KUROO, your business partner and bestfriend, had one birthday wish and that's for you to attend a party as his fiancee, his fake fiancee
3k+ f!reader, friends to lovers, fake dating
ꨄ︎ happy birthday to the male lead of my life! wishing you'd finally show up for real now lmao
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“So Kuroo, you’re turning thirty this weekend, right?”
“No, sir, just twenty-nine.” Kuroo gave a stiff and stony grin. Mr. Onitsuka, the CEO of the sportswear company he was trying to get as a sponsor, happened to be a rigid family man.
“Just twenty-nine...” There’s certainly some hint of disappointment with how it sounded from the older man.
Kuroo gulped and bit the inside of his cheeks. This deal was his most important thus far. We’re dealing with one of Japan’s prestigious brands. He couldn’t let this opportunity pass, especially that he just recently got promoted as the Sports Ambassador for the Japan Volleyball Association.
“Well, we can feature our players-”
“You mean athletes.” Mr. Onitsuka corrected.
Kuroo gulped and almost banged his head against the nearest wall. Of course, athletes! Not players.
Not a “player” like...him.
Who would’ve thought that his singleness was not a good credential for the strictly traditional man in front of him? Everyone who’d see the specimen of a man Kuroo was could tell that he had a high market value among the ladies, which screamed one thing. He must be a player!
“Yes, that’s right. Athletes...”
“Look, Kuroo, it’s clear that you had everything well-planned out.” Mr. Onitsuka closed the folder. “But I’m sure you can’t do all this by yourself...”
“I know someone who could cover this partnership.” Kuroo beamed, excitedly. His face lit up like he had the most brilliant plan out of his pocket. “We’ve been together and conquered a lot by now. I would even bet my life to guarantee you that she is the best!” He pronounced, loud and proud.
“I never heard about her before.” Mr. Onitsuka's expression changed into something a bit lighter. “So when did the both of you start together?”
At last! He’s passing the test. Kuroo thought.
“Oh, me and Y/N? We began working on a project about a year ago and we really hit it off so well. Our chemistry’s just...out of this world.”
Kuroo’s phone rang with the Star Wars’ Imperial March, a ringtone you personally assigned for yourself. Mr. Onitsuka saw your name and said, signaling for Kuroo to answer the phone, “Your girlfriend.”
In a slight panic, Kuroo almost juggled the phone in his hand. For a short while, he thought that he was now accepted by Mr. Onitsuka, however there seemed to be a misunderstanding. He wanted to clear it up, but he had to answer you first...
“H-Hello...” Kuroo gulped. “How’s my girl?” He saw a tinge of disappointment on Mr. Onitsuka's face, and he got agitated, mindlessly spouting things off. “How’s my beautiful...” Of course, he couldn’t say girlfriend. “Bride...” Shit! That's too sudden, so he added. “...to-be.” Bride to-be?
Oh crap. He ran his mouth without thinking.
You laughed. “Wait...Are you drunk?”
“Mhm hmmm...so drunk on you, only on you, babe.” Kuroo winked at Mr. Onitsuka, who was obviously enjoying the show he was putting on.
“What have you gotten yourself again, Tetsu?” You cracked up and followed, “Hey...listen, I already reserved the bar for your birthday party. It’s all good now.”
“You’re the best! Wait, love. Just hold on a sec, okay? I’m in the middle of a meeting, but I’ll be there in a heartbeat once this is done.”
You scrunched your face, laughing. “What’s wrong with you? Are you being hit on by an old lady again?”
Kuroo chuckled, genuinely. Oh...that smartmouth of yours...
“Let’s talk about it in a few, alright? See you the soonest, sweetheart. Bye bye, love you.” He hung up and sighed apologetically at Mr. Onitsuka. “Sorry about that. My woman needs me.”
“Then I suggest you go to her right away. You musn’t keep her waiting.” Mr. Onitsuka said, sounding more relieved to have found out that JVA Sports Ambassador Kuroo Tetsurou was a “committed” man. “If that’d be my wife, I’ll be having an earful by now.” The older man oddly broke his rigid exterior and laughed.
“I’ll take that advice to heart,” Kuroo affirmed.
“I’ll be sending the documents with my signature within the week.” Mr. Onitsuka extended his hand and Kuroo shook it. “It was nice meeting you, Kuroo. I’ll see you and your fiancee on your birthday party.”
Kuroo chuckled, nervously. “Can’t wait, sir.”
Now, he’s left with convincing you to be his future wife even just for a night.
⋆ ˚ ꩜ 。 ⋆୨୧˚
As the new sports ambassador for JVA, Kuroo now carries the image of the sport, well, including its athletes. As much as it’s great to recognize that Volleyball athletes were good-looking, values such as commitment must be reflected as well. Kuroo knew that.
Though he admittedly had a past of dating around and exploring his options, it wasn’t the deal now. Kuroo wanted to commit but...he wanted to be slow and careful...
Opening up the door to the restaurant, he immediately spotted you browsing on your phone. He didn’t miss the look of the man seated beside you on one of the bar stools. He sighed. Another one of those bastards...
Approaching you, Kuroo wrapped an arm around your shoulders and planted a kiss on your forehead. “So, how’s the check-up? Is our little peanut okay? I’m sorry I missed it.” He said, making sure that the man heard.
You subtly rolled your eyes and answered back, “He just kicked inside me now like he wanted to kick you instead.”
Kuroo acted animatedly amused. “Sounds like his mother. That’s too early.” Taking the other seat beside you, he swiveled your chair so you’re facing him.
“Last week you put a ring on me and now it’s a baby.” You snickered. “What’s next, Tetsu? Retirement plan?”
“Come on. I’m just being the best bestfriend there is. Plus, you have saved my ass a million of times too.”
Indeed, you didn’t know when it started but you and Kuroo played as each other’s fake partner whenever you’re both being hit on by strangers you didn’t like.
“Yeah, remind me to pose as your lovesick wife next time.” You joked and Kuroo rubbed his chin.
“Maybe at my birthday party?” He suggested.
You took a sip of your juice. “Yeah, sure.”
“No, seriously, though.” He took your hand and held it firmly. “Mr. Onitsuka...”
“Oh, Family Guy...”
“Exactly! I...” He’s now starting to take out his greatest weapon, his sad boy pout and unfortunate doe eyes.
Oh. “How did you mess up this time?”
His hold on your hand tightened. “I might’ve made it seem like we’re getting married.”
That explained the cheesy lovey-dovey petnames a while ago.
You were speechless. Kuroo’s not the one to lie. He’s always the straightforward guy, so... “How the hell did that...”
“I don’t know. Man, he’s been grilling me with my life plan, my age and all, that I had a slip-up.”
Well, you’ve done this countless times before, but his birthday party was a different thing. His friends and some colleagues will be there. You looked at your joined hands and then back at his troubled expression.
“Y/N, just for my birthday, please...” Kuroo pleaded, “Be my lovesick wife even just for that day.”
⋆ ˚ ꩜ 。 ⋆୨୧˚
Kuroo leaned on his car as he marveled at you so breathtakingly beautiful in a red dress. Playfully, he whistled. “It might be hard for me to think this is all pretend when you’re doing some serious damage on me with that dress.”
Equally, you admired how handsome he was in that black sweater, and got lost at the sight of him that you almost trip on your wat to his side. Almost.
“Don’t worry. I’ll keep you in check.” Lightheartedly, you set an alarm in your smartwatch. “You got me until midnight, love.”
The two of you laughed.
Today’s the big day. Tetsu’s birthday. And yes, the birthday part did get you to agree to his "proposal".
In no time, you reached the little bar you rented. It was cozy and had a little dancefloor and disco lights that could make the activities later on at night extra special.
You assisted in arranging a party for him, inviting his close friends and some colleagues. No lies, you’re a little nervous. This was different from the strangers you’d been fooling.
This is it...
Kuroo pulled you closer to him, grabbing you by the waist. “You got this, sweetheart.” He brought your hand to his lips. You gave him a prim smile and he opened the door for you.
You were welcomed by familiar faces which put you at ease, while he had a hand at the small of your back. All the worries you had earlier dissipated. Having Kuroo right next to you like this made you feel more confident.
Though everyone had their eyes on the two of you, everything about this situation felt natural. The electricity that surrounded you...It was so strong. The chemistry you had the first time you met was glowing in front of everyone right now. You could tell that they looked at you and Kuroo like you’re made for each other.
“Here comes the future Mr. and Mrs. Kuroo,” Kenma welcomed, mischievously knowing fully well what the both of you were up to.
Lev greeted, “Happy Birthday and Congratulations!”
“What? I thought you two are already married!” Bokuto remarked, which shocked the both of you. “I mean... ever since you two got along, Kuroo talked about nothing but you. I even got a little sad because I thought I wasn’t invited.”
Kuroo was just pretending not to be affected by all this, but he’s definitely dying on the inside as Bokuto ratted him out. Slowly, you tilted your head to sneak a glance at your “fiance”.
“W-What?” he asked.
You giggled and teased, “I didn’t know I’ve been on your mind a lot.”
Kuroo just simply scoffed. This was totally not how he planned things to work out.
Mr. and Mrs. Onitsuka finally arrived at the scene. Kuroo squeezed your hand as if you were going to face the biggest challenge of your life.
“Kuroo,” The old man called as he patted Kuroo’s shoulder, “Happy Birthday, boy!”
This was shocking. Mr. Onitsuka went from a scary strict dad to a friendly goofy one. It must be the effect of being with you.
“Thank you, sir. Ma’am,” Kuroo acknowledged Mrs. Onitsuka’s presence, taking her hand and placing a kiss on her knuckles.
“Hmm...You sure know your way with the ladies.” The older woman complimented.
“Gives me headache every now and then,” you said, playfully, which made the old couple laugh.
“You must be Y/N,” Mr. Onitsuka shook your hand. “Now, I know why you got this boy to settle down.” He patted Kuroo’s chest twice. “You’re such a lucky man to have someone like Y/N right here beside you.”
“See, even you could tell how bad she got me.” Kuroo glanced at you with an unexplainable softness in his gaze. “So damn bad.”
The way he looked at you, his smile, his eyes, almost stopped your heartbeat. You felt so little...small? Cute? Weak in the knees? Excuse me. You’re probably smiling like a preschooler having a crush right now, but this felt like a fairytale. Someone must stop you.
“You both looked so good together I wonder how you fell in love with each other.” Mrs. Onitsuka mused.
Kuroo confidently replied, “It was love at first sight...”
You choked up a laughter at his statement. Love at first sight? Crazy....
He raised a brow at you with a vexed and hurt expression on his face.
“Hey, now! It sounds like a Hallmark movie. You can’t blame me,” you reasoned out.
“But it was the truth!”
Kuroo took a long and deep inhale. His eyes refused to look back at you as he explained, “When we met for the first time to finalize our partnership for the Volleyball video game project, I really thought you’re beautiful, and as lucky as I am, you’re also smart, funny and someone whom I found comfortable to be myself with.”
Smiling, you recalled that moment. It wasn’t only him who felt that way that day. “Yeah...that’s...” ...what you felt too. You almost forgot this was all just a pact.
The two couples found your bickering very amusing, which roused their curiosity even more. “Well...let’s go to the proposal. How did our lady’s man right here propose?”
“I first asked her to marry me during the successful launch of our first project.” Kuroo shared to spark a memory in you, bashfully rubbing the back of his neck.
“What?”
“You really can’t remember?” He complained.
You explained, “I thought you’re just talking about our next projects to come.”
He gave you a stare of disbelief like you’re the stupidest, silliest girl alive.
You paused for a moment, trying to grasp what happened in the past when Mr. Onitsuka cut your musing with a laugh.
“Those were the days...” Mrs. Onitsuka admiringly commented.
Mr. Onitsuka sighed. “I guess we’ll leave you two alone then.”
You and Kuroo bowed your heads as gesture, watching the older couple take their seats.
A sigh of relief escaped the both of you and you looked at each other chuckling.
“Let’s go?” Kuroo invited, taking your hand to pull you close to him until he had an arm around your waist.
You nodded your head, giggling. For the rest of the night, you did nothing but that. He was greeted from time to time, but he’d always return his attention to you. He pulled your chair close to him and playfully fed you with spoonfuls that had your mouth full—ridiculously full that you were swatting his arm almost non-stop.
You didn’t drink anything alcoholic, but it felt like you were tipsy. You didn’t know where this endless happiness was coming from. It’s that free bubbly feeling that just fizzled out inside you. You were always playful and childlike around Kuroo, but there’s something in this moment that was just different. It was like you were set free–free to express whatever it was you wanted to for a long time.
Kuroo rubbed your belly, “Looks like our little peanut is getting bigger now.”
You both laughed at his teasing. “It’s ‘cause you’re feeding me a lot, dummy!”
“What can I say? I’m just simply being a good provider. Making sure that the love of my life is well-fed and happy.” He boasted and you rolled your eyes.
Kuroo was so close to you, the warmth of his body surrounding you in full as he had you caged all to himself. Your body moved on its own and you laced your arms around him, burying your face in the crook of his neck. All of a sudden, you didn’t want to let go.
You didn’t know why, but your heart was about to burst at any moment now. He’s right. You’re... “Happy...” You said with a muted voice. “Birthday, Tetsu.”
Kuroo embraced you back and even tighter, closing his eyes firmly while he was holding you so close like you’re something that could melt away in his arms at any moment. “I’m happy. I’m very very happy right now, Y/N.”
He parted a bit, cupping your face with both hands. You searched for his eyes, and he probed yours. Your gaze shifted to his lips while his did the same thing, lingering a little on yours. You swallowed.
What is this?
Kuroo bit his lip. His eyelids were getting heavy as he was reaching forward. You had your lips parting a bit, just enough so you’re breathing from the space between.
What’s happening? What’re you anticipating?
Slowly, your noses touched.
Just a little bit more...
But the speaker close to you started blaring, shocking you both from your little moment and made you laugh instead.
Kuroo stood up and extended a hand, “Care for a dance?”
You accepted, taking the dance floor with him. He had his hands on the sides of your waist as you both swayed to the music. Your eyes were not leaving each other’s as you both got lost in the moment, cheeks hurting from the smile that won’t just fade away.
“Screaming, I testify that we'll survive the test of time they can't deny our love.” The lyrics blazed all over and you let yourselves loose, singing the song together. “They can’t divide us. We’ll survive the test of time. I swear that I’ll be right hereeee!”
You both burst out laughing at each other with how your voices cracked, failing to hit the high note.
“I don’t know why it feels like I’m drunk right now,” Kuroo pondered fondly.
“Drunk on me?” You teased, recalling what he said on the phone last time.
“Most likely,” he smirked and returned, “You know I didn’t have any alcohol.”
You laughed. “Yes, because that mouth of yours may run some BS again.”
“Oh...” He scoffed and rebutted, “You speak as if my mouth is only good at talking.”
Your quirked a brow up. “What else would it ever be good at?”
You’re really getting him so bad like this, huh.
The look in his eyes turned dark and he bit his lip. He stopped dancing, pulled you closer and whispered, “A lot of things.”
His gaze slickly traveled down your lips thirstily taking in how he wanted them so bad. He grazed back to pin your eyes with a serious stare that showed how he’s already at his limit. You gulped, air got stuck in your chest. You were lost at the sight of his handsome face being accentuated by the colorful lights that you failed to ready yourself when he placed a hand behind your head and brought your lips together. Your eyes automatically closed, arms snaked around his body as he had a hand at the small of your back. Your lips danced, gobbling each other passionately, intensely. You’re taking one another’s breath.
At that moment, only the two of you existed, intoxicated by each other’s taste and fully consumed by the fire inside you that finally came blazing after a long time being kept hidden.
Miya Atsumu whistled. “Man, this got me frustrated.”
“Ugh, get a room.” Oikawa chided, bitterly.
“Just admit you’re jealous nobody wants to kiss you that way,” Iwaizumi rebutted while Kenma had his phone up, streaming the entire show.
Your smart watch started alarming, cutting off your kiss. You glanced. It’s already 12 o’clock, which brought you back to reality. This...This was all just an agreement. An odd stabbing pain hit your chest. You looked around and the Onitsukas were nowhere to be found. They must’ve gotten home already. Your heart was knocking loudly in your ear, and you just looked at Kuroo painfully confused.
All these emotions...
“Excuse me,” you said, and briskly walked outside the hall.
Your hands were cold and trembling as you placed them over your lips. It’s done now. You couldn’t run away from it anymore. For so long, you’d been telling yourself it was all just friendship even if you knew that all this time, the person you wanted to be next to you was just him.
With this heavy feeling in your heart, you knew you wouldn’t be able to handle denying anymore. You love Tetsurou more than just a friend.
“Y/N!” You heard him called out, and you shut your eyes firm.
You’d just end up broken if you’d keep on pretending.
Kuroo held your elbow, and you were swept away when he spun you around so you were facing him. He had you in his arms, with his hands clasped at the small of your back.
“Tetsu...” You placed a hand on his chest, putting up a boundary. “Mr. and Mrs. Onitsuka went home already.”
“And so?” He answered, noting that you’re not pushing him away.
“I-It’s already past 12,” you reasoned out with a shaky voice.
He bumped his head into yours. “We can have it extended, you know?” His tone was almost begging.
You chewed on your bottom lip. “What do you mean?” Your heart stammered so hard against your ribcage.
“The love at first sight, the proposal...they’re all real for me, Y/N.” His voice was staggering that you could feel how nervous and scared he was. Scared of losing you and letting this moment slip away. He might not get another chance. “I slipped up that you’re my bride-to-be because that’s what I’ve been wanting to happen all this time.” He ran the tips of his fingers across your cheek. “I love you, Y/N and should’ve shown you how much a lot earlier”
“Oh, Tetsu...” you smiled at the brink of tears. “You’re such an idiot!” You lightly smacked his shoulder and scolded, “I thought I’m gonna be single forever because of you, dummy!”
You both laughed, finally feeling the freedom of having things all let out in the open.
Leaning close to your face, he teased you with his lips lightly grazing against yours as he spoke. “You’re still not answering me...” he muttered under his breath. “It’s past midnight now. Are we extending?”
You smiled against his lips and asked, “For how long?”
Kuroo grinned, pressing your noses together. “Indefinitely.”
And you answered him with a kiss, knowing that you both won’t have anyone standing next to you aside from each other, indefinitely.

bad blood - [h.haddock]
Tumblr media
8.2K wordcount
warnings: death mention, panic attack mentions
requested: no
a/n: i usually don’t do author’s notes on my fics bc i don’t think i have really anything to say lmao. however. i wanted to say a quick word about this one, as it’s a kind of old piece but one i was extremely proud of and worked really hard to complete. i loved the humorous parts i wrote, loved the character arc i gave y/n, and just in general really liked how my writing turned out. also, it’s the second longest one-shot (currently) i’ve ever written! anyways, enjoy my lovelies <3
I disliked Hiccup Haddock more than anything else in the entire world. I didn’t like him at all for a very long time, but… well, here is our story.
“Hey love.” A voice appeared next to my shoulder, and I rolled my eyes.
“Go away, Hiccup,” I demanded, refusing to look at him. I was carving a spear out of a wooden stick, so I kept my focus on my knife running back and forth along the wood.
Even without looking at him, I could tell he had a smirk on his face. “Oh love,” he whined. “I want to talk to you.”
He tugged on one of my small braids that ran down the sides of my hair. I whacked his hand away, still not looking at him. “I said go away,” I said again.
He laughed. “I know.”
“So leave me alone.”
A moment’s pause. “But why?”
“Because I hate you and don’t want you around, annoying me to death. I’m busy.”
“But you’re fun to annoy.”
I turned on him, fiercely glaring up at him. The worst thing about Hiccup was how tall he was compared to me. He wasn’t even that tall, I was just super short. Hiccup was a full head higher than me.
