Pirates and Mermaid Traffic/Hermit Au

Ok so the main thing that has been going on in my head recently is a pirate AU but some of the members are mermaids/sirens. (I've decided to use it interchangeably.) Its more so about perspective, like if someone is hunting a mermaid its more likely they would you 'Siren' since they are scared or think they are more so monsters, (Or I just don't want to write mermaid.), but on the other hand a boat at sea sees a curious mermaid approach the ship and meekly poke its head out of the water. If the crew wasn't scared of the mermaid they would probably use 'Mermaid'. But all in all Mermaids and Sirens are the same thing. There are also hybrids and such, like avians, foxes, imps, and stuff like that. There are also fae and such here. So we just have a boat full of little freaks /pos. There is also people who can use like magic and such. Like Tango has fire magic powers and such. But about every mermaid has some sorta power relating to water or something in the water. But pretty much Grian is the captain of the 'Barge', Mumbo is his first mate, Jimmy is the look out and Grian's cousin, Joel, Etho an older pirate who just joined G and crew, Gem, Skizz, Impulse, and Tango are all apart of the crew. At least so far that I've thought of.

Grian and Jimmy are avians; Mumbo, Joel, Skizz, and Tango are humans; Etho is an artic fox, Gem I'm not too sure honestly so for now human. Grian joined up with Mumbo at first, then Jimmy and Joel joined him, Etho and Gem joined as the next group (i just really like their Duo), Skizz, Impulse, and Tango join up last. Then for the mermaids we have Ren who is kings of course, Bdubs is his like servant (for lack of better term right now), Martyn is also his servant or right hand, Scar helps out around the kingdom occasionally, Cleo is Scar and Bdub's mom, Cub is there as Scar's bestie (they normally are besties in AU's I feel I just don't really watch him so I don't know much about his personality), and Scott is down there in the sea too for the mean gills propaganda. For the fish people they have powers like I mentioned earlier. Like Scar can shoot currents of water he does mainly use like a bow and arrow stance so HOTGUY! Bdubs can manipulate like underwater flora, since he is like moss normally and that's like a plant. Other fish I don't quite know yet.

I have more ill definingly put out there as I go hope you enjoy my silly idea so far.

Good Things In 2023

It’s that time of year again! Time to remember all the good things that happened in 2023. I’ve done this since 2017, and highly recommend doing this as a fun way to reflect (and to have something for future reference when you are feeling Down.)

PERSONAL

I visited two countries I haven't been to before: the Netherlands and Iceland!

The Netherlands: mostly Amsterdam but did also pop down to The Hague for a day. Did the Van Gogh Museum, the Anne Frank House, the Rijksmuseum, the Bloemenmarkt, a canal boat tour, the Royal Palace, the Mauritshuis.

Iceland: I was there for less than 48 hours but I saw THE NORTHERN LIGHTS!!!! they were subtler than I expected but so cool. also did the Perlan Museum and a Lava Show, which ruled.

Related: I turned 30 this year!

My dear friend Sam came to visit me in Dublin in June! The highlight of her visit was going with her to see Hozier at Malahide Castle.

Speaking of which, Hozier dropped UNREAL UNEARTH which isn't personal, per se, but is very personal to me

My sister visited me in November! We squeezed a lot in her time here, but highlights were Glendalough, the Hill of Tara, and the Galway Christmas Market.

A few aunts went on a trip to Ireland this fall and I joined them for a bit up in Donegal, as well as a day trip to Derry, which I'd not been to before.

Completely fucking forgot about this but I did write a 158k word long ROGUE ONE / FRINGE AU, ENDLESS FORMS MOST BEAUTIFUL. it was a real fuckin bitch to finish, let me tell you that

I got really into MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE over the summer (don't ask) and wrote a couple short pieces inspired by the most recent movie, DEAD RECKONING - PART ONE: LADY LAZARUS and WORTHY THE NAME OF SIR KNIGHT.

I jumped back on my bullshit in October and wrote a long, extended epilogue to my BINARY STAR SYSTEMS trilogy: TWO DESERTS. the way the series ended was always correct and good but it was fun to write this extended epilogue focusing on the fallout, the question of what it's like to live past the end of your myth.

Anything bolded below is something I particularly enjoyed and recommend.

What is the first part of your WIP that you created?: The idea of a necromancer accidentally causing the zombie apocalypse. All of the other elements came later (and then tried to take over the original idea...)

If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?: Something catchy but spooky. Khachaturian's Masquerade Waltz, maybe.

What are your favourite characters that you made? Why?: Ilaran and Lian. They're both morally ambiguous and have done some outright villainous things, so predictably I like them best :D

What other pieces of media do you think your fan base would share?: The Untamed (because necromancy), I guess

What has been your biggest struggle with your WIP?: Getting the characters to do what I want instead of taking the plot in a new and weird direction *glares at them*

Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!: There aren't many ordinary animals, but there are immortals who can shapeshift into animals (snakes, sea serpents, a dragon, a phoenix...). These transformations tend to happen at inconvenient times if the shapeshifter isn't used to them. And they aren't always helpful -- Ilaran is afraid of heights but turns into an eagle.

How do your characters get around? (Ex. Trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.): Mostly on foot or by horses. For longer journeys they take either the train or the airship. And for travelling to another planet they use spaceships.

What part of your WIP are you working on right now?: Currently planning book five. I got a few chapters done then got distracted, so I just need to pick up where I left off.

What aspects (tropes, maybe) of your WIP do you think will draw people in?: Probably the zombie apocalypse. But people who come for it will have to wait a long time before it gets started ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm gonna talk about "Multiverses and timelines" (and relationships) only those related to my ocs.

First... multiverses ! All my ocs aren't in the same multiverse or from the same multiverse. But it's not a real problem since one of my ocs (Lint) have the capacity of 'porting between multiverses... and the bad habit of kidnapping people she find funny. So each of my character can technically meet by Lint-kidnapping.

