ALONDRA I’M SCREAMING!!! NONVIOLENT COMMUNICATION PART 12 IS JUST-THE PLOT HERE??!! READER STAYING WITH MIGUEL??!! I LOVE THIS PART!!!! and before I get into this I might (no I did 😭) have written so much and I tried to brake it into separate parts but theres so many scenes I love and needed to discuss!! Have to start with Peter though… every time he’s included I’m like yes Peter’s here!! But then i get emotional too 🥺 you get me every time!! These small flashbacks provide so much to say about how he was, such a loving person 🥺 And when reader dreams of Peter, only for him to wake her up, almost like warning her from the fire 😭 he’s watching over her!!!!, the way Peter still has such a huge impact on the story is a huge testament to how important is really was, really is!! Ok this line is towards the end but this right here!: "You turn to the sky, thinking that if it wasn’t for him, you wouldn’t be here now. Even in death, Peter has guided and supported you throughout the years." 😭😭 I love Peter!! I just- this was beautifully written.

And when reader was clearing out everyone from the building I was on edge!! I felt the sense of urgency as the scene played out and when the flames break out I swear- freaking out, only to find the juxtaposition of the next scene being Miguel sleeping peacefully with readers sweatshirt??!! 😭 AND THEN I FREAKED OUT WHEN HE SENSES SOMETHING IS WRONG, ALREADY KNOWING ITS READER Alondra, you really did it, THE PARALLELS AGAIN??!! And Miguel being so concerned the whole time while reader is still evacuating everyone from the building- retracting and extracting his talons because of the stress 😭 you know it’s crazy that you even hinted in the previous parts that this would happen because I remember reading the New Years’s one-shot when reader was overhearing two people discussing not leaving their holiday lights on and the landlord saying not to leave the lights on- still not over your ability to plant ideas like this throughout your story, how do you manage all these ideas??!! Also, I was worried that readers apartment would be damaged but I’m glad she was able to get important items like Peter vinyls and photos!! (with the rest of her things later) But the fact she just redecorated it too 😭 I’m actually really sad that this happened to her apartment, as I’ve imagined it so vividly in my mind and the memories she’s had there with Peter… 😭

Okay but when Miguel suddenly shows up and IMMEDIATELY offers reader to stay at his place??!! THIS. MAN. Alondra!!! I can’t, he’s so caring for reader 🥺 he is so concerned for her well being and seeing if she was injured in any way- and when he says he just sensed her being in danger. I swear, this special connection they have just makes their whole friendship (and future relationship 🤭) so much more interesting and AHHH loved this aspect sm when you first introduced it! (Especially with the fact Miguel doesn’t even have spider senses!) and will continue to love it and see just how this connection shows between them! AND THE FACT MIGUEL IS NO LONGER AFRAID OF IT AND ACTUALLY EMBRACES IT AFTER SOME TIME!?!? no omg and when Miguel compliments reader and tells her she’s amazing, got me blushing too 🤭 but the fact it also reminded her of when Peter said the same thing??!! (With Miguel thinking he may have said something wrong when reader gets sentimental about Peter 😭) Alondra, you’re hitting me right in heart with these parallels between Peter and Miguel 😭

Okay… Alondra, I swear how long have you been planning this idea for reader to stay in Miguel’s apartment because I wasn’t expecting this and AHHHHH!!!!! SCREAMING!!!!! Okay I knew reader would have an influence in Miguel’s apartment now that he’s actually there more and adding personal touches, like the record player and her sweatshirt but the fact SHE HERSELF is there now??!! 😭 the fact Miguel was so adamant on reader staying as long as she needed to!! reader is also so caring for Miguel in this moment too, wanting to make sure he is really okay with it. I have to mention just how proud I feel of Miguel too, his character development in this story- I love seeing his caring side as he opens up with reader 🥺 (he’s always been this way, reader just brings it out the best in him!!)! omg the way Miguel wanted to help reader with the rest of her furniture and asking if she packed up some clothes for a few nights at least for a few changes AND makes sure reader is the one who holds Peter’s record player 😭 I love him!!!

This line right here: "He’s especially caught up in the words you said just now - how you don’t want to disturb his peace and space - and thinks to himself about how this penthouse only truly feels peaceful and homey when you’re here." 🥺 it still makes me so sad how lonely Miguel was after losing so many loved ones, reader has brought him so much peace in his life. I just- I started tearing up here, and I always say it but their friendship is just so special, one that you only hope to have really 😭

OK WHEN MIGUEL TRAILS OFF IN SAYING READER COULD STAY DAYS, WEEKS, MONTHS, implying YEARS??!! ALONDRA- SCREAMING!!! Ok right here: In fact, Miguel realizes right now that he’d be perfectly happy with it, which makes his cheeks feel hot. He clears his throat gently. “What I’m trying to say is that - My home is your home,” AHHHHHH!!!!!! I can’t!!!! THIS MAN!! I’M GONNA KEEP SAYING IT!!! I LOVE HIM!!! He’s just so loving, I mean, the fact he doesn’t want reader to worry about anything of the sort- WHY IS’NT HE REAL??!! 😭 but yes at the same time reader would absolutely do the same for him too (ok we all would 😭) but they both- these two I love them sm!!!

And I have to mention this little moment with Lyla when Miguel is cooking breakfast and he says “Hm, didn’t know she had that term in her vocabulary,” when Lyla says reader to please rest and Lyla mentioning she only uses that word for special members 😂 omg the way Miguel thought about the top five members and the fact spider-plushie might be up there 😭 Will never not bring up how much I love how you write Lyla’s quips and their banter!!

AND EVERY TIME Miguel cooks for reader now, it brings him so much joy 🥺😭 HE. LOVES. HER. i mean, AHHHH!!! I’m here in my room screaming!!! I mean right here!!: "His face softens at the sight, and he’s suddenly overwhelmed with a feeling he’s had ever since you first stepped foot into his home this morning, and one that has stayed with him. He feels the need to stay here with you, to work from home so he can keep an eye out for you while you rest. He doesn’t want to tell you this though." WHEN HE SAYS SAYS HIS HOME IS HER HOME??!! AND WHEN HE USES WE WHEN SORTING THINGS OUT FOR READER??!! When reader tells Miguel just how thankful she is for him AND ok I’m not joking when I say I cried when reader mentioned how she could hug him, this made me so sad because they respect their boundaries so much. When Miguel thinks about if they actually tried They are- okay I need to calm down here because I just love them!! If not for Miguel helping reader now her circumstances would be quite different, and vice versa. Their mutual understanding, genuine care, and respect they have for one another, it’s just beautiful. It’s things like this which make me love your story!! Ok I have to just highlight this part: “Dios,” Miguel whispers as he stares down at his hands. He can feel a tingling, almost as if his own hands are asking - begging - him to go and feel. I can’t imagine holding back on physical touch for so long after so much loss, to feel comfort physically, the warmth it brings 🥺 when he checks in or reader sleeping, I just know the look on his face was so full of care and love for her, a softness that he has just for her 🥺 and when his index finger reaches for readers cheek and pulls away, because he has so much respect and is just a gentleman I just-

And when the gang is so concerned for reader as well 🥺 I love how reader has truly found a group that truly cares about her and wants to support her!! Such a contrast to the years before, I’m just so happy for reader!! And when Jess and Peter B. already knew what Miguel would ask them and tells him to go and check on her😭 WITH THE KNOWING LOOK THEY GIVE EACH OTHER?! Ok in the gang, I wonder if all of them just talk about Miguel and reader’s friendship? like, you know they know 😭

When reader wakes up and hears billie holiday’s “blue moon” play on Miguel’s record player 😭 and she feels embarrassed when she remembers what she told him- and he feels a rush of ternura rush through him 😭 and when he actually talks about physical touch with her and is trying 🥺 SO MUCH PROGRESS ok ok and let me calm down because… WHEN MIGUEL INTENTIONALLY WRAPS HIS PINKY AROUND READER’S, INTENTIONALLY??!! No loopholes anymore!!! I’M SCREAMING!!! CRYING!!! THE ENERGY WE HAVE HERE??!! THIS WHOLE MOMENT, AS HE SLOWLY MOVES CLOSER, HIS EYES ASKING IF IT’S OKAY??!! This moment- A HUGE MILESTONE!!! And you know the size difference… totally normal about it (no I’m not) the way I took my own pinkies and tried to recreate this as it was written 😭 THE WAY THE TIP OF HIS FINGER IS ENOUGH TO WRAP AROUNDS YOURS??!! I’m fine, I’m fine 😭 AND HIM BLUSHING??!!-indirectly calling himself her friend 😭 I have to stop or else i’ll never finish typing!!! But the spider o’s reference!!! thank you for tagging me and including this little detail in!!! 🥺 I got so excited reading that!!! i’m just so happy these little ideas get put into your writing!! Thank you!!!