Hiccup had a smirk playing around his mouth. “Hey shortcake.”
I hit him. “Shut up, Hiccup.”
“Aww, c’mon sweetheart. I’m bored.”
“That’s nice.” I crossed my arms protectively. Not that Hiccup would ever actually hurt me. Honestly, if it came down to me being in danger, I was pretty sure he’d defend me. I’d known him longer than anybody else I knew.
I might hate him, but it was the truth. Hiccup was an asshole, but I knew deep down he didn’t absolutely hate me. I guess I didn’t hate him, either. He was just a total pain.
“Go ride Toothless or make a friend or do something. Just leave me alone. I don’t care to see you.”
Hiccup sighed, running a hand through his ruffled brown hair. His green eyes flickered with amusement. “Okay, love. I’ll see you later.”
“Don’t call me that.”
He winked. “Sorry love.”
I resisted the childish urge to stamp my foot. “Hiccup!”
He held up his hands. “Okay… okay.” I almost thought he might actually be genuine, until he smirked. “I’ll stop calling you love… darling.”
I knew there was no shutting him up. I turned on my heel without a word, and stamped angrily into my cabin, slamming the door behind me.
Three seconds passed, then there was a knock on the door. I opened it. “Hiccup, go away!”
Hiccup stood there, grinning mischievously. “Fine, fine. Bye, you.”
I rolled my eyes and shut the door. I’d only just turned around when another knock sounded. I gritted my teeth. “Stupid little —“
I opened the door again and stopped short. “Oh! Stoick. Um, hi.” I swallowed. “Sorry, I, uh, I thought you were Hiccup.”
Stoick looked amused. “That’s alright, y/n.”
“Um, would you like to come in?” I offered.
Stoick nodded, and stepped inside. I suddenly felt very conscious of how messy the place was. I didn’t spend much time here, preferring to roam outside or stay at Astrid, my best friend’s house.
“How are you faring up?” Stoick asked.
I shrugged. “I’m okay. Still getting used to the fact that they’re gone, but, you know. It’s okay. I’m okay.”
Stoick nodded. “If you ever need anything, feel free to let me or Hiccup know.”
I groaned internally. “Yeah, like I’d ever ask him for help,” I muttered.
I hadn’t intended for him to hear, but Stoick chuckled softly. “He doesn’t hate you, you know.”
“Sure,” I said. “Because he thinks I’m fun to annoy.”
“That’s not it.”
I waited, but he didn’t elaborate. “O…kay…” I said slowly. “Um. Great. Well, it’s getting late, so if you don’t mind, uh…”
“Oh! Sure, sure,” Stoick said. “Have a good night, y/n.”
A long time after he left, I stood in my empty, cold house, staring at the door, wishing for something to come and fill the hole that was forming inside of me.
“Y/n, did you hear?”
I turned to my best friend. “Um. No. What happened?”
Astrid brushed her hair out of her eyes. “Stoick just told Hiccup he’s going to become chief soon.”
“Cool.” I returned to making the leather straps I’d been softening for my future dragon’s saddle.
See, the thing is, I don’t have a dragon. I know, that’s so weird, everyone in Berk has one, but I’m, well… a dragon killed my parents a few years ago. I’ve never liked them anyways, but after that, I’ve struggled a lot with my feelings about dragons. I’m sure one day I will overcome this fear inside me and own a dragon, but right now? No way.
“That’s all?” Astrid looked offended. “Y/n, that’s so much cooler than cool.” She suddenly laughed. “You know what this means?”
I frowned a little. “No..?”
“Hiccup has to choose a bride.”
I blinked. “Really? Um, so?”
Astrid rolled her eyes, elbowing me as she sat beside me on the ground. “You know you’re in love with him, y/n/n.”
I pretended to gag. “Ugh, as if! Astrid, you know I hate him. I don’t care at all about him in any way, especially not in a romantic way. I don’t care a single little bit if he has to choose a bride.”
“Sure.” Astrid smirked. “You’re secretly hoping he’ll choose you, aren’t you?”
I shot her a glare that warned her to shut up. “He’ll choose you and you know it,” I said.
Astrid wrinkled her nose. “I doubt it,” she said. “Hiccup and I literally never talk. Besides, everybody knows that me and Stormfly are a forever couple.”
I shook my head at her, but I had to smile. “Well, he won’t choose me, and I don’t care about it anyway.”
Astrid looked like she wanted to argue, but she shut her mouth when she noticed someone walking over to us. When I saw who it was, I sighed.
“What do you want?” I demanded.
“Gee, you’re lovely today, darling,” Hiccup teased, plopping himself down next to us.
“Excuse me,” I pointed out. “We didn’t invite you to sit with us.”
Astrid glanced at me, a smirk playing around her mouth. Her eyes were twinkling. I glared at her. I hate you, I mouthed.
I swung one leg over the log so my back was to Hiccup. “So, Astrid,” I said, a little too loudly. “What do you want to do this afternoon?”
“I’m taking Stormfly out for a ride,” Astrid replied. “You’re welcome to join —“
“No,” I said instantly. “Uh, I mean. No thank you. I’m good.” My hands trembled ever so slightly. I coughed, swallowed, and picked up my leather strap, gripping it tightly to stop the shaking.
Hiccup poked his head over my shoulder. “You know—“
I elbowed him in the ribs so hard he tumbled off the log. “Whoa!” he yelped. “Jeez, y/n!”
“Sorry,” I apologised. “I- you startled me.”
Hiccup rolled his eyes. “No I didn’t. You just like hitting people.”
My mouth tightened. “No I don’t. And stop calling me a liar!”
“When did I call you a liar?” He got to his feet, one arm cradling his ribcage. “You’re violent for literally no reason.”
I glared at him. “You just said I was lying. And I didn’t even hit you that hard.”
Hiccup winced. “Uh- yeah you actually did. I think you broke a rib or something.”
I slammed my work to the ground, getting to my feet and facing the boy. “Stop avoiding the fact that you called me a liar! I never ever ever make up anything.”
My eyes glittered with unwanted tears. Involuntary memories sprang into my mind. My parents hugging me. My father’s voice in my hair, my younger voice begging them to promise to return soon. “Of course we will return, darling,” my father said. “We’ve never lied to you, have we now?”
I blinked, forcing the tears away. I hated crying in any situation, but I wouldn’t be able to stand crying in front of Hiccup. I’d never live it down.
“Whatever.” Hiccup glanced at me. His voice suddenly changed. “Want to see something amazing?”
“Yeah,” I grumbled. “The retreating back of your head would be great, thanks.”
Hiccup rolled his eyes. “I’m serious.”
“So am I!” I turned away from him, and only then did I realise Astrid was nowhere to be seen. She must’ve snuck away while Hiccup and I were arguing.
Hiccup’s hand grabbed my shoulder and spun me around. “C’mon,” he pleaded, and his voice sounded genuinely kind. “It’ll be fun.”
I rolled my eyes. “If I come with you, do you promise to leave me alone after?”
Hiccup nodded.
“Fine,” I muttered. “Where are we going?”
He grinned mischievously. “You’ll see.”
Hiccup turned, and I had no choice but to follow; partly because I was curious, and partly because I wanted him to leave me alone, and this was the only way to guarantee that.
We entered the woods that surrounded the village, and I began to get suspicious. “Hiccup?” I asked. “Where exactly are we going?”
He didn’t answer for almost a minute. “You’ll see.”
I rolled my eyes. “First, that’s not a proper answer. Two, don’t you think that you should tell me before you drag me off somewhere?”
He laughed. “C’mon. Don’t you ever do anything adventurous or risky?”
“Yes,” I answered. “I talk to you.”
“Hey!” He shot me a playful glare.
I managed a smirk. “No, but seriously. Where are you taking me?”
He glanced at me over his shoulder. “Okay. Just stay here a moment. I’ll be right back.”
I frowned, and opened my mouth to complain, but before I could say anything, Hiccup had disappeared into the trees. I had no choice but to wait where I was.
Only a few minutes later, I heard a rush of wind, and a midnight-black dragon landed in front of me. Hiccup sat astride Toothless, one hand in the air.
I yelped, taking a few quick steps backward. “I- shoot, Hiccup. Why are you…” My voice died as Toothless stared at me. A shiver ran down my spine, making me feel sick to my stomach.
“Y/n, it’s fine,” Hiccup assured. “He won’t hurt you. Will ya, bud?”
I shook my head, my throat tightening. “I- no. I can’t do this, Hiccup.” I took another step back, my entire body beginning to shake. This. This what had killed my parents. Dragons couldn’t be trusted. No matter how much Hiccup had tried to convince the village, I would never trust anyone, or anything, ever again.
Hiccup frowned. “Fine.” He leaned down and patted Toothless on the neck. “C’mon, bud. Let’s go.”
Without another word, Toothless spread his wings and they soared into the air.
I stood stock still for a whole minute before I realised I was holding my breath. I let it out all in a rush, and staggered a little. I reached out to hold onto a tree truck for support. My legs felt wobbly and unstable.
I decided it was best if I headed back for the village. I didn’t want to hang around in the woods today anymore. I had a sour taste in my mouth, and I needed some water.
I was twenty meters away from my cabin door when suddenly the ground beneath me was swept away. The village got smaller and smaller, and then I realised what was happening.
“Hiccup Haddock!” I shrieked. Toothless was holding onto my forearms, and I was suspended in the air.
“Yes, m’lady?”
“I am going to kill you!” I yelled up at him, panic temporarily pushing aside my utter agony at being defenceless against a dragon.
“Toothless, put her down,” Hiccup commanded.
Toothless flew around a huge pine tree that was significantly taller than most of the forest, and promptly dropped me onto its highest branches.
I clung to the tree truck, shaking. Tears clogged up my throat, and my legs were so trembly I thought I was going to fall and die.
“Y/n.”
At the sound of Hiccup’s voice, I slowly turned to face him. He looked almost sorry, but I knew that was impossible. The little wretch was trying to make me terrified, for what reason I could only guess. This was his biggest prank yet.
“Hiccup,” I said, trying to keep my voice level (and failing), “you will get me down from here, now.” I gripped the tree tighter. “You will take me home this instant, and you will never ever talk to me again. Do you understand?”
He blinked. “But—“
“Do you understand?!” I yelled.
“Fine,” he sighed. “Here.” He held out his hand.
I stared at it for a second, then gingerly reached out and rested my fingertips on his palm. A tingle ran up the length of my arm. He gripped my wrist, and pulled me up onto the dragon behind him.
Every part of my body that was in contact with the dragon’s felt heated up, like I could burst into flames at any moment. My head pounded in sync with my heartbeat, and my palms were getting sweaty. I was, in short, absolutely terrified.
“… let her down slowly.”
I realised Hiccup was talking. “You got that, bud?”
Toothless made an exasperated grunt, sounding more like a sarcastic teenager than a dragon. That didn’t make me feel any better.
Toothless slowly spread his wings, and for a second, I almost relaxed. Maybe he would fly down gently like Hiccup had asked.
The next second, my illusion shattered. Toothless took off so fast I almost toppled off. I was forced to grab onto the nearest thing to stay onboard (on-dragon?). Unfortunately, that thing happened to be Hiccup.
Whatever. I’d rather not die today. I gripped his shoulders so tightly my knuckles turned white. I squeezed my eyes shut tightly, as if not seeing would make it better for me.
The wind whipped in my ears, blowing my dark hair all around my face. I was so scared, so worried, so distraught I felt like crying. I couldn’t, though. I wasn’t dumb enough to cry in front of Hiccup. He would never let me hear the end of it.
Suddenly, I felt the dragon beneath me twisting sideways. We started spinning, twirling in tight circles. My grip tightened on Hiccup’s shoulders.
Someone was screaming, and I was like eighty-five percent sure it was me.
“Toothless!” Hiccup yelled. “Stop this right now! You’re scaring her!”
Toothless took that as a challenge, and dove toward the ocean a hundred feet below. He showed absolutely no signs of slowing or stopping in any way. I opened my eyes, wanting to at least be able to see something in case I died because of this.
“Thanks for nothing, you useless reptile,” Hiccup muttered. I slowly began to realise that maybe Hiccup wasn’t the one at fault here. Of course. It was the dragon’s fault. Dragons weren’t to be trusted, which was exactly what I’d been thinking this whole time.
Just as we were about to hit the water, Toothless opened up his wings. We shot upward, soaring towards the sugar-spun clouds above us.
We levelled out, and my muscles lost some of their tension. Toothless floated in the air, almost flying gently now. I remembered how to breathe, and let out a long, breathless sigh.
“Hiccup,” I managed, my voice hoarse. “I am going to murder you.”
I melted into him, partly in relief that I wasn’t dead, partly in exhausted terror. My arms went around his waist, my forehead falling to rest on his back. My eyes fluttered shut, and a lone tear streaked down my cheek.
Hiccup didn’t say anything for a long while, and so neither did I. Toothless flew long and slow and level, giving me the slightest chance of not murdering him, too.
I’m not sure how long we stayed like that. All I remember is Hiccup’s voice saying softly, “Sweet dreams, love,” before I fell into the welcome arms of sleep.
I woke slowly, curled in a ball inside a warm, soft bed that didn’t feel like mine. When I finally opened my eyes, I realised why it didn’t feel familiar. I wasn’t even in my house.
I sat up, looking around, trying to work out where I was. With a start, I couldn’t even think of a time I’d been inside any other houses in the village except for Astrid’s. I had no idea whose house this was.
“Morning, m’lady,” said a deep voice from the top of the stairs.
I groaned internally. “Oh, gosh, of course it’s you.” I found myself pulling my fingers through my hair, brushing it as nearly as I could, straightening my shirt, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.
I dragged myself out of the bed. I was still dressed in the same clothes as yesterday, my usual top and skirt combo, with leggings underneath for warmth. My boots were lying on the floor, so I yanked them on.
I glanced up at Hiccup, who was hanging over the banisters, watching me. With a jolt, all the memories of yesterday flooded in.
Red-hot anger filled me. I clenched my fists. “Are you gonna come down here, or should I just murder you up there?”
Hiccup’s eyes widened. “I- what?”
“You heard me,” I muttered. My knife was missing from my belt, which was just great. I’d probably lost in on that horrific flight yesterday.
I stomped up the stairs, stopping on the one below the one Hiccup was standing on. He leaned against the banister, raising an eyebrow at me.
“Hey shortcake,” he whispered teasingly. “Sleep well?”
I gritted my teeth. “You are so beyond dead right now, Hiccup.”
He chuckled. “Hey. Blame Toothless, alright? There was nothing I could do!”
I wanted to roll my eyes. “Um, okay. And he’s your dragon.”
“That doesn’t mean I can control him!”
I didn’t answer, my gaze sliding away from Hiccup. I sighed, laid my palm on the cold wood banister. “I don’t ever want you to talk to me again, okay? I don’t want to see you; I don’t want to hear you. I don’t even want to know you exist.”
I felt a glistening tear streak its way down my cheek, dripping off the bottom of my chin. “Just—“ My voice broke. “Just leave me alone.”
I turned, and ran out of the house, leaving his door wide open. I headed for the only place I could think of; the woods.
I didn’t stop running until I was deep in the forest, surrounded by unfamiliar trees. I dropped to my knees in the dirt, buried my face in my hands and cried.
Hours later, I slowly rose to my feet. It was growing steadily dark, and the cold was seeping into my bone. I shivered, and wrapped my arms around myself as I walked around in a small circle.
I realised, horrified, that I was completely lost. I had no idea whatsoever where I was, which direction the village was, or what time of day it even was right now.
I eventually sat down on a rock, pulling my knees up to my chest. The darkness was growing. Soon, I didn’t think I would be able to see a thing. I began to get worried.
Who knew what things might be hiding in the shadows? My hand instinctively went to my belt, my my knife was gone. I cursed under my breath, and stood, pressing my back against a tree. I figured it would be safer than sitting on an exposed rock.
I shivered, wrapping my arms tighter around myself, my eyes turning towards the sky, hoping, for some insane reason, that someone might be out there looking for me.
Who was I kidding? Who was there that even cared about me that much? I didn’t have parents who were waiting back at home, wondering how late I was going to stay out. I didn’t have siblings who would notice my absence.
Astrid wouldn’t notice this late at night. I tended to wander during the day; she was used to that, but at night it wouldn’t even occur to her that I was anywhere but home.
Hiccup briefly crossed my mind, but I truly did not think he cared about me that much. I didn’t even want him to. I was still so mad at Hiccup, thinking about him made it hard to breathe. I hated him.
“I hate Hiccup Haddock,” I whispered under my breath, trying to make myself feel better. My breath made a wisp of steam in the cold air. I watched it as it floated into nothingness.
My vision suddenly blurred, but I couldn’t tell if it was because of exhaustion or tears. I slumped down to the ground, my legs giving way. I drew my knees close to my chest, hugging them to me. My chin rested on my knees, gazing out at the woods, though I could barely make out anything anymore. I couldn’t even see my own hand clearly, let alone anything else.
I’m not sure how long I sat there, but eventually, I slipped into a deep sleep, half-frozen, chilled to the bone, alone and crying in the darkness.
“Y/n! Y/n? Y/n/n?!”
My eyes fluttered open. I groaned in pain. I felt someone’s arms encircling me, carrying me, but I couldn’t make out anything. Everything was blurred, hazy. The person carrying me was talking, but it sounded far away and watery.
I slumped against the person’s shoulder, closing my eyes. I was tired: so, so tired. Everything ached; my head pounded and throbbed.
I don’t think I feel back asleep, but I wasn’t really aware of anything for a long while. Finally, the person slowed to a walk, and laid me down on a couch or a bed or something. A cup was held to my lips, and I gratefully accepted the water.
I blinked several times, and my eyes focused on a very familiar looking boy, who’s green eyes were staring down at me, full of concern.
“Hiccup?” I asked weakly. “What are you…?”
“I found you in the middle of the woods,” Hiccup replied, his eyes darkening slightly. “Are you okay? Do you need anything else? More water? Are-are you warm enough?”
I laid my head back, rubbing my thumb against my throbbing temple. I let out a long sigh, whether it was of annoyance or exhaustion or pain, I wasn’t sure.
“I hate you so much,” I muttered.
“Gee, thanks,” Hiccup answered. He held the back of his hand against my forehead, testing my temperature. “You don’t seem to be too sick. I think you’re going to be okay,” he said, almost to himself.
“I’m not sick at all,” I said firmly. “I don’t even know why you’re taking care of me. I don’t need you. You—“ My voice suddenly broke with emotion. “You did this to me.”
Hiccup’s eyes filled with sorrow. “Look, Y/n/n—“
“Don’t call me that,” I snapped.
He blinked. “Y/n. I-I am so sorry for what happened yesterday. I, well, I thought it might make it better if you saw that dragons aren’t always vicious. Um…” He glanced down, rubbing the back of his neck. “Toothless didn’t really get the memo.”
He looked at me. “I’m really sorry, Y/n. And I hope that maybe someday you can find it in you to forgive me.” He stood, brushed off his pants, and left, closing the door gently behind him.
I lay there for a while, staring up at the ceiling. I hadn’t noticed it at first, but Hiccup had brought me home. I was in my bed, in my house. I could hear small noises from downstairs, which meant that Hiccup was still here. I wasn’t sure what he was doing down there, but I didn’t really care.
What I cared about right now was what he’d said. And what it had made happen inside of me. Was I really as mad at him as I thought I was? After all, he’d gone out and found me, brought me home, taken care of me. Maybe he’d been trying to be nice, and it really was Toothless who had been doing all those things to me. (Which just proved all my theories that dragons weren’t to be trusted).
I thought again of Hiccup’s eyes staring down at me, his sad voice asking me for forgiveness. The worry in his expression when he asked if I was okay. I hated how much I’d liked that. I hadn’t ever been in love, or even had a crush on anyone. I wasn’t sure if this even was a crush, but if it was, I didn’t like it.
