I have three more venues we can look at today. What do you say?”
“Of course.”
****
You drive all around looking at some possible venues but none of them seem to fit what you want for the wedding. This is the last one and if it doesn’t work you’ll have to go into the city which you don’t want to do. Henry and Lottie are also getting a bit restless.
“We’ll look at one more place and then we can do something fun.” You say as you unbuckle Charlotte and help her out of the car.
She gasps as you set her down. “Oh mama, is so pwetty.” She says as she takes in the mansion in front of you.
“It is so pretty.”
“This place looks great.” Bucky stands beside you, his hand coming to rest on your lower back. “It’s really nice.” He smiles.
Suddenly you’re starting to feel really hopeful that this place could be it. Olivia steps out of her car and calls you to follow her.
“You know, most couples don’t bring their kids to these kinds of things. Are you wanting to make them part of the whole process?” She asks as you head up the front steps.
“Yes, we would love for them to be involved anyway they can be.”
“I’m sure we can find some other things they can be a part of, maybe cake tasting?” Olivia turns to watch Henry and Lottie nod eagerly.
The five of you walk around the large home as Olivia points out areas that she would use and how.
“Now, I know you want an outdoor ceremony but in case of bad weather we could use this space. What do you think?”
She says as she leads you to a large living room. It’s free of furniture so Olivia explains the seating arrangement, where the aisle would go.
“It’s a nice space if we had to do the ceremony inside.” Bucky murmured as he looked around.
The room, while simple in color, was a great canvas to decorate however you wanted. A huge chandelier was the main feature of the room. Bucky takes your hand and pulls you to the front of the room.
“This is where we would be standing as we say our vows. What do you think?” He asks with a loving smile.
“I really really like it.”
“Well this is only the backup space. I’d like to show you the outdoor option.” Olivia chimes in. “It’s being updated but it will be ready way before your wedding date. Follow me.”
“Mama.” Lottie gasps, wide eyed as she stops in the hallway.
“What is it, sweet Angel?”
“I see it mama, is this one.” She says bouncing on the ball of her feet.
You beam at her and then Bucky who’s also sporting an excited smile. He takes your hand and the four of you walk out to the most beautiful garden you’d ever seen.
Your breath hitches as you step out to the garden. While some maintenance was being done, the garden was in full bloom with a variety of white flowers. The hedges were trimmed to perfection. It looked heavenly.
“I absolutely love this space.” Olivia says excitedly. “They only keep white flowers so we can bring in flowers in the color scheme you gave me to fill in the area. We could have an arch at the end with flowers and fabric draped down. The chairs would obviously go here.” Olivia explains with a smile. “Some rooms are also included in the contract so you could get ready here.”
“That would be great.” You turn to Bucky. “It would be less hassle getting the kids ready here too.”
“So far this seems like the best option.”
“Good because I want to show you where you’ll have the reception.”
“Daddy, what's a reception?” Henry asks as you follow Olivia.
“It’s like a dinner and a party to celebrate that your mama and I got married.”
“Oh, can I go to the reception with baby?”
“Of course bubs. You’re going to have a really important job at the wedding.”
“Really?” Henry looks up, eyes wide with excitement.
“Yup. You’re going to be the ring bearer. That means you will hold the ring mama puts on my finger and the one I put on hers.”
“What about baby? Is she a ring bearer too?”
“I take wings?” Lottie asks.
“No sweet Angel, you’re going to be the flower girl.”
“Sounds so pwetty. Can be flowe-uh girl.”
Olivia shows you the huge ballroom. Like the rest of the venue, it’s perfect.
“Now we have to test it out. Are you ready?” Bucky asks as he walks you back to the French doors that lead to the garden.
“What are you doing?”
“Just picture it. I’m in my tux, the room is decorated beautifully. You’re standing there as beautiful as ever, especially in your dress. Ladies and gentleman,” Bucky announces. “I’d like to present for the first time Mr. and Mrs. Barnes.”
Olivia has the kids clapping and cheering so that you can get the full effect. Then Bucky leads you back toward the center of the room and pulls you into his chest. Butterflies took flight in your belly listening to Bucky calling you Mrs. Barnes.
“Now this would be our first dance.” He murmurs before he starts humming a slow tune.
You’re looking at each other lovingly as you sway from side to side. Two sets of arms wrap around you and Bucky. When you look down Lottie and Henry are swaying with you. It couldn’t be more perfect.
You both agree that this is the place you want. Olivia smiles again and heads out to make a few calls to get a contract for you to sign.
“I can’t wait to marry you.” You look up at Bucky.
“Neither can I.”
In between planning the wedding there was regular family life and work. The shifts at the medbay and Bucky going on missions weren’t slowing down just yet. Lottie's birthday was coming up. This time she requested a tea party which you and Bucky happily agreed too.
The truth was Charlotte was growing up so fast. Just a year before she was learning how to walk and talk. Now she’s more popular throughout the compound than even the Avengers. And just as a growing child does she changes all the time. From mannerisms to vocabulary, some of the latter really showing how much she’s grown.
“I’m weady.” Lottie calls out from the top of the stairs. She’d chosen a pretty pink dress for her tea party. “Wook at my dwess daddy.”
You and Bucky had been talking about the wedding when Lottie had called out and both your heads snapped in her direction.
“What did you say, doll?” Bucky was in disbelief.
“I said am weady.”
“After that.”
“Oh I says wook at my dwess daddy.” She says as she stops in front of the two of you and does a little twirl.
When you look at Bucky you see tears in his eyes.
“You can’t call me that.” He whispers.
“But you is my daddy.”
“I’m your dada. You always call me dada.” Bucky says.
“But am a big girl an big girls says daddy. An bubba says daddy too.” She defends herself.
“I know doll.” Bucky picks her up and presses a few kisses to her temple and cheek. “But you’re my baby, you can’t be a big girl.”
“Daddy, I wanna be a big girl.”
You chuckle as Lottie wrapped her arms loosely around Bucky’s neck. She gives him a beaming smile and Bucky’s too weak to say no.
“Alright, I guess you can be a big girl and call me daddy.” He relents. “You look beautiful in your dress, doll.”
“Tank you daddy.”
Bucky puts Lottie down so that she can find Henry and show him the dress she has on. You hug Bucky as soon as you can.
“I hate that so much. She’s growing up way too fast.” He says with a pout.
“Next thing you know, she’s gonna come home from school talking about a boyfriend.”
“That’s not funny.”
You laugh at his scowl. “Let’s go celebrate our not so little girl’s birthday.”
“This turned out great.” Molly compliments as she sits next to you on the couch.
“Thanks. Charlotte is very into tea parties now. It just made sense to make her birthday this.”
“Well you’re turning into a whole party planner, between this and the wedding. How is that going?”
“It’s going well. We found the venue not long ago. Oh, now that we’re talking about it. How would you feel about being a bridesmaid?”
“I would love to.” Molly gives you a half smile, half grimace.
“But?”
“We haven’t told anyone yet but it’s only fair you know. I’m pregnant.” She says in a whisper.