Ok so now, the different multiverses :

-Mimosa (darkcream shipkid) lives in but isn't from @creative-firebug 's multiverse

-Sigma (sova shipkid- Star (cream) X Nova (outerkiller)) lives in and is from an alternative multiverse of @ginganinja 's

-Lint (dreamberry shipkid) and Soot (Nightdust shipkid) lives and are from the same multiverse

-CommonTale (my au) is in Lint and Soot's multiverse (originally it was in another multiverse but too many universes sound annoying so-). Mynn, Jar (alphine), Seabyl live in and are from CommonTale. Vary and Shift (unknown parents) live in CommonTale but aren't from.

-Mu (darkcream kid) and Fancy (?) are currently in another multiverse (I will talk about this multiverse when enough stuff would be discovered about Fancy, for now it's just "another multiverse")

-Schpoom is lost

-My lil' buddies do not belong to this mess (but they can pop in if I want even if they are original)

Now about timelines. I have two main timelines.

The first is the current one. Kids has their normal age. The second is set in the future -12 years in the future. So the kids are adults and the babies teens. I didn't do all the designs but it's what I usually call "adult version". For more information about the future timeline, adult!Mimosa has his own blog (@ask-storyteller-mimosa).

I did an oupsie btw, the older design for Sigma was meant to belong to the future timeline but I did them 12 years old instead of 14. But I'm lazy so I'm just gonna keep the design and say they're the tiniest teen. X)

There is one oc who belongs to the future timeline but not the current ! Seabyl! Seabyl is the datemate of adult!Mynn and they didn't met until being older so no Seabyl in the current timeline -for now-

There're also other timelines like for example :

-the timeline where Mimosa's parents survived so they live happily together, dunno if I'll work on that one again but who knows

-the human timeline (alternate multiverse/universe I guess) where everybody is human, I'm just doing design because it's funny but maybe one day I'll see if I can make it work

-I created versions for fun and some are just designs (mermaid Goth! Mimosa for example, I'm not planning to use it obviously-) while some has their own personality (I do think demon!Mimosa has plenty of personality and I do plan on making him steal socks again XD)

Oh and I wanted to say a last thing : the only "sans" I have is the one living in my au CommonTale (Compass!Sans). Fancy and Schpoom aren't "sanses" -nor shipkids btw-. I didn't have any problem towards that so far but just in case :3.

SO !! i barely have anything yet bc i just had this fucking brain blast like an hour ago but. here are my Thoughts so far:

so the very first thing i tried to think of was like. what everyone is? i did my best w this but i am so fuckin open to ideas..... i don’t know shit! 

the easiest answer right off the bat was who the humans are (or at least the pirates who appear to be human) in this. we got the science team as the pirate crew—gordon, tommy, bubby, and coomer! they are sailing the seas and maybe they are not doing a very good job of it but it’s fine. it’s Fine

the second easiest answer was benrey’s situation. we got skeletons fuck yeah. benrey got some of that curse uh oh! however w benrey’s situation that’s more like... sometimes being a skeleton rather than just steadily turning into one, i thought maybe the curse fucked up on him? maybe it’s like. he’s only half cursed to just sometimes be a skeleton but he can also look human again too. i don’t fucking know. also OH SHIT BENREY HAS TO BE NOT HUMAN UHJHHHHHHHH fuck it guess he’s part ancient now too. i guess. shit i’ll have to spend more time on him but this is.. the gist

next we got uhh forzen babey. i’ll be honest i’m not too confident on this one. i had the vague idea that maybe he’s a mermaid? although whether he’s one of the mermaids that steals sunken pirates and turns them into mermaids or one of the mermaids who was turned into a pirate i can’t really decide. i mean the pirates-turned-mermaids are always helpful in game, and forzen. well. Isn’t, but the mermaid-mermaids live so far deep that they’re never seen? so i don’t know. but he’s out there.... in the ocean....... somewhere....... waiting for me to have more brain power to answer this

it’s darnold time! i’ll be honest i also don’t have many ideas for this guy. i thought maybe he’s got something to do with the order of souls? that’s vaguely related to potions right? sage darnold with the oos eyes curse and he reads the fuckin skull juices to help out the crew with their voyages..... i think? there are other options too but this is the one that jumped out at me the most!

GREGORY MAN. the man himself. SO I GOT TWO POSSIBILITIES HERE FOR THIS GUY. what i can’t decide on is how much of canon sot i want to be canon in this au... mainly, the stuff abt the pirate lord. i got two options here, one of which is that ramsey still exists as the pirate lord and he hangs out doing mostly the same shit he does in canon, and gman is like. an ancient who stuck around the sea of thieves for whatever reason? which would make tommy a descendant of the ancients too, hence why i specified earlier that all the pirates in the crew might not be human..... EITHER THAT OR gman is the pirate lord and ramsey fuckin uh doesn’t exist in the au. and i CANNOT for the life of me decide which i like better. ANY HELP APPRECIATE HERE PLS

OH ALSO I FORGOT SUNKIST HE’S A MONKEY THAT TOMMY HAS AND HE CAN DO COOL TRICKS AND EVERYONE LOVES HIM. HE’S IMMORTAL SOMEHOW. DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT

THEN. it’s tim,e for “how the fuck did everyone get past the shroud into the sot”

i think no matter who the pirate lord is in this au they’d have no problems letting pretty much anyone in honestly. ramsey just kinda says “oh you washed up unconscious on the shores of old sailor’s isle? cool let me just not ask any questions and part the shroud for you real quick ok bye” and honestly i can’t imagine gman would be much different—although he’d probably be more cryptic abt it than ramsey is

SO. GORDOS. i feel like him coming to the sot was a last resort of sorts. he feels lost in life, unsure what his goal is or where he’s going, and he hears of this mystical sea that nobody who enters ever leaves but apparently there’s adventure and treasure and wonder there so he’s like fuck it, i’ve got nothing else to do and goes there hoping to find some sort of purpose. and find it he does :)

tommy time! i feel like whatever brought him here had to be partially related to his dad? either he’s just There bc. well. his dad’s the fuckin pirate lord, or gman’s all cryptid abt being an ancient and left tommy to sort of grow up in the sot on his own while gman kept a distant eye on him, just so tommy wouldn’t find out too much abt being an ancient or whatever. uh. so he’s pretty familiar w the world of sot and all its wacky magic shit! 

