Hello I hope your having a good day/night! I'm wondering if you could write Kyoko, Kaede and Maki with a famous ultimate actor s/o, male preferably.
I see that you've been getting alot of requests lol, Don't forget to take care of yourself.
Hello! Hope you're having a lovely day or night as well :)
Yea, you're not kidding xD I don't know if I can even count how many I have right now
There are some that will probably take me forever to get to, but I'll do my best. Thank you for the concern, but I'm alright 👌
And you make sure to take care of yourself too, okay?
Kyoko, Kaede and Maki with an Ultimate Actor S/O
Kyoko Kirigiri
She thinks you're pretty cool
When she saw you for the first time, she just walked right up to you and said, "Hello, I'm Kyoko Kirigiri and I'm a fan of your work."
She wouldn't rave about your talent, but she does watch your movies in her free time
Especially if you star in detective films or psychological films
She's into that stuff, so she would love them even more if you were in them
Sometimes you do impressions of detective characters you've played, and it makes her smile
Kyoko appreciates your talent a lot, even if she doesn't always say so
Kaede Akamatsu
BIG fan of your talent
The second she saw you, she ran up to you and stumbled over her words while trying to say that she was a fan of you
Then you organized a time to hang out, which made her turn red and squeal
But she loved your time together
She watches any movie you're in every chance she gets
She even learned some of the soundtracks on the piano
She played them for you, hoping to impress you
And it worked
She's a fan of romance and comedy, and she loves every single one you're in
She's definitely a fangirl, but not an overly obsessed one
Maki Harukawa
When she saw you, she wanted to say something, but backed out
She just kind of watched you, feeling too shy to say anything
After a little bit, she worked up the courage and told you she liked your movies
Then y'all hung out together and grew even closer
She also doesn't gush about your talent, but she does watch your movies sometimes
She likes comedy and sometimes horror
If you catch her watching a movie you're in, she'll get really embarrassed and tell you to get out
But she still loves you and your talent~

Fruits Basket Manga Review , ch 109
-The Tragedy of a an episodic format attempting to connect narrative in a series: (Tohru’s Background or Kyo’s Focus?)
One of my issues with se03, ep6 (other than it being 3 chapters combined horribly with new material added for shock value) is that it was weakly undecided who would be the focus? who would the narrative follow?: Is it tohru’s own pov abt herself? is it the gramps giving boring exposition abt tohru over weak still images of flashbacks or is kyo thinking abt tohru’s pain?
The truth is, it was all the above in the manga, but the manga gave each a chapter focus so that the chapter is well-directed with focused narrative. The anime weakly jumbled the 3 chapters together as they always do. You mix chapters & tada~ you got an ep, you only need a broad weak theme that connects the dots! here: it is tohru! & that’s it. As long as the 3 chapters discuss tohru in any form & manner, nothing will seem off if we put them next to each other in a 20 minute ep! right? riiiiiight ????
.. this was never a correct way. Just like a chapter needed a narrative direction, the ep is the same!!
ch 107: The beginning of tohru’s pov on her realization abt loving kyo.
ch108: tohru’s full pov of shock upon reaching the conclusion that she loves him & the beginning of her mom’s issues & abandonment.
ch109: Kyo’s pov abt tohru’s pain & his involvement, guil & the sheet hug.
ch110: (completely cut from the anime!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Kyoru’s part: the aftermath of kyo & tohru crossing the line of being in the most vulnerable & intimate, building towards a more crushing impact of the climax. The stronger & more painful their love is, the more it will hurt. Also a yuchi buildup?!!!!
-so, you see each chapter has a direction i& a narrative it follows independently that is weaved together to make a connected tissue of the overall plot. The anime puts the 3 chapters next to each other & we are lost on who to follow? kyo or tohru or the gramps. That’s why it feels tohru is weak & her two chapters worth of pov is stolen from her cuz it cut or shortened to include the grandpa, kyo, isuzu, shigure & let’s not forget (kazuma, yuki & haru) at the beginning, the dramatic shock value addition & OP & ED. All these take valuable screen time. The ep shocks us by moving from tohru to kyo. One minute she’s crying with him on the streets, next he’s at the grave & she’s visiting isuzu.
Kyo said he isn't going to the grave in the ep, upon seeing him actually going, I just assumed he wanted to avoid, hana, cuz I’m so invested in his story that I remember sth happened in se1, ep 14.. ages ago, The anime didn’t even allow kyo to inner talk abt avoiding hana... In their weird mind, kyo only inner talks in dramatic situations..See the difference!
Not only the writer (a) reminds us why kyo avoided the grave visit, she also (b) seized the opportunity to shine lifht onto an issue that will be the center of kyo’s struggles: Running away!
The anime introduce this in kyo’s pov only when kyo confronts tohru. Only when it was needed & couldnt be avoided. This is sth that will be the core of all the climax & the aftermath as well! Kyo running away.. How bad are you if you avoid inserting one line only that can be said in few seconds & establish great deal & foreshadow plenty!!!!!!!!!! I can’t for the life of my understand why short lines are cut from kyo when in the anime they have him be standing silent in the graveyard. Like slap the line above the silent scene!!!!! But doing so means the anime team understands tohru & kyo’s issues. They don’t. Not the slightest.
-Ep 6 signals the beginning of the anime moving from episodic format of se1, 2 & 5 eps of se3 & entering a connect plot. The anime doesn’t know how to do that & screwed tohru in the process. The protagonist’s main issues are one ep worth only. The antagonist main issues are one ep only (ep7). Ep 6, was treated as a stand alone ep (minus the inserted shock scene to create a lingering issue that needs a following ep to explain. TOLD YOU they don’t know how to make a series!). Thus the following ep 7 is akito’s focus. Everything that was established in ep 6 was pit on hold until akito reaches the craziest mindset for the climax. See why ep 6 was so bad? it is Should NOT be a stand alone ep.
-The plot connects kyoru emotional & physically: (Kyo’s chapter with a tohru’s focus:
Unlike the anime, the chapter knows what it’s presenting 7 where it’s going. Kyo’s issues. This ch focuses on him uncovering parts of his past as it connects with tohru’s. Unlike the anime, we know why kyo's connection to kyoko’s past. The anime is hiding this for the climax, no problem, it can still work both ways. However, hiding kyoko /kyo connection doesn't necessarily mean hiding kyoko/tohru connection. But the anime is cutting this to milk it in an ova or series next year~ no problem, it can still work if you handle this ep’s flashback better. for all the artistic creativity they inserted in the added scene, they failed miserably in tohru’s flashback portion. how?
By choosing a frontal pov shot in tohru’s grandpa flashback as if the audience are the ones who abandoned tohru or opening the door to find her alone. it does NOT work at all. why? the audience are encouraged to be like tohru since ep 1 as tohru is the mother, angel, fixer & endearing hopeful girl. The audience will NEVER abandon tohru, that’s why tohru’s story felt disconnected & weak in the anime. Not knowing what kyoko did, who would abandon such child?! differently not us. so why use the frontal pov shot? -_-’
-tohru confesses her pain to kyo without being ushered by isuzu, without any outside factor. She simply visited the grave & came home. hiding her pain. once again. like she always do. One question by kyo, prompts her to “ complain a little” call back to se1, ep5 as he advised. we see tohru get out of her shell little by little. NOT SCREAM OR SLAP. She opened up. why? cuz the story is abt “ opening the lid” not abt “ snatching the lid”. No need for shocks. Yuki opened his lide slowly, tohru even slower, kyo is resisting opening his altho it is cracking in this chapter. When your story focuses on character buildup it pays!
-I’ll give the anime credit when it due. The hug scene is so good both in manga & anime. but so awesome in animation, colors, music & voice acting. It’s breathtaking & painful. The most beautiful kyoru scene in the whole anime.
-It represents their mutual vulnerability, understanding, pain & determination to love the other but not also let go. kyo has made his mind to be locked in order not to hurt tohru & tohru has made her mind that she can’t let go of her mom.
You see, the scene’s meaning hits different between manga & anime; In the anime: tohru has already challenged the sohmas & screamed to be with kyo, while kyo is still decided to leave her. In the manga: they’re both at the same spot (undecided). I like both interpretations but I’ll choose the manga’s version. Simply cuz it means tohru is still uncovering her issues which means more focus on her, & more explanation of why cant tohru love her mom & kyo at the same time.
-This expression on tohru’s face is a the complete opposite of the shock value expression in ep 6! T_T. I do’nt even hate the shocked scene addition itself that much, I just think (a) this is NOT its time! Tohru deserved better spotlight! (b) kyo didn’t friggen forget! ah! THIS I HATE! (c) the whole shocked scene was so wasted in ep 7. tohru return to her stupid dumb lalala~ land, cooking & forgetting kyo. what growth? what determination & screams to isuzu? what enduring kagura’s slaps? nope! just happy & cooking, lalala~ no one was freaking over her mom’s picture~ lalala~ & kyo just slept it over~ shhhh... its okay. he’ll forget again... see? totally wasted!
The anime knows nothing abt connected narrative! augh!
Side Notes:
We see kyo asking the gramps why he’s offering him info abt tohru which is so logical! XD. I love it.
I’ve read ch 110 & wanted to insert the kyoru scene in ch 110 here, & put yuchi alone in a different post, then I realized I’ll need to talk abt it again once I analyze yuki’s own expressions! XD. so, I’ll put all ch 110 together in one post. It kinda half written by now, so I’ll publish it very soon in two days time. I didn’t read ch 111 yet tho.
I hope ch 110 is the last I feel this much disappointments in furuba’s anime & by ch 11, it hopefully be be minor changes altho I doubt that cuz the manga needed to dwell into tohru’s mindset & the anime kinda stopped after ep 6. so, yup! more big changes coming!
The sheet hug is so brilliant in theory & application! so romantic & so endearing! love it so much! The anime did it so well, too!
I love kyo’s narration & pov cuz it’s so refreshing change from the anime where he rarely does!
I really wish they kept the kyoko abandoning tohru part in the anime... sigh~ it has nothing much to affect her story with katsuya. so it won’t ruin the spin off/ ova or whatever it’s called.
I love the light focus on tohru in this chapter & how organic & natural it is opposed to how forced the plot seems in the anime....