Ok when they were investigating the fire in reader’s apartment, I can’t help but wonder with the name of the tag being “OBRN” on the wire, and that this will lead to something more in the future- the name that popped for me was Norman Osborn with the letters being very close to his last name but I’m still thinking- I’m suspicious 🤔

I’m just so happy that reader got settled into Gabriels room quickly, having all her things laid out and making that room feel like hers 🥺 and the pictures displayed on the floating shelves, some with Miguel in them 😭 ok and the fact Miguel planned out a little rooftop dinner after she comes back from her patrols in her universe 😭 and of course he orders a few of each and didn’t want to disturb reader on her patrol and surprise her with this because it’s him, and he loves her!!! 🥺 and the fact he got tacos because being in Gabriels old room reminded him what his brother used to say about tacos (and agree, tacos can cheer anyone up!!) and their whole conversation about reader having the gang and him to help and support her, (their friends, their little family 🥺) with Miguel even thinking back to her time alone, wondering about things like if she ever gotten sick and that there was no one there to comfort her 😭 I keep saying it but I feel they were destined for one another, and it makes me so sad seeing Miguel think about wanting find her universe sooner. But when reader said she wanted to negotiate some terms, and Miguel not wanting her to worry about anything like paying rent or buying groceries 🥺 also, I have to mention how realistic you made this conversation, and bringing forth that communication like this is so important!!! They’re so cute, I can’t!!! Their whole relationship is rooted in so much deep understanding and care for one another’s wellbeing!!!!! AHHHH!!!! I CANT BELIEVE WE’RE STAYING AT MIGUELS PLACE WHAT??!!

I always sound like a broken record when saying this but THANK YOU AGAIN FOR WRITING SUCH AN AMAZING PART TO NONVIOLENT COMMUNICATION!!! I always freak out when I see the next part posted, and I’m still so happy you took the time to take a break from social media and writing!!! Hii @sunsetdoodler !!! I want to start off by saying I’m sorry for how long it took me to answer your ask!! I got caught up with some things like cleaning up, family events, and reading a new book that came out last week. I also wanted to make sure my response was not rushed with everything going on, so I took my time. I’m going to try and keep it short because I know you’re so busy with school right now (mission failed successfully, I'm sorry!!), but I'M SO HAPPY YOU LOVED THIS CHAPTER!!!

I love that you still enjoy all the little parts that include Peter!!! I love including them every single time!! It's actually amazing because I swear I thought that at some point I'd stop including him or mentioning him this much, but here we are! 🥺 I find myself thinking about him and little details (like, little bits of his and reader's lives. I don’t know why I make myself sad with that 😭) and coming up with ways to include him more, even if it's just a little mention, but it really does add more to his story and he just continues to develop as a character!! 😭 I never imagined that would happen, but I’m so happy to be able to include him!! And omg, this quote: “You turn to the sky, thinking that if it wasn’t for him, you wouldn’t be here now. Even in death, Peter has guided and supported you throughout the years." Let me tell you!! When I wrote that, I was trying so hard not to get emotional but failed!! 😭 It really is so amazing to have the opportunity to include Peter, even if he’s gone, and see how much impact he still has in the story and in reader’s life, so you're absolutely right!! The fact that he's still playing a role in the fic, shows how important Peter is, and will continue to be!! About the dream - I was inspired by @faretheeoscar to include that portion as a hint/nod for future purposes, but yes, Peter was warning her about the fire - he’s just so!! 🥹 I truly loved including him here and talking about him smiling, his scent, and his warmth - ugh, I miss him so much (and he’s not real, why?)!! He really won our hearts!! 🥺❤️

I’m so happy that the evacuation scene and the flames jumping out had you feeling on edge, hehe!! That's the energy I was hoping to achieve! I've said it before with Miguel's own action scene in part 8 - I don't feel confident with these scenes. I personally believe that I need more improvement with action scenes (especially for future writing goals outside of fanfiction, I'll talk more about this later on in my response), but I felt more confident with this one as I had part 8 under my wing! But no, I'm really happy you felt the sense of urgency and feeling on edge - I can say “mission accomplished!” Okay when the flames break out and then it cuts to Miguel sleeping peacefully with reader's sweatshirt but waking up and sensing something is wrong, his heart telling him it's about you and finding out it is - I've been waiting to include this parallel since part 8 with reader sensing Miguel's trouble!! 🤭 I had it planned since then and I’ve been dying to include it!! Miguel's talons extracting and retracting while he keeps an eye on reader - it's my headcannon that he does this unconsciously when he's under a lot of stress or anxiety, and I decided to include it here as a sign of how much Miguel cares for reader and how worried he was!! About the hinting of the short circuit - once I made up my mind about writing the one-shots, I realized they were the perfect way for me to drop some hints about it so that it could save me from having to figure out how to put those hints in part 12. Plus, it was so nice to leave hints there and then have you guys realize (if you read the one shots) that those possibly unimportant details turned out to be important!! I was plotting! 😂 As to how I manage the ideas, I have a piece of paper (all my notes and chapter outlines are always on paper; I like the feeling of paper and a pen) where I write interconnecting ideas so I don't forget them (though sometimes I do forget to write them, so I just keep them in my head and hope I don't forget it)!! About reader's apartment - it never crossed my mind to have it become damaged!! I'm going to be honest, it's a fictional apartment, but I'm very attached to it 😭 I think it's because it's where so much with Peter happened. Also, I think reader would be so devastated to lose one of the few physical objects/spaces linking her to Peter, if that makes sense. I think she loves this apartment for what it is, even if it's a little older and rundown in some areas, she finds its flaws charming, so that aspect alone would make her very sad, but to lose a space in which she shared and lived so much with Peter would be devastating and I couldn’t have reader go through this when things are going so well for the first time in many years. I didn’t and don't want to take this away from her, even if she'd gain some growth from it. I just - I refuse! 🥺 As to reader saving Peter’s belongings, this made the most sense to me!! I just imagined in this situation, nothing else would matter to me but preserving those items!!! Also, I'm sorry for making you sad about reader’s apartment and the fire 😭 I promise her floor is okay!! The fire didn't reach it and the building isn't falling apart (I have no plans for that to happen either!). The worst is the smoke smell but according to some small research, most of the things should be okay once the apartment is aired out (this was one single Google search, so I could be wrong, but I'll be searching further to confirm. It's really funny the things I had to research for this chapter though! I learned of the many ways an electrical fire can start; how to overload a circuit; how smoke moves through a room; when fire alarms were invented and required in buildings; how long people have to be prohibited from entering the building; what if it was arson and the rebuilding/reconstructing; and even the position reader used to drag the firefighter out! My Google search was weird for a few days lol) but don't worry!! Her apartment is otherwise fine!! She might have to replace a few items but at least the most sentimental items are safe!

Okay - Miguel showing up and immediately offering his place and checking reader to make sure she's not injured!!!! I LOVED writing this part!! It was a moment in which Miguel could finally express everything that he was feeling and show his support after standing by and letting you do your thing at your request!! Miguel admitting that he woke up because he sensed the danger, can we talk about how he even admitted this? I think the Miguel of the past would've been afraid to admit this but he did it 🥺 but I love this concept as well!! I think it's so interesting, too, because of the fact that Miguel doesn't have a spidey sense and yet, Miguel sensed this situation because of this connection between him and reader. It really is a special bond, and AHH I'm so happy that Miguel has embraced it much more. He's not as fearful of it as he used to, which is just another sign that Miguel is moving forward, and more open to being close with someone. 😭 I'm also very excited to explore how this connection develops and shows in their friendship and their relationship later on!! 🤭 Ok and Miguel complimenting reader!!!!! I was like - let me add this right here (this was such a treat 🤭) because I need Miguel to show his admiration for reader! I also wanted to give a little nod to Peter and how supportive he was of reader all the time 😭, and of course, make the parallel that Miguel is supportive as well!!! Also, Miguel worrying about offending her and questioning if he said or did something wrong (I was like “you did nothing wrong!!”) - and apologizing !!!! He's just so!!!! HE’S SO CUTE AND THOUGHTFUL AND !!! But then him saying he’s sorry that Peter isn't there with her - the way they care for each other so much!! This little part had me emotional fr!!! And I'm sorry about hitting you right in the heart with the parallels!! I'll go ahead and apologize for any other future parallels because 😭😭