“Molly, oh my god.” You exclaim.
“Sshhh. You can’t tell anyone.”
“I can’t believe this. I’m so excited. But why can’t you be a bridesmaid?”
“My doctor wants me to be as stress free as possible.” She frowns a bit. “I would have loved to be up there with you.”
“And weddings can be very stressful. Don’t worry about it. As long as you’re there and taking care of yourself.” You lean in and give her a quick hug. “Is there anything you need?”
“No, I'm good right now.”
“Ok, I’m going to check in on the kids.” You smile.
“You’re going to tell Luke that you know?”
“Maybe.” You giggle.
“Go, it was his idea for us to tell you first.”
You’re beaming as you get up and check in on how the others are doing. Eddie is playing a card game with Sam and Henry. Sophie and Josh are hanging out with Nat and Clint. You walked by and saw Charlotte with Olivia and Steve, talking to Duckie.
“She started calling me daddy today instead of dada and I don’t think I’ll ever get over that.” You hear Bucky say.
“Wait until she starts calling you by your first name. That was a fun stage with Liv.”
“No way. I couldn’t handle that.”
Luke chuckles. “Just imagine, ‘Luke, can I have a popsicle?’ Or ‘Luke read me a bedtime story.’”
Bucky chuckles and shakes his head.
“Hey you two.” You walk up beside Bucky, letting him pull you into his side. “So…”
“So?” Luke is looking at you amusedly.
You couldn’t help the excited smile on your face. Luke chuckles.
“She told you.”
“Who told what?” Bucky looks between both of you.
“Molly’s pregnant.”
“I’m so excited for you guys. Congratulations.” You pull your big brother in for a hug.
“Thank you. We’re really excited too. Liv is over the moon knowing she’s going to be a big sister.”
“Congrats man.” Bucky shakes Luke’s hand.
“Hopefully you’ll be giving us the same news soon.”
“Maybe after the wedding.” You say.
****
The party continues for a while. You and Bucky both go around and make sure everyone is doing ok and have whatever they need before cutting the cake.
Everyone gathers around the beautiful birthday cake Henry made for his sister. The room erupts in a loud rendition of happy birthday before Lottie blows out her candles. There’s clapping and cheering and Charlotte giggling at the attention.
“Have another bite.” Bucky holds up the spoon for Charlotte.
“Mmm, so yummy.” She murmurs before she walks away to where Olivia is playing. She goes back and forth until the cake is all gone.
After gifts and some more games the party dies down. It happens just in time since Charlotte was losing her fight to sleep. You take her from Duckie, who Charlotte was sitting with, and start heading back to the house. Olivia comes with you since you had promised the girls a sleepover.
Bucky had just slipped under the sheets of your shared bed and gotten comfortable. He was flipping through the pages of the book he was currently reading while you were thinking over the bridal party.
“Did you ask any of the guys to be your groomsmen yet?” You turned to look at him.
“Not yet. I was going to do it tomorrow, why?”
“Well Molly isn’t going to be a bridesmaid so now I have three bridesmaids to your four groomsmen.” You sigh. “I don’t know what to do.”
“What if I just ask three of the guys instead of the four I had planned?”
“Maybe.”
Bucky shakes his head. “We aren’t having this conversation again.”
“Please let me have Steve on my side.”
“He’s my best friend.” Bucky replied. “I’ve known him the longest. He’s literally my best man.”
“But I’m his favorite best friend. It only makes sense if you think about it.”
Bucky laughs. “It’s not happening. The only way it will work is if we cut him down the middle and share.”
You huff a laugh before you get an idea. Bucky can see it with the way your eyes light up.
“What are you thinking?”
You had invited Steve over for coffee. The day was beautiful so you were out in the backyard watching the kids play. You and Bucky were working on the seating chart when Steve showed up.
“So how’s the wedding planning going?” He asked as he took a seat.
“It’s good. We have a lot figured out already.”
“Especially the wedding party.” You say with a smile. “But we need your opinion.”
“Sure, whatever I can help with.”
“I decided to pick Nat as my maid of honor with Wanda and Sophia as my two other bridesmaids. It was hard though, I wanted to pick both Nat and Wanda as maids of honor.”
“I knew it.” Steve chuckles. “I knew you’d have a hard time choosing between them.”
“Well I picked Clint and Josh as groomsmen but the best man was between you and Sam.”
“Oh.” Steve’s smile falters a little.
You feel kind of bad for doing this to Steve but in the end it will be better.
“After talking about it with Y/N I’m going to ask Sam to be my best man.”
“Yeah we kept arguing over who’s side you would stand on.” You start to explain.
“No, I get it.” Steve looks a bit dejected.
“So we thought that you could stand between us instead.”
“What?” Steve’s face scrunched up in confusion.
“You’re one of the big reasons we’re together.” You start to explain.
“Since the moment you realized I was still alive you did everything possible to save me. And because of that I met the love of my life.” Bucky looks at you with a loving gaze.
“You’re our best friend and biggest supporter. We wouldn’t be here without you.” You add. “So we thought that instead of you being the best man, you could officiate the wedding instead. What do you think?”
“You want me to marry you?”
“Yes. I think you’re the perfect choice. You know both of us so well and you’ve always been there to support us. We want you to have a special role on our wedding day.” Bucky says with a smile.
“How would I even do that?” Steve asks.
“I already looked it up and you can become an officiant online. So what do you say? Please say yes. It would mean so much to us.”
“I would love to.”
You jump out of your seat in order to hug Steve. There’s a delighted giggle that bubbles up as the two of you embrace.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you. The wedding is going to be so perfect.”
“I’m just happy to be part of it and help you guys celebrate. After everything you’ve been through, this past year alone.”
“I don’t think we could get married without you, punk.” Bucky is the next to hug Steve. “Seriously, this means a lot to us. Once Y/N said it, it made so much sense. Having you just as my best man wasn’t enough. You’re an important part of both our lives and having you officiate the wedding feels right.”
“Ok you’ve got to stop.” Steve blushes.
“Just accept the compliments, Rogers. Now c’mon I’m gonna help you register and then we can go over a few things for the ceremony.”
You sat back down at the table with Steve by your side. The three of you went over ideas and how the ceremony should go. The more you got done for the wedding the more excited you got. There were still a few things left to do of course but you were so happy at that moment. When you looked over at Bucky you could tell he shared your feelings.
You were getting ready to marry your best friend and the love of your life. Nothing could be better than that.

Courtroom Obsession pt.1
y/n is an ADA assigned to Special Victims Unit. She’s been dating Olivia Benson for the past couple of months and despite their crazy workload things have been going great between them. This is until y/n’s office is flooded with mystery flower deliveries that don’t seem to stop.
Pairing: Olivia Benson x Fem!Reader
Warnings: y/n has a stalker, it's mild in this one tho, lil makeout sesh.
Genre: Mostly Fluff, will lead to angst.
Word Count: 1400+
A/N: Would you look at that, I finally wrote something! This is a part 1 of what will probably be a 2/3 part mini series. Covers a square of my bingo.
