The Blame Game
Tumblr media
It’s laughable to pretend that cultural fragility emerged spontaneously from any given generational cohort when the historical record shows the entire human race has been hypersensitive and dangerously reactionary since it first learned to bang rocks together. The current climate—replete with so-called “woke” social justice zealots, quack-MAGA conspiracy drones, and every other variant of cognitively stunted ideologue—exists not because humanity suddenly became frail, but because an expanding global population and relentless hyper-connectivity have transformed what were once pitifully small, laughable fringes into colossal, self-perpetuating mobs. You have only yourselves to blame for letting technological conveniences and endless content streams embolden the previously voiceless hordes, and for refusing to accept accountability for your own intellectual deficits.
The convenient excuse that some era—take your pick, the South Park-watching ’90s kids or the Family Guy-obsessed early millennials—must have toughened people up is a flaccid, nostalgia-driven delusion. The reality is that everyone has always been a delicate flower when poked in the right spot. The only difference now is the speed and scale at which these hysterical meltdowns are broadcast, archived, weaponized, and looped into infinite cultural feedback. The result: Both left-wing and right-wing “snowflakes” spend their days lobbing digital Molotov cocktails at each other, making sure the inferno of stupidity never burns out.
And if you’re determined to pin this on specific birth cohorts, then let’s not mince words: all generations share the blame. Generation Z and Generation A? A legion of perpetually offended infants who mistake hashtag activism for real achievement. Millennials? Overly sensitive edgelords and spoiled brats, produced by Gen Xers who were too busy sulking in their own post-boomer bitterness to teach resilience, and enabled by the indulgent older generations who pretended that showering them with worthless praise and passing them smartphones would somehow offset the Boomer-made crises scalding the planet. Boomers themselves, still clinging to life thanks to modern medicine and an utter refusal to exit the stage gracefully, persist in hoarding resources, vomit forth their antiquated value systems, and do their utmost to ensure that every ensuing generation is saddled with debt, polluted air, and an economic landscape as barren as their moral imagination.
None of these generational tribes is innocent. The global human population, expanded and interlinked like never before, continues to ignore science, deride empirical evidence, trash the environment, and generally behave like a lemming colony sprinting toward the nearest cliff. Meanwhile, reproductive habits remain locked in some medieval pattern of “breed first, think never,” further straining resources and exacerbating divisions. In short, everyone shoulders a portion of the blame—no generation or ideology gets to hide behind a tired historical reference or a cherished TV show. It’s time to own up to this grotesque collective failure instead of flinging blame and shrieking in self-righteous indignation.

Another day in "#PANDEMIC" to the point where I'm not going crazy all the time. Spending a lot of time with the family. Last two weeks have been really stress full encountering people. I get that everyone is stressed and going stir crazy but it's #noexvusetoabuseothers. It's just asanine that people are just this bloody callous. There's a difference between being a child at minor inconvience or being discriminated against. As a gender #minority and a member of a #oppressedgroup I can only add my salt and sarcasm to the rest of the population who lacks privilege. But, I mean, the level of selfishness I'm experiencing is just sad. So many #okayboomers and #surekaren pass behind my eyes. I was raised by boomers and the amount of times I run into a #karen from any generation is just overwhelming. I mean hell, we had a kid swear at us cuz he didn't get worms. Oh no, I'm so sorry you couldn't fucking just ask and wait a second. So it's just old folks. It's stupid, whiny, assholes who have to take their shit out on me and others in the #disposableworkforce. If it werent for my family, friends, and my #girlfriend I would not be in a good place right now. Recovery from a day of work is much longer than before. On my days off I try to do things to recovery and also do some aerobics. Half the time I collapse within thirty minutes of getting home. Late night has become my perferred time to cook and clean these days. I am trying to recover as best I can and fight the #depression and #mania that comes now and then. So far, the childishness of customers had decreased with each passing week. But there are still moments where I wish people would take a step back and stop being so selfish. #transisbeautiful #girlslikeus #gay #gaygirl #dykelife #dykes #bigdykeenergy #gaylife #corona #theplague #retail #retaillife #fuckkarens (at Mount Vernon, Washington) https://www.instagram.com/p/CA9Er6yp9gF/?igshid=1skn9xr08gclh

