doll!reader pulls a prank on bf!rafe by wiping off his kisses, but he isn't in the mood for her shenanigans
doll!reader mlist
cw: arguing, explicit language, anger issues, rafe feeling guilty after
it was quiet at your house, everyone else gone, leaving just you and rafe. the silence wasn't lonely, thoughâit felt intimate. you and rafe were curled up under the covers of your queen-size bed, watching some action movie that rafe swore was a classic.
he insisted you had to see this one, talking it up like it was a masterpiece, but honestly, he was more interested in spending time with you. "i swear, this part's iconic," he said with excitement, gesturing toward the screen.
but you only hummed in response, your focus somewhere else entirelyâyou were too focused on your master plan. youâd spent all day waiting for the perfect moment to pull the prank you'd seen on tiktok, and now was your chance.
when he got up to use the bathroom, you felt a rush of adrenaline. quickly but quietly, you grabbed your phone and propped it on the nightstand. your hands were almost shaking from excitement as you made sure the bed was perfectly in frame. smirking to yourself, you slipped back into your bed, pretending the movie had you hooked.
rafe returned a moment later, his buzzed hair slightly sticking up from running his hand through it. he flopped back onto the bed, throwing an arm around your shoulders.
"miss me?" he teased, pressing a kiss to your temple. "always," you replied sweetly, leaning up to kiss him on the lips. it was a soft, lingering kiss, and rafe smiled into it, forgetting about everything that had been weighing on him.
he loved moments like thisâwhen he felt close to you, like nothing else in the world existed. but then, just as casually, you turned back to the movie and wiped your lips with the back of your hand.
rafe froze. his brow furrowing as confusion and irritation crept in. "uhh, did you just wipe your mouth?" he asked, sounding almost offended.
"what?" you asked innocently, your eyes glued to the screen. but on the inside you were smiling. "you just kissed me and then... fucking wiped it off," he said slowly, trying to process what he'd just seen.
"i don't know what you're talking about," you replied nonchalantly, shrugging. rafe's lips pressed into a thin line. âokay." he said, eyeing you suspiciously. then without warning, he leaned in, cupping your cheek and kissing you again. this time, it was more intense, almost eagerâlike he was trying to make a point.
you almost broke character, but you held it together. you kissed him back, soft and sweet, and just when rafe started to relax, you turned your head and wiped your lips again.
"what the fuck?" he exclaimed, sitting up straighter and staring at you like you'd just committed a crime. "are you serious right now?"
"what?" you asked, feigning confusion, though your lips twitched as you tried to hold back a smile. "youâre wiping my kisses off, y/n! what you doin' that shit for?"
"i am not!" you said, trying to look offended. "you are! you did it just seconds ago." he pointed an accusing finger at your lips. "you don't like kissing me now?"
that did it. you couldn't hold back your laughter anymore, giggling uncontrollably at his growing frustration. rafe felt his patience snap like a rubber band stretched too tight. the stress he'd been holding at bay all day came rushing back. "this isn't funny!" he said, crossing his arms like a sulking child, âwhy are you acting weird?"
still laughing, you reached for your phone and stopped the recording, holding it up to show him. "youâve been pranked, ray!" you giggled, unable to contain your amusement.
rafe stared at your phone, then back at you, his jaw tightening. it took a second for the words to sink in, and when they did, rafeâs stomach twisted. "wait. you were filming this shit?" he asked, sounding more annoyed. "yea," you admitted, grinning satisfied.
"itâs for tiktok, baby. you should've seen your face. it was actually hilarious!" rafe sat up straighter, running a hand over his buzzed head as he glared at you. "youâre not posting that," he said flatly. "oh, come on, it's funny!" you replied, still laughing.
"no," rafe snapped, crossing his arms. "iâm serious, y/n. youâre not posting that shit. if you do, iâll delete that fucking tiktok app off your phone myself."
the humor in the situation dimmed as his seriousness sank in. your grin faltered, and you frowned at him. "why are you taking this so seriously? itâs just a funny trend!"
"because it's embarrassing," he shot back, clearly still annoyed. "you don't need to show everyone me looking like an idiot." the argument escalated quickly. rafe could feel the tension in his chest building.
"you weren't even an idiot!" you countered, throwing your hands up. "youâre being way too dramatic about this. honestly, you're acting like a little bitch right now."
rafeâs jaw tightened as soon as you threw out your little comment at him, "what?" his day had already been hell. meetings with his dad had turned into lectures, and work had felt like an uphill battle from the second he walked through the door this morning. so you acting up now as well got him on the verge loosing it.
"you heard me," you replied, not fully grasping how close he was to losing his temper. "youâre being ridiculous over a silly video, rafe."
"oh, i'm ridiculous?" his voice rose, his ocean-blue eyes narrowing as he got off the bed. "iâm the one being ridiculous?" he huffed. "yea, you are!god, you can't take a joke," you shot back, crossing your arms.
rafe shook his head, pacing the room. "youâve got some nerve, y/n," he muttered under his breath. "oh, spare me," you said, rolling your eyes. "what are you gonna do, fucking cry about it all night?"
that was the last straw. rafe stormed over to your side of the bed, grabbed your phone, and without thinking, threw it across the room. the phone hit the wall with a loud thud before clattering to the floor. you froze, your eyes wide with shock. "are you serious, rafe?"
as soon as it happened, regret hit him like a tidal wave. your shocked expression, the way your shoulders stiffened, the tears that welled in your eyesâit all felt like a punch to the gut.
the room fell into a heavy silence, broken only by the sound of your sharp breaths as you rushed over to inspect the damage. your chest tightened when you saw the shattered screen, panic shooting through you.
"what the fuck is wrong with you?" you yelled, as you scrambled to pick up your phone. rafe immediately realized what he had done, his face falling. "shit, i-i didn't mean to-."
"you didn't mean to?" you cut him off, holding up the pieces of your broken display. "look at this, rafe! you like destroying my shit?"
"I'm sorry, baby. I wasn't thinking-"
"clearly!" you cried out, your voice cracking. "you weren't thinking at all! god, you're such an asshole." rafe carefully stepped closer, reaching out to you, desperate, "baby please, don't cry. i'll fix it. i'll get you a new one, i swear."
"get out," you snapped, shoving his hand away. "what?" rafeâs stomach dropped at your words. "I said get out, rafe," you repeated, your voice cold. "i can't even look at you right now."
"please, i'm sorry!" he pleaded. "i'll make it right. just-" but you weren't having it. "out!" you screamed, pointing to the door, tears streaming down your face.
he hesitated for a moment, looking like he wanted to fight you on it, but the look in your eyes stopped him. shoulders slumping, he finally left, the door slamming shut behind him.
for the next hour, rafe couldn't sit still. the weight of what he'd done pressed down on him, suffocating. he hated himself for losing control, for ruining the peace he'd found with you. he never wanted to become this person again, but sometimes it was hard not to fall back into his old habits.
finally, he grabbed his keys and drove to the store, his mind racing. when he returned to your house, he stood outside your door for a long moment, the weight of the new phone and bouquet of roses feeling inadequate in his hands. but he had to try.
"baby, it's me," he called softly from the other side. you didn't respond, but after another minute, the door opened, and rafe stepped in, holding the shiny new iphone in one hand and the massive bouquet of roses in the other.
"iâm sorry," he said immediately, his voice soft and filled with guilt, kneeling down infront of you, your tear-streaked face breaking his heart all over again. "i was an idiot. i shouldn't have done that." you looked up at him, still sniffling. "you think flowers and a new phone are going to fix this?"
"no," he admitted, setting them down on the bed beside you. "but i'm really fucking sorry. i hate seeing you upsetâespecially because of me." you sighed, wiping your eyes and glaring at him. "rafe, you can't just lose your temper like that. this isn't okay."
"i know," he said, his head dropping. "and i'm sorry. i'll do better, i promise. i don't want to mess this up. i don't want to mess us up."
for a long moment, you just stared at him, he thought you might tell him to leave again but then your expression softened slightly. "you really need to get your shit together, ray," you said finally, your voice sweeter now.
he looked up at you, his ocean-blue eyes full of regret and something softerâadoration. "i swear i'll get it together, doll. no more tantrums, no more throwing phones. i love you."
"you better mean that," you said, placing your hand on his cheek and stroking it gently. "i do," he promised, leaning into your touch. and he did mean itâbecause losing you wasn't an option.
and while you were still a little bit mad at rafe, you couldn't help but forgive himâbecause, at the end of the day, even though he was an asshole sometimes, he was your asshole.

Valentine's day
(a/n): okay. I know i am VERY late, but to arrive late is better than not arriving. So... Forgive me?
Characters: Atsushi, Fukuzawa, Dazai, Fyodor, Mori, Chuuya, Ranpo, Poe, Nikolai.
Warnings: use of y/n. This took me too long but mostly because i had writing block while writing it (which was a month ago? Or two?) then i had to drag myself to continue it.
Nakajima atsushi
Valentineâs Day at the Armed Detective Agency was⊠chaotic.
Not that you were expecting anything less.
You had no real plans for the day. romance wasnât exactly your forte. You were more of a âwait until the 15th and buy discounted chocolateâ kind of person. But apparently, Ranpo had figured that out.
And that was a mistake.
âYouâre telling me,â he said, eyes gleaming like he had just solved the worldâs greatest mystery, âthat you, didnât think ahead about Valentineâs Day? How tragic.â
You groaned, burying your face in your scarf. âLeave me alone. Itâs a capitalist trap.â
Ranpo took a slow, exaggerated bite of the expensive chocolate he had somehow acquired (probably by guilting Kunikida into buying it for him). âOoooh, Kunikidaâs gonna lecture you again.â
And just as he said that-
âY/N!â
You flinched.
There he was. Kunikida Doppo, standing in the doorway, arms crossed, looking every bit like a disappointed teacher about to give a very long lecture.
âAs a member of the Agency, you should have at least some consideration for your coworkers,â he scolded. âValentineâs Day is about appreciation, not just romance.â
You nodded. âUnderstood.â
Kunikida blinked. â...Wait. Really?â
âYeah,â you said, already sidestepping toward the exit, âIâll write you all a heartfelt letter about how much I appreciate you later. Sound good? Okay, bye-â
âcome back here-!â
You turned too fast and crashed right into Atsushi.
âOh!, I was actually looking for you,â he said, rubbing the back of his head awkwardly. âI got you something.â
You blinked. â...For me?â
Atsushi held out a small box of chocolates, tied with a golden ribbon.
âWell⊠yeah,â he said, smiling shyly. âYou always make sure everyoneâs okay, so I figured you deserved something too.â
Your heart melted a little. âThatâs-â You shook your head. âAtsushi, thatâs unfair. Now I feel bad for not getting you anything.â
âNo, no! Itâs not about that,â he said quickly. âI just wanted to. You donât owe me anything.â
You stared at him for a moment before smiling softly. â...Thank you.â
And thatâs when it happened.
From across the room, Dazai smirked.
âHow sweet,â he teased. âCiel, did you just get a confession?â
You choked on your own words. âI- NO. Dazai, stop.â
Atsushi, now bright red, waved his hands wildly. âI didnât mean it like that!â
Dazai, clearly enjoying the chaos, dramatically clutched his chest. âAh, young love! So pure, so fleeting-â
Ranpo, still munching on chocolate, leaned over. âTen bucks says Kunikida tries to shut him up in the next five minutes.â
You scoffed. âTwo minutes.â
And sure enough.
âDAZAI, GET BACK TO WORK.â
Fukuzawa Yukichi
Look. It wasnât that you didnât want to give President Fukuzawa something for Valentineâs Day. You just⊠didnât know what.
I mean, what do you give someone so wise, composed, and effortlessly cool?
You couldnât just hand him some cheap chocolates and call it a day.
âJust write him a letter,â Atsushi had suggested.
âOr get him cat-themed tea,â Ranpo had added with his usual knowing smirk. âHeâll love it.â
And that was how you ended up standing outside Fukuzawaâs office, holding a neatly wrapped box of cat-shaped tea bags (shoutout to Yosano for the shopping advice) and a small letter.
You hesitated.
What if this was weird? What if this was too much? What if he thought you were trying too hard?
Before you could spiral any further, the door slid open.
Fukuzawa looked down at you, calm as always. ây/n?â
You straightened up. âHappy Valentineâs Day, sir.â
His gaze shifted to the gift in your hands. âFor me?â
âUh⊠yeah.â You hesitated before handing it over. âItâs nothing special, just some tea. And, um, a letter. You donât have to read it or anything-â
Fukuzawa accepted the gift with a small nod. âThank you.â
You exhaled. âOh. Cool. Okay.â
You turned to leave when-
âI will read it.â
You froze. âHuh?â
Fukuzawa regarded you thoughtfully. âYou are an expressive person. If you took the time to write something, it must have meaning.â
Oh.
Your face suddenly felt warm. âI- Uh- Yeah, I guess so.â
For a moment, there was silence. Then, in an uncharacteristically soft tone, he added:
âI appreciate your thoughtfulness.â
âŠ
Did you just get praised by the President of the Armed Detective Agency?!
Atsushi and Kunikida found you five minutes later, sitting in the hallway, staring into space.
âShe looks like she just saw a mythical creature,â Atsushi whispered.
âShe basically did,â Ranpo replied, grinning.
Dazai Osamu
You messed up.
The second you hesitated in front of Dazaiâs desk, you sealed your fate. Because that was all the invitation he needed to turn your day into a performance.
âOhhh?â His eyes lit up with the thrill of chaos. âCould it be? y/n-chan, are you giving me a Valentineâs gift?â
And that was when you knew.
You were done for.
âNo,â you deadpanned.
âWhatâs that in your hand, then?â
âNothing.â
Dazai gasped. Full, dramatic, hand-to-chest levels of betrayal. âA confession?! Oh, Ciel, Iâm flattered! But you should know, my heart belongs to the endless embrace of-â
âItâs chocolate, Dazai.â
He stopped mid-monologue. Just froze.
âEh?â
With the patience of someone who had long accepted their suffering, you dropped the small box onto his desk.
âItâs just chocolate. Because itâs Valentineâs Day. And because if I didnât get you something, youâd be insufferable about it.â
Dazai picked up the box, turning it over in his hands like it held the secrets of the universe. âSo this is how much I mean to you, huh?â
âDo you want it or not?â
âOh, I want it.â His smirk returned, far too pleased with himself. âI just didnât expect you to be so boldâ
You saw red. âI swear to God-â
âDid you put poison in it?â
âNo, but I should have.â
âAh, how cruel!â He collapsed against his desk like a tragic widow. âTo think, my dear Ciel-chan, the one person I trusted, has betrayed me soââ
So you threw a piece of chocolate at his forehead.
It hit with a satisfying thud.
âJust eat it and shut up.â
And that should have been the end of it.
But then, Dazai looked at you, a real smile tugging at his lips.
Not the teasing kind. Not the act.
A small, genuine one.
âThank you.â
âŠAnd for some reason-
That threw you off way more than the flirting.
Fyodor Dostoevsky
You werenât sure why you were doing this.
Maybe it was curiosity. Maybe it was stupidity. Maybe it was some self-destructive impulse that made you think, Wouldnât it be interesting to see how Fyodor Dostoevsky reacts to a Valentineâs gift?
So now you were here. In a dimly lit room. Sitting across from him.
Fyodor watched you with an unreadable expression, fingers tapping lightly against his teacup. âA gift? For me?â
His voice was smooth, polite-like he already knew your intentions and was simply indulging you.
You cleared your throat and placed a small box on the table. âYeah. Itâs⊠nothing special. Just chocolate.â
A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. âAh. How thoughtful.â
He picked up the box, examining it with unsettling amusement. âTell me,â he mused, violet eyes gleaming, âis this an act of goodwill? Or do you simply wish to see how I would respond?â
You hesitated. Damn it. He saw through you so fast.
âI meanâŠâ You leaned back, crossing your arms. âMaybe both.â
Fyodor chuckled. âHonest. How refreshing.â
He unwrapped the box with deliberate slowness, as if savoring the moment. âYou intrigue me,â he admitted, plucking one of the chocolates between his fingers. âA human with a unique power⊠yet you walk willingly into the lionâs den.â
You raised an eyebrow. âAre you saying youâre the lion?â
He smiled. a slow, knowing smile. âAnd what else would I be?â
Oh.
Oh.
You suddenly felt very, very aware of the fact that you had voluntarily given Fyodor Dostoevsky a Valentineâs gift. This was probably a bad idea.
He took a bite of the chocolate, his gaze never leaving yours. Then, tilting his head slightly, he asked:
âTell me, ⊠do you believe in fate?â
Your pulse quickened. âThat depends,â you said carefully. âAre you about to make me regret this?â
Fyodor chuckled again, slow and deliberate. âPerhaps,â he murmured. âOr perhaps⊠this is just the beginning.â
You swallowed. Yeah. This was definitely a bad idea.
Mori Ougai
You would never give Mori Ougai a Valentineâs gift. Ever.
It wasnât even about him being the leader of the Port Mafia-hell, youâd already given Fyodor chocolate, and he was arguably worse. No, Mori was just⊠dangerous in a different way.
The kind of dangerous that smiled too kindly while pulling the strings behind the scenes.
So imagine your absolute horror when you walked into your regular café, to your daily table and found a beautifully wrapped gift box waiting for you.
With a card.
Signed: Mori Ougai.
âŠYou stared.
No. No, no, no. This was bad.
You immediately turned on your heel-only to find Mori standing right behind you.
âGoing somewhere, y/n-chan?â he asked pleasantly.
You barely stopped yourself from jumping. âNope.â
Mori smiled. Too kindly. âI heard you were handing out gifts today, so I thought I should return the favor.â
ââŠI didnât give you anything.â
âNot yet.â
You narrowed your eyes. âIâm never giving you anything.â
Mori sighed dramatically. âAh, so cruel. Even after I went through all this trouble?â
Your gaze flicked to the box. Suspicious. âIs it poisoned?â
He chuckled. âNow, now, what kind of man do you take me for?â
âThe exact kind who would absolutely poison a gift.â
Mori only laughed. âItâs nothing dangerous, I promise. Just a small token of my appreciation.â
Yeah, right. That sounded ten times worse.
ââŠAppreciation for what?â
âFor being so interesting, of course.â His smile widened. Too wide. âI do hope we continue to cross paths.â
You picked up the box like it might explode.
âGreat. Thatâs definitely not ominous.â
Mori simply chuckled, stepping away. âHappy Valentineâs Day, my dear.â
You decided right then and there that you were never opening that box.
Nakahara Chuuya
You had debated this for days.
Giving Chuuya Nakahara a Valentineâs gift? Risky.
He wasnât exactly the romantic type... well, not in the cheesy way, at least. And honestly? You werenât even sure if heâd want chocolate from you.
But after hours of overthinking, you finally decided: screw it.
Worst case scenario? Heâd mock you and move on.
Best case scenario? âŠWell, you werenât sure yet.
So here you were, standing outside Mafia HQ, clutching a small bag of premium dark chocolate truffles and second-guessing your entire existence.
Before you could change your mind, the door swung open.
Chuuya stepped out.
And paused immediately when he saw you.
You blinked. ââŠOh.â
He frowned. âWhat are you doing here?â
âI-â You hesitated, then just shoved the bag at him. âHere.â
Chuuya looked down at it, confused. âWhat the hell is this?â
âItâs-â You sighed, rubbing your forehead. âItâs chocolate, okay? For Valentineâs Day.â
Chuuya stared.
Then, slowly, his lips curled into an amused smirk.
âWell, well,â he drawled, taking the bag. âDidnât take you for the type to hand out gifts.â
You groaned. âIf youâre gonna make this weird-â
âNah.â He shook his head, opening the bag and popping a truffle into his mouth.
Immediately, his eyes widened.
ââŠShit. This is actually good.â
You crossed your arms. âOf course it is.â
Chuuya chewed thoughtfully, then glanced at you. Something unreadable flickered in his gaze.
ââŠTch.â He looked away, a little flustered. âThanks, I guess.â
You blinked. âWait, did you just-â
âI swear to god, donât make a big deal out of it.â
You grinned. âYou totally just-â
âShut up.â
You laughed, watching as he pointedly refused to meet your eyes.
For someone so tough.
He sure was easy to fluster.
Ranpo Edogawa
You should have known this would happen.
Giving Ranpo Edogawa chocolate on Valentineâs Day? That was practically signing up to be made fun of for the rest of your life.
But at this point, youâd already given chocolate to Dazai, Chuuya and Fyodor (questionable life choices). What was one more?
So you marched up to Ranpoâs desk, dropped the small box of sweets in front of him, and crossed your arms.
âHere.â
Ranpo didnât even glance up from his snacks. âOho? A bribe?â
âItâs Valentineâs Day, you idiot.â
He finally looked up, grinning like the little menace he was. âSo⊠a confession?â
You rolled your eyes so hard you saw the ceiling. âItâs just chocolate. Donât make this weird.â
Ranpo picked up the box, turning it in his hands with a thoughtful hum. His green eyes twinkled like he was already three steps ahead of you.
âHmmm⊠I already knew you were gonna give me some, of course.â
âSure you did.â
âI did! After all, Iâm the greatest detective in the world.â
You smirked, leaning forward. Oh, you were gonna enjoy this.
âOkay then, Mr. Detective.â You crossed your arms. âWhat flavor is it?â
Ranpo blinked.
You saw the exact moment the gears in his head stuttered.
ââŠWhat?â
âYou heard me.â Your smirk widened. âIf youâre sooo smart, you should already know what kind of chocolate it is.â
He squinted at the box like it might reveal its secrets if he stared hard enough. Then-without breaking eye contact. he popped the box open and ate one.
âHazelnut.â
Your jaw dropped. âYou-â
âSee?â He grinned, smug as hell. âTold you I knew.â
âYOU JUST TASTED IT.â
âStill counts.â
You groaned, resisting every violent urge in your body.
âI shouldâve given it to Kunikida instead.â
Ranpo was already reaching for another chocolate. âNah. You like me too much for that.â
You did not dignify that with a response.
Edgar Allen Poe
You hadnât originally planned to give Poe a Valentineâs gift.
Not because you didnât like him. Poe was actually one of your favorite people. It was just that⊠well, you werenât sure if he even cared about Valentineâs Day.
But then you thought about how happy heâd look if he received a gift.
And, well⊠how could you resist?
So you made your way to a quiet, dimly lit corner of Yokohamaâs library, where Poe usually hid away to write. You found him at his usual table, Karl curled up beside him, as he scribbled something in an old notebook.
You placed a carefully wrapped package in front of him.
Poe jumped slightly, blinking up at you. ây/n?â
You grinned. âValentineâs gift.â
There was a long pause.
Then-
âKarl! She brought me something!â
You barely had time to react before Poe snatched the package with surprising speed, unwrapping it as if it held some ancient secret.
Inside was a beautifully bound, leather-cover notebook with delicate gold-embossed edges.
Poe froze.
His hands trembled slightly as he picked it up, eyes scanning every little detail. âThis isâŠâ His voice was almost a whisper.
âI figured you might like a new notebook,â you said, shrugging. âYâknow, for all your writing.â
Poe slowly looked up at you.
You blinked.
Was he⊠tearing up?
ââŠPoe?â
âThis is the most thoughtful gift I have ever received,â he declared dramatically, clutching the notebook to his chest. Karl squeaked in agreement.
You chuckled, shaking your head. âGlad you like it.â
Poe nodded furiously, then froze-as if remembering something important.
âWait here!â He rummaged through his bag, then returned holding a small, carefully wrapped package.
âFor me?â you asked, surprised.
Poe nodded eagerly. âKarl and I prepared it just in case!â
You opened the package to find a collection of beautifully handwritten short stories, bound together in a small book. The title page read:
âTo y/n, A Collection of Mysteries & Dreams.â
Your breath hitched. âPoeâŠâ
He flushed slightly. âI, um⊠I hope you like it.â
You grinned, holding the book close. âI love it.â
Karl climbed onto your shoulder, squeaking happily.
Best Valentineâs exchange ever.
Nikolai Gogol
You knew something was wrong the second you stepped into the Agency.
Everyone was staring at you. Some with curiosity. Others cough Kunikida cough with visible irritation.
You blinked. âUh⊠what?â
Dazai smirked, nudging you forward. âWhy donât you check your desk, (Y/N)-chan?â
A sinking feeling settled in your gut.
Slowly, you turned-
And froze.
Because sitting on your desk was a massive, gift-wrapped box with a tag that read:
âTo My Dearest, From Your Secret Admirer (Guess Who~!)â
You felt actual fear.
âNo.â You turned to the others. âI am not opening that.â
Ranpo, casually eating a snack, snickered. âSmart choice.â
Before you could destroy the box yourself, the lid burst open-
And out popped Nikolai Gogol.
âSURPRISE, MOYA LUBOOOOV!â he sang, arms spread wide.
You screamed. Kunikida almost had a stroke.
Nikolai cackled, hopping out of the box. âDid you like my present, my dear? A gift from the heart- ME!â
You stared at him in horror. âGet back in the box.â
âAw, but I worked so hard on this!â He spun dramatically. âI even thought about filling it with doves-maybe a few fireworks, but apparently, thatâs âtoo dangerous indoorsâ or whatever.â
âYou-â You pinched the bridge of your nose. âWhat do you even want?â
Nikolai grinned. âJust your reaction, of course! And to see if youâd join my villain arc!â
You crossed your arms. âHard pass.â
Nikolai pouted. âBooooring.â Then, with a snap of his fingers, he vanished.
You sighed in exhaustion.
Then, from somewhere above you, his voice echoed:
âCheck under your desk, love~!â
You did not. You simply walked away.