It started with flowers. You didn’t think much of it, after all being an attorney meant that sometimes you would receive gifts from grateful families for getting a conviction. But the flowers kept coming throughout the week, all kinds of bouquets bound together with ribbons, sometimes even placed in white twined baskets, with no notes attached. You looked at the colourful petals displayed in your office, the white lilies perfectly complimenting the vibrant colours of tulips and irises. The types of flowers varied in each of the bouquets, but it was never roses. You hated roses.
After a few days you started thinking it was your girlfriends doing, who else would have known this small rose-hating side of you.
When you finished work on a Friday evening, you headed straight to Olivia’s apartment, hopeful to finally get a free weekend after closing multiple cases during the previous week. Considering the field both of you were working in and the recent increase in cases you’ve barely seen each other outside of the precinct for the past couple of weeks. You’ve only been dating for a few months, although things were official between the two of you, you opted to keep the relationship private from work. You aimed for your professional relationship to remain unchanged and as far as you were aware it was working. After all the last thing either of you have wanted was to become the centre of attention of the 16th precinct and 1 Hogan Place.
The uber ride, although long, was very peaceful. You looked out the window at the streets of New York City that were beginning to fill with the darkness of dusk, taking in the sight of people rushing down the streets, probably hurrying to their homes before the city was consumed by darkness. After what felt like eternity you finally arrived at your destination, thanking the driver and handing him the cash, with a few extra notes as a thank you for not bothering you too much during the ride.
You used the key Olivia gave you just a few weeks earlier to open the apartment door, just as you entered the space you smelled the array of scents of what you presumed to be Olivia’s cooking, wafting through the air, filling the space with warmth. You smiled to yourself while taking your shoes off, before following the aromas deeper into the apartment.
Olivia was standing in the kitchen, fully consumed by preparing on of your shared comfort meals and as it turned out, one of her specialties. You always begged her to teach you how to make the signature mac and cheese, but she always joked that if she let you in on the secret you wouldn’t need her anymore, hence keeping the recipe hidden away from you.
You took in the sight of her, she was wearing a checked apron on top of her comfy clothes, her hair was in a half-up-half-down style, with a little bun on top back of her head. The domesticity of it almost melting your heart.
“You’re staring, again.” she said softly as she turned around to face you, with a warm smile on her face.
“I can’t help it; you just look really cute.” you laughed, as you kept shamelessly staring at your girlfriend.
“Here, try this.” the detective reached out to you with a forkful of the broccoli she roasted to go with the dish, always adamant to up your vegetable intake.
You gratefully accepted the food, opening your mouth and letting Olivia feed you. You practically moaned at the tease of the perfectly roasted broccoli, making her smile. “This is so good.” you added when you finished chewing the food.
“I’m glad you like it my love” she whispered, placing a kiss on your forehead before getting back to cooking.
You watched Olivia gracefully move around the kitchen for a little longer, before wrapping your arms around her waist and resting your head on the back of her shoulder. She hummed and gently leaned into your embrace, happy to finally get to spend some time with you and you had no plans on letting her go now.
The two of you stayed like this for a while, Olivia effortlessly finishing grating the additional cheese and you only restricting her movements a little bit.
“You can stop hugging me now, you know?” she laughed while you only tightened the grip you had around her.
“No, I don’t think I can” you giggled and placed a kiss in the crook of her neck. “I missed you so much.”
“I missed you too sweet girl.” She turned around in your arms to face you, cupping your cheek she placed a soft kiss on your lips. One of your hands moved from her waist to the back of her head deepening the kiss. Her lips moved against yours in perfect harmony, you pulled her closer to you, desperate for the contact as she traced your bottom lip with her tongue, making you smile into the kiss. She reluctantly pulled away “If you keep this up the dinner is gonna get burned”
You giggled and placed one last peck on her lips. “You know I wouldn’t mind, I’m sure it would still be better than that disaster of a carbonara I made before”
“It wasn’t that bad” she laughed before getting back to the task she was occupied with before you successfully distracted her.
“Oh really? How about I make it again this weekend then?” you asked raising your brow at the detective. The carbonara was indeed that bad and both of you were fully aware of it.
“Okay maybe I’ll stay on the food duty for now, but you can watch!” you laughed at her statement, happy with the offer as you didn’t want to risk poisoning your girlfriend with your cooking.
You moved around the kitchen in silence, while Olivia continued working on finishing the meal, when everything was either fully out of the oven or with only a few more minutes left to go you finally broke the silence in the room.
“Thank you for the flowers by the way.” you whispered looking at her, a warm smile spread across your face. “they’re beautiful.”
“What flowers?” she questioned, not having a clue what you were referring to.
“The ones that were coming into my office the whole week?” you raised your brow, now also confused. “I assumed they were from you since there was no notes and none of the bouquets had roses in them.”
“No, they weren’t from me but now I wish they were.” she looked at you, a slight glimpse of worry in her eyes. “Is there someone I should be concerned about?”
“If by that you mean whether there is some rookie detective or ADA waving their eyelashes at me then absolutely not” you assured her, brushing her through her hair with the tips of your fingers. “I’m sure they were from the families from previous cases, you know they like to show their appreciation for getting the perps convicted.”
“Yeah, you’re probably right.” she said letting out a deep sigh.
“Hey, no need to get worried.” you gently cupped her cheek as you looked into her eyes. “I’m a big girl I can take care of myself.”
“I know you are.” she ducked her head down a little “But you are also my girl, so I am going to get worried regardless.” Her hand softly rubbed your back as she burried her face in the crook of your neck.
The rest of the evening as well as the following days passed and before you knew it you were getting ready to return to the office on a Monday morning. You and Olivia slept in that day so both of you hurried to get ready and rushed out of the apartment, taking your respective rides to your workplaces.
When you entered your office, a white basket filled with tulips, lilies and dahlias as well as small strands of forget me nots was nestled in the middle of your desk. You examined your surroundings before examining the basket itself. It looked like every other one you received the previous week, although this time it came with a small envelope attached to it. You opened it, finding a rather simple card inside, with a handwritten note.
“Can’t wait to see you again, V.”

Bad idea right? ~ Terushima x Male Reader
Nsfw implied / MDNI ~ amab m!reader / FDNI word count: 730 Bit short but whatever I hope u guys enjoy!
You haven't heard from Terushima in a month
After your breakup you vowed to never speak to him again, your friends made you
And they're right - that dickhead cheated on you and tried to blame you for his infidelity
"You barely let me hit it" was verbatim what he said
But... you're out right now and drunk off your head...
And when you're at your least sensible, Terushima decides to slide back into your dms
With a short "Hey wanna talk about last time? XX XXX STREET" sending you his new address
'Seeing him tonight... It's a bad idea right?' You think as you take yet another shot of tequila
The sound of your friends starts to fade, and your thoughts swirl into an illegible mess
Fuck it it's fine.
He might be you're ex, and yes he did fully cheat on you in a bed you shared with him for months but can't two people reconnect?