(actual sot lore question here bc this is smth i don’t know—does all the magic that happens in sea of thieves happen beyond the shroud? i wonder if the rest of the world also has skeletons and giant sea monsters and magic and shit or if it’s just inside the sea of thieves...... hmmm for this au i’m gonna assume that all magic is something unique to the sea of thieves and doesn’t happen beyond the shroud) 

The Bubby. honestly i like the idea that bubby came to the sot just to like... get away from the outside world? like maybe he’s on the run from something............ this is very very vague in my mind and is extremely subject to change but i like the whole “I’M LEAVING THIS WORLD!” thing as bubby being like fuck the regular world i’m going into the flesh eating devil shroud and nobody can stop me. and then he did

coomer. the man himself. i think coomer came to the sot searching for adventure! and more to learn! he’s always looking to broaden his horizons and where else to go but to the mystical sea of thieves when looking for new experiences? coomer is just here to have a good time :)

UH i think darnold already existed in the sot... he just sorta Lives There... there are npcs who just fucking were born and raised there right. like tasha was in the sot at age 4 so it makes sense right?? darnold just live here and he helps get the crew from the outside world familiar with the sot!

FORZEN has been in the sot for ages—either he’s always been here as a mermaid or he got turned into one so long ago and he’s just been getting angrier and angrier w it every year he’s trapped here. he barely remember why he came anymore but god does he regret it. :(

bubby and tommy + coomer as well are agents of chaos in general. they don’t follow the fuckin Rules and it makes gordon’s life a living hell. 

bubby: look gordon i dug up some grubs! gordon: cool man, put those in the barrel and we can use them to fish late- bubby: (shoving the grubs in his mouth) gordon: BUBBY NO WHAT THE FUCK DON’T EAT TH coomer: oh, what a good idea, bubby! i am feeling quite hungry myself! (also starts eating worms) gordon: I’M COOKING DINNER AT THE CAMPFIRE RIGHT NOW PLEASE DON’T tommy: oh are the worms okay to eat? i wonder what they taste like gordon: NO STOP benrey, shoving worms in gordon’s face: eat worms? eat worms now please?

coomer finds out how to launch himself out of a cannon and he becomes unstoppable. the crew is attacked by an enemy ship and everyone’s like “oh fuck everyone get to the cannons!” and they go there to find coomer fucking launching himself directly onto the enemy ship, and he kills their entire crew in seconds. by the time he mermaids back to his ship everyone is fucking stunned silent and coomer is just like “well, that takes care of that! let’s get back on course, gentlemen!” and since then they just fucking fire coomer at people like a weapon whenever they get attacked by other pirates or skeletons. It Always Works

Ocean au (Pool of Blood)

Jupiter, the cat, is on the middle of the void looking at its eyes with a bit of defiance as the master, the patron and all-knowing father knows and waits for Jupiter´s next move and only a cat can remain so calm facing the big eye.

And sure enough, Jupiter is saved from the biggest and intense "don´t blink" contest when Cosmo, the dog, arrives with something in his mouth which was gentle put on the ground. Cosmo looks bemused at the big eye and bark at it.

"Cosmo?! That��s rude" the cat pretends to chide and the dog only rolls his eyes. "Anyway, which SCPs you got this time?" and is happy to ignore the master as Cosmo points at the pencil. A bit drooled but still in good shape.

"This is SCP The Pencil. It can speak with you until you paint what he wants to paint" Cosmo explains waving his tail and Jupiter narrow his eyes at him for a moment.

"Uhm-uhm. Look, when you bring a harmless SCP...it usually means that you found a dangerous one." Jupiter replies bemused at his friend who in turn is offering a knowing smile. "spill out"

"I found the Pool of Blood"

"I knew it" and looks at the dog in confusion now. "Wait, didn´t you destroy the pool of Blood?"

"Yes and no" Cosmo offers as an explanation. "Mother loves to make monsters, but, Pool of Blood wanted to make more and be more and I had to take the Pool...who at that time was an ocean...and now, I can´t as your dad wants claims on the Pool of Blood"

"Your mother likes more monsters than humans. What we´ll do with the Pool of Blood?"

"Well...someone will have to steal it"

Kurt Ryder, in all his savvy and cool persona, is forever thankful that Vicki accepted his invitation to Bruce´s ball in the last minute and he knows, for a fact, that Vicki is a well-liked woman and the chances of her slapping another woman and saying "he´s my man, bitch" are slim to none.

As the man opens the door his eyes seem to be playing a prank on his because his neighbour is wearing something different from her usual attire. An elegant mermaid tail dress in the gold hue along with her chestnut hair being free and looks fluffier as possible.

"Kitty? You Look beautiful" Kurt Ryder has to count all his luck starts that his date is not here to see him ogle at another woman. Kitty smiles and thanks to him. "Going to a fancy party too?"

"More like forced to come, but, yes. My date is going to take me at any moment..." she stops talking when a woman steps out of the elevator wearing a suit and a grimace on her face.

There´s something familiar on her face, but, Kurt is paying more attention to Kitty than this random woman. She offers her arm to Kitty to take, says a hello to Kurt, only after Kitty elbows her and her eyes point at Kurt, and they are off to their party.