Valerie/Steph, Black, Solstice, Lavender @elizabethemerald
This ship got put on the list cause of @bloggerspam's mechanic Val who works for Jason fic. That and we need more wlw ships.
âThis is your favorite coffee shop?â
Steph glanced at Danny, confused. There was a weird note to his voice which, what the fuck? It was just a coffee shop. Sure it was the coffee shop with the most amazing barista ever working at it and Steph it would be Stephâs favorite even if the drinks werenât also amazing, but it was still a coffee shop.
âYeah? Theyâve got really good drinks at it. Like thereâs the normal coffee but they also have these weird flavored things and right now thereâs this lavender honey thingââ
âOh fuck no,â the most amazing hot barista said. She crossed her arms (and seriously, Steph might swoon, those muscles) as she looked right at Danny. âWe had a deal.â
Danny raised his hands like he was being held up. âI did not know that this was where you worked.â
Amazing hot barista hummed dubiously.
âReally!â Danny insisted. âIâm just here for a study group with Steph and this is apparently her favorite place.â
Steph blushed as amazing hot barista focused her attention on Steph. Which was really nice. Doubly nice the way that the baristaâs whole expression softened almost shyly. She reached up and brushed her hair back behind her ear.
âYeah?â
âYeah,â Steph said bashfully. âThe drinks are really good, especially wen you make them.â
Danny let out a soft âoohâ sound and suddenly Steph was being pushed forward towards the counter. âSteph, this is Valarie. An ex, frenemie, and all around absolutely kick ass woman. Sheâs also very pan.â
âDanny!â Amazing hot baristaâer, Valerie exclaimed.
âVal,â Danny said very purposefully. âThis is Steph. Classmate, friend, pre-med, and also a kick ass woman. Go figure! Sheâs also very bi.â
Stephâs blush deepened.
Danny wiggled Steph a little by the shoulders as he ask, âHow about I text you Stephâs number and we totally ignore that I broke out deal of not getting in the middle of your life until you felt settled in Gotham, okay?â
Valerie glanced at Steph. Her own blush just colored her beautiful umber cheeks. âDeal. If, um, thatâs alright with Steph?â
âI have been calling you amazing hot barista in my head,â Steph blurted out. âThat is very alright.â

FYI Buck is absolutely not a fan of Bear. Itâs not ⊠he doesnât do anything to Bear he just ⊠glares at it sometimes when Eddieâs not looking. Makes a point to distract Eddie whenever his attention is on Bear. Gets a sinking feeling in his stomach when he catches Eddie kissing the stain on its forehead. Which happens. A lot.
âItâs weird Eddie keeps bringing Bear to work, right?â Buck asks Hen, who immediately storms into Bobbyâs office and takes leave, âUntil one of those two morons figures it out.â
Bobbyâs not expecting her back anytime soon.
Finally, Eddie has had enough (Buck is nowhere near as subtle as he thinks he is; Eddie literally caught Buck tipping Bear over from where Eddie had him perched in his locker, grinning when Bearâs fluffy white head hits the metal). He grabs Bear out of Buckâs reach and holds Bear to his chest. âWhat is your deal?â
âW-what? I donât have a deal. What are you talking about?â Buckâs full on stink-glaring the stupid bear.
âAre you kidding me?â Eddie groans. âThank god Bear canât play basketball; I donât think my ankle can take another sprain.â
Finally, Buckâs eyes flick upward. âHuh?â
âYouâre jealous of my damn stuffie, Buck.â
He scoffs. âIâm not jealous.â
âOh yeah? Then whatâs with that?â Eddie jerks his chin at the red bear with a Mexican flag on it, sitting with his tiny little head poking out from Buckâs duffel. âYou mean to tell me Chris went to Pennsylvania and brought back your childhood toy, too?â
âHuh?â Buck frowns.
âChris found Bear in my old bedroom back in El Paso and brought him. Said he looked lonely there, and then, he said,â Eddie flushes, âhe asked me to bring Bear to work, because he said I looked lonely, too. Thatâs it, okay? The whole story. Can you please get over yourself and whatever it is youâre doing with Bear 2.0 over there?â
Bearâs head flops over to one side, his gaze up at Buck tilted like heâs also asking, âWhatâs your problem?â
My problem is a damn stuffed bear, Buck thinks.
Itâs possible heâs being a little ridiculous. âOso,â he says.
âOso?â
âThatâs my bearâs name.â
Eddie nods. âOkay. Nice to meet you, Oso,â he says to the bear. He hopes that settles things.
It gets weirder.
Eddie starts finding Oso next to Bear in his locker when they come back from calls. One time he catches Buck putting Osoâs arm around Bear.
Eddie doesnât say anything.
Hen does, eventually, come back. Buck catches her glaring at where heâs got Oso cradling Bearâs head in his tiny furry lap. Okay, yeah, itâs possible heâs gotten a little into this. Eddie still hasnât said anything but sometimes he looks at how Oso and Bear are cuddling with this glint in his eyes.
Eventually, Hen throws a fit when Buck gives Oso a tiny little mustache.
âOh my god,â she turns to Buck, âEddie wants to gently kiss you on your birthmark,â then, Eddie, âand Buck wants to gently hold you whenever you feel lonely. You two are in love. In love!â she shouts.
She turns to Chim. âI donât care if I lose the bet at this point; Iâm going to lose my sanity if these two donât fuck it out, missionary style while staring into each otherâs eyes whispering how much they love one another. Iâm a lesbian and what they are doing with those damn bears has been so much gayer than anything Iâve ever witnessed.â
Chimâs nodding. âOh, yeah. No, I was giving myself one more shift before I locked all four of them in a supply closet and stated playing Careless Whisper on my phone. Slipping condoms under the door until one of them sends back a wrapper.â
âGross,â Hen says.
Chim winces. âNot as gross as what Iâm looking at, now.â
When she turns, she sees Buck lifting Osoâs right paw, making it gently caress the side of Bearâs face. Their black plastic noses make a tiny clicking sound as Eddie and Buck make their bears kiss.
Henâs gonna request a transfer.
What if Eddie got a beanie baby for Christmas one year and itâs dumb because stuffed animals are for girls and Eddieâs the Man of the House but secretly he likes his little white bear with the heart on his chest. He cuts the tag off it and his mom yells at him because theyâre supposed to be worth a lot of money someday but secretly Eddieâs glad he did it. If the bear isnât worth anything but the joy he brings to Eddie then maybe heâll get to keep it. He does, eventually, forget about the bear. Or, he puts him on a shelf when he enters high school because high school boys donât sleep with toys and maybe thereâs some nights he sees the bear on his shelf and he thinks it might be nice to hold him but he doesnât.
The first time Shannon comes into his bedroom she immediately sees the bear. âWhoâs this little guy?â she teases and Eddie gets irrationally angry seeing it in her hands. âMy stupid sisters leaving their stupid toys in my room,â he says, grabbing it out of her hands and throwing it in his bedside trash can. He waits until sheâs left to fish him out. âIâm sorry, Iâm sorry,â which is dumb, so dumb, that heâs apologizing to a doll, that heâs crying.
Eddie wants to bring the bear with him to Afghanistan but he doesnât. It wouldnât be fair to the bear, no matter what little comfort it might bring to Eddie.
When his mom gives Christopher a stuffed bear after his birth, Eddie stares at the way Chris hugs it to his chest and wonders what would ever make him tear the toy from Chrisâs hands.
Chris finds the stuffed bear when he moves to El Paso. Itâs weird, how he wants it to sit on his nightstand, but not as weird as the tight look his abuela gets when she sees it. âWhere did you find that?â Chris shrugs. âBehind some books in the closet.â Chris becomes fascinated with the bear. He looks it up online. Valentino. Thereâs a little red stain over one eye, maybe someone spilled something on it. He sends a picture to Buck. âHe kind of reminds me of you.â âYeah, Superman! He does! How are you doing?????â Chris doesnât reply.
When Chris is packing up his items to move back to LA, he doesnât think about it when he throws the bear into his suitcase. He puts it on a shelf when he gets back home. Nothing else has changed about his room; his dad kept it exactly the way he left it, so the bear sticks out. âWhereâd you get that?â His dad asks when he sees the bear, his hands are flinching into fists by his side. Chrisâs breath picks up. âYou canât be mad at me for taking him. You obviously didnât want him; you left him behind!â âIâm not mad,â Chrisâs dad lies. âYes, you are. You are!â âOkay! Iâm a little mad!â âWhy?!â
âBecause he was mine!â
Eddie takes a breath. He looks at his son. He loves him so, so, so much. âBecause he was mine,â Eddie says, âbut I wasnât ⊠I never felt like I was allowed to have him.â This time, Chrisâs question comes out softer, more earnest, âWhy?â
Itâs not easy to put into words all the ways the world has shaped Eddie into a form he barely recognizes, but he tries. For his son, heâll always try. At the end, Chris walks over with the bear. He places it in his dadâs hands. âI think you need this more than I do.â
Eddie laughs and thumbs over where his sister spilled cherry koolaid on him the one time he let her play with Bear.
âHe kind of looks like Buck, doesnât he?â
Eddie holds Bear to his chest. He squeezes tightly.
âYeah. He does.â

Platonic Plus One? (Chapter 4)
Paige POV
Pacing back and forth in their room, Paige is trying to wrap her head around how they ended up here. Azzi is taking a shower, so she texted KK, explaining the recent events.Â
KK: man...are you even gonna survive this weekÂ
P boogers: IM FREAKIN TF OUT MAN
KK: nah bro you got this just act like yâall normally do
yâall already seem like youâre dating anyway
P boogers: why did i even text you
KK: bc you a simp in love
Paige throws her phone and flops onto the bed. She must have done something wrong in a past life to deserve this punishment. Maybe it's because she argued with that ref too much last week.Â
Azzi walks out in just a towel and water dripping off her skin and holy shit. It was definitely the ref coming back to torture her.Â
âHey P, what drawer did you put my PJs in?â
âTop right.â Paige sighs and covers her eyes with her arm.Â
âYou sure youâre okay with this, Paige? I really donât want you to be uncomfortable or anything.â Azzi fidgets with the end of her towel. Why does everything she does need to be so cute?
âNo, Az, itâs fine, really. I just donât wanna mess nothing up. Like maybe we need a timeline? Your parents on gonna be on my ass on why we didnât tell them.â
âEasy, you asked me out like 2 months ago, and we were just say we figured they knew,â Azzi says so nonchalantly as if sheâs had this ready her whole life.Â
âWoah, pause. Maybe you asked me out!â
âWho would actually believe that, Paige?âÂ
âOkay, first, rude. Secondly, this was your whole idea to fake date, so you shoulda been the one to ask me out.â
âOkay, fine, I asked you out. No one would believe you made the first move anyway.â
âBro relaaaaaax. I can make a move!â Says the girl who has never tried to make a move on her best friend sheâs been in love with for years.Â
âSure you can, P. Rizz em up.âÂ
âWhatever, dude.â
âAlso, stop calling me dude. Itâs weird to call your girlfriend dude or bro.â
âBut I call like everyone that itâs not weird!âÂ
Azzi glared at Paige hard. âIf I was your girlfriend and you kept calling me dude, youâd be sleeping on the couch.âÂ
Paige put her hands up in defense, âDamn okay. What you wanna be called then?â
âJust like the normal gooey in love stuff like baby. Keep it normal.â
âAight, Princess, as you wish.â
âSee, youâre already being such a good girlfriend! My lil simp.â Paige throws a pillow at Azzi as they laugh. They both get ready for bed before Paige finally finds the courage to ask a question sheâs been dying to know.Â
âSo, uh, like what did you do for our first date?â
Azzi didnât seem caught off guard, just thoughtful. âHmm, Iâd probably bring you to a drive-in theater because youâre weirdly in love with your car and talk too much during movies. Plus you love anything that isn't healthy, so endless popcorn and candy for my girl, of course.â
Paigeâs heart just stopped. My girl. They havenât even had to really pretend theyâre dating yet, and her heart is already stopping. âInsults aside, that actually sounds pretty fun. We should do that when we get back.â
âYou asking me on a date already, Bueckers?â Azzi smirks as she slips into bed.Â
Paige follows after her, rolling her eyes. âYou wish.â They sit in a comfortable silence after turning off the lights. âUh, you know people might think it's weird if there's no PDA. Like, as friends, we are pretty touchy, so I feel like some of your family might expect us to be a little more affectionate.âÂ
âHmm, good point. What are you comfortable with?â
Nothing and everything. âDown for whatever, Az. Like I said, we touch all the time already.â
âHm, okay. So youâre fine holding my hand all the time?â Azzi slips her fingers into Paigeâs hands.Â
âAlready do.âÂ
âOkay,â Azzi smirks in a way Paige knows means trouble. She has to be scheming. Azzi will take any opportunity to mess with Paige. Everyone else sees a confident and put together basketball player, but Azzi sees every side of Paige. Azzi moves her hands around Paigeâs waist, looking down at her. âHow about all the hugging?â
Did this room suddenly get really warm? Thankfully, the lights are off, maybe hiding Paigeâs red cheeks.Â
âI uh m-mean we, yeah we hug a lot.â Theyâre so close at this point that Azzi can probably feel Paigeâs rapid heartbeat.Â
âHow about kissing?â Azzi says softly as she leaned in towards Paige, moving her hands to grasp the hair on the back of her neck. Paige is paralyzed, staring up at Azziâs eyes. Paige tightens her grip on Azziâs waist under her sleep shirt. No sounds can be heard but their soft breathing.
Azziâs smirk grows, knowing she has all the power over Paige. âCareful, Bueckers, you might fall in love with me.â Too late.Â
Paigeâs eyes flicker down to Azziâs lips, and now Azzi was the one to freeze. Theyâre so close, and all Paige needs to do is inch forward the slightest bit. Sheâs imagined kissing Azzi a million times. Imagined what it would feel like and what she would taste like.Â
Azzi audibly gulps when Paige looks back into her eyes. Paige has never seen Azzi like this before, but she likes it.Â
Before either of them thinks it through, they close the gap. They were already so close, it's hard to tell who made the final move. It was soft and hesitant at first. They began to relax into each other, and their lips move fluidly against each other. Azzi sighs into the kiss and moves her hand to Paigeâs cheek.Â
Something about the movement brought Paige back to reality, reminding her that this was her best friend. That she canât fall deeper in love with her. That this is all fake. Paige gently removes her lips, but Azzi looks down at her with hooded eyes. It feels too real. Paige hears Kk in her mind telling her to protect herself. Paige could feel the walls building around her, needing to remove the moment's intensity. Needing to bring them back to their usual teasing.Â
âSeems like you might be the one who falls in love with me, Fudd.â Paige smirks as best as she can to lighten the moment.Â
Azzi still tries to catch her breath as she removes herself slightly from Paige. âOh yeah? Sounds like yet another challenge youâll lose to.â
Paige could finally release a full breath without Azzi on top of her. âThat tends to be what you say right before you lose to me.â
âAlright, Madison, simmer the confidence now. We need to be up early tomorrow, so save some of that for tomorrow.âÂ
Right, tomorrow. A day filled with lingering touches, kisses, and affection. A day that Paige can totally handle. Well, maybe.
Beep. Beep. Beep.Â
Azziâs alarm goes off, signaling them to start their day. Azzi shoves herself into Paige, trying to hide from the intrusive noise. Paige only knows this because she hasnât slept. How was she supposed to casually fall asleep after kissing the love of her life?
How the fuck did she get herself in this mess? Oh right, she never learned how to say no to Azzi. The girl who smiles at her, and the world slows down. The problem with this whole plan wonât be needing to fake it. The issue will be needing to fake being just friends afterward.
âMhmm, Paigey, turn it off.âÂ
âSorry, Az, but we gotta make it in time for breakfast. Mrs. Miller is kinda intense with this whole schedule.â
âYouâre telling me.â Azzi smiles up at Paige and then shifts to slide off the bed and get ready for the day as if nothing out of the ordinary ever happened.
âIs the breakfast casual?âÂ
âYeah, wear a bathing suit underneath it because it looks like we are spending the morning at the pool.â
âSweet, we can play mermaids!â And avoid thinking about Azzi in a bathing suit.Â
Azzi looks pointedly at Paige and laughs, âJust get ready, you guppy.â
âHereâs some orange juice and Fruit Loops as requested,â Azzi says lightheartedly with an eye roll.Â
âFuck yeah, thanks Az.â Paige immediately attacks her cereal as if sheâs never eaten before. In her defense, all the food last night was stupidly fancy, so can you blame a girl for being desperate?
âBaby, slow down. Youâre going to aspirate on a Fruit Loop, and that's not a cute look.â Baby. Now, that might be what kills her.
Paige smiles up at her with a colorful mouth full of cereal. âSorry, Iâm just really hungry.â
Tim jumps in, âBueckers, you always eat like that when sugar is involved.â
âDonât cap! I just really like my cereal, damn...â
Azzi seems to be looking at Paige, processing something until it clicks and rubs Paigeâs back affectionately. âShit, Paige, Iâm sorry I didnât even think about the food last night not being your vibe.âÂ
âNah, Iâm good forreal. These Fruit Loops are bomb.â As Paige finishes her sentence, Azziâs aunt and grandmother walk up to say good morning. Azzi never moves her hand, but she does seem to have the slightest shift in her demeanor as her shoulders stiffen.Â
âMorning, Grandma! Howâd you sleep?â
âOh, just fine! Thank you for asking, sweetheart. How about you, ladies?â
Before Azzi could answer, Jon scoffed, âIâm sure no sleep was had in that room if you know what I mean.â
Paige chokes on a Fruit Loop in shock. Azzi glares at her brother and rubs Paigeâs back as she coughs it out. âYou okay, baby?â Jon and Jose snicker in their corner, enjoying how red they made Paige. Grandma Fuddâs face flickers in confusion at the term of endearment for a moment.Â
âCanât believe I almost died because of a Fruit Loop.âÂ
Azziâs aunt smiles lovingly at them. âYou two are just so cute together! I ship it.âÂ
Jose is the one to step in this time. âAunt Chrissy, where did you even learn to say that?â
âOh, to ship them? I am cool and hip, you know.â
âWell, your old grandma isnât, so someone fill me in.âÂ
âWhen you ship two people, it means you love them as a couple.â Paige could see the wheels turning in the older womanâs head. Sheâs bracing herself for the awkwardness that might come next.Â
âOh dear, I think I missed something. Are you two in a relationship?â
Azzi grabs Paigeâs hand and smiles, âYeah, grandma Paige is my girlfriend.â God, she wished that she could hear that on repeat.Â
Jose mumbles, âTook them long enough.â
Azzi whips her head towards her brothers, âHey! Whatâs that supposed to mean?âÂ
âDude, you guys have been in love for like ever.â Azziâs face is one of pure shock, and Paige is pretty sure even a sunburn couldn't make her this red.Â
To make matters worse, Grandma Fudd steps back in, âI must say I have to agree with your brother. I thought maybe there was something there, but Katie just kept telling me you girls are just close.âÂ
Azzi sighs and puts her face in her hands. âOkay, can we stop analyzing our relationship and just eat breakfast, please?âÂ
âYes, yes, sorry, sweetie. It just all makes so much more sense why you never dated any boys. Oh, and poor Jonathan!â
âOh, who cares! We want to hear all about how this all finally came to fruition!â Wow, Aunt Chrissy really does ship us.
âAzzi Fudd over here asked me on a date!â Paige smiles triumphantly, enjoying the side eye from Azzi. âShe made me a Tru Fru bouquet and brought me to a drive-in movie where she asked me to be her girlfriend.âÂ
Azzi laughs at the mention of a Tru Fru bouquet. âYeah, well someone had to have the balls to make the move.â Okay, ouch.
âAight, chill, dude. I was nervous.â Azzi glares at Paige and shoves her knee when she calls her dude.
âSorry, baby, you right.âÂ
âSimp,â Jose mumbled under his breath while Azzi looked way too proud at the power she held in this moment.Â
âBro, why does everyone keep callin me a simp today?âÂ
Katie chimed in with a shrug, âYouâve been a simp since day one, Paige. Itâs just more fun to say it now that it's official.â Azzi snickers and high-fived her brothers.Â
The rest of the breakfast continued easily. Paige always felt the most at home with Azzi and her family. They had been done eating for a while, and Paige put her arm around Azziâs chair. Honestly, Paige does that all the time, so itâs nothing new. Whatâs new is how much Azzi leaned into Paige and her hand placement on Paigeâs upper thigh.Â
People keep talking, and Paige genuinely tries to listen, but she canât focus on anything but Azziâs hand. Paige shifts uncomfortably, trying to deal with her inappropriate thoughts, which leads Azzi to move her hand up slightly higher when she turns just enough to look up at Paige. When Paige looks down, her breath hitches at how close their faces are, and she sees Azziâs eyes flicker down to her lips before coughing and returning to the normal conversation. How can she be so nonchalant? Since when has Azzi been a world-renowned fake girlfriend actor?
Mrs. Miller enters the breakfast room with a mimosa on her way outside. Now Paigeâs brain has shifted to finding where she got that mimosa. Sheâll need some liquid courage to deal with the touching for an entire day. âGood morning, Fudd family! Please take your time and join us out by the pool.â
Paige stands up rather abruptly at the invitation. If she doesnât have some space soon, she might pass out. âUh, sorry, I love swimming.â
Everyone laughs at Paige endearingly, and Azzi moves to stand, catching Paigeâs hand like itâs second nature and making their way outside.Â
Once they settle, Azzi removes her sundress, exposing her pink bikini, abs, and that damn belly button piercing. That piercing might be semi-responsible for Paigeâs sexual awakening. In high school, it was easier to push feelings off and make excuses for their touchiness. But when Azzi showed her the new piercing, the way Paigeâs body reacted was definitely not one for a best friend. Now, all these years later, itâs still that damn piercing catching her off guard like she got it yesterday.Â
Azzi grabs sunscreen, successfully removing Paige from her daydream. âAlright Bueckers, get over here so that pretty face of yours doesnât burn.â Azzi straddles the tanning chair in front of Paige, without a care in the world that itâs just a tiny bikini bottom covering her. âHmm, looks like youâre already getting red, Paigey. Letâs get this on fast.âÂ
Well fuck.