As you're waiting outside for your uber to arrive you send the blonde a quick text
'I'll be there in 10, don't expect anything tho'
As you get into the car, wrecking the vow you'd taken, you text your friends telling them you're going to bed
Not mentioning in whose sheets.
You're brain is still going 'ahhhh' your thoughts falling on deaf ears
Getting out of the car you notice the blonde hair you were so familiar with a month ago
Terushima is standing in the doorway, smiling softly as you walk up to the door
Fuck why did he have to look so hot???
You're sure you probably saw much hotter men at the club you were just at but you can't seem to remember them
"Hey" Terushima says, his smile turning into a smirk
"Hey.." you mummer, looking up into your exes eyes
God this was a bad. BAD idea
The next thing you know, you're pinned against Terushima's bedroom wall, his tongue dominating yours, the feeling of his piercing bringing back many pleasant memories
Your brain is empty except for thoughts of Terushima
Your phone starts going off, your friends are checking up on you...
Terushima takes your phone and throws it onto his bed
"Ignore them... focus on me.. I missed you (n/n).." he whispers, his voice turning you on so much
Fuck he knows you get weak in the knees when he calls you that nickname
You can feel his boner on your thigh
Your shirt being pulled off
His shirt coming off
Fuck you loved his muscles and abs
Fuck he loved your hips and waist
You start to see white, the bed, your ears filled with Terushima's moans and yours
God all you feel is pleasure...
You wake up in the blondes arms
The familiar feeling of Terushima's muscular arms around your waist, his pecs and abs against your back, the feeling of his dick resting soft against your plush ass
You missed this...
WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING
THIS WAS THE WORST IDEA YOU COULD POSSIBLY OF HAD
FUCK FUCK FUCK
You calm down for a moment and grab your phone trying not to wake Terushima, your ex boyfriend who fully cheated on you.
3 missed calls from your friends, 9 messages from many different people
God you had to send the guiltiest text to your friends - only a dumb, drunk person gets with their cheating ex...
"Good morning, (n/n)... are you hungry at all?" Terushima asks, his arms tightening around your waist as he kisses you neck gently
"Oh fuck no! Don't call me that, Yuuji!"
"Oh? But you loved it when I called you that last night?" He's smirking, you can hear it in his voice
He flips you onto your back and holds himself above you, kissing your neck slowly moving down
You can't lie... you love it so much
You move your arms onto his muscular back
His mouth moving back to your lips
His tongue piercing cold to the touch
You moan into Terushima's mouth as you feel your dick get hard again
"Hmph~ see you're hard again, baby..."
"Don't baby me, Teru... I still fucking hate you"
"That's fine... Hate sex is so much better than normal sex... Fuck you're so perfect for me..." terushima moans as he rubs his dick into yours
It seems like you're very pre-disposed to bad ideas

Look After You
Olivia Benson x gn!teen!reader warnings:mentions of sh and depression, ooc Olivia(?) word count:1031 a/n:writing this was harder than i thought itd be. i, personally, have never been in a situation like this so i apologize if it is unrealistic. a/n2:no matter what it feels like, you are not alone. somebody will always care for you, you mean something. harming yourself is never the answer even if it feels like the only way to cope at the time. i am here if you truly believe that nobody cares, bc i care and my dms r open. prompt:request from anon: Hiiii I was wondering if u could do Olivia benson x teen reader where reader is struggling w sh and Olivia comforts her (if your not comfortable w it I understand)
—
Olivia's sigh is barely noticeable, an involuntary exhale that speaks louder than any voice could. Each step is deliberate, weighed down by the burden of her case. Her key slides into the lock with a quiet click, the door opening with a soft creak.
The apartment, usually a haven of solace, feels heavy with a palpable weight. As she steps inside, the door closes softly behind her, shutting out the noise from the busy street outside. The air is still, the only sound the soft whir of the fridge in the kitchen.
Olivia's gaze flickered to the digital clock on the microwave, the neon-green digits burning the time into her sleep-deprived eyes: 1:32 AM. It was late, far later than her usual schedule.
The brunette sets the case file down gently on the cool expanse of the kitchen bar. The manila folder seems to hold the weight of her day, the pages inside bearing the heavy truths and injustices that had filled the hours since dawn. Olivia leaves the case file on the bar, the weight of its contents momentarily left behind. She quietly moves down the hallway, the soft creak of the floorboards a silent promise to let her kids rest undisturbed.
First, she checks on her young son, peeking into the room to find him soundly asleep, the soft glow of a night light illuminating the room. Satisfied, she moves to your room, opening the door carefully to ensure they're also asleep.
The oak door creeks open and Olivia’s light smile falls from her lips as she stands in the doorway, taking in the scene before her. You're sitting on the floor, leaning against the bed, your shoulders shaking with silent sobs. She steps into the room, her footsteps soft and gentle as she moves toward you.
"Hey.. what's wrong?" she asks, her voice a tender whisper as she crouches down next to you.
You shake your head slightly, unable to form words through the tears. Olivia's heart tightens, her expression a mix of concern and understanding.
"Take your time, baby," she says gently, her voice soothing. "I'm here when you're ready to talk."
She settles down next to you on the floor, her presence like a warm reassurance in the shadows. She waits patiently, giving you the space you need to collect yourself.
"But.." you protest, your voice breaking with the force of your emotions, "I just feel like no one understands what I'm going through. I'm just... I'm just so tired.”
Olivia's heart aches at the pain in your voice. "I know it's hard," she murmurs, "believe me, I know. But I'm here. And we'll figure it out together."
She hesitates for a moment, her eyes darting to your tear-stained face. "Can I give you a hug?" she asks tentatively, her arms open in invitation.
You nod wordlessly, the tears still streaming down your cheeks. Olivia gathers you into her arms, pulling you close against her. The warmth of her embrace wraps around you like a comforting blanket, her steady presence a lifeline in the storm of your emotions.
"Shh," she whispers, her voice a comforting murmur. "It's okay. Let it out. I've got you."
Your tears dampen her shirt as you bury your face against her, the sobs racking your body as you finally let all the pent-up emotions loose. She holds you tighter, her hand rubbing soothing circles on your back. Olivia's heart clenches in her chest as her eyes dart down to your arms, the faint scars standing out against your skin in the dim light. The realization hits her like a punch to the gut, her fingers tensing on your shoulders.
"Sweetheart...?" she asks, her voice a strained whisper. "What's this?"
You freeze, your breath catching in your throat. You'd been so careful to keep the secret hidden, and yet here it was, exposed under the sharp scrutiny of your mother's gaze.
"I...it's nothing," you whisper, the lie falling flat even to your own ears.
"It's not nothing?" Olivia asks firmly, her eyes not leaving your arms. Her fingers gently trace the lines of scars, the worry etched across her face mirroring the turmoil inside your chest. "Did you do this to yourself?"
You can feel the weight of her question, the silent accusation hanging heavy in the air. You'd hoped this conversation would never happen, that your secret would remain yours to carry. But now it was out in the open, laid bare for your mother to see.
You nod silently, your eyes averted, your voice trapped in your throat.