I didn’t like the swirling in my stomach when I heard Hiccup’s voice. I hated how much I suddenly wanted him near me. I disliked how I kind of trusted him. I didn’t want to be in love. I didn’t want to have somebody I believed in again.
Last time I’d loved someone, trusted someone, all they’d done was break my heart and leave me forever. My parents. I wondered if part of my hatred inside was because I’d never truly forgiven them for leaving. For dying and not coming back for me like they’d sworn they would. I blinked back tears, brushing my cheeks with the back of my hand.
I swung my legs out of the bed, standing. I swayed a bit at first, but I forced myself to be steady. I yanked on my boots and slowly pushed open my bedroom door. I stepped out onto the landing, peeping over the edge of the banisters.
Hiccup was down in the kitchen. I was shocked at how much cleaner everything looked. I barely ever tidied up. Not that things got particularly dirty, as I spent little time here, but dust had certainly stocked up over the years. Hiccup had scrubbed away the five years of dirt from my home, and it was sparkling.
Something smelled good, too. It hit me like a brick wall that the fire was going, and Hiccup was cooking something over it. It looked like soup or something similar. I hadn’t had a home cooked meal for ages. I hated cooking, so I just lived on things I grew in the garden, or tidbits from friends.
I shifted slightly, and a floorboard underneath me creaked. Hiccup glanced up, and when he saw me, a slight smile flickered across his face. “Hey,” he said.
“Hey,” I said back, not sure what else to say. I mean, I’d just yelled at him, and made it pretty clear I didn’t ever want to talk to him again. What do you say to someone who’s just cleaned your entire house and taken care of you after you told them that? “What are you making?”
Hiccup glanced down at the pot he was stirring, then back up at me. “Chicken and potato soup. Want some?”
I hesitated, but nodded, with a small shrug. “Why not.” I slowly walked down the stairs, my eyes on Hiccup the whole time. I couldn’t seem to tear my eyes away from him.
He noticed me staring and smiled nervously. “What? Am I in trouble?”
I found myself slowly shaking my head. “No, I don’t think so.” I allowed myself a small, watery smile. “At least not yet.”
Hiccup grinned. “Good. Now sit down and eat.”
I obeyed, setting myself down at the old dining table. I wiped my palm on the wood, expecting it to be coated it dirt, but it shone with new cleanliness. My eyes suddenly filled with tears.
“Hiccup…” was all I could manage.
Immediately, Hiccup knelt in front of me. “What’s wrong?” he asked, almost urgently, staring up into my eyes. “Are you alright?”
I swallowed. “You-you cleaned the house… you’re cooking… I- you…” I let out a broken sob.
For so long, so one had cared. Astrid cared the most, but she was busy with Stormfly and her new baby brother and life in general. She’d offered a few times to have me stay with her and her family, but I’d known that would be far too hard for them. I’d always politely told her I was just fine on my own, thank you. But I wasn’t. I knew that. I needed someone to care so badly that now that someone did, someone cared, it almost hurt.
“Hey, hey,” Hiccup said softly, grabbing me by the shoulders. I realised I was shaking.
“It’s alright,” he assured me. “Come here.” He brought me into a hug, which at first both startled and scared me, but then I melted into it. The hug felt unfamiliar, different, awkward. But nice, somehow.
But this was Hiccup. I untangled myself from him. “Uh,” I stammered, tucking my hair behind my ear, eyes flitting away. “Thanks.”
Hiccup shrugged. “It’s fine.” He stood slowly. “Are you sure you’re okay?”
I nodded. “Yes. I mean, no. I-I guess? I’m not sure…” I stared up at him. “Hiccup, why are you doing this?”
His eyes narrowed slightly. “What do you mean?” He gestured around. “You needed help. You need help. I am the son of the chief; soon to be the chief myself. It’s my job to help the village.”
Something inside me wilted a little. So this was just part of the job to him? The rest of me internally yelled at that bit to shut up, and that we hated Hiccup, so it doesn’t matter what he does. But why did I hate Hiccup?
Thinking back on it now, I really didn’t think he had ever done anything truly bad towards me. Yeah, sure, he’d been a total tease, but I was a rude, bitter, secluded brat to be honest. I didn’t deserve any help from him.
I blinked back unwanted tears. “Um, well, I really appreciate it,” I said. “It was really nice of you to come looking for me.”
Hiccup studied my face for a moment, then pursed his lips and nodded once. “It’s okay, Y/n/n.”
Something inside me jolted. No one had called me that in years before today, when Hiccup had started to. It was the nickname my father had given me. Hearing Hiccup use it had just opened up a deep wound inside me I hadn’t even remembered.
“Please don’t call me that,” I whispered, staring at the floorboards. My feet hung limply in the air just above the floor.
Hiccup glanced over at me from where he was standing, stirring the soup. “Um, okay. Sorry, Y/n.” He stressed my name, saying it slightly slower than the rest of his words.
There was so much tension in the air, and I realised it was all my fault. I made the room awkward and made Hiccup have to watch everything he said. I was a terrible person.
I’d even told Hiccup never to talk to me again, right after I’d woken up in his house. It hit me that he must’ve taken me there after the awful flight on Toothless. Then, I’d screamed in his face that I hated him, and gotten myself lost in the woods because I was selfish and prideful and full of hate.
Even then, Hiccup had gone out and found me. Who knew how long that had taken him? He’d brought me back here, cleaned my house, made me food, and for what? For me to be snappy, harsh, and rude.
I ran my tongue over my lower lip, staring resolutely at the floor. “Hiccup?” I managed finally.
“Yeah?”
“Why are you doing this?” I looked at him, leaning forward with my elbows on my knees. “Be honest.”
Hiccup hesitated, stirring the wooden spoon listlessly around the soup. “What do you mean?” he said finally.
I sighed, sitting up straight and brushing off my skirts. “You know… helping me.” I have a little laugh. “Heavens knows you don’t need to. So why are you really doing all this?”
Hiccup chewed his lip. “Because I’m going to be the Chief of Berk pretty soon. I need to be able to protect my people.” His gaze fixed on mine. “Even when they don’t like me, or want me to.”
Under his fierce eyes, my insides crinkled. I felt exposed, as if I was being examined under a bright light. I dropped my gaze.
“I’m sorry…” I managed, the words sounding funny in my mouth. I hadn’t apologised to Hiccup, for anything, ever.
“It’s okay.” His voice sounded surprisingly even, like he wasn’t even bothered about all this. So it was just me feeling all these things, was it? He was truly just doing this out of a sense of duty. And honestly, why shouldn’t he? I’d already told myself I was a rude little brat, to be totally honest. I didn’t deserve to have people look after me, at all.
I didn’t meet Hiccup’s eyes. “Um, that’s cool. But thank you, really.”
Hiccup nodded, and handed me a steaming mug of hot soup. “Eat up,” he said. “I’ll leave you the rest… have a good night, Y/n.”
And with that, he disappeared. The house felt suddenly very small and lonely, and I shrunk into myself, staring into the fire, sipping tiny bits of soup until I was all warmed up inside.
I gazed around the cabin. It looked so different, all shining and clean. It made me feel like maybe I might be able to move on; get over them leaving me. I shook my head. That would never happen. I didn’t think I was capable of letting it go, of moving forward with my life. I was seventeen years old, and I still held a grudge against my parents for ‘abandoning’ me when I was twelve.
Thoughts whirled through my brain, at an almost dizzying rate. I left my mug on the table, and went to stand by the open window, facing out into the main road of Berk.
A few children were playing in it, kicking a round wooden ball to each other. I watched them for a minute or two, before an absurd idea struck me. I pushed open the front door. “Hey!” I yelled.
The kids turned to look at me, momentarily forgetting their game. “Can I join you guys?” I asked, feeling brave.
The oldest girl looked confused for a moment, then after a brief pause, gave me a smile and a nod. “Sure!” she called.
I grinned, and shut my door behind me, jogging over to them. Playing ball was something I hadn’t done in years, but it felt good to just relax for a while. Plus, it was amazing to see others doing an activity that didn’t revolve around dragons, so I could join in.
Dragons. I shuddered a little, remembering the awful ride on Toothless, and making my feelings around Hiccup even more complicated.
After a good long play, I collapsed to the ground in a heap, blowing up my breath. “Gosh,” I managed. “I can see why kids like playing ball. It’s fun.” I offered the girl who’d let me come play with them a small smile.
“You’re Y/n, aren’t you?” the girl asked, her eyes narrowing slightly.
I hesitated. How did they know who I was? I never really talked to anyone except Astrid, Hiccup and a few other people. Certainly not the children.
“Yeah, I am,” I said slowly. “How do you know my name?”
The little girl allowed herself a smug smile. “Hiccup told us about you.” Turning, she threw the ball to one of her friends.
I was dumbfounded. “Hiccup?”
The girl nodded. “Yeah. He told us you guys used to be friends but now you’re mean to him and won’t let him be nice to you anymore. He said he misses being your friend.”
I wrinkled my nose, staring at her. “Hiccup said he misses me?” I scoffed finally. “There’s no way. You must have heard him wrong. Hiccup hurt me incredibly badly when we were six years old, and ever since then he’s teased and bothered me almost to death. I will never be his friend again.”
I stood, suddenly angry all over again. Angry about how hurt I was, how much I hated Hiccup and my parents for hurting me. I clenched my teeth. “Thank you for letting me join you. Bye.”
I turned and began the walk uphill to Astrid’s house. Right now, I really needed to see my best friend.
When Astrid opened the door, she immediately noticed something was wrong. She frowned. “Are you alright?”
I shook my head. “Everything is so hopeless, A.”
Astrid made a sympathetic face and pulled me into a tight embrace. “It’s okay,” she whispered into my shoulder. “Come on, come inside. It’s freezing.”
Maybe it was. I felt so numb I didn’t think I would’ve noticed even if it was cold enough to give me frostbite. I felt like my insides were frozen, unable to feel anything at all.
Astrid pulled me inside, sitting me down on a chair beside the roaring fire. She knelt down in front of me. “What happened?” she asked, staring into my face.
I shook my head, looking away from her. “I… I don’t even know…” I began to cry, dropping my head in my hands.
Astrid pursed her lips, hugging me again. “Is it your parents? Hiccup? Tell me.”
I took a deep breath, and slowly began to tell her the entire story, beginning yesterday, when Hiccup took me into the woods and the whole, horrible ride on Toothless began. I kept my eyes steadily fixed on the fire as I spoke, quietly recounting the flight, the fight, being lost in the woods and then Hiccup rescuing me and cleaning my house. I even told her about the awkward hug.
The only thing I couldn’t manage to admit to Astrid was how I felt about Hiccup. I couldn’t decide if I hated his guts, or if I wanted nothing more than to be in his arms again.
When I was finished, Astrid let out a long sigh. “I’m sorry, babe,” she said. “But if you ask me… Hiccup wasn’t at fault for what Toothless was doing during that flight. I think he might be telling you the truth; that he just wanted you to see that dragons aren’t dangerous.”
I nodded slowly. I was beginning to believe that. Of course, that just made me hate dragons even more, but there was no point saying that aloud. Astrid knew I hated dragons even more than I hated Hiccup. I would never, ever trust a dragon.
Astrid studied me. “Do you want to know what else I think?”
I glanced at her. “By the look on your face, no. But I guess you’re going to tell me anyway, so… sure.”
Astrid suppressed a smile. “You know me too well,” she said. “But, what I think is, you don’t hate Hiccup at all. You’re just angry. At your parents mostly. But Hiccup hurt you too, years ago. You’re alone now, so you’re taking out your anger on the only person you have any sort of justification to do so to.”
I was silent. Sadly, her words rang hard and true. I could finally see that, yes, my hatred of Hiccup was really just anger at myself, and my parents. It had honestly nothing to do with Hiccup himself. He’d just been unfortunate enough to annoy me all those years ago, so now I’d decided to hate him because of it.
I shook my head in disbelief. “I’ve been so stupid,” I muttered.
“Not stupid,” Astrid said. “Kinda crazy, maybe, but not stupid.”
I looked at her. “I think… I think I should go and apologize to someone.”
She smiled. “Go.”
I jumped to my feet and ran, leaving her front door swinging open in the wind.
I didn’t stop running until I reached Hiccup’s house. I burst inside without thinking about knocking, but stopped short on the threshold.
“Stoick!” I gaped, trying to find the right words. “I, I am so sorry—“
“Y/n,” Stoick replied, getting to his feet. “What brings you here in such a hurry?” His eyes narrowed. “Are you alright?”
I nodded breathlessly. “What? Yes. Yes, I’m fine, thanks, I just —“
“Were you looking for Hiccup?”
I pursed my lips. “I might’ve been.”
Stoick chuckled. “You’ve got spirit, lass. I like that about you.”
I blinked. “Um, thank you?”
“He’s at the beach.”
I smiled. “Thank you, Chief.”
The path that ran towards the beach was thin and steep, covered in loose rocks that skidded under my shoes. More than once I almost fell off the cliff side.
When I reached the beach, I was surprised at how small it seemed. Then again, I hadn’t been here since I was little. I guess my memories of it had faded. With a start, I realised that the last time I had been here was probably with Hiccup himself, back when we were small and best friends.
I spotted Hiccup’s figure walking through the surf a few hundred meters away. I started toward him, slowly in case I scared him with a sudden approach.
The beach itself was small and rocky, round black stones instead of proper sand. The waves here were little and inconsistent, barely making a splash. Sometimes in the summer, we would have a day or two of good weather, and the waves would be bigger, but that was a pretty rare occurrence.
I reached Hiccup, who was now standing with his hands buried in his pockets, his eyes fixed on the horizon.
“What do you see?” I whispered.
“Freedom,” he replied softly, turning to look at me. “When I’m riding Toothless, nothing is impossible. Me, a human, can fly on the back of a dragon. There is something magical about that, Y/n.”
I chewed my lip, considering his words. I guess there was something amazing about that fact, but still… dragons.
“Um,” I said. “I came here to apologise.”
Hiccup’s green eyes turned a darker shade. “For what?”
I dug the side of my shoe in the sand, my eyes sliding away from his. “For… everything.”
He waited, his eyes roaming my face.
I swallowed. “For not being your friend when I should have been. For hating you and your love for dragons. For being a terrible person. For hitting you and hating you and making your life miserable.” During this little speech, my voice had gotten higher and louder. Now it broke, and I felt tears brimming to my eyes. “I’m so sorry, Hiccup,” I cried.
Hiccup didn’t say anything. He stared at me for a count of five, while tears began to stream down my cheeks. What was wrong with me this week? For years, I’d barely cried at all, hiding my emotions inside. Now I was crying, again.
Hiccup did something I didn’t expect. He grabbed my face between his hands. They were tougher than I would’ve thought, calloused and hard from working with metals and wood and materials. He stared into my eyes for long enough for my tears to stop flowing. “Y/n,” he said. “It’s okay. You were forgiven years ago.”
He pulled me into a tight embrace. A week ago, I would’ve fought and hit and yelled at him, but now? I melted into Hiccup’s body, burying my face in his chest and wrapping my arms tightly around him, letting my tears flow freely.
For the first time since my parents died, I felt at peace.
For the next three weeks, I tried my hardest to start a routine. To start cleaning my house, cooking meals every day, and (the hardest part of all), going out and talking to someone each and every morning.
Sometimes I just talked to Astrid, when it got bad and I truly couldn’t get enough emotion energy to talk to anyone else. But sometimes I managed. I talked to the kids playing in the streets, to the other girls I never really talked to before, to the guys helping out in the dragon-saddle-making workshop.
But mostly, I talked to Hiccup. I talked to him as if we’d never stopped being friends, as if we were six years old again. It honestly surprised me how easy it was to get along with him now that I didn’t have an eternal grudge against him. Hiccup was still the same person he’d always been. It was me who had changed.
I made an effort to even start working. I’d never done anything like it before, really, but it was honestly alright. I had a few shifts at the dragon workshop a week, and it was kind of fun after a while. Yeah, sure, I still got terrified when someone actually brought their dragon to the shop, but for the most part it was good.
Hiccup worked there sometimes as well, and so did Stoick. Astrid didn’t, because she was a dragon trainer and didn’t really have the time. I would’ve liked it if we were able to work together, but there was no way I would be able to train dragons. At all.
But, you know, life was pretty alright. I still had scars, deep and hidden and probably incurable, but I also had friends. And hope. And maybe, just maybe, a future.
I woke up screaming. My bedsheets were clutched tight in my fists, a tangled mess around my legs. Hot tears were still rolling down my cheeks, and my chest heaved, as if I’d just run the length of the island in my sleep.
I tried to swallow, tried to even out my breathing. My mouth was so dry I could barely swallow properly. I reached for the glass of water that I always had beside my bed, and gulped it down.
I could still evision the awful images from my dreams. Hiccup, Astrid, my parents, all trapped in a circle of flaming dragons. They were screaming for me, calling my name. I couldn’t move, my legs seemingly stuck to the ground. I could do nothing but watch as the dragons slowly spread over the bodies of my loved ones, devouring them. I sank to my knees, screaming in agony.
I shivered, climbing out from under the sheets. I needed to get out of this empty house. I didn’t care if it was the middle of the night, I had to see someone.
I hurried down the stairs, bursting out into the night. Stars glittered in the sky, the night quiet and bright. The cold wind hit me like a wall, and I shuddered. I hadn’t thought of grabbing my jacket.
My feet moved faster than my mind, taking me somewhere that I didn’t even know I wanted to be. I slipped inside Hiccup’s house, tiptoeing to where I knew his room was.
Outside his door, I finally realised what I was doing. Sneaking into Hiccup’s room in the dead of night? What was I thinking? Was I crazy?
Maybe I am, I thought, slowly pushing open Hiccup’s door. I stood still on his doorway for a moment, before quietly slipping over to the side of his bed.
“Hiccup?” I breathed, almost soundlessly.
“Y/n?” Hiccup was instantly awake, sitting up in his bed. “What are you…? Why are you here? Are you okay?” His voice was hoarse from sleep, and he squinted at me.
I hesitated. What was I supposed to say? Oh, I just had a dream about you dying and it terrified me so I’m here to make sure you’re still alive? Of course I wasn’t going to say that.
“I had a nightmare.” I bit my lip, shifting from foot to foot. Maybe this hadn’t been such a good idea.
Hiccup’s dark eyes gazed into mine. He leaned back slightly, so he could see me more clearly. “Why did you come to me?” he asked quietly, his voice ragged and raspy.
I dropped my gaze. “You were the only one I thought of coming to,” I whispered. “I knew you wouldn’t mind.”
“Of course I wouldn’t mind,” Hiccup said. “Do… do you want to stay here? Or do you want me to walk you back to your house?”
I hesitated. “Could I please just stay here, with you?” I met his eyes for a brief second.
He smiled. “Anything for you.” He said it so flippantly, I might’ve missed it any other time. But my brains snagged on the words, turning them over and over in my mind. Anything for you…
“Thank you, Hiccup,” I whispered. We were both silent for a while. “Can I… can I stay with you until morning?” I asked.
Hiccup stared at me, then nodded. I slowly crawled onto his bed, leaning against the bed-head. Hiccup glanced at me, then lay back down on his pillow. After a moment, I snuggled down next to him, hyper aware of every part of my body under the sheets.
We were nose to nose. I could feel his hot breath on my face. His green eyes glittered in the darkness.
“Goodnight y/n,” he whispered groggily. “I hope you don’t have any more nightmares.” With that, he closed his eyes, and I heard no more from him.