For either Loki or Bucky⊠dating someone who uses edible glitter in food just because. They love glitter anyway, but sparkly food just brings an extra spark of joy.
For the record, Iâm talking about the mica based glitter, not the plastic stuff. Makes the food sparkly, does no harm to your digestive system. Also tasteless and has no texture.
Scared of a Little Glitter?
Pairing: Bucky x female reader (Y/N) new relationship
Summary: Bucky spends the night at your apartment for the first time and he learns you have a very interesting food habit when he offers to make you coffee in the morning.
A/N: This is so adorable @firedrakegirl ! Lol I absolutely love this request. Thanks so much for sending it. I hope you like it! Sorry it took me literally forever to get back to writing it. Thanks for waiting! đ
You open your eyes slowly when you feel a soft kiss on your cheek. "Good morning doll," Bucky says quietly, you can hear the smile in his deep voice. His metal arm is wrapped around your waist, keeping your back flush to his bare chest as your legs tangle with his under the covers.
"Good morning handsome," you smile sleepily, turning your head far enough to kiss his lips lightly without slipping from his comfortable grasp.
"Want some coffee?" he asks.
"Yes please," yawning as you nod and cover his metal arm with yours, your fingers intertwine with his.
"I'll need you to let go," he whispers in your ear. You pout and he chuckles in response as you let go of his hand. "It'll only take a few minutes," he kisses your shoulder from behind then pulls off the covers and gets out of your bed.
You roll over resting your chin on your palm as you watch him bend to pick up his jeans from the floor and slip them back on. "Enjoying the view?" he smirks when he looks up and makes eye contact with you.
You giggle, shaking your head, "Nope."
He laughs and walks to the edge of the bed, leaning down to kiss your lips when you look up at him. "Liar," Bucky winks at you, pulling his lips away from yours much too quickly for your liking.
"Y/N, can you come here?" Bucky calls from the kitchen moments later.
You get up from bed quickly, concerned by his tone of voice. Throwing on Bucky's discarded shirt and a pair of shorts you leave your room and call back, "Everything okay?"
He waits until you enter the kitchen to respond which only makes you more curious. "I think your milk went bad," he sounds unsure of himself as he holds the container as far away as possible in his metal hand. "It's green," he shakes the milk slightly and the colors swirl together. "And blue?"
You laugh, "There's nothing wrong with it. I added glitter to it."
"Glitter?" he keeps his eyes on the container as the glitter slowly settles to the bottom and the liquid becomes white again.
"Yep," you confirm with a nod.
"Why?" your very confused boyfriend asks as you take the milk from him and unscrew the cap.
"Cause it's pretty," you answer, "Obviously."
"Okay sure but now we can't drink it," Bucky says as he watches you pour it into your mug. "Wait, Y/N-" he cringes.
"It's totally fine," you tell him with a smile. "It's not the same type of plastic glitter Tony uses in his pranks."
"It's not?" the super soldier furrows his brow as you add a bit of sugar and mix your coffee. You pour a little milk into his mug and he groans quietly.
"Nope, this is made for food," you explain. "It just makes it sparkly and fun." You pick up his mug and hand it to him.
He looks down into the mug, watching the glitter swirl around the coffee. "I'll take your word for it," he puts the mug down on the counter.
"Oh come on, give it a try," you blow on your coffee lightly then take a sip. "I promise you can't taste it and it doesn't have a weird texture or anything."
"I'll pass," he shakes his head.
"Scared of a little glitter?" you giggle.
"I'm not scared, I just don't want to drink it," Bucky says.
"Mmhmm," you hum as you walk past him to put the milk away and grab the ingredients to make breakfast.
"I'm not scared," he insists, folding his arms across his chest.
"I believe you," you say with a smirk, closing the door to the fridge. "Can you make some toast? Breads over there," you point towards the bread next to your toaster.
"Sure," he nods, thankful you've dropped the glitter topic.
Setting the eggs next to the stove you ask him, "Scrambled or omelet?"
"Scrambled please," he kisses your cheek after he loads the four slices into the toaster.
"Coming up," you grab a pan and a bowl. Bucky stands behind you, his arms around your waist as he rests his chin on your shoulder. After cracking a few eggs into the bowl you ask him, "Red or purple?"
"What?" he lifts his chin.
"Red or purple?" you ask again without any further explanation.
"Red?" he responds and you giggle at how unsure he sounds as you open the cabinet next to you and pull out the red mica glitter. "No," he groans but it's too late.
"What?" you play innocent as you whisk the eggs.
"Glitter again?" Bucky sighs deeply.
You take another sip of your coffee and hold it up for him, "You can't taste it. Give it a try."
"I'd rather not," Bucky mumbles.
You laugh, "You remind me of the grumpy guy from green eggs and ham."
"I have no idea what that means," he says, "But green eggs sound gross."
"That's what the guy in the book said," you smile as you add the red, glittered eggs to the pan. "But he never tried them, he just decided he hated them cause they were green."
"That's a fair reason," Bucky chuckles.
"Anyway..." you roll your eyes, "His friend keeps trying to get him to eat it and when he finally does-"
"He dies," he laughs louder and you swat him with the towel you keep on your stove handle.
"No!" you scold him, trying to keep from laughing. "He realizes they are delicious."
"That was my next guess," he smiles and kisses your cheek.
"I'm sure it was," you say sarcastically as you continue to cook the sparkly red eggs. He watches over your shoulder and you look up, kissing his neck. "Bucky, trust me. You won't even notice the glitter."
"Okay," he finally agrees and you smile as the toast pops. "I'll grab plates. You want butter for your toast?"
"Yep, thanks," you smile to yourself knowing you rolled the stick of butter in pink glitter a few days ago.
Bucky laughs in disbelief from behind you, "Really? Even the butter?"
"I couldn't help it," you tell him honestly when he comes back with two plates. One plate has toast with pink, melted butter and the other has plain toast. "No butter for you handsome?"
He raises an eyebrow at you to answer your question and you giggle then put half the eggs on each plate. Bucky sits next to you at the dining table, staring at his food in silence as he pushes the eggs around with his fork. You wait patiently as he finally scoops the smallest bit possible onto his fork and holds it up to his mouth. He looks over at you and you smile to encourage him.
"The things I do for you," Bucky says dramatically just before taking a bite.
You drink your coffee and he looks at you with a bit of a shocked expression. You smirk, "Can't even tell there's glitter in it can you?"
"You're so annoying," you shake your head and eat your eggs.
"No," he admits.
He pulls your chair closer to him, "You love me."
"I know," you smile and kiss his cheek as he steals a piece of your pink buttered toast, "But you're still annoying."

Always the Exception
You were a scared, fidgety, ever-wide-eyed demon who barely managed to squeak out your desire to move into the Hotel. Charlie had of course accepted you with open arms and the others tended to either avoid you or baby you. Alastor found you both incredibly pitiful and far too hilarious. You were easy to scare. You were easy to make uneasy. Youâd jump at everything and flinch at every sound. Such a jittery thing. He enjoyed toying with you.
Now he was wondering just how much you were hiding from them all. He stood with the rest of the hotelâs residents, watching intently as you mowed down the mob that had appeared at the Hotel. More sharks Mimzy owed, and the cowardly wretch once again hid within the Hotelâs walls. Alastor had started to throw her out when you had left through the front door. Charlie tried to stop you, Vaggie physically picked you up but you leapt over them both and prowled out the front door.
âIâll ask you twice. Please leave.â You said.
They, predictably, refused.
âPlease leave.â
Once again, a predictable (and rather rude) refusal.
And now here you were, eyes still as wide as ever as you flattened the loan sharks one after the other, swatting them around like they were flies and blasting them with bursts of magic that left them twitching and convulsing in agony. Strange to see such a bug-eyed expression on such a powerful force. You left them alive but the message you sent them was very very clear.
âDone.â You said as you strolled back inside. It was like someone flipped a switch, the moment your foot crossed the threshold of the lobby you were back to the perpetually terrified trembling demon. âOkay bye.â And off you went.
Mimzy was kicked out by Husk and Alastor waved her a cheery farewell (and threatened her because he told her NOT TO COME BACK). Then the hotel went about its business, itâs residents confused to varying levels. The only one unphased by your display of power was Nifty. Though the little maid simply wasnât bothered by much in general.
Alastor went to your room. You opened the door just a little bit, peering out through the crack with one wide, terrified eye.
âHello, my dear! May we talk?â
You shook your head but Alastor ignored you and shadowed into your room. You jumped with a little squeak and darted to hide beneath your bed. Alastorâs eye twitched.
âDarling, your little coward schtick isnât going to work on me anymore. Iâve seen what youâre capable of, now.â
âNot an act.â You muttered, peering out from your hiding space. âMâscared.â
âWere you scared when you were mauling those sharks?â
âTerrified.â
Alastor paused. Crimson eyes observed your trembling visage. Your claws dug into the floorboards, your pupils shook with fear, your whole body was shaking to the point he thought you were trying to shake off death itself.
ââŠYouâre being seriousâŠâ
You nodded quickly.
âYou destroyed those people while remaining completely untouched.â
You nodded again.
ââŠYou were TERRIFIED of them?â He said, tilting his head so far he broke his own neck. You flinched at the sound ( you always do ) but you nodded again.
âAre you scared of me?â
Another nod.
âWhy donât you maul me, then?â
âBecause I donât want to?â You muttered âyou might be nice.â
âHA! Unlikely.â
âWell you havenât done anything to hurt me.â
âI frighten you.â
âEveryone and everything frightens me, youâre not special.â
Alastorâs eye twitched. ââŠPardon?â
âEveryone and everything frightens me. Youâre not special.â
Alastorâs eye twitched again. ââŠSo if you felt you were SAFE with someoneâŠ.?â
âUm⊠Itâd be. Weird? Not very likely-â
âWELL THENâ Alastor interrupted, dragging you out from your hiding place to wrap an arm around your shoulders âLetâs restart our relationship then! Iâm Alastor, the Radio Demon! And Iâll ensure your safety, my dear.â
ââŠWow. Um.â
âHMMMM?â Alastor said with a too-wide grin.
You didnât say anything, choosing instead to look anywhere else. Alastor was⊠something. Now determined to be your protector simply because he wants to be something everyone else isnât.
âŠMaybe you should just maul him.

Ooooh I LOVE the movie RED!!! â€ïž Karl Urban's fight with Bruce Willis is so freakin' iconic. đ€© I'm already in, babes. Let's dive in.~
Ahh the "hear me out" thing is so relatable lmao. But Marlin?! Really?! đ€Łđ€Ł
Four times youâd fallen asleep on your computer and had the imprint of the keyboard on your cheek, three times youâd had a mental breakdown and decided to change your major promising yourself that you were sure you could make it doing freelance whatever the fuck sounded good at that moment, and you couldnât count the number of times that youâd gone to the library to study only to get distracted by whatever else was better than studying for a physics test.
Oh God, you're giving me Vietnam War-level flashbacks to undergrad when I was stuck until 12 am at the library working on essays and shiz. đ«
âAnd I raise you Kerchak from Tarzan!â âThe daddy gorilla?â Liza asks, leaning into her fiance, Matt, where he lounges back against the faded maroon leather beside her.Â
GIRL PLSSS. đđđ Not "daddy gorilla." đ€Ł
The stranger sitting at the bar is everything she suggested and more. Heâs the kind of handsome that didnât exist outside of the stack of communal romance novels that sat on the bookshelf in your living room and served as the perfect reminder of how single you were.Â
Okay, lmfao. I'ma need you to stop calling me out like this. đđ
But I so love the description of Russell -- he's a man in a sea of man-boys our age, and there's a distinct difference. đ
âHi.â You smile shyly at the man when you meet his gaze. âHi.â He rumbles with an easy smile while the green of his eyes flashes in the neon sign hanging behind the bar. His voice catches you off guard. You weren't expecting it to be so smooth, silk over your skin, but also like the rough drag of the ocean against sand as it pulls it out to sea. âHi.â You say again as all other thoughts evaporate from you mind and you fight the urge to facepalm.Â
LMFAO. Reading this snippet in context is of course even better. I'm dying but also she would so be me in this situation. đ
âRain.â Despite the last few seconds of you feeling so awkward it made you want to sink into the floor like quicksand and the fact that your throat is still burning from when the beer went down the wrong pipe, your mouth quirks up in a smile. âThe horse from Spirit?â
OMG YESSSSS. Lmfao Rain was beautiful! And I love that you referenced one of my favorite movies. đđ Totally agree that Nala had bedroom eyes. And I raise you Robin Hood from the Disney movie! They did NOT have to draw him that sexy.
âShut up.â You laugh and raise your hand to hit him on the shoulder, but he catches it with his. The contact of the rough palm of his hand in yours makes electricity zing through your body, bringing a wave of heat coursing behind it. âThatâs not very nice. Keep trying to hit me like that and I might have to take you to court, Sweetheart.â He winks.
đđ§đ€
Miss ma'am!! Don't make me bring out the Out of Order gif again! I had to fan myself when he literally caught her hand. Dear Lord. đ«
Also, the way I was so shocked and literally laughed out loud at the way she headbutted him. đ€Ł Honestly that would probably be me trying to flirt. A+ casting đđđœ
But again, that spice and the way he kissed her melted me like the Wicked Witch of the West. â€ïžâđ„
âSeriously babe.â Kay begins to back away. âBe safe. Because the last thing you want to pass right now is a pregnancy test.âÂ
lmaooo sage advice! đ
How could I have been so stupid? Heâs going to kill me here and Iâll never know what that physics test did to my GPA. You frown slightly at that thought. It really is weird what goes through your head when you think youâre going to die. âPlease, let me explain.â He says again, eyes wide and filled with an emotion that looks surprisingly like regret.
LOL I love her inner monologue. She's so adorkable, but I'm already getting the RED vibes omggg. đđœ
His body lays over yours, curving protectively around you, and his arm is behind you head so when you hit the ground, your head doesnât.
It's the little things I love loll. đ€đœ
âCalm down Derek Jeter! Iâm not going to murder you, please stop saying that.â âWhy?â He frowns and shrugs his shoulders. âBecause itâs hurting my feelings a little bit.âÂ
Not me feeling sorry for him right now when she's well within her right to try and beat him with a pink baseball bat. đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
I was smiling so hard while reading the rest of this. I was actually so disappointed to get to the end! This was one helluva meet cute, hun. đ
The thing about your one-shots is that they feel like the start of a series--of an amazing adventure that's about to start. I know you have probably a million WIPs at this point lol, but this does feel like a RED kind of movie and I would love to see more of these two if you ever feel so inspired. âš

Main Masterlist
Prompt Celebration Masterlist
A/N: Hey guys! This is another wonderful prompt request that I got for my prompt celebration from the enchanting @vixaaa! This one is based a little bit on the movies "Knight and Day" and "RED." If you've never seen either of those, go and watch them right now. They are some of my favorites!
P.S: Yes, this is the one I've been writing that has just been making me wheeze/cackle laugh the whole time I wrote it...