Olivia's breath hitches in her chest, her throat tightening at your confirmation. It was as if all the air had been sucked out of the room. She'd suspected, of course, but the confirmation was like a dagger to her heart.
"Oh, sweetheart," she murmurs, her voice thick with emotion. "Why? Why would you do this to yourself?" She cups your face gently, making you meet her gaze, the pain and worry in her eyes a stark contrast to the facade you'd been trying to maintain.
You can't find the words to answer, the tears that had slowed starting afresh. There were so many reasons, so many thoughts and feelings that had pushed you to the edge time and time again. But how do you explain that to someone who couldn't possibly understand the storm inside your mind?
Olivia sees the turmoil in your eyes, the silent struggle to find the words. She pulls you back into her arms, cradling you against her chest as another wave of tears breaks against her.
"We need to talk about this," she says softly, her voice a comforting murmur as she runs her fingers through your hair. "But not tonight. Tonight, just let me hold you."
You cling to her, your hands gripping the fabric of her shirt as if it was a lifeline. The exhaustion and the weight of your anguish suddenly feel too much, and you let the tears fall freely.
Being held in her arms like this, safe and warm, you can almost forget the world that had driven you to this point.
For now, this was enough.

Something was not right. The thunderstorm outside felt unreal, the lightning struck again, and you only saw white slashing in front of you through the glass.
“Get away from the window, sweetheart.” A female voice you’ve never heard of, advised you. You turn around at the same time you felt her hand grip your shoulder.
“Mama?” You’ve seen her before. Of course you had. In pictures, and albums. But you’ve never heard her speak. She pulls you back onto the velvet chair that sat in the middle of the living room. Everything was unrecognizable. She and the place both was.
“What did I tell you about standing too close to the window? It’s already cool enough here- Oh, see? Your fingers are freezing.” True to her words, your fingers were pruning up.
Your mother’s hands loosened from your arm as she walked back into the kitchen. “I’m making some hot cocoa, do you want some?”
You didn’t respond, too busy examining your surroundings. The structure of the building gave you a sense of deja vu. And the view outside, even through the rain and storms, brought out a sinking feeling in your chest.
You walked back towards the window and saw a glimpse of yourself and flinched back. You’re a child.
It registered to you then that it was all a dream. And more fear erupted from your chest. Were you supposed to be this aware in dreams? It’s never happened before. And yet as you eye the pavement outside being splashed with water whilst your mother called for you from the kitchen, you knew it couldn’t be real.
This is a dream. This is a dream. This is a dream.
You pinched yourself, and still found yourself unmoving.
There is a statue outside on the grounds. A tall white something, you can't tell. But even in the fog and drizzle, it stands magnificent in all it's glory.
The third time your mother called for you, you turned towards her.
Her face glitches as she nears you with a mug in hand. A colorless mug, changing colors the same way her face changes too. You took a step back, frightened. But as your mother cocks her head to the side in question, your feet halts in its place.
“What did I tell you about the window, darling?”
“Mama?” you asked again, against your own resistance. Your mother smiled and moved closer. She wore a necklace with a circular shaped object that laid on her chest. It had rubies on it’s edge, and a triangle cut out in the middle, like a button you could push. It stood out like your mothers dark black eyes that bore no reflection.
“What did I tell you about standing too close to the window, sweetheart?” She asked again, stoically despite her toothy smile.
She glitched again, and for a moment, you thought her face had cracks all over it, filled with red burning glow that looked like lava.
Your hand itched to touch her, to pull her by her collar and scream, you are not my mother. To hug her, to cry in her chest and ask her why she left you.
But instead, you just stood there and hear her calling out for your name again.
The last call clashed with the sound of a thunder, and you felt yourself jump as your shooked out of your nightmare.
The earth below you felt like it had broken into two.
It was raining. It was actually fucking raining.
And for some reason, you looked up to the sky and felt rain water pouring down your whole entire body as lightning struck again from the clouds.
You were standing outside your school building at god knows what hour, in the rain.
“What the hell are you doing?” A thunderous voice shouted from behind you.
You twist your neck to look back, and found the last person you wanted to see in this kind of situation. “Clarisse.” You breathed out with tired eyes.
She stands under the roof of the dorm building, far from you, but close enough to be able to hear her yelling.
Clarisse sprinted towards you from your left with an umbrella that wasn't really standing a chance with the heaviness of the wind and water. Immediately, she pulled you under the pathetic excuse of a shelter and stared at you in disbelief, open mouthed and weirded out.
“Are you insane?” She bellowed out, somehow loud enough to hear. “I- I don't know what happened.” You shouted back.
“What do you mean?” She was beginning to pull you by your arm towards your dorm building, the two of you skipping quickly until you're finally in safety.
“I just woke up and I'm here.” Clarise took the umbrella and harshly flapped it to her side and tried wringing the water out from it. “You sleepwalked?” She asks as she's squeezing the umbrella.
“Yeah.” She then placed the umbrella against the walls of the ground floor, along with the other umbrellas placed there for emergency before taking you by the hand again towards the elevator.
“This has got to be the craziest case of sleepwalking, you could've had hypothermia.” She says it like it's your fault. You almost snapped back at her to say that she shouldn't be awake at this time too, but had the sense to keep your mouth shut. “It's never happened before.” You say instead.
“What never happened? Sleepwalking, or sleepwalking out of a building?”
“Both.” She nodded with an ‘ah’.
The elevator dings open, and her hand slips away from yours as she enters it before you.
“What were you doing awake anyways?” You finally ask her.
“I went down to use the water dispenser to fill up my bottle, then I saw a crazy girl in short shorts in the middle of a storm.”
Your cheeks heated up when you remembered that you were still in a tank top and shorts. A city girl's definition of pajamas.
“Thanks.” You muttered awkwardly, she acknowledges it with another nod.
Once the elevator stops at her level, she exits it and stops in her tracks when she realizes you weren't following her. “Come on.”
“I'm on level 20.” You say dumbly.
“I know, I've seen your dorm. You should come change at my place, unless you want to have to explain to your roommates why you're soaked at 3am.” You considered her proposal quickly and steps out before the doors could close.
“What about your roommates?” You asks.
“Don't have any.” She responds, clicking her tongue.
“Seriously?” She hums positively. “Legacy students have solo rooms.”
The walk towards her room was silent. You let your eyes wander through the red coloured halls and the decorations hung on them. She was an Ares girl, that one is obvious.
There are shields and trophies inside glass boxes along the way to the corridor, and you could assume that the Ares dorm kids are known for their competitiveness, alongside their ferocity.
Once you reach the end of a corridor, she unlocks the singular door that exists in this corner of the level and shoos you inside, following you right after.
Her room was unexpectedly neat, not that you let yourself really look around.
But it was difficult not to notice the air conditioner along with her much-larger-than-yours closet.
She passes you a new and folded towel for you to dry your hair and body while she searches for something to wear.
“Do you want to take a shower first?” She asks whilst rummaging through her closet. “No, it's fine.” It would be too suspicious if you skipped a shower a few hours after your friends woke up.