Kurt was sure he wouldn´t see her again.

Kurt is wrong as both are in the same party talking with the same group of people. Vicki Vale is a great choice, even if she used to date Bruce, who is now married, thankfully, Vicki is professional and a well adjust woman so she´s not here to steal anyone´s man.

Vicki and Kurt did dance and drink, just for the sake of appearances because now is more evident than ever that Kurt is a terrible date for Vicki Vale. "Can you stare at her a bit more obvious?" she asked simmering a bit and Kurt apologies as he explains that Kitty is his neighbour.

Now, something truly odd happens, Vicki is a bit confused as she looks at where the woman called Kitty was as if she never noticed the other woman before. "Kurt, you were looking at her? I thought you noticed..." and this makes Vicki laugh amused.

"Kurt, her date is Tory Manson ''Drake'' one of the most wealthy women on the planet, well, she´ll be if she accepts the surname Drake...are you saying you didn´t notice her at all?"

"No" he states now being honest. "I was looking at my neighbour"

And instead of being mad or anything relating to that, all Vicki did is laugh some more and then, once she manages to stop to laugh at the sheer bizarre revelation she and only she was prived, she then speaks in a more amused tone. "Noticing more your neighbour? Kurt, that only means two things, or you´re in a new case or you want this woman to be a case for you" and with that, she walks away.

"Having fun?" Kitty asked as Tori shakes her head and has snappy replies to anyone who asks if she´s Drake´s heir. The reason for their change of hearts remain a mystery, maybe, Tori theorized in private to Kitty, their original heir was no good and they decided to bet on a bastard...as far the Drake knows Tori has no criminal records. A small and private joke among the two friends.

"Thanks for accepting being my date, I know you hate this and I know Felicia would not let me live if I didn´t bring a nice date" Kitty explained and Tori offers a small smile.

"Yeah, Felicia has high expectations to you, that´s cute and scary" Tori concludes and take a flute of champagne that was passing near her and drink without care if there´s proper etiquette or not.

"She has high expectations to Lorna as well...she is like Mrs Bennet, she really wants us to be in good marriages" Kitty confessed a bit amused, flatter and embarrassed at once.

"Bet she hated Alex" and that´s easy to see why. "Anyway, do you know that dude is staring at you?" Tori asked and points at Kurt for a moment as Kitty now notices him.

"Oh, I didn´t it...Is he looking at you?"

"No, kitten, he was looking at you."

Kitty waves at Kurt who is somehow mortified and waves back at her and pretends to go away to speak with someone else, for his big luck, it was Logan Wayne who is in a really good mood.

"Ok, where is Lorna?"

"Jump City...Why?"

"No reason, I haven´t seen her ever since the Frozen two theatrical release."

"....why you two like Frozen?"

"See? That´s how we would never work out"

The Foundation is having a problem in regards to the newest SCP they locate thanks to the new addition of the Foundation that is, let´s say, not human is causing a raucous on the staff and the higher-ups are having a problem.

"Is a pool of Blood?" one of them asks as Cosmo did share his tale to the humans who are taking the story completely serious as this SCP is classified as dangerous. "Wait, it was an Ocean? You can take this back again, right?"

Cosmo looks at Jupiter as if his fault. "His father won´t let me and no one wants to get Chaos´ attention" and this was enough to cause more tension in the meeting, but, Jupiter offers a solution ignoring that his father was the cause of the problem.(And technically, Cosmo´s mom is at fault too as she made this SCP)

"We know someone that can steal the Pool of Blood"

Where Killian meets (Emma) in the hospital.  Hes lost his memory short term & doing rehab to get it back  what he can of it.  he was abused badly  (maybe by the Crocodile) and he ran To get away from it.  he got shot  &  nearly ran over by a car on the way to hospital since no one would help.him .. kinda hes a loner trying to find his own survival and some one to help save him.  He needs a guiding light to help him / save him /help  heal.   Emma would be the nurse. 👌  

Modern AU

Emma and Killian on a game show, one as the host and the other as a celebrity contestant. Bonus points if there's secret dating or something????

Either Emma or Killian having a YouTube channel to help students study (like Crash Course or Khan Academy). The other finds the channel and finds it their saving grace for their class and passes because of them.

Trivia night at the bar gets really competitive with Emma and Killian on opposite teams instead of the same team like usual but Killian was planning to propose that night after their team won (like always).

Killian and Emma have a fight, Emma left to go for a walk and she realised that their fight was stupid because she didn't want to lose him, Killian is waiting by the door, make up kisses and more happen.

Modern AU Established Relationship: Killian gets a little sick (sinus infections are awful) and a whole lot of miserable. Emma takes care of him. Adorably fluff ensues.

EF (or Fantasy) Style Prompts

Killian's a wizard and Emma comes to him for a love potion (can be for herself or getting for someone else and can also be used for Killian or used for someone else).

Runaway Royalty AU Prompt: In NO way does Prince Killian want to deal with his kingdom or be forced into an arranged marriage. Summary: Thomas loved his family with all of his heart, but his never truly felt like they understood him. He never felt like he belonged when he was around them. With his infatuation with humanity, and now his crush on a human he was just always different. Virgil always felt like he had a role thrust upon him that he could never fill, that he could never be the ruler his people needed. His only solace in life was meeting with his secret friend. AKA: I wrote a little mermaid AU because I think this’ll be awesome.

A/N: Ok so I thought it would take me longer to get this first chapter out since I’ve been planning this for so long, but all the encouragement I got from you guys gave me the motivation to finish the prologue. I hope you guys all like it!

"-that's when I realized that the merman I had swam into was the prince himself. I tried to apologize but he brushed all of them away with a simple 'well it looks like you fell for me'." .

Thomas sat on his bed and looked at his father in awe. His older brother Patton was in a similar position next to him. Neither child wanted to look away and miss the story of how their dad met their papa. 