âAlright, hear me out⊠Gil, the angelfish from Finding Nemo. There is no way in hell he was made for kids.â Your friend Liza says wobbling slightly on the plush leather bench seat of the booth before taking a shot of vodka. Her peacock blue No. 2 hair shimmers like a beacon in the dimly lit bar.Â
âThatâs low hanging fruit.â Kay snorts from your left while leaning heavily into your shoulder, the smell of her vanilla perfume wafting up with the movement. âThat scar? The tragic backstory? And voiced by Wilem Defoe? Sign me up.â
You giggle into the shot glass clasped in your hand before you knock it back, face scrunching at the taste and pleasant burn.
The âHear Me Outâ drinking game your two best friends proposed to clear your head from the nuclear level bombing of an exam you just took in your Physics One class, had been successful so far. You couldnât remember any of the questions from the test that made you scream obscenities into the strawberry shaped pillows on the couch in your living room earlier. Exactly where the two of them had found you when they got back to your shared apartment at the end of the day.
The live music in the crowded bar thrummed through your veins and the shots were giving you just the right amount of buzz to feel more carefree than you had in the past week. The week that youâd spent approximately one million hours studying for the test and trying to memorize all the formulas that looked exactly the same.Â
Spoiler alert, there are a lot of things that are.
But you knew you were screwed the second you saw the first question and the rest of them had only been the final nails in the coffin that was the dream of getting an âAâ in the class before the semester was over.Â
The glimmering sheen of hope at the end of the semester you once had, was ebbing to a dim lantern being swung by a lighthouse keeper in a hurricane, hence the large tray of vodka sitting prettily on the water ringed table in front of you.
You were sure to regret every single shot, but your next exam was two days away and you didnât want to think about it yet, not when the shadow of the last was poking you in the back with a pencil like someone looking for your final piece of gum.
For a Tuesday night, Dukeâs, the bar the three of you frequented so often that the rotating circle of bartenders knew you all by name, was crowded.
There was the familiar glow of the neon signs posted on every wall, a new band performing a set on the small stage in the corner, a collection of screaming girls in the front row of the crowd snapping photos and drooling over the base player, a group of frat guys shouting obscenities at a tv blasting a football game, and a few patrons trying to unwind from a long day while nursing multi colored drinks and sitting sporadically around the crowded bar while the bartender of the hour leaned against the counter and tried to hear orders people shouted over the din.Â
You would have been more than happy to spend the evening on the couch eating a greasy pizza and drinking margaritas back at the apartment, but Kay and Liza refused to let you rot on the couch.Â
The three of you had been inseparable since freshman year when youâd been assigned as roommates together. Liza was an art major hoping to illustrate book covers one day, Kay was a hardworking pre-med student, and you were⊠undecided. Physics 1 had been the idea of your advisor, who after a year of trying to get you to declare a major was close to throwing in the towel, you believed that he was using Physics 1 as a form of payback for driving him almost to the point of early retirement.Â
âOkay, okay I see you.â Kay giggles, before grabbing a fresh shot. Her long black hair is pulled back from her face with a claw clip, but a few pieces bob around her head with the movement of her head to the music. âAnd I raise you Kerchak from Tarzan!â
âThe daddy gorilla?â Liza asks, leaning into her fiance, Matt, where he lounges back against the faded maroon leather beside her.Â
There was a half full glass of beer sitting in front of him, one heâd ordered when he found out what everyone else at your table was drinking. But heâd been a good sport so far despite all of his suggestions to the game being so obvious there was no reason for him to defend his choice and the rest of you mocking him endlessly for it.Â
âSweetie, he could be my daddy any day of the week.â Kay winks and throws back her shot.Â
âYouâre disgusting.â Liza rolls her eyes, refusing to take a shot to agree with Kay.Â
âHey! What happened to âwe listen and we donât judge?ââ You interrupt, putting your arm around Kay who holds up a middle finger in answer to Lizaâs taunt.
âWhere was that when I said Jessica Rabbit two turns ago?â Matt grouses from his side of the table, crossing his large arms over his chest. His blond hair had tumbled out of the bun at the back of his neck to cover the grass stain on the collar of his jersey. Heâd come straight from practice when Liza called.Â
And then Kay and you had to suffer through the long make out session the two of them had when they reunited as if theyâd been separated by war for fifty years and not two hours. They were recently engaged and you loved Matt, which is why youâd let them make out for exactly thirty seconds before Kay and you started making exaggerated gagging noises while they kissed.Â
Kayâs boyfriend hadnât been able to get out of work, but Kay was going to walk to the coffee shop inside the library to pick him up when the tray of shots in the center of the table sat empty. Usually youâd worry about that sort of thing, your friend walking alone on campus at night, but because Kay had the highest tolerance out of all of you, Matt included, and a total badass who welcomed the challenge of anyone who tried to test her, you were willing to let it slide.Â
That and the three of you tracked each otherâs location with your phones.
âBecause Jessica Rabbit isnât a hear me out! Everyone knows that sheâs super sexy!â You argue. âShe doesnât fit the criteria of this game!â
âSheâs right babe.â Liza says, squeezing his arm with a sympathetic smile. âBut itâs okay. I love that youâre a basic bitch.â
âBut sheâs animated!â Matt exclaims, obviously confused.
âSo? Flynn Ryder is animated and heâs every womanâs dream.â You shrug, picking up a glass to take your turn.
You begin to shuffle through the mental file folder you have on characters who possessed âthe energyâ that made them so attractive. Truthfully, Kay and Liza had already said most of the ones you were thinking.
âYou want to talk about every womanâs dream?â Kay smirks, her eyes flick over to the bar. âCheck out green eyes over there. Holy shit, Iâd let him rock me like a hurricane all day and all night!âÂ
âIâll be sure to tell Sean, your boyfriend of three years-â You begin to say, but Kay pinches your cheeks between her fingers and turns your head so you can see who sheâs talking about.Â
Oh.
The stranger sitting at the bar is everything she suggested and more. Heâs the kind of handsome that didnât exist outside of the stack of communal romance novels that sat on the bookshelf in your living room and served as the perfect reminder of how single you were.Â
The man is taller and broader than any of the so-called boys you went to class with each day, his tight fitting dark t-shirt pulling up over muscular arms that rippled with taunt muscles and were decorated with smoky tattoos curling beneath the ink colored sleeves. His chocolate colored hair is long and pushed back over his head, but a few strands hang forward to frame a well defined jaw covered in a thick dusting of facial hair.
Your throat suddenly gets very tight.Â
The manâs gaze is focused on you, the green of his eyes brilliant, crinkled just around the edges with his smile. He winks and your entire face takes on the identity of a strawberry with your flush.
âHoly shit!â Kay nudges you. âYou have to go over there.â
âWhat?â You squeak. âAre you insane? That guy is-â
âThe kind of man who would make you forget all about that physics test?â Liza raises an eyebrow.
âThe kind of man who would break the laws of physics with you all night long?â Kay adds. âBabe, come on, it's been months for you. Why donât you go over there and say hi?â
âNo way.â You shake your head vehemently, hyperventilating a little bit at the thought of going up to a complete stranger.Â
You were not the confident girl in the group that did that. Kay was. It was exactly how she had met her boyfriend Sean three years ago, by using a cheesy pick up line that made him snort so hard he had beer coming out of his nose. Liza wasnât much better. Sheâd met Matt in this very bar when her heel broke and she stumbled into where he was sitting with his friends at the bar.Â
And the truth was it had been a few months since the last relationship (if you could call it that) fizzled out⊠and with both of your friends in relationships you often were the awkward fifth wheel. It wasnât that you didnât like your friends' boyfriends, Matt and Sean were great and they always did their best to make you feel comfortable whenever you were out with everyone, but you were kinda tired of being the spare tire.
âI donât think we should be encouraging her to go off somewhere with a random man from a bar that she just met.â Matt says with a frown.Â
Matt often held the braincell in your friend group and was the one who was more focused on making sure that everyone was safe. He was the one who followed up with a text whenever someone left to go home, the one who made sure that everyone stayed together when you were out late, and was usually the designated driver.Â
âYouâre such a hypocrite.â Liza boops Matt on the nose. âYou were a random man that Iâd never met before. And if Iâm not mistaken we met in this very bar.â
âThatâs different.â Matt sighs, but he leans towards Liza, the tension dissipating from his shoulders as he looks at her and his frown slips into a smile.Â
They were one of those couples that no one ever thought would work. Liza was the carefree art major with no plan in the world and Matt was the All American, blue-eyed, blond haired football player that everyone said was âgoing to do great thingsâ when in reality all Matt wanted to be was Lizaâs husband. He didnât care about anything else, but making her happy. Hence the giant engagement ring on her finger, the same one that heâd let her design because he knew that was important to her.Â
They were everything you wanted in your own relationship. A beautiful merging of crazy (from you) with someone stable and structured, preferably someone with a strong jaw, brilliant green eyes and-
Great, heâs already invaded my subconscious.Â
You glance up again to see if the stranger is still looking. He is, but this time his smile is just a little wider, and you watch his eyes drag down the length of your body for a moment appreciatively before flicking back up to yours and catches you doing the same thing.Â
You werenât wearing anything revealing, in fact, you hadnât bothered dressing up to go out because you didnât feel like it. You were still wearing the blank sweatpants and oversized sweatshirt combo that youâd worn to your exam.Â
When you caught him looking at you, it made you regret you hadnât worn something more eye-catching.
âCome on, that guy is checking you out! Go over there.â Kay nudges you, jostling the forgotten tequila shot in your hand.Â
âHe looks like trouble.â Matt says half-heartedly, but heâs too busy staring into Lizaâs eyes to really care. Her hands are entwined at the back of his head pulling his forehead down to hers.
When it got to that point of the night, it usually meant that the two of them were about fifteen seconds from calling it an early night and going back to Mattâs apartment. Technically Kay would probably end up there as well because Sean was now Mattâs roommate and that meant youâd have the apartment to yourselfâŠ
âHow can you tell? Are you looking at his reflection in Lizaâs eyes?â Kay takes a shot from the collection of the remaining few in front of her.
âWe all know that if Sean was here, youâd already be practicing your scuba breathing.â Liza gently brushes back the few strands of blond hair that hang forward into Mattâs face which only makes him sigh softly and look at her like sheâs the last woman on earth.Â
You try not to be jealous.Â
Kay only rolls her eyes. âAlright, Iâm taking initiative.â
âWhat does that mean?â You begin to ask, but Kay shoves you out of the booth and towards the handsome stranger who hasnât taken his eyes off of you since your eyes met moments ago.Â
âKay. What the hell?â You turn back to look at her, but sheâs already holding up your forgotten shot.Â
âTake this and go over there.â
âBut-â
âThe only butt you should be thinking about is his, in those deliciously tight jeans. You will thank me in the morning.â She refuses to budge. âAnd then come home and tell me everything the two of you did, because Seanâs about to go visit his family for a week and I will need something to fantasize about.â
You wrinkle your nose in disgust, but then look to Liza hoping for help. Unfortunately sheâs too busy counting Mattâs eyelashes to defend you. You look back at Kay who is still holding up the shot, gaze unwavering.Â
I canât believe Iâm about to do this.Â
You think to yourself with a sigh, before taking the shot, hoping that it will give you some of the confidence you need to talk to the most attractive man youâd ever seen in your life.Â
I can do this, I can do this-
The internal monologue repeats itself over and over again with each step as you weave your way through the crowd to make it where the man is sitting, dropping your gaze to the people around you as if youâre more focused on them.
You werenât, but staring at him while you were walking towards him seemed too predatory, and you could already feel how warm your cheeks were from your flush.
You grip the firm edge of the bar when you make it to him, using it to ground yourself there in the moment before you find the strength to meet his gaze.
Thereâs a faded green jacket hung over the high backed barstool behind him that you hadnât noticed before.
Your eyes trace over his body, just a quick glance, but snags on his arms for just a second too long to be casual. They were even more glorious in person, tan and flecked with cinnamon colored freckles hidden beneath twisting tattoos that disappeared into his dark shirt sleeves.
âHi.â You smile shyly at the man when you meet his gaze.
âHi.â He rumbles with an easy smile while the green of his eyes flashes in the neon sign hanging behind the bar.
His voice catches you off guard. You weren't expecting it to be so smooth, silk over your skin, but also like the rough drag of the ocean against sand as it pulls it out to sea.
âHi.â You say again as all other thoughts evaporate from you mind and you fight the urge to facepalm.Â
What the hell am I doing over here? I might as well do the walk of shame back to my own table.Â
Russell raises an eyebrow, his smile widening. âHi.â He echoes.
You open your mouth-
âBefore you say hi back sweetheart, why donât you tell me what youâre drinking instead?â He winks making your cheeks warm with their flush.
Honestly, you were expecting him to be turned off by your somewhat awkward introduction, but if you bothered him, he doesnât show it. He leans towards you curiously, eyes drinking you in.Â
You clear your throat while your mind scrambles to come up with something appropriate or sexy to say other than âwow youâre pretty.â You settle on. âWhatever youâre drinking.âÂ
Smooth real smooth.Â
You glance back in the direction of where your friends are sitting as the manâs gaze turns to the bartender so he can order you a drink. Kay makes an obscene gesture with her hand that makes Matt kick her under the table, and Liza gives you an encouraging thumbs up.
Kill me now.Â
You turn back to the man lounging against the bar, unaware that heâs watching you again.Â
âYou seemed like you were having some fun over there. What were you talking about?â He nods his head in the direction of your friends, the motion causing more of his dark hair to fall into his eyes and you fight the urge to push it back from his face and find out if it was as soft as it looked.
âOh um.â Your mouth goes dry. The last thing you wanted to say to the gorgeous man was that your friends and you were discussing what animated movie characters turned you on. So you blurt out. âThe First Law of Thermodynamics.â
It had clawed its way from the dark recesses of your mind where the rest of the test answers had been hiding from you when you tried to summon them earlier.Â
âWhat?â The man laughs while you feel your face begin to blaze.Â
âThe First Law of Thermodynamics?â You clear your throat. âThe theory that energy cannot be created or destroyed."
Where was that when I needed it for the test?
âHuh.â He smirks and takes a long sip from the beer in his hand. âDidnât think Tarzan had anything to do with that.â
Oh sweet baby potatoes he heard the daddy conversation. Why couldnât he have heard the Jessica Rabbit conversation instead?
âAh.â You laugh awkwardly, realizing exactly what he overheard.Â
The bartender puts down a bottle of beer in front of you and whirls away to another patron sitting on the opposite side of the bar. The band begins to play a new song, this one louder with more drums than the last one, causing the man to lean closer to you so you can hear him.Â
âSo.â The smell of the manâs cologne wafts over you. He smells like pine, mint, whiskey, and thereâs an odd smell you canât place, something that smells almost a little bit like smoke.
You ascribe it to cigarettes, but you donât realize how wrong you are.Â
Thereâs something about him, more than just how attractive he is or how good he smells that draws you in. Maybe youâd just been burned by far too many boys and were blinded by the man sitting in front of you, but he had a roughness and self-sufficient air that you found refreshing.Â
He was assertive, sexy, with smoldering green eyes that somehow seemed soft and hard at the same time and filled you with an unholy amount of desire.Â
âSo?â You parrot, bringing the beer up to your lips, hoping that a sip will take the edge off.Â
âDonât you want to hear mine?â His voice is low and sultry, breath warming the air between the two of your faces.Â
You sputter out a cough, choking on the sip you took in surprise, and his eyes widen in concern. The man brings his hand down against your back with a hearty smack to clear out your lungs.
âAre you okay?âÂ
âNever better.â You choke out, voice a little wheezy. âWrong pipe.â
This is quickly becoming the most embarrassing moment of my life.Â
âAre you sure?â The strangerâs eyes trace over you as if he fears youâll start asphyxiating at any moment.
âMhmm.â You clear your throat again. âWhat were you saying?â
âI asked if you wanted to hear mine.â
You suddenly forget how to breathe, the only thing grounding you to this moment is the hand you placed on the cherry wood of the bar. âSure.â
âRain.â
Despite the last few seconds of you feeling so awkward it made you want to sink into the floor like quicksand and the fact that your throat is still burning from when the beer went down the wrong pipe, your mouth quirks up in a smile. âThe horse from Spirit?â
âMhmm.â He smiles a little wider. âMy little sister used to watch that movie non-stop, and there was always something about that horse.â
âHuh.â You muse taking another sip of the beer, this time successfully not choking on it. âI didnât peg you for a horse guy. You seem more like a Nala person.â
âOh that lion did it for me too.â The man leans closer to you and you can feel your knees getting weak. âShe definitely had bedroom eyes.â
âShe did!â You laugh at him. âThe animators knew what they were doing.â
It was getting easier to talk to him now and you could feel your nerves slowly going out to sea. Thereâs a comfortable silence that fills the air between the two of you.
âWhy did you say the First Law of Thermodynamics earlier?â He asks before taking a sip from his beer. The condensation trickles down the side of the glass to pool against the wood of the bar.
âBecause I didnât want to admit what we were talking about.â You answer honestly. âAnd I guess itâs still a little fresh in my mind-â
âWhy?â
âI had a physics test today. Completely bombed it. Thatâs why my friends brought me out tonight, they were trying to make me forget it.â You wave a hand dismissively, but it was the first time youâd thought about the test in the past hour and it still stung a little bit.Â
You were hoping that by this point of the night it wouldnât have mattered anymore, but it did. Not to mention you didnât exactly want to be talking about your most recent failure with a man who looked anything like he did.Â
But something about him made you feel comfortable talking to him about things that were not on the pre-approved list of subjects you created when you spoke to people you were attracted to. He didnât seem to just be some hot stranger in a bar, he seemed like he actually cared, and that he was invested in what you were going to say.Â
It made him even more attractive. You weren't used to boys wanting to actually listen to anything you had to say.
âIâm sorry.â His face pulls down into a sympathetic frown.Â
âMe too.â You sigh.Â
âMaybe you didnât do as bad as you think you did.â
âOh I did. When I turned in the test, the professor made a face.â Your thumb rubs against the glass of the cold bottle clutched in your hand. âI studied all week for it and it kinda feels like I wasted all that time.â
The man studies you for a moment. âI think that if you learn something from it, then itâs not a waste. There are no accidents.â
âAre you purposely quoting Master Oogway to make me feel better or is that just a coincidence?âÂ
âHeâs a smart turtle.â He laughs pleased with himself that he made you smile. âBut you remembered the First Law of Thermodynamics. And I thought it was a nice pick up line. Might use that sometime.âÂ
âShut up.â You laugh and raise your hand to hit him on the shoulder, but he catches it with his.
The contact of the rough palm of his hand in yours makes electricity zing through your body, bringing a wave of heat coursing behind it.Â
âThatâs not very nice. Keep trying to hit me like that and I might have to take you to court, Sweetheart.â He winks.
âOh please-âÂ
âHow else am I going to run into you again?â
âWell-â You swallow trying to find the next words, but theyâre stuck in the back of your throat.Â
I am so out of practice.Â
âWell?â He raises an eyebrow in a silent challenge, the end of his perfect mouth teased upwards in a smile.Â
âThis doesnât have to be goodbye.â
âWhat did you have in mind?â The heat of his gaze sends goosebumps dancing over your skin and you swear you can feel your heartbeat in the base of your throat.Â
People do this all the time. I can say it. I can-
âMaybe-â You scoot closer to him, summoning some courage from the tequila. âSomething like this.âÂ
Your free hand curls into the front of his shirt to pull the stranger closer for a kiss.
Unfortunately, you pull him just a little too hard, with a little too much enthusiasm, and he falls off the stool with a startled cry in surprise and knocks his head into yours.Â
âOw.â You groan rubbing at the red mark forming on your forehead. âI am so sorry.âÂ
By now your cheeks are so warm that you could fry an egg on them and you were sure you looked like a giant raspberry. You had never been so clumsy or so embarrassed in your entire life.Â
âItâs okay, you just surprised me a bit.â The man says, but heâs peering at the mark on your forehead. âAre you okay?âÂ
How many times is he going to ask me that tonight?Â
âYeah the only thing thatâs hurt is my pride.â You let out an awkward laugh. âIâm just gonna-â You gesture with your thumb over your shoulder to signify that youâre going to leave.Â
The anecdotes that your friends were going to tell from tonight had already begun to manifest in your head:
âHey, remember that time you tried to flirt with a gorgeous man at the bar and you headbutted him?â
âHey, remember that handsome stranger? The one you told all about your failed physics test instead of sleeping with him?â
âWait.â He gently puts his hand on your waist, sending your heart into a gallop. âCan we try that again?â
âHuh?â You blink in surprise.
So far all youâd done was head butt him and tell him your sob story about failing your physics test.Â
Worst seduction technique ever.Â
âDonât move.â He smiles. âDonât want to have to take you to the hospital for a CT if you bump my head again.âÂ
It would have made you laugh if he wasnât already kissing you.
It might just be the alcohol talking, or the fact that the last thing you kissed was the strawberry pillows on the couch in the living room last week when Liza, Kay, and you were watching your favorite paranormal tv show and you were imagining the male lead, but this kiss is nothing like any of the others youâd had in the past.Â
His mouth devours yours, beard scratching against your cheeks in a way that makes your entire body buzz. The manâs hands tighten your waist to draw you closer, closing the space between your bodies, and all you can feel is the wonderful drag of his fingertips against the end of your sweatshirt, the burn of his beard, the press of his chest onto yours, and the tangle of his tongue as you sink further into him.Â
A moan vibrates up through his chest and into your mouth that you echo with a soft sigh, your hands slipping over the taunt muscles before finding purchase against his back, your fingertips curling into the soft fabric of his t-shirt.Â
The rest of the bar is rendered to a dull throb of life at the back of your mind, the man in front of you absorbing the rest of your attention as he should. He is nothing like anyone youâd ever met and you wanted to know more. You wanted to see the end of the odd shaped scar just at the base of his throat, trail your fingers over the dark tattoos that decorated his skin while searching for more in places you couldnât yet see, and sink into the deep green sea of his eyes.Â
âBetter?â He breathes.
âMuch, but if youâre not into that, I also know the Second Law of Thermodynamics. Just to give you something to remember me by.â You mumble against his lips, still slightly embarrassed. Your hands were still curled behind his strong shoulders, fingertips digging into the firm muscles.
âBeside the bruises?â He smirks before he kisses you again, the languid roll of his tongue against yours makes you forget your own name. âIâd very much like to hear it.â The rumble of his words vibrates through where your bodies are pressed against one another. âBut first let me get the car and then Iâll let you tell me all about it.âÂ
He brushes his lips to yours one more time, before he puts cash on the bar, and leaves you breathless as he saunters away towards the front door.Â
Holy fucking shit. How did that work?
âGirl Yes!â You hear Kay, before you feel her hands come down on your shoulders to shake you excitedly. âI was a little worried in the middle there for you with that head butt, but yes! Thatâs how you do it!â Her excited squeal brings you back down to earth from the cloud you were floating on with Russell.Â
âWhereâd he go?â Liza asks. Matt was holding her from behind, his chin on her shoulder as he slowly rocked her to the music.
âTo get the car.â Your cheeks flush at the insinuation.Â
âFuck I am so jealous. The only thing Iâm going to get to do tonight is Seanâs back.â Kay gives an exaggerated sigh. âItâs acting up and that means Iâm going to have to give him a massage for an hour and not the good kind. It always knocks him out.âÂ
âAww babe.â Liza says.Â
âItâs okay.â Kay shrugs, but then sends her a saucy wink. âI can do some laundry. His washing machine has this spin cycle that makes me see stars.âÂ
âI didnât need to know that youâve been molesting our washing machine.â Matt closes his eyes as if trying to scrub the image from his mind.Â
âItâs money well spent, Mattie.â Kay batts her eyes at him.Â
He huffs, but then turns his gaze on you, his blue eyes are filled with concern. âAre you sure youâre going to be okay?â
âYeah.â You shrug, nerves popping and sizzling inside so much that they might as well be giving off enough electricity to power New York City. âI donât get a creepy vibe from him. I think heâs actually kind of nice.âÂ
It was true. Your radar was usually on point with things like this, and there was something about Russell that didnât scream axe murderer. He seemed surprisingly laid back and honest, and you found yourself curious to know more about him.Â
Matt doesnât look convinced.
âItâs okay babe.â Liza says, swaying her and his body to the music. âWe have the app on our phones and we all know the safe word.â She continues, referencing the word the three of you designated when everything was okay as well as the other word that meant everything was going terribly wrong.Â
You didnât think that you would need it.Â
He sighs. âFine, but if he tries anything weird-â
âWhat qualifies as weird for you?â Kay asks, raising an eyebrow. âIâve always been curious about your kinks.âÂ
Kay always took pride in getting under Mattâs skin. You never knew why that was, only that it seemed to be her mission to make him crack. He never did.Â
âBe safe.â He nods at you before he drags Liza towards the door.Â
âSeriously babe.â Kay begins to back away. âBe safe. Because the last thing you want to pass right now is a pregnancy test.âÂ
âWhy are we friends again?â You groan as you follow behind her, weaving through the mass of bodies writhing to the newest song.Â
The air outside the bar is cooler, but thereâs just a hint of something on the wind. Spring was coming, but it was still far enough away to leave just a light chill in the air. The street in front of Dukeâs was populated sporadically with cars of varying shapes and colors, but you couldnât help but wonder what kind of car the mysterious stranger drove.Â
Why didnât I ask him for his name?Â
âBecause youâd be lost without me.â Kay laughs at you, but then pulls you into a hug. âHave fun and please try not to think about that stupid test. Youâre so smart and I promise that one test is not going to define your entire future. If that were true my first organic chemistry test would have come with a refrigerator box to live in, because that test was literally the stuff of nightmares.âÂ
She frowns at the memory. It was the first test that she had ever failed in her entire life, and although you were the one who usually obsessed over grades, it was the first time youâd ever seen Kay so disappointed. That was also because her professor had asked her to stop by for office hours and told her that there was no way sheâd ever be able to get the grades she needed in his class.Â
But a weekend marathon of Sex and the City listening to her mentor Samantha Jones, had brought her back to life and sheâd sauntered confidently into the classroom armed with a flat white latte and sat in the front row at every lecture the rest of the semester.Â
Sheâd gotten the highest grade in the class.Â
Basically, Kay was your hero, that was the real reason why you were her friend.Â
âIâll try my best. Tell Sean hi for me.â You squeeze her just as tight, before she walks away down the darkened path back to campus where Sean would be waiting for her.Â
There was an odd glow over the sidewalks tonight, a yellowed light that crawled along the cracked brick building that housed Dukeâs and halted just shy of the opening of the alley that ran between Dukeâs and the bank next door. No other people were visible. Even the small crowd that usually leaned against the rustic brick wall outside of the bar smoking was nowhere to be seen.Â
It was odd.
You rub your hands down your arms with nervous anticipation. Youâd slept with someone from a bar one time before, but one night stands were not your forte at all. The last time itâd happened, youâd gone back with a guy to his apartment only to find out an hour later when his girlfriend got home that he wasnât single. She hadnât seemed surprised that you were in bed with him, but you had been when she pulled out a switchblade the size of your hand and began to slash through the neatly arranged collection of plush squish-mallows on the floor while screaming obscenities at the guy.
In hindsight, maybe the squish-mallows were a clue that he was in a relationship.Â
But you didnât have any bad feelings about the man youâd met. He was attractive, witty, nice, funny, and he genuinely seemed concerned about you when you almost choked to death on a sip of beer.Â
I will make him forget the entire awkward encounter.Â
You promised yourself, but you also began to be a little bit nervous. You didnât know why it was taking him so long to find the car.Â
A bird caws overhead, sweeping low across the buildings, feathers an inky black in the night air, its shadow flickering across the moon.Â
Another two minutes pass and you start to get antsy.Â
Maybe he just left?
The thought brings a wave of disappointment over you. The stranger was the first person in a long time that youâd felt genuinely attracted to and now you couldnât help but think that maybe he lied and when he said he was going to get the car, he really was trying to get away from you as fast as possible.Â
You take a few steps in the direction that Kay left thinking that you might as well cut your losses and see if you can catch up, but hesitate.Â
What if I leave and he comes back? What if-
An odd noise that sounds like a cat hacking up a hairball comes from the alley directly to your right, followed by the sound of something heavy hitting the pavement.Â
You turn. Most of the alley is obscured in shadows, several large dumpsters jut out from grimy brick walls stained with God knows what, but you donât see anything out of the ordinary.Â
There are some lights fastened to the wall that runs the length of the bar, sending a dingy orange light over the bags of trash, empty flattened cardboard boxes, and plastic cups strewn over the wet ground.Â
The door of Dukeâs swings open for a moment, bringing the sounds and smells of the bar through the doorway as a woman enters tugging a sullen looking man behind her.
You turn your attention back to the empty alleyway, and catch the low rumble of a voice that sounds oddly familiar. It echoes through the darkness bouncing off the stone, metal, and bags of trash to where you stand at the dimly lit mouth of the alley.
Thatâs weird.Â
Another sound follows the voice, a wet sounding thud that piques your interest. You take a tentative step forward into the darkness.
Wait. Isnât this how every horror movie starts?
It was a valid question. But then you hear the voice again, itâs louder, vibrating against the brick and mortar, and it pulls your forward.Â
Anxiety hums through your body as you inch down the alley, sticking to the well lit side that runs the length of Dukeâs.
âWho sent you?â The familiar voice asks.
Thereâs no answer, and the sound of the cat choking up a hairball comes back.Â
Someone needs to get Grizabella a glass of water.
You take another shaky step passing by the first dumpster before you reach the part of the alley that wraps around the back of the bar.Â
At first youâre not sure what you see. The part of the alley behind the bar is more of a cramped street with a tire marked dirt path, bathed in awkward light from the moon and from a lazy streetlight thatâs only half lit. Thereâs another dumpster back here, this one a little larger than the others youâd seen along the side of the building, but that isnât whatâs interesting.Â
The image comes into focus.Â
The stranger from the bar is standing there, his back to you, but he isnât alone. The stranger has a man pinned to the dumpster, a large knife stabbed into the space between the manâs collarbone and his right shoulder while his other hand is clasped tightly around the manâs neck.
âWho sent you?!â The stranger roars, the knife digging into the manâs shoulder.Â
Your entire body freezes in fear.
My radar was so wrong. How could it be this wrong? He was so caring and kind- Thatâs what they said about Ted Bundy.Â
Your gaze drops to what you thought was a garbage bag at the green-eyed stranger's feet, but realize that itâs not a bag, itâs a body.
Holy shit heâs a murderer! Maybe if I just back away slowly-
You take a slow step backwards hoping to edge back into the alley that runs the length of the bar and forget this night ever happened, but instead of your foot finding solid ground, it finds a forgotten potato chip bag.Â
The crinkled plastic crunches underfoot, breaking the still silence of the night. You inhale sharply and look up. Your gaze locks with the green-eyed man.
âI didnât see anything.â You hold up your hands, backing away slowly. âHave a nice night.â
âWait-â
âNope.â You turn and flee down the alley hoping that someone is coming out of the bar at the exact moment who can witness the broad stranger chasing after you. His boots thud against the concrete, splashing through water in hot pursuit, contrasting against the plods of your own feet sloshing through puddles and through trash to get back to the light.
Before you make it halfway through the darkness, he grabs your arm and turns you to look at him.Â
âLet me go!â You shriek, tugging at his grip, preparing to kick him between his legs, the only place that matters.
âPlease wait. I can explain!âÂ
âYou donât have to explain!â You keep pulling at his arm. âI didnât see anything! I donât know who you are. And you know what? I wasnât even in the bar tonight! I was back in my apartment watching Crime Scene Kitchen!âÂ
It was the first thing that popped into your head, but if it meant that you got to live, it would be your alibi.
He hesitates confused. âWhatâs Crime Scene Kitchen?â
âWhat? You just fucking murdered someone in an alley, youâre about to murder me, and thatâs what youâre asking me?â You scream.
âIâm not going to murder you. And I was the one who was attacked!â
âOh sure!â Fear clamps down hard on your throat squeezing the air coming in through your lungs. Tears begin to burn against your eyes as you try to release his grip. âSomebody help me!â You scream loudly trying to twist away from him and wishing that youâd brought your bottle of pepper spray or that youâd taken the self-defense class last summer with Kay or at least paid more attention to that scene in Miss Congeniality.
How could I have been so stupid? Heâs going to kill me here and Iâll never know what that physics test did to my GPA.Â
You frown slightly at that thought. It really is weird what goes through your head when you think youâre going to die.Â
âPlease, let me explain.â He says again, eyes wide and filled with an emotion that looks surprisingly like regret.
His dark hair has fallen forward over his cheeks that are flecked with blood, but the lights that line the wall of the dark alley perfectly frame his face. He looked like a model for a beer commercial or one that theyâd roughed up a little for those weird perfume commercials you saw that never made any sense, but were always intriguing.Â
Why are all the hot ones crazy? Why couldnât he have just been a bad kisser? Or maybe a little too loud? Why is his flaw that he freaking MURDERS people?Â
As you think that, there is a little voice inside your head that asks: Could I be okay with that?Â
NO! OF COURSE NOT!
âThereâs nothing to explain! Youâre a murderer! You just killed those people!â You aim a kick at his crotch, but the man only catches your ankle with his large hand. You could feel the warmth of his skin through your sweatpants, the sensation that brought warm tingles through your body when you were in the bar, only sends a wave of fear crashing over you.
âYes I did, but for a good reason!â
âReally? What reason was that!?â
âThey were trying to kill me!â
âI donât believe you!â
âI-â
Before he can finish his sentence, gunfire explodes over your head. Sparks fly as bullets crash into the dumpsters and rip through the night air around where you and the man are standing.
Thereâs a large black suburban parked in the street that runs behind Dukeâs where youâre found the stranger with the body. Three men stand in front of it all in dark clothing and each one is holding a pistol pointed directly at where youâre standing.Â
âHoly shit!â You scream, but the stranger tackles you back behind the large rusting green dumpster that juts out and gives you cover from the blaze of bullets.
His body lays over yours, curving protectively around you, and his arm is behind you head so when you hit the ground, your head doesnât. The impact of the cold, wet, concrete beneath your body jostles through your system, but you canât focus on it too much, not when the manâs entire body is laying on top of yours and it feels as if he was made especially for you.Â
He lays in the cradle of your thighs, wonderfully broad and hard, the muscles of his body contrasting to the soft curves of your body underneath your clothes. It left very little to the imagination, well⊠not little.Â
Itâs enough to make a girl forget that heâs a murderer⊠No, what am I saying!!
You shove him off of you and cower back behind the dumpster, the sound of gunfire filling your ears and making you realize exactly what you smelled on the man earlier that you thought was smoke.Â
âBaby-â He says reaching out to comfort you.
âDonât touch me! Iâm not your baby!â You swat his hands away from you pressing yourself back into the wet wall of the alley.Â
The smell of mold and trash was rising all around you in an unholy mist. The wet ground soaked into the soft fabric of your pants and left stains that you didnât want to think about what they were.Â
âHoly shit. Holy shit. Holy shit-â It comes out like a sickening mantra as you rock back and forth, hands on your ears to make the sound of the gunfire stop.
Iâm going to die here. In this dismal back alley. In front of this gorgeous murder. If I had know that I wouldnât have spent so much of this week studying for a mother-fucking physics test!
âSweetheart!â The man shouts to catch your attention, but you donât look at him.Â
âWhat in the devilâs ass is happening?!â You shriek.
âListen to me!â He shouts louder over the sound of gunfire and takes your cheeks in his rough palms to make him look at him. His green eyes are brilliant in the light, but filled with a determined fire that makes you suddenly feel very safe despite watching him kill someone and the active gunfire bouncing all around you.Â
You wanted to trust him, but you also didnât want to be on the news or used as a cautionary tale for mothers to guilt their daughters with.Â
âI promise that nothing is going to happen to you.â
âHow can you guarantee that?!â
âBecause I donât break my promises.â The determined grit in his eyes hardens as they sweep over your face. âI will explain whatâs going on. But first I have to go talk to them.â He releases your face, but hesitates.Â
The man wasnât bothering to duck and cover, in fact each time a bullet ricocheted off the side of the dumpster he didnât even flinch, meanwhile the sour taste of bile was rising into your mouth and you were sure that you were going to throw up. Panic was setting in, and your heart rate was getting dangerously high as anxiety and fear flickered along your nerve endings.Â
Oh my sweet goodness heâs mentally unstable.
âActually.â He sighs and flashes an awkward smile. âI don't want to lie to you. Iâm going to go kill them. Donât move.â He reaches into the waistband at the back of his worn jeans and pulls out a gun.Â
Has he had that this whole time? HOW did I not feel it?Â
âWait what? Donât go out there!â Your fingers fist in the front of his jacket, the fear of him leaving you more than the fear of him murdering you. At this point it was either be killed by the beautiful stranger or killed by the other guys, and being killed by the other guys meant that youâd have to meet someone new and look where that had gotten you tonight.Â
âTheyâre not exactly going to leave on their own.â He cracks a smile despite the situation. âBut promise me youâre not going to move.â His smile turns into a concerned frown, eyebrows furrowing together as his eyes settle on you once more, steely and unyielding.Â
âI promise.â Your voice comes out shaky and not at all what you sound like. Truthfully you were surprised that you got anything to come out of your mouth that wasn't vomit.
He nods once.Â
When he leaves, you wait exactly three seconds, counting each of them out in your head before you take off in a dead run for the front door of Dukeâs bar and into the safety of the street beyond without looking back while hoping that all of this has just been a bad dream.Â