Becoming Unraveled: neighborhood bits
Intro:
By my handle, you can see I am a “Boomer.”  However, before you say to yourself  “okay Boomer,” please give me a chance! (Or, say it and still give me a chance.)
Although a “Tumblr Virgin,” I have been here previously as “myself” via a Word Press link. You are invited to partake as I share anecdotes from a crazy era, while hiding behind anonymity to protect those that may be embarrassed or disturbed by my revelations.
Join me as I share anecdotes from the past via this blog series while unraveling a mystery!
Yes, it is true:
Us “Boomers” were beaten, ran around in packs with zero supervision, had mercury put on our cuts, assaulted each other, had our mouths washed out with soap if we cursed, were told the opposite sex had “germs,” could buy cigarettes from a vending machine or with a note written by a parent, rode two to a bicycle and  were encouraged to  hit someone if they “made us mad.” The aforementioned is just a sampling, but it gives a picture of how messed up we are/were!
Tumblr media
However...
We wore our “Sunday Best” and attended church 1-3 times a week .It was “swearing” if we said “fart, ass or hell. “ We did not dare stand up for ourselves against our parents or teachers, as that resulted in a paddling. “Yes mam” and “no sir” were commonly used and adults were referred to by “Mr. or Mrs.” followed by surname. Our families were the picture of wholesomeness!
Tumblr media
Our moms...
In my neighborhood, a mom working fulltime was an anomaly. Weekday afternoons were often spent with strict orders for us to “play outside” while moms met in clusters to smoke, play cards and drink coffee or booze. Once a week they got their “hair done,” and wore delicate scarves over their “do” outside to keep it in place. There  were were always many ashtrays laying about filled with red lipstick embossed cigarette butts.  On the occasions the moms did not meet up, they watched their “stories”  on television and told us to “hush.”  Before our dads came home from work, there was a quick sweep of the home to tidy up and begin cooking dinner, thus giving the impression of a day filled with domesticity.
Uppers and Booze....
“Diet Pills” were very common among our moms. They were actually prescribed amphetamines!  When the Rolling Stones sang “Mothers Little Helper,” we understood  the reference!
Tumblr media
As for booze, pregnant women were encouraged to indulge to calm their “nerves.” I think many of us Boomers have Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. It was considered very unsociable to turn down a proffered  beverage. My parents were thrown out of a party by a relative when my mom refused a second drink. That relative never spoke to them again!
Our dads...
We were to be quiet around our dads because they “worked.” They sat in recliners as we  waited on them while they watched tv and barked orders. For the most part, the dads in our neighborhood were jovial. The ones that were not  could be heard yelling from several houses away at their wives. Those were the homes we avoided.
Dads and Divorcees
Eventually, the “yelling dads” left their wives for other women.  The abandoned wives were viewed scornfully, as they could not “keep their men.” They were  called “divorcees” and suspected to be on  the prowl for married men.  It was exciting  for me to visit the home of  “divorcees.”  One divorcee that was friends with my dad fascinated me, as she had a gravely voice, chain smoked and had no children.. My mom had nothing nice to say about her and said my dad had “wet dreams” about her. (Of course I had no clue what any of that meant.)  As my dad was a non judgemental fellow, I truly think he visited his divorced friend out of kindness.
The Mystery I am unraveling....
Stay tuned! I am still formulating thoughts and processing some news.

Age, Health, and the American Political Landscape: An In-Depth Analysis Introduction
Tumblr media
In a shocking incident, Mitch McConnell, the Senate Majority Leader, appears to have suffered a neurological episode during a public event. The septuagenarian remained frozen for almost 30 seconds and had to be escorted away from the podium. McConnell is one of many elderly individuals who occupy high positions in the US government. This raises an essential question about the intersection of age, health, and leadership in American politics.
The Perils of Aging Leadership
Elderly politicians like McConnell, Nancy Pelosi, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden dominate the American political sphere. It's not to say these individuals aren't competent or effective, but one cannot ignore the undeniable fact that aging has physiological and psychological implications.
As individuals age, they face increased risk of health issues like dementia, senility, and various other chronic illnesses. These conditions can impair cognitive function, decision-making capabilities, and overall performance, especially under the stress of high-profile leadership roles. Despite this, there is no provision for term limits or cognitive acuity tests for public servants beyond a certain age, a striking oversight considering the potential implications for policy-making and governance.
The Politics of Ageism
Criticizing the prevalence of elderly individuals in positions of power can be misconstrued as ageism. But it's not a matter of discrimination or bias; it's a matter of pragmatism and rationality. Leaders should be in a position, both physically and mentally, to withstand the pressures of office, make sound decisions, and effectively lead their constituents. It's not to say that younger individuals are inherently better leaders, but they are less likely to suffer from age-related health issues that could compromise their effectiveness.
The Consequences of Outdated Perspectives
Many of these elderly leaders cling to antiquated ideas and ideologies that no longer resonate with a rapidly evolving society. The world we live in is not the same as it was decades ago when these individuals began their political careers. Society evolves, and so should its leaders. This is not a call to disregard the wisdom and experience that comes with age, but rather an appeal to ensure our leaders are in touch with the realities and demands of the present day.
The Need for Change
The incident involving McConnell underscores the need for reform. It's high time we implemented term limits and cognitive assessments for politicians, especially those in high office. This is not only to ensure their well-being but also to safeguard the interests of the American public. We should elect leaders who are physically and mentally fit to bear the burdens of office and represent the diverse and dynamic population they serve.
It's an uncomfortable conversation, but it's a necessary one. The issue isn't about age—it's about the ability to lead effectively, make sound decisions, and navigate the complexities of a rapidly changing world. It's about ensuring that our leaders are equipped to confront the challenges of the 21st century with vitality, intellectual acuity, and an informed understanding of contemporary realities. It's about safeguarding the future of the American political landscape.

If you're mad bc boomers took away your legal right to live your life how you want by buying tobacco/nicotine related products but you're now considered "underaged", then here's a petition for you to sign.

So, this poor old man was just trying to enter a contest, but it still killed me. Then ANOTHER old person ignored instructions and did it exactly the same way. I'm just impressed they're on Twitter at all.