"And then what happened, daddy?", that was Patton. The 6 year old had a bright smile on his face and his fins swished in anticipation of what his papa was going to say next. 

Emile, the boys' father, smiled as he recounted the story of how he had met his husband, "Well, I asked His Majesty if there was anything I could do to make it up to him. The prince asked me to join him on his walk. And how was I to refuse a member of the royal family such a simple request. Eventually, we fell in love, got married, a-"

"-and had two spectacular sons", another merman swam up to the trio and gave the former a quick peck on the lips, "Hello, darling". 

"Papa!", Thomas swam forward into his papa's arms. Said merman didn't hesitate to scoop up his son in a hug, spinning around in circles, before stopping, putting Thomas down, and picking up Patton to do the same. 

Roman laughed heartily and set Patton back on the bed before tucking him in before turning to do the same for Thomas, “Are you boys ready for bed?”. 

There was a chorus of ‘Yes Papa’ as Emile and Roman gave both children a kiss goodnight.  Thomas smiled as he drifted off to sleep, his life was perfect.

    “I’ve got you now”, Emile laughed as he chased Thomas around the reef, before scooping him up into his arms. 

Thomas giggled in unabashed joy as he clung to his father’s shoulders. The giggles turned into shrieks of laughter as the older merman began mercilessly tickling him, “No, Daddy it tickles!!”. 

“Come on, my guppy, let’s go find your papa and Pat.”, the pair began to swim towards a clearing where the others could be seen, when a shadow passed over their heads. Thomas looked up as the water began to darken around them. 

“Daddy, what’s that big thing up there?”

“Hmm?”, Emile looked up, “Well, that’s a ship. It’s how humans get travel around the sea.”. 

“Humans? Like those people you told me and Pat about with the foots?”.

“It’s feet, but yes humans are like us except they don’t have fins. They use ships to travel around when they travel across the water.” 

Thomas was quiet for a moment. He had heard his dad talk about humans before, and he always seems interested in them, but other people were scared of humans. They said that humans were dangerous, and that they needed to stop them. But if his daddy liked humans then they couldn’t be scary, right?

“Are they bad? People say we need to stop them.”

Emile smiled at his little boy. He stopped and looked Thomas in the eye, “There like mer-people. We can be bad, but we’re not all bad.”

“Why do people say we need to stop them.”

“Well they’re afraid of people.”

“Why?”

“Because we’ve both done bad things to each other in the past. But your papa and I want to amend relations between our kingdom and the human kingdom. That way we can all be safe.”, Thomas nodded softly at Emile’s word, seeming to understand, “Come one, I’m sure your papa and Patton are looking for us.”.

    Roman sobbed into his hands. The messenger had just left and his news had left the king devastated. He sunk into his throne and tried to collect his thoughts. Emile was only 30, they were still both so young. Just last night they had discussed having another child. And now.. And now he was- Roman couldn’t even think it. 

A chill touched Roman to his core. How was he going to tell his core. Patton would be inconsolable. And Thomas… Roman didn’t even want to think about how his youngest would take the news. 

“Papa?”, The king stilled. Patton swam into the room with Thomas not far behind. Patton was holding his brother’s hand, and Thomas was blinking sleepily at Roman. It was obvious that the pair had just woken up, ‘What’s going on? Why’re you crying?””. Patton’s words only seemed to make Roman’s tears fall faster. He swam forwards and pulled both of his children into a hug.

The action woke Thomas up completely, and he finally seemed aware to the fact that someone was missing from their group hug, “Papa, where’s daddy?  

Roman took a deep breath before speaking, “I need to tell you boys something. Your dad is- he’s gone.”. 

It wasn’t until Patton started to cry that Thomas understood what his papa was saying. His dad was- His papa said he was… Thomas wailed as the meaning of the words began to dawn on him. He was never going to see his dad again. 

Roman held both of his children close and cried. And that’s where the trio stayed for what felt like hours: knelt against Roman’s throne, curled up against each other, crying their hearts out. Roman knew logically that one day they would all be ok again, but, in that moment, it felt like his family would never be ok again.

    So that was the first chapter! It honestly hurt to write this chapter, but it’ll set up characterization for later. I’m excited to see where this will go since there isn’t a lot of ThVi content out there.  Tell me what you guys think!

#JayDickWeek2017 Day 4: Mermaid AU

Ok. Maybe I didn't center on the AU again but it does mention it. (A bit.)

They are both genderbend because I just loved the idea of them being females.

Again, it has so many gaps one can imagine so go ahead. 

Yeah, it was supposed to be publish yersterday but I'm so good at managing my time. Seriously! Haven't you noticed?

(Richard = Rachelle. Jason = Jessica)

All she needed was to be told everything will be alright.

Rachelle Grayson adored the sea.

Ever since her parents were murdered, the sea was the only thing that kept her alive. On her feet. Sane.

She tried not thinking about it much, but everytime she was off the water the scene hit her like waves hitting the coast. And it didn't matter how many times it had happened, she'd always break down.

"Are you okay?" A soft but quite deeper voice asked, resembling the worried voice of her dead mother. She couldn't bring herself to look up, not in her current state of mind. "I see." The girl whispered, kneeling to her side, side hugging her in comfort the exact same way her father did when she was scared. It was hard keeping their minds straight. It really was.

But one day, Rachelle found a reason to stay on land. A girl. A lady who was two years younger than her. Fierce like fire on dry land. Eye catching. Beautiful features and wonderful shape. Elegant was her way of challenging formalities. Voice clean with a classy accent. Unforgettable. Could not go unnoticed. Everything she had was perfect in Rachelle's eyes. Every little virtude extraordinary and evey little flaw exceptional.

Her name was Jessica Todd. And she was quite a marvelous mystery for, the broken and tired, Rachelle.