DEEP FIC WRITER ASKS
3) what fic are you emotionally attached to?
Luisa and the Fox. ...I feel this one might be expected at this point, so I went through and looked at all my other fic and like. Of them all, this is still the one to which I'm the most emotionally attached. >.>;;
17) What’s the best engagement/interaction/feedback you’ve received from someone who’s read your work?
I was actually afraid of getting this question because like. How do you quantify best engagement/interaction/feedback? SO OBVIOUSLY ALL OF YOUR COMMENTS I NEED YOU TO KNOW. FIRST OFF. But actually, I honestly think it is less the comments/etc. than it is, like, getting to know other writers in the different communities and making friends? Which is...the interaction bit? So becoming friends with you and Belle and Cait through Roisa stuff (or Skylar through Agatha stuff) - and like getting to pop into people's DMs or discord or whatever and just rant and ramble about ships AND CAUSE EACH OTHER PAIN is. the best interaction I get from people who have read my stuff. ^^
19) If you could write an ideal fic, what would it include?
Pain, obviously. ;) No, it would - I've reblogged a thing about narrative distance recently, I think - yeah, this post - and my ideal fic would play with the concept of narrator as distinct from character POV so that you've got the narrator who's telling the story to you who can occasionally comment on things or speak directly to you, the reader, without it feeling weird, in a comforting sort of way. But also the ideal fic would employ second person (kind of like in What Dreams May Come with Viola or in Finding Family with Agatha (when she was stuck in Agnes)), which I'm not sure is compatible with that sort of narrative voice.... It would probably include some super in-depth world-building but not, like, Tolkein world-building, but taking our world and making one difference and then extrapolating from there (like with the soulmate timer stuff). It would be queer, but not necessarily lesbians queer (although there would probably be wlw stuff in it, tbh). A lot of angst. A snarky anti-villain turned anti-hero. A woobie destroyer of worlds. Someone who has turned evil because of tragic past reasons. One character could potentially be ALL OF THE ABOVE. Like I have a character type and I acknowledge this. But also you're gonna have the mom friend. Not the happy perky sunspot but the, like. LET ME USE MADOKA AS AN EXAMPLE. THERE WOULD BE A MAMI, THERE WOULD BE A KYOKO, AND THERE WOULD BE A HOMURA. :D ...okay, in ouat terms. There would be a Mary-Margaret Blanchard (but not necessarily Snow; I will maintain they are separate characters and I like MMB better) and there would be a Regina. ...uh, that's missing a character. There would be a Dottie Underwood. She's the closest to a Kyoko parallel. xD Lots of discussions of mental illness. ...potentially different versions of the same character - whether that's multiverse or time travel or clones or etc. (Or it would be a fairytale. Actually, the ideal fic would be a fairytale.) ...I'm gonna stop there. XD
#musings#bandit answers questions#bandit#meme response#fanfic#butimnotasexyrussian#latf#THANK YOU FOR ASKING I HAD FUN ANSWERING#latf coming in clutch like#it really is my favorite fic that i've written#and i'm super attached to it#i've been trying for almost a year now to scrub it#and keep running into roadblocks#it is the only fic i have printed out#(atm because plan to print a couple of others probably in the next couple of weeks)#but#it is my favorite#still is#to this day