“Suit yourself.” She answers before handing over to you a thick Princeton sweater with long sleevss and cuffs with a pair of long cotton trousers.
Clarisse had the decency to turn around as you changed and only turned back around once you were done. “Just give me the towel.” She says. “It's laundry day tomorrow anyways.”
You stand near her bedside table after that, eyeing the small picture frame that sat there in solidarity. There was a picture of her, much younger than she is now, and an older woman with her hands around her shoulder.
“Is that your mom?” You asked. Clarisse walked over and shoved the frame down on the table, a CLACK noise following the action. “Someone's chatty.” She noted. But you thought you heard a slight tremble.
“Right, sorry. I should go now.” You feel whatever friendliness that managed to slip through the cracks ofnyour interaction with her, begin to dissolve.
It was easy to be reminded of who Clarisse La Rue actually was.
“What's the rush, I'm sure the rain water have woken you up quite well.” She replies, sitting down on her bed. “Look, I appreciate the help. But if my roommates wake up and they see that I'm gone, they-”
“They'll think you're using the bathroom.” She cuts you off. “For 20 minutes?” Clarisse shrugs. “Some people have issues.”
You sighed at her answer and felt your feet beginning to hurt from standing up for too long without shoes outside the school. You're tired and easily irritated after what just happened, and her push and pull behavior isn't helping.
“I don't know why you want me to stay, I'm tired, you're tired. And it's almost 4am.” You throw your arms up in exasperation. “I just wanna go back to sleep and act like this never happened.”
“You know, I'm just trying to make sure you're alright. Because despite your objection, that did happen. And that's not normal. So a thank you would suffice.” Her demeanor had changed into frustration, she was not someone who takes rejection well.
“I already thanked you. And I don't need a free counseling session from a bully- who by the way, ripped a drawing out of my sketchbook.” Clarisse's head jerked back at your words. She stood up to properly face you before you could run out of her room.
“Oh that's it, isn't it? I'm such a terrible person and your moral righteousness can't stand it, and yet you dedicated a whole page to my face.” You could no longer tell what she was feeling from her tone of voice. Was she amused or defensive?
“That book isn't yours to see, let alone to take.” You snapped back.
“It has my face on it, of course it's mine to take.” she scoffed, folding her arms together.
“Oh wow, I wonder what else you assume is yours to take with that kind of pretentiousness.” You retorted, laughing dryly at her face.
The smugness disappeared, and for a second, you felt proud.
“You know, for someone I can easily make life living hell for, you're starting to get way too daring. It's not cute anymore.” Clarisse's feet stepped closer to you, until your noses were inches away from each other.
There is fear in crossing the point where you can never go back when it comes to her anger. But you have never been the kind of girl to lay back and take a kick from anyone else.
You're also not the type of girl to think that you owe anyone anything for some common decency.
“I’m so genuinely curious Clarisse, who do you think you are? You're just another girl in this place, like the rest of us. Legacy student or not.”
An unhumourous smile paints her face as she shakes her head at you. “You have no idea who I am. And at this point, I'm starting to think that I should've just left you in the rain to freeze and die.”
“I would've woken up and left anyway, even if you weren't there.” As upset as you are with her, that part specifically caused you guilt to say aloud. She was obnoxious, but she did help you.
“Oh sure, miss tortured artist galloping in the thunderstorm-”
“I wasn't gallop- you know what?” It felt like the 100th time you were telling her off. “I'm actually leaving this time. So, thank you, for helping me, and thank you for your narcissism.”
You gripped the door handle tightly and spared her no glance as you pull it open and walked out away from her. You wanted to slam the door on her face but thought twice when you remembered that it's 4am and someone could've heard you.
You tiptoed your way back into the elevator and up to level 20. The dorm room was unlocked, unsurprisingly so.
The dark room's only source of light is the bright moon glowing numbly through the closed curtains behind Harper's bed. The rain have subsided, all the nightmarish lighting qnd thunder have stopped.
You gently climbed up onto your bed, eager to get under the covers. You could see the shadows of your friends from where you lay. Their silhouette giving you a peace of mind.
If either of them had heard of what just happened to you, they would panic. It's been 2 days, and yet they care for you so easily.
You rub your feet together, trying to diffuse the coldness away.
Tonight, whatever that had happened, felt unreal. But tomorrow all will be well. It had to be.
-
You had not slept a wink for the rest of the hours before your alarm went off.
There were times where you almost dozed off, but for some reason it felt like your tired body was unable to fully shut down and let go of the main control.
You know that sleepiness was evident in your face, but your roommates said nothing of it as they rose up, preparing to rush for the bathroom before the other girls could.
"Did you change clothes last night?" Harper asks absentmindedly. She pulls her hair up into a bun and grabbed her towel from the spinning chair by her table.
You looked down at the sweatshirt and back up at her. "Oh-uh, yeah. I got cold last night, with the rain and all."
"I figured. I just know the chill out there is gonna be crazy today." The both of them left after that for their shower and secured you a booth to get in to after they were done. Thankfully, there was a bit of hot water left for you to indulge in.
It was exactly what you needed after the horrifics you've experienced through a few hours before.
You had spent the hours before getting up, going over the dream you had. It was rare for you to remember your nightmares, let alone be aware that you were dreaming while you're doing it.
You could also remember small details like the glass window with the giant statue, your mother's necklace and the way her face appeared and disappeared. You've never been a superstitious person, but was there a possibility that dreams like that meant something? Or was it just another lucid dream?
You'd thought that you'd feel comforted, seeing your mother that way, and the way she fussed over you. But all you felt was a strong distinction. An awareness that she was not real, and that she'd never be.
There were 2 other girls in the bathroom with you when you were done showering. One was using the sink on your left, and another was still cleaning themselves up.
You forced the freezing water all over your face, trying to refresh yourself and hopefully make your face look less beated. Looking into the mirror felt like a challenge. The dream still haunts you even now. You almost expect a child to stare back from the glass. And god, how you feel like a child right now, out of place and confused.
After a few more splashes, you wiped the droplets off with your towel and clenched your toes as you walked back to your dorm.
The girls were halfway done getting ready when you entered. Their bags were stacked by the door on the way out. "You're a bit slow today." Tella noted as she struggles to keep her hair up without the strands falling out.
"Couldn't really sleep last night." You told them as you began putting on your plaited skirt. The zip had completely fallen off as you tried to pull it up. You swore aloud and had to restrain yourself from banging your head on your table. Everything was going wrong today. From the 3am sleepwalking to your stupid skirt dysfunction.
"What? What is it?" Harper asked in response to your outburst.
"My zip fell off." You mumbled in annoyance. Her head tilted towards you in concern. "I have a safety pin, I think it'd work. Do you want it?"
"Yes please." You answer. She pulls out a tiny box of safety pins from her drawer and hands you one to use. "Thanks."
"Don't sweat it." Harper was the first to finish. She helped Tella fix her ponytail for the 5th time, slapping her hand away when she tried to tighten it herself.
Once the three of you were all done, you left together, locking the dorm doors and going down through the full elevator.
