Justin and Neha are so much more volatile to each other in the idol au.

They never met before TDI but Justin worked on a photoshoot a couple months prior to TDI with Mahavir, Aarav and some other models. He still doesn't know who they are or that 'Noah' is related to them.

One night Mahavir came back visibly upset and Aarav was fuming which is really out of character for the two

Neha managed to needle out what happened and she was seething, deciding then and there that this 'Justin' guy was at the very top of her purge list

No one is allowed to make fun of her brother's height or call any of them ugly except her

She was so gonna set Mahavir's fans on him

She recognised Justin as soon as he strutted on the show

Meanwhile, the whole Justin thinking 'Noah' is a demon thing? Yeah, that's blown out of proportion now

It started with Eva and Izzy when Eva said he wasn't even that attractive and Izzy stopped complementing him, clearly the cause of a supernatural entity - the only person who didn't show any attraction to him, in fact glaring out of clear jealousy, 'Noah'

Then Owen stopped talking to him for a brief moment of time before going back to his usual schtick, even more proof as well as evidence that Justin's attractiveness could counteract the demon's powers

Things really escalated when his two biggest supporters on the show, the two fangirls, Sadie and Katie stopped fawning over him and started hanging around the demon instead, clearly under its influence

Then, after the drama brothers broke up, Trent started hanging around Katie more and therefore was obviously contaminated by the demon's power

Which means that Justin's popularity dipping and the drama brother's break up was clearly the demon's fault

He really needs to come up with a solution to defeat the demon soon before it conquers the rest of the world as he, the beautiful majestic being he is, is the world's only hope to survive against the hell spawn!!

Yeah, Justin isn't exactly malicious on purpose but he is an idiot with main character syndrome and delusional.

He genuinely believes that his beauty is a gift from the heavens and 'Noah' is a demon trying to steal his power from him that he must get rid of for the sake of the world

Which, when 'he' is still on the show in world tour and Justin gets a chance to join the competition? It's clearly a sign from God

Cue two people hating on each other for two completely different reasons but thinking the other is their mortal enemy.

Long rambles and extra pictures below the cut

Maybe I got a bit ambitious with the composition, especially since I was scrounging for time to get this done (we had quite a busy month) which meant I couldn't focus on details as much. But I knew I wanted to make something that felt significant for my boi.

I initially planned to include even more characters; the entirety of Gen 1 and a handful of others, but I knew that would've been too much for me to handle.

So I left on the cutting room floor-

The characters who Cody is on more negative terms with canonically (Duncan, Courtney, Alejandro)

Katie and Sadie (Sorry)

All but three of the post Gen 1 characters.

It's also the one year anniversary of posting my Total Drama art. Not that it's an especially significant thing to note, but it's pretty cool nonetheless.

Here are some alternate renders.

The background is mostly just a mix of background tiles & tones in MediBang, as well as overlays and decorative brushes.

Next are the characters laid out individually and transparently (Sans Justin, Trent, DJ and Lightning as they're egregiously incomplete below the shoulders (At least they have a full head, which is more than can be said of Zeke or Sierra))

Cody & Dawn and LeShawna & Beth were drawn on the same layer, so I can't really separate them.

Geoff, Izzy and Tyler are just very small.

Some characters get cool outfits, some get very light redesigns, a couple look pretty much how they do in the show.

Izzy is dressed as a piñata, because why wouldn't they be?

Harold's look is very loosely based on Beat from JSRF

LeShawna's design is based on a look she has in Dramarama.

I can't draw Gwen the same way twice.

Nobody else has any specific inspirations for their looks.

Now that I think of it, the centre of the drawing is not dissimilar to what I drew last year. Similar compositionally, but different contextually.

Kinda embarrassing to look at my older art now, but that just means I'm super happy with the stylistic evolution. You can tell I've gotten more comfortable with the way I draw TD characters.

Anyway, enough of my rambling.