Regarding how long I've been planning this idea for - let's just say, a while and I've been ready for it 🤭 but omg, yes!! The way reader has had a bit of an influence/presence in Miguel's penthouse and now she's there!! I'm not gonna say anything else about this, but I've left some clues in previous parts regarding this topic!! 👀 and Miguel being so adamant about reader staying there!! He really wants reader to be comfortable and safe, even if he knows she can take care of herself but this man just cares so much about her that he can’t help but worry because he’s just a big softie!! 😭 and then when he indirectly says that he’s offering his place because “you know what we are” - every time I write this I scream internally, I swear- but he’s trying so hard to say that they’re friends, and this is what friends do!! Miguel just wants to be there and support reader however he can!!! And reader, as always, trying to make sure that he's comfortable with this!! They really do have so much respect and care for each other!! 😭 I'm so proud of Miguel, too!! He’s really opened up so much and has allowed reader to see this sweet, caring, and soft side of him (because yes, he's always been like this, he's only being through so much that he's being hiding it 😭)- I’m so so proud of him!! Ok, and Miguel asking reader about packing clothes - you know Miguel noticed reader hadn't packed that stuff, so this was a gentle reminder for reader because he cares about her well-being. Also, the fact that he had reader hold Peter's record player!!! He knows how important it is to reader and he never wants to mess with it!! He's so understanding and respectful !!!!!

The line "He’s especially caught up in the words you said just now - how you don’t want to disturb his peace and space - and thinks to himself about how this penthouse only truly feels peaceful and homey when you’re here." The way I was so sad writing this line and really, the entire part of him talking about his "lonely peace" - like why did I do that to myself? 😭 I was just hurting myself imagining a lonely Miguel in this big place that used to feel like home because of Gabriel, and even because of his mom, whilst also comparing the home he had settled into at Gabriella’s universe - and now only having this place that feels so big and empty, so cold and void of loved ones - it makes me so so sad but I feel happier when I remember that he has new happy memories attached to this place now. He has the old memories with Gabriel and his mom, ones that in my head, he has been blocking because they’re too painful, but little by little, he’s been "unlocking" them again. There's also the moments with reader and the Thanksgiving dinner with everyone. And... I can't give spoilers, but he will make many more happy memories that will make his penthouse feel like a home !!🥹❤️

OK MIGUEL REALIZING HE'D BE "PERFECTLY HAPPY" WITH READER STAYING WITH HIM FOR YEARS, BASICALLY LIVING WITH HIM INDEFINITELY- no, it's like SHSSJHAH the fact he's open to the idea?!?!?!?! Almost makes me wish they somehow became roommates fr, but I don't see reader leaving her apartment (again, she’s so attached to it, I just don’t see her giving it up right now), and also, for some reason, I've always imagined her apartment being a one bedroom apartment, so Miguel can't move in (unless I changed my mind about that? I’m thinking here but- I don’t know), but ahhh, imagine them being roommates!! This would be so cute, I can’t!! Also, the way he says his home is her home - I'm not even joking when I say that I screamed, blushed, and giggled and kicked my feet when writing that line every time he said it because you know he MEANT it!!!!! His home is her home, period and now I want to cry but they’re happy tears, of course!! And then him not wanting reader to worry about anything else!! I just - THIS MAN, WHY IS HE NOT REAL?!!! And yes, omg, the way we would all do the same for Miguel if this happened to him!! You know it's true!!! We wouldn’t even debate it, it’s done, he can stay at our place for however he needs to if he feels comfortable with us!! Hahaha the "in conclusion: we're getting married" meme - REAL!!! Like, he's so sweet and caring, and I’d MARRY him!!!!

Haha, the short scene with Lyla when Miguel is cooking breakfast was so short but so fun to write!! Their little banter always makes my day when I get to include her! I told you, I was going to try to do it more and this was such a good time to do it and lighten up the mood after the fire scene. I loved Miguel's response tho and him wondering about the other top five members (spider-plushie is definitely top 5 for Lyla!!!) And even having guesses, haha!!! Maybe those guesses are his own preferences? Reader would def be #1 and we also have to include Lego Spider-Man somewhere in there, I think. The other spots could be his guesses? Maybe? 🤔🤣 but thank you!! I'm so happy you enjoy their little banter and Lyla's lines, haha!!

Every time I write Miguel cooking for reader is just - 🥺🥺 HE REALLY DOES LOVE HER!!! I swear, I never thought that I was going to have this scenario repeat so many times after the first chapter when he cooked pasta for her, but here we are because this is a way for Miguel to express his feelings - and yes, I get so emotional about it!!! Also, Miguel wanting to stay home to look after reader - having this need from the beginning 😭 this was my way of hinting back to part 11, I think (or was it in one of the one-shots? I can’t remember), when reader reflects on the fact that Miguel has made progress regarding his sleep with going home and resting and taking breaks but acknowledging he still goes to HQ on the weekends and that she doubts he’ll stop any time soon unless there’s a big, important reason or some big change in his life… and then, this happens! Miguel stays home on a week day for HER!!!! And the way he didn’t even want to be gone for that one hour but he did it because he knew reader wouldn’t want to “disturb” his schedule, or avoid sleep and work with him from his penthouse - I’m okay, really, I’m just fangirling about this little point because AHH!! And omg, I loved having Miguel say “we” when he was talking about sorting things out!! Again, the CARING!!! Miguel wholeheartedly loves and cares for reader so much!!! And the moment when reader admits for the first time she wishes she could hug Miguel !!! I loved this part because I felt like it was a realistic moment, having someone that’s so exhausted in many ways (mentally, physically, and emotionally) and just being unable to filter your words the way you normally would but it being such a genuine and pure wish!! The fact that reader’s situation would’ve been so so different without Miguel and the Spider Society - the thought alone makes me so sad, but I’m so happy reader has Miguel and the gang (and that Miguel has them, too!!)!! I’m just so happy they have each other and that they have changed each other lives so much!! 🥹 And then Miguel feeling like his hands are begging him to go feel - I got myself with that one!! You already know that I believe Miguel’s primary love language is physical touch, so just imagining how long it has been for Miguel without it, and continuing to hold back because of his loss but still yearning for that feeling, for the warmth and the comfort not only in receiving but also giving - I’m unwell 😭😭 but it’s so amazing that Miguel is now thinking about it, yearning for it so much more to the point he would’ve probably initiated or offered physical touch if he had found reader awake!! She has this amazing support system that’s always there for her!!! And omg, Jess and Peter B. knowing what Miguel was going to ask - you know they could sense and see it in Miguel’s face - this man wanted to be back home ASAP!! And, of course, they know how close Miguel and reader are so they just wanted reader to have someone there with her during this hard moment. And the knowing look between Jess and Peter B. - they know!! As to the whole gang and whether they talk about Miguel and reader’s friendship - I want to say, yes, they do!! I want to say some of the gang members see it for what it is right now - a friendship, but the others… they see something more and probably won’t be surprised once Miguel and reader… you know!! 🤭

Omg that entire part from the moment that reader woke up to find Billie Holiday playing to the pinky squeeze - SO MUCH PROGRESS!!!I l loved this entire scene so much!! The way that reader apologizes for what she said, feeling so much embarrassment and worry from possibly making Miguel uncomfortable but Miguel feeling ternura and telling reader that he’s honored she wants to embrace him - to touch him!!!! THEM!! 🥺 The fact that Miguel actually talks about physical touch - making it the first time he’s ever addressed it - I’m so proud of Miguel!!! And not only does he take this step forward - which, once again, I felt like this was such a big step for him - but, he also initiates physical touch without loopholes!!! The fact that he asks for permission - I can’t!!! Once again, he’s A GENTLEMAN!!!!! THE SIZE DIFFERENCE!!!!!!!!! I’m perfectly normal about it (no, I’m not 😭😭)!! Omg you recreating it with your own pinkies is literally me!!! Every time I’ve written a pinky squeeze, I always pause my writing to try it out and just imagine what it would be like (why is he not real?)!!! Reader getting settled into Gabriel’s room and making it feel more like hers - and Miguel encouraging it - I’m gonna cry!! I think she’s going to make it more hers in the following weeks, but we’ll see!! Okay and this amazing moment (the way this one scene was my motivation to get through the fire scene because as I’ve mentioned, I’m not too confident with action scenes) with Miguel getting tacos and agua de horchata and planning that little rooftop dinner!! I’m just gonna say it - I would marry Miguel right on the spot, not even joking!!! I’d ask for his hand in marriage so fast!!! 🤭🥺 But yes, the way he didn’t want to disturb her and also wanted to surprise her, so he ended up buying of each kind of taco!! Again, I would marry this man right there and then!! He really does love her!! Also, the little bit of Gabriel saying tacos cheer everyone up was a spur of a moment idea and I’m so happy with it!!! It’s not much, but I really do love the little character building I’ve given Gabriel in this fic, and I hope to do the same for Gabriella in future chapters because of how much they mean to Miguel!! 🥺❤️ But back to the tacos (I want some now fr), I do wholeheartedly believe tacos can cheer anyone up and it sounds like such a Gabriel thing to say, too (at least in my fic!)!! But then, there’s reader and how independent she is, and also not wanting to make this situation uncomfortable for Miguel or make it seem like she’s taking advantage of the situation!! Then, back to Miguel understanding reader so much he knows she doesn’t want to not do something, so it really just shows how much they care for each other, and how much understanding there is between them!! Also, I know I’m the writer but I can’t believe we’re staying AT MIGUEL’S PLACE, too!!!