talking in your sleep pt. 2 || logan howlett x gn!reader
pt. 1 here for anyone who wants to read
A/N: AAAAA HELLO EVERYONE! this fic - and "taste" - brought so many new and amazing readers. thank you all for your amazing support and kind words. i really appreciate it. i stopped writing fanfics almost 10 years ago, so to hear that you all like my (very rusty) writing makes me so happy. thank you all, so very much. here is part 2 for "talking in your sleep", as was voted on by all of you!
tags: SMUT MDNI PLEASE read at your own risk from here forward, logan howlett x gender neutral reader, no mentions of reader's anatomy or appearance, swearing, dry humping/grinding (because i wanted no specific mentions of reader's anatomy), logan lowkey likes pain but we knew this lmao, not super proofread just was excited to write this but also i'm not great at writing smut apologies okay i hope you enjoy bye
“Good morning, how did you sleep?” You were at a loss for words, completely taken aback by the situation. Logan smiled, “Did you have any nice dreams?” With those words, heat was rushing from your chest and rising into your neck and face. He had you caught.
“Were you listening to me, you fucking animal,” you spoke bitterly, trying desperately to mask your embarrassment. You couldn’t escape the situation, even if you tried. Logan hung onto your doorframe, trapping you between him and your bedroom. He wore that cocky smile and you cursed yourself realizing how handsome he looked with it on.
“I can’t help my good hearing. You start talking in your sleep and I get curious.” He had you on the spot, looking and acting like he had you all figured out. “I’ve been looking for an excuse to talk to you, but you only call for me when you’re sleeping, now why’s that?”
I’ve been looking for an excuse to talk to you. You thought you were going to fall flat on your ass. You were done for in that moment, grabbing Logan by his shirt collar and kissing him with heated passion. His eyes widened in shock, before he rested his hands around your ribcage and leaned into the kiss, pushing you into your bedroom and kicking the door closed behind him. He moved his hands to the back side of your thighs, hoisting you up around his waist and resting your legs on his hips. He pressed your back against the wall, and that cocky smile painted itself on his lips again.
“You’re a smug motherfucker, you know that?” You chuckled, “Makes you hard to talk to.”
“Me? Never,” Logan husked back, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. He peeled you away from the wall, pulling you over to your bed and sitting down with you straddling his lap. He pressed another kiss to your mouth while his hands ran up and down your back gently. “You’ve had my eye for a while, but you wouldn’t let me talk to you.”
“I was just… nervous, is all.” You won’t meet his eyes, even though you so badly want to.
“More like stubborn. Had me thinkin’ you really didn’t like me,” Logan smiled, rubbing your hips gently. “You wanna tell me what your dream was about now?” Your whole body felt like it was on fire, making you shift slightly against Logan’s lap.
“Something… like this, actually.”
Logan hung on your every word, he needed to hear the words from you. He was so lost in the fact that he had you here, now, that he didn’t realize how tight his jeans were starting to feel. You, on the other hand, could feel the sudden hardness between your thighs, making it even harder to get your words out. You felt dizzy, realizing what was happening - Logan Howlett had carried you into your room, kissed you, and now was getting hard under your lap. It was everything you had dreamed of. You shifted again, trying to get a better angle to feel as much of him as you could. As you did, Logan himself suddenly became aware of what you were doing and realized how fucking turned on he was that you were doing it. His fingers dug into your hips, not hard enough to leave any bruising, but hard enough that it made you gasp. He pressed gentle kisses and bites to the sides of your neck, breathing you in in your entirety. He moved your hips against his own, desperate to just feel you. He didn’t realize that he was starving for more than your attention, but your affection as well. The heat building between you both was almost unbearable, but the tension was so delicious at the same time. Logan’s kisses were all lips, teeth, and tongue, and it drove you crazy. You dragged your nails down his back, earning a groan from him as well as a long, drawn out roll of his hips. You both moaned as your bodies pressed together, both of you chasing a climax, both of you still completely clothed. You both pulled at each other’s clothing without taking anything off, too lost in the heat of the moment.
Logan grabbed your body tightly and rolled on top of you, pulling away both of your pairs of jeans but leaving your underwear, and his, on. He wanted to pull away every layer and ravage you, but something about the confines of your clothing made everything about the moment all the more sexy to him. He began to grind down into your hips now, his cock pressing hard between your thighs. Even if he wasn’t inside you, you could feel how big he was against you, and it made your insides tighten. You kicked your jeans the rest of the way off of your legs, before wrapping your legs around his hips, pulling him closer, and closer… closer…
Soon you were coming undone beneath him, clawing at Logan’s back and an endless stream of moans and curses spilling from your mouth. Your thighs tight around his body as you rode out your orgasm, your underwear becoming ruined in the process. Logan’s own orgasm followed soon after, his moans muffled by your lips, and his hips stuttering against yours, before they stilled. You felt the warmth of his seed leaking from the fabric of his boxers as it began to seep into your own. You looked at Logan, as he panted and gripped the sheets underneath you. He looked at you with hazy eyes and a satisfied smile. He was everything you had dreamed of, everything you had desired, and he hadn’t even properly fucked you yet.
================================================

“Order to go for Y/N!” the server behind the counter called, placing a bag of food onto it. “That’s me!” you called, moving forward to grab the brown bag, thanking the server. you exited the Butchery On Main and got into your little silver car, carefully placing the food on the floor of the passenger side. the stars in the night sky winked at you as you looked up at them through the windshield. you whipped out your phone, dialing your boyfriends number. you balance you phone on you thigh as you start the car. the sound of the phone ringing filled the silence as you drove to kais house. After a few more rings, he picks up. “hey baby, i picked up some food from ally’s restaurant for you.” you said in a cheery voice, “okay.” kai said, a roughness to his voice that wasnt there a few days ago. as you stopped at a red light, you asked, “kai? are you okay? you sound-” you were cut off by kai hanging up. frowning, you turned the radio on. it wasnt unusual for kai to hang up on you without saying bye, but it still slightly surprised you every time.
you pull into the andersons driveway, quietly humming to yourself as you take the key out of the ignition, shutting the radio and lights off. you grab the bag and open the car door, walking to the front door. after you let yourself in, you check the kitchen and dining room for kai. you stood in the dining room, sighing as you set the food down. kai wasnt there, he was probably in the basement though.
“kai?” you called out as you made your way down the narrow steps of the basement staircase. “in here,” you heard kai call back, his voice still rough. at the bottom of the staircase, you saw kai slouched against the couch, arms by his side, head thrown back and eyes looking up at the ceiling. you made your way over to him, plonking down next to him. he didnt look at you, not even when you put a hand on his thigh. “are you okay?” you ask. kai was never not doing something. he lifted his head to face you, his eyes furrowing. he looked terrible; violet and black hues under his dark eyes. when he didnt respond, you asked again, “kai, are you okay?”. His eyebrows furrowed further.
“do these dark circles under my eyes say nothing to you about how im doing?”
you bite your lip, as you remove your hand from his thigh and loop your fingers through his own, looking down. “im going to assume you havent had dinner?” you hesitated, to which kai nodded. “Okay, the foods upstairs, want me to bring it down?”
Kai slightly frowned and shook his head. “soo do you wanna go upstairs with me then?” you gestured to the stairs. “no.” kai huffed. “so what then?” you mused, finding his slight difficultness amusing. “im not hungry, Bunny.” the blue-haired man sighed, turning his head to face the other way.
“what? kai, you need to eat something.”
“but im not hungry,”
“i dont care, kai”
“whatever, im too tired to eat anyways.”
“well you need to eat something before you sleep.”
“no i dont.”
“fine, let me bring you to your room at least.”
you stood up, your hand still holding his. with a sigh of defeat, he heaved himself up, his posture noticeably sluggish. you led him up the stairs and to his room, easing the door open before almost dragging him inside. you hadnt bothered to turn on the light, and as soon as he reached the closest side of the bed, he climbed into it, groaning sleepily. when he found a comfy position to lay in, you kissed him on the cheek before exiting. just as you made it to the door, you heard kai say something in a muffled voice. “hm?” you turned around to face his bed. “come here. i cant sleep.” you sighed, walking back over to his side. you crouched down so you could view his face, though it was no use due to the lack of light. “You havent even tried,” you giggled. kai moved over to the other side of the bed, dragging you with him. “kai!” you laugh, trying to pull away from his arms trapping you to his chest. “sleep here tonight. please?” he mumbles, drowsiness making his words slur a bit. “but-” you start to protest, “its like you dont even love me,” kai teases, pouting in exaggeration. "i cant sleep without you. i need my personal body heater and cuddles." he says softly. defeated, you drape your arms around his waist. “fine.” you mumble back, looking up, your heart warming when you find him already looking into yours. “i love you. you enormously stubborn pain in the ass.” you tell him. kai hums back contently, closing his eyes. he pulls you impossibly closer, kissing the top of your head before slowly drifting into a well-needed slumber.

Ft; Scaramouche, Kazuha, Heizou, Xiao
:info: Fluffy stuff [cute] // GN reader // mentions of pills // Sick person in Scaramouches // angst in Xiaos // VERY Sick reader in Xiaos // blood
Scaramouche
-- MODERN
"Scaramouche I'm home." You called out.
Usually when you would come home, your roommate Scaramouche would be screaming at the top of his lungs, or something else. The reason for that is because your roommate is actually a streamer. But today was awfully quiet.
"Scaramouche?"
You just got back from your sleepover at Ganyu's house.
You put down your bag and went upstairs.
"Scaramouche are you sleeping?"
You went to his bedroom.
You opened the door slightly to Scaramouche being bundled up in blankets while talking.
"Yeah no, I'm not playing that horror game again."
"You alright Scara? Youre looking pale and youre literally sweating lmao" a robotic man's voice came from his computer.
"I woke up with a fever and I'm not gonna play those stupid little games today, just here to talk until my roommate gets home."
"Scaramouche?"
You noticed Scaramouche get scared by your voice.
"You alright?"
Scaramouche sneezed.
"You think?"
"Alright time to turn off that stream and rest it's not good for you, you know?"
"You aren't my mom, ____."
"Yeah yeah yeah whatever. I'll take care of you."
"Kay' bye stream." Scaramouche said.
He turned off the computer and he went to his bed.
"Let me take your temperature Scara."
"I can do it on my own.." he mumbled.
"Whatever you say."
Scaramouche took his temperature and showed you.
"39.7?!" You almost screamed.
"You're hurting my ears."
"Yeah yeah whatever lie down hold up!"
You rushed out the room and you came back with a bowl of water and a towel.
You put the towel in the water and squeezed the extra water out then put it on his forehead.
"Don't get up, I'll get medicine."
You left the room.
You remembered Ganyu's little sister, Qiqi gave you some medicine before you had left.
You took your bag and took the medicine and got a water bottle.
"Scaramouche?"
"What?"
"Okay, just making sure you don't die on me."
"I'm not gonna die you dumbo."
"Yeah but I'm worried!"
"Whatever."
You placed the pills on Scaramouches bed desk and you pulled up a chair.
"Get up Scaramouche, lemme give you some medicine."
"Kay'."
Scaramouche sat up as you gave him 2 pills.
"I don't think this stuff is bitter nor is it sweet, so I think it'll just taste like nothing. If you need water it's right here." And you knew damn well he couldn't even open a water bottle even though you were physically weaker than him.
You opened the water bottle for in just in case as he ate the medicine.
You handed Scaramouche the water bottle as he washed it down.
"Feel a little better?"
"Eh."
"I'll go now text me if you need anythin—" You got up but you felt a tight grip around you wrist.
"Don't go."
"Huh?"
Scaramouches expression was almost vulnerable.
You smiled.
"Okay, I'll stay for a bit."
You sat back down as Scaramouche softened his grip and he fell asleep.
You stared at him as his towel was getting warm, so you soaked it again.
You placed it on his forehead and you got on the floor as you rested your head on his bed.
"I wish time could stay like this for a little longer." A smile painted your face.
You closed your eyes as your drifted off to sleep.
During the sleep, you and Scaramouche intertwined hands together as you both shared the warmth of each other.
Kazuha
-- TEVYAT
Kazuha, Your boyfriend had his head on your lap as you pet his head.
Kazuha had quiet snores as you smiled lightly at the thought of him.
It was a tiring day for him especially because he had to go to the crux, then went traveling with the traveller.
'Oh shoot, I hadn't made dinner yet!'
You got up very quietly as you set his head on the couch replacing your spot with a pillow.
As soon as you looked back you felt two arms around your waist.
"Kazuha I have to make dinner for the both of us."
"Forget dinner, I just wanna be with you. That is all."
Kazuha put his head on your shoulder as his hair tickled your neck and chin.
You sighed as you turned around and hugged him back.
"Cmon, I gotta make dinner I know you're like crazy hungry too!"
"No."
"Kazuha cmonnn!! Lemme go!!!"
You regretted hugging him back as he tighten his grip around you.
"Let me be with this moment, love."
You blushed at the pet name.
"I'll spend all morning in bed with you for in exchange of letting me go!"
"No."
"Then what?"
"Just let me embrace you little, love."
..
"Fine."
He hugged walked to the couch as he threw himself on it with you in his arms.
You felt warm and cozy. So you wanted to stay in that position for awhile.
Just, awhile.
Just awhile.
Kazuha cuddled you and you accepted it, that night you two slept on the couch. And for that Kazuha felt bad so he cooked dinner for the both of you instead.
Heizou
-- MODERN
"Cmon!!"
"Nooooo..."
It was morning, but a weekend. You wanted to get up and eat food but Heizou didn't want you to go.
"Heizou! I'll drop kick you just let me go!"
"Noo."
"I'm hungry so let me go!"
"I can feed you something else, wink wink." Heizou said.
"Nows not the time!"
"Hey stop kicking!" Heizou complained.
"That's what you get in return!"
Heizou made you turn around and he cupped your cheeks.
He kissed you, for a long time until you both ran out of air.
"Cmon just let me go please."
"No."
"Why not?"
"It's a weekend, so why not just spend time with your oh-so-darling Heizou would you not?"
"Just let me go pleasee.."
"No."
"I know it's a weekend– but please your suffocating me!"
"My word is finale, no."
"Ugh, fine."
"Yay!" He hugged you tightly and fell asleep.
"I wanna go on my phone..." you mumbled.
His hair tickled your neck and made you sleepy aswell. Forget that you were hungry, Heizou is more important. So you slept with Heizou for the rest of the morning.
Xiao
-- TEVYAT
"I brought your medication, ____."
"Thank you."
You sat up and took the pill-like medication and washed it down with water.
"Have you felt better these days?"
"I've been feeling the same."
"Oh, well call out my name if you need anything."
"I will, Xiao."
"Sit up, let me brush your hair."
"Okay."
Xiao helped you up as he got a hair brush and brushed your hair.
"Qiqi and Ganyu will be coming by, make sure to let them in if you have the energy too. If you don't just call my name."
"Okay." You coughed a little.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, just.. feeling a little tired."
"Lie down, let me get you some food. You mortals needs so much tch."
"You don't need to take care of me everyday you know? Qiqi and Baizhu already do."
"But they're too busy for your own good. Your weaker than a normal mortal."
When you were born, you had an illness that could be cured but yours was much worse and it was a 50/50 of your survival.
"You have no need to worry." You mumble.
"____?" No response.
Xiao looked behind him as he saw you drifting off to dreamland.
"You mortals need so much. But.." He approached you.
He removed a few strands of hair in front of your face.
"Please don't die on me."
Xiao then stood up and disappeared.
---
You opened your eyes.
"Xiao?"
"Yes?" Xiao appeared faster than a bolt of lighting.
"I feel a bit worse."
"Are you alright?" He helped you sit up as he had his hands on your shoulders.
You coughed and you covered your mouth with your two hands.
Blood came out.
"Are you alright?!"
"I feel dizzy.."
"Lie down let me get you water and your medicine." He hurriedly panicked and left the room in a haste bringing water and medicine like he had said.
"Drink this, you'll be okay I'm here."
He fed you the medicine and made you drink the water.
"Did the pain weaken a bit?"
"Mhm."
"I'll be here."
He brought you in a hug where you felt still so tired.
You brought your weak hand to hug him back.
"You're so warm, Xiao." You mumbled.
"I'll watch over you, don't worry."
Xiao set you back on the bed and made you comfortable.
Xiao heard the door knock and he left the room.
"I'll be back."
You watched him leave the room as you overheard their conversation.
"Hi Xiao! Were here to watch ____."
"Hello."
"Hey hey I came too!~"
3 people walked in.
Qiqi, xiangling, and Hu tao.
"Hello ____! How are you doing? Are you hungry? I'll make you some food!" Xiangling asked.
"I'm hungry, and thank you."
"Qiqi brought you your medicine, Baizhu said to keep a close eye on you."
"Thank you Qiqi for your herbs."
"I brought some snacks and food! Want some?" Hu tao asked.
"Sure." You smiled.
"Thanks again." You said that as you sat up.
"Bye ____! We'll see you next time!" Xiangling left as she closed the door.
"Xiao?"
"Yes?" You looked over where his voice came from and he was on the opposite end of your bed.
You looked at him as he had a dreadfully sorrowful aura around him.
You were gonna reach your hand until you felt pain everywhere in your body.
You choked and coughed.
"____! Are you okay?!"
You kept on coughing and Xiao put a towel on your mouth. He removed it after you had stopped and blood came out, a lot.
"You can't keep on pushing yourself, let me get you cleaned up." Xiao helped you get up as he brought you to the bathroom.
"Are you alright? I can stay by your side if you want."
"Xiao."
"Yes?"
"What if I were to die?"
"Don't say such idiotic stuff."
"But what if I do?" You looked at him.
His face softened.
"Enough of that, let's go to bed."
"Us?"
"..."
He carried you to your bed bridal way and set you down as he made you comfy.
"Goodnight, Xiao. Sleep well." You smiled at him.
"... goodnight, ____."
You smiled at him as you closed your eyes and drifted off to dreamland.
Morning
Xiao had slept by your side and he had awoke early to see you still sound asleep.
He left to go to the kitchen to make you something. He had told the people of wangshu inn about you and they taught him recipes for the sick, like you.
Today felt like any other day, just him taking care of you, and you waiting for him to come.
"What if I were to die?" Those words rang through his head like a nightmare.
He looked through your cabinets until you heard shuffling.
"____?"
He looked to your bedroom as he found you sitting up.
"Don't push yourself so hard, your still a weak mortal." Xiao sat beside you as he looked at the window beside your bed.
"Xiao."
"What?"
"I feel like something is wrong."
"What do you mean?"
"I feel.." He was about to look at you until you collapsed on his chest.
"You're awfully warm today, you're usually cold."
Xiao repositioned you as he saw your sweating face.
"Are you okay?"
"I knew this day would come."
"Don't say such things!"
"I knew it wouldn't last forever."
"What do you mean?!" Xiao panicked.
"Xiao."
"What?" His voice was less harsh and had softened.
"May I tell you something?"
"And what is it?"
You smiled as you lifted your hand to cup his cheek.
"I love you, Xiao."
"I.."
He hugged you.
"I love you too."
"When I die, Xiao."
"Don't say such things. You aren't going to die."
"I promise to come back for you. When I have passed on, I will come back. And I promise you."
"What is that promise?" His voice was wobbly and he tighten his hug.
"I promise you I'll know you better so I can live an entirety with you, not now though."
"When I have passed on, I wish to remember my memories with you Xiao. I want to stay with you."
"Please don't go yet, not now." Xiao begged.
"My time is not forever you know?" Xiao felt you smile.
"Please don't go." His voice was unstable and he felt like crying, you could feel that.
"I will come back for you."
"____."
"Yes, Xiao?"
"You promise you'll come back for me?"
"Yes."
"Then I'll wait, even if it costs an eternity."
"I love you, Xiao."
"I love you too." He felt your arm on his back fall down.
"____?"
No response.
He released from the hug to see you smiling.
He couldn't stop himself but he couldn't imagine him breaking down again in a life time.
He knew you were gone.