"Why are you cryin'?" She asked, hoping for an answer for some peace of mind. The longer the silence, the more anxious she grew. Never a fan of quietness. Then shiver in response. "Maybe you'd like to come to my place. It's gettin' dark, and..."

"I'd appreciate that..." Voice cracked with tears still running down her cheeks, pale from the shook of remembering. "That'll be nice." She continued, smiling without feeling any positive emotions at all.

Jessica became Rachelle's pillar. She became a substitute for the sea. She became the reason. And she would do it again if the circumstance requires. She'd do it all again to see her beloved girl happy.

Time passed by really fast, and their love just grew bigger.

Maybe, after four years of a stable relation, it was time.

"I feel like you know me better than I do. And really, I appreciate your time to notice me but...How?" Rachelle questioned, back resting in the warmth of the bed with curious eyes. Her partner couldn't see her as she was resting with her head on Rachelle's tummy. Both staring endlessly at the ceiling above them.

"Oh...I don't know if you are ready to take the truth." She joked in response, getting a soft chuckle back. The thought kept bouncing back and forth in her mind, distracting her from the quiet melody that floated in the background.

"Maybe I am not ready but, can you hide it any longer?" Debated the oldest without hesitation. Hands slowly reaching to her beloved's hands. With a clean and smooth move, she got up. Sitting there, just waiting for an answer.

Rachelle adored Jessica more than ever. Her lover was her guardian, from the day she first entered the waves of the sea. From that moment she learned everything she could about the young lady who's life moved so fast.

She vividly remembered the first day. She was such a tiny baby when her parents took her to the beach. It was like watching herself in a weird way. Neither could actually swim at the time, but really loved it there. More similar occasions repeated, and as time passed it became more frequent.

Shape-shifting to a human just to admire the person who will eventually become her protege. The way she'd look at the sea, with the same phrase every single time 'Today I'm riding the waves.' Most times were fails followed by laughs. Those memories always bought her a smile. Memories which Rachelle doesn't quite remember.

"Today I'm riding the waves." She whispered to herself, face to face with the sea and a surfboard by her side. Not long after thinking about the weather, her dear lady stood by her side with a unusual gaze.

"Really?" She muttered feeling sudden insecurity. Before the oldest had a chance to grab her board, she grabbed her hand and forced her to make eye contact. "You be careful, do you hear me?"

"Always, beautiful."

It didn't happened. She was careful but it was too much to handle. She didn't see it. Couldn't escape it. Couldn't be seen. Body weak as it sunk to the bottom. No words, no movement.

Jessie didn't watch long. She jumped into the sea, not caring about what the other people screamed at her. She wouldn't and couldn't let her die. Not today, not when she could do something.

Fine red dust hugged her body, then she was swimming faster than any other human or creature could. Weak vibrations guided her. She knew she was near bottom. She knew she could be late. She knew but didn't care. She didn't care.

"So this is your secret? This is what you tried hiding from me?"

"I-I didn't mean to...I had to...This...I can explain it..."

"There's nothing to explain, silly. You saved my life and I don't care how."

If she only knew she needed her alive. If only she had the guts to tell her.

Few weeks wondered by as Rachelle recovered from the incident. Lately she's been brighter than ever. No days were blue nor grey. She smiled more. She was positive even when nobody was.

Maybe.

Just maybe she did it for those around her. Those who had their days counted. Maybe she appreciated her life more knowing the struggle they were trying to pass by. And it hurt her seeing them. It devasted her. A silent promise was made the day she entered the hospital. Not a sad face will be seen.

She, like an angel, made her promise come true. Didn't matter who it was or what it was, she made it. The joy it brought her to see sad faces turn into a smile was more than enough. It was easy for her, she was charming. She was lovable. She was the guardian they needed.

"Hey, babe? Could you come here for a sec'?" Jessie's voice echoed trough the rooms, reaching Rachelle as expected. The oldest rushed to the living room to meet her dear lady, avoiding tripping knowing how clumsy she was.

"I'm all ear." She replied, leaning forwards for kiss.

"Can you do me a favour?"

"Of course."

Jessica tried keeping it straight. But her efforts turned into tears as she ofreced herself to tell her everything. The other half of the truth he hasn't mentioned.

How she would never be able to wonder on land nor have any contact with people if Rachelle died. How she would be forced back to the water forever, not being able to ever see sunlight anymore. How she didn't care for her freedom at all but worried for her beloved's safety. How she was so careless about her own safety. How she woke up every morning pleading nothing will happen and how she'd go to bed every night sobbing in happiness to have her in her arms one more night. How she was slowly breaking down each time she'd do anything risky. How she couldn't handle it anymore.

How she needed her to say that everything will be alright.

"Can you do that for me?" Requested the youngest, holding back more tears. The hurt in her eyes gave her away, and Rachelle was more than capable of seeing it. Her hands aren't steady, neither was her whole body.

Slowly, Rachelle kissed Jessica's cheek. Arms around her waist, pulling her closer in a tight hug. Both hearts beating so fast it started to hurt.

Jessie didn't hold it longer. She was crying again. She held her tighter, not wanting to ever let her go. Not wanting to see her go.

Rachelle, on the other hand, stood quietly. Silently calming her heart beat and her sudden fast breathing. Calm. Calm is want she aimed for. Calm for her dear lady. Calm for both.

And she was able to give it to her. She was capable of giving her everything.

"Of course I can do that." She breathed. Opening her eyes, then separating to see her. Face to face a bright smile curved on her lips. Her hands ran down her cheek, cleaning the traces of tears with her thumbs.

There they stood for a few minutes. Just staring into each other's eyes.

"Listen up darling. This is not the last time I'll say this, but listen to me.

You and I are meant for each other.

You and I belong to each other.

And I don't care what happened yersterday.

I don't care what will happen tomorrow.

All I care about is now.

All I care about is you.

If you cried, I get hurt.