I think that was the first time I wrote a story) and I dreamed about becoming a writer but essentially went into another career that was “safer.” Anyway, I do have a few original works, most are incomplete because I always get a new idea and I start writing that, lol. But the one I’m most proud of, in terms of it being an original everything story (Nonviolent Communication is my pride and it holds such a special place in my heart; this story is my baby, I swear!!), is a fantasy genre story that I hope to write into three parts. It’s this story that will require me to improve my action scenes since there’s kingdoms and battles, and all of that stuff. So yeah, I do need some improvement for this story but so far, I’m really proud of my original characters and the worldbuilding I’ve done!! I truly hope to one day finish it and hopefully publish it. Hello 🛸 Anonie!! I'm super sorry for the super late response T-T I have already addressed it in one post, but I have been super busy filling and paying for my next year (banks are truly my no. 1 public enemy,,,), a few trips back and forth to see friends (I stayed in a place with minimal internet signal for more than a week TnT, among other trips) and doing a lot of house chores because all my household members except for me are working, so I clean all the house (which I don't mind, but there's a lot of work and too much heat T.T and I end up in my bed after everything lol).

I do main Noelle! I went to see my stats and realized I have to get her a better crit rate percentage because she does so much crit dmg... I use 4p Husk of Opulent Dreams + Prototype Archaic (I have seen guides saying that Whiteblind is better, so I might sacrifice my lvl. 90 Prototype Archaic for Whiteblind and change one piece of my artifacts so it has better rate,, choices choices) I will add images below cut!!

To preface this, I am not a meta player so take my opinions with a grain of salt lolol

So much dmg,, so little rate,,,,,,, I usually take whatever piece to add that element dmg, in this case Gladiator.

My favorite region is def Mondstadt, but Sumeru is my second one!! I like all the character dynamics and exploration in Sumeru, both rainforest and desert (unpopular opinion, it seems (≧∇≦)/) also the lore?? Absolutely fantastic. And Sethos? He has been incorporated to the fave characters very quickly, I loved his interactions with Cyno and whatever he has going on with Wanderer lolol Like wise, I loved Gaming, such a cutie and honestly a real good guy, he became one of my favorites very soon.

I ended up making a ranking with only four stars (as to make it fair), but only lore/storytelling wise, since meta is dead anyways (/j) and how hoyo managed their reveal and relevance (?) I think seeing the rankings will explain mostly everything but if you have any questions please feel free to ask!!

(I want to say that I like all the characters, I am a person who finds it east to love characters lol)

Good morning, Zak! Fairytales are usually read at night before bed but oh well sometimes you gotta break tradition.

So first off, you really nailed that fairytale feel of the first few paragraohs and I adore it so much!! It's not just adding "once upon a time", the enture beginning feels like I could find it written a book of old fairytales somewhere.

and YEEEAA i rlly wanted to parallel their experiences cuz when i read looming nightmare, i was also looking for that like...clearer didactic framing of what they both went thru cuz it was all there! but since mc's story in the card only gets mentioned towards the end, it didnt get much time to shine.

(sidenote: this fic is actually gonna be me writing a bunch of what i wish we got to hear from mc in that story. as much as i love luke (i do, you all know i do So Much) among the many qualms i had with the card is that mc is a focal point in the plot but also so incredibly absent. we dont even hear (or rather, read) her speak.

oh vampire, a dear OG in the game’s history. he may not be the most emotionally complex or lore-heavy character, but he’s still a little skrunkly to many a player. i think what i like most about him is what fans have made him into. in the games, hes honestly just??? a guy. hes just a dude who loves his juice and annoys his tryhard sister. i like that he’s so simple, and i also like that like... the fact that he’s a vampire isnt really a HUGE impacting factor on who he is as a person. like hes lazy and apathetic and lowkey an alcoholic that JUST SO HAPPENS to also be a vampire. i think thats really funny.

dark enchantress is a special case. like, deep down i know i have a lot of thoughts about her, but those thoughts are still kinda coalescing into introspection of who she is.

i cant help but feel like a lot of people interpret her wrong. DE isnt a wholly evil and morally bankrupt character (at least in kingdom, that is. ovenbreak is a bit of a different story bc of the context/lack thereof) and im tired of people treating her like she is!!!!!!!! shes probably like one of the deepest fucking characters in the game and grrr i wanna tear her apart and study her in a lab. i want to put her in a maze with cheese at the end of it. i want to put a little brainwave sensor on her head and show her a selection of varying photographs and ask her what she thinks of each of them.

i just.... god every story update i hope and pray that she has a part to play in it. seriously the vanilla kingdom chapters are my fucking favorite because we learn so much about her in so little time. shes NOT this completely and utterly evil being just like white lily was not a wholly good and angelic figure. they both had their flaws but white lily when white lily was rebaked the flaws that she had were just amplified tenfold. or at least thats my theory on what happened there. DEs motivations are directly derived from those that she had as white lily, those being a desire to help cookie kind. its that whole right desire wrong reasons shpeal you always see.

okay but the one thing about her is why exactly is she waging war on cookies to “save cookies”????????? i dont exactly get the reasoning behind that. like i know she wants to rebuild the world in her image but i guess i dont quite get how that connects to her wanting to spread the truth about cookies. my only theory is that shes mad at the ignorance of cookiekind and that she wants everyone up in arms over the witches just like she is, but i still dont see why shes actively killing cookies to achieve this goal??? idk maybe i need to read into it more lol

quick mention i dont have much to add on to this but has anyone else noticed the design parallels she has with millennial tree? ok its mostly about the horns and the clothes but still im jus sayin fam

thanks for sending me this at 2am bc its what made me actually put my phone away and go to bed lol. anyway im writing a serious answer for u even tho i would think anyone who follows me already knows everything about sk8 . ur welcome

5. great production: the colors are fun and inspiring, the animation is consistently good quality and dynamic, the art style is nice, the character designs are unique and recognizable, the voice acting is definitely top tier, the ost is good. studio bones did a great job

4. its.. well. its definitely not boring. theres so many characters and 50 different subplots and the episodes are super fast paced. personally i hate slow paced anime so this is important to me. the episodes go by really fast because so much is happening all the time

3. attention to detail: the characters feel very fleshed out because of all the little details we see from their lives. for example we see reki and langa at school, at work, and hanging out on their days off, not just when theyre doing crazy sports anime shit. we meet their families and get to know about the lives of the supporting characters as well. overall it feels very real due to how thoroughly their lives in okinawa have been developed. basically we get to see more than just their skateboarding lives

2. its genuinely funny and really cute!