"I'll wait for an eternity for you." Xiao sobbed into your cold shoulder.
"I'll wait for an eternity, for you ____."

“Yawntu, come here.” You heard from behind you before feeling a hand settling on the back of your neck. A mouth put itself on the edge of your ear, which twitched at the contact. “Let’s ditch the others and go on a date. Just you and I.”
You turned around to see Neteyam smiling mischievously, as he squeezed your neck gently to get an answer. You could only nod with a smile back as he pulled you away.
“What about a flight, sky girl ? Ready to get beaten again ?” He asked, his hand sliding down to intertwine with yours. Your tail twitched at the contact, tapping at his hip gently.
Your...tail ?
“You okay, yawntu ?”
You tried to look at him only to see a blur. You startled awake, looking up at the same white ceiling of your small room, sweat sticking to your back and your shirt.
It had been a dream again.
You didn’t remember how long it had been already since the day the Sullys had left. A part of you had been left too, back in the forest when he turned his back on you and never looked back.
It was all your fault, you knew that. You broke your heart and his in the process. You were the only perpetrator.
You felt empty and aimless. You barely saw anyone. Norm and Max forced you to work with them, forced you in conversations, forced you to even eat.
Norm was once again coming in to put breakfast on the little table in your room. “He wouldn’t like to see you like this. Please, eat.”
You watched from your bed, stuck in a decision - going back to sleep or getting up. If you slept, that meant you could dream, where you were with them, with him. If you slept, that meant you didn’t feel for a few moments.
Everything had gone to shit. Your life included. You had lost them all, even Spider. Spider who was stuck with a man that had never loved him, with a man so cruel and terrible. Spider who had been your brother for so many years. You prayed to Eywa everyday that he was okay.
Everyday, you thought of the Sullys. Were they okay ? Had they found somewhere to belong ? Were they doing well in a whole another clan with different people and customs ?
(Was Tuk crying ? Was Kiri protected when she got lost in what was around her ? Was Lo’ak not getting into too much trouble ? Was Neteyam... was anyone taking care of him when he was taking care of everyone else ?)
Sometimes, Mo’at would come around and force you out. She would teach you and talk to you. You were glad for her presence, the only remaining link you had with the Na’vi and the Sullys.
You were glad for Norm and Max too.
So you woke up every morning. You went on. You took it day to day. You went back to sleep. And you started it all again, like a machine.
You would get out of your room when you felt okay to. You would see if any of the humans needed your help or if Mo’at had deemed it a day to come see you. You would go along with it. That was your routine, your way of survival.
Even if all you thought about was Neteyam. His drooping shoulders and the defeat in his body. His eyes. His smile. His voice.
So many days and weeks and months later, commotion happened in the lab, Norm in his avatar and Max running out.
You looked curiously. You decided to ask. “Hey, what’s going on ?”
Max stopped. “You should come with us, now.” He pulled on your arm, getting you towards the helicopter. “Bad situation. Jake called us over.”
You felt blood rush in your ears. What had happened that Jake needed to call them over ?
“Kiri had a seizure. He called so we could go and see what is going on. We need to go now.”
You nodded, your heart in your throat.
You barely remembered getting in a seat and buckling up. You barely remembered the flight over. All you saw was water, until there was land. Islands. Until you saw Jake motioning the helicopter down.
You went out last, after Norm and Max, lost in between the new environment and your fear for Kiri. You felt stares on you. You barely paid attention to them.
Jake was talking with them and leading them away, not even noticing you were there until he turned around when you all arrived to their little hut.
His eyes widened, before he pulled you in. “Oh, sweetheart, I didn’t see you there. Thank you for coming.”
You teared up at the hug, at his words. Great mother, how had you missed them all. “Of course. How is she doing ?” Your voice shook, as you looked up at him.
He grimaced, worry all over his face. “She’s unconscious. She had a seizure when she connected to Eywa with the kids.”
Max and Norm had both gone in to try to see what was happening, to connect to Kiri’s brain with their machine. Neytiri was beside Kiri, holding her hand. Tuk was close by too.
A beautiful pregnant Na’vi woman came in, with what seemed healing materials.
“You are Tsahik.” Neytiri hissed, before chasing everyone out. Jake, Max and Norm left to talk. (You would have laughed in any other situation. They were still all scared shitless of Neytiri. Which you understood.)
You watched as the Tsahik worked on waking Kiri up.
Please Kiri, just wake up. Be okay. Be okay. Please.
A few moments later, Kiri opened her eyes and cried as Neytiri comforted her. You sagged in relief, feeling your own tears burning your eyes.
You didn’t try to enter or barge in. You didn’t try to talk to them. You were just relieved to see them all and to see Kiri okay.
“Tsmuke ?” A small voice whispered and then a large hand fell on your arm. You looked up to see Tuk, surprise and happiness in her eyes.
“Hey, Tuk tuk.” You whispered back, your hand reaching up to ruffle her braids.
At this little moment, you heard gasps behind her. Neytiri looked at you with surprise too before a soft smile broke on her face. Kiri started crying even harder before she threw herself at you.
You choked and fell back.
“Kiri ! That fucking hurts, you skxawng !”
“Sorry, sorry.” She sniffled and still held you tight, putting you in her lap in the process. “I just missed you so much. We all did.”
The burning behind your eyes intensified until you couldn’t keep it in anymore. The tears flowed as you hugged her back.
“I missed you too. All of you. So much.” Your voice broke on the words, breaking through your real feelings for the first time in months. “It’s been hard.” A wet laugh came out of you. “But, enough about me. What happened Kiri ? Are you okay ?”
She put some distance to look into your face. “I saw my mom. She was right there. And then...” Kiri sighed, disappointed to have lost the contact. “I don’t know what happened exactly. I was ripped out of the connection and went into a seizure apparently.” She shook her head.
You couldn’t believe it. You were stuck between being happy for her (she had always wanted to talk to Grace, at least once in her life, to be in her presence) and being worried about what happened to her. How could connecting to Eywa put her in this state ?
“Hey, Kiri, I know the seizure was bad but I’m so happy you got to see Grace. How was she ? Did she say anything ?” You asked, holding her hand tight.
She went into it with sparkles and happiness in her eyes about what she looked like and how it had felt to be with her for this short simple moment. You couldn’t help but smile with love for the girl in front of you. Tuk had gotten closer to you too again in the moment, pushing her head on your shoulder (even though her head didn’t fit, not really). Neytiri was looking over the three of you, holding Kiri’s hand the whole time.
You both talked for a few minutes until Norm squeezed your shoulder. “We have to go.”
Pure sadness and pain exploded in your gut at the words. You had felt what could happiness be again for a short discussion, and now you had to leave it all behind again ? You swallowed to keep the bile in but gave a smile to Norm (which looked more like a grimace). “I’ll be there in a minute.”
You slowly got up, Kiri and Tuk following you in the process.
Tuk hugged you, whined at you leaving. “Do you really have to go ? Can’t you stay with us ?”
“I wish I could, Tuk tuk. I really wish I could.” You gently pinched her cheek. “But it’s going to be okay. You’ll come back to the forest at some point and you’ll tell me everything. I’ll be waiting.”
Kiri looked at you and you knew she didn’t believe a word you said. In truth, you didn’t know if they would ever come back and if they did, you knew it wouldn’t be soon, not with Quaritch back.
But no matter how much you wanted to stay, you couldn’t.
“I’ll see you all later, okay ?” You tried to sound strong, when you were really breaking again inside. “And don’t move Kiri ! I’ll go by myself.”
You hugged them one last time. Neytiri softly touched your head for a second and let you go. You smiled at her as much as you could, before you turned around to join Norm and Max out.
Jake hugged you as you left. “Take care.” You nodded. You didn’t look back.
The Tsahik and Olo'eyktan stood near the helicopter, ready to watch you leave. You extended your hand from your forehead downwards in greetings, bowed your head in thanks.
You both felt relieved and destroyed to not have seen Neteyam. Relieved because then you did not have to face the way he wouldn’t look at you. Destroyed because you missed him, because you needed to see him to know he was fine.
As if Eywa had heard you, the moment you stepped one foot in, the moment you slightly turned your head left, he was there. A few feet away. With Lo’ak and others from the sea clan.
He looked at you with wide eyes and you froze. Pain and love blossomed in your chest. It hurt. It hurt to love him so much. You could never stop though. You didn’t even want to.
“What’s happening ?” Max asked, before getting his head out towards Neteyam still looking at you.
Norm sighed. “You should go. Go talk to him. Here’s your chance.”
You were still frozen when Norm’s words entered your ears, but Neteyam unfroze to start moving forward towards you. You shook your head, both at Norm and Neteyam.
He stopped and you saw the words on his lips. “Sky girl”. You shook your head again and gave him a sad smile. His ears twitched down, his tail drooped. You had hurt him again.
You still couldn’t do it though. You hadn’t changed your mind. What were you supposed to say to him when you still felt like your decision was the good one, the best one for him ?
Maybe not for you. But he would understand with time. That was what you told yourself.
You went in the helicopter and watched him become smaller and smaller. You went back to your small room and thought you would just go back to your routine.
If only you had known.
You were strolling through the forest, needing time away alone, when you heard a noise behind you. You looked back, through the trees, but there was nothing.
Your feet continued moving on their own but the tension was clouding your mind. Something was happening. Your fingers closed themselves around the knife you always carried, hidden underneath your shirt.
More noise came from behind you but now also in front of you. You looked to see glimpses of blue.
Those weren’t Omaticayas. They wouldn’t hide and observe you. They knew you.
They weren’t the people you knew who had avatars.
Which only meant one thing. And you weren’t going to go without fighting.
You heard footsteps next to you. You took out the knife and turned, stabbing whoever had tried to approach you.
An unknown Na’vi in military gear gasped in pain at the knife in their side before you got the knife out. Not Na’vi. Avatar. Whatever the fuck they were now.
“You bitch !” The man said, rising his hand to strike you. You ducked under the hand as fast as you could, lessons and reflexes kicking in. You tried to stab him again but a hand wrapped itself in your hair.
It pulled and raised you up. You gasped and moaned in pain, the knife slipped from your hand to the ground. Your feet didn’t touch the ground anymore.
“Well, looks like you learned a thing or two from the Sullys, haven’t you, girlie ?” A voice said as their hand turned you to them.
You had only seen the man in human form in the archives left with the lab. You had learned disgust and hate for this man from as young as you could remember. Quaritch. You hissed at him as best as you could behind the mask.
“And you’ve also learned to be feral. I guess that’s all they’ve been teaching you human kids, huh.”
At the mention of human kids, you hissed even harder through your gasps of pain. His other hand went around your throat while the other stopped pulling on your hair. He could kill you in an instant. Break your neck and end it right there.
You did not care.
“What the fuck have you done with Spider ? You better not have touched him !” Your voice was rough and broken, angry. “Oh, do not worry about that, he’s fully okay. Look, he’s here.”
From behind him appeared Spider, looking unharmed. Relief coursed through your veins. He was okay, nothing had happened.
“Now, I’m not here for a reunion. I’m here because an helicopter left this forest to get somewhere and little Spider here let slip that you may have been on it.” The hand around your throat tightened up. “I want to know where it went, and exactly where.”
It kept tightening and tightening up. You gasped for air, your head started spinning, but you kept looking right into his eyes in defiance. You would never give up the spot. Ever.
“See, I can’t barge in the Omaticayas’s place and get to your avatar friends. We’ll get killed. But you ? You’re the way to Jake Sully. So, you have a choice. I can hurt you or you can tell me.”
The hand stopped and let air go through your lungs. You breathed in as much as you could.
You laughed lightly. “You can go fuck yourself.”
Quaritch smirked at your words and nodded. He tightened up and tightened up. You felt yourself slipping away.
You could hear Spider screaming. “Stop it ! Stop, you’re going to kill her !”
The only thing you saw behind your eyelids as you passed out was Neteyam’s face. I’m sorry.
You woke up jumping, banging your head against something in the process. “Shit !” You yelled out.
You tried to touch the top of your head with your hand, to see if you had a bump, but was stopped. A look down made you realize you had been handcuffed.
Both your hands and feet.
And you realized you were next to a hut on an island. You looked further, you saw a large boat, ikrans, a village. You saw a Na’vi clan on their knees, the military avatars pointing their guns at them while Quaritch was yelling at them, showing a picture on his tablet. Jake.
“The princess finally wakes up. Come on.” You were hauled up by a guy and pulled to the scene.
As you grew closer, you realized Spider was playing translator for him. It seemed like he had gotten nothing from them. This wasn’t the good island nor the good clan. Quaritch stopped when he saw you and turned to you.
“I told you you had a choice. Here it is again. You tell me where the Sullys are or I kill all of them.”
He had told you he would hurt you. You had thought it would be physical. You should have known better from a man like him.
You were forced on your knees and forced to look at the Olo’eyktan and Tsahik of the clan.
“Look at them. Do you want to watch them die ? It’ll be all your fault, you know ?”
Tears grew in your eyes. You could save them, but at what cost ? You saw flashes of the Sullys’ dead bodies in your head. Jake, Neytiri, Kiri, Lo’ak, Tuk...Neteyam.
You couldn’t. Couldn’t. Couldn’t.
“Go fuck yourself.” Your voice was shaking and blood spread in your mouth as you bit your tongue.
The Tsahik’s head was forced on the ground, the gun pointed at her temple.
“Are you sure about this ?” Quaritch asked. You couldn’t answer anymore. “I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry...” You kept repeating in Na’vi.
Spider yelled out at Quaritch, forcing him to look at him. “Don’t do this ! They don’t know anything. She won’t tell you a thing either, especially if you kill them. Please, just stop.”
You kept looking into the tsahik’s eyes. If this was to be your fault, you would force yourself to look. You would carry the death in you forever.
“We really going to kill her ?” The man with the gun at her head asked with no emotion.
Quaritch didn’t say anything for a minute. It felt like an hour.
“They don’t know anything. Let’s burn it all.” He said finally and the gun left the tsahik’s temple.
You finally breathed again. You made yourself look at them burn the village. All you felt was rage.
How could they dare come in an innocent clan’s village to destroy everything ? How could he ? For some sort of stupid revenge ? Would a man like him never fucking move on ?
At least, it seemed like Spider got to him, which surprised and disgusted you at the same time. How could he act like he cared now about him when he hadn’t then ?
Quaritch looked back at you and motioned to the guy. “Knock her out. Keep her quiet.”
All you saw was the butt of the gun going down on your head, before you passed out again.
(Tonowari had come around the Sullys’s hut to tell them sky people had attacked with a human boy translating for them and a captive human girl.
“A human girl ?” Jake asked, worried.
Neytiri and Jake both looked at each other, fearing the worst. They both knew who it was but did not want to believe it.
“We have to believe she’ll be okay. She is strong.” Neytiri said, her hand intertwining with Jake’s.
He nodded. How could they tell their kids she had been taken ? How could they tell Neteyam ?)
(He wouldn’t get the chance to know.)
You woke up later in a boat in a corner of what seemed the main control room, in the middle of an unknown crew, your feet unbound, you hands still cuffed.
Spider was sitting next to you. He sighed in relief. “You’re finally awake. You’re scared me there for a minute.”
Your head hurt.
“How are you not even cuffed ?” You mumbled out, straightening up against the wall.
“Tracker’s in my mask. And we’re in a boat full of military men right now, so I guess he hasn’t even thought of cuffing me.”
“But he does me ?” You asked, as you raised your hands to show him. “Spider... what the fuck is going on ? Why were you even translating for the guy ? Why did you tell him I would have been the helicopter ?”
His head hung low, to hide his eyes and his face.
You scoffed at his silence. “And why were the ikrans there ?” You nudged him. “They wouldn’t have known how to do it. Tell me the truth.”
He got up in an instant, pacing. “You don’t know how it was like ! I was left with them, they took me and he told me to just follow them around. And... yes, I told them how to do it. I taught them stuff. What do you want me to say ?”
“I don’t know, Spider ! All I know is it’s been helping them. That’s not your father. That’s a copy of him in an avatar body. And even if it was him, that’s a man who decided that destroying a planet and its people was more important than his own son !” You screamed in frustration.
“And where did answering back take you, huh ? Look, you’re injured, cuffed, prisoner with no way out.” You couldn’t believe your ears at his words. “You’re in the exact same situation, Spider. You may not be injured, but you’re as much a captive as I am. Do not think he cares now. He doesn’t and he never will, not really.” You spat out. “He’ll never care about anything but revenge against Jake.”
You sighed. You were so tired. “All I know is I will never tell him anything. I also know I was worried about you. I’m glad you’re okay.”
He sat down again next to you, shoulder against yours. “I’m sorry... Everything is so confusing. I’m glad you’re okay too.”
You stayed like this for a while. There was commotion at some point, the crew getting busy and you ended up in front of a screen with Spider and an unknown man, Dr Garvin.
The screen showed big beautiful animals swimming through the ocean. “What are they going to do ?” You asked, even though you already knew the answer.
“They are going to hunt the tulkun mother.” Dr Garvin answered bitterly, as if he did not want to be there but had no other choice.
You could only watch as they killed the mother and left the calf to desperately stay with its mother. You wanted to cry. What was the point of all of this ?
“They hunt them. He also wants to trap Jake with this.” Spider whispered to you. You didn’t understand how that would work. “The tulkuns bond with the people. This tulkun is bonded with someone. He’s trying to get them to fight back and get the Sullys through that.”
You didn’t even know what to answer. What else could you have expected from Quaritch ? Of course, since he couldn’t get the answer through you, he would try a trap.
Spider went with Quaritch to go into the tulkun. You stayed in the corner of the room. You debated trying to run for it and jump in the ocean. But where would you even go ?
You weren’t a great swimmer. You were still cuffed. You were okay at survival and fighting, but you were outnumbered by a large amount.
So you didn’t do anything.
Until Spider came back. Until everything became a mess and Lo’ak, Tuk and apparently the Olo’eyktan and Tsahik’s daughter were taken and cuffed at the edge of the boat.
An avatar hauled you up. “What are you doing ?” Spider asked before the man pushed him away, into the wall. “Stay away, she’s going with the others.”
You didn’t try to fight back. At least you would be with Lo’ak and Tuk. You shook your head at Spider. Don’t try anything, dumb ass.
He pulled at your arm until he got you to Quaritch. You heard Lo’ak’s “Sky girl !” and Tuk’s little gasp.
“Here’s some use for you, girlie. You’ll be bait with your little friends.”
He uncuffed you to intertwine your cuffs to the railing. You hissed at him in the process. He didn’t even pick up your attitude, stepping away to talk to Jake. At the same time, you looked over the railing to see the whole sea clan was out.
That was how you would be bait. You got it now.
You couldn’t see Neteyam though, you realized as you narrowed your eyes. Where was he ? What was he doing ?
Lo’ak was the closest to you. “How the hell have you ended up here, sky girl ?” He asked, looking down at you in concern. “Not that I’m not happy to see you. I missed you, but you know what I mean.”
You smiled. “Missed you too, ass. But Quaritch basically kidnapped me and tried to get me to talk. Didn’t work, so now I’m bait with you guys.” You joked. “You okay, Tuk ?”
She nodded and you smiled at her. You looked at the one in between them. A beautiful Na’vi girl with lighter blue skin and beautiful features. “Sorry, we haven’t met before. I’m the human girl, maybe you’ve been told about me. I’ve heard you’re the Olo’eyktan’s daughter.”
“I’m Tsireya. I’ve heard about you from the Sullys and I saw you when you visited Kiri.” She said softly.
“It’s nice to meet you. Even though it would have been better in any other situation than this, right now.” You answered, with a little laugh.
One of the avatar men hit you in the back with their gun. “Shut up !”
You gasped and groaned in pain. Lo’ak yelled out. “Hey ! Watch what you’re doing !” When you saw the man decided to approach Lo’ak, you told the Sully brother to calm down. “It’s fine, Lo’ak. Let’s just shut up and wait.”