Doesn't matter if I die tonight or in ten years.

And if it happens I know you'll break.

Things about George and Harold in the Captain Underpants-Little Mermaid inspired AU

So I decided to add some facts for this AU since people are getting interested in it. Next up is George and Harold:

George and Harold

-Harold’s family lived in the castle under the ocean first and then George’s family moved in later. As mentioned before, their parents work for the king and Harold’s dad still left his family. The boys grew up together as if they were more like brothers, but they are still the best of friends.

-The first prank they ever committed at around age five involved a lot of sea urchins placed on the floor on one of the hallways. This lead to them properly meeting their king for the first time and the unsuspecting mershark had no idea that his warning would be seen as a challenge to both boys to keep doing pranks. Krupp regrets ever hiring their parents to this very day but he can’t flat out fire them for their sons’ behavior.

-George’s dad was one of the few people to ever visit the surface world and he recounted the tales to the boys, who had their creativity fueled by those tales. They both desired to visit the surface world at a young age.

-The boys still go to school, but not much has changed in regards to that.

-The grotto was discovered when they were seven and it is here where they are able to draw and write what they want to make to their heart’s content. Its also where they store objects from the surface world that they found, and most of the objects they like are ones others might not find interesting (like a toilet plunger or a toilet seat). They also found comic books that dropped into the grotto somehow and that was how their love of comic books was born. This also gave them some visual ideas of what the surface world was like, even though they knew that most of it was pure fiction.

-ALL THE TOLIET HUMOR RELATED TO THE OCEAN AND WATER THAT YOU CAN THINK OF!

-Harold loves to play with dolphins to the point that it can be a distraction.

-George’s necklace (which has an orca’s tooth) is a memento of the day he first met Harold. It has the same color scheme as his tie from the film.

-Harold’s necklace is the same colors of his shirt from the film.

-The boys are at the age where, if they want to help a human breathe underwater, the mermaid’s kiss they can provide can grant the receiver about an hour underwater. Both are grossed out by this and hope that they never have to do it.

-The boys have caused Krupp to get extremely angry to the point of him creating storms a couple of times. They don’t think much of it until they see how destructive this actually is to the surface world a little later on and this forces them to accept the responsibility. They also are responsible for creating one of the worst storms the surface kingdom has ever seen when Krupp finds out where they are and what they did.

-It is their personal goal to make a prank that will involve Krupp to chew his way out of a trap with his infamous shark teeth.

-Their secret code word for Krupp when they don’t want anyone to know what they are planning in public is ‘Bruce.’ 

-They heard the rumors about Krupp supposedly ‘cutting out his heart,’ but they find it amusing as well as disturbing and it doesn’t change their opinion about him.

-The boys found a certain red ring during an adventure involving exploring some gaps in rock formations that are small enough for merchildren to fit through, but it was still in a very dangerous area that was infested with large eels. They also were NOT supposed to be there, but someone tattled on them and they were grounded. This, combined with Krupp’s threat of separating the boys forever if they kept up their behavior, and all the rules he enforced, was what told the two that they need to break the rule to never go to the surface world.

-The plan involving the escape to the surface world involves looks of squid ink.

-George and Harold’s bracelets that turn them human are a matching pair, with George’s having a sun symbol and Harold’s having a moon symbol. It’s important to note that George was wearing the red ring when they made their escape.

-They made themselves human the moment they got to the shoreline. They were excited to the point they almost forgot that they needed to ‘borrow’ some clothes as soon as possible. They also adapted to having legs a lot faster than Krupp did.

-The first humans they met were Lisa and Billy, the adopted children of the king of the surface world. They all got along really fast, though Lisa was the more suspicious of the both of them at first.

-The boys find underwear to be the funniest article of clothing ever.

-It was later that first night, in the privacy of their guest bedroom that they shared, that they both snapped their fingers. This summoned CU out of the ring and the boys were terrified of him at first because they thought he was Krupp. It took awhile for them to warm up to CU and they were the ones who gave him the name ‘Captain Underpants’ when they saw what he wore in his human form. (They are also relieved when they learn that they can see him because they are genuinely good of heart). Still it confuses them as to why he looks and sounds like Krupp and it takes awhile before they recall the rumor about what Krupp did to himself.

-They are able to figure out that the power of the bracelets has a loophole–they can still work beyond three days if they don’t keep wearing it for that exact amount of time. So they revert back to their true forms at night when they need to sleep, and they accomplish this by sharing a very spacious tub that they dump a lot of water and salt into. They can just slap the bracelets back on the next day and not worry about reverting back when they aren’t ready for it.

-...Ok, maybe they might cuddle a little when that happens, but it’s only out of friendship.

-They meet Edith the next day. They are scared of her at first until they see how nice and friendly she is towards the prince and princess and she lets them eat some sweets she made. Its a few days later that they hear Edith’s story about someone who was like them and they discover the photo that reveals who her crush was about ten years ago. It takes them awhile to put together all the pieces and figure out the truth about Krupp.

-Their favorite ride on the boardwalk is the great big roller coaster, despite the fact that they puked after their first ride. Their goal at the boardwalk is to ride all the rides and to win every game, but the one they can’t is the high striker because they don’t have the strength to reach the topmost bell (ironically, Krupp was able to accomplish this when he was a human. Meaning he at least beat them in something).

-Harold takes a liking to Billy, though it takes awhile for George to like Lisa since she tries to act more mature than them (no romance between the kids at this point). The royal siblings and Edith are also the ones who show the boys around the kingdom and George and Harold regard them as their best human friends.

-The boys are very fast to protect the royal siblings from Krupp to the point that they will ago against him before he can learn the hard way why its a bad idea to threaten them of all the human children.

-Harold regrets leaving his family more than George does.