1. the characters and their relationships, specifically loves my life apples of my eye my everythings reki and langa. this is related to #3 because the characters of sk8 really shine because of how thoroughly therye written. but to be more specific reki is such a unique sports protagonist and hes much more relatable (ive written abt this before lol). im telling you the emotional conflict between him and langa feels so real i was honestly surprised how much it impacted me. i can genuinely say its really good writing. reki and langas relationship is so heartwarming and you really feel how much they love each other (but yes its gaybait leave me alone im still going thru the 5 stages of grief). sk8 has a crazy plot but i would honestly say its a character-driven story which makes for a good combination. the side characters too feel real and are given enough development for you to actually care about them which is important to me. basically i think the strength of sk8 is how much love and attention has been put into its protagonists; the plot has pissed me off more than once but i keep watching because the characters are so important to me.

other miscellaneous reasons: the op is so good, theres a beach episode, theres a bunch of parallels between the characters (once again the attention to detail), the setting in okinawa is great, reki and langa actually feel like teenagers, joe (mr tits) and cherry (gnc af) exist, langa is canadian and theres so many cute cultural/language gags. yeah sk8 has really taken over my brain ok

i was going to dump this into @time-and-space‘s inbox, but then it spiraled out of control and became super long. so im making it into a post. heres some thinking abt doctor who/torchwood/class/merlin parallels ! (specifically abt the parallels between tenrose/janto/charlie x matteusz/merthur) (keep in mind that my knowledge on merlin is not so good) (also feel free to correct me if im wrong or add anything on) (also this contains spoilers for ... all the shows. pls watch them, theyre good)

ive been thinking about the whole theme between charlie and matteusz where theyre like ?? scared to lose each other ?? and how it totally parallels to the other things like .... we have one character whos different and immortal and alien (not to mention the trauma they've been through-), but another who is supposedly "normal" and human. so, they work with it right ?

but then theres the ever-present danger of what they have to go through daily, and the fear that its going to leave them alone. i mean, they've already been left alone, but now that they've actually fallen in love, its different. its harder now.

consider the following lines:

"i think of it every day, and the only thing that stops me is you." (class, e6)

"i take it all back, but not him!"(torchwood, s3e4) (theres probably a better quote but no think, head empty)

"i could save everyone, but lose you." (doctor who, uhhh idk but i swear the doctor said something like it at some point, pls correct me if im wrong)

and yes, theyve felt this before, the pain of their entire race being wiped out, no one left but them, and everyone seems to leave them in the end. but for one second, they stop and actually think they have a chance for a while. someone who might stay.

ALSO it works as like .... the normal person is scared of the other, scared of what they can do and how they are ....

consider the following lines:

"im afraid of who you are, of what you're capable of, of what you will do" (class e6)

"you like to think you're a hero, but you're the biggest monster of all." (s1e4)

"what about you, doctor? what the hell are you changing into?" (doctor who, s1e6)

the person who has been through so much is capable of doing so many things, and sometimes it scares the other one. but they witnessed genocide ! and theyre probably traumatized over it ! theyve probably done some terrible shit as a result of it ! both of them are so valid in being that way.

and another parallel i have just thought of, mentioned a lot already, but the recurring theme of killing off an entire race and how that affected the alien character ....

consider the following situations:

doctor who - the time war, in which the doctor participated, and eventually ended. // when 9 was planning to kill off the last of the daleks in the parting of ways, hesitating for a bit, knowing that it would end up destroying earth in the process, making them no better than what the daleks are

torchwood - jack's planet and how it got invaded, how his parents died as a result and why his brother did everything that happened in exit wounds. // ummm i think maybe how willingly jack was able to give the girl up to the fairies to save the human race, like hes seen what the fairies are capable of, hes seen what disasters mass murder can bring. he doesnt want to see it again.

class - well, the shadowkin invasion, both on rhodia and when it happens on earth (both times) but also the invasion with the flowers ? // how much he really wants to just kill the shadowkin like ! he even mentioned it once ("i want to murder the shadowkin. every last one ...." e6) and he just wants to do it out of revenge. but “we shouldnt avenge genocide with genocide” (we're not going to talk abt how the only thing stopping him is that he would lose matteusz in the process)

but yeah ! theyve seen first hand what it like, and when prompted to do the same thing themselves, they end up hesitating, eventually choosing the other option instead. (well... except charlie. he does it once at least.)

and finally, immortality. this ties in a lot w my first point abt losing the other person .....

doctor who - pretty easy to think about, the doctor has had so many companions over the years, and each time they end up leaving them. even after he meets rose, who wished to stay together forever ("how long are you gonna stay with me?" "forever.") but then she ends up leaving, the doctor is left to continue on for so much longer ..

torchwood - pretty same as above, jack never commits himself to a relationship, he knows everyone will leave him anyway. but then he meets ianto jones. and it all changes, he falls in love, which he said he would never do, and thats why he doesnt ever say "i love you," because once he says it then he cant deny it any longer. once he says it than he will have to admit that ianto, someone that he does love, is lost to him.

class - ok, charlie isnt technically immortal from what i know, but i am assuming he probably has a longer lifespan than humans (basing this off this line - "you want to know who would be the last one standing out of the five of us? i would." e6) so ! its mentioned a lot (and is the main theme, as i said earlier) that matteusz and charlie dont want to lose each other. i want to specifically point out the line “every day i think, please dont go where i cant follow.” (e8) because it just so implies that charlie is different. he can go places, live longer than matteusz ever can.

going to add this onto the end here, but i just thought that actually merlin kinda fits into this too !

loss - the loss of his father, of his one childhood friend (will?), the knights of the round table (pretty sure a lot of them die too, correct me if im wrong) and even arthur who leaves in the end. everyone around him just seems to leave or turn bad

fear - we all know merlin is powerful, right ? i mean i swear it says somewhere hes like ... the greatest sorcerer to ever live or smth. and yes, arthur doesnt technically fear him, but if we think about what would have happened if merlin revealed his magic earlier, when camelot was still under the rule of uther and arthur was still scared of ppl w magic .... idk abt this one ndjnsjd it works in my head okay

trauma - had to get some help from @a-confused-contradictory-mess here and she brought up some good points ! when he was younger, because of his magic, he never really fit in. his mother made him hide, because she feared what would happen if he found out. (i ... think?) imagine what that does to someone, having to hide something about yourself for so long.

immortality - after everyone leaves around him, theres kinda no escape. he has to live with it for all the years that his immortal life goes by. this ties in a lot w how jack and the doctor feel, with everyone around them making them left all alone.

tldr: losing the one person they always thought would stay, one being scared of the other's power, the trauma affecting one of them, immortality and the price that comes w it are all some really good parallels between these ships/shows and genuinely kill me inside

i thought someone would never ask.

murder time trio poly is like the sun is to a plant. me being the plant of course. without it i simply could not live a satisfactory life and would die out. i have so much to say about them

see now WHY is the ship so damn good?? because they're practically made for each other without even knowing it like hello why are these three characters with the same origin point so perfect for eachother despite having different backstories and personalities. the creators were all across the world yet these three fit so well together you might as well think that SAS rahafwabas and askdusttale communicated telepathically to place all these parallels and dynamics into theri aus. they have so much chemistry together even when theyre not being shipped it's unreal. you will never see them apart in art because they're the mtt. they literally have their own trio name that's how iconic they are together (they mightve stolen it from the bad time trio but its ok its ok they deserve it). you don't see any other characters beings referred to those names aside from the bad sanses and star sanses so that just shows how awesome they are together

they don't even have to be in love to be good with eachother like hello. even in their duos theyre so good for eachother but it feels incomplete without all three. and the best part is that they don't even know eachother canonically so it's completely up to personal interpretation how you think they would be together. like canon is already juicy enough already but theres still so many other interpretations based on aus or headcanons or literally just who is thinking about them (i love seeing other people's interpretations of the mtt because its always so different. you will never find two versions of them that are the same from two different people)

dust and killer have their beef with eachother where they hate the other for what theyve done but it's onesided mostly from dust. dust doesn't like him but he tries to avoid him (canonically. ya i read the dusttale blog and you should too) and yeah killer has a grudge against him because dust is an asshole but he just keeps bothering him and getting up into his business because hes curious and needs entertainment to distract himself and slowly but surely they start warming up to eachother and become frienemies. they will NEVER truly become full friends because they simply are too traumatized to do so. dust will always resent killer for teaming up with the human and killer will never be able to get dust to forgive him because he is permanently stuck as killer sans but they can try. they can try to be friends even if they fucking hate eachothers guts. they can stab eachother and then go patch themselves up. they won't help the other tend to their wounds but they will offer some offhand comments here and there if killer misses a gash or dust forgets about a bone he needs to fix. this is as healthy as they get but it's okay. the mutual rage is what makes kist work

like kist horror and dust don't like eachother either. it's a mutual thing for all three of them that they fucking hate eachother. but unlike kist (or horrorkiller aswell) horrordust are the "nicest" to each other. dust pities horror. he feels bad that horror had to go through something terrible all at the hands of a human just like he did. he knows that horror did some questionable things (why in horror's not so right mind did he think feeding papyrus HUMAN FLESH was a good idea. he understands why and all but it still upsets him) but it's not like dust will comment on it. dust doesn't have the right to after all the bullshit he did. but horror hates this he hates that dust pities him. he KNOWS what he did was wrong and he absolutely resents being reminded of what he did, or even getting the slightest bit of pity for himself (because nobody should feel bad for him especially after all he did. he doomed the underground and ruined his papyrus and changed everyone for the worse out of rage). horror and dust mutually avoid eachother (dust out of respect and horror out of disrespect 💀💀) but they eventually have a few interactions. they get along FINE. they have some passive aggressive bickering mostly started by horror and dust fires back but overall their relationship is courteous. they do get into fights but unless both of them are in a REALLY bad mood theyll likely just leave the other before it gets physical. they would get along fine if they could just fucking trust eachother but they don't. that tension will always be there where they judge eachother

horrorkiller is similar to kist. except not. like with dust, horror probably really doesn't like killer for similar reasons and killer probably bothers horror out of curiosity too. except the way they react is different from kist/horrordust. horror doesn't explode like dust does when killer riles him up. instead he just insults him back passive aggressively with no fire behind it because he knows that killer's just looking for entertainment (he also thinks killer's below him. probably.) killer is ngl intrigued by this. he wants to know what will make horror snap just like dust does at him. so he tries to make his insults more and more mean, but horror can actually spit back without getting mad and it bothers killer. he tries sabotage (pranks) but it turns out that horror likes pranks. what will it take for killer to piss him off??? (it's insulting actions like killing a papyrus literally infront of horror and making it a mockery it's disrespecting food in front of horror with intent to piss him off etc etc) but it takes killer a long ass time to figure this out and by then hes kinda become somewhat decent friends with horror (friendsISH. a canonesque murder time trio will never truly become friends with eachother)