You had stuffed Clarisse's still clean clothes inside your school bag when they were showering. You planned to return it to her owner, and let that be the last time you'll ever owe Clarisse La Rue anything.
The girls had probably assumed your behavior had something to do with homesickness, as they went on without question. You were grateful for the lack of conversation. The last thing you wanted to do today was talk.
You had questions bugging your mind and the need to isolate yourself. It's what you always do whenever you're feeling disturbed and overwhelmed, you black out from the rest of the world.
Carefully walking down the school halls to your locker, you half expected people to stare at you differently, afraid that someone else might've seen you from last night, but everyone minded their business, and so uou did too.
You were pulling out your books from the locker when you hear Tella turning around to greet someone, taking a step further away from you and Harper. You twist your neck to meet the mystery man who's in conversation with your friend.
Sharing a look with Harper, she only shook her head nonchalantly before leaning closer to you. "That's Luke Castellan." She whispered.
The name was recognised quickly, old conversations with Tella being brought back in memory. "That's the guy she likes?"
Harper nodded. "Well, does he like her back?"
Harper shrugged. "They compared hand sizes, so I think so. But who knows with boys." You made a face at her and nodded warily. "As long as she's happy." You tell her. It wasn't that Luke was unattractive, it's that he sounded so much like a regular teenage boy that you have grown to have an automatic dislike for.
It wasn't his fault that the species of his sex have failed in their entirety.
Harper was about to say something else when Tella suddenly called for you and had gotten closer. "This is our new roommate I was talking about." She says to Luke, gesturing to you.
Up close, you could see that he has a scar on his cheek. He also had dark curls and brown eyes that seemed to fit the whole american sweetheart vibes that Tella was obviously into.
"Hey." You greeted him without any animosity. He smiled and returned the greeting, giving you a small wave. "How do you like it here so far?" He asks.
"Well, it's only been 2 days but I think it's alright." You answer dishonestly. Obviously you weren't going to tell him that this place has conjured some deeply problematic things from inside of you like sleepwalking and attracting assholes.
His grin doesn't falter as he takes in your words. "Not exactly an exciting place, is it? At least you're in good company." You forced out a tight smile for him. God only knows just how exciting it's been for you, and it hasn't even been a week.
You thought of cutting to the chase by telling him it's nice knowing him and walking off before your eyes landed on a girl walking past the lot of you.
Clarisse La Rue kept her eyes straight ahead as she headed for the classroom at the back. Her clothes are still in your bag that's sat on the floor. You picked it up and slung it over your shoulder and excused yourself from all three of them, making Luke and Tella move to the side to give you space. “I gotta go.”
"See you in recess." Tella called out. You raise your arm and give her a thumbs up and keep walking down the same path Clarisse did.
What a coincidence that you two are on the same class today? History is an interesting subject, one you're fully prepared to enjoy. But the thought of being anywhere close to the curly haired girl, makes your stomach feel like they're tied in knots.
You managed to chase after her before she was seated on her desk. And the class was thankfully still half empty since the bell hadn't rang yet. Your mind is racked on how you're supposed to just pass her a plastic of her clothes in the most subtle way possible.
But of course, your mouth had a mind of its own when you impulsively shouted out her name.
Clarisse had just dropped her own bag down against her table when she heard your call. She instantly turned around to face you. "New girl." She addressed you.
She widens her eyes in question. You push the plastic bag in your arms into her chest, and your fingers brush as she takes it from you to examine it. "Oh, this."
"Thank you for the clothes." You say monotonously. Neither of you looked pleased to see each other, but what's unexpected still, is that she also didn't look like she wanted to kill you like she did last night.
Clarisse waved it off and crouched down to keep the plastic inside her own bag.
You stood there waiting until she was gone and stood back up to see you. Something is supposed to be said in a moment like this, but none of you did.
And so with a small nod to enclose the interaction, you spun on your heels to egt to your table. Your feet was locked in place when you felt her hands on your shoulder.
You looked at her with raised brows in expectation.
"This is yours." She says, passing you a folded A4 paper. Your first thought was that this was your drawing that she took. But you hadn't used the kind of paper she was giving. You took the paper suspiciously. “What's this?” You asked.
She only says: “You'll see,” with a shrug.
The moment her grip was lifted from your shoulder, you walked and sat yourself at your desk, and tried your hardest not to turn around.
The bell had just begun to ring outside of the class, and other students were filling into the small space.
Whatever it was, you'd look at it later. For now, it's folded four times more and stuffed into your pencil case.
-
When one grows up, constantly having to take care of themselves without adult supervision or emotional support, they are also forced to belittle and diminish their own fears in an attempt to rise over their struggles to survive in a hostile environment.
And so you’ve had to learn to do things such as walking home from school alone and risking unwanted attention from men and how to hide a knife under your knuckles for prevention purposes.
And yet as you overcame these fears one by one, only two you had found impossible to fight. And that is your fear of moths and butterflies, and your fear of heights.
And yet, standing up here on the roof, arms placed against the railing and looking down, all you could think of is how beautiful the view was from up here. You could see the closed area of the school from above here. Green grass filled the large space that is guarded behind white walls and a large sign that said ‘NO ENTRY.’
The railing shook slightly, making you jerk back. The cringing noise it made hurts your ear as it vibrates. Taking a few steps back, you figured it’s safer to watch from a distance.
You cocked your head down again, taking one last glance down and tried to memorize the image of the flowery laced garden. Your friends would be looking for you now, you thought..
Your feet moved you to the closed door that awaits for your exits, and yet, as your hand wraps against the holder, the heaviness of it suddenly becomes unbearable. You wiped your hands on your skirt and tried to open the door again, but it wouldn’t budge.
“Shit.” You muttered under your breath. There wasn’t even a lock on this thing. Or was there? You couldn’t remember. You completely let go of the door and sprinted back towards the railing. Was there anyone that could help you?
No, of course not. The area was prohibited for anyone to cross. The same grasses and dying flowers watching you from underneath.
The railing shook again as you scanned the place thoroughly. This time it jerks so harshly that the left side of it completely pulls away from its metal and threatens to fall off. You jumped back just in time to not fall off, but your heart drops so strongly that it feels like you’ve already fallen.
You consider trying to pull back the railing and somehow pressing it back on it’s screw, but the damage was unfixable when you observed it in closer view. You think back to your main problem, escaping this place.
There was no other choice than to simply try pulling the door harder, and to scream for help.
You give all of your strength into pulling. “Help!” You shouted. “I'm stuck on the roof! Hello?”
The door felt like it shook a little, your cramped fingers kept on pulling until you were sure it really was opening. You paused for a minute to squeeze your fingers inside your palms.
“One last try.” You breathed out. Your hands give your best tug while your feet stay on the ground, unmoving. You hear a creak and your heart almost bursts out of hope.
Consistently pulling still, you could actually see the edges of the door sliding through, opening slowly. One, two three-
It opens widely with a slam, you're pushed back until your back hits the ground. Getting back up onto your knees, you rose up and aimed for the door. But the emptiness on the other side of the door held you back.