Coming back to the apartment feels surreal, crossing through the living room like a Salvador Dali painting, and finally closing your bedroom door and locking it is like a mirage.Â
You werenât sure how you made it back here, only that you did, and that was all that mattered.
Kay and Liza werenât home, predictably, but you would have tried to call both of them if you hadnât dropped your phone in the cluster fuck that was everything that happened an hour ago. Because on top of everything now you didnât have any way to contact your friends and let them know that youâre alive and okay. Â
Your body was still buzzing with the anxiety of everything that happened, mind going a mile a minute the longer you allowed it to bathe in the memories of being shot at and watching the stranger kill those men.Â
The stranger that somehow was able to trick your radar.
I just need to breathe, relax, and-Â
You turn around towards your bed expecting to go to sleep and forget all of it, but the thought stutters to a halt as you realize youâre not alone. The green-eyed stranger is standing there in the center of your bedroom. He is holding a bundle of your clothes in one hand and your empty school backpack in the other.Â
âWhat the fuck?!â You scream and reach for the Strawberry Shortcake bat your dad bought you when you moved out, hefting it high on your shoulder preparing to swing. âWhat the hell are you doing here?â
He raises an eyebrow at your awkward stance. âWhy are you holding a bright pink baseball bat?â
âAll the better beat the shit out of rapists who break into my apartment in the middle of the night!â
âWhat happened to murderer?â The end of his lips lift up in a smile too perfect to be real. He almost seems to be enjoying this, like he thinks youâre being cute and not accusing him of something terrible.Â
âThat too!â
He laughs at you, but then his smile slips into a frown.âWhy did you break your promise?â You don't understand why he looks like a kicked puppy at the thought that you broke your promise.Â
Of course I didnât keep it! I was running for my life to get out of the way of the millions of bullets pointed at my head!
âWhat?â
âYou promised that you would stay there and you didnât. You could have been killed.â Worry flashes in his gaze, and your eyes drop to the flecks of blood on the outside of his jacket that remind you of everything this man had done tonight.
âOh, well excuse me for breaking a promise I made to a murderer!âÂ
âIâm not a murderer.âÂ
âIf the boot fits!â You snap back. âYou showing up in my bedroom certainly seems plenty murdery. That and you going through my underwear drawer for a little souvenir.â Your eyes narrow in suspicion.Â
âA souvenir?â The man laughs at you again, his shoulders shaking. Heâs still wearing the same clothes he was in the alley, and again youâre momentarily stunned by how attractive he is.
âWhy else would you be going through my drawers? And how do you know where I live!?â
âThatâs not important right now.â The man shoves the bundle of your clothes into your backpack before moving back to the chest of drawers in the corner of your bedroom for another handful.
âWhat the fuck do you mean thatâs not important right now? And what the hell are you doing?â
âIâm packing you a bag.â
âWhat? Why? So itâll look like I ran away?!â
Oh holy fuck heâs still going to kill me!
You swing the bat as hard as you can, but the man raises the backpack to block your attack.Â
âCalm down Derek Jeter! Iâm not going to murder you, please stop saying that.â
âWhy?â
He frowns and shrugs his shoulders. âBecause itâs hurting my feelings a little bit.âÂ
âHurting your-â You shake your head in disbelief. âLook, I have no idea who the fuck you are or why you broke into my apartment but-â
âHi. Iâm Russell.â The man now identified as âRussellâ holds out his hand to try and shake yours.Â
Thatâs obviously a fake name.Â
You stare at him blankly. âAre you insane?â
âNo, I just told you, Iâm Russell. And we have to go.â He retracts his hand and begins to shove clothes into your backpack again.
âIâm not going anywhere with you, crazy! I have class in the morning and an exam in two days!â You heft the baseball bat higher on your shoulder as a silent threat.
Judging by the way he blocked your attack so easily a few moments ago, you didnât have high hopes. But you did think that if you screamed loud enough your elderly neighbor, aptly named Willy due to the many, many times heâd flashed Kay, Liza, and you âaccidentally,â would come over at least to see if you had any extra magazines to take back to his hoarder apartment that was stacked floor to ceiling with yellowed newspapers long out of print.Â
Russell sighs, and looks from the bat to you, shoulders relaxing a millimeter, but thereâs still something determined in his gaze. âI understand that youâre scared, but those guys, they saw you with me.â
âSo?â
âSo if I leave you here with no protection, theyâre going to come here and take you.â
âYou donât know that!â
âYes I do!â He replies, the edge of his voice is tinged with anger and frustration.Â
âHow?â
âLook!â Russell holds up a battered phone. Displayed on the cracked screen is a message thread of texts to an unknown number. Russell clicks on one of the pictures that was sent an hour ago, about the time the two of you met.
As it grows larger on the screen you recognize the two people in it. Itâs a picture of Russell and you kissing at the bar. Your eyes are closed, hands curved over his shoulders possessively, while you smile into his mouth.
The memory of the kiss sends a warm tingle down your spine as you remember how good the kiss was. It was definitely in the top ten, hell, it was number one.Â
Donât be seduced by his charm and good looks! You saw him kill someone tonight! Not to mention he probably killed those other guys that were shooting at you.
Russell swipes his finger over the screen again, this time the picture is of him and you talking, your face on full display. Youâre laughing at something Russell said with your right hand resting on the cool bottle of beer you never finished. Honestly, if anyone was seeing those photos for the first time it would look like Russell and you were together.Â
âYou took pictures of me!?â You shout. âYouâre a fucking freak!âÂ
âSweetheart, listen to me-â
âIâm not your Sweetheart. Youâre just some random murder that I met at a bar!â
The things that Iâve said tonight for the first time could be an SNL skit. Why me?
âFor the last time, I am not a murder! And I didnât take those photos. The men who were after me did.â
âSo? Why would they care about some random girl?â
âBecause they donât know youâre some random girl I met! They think that youâre important to me and until I figure out who they sent these pictures to, youâre not safe.â
âCanât you text them and say that you just met me tonight? That itâs a pure coincidence?! That Iâm not important to you.â You point at the cracked phone, waving your free hand frantically at it.
Russell laughs at your question. âAre you kidding? Do you think theyâre going to believe me?â
âI donât know! And how would they know where I live?â
âThe same way I knew how.â
That is a good point. How did he know where I lived?
You hesitate, gaze flicking over where Russell stands with your backpack in his hand, but another idea begins to wiggle from the depths of your mind. âWait. Is this some kind of kinky thing you do? Some fetish? Pretending to be a spy or that people are after you just to get yourself all hot and bothered?â
âWhat?â Now itâs Russellâs turn to look at you like youâre crazy.Â
You take that as confirmation. âIt is! Holy fuck, that is so messed up.â
Wow forget murderer, heâs an actual psychopath. Why the hell did I drop my phone?
Kay and Liza werenât going to be back tonight. Especially not if they think that you took âRussell,â if that really is his name, back to the apartment. You had no other way of contacting them, except with your laptop that was sitting closed on your bed behind where Russell was standing.Â
âWait a minute. Iâm not a spy.â
âExactly, thatâs the point! Youâre pretending to make me-â
âNo, Iâm not. I promise all of this is real!â Russell sighs frustrated. âI know that you donât want to believe me, but it isnât safe here. And I can protect you!â
âThatâs exactly what you would say to kidnap me!â
âSweetheart. I am not going to kidnap you, Iâm trying to keep you safe. I mean, if I have to kidnap you I will-â
Your eyes widen and you heft the bat high on your shoulder prepared to swing.
âSorry, that was a bad joke.â He holds up his hands in surrender, flashing an apologetic smile. âWhat would it take to make you believe me?â
It was the question that you had been contemplating since heâd protected you in the alley. You knew nothing about him, didnât know what he did for a living, and youâd only just learned his name. But despite everything that happened there was a little part of yourself that wanted to believe him. You wanted to believe everything he was telling you, well, not the part about you being in danger and the idea that people now wanted to kill you, but the part about being able to trust him.Â
You think about the way he made you feel at the bar, when he listened to you complain about your physics test and made you laugh. Youâd trusted him then, enough to go home with him or at least, try to go home with him.Â
âI donât know.â The bat slips a little bit from your shoulder with your honesty. âDo you have any character references?â
Russell cracks a smile. âIsnât it a little early for you to ask me about my old girlfriends? Donât think any of them would be willing to say anything good about me either.â
This time you can feel a little smile begin to tug at the end of your lips, one that Russell notices.Â
âI know that youâre scared.â He takes a tentative step forward. âBut I promise that I will explain everything to you, answer all your questions, but all I know is that youâre not safe here. And I canât in good conscience leave, if I know youâre in danger.â
The look in his eyes had the determined fire youâd seen many times tonight, but there was something honest about it. They saw through you, and even though you had spent most of the night terrified and believed him to be a murderer, you didnât think that someone like that would be so determined for you to go with him.Â
It felt like two parts of your head were at war. You wanted to trust Russell, you didnât think he was lying to you, but you had seen him kill those men. And there was an unfortunate part of you that worried he made all of this up to kidnap you.Â
But I think if he meant to do that⊠he would have jumped me the minute I walked into my bedroom, he wouldnât have said âhi.â
âI know this whole thing sounds crazy. But the last thing I want is for you to die because of something stupid I did. Please.â
You bite the inside of your cheek thinking about Kay and Liza. âIf I leave, what about my roommates? They live here too.âÂ
He rubs the back of his neck. âIâm not going to sugar coat it Sweetheart, thereâs always a chance that theyâll be hurt, but with you gone, thereâs also a chance that these guys will focus more on finding me.â
âSo basically you canât guarantee their safety?â
âNo.â He drops his gaze for a moment, but then he looks at you again. âBut I can guarantee yours and I donât want to take the chance with your life. And my brother is smart, maybe he can figure out a way to keep them safe too.â
You stand there for a moment contemplating what heâs saying, the memories of everything that happened tonight rising up in an unrelenting wave, not just cowering behind the dumpster, but the kiss the two of you shared, and the way he made you laugh.
I want to trust him. I donât think heâs lying, I donât think heâs going to hurt me. You think to yourself, and then the inevitable thought comes. I feel safe with him.Â
âDo you promise that your name is Russell and that youâre telling me the truth?â You ask one more time to make sure.
âYes.â
So you take a chance and hope to God that youâre not wrong.Â
âOkay.â You nod, lowering the bat entirely. âIâll go with you.â
He sighs in relief. âGood.â Russell holds out the backpack towards you. âYou should probably pack this. If I had my way, there wonât be much in here besides underwear.â
âYouâre such a guy.â You roll your eyes and take the backpack from him, but you can't help the smile that curls on the end of your mouth.
Russell returns it, pleased with himself that he'd gotten you to smile again. âThat's better than you accusing me of being a murderer.â
âJuryâs still out on that one.âÂ
âBut you have to admit⊠this did make you forget your physics test right?â
He's not wrong... but you donât think that this is better.