“What’s dad doing ?” Tuk asked, her little voice shaking and worried.
Jake was moving forward alone. He was going with Quaritch’s orders. If it went on, he would die. Nothing was going right.
A tulkun rose up from the water and threw itself right unto the boat, a few meters away from you.
“Payakan !” Lo’ak screamed with glee. “Do you know him ?” You yelled over the commotion.
“He bonded with him. He’s soul brother.” Tsireya screamed, explaining to you. You turned to Lo’ak with a laugh. “Well shit, Lo’ak. You’ll thank him, he just saved our asses.”
You tried to get out of the cuffs to no avail as Payakan fought back.
You then heard Tuk yell. “Neteyam !”
Your heart skipped a beat. You hadn’t been able to see him. Was he okay ?
He went over the railing and freed Tuk first.
He hadn’t seen you yet, hidden behind Lo’ak larger body. “Who’s the mighty warrior, huh ?” He laughed and boasted to Lo’ak as he cut his cuffs.
It was only when Lo’ak was freed that he saw you. He froze for a second, before he went right into action.
“What the hell are you doing here ?” He asked hurriedly while cutting your hands free. “No hello, how are you doing ?” You jokingly asked. He simply looked at you with that stare of his, his hands now incapable of not touching you. “I was...kind of taken by Quaritch.”
His eyes turned violent and angry. His stance stiff. He took your chin and raised your face up to see through the mask. He saw the small injuries. He saw the marks around your neck. He felt around you head and you grimaced when he touched the bump.
“You’re hurt.” He stated, grumbled. His eyes still screamed for murder. His hands still traced the contours of your face and neck gently.
“Nothing much, Nete. I’ll be fine. We need to get out of here.”
He nodded. “We need to get Tuk out of there first.”
Lo’ak stopped him. “Tsireya and sky girl, go with her. We have to get Spider.” Neteyam hesitated. “We can’t leave him here !”
Neteyam accepted.
“I’m coming with you guys.”
He shook his head vehemently. “No chance, sky girl. You’re taking Tuk and getting to safety. Now.”
You shook your head back. “I know where to go... kinda. I can help you.” He still pushed you away towards Tsireya and Tuk. You took his hands off. “I’m not leaving Spider and I’m not leaving you. Not again.”
Your eyes searched around for a rifle and you took it. “I can defend myself.” He sighed. “You are all going to kill me one day, I swear.” He then pointed to you and Lo’ak. “You stick to me. No funny business. No risk. We find Spider and we go right away. Understood ?”
You both nodded. This was prime hunter Neteyam speaking, getting into combat.
You stuck close to Neteyam and still showed the way as best as you could, for the little of the boat you had seen.
You all found Spider and fought your way out.
“I’ll distract them ! Go !” Neteyam screamed, as Lo’ak and Spider jumped in the water. You didn’t. “You skxawng, you better get in the water right now, or I’m pushing you in myself.” You still stayed.
“I’m not going without you.” You insisted. “I’ll kill you when we get out of this, sky girl.” You nodded with a smile. “Looking forward to it, Nete.”
You both got out of you cover to shoot and get closer to the water, distracting them in the process. You were both about to toss the guns and jump when you saw one of the avatar men put his gun up in Neteyam’s direction.
You didn’t think.
You didn’t think at all.
A second felt like minutes, hours.
A second changed everything.
Your body moved. You put all of your force into pushing Neteyam out of the way and into the water first.
You felt the bullet pierce your chest. You felt the pain explode in your whole body. You fell in the water backwards.
You did your best to swim out, to get your head above the water. The pain was dragging you down, making it hard for you to stay afloat.
Neteyam rushed to you, as you struggled and gasped for air. You felt like something was wrong with your lungs, a rattling, making it hard to breathe or move.
He pulled you to him, helped you up. “What’s wrong ?” He sounded panicked, kept you close. You wheezed for air. “Got...shot...” You barely managed to say.
“Shit, shit, shit.” He swam as fast as he could to his ilu, sitting you in front of him and getting to land as fast as he could. “You’re gonna be okay. It’s gonna be fine.” He whispered in your ear, supporting your body with his. “I told you to stick to me. I told you no funny business, you skxawng.”
A wet laugh came out of you, wet with your blood. You knew it wasn’t a good sign. Everything hurt. You could only let yourself lay against his chest.
You arrived to a rock, Lo’ak and Spider following behind. Neteyam held you in his arms to settle you down. Jake and Neytiri arrived a few seconds later.
Jake turned you around, saw the exit wound through your shirt, saw the blood. He could only press a hand against his forehead.
“Dad, what ? What is it ?” Neteyam asked, and Jake shook his head.
Neteyam refused to believe it. He held you in his arms. “Sky girl, you’re going to be okay. We’re going to make it out and we’ll go home, okay ?”
You were working harder and harder to even breathe. Darkness was creeping up at the edges of your eyesight. You felt numb. The pain had become simple numbness.
You knew it was over. You could feel yourself slipping away, bit by bit.
“Nete...” You wheezed, trying to lift your hand, to no avail. Your limbs wouldn’t answer anymore. “I never...never told you...”
He shook his head. “You’ll tell me later. You’ll have all the time to tell me. We’ll have so much time, you and I. So much time.” His eyes never left your face, your eyes. “We’ll go hunt, we’ll go fly on my ikran, we’ll keep watch on the rest of the idiots, we’ll slip away at night and look at the stars. We...”
You smiled slightly. You stopped him. “No, need to tell you...now.” You took your last deep breath. “I see...you. Always have. Always...” You whispered.
Neteyam was shaking, you could feel his hands trembling. “I know. I know, sweet girl. I see you.”
You smiled. You looked at his face, his eyes, the glowing freckles. You committed all the little details in your memory. You wanted him to be the last thing you saw.
You didn’t want to go. You wanted to stay with him. Fuck everything you had said about not belonging together. You wanted more time. You wanted to go against everything you had ever believed.
But, the darkness took over. The control over your body left and you went limp. Your eyes got lost in the void. You were slipping away, you slipped away.
Your time had slipped away like sand.
Neteyam couldn’t understand as you went completely limp in his arms.
“Sweet girl ? Come on. Please. Don’t do this, don’t do this.” Neteyam begged.
He heard gasps from behind him, cries. He barely registered them as he held your body closer, as he tried to shake you to wake you up.
“Don’t go. Please, please.” He whispered, his eyes still on your face.
Your skin felt colder already. Your eyes weren’t looking at him anymore.
They would never look at him again. He would never feel them on him again. He would never hold your hand again. He would never feel you fall asleep against him again. He would never see you smile again. Never hear your voice. Your laugh.
It hit.
He screamed. “Great mother, why ? Why ? Not her ! Please !” He screamed and cried and sobbed. “Please...”
Jake and Neytiri could only watch as their son held you to his body tight, not seeing anything but you, crying and whispering to you to come back.
They had to move. Kiri and Tuk were still in the boat, captives by Quaritch.
Jake put a hand on Neteyam’s shoulder. “Neteyam, we need to go.”
He had no reaction the first time, still crying, his face in your hair.
“Neteyam !”
Neteyam looked up at his father, his eyes lost and full of tears.
“Your sisters are still in there. We need to go, now.” Jake said, his hands on both Neteyam’s shoulders now. “I know... I know it’s hard, but I need you to have a strong heart right now. Your mother and I need you with us.”
The words finally registered in his mind. Kiri and Tuk were still in danger. In danger by the same people who had killed you.
He couldn’t describe the rage he felt spread from his core, flames eating up at him. He needed to kill them. Needed to get his sisters back and kill all of them. Kill Quaritch.
He nodded. He laid you down on the rock gently. He took off your mask. You didn’t need it anymore.
The pain was excruciating. He felt like his heart was breaking, being torn out of his own chest.
It has already been torn out, he thought. You had taken it with you as you left and went somewhere he could not follow.
Neteyam closed your eyes and pressed a kiss on your eyelids and on your cheeks. He could almost fool himself in the fact that you were just sleeping.
If only.
He got up and took a deep breath. He looked around him.
Lo’ak and Spider were crying too. You had been a sister to them for so long. Now, you were gone.
Tsireya was a comforting presence at Lo’ak’s back. He was grateful that his brother wasn’t alone.
Jake and Neytiri looked at him with somber expressions. He could also see the tears in their eyes, the pain.
You had been sky people, but they all had loved you like one of their own.
His mother looked at him, letting the rage and pain also fill her eyes. “We have to go. Get your sisters back. Kill them.”
He nodded and joined her on her ikran. His father went on his own ilu with Spider who was willing to show the way.
“I want to go with you.” Lo’ak said to Jake.
He turned to him, “You have done enough. Stay with her.”
Neteyam already knew Lo’ak wouldn’t listen. He knew his brother too well. He wouldn’t stand by, especially not with everything that was happening, that had happened. Neteyam wouldn’t try to stop him, not this time.
After that, Neteyam let the pain, the rage, the anger, the grief take over. He took a spear a Metkayina had left in a body. He killed.
Any man coming his way was killed. A hit in the throat, before he took the spear out. A swipe at their stomach or their limbs, cutting off parts, ending them.
He didn’t see anymore, not really. He only saw red. He wanted red to spill, blood out of them, revenge. He barely had any control over his body. He was only fueled by the image of your body in the back of his mind. The image of his sisters captive.
He couldn’t say how many had fallen under his spear. A trail of bodies were left by him and Neytiri.
Neytiri let her own rage talk beside him. A rage that had built over the past year. Rage over the sky people coming back. Rage over having to run to protect their family and leave her home behind (the one she had promised to protect to her father). Rage over her family getting hurt over and over again.
They looked like two demons coming for retribution. Two hurt beings fueled by pure instincts. The sky people had no chance.
He was only brought back when he saw Quaritch with his knife at Kiri’s throat. Tuk was with their dad, but Kiri was still stuck.
He approached slowly, his mind racing, trying to find a way out of this situation.
Neytiri appeared, her knife at Spider’s throat.
She hissed at Quaritch. “A child for a child.”
(She had hated sky people, couldn’t accept Spider nor you in the beginning.
You had never pushed, especially with her. She had learned to at least tolerate you.
She had seen the genuine love you had for all of them, and especially Neteyam.
She couldn’t accept it at first. The looks between the two of you. This was her firstborn, her son. He couldn’t end up with sky people. It did not make sense.
But she had seen the way you distanced yourself. The way you always tried to pull away. The way you smiled and laughed and loved them, but looked lost and pained when they weren’t looking.
She had learned to respect you. And she had learned to love you.
(“Ma’Jake, are you really going to do this ? Teach her ?” She had asked one day. Jake had decided to teach her survival skills.
He looked at his mate with a small smile. “Our kids love her. She’s become a part of us. She needs to be able to protect herself.” She sighed. “Look... she reminds me of me in a lot of ways. It’s not her fault she’s ended up here. She didn’t ask for this. But, she’s been there for our kids and she’s been trying.”
Neytiri knew this. You tried to learn, while keeping your distance and your limits. You were respectful.
Even her own mother seemed to see something in you. And she also saw it but did not want to admit it.)
She ended up also teaching you the way of the bow. The way of the hunt.
She ended up liking your company. The way you worked hard and were eager to learn. The way you would not push conversation.
Day after day, you had wormed your way into her family.
You had become one of hers.)
She hissed again, her voice a rumble in her chest. “I cut !”
She cut Spider’s chest to show that she meant it. Quaritch let Kiri go.
Neteyam only remembered taking Kiri and Tuk and going backwards in the water, away from Quaritch, even if he wanted to gut him. Wanted him to bleed out slowly on the ground.
But his sisters mattered more. That was what you would want too. Kiri and Tuk safe, before any revenge.
As he swam away with them, Neytiri and Spider, his father stayed behind to fight Quaritch. He prayed to Eywa that his dad would win. He had to.
The fire spread before they could get away.
“We need to swim back !” Spider screamed and Neteyam swam back towards the boat, tugging Tuk and his mother along with him.
They tried to find a way out, to get away from the fire. Tuk fell, taken by the water. Neytiri jumped after her.
“Try to get out of here, find Lo’ak or my dad!” He screamed to Kiri and Spider. “I’m going after mom and Tuk!”
He jumped in.
He found them quickly. “What are you doing here, son ?” Neytiri screamed. “You should have stayed with Kiri and Spider !”
“I’m not leaving you two behind. Let’s move forward, mom.” He said with resolve, moving first with Neytiri.
They managed to escape the water, swimming as fact as they could. One door would not open. Neytiri tried. Neteyam tried and tried, bruising his hands.
His mother put a hand on his shoulder. “There’s no point, Neteyam. It’s okay.”
They stayed the three of them, huddled close. Neteyam held Tuk close to him. Neytiri held them both close.
“We’re going to be okay, Tuk. All is going to be fine.” He whispered, as the water kept rising.
He remembered the same words he had said to you before you died. He hoped it wouldn’t be the same. Not for Tuk. Not for his mom.
A part of him would have been okay with being taken by the water. With joining you wherever you were. But not when his mother and sister were there too.
The water kept rising and rising. He held Tuk closer.
Eywa, sky girl, please.
Lights came, along with Kiri. They were saved. He hugged Kiri. He said thank you to the great mother, to his sky girl.
They got out. They found Lo’ak and their dad. They all hugged.
Sullys stick together.
They went back to the rock. Tsireya had stayed with you the whole time.
Neteyam felt the adrenaline and everything fall away. He felt the rage and anger slip away, only to leave the pain and the grief.
He scooped you up in his arms again and held you close. You were so small and still so limp.
He saw Tuk and Kiri realize.
“Oh no... No...” Kiri broke down, coming to hold your hand. “Oh, sky girl...” She cried the loss of her best friend.
Tuk only cried, pressing your other hand to her cheek.
They all huddled close to you and Neteyam.
Spider came back. Sat there, eyes lost.
Neteyam cradled you, protected you until the sea clan came back to help them out back to the island.
He kept you in his arms the whole way, his forehead to yours.
And still when they all arrived and stepped foot on land.
“We...we want a proper funeral for her. We know she was not Na’vi but she was one of us.” Jake asked Tonowari and Ronal.
Neteyam stepped forward. He looked at them with despair and pain. “Please. I would not dare to ask such a thing but I have to, for her. Please let her rest with Eywa.”
They both looked at each other and had a silent conversation. They knew they could not say no. Not to the Sullys who had fought for the Metkayinas and had become a part of their people.
Not to their grief. And especially not to the oldest son, who they saw destroyed.
They saw how he never let you down, how he looked at you, the tears in his eyes.
“Of course. We will hold a proper funeral for her, in your honor.” Tonowari promised.
That night, they all gathered at the Cove of the Ancestors.
All of the Sullys gathered around you, all touching some part of your skin.
Neteyam, Jake and Neytiri went with you to submerge your body and lead you to the polyp bed. The corals took you.
The sea gives and the sea takes.
Neteyam watched as you joined Eywa, body and soul. He didn’t know how to go on, now. Not without you.
He didn’t connect with Eywa. He was too scared to do it. Too scared to see you again. If he did, he didn’t know how he would have the strength to stay away.
He would want nothing but to stay connected forevermore.
He couldn’t do it. Not yet.
The Sullys left to go back to the forest for a little bit. To tell Mo’at. To tell Norm and Max.
They went back to the Omaticayas. They were welcomed well.
Neteyam tried to smile, to be happy for the reunion. He felt nothing but emptiness.
“Hey everyone.” Norm came to them in his avatar, hugging Jake in the process. Max followed behind him and other humans too. They all looked tired.
“We...we lost her. She was just gone.” Max whispered.
Jake had a somber expression. “We know. Quaritch had her and brought her to us. She...she’s with Eywa now.”
The humans all looked surprised before somber expressions took over their faces too. Norm had to sit down. “What happened ?” He asked after a deep silence.
“She got shot for me.” Neteyam answered. He hated the words. Hated that they were real.
He could barely sleep anymore. He wished it had been but a nightmare. A nightmare his mind had conjured up.
He had hoped to find her with the Omaticayas safe and sound.
If only.
“Norm, should we tell them ?” Max commented.
Norm said nothing, simply got up and motioned them to come to the lab.
In the back of the lab laid a tank covered up.
“We didn’t know if we would be able to ever make it. We barely had the means, it’s been trial and error with what we had left.” Norm commented, taking the cover off. “It’s been years of process and development. We started when she was a kid, without her even realizing it. We just saw how much she loved you all and had to try.”
“And she had become a daughter to us.” Max added.
They both let the Sullys come through to see what was in the tank. Neteyam was the first one to witness whatever it was.
There was an Avatar floating, still connected. Neteyam saw its head turn. The face had your features. Your features on a Na’vi.
Your hair, your eyes, your mouth.
With blue skin. Taller. Ears twitching. Tail and queue.
A dream he had always had. You looking like him.
“We thought she would be able to link with it one day and even have her soul transfer through Eywa but, now...” Norm trailed off, a hand over his eyes.
Neteyam pressed a hand to the tank, wishing he could touch you, wishing you were in it. The body was useless without your soul, your spirit, your heart in it.
“What if we tried ?” He said, turning to look at his parents, his sisters and brother.
Jake looked at him, his eyebrow raised up. “What do you mean, son ?”
“She’s with Eywa. What if we asked Mo’at to still try the transfer ? Eywa may let her soul get into the body.”
Neytiri shook her head. “It does not work like that, Neteyam. She is already gone with Eywa. She cannot come back.”
“So what ? We don’t try ?” His voice raised up with frustration. “There’s a body right there for her. We’re just going to let it die without even trying ? What if it works and she can come back ?”
He turned back to the tank, looking at your face. “I need to try. Just once. I wouldn’t be able to live and go on if I hadn’t tried.” He mumbled.
He went to Mo’at. They all did but he was the one at the head of the family, which he never was. His dad would always talk, make the decisions.
He had to try. He had to. He explained everything to Mo’at.
“Like my daughter said, it will not work. She had a strong heart and I am too saddened to have lost such a soul. I had wished she had been Na’vi. But, it does not work like that.”
Neteyam’s frustration was growing and growing. He willed himself to calm down. “Just...let’s just try, please Mo’at. Just one try. If it doesn’t work, then, that’s it. But let’s try, for her.”
Mo’at conceited after a long silence.
“We will need someone to guide her back. This will be more complicated than the transfer your father went through.”
“I will do it.”
Both Neteyam and Kiri had talked.
“No.” Jake retorted right away. “No, Kiri. You had a seizure last time.”
Kiri turned to their parents with a scowl. “I am the closest to Eywa, and you know that. I can help her. And I will do it with Neteyam.”
Jake and Neytiri still looked at her in disapproval.
“Please. She is my best friend. I have to do this with him.”
Jake conceited too, with a sigh. “Okay, but no risk. You realize something is going to happen, you feel anything, you’re out of there, okay ?”
She nodded. Neteyam bumped his shoulder against hers. They smiled at each other, ready.
The Omaticayas all gathered at the Tree of the Ancestors, for you.
Another gathering. This time Neteyam wished it was for an happier reason. He prayed you would be reborn.
He prayed to Eywa as he held your avatar body and laid you in front of Mo’at.
He prayed as he connected his queue. He prayed as Kiri connected hers.
Neteyam opened up his eyes to find himself in the forest. Kiri was beside him.
They saw you a few feet away, squatting down, your bare feet in the grass, your fingers touching a glowing flower.
You turned around to look at them and smiled. Neteyam felt a rock in his throat, an acute pain in his heart.
He had missed your smile. He had missed your eyes.
“Guys !” You waved them over, standing up.
Kiri went to you first, smiling with tears streaming down her face. “I missed you, stupid girl.
You laughed. “We saw each other literally yesterday, Kiri. You hit your head during the night ?”