"okay but triglycercule you fiend. none of this is about murder time trio POLY. this is about them as friends and you should never speak again." i hear you disembodied voice in my head but let me tell you this: mttpoly is literally just them as friends. and you wannanknow why its because of qprs. yaaaa personally i don't think that a canonesque mtt would be anything more than a qpr. dust wouldnt be interested in romantic partners (i think dusttale blog said that. dusttale blog i love you.) horror would rather die and have bis corspe fed to undyne than even think of doing anything non plstonic with either of those losers and killer just does not give a damn about the specifics of their relationship (because he's cool like that) and ya sure there are versions of them out there who might be more than a QPR and i wholeheartedly love those idas because i love these three but my personal canon(ish. nothing is truly canon unless it comes out of the holy mtt trinity of creators) interpretations. also none of this even considers the whole boatload of aus and personal hcs and other stuff that other contexts and people who can take these templates of characters that have never met and make them into something amazing with their interactions

but yeah. i just think theyre neat

so i watched cobra kai all in two days and i have so many -

this show has so many cool and smart angles to it, but the same time.... its so stupid oh my god everyone is so dumb literally mr miyagi held all of the braincells in this whole universe

like i am but at the same time i am not surprised it was made like this, bc in hindsight of course there were hordes of ppl simping over johnny lawrence .... but it still amuses me that this is like... an Actual Official Thing

how much fun this cast has is super visible and i love it

i rly enjoy how the world was expanded ! i did grow up watching the karate kid movies, so watching how they progressed the world of the movies so organically was pretty cool. it rly feels like its the same universe

i fucking LOVE stories that are largely about a Thing. dancing ,skating, sports its just so thrilling to experience this all consuming relationship people can have with this type of activity? and martial arts are just that much more intense, so yeah, grown ass men kicking each other around at the lightest provocation and a war veteran caring so much abt teen karate is Ridiculous.... but i love it all because thats the intensity i find so thrilling

was kinda surprised with how much im missing mr. miyagi. first because, like everyone is so unhinged jesus christo, it just really throws into relief how much his character grounded the narrative of the movies. but also hes just a really great character

and on that note it rly Gets Me that the show itself aknowledges that and plays that into daniels angst and all the little ways they sorta weave myiagisms into the whole show........ im not getting emotional over this dumb karate dads show OK

related - i really miss hearing ‘daniel-san’ 🥺🥺

they really went down the down and out johnny lawrence route huh. like i was always kinda bummed we see kreese choking him and then we never see him again in the movies, and while i love dumpster fire problematic trash himbo ck johnny, its like......................... actually really sad that his life turned out like this fjngn

everytime i hear ‘babes’ and ‘pussy’ i die a little inside. i know thats the point but i am a v cringe easy person, have mercy (ehe)

loved the way they are constantly drawing parallels between johnny and mr. myiagi of all people. hes the handy man of his building that has a bullied kid asking for help and eventually steps up to teach them karate, beats up a bunch of bullies for him, creates a friendship with said kid, estranged from family, drinks his sorrows away, surprisingly one of the least quick to anger characters (which says more about everyone else really but.... Well.), no schemes or ulterior motives hes just tryna vibe here.... oh and ofc magically heals miguel of is asthma apparently. the true disciple.. meanwhile daniel is his usual messy petty self even tho he wants to be mr myiagi so bad

also interesting about that is how miguels character is a parallel of both johnny and daniel at the same time

overall the parallels in ck are done really well, drawing comparisons and also subverting them constantly. theyre well thought out

THE PARALELOGRAMS

fr tho, the angle being explicitly the cycle of trauma and its effects and how trumatized adults in turn traumatize kids, maliciously or not, is so interesting

but! on the flip side of that, it feels like the writers are getting in their own way @ letting the characters grow. especially this last season. theres only so many times you can do "johnny and daniel are getting along but 5mins later they are (literally) fighting over some dumbass random issue" or "johnny puts in 20% of effort with robby and then gives up" before it gets on your nerves yknow?

i see daniel no longer talks like macchio ingested 15 shots of espresso before every take and idk how to feel about that tbh

interesting tension in daniel, as in, in tkk mr miyagi was there and daniel was frankly, kind of a lil shit, this messy petty spitfire hot tempered sassy kid,(johnny lawrence voice: just... stop being so annoying) but now hes the adult, and he wants to be mr. miyagi... but hes just not, and never will be to his very core and it shakes him and in a way hes trying to find who he is now that he sees himself in a position to be a not! cobra kai figure. i kinda really like that

plus how that relates to his cobra kai trauma. idk if the writers thought abt it Like That, i think so, but in any case, its interesting bc it seems like daniel has told everyone whod listen about johnny lawrence his Pretty Boy Karate Rival and high school and 84 cobra kai... But. no one seems to know what went on in 85 (or 86? idk) which was just so much worse

like ye og cobras were shitheads, but tkk iii is just two hours of daniel being emotionally and physically tortured.

like, the third movie is.............chaotic, to put it nicely, and many people ignore it, but the writers clearly didnt. daniels actions are, in a way, responding so much more to the events of tkk iii than to the first movie ie. johnny himself, AND. daniel doesnt rly seem to have dealt with that trauma? he never told sam? doesnt feel like hes ever told amanda? he doesnt even say terrys name out loud? freaks Out over kreese ? the way he reacts to robbys deceit? his FACE when he walks past the new "fear does not exist in this dojo" paint or kreeses photo? hmMm i sense Pain

his fashion tho........... disappointing. where are the flower shirts daniel huh we had one (1) shirt what a tragedy STOP WEARING SUITS ALL THE TIME . also the band ts/grunge bi are a look for johnny but part of me longs for the preppy lovable 80s bully chic johnny lawrence getups

weird that they never used that last moment of karate kid where johnny kinda... snaps out of his anger and hands daniel the trophy almost in tears. like “youre alright larusso, good match” “thanks a lot” that being their last direct interection seems like itd be perfect fruit for cobra kai but... they just dont. weird.

especially when, the FIRST SCENE they see each other, suposedly in 30+ years, the first thing to come out of daniels mouth is QUOTE "u still got those golden locks huh?" WHO SAYS SHIT LIKE THAT DANIEL FUCKING SAN

also amandas immediate reaction "your pretty boy rival?" like. can we talk about the fact that daniel had to have imparted to his wife the very important information that his high school bully/karate rival was like Really Cute and Fucking Hot Actually

the writers Knew exactly what they were doing and honestly.............. power to them

also I was thinking that daniel sounded strangely fond in that first scene, and i wonder if he developed a weird affection for johnny on the grounds that of all of his Karate Rivals johnny was actually the only one who didn’t actively tried to literally kill him

i was actually delightedly surprised with how great the chemistry between them is, like from the get go i am Invested. their rl friendship totally bleeds through and its fantastic

. granted, idiots enemies to lovers friends is my Thing so i am biased

johnny lawrence: i am down in the dumps, i fucked up my whole life and my sons probably, largely in light of the trauma that the father figure sensei and the philosophy of my karate inflicted on me and all my friends. u know what i should do, as a traumatized, unreliable mess of an adult? teach that same philosophy to some other kids! what could go wrong!

but really i enjoy the setup of it. i kinda like that i watched it late because, season 1 was johnny setting himself up for failure in a way and it was exciting to watch it all go to shit sjfn