Favorite Kisses in Fruits Basket
I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before, but I’m a pretty big fan of romance. It’s one of the reasons I love Furuba so much because the romances are...ahhh...SO GOOD. I thought it would be fun to share my favorite kiss scenes from the series. So I gathered every smooch I could remember and ranked them.~~~
MANGA SPOILER WARNING
7. Yuki and Tohru
I have mentioned that I am anti Yuki x Tohru which is why this is last on the list. Yuki’s little kiss on her forehead comes moments before he confesses his love to her. It’s a sweet scene, but again, not a fav. Although, I do love their platonic relationship and I support it 100%.
6. Shigure and Akito
They got two cheek kisses in the series. The first one while she was still small was super sweet and innocent and then the second one is...the total opposite of innocent lol. Shigure and Akito is my number one guilty pleasure couple in Furuba. They are toxic and dysfunctional as hell, but that’s what makes them so juicy.
5. Momiji and Tohru
Momiji just met her and is already making a move DAMN! How are the majority of newbies to the series not noticing how much Momiji is crushing on Tohru?! Momiji just gives her a simple kiss on the cheek while telling her that she’s beautiful in German. Very sweet. They are another one of my top ships. (Even though she belongs with Kyo.)
4. Yuki and Machi
God, these two are just so perfect for each other. I absolutely ADORED this scene. What I love about their relationship is how flawlessly it was built up, almost as well developed as Kyo and Tohru’s. They had a beautiful first kiss (although 2019 can we not get a backside shot of their kiss and a full view instead pretty please?) But what I love most about this scene is how happy Yuki gets when she calls him by his first name. It makes me melt.
3. Katsuya and Kyoko
I know this is a very controversial couple, but I don’t care. I love them soooo much. Their story is just so touching and it makes me sob every time I read it. I loved how Katsuya married her so that he could take care of her since she was by herself. But he also did it because he truly loved her. It was a good balance. Their first kiss was so flippin beautiful. Then I think I remember Kyoko called him a pedophile afterward. At least they acknowledge the age gap. xD
2. Haru and Rin
My second favorite ship from the series! I always call them “the most passionate couple in Fruits Basket” because they truly are. (I do think Shigure and Akito come in second to that title.) Every time they kiss or are just with each other, I can feel that love between them. And they definitely have the most sexual tension out of all the couples, like dam.
In the second scene, Yuki’s bewildered expression always cracks me up. He’s like “Ummmm...okay. I don’t know what to do with myself in this situation. I guess I’ll just watch.” O__O
1. Kyo and Tohru
If you know me, you should’ve seen this one coming. Kyo and Tohru are my ultimate favorite OTP OFF ALL TIME. Of course their kisses are going to come in #1. These two scenes were so memorable to me because I was so excited when they happened. When Kyo first kissed her, I just stared at my pages thinking ‘Is this actually happening right now?!’ And both their kisses were gorgeous. Although I love their second one more because in the first, Tohru was unconscious during it lol.
I like to think they shared kisses every day after they started dating. :)
Let me know via comments or reblog your favorite kiss scene from Furuba! Xx

V Watches MagiReco - Episode 5 Review
*Spoilers for Magia Record Anime Episode 5*
I won’t deny that I was both extremely nervous and excited for this episode at the same time. There was just so much building up and so many vital things to introduce this week. I was anticipating an interesting conversation between Yachiyo and Mifuyu, a much longer and more difficult Rumour battle, Iroha’s doppel, and a possible Mami appearance.
And I can say for sure that not only did we get all of that, but we got them all done very well, with a few unexpected twists and additions, too!
I feel that they’re deliberately making Mifuyu and her relationship with Yachiyo extremely vague for now; it’s hard to judge as a game player because I already know everything, but I do wonder how anime-only fans feel about Mifuyu, what with how little they’re telling us so far. The scene with Yachiyo and Mifuyu really goes to show how shackled to the past Yachiyo is, which is a nice irony when we consider the short lecture she gave Iroha last episode about being a prisoner of her past. The whole Seance Shrine ordeal basically showed that if anyone’s a prisoner of their past, it’s definitely Yachiyo, and the contrast between how she and Iroha respond to the fake Mifuyu and Ui is a great way to illustrate that. All the symbolism and visual imagery going on while Yachiyo and Mifuyu spoke was also really, really well done. I especially liked the little detail of how much Yachiyo’s hand was shaking when she was trying to purify her Soul Gem; this is probably our first time seeing her so disturbed and shaken up, which really goes to show how important her relationship with Mifuyu was to her.
I was not expecting such an amazing fight with Mifuyu, though! It’s always amazing to see these characters fighting outside of the fixed actions and movements shown with their game sprites, and I really love how graceful and agile Mifuyu is shown to be, jumping and gliding all over the place with such little effort. Yachiyo’s spear going right through her chest was OUCH EW, but I did enjoy that powerful moment from Yachiyo, who shows that she isn’t completely lost in her longing for their past relationship and does retain some good sense after all.
The Rumour looked slightly different from what I imagined (which is okay), but what I really appreciated? Finally a battle of some sort that doesn’t end way too quickly and easily; we finally see characters other than Iroha struggle with a monster that actually puts up a real fight. Iroha is continuously portrayed as weak but very eager to help out regardless, and I like that a lot about her character, even if I’d be just as frustrated as Yachiyo if I were in her position xD I’m really looking forward to seeing Iroha finally growing in strength and becoming a magical girl who can hold her own against the Kamihama Witches and Rumours!
As for the Doppel? I LOVED IT. I’m glad they went into detail about what went on inside Iroha’s mind before it happened, rather than having the monster suddenly exploding out of her with no explanation. The imagery with the bandages was done very well, too, and the creepy face “dark Iroha" makes before the Doppel is released has a very distinct PMMM style to me. My only slight complaint is that I would have liked a good look at the Doppel before she went up, up, and away and tore that Rumour to shreds xD The eerie bird-like sound effects were a very nice touch, but it was a little difficult to see what the Doppel was doing sometimes because everything happened so quickly with so much movement; I had to rewatch the scene a few times and pause on some frames before I understood what exactly was going on ^^;; (Iroha looks super pretty with her hair out, though! ♥)
It’s also really interesting to me that the anime shows that the Doppel doesn’t just effortlessly disappear like no big deal after the big attack. We see that even after the Rumour is destroyed, Iroha’s Doppel is still very much active and rampant, which makes me wonder what it exactly takes for a magical girl to “control” and “rein in” the Doppel and return back to normal, since, in Iroha’s case, it’s interrupted by the appearance of a very familiar magical girl!!!
When Mami appeared with her signature theme and chanted “Tiro Finale,” I legit felt chills down my spine (♥ω♥*) What an entrance!!! I also loved how they presented the tension between Mami and Yachiyo, both of them being the oldest and most mature of their respective groups and one of the most respected magical girls in their city. I think they have a very nice balance between including the original characters enough to keep old fans happy and allowing the new characters a chance to shine on their own, and I really hope they keep up this balance in future episodes :)
I know there’s been a few jokes in the past about Ui sounding like a broken record with how she repeats the thing about magical girls being saved in Kamihama. But this episode takes that idea and turns it up a few hundred notches to present one of the creepiest and most disturbing sequences I’ve seen in this anime so far. There’s something especially unsettling to see Ui looking all cute and happy and “normal” while sounding... well, like that. The fast-paced editing really adds to the urgent, almost claustrophobic kind of atmosphere, and builds up an even greater sense of mystery surrounding her character.
And the final part at Yachiyo’s place? We finally have our first glance at Mikazuki Villa! ^___^ It’s nice to see Yachiyo showing a much more gentle and caring side; she’s not as cold and brash as we’ve seen her, but there’s still a good bit of coolness and an aloof attitude that will defrost slowly as the characters get introduced one by one and the quintet forms :) Iroha sleeping in Mifuyu’s room was also a really nice and bittersweet touch, and I do like the way they’re using this kind of symbolism to set her up as a “new partner” for Yachiyo. Seeing all those mugs (and a quick Kanae cameo!) did hurt, but I like that the story will slowly allow Yachiyo to break free from the burden of her past and welcome a new and loving family. I do, however, wonder if that final scene of Mifuyu’s “ghost” or “spirit” would make anime-only fans think Mifuyu is dead or something xD
And that post-credits scene... OKAY I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT. That was one of the weirdest yet strangely entertaining scenes I’ve seen in any anime in a good while. I know Kaede summoned her Doppel, but... was the incident even real? Is she “still a Doppel” in the end, and not quite back to human yet? Was that the real world, or a labyrinth? Why was Mitama there? I take it that this is the first time Kaede has ever released a Doppel and doesn’t quite know what’s going on? And the last shot is most likely emphasising how the Doppel purifies the magical girl’s Soul Gem? The entire scene was just super trippy and things didn’t really make sense, yet I loved every second of how strange and wrong it all felt. This is probably one of the most “original” things the anime has done that wasn’t in the game (apart from Kuroe), and if they can somehow make sure that it all makes sense and ties in well together, then I’m all for these kinds of deviations if it means we get an even better and more suspenseful story!
I absolutely loved this week’s episode, and I was definitely not let down even with all the expectations and hopes I had for it. Many people say that the fifth episode of an anime is what “seals the deal” on whether someone will continue watching or end up dropping it, and even if it’s not accurate for me, being a game player and all, I do feel that I’d definitely stick with this series to the end if I was experiencing the story for the very first time.
Looking forward to Felicia’s debut next week! And... could that possibly mean that Kyoko will be showing up, too? (⊙ꇴ⊙)
Oh, and as a sidenote: I knew from the very first time I watched the OP that they would slowly add characters to the last part where Iroha turns around and runs towards Yachiyo >:) Sure enough, we see Tsuruno join them this week, and I can’t wait to see the full team slowly assemble! ^3^

