These #demonstrators wouldn’t let up. They just refused to let things go back to normal. Those who sought to live their lives and earn their way in the economy regarded them as going too far. In the minds of the majority, these #protestors had lost sight; their constant unrest was defeating their own goal. Because they refused to accept the system, they were becoming seen as #extremist. Their cries about #liberty were being dismissed at the highest levels. 
Their demands for equity in law and the economy were labelled as fringe and destructive. Those of high influence and visibility played the middle ground, and remained essentially silent on the issues being brought up. 
These demonstrators were fast regarded as radicals and terrorists. Yet they persisted. And they would get worked up at night, and then assemble and march, eventually surrounding the #StateHouse. This was, after all, the building that housed the central government of #England for the thirteen colonies. They would scream and holler and mock and taunt and make their point clear that there can be no peace without justice for all. This great example is pat of #USA’s #history, and glorified in our #mythology. And for good reason: it worked. The anecdote I am sharing is from 250 or so years ago. The behaviors and attitudes I mentioned were those of and towards the originators of the US nation. Is it any surprise, then, that we press in this fashion? Is it not completely reasonable to use this great example as the template for flaws in justice, misrepresentation of taxation, or falsehoods in legislation? If these demonstrations feel revolutionary, it is not because they are unreasonable or the petitions are unclear. Just as what happened at The Old State House in the 1770s, the demonstrations felt #revolutionary because those in power refused to alter their course of treatment. Watching it repeat, a ghost reanimated before my eyes, is chilling, a bit infuriating, but entirely exhilarating. This is how justice and liberty is won. May it persist.
