Japanese Dramas:

Korean Dramas:

Chinese Dramas:

Plot Summary: Two childhood friends fall in love in college Episodes: 46 Episode length: 55 minutes with viewers complaining the storyline was rushed

what the tea with netflix dramas? i know they're controversial in the kdrama world but imo we've had some pretty great netflix dramas, my liberation notes, vincenzo …

oh boy this will be long. okay. now see, the dramas you mentioned? wonderful dramas. two of my faves!!! but not netflix dramas! those aired on tvN and jtbc and were just distributed to netflix to make back some $.

the thing with netflix is that they have genuinely fucked up the kdrama industry by buying dramas or creating their own dramas and taking away those airing opportunities from the main tv channels. that means less places for channels to place these shows leading to cuts in broadcast schedules and a trend of less and less dramas making it to air. many dramas have even been filmed but no channel wants to take risks of airing in fear of losing money without a streaming deal and most channels are moving to just the weekend timeslots for their biggest dramas. if you look at the biggest kdrama stars, almost every SINGLE one of those dramas is going to streaming this year and not a channel, not even tvN which was seen as a more "grade a" place for these mega dramas. so you have the mega dramas heading to streaming and the smaller dramas now stuck on airing - minus the RARE few actors who still choose the public route (namgoong min, ji sung, lee jehoon all come to mind asap) and even with those dramas the plot type is VERY limited for what does well - it's mainly makjangs or political thrillers.

and now there comes the point of netflix westernizing kdramas by breaking them into seasons, parts, and adding elements that were never in kdramas before. and by that i do not mean sex scenes i'm not a lewser i mean poorly written scripts filmed with big budgets and big stars but are dishes of the ghosts of prior kdramas. when streamers take these dramas it means $$$$ which has led to genuinely so many low effort scripts in recent years and writing trends that are following international "tastes" more than kdrama tastes. are there exceptions? absolutely!! but the fact that a single company has managed to spin the entire industry on its finger and create more losses than wins is genuinely terrible and i will never like it

Paik SaEon is the real caveman of this era... like what do you mean you married your fiancée's stepsister to save the said stepsister from marrying a total asshole. but, you are also acting like an asshole to the said stepsister that is now your wife. can't you be normal and just fcking confess that you had a crush on her and you want to protect her? why are you complicate things for yourself and treat your wife as if she is invisible? the angst, the sexual tension, the jealousy, the caveman instinct, the heart eyes you hide from her in the beginning of your marriage. dayummmmm, this drama is keeping me at the edge of my seat and i love it.

yes i love the male lead that is borderline red flag but will slowly learn his way and turns to a green flag and finally becoming the real fool and hopelessly in love. although this one is hopelessly in love since the beginning but act like a total scumbag to protect the said "my person"
