just run into a problem on GODOT, a free game engine I’ve moved too after having massive trouble with unity earlier.

I wanted to swap out a colour in a sprite. I’m using shaders, which I’m new to. It runs the code for each pixel. You can give it colours to compare and then colours to change to. It works in the editor. It does not work in the game.

This is code::

shader_type canvas_item; render_mode unshaded;

uniform vec4 oldColour : hint_color; uniform vec4 newColour : hint_color;

void fragment(){ vec4 tcol = texture(TEXTURE, UV); if(tcol == oldColour){ COLOR= newColour; } }

The uniforms allow you to pass in the colour. I have not tried just passing in a vec4, but as it works in the editor, I know the right colour is being passed in. It works for pure white, it swaps out pure white for your colour, but not the colour for pure white.

I was about to ask a question in the godot discord, but I think I’ll do that tomorrow as I sleep now.