Can I Survive Trigger Happy Havoc? (Collab with Total Drama gen 1 and THH cast) *2nd Try*
If you remember the last time I did this, I did a Danganronpa simulation with TD characters, and THH characters, where I was also in this, and the protagonist. The rule was that if my character died, the simulation ends.
And as you can tell from the 2nd try, my character died. Right at the end too...
So we’re gonna try again.
Here’s the link to the first attempt if you’re curious:
https://www.tumblr.com/blog/view/destinygoldenstar/689068056090198016?source=share
Anyway, same rules as that, let’s see if I can survive
2nd Life!
Chapter 1:
“Owen runs with a katana, unconcerned”
Right off the bat, we have folks being folks
“Courtney lightens up Leon to not be a wuss”
That’s Courtney for ya
“Courtney almost punches Heather, but refrains at the last second”
Wouldn’t we all?
“Mondo warns everyone to watch out for Kyoko”
What? What’s going on with Kyoko?
“Heather grabs a knife for no reason”
She’s like, ‘you’ll pay for trying to punch me Courtney!’
“Leshawna makes a plan to do game night one night”
Yeah, we’ll see how that goes
“Duncan warns everyone to watch out for Harold”
Okay, that’s funny
“The ritual room is trashed at random thanks to Junko”
That’s Junko for ya
“Harold holds an activity meeting. It goes smoothly!”
Good for you Harold!
Now don’t die!
“Taka tries to cheer Harold up”
“Gwen hums to herself”
Nothing to do?
“Tyler and Gwen exercise together”
Tyler will be your friend
“Justin shows off his Ultimate Model to everyone”
He sure does
“Harold invites Sakura to dance. They have a dance off”
Strangely, I can see these two chads getting along
“Kyoko investigates the school a bit more”
...I mean, it’s Kyoko. What do you expect?
“When the students were walking around, they find the body of Hifumi”
ALREADY?!
This makes NO SENSE. He didn’t do ANYTHING. HE’S ALREADY DEAD?!
We didn’t even get a motive!
“After investigating, the students go to the Class Trial”
“DJ accuses Hiro for no good reason”
No, I think there’s mighty good reason
“Leshawna says that she’s the culprit”
It better not be
“Beth has a rebuttal against Leshawna”
Yeah, Leshawna’s lying
“Harold cries in front of everyone about is family”
“Owen calls Harold a liability”
XD
“Hina accuses Toko for no good reason”
Yeah I like Toko, but that’s fair
“The students find out the murder actually took place in the kitchen”
“Everyone gangs up on Duncan”
Fair
“Harold freaks out about dying”
Poor Harold
“The students find out the murder weapon is a rope”
Ouch
“The students go over their alibi and figure out Hiro doesn’t have one”
Yeah, that’s expected. Get out.
“The students vote for Hiro, and are correct.”

OWEN WOULD NEVER KILL ANYONE
It has to have been on accident. That’s the only scenario I’ll accept. He killed Gwen completely by accident.

Sayaka’s like ‘I was stalking everyone with a dumbbell today’
“When the students were walking around, they find the body of Harold”

Nothing interesting happens on Day 10
Day 16:
“Kyoko goes missing for awhile”
She does that all the time, but she has plot armor so it’s fine
“Kyoko steals people’s supplies”
She does that all the time too
“When the students were walking around, they find the body of Leshawna”
WHAT?!?!
Okay, I legit FORGOT she was still alive
She did absolutely NOTHING, this ENTIRE simulation
“After investigating, the students go to the Class Trial”

We’re down to the Top 20
“Byakuya grabs a rope for no reason”
...
You know what, I ain’t saying anything, you know
“When the students were walking around, they find the body of Sadie”
It’s about time.
She lasted WAY too long

“Taka says that he’s the culprit”
“Toko says that she’s the culprit”

Normal trial stuff

Lyler slander?!
“AnalyzGolden debunks people’s stupidity”
Go me!
“The students find out the murder weapon is a poison”
“Junk trashes Kyoko”
Canon
“Tyler gives reasons why he can’t be the killer”
Defend yourself dude, everyone’s ganging up on you and your girlfriend-
“The students go over their alibi and figure out Lindsay doesn’t have one”
Welp. I spoke too soon.
THAT’S why Tyler was all over this case...
That’s gotta HURT for him
“The students vote for Lindsay, and are correct.”
“Lindsay’s punishment is crushing, and dies”
Chapter 11:
Alright, so last time, I died this chapter.
I was the victim.
I’M KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED
I survived this far!
“Bridgette reassures everyone they’ll make it out alive”
Pray I don’t die

That’s cute
“Courtney grabs a poison”
Nani?
“AnalyzGolden and Kyoko exercise together”
YUS, me and the detective waifu
“AnalyzGolden jogs around the school”
Let’s go!
“When the students were walking around, they find the body of AnalyzGolden”
...
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!
AGAIN?!?!?!?!
I DIE THE SAME CHAPTER?!?!
AGAIN?!?!
Like, not even a role switch, I’m the Chapter 11 Victim AGAIN
I died at the end!
ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!
This simulation is over.
Let’s see what the results are.
...
Okay, so I was killed in the Delinquent Lab, of course
And I was STRANGLED.
The weapon was a ROPE.
And the person who killed me...
Was EVA
AGAIN
LITERALLY AGAIN
THIS IS THE EXACT SAME CHAPTER AS LAST TIME
I’M THE VICTIM, EVA KILLS ME
WHY DOES EVA HATE ME SO MUCH?!?!
...
So I’m fast forwarding to the end.
The Mastermind is LEON
And SAYAKA is the sacrifice
That is INCREDIBLY IRONIC
So the survivors are:
Kyoko
Byakuya
Toko
Junko
DJ
Taka
Courtney
Chihiro
Cody
Tyler
Noah
And Ezekiel
That’s a pretty decent surviving cast. (Except for Junko, which how the F did she survive?)
Noah survived, which I’m happy about.
Unfortunately I couldn’t be there with them
And we got the MASTERMIND END, again.
Hopefully we can get a simulation where EVA DOESN’T KILL ME