Written in the stars (forever on loop) Chapter two - Catch my breath (what else can I do?)
Pairing: eventual Poly! Chain x reader, platonic Wind & reader
Series Rating: T
Summary: Day two with the chain has its challenges. Thankfully, Epona and Wind are there to make things better. Four and Sky have a heart to heart while a late night talk with Warriors leaves you with some questions and thoughts.
Warnings: grief, cursing
Other: If I missed anything, please let me know
Previous masterlist. Next
Breakfast is your saving grace in the morning, especially because you need something to do that isn't focusing on everything that happened yesterday.
You sit by Sky again, though Wind sits on your other side.
Sky looks exhuasted, blinking blearily and having to stifle a yawn every so often. He's got puffy eyes... has he been crying? Maybe it was just a bad day...
No one else speaks to you or sits near you, though. There's a tense atmosphere you could cut with a very dull butter knife.
"So, what do you do back home?" Wind asks before stuffing a bite of his food in his mouth.
You smile politely, "I work, I listen to music, I talk to my friends and family. Nothing exciting. What about you?"
"I like to sail a lot." Wind says.
This isn't a surprise. He gives off pirate gremlin energy anyhow. It's good to know it is from a hobby and not just your own interpretation of what is apparently more than a video game.
You smile a little more real this time. "That's good, it's important to have hobbies. Do you live near the sea?"
"You know about the sea!" Wind declares excitedly.
You laugh a little, "Of course I do."
You can feel the way all the others look at you with strange gazes and furrowing brows or outright glares.
You focus your gaze on Wind, blocking out the others.
Wind looks absolutely delighted, though, his grin wide and bright. "No one else but Wild knows. You do, though!"
"I do." You agree easily.
The young teen is adoreable in the excitement that causes his ears to twitch a little.
Sky smiles too, "He's a fan of the sea."
"Maybe we can visit it." You offer.
Wind cheers, beaming at you. "I hope so!"
Time clears his throat to get everyone's attention. The air goes thick again around you.
You turn your gaze to the oldest, wondering yet again why he has the fierce diety marking on only half his face if he has them at all.
"We're going to keep looking for a town today, we need to get our new friends some supplies since they were caught unawares." Time says.
He hasn't looked at you. Most of them haven't looked at you. Not really.
You feel your face heat up a little. Embarrassment floods your being.
If you had known you were going to end up here, you would have prepared more!
"We should also probably see about finding a river or something soon." Warriors adds firmly.
The others agree with both sentiments.
Wind elbows you playfully, "Don't worry, we all got caught unawares at least once. I started my adventure by hitting things with sticks."
The teen gives a wink at the end, like he's telling you a secret.
You laugh, recalling that sequence in Wind Waker. Immediately, you feel guilty simply for having loved and played the games.
Apparently, the world of Hyrule is real.
Oh.
Right.
This is all so bizarre.
You played through what were probably horrible quests and memories for fun. (You didn't know! If you had known - breathe. You remind yourself to breathe.)
Last night's dreams were weird.
Everything is so different
"Don't overthink." Sky chides lightly although, it sounds like it's something he says on autopilot, his face twisting with an unreadable emotion.
Grief, maybe? But worry, too.
"Okay." You manage.
"Twilight, Wild, Wind, Legend, and Sky, you'll all look for a river. Warriors, Four, Hyrule, and I will take (Y/n) and look for a town." Time says.
No!
You don't want to leave Sky and Wind. They are the least tense!
At least you'll be with Four and Hyrule. They are far less intimidating than Time and Warriors.
"Don't worry," Wind whispers to you as he nudges your side lightly. "They're all big softies."
He gives you a dramatic wink.
You crack a weak smile. "Really??"
"Really." Wind assures.
"Thanks." You say softer.
The teen grins at you. He looks pretty eleated in general.
"Alright, when you are ready, we'll head out." Time says to you. He's finally looking at you, but his face is stony.
You acknowledge his words and work on finishing your food.
After you've eaten and everything has been packed up, the groups split up.
You are flanked by four men as you walk. Warriors and Four on either side of you with Time in the back and Hyrule beside him.
None of them talk except to tell you if you're turning. Their eyes never seem to be on you, but you swear they're watching.
The silence is strange. (Some strange subconscious part of you rails against the tense air around you. This is wrong!)
"So... uhm... what's with the portals?" You ask after a good twenty minutes of walking.
This seems like a solid start point. The silence is too much anyway.
The others seem to share a silent conversation around you. None of them look at you.
Warriors looks at you as he answers. "There is a Sahdow opening them and letting lose monsters of different eras."
You nod. That sounds like some Legend of Zelda stuff right there... You should probably stop thinking of this as a video game world.
Four sighs. "Of course we're all here because we're heroes."
"That makes sense... why am I here?" You ask, feeling as if you're in free fall without a parachute as far as information goes.
There's a beat of silence.
The men exchange glances around you, yet another silent converstion exchanging in seconds.
"We don't know." Time says evenly, a measured tone flowing in his voice. His gaze is still too heavy on you, as if he's daring you to do something.
"Okay." You manage.
Four offers you a slightly strained smile. "We'll figure it out."
His smile is wrong. His eyes are wrong. He dosenât believe in what he says, does he?
"I hope so."
Hyrule hums once. "Are you a hero where you're from? That might make it make sense if you are."
You laugh a little, startled at the notion. "No. No, my life back home is... boring enough."
Four and Warriors both look spooked by your laugh, looking at you with frowns. The latter looks a little angry, too, with pinched brows.
Okay. Maybe it was rude to laugh?
"Oh." Hyrule says.
"Boring can be good." Warriors offers after a moment, face fixing itself into an overly polite mask.
You smile weakly. "I guess so."
"Are you a royal then?" Hyrule asks.
You laugh again. "No. I'm definitely not."
The silence comes back, heavy and awkward. You don't bother trying to break it again.
There's something wrong in the air. You just can't place it. You have barely interacted with any of them!
At least Hyrule and Four just seem to avoid watching you. Or maybe it just feels that way because Warriors and Time won't stop - even if you don't catch them, you can feel it.
What is it with these heroes and the staring problem?
Yeesh.
Hopefully, when you see Wind again, He can lighten the mood.
-------
The trip to town was awkward, stilted, and almost painful. When you're dropped off at an inn to what for the boys to get the others, you are relieved.
You've gotten a travel pack with a place for your bed roll. You've also been given a few spare clothes, which is nice.
You are apparently to share an inn room with someone tonight.
Hopefully, it's Wind or Sky. They haven't glared at you or made you feel unwanted.
You settle on one of two beds, wondering what you have done to earn their cold shoulders. Did you... over step somehow?
Maybe they know about the video games? They aren't self-aware in the game, hopefully?
Nothing makes sense anyway.
There's a knock at the door before someone calls. "Hey, it's just me! We're roommates!"
Wind.
Thank goodness.
The door opens to reveal a grinning Wind.
"Did you have fun?" You ask.
The teen is practically bouncing. "I did! It was great, oh my goodness! Wild and Sky got tangled up in some roots, and we had to finish a mini dungeon!"
"That sounds... busy?"
"It was fun! We got some rupees, too."
"That's good!" You say a bit more cheerily.
The boy grins.
He asks you about your trip, and you just say it was okay, a little awkward, but not horrible.
Dinner is quick, and every time you try to make conversation with anyone but Wind they look pained by the attempt, and it peeters out.
Even Sky seems a little skittish about you during dinner, although his eyes look puffy again. Maybe he's going through something?
You sigh, deciding to go see Epona. Maybe she'll let you pet her?
Epona is at least less scared of you. She just sniffs your hand curiously.
As soon as she sniffs you, she's pressing her face into your hand insistently, as if asking for attention. Who are you to deny her?
She's sweet, at least.
"Such a good girl you are." You coo to Epona sweetly.
She isn't at fault for the tense atmosphere of the boys.
Petting her mane gently is relaxing in ways you hadn't quite expected. She's all but leaning into it, a few soft snorts here and there but otherwise seemingly content to be near you.
"Aw, I wish I had something to give you, sweetheart."
Epona just leans a little more into your touch.
"I'll just keep an eye out. Maybe we can find an apple or something for you."
You can feel a few others watching you, but you don't turn. It's much nicer here with Epona than with the heavy silence and strained attempts at conversation provided by the boys.
Although Wind is certainly picking up some slack there, he deserves some cookies or something.
"How'd you get to be so sweet, pretty girl?" You muse.
It's a nice break from havin to be around anyone. Epona is so gentle and sweet, at least with you. She's happy to let you pet her man and sctach behind her ears gently.
Animals are amazing.
-------
Sky and Four take to their room, both looking forward to getting away from the painful reminder you are. They know it's not your fault, you seem nice, but still...
Grief is funny sometimes.
The moment the door closes, Sky's carefully polite face is falling into twisting grief.
Four just flops himself onto his bed. His head hurts, pounding like a horribly novice out of step marching band is playing their show inside his skull.
It's too much.
Sky just leans against the door, sinking to the floor with his head leaning back.
"Why couldn't they look different?" Sky asks in a shaking whisper.
The question escapes his mouth on accident.
Four turns over, so he's staring up at the ceiling. "I don't know."
Sky dosenât turn. Instead, he just closes his eyes.
"It's not their fault." Four says, staring at the ceiling.
"No." Sky agrees. "It's not."
"I feel so bad for them." Four manages.
He does.
Against the grief and the anger and the stupid hope that twirl around his lost love, there's sympathy. Sympathy for the unexpected start of an adventure.
Sympathy for the lost look in their eyes at unfamiliarity scripts of hylian writing.
"Goddess... They looked terrified when they first saw me." Sky whispers into the room.
He uses that expression of terror to ground himself. It sounds bad. He knows it sounds bad.
But your terror is proof that you aren't his beloved sunshine.
His sunshine... never looked at him like that. They were never scared of him. Not when they saw him seal the imprisoned. Not when they saw him fight Demise.
They were never scared.
The expression of terror on your face chafes at his soul, but it helps him remember you aren't anyone else but a stranger in a scary situation.
"I think they're scared of Time." Four says.
Sky laughs weakly. "He is intimidating..."
"It's uncanny... They're identical in looks and personality."
"I know."
"How do you do it? I can barely look at them."
"I - can barely look away." Sky laughs, though it almost sounds like crying.
Four hums once, thoughtful mostly. His entire being, all of his colors, struggle under the grief you've stirred up. His empathize for his soul brothers is endless.
His grief is even more vast.
"Goddess. They'd be ashamed of me." Sky admits, "Dancing around a stranger trying to keep everything under wraps and falling apart as soon as the door shuts."
Four narrows his eyes, pushing up to lean on his elbows. His glare is trained on Sky. "Don't sully thier memory by assigning your shame to them."
"What?" Sky swallows, looking at Four with wide eyes.
The hero of skies looks like a kicked puppy, glassy eyes, and shaking form.
Four dosenât care. Not now. Not when the memory of their soulmate's memory is being treated so poorly.
"They wouldn't be ashamed of you for doing your best in a hard situation. They wouldn't blame you for having complex feelings. Your own guilt shouldn't be projected onto their memory." Four says, or maybe that's Blue and Vio in control for now. Who can tell?
They all miss you. Every piece of him misses you.
"How could they not be?" Sky asks. "I'm messing everything up!"
"Legend hasn't stopped glaring at them, Time just stares silently, I can barely look at them. Sky, you're being more normal about this than anyone!"
"Wind is doing much better."
"Wind hasn't lost them yet. Of course, he's doing better." Four rolls his eyes, pushing down the envy.
"I know. I... Why does he still have them when no one else does?"
"He's fourteen. There's plenty of time for him to get fucked over like the rest of us." Four snaps.
"I didn't mean- I just miss them."
"I know." Four sighs, closing his eyes. "I know... I think we all do."
Silence falls over the room, heavy but not uncomfortable. It's the silence that falls over loved ones when they've had a hard conversation and need to think but still feel safe together.
Four falls back against the bed, trying to remember the way his lover once held him. Perhaps it's self destructive, but when it helps him cope, he dosenât care.
He can feel the colors, his head is still pounding.
Blue is restless as ever, a rage at the reminder that you're gone. Anger that Sky could speak of your memory so poorly.
Green and Red are trying to calm it all down. They're trying to focus on the better times they had with thier lover.
Vio... is Vio. He's focusing on the facts again.
Like always.
Four focuses on his breathing, pretending that it's them here counting it instead of him.
Who knew trying to keep himself together would be so hard?
-------
You're outside trying to get some air after having the same dream from last night. The argument and lead up to something horrible in the dream is - draining.
The night air is chilly, but it's a nice relief from the stifling feeling of the bed.
Stars above you make out patterns you shouldn't be able to recognize, but you swear you see a set of stars that's supposed to be a harp. It isn't the harp constellation from your world, though. It's different.
You sit on the steps that lead up to the inn porch, leaning against the banister.
There's some sort of spinning string instrument tune stuck in your head, unplayable as the origin of the second and strange harp constellation.
There's the sound of the door opening and closing behind you. Probably another person in search of some air.
"What... are you doing our here?" Asks a man.
You turn, looking over your shoulder to see Warriors, still in his entire outfit, chain mail, and all.
His gaze is heavy, not as bad as Time's but strange as ever.
You sigh, trying to avoid tensing up at the sight of him. "I needed some air... I guess you do, too."
Warriors sighs, "You could say that."
"Don't let me stop you." You say, turning your head back to facing forwards and gazing out at the small town before you.
A lazy night breeze blows across you, ruffling your hair a little.
Warriors is silent behind you, a large presence. He's unmoving.
You're left wondering if he's still there for a moment.
It seems rude to check, though.
How he can be so still is beyond you, but you suppose that's probably a skill he picked up from the war. (A war you're not meant to know about.)
Warriors moves finally, walking until he's beside you. He stands there, unmoving again as he stares up at the stars.
"You shouldn't be out here without a weapon." He says finally.
You glance up at him. "Why? It's a small town."
"Ambushes can happen anytime anywhere."
"I can't say that's something I've had to worry about much." You admit. Which is true, for all the creeps and killers of your world... none of them are literal monsters.
Besides, you don't have a weapon right now. Why would you need one while traveling with the group?
"Count yourself lucky." Warriors tells you, "You should start worrying about it, though. Our group gets ambushed often."
You take a slow breath, trying to decide if you're supposed to respond or not. What do you even say to that?
He looks at you, face carefully neutral in a way that feels vaugley threatened. "You... aren't a fighter, are you?"
"Not the way you guys seem to be."
"You've never fought a war... have you?" Warriors asks in a soft voice.
He sounds- he sounds like your answer is important to this question. He sounds like you have some huge sway over what happens with this answer.
His face is still carefully blank.
"No. I've never fought in a war." You say slowly, trying to make sense of whatever this is.
Warriors let's out a slow, heavy sigh. "I hope it stays that way."
"Me too." You say.
You mean it, too. How could you not? Who hopes to get pulled into a war? Not you.
Moments pass, and thick silence seems to press in on you.
"I'm sorry." You say finally.
Warriors looks at you, face still unnervingly calm.
What life has he led that he's so good at neutral poker faces?
"Why?" He asks you.
That's a great question. Why are you sorry?
There's so many reasons.
You're sorry you played their games and enjoyed them.
You're sorry that you're here and slowing them down.
You're sorry that you came unprepared, and they had to step up.
You're sorry he's lost so much.
"I'm sorry I've been such a pain." You settle on. "I know I slowed you guys down and that you stepped up yesterday to help make sure I'm set up for whatever it is we've all been dragged into."
Warriors sighs while something heavy flashes through his eyes before it disappears. "You don't need to apologize. We weren't going to kick you aside."
"I guess. I'm still sorry."
"Do you know how many times I've heard these kinds of apologies?" He asks.
You shake your head. "No."
He looks up to the sky again. "Too many times. Too many people have told me they're sorry for things they can't control. That they're sorry for me doing something simple."
"Oh."
"Don't waste time or words on things like that." Warriors tells you with a stern look.
You would imagine it's a look he picked up as a captain.
"Okay." You breathe out softly.
"I mean it, (Y/n)." He says, though he sounds far away. It's like he's actually speaking to someone else.
Someone he lost.
"Okay." You say again softer.

Part One Forty
âIâm not sure about this,â Eddie says quietly.
âItâll be fine, and you need to learn, itâs been over a year, what if you fall in the pool?â
âIâm not gonnaâ,â Eddie tells him stubbornly.
âYou canât know that. We have to keep you safe.â Itâs mid afternoon on a weekday, so the place is pretty deserted. Steve looks around the changing room real quick, but itâs definitely empty. He pulls Eddie close by the hem of his shirt, kissing him softly on the lips, âyouâre going to do fine.â Eddie had spent the first six months of last year concentrating on basic motor function and gaining weight, not to mention getting a pretty good grasp on a whole language, learning to drive, learning to play guitar, plus all the other stuff heâs gotten up to. And then suddenly he had a job and Eddie made friends with Chrissy, there was all that stuff with Owens, and before Steve really knew it, it was too cold again to use their pool.
Eddie really needed to learn how to swim without a tail.
Eddie follows Steve out of the changing rooms and to the edge of the pool, âow ow ow,â he picks his way carefully along the tile.
âTheyâre not that bad,â the anti slip ridges in the tile feel a little weird, but not painful. Eddie just glares at him.
âNo one else has a shirt on,â he whispers when he finally makes it to Steve, but he needs to wear it because of the no nipples and no belly button thing.
Thereâs like two other people in the pool, both older guys swimming laps, âno one cares babe,â Steve whispers, before sitting on the edge and slipping in, the water only coming up as far as his middle. âIn you get.â
âThis is stupid,â Eddie says as he copies Steve, following him into the water, his trunks ballooning a little with air and the material of his shirt darkening and clinging to his skin.
âEveryone should know how to swim,â Steve tells him for about the fiftieth time.
âLegs are stupid,â Eddie grumbles.
Steve squats down, bringing the water to chin level, âokay come on weâre going to stay right here, now float.â
Eddie does, flopping over, Steveâs hand under his middle to steady him and stop him from sinking if he panics, âgood now...kick with your stupid legs.â
âIâm so tired,â Eddie sits curled up on the bench in the changing room while Steve gets dressed.
âYou did good though,â and Steve is now confident that Eddie won't actually drown if he falls in some water.
Eddie breathes out a long sigh, âIâm so slow now.â
âYeap, just a regular human guy. How awful for you.â Eddie manages to muster a scowl, âgo in the cubicle and get dressed, come on.â
Eddie huffs, but he goes.
Steveâs finger tips leave trails of glittering veils through the air. Thereâs a sound, far off and diffuse, water, like the steady swish of waves. The air is sparkly, the light soft, and every breath fills his lungs so fully and wonderfully he canât help but feel it.
âStevie.â
It comes from far away, and Steveâs more aware of it than heâd like to be, really. He kind of wants to stay here.
âStevie, come on, I gotta go.â
Steve grumbles, the dream falling away as he nuzzles into the pillow. He cracks one eye open, the shape of Eddie hovering over him in the dark room.
âYouâre so cute when you just wake up. Your face is all folded up, like an empty chip packet.â
Steve grunts, âsâearly.â
âI know, we have to deliver the bouquet and stuff, and then decorate the church. I wanted to say goodbye before I went. Chris will be here in a minute.â
Steve grumbles, âokay. Love you.â
âI love you, tooâ and then Eddie is covering Steveâs face with smacking kisses while he tries to escape back beneath the covers.
Eddie bounds off the bed and shouts, âwinning!â as he clomps down the stairs.
Steve goes back to sleep.
Steve has his elbows resting on the counter, watching listlessly.
âStop leaving the sink full of water,â Robin bitches from the bathroom doorway.
âIt wasnât me,â Steve mumbles his protest, not having the energy to fight it.
âUh hu, itâs one of the many other employees we have here today,â she finishes drying her hands with the paper towel, throwing it in the trash before she lets the door swing shut behind her.
Steve sighs, watching the empty car lot through the glass doors. Robin rolls past on the office chair, then pushes off against the opposite wall and rolls back again, âwhatâs up with you?â
Steve sighs again, âyou ever wonder where...like. Where youâre going? Do you ever think that it might just be this, but forever.â
âI retract my question, go have your midlife crisis some place else.â
Steve bumps his head against the counter, âif this is my midlife Iâm dead before I hit forty five, thanks Robs.â
âIs it the crushing and inevitable knowledge that youâre in a dead end job but all the kids are definitely going to go to college when they graduate?â
âOoof. Nope. Too much, back it up a bit.â
âOkay, how about you still live with your parents?â
âStill quite close to the bone there Robs, thanks, and I donât live with my parents-â
âObjection. Technicality.â
â...because they arenât there,â Steve finishes weakly.
âUh hu.â
âAnd you, also, live with your parents, I cant help but note.â
She shrugs, âyeah, but not for long. Wait,â she shuffles closer, pulling the chair along, looking up at Steve, being serious for once, âis this because Iâm going to college? Because itâs not for a few months yet, and itâs not too far away! We can still see each other on weekends, you can visit-â
Steve sighs, turning away, âNo. Yes. Maybe. I donât know I just...everyone has direction. Even Eddie with his GED. Heâs doing something, you know? Him and Chrissy are growing her business, she has this whole five year plan thing.â
âYeah, sheâs told me about it...in detail...thereâs a color coded diagram. But how is that going? The studying thing?â
âWell, heâs only really been working through the books for a couple of weeks, Nancy helped him apply for a couple of evening classes, did I tell you?â Robin shakes her head, âyeah, Math and English, classes start soon, just a couple of nights a week for a semester.â
âThatâs so good!â
âYeah,â Steve feels himself soften, talking about Eddie, âitâs really good. Nancy and all the kids said theyâll help him study.â
âBut you donât have a thing? And you want one?â
âI donât know I just...feel like I should be aiming higher than Family Video. But I donât...I really donât want to go back to school or do college or anything like that, it was never my strong suit, you know?â
Robin gets up to ferret under the desk, pulling out a newspaper, âwell then, lets look.â
They have three adds circled when Eddie calls, Steve gets part way through the Family Video spiel when Eddie interrupts him, âStevie? Can I use the car tonight?â
Steve flicks through his internal calendar a second, âI promised Iâd take the kids to the arcade, what do you need it for?â
âI was at the place, you know, centerpieces for the reception,â Steve doesnât really know, but he knows this wedding has been a lot of work for both Eddie and Chrissy, a job Chrissy wouldnât have taken on if it was still just her at the shop. But with Eddieâs help, they handled it, and itâs probably going to lead to more of this sort of thing now they know they can do weddings and stuff, âand there was a flyer, a band looking for a guitarist. I called the number and the guy, Gareth, heâs really cool!â
âRight...you want to go meet them?â
âThey have practice tonight, I said I only have an acoustic now but they said they could listen and see. Maybe I could get an electric with my savings?â Steve can hear Eddieâs excitement about this practically vibrating down the phone.
âHow about I drop you, go get the kids, then come and get you after I drop them home? Weâll probably only be at the arcade a couple of hours anyway.â
âYou sure? A lot of, you know, there and back.â
âI know, itâs fine. But you sort the times out with the kids, walkie them when they finish school, okay? Iâll be home around four.â
Eddie hums down the phone, âmaybe I should get a car?â
Steve thinks for a second, because, yeah, that would give Eddie more independence, but realistically running another vehicle costs money and they have been managing with sharing the beemer, âwe might need to think about cost.â
Eddie hums again, âI think thereâs going to be more work with Chrissy. But. Yes, okay. Talk later?â
âSure babe.â
Steve pulls into a driveway, the garage door open despite the cold, and a drum kit already set up, three guys milling around inside. Eddie is practically getting out of the car before Steve has it in park, hefting his guitar out of the back seat, the excitement coming off him in almost palpable waves.
Well, either that or they do have mind powers, Steve doesnât know, but it makes him think for a second as he climbs out at a much more sedate pace. Eddieâs already saying hello to Gareth, and now Steve is here, he recognizes these guys from school. Garethâs already giving him some side eye, which, great.
Because Steve, at some point or other, was probably an absolute prick to these dudes, or at least, a prick to their friends or other band nerds or whatever, âthis is Steve,â Eddie is saying.
Itâs almost painful when Gareth replies, âyeah, we know who that is,â in a tone that even Eddie canât possibly miss.
Itâs suddenly quiet, and suddenly incredibly fucking awkward, the other two guys still in the garage are watching Steve wearily, âIâll be back in a few hours for Eddie, that cool?â
âI donât know man, is it?â And Gareth is now looking at Eddie a little uncertainly, like Eddie is...a bully simply by association.
Steve just shakes his head and backs down, âIâll see you in a bit,â he tells Eddie, and high tails it out of there. He prays, vaguely, on the way to pick up the kids that those dudes wonât associate Eddie now with Steveâs behavior at school. He second guesses himself all the way to the arcade, Dustin chirruping in his ear, should he have tried to straighten things out? Staying when they clearly still think heâs a massive prick, or worse, actually a danger to them, didnât feel like the right thing to do.
He remembers smashing Jonâs camera, the whole school would have known about that. The fights he got into. Every time he intimidated someone, surrounded by his sad little army of dickhead jocks. Every shitty thing heâs ever done might just have come back to bite him. Well, worse, if Steve was taking it, it would be fine, he deserves it...but if Eddieâs now being treated badly because heâs friends with Steve well that...that feels shitty.
Steve tries to remember Gareth at School, or Jeff...or the third kid that Steve recognizes but canât place. Robin would know, heâs pretty sure they were all in band together. He tries to remember if he did anything specifically to any of those guys but he...canât. He shoved so many kids into open lockers over the years that heâs pretty sure he probably got one of them at some point. Odds are not in his favor, at least.
Steve prays vaguely while watching the kids play games that theyâre bigger men than Steve and they will give Eddie the benefit of the doubt. Besides, itâs Eddie, and he can win pretty much anyone over.
Steve hopes.
Steve pulls into the drive, killing the engine. The garage doors are mostly shut, it is still January and fucking freezing. Steve sits and stares absently at the slither of light escaping out from beneath the door. It feels like itâs been dark for hours already, and Steve is caught squinting when the door slides open unexpectedly and the light blinds him a little. Eddieâs sitting on a roughed up couch, sipping something orange out of a glass, his acoustic cradled on his knee. Steve takes a deep breath, and debates getting out of the car.
Eddie makes the choice for him, he gets up, leaving his guitar lent against the arm of the couch, and comes around to the drivers side. Steve opens the door to speak to him, âokay?â
Eddie frowns at him, then looks back at the guys for a second, âStevie? They told me things about...about you before and I donât think theyâre true-â
âTheyâre true.â Eddie really frowns then, but what's worse is the clear disappointment.
âI didnât...I said there was a mistake?â Eddie says gently, hopeful to the last, âwhen Chrissy said you used to be a prick I didnât...I didnât understand then, what she meant. But when they said about...well it made me remember.â
Steve feels a bit sick, âI canât change it andâŠitâs no defense but...I was stupid, then...I didnât understand how much I was hurting people. Iâm sorry.â
âDonât say it to me,â Eddie huffs a little, looking away, and disappointing Eddie feels like the worst thing in the world.
âNo, yeah, youâre right,â Steve climbs out of the car. And the three guys watch him wearily enough that it really hammers home to Steve just how fucking horrible heâd been some times.
He knows heâs stalling, and he knows heâs fiddling with his hair and he makes himself shove his hands in his pockets instead. All eyes are literally on him, and Steve looks to the side, Eddie looking back at him, eyes big and brown and hopeful. Steve huffs a breath. He can do this.
Heâs been tortured by Russians, thereâs no way this will be worse. Probably.
âI...was a terrible person. I did shitty things that...absolutely no one has to forgive me for, and I know this is probably way too little way too late. But I am sorry, and I...do get it now. And I regret it. And Iâm sorry.â
Eddieâs smiling at him, at least, looking encouraging. And kind of proud.
âSo...yeah, I get the damage is done, and I canât...change it. But Eddieâs a great guy okay? And heâs real excited about being in your band so, yeah, thank you, for having him over. Thatâs...cool of you.â
âRight,â says Gareth, looking over at the guy Steve is pretty sure is called Jeff, âwell thatâs...I mean. Thanks. I guess.â Jeff just shrugs.
Steve thinks his body might cave in on itself with how painful this is. He vaguely hopes that he will just disappear into the ground to escape.
âOkay,â Eddie finally says to break the silence.
âYeah,â Jeff says, âwhatever, same time next week Eds?â
âYes!â Eddie has the biggest grin on his face.
âAnd remember about that electric, yeah?â
Steve makes himself scarce, waiting in the car as the guys say goodbye to Eddie. He watches as Eddie packs away his guitar, getting a round of fist bumps as they wrap up. Theyâre all smiling and laughing, relaxed again now that Steveâs out of the way, so Steve figures itâs all good.