Like. his heart might be in the right place, but theres just.... not a way to teach something like ‘strike hard, no mercy’ and not have it fuck up a kid

case and point: aisha, miguel and hawk become annoying as all hell over that bullshit in the end of s1, even before shit gets truly fucked up

billys subtle panicked eyes when he sees hawk and miguel fighting dirty in the all valley was SO GOOD especially in parallel with the panic that is so visible in his face in the movie when kreese tells bobby to injure daniel and in the sweep the leg scene

seen people question wether kreese should have returned and i absolutely think he needed to. johnny needed to realize that cobra kais fundamentals are flawed, at the root, beyond kreese himself being a toxic piece of shit

also who are we kidding? we are here to see the tkk characters play on new playgrounds!

i get what they're doing abt kreeses backstory, ( also. cobra kai. pq eles caem nas cobras djjs sorry) but did it need to take up that much time? feels like they couldve done it in half the run time and developed some other stories better

like dont get me wrong, i dont hate anyone,its not a jane and rafael from jtv situation, and i am interested and invested in their arcs, but i wouldnt say i like Like them, as in, personality wise

like, sams grappling with ptsd was rly gutting and i enjoyed that plus her slight rage issues,

which nicely parallel torys rage issues. torys background is all over the place tho so im pretty on the fence abt her so far

robby deserves better in every way, and i like how smart and cunning and surprisingly sweet he is

carmen is sweet but. i just feel like her character is blunted to make the johnny relationship easier. like when shes furious with him after miguels injury but then forgives him like an episode later? and then convinces him to fight for the tournament bc she had a karate epiphany off screen even tho she was always against it? meh. feels like with the plot thiccening she was swallowed and now shes like a crutch for johnny mora than anything, which is disappointing.

aisha was cool and im kinda mad she wasnt in s3, especially bc a storyline with her tory and sam was like RIGHT THERE , but also... cant say i was super super fond of her... doesnt feel like we ever spent enough time on her

overall its a good cast but the main draw for me remains the og cast

the tory/sam miguel/robby Thing. enjoy how theyre Narrative Foils and i like how their stories were so dramatically entangled but oh god give me a break with the teenage love square for the love of god. if u gonna put us through that at least have the decency to not make it so straight

and honestly some sam/tory miguel/robby romantic tension would even make more sense. just saying!

also im not sure how i feel abt the cobra kai: red miyagi do: blue theyre going with since some of daniels most iconic looks in tkk are also red. like it was a color they (johnny and him) sorta shared. i get it, opposite but complementary but idk... a little too fire nation and water tribe for me .

and like the cobra kai kids are so funny abt it bc their outifts grow progressively more ridiculously coordinated. its like do they group chat every morning before leaving their houses?

robby still sticks out like that tho. he went thru an athleisure/daniel san tsleeves phase and now hes back in the bandts grunge, but his color scheme doesnt fully blend with the other cobra kais. hmmmm.

LOVED LOVED LOVED both the okinawa episode and the cobra kais easy rider episode just such good good heart aching fun

bobby is an icon. he was in tkk and he is now ck hope appears more and more

tommy is like the most iconic background character. all his lines, freaking gold then and now. sigh :(

when kumiko reads mr miyagis letters........ oh my god, my eyes FILLED with tears, it was so heart wrenching :(( tamlyns delivery was so emotional and lovely and its so obvious everyone involved in ck has so much love and respect for pat morita and mr miyagi as character, and i adore that it exists like this electric current through the show

due to my desire to not completely fail all my classes this year i made myself slow down significantly while listening to this season, and the fact that the other person i'm listening along with had to catch up. We've managed to convert several other people to start listening and its pretty great.

ep 81: what does it even mean to be chosen by one of them? And if he was chosen by the eye. we know Gertrude wasnt? Because she cut the eyes out of the magazines?

ep 82: elias lmao. I understand why people like him so much bahshdhdk i thought he was gonna snitch on Jon but he didnt so he's fine. Ok but how do we think he knew all that stuff. Idk probably just institute connections. I love the fact that the recorder just wants to record stuff randomly bjahsjdhd. Elias feels a lot like Michael in the sense that he knows more than he should and talks in a way that implies he just wants to wait and see how things play out for his own benefit. I understand him knowing the things that happened but his description of her emotions implies something paranormal. Maybe he's connected to one of the entities. Which one I cannot guess.

ep 83: did a file get delivered randomly to the place he's staying at? Probably elias lmao. He thinks the mannequin is related to the stranger. Idk I would believe it.

ep 84: worms? I know he says earth worms but idk. Again? Is she making gordon golems out of trash? Martin popping off. You can tell the statements get to him more that they get to Jon. How come martin is so mad about it? I want to assume he just doesnt want her to get stuck there but idk. Jude Perry. The calliope organ. Jon heard a circus in one of the last episodes

ok im just putting this here so i have notes for when nicholas gets to this part. It seems like (from jon's conversation with jude perry) that the desolation and the eye are kinda at odds with eachother? like i guess not directly but it seems like they dont really vibe? so how could be with both. Cuz if he has the heat powers and shit then we know he's an avatar of the desolation. but then why does he have so much eye imagery. also he got burned intentionally? like jude did when she went on her monologue about the feeling of burning? but then why did he wear the eye pendant. it stops him from being burned all the way which seems like he's not fully accepting the fire or whatever.

so i have some thoughts about the newest ep.

WARNING! SPOILERS FOR MAG 179!

(mosta this stuff is probably p obvious and might have already been said before but im super excited i made so many connections all on my own and i wanted to share them)

accomplice:

a person who helps another commit a crime

so ep starts with a statemnt about a man whos friend always had his back ukno even when he did bad things hed say like “i got u, i got u," they were accomplices

and daisy did bad things as a cop because she was looking for a hunt. she wanted to chase people and hurt them. and basira was her friend so she helped her. they were also accomplices

heres where im goin a lil weird ukno and i dont know if this is like obvious or someone else already said this but like

jon and martin are accomplices

when jon killed notsasha martin was like "lets go apeshit lets kill EVERYONE” and k baby go off i love u ur doing great but like also

they killin

like theres a moral discussion to be had there

but also theres a parallel when martins taking care of jons leg he says “i got u i got u its ok”

p normal things to say when comforting ur bf after he got bit by big giant dog but also a parallel to the statement

and i think thats what establishes them as acomplices.

what im trying to say is theres a fucking pattern with the three sets of accomplices in this ep

first.

the man has to kill his friend. its part of his torture.

second.

basira kills daisy because daisy made her promise to. she knew shed hurt people because she was an avatar to the hunt. she knew it would save people if she was dead.

so motherfucking bitch eggs on toast,

third.

martins gonna kill jon. to save the world. i dont know how. i dont know why. but its gonna happen i know it.

this is fucking foreshadowing.

i am crying because oh my god no.

tl;dr: basira killing daisy is foreshadowing to martin killing jon for similar reasons in the future :(

first: WAHHHHHHHHH 😭😭😭 I got so emotional!!! so emotional!!!! so much that I can’t even do this first second pattern bc I have SO MANY thoughts!!!!!!! I’m writing this in my notes instead of straight into the askbox so u know it’s serious business™

ok so debut night!!! I was like ahah yeah it’s a tragedy whatever it’ll be fun to start out with and then the voice acting was SO good that it knocked me out of the park and I almost cried haha. it’s crazy how good the voice acting in a3 is like I love how the dialogue and voice acting works well together bc like it’s limited but so effective!! u can so very clearly see and understand the style they’re going for. especially like tsumugi’s death scene... the Talent jumped out it really did... uh and ok so. I think I may be a littleeee confused abt the play bc I had always interpreted tasukus last lines as raphael to be like abt his being secretly in love with michael. but now that I’m actually reading the line that’s like oh don’t fall for a human it only ends in misery I know that all too well or whatever... ig the implication is that raphael was in love with another human / the same lady michael was in love with in the play. side note I had to go back and edit the proper names in instead of tasuku and tsumugi lol... but speaking of!! speaking of the voice acting and the play itself I 1) love how blatantly obvious it is when tsumugi goes for that grander, tasuku like style of delivery!! like u could just so easily feel the difference it was wild... and 2) tsuzuru is once again spot on with his writing, lol... I felt that like raphaels inability to save or help michael really parallels how tasuku feels abt tsumugi so well, and it’s wonderful that they r able to resolve things and tasuku can properly compliment him on his acting where the angels fail to do so. it’s very good. and I think the play rly highlights (for me at least) that like. to tasuku, it was tsumugi who was sort of an unreachable existence. like were he to idolize and respect someone’s acting, it would be tsumugi. and I think that like caring carries over into their roles really well, because I think in michael’s love for a human tasuku sees like... tsumugi’s style of acting. the heart that he’d lost while within the god troupe. mb I’m losing my mind a little but ah. the play rly works with their relationship so well!! im very excited to see the other winter ppl get main roles tho—same for all the troupes!!! now this ask is too long so I’ll have to do another part lol

going to start off this second part of the ask abt hisoka bc oh my GOD. hisoka. like I was just thinking “hm where r the winter troupe cgs anyways” and then BAM. hisoka CRYING???? especially since he doesn’t seem that emotional it was a really hard hit!!! and who tf is august.... ok well actually theory time!! skipping ahead to the end theres that note that like mentions December and April and. not to expose my friend but very many years ago (a couple years before a3 was launched, at the very least) she wrote this story where there were like 12 orphan assassins and they were all named after months. I remember the main dude was named dec lol. coupled with my “hisoka is capable of murder” bit? listen.... I’m not saying anything but I’m also not not saying anything if u feel me. also I feel like assassin / thief with mysterious background is a common trope!! that was silver from the pokémon adventures manga too... why is this my reference point lmao. anyways I’m unclear if assassins would make it into a3 but like.... if the yakuza and supernatural stuff makes it in...