(xD It was really a while ago, but I never see my notifications on tumblr, so I just saw that now)
Tagged by: @the50-person
Rules: tag nine people you would like to get to know better
Relationship status: not in couple, not in love, but not lonely.
Favorite color: any color of the sky
Lipstick or Chapstick?: Lipstick, I really love lipstick. But Chapstick is still useful. But still lipstick.
Last song I listened to: *check playlist on phone* Karma by Bump Of Chicken.
Last movie I watched: I don’t know which one was the last => Kyou No Kira-kun (Today’s Kira-kun), I remember being really disappointed. The manga is really good, I don’t know HOW they could still mess it up so much. The nice thing about the manga is that even if the theme is melo, the atmosphere isn’t. The movie is just a (bad) tear-jerker.
or => Ishuukan Friends (One Week Friends). I really enjoyed it. I was waiting for the friendship and not the romance, and it delivered. It was touching, the acting wasn’t bad. They followed the manga atmosphere and that’s important. (it was still more melo than the manga, but okay)
Top 3 fictional characters: Wowowowowowowowow. That’s way too difficult. From anywhere? Manga, movie, drama, tv-shows, books, etc?
There’s so much different way to love a character... I will do a manga/drama one.
3 ) Because I love watching his growth : Natsume from Natsume Yuujinchou (Natsume’s Book Of Friends). Because she’s such a realistically badass character : Seo Yun from Solomon’s Perjury.
2 ) Because she deserved everything she ever wanted : Aki from Joô No Hana (Queen’s Flower). Because he is such an interesting (and very well-played) villain : Lee Jun Ho from I Remember You (Hello Monster)
1 ) Because he’s my ultimate best girl : Mikorin from Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. Because he’s the best and most interesting teacher : Suzuki from Suzuki-sensei.
Bonus : All of my anime & manga best girl/guy : Onodera (Nisekoi), Asuna (Negima), Eva (UQ Holder), Senjougahara (Monogatari Series), Rem (Re:Zero), Yoshino (Masamune-kun No Revenge), Charlotte (Infinite Stratos), etc... / Taichi (Chihayafuru), Ren (Skip Beat), Shin Ah (Akatsuki No Yona), Kyo (Fruit Basket), Kaname (Vampire Knight), Sempai (Watashi Ga Motete Dousunda), Kikuchi (Ao Haru Ride), etc...
For making those endless discussions with my friends (IRL and Online) as to WHY they were the best. And for all the tears I poured when they didn’t get the guy/girl.
Top 3 ship : I’ll make two non-canon/canon manga & drama one.
3 ) Because she’s one of my rare best girl who get the guy, and I love their relationship : Araragi X Senjougahara. Because he’s my best girl and he needs his guy : Mayu X Mikorin.
2 ) Because he was always here for her, even when she never saw it (and because I don’t like the cliché “first love always win, even when he’s never here”) : Taichi x Chihaya from Chihayafuru. Because they broke my heart : Katsuya x Kyoko from Fruit Basket.
1 ) Because she made him experience love and he made her forgive love : Ren x Kyoko from Skip Beat. Because she protected him against everything, and because he will always makes her smile : Kyo x Tohru from Fruit Basket.
3 ) Because I don’t know why they were fighting for a girl, when they were obviously much more into each other : Dong Soo X Yeo from Warrior Baek Dong Soo. Because it wasn’t a problem of timing : Taek x Duk Seon from Reply 1988.
2 ) Because I will never understand this drama ending : Tae Kwang x Eun Bi from School 2015. Because they are realistically perfect : Joon Hyeong x Bok Joo from Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo.