You gasped loudly. There was no staircase on your opposite. There was no concrete or flat ground for you to land your feet on. Only air and steepness. It was like a never ending hole to fall into, the kind of hole you imagined Alice had jumped inside of to arrive in wonderland.
Panic washed all over you. And as you're pacing around at the roof, you hear someone calling your name. It was help, somebody had arrived to help. The shouting was faint, but you heard it clearly anyways. You returned to the railing and searched for any spot of people, but no one wasn't there.
You hear the voice again, calling your name. It's getting louder, but you're not sure where it's coming from. You yell back on the top of your lungs. “I'm here!” And the response became more vivid.
“Miss?” You hear it like it's behind you.
You snapped your head to your back, nothing.
“Wake up.” The voice insisted. “I'm not dreaming.” You pushed. “This isn't a dream.”
“Wake up. Wake up. Wake up.” The shouting was shrilling, your ears could be bleeding and you'd believe it.
“Wake up.” It screamed into your ear as you knelt down on the ground, covering your ears with both hands.
“Wake up!” You felt hands shaking your back. Your head looks up in a state of disorientation.
“Miss?” It was your biology teacher, bending down to meet your eyes, skeptically watching you.
“Everyone left, sweetheart.” She says, pointing at all the empty tables in the classroom. You hate that pet name. It always sounds so mocking.
This was the last class you had for today, the lack of sleep must've caught up with you. You straightened your back and apologized to Ms. Rhodes for keeping her waiting. She only shook her head and tells you to take care before leaving the classroom.
You looked around the class and tried to remind yourself that whatever you had seen in your mind, was just a dream. It wasn't real. And yet it felt like it, just like the dream you had last night. And in both dreams, you had been aware of the surroundings in ways you shouldn't be.
You wiped your hands over your face and yawned quietly. The clock above the board shows that it's already past 6pm. You cracked your knuckles together and lifted your bag onto your shoulders. If you're quick, you could still make it to the dorm showers before 7.
You stopped by your locker to stack your books inside of it. The hallway is empty, you're not sure how long you fell asleep, but everyone else seems to dread being inside this building more than they needed to.
You think of the vividness of the school landscape from your dream. The place had a staircase that led to the rooftop by the janitor's closet at the back. A small voice encourages you to try and retrace the steps in your dream, just to see how different iit was compared to real life.
But instead of going up the stairs, you notice the space behind it, and ducked your head down underneath instead.
There is a closed door a few steps away from the roof entrance staircase. It was a glass door covered with black plastic and a No Entry sign plastered on it. Those words ring a bell in your head.
You pushed it open gently and was pleased to see that it wasn't even locked. Whoever's trying to guard this place from students obviously isn't very good at their job.
The door opened up just enough for you to slide yourself inside. You weren't surprised to see a room of forests hidden inside.
This must be the garden. It wasn't quite like you dreamed it, but it was accurate enough. It's smaller than expected, and it's much more empty than I envisioned.
You circle the place, paying attention to the roots and veins that have crawled up the walls, stepping your feet on the overgrown weeds and leaves.
You flinched when you hear the leaves ruffles and turn to see the invader. Your shock immediately subsided and morphed into irritation when you saw her.
“Are you following me?” You ask in disbelief.
Clarisse frowned and denies it. “No? I was-?” She takes the time to think of an excuse until eventually she just sighs and shook her head. “Yes, okay maybe I did follow you here- but only because this is forbidden ground.”
“And you're so good at obeying rules?” You sarcastically question, earning an eye roll. “No, really though, what are you doing here?”
“I had a dream about the garden.” Clarisse waved her hands in confusion and frowned deeper. “Okay…that’s great?” You gave up trying to explain to her and focused back on your surrounding.
You tilted your head up at the sky, almost expecting to see the roof and a broken railing, but there is tinted dark glass coves the school roof for the safety of the mids, you thought.}, so all you saw staring back down is a closed building.
“You know, there you used to be a weeping angel here.” Clarisse spoke suddenly. “Hm?”
“A statue. Right in the middle.” She clarifies.
“Did they remove it because of Samara?” You asked. Clarisse's eyes widen and she looks you up and down with her hands on her hips. “Who told you about Samara?”
“My roommates.”
“Of course they did. Can't keep their mouth shut for shit.” Clarise scoffed. You feel overprotective over your friends, knowing them to have good intentions. “Don't talk about them like that.”
Clarisse ignores your warnings and instead moves like she's about to leave. “We should go. The teachers like to do a 360 before locking shit up.” She walks out without waiting. And despite your annoyance, you followed her still.
The two of you quietly walked side by side until you're out of school grounds and entered the dorm building together. There were some girls hanging out on the water fountain and near the elevator, but they paid no mind to either of you.
Clarisse's head is aimed straight ahead, and you consider it the longest she's gone without saying something stupid to you.
Once the elevator stops at her level, she gives you one last glance, her fierce eyes boring deep into yours for that split second. You thought you saw a shadow of a smile ghosting over her face, but before you could confirm, the door closes, and you're on your way to the Hecate level.
After unlocking the door of your dorm, you threw your bag onto the ground and basically swung yourself on your bed, making Harper jump while she's putting on her skincare. “You look like shit.” She tells you.
You snorted and rolled over until you're facing the ceiling. “I feel like it.”
She hummed casually and went on with her business.
You lifted your head up slightly to see Tella, but she's nowhere to be found.
“Where's Tella?” You asks Harper. “Showering.” She responds. “I don't know what's taking her so long, but you'll probably see her when you go to the bathroom.”
You nodded in understanding and began to undress yourself from the school clothes, putting them on the side for washing later.
You then started pulling out your notebooks that had homework in it and stacked it on your desk. Only after you pulled your pencil case out, you remembered about the piece of paper Clarisse had given you.
Curiously, you basically snatched it from inside your case, and unfold the paper from its small size into a large white A4 again.
Inside was the ugliest cartoonish image you’ve ever seen in your whole life.
It's a drawing. A badly drawn girl, half up only, with hair that supposedly, looks like yours. And a nose that didn't have the right proportions for the face size.
You smiled at the image subconsciously. You're sure Clarissebhad given this to you as some sort of trade, her picture for her, and your picture for you. It could even mean a truce between you two.
But instead of stressing over what deeper meaning does her doodles really have, you folded it back and kept it by your night lamp.
“Why are you smiling like that?” Harper asks, you meet her eyes through the mirror. “Nothing, I just remembered something funny.” You lied. She squints her eyes really hard as if she’s trying to read through you for any lies but then gives up after a few seconds of it.
Your smile disappeared as soon as it came, you picked your towel up and acted as if nothing happened and made your way to the bathroom.
What is your stance towards Clarisse? Inconclusive. She’s there behind every ostracizing event that has occurred to you so far. And you wonder just how big of a part does she really play into all of this. Her gaze still burns in the back of your mind, it’s almost impossible to escape her even when she’s not centered around any of the issues.
Should you let things play out in her way or should you keep fighting her off, stubborn to break the cycle of a moth to a flame,