okay moving away from conspiracy theories and into emotions!!! the quotes from like EVERY mankai actor before the final production made me SO emo... and yay!!! they won!!!! (though admittedly I almost had a heart attack when no one clapped) but they won!!!! that ending cg!!!! and I adore how sakyo immediately goes after god troupe man (I know his name is reni I just don’t feel like calling him that) for the money lol it’s just so sakyo-like. also I love the lil mixed troupe interactions!! I found the game night ch so fun.... ahh, now I wanna reread that ch since it was so good lol

all in all I was super satisfied ahh!! I am SO excited to start up spring troupe again (HELLO character development!!! and chikage) and I’m even MORE excited to get thru all the act 1 events!!!! as a final note, is there any way to reread or replay the flair conversations? I didn’t want any spoilers for the plays while I was doing the practices for them so I kinda sped thru the first time ahah...

HELLO FRIEND IM SO HAPPY TO GET SUCH A LENGHTY ASK ABOUT WINTER IM LKDJFLKDJFLKFD Winter makes me feel shrimps emotions (i know the whole “shrimps can see more colors than humans can’t comprehend” thing has been disproved but i’m not letting go of that expression, i REALLY feel emotions humans can’t comprehend anymore and i’m going to make it everyone else’s problem)

1) First about the voice acting, rIGHT this is just so fascinating to me!!! I remember after act 2 i came back to reread the main act 1 chapter and i was so thrown out by how GOOD the voice acting was, especially for the first few troupes having to convince you they’re not comfortable or good at acting yet. Winter whole thing is that they’re more subtle and mature and you really feel that with their voice acting, Tsumugi’s voice especially knock it off the park anytime he’s on screen.

2) Second: what does it say about me that i’ve never, ever considered your reading a possibility because i was so set on “oh Raphael you’re in love with Michael sooooo bad you see it as a tragedy already because you can see him throw his life away” i didn’t even consider “maybe Raphael went through that too”. Though i guess if we’re going with that reading i can totally see “The Woman” they let themselves consumed by easily be a representation of acting or even more the God Troupe, with Raphael/Tasuku knowing to step away before it consumes him completely while Michael/Tsumugi, by his love and passion, pushed himself until he broke, which fits and it hurtsssss god Winter plays hits so hard.

3) Third: oh god yeah when Tsumugi goes for Tasuku’s acting it’s just. It makes me SO uncomfortable, i’ve experienced this scene like three times by now and the third time i was just “can i skip it i can’t go through this again i can’t Tsumugi i love you i can’t do this”. It doesn’t match the play at all and it just throws everyone off balance, and Tsumu you could have told theM YOU WANTED TO DO THAT.... god

4) Fourth: I LOVE YOUR READING SO MUCH I LOVE IT I LOVE IT YES YOU’RE RIGHT!!! Just as we follow Tsumugi let his passion consumes him until he breaks, Tasuku’s character arc really jumps out in Raphael, like, everything you say!!! The way Tasuku/Raphael knew how the feelings Tsumugi/Michael felt would hurt him on the long run but he didn’t know what to do about it until it was too late, the regrets and the way Raphael voices his frustrations.... Tasuku struggles to be honest without acting (Tasuku pls i love you) but having such a role really help him expressing all he feels about Tsumugi and i’m HHHH this is so good so so good!!! but yeah i also love that Tasuku finally manages to actually compliment Tsumugi naturally, that he understands he can’t let him destroys himself again and it’s just gnhhhhh Tasuku is so kind and considerate and i care about him so much....!!!

5) Fifth: “i’m losing my mind a little” winter mood, winter mood winter mood- (though every troupe’s mood tbh but Winter is gnhhhhh kdhd hdhjf??? you feel me) (i am BIASED i can’t help it TwT) but yeaH i’m looking forward to see how you react to the others plays because the roller coaster juST BEGUN!!!

Onto part 2... Winter Troupe Chapter Feels... 2!

6) Sixth: DLFJDFKLDF HISOKAAAAAAAAAA I LOVE HIM SO MUCHHHHH. Hisoka crying fucked me up so bad!! so so bad!! Like on my first read i didn’t know what to think of him as he starts out very apathic to his troupe and then the more it goes on the more you can feel he starts to open up and i’m soft for this sort of slow burn, but then this whole scene happened and it HIT ME IN THE FACE, he was crying, i was crying, we were all crying, the Unopening Door opened a flood of emotions i can’t cope with. He sounds SO VULNERABLE during that scene and i know all of the Winter Troupe united on “taking care of him” but that’s really the moment i went “i care you and i will keep taking care of you” and look at me now. Thanks funky little scene for ruining my life. I’m glad you liked it i’m aldhjflkjdfkd Hisokaaaaa.....

7) Seventh: I am not commenting on the theory but 👀 that’s so highly specific your friend has a galaxy brain i love it. and i love the idea of “well we have yakuza and supernatural entity what’s an assassin adding himself to it” dLKFJDLKF i know everyone in Mankai calls Izumi out everytime someone joins but that’d be peak. I’m not going further about what December and August and April are all about but i love this plotline sO much, the few mentions of August when Hisoka regained his memories for a minute still haunts me, the guilt he seems to feel and this pain i’m just... godddd such a good set up. I love this plotline.

8) Eigth: EMOTIONS!! Oh GOD YEAH THE ENDING WITH ALL THE OTHER ACTORS... I cried so hard it’s just. It really shows you it’s not just the culmination of the Winter chapter but of all the act 1 main plot and it really makes you feel how much of a journey you’ve been onto!! A3 is so good at showing you the growth of its characters that especially by the end of Winter you really saw how all of them grew in their respective chapters and how cozy they felt in their new home in the remaining chapters, and the fact this chap has those defining character arc’s lines really drive home “oh my god that was a journey” i love them sO MUCH....

9) Ninth: wE WOOOON!!! They’re all so good i just. i’m gonna cry just thinking about it dlfdjlfk i know like, the game has so many content so you know it can’t end at the end of Winter but the suspense really was there. BUT YEAH LMAO I LOVE SAKYO DOING THAT IMMEDIATLY, man sure has the eyes on the prize and we love him for that. AND THE GAME NIGHT SCENE they are all sO CUTE and sWEET and they’re a family now and i’m hHHHHH i love a3 a normal healthy amount that isn’t just making me cry thinking about how all of them grew so close even through mixed troupes.

10) Tenth: I am SO happy you were satisfied with the plot so far!! I’m genuinely so happy that you decided to take that journey with us and that you shared all of this with me, and i’m so so happy you liked it!! There is still so much content and all of it is so worth it!

11) Eleventh: Yes!! The flair conversations are all readable on the Mini-Chat tab! So they’re easily accessible and they’re sorted in a way that’s easy to read so you can feel comfortable skipping the flairs if you want until you have seen the stories the flairs are all about. They’re all kinda set during the rehearsals (except for some crosstroupe conversation that wouldn’t make sense if they were like how the Summer Troupe talks with the Spring Troupe in their Flairs DKLFJDF but it’s okay what is a timeline anyway) so some of them are set pre-development and it’s wild to get back to them. I love rereading Flairs i get emotional everytime.

The drive has backstages and event stories and it may be a lot and overwhelming ahah. Focus on the event stories for the plot and go back to the backstages whenever you feel like it, no need to read them at the same time, unless you want to in which case everything is set up for you :3c and there’s a file with cards that aren’t associated to events too so... lots of goodies hanging around.