I binged all of the anime because I got a fourteen day free trial for it and if I start slacking on watching something I never finish it because I get distracted easily and don’t want to get charged. I’m a cheapskate. So yeah, I didn’t take it in small chunks like I probably should have.
BUT ANYWAY, it forced me to watch Chiaki die again. Except this time it’s worse! And then we see her wondering what happened to her video game buddy as she’s rapidly bleeding out on the floor and he’s unsympathetically staring at her. THAT’S ALWAYS FUN.
From what I can tell, the anime’s kind of controversial with fans, and I can definitely see why. The brainwashing thing was cheap. I don’t actually dislike the idea, but it was made far too potent an it should have been. Junko could have used a combination of brainwashing and pushed them over the edge with her own ideological indoctrination.
But one really big issue I had with it and don’t want to give a pass, was it made the ending of the second game almost completely pointless. There was always a threat of every character (barring the player character) around you dying, regardless of who they are, or how helpful to the plot they may or may not be. With the last episode, they just toss that out the window and go “Everyone’s alive! Don’t ask us to explain it.” The second game’s cast surviving still retaining their old personalities and memories through pure force of will? Okay, fine, I’ll take it. It’s not too out there and it gives us more closure. Like you said, it’s cheesy, but I’ll take it. It doesn’t really take away too much from the ending of the game. But the anime just revives everyone? SERIOUSLY?? And not only that, they killed off Kyoko just to bring her back to life? Why? What was the point of that at all? I remember how Monokuma and Makoto in the first game keep saying how it wasn’t like some manga or anime, and once someone was dead, they stayed dead, and everyone had to deal with it. Oh, the irony! Death isn’t treated at all like it was in the games and considering how much of a big part it played in them, that’s kind of a big deal. I’m all for happy, even if at least somewhat unrealistic, endings and usually don’t get as upset over “Disney endings” as other people, but even I have limits on how much I’m willing to roll with. I can see people arguing with “they deserved a happy ending,” and I won’t deny that at all, but this was a little too much for me. I can understand why people like it but it’s just too happy for me. With any media as dark and grisly as DR3, I don’t like happy endings like that too much. And then they didn’t even bring back Chiaki? Come on, if you’re going to bring everyone back to life, why leave out Chiaki? Oh well. At least we have Ibuki. I’m still going to pretend it didn’t happen.
For the things I liked, though…
Izuru Kamukura was really cool, and the writers did a good job of writing him. He unironically said “memes” so that automatically makes him more likable. I’m aware of the actual meaning of the word, but considering how memes are the language of the internet, there’s no doubt the fanbase got a kick out of it. I wish we saw more of him. And I wish we got to see Hajime/Izuru more in the Future arc. That would have been really nice. I’d like to have seen the weird fusion of the personalities between Hajime and Izuru. But how did his hair grow so long suddenly? Was one of the things they did to him make his hair grow out? And how did they make him lucky? That’s some technology they’ve got if they can make you arguably luckier than Nagito through surgery. But yeah, seeing Izuru was amazing. All things considered, it makes a lot of sense why he’d be so bored and apathetic about everything. Izuru’s great.
I like the “game” in the Future arc and the idea of the forbidden moves. That was a really neat idea. Kyoko’s forbidden move was pretty dumb because of how pointless it was, but the idea of it was really neat. I wish Makoto & company wasn’t thrown into another killing game again, but they did something a little different than that so it wasn’t as boring as it very easily could have been. I’m really glad that you told me to watch the two arcs at the same time because the color palette and overall tone is way too dark to sit through twelve episodes of.
I’m pretty split on the Despair arc. I liked it starting out but when mind control started becoming such an important part of the plot, it started going downhill. Like I said, I don’t think the idea of brainwashing needs to be taken out completely, just nerfed. It would help Junko manipulate so many people to her side so quickly but wouldn’t be able to control their minds. I thought brainwashing in DR2 seemed to be used interchangeably with “indoctrinating” but it can be used in this context too. Being able to control people’s minds seems to not mesh too well with what Junko said on how she was able to convert people. I went back and watched a few snippets of the sixth trial and while nothing too explicit, they don’t exactly seem to be implying the same thing. There is one thing that blatantly contradicts the second game–in DR3, Junko is able to recruit Izuru by just taking advantage of his boredom, but in the second game, she says that she, quote, “broke his spirit.” There’s no reason Junko would lie about that. When she lies for kicks like that, she immediately confesses once she gets the reaction she wants. You could stretch it but ehhhh. I’d talk about a few other things that could have been taken advantage of, but the mind control brainwashing was one of the worst parts of the entire series for me.
On the other hand, the Despair arc added to Hajime’s character and added even more to his relationship with Chiaki. I liked it a lot, and seeing them play video games with each other was sweet. It was even sweeter when she hung outside of the reserve students’ part of the school waiting for him. You’d think Hajime would have told her he wouldn’t be around anymore.
I don’t have very much to say on the new characters. I feel like I should have cared about them more, but they didn’t do much for him. Yukizome was fine and had some nice moments with her students but that’s about it. The “mastermind”’s idea was so dumb, it actually took me a while to figure out what was going on. The only characters whose arc did something for me was Ruruka and Seika. I think Sakakura being in love it Munakata was supposed to be a plot twist? It was so obvious it’s hard to tell. Oh, and Mitarai exists. I cannot name one character trait he has because I forgot about him.
I know why they couldn’t, and why they didn’t, but DR3 should have focused on the pre-existing cast. All of the characters are already set up. Introductions were minimal, and people are familiar with them. Newcomers would already be mostly lost (and from the reviews, they certainly were), so why not go all out? Better completely lose everyone not familiar with the series than give us new characters who have to have their arcs go through so quickly. So many new characters in just 24 episodes was way too much for me to remember. Or care about them. Or at least for me.
I promise, I enjoyed the anime and I want to re-watch it in the English dub before my Funimation free trial expires since it’s apparently an official abridged kind of thing and Kyoko’s final line was an outtake. That is way too funny to pass up. There were a few big problems (there’s probably more but the mind control and the overly happy ending were the biggest ones for me) but it didn’t nearly destroy it for me. I think the set up for the tragedy at Hope’s Peak pretty well. The actual slaughter was a little bit rushed, but it was still good. And gory, but it worked. Izuru blankly watching everything go down just to get some kind of entertainment was…yeah. It pretty much tells you all you need to know about him. It makes perfect sense why Junko would lie about the Hope’s Peak Tragedy, and it certainly makes more sense for such an apathetic person not to do something like that. When the explanation behind it was first presented to us, I thought Izuru just lost his mind just because he was nothing. He was built to be nothing but a figurehead with a bunch of talents and he got sick of it. I’m completely fine with the different explanation given to us. I want to talk about what other stuff I like about it, but I just plain enjoyed it, and want to re-watch it soon. After I watch the anime of the first game, of course.
I could complain about it some more but I don’t really feel like saying so many negative things about something I liked. XD
Glad you enjoyed the anime! I did too! And yeah, it is pretty divisive among the fandom, but don’t let haters ruin it for you and vice-versa. If you liked it, you liked it.
Yes how could they watching Chiaki die again sucked. And in such an awful way too. At least we got to see Izuru cry a little but that’s like the only happy part of it. That and the fact he didn’t kill her (like I and everyone else thought). Cinnamon roll did not deserve that :(
I’m actually kind of okay with the brainwashing thing? I do think it could have been done better, but we only have Junko’s word that she’s charismatic enough to turn people into a terrorist cult, and the class was so unified at that point she couldn’t have converted them one by one (look how fast they noticed Mikan was missing). Even Izuru didn’t buy that “despair = wonderful!” shtick and only hung around because he was bored. I think a mix would have worked better–like Mikan and Nagito are so unstable I can see Junko being able to push them over the edge, but people like Ibuki and Nekomaru? They’d probably have needed some kind of mind control.
They kiiiiiiiind of explain it with Hajizuru using his Ultimate Everything to bring everyone back and undo the brainwashing. As for Kyoko: @hopeymchope actually wrote a post explaining that Kyoko’s fake-out death was meant to serve as a parallel to Chapter 5 of the first game. Rather than sacrificing Makoto to save herself, she sacrifices herself to save Makoto, and that showcases her development. And in that vein, yeah, I see why they did it. I just wish they hadn’t included so many other fake-out deaths, or that they hadn’t done it in the first place since they wrote themselves into a corner.
(I am right with you in the throes of saltiness that they didn’t bring Chiaki back. So salty I’m writing a fic that does hello shameless self-plugging)
The fanbase went nuts when he first said “memes”. There were memes about him saying memes (speaking of, that scene is even funnier in the English version). But yes, Izuru Kamukura ended up being one of the best parts of the anime. He was written really well and got some good character development. It shot him right up to one of my favorite characters. Not bad for a guy who got maybe five minutes of screentime in his source game.
Yeah, I also wish we got to see more of “fused” Hajime + Izuru. The little we did see was really cool.
Nobody knows how his hair got so long so fast. It just…exploded out of his skull. It is one of the unanswered mysteries of DR (along with how it always looks like it’s in a shampoo commercial. Seriously, those locks have volume). Ditto for how you magically implant luck into someone.
Monokuma Hunter was a neat game. I remember when the anime was still running, people had a lot of fun guessing the character’s forbidden actions. There were also some funny jokes about them (like Kiyotaka being the mastermind because Makoto couldn’t run in the hall). I think I like Future Arc less than Despair Arc simply because they don’t let you get attached enough to the newcomers, or else make it really obvious when they’re going to off someone.
I actually buy that Junko was lying (or at least exaggerating) about her abilities and how she swayed everyone in the second game, since her goal was to drive them into despair and possess their bodies. So making things look as bad as possible to further that goal is something I can see her doing. In a different vein, I took Junko’s line about breaking Izuru’s spirit to mean she thought she’d broken his spirit, and never realized he was more interested in watching the hope vs despair conflict than in despair.
Yeeeeeeeeees the Hinanami was so cute, one of the highlights of Despair Arc. And seeing more Hajime was great, especially pre-SDR2 Hajime! There’s an amazingly marked difference between how he acts when he thinks he’s a “nobody” and when he thinks he isn’t, cool to analyze. Hajime actually didn’t know he wouldn’t be returning from the project, so that’s why he didn’t tell Chiaki.
Yeah, a lot of the newer cast didn’t stand out to me. Just about the only ones I liked were Seiko and Koichi. Chisa’s okay at times, and…that’s it. Just wasn’t enough screentime for the others. Ahahaha yeah, Juzo being gay was supposed to be a twist, but half the fanbase had guessed it by then. Ryota is…ugh. Do not like him. And the less said about the mastermind the better.
I think Izuru does have some pent-up resentment over how everyone’s used him (his dialogue in Chapter 0 sounded pretty damn bitter). But I also like the fact they made him a neutral observer rather than snapping, it actually serves to contrast him pretty well with Junko. They’re both geniuses, perpetually bored, and seeking a way out of it–but whereas Junko gets off to despair, Izuru doesn’t. He doesn’t enjoy suffering, while she does, but he also doesn’t care enough to intervene. And while he can see the unpredictability of despair, he finds value and interest in hope too, while Junko just thinks that hope is stagnant. It made him a much deeper and more interesting character compared to the game, where he was more a “shadow” for Hajime.
The anime of the first game is...um...let’s just say it skips over a lot of things. It’s definitely not something I’d buy membership for, but if you’re already using your free trial...
There’s actually not a lot of places you can go from here, once you watch the dubbed DR3. There’s some supplementary material you can read if you want, but that was pretty much the last of the HPA arc. The newest game, NDRV3, did come out, but it hasn’t been released to the West yet–won’t til this September. So again, that’s an entire section of spoilers you need to avoid.