Neteyam got close too, intertwined his fingers with yours. You looked at him to realize he was also crying.
“You too ? Are you guys okay ?” You asked, this time worried something had truly happened.
Neteyam just smiled. “Come on, sweet girl, come with us.”
You let yourself be taken away. You would have followed Neteyam anywhere, anyway.
You felt your hand slip away from his. Bright light entered your eyesight.
You breathed again. You felt the ground against your back. A hand on your face.
You slowly opened up your eyes. You saw the Tree of the Ancestors. You were confused.
You saw Neteyam. His hand was on your face.
“What is going on, Nete ?” You tried to say but only whispered, your voice unused. Your throat hurt.
You saw him choke up and cry. “Nete !” You sat up with difficulty, other hands helped you. “Slow down, sky girl.” Kiri.
You wiped his tears. Then you saw your hands.
Larger, blue.
You gasped. How ?
You brought them to your face, flexed them, turned them around before Neteyam caught them in his own.
“This is a dream... I’m dreaming...” You whispered, still looking at your hands in Neteyam’s.
“No, you’re home.” He answered, dropping his forehead to yours.
You realized Mo’at was there watching you. She screamed. “She has been reborn !”
You were Na’vi now. Somehow.
It took you a few days to simply understand what had happened.
You remembered getting shot and passing out. You barely remembered anything from your time with Eywa.
You could only remember feeling her, knowing she was real.
Now, you were reborn. You were Na’vi. Somehow, your dream had become true.
You had hugged Norm and Max like never before when you had learned it was thanks to them. They had developed an avatar for you, for years. (Max had moaned in pain. “You’re not human anymore, you’re going to have to learn to be careful.” You had smiled, sorry.)
You were taller, blue. Your ears would twitch. You couldn’t control your tail yet.
You had a tail. It was weird.
(“How do you guys do it ? It’s such a strange feeling...” You asked Lo’ak and Kiri, rubbing your tail.
They both shrugged. It was as natural as breathing for them. As natural as an arm. It was still weird.)
You also didn’t need a mask anymore to breathe the air. You didn’t feel restricted anymore.
Only the lack of control of your own body restricted you.
(“How the hell do you even go forward without falling ?” You were frustrated. You had tried forming tsaheylu with a pa’li.
It had seemed okay. You had told it to move forward.
It dashed. You fell on your ass, the tsaheylu broken.
Neteyam tried not to laugh, hiding behind his hand. You wanted to kick him.
Jake looked at you with understanding. He had gone through the exact same thing. He patted your back. “It’s a... lot of trial and error. You’ll be able to do it in no time, don’t worry.”
You didn’t believe him.)
Everything felt surreal. You were in this body, you were alive.
You were laying down with Neteyam, watching the stars. You barely had any time to just be the two of you ever since you had been reborn, so this was a rare occurrence you both were making the most of.
Your head was on his shoulder, your hands intertwined together.
He broke the silence. “I had prayed to watch the stars again with you. I can’t believe Eywa heard me and gave me this.”
You raised up on your elbow to look at him. He looked back at you with pain still lingering in his eyes.
He had grieved you, had thought you were gone forever.
“I’m sorry I left you. I had...had to. I couldn’t imagine you gone so I...” You trailed off, not knowing what to add.
“I know, sweet girl. I would have done the same for you, had I been in your place. Let’s just...never do it again.” He laughed, his fingers drawing a path between your freckles. “Eywa, you’re so beautiful.” He whispered.
Your heart skipped a beat. You felt your ears twitch and your tail move up. “Does that mean I was ugly when I was sky people ?” You joked.
He smirked and tackled you down, his body over yours. “Do you really have to try and twist my words, yawntu ?”
You were going to melt into the ground. This man had to know what he was doing. His smirk grew.
“You were beautiful then. You’re beautiful now. You’ve been beautiful to me, no matter what.”
He whispered, his face lowering down towards yours. His lips met yours. You softly moaned and melted into the kiss. Your hands went on his shoulders as he deepened the kiss, before drawing a path to his back.
You could never get enough of him. Never get enough of this.
Later on, a few weeks down the line, you two would go to the tree of voices.
You had dreamed of what was coming.
You had both waited for years. You knew. You were sure.
He looked at you and kissed your face.
Your hand went to your queue and brought it closer to his.
“Are you ready, yawntu ?” Neteyam asked, his eyes never wavering from your face.
You nodded. “I’ve been ready for a long time.” He laughed, before letting his queue connect to yours. “Me too.”
Your foreheads pressed into each other’s as you felt him. Him.
You couldn’t believe the feeling of it. You felt everything. The way he breathed. Thoughts. Feelings.
What he felt for you.
“I see you.” He whispered.
“I see you.” You whispered back.
You fell into each other and intertwined before Eywa.
Your mate.
It wasn’t over. It was only the beginning.

The Siren and The Demon Chapter 9
Note: Sorry for the late update. This cooperate job is kicking my ass lmao. However, the next chapter will be out shortly because it is currently ready to read, I just need to type it on docs. I love you all.

It was perhaps the first time Zenet had ever seen the expression of emotion on the emperor’s face.
His jaw dropped as Dharak flew up in the air. He turned to the ball-shaped creature and they looked at each other for a few seconds. Then Barodius turned his head to the young girl again.
“Zenet, I am going to need to see some proof.”
Zenet nodded and took her phone out of her pocket. She made a phone call and put it on the dial, holding it in front of her face. Barodius ordered her to come closer with his hand and leaned forward.
The phone rang a few times as Zenet audibly blew her breath out, trying to slow down her heart’s beating.
“Yes Zenet?”
“Dad?”
Gill went silent for a split second, which made Barodius think: Could she have lied?
“Zenet, how many times must I tell you not to call me that? What if I wasn’t alone?”
“I am sorry.” Zenet backed down immediately as she watched Barodius’ jaw drop once again. Gill sighed.
“You can call me dad when we are alone, but you need to be sure that we are alone. Do you understand?”
“Yes, I do.”
“How are you?”
“Fine. I called because I- I am going to come a little late to your place tonight.”
“When are you going to be there?”
“Like, around 10 pm.”
“Why?”
“I need to do a little bit of shopping.”
“Okay then.”
“See you, bye.”
It was Gill who hung up. Barodius looked at Zenet. Carefully, for the first time.
How could he have not realized it? It was obvious! The eyes, the chin, the tiger-like way she walked even. Features of his very best friend. How could he be so blind?
“How?” was the only thing he could verbally ask.
She shrugged. “Life happens, I suppose.”
“Tell me the story, from the beginning. When did you find out who your father was?”
“I kind of always knew. My mom had shown him to me when he was on TV.”
“You had a mother? Then why did you end up in an orphanage?”
“They took me away from her.”
“Why?”
“I…I really don’t want to talk about it.”
“Zenet, I will ask Gill to fill me up on details if you don’t. Would you like that?” He asked, eyes fully open and fixated on her.
Zenet’s voice shivered. “No sire. I would not.”
“Then continue.”
“I… She had trouble with substance abuse. Alcohol, heavy drugs. All of that stuff.”
“Where is she now? Is she alive?”
“I don’t know, sire.”
How could Gill have slept with a woman like that?
“Do you know how they met?”
“No.”
“Why didn’t they send you off to live with Gill instead of the orphanage?”
They tried that first but he didn’t accept it.”
Wow. Just wow.
“Is this why you joined the army? To have access into his life?”
“No. I joined the army because military school was relatively easier to get into and it was a boarding school. So I would not end up on the streets when I turned 15 and got kicked out of the orphanage.”
“They just kick you out when you turn 15?”
Zenet looked at the emperor as if he were an alien. Was he that ignorant about the life conditions of the empire he ruled?
“Yes, they do.” She said, putting all her acting skills to use to mask her anger. “No place to stay, no money, no nothing.” She made a gesture with her hand. “My career choices were either military or prostitution. So here we are. I don’t have a sneaky master plan to ruin Gill’s life.”
“Military and prostitution,” Barodius repeated slowly. She almost said same thing but held her tongue.
“What else is that bastard hiding from me?!” He asked. She held out her hands.
He looked away, thinking. After a moment of silence, he turned to her.
“Spy on him for me. And I will make sure you don’t end up like the others. Find something useful, and I will reward you.”
A faint smile appeared on Zenet’s lips as she quickly bowed.
“Yes sire. As you command.”
Ren needed to sit this one out. Her dad did not understand it, so she had to put her skills to use.
Yet, she was slipping. It took Gill and his partner a short time to figure out who she was.
“What is the meaning of this, Zenet?” he asked. “I told you to stay away!”
“I know I know! I just wanted another shot with those brawlers, y’know? Please, just give me this one chance.” She looked around and checked the door before lowering her voice. “Are you going to deny your daughter of this?”
Well, at least she got more considerate of their secret this time.
“Fine. But you better not mess it up.”
 She exhaled. “Oh, thank you!”
Before leaving the main room to investigate the rest of the ship, she sat on the stairs climbing to Gill’s throne-like seat. She put her elbows on her knees as they sat there in silence.
There was something peaceful about sitting together in silence. In their brief meetings, they would normally always have something to discuss or dispute over.
Zenet could not help but imagine another life in which they had a proper father-daughter relationship instead of…whatever this is.
In that life, this environment would probably be a home setting. Maybe the living room, or Gill’s study. She would be reading a book, or studying. And her dad would be working, or serving himself a drink maybe. And there would be silence, similar to this one yet much less tense.
In that life, Zenet would have a family.
 It was a total disaster!
She had found nothing on the ship. Absolutely nothing! And as the cherry on top, they had lost to the brawlers! Zenet wanted to choke that bastard they call Shun!
 “That’s it! It’s over! I’m done for!”
She was sitting on the floor again. But this time, she was alone with her partner.
“Gill wouldn't-” He tried to say. “He wouldn’t. Right? You are his daughter!”
 “I wish I could say he wouldn’t.”
“Maybe we can talk ourselves out of this. I am sure we can reason with him. At the end of the day, who is more of a natural ally for him than you?”
She bowed her head. “I am not good enough, he saw that today. He won't help me.”
 “Would he be so cruel?”
“You are forgetting we are Gundalian. We are not down with this loyalty thing.”
 “I suppose not.”
She looked at Contestir with ambition burning bright, like a couple of stars in her eyes. “I figured that out about us a long time ago, Constestir. That’s why I applied to be a slipper agent in the first place.” Her shoulders fell off. “I want to be powerful. I want to have enough power to protect myself so that I would never need anybody’s loyalty to save me. You understand?”
“Yes, I think I do.”
“” That’s what makes us different from the humans. Things like friendship and loyalty mean something to the humans Contestir. The only time we want to work together is when we want to mess someone up. And if you don’t have anybody to have your back, that’s pretty much all you can do.”
“To have power?”
“Exactly. Power, control, money.” She shook her head. “That’s what you should be aiming for if you want to survive in here. More than just to survive, if you want to be seen, heard, or respected. I-” She hesitated for a split second. “I will become someone. Someone who would never be kicked out of anywhere. Never.”
Not even by Gill. Contestir wanted to add but held his tongue.
Of course, he would make her spy on Kazarina. Of course.
She tried better with the act this time. She remembered what Jesse taught her about acting, Your act should convince you before anyone else. Let loose. Being to aware of the fact that one is acting spoils one’s entire performance.
Lucky for her, the old hag was so full of herself to realize that she was talking to an impostor.
“Seriously? Those two are planning on overthrowing the emperor?”
“I know right? Can you believe it? Those two are so sneaky!” She bubbled. Her enthusiasm faded as she realized Gill’s attitude towards the news. “And why do you look like that?” She asked.
“Like what?”
“Like you have been betrayed! I thought you would be more excited about all of this.”
“I am.” He said, with the grin that appeared on his lips. “You have done very well, Zenet.”
“Thank you. I am ready for my next assignment sir.” She smiled. “Master Gill.”
The expression froze on her face as she realized his hand in the air. The red light started to crackle between his fingers. Her eyes opened widely.
“Gill!”
Gill’s face turned to panic as they both looked at the emperor, who appeared on the big screen.
Zenet turned his head down as she let her breath out.
“Yes, sire?”
“You don’t touch that girl, do you understand me?”
“But-”
“I said, do you understand me?”
Gill hesitated for a second. “I do.”
“Good.” Barodius hung up without feeling the need to explain himself any further. Gill turned to Zenet, whose torso was slightly bent over, palms touching her knees as she tried to regulate her breath. Her head was down. And without lifting it, she looked up at him.
Her eyes frightened him.
He had made a big mistake.
“What did you do?” He asked with a low voice, trying his best to hide his fear and look intimidating. “What did you do to make him look out for you?”
No use. She was not scared.
It was his turn to be scared now.
She straightened up. “It is none of your business, Gill.”
“Of course it is my business!” He got up from his seat and came closer.
“I am not going to explain myself to you. Why should I? You have never been a father to me! You fucking left me in an orphanage to fuck off and live your best life! You have no right to ask me anything! I can do whatever the fuck I need to do!”
“Zenet, I am going to ask you one more time: What the hell did you do?!”
“Get the fuck out of my face, you son of a bitch!”
The smacking sound of the slap she felt across her face hung in the air, suddenly cutting the screaming match like a knife.
Her hand went to her cheek. It burnt like hellfire, and the skin had already gotten red.
He slowly moved forward. “Zenet…” He tried to say. But she stepped back, raging. “Fuck off.” She cursed once again. Her eyes, which were ironically identical to his, stared deep into his soul.
“You are going to pay for this.”

Tumblr media
„It‘s okay.“ the Traveller said. Then they explained to you in great detail who he was. Your eyes widen with every story they told. But then they said one thing „He is the son of the Raiden Shogun. A failed puppet.“ with just that it hit you. You jumped up from the seat on the bench. „MY LOVE THAT IS MY LOVE“ you screamed, already rushing after him. „Their what now?“ Paimon asked confused and in the next moment all three of you were looking for him. But you sadly couldn’t find him. After a whole day looking for him and not finding him you broke down. „How could I be THAT stupid. I didn’t even remember him. The one that tried to protect my little brother. The one that showed me the world.“ tears running down your face as your voice broke into many pieces. „This is all my fault. I am so sorry Traveller.“ The traveller answered:“it’s okay. He erased himself from the world. It is a wonder you remembered him. And when he finds out he‘ll cherish it I’m sure of that.“
In this night you hardly could fall asleep. Wanderer always crossed your mind and you judged yourself for not remembering him even more. „But I still love him… I will always do so…“ you whispered.
The next morning went sloppy for you. With almost no sleep you tried to get into your clothes somehow but didn’t quite manage to do that. You stepped out of your small apartment. The sun shining directly into you face, the sunshine’s feeling like the sun is screaming for the day to be good but for you nothing was good. You lost your one and only love. You did not remember him. How could you??? Why?????? You went to the meeting spot from yesterday hoping the Wanderer would cross this way once again. And after 2 hours waiting he did. But as soon as the little puppet noticed you he turned around and made a run from it. But this time you won’t let that happen. With the low energy you had you sprinted after him and pushed him down with you landing on him.
„What the hell? What are you thinking?!“ shouted the little man beneath you. You sat up and let him breath a bit. „I wanted to apologise, my love! I was so stupid! You are the most important person in my life and I just forgot you! I am for real a big disappointment. I am very sorry again.“ you stated, staring straight into his eyes. The failed experiment in front of you just sat there not even breathing. He admired you in the moment. „My love“ you still called him that. You…still loved him… „Dear?“ you tilted your head with a worried look on your face.
The next second was blurred out of you memory and your lips were one. Shocked you sat there until you gave in. Even if Scara seems to be bad at a lot he certainly gives the best passionate kisses. When you pulled away you only had eyes for his angry expression. „I thought I had lost you. Don’t give me such a freaking fright again ,understood moron?“ Scara scoffed. „Yeah sure my dear.“ you giggled
The Traveller and Paimon staring from far:“ if they won’t watch out, they will make children on the street.“ „TRAVELLER“
Hehe this is a lil rushed now I hope you still like it! Thanks for reading! Requests open!
Bye<3 Good morning/evening/night/day<333

bye i forgot to anon, anyway, OH LYS WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME *AGGRESSIVE CACKLING NOISES* NOW IM IMAGINING THE EVENTS AFTER THAT LMAO i went to the comment section bc yes i read it again as well, and everyone's just fanning the flames (IN HELL!!! SEE YOU ALL THERE) and contributing to the encounter's aftermath 😭😭
tumblr over other active socmeds, very understandable tbh i love how unhinged it is here and likee the users' interactions are more ✨ interesting ✨ here than the other sites ikyk
IT'S OKAY I LOVE U SO IT'S FINE, I DO ENJOY MEETING FELLOW TUMBLR USERS !!! ILL STEAL U FOR MY FEED !!! omg i have to go and look back at the comments, they'll egg me on but BC OF U !! I actually just started writing a little silliness LMFAO !! We are unhinged tho, like where else would i casually write about a crazy church goer and corrupt cop but tumblr and AO3? THE CHAOS IS IMMINENT
Does Eren feel great about corrupting the local church’s youth group leader and shining example of chastity? No, not really, in fact, his mother would probably murder him for it if she ever found out.
But in the meantime, he’s sure stories of his ‘new girlfriend’ and possible marriage prospect will mollify her.
Or at least he hopes so, but regardless, that is the least of Eren’s problems. His biggest problem is the pain in the ass cadet he’s been assigned as a partner for the last week and a half of Armin’s paternity leave and said local churchgoing sweetheart’s ex-boyfriend. All in all, Eren has embroiled himself in a plot quite fitting for the church. He can see the headline now, ‘Local Cop Seduces Innocent Church Girl, Leaves Hopeful Cadet Destitute’.
“I hate him,” Jean is muttering darkly from Armin’s desk across from him, fidgeting with his pen in agitation. If only Jean knew that Eren is the ‘him’ he’s referring to. Instead, he’s simply been subjected to a singular break up text, and several quotes about the bible and forgiveness splashed across Mikasa’s instagram story.
If Eren weren’t in the middle of it he’d find the entire plot amusing, but he doesn’t want Jean to become more irritating than he already is.
The rhythmic click, click, click of Jean’s pen clicking is what finally sets Eren over the edge. “Leave your personal shit at home, Kirstchein, we have a job to do and that paperwork isn’t going to complete itself.” Jean looks like a kicked puppy as he turns back towards his paperwork, appropriately chastised by his superior, and for a split second Eren almost feels bad for the man.
But then Mikasa sends him a nude, and he doesn’t feel so bad for the asshole anymore.

Hello there! I've never done a request in my life so this is a first
Your writing is great and I've decided trust you with a quest most frivolous, quill-master 🫡
Could you do a "Nadia with a female reader who is very - and I mean very - extraverted, bold, outspoken (but not in a dumb way 💀), kind of comedy master who just can't be intimidated even by the gods themselves?" LMAO I think I'm kinda bad at this but you feel what I'm trying to say right? You know like that one player in D&D who has maxed out charisma 🤓
And perhaps, if you feel like it, how that would work out in their bedroom dynamics?
ANYWAYS, thanks for being one of the last people on this app who make outstanding Nadia content AND THANKS FOR THE ATTENTION TOO OKAY BYE
This is kinda long I'm so sorry 💀
Hello Beatriz 👀 If I may call you that.
It always warms my heart when someone trusts me with their first request, so thank you, I hope I did alright 😭❤
This ended up being longer than I expected. Like, idk how? I wrote a sentence and panicked for like two hours because I had no idea what else to write, and then boom, it was there? I guess that means it's a very good ask 😎
I included a bit of spice, btw. Enjoy!
Ohh and I don't mind the long ask. On the contrary 👀
Nadia x Extroverted Fem!Reader
It is no secret that the Countess is quite an introverted woman, so your extroverted nature was a bit foreign to her at first. She felt insecure because what if you think she's not fun enough? Of course, no one would ever think that, but it took a few hugs and kisses to make Nadia feel alright again.