Caught by Surprise(VicPelovaXCatleyReader)

A/N: this Is just my own experience with it. Can look different for someone else.
Warnings: seizures(epilepsy)
Summary: after being seizure free for years they are back & your girlfriend is really concerned.
You are on the trainings pitch with your team. That included your girlfriend Vic. You were doing drills.
It was no secret that you enjoyed drills and that you were competitive. So when you stopped in the middle of the dribbling challenge everyone was confused & some even concerend. You were smacking your lips together repeatingly. Your sister Steph was the first one to react. Running over to you. Just holding you in place. Which raised even more confusion. All of sudden your girlfriend was by your side as well. It took around a Minute before you looked at Steph and then at Vic.
"you okay Babe?" Vic asked. Steph rubbed your back gently.
"y-yeah!" You answered.
"what happened?" Katie asked.
"seizure." You admitted.
"she used to have them when she was younger!but they stopped around 6 years ago." Your sister explained.
"i was diagnosed with epilepsy when i was 8 years old." You told them.
"why didn't you tell anyone on the Team?" Lia wanted to know.
"cause i don't have them anymore! The seizures i mean! I didn't want to anyone to think i was broken!" You explained.
"we don't think you are broken. we just want to know what to do in case something happens!" Caitlin told you.
"okay let's give y/n a few minutes to rest. We can talk about this later! Vic if you want to go inside with her feel free to do so!" Renée told your girlfriend.
"yes. Babe let's get inside and sit down for a bit. Maybe have something to eat!" Vic answered.
"i am fine really." You replied but still went inside with her.
You sat in the Lunch break room with her. In fact you sat in her lap. Cuddled up to her while sipping on a bottle of water.
"are you sure you are okay?" your girlfriend asked you, holding you close. You smiled at her.
"i am. It's a weird feeling afterwards, that i almost forgot about cause it has been such a long time!" You admitted.
"is there anything i can do when this happens again?" Vic asked. You played with her fingers gently.
"Just what Steph did. Hold me and be there for me when it's this kind of seizure." You explained. Telling her about different kind of seizures and what to do If one of them is ever gonna show up.
"that sounds scary, not gonna lie! But i will always be there for you. Because i love you so very much!" She told you. You pecked her lips.
"Love you too Babe!" You replied. "Thank you for caring so much! I will have a talk with my doctor about it just in case and i would like if you would come with me." You let her know.
"whenever you need me i will be there! Always and forever!" Vic whispered out, holding you close.

hear me out, one of the girls snuck a controllable vibrator/toy onto the plane in their luggage. who? thatâs up to you.
said person uses it on you, as you do your daily tasks surprising you randomly, and other members of the team become awfully concerned about you wobbling around whimpering.
after hours of torment, they take it out of you, licking it up and fucking you afterward⊠mmmmpjhâŠ.. <3

it wasn't your idea. frankly, nothing that revolved around exhibitionism would ever be your idea. but, just because you got roped into something doesn't mean you were reluctant.
the idea sounded thrilling when shauna first suggested it. she liked having a way to claim you publicly, even if the goal was not to alert anyone to the fact that you've got a vibe shoved deep in your cunt. but you were having second thoughts.
you stumbled around camp like you were drunk. everytime you tried to lift up a log or handle a piece of meat, you were always either on the verge of or already dropping it. some of the girls would give you weird looks, but not say anything. others would make little comments like, "are they okay?" "what are they up to? fucking butterfingers." "they need to be more careful." "this is so fucking weird."
their judgment rang in your ears. but you were required to not remove that vibe until shauna decided to herself. and if you removed it before she was ready, there would be consequences. those consequences included not being able to orgasm for a whole week.
you're sweating throughout the day. the weather isn't even that brutal, but you feel like you're caught in a heat wave. you wipe your forehead, letting a groan slip from your mouth occassionally.
oh, holding back the moans was the hardest part. sometimes, that vibe would perfectly hit your g spot and make you shudder. it was too good. you wanted the sexual torment to end. why did shauna never go easy on you?
your knees are wobbly and you can barely stand up straight. but finally, shauna calls you over to get you alone. she orders you to sit down against the tree and spread your legs. you obey her, hoping she'll finally offer you some relief.
she slides your shorts down and is greeted by a giant wet spot in your underwear. shauna smirks, tracing her finger on the puddle before slipping your underwear down as well.
your pussy's throbbing and sore. it's redder than a tomato and even touching it slightly makes you jump. shauna removes the pink vibrator, licking a strip up your tender pussy.
she cleans off your slick as your thighs hold her head in place. you whimper, tempted to tangle her hair with your fingers. but you try to remain optimistic that shauna will give you exactly what you asked for.
"can't tell what's wetter," shauna moans. "the vibe or that pretty pussy of yours?"
you don't respond, only gasping and releasing those moans that weren't able to exit hours ago.
"don't get so worked up just yet," shauna coos. "you'll get my fingers soon."

The one where you fall in love with a pirate
Hyung line X fem reader
Genres and warnings: short imagines, fluff, mature language, humor, so many kisses
Word count: 4k

I've been on a roll with our hyung line, and I can't stop thinking about a pirate au. Maknae line will be out shortly.
Lots of love, and happy reading X
Hongjoong
Your relationship with the Captain has always been a bit strained. He wasn't too fond of a female crewmate, but his fellow pirates adored you. He, for the life of him, couldn't understand why. Women weren't meant to be out on the sea, and you'd proved his point many times. You were constantly sea sick, the rocking causing your nausea. You hated getting wet, which happened a lot on a pirate ship. You also hated how out of touch you were with the world all the time.
Sure, you cooked for them. You even payed attention to all of their preferences, always making a variety of dishes. You kept the deck pristine, and the boys now had clean clothes, sewn together where needed, always neatly stacked in their cupboards.
Wooyoung pleaded with him to take you in, stating how cruel the townspeople were towards you. Your father was a gambler, and people were after you to pay his debts.
To this day, Hongjoong doesn't know what came over him to say yes. Maybe it was the terror written so clearly on your face, or the bruises visible on your arms. Or the fact that you were... Pretty. Soft spoken, well mannered, and a much needed addition to their ship.
He would never admit it out loud.
One night, he couldn't sleep, so he went out on the deck to get some fresh air. He was surprised to see you there, sitting on a barrel in your nightgown. The flimsy material wasn't enough to keep you warm, he thought. Nights in the open sea could get extremely cold.
Without much thought, he took off his coat and placed it over your shoulders.
You weren't aware of his presence until he did so, and it startled you for a second.
"Oh, Captain! You don't need to do that, you'll freeze!" You were about to take it off and give it back, but Hongjoong stopped you, placing his warm hands over your cold ones.
"No need. I can handle it. You on the other hand..."
He took in your red cheeks and pale lips, your whole body shivering, teeth almost clicking together.
You chuckled and wrapped the coat tighter around yourself.
"You're right. Silly me, I was in such a rush..." You stopped suddenly, turning your head away.
Hongjoong leaned on one of the pillars, gaze fixed on you.
"In a rush? Care to explain?"
You swallowed, taking a deep breath to calm your nerves. Hongjoong was intimidating, and you experienced first hand why the called him the 'Sea Monster' in your town. However, the amount of care he put into his crew, the sheer worry on his face whenever one of them wasn't okay... It told you much more about the stoic Captain than he liked to show.
"Well... I kind of... Have nightmares. They aren't that bad anymore. I think being on this ship with all of you helps." You glanced at him, noticing how he hasn't moved an inch, paying attention to your words.
"Sometimes I need to feel present. I need to know that it was just a dream. So the cold kind of... It lets me know I'm here, and I'm safe."
You stood up and turned towards him fully.
"Does that sound weird?"
There was a pause between you. No words were said, but your eyes never left eachother.
"No, it doesn't sound weird. But getting hypothermia isn't the best solution, you know?"
Did he just joke around with you? That's a first. Before you could help it, a giggle left your mouth. You quickly covered it with your hand, eyes widening.
"Am I amusing you, Miss Y/N?"
Hongjoong's tone was relaxed, and you felt like he was almost mocking you, but not in a bad way.
"Ah, no, no! Sorry! It's just... I haven't talked to you like this... Ever. So, you know..." You trailed off, not knowing what to say.
The Captain made his way over to you, now inches apart. He took in every little detail of your face, as if he finally gave himself permission to indulge in his curiosity towards you.
"We talk. You just don't listen to me. Maybe you find me boring compared to the others?"
You flailed your arms around, shaking your head.
"Of course not! You're not boring! I mean, your the Captain! You always tell these amazing stories, and you're so kind towards everyone, even though you don't like to admit it. You... You saved my life that day, and I'm forever in your debt."
Hongjoong didn't know what came over him. One moment he was watching how your chest rose and fell after your energetic exclamation, and in the other, his hands were on your cheeks, lips firmly planted against yours.
You made a noise of surprise, not expecting the kiss, but you certainly didn't mind. In your head, it kind of happened differently, but now that you were wrapped in each others embrace, you wouldn't want it any other way.
There was no saying who pulled away first, but you were both breathing heavily, and your giggles filled the air again.
"Oh my Captain... That was..."
"Yeah... I... Y/N..."
You shushed him, grabbing his cheeks between your palms, placing another sweet kiss on his lips.
That night, in the warmth of his embrace, you were rooted in the moment, and it was the best one in your life so far.
Hongjoong just had to make sure the next one would be even better.
Seonghwa
Of course he had the task of keeping the princess occupied. He figured they'd make Yeosang do it, but he would have probably freaked you out with his staring.
Seonghwa watched as you shifted in your seat, back straight, hands crossed in your lap. You were the epitome of royalty, and you stood out like a sore thumb in the dingy old room on their ship.
For someone who's just been kidnapped and held at ransome, you seemed pretty calm.
"How much money did you ask for?"
Seonghwa's eyebrows furrowed.
"Excuse me?"
You turned towards him, your stance as perfect as ever.
"Money? You did ask for it in favour of giving me back? Otherwise this would be a ridiculous way of courting me."
The pirate stood flabbergasted. A smile was about to make it's way on your face, but you managed to control your emotions.
"Well..." He started, voice a bit unsure. "Our Captain does the deals, but I assume you're worth a pretty penny."
You nodded, and he thought you'd go back to being poised, but you managed to surprise him again.
You shot up from your seat, startling the poor man. The crown you wore was ripped from your head, and you placed it in front of Seonghwa.
"Here, this is worth more than a pretty penny. Go give it to your captain, and ask him if he needs a maid or a cook on this ship."
"What?"
Seonghwa watched the woman, noticing how her expression hasn't changed. She was dead serious about this.
"You heard me. I'm sick and tired of living like Rapunzel! You probably don't know who that is, but nevermind. I want to sail around the world, go on adventures, you know? I don't want to marry a prince, and I cannot stand being in dresses like this anymore!"
Seonghwa didn't know whether to be scared or turned on by you. You were a strong willed woman, and you weren't backing down. For some reason, he couldn't help but feel intrigued. Maybe keeping you with them wouldn't be such a bad idea?
He stood up from his seat and grabbed the crown from the table. Without another glance towards you, he went to the door.
"I'll see what I can do."
.
.
"Oh come on! You literally don't let me do anything fun around here!"
"Yeah, well, that's because you get into trouble more than I anticipated. Now let go!"
You and Seognhwa were playing tug of war with your favorite bag. The boys went out into town to gather supplies for your next trip, and you wanted to go with them. Seonghwa was stuck babysitting you again, and he wouldn't let you leave.
"Please! Do you hate me? Do you not want to see me happy! Come on Hwa!"
It's been about three months since you ran away with them, leaving your castle and princess status behind. Seonghwa asked you from time to time if you regret your decision, but the answer was always a strong 'No'.
"Princess, I've about had it with you! Can you please just let go and sit still for once!"
Now, that wasn't the tone of voice he usually used with you. He was accustomed to your antics, and he let you do whatever you wanted, but he never once sounded as serious about saying no as now.
You slowly loosened your grip on the strap, and you could tell something was wrong with him.
"Hwa? Hey, I won't go. See? Here's the bag, take it. I'll stay on the ship."
He only nodded before turning around and marching to the other end of the deck. You quickly followed after him, trying to look at his face, but he wouldn't turn your way.
"Seonghwa? I know I'm a bit tough to deal with, but something's up with you. Wanna tell me before we start a guessing game?"
His hands gripped the railing tightly, and he tried to calm down enough to look at you. Seonghwa knew his fear was a bit irrational, but it wouldn't go away. He also knew he had to tell you before you started freaking out.
So, he took a deep breath and turned to look into your eyes.
"Listen. I know you love it here. I know you love the boys, the ship, the food Wooyoung makes, the strange animals San sometimes brings aboard... But what if..." His gaze fell to the floor.
"What if, one day, you venture out into the city and realise you miss it? What if you want to go back?"
Seonghwa paused, noticing how quiet you were. As if sensing his unease, you came closer and took his hands in yours.
"Go on." You whispered.
"I can't let you go, Y/N. I... You've made me so happy. Even though you give me constant headaches, I wouldn't want it any other way."
"Oh Seonghwa..."
Before he could tell you to let him down easily, he was surprised with your lips pressed onto his. He quickly gathered himself, wrapping his strong arms around your waist, getting lost into the passionate kiss between you.
You pulled away first, and he was about to chase after you, not wanting it to be over, but you placed a finger on his lips.
"I just want to say... I will never leave you. Yes, I love exploring the city, but I've found my home now."
You leaned your forehead onto his.
"You are my home, Seognhwa."
After that, he let you wander off as much as you wanted, because he knew you'd always come back to him.
Yunho
"Hey! Get back here you son of a bitch!"
Yunho never ran so fast in his life before. His legs were about to give out, but thank goodness the dock was close.
You see, he may or may not have gotten into a slight altercation with a merchant.
The man wanted Yunho to pay for the compass, whereas Yunho... Well... Didn't.
Now, he was in a chasing match with said merchant, as well as three of his friends. They were surprisingly slow, and he thought he was in the clear until he bumped into something.
Or more precisely, someone.
The basket you held flew up in the air, and it was raining apples all around.
"I think he went that way boss!" The men were coming closer, and Yunho cursed from his position on the floor. You on the other hand dusted off your skirt before kicking the man in the leg.
"Hey, I'd say you have about five seconds before they catch you, so why don't you hide in my shop?"
His eyes widened, and he quickly got up and followed after you. You ushered him behind the counter and motioned for him to stay quiet.
There was noise outside, and the door of your shop opened.
"Hello there Miss Y/N. You didn't happen to see a mongrel with long legs running around?"
Yunho glanced at you from his crouched position, and you seemed casual enough.
"No, I can't say that I have. Sorry gentlemen."
They grumbled, but soon enough, the shop was enveloped in silence. You glanced outside, seeing them going back where they came from.
"All clear now big boy. You can come out."
Yunho poked his head up, and you chuckled. The tall man gave you a youthful vibe, and the smile on his face made you stop in your tracks.
"That was a close one. Thank you, little lady. I'm sorry about your apples."
You waved him off while he curiously looked around your bookshop.
"Wow, quite a collection. Are you the owner?"
"My father is. I just help around when I can. Now..." You stepped closer to him, examining his handsome features.
"What did you do? That was one hell of a chase."
Yunho laughed, but he stopped abruptly to check his pockets. He let out a sigh of relief as he took the small compass out. He extended his hand and held it over to you.
"Oh, wow. Did you steal it?" You watched as he nodded, expression almost sheepish.
"I didn't bring any money with me, and I know my Captain wouldn't let me go back for it because we're in a hurry, so..."
He trailed off, but you got his point.
"Ahh... I see. Well, in that case you might want to hurry to your ship before Mister Jung finds you."
His eyes widened and he rushed past you towards the door. You were almost sad to see him go.
"Thank you, again. I wish you all the best!"
He was out before you could reply, but you followed after him to watch as he ran down the street, an apple from your basket in his hand as well.
"What a silly boy..."
.
.
It's been about a month since your encounter with the gentle giant, as you called him. You couldn't stop thinking about his handsome face, and it made you sad every time. You figured he was a pirate by the way he dressed, and he only confirmed it when he mentioned his ship.
Your father always knew you were a free spirit, and he was sad you chose to stay in the city and spend your days in the bookstore. He knew you felt uneasy about leaving him, but he couldn't convince you to change your mind. That is, until he found a young man curiously peeking through the shop window.
The tall man came inside, and he could sense his nervousness in the air.
"Hello there... Is... Is the little lady somewhere around here?"
Your father smiled. "Oh, my daughter. She went out to get us some fruit. You're welcome to wait inside."
Yunho nodded, and went over to one of the shelves to browse. It didn't take long for you to return, and you almost dropped the basket of pears you were holding.
"Oh..."
Yunho turned towards you, a big smile spreading across his face.
"Hey there! Long time no see!"
You glanced at your father, and he nodded slightly before smirking. After that, he stood up and went to the back to give you some privacy.
"Yeah, long time... What are you doing here?"
You placed the pears on the counter, offering one to... Well you didn't know his name.
"Well, I... I had to go and settle my debt with Mister Jung. I also..."
He took the fruit from your hand, fingers brushing yours. You looked into each other's eyes, unconsciously coming closer.
"I had to see you again. I know it might sound crazy, but I can't stop thinking about you, little lady."
Yunho leaned in slightly, his voice almost a whisper.
"What's your name? I need to know the name of the girl of my dreams. Mine's Yunho."
"I'm Y/N." You managed to mumble, eyes still fixated on his.
"Say, you two, why don't you go back to our house and start packing Y/N's bags?"
You let out a startled noise, and turned around to look at your father. He was standing behind the counter, a wide smile gracing his features.
"Dad? What..."
"Yunho, I assume you're here to ask my daughter to come with you, is that right? I know how you pirates get."
Yunho stood frozen, surprised at how easily her dad got him figured out. He was right, he did come to ask Y/N to travel with him. His life was on the sea, has been for a long time, but she... She was something he felt was missing.
"I can really go?" You went towards your father, not believing what was happening.
He gently placed his arms around you in a hug, whispering into your ear.
"You were never meant to love a mundane life, my sweetie. Go now, before I become too sentimental."
It wasn't long after that your bags were packed and you were waving at your father from Yunho's ship. As the town you grew up in got smaller, your eyes filled with tears.
A pair of strong arms wrapped themselves around your waist, and a kiss was placed on top of your head.
"Everything okay little lady?"
You turned around in Yunho's embrace, placing your hands on his chest. Without much thought, you got on your tiptoes and placed a soft kiss on his lips. He stood frozen for a moment before his arms tightened around you, deepening the kiss.
When you finally broke apart, you placed your head above his heart, listening to the steady beats.
"Everything is perfect."
Yeosang
Yeosang loved being a pirate. He loved the freedom he had, the laughs he shared with his shipmates, who he now viewed as brothers. He loved everything about his life. Apart from the times they had to wreak havoc in a random town.
They tried to bring justice where they could. Once they found out about groups doing harm on the townspeople, they intervened in no time.
Tonight wasn't any different from their usual agenda, if he excluded you.
They were seated in one of the more problematic bars in town. Hongjoong told them the job was simple - Get in, take out the bad guys, get out. There was one man, Han Sehun, and he was known for intimidating the lower class people into giving him their well earned salaries, as well as harassing women.
That's where you came into the picture. You were working the night shift at the bar tonight, and you hated it every time. Sehun was adamant on making your life hell, but you couldn't complain because you needed the job. Your parents were long gone, and there wasn't anyone in town you were close with.
You'd be lying if you said you didn't notice the handsome men making an entrance. You could tell there was something different about them.
One in particular caught your eyes the most. He had a blonde mullet, and he seemed like the calmest of them all. As if he could sense your eyes on him, he turned his head, but you managed to look away in time.
"Yeosang, stop staring at the pretty lady. You'll scare her." Wooyoung chuckled after pinching Yeosang's cheek.
He swatted his hand away.
"I'm not staring."
Wooyoung smirked. "Sure you aren't."
Without another word, Wooyoung stood up and went over to you. He smiled at you, showing you eight fingers and motioning to their table. You nodded, giving him a thumbs up.
Yeosang was nervous all of the sudden. He knew they were on a mission, so what was Wooyoung doing.
"Relax, Sangie. The pretty lady will bring us some drinks in a second."
Hongjoong pinched his nose.
"Now is not the time for drinking, or staring at girls. Get it together."
Wooyoung held his hands up, and Yeosang remained still. That is, until you came to their table holding a tray with eight beers.
"Here you go boys. Enjoy!"
His mind must be playing tricks on him, because it seemed like your eyes only met his before you went back to the counter.
Before he could dwell on it, Sehun started causing a scene at the bar.
"Oh come on Y/N, when will you give it up? You know I can show you a good time."
"For the last time, please leave me alone."
"Still trying to act tough? Just wait until I fuck the attitude right out of you!"
Yeosang had the sudden urge to march over an fuck up his face, but Hongjoong's glare kept him at bay. They had to wait for the perfect timing, otherwise they would cause a ruckus.
The night went on like this with Sehun's comments getting even worse. Yeosang felt immense relief when he saw Hongjoong nodd, and the plan went into action.
Soon enough, the bar was turned over upside-down. Sehun was in handcuffs, and you were hiding under your counter. The officers would be here any moment, and the boys had to run.
Yeosang glanced at his crewmates as they went down an alley, his chest tightening.
"I have to do something quickly. Meet you at the ship."
"Yeosang!" Their voices were now faded into the background as he re-entered the place they wrecked.
"Hello? Miss?"
You slowly lifted your head from your hiding place, glancing at the handsome man from earlier. You should have known they were pirates, his outfit basically screamed it in your face.
"H-Hi?"
He turned his head towards your voice, a small smile gracing his features.
"There you are. Come out, I won't hurt you."
For some reason, you believed him. After all, they managed to take away your town's biggest problem.
You carefully got up, and he could tell your dress was ripped in some places. Probably got caught in one of the broken tables.
"What do you want?" You asked, voice trembling.
He approached you, paying attention to your body language. You were still apprehensive, but slowly loosening up.
"I'll cut right to the chase. Want to come on a little trip with me?"
.
.
It's been about a month since you took Yeosang up on his offer. You weren't sure what came over you to say yes so quickly, but you felt like he was trustworthy.
Honestly, you didn't have much left in the town, and you felt like you weren't leaving anyone behind. You only gained another family, a bit rowdy, but definitely lovely and supportive.
You also gained something else along the way, and you hoped Yeosang was feeling the same.
"Hey there treasure. What's got your head in the clouds?"
His voice brought you out of your daydream, and you could feel him beside you, gripping the railing. The sea was calmer than usual, giving you a sense of peace.
"Oh, nothing much. Just thinking about you."
Yeosang let out a startled noise.
"M-Me?"
You turned to look at him, noticing the slight blush on his cheeks.
"Yeah, you. I don't think I ever thanked you properly for taking me away from my miserable life."
Yeosang stayed silent, observing your expression. You looked... Happy.
"So, forgive me if I'm reading this wrong, but I just can't hold it in."
Before he could get a word in, you placed a kiss on his cheek, lightly catching his lips. It took him off guard, but he wanted to make sure you knew the feelings were mutual.
So, as you went to pull away, he grabbed your waist and placed a proper kiss on your lips.
You just looked at each other, smiles stretched out from ear to ear.
"I can't hold it in either."