Naruto, Fairy Tail, BNHA, and Horimiya for the meme :3
Naruto
Favorite character: It’s a two way tie between Sakura and Sasuke. I’d rather die than pick between the two lol.
Second favorite character: Sasori (curse those red haired characters)
Least favorite character: hahahahaha.... Naruto. I do not care for him at all.
The character I’m most like: Well, none of them really fit my personality, but if I had to pick, it would be Shikamaru. We’re both lazy and lack motivation lmfao.
Favorite pairing: Easy. SasuSaku.
Least favorite pairing: Naru///Saku
Favorite moment: In Naruto Gaiden (I don’t recall the chapter) where Sarada asks how can Sasuke be so sure of his feelings towards Sakura and he answers with, “Because we have you, Sarada/Because you exist, Sarada.” 10000/10. I die every time. It’s so powerful and confident and oh does it give me the doki dokis
Rating out of 10: 7/10. I do enjoy Naruto to an certain extent, but there could have been things done differently.
Fairy Tail
Favorite character: Lucy
Second favorite character: Fuck, I got to go with another two way tie of Natsu and Levy. I can’t help it wahhh.
Least favorite character: I am seriously contemplating whether I should write this character down, because she used to be one of my favorites and now I’m just disappointed with her character as of now. I know she has a lot of fans whom follow me, so I’ll keep my mouth shut. (If curious, I’ll answer in private ^^)
The character I’m most like: I had to confer with my bff for this one, but we both deemed me as Erza XD
Favorite pairing: NaLu. My canon babies ;v;
Least pairing: Gru///via
Favorite moment: Any time Fairy Tail comes back and starts kicking ass. I just get so in my feels.
Rating out of 10: 8/10. It can be cheesy (sometimes unnecessarily so), but I love it. The fanservice is whatever. It doesn’t bother me too much.
BNHA
Favorite character: Bakugou lmfao. No competition there.
Second favorite character: Kaminari
Least favorite character: Who else but that little gremlin?
The character I’m most like: probably Kaminari
Favorite pairing: Kacchako
Least pairing: Baku///Deku nope, nope, nope. I have a few other ones I’m getting less and less okay with, because of certain parts of their fandom.
Favorite moment: I haven’t gotten too far in either manga or the show, but I’m always a sucker for that Bakugou/Ochako battle.
Rating out of 10: -- I’ll put a rating when I get more into it.
Horimiya
Favorite character: Hori Kyoko!
Second favorite character: Akane Yanagi my precious bean
Least favorite character: None. I like them all.
The character I’m most like: Most definitely Hori.
Favorite pairing: Hori/Miyamura (my babies ;v;)
Least favorite pairing: I don’t have any.
Favorite moment: All of them honestly. The manga is chalk full of good moments. I do enjoy whenever Miyamura says he’s on his period lmao.
Rating out of 10: 10/10. This is one of my favorite mangas. All of the characters are perfect and I love everything about this.
#cielsmom#meme me up scotty#ahhh waifu thank you!#naruto#fairy tail#bnha#horimiya#i'll do the other one you sent in the next ask

