Before I could finish our game, a big loud alarm and red flashing lights came in and scared me away.

Turns out it was just an ambulance; which I don't think is a fun trick to play. So, I suppose now it would be the right thing to do if I just paid my new best friend a quick visit!!!"

Character Context:

Pom Pom is a virus/glitch formed by the scrapped side-scrolling arcade game from the early 90's “Pom-Pom Panic”. Pom Pom (the main character of Pom Pom Panic) for whatever reason gained sentience halfway during the game’s development. The game was cancelled halfway because the publishing company thought it was too bizarre of a concept and mascot character to gain interest. Pom Pom heard of the news and took it way too personally, as she literally cannot fathom why someone would think she’s ‘bizarre’-even to the point of getting ‘axed’. Prompted by the ‘poor judgement’ Pom Pom went rouge-breaking from her game to ‘axe’ any ‘approved’ game mascots/characters she thought could count as ‘bizarre’ like her.

This is an old ad. Definitely not an ad for this generation. This ad is for Quaker cereal and its "new" diet frosted cereal. This targets a specific audience, majority women at that time as many where trying to get on diets and lose weight. This peaked women's focus as it has a women on the ad and saying she can't believe it! Meaning she loves it and it has no sugar in it so she will not gain any weight/lose weight.

Πολύ πριν τα διάσημα “All Star” γίνουν το νούμερο 1 στις προτιμήσεις των νέων παιδιών στα αθλητικά παπούτσια και καταλάβουν εξέχουσα θέση στα editorial μόδας, η Ελλάδα είχε τη δική της λέξη για να περιγράψει αυτά τα παπούτσια: “Ελβιέλα”, ήταν το συνώνυμο του αθλητικού πάνινου παπουτσιού μέχρι τις αρχές της δεκαετίας του 80.

Όσοι διανύουν την πέμπτη δεκαετία της ζωής τους θυμούνται τους γονείς τους να λένε: “Πάλιωσαν οι ελβιέλες σου, να πάμε στο Λαμπρόπουλο να πάρουμε καινούργιες για το σχολείο” , εννοώντας ότι το παιδί τους χρειάζεται καινούργια αθλητικά παπούτσια για τη γυμναστική.

Λέγοντας “Ελβιέλα” δεν εννοούσαν τίποτα άλλο από πάνινα αθλητικά παπούτσια με λαστιχένια σόλα. Τα συγκεκριμένα αθλητικά παπούτσια ονομάστηκαν έτσι από την ΕΛ.ΒΙ.ΕΛΑ., την Ελληνική Βιομηχανία Ελαστικών που δραστηριοποιήθηκε στη χώρα μας από το 1940 έως τη δεκαετία του 60 που έκλεισε και έφερε αυτού του είδους τα παπούτσια στην Ελλάδα.

Η εταιρεία ιδρύθηκε το 1928 από τους Νικόλαο Μαυροφίδη και Νικόλαο Αγνιάδη, κι οι δυο με καταγωγή από τη Μικρά Ασία (ο πρώτος από το Ικόνιο). Το είδος για το οποίο είναι γνωστή είναι τα πάνινα αθλητικά παπούτσια με λαστιχένια σόλα, τα οποία παρήγαγε κατά κόρον. Η εταιρεία, που έμεινε ανενεργή σε όλη τη διάρκεια της Κατοχής, άνθισε στη δεκαετία 1950-1960.

Ο αρχικός ιδρυτής της Νικόλαος Μαυροφίδης, πέθανε το 1944 και το μερίδιό του κληροδοτήθηκε στους γιούς του Αιμίλιο και Στέφανο Μαυροφίδη.Τότε τα παπούτσια αυτά έβγαιναν μόνο σε άσπρο χρώμα και τα φορούσαν μόνο τα μικρά παιδιά στη Γυμναστική και στις παρελάσεις. Επειδή εκείν�� την εποχή αυτά ήταν τα μόνα αθλητικά παπούτσια που κυκλοφορούσαν στην Ελλάδα, και δεν υπήρχε άλλη εταιρεία που να κατασκευάζει τέτοιου είδους παπούτσια, επικράτησε ο όρος ελβιέλες (από το αρκτικόλεξο ΕΛ.ΒΙ.ΕΛΑ).
