Jin visits Aura. "Sorry it has taken so long... But guess what." He grins widely. "You are going to be an aunt!"

"Jin!" She say, standing up fast enough to knock the chair over. "If Ida'known you were coming for a visit, I would've cooked something." At least she had time to wash the soot off. She pulls him into a big bear hug.

"Wait, I know that smile. You two- REALLY? I didn't think- well, whatever. Come in and tell me about it. I'll put the pot on for tea or something. Got coffee too, if you want it."

When he recalled the arms, she stopped her advancement. One of them broke, a sure sign of his mana waning, but he recalled the rest. He was saving it up. Was he preparing a strike?

She couldn't allow that, but instead of charging him, she readied her shield, bracing for an attack while keeping her eyes open for trickery. This momentary pause gave her time to look at his stance properly. He was looking for an opening, baiting her to over-extend.

But she wanted to win this sparring match, and she wouldn't if she got greedy. A quick attack may have ended it, but he had already shown how tricky his magic could be. She needed to play this safe. The oni began to slowly walk around him, keeping her shield raised between them.

Watching and waiting for an opening as she kept her defenses up.

Aura was practicing in the training area normally reserved for the guardsmen. She had become a somewhat regular visitor when she wasn't in the company of the Princess Asta. (Older Aura for Older Lief @raging-soul-of-fire)

Lief was flying back home on his floating skull, having it cloaked in dark magic to avoid startling any on-lookers. However, while flying over, he noticed that there was a lone figure in the guardsmen training area. Raising an eyebrow, he'd lean over and squint, much to his little legend's worry, and spot... "Wait... Is that... !! AURA!" He'd chime before standing up and waving at her. He would redirect his skull towards her and begin flying over. "Aura! Aura it's me!" He'd continue waving and smiling.

just watched markiplier’s play through of mouthwashing and. Swansea saving the last available pod for Daisuke. so he can actually live out the rest of his life. and then it doesnt even matter in the end. Swansea being so accepting of his death. aughhhhh

Can't decide whether I prefer Neuvillette looking like an old man (white hair + grandpa demeanour + dad vibes for all the melusine) or if I like him looking like a pretty, youthful model (super young by dragon years + in game model baby-face + actually very inexperienced in human conduct = immature?)

All the fanart I see kind of just picks one but idkkkk,,, I sort of enjoy the idea that he's kinda young looking but talks and acts very very old because, you know, in human terms he is very old. And everyone in Fontaine is used to it cos they all know he's not human and appearance ≠ reality. But people usually see him from pretty far away in the Opera house, so they can only see the white hair and hear his old man voice. So when he rarely does show up in person the public has a jumpscare of "oh not literally a grandpa huh uh oh".

And he definitely doesn't look like teenage or twenties, even youthful Neuvillette has gotta be like late thirties earliest. Mature but not actually as old as anyone would expect.

Aura stopped her work and examined the shield she made. The oni always preferred making armor or tools to weapons of war, and this shield was a solid one. Hopefully the client would be pleased.

Taking a moment to light some incense off the dying coals of the forge, she silently offers a prayer of thanks to the spirits before going to wash up and make a drink.

Drink in hand, she looks out across the sky, wondering how Nali and Jin are doing.

I was sitting down on the ground eating my lunch around the corner from the place that I'm working today and a woman stopped to ask me if I'm okay – do I not look okay? I look and feel fantastic today. Dam I shoulda asked for 5 dollars!

It's not my place to say but as a brown woman who has crossed the "socially acceptable marriageable age" in my country and gets treated like there is something wrong with me all the time, if you have the opportunity to stay single and live your best life where you live, please grab it with both hands. And even if you want a partner at some point, I am begging you to please not settle for anything less than exactly what your soul needs. I have seen too many women settling for whatever came their way because they were told that they were running out of time and literally wouldn't wish that on anyone.

But also my mom is a STEM Mother who was always cool w me dedicating a big chunk of my life to science & academia. The teenage boy would watch the other from a distance as his arms were folded across his chest. He would slowly make his way over before bowing. "I have seen you training with my brother. Thank you."

Aura looked surprised and her expression softened when she was bowed to. She didn't consider herself someone who deserved that measure of respect.

"It's no trouble. I'm just glad we can help each other. My sensei would want me to practice my technique with all sorts of people and scenarios to prepare for different scenarios. It sounds like he wants to learn, too."

She grins. "And if the guards aren't using the sparring grounds at this time of night, then it's nice to have the company." Her stubby tail is wiggling a little.

Aura smiles. She was much much bigger than she was back then, but her eyes, more than anything, still showed the same little kid looking back.

"You are more than enough, Papa." She says, wiping away a tear and smiling. "You took me in when I needed it most. Gave me a home, a loving family, and a better future than I could've dreamed of."

The oni gives him a hug. "I love you, Papa."

"Be honest..why did you take me in, Papa? I was a kid, and I had a Mama. You could've turned me away." (Older Aura @raging-soul-of-fire )

Seraph takes off his glasses and rubs his eyes. "Why? You where scared, alone, you needed some one to be there for you, to help you, to protect you... And while I may be no paladin, their morals rubbed off on me. I can not leave a troubled soul alone."

He puts his glasses back on and looks up at her. "Is that good enough? Was I good enough?"

last night, my dream wasnt clear if wolfwood was my brother or my best friend from childhood but i had a vision where he would get impaled by several crosses and die a horrible death like that. so i desperately tore off every cross he had on him but realized that there was one that he would never let me take away. and as i knelt there breaking down, he tried to comfort me saying “its okay its okay” knowing that he would die. and then i woke up. and i have to live with that memory.

i wish i liked more dubstep. i really WANT to like color bass (esp. the people who either have good melody or in some way push the style forward) but it just like. does not click. also tearout brostep, those basses are fucking COOL but it's just so Not For Me as a song