You tend to be bolder when it comes to flirting, which makes Nadia react in the cutest way possible. First, she stares at you for a second, gears turning in her head, but no words come out for a moment, and then she replies with something even bolder. What happens after that? You two keep flirting until one of you dies from blushing too hard.
Late-night talks with you two are to die for. Nadia is normally more reserved, but once you retire to her bedroom and start talking about anything and everything? That's like the best thing ever. And Nadia also loves listening to you talk. She admires you with so much love in her eyes whenever you open your mouth.
And the jokes. Oh my gayness, the jokes! Somehow, you find a way to make Nadia laugh all the time. You find out very early that the Countess snorts.
Imagine a meeting in the palace. The Court being the Court, they bring up an issue that makes no sense, and they have a whole argument about it. Nadia sits there, mentally facepalming herself, when you lean close and whisper something into her ear. The Countess ends up running out of the meeting room because of how hard she is laughing. That happens at least once a week.
You have never had any issues with socializing, so you have a lot of friends (or at least more than Nadia does). Nadia, however, spent most of her life alone, and when you introduced her to your friends, she felt very excited but also nervous. When everyone went home, Nadia almost cried in happiness because of how much fun she had with your friend group.
Every single time someone new shows up at the palace to meet the Countess, you yeet yourself to them because you just can't wait to meet them no matter who they are. By the time the person gets to meet Nadia, you have become besties with them, and they also invite you to the next family gathering to meet their sixty-nine relatives. Needless to say, Nadia is impressed.
Nadia admires that you can get along with anyone. And also that you fear no one, but it scares Nadi a bit sometimes.
She loves that you're not intimidated by her, tho. Most people are, so it's very refreshing for her.
There are a few cases when you are being a little too bold. For example, with a person who vastly outranks you and isn't very interested in a friendly chat. Nadia stands behind you, and puts her hands on your shoulders, giving them a gentle squeeze. "Y/N, my darling, how about you let me handle this one?" And everything about Nadia is just so comforting that you are immediately like, "Yes, my love, anything you want."
You might get in trouble sometimes, but Nadia always saves your ass.
Speaking of your ass. You're getting spanked as punishment whenever you're being too bold. You might be doing it on purpose, and I can't blame you.
You are flirting with each other all the damn time, which leads to either one of these outcomes: 1. You have quickies whenever and wherever you can, even if it means hiding somewhere in public. As long as Nadia doesn't make you moan too loud, it's all good. 2. You tease each other all day, and then as soon as you retire to Nadia's bedroom, your clothes are suddenly gone, and you two have passionate sex until you're both completely exhausted.
Nadia is a dom, and even an extroverted partner can't change that. However, your boldness is appreciated. Whisper something lewd into Nadia's ear, and you're going to find yourself tied to her bed in no time. The way you frustrate her with your words and inappropriate touching drives her wild.
And fuck. The dirty talk. It's unholy, it's hot as fuck, and you're both loving it. You make her even more vocal than she already is.
Nadia honestly finds it adorable if you're a very submissive person despite how bold you tend to be. She teases you about it, and it makes you squirm and whimper whenever she mentions it during sex.

RICO OMG NINJAGO SCENARIO COMING UP FEEL FREE TO DO WHATEVER YOU WANT WITH IT
OKOK so imagine, (any one in any position is okay but I’m just going to directly assign each one a role so it’s easier to explain LMAO)
Zane, Lloyd and Kai playing a video game, while jay is on the side complaining *very loudly* that the game can only have 3 players and that he can’t wait until it’s his turn. Comes in Cole, with his teeckol monster energy, cheekily telling jay there’s a way he can still be part of the game, and jay our lil angel who currently is sprawled out on the couch with his eyes closed and an arm dramatically over his eyes, doesn’t notice the sheer mischievousness rolling off of Cole, poor baby.
He goes “ whaaaaaaaat waaaaAA-“ and then gets yeeted ( I do not apologise for that word) on Cole’s lap.
He’s squirming and trashing and very much nervous and already guessing some part of what’s going to happen (he’s going to scream at some point, that much he knows) while cole says “hey kai! You get ribs. Zane you get underarms and Lloyd gets his tummy” and then they all nod in agreement while jay is like “WTF IS GOING ON” and then the game starts and kai immediately takes the lead, our beautiful gamer boi, and immediately Cole digs into jay’s ribs :3
so like, whoever is first on the game (maybe it’s like a race game), the spot he got assigned of will be tickled on jay 💚
and Cole did assign jay’s worst spot (in my opinion, his tummy) to Lloyd, the worst player, so that he wouldn’t die LMAO
He could’ve done the opposite and give it to kai 👀
Jay never complains again <3
that day only, obviously. he’s right back at complaining the next time he doesn’t manage to grab a controller before the other!
bye now LMAO
STOP IT RN IM ROLLING AROUND ON THE GROUND AND SCREAMING LIKE A TODDLER IM LOSING MY MIND SO BAD FJKDFNJS
Cole is literally so evil I love how he just. NABS JAY LMFAOOO and the way the other three just know immediately what Cole was talking about and go with it and Jay is just a little puddle AWWW
and u are so right jay is 100% hyper tickly on his tummy and he should be GOT THERE i think it would be so funny if after they finish the game depending on what order they won in they tickle him again in that order LMFAOO just absolutely obliterate him
AND YES HES SUCH A DRAMA LLAMA HE JUST COMPLAINS THE NEXT DAY LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED THE DAY BEFORE LMFAOOO its almost like he wants it to happen... Jay ur so sus for that.
BLESS U FOR THIS RIV I AM GOING TO BE THINKING ABOUT THIS FOR YEARS i need time to recover this is so good i sob.

Something that probably should be written in my journal and not here but if you want the juicy details of my trauma then here you go🤲 (warning homoerotic friendship? I know this sucks):
Okay listen to my TED talk real quick I promise it's juicy... So basically a few days ago I'm scrolling on Bubble, as one does, and I stumbled across the one, the only— My best friend from years ago who, upon further pondering, I was in love with. The first girl I ever loved.
I know what you're thinking: there is no way this could ever turn out good anddd... you would be 100 % correct. So, me and this girl meet in high school. I thought I really wanted to be friends with her (ahem GAY👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩). So we became friends and are so close it's stupid, like at one point she's living with me for two weeks (and we definitely did not sleep on a twin-sized mattress together even though there was a perfectly good air mattress right there, nooooo couldn't be us🚫). Then after years of weekends spent at each other's houses and family trips taken together, she begins talking to this guy.
I'm happy for her, it's great, neither of us have ever dated anyone(again GAY) so it'll be fun. Wrong. This is the exact moment I can see the first fissure in our...friendship. Then suddenly things break down RAPIDLY. I mean, I'm completely blindsided it was so fast.
Within the first month, I'm being phased out of the friend group and within two months we've gone no contact. I've destroyed friendship bracelets and old photos. I was, to put it lightly, gutted. I spent my senior year almost completely alone, it was probably the worst time of my life.
In those first few months, I thought the devastation I was feeling was due to the fact that I had just lost my best friend in a pretty vile way (because that last convo we had was not pleasant) but now that I've had a few years to recollect myself (and do some self-discovery: GAY🧡🤍🩷) I realize that those feelings I was experiencing were literal heartbreak.
I thought up until last week that I had made my peace with it, that I was gay and in love with her and the way it ended broke my heart and not hers and that's it, but now that I've come out and can discuss this whole situation with another friend (who witnessed all those years and says there was something more going on there) it's come to my attention that she is gay and maybe I did not read into it.
It's literally sending me into a spiral because I know I will probably never talk to her again which means I will never know for sure but like... come on. IDK, I know I rambled as fuck but this was basically a therapy session with myself.
If your read all this I'm assuming you probably experienced something similar so sorry if that's the case, it fucking sucks👎🏼, but it's okay it will pass (I hope, fuck this is just dredging it all up lmao).
Moral of the story: avoid homoerotic friendships with a ten-foot pole 🙅‍♀️and don't get on Bumble because you might see the first girl you ever loved on there💔. Okay bye, thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Never Been Better - Daniel LaRusso(1984)*
Requested by: @vanillabqrnes
Synopsis;
After Daniel wins the All Valley tournament, he and his girl celebrates by themselves after a quick meal with his mom and Mr Miyagi with a drive and a little extra on the side.
Tumblr media
Warnings: SMUT! Language.
Words: 2,461
Pairings: Daniel LaRusso (’84) x Reader (female)
(A/N: The requester had no specific plot in mind and so I went with what I thought worked best for the time being.)
(A/N 2: I swear my writing has gone way downhill since I’ve not really had any time to write so I’m so sorry if this is shit lmao.)
_______________
“I’m so proud of you,” you said to Daniel once more as you pecked his check.
He smiled all giddy and his cheeks heated up a fraction whilst his mother silently awed, and Mr. Miyagi watched his young student and his girlfriend with a small, proud smile of his own.
Daniel had been announced as the 1984 victor of the All Valley Tournament just an hour and half ago, entering as a newcomer to the tournament and sport and leaving as a first time champion with the three of the most important people within his life right by his side; his mother, Mr Miyagi and you.
“Hey, ma,” Daniel started as the four of you continued to eat up the food that you had all gone to enjoy after Daniel’s success in the tournament. “Could Y/N stay over, please?”
Lucille raised an eyebrow at her son yet couldn’t hide the sly smile that appeared on her face. “Depends, are you gonna be doing any funny business under my roof?”
“Ma,” Daniel groaned as his cheeks began to turn a deeper red, your head lowered to hide the fact that your own cheeks had began to heat up at Lucille’s words.
Lucille chuckled softly. “Fine. As long as you keep your hands to yourselves, and the door stays open at least three inches.”
“Thank ma,” Daniel spoke, still feeling slightly embarrassed by his mother’s words. He glanced outside for a moment before looking back over to his mother, almost shy and hesitant to ask of another thing. “Actually, could we, I dunno, meet you back at the apartment?”
Lucille raised her eyebrow at her son yet again, only in a questioning manner this time, wonder where her son was going with his words.
“I was, uh, kinda hoping that me and Y/N could take a drive.”
“Hmm, I don’t know,” she began, feigning that she was considering his words. Though, seeing the ever so slightly pleading look on Daniel’s face and the sliver of hope on your own, she couldn’t keep up her façade any longer and allowed her face to split with a wide smile. “Go on, get going. I’ll take Mr Miyagi home.”
Daniel beamed at his mother and wasted no time in taking a hold of your hand quickly in his own and pulling you to stand. “Thanks ma. Bye Mr Miyagi.”
And with that, he pulled you out of the diner, leaving no room for you to bid your own goodbyes, only managing to grin at them and wave your hand.
It was only a matter of seconds before you arrived at the yellow 1947 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible that Mr Miyagi had gifted Daniel, him opening up the passenger door and swiftly closing it after you before climbing into the drivers seat and turning on the engine, pulling out of the parking lot soon after.
You shook your head in amusement as Daniel seemed to shift and fidget excitedly in his seat as he drove. “Okay Mr LaRusso, care to finally tell me where you’re kidnapping me to?”
All he could do was grin and spare you a glance, his eyes quickly refocusing on the road before him. “You’ll see, be patient.”
A snort of laughter escaped you and you simply allowed him to keep his focus on the drive but now you couldn’t help but also shift in your seat from anticipation.
_______________
Daniel took small, cautious steps, well, more like limps, down the path a few feet from the yellow convertible with you by his side before slowly lowering himself down on to the soft ground, his face trying to without a miniature grimace at the pain still present in his leg.
You sat down beside him, looking at him with concern in your eyes. “How bad does it hurt?”
“Ah, it’s fine,” he spoke as he laid down on his back, opening his arm up to invite you to cuddle into his side, which you instantly accepted. “Just gotta be careful when putting pressure on it, y’know.”
He sighs contently as he feels you cuddle closer into his side, your arm lightly draped over his waist and head resting on his chest. Daniel tightens his arm around you and smiles as he feels you squeeze his waist in response to his hold.
“So, why’d ya bring me out here?” You raised your head from his chest, opting to replace it with just your chin as you gaze up at his face.
He turns his face down towards yours and could only smile brighter. “Is it so wrong for me to wanna spend some time alone with my girl?”
“Your girl, huh?” You tease and you feel his chest vibrate as he chuckles.
“Yeah, my girl.” He plants a kiss on your forehead and he melts at the sweet smile that forms on your face, the moonlight from above hitting your form and highlight every little thing he loves about you. “So, I’m definitely like the coolest guy you know now, right?”
You move your shoulders to mimic a shrug as best as you can in the position your body is in and allow your face to express nonchalance. “Not really, Mr Miyagi is definitely still the coolest guy I know.”
He narrows his eyes at you, those brown orbs looking at you with a hint of playfulness and mischief. “Oh really?” Before you could even blink, Daniel had moved you on to your back with him hovering above you, his hands on each side of your head, holding up his body.
You bit your lip softly with a small smile, playing into his act. “Definitely.”
He lowers his head so his lips barely graze against your own and he lowers his voice to a mere whisper. “I s’pose I could change your mind somehow.”
“Oh yeah?” You sultrily responded before raising your head to close the gap between the two of you, your lips meeting in a bruising kiss.
Your one hand travels up to grasp on to his dark locks and you moan into the kiss, the whole action heating up and deepening in mere moments.
Daniel, without breaking the hot and steamy kiss, manoeuvres himself carefully in between your legs, parting your thighs with his body and settling his hips against you own, grinding against your clothed cunt, forcing more low moans from the two of you.
He removes himself from your lips and lowers his head to assault your neck, allowing you to breath in and out deeply, your chest heaving and grazing against his. “Daniel,” you breathlessly whisper. He hums against your neck but makes no move to cease his kisses on the burning flesh of your neck. “Someone could see.”
Daniel finally detaches himself from your neck and kisses your lips once more, hard and passionately, him capturing your bottom lip between his teeth as he pulls away, deeply breathing himself. “I don’t care,” he rasped out, all whilst still rutting against you. One particular grind against you had you moaning louder than previous, your breath catching in your throat.
With all caution now being thrown to the wind by your own hands, you brought him back down to crash your lips against his as your hips moved to their own accord, meeting his own ruts against you and drawing a deep groan from him.
Releasing his hair, you bring your hand to in between your lusting bodies and push at his chest, forcing him back and on to his knees.
He watches with wide, lust blown eyes as you sit up following his body and hastily attack his belt and the buttons on his jeans, popping them open and dragging the zipper down with speed, followed by violently yanking his jeans down. Daniel, after a moment of continuing to watch, acted himself and attacked your own jean buttons and zipper.
Just as your eager hands were about to pull his boxers down, he caught your wrists in his hand and darted his tongue out to wet his lips. “Lie down, baby.”
Within an instant, you were right back to lying down and staring up at him. Daniel hooked his fingers in the waist band of your denim short and pulled them harshly down your legs, your hips raised to assist him.
He tossed them a short distance away to the side and a lustful grin overtook his features as he moved to lean back over you, his one hand going back to beside your head as the other drags along the skin and flesh of the inside of your thighs leaving a path of goosebumps in its wake, trailing up closer and closer until he finally cups your heated, slick cunt in his hand.
You whine as his hand barely moves against your arousal and he chuckles shortly. “C’mon, we don’t exactly have time to mess about Daniel.”
“Hey, hey, hey,” he starts, slowly pushing your underwear to the side and running a finger tantalisingly slow between your folds, ever so slightly teasing your clit. “We aren’t in any rush, baby.”
He leans down, kissing you deeply and you can’t help but sigh against his lips as he finally pushed one finger inside of you, slowly withdrawing it and sliding it back in all the same.
Daniel continues to work his finger in and out of you, curling it upwards and constantly grazing it against the ridged walls of your cunt, drawing breathy moans out of you. His lips work on your neck once more as he does, your eyes closed and enjoying the feeling of him working you with such touches, an even lengthier moan escaping you when he adds a second finger into your dripping heat.
His touches were sweet and pleasurable but left you unsatisfied, your want for more overwhelming and leaving you squirming and whining. “Daniel, please.” Daniel raised his head from your neck and looked down at you where your eyes were now opened and looking up at him with a sort of desperation.
He stilled his fingers and leaned in closer to you, his fingers ghosting over your lips as you whine at the lack of movement. “Tell me what you want, baby.”
“You know what I want, Danny,” you whined, moving your hips in an attempt to gain some friction and soothe the ache settling between your legs.
A small smirk danced across his lips as he removed his fingers from your hole slowly to which you whimpered at in response, your pussy clenching around nothing but air. “C’mon baby, just tell me what you want.”
“I want you, Danny,” you started in a whinny, needy tone. “I want you in me.”
He smiled down at you and gave a sweet, slow, sensual kiss to your lips before adjusting himself slightly once more, the hand that had been teasing you relentlessly moving to his boxers and pushing them down his thighs just like his jeans, exposing his hardened dick.
Daniel hissed as the chilled night air hit his length but moved forward and lined himself up at your entrance. Slowly, he pushed in, your warmth inviting and soon, he was deep inside you, bottoming out and causing the both of you to moan out.
Looking up at you, he waited until you gave a small nod, to which he started to slowly pull his hips back, his cock dragging deliciously against your walls before pushing back in.
Each thrust made you release a wantonness moan which spurred him on to fasten his pace, his hips meeting yours with a force, your breathing along with his picking up whilst at it.
“I- Fuck. I love you. God, I love you,” he lowly spoke as he continued to thrust his dick in and out of your soaked cunt.
Your eyes locked with his, teary and dazed. “I love you, too,” you whispered breathlessly, a moan following after, your back arching off the ground slightly, your hands coming up to grip his biceps.
Daniel leaned down once more, capturing your lips with a heated kiss once more, passion and love filling each second they stayed connected and he picked up his pace again, feeling his release inch closer and closer, the clenching spasm of your walls around his cock showing your were just as close as he.
“More,” you moaned to him, your eyes closed in pleasure and Daniel complied as best he could, trying to keep his thrusts even as he brought his hand back down to rub vicious circles around your clit.
“C’mon baby. So close, good girl, c’mon” he praised breathlessly. “Let go f’ me, baby.”
With his encouragement, his pounding thrusts and assault on your clit, you couldn’t hold off on your orgasm any longer and released within an instant accompanied by a long, drawn out, pornographic moan.
Your leg slightly twitched and your walls continued to clench around his cock thrusting in and out of you at a quick pace. The sensation entrancing him, his thrusts now uneven and erratic, now chasing his own release.
As he teetered on the edge of his orgasm, his moans became more prominent, low and deep, resembling growls and with a few final thrusts, he pulled himself out of you with much dismay and came across the expanse of your smooth thighs.
The muscle in his legs flexed as cum spurted from the head of his cock and landed on your flesh.
Once his climax passed, he was left a panting, sweating mess, and he rested his forehead against your own heaving chest, his eyes closed whilst he calmed himself down.
“Are you okay?” You whispered as a handful of quiet moments passed, your hands combing through his sweaty locks soft and slowly, bringing him back out of his tired trance and drawing his head up from his chest to open his eyes and look up into your own.
He sent you the sweetest, tired smile and moved his head back up near your own, now looking down at you with adoring eyes. “Never been better,” he answered honestly as he brought his hand up to brush your hair behind your ear before settling it against your cheek his palm warm and soothing, his thumb gently brushing against the apple of your cheek.
Daniel leant forward and kissed your lips, a sigh of happiness leaving you both simultaneously. If he could, he’d stay within this moment with you for eternity. The two of you, together, happy and content, nothing disturbing the peaceful serenity surrounding you both.
And so, he stayed like that with you in that moment, just a little longer, ignoring the possibility that someone would come along to find you both looking in such a way.
Just for a moment longer.