I don’t know if the last one ever submitted since I got an error message so just to be safe, I’ll send it again. You can delete this if you got it anyway.
For the “Leon thing being written upside-down”, it was the same in the Japanese version? That definitely works more there, but couldn’t the localizers have changed it or something? Make it so part of the blood was wiped away, or smeared, and it would be harder to tell? That might have been able to fix up the problem easily enough. Ah, well. There are definitely some people who hadn’t picked up on it. Not because they’re dumb or anything of course, but because they think differently.
I’m going to kind of skim through the second, third, and fourth case because they’re not very interesting to talk about. It was mostly the mid-game stuff so it would probably be the most boring part of the game if I ever decided to replay DR for whatever reason that might be. I'm not saying it was bad–in fact, I was very invested in what happened to Chihiro, and the double-murders was a really fun aspect to everything.
Sakura’s death had the most emotional investment–especially since I had been talking to her a little more on my free time periods, and I like how the ideas for the culprits were flying all over the place, complete with three different confessions. I thought what happened was kind of obvious but it was still pretty neat, and I liked it. Hina wanting to kill everyone as punishment for “killing” her best friend was an interesting take too. I could definitely see where she was coming from. When Hina confessed, my first thought was that Sakura had gotten Hina to poison her protein drink so Hina’d have “murdered” her, Sakura would write a suicide note, everyone would think it was a suicide, vote Sakura, and Hina would be able to escape the school. Hina confessed because she wouldn’t be able to handle herself with the knowledge that she’d helped Sakura to kill herself, then killed everyone else in the school in the process. It wasn’t nearly as dramatic as that, but that would have flown, right?
The gameplay for the trials was as fun, as always. I like being able to use other people’s statements as truth bullets. That always manages to spice up the gameplay. The rhythm mini-game is probably the most fun. Whenever I’m firing the truth bullets, I usually end up applying Ace Attorney logic to things and that sometimes screws me up. The Hangman’s Gambit is kind of lame. I still haven’t forgiven it for calling DID “schizo”. I get why they couldn’t make the player spell out the entire thing, or DID, but why did they use Hangman’s Gambit for it at all? I’m going to just say this is something that was really hard to localize/translate and it worked at least a little better in the Japanese version of the game.
I just don’t have much else to say about this portion of the game, except Celeste’s execution was so suiting to her character; it was very elegant, but just as brutal as I expected from this game. The creators have done such a great job on putting together these creative executions which is…worrying, but I’ll just not think about it and just enjoy them for what they are.
Anyway, I’ve gotten to the first free time period after the fourth trial and I’m pretty sure this is where the game’s story starts to pick up. Things are moving a lot faster, and there’s a lot more stuff being introduced. Like the sixteenth student, Sakura hinting that the Mastermind probably did something to us, sneaking into locked areas with Kyoko, etc..
The sixteenth student was pretty easy to guess (an extra stand in the courtroom “just for decoration”? Yeah, okay, game) but it’s a neat idea and I really want to know were the game’s going with it. I don’t have any idea what they might do, but I’m thinking the sixteenth student was the same person who attacked Makoto in the secret room? On the other hand I’m not sure, because they apparently get killed in chapter five. I don’t think they’d kill off a character that quickly, would they? Sayaka and Leon were kind of necessary, and Junko was to demonstrate that anyone could die so don’t mess around with us. Unless, of course, chapter six is actually the final chapter and “chapter seven” is just an epilogue or something.
Something that was introduced in in between the second and third trials was “The Tragedy”, I think it was? Talked about something horrible that happened a year ago, and the school had to shut down about it. It was dropped until we were able to find that nightmare fuel bloody classroom, complete with body outlines. Interestingly, the blood is red and not pink. I’ve thought up until now that the artists did the pink blood for artsy reasons, but now that I’ve seen actual red blood, I’m starting to think that’s not the case. Byakuya brought up how the blood changed color but since it’s been hinting at that the Mastermind might have done something to the students’ memories/bodies, that could just be one of the things he/she did. Is the students’ blood somehow different than normal blood? Are these characters already dead or something and stuck in purgatory? Cyborgs? Is that why their blood doesn’t look red like blood’s supposed to? Questions, questions. If they are in fact altered in some way, the body outlines might be the characters that we’ve seen thus far. Someone cracked, then went on a rampage, killing what could possibly be some of the characters in the game. Most specifically, Kyoko, Makoto, and possibly the mystery sixteenth student. Whatever her name was. That is, of course, if Kyoko isn’t the sixteenth student herself and is acting in as one of the students that didn’t miraculously survive the slaughter.
That’s all I can remember what I wanted to speculate about, so I’ll talk about the characters next.
I like Makoto a fudge more. I don’t dislike him, but I don’t really like him, either. He’s not as dense as he was in the first trial so that’s probably the main reason. I remember he said that neither of the killers in trial three were entirely innocent, which is a good change of pace from last time. I can’t really tell if it’s inconsistent writing, or him growing as a character because he hasn’t really changed all that much. He’s still a little personality-less, but like I said before, I don’t dislike him at all. The player’s mostly here to experience the ride with him and that’s fine. The other characters are zany enough to keep me interested so everything won’t get stale.
Kyoko’s interesting, and probably my favorite of the students so far. She seems to be the female lead next to Makoto. I don’t have much to say about her. I’m glad she’s not giving me the answers to everything anymore but still helpful. I have a star next to her name in my character profile thing so I guess that means I’ve talked to her to the maximum amount?
Genocide Jill’s…fun, I guess? Seeing her murder victims and how brutal she was to them really makes her a little too psychotic to entirely enjoy the brand of humor she’s supposed to be bringing to the table. She can still be pretty funny sometimes though. Her random spouting of a website during a “testimony” was really funny. Still, though, she’s still pretty entertaining a lot of the time.
Byakuya’s a Grade A Asshole although I’d rather him not die soon because we’re running low on students. The potential murderer will always have him to kill and not me.
I like Hina. She has a fun personality.
Hiro’s dumb. There’s nothing I have to say on him. He’s just so useless and pointless to the plot. …But he’s also another person that someone can kill that isn’t me. I take back what I said about him being pointless. He still has his uses.
And Monokuma is still the most entertaining character in the game. I liked the advertisement he shoved in my face during the theater thing. His emoticons, fourth wall leaning, and sometimes outright fourth wall breaking make him that much more entertaining. Yeah, I just said it was hard for me to swallow Genocide Jill’s brand of humor because of how psychotic she was, but her brand of psycho is very different than Monokuma’s. Also, he pulled the Censored for Comedy trope. How can I not love him forever?
This is as long as I want to go. I probably made a bunch of typos and run-on sentences so I apologize. In my defense, it’s late and I want to be able to write all this down before I forget. Yeesh, I can only imagine how much I’ll want to talk about everything once I finish the game. XD
Meanwhile… must…resist…from…going…to…TV…Tropes…
----
It was the exact same. I’m not sure why they didn’t change it, maybe censorship laws or something...but then again it is the first case, so it’s probably not all too bad to have it easy for the audience. The real mystery comes from figuring out Sayaka’s role in it, in my opinion.
Personally I found case 2 the hardest, and cases 3 and 4 easy to guess the culprit--though Aoi claiming to have killed Sakura did throw me off, and I started wondering whether she had or why. I like the idea you came up with, though, my best was “maybe she was way more gutted over her being the mole than anyone else? and killed her for ‘betraying’ her?” Either way it was still very emotional. Chihiro’s trial still sticks as my favorite though, the little guy was so fascinating and important and had some real depth.
Hangman’s Gambit is a bane on all players, haha. Like I guess they did “schizo” for convenience (since DID would be really easy), but from what I hear it was more accurate in the original Japanese version.
I liked Celeste’s execution a lot, too. Monokuma setting it up to be the grand death she’d love, only to switch out by having her die a common death she’d hate, is very trollish and clever of him. Not to mention the visuals are probably my favorite.
Yep, this is the part of the story where everything really starts rolling towards the climax!
Chapter six is the last chapter. As for the sixteenth student and the masked attacker...that’s one of the grand mysteries of the school!
No, the blood being pink is just a stylistic choice--I think the blood there is red there to signify that it’s dried. They were going to go with all red blood originally, but had to change it to avoid a higher rating. That said...there is something wrong with the students, that Monokuma has done. You’ll find out what eventually :)
Makoto is kind of vanilla, but I like him because genuinely nice, male characters are kind of rare. He is a bit static, but I don’t necessarily think that’s a problem since it lets him be a “normal” point for the audience.
Yep, that’s what it means. And yes, Kyoko’s one of my favs too. I really liked her argument with Makoto in Chapter 4, it was petty and hypocritical and really humanized her. Her mentor/friend relationship with him works really well, and they play off each other’s weakness.
Toko and Jill are also favorites of mine, for reasons I can’t say. But they are a set of the most interesting characters in the game.
Byakuya’s still a giant dick, but I was actually kinda warming up to him at the end, if only because Toko/Jill’s stalking brought some needed levity.
I never took that much of a liking to Aoi, for some reason. She’s sweet, but just didn’t interest me as much as everyone else around her, I guess.
LOL, you’re not alone in your thoughts on Hiro. I was sick to death of him by the time Chapter 5 rolled around, like “YOU’RE alive but Kiyotaka and Chihiro aren’t?!” At least Byakuya contributes to trials.
Monokuma will always be one of the best characters in the franchise. Always.
Again, it’s no problem, and I still love hearing people’s thoughts on it! Seeing everyone’s speculations and guesses is a lot of fun, and it makes me happy to know you’re enjoying this great game so much :)
Resist! It’s worth it! (Especially since TvTropes doesn’t hide spoilers for any of the DR entries except the newest one)