-The boys get homesick more often than they would have liked. While CU can’t physically comfort them in his current state, he is able to recall songs from their kingdom that helps to comfort them. They both regard him as a very out of control, yet very caring older brother figure who should have been the younger brother figure.

-Eventually they make it a goal to try to somehow make Krupp whole once more in order to make everything right again, but they have no idea how to do so. They also want both kingdoms to be on good terms with each other once again and to try to make their own kingdom a better place.

-Once they encounter Krupp on their last day on the surface world, both boys can now understand and see right through him. They are terrified as heck at first, but then they are able to openly stand up to him and speak their minds as much as they want because they no longer see him as a monster, but an individual whose had a miserable life.

-George and Harold force Krupp into an ultimatum that they know he’ll struggle with before the AU reaches its big climax: They will willingly go back to the underwater kingdom with him and be separated forever. The first catch is that he has to tell Edith the EXACT and honest reason why he left her ten years ago. Otherwise, the second is that he HAS to accept CU back and regain the feelings he removed from himself all those years ago (thus he can become whole once again). The boys know that one of the two needs to be done to try to make things right once more. If he doesn’t agree to it, then the boys will reveal their true forms to all the humans in the surface kingdom AND tell Edith the truth about Krupp and all that he’s done to the ocean kingdom and to himself.

And these are the facts I can give away without going into the ending. The next characters to get facts will be Edith, Lisa, and Billy.

they are incredibly powerful, the kind that goes down in myths and stories and fairytales when they set their minds to it. they can raze entire kingdoms and set the the forests on fire and kill a thousand soldiers w/o even lifting a finger, or so the legends say ,, but they mostly bitch at each other and ride their stupid enchanted broomsticks everywhere bc they’re too lazy to enchant a chair and it’s funny to see monarchs shit themselves when they pass overhead their castles lol

is a shapeshifter with magical inclinations! this means he’s not gonna be as powerful as sugamon, but he doesn’t have to make his bed or cut up the carrots or clean his house or wait for water to boil and can heal minor wounds :0

i was gonna be like “he can transform into a bunny!!” lol but nah he’s a wolf you gotta go big or go home right??

he’s got enhanced senses like sight, for example. sight, smell, hearing are probably the most noticeable for him, but he’s also unusually agile, so he can jump walls and climb houses and travel via roof hopping if he so wishes. transformations are whenever and wherever he feels the need !!! sugamon’s been training him in some potion making, since that’s less of a magical art and more of a physical one, and he’s been doing well !!

he’s a mermaid ,,, IM SORRY HOLD ON HEAR ME OUT OK IT’S NOT AS BAD AS IT SEEMS ,, he lives in the river and chills by the lake but can also handle saltwater for a couple weeks before he needs to go back to his regular abode,,, he’s able to walk on land, but he hates having legs since swimming is much faster tbh

he’s got the prettiest chrome tail and creepy ass gills on the side of his neck and his teeth are all pointed (think ..vampire Extreme) and he’s got that second eyelid film that scares people who meet him for the first time ??? + his skin always has a slightly blue tinge underneath it. he’s also got sharp ass scales down the backside of his arm that will draw blood upon contact, his elbows have smth that protrudes out of it (think the top crest of an angelfish, but weapon-grade), and he’s able to produce a note high enough & loud enough to shatter eardrums within a 0.25mile radius :^))

he’s small in human form, so lots of people try to take advantage of him bc he has a sweet smile, but he’ll still have it on when he kills u ,,, so. ur gamble my friends

ah yes our resident pixie :^)) he’s got huge ass dragonfly wings and hair that changes color with the season and one of the brightest smiles in the entire world !!!!! literally part of his defense mechanism is that he’s able to blind people w just a Look ok his eyes turn gold and his skin starts glowing and before u know it,, you’ve literally been murdered by sheer beauty

he flies around everywhere ???? (walking is for mortals lmao) and is a nature based sprite, which means he spends a lot of time tending to gardens and wildlife, helping flowers and trees and plants grow !! he’s honestly not that scary, but when provoked - his internal temperature rises to above 500K, which means he’s literally walking on smoldering ground like the devil himself and one touch will send anyone up in flames !!!!! aka the reason he Glows lol

ONE OF MY FAVES omg HE IS 100%  A FAIRY but not the one from disney stories Oh No he is beautiful as fuck w his huge ass butterfly wings (he flies around with taehyung) and they’re pink and silver and elegant as hell?????? he sings a lot and is generally very dorky, incredibly kind, likes to cook, has residual magic but isn’t able to wield it in a free format like sugamon & jungkook - it’s all an extension of his magical self

he’s  a fairy, but a fairy that’s a pseudo siren..he lures bandits/thieves/criminals/etc through the forest w his pretty voice & pretty face & when they’ve got nowhere to go, he turns on them & kills them dead lol. his eyes go completely red and his face turns dark and his nails become claws and his teeth sharpen out at the ends (not so much as jimin’s mermaid ones tho) and the last thing they do is shit their pants and scream???? literally (╥_╥) he’s terrifying as hell never get on his bad side y’all don’t want him to come after you

last but not least: hobi is a sylph !!!! he works the summer winds most of the time, but he also dabbles w the other seasons too, really depends. he hasn’t got wings like taehyung or seokjin, but he can fly, so it’s a common occurrence for the three of them to go out together,,

he’s very sunshine/sweet/kind, but he’s prone to mood swings as the weather changes. he’s also incredibly, uncomfortably straightforward, not in the way that yoongi is, but the kind where he calls you out for something big with a smile on his face??and u can’t exactly tell howhe feels about you??the free wind spirit is really evident in his personality lol.

he also gets really scary when storms are around the corner bc his hair changes depending on weather, so it usually goes silver or black and his lips turn blue and the veins start pooling under his skin and he looks incredibly dead but his eyes are an unsettling shade of milky white and he’s very spaced out??? then before u know it he’s gone and ur running for your lives lol