pairing: virgin!sungchan x fem!reader
warning: smut! oral, protected sex, short? reader, slight corruption kink? Definite size kink and Sungchanâs eating cum
wc: 3k
a/n: not at all based on the song but I needed a title <3
.ă»ă.ă»ăâă».ă»â«ă»ăă»ă.
Weekends were for of daytime studying and nighttime parties. Finishing up whatever amount of work you needed done before rewarding yourself with the fraternity block's weekly parties. No matter how stressed or how close finals could get, most students at SM University found their way towards the weekly party hosted by someone or another.
Due to constant patrol, there have been plenty of saintly frat boys and sorority girls who donate their parents house for these parties. Which is where you find yourself.
Sitting on the counter of Wonbin's kitchen, you caught a familiar face. Jung Sungchan, one of SMU's top soccer players. You've seen him around campus, even seen him at Wonbin's parties before. But you've never really had the chance to talk to him, always kept a lingering eye on him, instead.
Friend of a friend is usually a weird relationship. He knows Wonbin and you know Wonbin, but Wonbinâs never tried inviting you both to the same event. No soccer games, no parties, no get togethers, no mundane events where your paths could cross. Almost suspicious.
You stayed on the counter, sipping your drink as he walked around. Spotting you, he walks up.
"Have you seen Wonbin?"
"Dunno." You say, "Saw him a minute ago, might be in the backyard."
"Thanks." He smiled before walking away.
You enjoyed watching Sungchan, he was tall and broad, muscular, he was a heartthrob to any student. Hearing from Wonbin, he was mostly just a goofy guy, nothing crazy or playboy about him. Just some college kid.
You hopped off the counter, passing your drink to some random guy walking by as you walked around. You were practically stone sober but this sounded far more fun than drinking your night blank.
You loosely followed Sungchanâs direction, trailing well behind him as he was on his hunt for Wonbin. You wouldn't say you were some voyeur but you enjoyed seeing what people were up to. You liked seeing their behaviors in different lights, whether they were alone or in public. Psychology could've been your calling.
Before you knew it, you lost Sungchan. He was far too serious in his endeavor for you to catch up. Failing to follow him, you began walking around the house, finding people in all sorts of positions. Again, you swear youâre not a voyeur.
You found a cheerleader getting non so secretly fingered on a sofa, you will definitely tell Wonbin about that. Finding two jocks make out behind some potted planet under the staircase. Not much was happening but some things were catching your interest. By the time you make your rounds and end up near the back door, you spot Sungchan again. Walking near him, you waved as you asked if he'd found Wonbin yet.
"No, it's okay, though.â He said, heading turning every few directions trying to find him.
He was tall. Far, far taller than you. His shoulders were huge, he was far larger than how he looked in the kitchen. You were able to get a better scope of him, finally closer to him in his largeness. Seeing his long legs, large hands, the way he slightly hunched over to talk to people.
"What's wrong?" You ask.
"Nothing, I can text him later, just plans for soccer and stuff."
"You should relax, this is a party." You say, "Here, let me get you a drink."
"You don't have to." He assures you.
"No way," You grab onto his hand, leading him to the kitchen, "let me help you."
You feel his hand tense a little as you drag him to the kitchen. Standing by the mixing table, he watched you prepare a drink.
"Don't make it strong." He leans down to tell you.
"I won't." You smiles at him.
You grabbed at the hidden mixers Wonbin stashed for friends, pouring it into Sungchanâs cup before letting him choose and pour his own alcohol. He added a dash more after a taste.
You two walked to an empty couch as he sipped him drink. He was slightly fidgeting but the more he drank the better he sat still.
"So does Wonbin hire you to come here are do you actually like drinking."
Sungchan bursted laughing, "I'm not a drinker but I don't hate parties."
"How do you know Wonbin?" He asked.
"We had some classes together, knew him before uni but we weren't close."
Sungchan nodded.
"Wonbin isn't on the sports team, is he?" You ask.
"Oh no, he's in sports medicine. Too scared to play out on the field."
You laughed, noticing Sungchan occasionally staring at you before moving his vision to his drink or to some people.
"Are you alright?"
"Can I kiss you?" Sungchan blurted out.
You blinked for a second, "Sure."
"I'm sorry, I- you're just really pretty."
"You can kiss me."
"I-"
"Is this too open of an area?" You lean in closer to Sungchan. "We can move somewhere more private."
"Can we?"
"C'mon." You take his hand and lead him upstairs.
The crowds of people were too dense and preoccupied to notice the two of you. You walked up the stairs into the off-limits zone of the party. Every party was like this, even on campus. Donât go upstairs unless youâre with a brother. Donât go upstairs at all for some houses.
Walking into a spare bedroom, you shut the door lightly.
"Should I lock the door?" You ask as Sungchan was looking around the room.
"Please."
You turn the lock before walking back to Sungchan.
You both sit on the bed, he's flushed looking anywhere but you as you're looking at him.
"You wanted to kiss me?"
Sungchan nervously grabbed your hand, "I did- I do!"
You feel your lips pull into a smirk as you lean in closer to him. He leans in and kisses you. His soft plush lips felt nice, tasting a bit of the alcohol from his solo cup he set down somewhere. Your free hand held his face, lips continuously melding together.
His hand moved from your hand to your arm, wrapping around it as he deepened your kiss. He was groaning as he tasted the alcohol on your tongue, you moved into his lap as he stretched his arms to your back.
Pulling away for a breath, Sungchan stared at you.
"You're really pretty."
"You're pretty, too."
Sungchan blushed more as you complimented him, âHow?"
"You're flushed cheeks and rosy lips are adorable."
You held his chin as you looked at him, doing your best to keep his eyes on you.
"I've, uhm, I've never done this before."
You cocked your head to the side, caught off guard.
"Done what?"
"Anything beyond kissing a girl." Sungchan looks away, feeling vulnerable and shy.
"Really?" You asked.
"I-"
"You're even cuter than before."
"That's cute?" He scoffed.
"You think I'd make fun of you for being a cute, pure boy?"
Sungchan's eyes moved away from you.
"Did you wanna learn? I can teach you."
His cheeks stayed a red-pink color, he was thinking hard about this.
"Can you?" His eyes flicked to your face.
"I can show you anything you want, baby boy."
His dick twitched when you called him that, Sungchan was worried you could feel it. He knew you could feel his growing hard on.
You lean back in to kiss him, his hands holding you a little tighter, more comfortable being nervous around you. You continue kissing before you grind lightly on his bulge.
"Ah." He moaned.
"That wasn't too much was it?" You ask.
"No, just different."
He captures your lips again, leaning further down as you grind your pelvis into him. Your hand moves down to feel him, his jeans are rough but you can make a good outline of his dick.
"Ah." Sungchan moaned again.
"You're real sensitive."
"Can you-"
His eyes were desperate when looking at you, clouded and almost watery with pleasure.
"You're so hot." You blurt out.
You begin moving down, lifting his shirt off as you crawl between his legs, pushing him onto his elbows. You stare up at him as you undo his belt, slowly pulling it from his jeans before tossing it to the side. You carefully crawl up to undo his jeans. Sliding his pants down, you see just how tight he is in his briefs. A large outline of his dick trying to poke out. You pull his underwear down, pulling them past his knees so he can kick them off as you stare at his dick. Fuck, he's huge.
Sungchan stares at you as you begin pumping him in your hand. His dick stood up tall as you massage up and down his shaft. His moans were low but high, never feeling someone else touch him.
"You feel good?" You ask.
His eyes flicked to you, his mouth agape with light pants coming out of him, "Yes. So good."
You continued pumping him before leaning in closer to him, sitting between his thighs are you brought his head closer to your mouth and kissed his head.
"Ah." He gasped.
You licked his slit, tasting his precum, before wrapping your lips around him.
"Y/n." He moaned.
His voice was so desperate and sweet you began sinking lower onto him. Tongue pressing along his underside as you sucked down his shaft.
"Fuck." He groaned, watching you bob your head up and down his length.
Your hand jerked his base as you sucked up and down his length. Your jaw ached as you moved up to lick along his tip. Looking up at him, you felt him twitch in your hand.
"I'm gonna cum."
"Where?"
"Where, what?" He asked.
"Where do you wanna cum?" You asked, jerking him faster.
"Fuck, your face." He groaned, feeling your hand speed up around him.
Your grip became stronger as you reattached your mouth to him, sucking and bobbing until you felt him begin to cum. Pulling off, you closed your eyes as you felt his hot cum spray onto your face, it was mostly around your mouth and cheek thankfully away from your eyes.
"Holy shit." He moaned, falling backwards onto the bed.
"Did you feel good?" You asked, crawling up his body.
"That was so good." He was in a daze, staring up at the ceiling as he tried cooling down.
"Can I make you feel as good?" Sungchan asked, not wanting to be the only one cumming.
"Of course," You lay on your back, wiping some of his cum off of your face, "eat me out."
Sungchan moves, seeing you take your shirt off as he stared at your boobs. He used his shirt to wipe the rest of your face off as you undo your bra. He leaned down and kissed you, letting you fall back and relax on the bed. He licked along your mouth, tasting his cum that was still on your tongue as he moved down.
Kissing along your jaw and neck before moving down to kiss along your breasts. His hands perfectly cupping them as he played with your nipples. His hands stayed on your breasts as he kissed down your body, your hands wrapped around his wrists as he descended. Sungchan left licks and kisses along your stomach and hip bones, carefully undoing your pants and sliding them down with your underwear, almost gawking at your exposed body.
The first thing Sungchan noticed was just how small you looked. Your dripping pussy was right in front of him but all he could think is how small it looked. How is his dick supposed to fit in there, your mouth could barely stretch around his dick. Pulling your underwear off of your legs, you spread them for him to kneel into. He immediately begins licking at your core.
âSungchan.â
âAm I doing good?â
âSo good.â You sigh.
He flattened his tongue as he tried feeling how small everything was. Your entrance was small, your clit poked lightly against his tongue, barely noticeable. You were feeling euphoric while he was trying to map everything out. Sungchan continued licking at you, his flat tongue swiping against your clit so well. You were sure he had no idea how well he was doing, beginning to lap at your clit your hands moved to hold onto his head. Your back began to arch as your noises grew louder.
His hand moved down to touch your core, flicking at your clit. Feeling his hand against you to further comprehend the size difference.
âGood?â He asked.
âKeeping doing that.â
He leaned down, you couldnât see it but his eyes were wide in fascination with how much pleasure you were feeling. Seeing your twitch and grip onto him was exciting. He was making a pretty girl feel good, he can only hope you can cum soon.
Out of curiosity, he pushed one finger into you. Just to feel and see if itâs possible. He kept his other hand on your clit as he watched his finger disappear into your core, feeling how tightly you clenched around him. Your moans grew louder, waking Sungchan from his fixation. He began lapping his tongue against your clit, before he knew it your legs stiffened as you clenched around him. It was a unique feeling, your walls clamping before fluttering against his finger.
Pulling it out, he noticed the thick trail of cum connecting you and him. He wrapped his lips around his finger, tasting your sweet essence before diving back in to drink from the source. He was careful to just suck from your entrance and not touch your clit. Seeing your ragged breathing and your back fall onto the bed, Sungchan felt accomplished.
âSungchan, youâre really good at that.â
âI am?â He gleamed at you.
âSo fucking good.â
You could barely move your legs as you stayed there.
âNightstand, look for a condom.â You ordered.
âYou know theyâre there?â He asked.
âThis is Wonbinâs place, of course theyâre there.â
He opened the drawer and grabbed at a loose condom packet. You help roll it onto him as heâs twitching from the sensitivity. Sitting up, you and his shift into missionary.
âCan I-â
âPlease fuck me.â You say.
âYes, maâam.â He says, aligning with your core.
Sungchan moved beween your legs, looking down at you he was amazed at the new angle. Your cheeks were flushed, eyes dripping in arousal, you looked so hot. He carefully aligned with your core, still not believing you could fit him. He carefully pushed his tip in, not wanting to hurt you but also seeing if this was even possible.
You laid in ecstasy as you felt him stretch you out.
âSungchan.â You moan.
He pauses and asks of youâre okay.
âKeep going, you feel so good.â
Good? Heâs so surprised that you feel good, he feels good but you? Heâs barely comprehending how your pussy can stretch around him but also is feeling good?
He pushes in all the way before he feels you grabbing onto him. Holding him as youâre feeling so full and fucked out. Your walls are fluttering around him, youâve never felt like this before and you need to feel him pound into you.
âKeep going.â
âAlready?â
âPlease, Sungchan.â
He slowly pulls out, about half way, until he begins pushing back in.
âAll the way.â
He stopped. All the way?
He pulls more out, leaving only his tip in before pushing back into your core.
âYes.â You drawl out.
âThat feels good?â
You nod as he continues slowly pushing and pulling, carefully thrusting into you as your hand moves to circle your clit.
âYouâre so fucking big, fuck me.â You moan.
He slowly leans down, wanting to kiss you again.
âFaster?â
âYes.â You sigh.
He moves faster, slowly getting used to moving his hips this way. He looks at your face, seeing your lidded eyes and hand covering your mouth, heavily breathing as your other hand circles your clit. The sight is so erotic, seeing how much you want him, how you want him to move more, harder, faster. Sungchan begins moving faster, thrusting harder into you as he hears your moans grow louder.
He leans down and kisses your cheek, you move your hand to turn his head, capturing his lips. You feel his tongue poke out as he continues thrusting into you, you kiss and lick against him, wrapping your lips around his tongue as he blanks from the pleasure.
âYouâre so good.â He moans. âYou feel amazing.â
He pulls out less, opting to move faster and harder. His eyes close as he begins pumping into you harder, keeping a hand on your hip as he switches with your hand on your clit. Opening his eyes, he peers down to messily rub your clit.
âSungchan.â It comes out far more high pitched than you expected.
His hips stutter as he cums into the condom, rubbing your clit harder. His long drawn out moan is melodic as your high hits you.
âFuck.â You moan.
He almost falls on top of you, so overwhelmed by your pussy still clenching around him. He stays inside you for a minute, trying to find his breath as he calms down. Finally pulling out, he throws the condom away.
You stay like that for a minute, catching your breath as you feel the aftershocks from your orgasms. Slowly, you both relax and sit up to look around for your clothing. You want to make quick work, unsure of how long or loud you both were.
âDid you, uhm,â Sungchan starts, âdid you wanna go on a date sometime, or just like hang out.â
You stare in surprise, âYeah!â You nod your head, âThatâd be really nice.â
You slowly redress, picking and handing each other different clothing you find as you both compose yourselves. He grabs his phone to exchange numbers with you, both of you sending a quick text to save each otherâs contact.

HEAD OVER HEELS
yandere ! sonic the hedgehog x fem ! y/n.
This contains lovesick obsession, stalking, unhealthy thoughts, murder, and blood.
---
Sonic had always been known as the charming, carefree hero. The one with the dazzling smile which could make girls go crazy over, the one who could make hearts race with just a wink. he was charming, carefree, he was the blue blur.
That was who he was supposed to be.
So.. why was he acting like this now?
it had all started with the moment that he laid eyes on her.
A female named Y/n l/n.
the first time he saw her, he felt something in his chest snap. The world seemed to have shrunk, his pupils dilating, and his mouth turning dry.
Everything else in the backround blurred--No sound, no movement, with his eyes unmoving, stuck on y/n.
his heart felt as though it was going to be burst.
Instantly, he didnt waste any time on making a move--going up to her, asking for her name, and making a few flirty remarks-- and his fingers twitched when he saw how at one of his stupid jokes, she let out a soft, breathy giggle.
oh, he was so fucked.
It wasnât just attraction. It wasnât a simple crush. Noâthis was something much worse. Something he couldnât control, something that consumed him like wildfire.
Sonic had fought countless battles. He had faced gods, monsters, and threats that could shatter reality. But neverânot onceâhad he like this.
Fear of not having this girl nearby.
It was ridiculous, insane even. But none of that mattered because Sonic had already fallen. Hard.
And he swore, from the very first second, that heâd never let her go.
and ever since that day, he promised to 'protect' y/n from the cruel world.
---
At first, he tried to be normal about it. Really, he did.
He told himself that it was just admiration. That he just liked her more than most. That there was nothing wrong with wanting to be around her.
But then, he started following her.
It wasnât stalkingânot at first. He just wanted to make sure she was okay, that no one bothered her. She was fragile, delicateâwhat if she needed him and he wasnât there?
So he watched.
From the rooftops, from the shadows, or from the darkest corners where no one would ever notice him.
She was breathtaking. she was a angel. His angel.
Every little thing she did made his heart ache. The way she tucked her hair behind her ear, the way she hummed to herself when she thought no one was listening, the way her lips curled into the softest smile.
Sheâs perfect.
He wanted to talk to her. Wanted to sweep her off her feet, to make her see him the way he saw her. But every time he got close, something held him back.
What if she thought he was weird? What if she somehow found out about the way he acted over her?
Sonic wasnât stupid. He knew that people would call this obsession. That if anyone found out, theyâd say he had lost it.
And maybe⊠maybe theyâd be right.
But the thought of stopping? Of walking away and pretending like she wasnât the most important thing in his world?
that was practically Impossible.
---
His room used to be simple. Tidy, functional, nothing too flashy.
Now? it was a shrine.
Photos of her covered the walls. Some were innocentâpictures he had taken from a distance, capturing her in the middle of a laugh or lost in thought. OthersâŠ? well, maybe not so much.
Some were photos of her changing, pictures of her all pretty and naked, illuminated by the moonlight. he couldnt help himself from drooling over these types of photos, his tail wagging wildly at the sight, and his pupils shaped as hearts.
He had even stolen little things she had used.
A hairpin she had dropped while taking a stroll, a napkin she used at a café, and even a worn-out hoodie she left in her living room.
He kept them all, tucked away like treasures, because they really were.
He would hold the hoodie close at night, inhaling the faint scent of her. It was comforting. It made him feel like she was his.
---
it became a daily thing, for him to silently watch her from a distance. and the others, slowly started to notice the change in his behaviour.
how he had become more silent.
how he always looked lost in thought.
And whenever they fought eggman, he wasted no time, no longer saying any of his stupid jokes, as if he had something far mar important to do. He didnt act like himself anymore, and everyone was worried--even shadow the hedgehog, felt as though sonic wasn't in his right mind.
And amy, was the first to ask, wanting to try comforting sonic. To see if he was feeling alright, if something happened.
but when she went to his apartment, knocking on his door, but there was no response. And when amy noticed that his door was.. left slightly open.
And so, amy, not thinking much of it, decided to walk in.
but what happened next, wasnt something she wanted to see.
photos, all over his room, of the same person, as well as a large shrine, with candles lit in the dark room.
and the next thing she knew?
Amy gasped, her breath hitching as suddenly, a sharp, searing pain bloomed in her back, and through her stomach. The dimly lit room flickered with the glow of candlelight, casting eerie shadows against the wallsâwalls covered in pictures.
Pictures of her.
Of a female that she didnt recognise.
Amy's trembling hands reached forward, barely brushing against the shrine before her legs buckled. She felt warmth pooling beneath her, her vision blurring as the overwhelming scent of melted wax and something metallic filled her nose.
and as she turned around with her remaining strength to see who had stabbed her, her eyes went wide.
Her lips parted. "Sonic..?" She weakly called out, her eyes filled with tears.
infront of her, Sonic stood in silence. No quips, no charm, no explanation. Just quiet, suffocating stillness, as the only sound in the room was Amys cries.
Amyâs mind reeled. This wasnât him. This wasnât the Sonic she knew, the Sonic she--
Another sharp jolt of pain ripped through her body as the blade twisted slightly. Her knees finally gave out, her body collapsing onto the cold, unforgiving floor, as she held her stomach, desperately trying to stop the blood from flowing out.
Sonic still said nothing.
He simply watched.
And as Amyâs world faded to black, the last thing she saw, was sonics expressionless face, uncaring, as he rolled his eyes.
And as amy closed her eyes, sonic had suddenly dropped to his knees. He didnt know why, since he felt nothing. he didnt he didnt feel any sorrow, any pain. he felt nothing.
How would the group react? Knowing he just killed amy?
He didnt want to know. No, he wouldnt let them know.
A lovesick mess. that's what he was. A man sick with obsession.
Y/n, had changed his whole life in mere seconds. And now, she was the only thing throughout this entire universe which mattered most to him.
"Great! now thereâs a stain.." He sighed, staring at amys motionless body, as he kicked at it, staring at the blood splattered on his carpet.
Shit. he knew how fucked up this was, and just what everybody would do once they found out, yet thoughts of y/n just wouldnt leave his mind, Even in a moment like this.
He was head over heels for y/n. he knew that for sure.
Oh, how he hated how his hands shook when he wasnât near y/n, and how his heart pounded at the mere thought of her.
He was supposed to be confident, free-spirited. respected by all.
and yet, here he was. A lovesick, obssessed stalker.
He stared at Amyâs lifeless body, but his eyes widened when he noticed a smudge of blood staining one of his precious photos of Y/N. Instinctively, he wiped it away with his thumb, his breath hitching before sighing in relief when no trace was left behind.

bunny i think grumpy sam being in a situation where he has to interact with other parents would be so funny

PAIRING: teen dad!sam monroe
FLUFF âŠ
Sam hated this. The daycare, to be exact. The fluorescent lights. The sound of a hundred tiny voices screeching at once.
He moved fast since his ears caught the sharp music of the school's bell ring. It only took him minutes to finally go through the day-care's door building. Power-walking through the hallway, he had his hoodie up with hands shoved in his pockets, trying to find and squeeze himself out of people's way to Vinnie's 'classroom' before some overly enthusiastic daycare worker would try to make eye contact with him.
âThammy!â
His head snapped up just in time to see Vinnie wobbling towards him, little arms already wide open, cheeks rosy from running around all day and giggling his little lungs out.
Sam quickly composed himself and kneeled, scooping up the toddler by his armpits. âHey, dude.â He eyes the toddler, noticing the glitter on his chubby hands. âWhat the hell happened to you?â
Vinnie gibbered excitedly, half-English, half-baby talk Sam had no idea of, before wiggling in Samâs hold. He clearly was thrilled about something, and Samâs about to ask whatâ
Then he hears them.
ââOh! That must be him!â
Sam stiffened.
Slowly, he turns his head. And here they are. His nightmare, his hell on earth - other, too extravert, parents. Thankfully there were only two of them. Both well-dressed, smiling, suspiciously normal. A woman in a beige coat clutched a tiny backpack, and next to her, a man in dad sneakers was adjusting his daughterâs pink hat. Both of them were looking directly at Sam.
He hated this even more.
The woman stepped forward, beaming. âYou must be Vinnieâs brother!â
Sam blinked.
âŠhis what?
âOh, Carter talks about him all the time,â the dad chimed in, grinning at Vinnie as he patted his daughterâs head. âThey played together today, isnât that right, sweetheart?â The little girlâCarter, apparentlyânodded shyly, peeking at Vinnie from behind her dadâs leg.
Vinnie, on the other hand, waved his tiny glitter-covered hand. GIGGLING. Sam cleared his throat, adjusting him on his hip. âUh. Iâmââ
âOh, you two look so alike!â the woman gushed, continuing her abnormal talk. âSame eyes, same hairââ
âYeah, thatâsââ
âItâs so sweet of you to pick him up every day! You must be such a helpful big brother.â
âŠOkay, thatâs enough.
Sam inhaled sharply, trying not to physically combust. âYeah, uhânot his brother.â
Both parents blink in utter confusion.âOh?â
âIâm his dad.â
Silence.
The couple stared.
Sam stared back while vinnie, oblivious to the tension, happily smacked his chubby hand against Samâs face, leaving a handprint of glitter in it's awake.
Finally, the dad was brave enough to clear his throat and stop this judgmental, weird silence. âOh! Oh. Wow. Iââ He laughed awkwardly. âThatâs⊠thatâs great!â
The woman, still processing, looked at her husband in, what Sam read was, confusion before she plastered on a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. âOh, well! Thatâs wonderful. We just assumed, because, well⊠youâre so young, andââ
Sam mentally checked out. Turning his back to the couple, he rolled his eyes at them. Ugh, he should have just sent his mom to pick up vinnie. He wouldn't have to deal with this shit. Sam crouched down, carefully shoving Vinnieâs feet into tiny sneakers, nodding along as the woman kept nervously rambling.
ââbut thatâs amazing! Really! You must be very mature for your age.â
Sam snorted. Yeah, sure. Thatâs one way to put it.
Finally, Vinnie was dressed. Sam, grabbing Vinnie's little backpack, scooped him up right back, nodding once and for the last time. âCool. Well. Weâre gonna go.â
âOh! Of course!â The dad nodded quickly. âNice to meet you!â
The woman waved enthusiastically at Vinnie. âBye, sweetheart!â
Vinnie only clapped his little hands in response. Giggles leaving his wide opened mouth while Sam just walked away. Fast. Faster than he should have probably. The second he stepped outside, he let out a long, exhausted breath, as if he was holding inside his lungs all the air from the situation.
âDude.â He shook his head. âIâm never doing that again.â
Vinnie just leaned against his shoulder, content as ever, to which Sam rolled his eyes. âGlad one of us had a good time.â
